0:23
Speaker 1: I mean, he's a lawyer. He's a friend of President
0:24
Speaker 1: Clinton's from Martha's Vineyard from the 90s. When I was
0:27
Speaker 1: staffing the president, I met Alan. Question, and what's your
0:31
Speaker 1: relationship to Alan Dershowitz? Answer, I don't recall talking to
0:34
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz in the last 10 to 15 years, or
0:37
Speaker 1: maybe even well beyond that. I don't know. I don't
0:40
Speaker 1: have any relationship with Mr. Dershowitz. Question, what was your
0:43
Speaker 1: understanding of Mr. Dershowitz's relationship to Epstein? Answer, I have
0:48
Speaker 1: no idea or knowledge of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
0:52
Speaker 1: I mean, I've read things and heard things again in
0:54
Speaker 1: recent years, but I don't think I remember or know. Question,
0:58
Speaker 1: have you ever discussed allegations of sexual abuse against Mr. Dershowitz?
1:02
Speaker 1: With Mr. Dershowitz? Answer, no. Mr. Lynch, Mr. Band, how
1:07
Speaker 1: many times did you fly on Mr. Epstein's aircraft? Band,
1:10
Speaker 1: I don't recall. I think again, from in preparation for today,
1:14
Speaker 1: seeing the flight logs, I flew on the plane staffing
1:16
Speaker 1: President Clinton several times. Mr. Lynch, several meaning more than five? Band,
1:21
Speaker 1: I believe so. Lynch, more than 10? Band, I don't
1:24
Speaker 1: know the exact number, but yeah, I think so. Mr. Lynch,
1:28
Speaker 1: more than 10? Banned, I think so, yeah. Lynch, okay,
1:31
Speaker 1: more than 15? Banned, I believe so. The logs, well, again,
1:34
Speaker 1: the logs were written by someone else, but I believe
1:36
Speaker 1: I was staffing the president on various trips, and those
1:40
Speaker 1: had different legs of them, so yes. Mr. Lynch, more
1:43
Speaker 1: than 20? Banned, I don't know. Lynch, you said a few,
1:46
Speaker 1: and we're over 15 already. Banned, I said several, yeah,
1:50
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Lynch, you said several, we're over 15. Banned, yeah,
1:54
Speaker 1: I don't know the exact number. Lynch, okay. Ban, this
1:57
Speaker 1: is a long time ago. Lynch, in any of those flights,
2:00
Speaker 1: 15 flights, were there young women on the plane? Ban,
2:04
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Lynch, do you have any first-hand
2:06
Speaker 1: knowledge of Epstein's relationship with any of the following individuals?
2:11
Speaker 1: And if yes, what was your understanding of that relationship?
2:14
Speaker 1: Sultan Ahmed bin Suleiman. Ban, no. Howard Lutnick. Ban, no.
2:20
Speaker 1: Paolo Zampoli. Ban, no. Do you know him? Ban, I
2:24
Speaker 1: met him many, many years ago. I don't have a
2:26
Speaker 1: relationship with him. and again, subsequently, read about the things
2:29
Speaker 1: in recent times. Mr. Lynch, but you don't know what
2:33
Speaker 1: the nature of his relationship with Epstein would be. Band,
2:35
Speaker 1: no sir, I do not. Lynch, Robert F. Kennedy, currently
2:38
Speaker 1: the secretary of HHS. Band, I don't know. Question, you
2:42
Speaker 1: have to answer yes or no. Band, I'm sorry. No,
2:45
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Lynch, Kathy Rumler. Band, no. Question, was she
2:52
Speaker 1: employed with the president at the same time you were there? Band,
2:55
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Lynch, Was she employed with the president at
2:59
Speaker 1: the same time you were there? Banned Kathy Rumler? Lynch? Yeah. Banned?
3:03
Speaker 1: I don't know her. I don't think she ever worked
3:05
Speaker 1: for President Clinton. Lynch? She was a White House counsel. Banned?
3:08
Speaker 1: Not for the president. Lynch? Steve Bannon? Banned? No. Leo Botstein? No.
3:13
Speaker 1: Noam Chomsky? No. The journalist Michael Wolff? No. How about
3:17
Speaker 1: Sarah Ferguson? No. Former Duchess of York? No. How about
3:22
Speaker 1: Peter Mandelson? A British politician? No. Kimball Musk? No. Question,
3:27
Speaker 1: so you don't know any connection between him and Epstein? Banned,
3:30
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I don't know who that is. Lynch, Elon
3:33
Speaker 1: Musk's brother? Banned, no. Mr. Lynch, Martin Nowak, Harvard professor
3:38
Speaker 1: of mathematics and biology? Banned, no. How about Richard Branson
3:43
Speaker 1: of Virgin Group, Virgin Atlantic? No. How about the magician
3:46
Speaker 1: David Copperfield? No. How about David Blaine? No. How about
3:50
Speaker 1: Frederick Fokai? No. Henry Drecke? No. Stephen Hansen? No. Jean-Luc Brunel. No. Mr. Lynch.
3:58
Speaker 1: Have you ever been on an aircraft with him? Brunel.
4:01
Speaker 1: I know he's a frequent flyer as well. Band. I
4:04
Speaker 1: don't recall ever being on an aircraft with him. I
4:06
Speaker 1: don't know who that is. Mr. Lynch. Okay. Alan Dershowitz. Band. No.
4:11
Speaker 1: Glenn Dubin. No. Ehud Barak. No. Mr. Lynch. That's all
4:16
Speaker 1: I have. Redacted. We'll stop there and go off the record. Mr. Harness,
4:21
Speaker 1: we'll go back on the record. Mr. Grant, before we begin,
4:24
Speaker 1: I just want to note for the record that Mr.
4:26
Speaker 1: Khanna and Mr. Perry were both present in the last
4:29
Speaker 1: hour and did not ask any questions. Question, Mr. Band,
4:34
Speaker 1: by Mr. Harness. I would like to enter into the
4:37
Speaker 1: record Majority Exhibit 2. This is a message, Shane, on
4:40
Speaker 1: April 21st, 2002, from the WJC email address to Ms.
4:45
Speaker 1: Maxwell's email address. It's marked with Bates number, EFTA, 0-2-3-3-5-6-0-7.
4:51
Speaker 1: I'll give you a minute to look that over. Mr. Band,
4:55
Speaker 1: looking at the bottom message from the WJC email address,
4:58
Speaker 1: it reads, by the way, the social matchmaker part is
5:01
Speaker 1: pretty right on. I would have told them that you
5:04
Speaker 1: are my pimp, but that at the same time, you
5:06
Speaker 1: are my lover. Mr. Band, did you write this message? Answer,
5:10
Speaker 1: I don't recall that message. Question, but it's from the
5:13
Speaker 1: WJC email address. So did you write the message? Answer, well,
5:17
Speaker 1: as I said, I don't recall sending it. And here
5:19
Speaker 1: it just looks like it says, you wrote. I don't
5:22
Speaker 1: know who you is. I'm not trying to be argumentative.
5:25
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, is it that you don't recall or that
5:28
Speaker 1: it didn't happen? Banned, I don't recall whether it happened
5:31
Speaker 1: or not. Mace, did your lawyers advise you to say
5:33
Speaker 1: you don't recall anything you didn't want to discuss today? Shapiro,
5:37
Speaker 1: don't discuss the legal advice your lawyers give you. Miss Mace,
5:40
Speaker 1: do you have a law degree? Banned, yes, ma'am. Mace,
5:43
Speaker 1: is that what they teach you in law school? That
5:45
Speaker 1: you don't recall? Mr. Green, I'm sorry, what was the question?
5:49
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, is that what they teach you in law school?
5:52
Speaker 1: Tell your clients you don't recall when you don't want
5:54
Speaker 1: to talk about something? Is that what they teach you
5:56
Speaker 1: in law school? Where did you go to law school? Band,
6:00
Speaker 1: I went to Georgetown, ma'am. Miss Mace, okay, do dumb
6:03
Speaker 1: people go to Georgetown? Mr. Band, I don't know. Nancy Mace,
6:08
Speaker 1: do you have to be smart to get into Georgetown? Band,
6:11
Speaker 1: I'm not the Georgetown admissions office, I don't know. Miss Mace,
6:14
Speaker 1: what was your LSAT score to get into Georgetown? Banned.
6:18
Speaker 1: I did not do well on my LSAT, as I recall.
6:21
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, what did you graduate? You graduated, right? So
6:24
Speaker 1: you had passing scores. What were your grades? A's, B's, C's, F's? Banned.
6:29
Speaker 1: I don't remember. I went part-time at law school. I
6:32
Speaker 1: wasn't a very present student because I was working full-time.
6:35
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, are you saying that you're dumb? Banned. No, ma'am.
6:38
Speaker 1: I'm just answering your questions. Miss Mace, do you have
6:41
Speaker 1: memory issues? Have you been diagnosed with any memory recall
6:44
Speaker 1: issues by a health practitioner? Mr. Ban, no. Mace, okay,
6:48
Speaker 1: do you have any memory issues? Ban, not that I
6:50
Speaker 1: know of. Ms. Mace, how old are you? Mr. Ban, 53. Ms. Mace, okay.
6:57
Speaker 1: Question by Mr. Harness. Did you ever refer to Maxwell
7:00
Speaker 1: as your pimp? Answer, I don't recall ever referring to
7:03
Speaker 1: her as such. Question, but again, this is from the
7:07
Speaker 1: WJC email address that you wrote to Ms. Maxwell outside
7:10
Speaker 1: of this email. Did you ever refer to Ms. Maxwell
7:12
Speaker 1: as your pimp? Answer, I don't ever recall referring to
7:15
Speaker 1: her as that. Question, did you ever refer to her
7:18
Speaker 1: as your lover? Answer, I don't recall referring to her
7:21
Speaker 1: as that. Question, I would like to introduce Majority Exhibit 3.
7:26
Speaker 1: This is two separate email chains that have been compiled
7:28
Speaker 1: by the committee. The first chain with the Bates number
7:31
Speaker 1: EFTA 00011434 and the second with the Bates number EFTA 00581829.
