- 0:00Speaker 1: The station.
- 0:00Speaker 2: Night.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Good morning, good morning, good morning. Welcome, welcome, welcome. The
- 0:11Speaker 3: sun is shining. It's Thursday, and I can just see
- 0:14Speaker 3: all the vehicles glittering from the dungeons Toyota, a lot
- 0:18Speaker 3: brand dungeons with car talking. We're gonna do a lot
- 0:20Speaker 3: of talking because we got a lot of people in here.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Do We've got a crowded house here in the studio
- 0:24Speaker 4: at kW A N. And it's another beautiful morning in Bartlesville.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Springtime has arrived a little bit early, and that means
- 0:33Speaker 4: we'll probably have snow soon.
- 0:34Speaker 2: But I got some cows and decide they got a
- 0:38Speaker 2: cab and they did it right.
- 0:43Speaker 4: That's good. And everybody be careful out there in this wind.
- 0:46Speaker 4: It is awfully windy today. Let's we don't need any
- 0:50Speaker 4: prescribed burning right now, that's for sure. All the people
- 0:54Speaker 4: that have been affected so far out there in western Oklahoma.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I had a Toyota meeting yesterday and down in Norman,
- 1:01Speaker 4: I mean, all the whole district was there, and there
- 1:03Speaker 4: were some folks from Amarilla, and they were talking about
- 1:06Speaker 4: the incredible wind out there, and of course the fires
- 1:09Speaker 4: and in the Panhandle, and it's it's quite a mess.
- 1:13Speaker 4: And so we need to everybody just keep everything batted
- 1:17Speaker 4: down and and take care of yourselves. But yes, I've
- 1:21Speaker 4: got my great friend Trevor Dorsey here from and uh
- 1:25Speaker 4: Addie from the Washington County Livestock Show. We were where.
- 1:30Speaker 4: That's another sign of spring every year as we get
- 1:33Speaker 4: going and start get ready to show our animals and
- 1:36Speaker 4: uh in this great tradition in Washington County, the Livestock Show,
- 1:41Speaker 4: and the great support for the young people that spend
- 1:46Speaker 4: so much of their lives preparing for this these events
- 1:50Speaker 4: and uh, you know through the years, I know, it
- 1:52Speaker 4: really takes a lot of work, right, and but it's
- 1:59Speaker 4: exciting and you know, that's something my father and uncles
- 2:04Speaker 4: did and we've we've been proud to support the Livestock
- 2:10Speaker 4: Show for a long time and lots of different ways.
- 2:12Speaker 4: And you guys, it's a very volunteer driven thing too,
- 2:17Speaker 4: mostly by parents and other people that care about the
- 2:22Speaker 4: programs and what happens there, right Trevor, Oh, yeah, sir.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the board has comprised a lot of
- 2:29Speaker 2: just community leaders and parents of the exhibitors. And so,
- 2:34Speaker 2: you know, I saw a post the other day something
- 2:36Speaker 2: about volunteering and I replied to like, volunteering makes the
- 2:40Speaker 2: world go round, So I think you know, obviously the
- 2:45Speaker 2: volunteers have done this, have you know, made sure this
- 2:48Speaker 2: show has kept going and that all the exhibitors have
- 2:50Speaker 2: the opportunity to be involved in in over time that's
- 2:53Speaker 2: you know, other animals have come into the picture and
- 2:56Speaker 2: and we certainly appreciate dungeons continued support. You may have
- 3:00Speaker 2: another a Guinness record maybe in the years of support
- 3:04Speaker 2: for the w c JLS.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Somebody'd have to do the research on that. I don't
- 3:09Speaker 4: have time for that, but no.
- 3:10Speaker 2: We sincerely, I mean every year it's a big deal
- 3:13Speaker 2: that you guys are very involved in sponsor, and so
- 3:16Speaker 2: we greatly it was.
- 3:17Speaker 4: You know, it was something my my father was passionate
- 3:21Speaker 4: about when he was in high school. He'd loved to
- 3:24Speaker 4: show his He showed bulls or anyway cows. I didn't
- 3:30Speaker 4: show animals, so don't ask me much to do that.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I grew up in Tulsa and came up to go
- 3:35Speaker 4: to the ranch and you know, sall the signs of things.
