• 1:25
  of
• 1:25
  the

• 1:26
  I
• 1:27
  ever
• 1:27
  interviewed
• 1:28
  back
• 1:28
  when
• 1:28
  I
• 1:28
  was
• 1:28
  in

  college.
• 1:29
  But
• 1:29
  Robert
• 1:30
  Venditti,
• 1:31
  you
• 1:31
  may
• 1:31
  know
• 1:31
  him
• 1:31
  from
• 1:32
  his
• 1:32

• 1:35
  Green
• 1:35
  Lantern,
• 1:37
  Hawkman,
• 1:38
  and
• 1:38
  then
• 1:38
  one
• 1:38
  of
• 1:38
  my
• 1:39
  favorites,
• 1:39
  Exomanowar.
• 1:40
  He
• 1:41
  also
• 1:41
  has
• 1:41
  a
• 1:41
  new
• 1:41
  book
• 1:41
  out
• 1:42
  through

• 1:44
  about
• 1:44
  today.
• 1:45
  But
• 1:45
  Rob,
• 1:46
  really
• 1:46
  great
• 1:46
  to
• 1:46
  have
• 1:46
  you
• 1:47
  today.
• 1:47
  This
• 1:47
  will
• 1:47
  be
• 1:47
  a
• 1:47
  lot
• 1:48
  of
• 1:48
  fun.
• 1:48
  N.
• 1:48
  Thanks
• 1:49
  for
• 1:49
  y'
• 1:49
  all
• 1:49
  having
• 1:49
  me
• 1:49
  on.
• 1:49
  I
• 1:49
  appreciate
• 1:50
  it.
• 1:50
  I,
• 1:50
  I
• 1:51
  remember
• 1:51
  that
• 1:51
  first
• 1:51
  interview
• 1:52
  going
• 1:52
  pretty
• 1:52
  well.
• 1:52
  So
• 1:53
  you
• 1:53
  were
• 1:54
  pretty
• 1:54
  good
• 1:54
  at
• 1:54
  it
• 1:54
  right
• 1:54
  out
• 1:54
  of
• 1:55
  the
• 1:55
  gate.
• 1:56
  Oh,
• 1:56
  I
• 1:57
  appreciate
• 1:57
  it.
• 1:57
  Funny
• 1:58
  story
• 1:58
  about
• 1:58
  that,
• 1:58
  though.
• 1:59
  I
• 1:59
  remember
• 1:59
  because,
• 2:00
  like,
• 2:00
  I
• 2:00
  think
• 2:00
  it
• 2:01
  was
• 2:01
  I
• 2:01
  was
• 2:01
  writing
• 2:01
  for,
• 2:02
  like,
• 2:02
  the
• 2:02
  NC
• 2:02
  Comic
• 2:03
  Con
• 2:03
  site
• 2:04
  just
• 2:04
  on
• 2:04
  the
• 2:04
  side,
• 2:05
  and
• 2:06
  I
• 2:06
  sent
• 2:07
  you.
• 2:08
  This
• 2:08
  was
• 2:08
  when
• 2:09
  I
• 2:09
  was
• 2:09
  terribly
• 2:09
  inept
• 2:10
  with
• 2:10
  technology,
• 2:10
  and
• 2:10
  I
• 2:10
  sent
• 2:10
  you,
• 2:11
  like,
• 2:11
  the
• 2:11
  Skype
• 2:11
  link.
• 2:11
  Like,
• 2:12
  that's
• 2:12
  how
• 2:12
  I
• 2:12
  was
• 2:12
  back
• 2:13
  in
• 2:13
  the
• 2:13
  Skype
• 2:13
  days.
• 2:13
  But,
• 2:14
  but
• 2:14
  I
• 2:14
  sent
• 2:15
  you
• 2:15
  that,
• 2:15
  and
• 2:15
  I
• 2:15
  had
• 2:16
  trouble
• 2:16
  getting
• 2:16
  it
• 2:17
  loaded
• 2:17
  on
• 2:17
  my
• 2:17
  iPad.
• 2:18
  I
• 2:18
  was
• 2:18
  like,
• 2:18
  crap,
• 2:19
  he's
• 2:19
  gonna.
• 2:19
  Like,
• 2:20
  I
• 2:20
  think
• 2:20
  you
• 2:21
  got
• 2:21
  on
• 2:21
  first.
• 2:21
  And
• 2:21
  you
• 2:22
  were
• 2:22
  like,
• 2:22
  oh,
• 2:23
  hello.
• 2:23
  Hello.
• 2:23
  And
• 2:24
  I
• 2:24
  was
• 2:24
  trying
• 2:24
  to
• 2:25
  get
• 2:25
  on.
• 2:25
  So
• 2:26
  the
• 2:26
  interview
• 2:26
  itself
• 2:27
  went
• 2:27
  well,
• 2:27
  but
• 2:27
  that
• 2:28
  was
• 2:28
  my
• 2:28
  inept
• 2:29
  technology.
• 2:30
  I
• 2:30
  end
• 2:30
  up.
• 2:30
  Well,
• 2:30
  I
• 2:31
  don't
• 2:31
  even
• 2:31
  remember
• 2:31
  that
• 2:32
  part.
• 2:32
  So,
• 2:33
  so
• 2:33
  that,
• 2:33
  like,
• 2:34
  that
• 2:34
  was
• 2:34
  like
• 2:34
  in
• 2:34
  the
• 2:34
  before
• 2:35
  times,
• 2:35
  before,
• 2:35
  like,
• 2:36
  everybody
• 2:36
  got
• 2:36
  used
• 2:36
  to
• 2:36
  zoom
• 2:37
  and
• 2:37
  streaming.
• 2:37
  And
• 2:38
  here
• 2:38
  we
• 2:39
  are
• 2:39
  on
• 2:39
  YouTube
• 2:39
  and,
• 2:40
  and
• 2:40
  doing
• 2:40
  that
• 2:41
  I,
• 2:41
  I
• 2:41
  love.
• 2:42
  Now
• 2:42
  I
• 2:42
  do
• 2:42
  it
• 2:42
  in
• 2:42
  my
• 2:42
  sleep
• 2:43
  because
• 2:43
  I
• 2:43
  work
• 2:43
  remotely
• 2:44
  and.
• 2:44
  Yeah,
• 2:45
  but,
• 2:45
  but,
• 2:46
  but,
• 2:46
  yeah,
• 2:47
  Sam,
• 2:47
  we've
• 2:47
  done
• 2:47
  panels
• 2:48
  at
• 2:48
  ComicCon,
• 2:49
  so
• 2:49
  it's
• 2:49
  been
• 2:49
  a
• 2:49
  lot
• 2:49
  of
• 2:50
  fun.
• 2:50
  So,
• 2:50
  Rob,
• 2:51
  thanks
• 2:51
  for
• 2:51
  joining
• 2:51
  us.
• 2:51
  I
• 2:52

• 3:00
  I'm
• 3:00
  pretty
• 3:00
  excited.
• 3:01
  I'm
• 3:01
  a,
• 3:01
  I'm
• 3:01
  a
• 3:01
  huge
• 3:01
  comic
• 3:02
  book
• 3:02
  nerd.
• 3:02
  I,
• 3:03
  I
• 3:03
  have
• 3:03
  my
• 3:03
  weekly
• 3:04
  pool.
• 3:04
  I,
• 3:05
  I'm
• 3:05
  excited
• 3:05
  about
• 3:06
  his
• 3:07
  new
• 3:07
  book,
• 3:07
  Ordained
• 3:08
  says
• 3:08
  I'm
• 3:08
  an
• 3:08
  ordained
• 3:08
  Lutheran
• 3:09
  minister.
• 3:10
  I,
• 3:10
  I
• 3:10
  love
• 3:10
  and
• 3:11
  I
• 3:11
  love
• 3:11
  John
• 3:11
  Wick.
• 3:11
  And
• 3:12
  I
• 3:12
  loved
• 3:12
  Wake
• 3:13
  Up,
• 3:13
  Dead
• 3:13
  man,
• 3:13
  which
• 3:13
  there's
• 3:14
  a
• 3:14
  blend
• 3:14
  there
• 3:14
  and
• 3:15
  there.
• 3:15
  I,
• 3:15
  I,
• 3:15
  I.
• 3:16
  If
• 3:16
  you
• 3:16
  want
• 3:16
  to
• 3:16
  keep
• 3:16
  going
• 3:16
  with
• 3:17
  those
• 3:17
  kinds
• 3:17
  of
• 3:17
  genres,
• 3:18
  Ordained
• 3:18
  is
• 3:19
  for
• 3:19
  you.
• 3:19
  I
• 3:19
  love
• 3:19
  the
• 3:20
  first
• 3:20
  this
• 3:20
  year,
• 3:20
  and
• 3:20
  I
• 3:20
  can't
• 3:20
  wait
• 3:20
  to
• 3:20
  talk.
• 3:21
  Well,
• 3:21
  if
• 3:21
  you're
• 3:21
  stalling
• 3:22
  out
• 3:22
  with
• 3:22
  me,
• 3:22
  to
• 3:22
  begin
• 3:22
  your
• 3:23
  2026,
• 3:23
  there's
• 3:24
  nowhere
• 3:24
  to
• 3:24
  go
• 3:24
  but
• 3:24
  up
• 3:24
  from
• 3:25
  Here,
• 3:25
  guys.
• 3:25
  So
• 3:25
  there
• 3:25
  you
• 3:26
  go.
• 3:26
  All
• 3:26
  right.
• 3:28
  Oh,
• 3:28
  no,
• 3:29
  no.
• 3:29
  But.
• 3:29
  But,
• 3:29
  Rob,
• 3:30
  we
• 3:30
  are
• 3:30
  glad
• 3:30
  to
• 3:30
  have
• 3:30
  you
• 3:31
  today.
• 3:31
  And,
• 3:31
  yeah,
• 3:32
  and
• 3:32
  so
• 3:33
  before
• 3:33
  we
• 3:33
  get
• 3:33
  started,
• 3:34
  if.
• 3:34
  For
• 3:34
  viewers
• 3:35
  out
• 3:35
  there,
• 3:36
  if
• 3:36
  you
• 3:36
  want
• 3:36
  to
• 3:36
  support
• 3:36
  the
• 3:37
  show,
• 3:37
  just
• 3:37
  click
• 3:37
  the
• 3:38
  link
• 3:38
  in
• 3:38
  the
• 3:38
  description.
• 3:39
  You
• 3:39
  can
• 3:39
  find
• 3:40
  out
• 3:40
  more
• 3:40
  about
• 3:40
  us,
• 3:40
  find
• 3:41
  ways
• 3:41
  to
• 3:41
  support,
• 3:42
  like,
• 3:42
  rate,
• 3:42
  review,
• 3:43
  subscribe,
• 3:43
  all
• 3:44
  of
• 3:44
  that
• 3:44
  good
• 3:44
  stuff.
• 3:44
  But.
• 3:45
  But
• 3:45
  we
• 3:45
  want
• 3:46
  to
• 3:46
  get
• 3:46
  straight
• 3:46
  to
• 3:46
  it
• 3:46
  today.
• 3:47
  Um,
• 3:48
  so,
• 3:48
  Will,
• 3:48
  I'll
• 3:48
  hand
• 3:48
  it
• 3:49
  over
• 3:49
  to
• 3:49
  you
• 3:49
  first
• 3:49
  to
• 3:49
  get
• 3:50
  started.
• 3:51
  Yeah,
• 3:51
  you
• 3:52
  know,
• 3:52
  usually
• 3:52
  start
• 3:53
  what
• 3:53
  you're.
• 3:53
  What
• 3:53
  are
• 3:53
  we
• 3:54
  geeking
• 3:54
  out
• 3:54
  on?
• 3:54
  But
• 3:55
  we'll
• 3:56
  do
• 3:56
  that
• 3:56
  at
• 3:56
  the
• 3:56
  end
• 3:57
  of
• 3:57
  this.
• 3:57
  Right
• 3:58
  now,
• 3:58
  I'm
• 3:58
  geeking
• 3:58
  out
• 3:59
  on
• 3:59
  Rob
• 4:00
  being
• 4:00
  with
• 4:00
  us.
• 4:00
  And
• 4:00
  I
• 4:01
  love
• 4:01
  asking,
• 4:02
  since
• 4:02
  I'm
• 4:02
  a
• 4:03
  big
• 4:03
  comic
• 4:03
  book
• 4:03
  fan,
• 4:03
  I
• 4:04
  love
• 4:04
  asking
• 4:04
  how
• 4:05
  the
• 4:05
  sausage
• 4:05
  is
• 4:05
  made,
• 4:06
  what's
• 4:06
  the
• 4:06
  process,
• 4:06
  what
• 4:07
  their
• 4:07
  background,
• 4:07
  origin
• 4:08
  story,
• 4:08
  that
• 4:09
  kind
• 4:09
  of
• 4:09
  stuff.
• 4:09
  So
• 4:10
  what
• 4:10
  was
• 4:10
  your
• 4:11
  kind
• 4:11
  of
• 4:11
  like?
• 4:12
  I
• 4:13
  mean,
• 4:13
  your
• 4:13
  work
• 4:13
  is
• 4:13
  so
• 4:13
  prolific
• 4:14
  in
• 4:14
  comics.