7:40
Speaker 1: First email ending in 1434 is between you and Ms. Maxwell,
7:45
Speaker 1: but does not include a date. However, the second email,
7:48
Speaker 1: which is just the same message as the first email
7:50
Speaker 1: that's forwarded by Ms. Maxwell to Philip Levine, was sent
7:54
Speaker 1: on September 17th, 2001. I'll give you a minute to
7:57
Speaker 1: review that. Question, just looking at the second sentence again
8:01
Speaker 1: from the first email ending 1434, the second sentence reads,
8:05
Speaker 1: From Ms. Maxwell to your personal GSA.gov account. When we
8:09
Speaker 1: are all back in New York, the plan is to
8:11
Speaker 1: do dinner. We'll have the slutty Spanish girl, which will
8:15
Speaker 1: be nicely counterbalanced by the cool, poised Swedish type. Mr. Band,
8:19
Speaker 1: did you receive this message from Ms. Maxwell? Answer, I
8:23
Speaker 1: don't recall this message at all. Question, did you receive
8:26
Speaker 1: it from Ms. Maxwell? Answer, as I said, I didn't recall.
8:29
Speaker 1: I don't recall this message or ever receiving it. Ms.
8:32
Speaker 1: Mace jumps in again. Do you believe you have any
8:35
Speaker 1: reason to think that this document's not accurate? Band, I
8:39
Speaker 1: don't have any reason to believe it is or isn't.
8:41
Speaker 1: I'm just telling you I don't recall it. Miss Mace,
8:44
Speaker 1: is it that you don't recall it, or it didn't happen? Band,
8:46
Speaker 1: I'm sorry, as you said, I don't recall receiving it.
8:50
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, so you're going to sit here today, and
8:53
Speaker 1: you can't tell the committee if it occurred or it
8:55
Speaker 1: didn't occur? Band, I'm just telling you, I don't recall
8:58
Speaker 1: receiving this email from 25 years ago. Mace, okay, alright. Question,
9:04
Speaker 1: that is your email address, correct? Answer, correct. I believe
9:07
Speaker 1: that is. I had a GSA email address shortly after
9:09
Speaker 1: leaving the White House. Yeah. Question. Do you know who Ms.
9:13
Speaker 1: Maxwell is referring to in the terms of Spanish girl? Answer.
9:16
Speaker 1: I have no idea. Question. Did you ever meet anyone
9:18
Speaker 1: that fits that description that was associated or connected with Ms.
9:22
Speaker 1: Maxwell and Epstein? Answer. I don't recall meeting anybody with
9:26
Speaker 1: that description. Question. Did you ever meet a Swedish woman
9:29
Speaker 1: or young girl that was associated to or connected with Ms.
9:33
Speaker 1: Maxwell or Mr. Epstein? Answer. No. I don't recall ever
9:36
Speaker 1: meeting that person. Question she goes on to say, let
9:40
Speaker 1: me know when you next go to Europe as I
9:42
Speaker 1: do have some interesting and fun friends that could hook
9:45
Speaker 1: you up. Mr. Band, did you ever meet up with
9:49
Speaker 1: any person or people that had any association to Glenn
9:51
Speaker 1: Maxwell or Mr. Epstein in Europe? Answer, not that I recall. Mr. Emmer,
9:57
Speaker 1: did you ever travel to Europe with Maxwell or Epstein?
10:00
Speaker 1: banned well i think you asked earlier about morocco trip
10:03
Speaker 1: and other trips i don't ever recall traveling with them
10:05
Speaker 1: to europe but possible sure question by mr harnice question
10:10
Speaker 1: so the email that you received from miss maxwell was
10:12
Speaker 1: around the time of 9 11 do you still not
10:14
Speaker 1: recall the email this is the week of 9 11
10:18
Speaker 1: you don't recall ever receiving the email Answer, I don't
10:21
Speaker 1: ever recall receiving the email. Question, did you ever reply
10:24
Speaker 1: to that email? Answer, I don't ever recall receiving it,
10:27
Speaker 1: so I have no idea. Question, I would like to
10:29
Speaker 1: introduce Majority Exhibit 4, which is a message chain between
10:33
Speaker 1: the WJC email address and Ghislaine Maxwell occurring on November 2, 2002.
10:39
Speaker 1: This is marked with the Bates number, EFTA 00582193. I'll
10:42
Speaker 1: give you a moment to read that. Answer, thanks. Question,
10:49
Speaker 1: the bottom message from WJC at 521 p.m., you're right.
10:53
Speaker 1: What's your deal tonight? Did you just want to ascertain
10:56
Speaker 1: what Ms. Maxwell was up to around this time? Answer again,
11:00
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I don't, I don't remember this email at all.
11:05
Speaker 1: And I don't see who it's from at the bottom.
11:07
Speaker 1: You said you wrote. I don't know that I wrote that,
11:09
Speaker 1: but I don't remember. Question, that message, Shane, whatever the
11:13
Speaker 1: bottom is, is from the WJC going to Glenn Maxwell.
11:17
Speaker 1: So then the top message would be from Ms. Maxwell. Ms.
11:21
Speaker 1: Maxwell then writes, we're going to the movies and then
11:24
Speaker 1: we will meet you. Two questions, where plus there is
11:27
Speaker 1: a crew here, redacted, plus two Brazilians. Can they come
11:30
Speaker 1: too if we come? Thoughts? Did you ever meet up
11:33
Speaker 1: with Ms. Maxwell around this date? Answer, no. Not that
11:37
Speaker 1: I recall. I don't know. Question, did Ms. Maxwell ever
11:40
Speaker 1: introduce you to two Brazilians? Answer, not that I can recall. Question,
11:45
Speaker 1: what was Ms. Maxwell referring to? In the two Brazilians,
11:48
Speaker 1: were they young women or girls? Answer, I have no idea.
11:51
Speaker 1: I think you should ask Ms. Maxwell. I don't know. Question,
11:54
Speaker 1: this is an email that you received. You're on this chain, Mr. Ban, correct? Answer, well,
11:59
Speaker 1: I'm not disputing that. But I don't know where it
12:02
Speaker 1: says that this is from me. You're saying it's to me.
12:04
Speaker 1: But I don't see, unless I'm missing something, where it
12:07
Speaker 1: says at the bottom. It just says 521 PM, 11-2, 2002. Question, yeah,
12:09
Speaker 1: like I just said. But the bottom message says, The
12:16
Speaker 1: earlier message at 521, that is you writing from the WJC.
12:21
Speaker 1: What you see above is Maxwell writing back to you, correct?
12:23
Speaker 1: Do you agree? Answer, I don't know. I mean, I
12:26
Speaker 1: don't remember the email, so I'm not going to say
12:28
Speaker 1: that this is from me because it doesn't say WJC
12:31
Speaker 1: on it. I mean, it doesn't say an email address
12:33
Speaker 1: on the bottom. I'm not trying to be combative. I'm
12:36
Speaker 1: just saying I don't remember it, but I don't see it.
12:38
Speaker 1: I have no idea. Question, regardless, were you ever introduced
12:43
Speaker 1: to any group of women around Maxwell that were associated
12:46
Speaker 1: with or connected to Maxwell? Answer, not that I recall. Question,
12:50
Speaker 1: do you know what's underneath the redacted message? Answer, I
12:53
Speaker 1: don't remember the email in the first place, so no. Question,
12:56
Speaker 1: did you ever meet any woman associated with or connected
13:00
Speaker 1: to Ms. Maxwell named Sarah? Answer, I vaguely remember she
13:04
Speaker 1: had someone that worked for her named Sarah. Sarah, I
13:07
Speaker 1: don't know which one. Question, do you recall when you
13:09
Speaker 1: met Sarah? Answer, I recall she several years ago was
13:13
Speaker 1: married to someone that was a friend of a friend
13:15
Speaker 1: and I saw her out a few times with him. Question,
13:18
Speaker 1: and who was that? Answer, Brian Vickers. Question, do you
13:21
Speaker 1: recall the nature of your conversations with Sarah? Answer, I
13:24
Speaker 1: do not. Question, do you recall anybody else when you
13:28
Speaker 1: had met Sarah? Answer, I don't. All right, folks, we're
13:32
Speaker 1: going to wrap up right here. And in the next episode,
13:34
Speaker 1: dealing with the topic, we're going to pick up where
13:36
Speaker 1: we left off. All the information that goes with this
13:38
Speaker 1: episode can be found In the description box. What's up
13:42
Speaker 1: everyone and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles.
13:46
Speaker 1: In this episode we're picking up where we left off
13:48
Speaker 1: with Doug Band and his transcript from his congressional interview. Question.
13:56
Speaker 1: And the same question to a female named Redacted. Did
13:59
Speaker 1: you ever meet or become introduced to a girl named
14:02
Speaker 1: Redacted that had an association with Ms. Maxwell or Mr. Epstein? Answer.
14:06
Speaker 1: Not that I recall. Question. Question. And you did not
14:09
Speaker 1: meet with Ms. Maxwell on or around this date of
14:12
Speaker 1: November 2nd, 2002? Answer. I don't recall meeting with her
14:16
Speaker 1: around this date. Question. So it seems that in these messages, Ms.
14:20
Speaker 1: Maxwell is trying to introduce you to women or trying
14:23
Speaker 1: to introduce you, trying to meet up with a group
14:26
Speaker 1: or entourage of women. Do you recall anything about Ms.
14:29
Speaker 1: Maxwell trying to introduce you to women or young girls? Answer. No,
14:34
Speaker 1: I don't recall that. Question. Do you have any knowledge
14:37
Speaker 1: as to why Ms. Maxwell was traveling with or inviting
14:40
Speaker 1: a group of women or young girls to meet with you? Answer, no,
14:43
Speaker 1: I do not. Question, Mr. Band. Ms. Maxwell was part
14:47
Speaker 1: of one of the largest international sex trafficking operations. She
14:51
Speaker 1: mentions international people, international women, and young girls, and she's
14:56
Speaker 1: clearly trying to invite them to introduce to you. Do
14:59
Speaker 1: you have any knowledge of Ms. Maxwell introducing a group
15:02
Speaker 1: of women or young girls to anyone that you knew
15:05
Speaker 1: at the time of your relationship with Ms. Maxwell? Answer, no. Mr.
15:09
Speaker 1: Emmer jumps in. We discussed Sarah and redacted. Do you
15:13
Speaker 1: recall seeing any other woman or women that are described
15:16
Speaker 1: as assistants with Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell? Ban, no.
15:20
Speaker 1: I don't recall seeing any other women. Nancy Mace jumps in.
15:24
Speaker 1: Can I follow up on something? You mentioned earlier you
15:27
Speaker 1: remember meeting Sarah Kellan. Is that what the testimony was?
