March 2 - When Sorrow Has No Easy Words · Bible Chat Devotional

0:02
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
0:06
rooted in scripture and relevant for today, March 2nd.
0:10
When life feels heavy, some days just feel heavier than others.
0:15
You wake up already tired. Your thoughts feel loud.
0:19
The pressure from school, work, family expectations, or even
0:23
your own mistakes sits on your chest like a weight you can't
0:26
shake. And sometimes you don't even
0:28
have the words for it. You just know it hurts.
0:32
In Job chapter 3, verse 11, after losing his children, his
0:36
wealth, and his health, Job cried out.
0:39
Why did I not perish at birth and die as I came from the womb?
0:42
That's not polished. That's not church language.
0:46
That's raw pain. Job wasn't pretending to be
0:49
strong. He wasn't hiding his feelings
0:51
from God. He brought the darkest thoughts
0:53
of his heart into the open. And here's what's powerful.
0:57
God didn't reject him for that honesty.
1:01
At the same time, Proverbs Chapter 11, verses 20 to 21 says
1:06
those of crooked heart are an abomination to the Lord, but
1:09
those of blameless ways are his delight.
1:12
Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished, but the
1:16
offspring of the righteous will be delivered.
1:18
Even when life feels unfair, even when it seems like the
1:22
wrong people are winning and you're barely surviving, God
1:25
sees. He delights in those who walk
1:28
with him. He promises justice.
1:31
He promises deliverance. When life feels heavy, the enemy
1:34
whispers that it will always be this way, that nothing will
1:37
change, that your story is stuck.
1:41
But Jobs story didn't end in chapter 3.
1:43
That chapter was a valley, not the conclusion.
1:46
And the same can be true for you.
1:49
Maybe you're carrying disappointment no one else knows
1:51
about. Maybe you're silently battling
1:53
anxiety, loneliness, or the weight of expectations.
1:57
God can handle your hardest questions.
2:00
He can handle your tears. He can handle your frustration.
2:04
He is not intimidated by your honesty.
2:07
And while you may not see justice or breakthrough
2:09
immediately, Proverbs reminds us that God's promises are sure.
2:14
Deliverance may not come overnight, but it will come in
2:16
His time. Your faithfulness in the middle
2:19
of the heaviness matters. Your decision to keep walking
2:22
with Him, even slowly, even with questions, delights his heart.
2:27
So don't give up. In chapter 3, don't assume this
2:30
heavy moment is the final word over your life.
2:33
God is still writing your story, and He stays with you in every
2:36
page. Let's pray.
2:39
Heavenly Father, you see the weight I'm carrying right now.
2:42
You know the thoughts I struggle with and the questions I'm
2:45
afraid to say out loud. Thank you for being big enough
2:48
to handle my honesty when life feels heavy.
2:52
Remind me that You delighted me as I walk with You.
2:55
Help me trust that justice, deliverance and hope are still
2:58
ahead. Give me strength to hold on to
3:00
faith even in this chapter in Jesus name, Amen.

Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
4:29
Bible reading plan. Proverbs Chapter 11 Verses 20 to
4:34
21 World English Bible Those who are perverse in heart are an
4:38
abomination to Yahweh, but those whose ways are blameless are his
4:42
delight. Most certainly the evil man will
4:45
not be unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will
4:47
be delivered. Job Chapter 3 World English
4:51
Bible After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his
4:55
birth. Job answered, Let the day perish
4:57
in which I was born, the night which said, there is a boy
5:00
conceived, Let that day be darkness.
5:03
Don't let God from above seek for it, neither let the light
5:06
shine on it. Let darkness and the shadow of
5:08
death claim it for their own. Let a cloud dwell on it.
5:11
Let all that makes the day black terrify it.
5:14
As for that night, let thick darkness seize on it.
5:17
Let it not rejoice among the days of the year.
5:19
Let it not come into the number of the months.
5:22
Behold, let that night be barren, Let no joyful voice come
5:25
therein. Let them curse it who curse the
5:27
day, who are ready to rouse up leviathan.
5:30
Let the stars of its twilight be dark.
5:33
Let it look for light, but have none.
5:35
Neither let it see the eyelids of the morning because it didn't
5:38
shut up the doors of my mother's womb, nor did it hide trouble
5:41
from my eyes. Why didn't I die from the womb?
5:44
Why didn't I give up the spirit when my mother bore me?
5:47
Why did the knees receive me, or why the breast that I should
5:50
nurse for? Now I should have lain down and
5:52
been quiet. I should have slept.
5:55
Then I would have been at rest with kings and counselors of the
5:57
earth who built up waste places for themselves, or with Princess
6:01
who had gold, who filled their houses with silver, or as a
6:05
hidden untimely birth. I had not been as infants who
6:08
never saw light. They're the wicked cease from
6:10
troubling. They're the weary are at rest.
6:13
They're the prisoners are at ease together.
6:15
They don't hear the voice of the taskmaster.
6:18
The small and the great are there.
6:19
The servant is free from his master.
6:22
Why is light given to him who is in misery life to the bitter in
6:25
soul who long for death? But it doesn't come and dig for
6:29
it more than for hidden treasures who rejoice
6:31
exceedingly, and are glad when they can find the grave.
6:34
Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God
6:37
has hedged in? For my sign comes before I eat.
6:41
My groanings are poured out like water.
6:43
For the thing which I fear comes on me.
6:45
That which I am afraid of comes to me.
6:47
I am not at ease, neither am I quiet, neither do I have rest.
6:50
But trouble comes. Thanks for joining us on Bible