• 4:15
  What.
• 4:16
  How
• 4:16
  did
• 4:16
  you
• 4:16
  get
• 4:16
  your
• 4:16
  start
• 4:16
  in
• 4:17
  comics?
• 4:17
  What's
• 4:17
  your
• 4:17
  origin
• 4:18
  story?
• 4:18
  Where
• 4:18
  did
• 4:18
  it
• 4:18
  all
• 4:19
  begin
• 4:19
  for
• 4:19
  you,
• 4:20
  Rob?
• 4:21
  Yeah,
• 4:21
  so
• 4:22
  I
• 4:22
  didn't
• 4:22
  grow
• 4:22
  up
• 4:22
  reading
• 4:23
  comic
• 4:23
  books
• 4:23
  at
• 4:23
  all.
• 4:24
  I
• 4:24
  started
• 4:24
  reading
• 4:25
  them

  in,
• 4:25
  like,
• 4:25
  my
• 4:26
  mid
• 4:26
  to
• 4:26
  late
• 4:26
  twenties.
• 4:29
  I
• 4:29
  always
• 4:29
  wanted
• 4:29
  to
• 4:30
  be
• 4:30
  a
• 4:30
  writer,
• 4:30
  but
• 4:31
  comic
• 4:31
  books
• 4:32
  weren't
• 4:32
  something
• 4:32
  that
• 4:32
  were
• 4:33
  ever
• 4:33
  on
• 4:33
  my
• 4:33
  radar.
• 4:34
  And
• 4:34
  when
• 4:35
  I
• 4:35
  started
• 4:35
  writing
• 4:35
  them,
• 4:35
  I
• 4:36
  was
• 4:36
  doing
• 4:36
  fiction.
• 4:36
  I
• 4:36
  was
• 4:37
  in
• 4:37
  grad
• 4:37
  school
• 4:37
  for
• 4:37
  creative
• 4:38
  writing.
• 4:38
  I
• 4:38
  was
• 4:38
  writing
• 4:38
  short
• 4:39
  stories,
• 4:39
  things
• 4:39
  like
• 4:39
  that.
• 4:40
  And
• 4:41
  when
• 4:41
  I
• 4:41
  read
• 4:41
  them,
• 4:41
  I
• 4:41
  decided,
• 4:42
  I
• 4:42
  want
• 4:42
  to
• 4:42
  try
• 4:42
  to
• 4:42
  write
• 4:42
  them.
• 4:42
  But
• 4:43
  I
• 4:43
  had
• 4:44
  no
• 4:44
  idea
• 4:44
  how
• 4:44
  to
• 4:44
  go
• 4:45
  about
• 4:45
  doing
• 4:45
  this.
• 4:45
  This
• 4:45
  is,
• 4:46
  you
• 4:46
  know,
• 4:47
  2000,
• 4:48
  so
• 4:49
  it
• 4:49
  wasn't
• 4:49
  the
• 4:49
  way
• 4:50
  it
• 4:50
  is
• 4:50
  now
• 4:50
  with,
• 4:51
  you
• 4:52
  know,
• 4:52
  books
• 4:52
  and
• 4:53
  websites
• 4:53
  and
• 4:53
  all
• 4:53
  kinds
• 4:54
  of
• 4:54
  things
• 4:54
  you
• 4:54
  can
• 4:54
  go
• 4:54
  to
• 4:55
  and
• 4:55
  Patreon,
• 4:55
  where
• 4:56
  you
• 4:56
  can
• 4:56
  learn
• 4:56
  about
• 4:56
  being
• 4:56
  a
• 4:56
  writer
• 4:57
  or
• 4:57
  whatever.
• 4:57
  Like,
• 4:57
  none
• 4:58
  of
• 4:58
  that
• 4:58
  stuff
• 4:58
  really
• 4:58
  existed
• 4:59
  too
• 4:59
  much.
• 4:59
  So
• 5:00
  I
• 5:00
  started
• 5:01
  out
• 5:01
  by
• 5:01
  volunteering
• 5:02
  to
• 5:02
  work
• 5:02
  in
• 5:02
  the
• 5:02
  warehouse
• 5:03
  for
• 5:03
  a
• 5:03
  small
• 5:04
  press
• 5:04
  publisher
• 5:04
  named
• 5:05
  Top
• 5:05
  Shelf
• 5:05
  Productions.
• 5:06
  They've
• 5:06
  since
• 5:06
  gone
• 5:07
  on
• 5:07
  to
• 5:07
  become
• 5:07
  an
• 5:07
  imprint
• 5:08
  of
• 5:08
  idw,
• 5:08
  but
• 5:09
  they're
• 5:10
  publishers
• 5:10
  of
• 5:11
  Blankets
• 5:12
  Swallow
• 5:12
  Me
• 5:13
  Whole,
• 5:13
  the
• 5:13
  very
• 5:13
  famous
• 5:14
  March
• 5:14
  book
• 5:15
  series
• 5:15
  by.
• 5:15
  By.
• 5:16
  Yeah,
• 5:16
  John
• 5:17
  Lewis.
• 5:18
  They
• 5:19
  called
• 5:19
  us
• 5:19
  Enemy
• 5:20
  by
• 5:20
  George
• 5:20
  Takei.
• 5:21
  Like,
• 5:21
  a
• 5:21
  lot
• 5:22
  of
• 5:22
  really
• 5:22
  good
• 5:22
  stuff.
• 5:24
  So
• 5:24
  I
• 5:24
  started
• 5:24
  out
• 5:24
  working
• 5:25
  there
• 5:25
  in
• 5:25
  their
• 5:25
  warehouse
• 5:25
  as
• 5:25
  their
• 5:26
  inventory
• 5:26
  person.
• 5:28
  Moved
• 5:29
  up,
• 5:29
  you
• 5:29
  know,
• 5:29
  through
• 5:30
  things,
• 5:30
  you
• 5:30
  know,
• 5:30
  doing
• 5:31
  editorial,
• 5:31
  doing
• 5:32
  sales.
• 5:32
  I
• 5:33
  was
• 5:33
  the
• 5:33
  first
• 5:33
  employee
• 5:34
  ever
• 5:34
  hired
• 5:34
  by
• 5:34
  the
• 5:34
  company,
• 5:34
  so
• 5:35
  kind
• 5:35
  of
• 5:35
  wore
• 5:35
  a
• 5:35
  lot
• 5:36
  of
• 5:36
  different
• 5:36
  hats.
• 5:37
  And
• 5:37
  while
• 5:37
  I
• 5:37
  was
• 5:37
  there,
• 5:37
  I
• 5:38
  wrote
• 5:38
  the
• 5:38
  script
• 5:38
  for
• 5:38
  my
• 5:38
  first
• 5:39
  comic
• 5:39
  book,
• 5:39
  which
• 5:39
  is
• 5:39
  called
• 5:39
  the
• 5:40
  Surrogates.
• 5:40
  And
• 5:41
  I
• 5:41
  gave
• 5:41
  that
• 5:41
  to
• 5:42
  Chris,
• 5:42
  who
• 5:42
  was
• 5:43
  the
• 5:43
  editor
• 5:43
  of
• 5:43
  Top
• 5:43
  Shelf.
• 5:44
  And
• 5:44
  it
• 5:45
  was
• 5:45
  sort
• 5:45
  of
• 5:45
  a
• 5:45
  sci
• 5:45
  fi
• 5:46
  cyberpunk
• 5:46
  story,
• 5:46
  which
• 5:47
  was
• 5:47
  outside
• 5:47
  of
• 5:48
  what
• 5:48
  Top
• 5:49
  Shelf
• 5:49
  did,
• 5:49
  which
• 5:49
  is
• 5:50
  primarily,
• 5:50
  you
• 5:50
  know,
• 5:51
  kind
• 5:51
  of
• 5:51
  heartfelt
• 5:51
  autobio
• 5:52
  comics,
• 5:53
  things
• 5:53
  like
• 5:53
  that.
• 5:55
  And
• 5:55
  I
• 5:55
  was
• 5:55
  like,
• 5:55
  look,
• 5:56
  if
• 5:56
  you
• 5:56
  don't
• 5:56
  think
• 5:57
  this
• 5:57
  is
• 5:57
  for
• 5:57
  you,
• 5:57
  that's
• 5:58
  great.
• 5:58
  But
• 5:58
  if
• 5:58
  you
• 5:58
  think
• 5:58
  it's
• 5:59
  good
• 5:59
  enough,
• 5:59
  you
• 6:00
  know,
• 6:00
  maybe
• 6:00
  you
• 6:00
  could
• 6:00
  introduce
• 6:01
  me
• 6:01
  to
• 6:02
  Vertigo
• 6:02
  or
• 6:02
  Dark
• 6:03
  Horse
• 6:03
  or
• 6:03
  something
• 6:03
  like
• 6:04
  that.
• 6:04
  But
• 6:05
  Chris
• 6:05
  really
• 6:05
  liked
• 6:05
  it.
• 6:06
  They'd
• 6:06
  always
• 6:07
  wanted
• 6:07
  to
• 6:07
  do
• 6:07
  something
• 6:07
  that
• 6:08
  was
• 6:08
  a
• 6:08
  little
• 6:08
  bit
• 6:08
  more,
• 6:08
  you
• 6:09
  know,
• 6:09
  genre.
• 6:10
  And
• 6:10
  so
• 6:11
  they
• 6:11
  asked
• 6:11
  if,
• 6:12
  you
• 6:12
  know,
• 6:13
  if
• 6:13
  I
• 6:13
  wanted
• 6:14
  to
• 6:14
  publish
• 6:14
  it
• 6:14
  there.
• 6:14
  And
• 6:14
  I
• 6:15
  was
• 6:15
  very
• 6:15
  excited
• 6:15
  to
• 6:16
  do
• 6:16
  so
• 6:17
  because
• 6:17
  I
• 6:17
  had
• 6:17
  a
• 6:17
  great
• 6:17
  relationship
• 6:18
  with
• 6:18
  them
• 6:18
  and
• 6:18
  I
• 6:18
  knew
• 6:18
  that
• 6:18
  it
• 6:19
  will
• 6:19
  be
• 6:19
  a
• 6:20
  really
• 6:20
  rare
• 6:20
  opportunity
• 6:20
  for
• 6:21
  my
• 6:21
  first
• 6:21
  book,
• 6:21
  especially
• 6:22
  to
• 6:23
  see
• 6:23
  it
• 6:23
  from
• 6:23
  the
• 6:23
  creator
• 6:24
  side
• 6:24
  and
• 6:24
  from
• 6:24
  the
• 6:24
  business
• 6:24
  side,
• 6:25
  you
• 6:25
  know,
• 6:25
  go
• 6:26
  through
• 6:26
  the
• 6:26
  whole
• 6:26
  ordering
• 6:27
  and
• 6:27
  it's
• 6:27
  in
• 6:27
  the
• 6:27
  catalog
• 6:28
  and
• 6:28
  all
• 6:29
  the
• 6:29
  way
• 6:29
  down
• 6:29
  to
• 6:29
  packing
• 6:29
  up
• 6:30
  books,
• 6:30
  my
• 6:30
  own
• 6:31
  book,
• 6:31
  and
• 6:31
  sending
• 6:31
  it
• 6:31
  to
• 6:31
  a
• 6:32
  retailer
• 6:32
  for
• 6:32
  them
• 6:32
  to
• 6:32
  sell,
• 6:33
  you
• 6:33
  know,
• 6:34
  and
• 6:35
  so
• 6:35
  they
• 6:35
  published
• 6:35
  it
• 6:36
  and
• 6:36
  that
• 6:37
  was
• 6:37
  how
• 6:37
  I
• 6:37
  got
• 6:37
  my
• 6:37
  start.
• 6:37
  That
• 6:38
  was
• 6:38
  my
• 6:38
  first
• 6:38
  book.
• 6:39
  Nice,
• 6:39
  nice.
• 6:40
  And
• 6:40
  Rob,
• 6:41
  on
• 6:41
  that
• 6:41
  note
• 6:42
  too.
• 6:42
  So
• 6:42
  the
• 6:43
  Surrogates
• 6:43
  is
• 6:43
  like,
• 6:44
  hey,
• 6:44
  it's
• 6:44
  a
• 6:44
  really
• 6:44
  good
• 6:45
  book,
• 6:45
  but
• 6:45
  it
• 6:46
  was
• 6:46
  actually
• 6:46
  also
• 6:47
  adapted
• 6:47
  into
• 6:47
  a
• 6:47
  big
• 6:48
  Hollywood
• 6:48
  movie.
• 6:50
  And
• 6:50
  so
• 6:50
  what
• 6:50
  was
• 6:51
  the
• 6:51
  feeling
• 6:51
  of
• 6:51
  that,
• 6:51
  like,
• 6:52
  for.