15:32
Speaker 1: A woman named Sarah. Banned, yeah. Mace. And then you
15:37
Speaker 1: mentioned a male named Brian Vickers. Who is Brian Vickers? Mr. Banned,
15:41
Speaker 1: her husband. Miss Mace. Okay, do you recall Sarah's last name? Answer,
15:47
Speaker 1: I don't. Question, but you recall her husband's full name. Answer,
15:52
Speaker 1: Brian Vickers is a famous race car driver. He was
15:55
Speaker 1: a friend of Miss Mace. I don't know who he is.
15:58
Speaker 1: Doug Band, he was, as I said, a friend of
16:00
Speaker 1: a friend of mine. So I met him. This is
16:03
Speaker 1: probably mid-2000s. Miss Mace, how many years ago was that?
16:08
Speaker 1: Doug Band, 10, 12, something like that. Nancy Mace, mid-2000s. Band, no, sorry.
16:14
Speaker 1: I was going to say mid-2010s, 20s. I don't remember specifically. Question,
16:20
Speaker 1: but you remember his name and that he was married
16:22
Speaker 1: to a girl named Sarah. But you don't recall anything
16:25
Speaker 1: else in any other question today but that one. You
16:29
Speaker 1: recall certain selective details, but not others. Answer. I think
16:34
Speaker 1: I've recalled a lot of things from various questions today.
16:38
Speaker 1: As I said, Brian is a friend of a friend.
16:40
Speaker 1: I saw him out socially. There were a couple of
16:42
Speaker 1: race car drivers who hung out and spent time with
16:45
Speaker 1: a friend of mine. That was a very different social circle,
16:48
Speaker 1: and I knew Brian. Nancy Mace. I don't know who
16:51
Speaker 1: he is. Okay. And your testimony today is that every
16:54
Speaker 1: single email from WJCAccount in the Epstein files is from you?
16:59
Speaker 1: Doug Band, I believe so. Nancy Mace, you believe so.
17:04
Speaker 1: Is it your testimony today that every single email in
17:07
Speaker 1: the Epstein files from this WJC email account is from you? Band, well,
17:12
Speaker 1: as I said, some of these emails, again, and I'm
17:15
Speaker 1: not trying to be difficult. Nancy Mace, you're being difficult. Like,
17:19
Speaker 1: I honestly had real hope for you to be like
17:21
Speaker 1: a really great witness for us. I think this is
17:24
Speaker 1: going to go down as one of the greatest cover-ups
17:26
Speaker 1: in American history. And I think you know more than
17:29
Speaker 1: what you're telling. And I'm just extremely disappointed to hear,
17:32
Speaker 1: do not recall. I'm not an attorney. I never went
17:36
Speaker 1: to law school. I'm a high school dropout, but I'm
17:38
Speaker 1: not a moron. And I just had so much. I
17:41
Speaker 1: read that Vanity Fair interview and I thought it was
17:44
Speaker 1: very honest and very telling. And here you are today
17:47
Speaker 1: contradicting even some of your statements. So why would you
17:50
Speaker 1: use an email that was reportedly from the president of
17:53
Speaker 1: the United States, former president of the United States, Why
17:57
Speaker 1: would you be using an email with his name on it? Answer,
18:01
Speaker 1: like I said, I don't know. We had different emails.
18:04
Speaker 1: People were setting up different things back then. I don't know.
18:08
Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, you don't know why? She gets cut off
18:10
Speaker 1: by Band. I don't. She picks back up. I frequently
18:13
Speaker 1: use an email of a current or former president. Mr. Band,
18:17
Speaker 1: President Clinton did not use email. Nancy Mace, so why
18:21
Speaker 1: would you use? You had your own email, right? You
18:23
Speaker 1: had your own email and the Epstein files that you
18:26
Speaker 1: used from yourself, Doug Band. Band, we had. There were
18:30
Speaker 1: different devices, different. It was different back then. Nancy Mace,
18:34
Speaker 1: did you and President Clinton share a device, a BlackBerry?
18:37
Speaker 1: Doug Band, no. Nancy Mace, you didn't share a BlackBerry.
18:41
Speaker 1: Are you familiar with President Clinton's testimony in front of
18:44
Speaker 1: the House Oversight Committee? Did you review any of President
18:47
Speaker 1: Clinton's testimony before in preparation for today? Doug Band, we
18:51
Speaker 1: reviewed a little bit in preparation. Ms. Mace and President Clinton,
18:55
Speaker 1: in his testimony, he said that they shared a BlackBerry.
18:58
Speaker 1: Is that correct? Do I recall that you guys, they
19:01
Speaker 1: shared an email or they shared a BlackBerry? Mr. Burleson,
19:04
Speaker 1: there's an email that says, sorry, there's an email from
19:07
Speaker 1: that email from the WJC addressed to Ghislaine saying specifically
19:11
Speaker 1: that this is a shared, gets cut off by Mace,
19:15
Speaker 1: a shared BlackBerry. Did you and the president share a BlackBerry?
19:19
Speaker 1: Doug Band, no, he did not. Nancy Mace, okay. So
19:22
Speaker 1: are you familiar with an email dated October 4th, 2001?
19:26
Speaker 1: It's from, it's to Glenn Maxwell. It's from you, Doug Band,
19:30
Speaker 1: your email. It says you back. Another way to get
19:33
Speaker 1: in touch with me quicker is on my BlackBerry. Actually
19:36
Speaker 1: the president's, but we share it. Are you familiar with
19:39
Speaker 1: this email? Mr. Shapiro, we'll call that five. Mr. Harnice, five,
19:44
Speaker 1: number five. Nancy Mace, I'm not an attorney. I just
19:49
Speaker 1: pretend to be one. on oversight. Are you familiar with
19:51
Speaker 1: this email? Doug Band, I don't recall this email. Nancy Mace,
19:55
Speaker 1: what's the date of the email? Band, Thursday, October 4th, 2001.
20:00
Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, and who's the email from? Doug Band, it
20:03
Speaker 1: says from Doug Band to Ghislaine. Nancy Mace, and who's
20:06
Speaker 1: the email to? Doug Band, Ghislaine Maxwell, Nancy Mace. And
20:12
Speaker 1: can you please read me the email for the record?
20:15
Speaker 1: Doug Band, I think the email. Nancy Mace cuts him off.
20:19
Speaker 1: What does the email say, Mr. Band? Will you please
20:21
Speaker 1: read it to me? I don't have a copy in
20:23
Speaker 1: front of me. Can you please read it? Mr. Band, yeah, ma'am.
20:26
Speaker 1: You back? Another way to get in touch with me
20:28
Speaker 1: quicker is on my BlackBerry. Actually, the president's, but we
20:31
Speaker 1: share it. Miss Mace, do you recall sending this email?
20:35
Speaker 1: Let me guess. You don't recall. Mr. Band, no ma'am,
20:38
Speaker 1: I do not recall sending that email. Ms. Mace, do
20:42
Speaker 1: you not recall, or is it a factually inaccurate statement,
20:45
Speaker 1: that email? Is that inaccurate? Mr. Band, I just don't
20:49
Speaker 1: recall this email or sending this email. Nancy Mace, okay,
20:53
Speaker 1: is the statement that you wrote in the email to
20:54
Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell, is that true or false? Doug Band, I
20:57
Speaker 1: don't remember. I don't know what, as I said, we
21:00
Speaker 1: didn't share a blackberry, it was mine. Ms. Mace, so
21:03
Speaker 1: your testimony today is that you didn't share a blackberry
21:06
Speaker 1: with the president. But we have an email saying you
21:08
Speaker 1: shared a BlackBerry with the president from you to her.
21:11
Speaker 1: And then now you're saying that you don't recall. Is
21:14
Speaker 1: this is that what we're doing today? Is that what
21:17
Speaker 1: we're saying? I'm just clarifying for the record. Mr. Green, no.
21:21
Speaker 1: He also said he didn't share a BlackBerry with the president.
21:24
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, then why would you send an email saying
21:27
Speaker 1: you did? Mr. Band, again, I don't recall this email.
21:31
Speaker 1: As I sit here today, I was trying to sound
21:33
Speaker 1: important or overstate something. It's possible. I don't know. Miss Mace,
21:38
Speaker 1: you say your testimony might be that you were trying
21:41
Speaker 1: to sound more important. Band, I just said that it's possible.
21:44
Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't remember. This is 25 years ago.
21:48
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, so that would be braggadocious or bragging? Band,
21:51
Speaker 1: it could be. It's possible. Mace, we're going to get
21:54
Speaker 1: into some bragging here in a minute, okay? All right?
21:58
Speaker 1: Did Jeffrey Epstein ever visit any Clinton home, office, residence,
22:01
Speaker 1: property owned by the Clintons? Mr. Band, not that I,
22:05
Speaker 1: not that I know of. I don't know. Miss Mace,
22:08
Speaker 1: did Glenn Maxwell ever visit any Clinton home or office? Mr. Band,
22:12
Speaker 1: not that I recall, but it's possible, I don't know.
22:15
Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, how many times were you in the presence
22:17
Speaker 1: of the Clintons in either Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Mr. Band,
22:22
Speaker 1: how many times in the presence of President Clinton? Mace,
22:25
Speaker 1: them together, everybody together. Band, I don't recall ever being
22:29
Speaker 1: in the presence of all of them together other than
22:31
Speaker 1: the wedding which we talked about, Chelsea's wedding, I'm sorry.
22:34
Speaker 1: I don't think there was... I don't think he was
22:36
Speaker 1: at the wedding. Miss Mace, okay. Wasn't there a dinner
22:40
Speaker 1: somewhere where you met Epstein with Clinton present? Or no?
22:43
Speaker 1: At the very beginning. Mr. Band, that was just President Clinton.
22:47
Speaker 1: You said all of them. Sorry. Mace, okay. So today,
22:50
Speaker 1: your testimony, I want to clarify. You're testifying today that
22:54
Speaker 1: President Clinton never visited Little St. James. Is that correct? Mr. Band,
22:58
Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I have no information that he
23:00
Speaker 1: visited the island. Nancy Mace, have you ever personally... Been
23:04
Speaker 1: to the island? Banned, no. Mace, did you decline an
23:07
Speaker 1: invitation to the island? Did you ever decline an invitation
23:11
Speaker 1: to go? Banned, I don't ever recall being invited to
23:14
Speaker 1: the island. Mace, okay. In 2020, you spoke with Vanity
23:18
Speaker 1: Fair about your split from the Clintons. Banned, correct. Mace, okay.
