Welcome to Kid Cast Daily, where we bring news, trivia, fun
• 0:04
facts, and more just for curious kids like you.
• 0:07
Today we're tuning into the world of music, but not just any
• 0:11
music, we're talking about something millions of kids know
• 0:14
and love, Kidz Bop. Have you ever heard a song on
• 0:17
the radio and thought, wow, I wish there was a version of this
• 0:21
just for kids? Well, that's exactly what Kidz
• 0:24
Bop is all about. So grab your headphones, get
• 0:27
comfy, and let's dive into the fun and fascinating story of
• 0:31
kids bop together. First, let's imagine music as a
• 0:34
giant playground. On this playground, there are
• 0:37
all sorts of songs, pop songs, rock songs, dance songs, and
• 0:41
even songs that make you want to sing at the top of your lungs.
• 0:44
But not all the songs on this playground are safe or friendly
• 0:47
for kids. Some might have words or topics
• 0:50
that aren't really meant for young ears.
• 0:52
That's where Kidz Bop comes in, like a group of super cool
• 0:55
playground monitors making sure everyone can have fun safely.
• 0:59
Kidz Bop is a music brand that takes popular songs you might
• 1:02
hear on the radio and re records them with kid singers.
• 1:05
But here's the twist, they change any words or lyrics that
• 1:08
might not be suitable for kids, swapping them out for kid
• 1:11
friendly words. It's kind of like when you play
• 1:14
a game and make up your own rules so everyone can join in
• 1:17
and have fun. Kidz Bop makes sure the songs
• 1:19
you love are fun, safe, and easy to sing along with no matter how
• 1:23
old you are. So how did Kidz Bop get started?
• 1:26
Let's rewind to the year 2001. Back then, two parents named
• 1:31
Cliff and Craig were listening to music with their own kids.
• 1:34
They noticed that their children loved singing along to the same
• 1:37
songs they heard on the radio, but some of the lyrics weren't
• 1:40
very kid friendly. That gave them an idea.
• 1:43
What if there was an album of today's biggest hits, but sung
• 1:46
by kids, for kids? And just like that, Kidz Bop was
• 1:50
born. The very first Kidz Bop album
• 1:52
came out in 2001, and it was a big hit.
• 1:55
Kids everywhere loved hearing voices that sounded just like
• 1:59
  their singing their favorite songs.
• 2:01
Since then, Kidz Bop has released over 40 albums and sold
• 2:04
millions of copies all over the world.
• 2:06
That's a lot of music. In fact, Kidz Bop albums have
• 2:10
gone platinum, which means they've sold more than 1,000,000
• 2:13
copies each. That's like filling up a huge
• 2:15
stadium with Kidz Bop fans and then filling it up again and
• 2:18
again. Now, you might be wondering, who
• 2:21
are the kids behind Kidz Bop? Well, Kidz Bop has its very own
• 2:25
group of talented young singers called the Kidz Bop Kids.
• 2:29
These kids come from all over the United States, and sometimes
• 2:32
from other countries too. They audition to become part of
• 2:35
the group, showing off their singing, dancing, and even
• 2:38
acting skills. Once they're chosen, they get to
• 2:41
record songs, perform in concerts, and even star in Kidz
• 2:45
Bop music videos. It's like being in a real life
• 2:48
band, but just for kids. Being a Kidz Bop Kid is a lot of
• 2:51
fun, but it's also a lot of hard work.
• 2:54
They practice for hours, learning new songs, dance moves,
• 2:58
and even how to work together as a team.
• 3:00
But they also get to travel, make new friends, and inspire
• 3:04
other kids to get up and dance. Some Kidz Bop Kids have even
• 3:07
gone on to become famous singers and actors when they grow up.
• 3:11
So if you love to sing and dance, maybe you could be a Kidz
• 3:14
Bop kid one day too. Let's take a peek behind the
• 3:17
scenes when Kidz Bop decides to make a new album.
• 3:20
They pick the most popular songs from the charts, the ones
• 3:23
everyone's humming at school, at parties, or in the car.
• 3:27
Then a special team of grown-ups and writers listens carefully to
• 3:30
each song and changes any words that might not be right for
• 3:33
kids. For example, if a song has a
• 3:36
word about something too grown up or a topic that's not for
• 3:39
kids, they'll swap it out for something silly, creative, or
• 3:43
just plain fun. Here's a cool example.