- 3:39Speaker 4: But we worked with the cowboys in the summer and
- 3:42Speaker 4: spent a lot of time doing the stuff. But I
- 3:44Speaker 4: never got the opportunity to really invest the time that
- 3:48Speaker 4: you do, Addie to take care of your your animals.
- 3:52Speaker 4: So tell us a little bit about what you do
- 3:55Speaker 4: and what you you know, what you show, and what
- 3:57Speaker 4: you're going to do this week.
- 4:00Speaker 5: This year, I have quite a few pigs and I
- 4:02Speaker 5: have a couple of sheep. It's a lot of time
- 4:04Speaker 5: and effort. I mean, I also high school rodeo, so
- 4:07Speaker 5: I'm outside a lot with my rodeo animals, my competition horses,
- 4:11Speaker 5: and then after school, I usually I go and I
- 4:14Speaker 5: give everything a bath. Usually I try to keep them
- 4:16Speaker 5: staying free. And then I have to work legs all
- 4:18Speaker 5: my sheep.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So yeah, no states, Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 4: That must be difficult with a pig.
- 4:26Speaker 5: They're definitely they have their own personalities.
- 4:29Speaker 1: They all have their.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Own pretty well. Yeah that close to them.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah, they're pretty fun.
- 4:35Speaker 4: I like the like them.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I like them better than the sheep.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Yeah. How long have you been showing animals.
- 4:40Speaker 5: I've been showing pigs since seventh grade and I've been
- 4:43Speaker 5: showing sheep I think since my freshman year.
- 4:47Speaker 4: So that's awesome, and you know what, you know the
- 4:50Speaker 4: other you spend a lot of time in the program
- 4:54Speaker 4: or are you in four age and you do go
- 4:59Speaker 4: to do a high cool play softball too. I understand
- 5:03Speaker 4: you really are busy, very That's good. It's good to
- 5:08Speaker 4: be busy. It never stops. I'm I'm finding myself busier
- 5:12Speaker 4: than I'd like to be sometime. It never slows down,
- 5:15Speaker 4: but it's good to get used to that and when
- 5:18Speaker 4: you're lots of things to juggle. So, but do you
- 5:25Speaker 4: have plans for the future? What what do you What
- 5:28Speaker 4: year are you in in high school?
- 5:29Speaker 1: I'm a senior.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Good, congratulations, thank you.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I'm excited. Yeah, after high school I plan. I haven't.
- 5:36Speaker 5: I'm undecided on college, but I'm going to go on
- 5:38Speaker 5: to college rodeo and study for physical therapy.
- 5:41Speaker 4: So physical therapy, yeah, and when what? At this point,
- 5:45Speaker 4: our support for the program is part of scholarships for
- 5:48Speaker 4: the Showmanship Awards, and so I hope maybe you'll get
- 5:51Speaker 4: one of those.
- 5:52Speaker 1: That's the goal. I hope.
- 5:55Speaker 4: So, and the whole process, I think for people that
- 5:59Speaker 4: are listening, some people, of course know how it works,
- 6:01Speaker 4: but you know, to talk about what happens, you know,
- 6:05Speaker 4: in the year before you get to this this great
- 6:09Speaker 4: event which starts next week I guess on Thursday. Usually
- 6:12Speaker 4: it starts Trevor.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so check in will be on Wednesday, and Wednesday
- 6:19Speaker 2: I think it starts at four o'clock and then actually
- 6:21Speaker 2: Thursday morning will be the start swine. We have broiler,
- 6:26Speaker 2: rabbits and ag mechanics. We added ag mechanics about two
- 6:29Speaker 2: years ago and we added I think the rabbits and
- 6:33Speaker 2: broilers maybe about two three years ago. So it's that
- 6:36Speaker 2: that gives a lot more you know, four h and ffa,
- 6:41Speaker 2: you know, students to be involved if they're not you know,
- 6:44Speaker 2: showing swine or sheep or cattle, and then Thursday will
- 6:49Speaker 2: be sheep and goats and then the cattle show. And
- 6:52Speaker 2: so if you've not ever got the opportunity to see
- 6:55Speaker 2: these young exhibitors, you know, work with their animals and
- 6:59Speaker 2: how they interact, you know, I would encourage people were.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Part of the show. Actually is go a little early,
- 7:06Speaker 4: go out into the barn and talk to you guys
- 7:09Speaker 4: and kind of meet and meet you and just and
- 7:11Speaker 4: get to you know, see the animal in a more
- 7:14Speaker 4: a little bit more relaxed environment, you know, and and
- 7:18Speaker 4: you know, spend some time out there because like I said,
- 7:20Speaker 4: you guys, this is it isn't like a quick pull
- 7:24Speaker 4: together thing. You have to plan these for sx months,
- 7:29Speaker 4: if not a y a full year to start to
- 7:31Speaker 4: prepare your animals.