• 6:52
  Because
• 6:52
  not
• 6:53
  only
• 6:53
  is
• 6:53
  it
• 6:53
  rare
• 6:54
  for,
• 6:55
  you
• 6:55
  know,
• 6:55
  a
• 6:55
  first
• 6:55
  book
• 6:56
  to
• 6:56
  actually
• 6:56
  go
• 6:56
  through
• 6:57
  a
• 6:57
  publisher,
• 6:57
  a
• 6:57
  lot
• 6:57
  of
• 6:58
  creators
• 6:58
  these
• 6:58
  days,
• 6:59
  you
• 6:59
  know,
• 6:59
  they
• 6:59
  might
• 6:59
  self
• 7:00
  publish
• 7:00
  something
• 7:00
  small,
• 7:01
  but
• 7:01
  you
• 7:02
  actually
• 7:02
  got
• 7:02
  a
• 7:02
  publisher
• 7:03
  and
• 7:03
  then
• 7:04
  beyond
• 7:04
  that,
• 7:04
  it
• 7:05
  got
• 7:05
  a
• 7:05
  big
• 7:05
  screen
• 7:06
  adaptation.
• 7:06
  So
• 7:07
  what
• 7:07
  was
• 7:07
  that
• 7:07
  feeling
• 7:07
  like?
• 7:08
  Yeah,
• 7:09
  I
• 7:09
  mean,
• 7:09
  it
• 7:09
  was
• 7:10
  definitely
• 7:10
  wild.
• 7:10
  Like,
• 7:10
  I.
• 7:11
  I
• 7:11
  didn't
• 7:11
  think
• 7:11
  any
• 7:11
  of
• 7:11
  that
• 7:11
  would
• 7:12
  happen.
• 7:12
  My
• 7:12
  hope
• 7:12
  when
• 7:12
  I
• 7:13
  wrote
• 7:13
  Surrogates
• 7:13
  was
• 7:14
  that
• 7:14
  somebody
• 7:14
  would
• 7:15
  publish
• 7:15
  it.
• 7:16
  I
• 7:16
  felt
• 7:16
  certain
• 7:16
  nobody
• 7:17
  would
• 7:17
  ever
• 7:17
  read
• 7:17
  it,
• 7:18
  but
• 7:18
  at
• 7:18
  least
• 7:18
  I'd
• 7:19
  have
• 7:19
  a
• 7:19
  printed
• 7:19
  copy
• 7:20
  that
• 7:20
  I
• 7:20
  could
• 7:20
  give
• 7:20
  to
• 7:20
  editors
• 7:21
  and
• 7:21
  use
• 7:21
  as
• 7:21
  a
• 7:21
  resume
• 7:22
  piece.
• 7:22
  This
• 7:22
  is
• 7:22
  the
• 7:23
  kind
• 7:23
  of
• 7:23
  stories
• 7:23
  I
• 7:23
  do.
• 7:24
  This
• 7:24
  is
• 7:24
  how
• 7:24
  I
• 7:24
  develop
• 7:25
  character,
• 7:25
  this
• 7:26
  is
• 7:26
  how
• 7:26
  I
• 7:26
  develop
• 7:26
  plot
• 7:27
  and
• 7:27
  use
• 7:27
  that
• 7:28
  to
• 7:28
  get
• 7:28
  additional
• 7:28
  work,
• 7:29
  you
• 7:29
  know,
• 7:30
  So
• 7:31
  I
• 7:31
  wasn't
• 7:31
  thinking
• 7:32
  this
• 7:32
  is
• 7:32
  going
• 7:32
  to
• 7:32
  be
• 7:32
  a
• 7:33
  movie
• 7:33
  or,
• 7:33
  you
• 7:33
  know,
• 7:33
  I
• 7:34
  wasn't
• 7:34
  writing
• 7:34
  comics
• 7:34
  to
• 7:35
  make
• 7:35
  movies.
• 7:35
  I
• 7:35
  still
• 7:35
  don't
• 7:37
  any
• 7:37
  of
• 7:37
  those
• 7:37
  kinds
• 7:38
  of
• 7:38
  things.
• 7:38
  In
• 7:38
  fact,
• 7:39
  the
• 7:40
  book
• 7:40
  was
• 7:40
  timed
• 7:40
  to
• 7:40
  come
• 7:40
  out
• 7:41
  around
• 7:41
  ComicCon
• 7:42
  the
• 7:42
  year
• 7:42
  that
• 7:42
  it
• 7:43
  did.
• 7:43
  I
• 7:43
  think
• 7:43
  this
• 7:43
  was
• 7:44
  2005
• 7:45
  when
• 7:46
  the
• 7:46
  first
• 7:46
  issue
• 7:46
  came
• 7:47
  out.
• 7:47
  And
• 7:47
  I
• 7:48
  was
• 7:48
  out
• 7:48
  there
• 7:48
  in
• 7:48
  my
• 7:48
  capacity
• 7:49
  as
• 7:49
  being
• 7:49
  in
• 7:49
  a
• 7:49
  play
• 7:50
  for
• 7:50
  top
• 7:50
  shelf,
• 7:51
  setting
• 7:52
  up
• 7:52
  the
• 7:52
  booth,
• 7:52
  you
• 7:52
  know,
• 7:53
  moving
• 7:53
  around
• 7:53
  pallets
• 7:54
  full
• 7:54
  of
• 7:54
  books
• 7:54
  and
• 7:54
  setting
• 7:54
  up
• 7:55
  the
• 7:55
  tables
• 7:55
  and
• 7:56
  putting
• 7:56
  all
• 7:56
  these
• 7:57
  stacks
• 7:57
  out
• 7:57
  of
• 7:57
  everybody's
• 7:58
  books.
• 7:58
  And
• 7:58
  this
• 7:58
  year,
• 7:59
  you
• 7:59
  know,
• 7:59
  I'd
• 8:00
  done
• 8:00
  this
• 8:00
  for
• 8:00
  years,
• 8:00
  but
• 8:01
  this
• 8:01
  year,
• 8:01
  mine
• 8:02
  happened
• 8:02
  to
• 8:02
  be
• 8:02
  one
• 8:02
  of
• 8:02
  the
• 8:03
  books.
• 8:03
  And
• 8:04
  so
• 8:04
  I'm
• 8:04
  doing
• 8:04
  that
• 8:04
  all
• 8:04
  day
• 8:05
  Wednesday,
• 8:05
  I
• 8:05
  run
• 8:05
  home,
• 8:06
  back
• 8:07
  to
• 8:07
  the
• 8:07
  hotel
• 8:07
  to
• 8:08
  clean
• 8:08
  up,
• 8:08
  to
• 8:08
  come
• 8:08
  back
• 8:09
  in
• 8:09
  time
• 8:09
  for
• 8:09
  preview
• 8:10
  night,
• 8:10
  which
• 8:10
  I
• 8:10
  think
• 8:11
  starts
• 8:11
  at
• 8:11
  like
• 8:11
  6.
• 8:12
  And
• 8:12
  I
• 8:13
  get
• 8:13
  back
• 8:13
  and
• 8:13
  the
• 8:13
  doors
• 8:13
  open
• 8:14
  and
• 8:14
  people
• 8:14
  are
• 8:14
  immediately
• 8:15
  walking
• 8:15
  up
• 8:15
  to
• 8:15
  the
• 8:16
  table.
• 8:17
  There
• 8:17
  were
• 8:17
  producers
• 8:18
  asking
• 8:18
  me
• 8:18
  who
• 8:18
  controlled
• 8:19
  the
• 8:19
  film
• 8:19
  rights
• 8:19
  to
• 8:19
  Surrogates
• 8:20
  because
• 8:21
  they
• 8:21
  were
• 8:21
  interested
• 8:22
  in
• 8:22
  optioning
• 8:22
  it.
• 8:23
  And
• 8:23
  I
• 8:23
  had
• 8:23
  just
• 8:24
  been
• 8:24
  unloading
• 8:24
  the
• 8:24
  boxes
• 8:25
  like
• 8:25
  five
• 8:25
  minutes
• 8:26
  earlier.
• 8:26
  So
• 8:27
  it
• 8:27
  was
• 8:27
  definitely
• 8:28
  a
• 8:28
  surreal
• 8:28
  experience.
• 8:29
  What
• 8:30
  year
• 8:30
  was
• 8:30
  that?
• 8:30
  Do
• 8:30
  you
• 8:30
  remember
• 8:31
  when
• 8:31
  was
• 8:32
  2005.
• 8:33
  And
• 8:34
  it
• 8:35
  went
• 8:35
  through
• 8:35
  a
• 8:35
  whole
• 8:35
  bunch
• 8:35
  of
• 8:36
  stuff,
• 8:36
  and
• 8:36
  it
• 8:36
  didn't
• 8:36
  actually
• 8:36
  end
• 8:36
  up
• 8:37
  getting
• 8:37
  optioned
• 8:37
  until
• 8:37
  2006,
• 8:38
  but
• 8:38
  the
• 8:39
  movie
• 8:39
  was
• 8:39
  out
• 8:39
  in
• 8:39
  2009.
• 8:40
  And
• 8:41
  so
• 8:42
  that
• 8:42
  obviously
• 8:43
  was
• 8:43
  a
• 8:43
  very
• 8:43
  fortunate
• 8:44
  thing
• 8:44
  to
• 8:44
  have
• 8:44
  happen
• 8:45
  because
• 8:45
  again,
• 8:45
  thinking
• 8:46
  it's
• 8:46
  Surrogates
• 8:47
  as
• 8:47
  a
• 8:47
  resume
• 8:47
  piece,
• 8:48
  for
• 8:48
  me,
• 8:49
  it
• 8:49
  was
• 8:49
  something
• 8:50
  that,
• 8:51
  whether
• 8:51
  you
• 8:51
  liked
• 8:52
  the
• 8:52
  movie
• 8:52
  or
• 8:52
  not,
• 8:53
  my
• 8:53
  name
• 8:53
  had
• 8:53
  gotten
• 8:54
  out
• 8:54
  there
• 8:55
  and
• 8:55
  the
• 8:55
  book
• 8:56
  had
• 8:56
  gotten
• 8:56
  out
• 8:56
  there.
• 8:57
  And
• 8:58
  when
• 8:58
  it
• 8:58
  came
• 8:58
  time
• 8:59
  years
• 8:59
  later,
• 8:59
  when
• 9:00
  Valiant
• 9:00
  was
• 9:00
  looking
• 9:00
  for
• 9:00
  writers
• 9:01
  to
• 9:01
  relaunch
• 9:02
  the
• 9:02
  Valiant
• 9:02
  universe,
• 9:03
  the
• 9:04
  editor
• 9:04
  in
• 9:04
  chief
• 9:04
  over
• 9:05
  there,
• 9:05
  Warren
• 9:05
  Simons,
• 9:06
  he
• 9:06
  had
• 9:06
  read
• 9:06
  Surrogates
• 9:07
  when
• 9:07
  it
• 9:07
  had
• 9:07
  come
• 9:08
  out,
• 9:08
  and
• 9:08
  he
• 9:08
  remembered
• 9:08
  it,
• 9:08
  and
• 9:09
  he
• 9:09
  reached
• 9:09
  out
• 9:09
  to
• 9:09
  me
• 9:09
  and
• 9:10
  asked
• 9:10
  me
• 9:10
  to
• 9:10
  pitch
• 9:10
  for
• 9:10
  books,
• 9:11
  and
• 9:11
  I
• 9:12
  pitched
• 9:12
  for
• 9:12
  XO
• 9:13
  and
• 9:13
  got
• 9:13
  xo,
• 9:13
  and
• 9:13
  then
• 9:14
  that
• 9:14
  led
• 9:14
  to
• 9:15
  know
• 9:15
  Eternal
• 9:15
  Warrior,
• 9:15
  and
• 9:16
  that
• 9:16
  led
• 9:16
  to
• 9:16
  Green
• 9:16
  Lantern
• 9:17
  and,
• 9:17
  you
• 9:17
  know,
• 9:17
  on
• 9:18
  from
• 9:18
  there.
• 9:18
  So
• 9:19
  in
• 9:19
  the
• 9:19
  end,
• 9:20
  I
• 9:20
  feel
• 9:20
  like
• 9:20
  Surrogates
• 9:21
  did
• 9:22
  accomplish
• 9:22
  that
• 9:23
  thing
• 9:23
  I
• 9:23
  was
• 9:23
  hoping
• 9:23
  that
• 9:23
  it
• 9:23
  would
• 9:24
  do,
• 9:24
  which
• 9:24
  is
• 9:24
  be
• 9:24
  that
• 9:25
  resume
• 9:25
  piece
• 9:25
  to
• 9:25
  get
• 9:25
  into
• 9:26
  more
• 9:26
  work.
• 9:26
  It
• 9:27
  just
• 9:27
  did
• 9:27
  it
• 9:27
  in
• 9:27
  a
• 9:28
  way
• 9:28
  that
• 9:28
  I
• 9:28
  totally
• 9:29
  didn't
• 9:30
  expect.
• 9:30
  That's
• 9:31
  a
• 9:31
  good.
• 9:31
  That's
• 9:31
  a
• 9:31
  good
• 9:32
  story.
• 9:32
  So.
• 9:32
  So
• 9:33
  since
• 9:33
  then,
• 9:33
  in
• 9:33
  terms
• 9:33
  of,
• 9:34
  like,
• 9:34
  pop
• 9:34
  culture
• 9:35
  or
• 9:35
  things
• 9:35
  that
• 9:35
  you
• 9:35
  geeked
• 9:36
  out
• 9:36
  on
• 9:36
  as
• 9:36
  a
• 9:36
  kid
• 9:37
  that
• 9:37
  led
• 9:38
  you
• 9:38
  to
• 9:38
  want
• 9:38
  to
• 9:38
  do
• 9:39
  creative
• 9:39
  writing
• 9:40
  or
• 9:41
  movies,
• 9:41
  TVs,
• 9:42
  and
• 9:42
  then
• 9:42
  eventually
• 9:43
  get
• 9:43
  the
• 9:43
  comics?