23:23
Speaker 1: Did you tell the Vanity Fair that President Clinton visited
23:26
Speaker 1: Little St. James in January of 2003? Doug Band, as
23:31
Speaker 1: I said earlier, I had several conversations with Vanity Fair
23:34
Speaker 1: over a period of time. Miss Mace, okay, I know
23:38
Speaker 1: this stuff you said earlier, and it's just a bunch
23:40
Speaker 1: of gobbly gook. Doug Band, okay, Miss Mace, did you
23:45
Speaker 1: tell Vanity Fair that President Clinton visited Little St. James
23:48
Speaker 1: in 2003? Band, I do not recall the specifics of
23:52
Speaker 1: my conversation. Mace, where would they get that quote? It
23:56
Speaker 1: came from your mouth to his ear, Dan Adler, the
23:59
Speaker 1: reporter in Vanity Fair. Where would he get that quote? Mr. Shapiro,
24:03
Speaker 1: it's not a quote. Miss Mace, it's not a quote. Okay,
24:06
Speaker 1: not a quote. Technically, not a quote. He states that
24:09
Speaker 1: you said that Clinton went to the island in January
24:11
Speaker 1: of 2003. Where would he get that information from? Mr. Band,
24:16
Speaker 1: I do not recall having the specifics of the conversation
24:18
Speaker 1: I had with Vanity Fair over a long period of time.
24:21
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, how long ago was the interview? Mr. Band,
24:25
Speaker 1: I don't remember. The article was five or six years ago. Ms. Mace,
24:28
Speaker 1: do you recall what you did yesterday? Mr. Band, do
24:31
Speaker 1: I recall what I did yesterday? I came to Washington. Ms. Mace, okay.
24:35
Speaker 1: So your 2020 statement or conversation with Vanity Fair, not
24:39
Speaker 1: a quote, and your testimony today are opposite. So Vanity
24:43
Speaker 1: Fair says that you claim that Bill Clinton went to
24:45
Speaker 1: the island in January of 2003. Your testimony today is
24:49
Speaker 1: that he did not. So which one is true? Mr. Band, sorry.
24:53
Speaker 1: My testimony today is I said I don't have any
24:55
Speaker 1: information that he did. Mace, are you being this way
24:59
Speaker 1: to be obtuse, to obfuscate, to be intentionally confusing? This
25:03
Speaker 1: play on words? Why do this? Mr. Green, I'm sorry,
25:07
Speaker 1: what's the question? Miss Mace, you know what the question is.
25:10
Speaker 1: Why do this today? Why answer questions in this manner
25:12
Speaker 1: to be obtuse? I have a feeling you know where
25:15
Speaker 1: all these bodies are buried, and this is just disappointing. Mr. Band,
25:20
Speaker 1: I'm answering the questions to the best of my ability.
25:22
Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, no you're not. Banned, and the best of
25:25
Speaker 1: my recollection, I am, Ms. Mace. So you don't know
25:28
Speaker 1: which statement is true, whether the Clintons visited the island
25:31
Speaker 1: in 2003, which is what you told Vanity Fair, or
25:35
Speaker 1: your testimony today, which is the opposite. Which one is true?
25:39
Speaker 1: Which statement is true? A, the statement you told Vanity
25:43
Speaker 1: Fair that he visited the island in January 2003, or today,
25:47
Speaker 1: your testimony under oath, which one is true? Band, I'm
25:51
Speaker 1: telling you today, as I sit here in a voluntary interview,
25:54
Speaker 1: that I do not have any information that he went
25:56
Speaker 1: to the island. Miss Mace, why would you say that
26:00
Speaker 1: to Vanity Fair then? If you have no information that
26:03
Speaker 1: he went to the island, if that's your testimony today,
26:06
Speaker 1: why'd you tell Vanity Fair that he did? Mr. Band,
26:09
Speaker 1: as I said, I don't recall conversations that I had
26:11
Speaker 1: with the reporter over a period of time. Mace, did
26:15
Speaker 1: anyone discuss your testimony on this subject with you before today? Mr. Green?
26:20
Speaker 1: other than your attorneys. Miss Mace, other than your attorneys.
26:24
Speaker 1: Thank you. I didn't go to law school. You're so good. Mr. Band,
26:28
Speaker 1: not really. I talked to some friends here and there
26:30
Speaker 1: about appearing. Miss Mace, did you talk to either of
26:33
Speaker 1: the Clintons before your testimony today? Mr. Band, no ma'am.
26:37
Speaker 1: As I said earlier, gets cut off by Mace. Did
26:39
Speaker 1: you talk to anyone affiliated with the Clintons regarding your
26:42
Speaker 1: testimony today? Mr. Band, Cheryl Mills is an old friend
26:46
Speaker 1: of mine, and I spoke to her about being asked
26:49
Speaker 1: to come provide this interview And who to select for counsel?
26:52
Speaker 1: Miss Mace. Who is Cheryl Mills? Mr. Band. Cheryl Mills
26:56
Speaker 1: is an old friend of mine who worked in the
26:58
Speaker 1: White House. Mace. Why is she affiliated with the Clintons?
27:02
Speaker 1: Who is she related to the Clintons? How is she
27:04
Speaker 1: affiliated with the Clintons? Band. She worked for the Secretary
27:07
Speaker 1: Clinton at the State Department and I believe is a
27:10
Speaker 1: friend of their advisor. Miss Mace. Is she an attorney? Band.
27:14
Speaker 1: She is. Miss Mace. Does she represent them? Band. I
27:18
Speaker 1: don't know if she represents them or not actually. Miss Mace,
27:21
Speaker 1: did she represent them in Epstein interviews? Mr. Emmer, she did.
27:25
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, so did you know Cheryl Mills represented the
27:28
Speaker 1: Clintons in their Epstein testimony? Were you aware of that? Mr. Band,
27:33
Speaker 1: I saw her. That she was at the testimony, but again,
27:36
Speaker 1: I don't know the relationship. Miss Mace, when did you
27:40
Speaker 1: speak to Cheryl Mills last? Band, I speak to Cheryl.
27:43
Speaker 1: I've spoken to her regularly for 30 years. Mace, is
27:48
Speaker 1: she an intermediary between you and the Clintons? Band, I
27:50
Speaker 1: have no idea. Not that I know of. Miss Mace,
27:53
Speaker 1: have you ever suffered from depression? Mr. Band, no ma'am.
27:56
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, do you have any suicidal ideation? Band, no.
28:00
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, are you happy with your life? Mr. Band,
28:03
Speaker 1: yes ma'am. Mace, okay, all right. How would you characterize
28:07
Speaker 1: your relationship with Maxwell? Mr. Band, we were friends. Miss Mace,
28:11
Speaker 1: how do you define friends? Band, we were socially friends
28:15
Speaker 1: and we spent time together. Mace, did you have any
28:19
Speaker 1: sexual relationship with her? Mr. Band, no ma'am, absolutely not. Never.
28:25
Speaker 1: Question by Mace. Okay, so you don't have a sexual
28:28
Speaker 1: relationship with her. Why would you discuss sexual things with
28:30
Speaker 1: her over email? Mr. Band, as I said again, it
28:34
Speaker 1: was flirtatious, silly banter. Me providing poor attempts at humor
28:38
Speaker 1: and writing dumb emails that were obviously embarrassing to see now.
28:43
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, so are you hung like a horse? Mr. Shapiro.
28:46
Speaker 1: You're not seriously asking that question, Congresswoman. Mr. Green, you
28:50
Speaker 1: don't have to answer that. Mr. Shapiro, you don't have
28:52
Speaker 1: to answer that. You don't need to answer questions about
28:55
Speaker 1: your personal anatomy. Ms. Mace, why would she say you're
28:58
Speaker 1: hung like a horse if you didn't have a sexual
29:00
Speaker 1: relationship with her in an email that she wrote to you?
29:03
Speaker 1: Why would she say that? Mr. Band, you'd have to
29:05
Speaker 1: ask her. I don't know. Nancy Mace, okay. And in
29:09
Speaker 1: an email from you in 2002 from the WJC account,
29:14
Speaker 1: it says you want to spank Bottoms tonight. What was
29:16
Speaker 1: that in reference to? Band, I don't recall that email
29:20
Speaker 1: or sending it at all. Mace, is spanking a fetish
29:23
Speaker 1: of yours or hers? Mr. Green, again, you don't have
29:25
Speaker 1: to answer that. Mace, is this another one where you
29:28
Speaker 1: don't recall? Is it her fetish or yours? Why is
29:31
Speaker 1: that in an email to a sexual predator of kids?
29:34
Speaker 1: All right, in another email in 2002, you wrote to
29:37
Speaker 1: her like, you like naughties. Why would you write that
29:40
Speaker 1: in an email, that you like naughties, if you did
29:43
Speaker 1: not have a sexual relationship with this woman? Band, I
29:46
Speaker 1: don't remember the email, or recall the email. As I said,
29:49
Speaker 1: I did not have a physical, romantic, or any relationship
29:53
Speaker 1: with her, other than a friendship in any way whatsoever, ever. Mace, okay.
29:58
Speaker 1: In an email in 2002, Ghislaine Maxwell wrote to you
30:01
Speaker 1: in reference to organizing a birthday thing. I think we
30:04
Speaker 1: went over this earlier. I don't know if it was
30:06
Speaker 1: your birthday or President Clinton's birthday. It was an email
30:10
Speaker 1: where you talked about earlier Bear Mini. It was a
30:13
Speaker 1: restaurant called Bear Mini. Was that for your birthday or
30:16
Speaker 1: for President Clinton's birthday? Band, I have no idea. Miss Mace,
30:20
Speaker 1: when's your birthday? Mr. Band, October 28th. Miss Mace, when
30:24
Speaker 1: is President Clinton's birthday? Band, August. Miss Mace, this is October.
30:30
Speaker 1: So it was October 13th, 2002. So it must be
30:33
Speaker 1: to organize your birthday. She references a birthday gift. Do
30:36
Speaker 1: you recall what the birthday gift was? Band, I do
30:38
Speaker 1: not recall. Miss Mace, did you receive any gifts from
30:41
Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell? Answer, I don't recall receiving gifts from Glenn Maxwell. Mace,
30:47
Speaker 1: did you receive any gifts from Jeffrey Epstein? Band, no.