- 7:32Speaker 5: When you usually start around I'd say August September ish
- 7:37Speaker 5: is when we start getting pigs and cheap and then
- 7:40Speaker 5: you got to break them and then you bring them
- 7:42Speaker 5: up and you got to make sure they're on the
- 7:43Speaker 5: right feeding regimen and go all the way up to
- 7:45Speaker 5: get them ready for county. So it's a lot of
- 7:48Speaker 5: different numbers and feed and configurations.
- 7:50Speaker 4: So I'm sure there's a lot. There's so much more
- 7:53Speaker 4: going on to it than we can imagine. And just
- 7:56Speaker 4: selecting your animal, I'm sure it's one of the most
- 7:59Speaker 4: important things, having one that that can be a price winner. Yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 4: and so how do you do that? Where do you
- 8:07Speaker 4: find your animals?
- 8:08Speaker 5: We kind of look all over, which I've been really
- 8:11Speaker 5: blessed with the support group to help me figure out
- 8:13Speaker 5: what's best and what's not because, i mean, my family,
- 8:16Speaker 5: all we really.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Know is about horses. But we were blessed.
- 8:18Speaker 5: To find a really good family that's helped me along
- 8:21Speaker 5: the way, that has gotten me going and has helped
- 8:23Speaker 5: me pick them out and keep them going.
- 8:25Speaker 4: So and you know that, so you start that process.
- 8:30Speaker 4: You select your animal, Like you said, you start figuring
- 8:33Speaker 4: out what to feed them and break them so they
- 8:35Speaker 4: don't come in all trained.
- 8:39Speaker 1: They're quite a handful when you first get.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Them, and you get you just over time they start
- 8:45Speaker 4: to get to relax a little, yeah, to get to
- 8:48Speaker 4: know you and get used to being cleaned up every
- 8:50Speaker 4: day and not having stains.
- 8:53Speaker 5: It's pretty frustrating at first, because I had one this
- 8:55Speaker 5: year that we didn't even think we're gonna get him broken.
- 8:57Speaker 5: He just all he would do was just lack the
- 8:59Speaker 5: ball and I'm just I'm just sitting there staring at him.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I was like, oh my goodness, So.
- 9:04Speaker 4: What did you do to get him to stop lapping the.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Bar stayed consistent on? Well, you had to let him
- 9:09Speaker 1: run the barn a.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Few times and then you kind of just stayed consistent
- 9:12Speaker 5: on him and eventually calm down.
- 9:14Speaker 4: So that's a good lesson. Yeah, And I think that's
- 9:17Speaker 4: the what's awesome about this is all the lessons you
- 9:21Speaker 4: get a lot of what you're learning there, well you
- 9:22Speaker 4: can apply for the rest of your life. These these
- 9:25Speaker 4: the patients it takes, and the how to how to
- 9:29Speaker 4: start with something and end up with something very different
- 9:33Speaker 4: from what you started with, and that plan that that
- 9:37Speaker 4: getting from the effect even a goal. I guess, yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 4: you're talking about that, and I know that's why you're
- 9:44Speaker 4: passionate about it, and you know everybody that supports the program,
- 9:47Speaker 4: and it is one of these things where it's a
- 9:50Speaker 4: way for you guys to raise money too, to get
- 9:53Speaker 4: your animals for the future. I know, the premium sale
- 9:56Speaker 4: and through add ons, you know that there's an opportunity
- 9:59Speaker 4: for the entity to come out and there's so many
- 10:02Speaker 4: corporate sponsors and people who will become and be very
- 10:04Speaker 4: generous and provide those resources for the animals of next
- 10:09Speaker 4: year and going on.