• 9:43
  Was
• 9:43
  there
• 9:44
  something
• 9:44
  that
• 9:44
  you
• 9:45
  geeked
• 9:45
  out
• 9:45
  on
• 9:45
  or
• 9:46
  that
• 9:46
  you
• 9:46
  loved
• 9:47
  a
• 9:47
  kid
• 9:47
  that
• 9:47
  led
• 9:47
  you
• 9:47
  to
• 9:47
  that
• 9:48
  moment
• 9:48
  to
• 9:48
  say,
• 9:48
  like,
• 9:48
  this
• 9:49
  is
• 9:49
  what
• 9:49
  I
• 9:49
  want
• 9:49
  to
• 9:49
  do
• 9:49
  for
• 9:50
  a
• 9:50
  living,
• 9:50
  is
• 9:51
  be
• 9:51
  a
• 9:51
  creator
• 9:52
  to
• 9:52
  create
• 9:52
  stories?
• 9:53
  Yeah,
• 9:55
  there
• 9:55
  were
• 9:55
  definitely
• 9:55
  things
• 9:56
  I
• 9:56
  geeked
• 9:56
  out
• 9:56
  on.
• 9:58
  I
• 9:59
  wanted
• 9:59
  to
• 9:59
  write
• 9:59
  stories
• 10:00
  ever
• 10:00
  since
• 10:00
  I.
• 10:00
  I
• 10:01
  can
• 10:01
  remember,
• 10:01
  like,
• 10:01
  second
• 10:02
  grade,
• 10:02
  first
• 10:02
  grade,
• 10:03
  you
• 10:03
  know,
• 10:04
  So
• 10:04
  I
• 10:04
  can't
• 10:05
  say
• 10:06
  what
• 10:06
  it
• 10:07
  was
• 10:07
  other
• 10:08
  than
• 10:08
  I
• 10:08
  liked
• 10:09
  reading
• 10:09
  and
• 10:09
  I
• 10:09
  was
• 10:09
  somehow
• 10:10
  drawn
• 10:10
  to
• 10:10
  it,
• 10:10
  you
• 10:10
  know,
• 10:11
  Also,
• 10:13
  my
• 10:13
  grandfather,
• 10:13
  my
• 10:13
  mother's
• 10:14
  father,
• 10:15
  who
• 10:15
  I
• 10:15
  was
• 10:15
  really
• 10:16
  close
• 10:16
  with,
• 10:16
  was
• 10:16
  just
• 10:16
  an
• 10:17
  excellent
• 10:17
  Verbal
• 10:18
  storyteller,
• 10:19
  you
• 10:19
  know,
• 10:20
  he
• 10:20
  would
• 10:20
  tell
• 10:21
  stories
• 10:21
  about
• 10:21
  his
• 10:21
  experiences
• 10:22
  in
• 10:22
  World
• 10:22
  War
• 10:22
  II
• 10:23
  or
• 10:23
  growing
• 10:24
  up
• 10:24
  in
• 10:24
  the
• 10:24
  Depression
• 10:24
  or
• 10:25
  any
• 10:25
  of
• 10:25
  those
• 10:25
  kinds
• 10:25
  of
• 10:25
  things.
• 10:26
  And
• 10:26
  I
• 10:26
  was
• 10:26
  always
• 10:26
  just
• 10:26
  fascinated.
• 10:28
  He
• 10:29
  was,
• 10:29
  like,
• 10:29
  listening
• 10:29
  to
• 10:29
  an
• 10:29
  old
• 10:30
  radio
• 10:30
  program,
• 10:30
  you
• 10:31
  know.
• 10:31
  He
• 10:31
  was
• 10:31
  just
• 10:31
  really
• 10:31
  good
• 10:31
  at
• 10:32
  telling
• 10:32
  stories.
• 10:32
  So
• 10:33
  I
• 10:33
  don't
• 10:33
  know
• 10:33
  if
• 10:33
  it
• 10:33
  came
• 10:33
  from
• 10:33
  there.
• 10:35
  I
• 10:36
  just,
• 10:36
  like
• 10:36
  I
• 10:36
  say,
• 10:37
  I
• 10:37
  always
• 10:37
  wanted
• 10:38
  to
• 10:38
  do
• 10:38
  it.
• 10:39
  Things
• 10:39
  I
• 10:39
  did
• 10:39
  geek
• 10:40
  out
• 10:40
  about,
• 10:40
  though.
• 10:41
  Oh,
• 10:42
  man,
• 10:42
  one
• 10:42
  of
• 10:42
  these
• 10:42
  hurts
• 10:43
  to
• 10:43
  this
• 10:43
  day
• 10:44
  is
• 10:45
  a
• 10:45
  bunch
• 10:45
  of
• 10:45
  stuff.
• 10:46
  Superman
• 10:47
  2.
• 10:47
  I
• 10:47
  remember
• 10:47
  seeing
• 10:47
  Superman
• 10:48
  2
• 10:48
  in
• 10:48
  theater,
• 10:48
  you
• 10:48
  know,
• 10:49
  so
• 10:49
  the
• 10:49
  Christopher
• 10:49
  Reeve
• 10:50
  Superman
• 10:50
  things
• 10:50
  are
• 10:51
  huge
• 10:51
  for
• 10:51
  me.
• 10:51
  Superman,
• 10:52
  even
• 10:52
  though
• 10:52
  I
• 10:52
  never
• 10:52
  read
• 10:52
  comics,
• 10:53
  was
• 10:53
  always
• 10:54
  like
• 10:54
  one
• 10:54
  of
• 10:54
  my
• 10:54
  very
• 10:55
  favorite
• 10:55
  fictional
• 10:55
  characters,
• 10:56
  which
• 10:56
  is
• 10:57
  weird
• 10:57
  that
• 10:57
  I
• 10:57
  wouldn't
• 10:57
  read
• 10:58
  comics.
• 10:58
  But
• 10:58
  I
• 10:58
  guess
• 10:58
  I
• 10:58
  thought
• 10:58
  of
• 10:59
  him
• 10:59
  more
• 10:59
  as
• 10:59
  a
• 10:59
  movie
• 10:59
  person,
• 11:00
  you
• 11:00
  know,
• 11:01
  than
• 11:01
  a
• 11:01
  comic.
• 11:02
  Than
• 11:03
  a
• 11:03
  comic
• 11:03
  person.
• 11:04
  In
• 11:04
  high
• 11:05
  school,
• 11:05
  I
• 11:05
  read
• 11:05
  a
• 11:05
  lot
• 11:05
  of
• 11:06
  Stephen
• 11:06
  King.
• 11:07
  Was
• 11:07
  a
• 11:07
  big
• 11:07
  fan
• 11:08
  of
• 11:08
  Stephen
• 11:08
  King,
• 11:08
  which
• 11:08
  is
• 11:09
  crazy,
• 11:09
  because
• 11:09
  I
• 11:09
  can't
• 11:09
  tolerate
• 11:10
  horror
• 11:11
  at
• 11:11
  all.
• 11:11
  Now,
• 11:12
  my
• 11:13
  good
• 11:13
  friend
• 11:13
  Brock
• 11:13
  McKinney,
• 11:14
  who
• 11:14
  you
• 11:14
  all
• 11:14
  know,
• 11:15
  a
• 11:15
  big
• 11:16
  horror
• 11:16
  guy,
• 11:17
  and
• 11:18
  he'll
• 11:18
  ask
• 11:18
  me
• 11:18
  if
• 11:19
  I've
• 11:19
  seen
• 11:19
  a
• 11:19
  movie,
• 11:19
  and
• 11:20
  I'm
• 11:20
  always
• 11:20
  like,
• 11:20
  no,
• 11:20
  dude,
• 11:20
  I
• 11:20
  haven't
• 11:21
  seen
• 11:21
  that
• 11:21
  movie.
• 11:21
  I've
• 11:21
  seen,
• 11:21
  like,
• 11:21
  maybe
• 11:22
  three
• 11:22
  horror
• 11:23
  movies
• 11:23
  in
• 11:23
  my
• 11:23
  life.
• 11:23
  You
• 11:24
  know,
• 11:24
  I.
• 11:24
  This
• 11:25
  drives
• 11:25
  him
• 11:25
  crazy
• 11:26
  to
• 11:26
  no
• 11:27
  end.
• 11:27
  I
• 11:27
  saw
• 11:27
  alien
• 11:28
  3,
• 11:29
  then
• 11:29
  alien
• 11:30
  4,
• 11:30
  then
• 11:31
  alien
• 11:31
  2,
• 11:32
  then.
• 11:32
  And
• 11:32
  then
• 11:32
  Aliens,
• 11:33
  because
• 11:34
  I
• 11:34
  always
• 11:34
  heard
• 11:35
  that
• 11:35
  the
• 11:35
  original
• 11:35
  Alien
• 11:36
  was
• 11:36
  scary
• 11:36
  and
• 11:37
  I
• 11:37
  shouldn't
• 11:37
  see
• 11:37
  it.
• 11:38
  So
• 11:38
  I
• 11:39
  saw
• 11:39
  that
• 11:39
  one
• 11:39
  last.
• 11:40
  So
• 11:40
  when
• 11:40
  I
• 11:40
  saw
• 11:40
  Alien
• 11:41
  3,
• 11:41
  I
• 11:41
  thought
• 11:42
  it
• 11:42
  was
• 11:42
  a
• 11:42
  perfectly
• 11:42
  fine
• 11:43
  movie.
• 11:43
  I'd
• 11:43
  never
• 11:44
  seen
• 11:44
  any
• 11:44
  other
• 11:44
  Alien
• 11:45
  movies
• 11:45
  before
• 11:45
  in
• 11:45
  my
• 11:45
  life.
• 11:46
  I'm
• 11:46
  like,
• 11:46
  this
• 11:47
  is
• 11:47
  great.
• 11:47
  They're
• 11:47
  in
• 11:47
  a
• 11:48
  prison.
• 11:48
  They're
• 11:48
  running
• 11:48
  around.
• 11:49
  This
• 11:49
  thing's
• 11:49
  trying
• 11:49
  to
• 11:50
  kill
• 11:50
  them.
• 11:50
  It
• 11:50
  wasn't
• 11:51
  until
• 11:51
  years
• 11:51
  later
• 11:52
  that
• 11:52
  I
• 11:52
  watched
• 11:52
  the
• 11:52
  other
• 11:52
  ones
• 11:53
  and
• 11:53
  I
• 11:53
  realized
• 11:54
  what
• 11:54
  Alien
• 11:54
  3
• 11:55
  was
• 11:55
  to
• 11:55
  the
• 11:55
  franchise.
• 11:55
  You
• 11:56
  did,
• 11:56
  like,
• 11:56
  the
• 11:56
  reverse
• 11:56
  order?
• 11:57
  You
• 11:57
  did
• 11:57
  reverse
• 11:58
  order?
• 11:58
  I
• 11:58
  did,
• 11:58
  yeah.
• 11:59
  Yeah.
• 11:59
  That's
• 11:59
  good.
• 12:00
  Yeah,
• 12:00
  that's
• 12:00
  good.
• 12:01
  But
• 12:01
  thing
• 12:02
  I
• 12:02
  really
• 12:02
  geeked
• 12:02
  out
• 12:03
  about,
• 12:03
  I
• 12:03
  would
• 12:03
  say
• 12:03
  the
• 12:03
  biggest
• 12:05
  middle
• 12:05
  school,
• 12:05
  high
• 12:06
  school
• 12:06
  was
• 12:06
  Thundercats
• 12:07
  and
• 12:07
  Silver
• 12:07
  Hawks.
• 12:08
  And
• 12:08
  I'm
• 12:08
  not
• 12:09
  a
• 12:09
  big.
• 12:10
  I'm
• 12:10
  not
• 12:11
  a
• 12:11
  big
• 12:12
  licensed
• 12:13
  property.
• 12:13
  Like,
• 12:13
  I
• 12:13
  don't
• 12:14
  really
• 12:14
  want
• 12:14
  to
• 12:14
  write
• 12:14
  Star
• 12:14
  wars
• 12:15
  comics
• 12:15
  or
• 12:15
  Star
• 12:15
  Trek
• 12:16
  or
• 12:16
  whatever.
• 12:16
  But
• 12:17
  I
• 12:17
  always
• 12:17
  said
• 12:17
  the
• 12:17
  one
• 12:17
  thing
• 12:18
  I
• 12:18
  would
• 12:18
  love
• 12:18
  to
• 12:18
  do
• 12:18
  if
• 12:19
  it
• 12:19
  ever
• 12:19
  happened
• 12:20
  would
• 12:20
  be
• 12:20
  Thundercats
• 12:21
  or
• 12:21
  Silverhawks.
• 12:22
  And
• 12:22
  then,
• 12:22
  of
• 12:23
  course,
• 12:23
  Dynamite
• 12:23
  is
• 12:23
  doing
• 12:24
  it.
• 12:24
  And
• 12:24
  they.