30:50
Speaker 1: I don't recall ever receiving any gifts from Jeffrey Epstein. Mace,
30:55
Speaker 1: is it that you don't recall or that it never happened? Mr. Band,
30:59
Speaker 1: as I said, I don't recall receiving any gifts from him.
31:03
Speaker 1: I barely knew Epstein. Miss Mace, did you give Glenn
31:05
Speaker 1: Maxwell any gifts? Banned. Not that I know of. Mace.
31:09
Speaker 1: All right. Okay. How frequently did you communicate with Glenn Maxwell? Banned. Well,
31:15
Speaker 1: I don't know, really. What answer is going to satisfy you?
31:18
Speaker 1: What the right answer is? I mean, I, on sort
31:21
Speaker 1: of an average day, received and sent probably around 500
31:24
Speaker 1: and 1,000 emails. Question, so my question is, how frequently
31:29
Speaker 1: did you communicate with Ghislaine Maxwell? Banned, I don't know. Mace,
31:33
Speaker 1: how much time did you spend with her in person? Banned,
31:36
Speaker 1: I don't know how much time I spent with her
31:37
Speaker 1: in person. Mace, okay, did you request a plane, to
31:41
Speaker 1: use a plane for Maxwell, for the NCAA Finals in 2006? Banned,
31:46
Speaker 1: I don't recall doing that, but in preparation of today,
31:48
Speaker 1: I've read that email. Mace, okay, did you ever have
31:52
Speaker 1: any one-on-one time with her? Meaning, alone time, just the
31:54
Speaker 1: two of you in a room, with nobody else. Banned.
31:57
Speaker 1: I don't recall ever being alone with her. Mace? Okay,
32:01
Speaker 1: that's all I've got for right now. All right, folks,
32:03
Speaker 1: we're going to wrap up right here as well. And
32:05
Speaker 1: in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're going
32:07
Speaker 1: to pick up where we left off. All the information
32:10
Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
32:13
Speaker 1: description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode
32:17
Speaker 1: of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to
32:20
Speaker 1: pick up where we left off with Doug Band and
32:22
Speaker 1: his interview with Congress. Mr. Grant, Mr. Burleson. Mr. Burleson
32:29
Speaker 1: asking the questions now. Mr. Band, who is Mark Middleton? Mr. Band,
32:33
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I don't know who that is. Mr. Burleson,
32:36
Speaker 1: you worked in the White House, correct? Band, yes, sir. Burleson,
32:39
Speaker 1: Mark Clinton. You don't recall a gentleman named Mark Middleton
32:42
Speaker 1: working for the Clintons? Band, I mean, I vaguely remember
32:46
Speaker 1: the name, but I don't know who Mark Middleton is.
32:48
Speaker 1: So even in all this reporting, you haven't heard the
32:51
Speaker 1: name Mark Middleton. When Epstein visited the White House 17 times,
32:55
Speaker 1: Most of those visits were with a Mark Middleton. Band,
32:58
Speaker 1: I don't recall knowing who that is. You know, again,
33:01
Speaker 1: a vague recollection of the name. Burleson, it's not the
33:05
Speaker 1: West Wing. It's not a huge office complex. Shapiro, he
33:08
Speaker 1: wasn't there at the time, as he just testified. Mr. Burleson, Mr. Middleton,
33:13
Speaker 1: and so in your knowledge, in your relationship with the Clintons,
33:16
Speaker 1: the name never came up. Band, I didn't say the
33:18
Speaker 1: name never came up. I just said I don't remember
33:21
Speaker 1: who that is or recall who that was. Mr. Burleson,
33:25
Speaker 1: thank you. I don't have any other questions. Mr. Harnice
33:28
Speaker 1: is once again asking the questions. Question, Mr. Band. In 2005,
33:33
Speaker 1: police in Palm Beach, Florida began investigating Mr. Epstein. In
33:37
Speaker 1: July of 2006, Mr. Epstein was arrested for the first
33:40
Speaker 1: time for soliciting prostitution from minors. When did you first
33:44
Speaker 1: learn of Jeffrey Epstein's 2006 arrest? Answer, I don't recall
33:49
Speaker 1: when I first learned of it. Question, do you know
33:53
Speaker 1: How you might have first learned about this through news reporting? Answer,
33:57
Speaker 1: I don't want to speculate because I don't remember, but
33:59
Speaker 1: I assume through news reporting. But I don't remember anything
34:02
Speaker 1: specific about learning of it. Mr. Grant, and you would
34:06
Speaker 1: have learned of it at the time or somewhere around
34:09
Speaker 1: the time? Band, I don't know. But yeah, I believe
34:11
Speaker 1: it was probably reading news reports, yes. Question, and when
34:16
Speaker 1: did you become aware that Mr. Epstein served jail time
34:19
Speaker 1: beginning in 2008? Answer, I don't recall when I became
34:22
Speaker 1: aware of that. Again, I didn't really have a relationship
34:25
Speaker 1: with him. Question, but you did become aware of his
34:28
Speaker 1: arrest and jail time? Answer, I remember being aware of it.
34:33
Speaker 1: I don't recall when I became aware of it. Question,
34:35
Speaker 1: did you ever discuss the arrest or jail time with Mr.
34:38
Speaker 1: Epstein with anyone at the time? Answer, not that I recall. Grant,
34:43
Speaker 1: do you know who would have made you aware of
34:45
Speaker 1: his arrest and subsequent time incarcerated? Band, as I said, no.
34:50
Speaker 1: I just don't remember when, who, anything. Question, after learning
34:54
Speaker 1: about the initial arrest of Mr. Epstein, did you have
34:57
Speaker 1: any concerns about this? Answer, I don't recall having concerns
35:00
Speaker 1: or not concerns. He wasn't someone that I knew or
35:03
Speaker 1: engaged with frequently. And again, I don't remember whether he
35:06
Speaker 1: was part of a friend of President Clinton or not
35:09
Speaker 1: at that point, but no, I don't remember having any. Question,
35:13
Speaker 1: but you and respectively President Clinton did have a relationship
35:17
Speaker 1: with him. When you learned about this, I'm just asking
35:20
Speaker 1: if you were concerned at all about your relationship and
35:22
Speaker 1: then now this arrest. Did you have any concerns at
35:25
Speaker 1: that time about this? Answer, well, as I said, as
35:29
Speaker 1: it relates to me, I had very limited relationship with him.
35:32
Speaker 1: I don't remember having concerns or not having concerns. Question,
35:36
Speaker 1: when did you find out about the 2008 non-prosecution agreement
35:40
Speaker 1: with Mr. Epstein? Answer, I don't remember. I have no idea.
35:43
Speaker 1: I don't recall when I learned of it. Question, what
35:46
Speaker 1: was your understanding of what Mr. Epstein had admitted to
35:49
Speaker 1: or been convicted of? Answer, I don't remember or recall
35:52
Speaker 1: what he admitted to or had been convicted of. Question,
35:56
Speaker 1: and when did you become aware of Mr. Epstein's status
35:59
Speaker 1: as a sex offender? Answer, I don't remember when. Question, Mr. Bandt,
36:03
Speaker 1: have you ever been contacted by law enforcement entity in
36:06
Speaker 1: regard to Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell? Answer, no. Question,
36:11
Speaker 1: with the benefit of hindsight, were there things that you
36:13
Speaker 1: witnessed or observed about Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell that
36:17
Speaker 1: could have suggested they were trafficking or and sexually abusing
36:20
Speaker 1: young women or girls? Answer, no. Question, did Mr. Epstein
36:24
Speaker 1: or Ms. Maxwell ever attempt to blackmail you? Answer, no. Question,
36:28
Speaker 1: did they ever try to threaten you? Answer, no. Question,
36:31
Speaker 1: so they did not threaten to expose any personal information
36:35
Speaker 1: that you may have had? Answer, no. Question, do you
36:39
Speaker 1: think that Ms. Maxwell was using you in order to
36:41
Speaker 1: get closer to President Clinton or any other member of
36:44
Speaker 1: the Clinton family? Answer, I have no idea. I don't know. Question,
36:48
Speaker 1: looking back now, Do you have any concerns that you
36:51
Speaker 1: thought Ms. Maxwell may have been trying to use your
36:53
Speaker 1: relationship with the Clintons in order to get closer to
36:56
Speaker 1: the family? Answer, as I've said, I don't know. You'd
36:59
Speaker 1: have to ask her. I mean, I don't know. Question,
37:01
Speaker 1: why do you think Ms. Maxwell wanted to get close
37:03
Speaker 1: to you, wanted to build a relationship with you? Answer,
37:07
Speaker 1: I have no idea. Question, in emails, a lot of
37:10
Speaker 1: which we have discussed and looked at today, seems that Ms.
37:13
Speaker 1: Maxwell always wanted to do something or provide something for you.
37:17
Speaker 1: Do you know why this was? Answer, no, I don't. Question,
37:22
Speaker 1: do you think it was just her attempt to get
37:23
Speaker 1: close to a powerful, connected people? Answer, you know, as
37:27
Speaker 1: I said, I don't know. I guess it's possible, sure. Question,
37:30
Speaker 1: throughout the investigation, it seems that Mr. Epstein and Ms.
37:33
Speaker 1: Maxwell would try to exert knowledge of people's personal information
37:37
Speaker 1: in order to curry favor with powerful figures across the globe.
37:41
Speaker 1: Looking back, were there any signs that Ms. Maxwell or Mr.
37:44
Speaker 1: Epstein used your relationship in order to curry favor with
37:48
Speaker 1: with powerful figures that you knew? Answer, no. Question, I
37:53
Speaker 1: just want to jump back to the 2002 Africa trip.
37:56
Speaker 1: It's reported that Redacted gave President Clinton a neck massage.
38:00
Speaker 1: Do you recall this? Answer, no, I do not. Question,
38:03
Speaker 1: so you had no knowledge at the time of President
38:06
Speaker 1: Clinton receiving a massage from Redacted? Answer, no. Question, have
38:11
Speaker 1: you ever seen the photo of Redacted providing President Clinton
38:14
Speaker 1: the massage? Answer, I've seen the photo as it came
38:17
Speaker 1: out recently or in the last year or two. Question,
38:20
Speaker 1: outside of preparation for this interview, when was the last
38:23
Speaker 1: time you saw the photo? Answer, when it became public. Question,
38:27
Speaker 1: and you did not receive any massage on this trip
38:29
Speaker 1: in 2002? Answer, I didn't receive any massage on this
38:33
Speaker 1: trip or ever. Mace, so you've never received a massage
38:36
Speaker 1: before ever in your life? Band, I've had one massage.