- 10:12Speaker 2: In that important Oh yeah, and then and you hit
- 10:16Speaker 2: on it. The sale will be Saturday the twenty eighth,
- 10:20Speaker 2: and you know, again, folks could get there a little
- 10:22Speaker 2: bit early. I think we'll probably start feeding people at
- 10:25Speaker 2: five o'clock. And you know, you can buy a really
- 10:28Speaker 2: good barbecue dinner. We have a lot of great sponsors
- 10:30Speaker 2: in our community that sponsor the dinner, and then we'll
- 10:34Speaker 2: have a lot of corporate sponsors that come out to
- 10:36Speaker 2: buy and the exhibitor and also individuals and so if
- 10:41Speaker 2: you haven't sponsored and you're listening today and you think, hey,
- 10:46Speaker 2: you know, this is something I would like to be
- 10:48Speaker 2: involved in.
- 10:48Speaker 4: We still have opportunities.
- 10:50Speaker 2: You can go out to the w c JLS Facebook
- 10:52Speaker 2: page or my Facebook. I usually try to post all
- 10:56Speaker 2: that and reach out and we'd be happy. We have
- 10:59Speaker 2: some maybe some Buckle and some specific animal sponsors and
- 11:04Speaker 2: you you're always welcome to come out. I know, these kids,
- 11:08Speaker 2: all the add ons they can get go miles toward
- 11:11Speaker 2: them paying for their you know, their their animal that
- 11:13Speaker 2: they had this year, or you know, in certain case,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I know, ADDIE's a senior and we've enjoyed watching her
- 11:19Speaker 2: for several years now. But these kids that are coming
- 11:21Speaker 2: on they may have animals next year.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Those that are doing it for the first time. And
- 11:26Speaker 4: you know, it is sometimes a big investment if you're
- 11:29Speaker 4: starting from nothing and trying to build up and get
- 11:32Speaker 4: to where you are, you know in six or seven years.
- 11:36Speaker 4: You know, that's it is important. That's what you can
- 11:39Speaker 4: that process. You can go get a sheet of all
- 11:41Speaker 4: the people showing and just you know, find the people
- 11:45Speaker 4: you know or donate to everybody on the sheet if
- 11:48Speaker 4: that's what you want to know.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and well, and it teaches you know, I think
- 11:52Speaker 2: we've talked about this beyond just raising and caring for
- 11:57Speaker 2: the animal and the work that goes into that. You know,
- 12:00Speaker 2: a lot of these kids when they you know, maybe
- 12:03Speaker 2: get through their education stage, whether that's high school or
- 12:06Speaker 2: are you know, collegiately, then you know, if they want
- 12:09Speaker 2: to start their own farming operation, you know they've they've
- 12:11Speaker 2: already experienced you know, this is the expenses it takes
- 12:14Speaker 2: to raise the animal. This is kind of the income
- 12:17Speaker 2: that I will see off this in order to continue
- 12:19Speaker 2: that operation. And so they get a lot you know,
- 12:22Speaker 2: people just think, well, it's working with animals, and there's
- 12:24Speaker 2: so many other I mean, you hit on it. There's
- 12:26Speaker 2: so many other things that these young exhibitors learned throughout
- 12:29Speaker 2: that process.
- 12:30Speaker 4: And you know that's f FA and four age both
- 12:33Speaker 4: programs have. You know, really that's what you do, right,
- 12:36Speaker 4: I mean, it's not all about animals, No, we do.
- 12:40Speaker 1: We definitely do a lot within my FFA chapter and
- 12:42Speaker 1: leadership community service too.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah that's right. And you mentioned you're big in the
- 12:48Speaker 4: rodeo and yeah, what do you do whether you're.