• 12:25
  They
• 12:25
  went
• 12:25
  and
• 12:25
  got
• 12:25
  other
• 12:26
  writers
• 12:26
  whatnot.
• 12:27
  So
• 12:27
  I
• 12:27
  missed
• 12:28
  my
• 12:28
  chance.
• 12:28
  But
• 12:29
  that
• 12:29
  was
• 12:30
  always
• 12:30
  a
• 12:30
  thing
• 12:30
  that
• 12:30
  I
• 12:31
  really
• 12:32
  wanted
• 12:32
  to
• 12:32
  Do.
• 12:32
  Yeah,
• 12:32
  we
• 12:33
  did
• 12:33
  Hawkman.
• 12:33
  So
• 12:34
  you
• 12:34
  kind
• 12:34
  of
• 12:34
  got,
• 12:34
  like,
• 12:35
  you
• 12:35
  know,
• 12:35
  you
• 12:36
  guys
• 12:36
  had
• 12:36
  a
• 12:36
  hawk
• 12:36
  there
• 12:37
  a
• 12:37
  little
• 12:37
  bit.
• 12:37
  A
• 12:37
  little
• 12:37
  bit.
• 12:38
  A
• 12:38
  little
• 12:38
  bit
• 12:38
  fun.
• 12:38
  Hey,
• 12:39
  Rob,
• 12:39
  speaking
• 12:39
  of
• 12:39
  horror,
• 12:40
  I
• 12:40
  have
• 12:40
  to
• 12:40
  say,
• 12:40
  as
• 12:41
  a
• 12:41
  side
• 12:41
  note
• 12:41
  here,
• 12:42
  I'm
• 12:42
  sitting
• 12:42
  here
• 12:42
  with
• 12:42
  two
• 12:43
  of
• 12:43
  the
• 12:43
  stars
• 12:43
  of
• 12:43
  the
• 12:44
  horror
• 12:44
  movie
• 12:44
  Reptile,
• 12:45
  because
• 12:45
  if
• 12:46
  I
• 12:46
  don't
• 12:46
  know,
• 12:47
  Will
• 12:47
  has
• 12:47
  a
• 12:47
  cameo
• 12:48
  at
• 12:48
  the
• 12:48
  very
• 12:48
  beginning
• 12:48
  of
• 12:48
  the
• 12:49
  movie.
• 12:49
  Rob
• 12:49
  has
• 12:50
  a
• 12:50
  cameo
• 12:50
  at
• 12:50
  the
• 12:50
  very
• 12:50
  end,
• 12:51
  says,
• 12:51
  speak
• 12:52
  of
• 12:52
  Rob
• 12:52
  McKinney.
• 12:53
  Yeah.
• 12:54
  You
• 12:54
  put
• 12:55
  your
• 12:55
  sluggle
• 12:55
  on
• 12:56
  the
• 12:56
  horn.
• 12:56
  I
• 12:56
  think
• 12:56
  they
• 12:56
  just
• 12:56
  photoshopped
• 12:57
  me
• 12:57
  in
• 12:57
  there.
• 12:58
  Yeah,
• 12:59
  that's
• 12:59
  funny.
• 12:59
  I
• 12:59
  didn't
• 13:00
  know
• 13:00
  we
• 13:00
  were
• 13:00
  in
• 13:00
  the
• 13:00
  same
• 13:00
  movie,
• 13:01
  Rob.
• 13:01
  That's
• 13:01
  kind
• 13:01
  of
• 13:03
  the
• 13:03
  opening
• 13:04
  scene
• 13:04
  in
• 13:05
  the.
• 13:05
  In
• 13:05
  the
• 13:05
  bar
• 13:05
  scene
• 13:06
  when
• 13:06
  the
• 13:06
  first
• 13:07
  scream
• 13:08
  closed
• 13:08
  in.
• 13:09
  And
• 13:10
  our
• 13:10
  direction
• 13:11
  was,
• 13:11
  you're
• 13:12
  having
• 13:12
  drinks,
• 13:12
  she's
• 13:12
  being
• 13:13
  obnoxious.
• 13:13
  Give
• 13:13
  her
• 13:13
  the
• 13:14
  stink
• 13:14
  eye.
• 13:14
  And
• 13:14
  I'm
• 13:14
  like,
• 13:14
  oh,
• 13:15
  we
• 13:15
  can
• 13:15
  do
• 13:15
  that.
• 13:15
  And
• 13:16
  so
• 13:16
  Brockton
• 13:16
  lingered
• 13:17
  on
• 13:17
  us
• 13:17
  for,
• 13:17
  like,
• 13:17
  an
• 13:17
  extra
• 13:18
  second.
• 13:18
  So
• 13:18
  I
• 13:19
  was
• 13:19
  very
• 13:19
  happy
• 13:19
  that,
• 13:19
  you
• 13:20
  know,
• 13:20
  I
• 13:20
  could.
• 13:20
  I'll
• 13:20
  start
• 13:21
  my.
• 13:21
  I'm
• 13:21
  surprised
• 13:22
  we
• 13:22
  didn't
• 13:22
  bump
• 13:22
  into
• 13:23
  each
• 13:23
  other
• 13:23
  at
• 13:23
  craft
• 13:23
  services
• 13:24
  or
• 13:24
  something,
• 13:24
  you
• 13:25
  know?
• 13:25
  That's
• 13:25
  right.
• 13:26
  I
• 13:26
  love
• 13:26
  it.
• 13:26
  And
• 13:27
  Rob,
• 13:27
  going
• 13:27
  back.
• 13:28
  So
• 13:28
  I
• 13:28
  know
• 13:28
  this
• 13:29
  story
• 13:29
  about
• 13:29
  how
• 13:30
  influential
• 13:31
  Superman
• 13:31
  2
• 13:32
  was
• 13:32
  for
• 13:32
  you,
• 13:32
  but.
• 13:33
  But
• 13:33
  going
• 13:33
  back
• 13:34
  to
• 13:34
  that,
• 13:34
  like,
• 13:34
  can
• 13:34
  you
• 13:34
  talk
• 13:35
  about
• 13:35
  how
• 13:36
  that
• 13:36
  movie
• 13:37
  specifically
• 13:38
  then,
• 13:39
  you
• 13:39
  know,
• 13:39
  came
• 13:40
  full
• 13:40
  circle
• 13:40
  years
• 13:41
  later
• 13:41
  with
• 13:41
  Superman
• 13:42
  78?
• 13:42
  Yeah.
• 13:43
  So
• 13:43
  sort
• 13:43
  of
• 13:43
  the
• 13:44
  big
• 13:45
  joke
• 13:45
  about
• 13:45
  me,
• 13:46
  you
• 13:46
  know,
• 13:46
  I
• 13:46
  went
• 13:47
  on
• 13:47
  to
• 13:47
  work
• 13:47
  at
• 13:47
  Valiant,
• 13:48
  and
• 13:48
  then
• 13:48
  I
• 13:48
  did
• 13:48
  a
• 13:49
  lot
• 13:49
  of
• 13:49
  stuff
• 13:49
  for
• 13:49
  DC
• 13:49
  for
• 13:50
  years.
• 13:51
  Green
• 13:51
  Lantern,
• 13:52
  Flash,
• 13:53
  Justice
• 13:54
  League,
• 13:55
  Hawkman,
• 13:56
  a
• 13:56
  bunch
• 13:56
  of
• 13:57
  stuff.
• 13:57
  But
• 13:57
  the
• 13:58
  thing
• 13:58
  that
• 13:58
  was
• 13:58
  always
• 13:59
  kind
• 13:59
  of
• 13:59
  the
• 13:59
  joke
• 13:59
  about
• 14:00
  me
• 14:00
  was
• 14:00
  whenever
• 14:01
  somebody
• 14:01
  would
• 14:01
  ask
• 14:02
  me
• 14:02
  to
• 14:02
  pitch
• 14:02
  for
• 14:02
  a
• 14:02
  character,
• 14:03
  I
• 14:03
  knew
• 14:03
  nothing
• 14:04
  about
• 14:04
  that
• 14:04
  character.
• 14:05
  So,
• 14:05
  like,
• 14:05
  when
• 14:05
  they
• 14:05
  asked
• 14:05
  me
• 14:05
  to
• 14:05
  pitch
• 14:06
  on
• 14:06
  Green
• 14:06
  Lantern,
• 14:07
  I
• 14:07
  was
• 14:07
  like,
• 14:08
  I
• 14:08
  guess
• 14:08
  he's
• 14:08
  green
• 14:09
  and
• 14:09
  there's
• 14:09
  a
• 14:09
  lantern,
• 14:09
  but
• 14:10
  I'm
• 14:10
  not
• 14:10
  sure
• 14:10
  what
• 14:10
  the
• 14:10
  lantern
• 14:11
  does.
• 14:12
  You
• 14:12
  know,
• 14:12
  I.
• 14:13
  I
• 14:13
  knew,
• 14:13
  like,
• 14:14
  the
• 14:14
  visual
• 14:14
  of
• 14:15
  Green
• 14:15
  Lantern
• 14:15
  from
• 14:16
  Super
• 14:16
  Friends
• 14:16
  or
• 14:17
  something,
• 14:17
  you
• 14:17
  know,
• 14:17
  but
• 14:18
  I
• 14:18
  didn't
• 14:18
  know,
• 14:19
  having
• 14:19
  never
• 14:19
  read
• 14:20
  comics.
• 14:20
  But
• 14:21
  the
• 14:21
  one
• 14:21
  thing.
• 14:22
  And
• 14:22
  it
• 14:22
  ended
• 14:22
  up
• 14:23
  being,
• 14:23
  I
• 14:23
  think,
• 14:23
  an
• 14:23
  asset
• 14:24
  to
• 14:24
  me
• 14:24
  because
• 14:24
  for
• 14:24
  better
• 14:25
  or
• 14:25
  for
• 14:25
  worse,
• 14:27
  the
• 14:27
  way
• 14:27
  I
• 14:27
  always
• 14:27
  say
• 14:28
  is,
• 14:28
  you
• 14:28
  can't
• 14:28
  fake
• 14:28
  stupid.
• 14:29
  Like,
• 14:29
  if
• 14:29
  I
• 14:30
  had
• 14:30
  always
• 14:30
  read
• 14:30
  Green
• 14:31
  Lantern
• 14:31
  when
• 14:31
  they
• 14:31
  asked
• 14:31
  me
• 14:32
  to
• 14:32
  pitch
• 14:32
  for
• 14:32
  Green
• 14:32
  Lantern,
• 14:33
  I
• 14:33
  wouldn't
• 14:33
  be
• 14:33
  able
• 14:34
  to
• 14:34
  give
• 14:34
  him
• 14:34
  maybe
• 14:34
  a
• 14:34
  fresh
• 14:35
  take
• 14:35
  because
• 14:36
  I
• 14:36
  couldn't
• 14:36
  pretend
• 14:37
  I
• 14:37
  hadn't
• 14:37
  read
• 14:37
  all
• 14:37
  that
• 14:38
  stuff
• 14:38
  and
• 14:38
  already
• 14:38
  knew
• 14:39
  it.
• 14:39
  So
• 14:39
  all
• 14:39
  these
• 14:40
  things
• 14:40
  I
• 14:40
  pitch
• 14:40
  for,
• 14:40
  I
• 14:41
  pitch
• 14:41
  for
• 14:41
  from
• 14:42
  when
• 14:42
  they
• 14:42
  asked
• 14:42
  me
• 14:43
  to
• 14:43
  pitch
• 14:43
  a
• 14:43
  Valiant.
• 14:44
  I
• 14:44
  was
• 14:44
  like,
• 14:44
  man,
• 14:44
  not
• 14:44
  only
• 14:44
  have
• 14:44
  I
• 14:45
  never
• 14:45
  heard
• 14:45
  of
• 14:45
  those
• 14:45
  characters,
• 14:45
  I've
• 14:46
  never
• 14:46
  heard
• 14:46
  of
• 14:46
  Valiant.
• 14:46
  I
• 14:46
  don't
• 14:47
  even
• 14:47
  know
• 14:47
  what
• 14:47
  that
• 14:47
  is.
• 14:48
  No.
• 14:48
  Because
• 14:48
  Valiant
• 14:49
  had
• 14:49
  come
• 14:49
  and
• 14:49
  gone
• 14:50
  before
• 14:50
  I
• 14:50
  started
• 14:50
  reading
• 14:51
  comics.
• 14:52
  But
• 14:53
  the
• 14:53
  one
• 14:53
  thing
• 14:53
  that
• 14:53
  everybody
• 14:54
  knew
• 14:54
  that
• 14:54
  I
• 14:54
  loved
• 14:54
  was
• 14:55
  Christopher
• 14:55
  Reeve,
• 14:55
  Superman.
• 14:56
  And
• 14:57
  so
• 14:57
  Andrew
• 14:58
  Marino,
• 14:58
  who
• 14:58
  had
• 14:58
  been
• 14:58
  my
• 14:59
  editor
• 14:59
  on
• 14:59
  Green
• 14:59
  Lantern,
• 15:00
  Hawkman,
• 15:01
  Freedom
• 15:02
  Fighters,
• 15:05
  gosh,
• 15:05
  a
• 15:05
  lot
• 15:05
  of
• 15:06
  different
• 15:06
  things.