38:39
Speaker 1: It was a couple's massage with my wife that I recall.
38:41
Speaker 1: That's it. Mace, were you familiar with any of the
38:45
Speaker 1: massage therapists that were hired or used to travel with
38:49
Speaker 1: or hung out with Ghislaine Maxwell or Jeffrey Epstein? Mr. Ben,
38:52
Speaker 1: no ma'am. Mr. Harnice, asking the questions now. Question, I
38:57
Speaker 1: know that I've asked you about the Vanity Fair article
39:00
Speaker 1: where it stated that you had bad vibes from the trip.
39:02
Speaker 1: Was Ron Burkle on the trip to Africa? Answer, no. Question,
39:06
Speaker 1: was he not on this trip? Answer, not that I recall, no. Question,
39:10
Speaker 1: we have flight logs showing that Mr. Burkle... was on
39:13
Speaker 1: that 2002 trip to Africa. Did you not interact with Mr. Burkle? Answer,
39:18
Speaker 1: I just don't. As I said earlier, I don't recall
39:21
Speaker 1: the trip. I don't recall him being there. Question, Mr.
39:23
Speaker 1: Burkle had a pretty bad experience. He caught a pretty
39:27
Speaker 1: bad vibe as well, as you call it, or as
39:29
Speaker 1: you stated to Vanity Fair but you have no knowledge Mr.
39:32
Speaker 1: Burkle ever having a creepy or odd feeling about Mr.
39:35
Speaker 1: Epstein answer not that I recall no Mr. Grant did
39:39
Speaker 1: you discuss Mr. Epstein with Mr. Burkle at any point Mr.
39:43
Speaker 1: Band no not that I I don't recall discussing it
39:46
Speaker 1: with him possible but I don't remember it Grant And
39:50
Speaker 1: same question for Ms. Maxwell. Did you discuss Ms. Maxwell
39:53
Speaker 1: with Mr. Burkle at any point? Mr. Band again, it's possible,
39:57
Speaker 1: but I don't recall discussing it, no. Mr. Harness, question
40:02
Speaker 1: jumping around. Did Ms. Maxwell ever offer to lend you
40:05
Speaker 1: a private plane or any private aircraft that she owned
40:09
Speaker 1: for you to watch the 2006 NCAA men's basketball finals? Answer,
40:14
Speaker 1: I don't remember the specifics of that in preparation for today.
40:18
Speaker 1: I recall reading the email where there was back and forth,
40:21
Speaker 1: and I was asking her to charter a plane, and
40:23
Speaker 1: she offered again, as best as I can recall, without
40:26
Speaker 1: looking at the email, and I said something to the
40:28
Speaker 1: effect that if I can't pay for it, then I'm
40:30
Speaker 1: not going to take it, which I didn't. Question, so
40:33
Speaker 1: you declined Ms. Maxwell's offer? Answer, based on those emails
40:37
Speaker 1: that I've read in preparation for today, yes, I declined
40:39
Speaker 1: her offer, and I did not take the plane. Question,
40:43
Speaker 1: why do you think Ms. Maxwell offered you this plane? Answer,
40:46
Speaker 1: I don't know. You'd have to ask Ms. Maxwell. Emmer,
40:49
Speaker 1: did you recall receiving any other offers to fly on Mr.
40:52
Speaker 1: Epstein's plane? Banned, again, it's possible, but I don't recall any, no. Question,
40:59
Speaker 1: did you have any role in the White House Historical
41:01
Speaker 1: Association during your time in the Clinton administration? Answer, no,
41:05
Speaker 1: I don't believe so. Question, so you did not attend
41:08
Speaker 1: any White House Historical Association events? Answer, I wouldn't have
41:12
Speaker 1: attended any on my own or been part of them
41:14
Speaker 1: on my own. I was a staffer. If President Clinton
41:18
Speaker 1: went to something and I accompanied him, staffing him, then
41:21
Speaker 1: I guess it's possible. But I don't recall anything or
41:25
Speaker 1: having any involvement with them whatsoever. I don't even know
41:28
Speaker 1: where they are housed or operate or anything. Question, were
41:32
Speaker 1: you aware of Mr. Epstein's $ 10, 000 donation to the White
41:35
Speaker 1: House Historical Association? Answer, no. Question, touching a little bit
41:41
Speaker 1: on the Clinton Global Initiative, when did you cease employment
41:44
Speaker 1: at the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer, well, I never worked
41:47
Speaker 1: for the Clinton Global Initiative. I worked for President Clinton
41:50
Speaker 1: in his personal office. The Clinton Global Initiative was one
41:54
Speaker 1: of the things. And as I said, my best recollection
41:57
Speaker 1: is that I left in the first half of 2012.
42:00
Speaker 1: Question 2012. So how many Clinton Global Initiative conferences would
42:04
Speaker 1: you say that you attended during this time of work? Answer,
42:08
Speaker 1: you know, I don't remember all of them. I guess
42:11
Speaker 1: if it started in 2005 and then ended in 2012,
42:12
Speaker 1: I went to all of those. And it's possible I
42:16
Speaker 1: went after. Mr. Shapiro, you left in 2012. Band left entirely. Mr. Shapiro,
42:22
Speaker 1: it didn't end. Mr. Band, correct. Sorry. I left in 2012.
42:26
Speaker 1: CGI kept going. I may have attended one or two afterward.
42:30
Speaker 1: I don't really remember. Question. I believe my colleague in
42:33
Speaker 1: the previous hour touched upon Ms. Maxwell's involvement with CGI
42:38
Speaker 1: and the Clinton Foundation. Is that correct? Did you take
42:40
Speaker 1: part in any budget discussion with Ms. Maxwell regarding the
42:44
Speaker 1: Clinton Foundation or CGI? Answer, no, not that I recall. Question,
42:49
Speaker 1: are you aware of any donation made to the Clinton
42:51
Speaker 1: Foundation or CGI from Ms. Maxwell or Mr. Epstein? Answer,
42:57
Speaker 1: you know, again, I wasn't aware of it at the time,
42:59
Speaker 1: but in preparation today, having seen the emails, it seems
43:02
Speaker 1: as though she was. I don't recall having anything to
43:05
Speaker 1: do with her being a part of it at all. Question,
43:07
Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell ever have a close relationship with anybody
43:10
Speaker 1: else inside the Clinton Foundation or the Clinton Global Initiative? Mr. Shapiro,
43:16
Speaker 1: other than Mr. Band, you mean? Mr. Harness, other than Mr. Band?
43:20
Speaker 1: Doug Band, I don't know. I mean, she could have
43:21
Speaker 1: had relationships with lots of people. I don't know. Question,
43:25
Speaker 1: so you never had a conversation with other Clinton Foundation staffers,
43:31
Speaker 1: anybody working at CGI, about Ms. Maxwell? Mr. Band, I
43:34
Speaker 1: don't recall having conversations. It's certainly possible. I just don't
43:38
Speaker 1: recall having them. Question, so Mr. Band? I just want
43:43
Speaker 1: to make sure I have the timeline that's clear for
43:45
Speaker 1: the record. I believe in your opening statement, you mentioned
43:47
Speaker 1: you sent a memo or a notice throughout the Clinton world,
43:51
Speaker 1: basically to cease their connections with Ms. Maxwell. Is that correct? Answer.
43:55
Speaker 1: I sent the email to senior members of the staff
43:58
Speaker 1: to remove her from all contact lists, which was an
44:00
Speaker 1: attempt to remove her from President Clinton's world entirely. Yes. Question.
44:05
Speaker 1: And that was in 2011. Answer. Yes, sir. question and
44:08
Speaker 1: then you subsequently stopped working for President Clinton by extension
44:12
Speaker 1: of that the foundation and CGI in 2012 you said
44:17
Speaker 1: answer sometime in 2012 again just to be clear I
44:20
Speaker 1: never worked for CGI question understood and are you aware
44:24
Speaker 1: that Miss Maxwell attended a CGI event and was honored
44:27
Speaker 1: in 2013 answer I'm only aware of it as it
44:31
Speaker 1: relates to having seen the reporting on it some point
44:34
Speaker 1: in the past few years Question, you were not aware
44:38
Speaker 1: of that in 2013? Answer, I did not work there
44:41
Speaker 1: in 2013. Question, you didn't keep up with CGI and
44:44
Speaker 1: the work that you had helped start? Answer, no. Question,
44:49
Speaker 1: does this concern you now looking back that she was
44:51
Speaker 1: able to recognize or be recognized at a CGI event
44:54
Speaker 1: in 2013 after you had tried to remove her from
44:57
Speaker 1: the Clinton orbit? Answer, well again, all I can tell
45:00
Speaker 1: you is that I took the step to write an
45:01
Speaker 1: email to have her removed from all the lists and
45:04
Speaker 1: therefore removed from the Clinton world. What happened after that
45:07
Speaker 1: is not, I didn't have anything to do with it.
45:09
Speaker 1: So I don't know. Question understood. But I mean, it's
45:13
Speaker 1: a big step to take to remove somebody from the
45:15
Speaker 1: Clinton orbit and have them not be involved anymore. This
45:18
Speaker 1: was work that I would say you were intimately involved with.
45:21
Speaker 1: So knowing that, what you know now, looking back, that
45:24
Speaker 1: she was honored in 2013, is that not disturbing to you? Answer,
45:28
Speaker 1: you know, again, all of their activities are incredibly disturbing
45:32
Speaker 1: and horrific and evil to me. But I, again, I
45:34
Speaker 1: left in 2012. So her involvement in what was going
45:37
Speaker 1: on then and what decisions they made, I wasn't part of.
45:41
Speaker 1: I didn't have anything to do with it. So I
45:43
Speaker 1: really don't know. Mr. Shapiro, just for the clarity of
45:47
Speaker 1: the record, I think you used they and their in
45:49
Speaker 1: two different ways. All of their behavior was evil. The
45:53
Speaker 1: there in the sentence was banned. Epstein and Maxwell. Shapiro, okay. Banned. Sorry.
45:59
Speaker 1: Thank you, counselor. Question. Do you have any knowledge of Ms.