- 12:51Speaker 1: At what are you so breakaway?
- 12:54Speaker 5: Ti goats run barrels and pools in high school rodeo
- 12:58Speaker 5: with the State of Kansas.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Okay, well that's exciting. That's really a growing sport, yes,
- 13:04Speaker 4: and a lot more women getting in into it. I think, yeah, yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 4: that's that's fun. And there are college rodeo programs too, right, yep.
- 13:13Speaker 1: And that's what I plan on going into.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Is I have a couple of different offers from a
- 13:17Speaker 5: couple of schools, and I'm weighing out my my.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Often, so I'm trying to decide. But I'm pretty excited.
- 13:24Speaker 4: That sounds really exciting what you have. And you said
- 13:28Speaker 4: physical therapy might be or what you study.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I really enjoy I really enjoy helping people. It's
- 13:34Speaker 1: one of my favorite things.
- 13:35Speaker 4: So that's good. Well, yeah, I'm super excited for you.
- 13:38Speaker 4: And yeah, I'm glad you've got a chance to meet you.
- 13:42Speaker 4: You know, a lot of stuff going on in the
- 13:43Speaker 4: car business. I'm sure we had a Toyota meeting we
- 13:47Speaker 4: were at yesterday. There's you know, we've got all kinds
- 13:50Speaker 4: of great product coming out right now. It's a little
- 13:53Speaker 4: bit of time talking about the cars that rab for
- 13:57Speaker 4: twenty six RAB for. We've had a couple arrive now,
- 14:01Speaker 4: brand new model on the rat four for the first
- 14:03Speaker 4: time in about a decade, and it's the best selling
- 14:07Speaker 4: Toyota Barnan in North America, and you know, in Bartlesville,
- 14:13Speaker 4: maybe Tacoma at this point is what we sell the
- 14:16Speaker 4: most of the Tundra and then wrap for. But this
- 14:20Speaker 4: is really exciting to have a brand new one and
- 14:23Speaker 4: it's it's it's going to be really a nice vehicle.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Hope to have a few more on the ground right now.
- 14:29Speaker 4: They're kind of pre selling, so if you are interested
- 14:33Speaker 4: in seeing one, you need to reach out and it
- 14:36Speaker 4: will give you that brief opportunity before we deliver it
- 14:39Speaker 4: to the owner to come take a look. We've got
- 14:44Speaker 4: a huge selection of vehicles coming. We've got over fifty
- 14:48Speaker 4: vehicles in allocation right now. We just got twelve more yesterday,
- 14:53Speaker 4: and you know, plus what we have on the ground,
- 14:56Speaker 4: there's a great selection. I mentioned Tacoma, the great truck.
- 15:01Speaker 4: We're seeing more and more people's focus on Tacoma because
- 15:05Speaker 4: it's a great size vehicle and it's it's you get
- 15:08Speaker 4: them starting under forty thousand dollars, great value and gives
- 15:14Speaker 4: you that full rugged truck that you need. And you know,
- 15:17Speaker 4: if you're not really needing that full size truck. It
- 15:20Speaker 4: gives you, gives you a great option, and it's a
- 15:23Speaker 4: great value, and of course you can do a lot
- 15:26Speaker 4: with it, personalize how you're going to use the vehicle.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Makes a great truck in a in a ranch like
- 15:33Speaker 4: environment because of the it's tough nature and how they
- 15:37Speaker 4: are fairly virtually indestructible. So we see a lot of
- 15:41Speaker 4: oil companies driving them from well to well. Those those
- 15:45Speaker 4: trucks get beat up, believe me, and very durable, that's
- 15:49Speaker 4: what That's what I'm talking about. Yeah, And so that
- 15:53Speaker 4: that's one thing going on. We got I think eighteen
- 15:55Speaker 4: tacomas that are on the ground are incoming right now,
- 15:58Speaker 4: so great selection and we got allocated uh tr D
- 16:04Speaker 4: pro Sequoia, which is what I like to drive right now.