• 3:46
Imagine a song talks about driving my car late at night.
• 3:49
Kidz Bop might change the words to riding my bike in the park
• 3:52
because, well, kids don't drive cars, but they do love riding
• 3:56
bikes. This way, the song still sounds
• 3:58
great and makes sense, but it's perfect for kids to sing along
• 4:02
to. Did you know that Kidz Bop
• 4:04
albums are made in super high tech music studios?
• 4:07
The Kidz Bop Kids wear headphones, stand in front of
• 4:10
big microphones, and sing their hearts out while music producers
• 4:13
help them sound their very best. And when all the singing is
• 4:16
done, music engineers mix all the voices and music together,
• 4:20
like mixing ingredients in a baking recipe until the song
• 4:23
sounds just right. But Kidz Bop isn't just about
• 4:26
singing in a studio. The Kidz Bop Kids also go on
• 4:29
tour. That means they travel to
• 4:31
different cities and put on concerts for thousands of fans.
• 4:34
At these concerts, kids and families get to dance, sing, and
• 4:38
have a blast together. The stage is filled with
• 4:40
colorful lights, cool costumes, and even some fun dance
• 4:44
routines. It's like a giant dance party
• 4:46
just for kids. And guess what?
• 4:49
Kidz Bop has its own YouTube channel and website too.
• 4:52
If you visit, you can watch music videos, behind the scenes
• 4:55
clips, and even learn new dance moves from the Kidz Bop Kids
• 4:59
themselves. They also have fun challenges,
• 5:01
games, and contests where you can win cool prizes or even get
• 5:05
a shout out from the Kidz Bop crew.
• 5:07
Here's another fun fact, Kidz Bop isn't just in the United
• 5:10
States anymore. There are Kidz Bop albums in
• 5:13
other countries too, like the United Kingdom, Germany, France,
• 5:17
and Mexico. That means kids all over the
• 5:19
world can enjoy their favorite songs in their own language,
• 5:22
sung by kids just like them. It's like a worldwide music club
• 5:26
where everyone is invited. Let's talk about the kinds of
• 5:29
songs you'll find on a Kidz Bop album.
• 5:31
Most of the songs are pop hits, the ones you hear on the radio,
• 5:34
at birthday parties, or even in movies.
• 5:37
Some of the artists whose songs have been covered by Kidz Bop
• 5:40
include Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Ed
• 5:44
Sheeran. That's a lot of star power.
• 5:47
But no matter which song they cover, Kidz Bop always makes
• 5:50
sure the lyrics are fun, positive, and perfect for
• 5:53
singing along with your friends. Now, you might be thinking, why
• 5:57
not just listen to the original songs?
• 5:59
Well, sometimes the original songs have words or ideas that
• 6:03
aren't meant for kids. Kids Bop makes sure you can
• 6:06
enjoy the same catchy tunes, but in a way that's safe and fun for
• 6:10
everyone. It's like having your favorite
• 6:12
ice cream, but without any flavors.
• 6:14
You don't like just the good stuff.
• 6:16
Here's a did you know moment. Did you know that Kidz Bop even
• 6:19
has its own radio station that's right on SiriusXM, There's a
• 6:23
channel that plays Kidz Bop songs all day long.
• 6:26
So if you ever want a nonstop Kidz Bop dance party, you know
• 6:30
where to tune in. Kidz Bop also loves to celebrate
• 6:33
special occasions. They make albums and music
• 6:36
videos for holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and even
• 6:40
summer vacation. Imagine singing along to Jingle
• 6:43
Bells or Monster Mash with the Kidz Bop Kids.
• 6:45
It's the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.
• 6:48
And Kidz Bop isn't just about music.
• 6:50
They care about helping kids feel confident, positive, and
• 6:54
ready to shine. The Kidz Bop Kids often talk
• 6:57
about being kind, working hard, and following your dreams.
• 7:01
They encourage everyone to get up, dance, and sing no matter
• 7:04
where you are or how old you are, because music is for
• 7:08
everyone. Let's do a quick recap of
• 7:10