46:03
Speaker 1: Maxwell or Mr. Epstein? ever sending a gift to President Clinton? Answer,
46:07
Speaker 1: I don't have any knowledge or recall them ever doing that. Again,
46:10
Speaker 1: it's possible. I just don't remember. All right, folks, we're
46:13
Speaker 1: going to wrap up right here. And in the next
46:14
Speaker 1: episode dealing with the topic, we're going to pick up
46:16
Speaker 1: where we left off. All the information that goes with
46:19
Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box. What's up, everyone?
46:24
Speaker 1: And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In
46:28
Speaker 1: this episode, we're going to pick up where we left
46:30
Speaker 1: off with Doug Band and his interview with Congress. Question,
46:34
Speaker 1: I'll admit to you that there is an email between
46:36
Speaker 1: you and Ms. Maxwell. Ms. Maxwell is speaking to you
46:40
Speaker 1: about sending, quote, devil slippers to President Clinton. Were you
46:44
Speaker 1: aware of her ever sending any gift at that time
46:47
Speaker 1: to President Clinton? Answer, no. I don't recall that ever happening. Again,
46:51
Speaker 1: it's possible. People can do things that have nothing to
46:55
Speaker 1: do with me, but I don't recall that ever happening. Question, Mr. Band.
46:59
Speaker 1: It was on the Moroccan trip with Epstein. There is
47:02
Speaker 1: a famous photo of President Clinton in a swimming pool.
47:05
Speaker 1: Do you recall this at all on this trip, President
47:08
Speaker 1: Clinton sitting in a hot tub with a woman whose
47:10
Speaker 1: face is redacted? Answer, I do not recall that at all.
47:14
Speaker 1: I saw the photo when it was released publicly earlier
47:17
Speaker 1: this year the first time. Question, did you know who
47:21
Speaker 1: any of the women or women were in any of
47:23
Speaker 1: the photographs? Were the women traveling on that trip? Answer,
47:27
Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't know. Mr. Harness, Harness.
47:31
Speaker 1: You don't know if there was any other women outside
47:33
Speaker 1: of those listed on the flight log that were also
47:36
Speaker 1: on the Moroccan trip or in the pool or the
47:38
Speaker 1: hot tub? Band, I don't recall that trip really. Other
47:42
Speaker 1: than you're asking about the wedding, which I recall a
47:44
Speaker 1: little bit vaguely. But no, I don't have any idea. Mr. Grant,
47:50
Speaker 1: and just so the record's clear, you don't recall the
47:52
Speaker 1: photograph being taken at the time? Mr. Band, no sir,
47:57
Speaker 1: I wasn't there. I have no idea. The first time
47:59
Speaker 1: I saw it was probably when you did. Mr. Harness,
48:03
Speaker 1: outside of the flight logs, are there any other flights
48:05
Speaker 1: on any other private aircraft that you took with Mr.
48:08
Speaker 1: Epstein or Ms. Maxwell? Band, no, not that I recall. Mr. Harness,
48:12
Speaker 1: we'll go off the record. Question, all right, we'll go
48:15
Speaker 1: back on. Redacted asking the questions now. Mr. Band, I
48:20
Speaker 1: just have a few remaining questions for you. During the
48:22
Speaker 1: time that you knew Mr. Epstein, what was your understanding
48:25
Speaker 1: of his relationship with Donald Trump, now President Trump? Answer again.
48:30
Speaker 1: I had very limited interaction with them, and I didn't
48:33
Speaker 1: really know them. I don't know of any interaction or
48:35
Speaker 1: relationship with President Trump. Question, did Mr. Epstein ever discuss
48:39
Speaker 1: Donald Trump with you? Answer, no, not that I can recall. Question,
48:44
Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell ever discuss Donald Trump with you? Answer, no,
48:47
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question, did you ever discuss a
48:50
Speaker 1: relationship of Jeffrey Epstein and President Trump with President Clinton? Answer, no,
48:56
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question, now it's our understanding... that
49:00
Speaker 1: President Clinton once spoke to President Trump about Jeffrey Epstein
49:03
Speaker 1: during a charity golf tournament at a golf course in
49:06
Speaker 1: New York. The tournament benefited a foundation that Joe Torre
49:10
Speaker 1: was affiliated with. We don't have the exact date of
49:14
Speaker 1: this golf outing, but President Clinton explained that it may
49:16
Speaker 1: have occurred in 2002 or 2003. It's possible it occurred
49:22
Speaker 1: later than that. Do you have any knowledge of this conversation? Answer, no,
49:26
Speaker 1: I do not. Question, did President Clinton ever speak to
49:31
Speaker 1: you about Donald Trump? Answer, generally. Question, generally. Answer, I
49:35
Speaker 1: don't recall anything specific. I recall the president way before
49:39
Speaker 1: he was president asking President Clinton to join his Trump
49:42
Speaker 1: Westchester Golf Club. And I recall him, President Trump, about attending.
49:48
Speaker 1: There was some talk about him attending Chelsea's wedding. And
49:52
Speaker 1: I said, that's up to, it's all Chelsea, over to
49:54
Speaker 1: Chelsea kind of thing. That's all I recall. But they
49:58
Speaker 1: weren't really real conversations or anything serious. Question. When he
50:02
Speaker 1: was in front of the committee earlier this year, President
50:05
Speaker 1: Clinton mentioned that President Trump may have told him that
50:08
Speaker 1: he and Epstein, quote, had some great times together. Do
50:11
Speaker 1: you have any idea of what President Trump may have
50:13
Speaker 1: meant by that? Answer, I don't know. Anything about that
50:16
Speaker 1: conversation or anything? I don't know. Question, and you touched
50:20
Speaker 1: on this a bit earlier. Have you ever met President Trump? Answer,
50:24
Speaker 1: you know, I've shaken his hand briefly at some sort
50:26
Speaker 1: of golf course, at the golf course type thing, but no,
50:30
Speaker 1: I don't really know him. Question, which golf course was that? Answer, Trump-Westchester,
50:35
Speaker 1: the one I was referring to earlier. Question, and was
50:38
Speaker 1: President Clinton present for that? Answer, I recall him being there, yes. Question,
50:43
Speaker 1: and do you recall approximately when this occurred? Answer, early 2000s,
50:47
Speaker 1: I believe. But again, I really don't know or remember
50:50
Speaker 1: right now. Mr. Shapiro jumps in, post-presidency. Doug Band, post-presidency. Redacted,
50:57
Speaker 1: and do you recall President Clinton having a conversation with
51:00
Speaker 1: President Trump of any kind during that interaction? Mr. Band, no,
51:04
Speaker 1: I don't recall. I mean, again, I don't know if
51:07
Speaker 1: they played golf or if he was there at the
51:09
Speaker 1: golf club. Would they have had conversations? Certainly possible. I
51:12
Speaker 1: just don't remember them having any. Question, all right, Mr. Band.
51:16
Speaker 1: Thank you for your time. We'll go off the record. Mr. Harness,
51:19
Speaker 1: we'll go back on the record. Question, Mr. Band. I'm
51:22
Speaker 1: going to ask some baseline questions regarding who you communicated
51:25
Speaker 1: with and about what. If you don't recall specifics, but
51:28
Speaker 1: you do recall who you communicated with, you should answer yes,
51:32
Speaker 1: but say you don't recall specifics. I'm going to run
51:35
Speaker 1: through the list. For now, you can just say yes
51:37
Speaker 1: or no to the question. Have you ever communicated with
51:41
Speaker 1: any of the following people regarding Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell?
51:46
Speaker 1: Bill Clinton. Answer, yes. Secretary Hillary Clinton. Answer, I don't
51:51
Speaker 1: recall ever. No. Question, Richard Kahn. Mr. Grant, can we
51:55
Speaker 1: go back? For Secretary Clinton, you said, I don't recall,
51:58
Speaker 1: but no. Is that a yes or a no? Band,
52:00
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Could I have talked about it? I don't
52:04
Speaker 1: remember talking to her about it. About them, it's possible. Shapiro,
52:07
Speaker 1: so it's fair to say you don't think you did. Banned, correct. Shapiro,
52:11
Speaker 1: but you're not ruling it out. Banned, right. Question, Richard Kahn. Answer, no.
52:18
Speaker 1: Darren Indyke. Answer, no. Sarah Kellan. Answer, no. Question, Cheryl Mills. Answer,
52:23
Speaker 1: have I talked to Cheryl about again? I don't want
52:25
Speaker 1: to say no. I could have certainly talked to her
52:27
Speaker 1: about them over the time, certainly in preparation for a
52:30
Speaker 1: selection of counsel. As I said earlier, it's possible. Question,
52:34
Speaker 1: Huma Abedin. Answer, I don't recall any specific conversations with
52:38
Speaker 1: Huma about them, but certainly it's possible. Question, Noam Chomsky. Answer, no. Question,
52:43
Speaker 1: Leslie Groff. Answer, no. Question, Redacted. Answer, no. Question, Jean-Luc Brunel. Answer, no. Question,
52:50
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz. Answer, no. Question, Reid Hoffman. Answer, no. Question,
52:55
Speaker 1: Karina Shulak. Answer, no. Question, Woody Allen. Answer, no. Question,
53:00
Speaker 1: Sandy Berger. Answer, no. Question, Jess Daly. Answer, no. Question
53:04
Speaker 1: Paul Morris. Answer, no. Question Justin Nelson. Answer, no. Question
53:09
Speaker 1: Eli DeRothschild. Answer, no. Question Ariane DeRothschild. Answer, no. Question
53:15
Speaker 1: Lynn Forrester DeRothschild. Answer, not that I recall. Again, it's
53:19
Speaker 1: possible I could have talked to her about them, but
53:22
Speaker 1: I don't remember having any conversations. Question any other member
53:25
Speaker 1: of the Rothschild family. Answer, I don't know any of
53:28
Speaker 1: those people. Question Glenn Dubin. Answer, no. Question Eva Anderson Dubin. Answer, no.
53:34
Speaker 1: Question Casey Wasserman. Mr. Shapiro, did you answer Eva Anderson Dubin?
53:38
Speaker 1: You said no. Banned. Yeah, I said no. Sorry. Shapiro,
53:42
Speaker 1: thank you. Banned. Again, I don't recall any specific conversations,
53:46
Speaker 1: but it's possible. Question Frederick Fakai. Answer no. Larry Vazosky.