- 16:10Speaker 4: And but this one's that we just got is gonna
- 16:13Speaker 4: I think we'll end up being wave Runner color, which
- 16:16Speaker 4: is a brand new color only available on the tr
- 16:18Speaker 4: D Pro series right now. It's kind of a wild
- 16:22Speaker 4: ocean blue color, very very very cool. Other stuff going
- 16:28Speaker 4: on at the dealership really uh you know today's world, people,
- 16:33Speaker 4: everything seems to cost a little more. Interest rates are
- 16:37Speaker 4: a little higher than people were used to there for
- 16:39Speaker 4: a few years, and so used cars are are incredibly
- 16:43Speaker 4: in demand, and so we're we keep we keep acquiring more,
- 16:48Speaker 4: but we sell them faster than we can seem to
- 16:50Speaker 4: get them. But so if you have an extra car
- 16:52Speaker 4: out there, it's really simple. It done just for us
- 16:56Speaker 4: to put a number on it. We're part of an
- 16:58Speaker 4: ico into Kelly blue Book instant cash offer buying center,
- 17:03Speaker 4: So you just go to our website. You can put
- 17:05Speaker 4: your information in there. It'll give you the Kelly Bluebeck
- 17:08Speaker 4: value for the vehicle based on what you tell it.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Often we can give you really sometimes thousands more than
- 17:15Speaker 4: that for the vehicle based on demand today and the
- 17:18Speaker 4: condition of your vehicle. So don't just give us a
- 17:22Speaker 4: shot at that. If you are looking to trade or
- 17:25Speaker 4: sell a vehicle, we'd be happy to make an offer
- 17:28Speaker 4: to you. Got with springtime, lots of weather stuff going on.
- 17:34Speaker 4: People need lots of When the temperature starts to change,
- 17:40Speaker 4: the tire pressure indicators seem to malfunction or something, and
- 17:44Speaker 4: so you get a lot of pressure changes in the
- 17:46Speaker 4: tires and we need so if you're having that and
- 17:49Speaker 4: it says your tires low or whatever, and bring those
- 17:53Speaker 4: in well to be happy to take a look at
- 17:54Speaker 4: those and lots of other stuff going on, and I think, uh,
- 18:01Speaker 4: you know, the focus that the dealership's really been on
- 18:04Speaker 4: making that sale as easy as possible for people, to
- 18:08Speaker 4: take the the all the confusing parts of it out
- 18:13Speaker 4: of the you know, the process, whether you know, we
- 18:16Speaker 4: don't play games with add on fees or adding a
- 18:19Speaker 4: lot of stuff to the vehicle. We have a non
- 18:22Speaker 4: commissioned sales team that really is just focused on your
- 18:25Speaker 4: satisfaction and making it easy to buy a car, finding
- 18:28Speaker 4: that right vehicle in the right situation for you. They
- 18:31Speaker 4: get paid the same whatever vehic kinds of vehicles they sell,
- 18:35Speaker 4: and whatever, you know, if we make a profit or not.
- 18:38Speaker 4: And so it really takes a lot of that traditional,
- 18:42Speaker 4: you know, pushy sales environment that what a customer recently
- 18:46Speaker 4: called it, the salesman ick out of the car buying experience,
- 18:51Speaker 4: and and uh, you know that we're proud to not
- 18:55Speaker 4: offer that part of it. The uh we uh, you know,
- 19:01Speaker 4: people spend so much time now researching what they're buying,
- 19:04Speaker 4: and it just uh, you know, they they in a
- 19:08Speaker 4: way it helps all that information's out there, but it
- 19:11Speaker 4: can be kind of confusing finding the vehicle that you
- 19:14Speaker 4: want and and we see people a lot of time
- 19:17Speaker 4: that takes you know, months to figure out what you want.
- 19:21Speaker 4: And if you're in that situation, just reach out to us.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Our team was uh. You know, they're trained to help
- 19:26Speaker 4: you through that process to answer your question, make it
- 19:28Speaker 4: simple and make it easy for you to buy that car. Uh,
- 19:32Speaker 4: they're the uh. You know, there's some changes in how
- 19:37Speaker 4: people and and interest rates are being applied, and it
- 19:41Speaker 4: can be actually give you a tax credit now and
- 19:45Speaker 4: the when your interest on buying a car. IRS just
- 19:49Speaker 4: announced some more clarity on what that's going to be,
- 19:52Speaker 4: I think yesterday, and so it'll be the interest on
- 19:55Speaker 4: your vehicle purchase. You have to meet certain requirements to
- 19:58Speaker 4: do this, so you want to talk to your ex professional.