• 15:08
  He
• 15:08
  had
• 15:09
  the
• 15:09
  idea
• 15:09
  to
• 15:09
  do
• 15:09
  a
• 15:09
  Batman
• 15:10
  89
• 15:10
  in
• 15:10
  the
• 15:10
  Superman
• 15:11
  78
• 15:12
  miniseries.
• 15:13
  And
• 15:13
  he
• 15:14
  reached
• 15:14
  out
• 15:14
  to
• 15:14
  me
• 15:14
  to
• 15:15
  pitch
• 15:15
  it,
• 15:15
  because
• 15:16
  I
• 15:16
  get,
• 15:16
  you
• 15:17
  know,
• 15:17
  he
• 15:17
  knew
• 15:17
  this
• 15:17
  was
• 15:17
  the
• 15:17
  one
• 15:17
  thing
• 15:18
  that
• 15:18
  I
• 15:18
  liked
• 15:19
  and
• 15:19
  the.
• 15:19
  The
• 15:19
  continuity
• 15:20
  that
• 15:20
  I
• 15:20
  was
• 15:20
  familiar
• 15:20
  with.
• 15:21
  And
• 15:21
  so
• 15:21
  I
• 15:22
  ended
• 15:22
  up
• 15:22
  getting
• 15:22
  to
• 15:22
  write
• 15:23
  two
• 15:24
  Superman
• 15:24
  78
• 15:25
  miniseries,
• 15:25
  each
• 15:26
  one
• 15:26
  six
• 15:26
  issues.
• 15:27
  And
• 15:27
  that
• 15:27
  was
• 15:28
  great
• 15:28
  fun.
• 15:28
  You
• 15:28
  know,
• 15:29
  that
• 15:29
  was
• 15:29
  not
• 15:30
  even
• 15:30
  really
• 15:30
  a
• 15:30
  dream
• 15:31
  project
• 15:31
  because
• 15:31
  it
• 15:31
  wasn't
• 15:32
  something
• 15:32
  I
• 15:32
  ever
• 15:32
  thought
• 15:33
  would
• 15:33
  exist.
• 15:34
  Because
• 15:34
  if
• 15:34
  there
• 15:34
  were
• 15:34
  going
• 15:34
  to
• 15:35
  be
• 15:35
  comics
• 15:36
  for
• 15:36
  Superman
• 15:36
  78,
• 15:37
  it
• 15:37
  would
• 15:37
  have
• 15:37
  happened
• 15:37
  already.
• 15:38
  Right.
• 15:38
  And
• 15:38
  so.
• 15:39
  Right.
• 15:39
  I
• 15:40
  never
• 15:40
  sat
• 15:40
  back
• 15:40
  like
• 15:40
  I
• 15:41
  did
• 15:41
  with
• 15:41
  Thundercats
• 15:41
  and
• 15:41
  Silverhawks
• 15:42
  and
• 15:42
  say,
• 15:42
  maybe
• 15:43
  someday,
• 15:43
  you
• 15:43
  know,
• 15:43
  like,
• 15:44
  clearly,
• 15:44
  Superman
• 15:44
  78,
• 15:45
  if
• 15:45
  there
• 15:45
  were
• 15:45
  going
• 15:45
  to
• 15:45
  be
• 15:45
  comics,
• 15:46
  it
• 15:46
  would
• 15:46
  have
• 15:46
  already
• 15:46
  happened,
• 15:46
  but
• 15:47
  they
• 15:47
  hadn't.
• 15:47
  So
• 15:48
  really
• 15:49
  was
• 15:49
  a
• 15:49
  dream
• 15:49
  project.
• 15:50
  Would
• 15:50
  love
• 15:50
  to
• 15:51
  do
• 15:51
  more
• 15:51
  of
• 15:51
  it
• 15:51
  someday
• 15:51
  if
• 15:51
  we
• 15:52
  get
• 15:52
  the
• 15:52
  chance.
• 15:52
  Well,
• 15:53
  I
• 15:53
  like
• 15:53
  that.
• 15:54
  You
• 15:54
  know,
• 15:54
  we
• 15:54
  all.
• 15:55
  When
• 15:55
  it
• 15:55
  comes
• 15:55
  to
• 15:55
  Superman
• 15:56
  and
• 15:56
  the
• 15:56
  movies,
• 15:57
  the
• 15:57
  one
• 15:58
  villain
• 15:58
  or
• 15:59
  the
• 15:59
  character
• 15:59
  that
• 16:00
  hasn't
• 16:00
  shown
• 16:00
  up
• 16:00
  yet,
• 16:00
  there's
• 16:01
  like,
• 16:01
  the
• 16:01
  big
• 16:01
  bad
• 16:01
  that
• 16:02
  we
• 16:02
  all
• 16:02
  want
• 16:02
  to
• 16:02
  see
• 16:02
  is
• 16:02
  Brainiac.
• 16:03
  And
• 16:03
  it
• 16:03
  looks
• 16:03
  like
• 16:03
  that's
• 16:04
  going
• 16:04
  to
• 16:04
  happen
• 16:04
  when
• 16:04
  James
• 16:05
  Gun
• 16:05
  universe.
• 16:06
  But
• 16:06
  you.
• 16:06
  You
• 16:07
  got
• 16:07
  to
• 16:07
  do
• 16:07
  that.
• 16:07
  You
• 16:08
  got
• 16:08
  to
• 16:08
  do
• 16:08
  that
• 16:09
  in
• 16:09
  the,
• 16:09
  like,
• 16:09
  oh,
• 16:09
  what
• 16:10
  Superman
• 16:11
  3
• 16:11
  would
• 16:11
  have
• 16:11
  been
• 16:11
  great
• 16:12
  with
• 16:12
  Brainiac.
• 16:13
  And
• 16:13
  then
• 16:13
  you
• 16:14
  get,
• 16:15
  did
• 16:15
  you
• 16:16
  know
• 16:16
  anything
• 16:16
  about
• 16:16
  Brainiac
• 16:17
  or
• 16:17
  have
• 16:17
  to
• 16:17
  do
• 16:17
  any
• 16:17
  research
• 16:18
  or.
• 16:18
  I
• 16:19
  did
• 16:19
  it
• 16:19
  that
• 16:19
  way
• 16:20
  because,
• 16:20
  you
• 16:20
  know,
• 16:20
  I've
• 16:20
  been
• 16:20
  in.
• 16:21
  Yeah,
• 16:21
  I'd
• 16:21
  been
• 16:21
  operating
• 16:22
  in
• 16:22
  the
• 16:22
  DC
• 16:22
  universe
• 16:23
  for
• 16:23
  a
• 16:23
  really
• 16:23
  long
• 16:23
  time.
• 16:24
  And
• 16:24
  so
• 16:24
  I
• 16:25
  would
• 16:25
  read,
• 16:25
  you
• 16:26
  know,
• 16:26
  they
• 16:26
  send
• 16:26
  you
• 16:26
  every
• 16:26
  issue
• 16:27
  that
• 16:27
  they
• 16:27
  publish
• 16:27
  every
• 16:28
  month,
• 16:28
  and
• 16:28
  so
• 16:28
  I
• 16:28
  would
• 16:28
  read
• 16:29
  them.
• 16:29
  So
• 16:29
  I'm
• 16:30
  up
• 16:30
  on
• 16:30
  what's
• 16:30
  happening
• 16:31
  in
• 16:31
  other
• 16:31
  books
• 16:31
  and
• 16:31
  elsewhere
• 16:32
  in
• 16:32
  the
• 16:32
  universe
• 16:32
  and
• 16:32
  things.
• 16:33
  So
• 16:33
  by
• 16:33
  that
• 16:33
  point,
• 16:34
  I'd
• 16:34
  read
• 16:34
  some
• 16:34
  Brainiac
• 16:35
  stories.
• 16:35
  You
• 16:35
  know,
• 16:36
  late
• 16:36
  new
• 16:37
  52
• 16:37
  forward
• 16:38
  was
• 16:38
  basically
• 16:38
  my
• 16:39
  DC
• 16:39
  knowledge,
• 16:40
  you
• 16:40
  know,
• 16:41
  so
• 16:41
  I
• 16:41
  understood
• 16:42
  the
• 16:42
  basic
• 16:42
  mechanics
• 16:42
  of
• 16:42
  Brainiac.
• 16:43
  But
• 16:47
  the
• 16:47
  nice

  the
• 16:48
  Superman
• 16:48

• 16:49
  continuity
• 16:50
  is
• 16:50
  you
• 16:50
  can
• 16:50
  kind
• 16:50
  of
• 16:51
  take
• 16:51
  those
• 16:51
  basic
• 16:51
  things
• 16:52
  and
• 16:52
  then
• 16:53
  do
• 16:53
  with
• 16:53
  them
• 16:53
  what
• 16:53
  you
• 16:54
  want
• 16:54
  a
• 16:54
  little
• 16:54
  bit,
• 16:54
  you
• 16:54
  know,
• 16:55
  in
• 16:55
  the
• 16:55
  same
• 16:55
  way
• 16:55
  they
• 16:55
  did
• 16:55
  with
• 16:55
  Lex
• 16:56
  Luthor
• 16:56
  and
• 16:56
  all
• 16:56
  those
• 16:56
  things.
• 16:57
  I
• 16:57
  wasn't
• 16:57
  writing
• 16:58
  the
• 16:58
  DC
• 16:59
  Universe
• 16:59
  version
• 16:59
  of
• 16:59
  Brainiac.
• 17:00
  I
• 17:00
  was
• 17:00
  writing
• 17:01
  what
• 17:01
  the
• 17:01
  version
• 17:01
  of
• 17:01
  Brainiac
• 17:02
  might
• 17:02
  have
• 17:02
  been,
• 17:03
  had
• 17:03
  Donner
• 17:04
  and
• 17:04
  Puzo,
• 17:05
  you
• 17:05
  know,
• 17:06
  non
• 17:06
  Brainiac.
• 17:07
  And
• 17:07
  so
• 17:08
  he
• 17:08
  was
• 17:08
  filtering
• 17:09
  it
• 17:09
  through
• 17:09
  that
• 17:09
  lens.
• 17:10
  That
• 17:10
  version
• 17:10
  of
• 17:10
  Lois
• 17:10
  Lane,
• 17:11
  that
• 17:11
  version
• 17:11
  of
• 17:11
  Lex
• 17:12
  Luthor,
• 17:12
  that
• 17:12
  version
• 17:13
  of
• 17:13
  Superman,
• 17:13
  that
• 17:14
  version
• 17:14
  of
• 17:14
  Jimmy
• 17:14
  Olsen,
• 17:15
  you
• 17:15
  know,
• 17:15
  those
• 17:16
  kinds
• 17:16
  of
• 17:16
  things.
• 17:16
  And
• 17:17
  it
• 17:18
  was
• 17:18
  great
• 17:18
  fun
• 17:18
  to
• 17:18
  do.
• 17:18
  And,
• 17:19
  you
• 17:19
  know,
• 17:19
  that
• 17:19
  book
• 17:19
  we
• 17:20
  worked,
• 17:21
  the
• 17:21
  artist
• 17:21
  on
• 17:21
  that
• 17:21
  book
• 17:22
  was
• 17:22
  Wilfredo
• 17:22
  Torres,
• 17:23
  who's
• 17:24
  an
• 17:24
  amazing
• 17:24
  talent.
• 17:24
  It
• 17:25
  was
• 17:25
  his
• 17:25
  genius
• 17:25
  to
• 17:27
  sort
• 17:27
  of
• 17:27
  cast
• 17:28
  Brainiac
• 17:28
  as
• 17:28
  David
• 17:29
  Bowie,
• 17:30
  which
• 17:30
  is
• 17:30
  amazing.
• 17:31
  I'm
• 17:31
  a
• 17:31
  huge
• 17:31
  David
• 17:32
  Bowie
• 17:32
  fan
• 17:32
  and
• 17:32
  never
• 17:33
  occurred
• 17:34
  until
• 17:34
  he
• 17:34
  did
• 17:34
  it.
• 17:34
  And
• 17:35
  I
• 17:35
  was
• 17:35
  just
• 17:35
  like,
• 17:35
  oh,
• 17:35
  man,
• 17:36
  that's
• 17:36
  what
• 17:36
  a
• 17:36
  great
• 17:36
  choice.
• 17:37
  You
• 17:37
  know,
• 17:37
  you
• 17:38
  could
• 17:38
  totally
• 17:38
  see
• 17:38
  that.
• 17:39
  And
• 17:40
  so,
• 17:41
  yeah,
• 17:41
  one
• 17:41
  of
• 17:41
  the
• 17:42
  books
• 17:42
  I'm
• 17:43
  definitely
• 17:43
  proudest
• 17:43
  of
• 17:44
  in
• 17:44
  my
• 17:44
  career.
• 17:44
  I
• 17:45
  feel
• 17:45
  like
• 17:45
  I
• 17:45
  can
• 17:45
  hand
• 17:45
  it
• 17:45
  to
• 17:46
  anybody.
• 17:46
  And
• 17:47
  it's
• 17:48
  got
• 17:48
  a
• 17:48
  lot
• 17:48
  of
• 17:48
  heart
• 17:50
  thematically.