53:51
Speaker 1: Answer no. Question pilot for Mr. Epstein. David Rogers. Answer
53:55
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I don't know who most of these people are,
53:57
Speaker 1: but I'm just saying no. Question no to David Rogers.
54:01
Speaker 1: Answer correct. No. Question Ira Magaziner. Answer, Ira worked in
54:05
Speaker 1: the foundation. I don't recall ever having conversations with him,
54:08
Speaker 1: but it's possible. Question Daniel Gilbert. Answer, no. Question Karen Ewing. Answer, no.
54:14
Speaker 1: Question Stacey Plaskett. Answer, inaudible. The reporter is at a no. Band, no. Sorry, no. Band,
54:22
Speaker 1: I don't know who these people are. Shapiro, Stacey Plaskett. Band, no. Sorry.
54:26
Speaker 1: Question Steve Bannon. No. Question David Gergen. Answer, no. Question
54:30
Speaker 1: Louis Freeh. Answer, no. Question Robert Rubin, answer no. Question
54:35
Speaker 1: Larry Summers, answer no. Question Pete Rathgeb, answer no. Question
54:42
Speaker 1: John Podesta, answer no, not that I recall. But again,
54:45
Speaker 1: John and I are old friends, it's possible. I don't
54:47
Speaker 1: remember anything. Question Andrew Friendly, answer no. Kathy Rumler, answer no.
54:52
Speaker 1: Mark Middleton, answer no. Bill Richardson, answer no. Senator George Mitchell,
54:58
Speaker 1: answer no. Leslie Wexner, answer no. Bill Gates, answer no.
55:02
Speaker 1: Leon Black, answer no. David Copperfield, answer no. David Blaine,
55:07
Speaker 1: answer no. Ehud Barak, answer no. Tony Blair, answer no.
55:13
Speaker 1: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, answer no. Peter Mandelson, answer no. Mohammed bin Salman,
55:19
Speaker 1: answer no. Sultan Ahmed bin Salman, answer no. Abigail Johnson,
55:24
Speaker 1: answer no. Jeff Bezos, answer no. Larry Page, answer no.
55:29
Speaker 1: Sergey Brin, answer no. Eric Schmidt, answer no. Ron Barron,
55:34
Speaker 1: answer no. Tasha Alvarez, answer Tasha was on, was a
55:39
Speaker 1: staff member. It's possible we talked about it at some point.
55:42
Speaker 1: I don't recall anything specific. Question, any other staffers of
55:46
Speaker 1: the Clinton Foundation? Answer, any other staffers that I recall
55:50
Speaker 1: speaking with about Epstein? Well, again, just due to the
55:52
Speaker 1: nature of the involvement of travel and those kinds of things,
55:56
Speaker 1: it's certainly possible that I talked to people in the
55:58
Speaker 1: Clinton Foundation. I mean, in the Clinton staff, I don't remember. Question,
56:02
Speaker 1: who would that be? Answer, it would be a lot
56:03
Speaker 1: of people. Again, people have their own independent relationships. Mr. Shapiro,
56:08
Speaker 1: who handled the travel? Band, yeah, people who handled travel,
56:11
Speaker 1: people in the foundation, people that were trying to become
56:14
Speaker 1: friends with them to seek support, people that traveled, I
56:17
Speaker 1: don't know. And if I can, I'm sorry, the Tony
56:19
Speaker 1: Blair one, I don't remember having any specific conversation with
56:23
Speaker 1: Prime Minister Blair, but it's possible. I don't think I did,
56:26
Speaker 1: but I just want to be super clear. Mr. Harnise,
56:31
Speaker 1: you stated yes to the original question saying, have you
56:34
Speaker 1: ever communicated with any of the following? You said yes
56:37
Speaker 1: to President Clinton. Can you expand upon that communication with
56:41
Speaker 1: President Clinton? Banned. I don't remember any specific conversation. I
56:46
Speaker 1: was just trying to be responsive. I mean, given they
56:48
Speaker 1: were traveling and stuff and just giving him documents or
56:51
Speaker 1: telling him whose plane we were on or telling him
56:54
Speaker 1: that he was doing, we certainly had communications about it,
56:58
Speaker 1: but I believe we did. I don't remember anything specific. Mr. Emmer,
57:02
Speaker 1: during the previous hour, you mentioned having conversations with Cheryl Mills.
57:06
Speaker 1: Is that right? Answer, yes. Question, and that was related
57:09
Speaker 1: to this committee's investigation. Is that correct? Answer again. Cheryl
57:13
Speaker 1: and I are old close friends. I talk to her
57:15
Speaker 1: regularly about a lot of things. After I was asked
57:18
Speaker 1: to come provide a voluntary interview, I spoke with her
57:20
Speaker 1: about that and about who to use as counsel, that
57:23
Speaker 1: sort of thing. Question, but prior to the committee's letter,
57:26
Speaker 1: did you have any discussion with Cheryl Mills as it
57:29
Speaker 1: relates to Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell? Answer, none that
57:32
Speaker 1: I recall. Question, did you, and I believe you were
57:36
Speaker 1: asked this in a previous hour, but for the record,
57:38
Speaker 1: did you discuss this transcribed interview with anyone besides your counsel?
57:43
Speaker 1: Answer again, I'm just trying to be careful in answering
57:45
Speaker 1: that question. I talked to friends, some friends of mine,
57:48
Speaker 1: who asked me questions about it. I tried not to
57:51
Speaker 1: talk about it or have any discussions, but for a
57:53
Speaker 1: few folks here and there, we were just talking about
57:55
Speaker 1: the appearance, but nothing substantive or anything like that. Question
58:00
Speaker 1: you answered, it's possible that you had a conversation with
58:03
Speaker 1: Lynn Forrester Dorothchild. Is that right? Answer, well, I don't
58:07
Speaker 1: recall any or remember having any conversations with her, and
58:11
Speaker 1: I wasn't particularly close to her. but I'd just given
58:13
Speaker 1: her proximity to London and her friendship with them, and
58:17
Speaker 1: the Clintons, it's possible. Question, did you understand Ms. Rothschild
58:21
Speaker 1: to have a relationship with Epstein or Maxwell? Answer, I
58:24
Speaker 1: did not know whether she did or didn't. I just
58:27
Speaker 1: know she was friends with the President and Secretary Clinton. Question,
58:30
Speaker 1: you also said that it was possible that you may
58:32
Speaker 1: have had a conversation with Ira Magaziner. Do you understand
58:36
Speaker 1: him to have a relationship with Epstein or Maxwell? Answer again,
58:40
Speaker 1: It's just the same answer as Tasha. He worked, he
58:43
Speaker 1: ran several initiatives for a president. They were all friends.
58:46
Speaker 1: I don't know, college, law school. And so I'm just
58:49
Speaker 1: making sure that I'm being responsive to the question and
58:52
Speaker 1: saying it's possible. I don't recall anything, but it's certainly possible.
58:56
Speaker 1: And also, and I'm sorry to interrupt, but in preparation
58:59
Speaker 1: for today and just seeing emails, I know there were
59:02
Speaker 1: things sent back and forth between him and them. So
59:04
Speaker 1: it's certainly possible. Finally, same question as it relates to
59:08
Speaker 1: John Podesta. Did you have any understanding of him having
59:11
Speaker 1: a relationship with epstein or maxwell answer no i didn't
59:15
Speaker 1: again john's a mentor and a longtime friend former law
59:19
Speaker 1: school professor boss colleague friend at my wedding those kinds
59:22
Speaker 1: of things and so i just saying that it's possible
59:26
Speaker 1: i don't recall anything Question, is it possible that he
59:30
Speaker 1: would have been, he would have expressed concerns about the
59:32
Speaker 1: former president having any sort of relationship with Epstein and Maxwell? Answer,
59:37
Speaker 1: I don't recall him having any of those concerns or
59:39
Speaker 1: conversations at all. Question, Grant, and one more. You also
59:44
Speaker 1: said you couldn't recall, but it was possible to Casey Wasserman.
59:48
Speaker 1: Is it possible that Mr. Wasserman had a connection or
59:51
Speaker 1: relationship to Epstein or Maxwell? Ban, no, again, I don't
59:54
Speaker 1: remember anything specific or recall conversations. You know, he traveled.
59:58
Speaker 1: I remember him traveling at some point. Again, in preparation
1:00:01
Speaker 1: for today, sort of reviewing stuff and seeing that he
1:00:04
Speaker 1: was on one or two of the humanitarian trips. He
1:00:07
Speaker 1: was also a very significant supporter of President Clinton's work.
1:00:11
Speaker 1: So I was just saying that it's possible. Mr. Harness, question.
1:00:16
Speaker 1: Outside of the list of people that we've already named
1:00:18
Speaker 1: and asked if you had any conversations or communications with
1:00:21
Speaker 1: about Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell... Is there anyone else
1:00:25
Speaker 1: that we did not list you had a conversation with
1:00:28
Speaker 1: about Ms. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell? Answer, no. Not that
1:00:31
Speaker 1: I recall. Question. Do you have any non-disclosure agreements? Answer, no. Question.
1:00:36
Speaker 1: So you don't have any NDAs with any women? Answer, no, sir. Question.
1:00:41
Speaker 1: Do you have any men that have NDAs with women? Answer, no.
1:00:46
Speaker 1: I don't have any first-hand knowledge or anything other than, again,
1:00:49
Speaker 1: reading about some of the stuff. Question. Question. but you
1:00:52
Speaker 1: don't have any knowledge of any person having an NDA
1:00:54
Speaker 1: with a woman or young female that has a connection
1:00:57
Speaker 1: with Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell? Answer, no. Emmer, our
1:01:01
Speaker 1: questioning is coming to an end. As a general question,
1:01:04
Speaker 1: is there anything that we have not asked you that
1:01:07
Speaker 1: you believe is relevant to this committee's investigation? Answer, no,
1:01:11
Speaker 1: nothing that I can think of. Mr. Harnice, we'll go
1:01:14
Speaker 1: off the record. All right, so that is the Doug
1:01:17
Speaker 1: Band testimony, the transcripts in their entirety. And as we're
1:01:21
Speaker 1: waiting for the Catherine Rumler transcripts to hit, we're going
1:01:24
Speaker 1: to be diving into a deposition that Jeffrey Epstein gave
1:01:27
Speaker 1: to the SEC when he was under investigation for his bullshit.
1:01:32
Speaker 1: But until then, that's going to do it for this one.
1:01:35
Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
1:01:37
Speaker 1: found in the description box.