- 20:01Speaker 4: But interest on the car plus things that are typically
- 20:05Speaker 4: financed with the car, like extended warranties, your tax, title
- 20:09Speaker 4: and license fees. If those are rolled into the vehicle,
- 20:12Speaker 4: the interest you pay on that can now be written
- 20:14Speaker 4: off on your tax return, which is a nice benefit
- 20:19Speaker 4: for people that are buying a car, and it kind
- 20:21Speaker 4: of takes maybe a little bit of the the extra
- 20:24Speaker 4: cost of the higher slightly higher interest rates these days.
- 20:28Speaker 4: You know, it makes a little easier for people to
- 20:30Speaker 4: afford that car they want. That's a lot of that's
- 20:34Speaker 4: still unfolding and people are trying to figure out how
- 20:37Speaker 4: to do that. But it is the IRS. It's given
- 20:41Speaker 4: us guidance now and I think we'll continue to do that.
- 20:45Speaker 4: You guys dealing with that in the banking business at Trevor.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Well, we've thankfully seen, like you said.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Rates so they've gone down a bit.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, I think that's probably helped some
- 20:56Speaker 2: and I think for a while now banks have you know,
- 21:02Speaker 2: obviously the the the price and cost of vehicles is
- 21:06Speaker 2: continue to go up, so you know, instead of sixty
- 21:08Speaker 2: months now you can get seventy two and up to
- 21:10Speaker 2: eighty four. That helps, you know, people get their their
- 21:13Speaker 2: their payments in the range where they can they can
- 21:16Speaker 2: afford it. And I think, you know, whatever government programs
- 21:20Speaker 2: are available where you can you can do this. I
- 21:22Speaker 2: mean the ag folks, you know, we can appreciate things,
- 21:27Speaker 2: but not you know, if you don't have a business
- 21:30Speaker 2: or a farm, the average person can't do that. So hopefully,
- 21:33Speaker 2: you know, if the IRS is making some that that
- 21:35Speaker 2: will also have.
- 21:36Speaker 4: An Yeah, we see that particularly in the fourth quarter
- 21:39Speaker 4: every year. A lot of people with those agg businesses
- 21:43Speaker 4: and they're putting units in operation and taking advantage of
- 21:46Speaker 4: that full depreciation that's available. That is a good point,
- 21:51Speaker 4: and yeah, there's a lot of complexity to that, but
- 21:54Speaker 4: that's what our team is there for. And and of
- 21:57Speaker 4: course you guys that the banks can help them with
- 21:59Speaker 4: that too.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Yeah, well usually the Yeah in Toyota, I don't know
- 22:04Speaker 2: what they may have specific financing. A lot of times
- 22:07Speaker 2: it's hard to match those, which is good because that
- 22:10Speaker 2: allows probably you, when you have your customers and you've
- 22:13Speaker 2: got a great team, whenever you can get them in there,
- 22:15Speaker 2: they can do everything right there and get them out
- 22:17Speaker 2: the door pretty quickly. And so it's not a burden
- 22:20Speaker 2: of them, you know, taking a week to get all
- 22:22Speaker 2: of the things done.
- 22:23Speaker 4: No, it's early. Can be easy, paint looking easy and
- 22:25Speaker 4: you know, and you're you're right. We deal with lots
- 22:27Speaker 4: of finance sources. I think, you know, if you add
- 22:31Speaker 4: up all the credit unions we can potentially deal with
- 22:34Speaker 4: in that program, there's probably forty lenders that we work
- 22:37Speaker 4: with every day, and they you know that, you know,
- 22:40Speaker 4: that's you know, so they really will compete for your business.