• 17:51
  It's
• 17:51
  about
• 17:51
  a
• 17:51
  lot
• 17:51
  of
• 17:51
  the
• 17:51
  things
• 17:52
  that
• 17:52
  I
• 17:52
  like
• 17:52
  to
• 17:53
  have
• 17:53
  in
• 17:53
  my
• 17:53
  stories
• 17:54
  and
• 17:54
  so
• 17:55
  really,
• 17:55
  really
• 17:55
  happy,
• 17:56
  you
• 17:56
  know.
• 17:56
  Yeah.
• 17:57
  Yeah,
• 17:57
  you
• 17:57
  should
• 17:57
  be.
• 17:58
  That's.
• 17:58
  That's.
• 17:58
  It's
• 17:58
  a
• 17:58
  great
• 17:59
  book
• 17:59
  and
• 17:59
  love
• 18:00
  getting
• 18:00
  it
• 18:00
  and
• 18:00
  reading
• 18:01
  it.
• 18:01
  And
• 18:01
  it's,
• 18:01
  you
• 18:01
  know,
• 18:02
  I
• 18:02
  think,
• 18:02
  you
• 18:02
  know,
• 18:03
  one
• 18:03
  of
• 18:03
  the
• 18:03
  first
• 18:03
  movies
• 18:04
  I
• 18:04
  saw
• 18:04
  with
• 18:05
  my
• 18:05
  family
• 18:05
  in
• 18:05
  the
• 18:06
  theater
• 18:06
  was
• 18:06
  Star
• 18:07
  wars,
• 18:07
  but
• 18:07
  also
• 18:08
  Superman,
• 18:09
  that.
• 18:10
  That
• 18:10
  first
• 18:10
  one,
• 18:10
  and
• 18:10
  then
• 18:11
  we
• 18:11
  couldn't
• 18:11
  wait
• 18:11
  for
• 18:11
  that
• 18:11
  sequel.
• 18:12
  And
• 18:12
  then
• 18:12
  we
• 18:12
  see
• 18:12
  them
• 18:13
  kind
• 18:13
  of
• 18:13
  like,
• 18:14
  you
• 18:14
  know,
• 18:15
  we
• 18:15
  have.
• 18:15
  We
• 18:15
  have
• 18:15
  Zod
• 18:16
  and
• 18:16
  the
• 18:16
  whole
• 18:16
  whole
• 18:17
  family,
• 18:17
  like,
• 18:17
  powered
• 18:18
  up
• 18:18
  and
• 18:18
  doing.
• 18:19
  Seeing
• 18:19
  Superman
• 18:20
  at
• 18:20
  his
• 18:20
  best.
• 18:21
  Not
• 18:21
  holding
• 18:21
  back
• 18:22
  with
• 18:22
  the
• 18:22
  superpowers
• 18:23
  was
• 18:23
  really
• 18:23
  a
• 18:24
  lot
• 18:24
  of
• 18:24
  fun
• 18:24
  then
• 18:24
  to
• 18:24
  see
• 18:24
  that
• 18:25
  continued
• 18:25
  in
• 18:25
  your
• 18:27
  older
• 18:27
  comic
• 18:27
  book
• 18:27
  reader.
• 18:28
  It
• 18:28
  just
• 18:28
  took
• 18:28
  me
• 18:28
  right
• 18:29
  back
• 18:29
  to
• 18:29
  that
• 18:29
  movie.
• 18:29
  But
• 18:29
  also,
• 18:30
  you
• 18:30
  know,
• 18:30
  captured,
• 18:31
  I
• 18:31
  think,
• 18:32
  who
• 18:32
  Superman
• 18:32
  is
• 18:32
  and
• 18:33
  how
• 18:33
  Christopher
• 18:34
  Reeves
• 18:34
  portrays
• 18:35
  Superman
• 18:36
  to
• 18:36
  be
• 18:37
  in
• 18:37
  your
• 18:37
  comics.
• 18:37
  So,
• 18:38
  yeah,
• 18:38
  you
• 18:38
  should
• 18:38
  super
• 18:38
  be
• 18:39
  very.
• 18:40
  Yes,
• 18:40
  I
• 18:40
  remember
• 18:41
  seeing
• 18:41
  on
• 18:41
  the
• 18:41
  Superman.
• 18:42
  I
• 18:42
  don't
• 18:43
  remember
• 18:43
  seeing
• 18:43
  the
• 18:43
  first
• 18:43
  Superman
• 18:44
  movie.
• 18:44
  I
• 18:44
  was
• 18:44
  too
• 18:44
  young.
• 18:45
  I'm
• 18:45
  sure
• 18:45
  I
• 18:45
  did.
• 18:46
  I
• 18:46
  remember
• 18:46
  seeing
• 18:47
  American
• 18:47
  Graffiti
• 18:48
  for
• 18:48
  some
• 18:48
  reason,
• 18:48
  and
• 18:48
  I
• 18:49
  think
• 18:49
  that's
• 18:49
  older
• 18:49
  than
• 18:49
  Superman,
• 18:50
  so
• 18:50
  me.
• 18:51
  But
• 18:52
  I
• 18:52
  remember
• 18:52
  falling
• 18:52
  asleep
• 18:53
  during
• 18:53
  American
• 18:53
  Graffiti.
• 18:56
  But
• 18:57
  I
• 18:57
  do
• 18:57
  remember
• 18:57
  seeing
• 18:58
  Superman
• 18:58
  2.
• 18:58
  And
• 18:59
  it
• 18:59
  was
• 18:59
  a
• 18:59
  very
• 19:00
  formative
• 19:01
  moment
• 19:01
  in
• 19:01
  my
• 19:01
  life
• 19:02
  in
• 19:02
  terms
• 19:02
  of
• 19:03
  story,
• 19:03
  and
• 19:04
  I
• 19:04
  was
• 19:04
  just
• 19:04
  at
• 19:04
  the
• 19:04
  right
• 19:04
  age
• 19:05
  when
• 19:05
  I
• 19:05
  watched
• 19:05
  it
• 19:06
  that
• 19:06
  I
• 19:06
  thought
• 19:07
  Superman
• 19:07
  was
• 19:07
  real.
• 19:07
  And
• 19:08
  he
• 19:08
  came
• 19:08
  out
• 19:08
  of
• 19:08
  the
• 19:08
  particle
• 19:09
  chamber
• 19:10
  and
• 19:10
  he
• 19:10
  lost
• 19:10
  his
• 19:10
  powers.
• 19:11
  I
• 19:11
  didn't
• 19:11
  know
• 19:11
  what
• 19:11
  the
• 19:11
  world
• 19:12
  was
• 19:12
  going
• 19:12
  to
• 19:12
  do
• 19:12
  anymore.
• 19:12
  And
• 19:13
  then
• 19:13
  he
• 19:13
  crushes
• 19:13
  Zod's
• 19:14
  hand
• 19:14
  and
• 19:14
  the
• 19:15
  score
• 19:15
  takes
• 19:15
  off,
• 19:15
  you
• 19:16
  know,
• 19:16
  and,
• 19:18
  you
• 19:18
  know,
• 19:20
  Superman
• 19:20
  had
• 19:21
  this.
• 19:21
  People
• 19:22
  don't.
• 19:22
  People
• 19:22
  always
• 19:23
  say,
• 19:23
  superman's
• 19:23
  a
• 19:23
  boy
• 19:23
  scout,
• 19:24
  and
• 19:25
  it's
• 19:25
  not
• 19:25
  realistic
• 19:26
  that
• 19:26
  somebody
• 19:27
  would
• 19:27
  do
• 19:27
  the
• 19:27
  right
• 19:27
  thing
• 19:27
  because
• 19:28
  it's
• 19:28
  the
• 19:28
  right
• 19:28
  thing
• 19:28
  to
• 19:28
  do.
• 19:28
  And
• 19:29
  I
• 19:29
  find
• 19:29
  that
• 19:29
  to
• 19:29
  be
• 19:29
  such
• 19:29
  a
• 19:30
  cynical
• 19:30
  view
• 19:30
  of
• 19:30
  the
• 19:30
  world.
• 19:31
  Like,
• 19:31
  I.
• 19:32
  I
• 19:32
  don't
• 19:32
  see
• 19:32
  the
• 19:32
  world
• 19:32
  that
• 19:33
  way.
• 19:33
  I
• 19:33
  think
• 19:33
  we're
• 19:34
  all
• 19:34
  inherently
• 19:34
  good
• 19:35
  people,
• 19:35
  not
• 19:35
  every
• 19:36
  single
• 19:36
  human
• 19:36
  being,
• 19:36
  but
• 19:37
  I
• 19:37
  think
• 19:37
  we're
• 19:37
  inherently
• 19:38
  good,
• 19:38
  not
• 19:38
  inherently
• 19:39
  bad.
• 19:40
  And
• 19:40
  I
• 19:40
  think
• 19:40
  the
• 19:40
  most
• 19:41
  of
• 19:41
  us
• 19:41
  try
• 19:42
  to
• 19:42
  do
• 19:42
  the
• 19:42
  right
• 19:42
  thing,
• 19:43
  and
• 19:43
  we
• 19:43
  don't
• 19:43
  always
• 19:43
  succeed,
• 19:44
  but
• 19:44
  when
• 19:44
  we
• 19:44
  don't,
• 19:45
  we
• 19:45
  hopefully
• 19:46
  use
• 19:46
  that
• 19:46
  experience
• 19:46
  to
• 19:47
  learn
• 19:47
  to
• 19:47
  be
• 19:47
  better.
• 19:48
  And
• 19:48
  so
• 19:49
  in
• 19:49
  Superman,
• 19:49
  I
• 19:49
  always
• 19:50
  saw
• 19:50
  a
• 19:50
  character
• 19:50
  who
• 19:50
  could
• 19:51
  do
• 19:51
  anything
• 19:51
  he
• 19:51
  wanted,
• 19:51
  and
• 19:52
  he
• 19:52
  chooses
• 19:52
  to
• 19:52
  do
• 19:52
  the
• 19:53
  right
• 19:53
  thing.
• 19:54
  And
• 19:54
  I
• 19:54
  always
• 19:54
  found
• 19:54
  that
• 19:55
  to
• 19:55
  be
• 19:55
  very
• 19:55
  inspiring
• 19:56
  and
• 19:57
  a
• 19:57
  great
• 19:58
  way
• 19:58
  to
• 19:58
  look
• 19:58
  at
• 19:58
  the
• 19:58
  world,
• 19:58
  and
• 19:59
  not
• 20:00
  really
• 20:00
  so
• 20:00
  much
• 20:00
  that
• 20:01
  I
• 20:01
  modeled
• 20:02
  myself
• 20:02
  after
• 20:02
  that,
• 20:03
  as
• 20:04
  I
• 20:04
  saw
• 20:04
  in
• 20:05
  that.
• 20:05
  A
• 20:05
  way
• 20:06
  that
• 20:06
  I
• 20:06
  wanted
• 20:06
  the
• 20:07
  world
• 20:07
  to
• 20:07
  be
• 20:07
  like
• 20:07
  something
• 20:08
  that
• 20:11
  I
• 20:11
  was
• 20:11
  already
• 20:11
  feeling
• 20:12
  inside.
• 20:12
  But
• 20:12
  you
• 20:13
  don't
• 20:13
  really
• 20:13
  see
• 20:13
  so
• 20:13
  much
• 20:14
  in
• 20:14
  our
• 20:14
  entertainment,
• 20:14
  you
• 20:15
  know,
• 20:15
  but
• 20:15
  it
• 20:15
  existed
• 20:16
  there,
• 20:16
  you
• 20:16
  know?
• 20:16
  And
• 20:17
  I
• 20:17
  think
• 20:17
  if
• 20:17
  you
• 20:17
  go
• 20:17
  and
• 20:17
  you
• 20:17
  read
• 20:18
  my
• 20:18
  stories,
• 20:20
  whatever
• 20:20
  those
• 20:20
  stories
• 20:21
  are,
• 20:22
  they
• 20:22
  always
• 20:22
  kind
• 20:22
  of
• 20:23
  have
• 20:23
  that
• 20:23
  theme,
• 20:23
  you
• 20:24
  know,
• 20:24
  this
• 20:25
  idea
• 20:25
  that
• 20:25
  people
• 20:25
  are
• 20:26
  inherently
• 20:26
  good.
• 20:27
  We
• 20:27
  never
• 20:27
  run
• 20:28
  out
• 20:28
  of
• 20:28
  second
• 20:28
  chances.
• 20:30
  We
• 20:30
  can
• 20:30
  always
• 20:30
  be
• 20:31
  better
• 20:31
  up
• 20:31
  until
• 20:31
  the
• 20:32
  time
• 20:32
  we
• 20:32
  die.