- 22:42Speaker 4: And you mentioned Toyota does have to subvented rates, and
- 22:46Speaker 4: I think right now you can get zero percent on
- 22:49Speaker 4: the BEZ up to seventy two months. Thunder has two
- 22:53Speaker 4: point nine for up to seventy two months. So those
- 22:56Speaker 4: are really great rates. Yeah, can't be zero percent, No,
- 22:59Speaker 4: you can't be zero We have people, a lot of
- 23:00Speaker 4: people coming in wenning zero percent, and it's hard to
- 23:04Speaker 4: get you know, it's only on certain vehicles now, and
- 23:08Speaker 4: but you know that those days are you know, maybe
- 23:10Speaker 4: we'll get back to them. I don't know, but zero
- 23:12Speaker 4: percent is unusual historically. And and the it's important to
- 23:17Speaker 4: remember is how I'll say this that somebody's paying for it,
- 23:22Speaker 4: so that the manufacturer or finance company together is instead
- 23:26Speaker 4: of applying it to the rebate side, is going to
- 23:29Speaker 4: put some money in there to lower the rate, buy
- 23:32Speaker 4: down the rate as they call it. And there's there's
- 23:36Speaker 4: just a limit to how how low interest rates can go. Actually,
- 23:40Speaker 4: you're right there.
- 23:40Speaker 2: And I think a lot of those programs depending on
- 23:43Speaker 2: you know, if you're willing to take advantage of other things,
- 23:45Speaker 2: then you can get the offset.
- 23:46Speaker 4: With Well, that's part of our simple sales process actually,
- 23:50Speaker 4: is we may make it really easy even online. You
- 23:53Speaker 4: can go in there and you can compare what if
- 23:55Speaker 4: I take the rebate like that I mentioned on the tundra,
- 23:58Speaker 4: You've got UH two point nine for seventy two months
- 24:02Speaker 4: and that has a thousand dollars rebate with it, or
- 24:05Speaker 4: you can get a three thousand dollars rebate if you
- 24:07Speaker 4: go to alternative financing. So and you can compare those
- 24:10Speaker 4: rates and see what the best deal is for you.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Enough of that stuff, let's addie, yeah, is that interest
- 24:18Speaker 4: you at all?
- 24:22Speaker 1: That's my boyfriend.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Guys. Okay, cool, you've got a big Chevy.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Truck I saw, yeah, horse trailer yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 4: Horse trailers under can pull the Space shuttle though, so
- 24:33Speaker 4: I know anyway. But so the show again, it starts
- 24:40Speaker 4: next week Thursday morning with the real show, and then.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Friday and then on into Saturday whenever they actually will
- 24:49Speaker 2: do the sale. And again I encourage everybody out there,
- 24:53Speaker 2: if you've not been, or you won't already have been,
- 24:56Speaker 2: and you know you're just waiting for the dates to
- 24:59Speaker 2: be so that you could come, please come sport Addie
- 25:02Speaker 2: Jones and all of the other FFA and four H exhibitors, and.
- 25:07Speaker 4: There's hundreds of kids involved in these programs. It is
- 25:11Speaker 4: such a big deal now at Barsview High School's got
- 25:13Speaker 4: the program finally after a few years and not having one.
- 25:17Speaker 2: If there's three or four hundred kids now, maybe three
- 25:19Speaker 2: fifty four hundred kids that are involved that when we
- 25:21Speaker 2: didn't have a program. So it has been a huge success.
- 25:24Speaker 2: And again thank you Brad and the Dungeon's, you know,
- 25:27Speaker 2: Toyota and the Dungeon's family for all your sponsorship throughout
- 25:30Speaker 2: the years. And we encourage other local businesses and just
- 25:34Speaker 2: people that want to be involved with We love to
- 25:37Speaker 2: get sponsors for these young exhibitors.
- 25:39Speaker 4: So again, thank you, good luck in the show this
- 25:41Speaker 4: year and with your future endeavors and with the rodeos.
- 25:46Speaker 4: When is rodeo season We.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Start back up at the end.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Of March, so getting ready for that too for.
- 25:52Speaker 1: A second semester.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Have fun with that and good luck in your college
- 25:56Speaker 4: career later and great to meet you. Thank you, congratulations,