• 20:33
  And
• 20:34
  no
• 20:35
  matter
• 20:35
  who
• 20:35
  we
• 20:35
  are,
• 20:35
  there's
• 20:36
  always
• 20:36
  a
• 20:36
  chance
• 20:36
  for
• 20:37
  us,
• 20:37
  you
• 20:37
  know,
• 20:37
  and
• 20:38
  whether
• 20:38
  it's
• 20:38
  Green
• 20:38
  Lantern
• 20:39
  or
• 20:39
  Flash
• 20:39
  or
• 20:39
  Superman
• 20:40
  or
• 20:40
  Hawkman
• 20:41
  or
• 20:42
  even
• 20:43
  something
• 20:43
  that
• 20:43
  seems
• 20:44
  more
• 20:44
  gritty
• 20:44
  in
• 20:44
  crime,
• 20:45
  like
• 20:45
  Ordained
• 20:45
  or
• 20:46
  something
• 20:46
  like
• 20:46
  that,
• 20:47
  you
• 20:47
  know,
• 20:48
  those
• 20:48
  themes
• 20:48
  run
• 20:48
  throughout,
• 20:49
  I
• 20:49
  would
• 20:50
  say,
• 20:50
  pretty
• 20:50
  much
• 20:50
  everything
• 20:51
  that
• 20:51
  I've
• 20:51
  ever
• 20:51
  done,
• 20:52
  you
• 20:52
  know,
• 20:52
  so.
• 20:53
  And
• 20:53
  that's
• 20:54
  why
• 20:54
  I
• 20:54
  really
• 20:54
  like
• 20:54
  this.
• 20:55
  This
• 20:55
  newest
• 20:55
  Superman
• 20:56
  movie
• 20:56
  that.
• 20:57
  That
• 20:57
  gun
• 20:57
  did.
• 20:58
  I.
• 20:58
  I
• 20:58
  don't
• 20:59
  know.
• 20:59
  What
• 20:59
  are
• 21:00
  you
• 21:00
  creating
• 21:01
  Superman?
• 21:01
  Writing
• 21:02
  Superman
• 21:02
  and
• 21:02
  then
• 21:02
  going
• 21:03
  to
• 21:03
  see
• 21:03
  that
• 21:03
  movie
• 21:03
  or.
• 21:03
  I've
• 21:04
  seen.
• 21:04
  I'm
• 21:04
  assuming
• 21:04
  you've
• 21:04
  seen
• 21:04
  it.
• 21:05
  Like,
• 21:05
  what.
• 21:05
  What
• 21:06
  are
• 21:06
  your
• 21:06
  thoughts
• 21:06
  of
• 21:06
  the
• 21:06
  newest?
• 21:07
  But
• 21:07
  you
• 21:07
  haven't.
• 21:08
  You
• 21:08
  haven't
• 21:09
  seen
• 21:09
  it.
• 21:10
  You're
• 21:10
  doing
• 21:10
  clays.
• 21:11
  I'll
• 21:11
  be
• 21:11
  honest,
• 21:11
  I'm
• 21:12
  a
• 21:12
  little
• 21:12
  nerd.
• 21:12
  I'm
• 21:13
  a
• 21:13
  little
• 21:13
  nervous
• 21:13
  to
• 21:13
  go
• 21:14
  see
• 21:14
  it.
• 21:14
  Okay,
• 21:15
  I
• 21:15
  will.
• 21:16
  I'll
• 21:16
  watch
• 21:16
  it
• 21:16
  eventually.
• 21:17
  But
• 21:17
  it's
• 21:17
  one
• 21:17
  of
• 21:17
  those
• 21:18
  things
• 21:18
  where,
• 21:18
  like,
• 21:18
  you
• 21:19
  know,
• 21:19
  I
• 21:19
  have
• 21:20
  to
• 21:20
  be
• 21:20
  in
• 21:20
  the
• 21:20
  wide
• 21:20
  mindset
• 21:21
  to
• 21:21
  watch
• 21:21
  it,
• 21:21
  you
• 21:22
  know,
• 21:22
  because
• 21:22
  I
• 21:22
  don't.
• 21:22
  I
• 21:23
  want
• 21:23
  to.
• 21:23
  I
• 21:23
  want
• 21:23
  to
• 21:24
  do
• 21:24
  its
• 21:24
  service,
• 21:24
  you
• 21:25
  know?
• 21:25
  Like,
• 21:27
  what's
• 21:27
  another
• 21:28
  example?
• 21:28
  Like,
• 21:29
  if
• 21:29
  I
• 21:29
  was
• 21:29
  going
• 21:29
  to
• 21:29
  watch
• 21:30
  Saving
• 21:30
  Private
• 21:30
  Ryan,
• 21:32
  I
• 21:32
  need
• 21:32
  to
• 21:32
  be
• 21:32
  in
• 21:33
  the
• 21:33
  right
• 21:33
  mindset
• 21:33
  to
• 21:33
  watch
• 21:34
  Saving
• 21:34
  Private
• 21:34
  Ryan.
• 21:35
  I'm
• 21:35
  not
• 21:35
  just
• 21:35
  going
• 21:35
  to
• 21:35
  walk
• 21:36
  in
• 21:36
  and
• 21:36
  out
• 21:36
  of
• 21:36
  the
• 21:36
  room
• 21:36
  and
• 21:37
  watch
• 21:37
  Saving
• 21:37
  Private
• 21:37
  Ryan.
• 21:38
  Right.
• 21:38
  I
• 21:38
  want
• 21:38
  to
• 21:38
  give
• 21:38
  it
• 21:39
  the
• 21:39
  attention
• 21:39
  it
• 21:39
  deserves.
• 21:39
  Deserves.
• 21:40
  And
• 21:40
  Superman
• 21:40
  being
• 21:41
  such
• 21:41
  a
• 21:41
  personal
• 21:41
  character
• 21:42
  to
• 21:42
  me,
• 21:42
  I
• 21:43
  could
• 21:43
  watch
• 21:44
  a
• 21:44
  Justice
• 21:44
  League
• 21:45
  movie
• 21:45
  or
• 21:45
  a
• 21:45
  Flash
• 21:45
  movie
• 21:46
  or
• 21:46
  a
• 21:46
  Batman
• 21:47
  movie
• 21:48
  or
• 21:48
  whatever,
• 21:48
  and
• 21:49
  I
• 21:49
  could
• 21:49
  walk
• 21:49
  in
• 21:49
  and
• 21:49
  out
• 21:49
  of
• 21:49
  the
• 21:50
  room
• 21:50
  and
• 21:50
  I
• 21:50
  don't
• 21:50
  care.
• 21:50
  But
• 21:50
  if
• 21:51
  it's
• 21:51
  Superman,
• 21:51
  like,
• 21:52
  I
• 21:52
  want
• 21:52
  to
• 21:52
  make
• 21:52
  sure
• 21:53
  that
• 21:53
  I'm
• 21:53
  really
• 21:53
  there
• 21:53
  and
• 21:53
  I'm
• 21:54
  present
• 21:54
  for
• 21:54
  it.
• 21:54
  And
• 21:55
  I
• 21:55
  just
• 21:55
  haven't
• 21:55
  carved
• 21:56
  out
• 21:56
  the
• 21:56
  time,
• 21:56
  I
• 21:56
  feel
• 21:56
  like,
• 21:56
  to
• 21:57
  be
• 21:57
  able
• 21:57
  to
• 21:57
  do
• 21:57
  that,
• 21:57
  you
• 21:58
  know,
• 21:58
  But
• 21:58
  I've
• 21:58
  heard
• 21:58
  good
• 21:59
  things
• 21:59
  about
• 21:59
  it,
• 21:59
  you
• 21:59
  know,
• 22:00
  and
• 22:00
  also,
• 22:00
  it's
• 22:00
  the
• 22:00
  whole
• 22:01
  thing
• 22:01
  of,
• 22:01
  like,
• 22:01
  what
• 22:02
  you
• 22:02
  grew
• 22:02
  up
• 22:02
  with.
• 22:02
  Like,
• 22:02
  I
• 22:03
  can't
• 22:03
  imagine
• 22:04
  whatever
• 22:04
  anybody
• 22:05
  does
• 22:06
  is
• 22:06
  going
• 22:06
  to
• 22:07
  be
• 22:07
  the
• 22:07
  same
• 22:07
  as
• 22:08
  Christopher
• 22:08
  Reeve,
• 22:09
  Superman
• 22:09
  to
• 22:09
  me
• 22:09
  because
• 22:10
  of
• 22:10
  all
• 22:10
  the
• 22:10
  reasons
• 22:10
  I
• 22:10
  just
• 22:11
  said,
• 22:11
  the
• 22:11
  age
• 22:12
  when
• 22:12
  I
• 22:12
  saw
• 22:12
  it,
• 22:13
  how
• 22:13
  formative
• 22:13
  it
• 22:13
  was
• 22:14
  for
• 22:14
  me,
• 22:14
  like,
• 22:15
  just
• 22:15
  nothing's
• 22:16
  going
• 22:16
  to
• 22:16
  supplant
• 22:16
  that.
• 22:17
  Right.
• 22:17
  And
• 22:17
  so
• 22:18
  I
• 22:19
  just
• 22:19
  haven't
• 22:19
  gotten
• 22:19
  around
• 22:19
  it
• 22:20
  yet.
• 22:20
  But
• 22:20
  I
• 22:20
  will,
• 22:20
  I'll
• 22:20
  go
• 22:21
  super
• 22:21
  fair.
• 22:22
  I,
• 22:23
  the,
• 22:23
  the
• 22:23
  trailer,
• 22:24
  I,
• 22:24
  I
• 22:24
  loved
• 22:24
  and
• 22:24
  I
• 22:25
  like
• 22:25
  James
• 22:25
  Gunn's
• 22:25
  work,
• 22:25
  so
• 22:26
  I
• 22:26
  was
• 22:26
  there
• 22:26
  all
• 22:26
  in
• 22:26
  and,
• 22:27
  and,
• 22:27
  and
• 22:28
  loved
• 22:28
  it.
• 22:28
  But,
• 22:28
  you
• 22:29
  know,
• 22:29
  someone,
• 22:29
  not
• 22:29
  that
• 22:30
  long
• 22:30
  ago,
• 22:30
  I've
• 22:31
  shared
• 22:31
  this
• 22:31
  before,
• 22:31
  someone
• 22:31
  said,
• 22:32
  what's
• 22:32
  the
• 22:32
  last
• 22:32
  movie
• 22:32
  you
• 22:33
  cried
• 22:33
  at?
• 22:33
  And
• 22:33
  I
• 22:33
  was
• 22:33
  like,
• 22:33
  oh,
• 22:34
  that,
• 22:34
  that
• 22:34
  superdog
• 22:35
  movie.
• 22:35
  They're
• 22:35
  like,
• 22:36
  what?
• 22:36
  I
• 22:36
  was
• 22:36
  like,
• 22:36
  oh,
• 22:37
  the
• 22:37
  movie
• 22:37
  about
• 22:37
  Crypto.
• 22:38
  Oh,
• 22:38
  and
• 22:38
  Superman
• 22:39
  happened
• 22:39
  to
• 22:39
  be
• 22:39
  there,
• 22:39
  but
• 22:39
  Crypto.
• 22:40
  Yeah,
• 22:40
  the
• 22:40
  crypto.
• 22:41
  So
• 22:41
  I,
• 22:41
  I'm
• 22:42
  a
• 22:42
  huge
• 22:42
  dog
• 22:42
  lover
• 22:42
  and
• 22:43
  I
• 22:43
  loved
• 22:43
  how,
• 22:43
  how
• 22:43
  Crypto
• 22:44
  was
• 22:44
  and,
• 22:45
  and
• 22:45
  I,
• 22:45
  I,
• 22:45
  I
• 22:46
  love
• 22:46
  that
• 22:46
  movie.
• 22:46
  So
• 22:46
  I,
• 22:47
  I
• 22:47
  know
• 22:47
  Kevin
• 22:47
  and
• 22:47
  I
• 22:47
  both
• 22:48
  recommend
• 22:48
  it
• 22:48
  and,
• 22:49
  you
• 22:50
  know,
• 22:50
  I'm
• 22:50
  looking
• 22:50
  forward
• 22:50
  to
• 22:50
  Supergirl
• 22:51
  coming
• 22:51
  up
• 22:51
  and
• 22:51
  what
• 22:52
  they'll
• 22:52
  do
• 22:52
  next
• 22:52
  in
• 22:52
  the
• 22:53
  DC
• 22:53
  universe
• 22:54
  with,
• 22:55
  with
• 22:55
  James
• 22:55
  Gunn.
• 22:56
  But,
• 22:56
  but
• 22:56
  yeah,
• 22:56
  that's
• 22:57
  here.
• 22:57
  I
• 22:57
  can,
• 22:57
  I
• 22:57
  can
• 22:57
  imagine
• 22:58
  writing
• 22:58
  and
• 22:58
  creating
• 22:59
  Superman
• 22:59
  and
• 22:59
  then
• 22:59
  turn
• 23:00
  around
• 23:00
  and
• 23:00
  be
• 23:01
  like,
• 23:01
  you
• 23:01
  know,
• 23:02
  I
• 23:02
  got
• 23:02
  my
• 23:02
  stories,
• 23:02
  I
• 23:02
  got
• 23:02
  my
• 23:03
  love.
• 23:03
  I'll,
• 23:03
  I'll
• 23:03
  hold
• 23:03
  off
• 23:04
  and
• 23:04
  wait
• 23:04
  till
• 23:04
  the
• 23:04
  right
• 23:05
  moment.
• 23:05
  That's
• 23:05
  fair.
• 23:06
  Yeah.
• 23:06
  Sometimes
• 23:07
  too,
• 23:07
  it
• 23:07
  feels
• 23:07
  a
• 23:08
  little
• 23:08
  bit
• 23:08
  like
• 23:08
  work,
• 23:08
  you
• 23:09
  know,
• 23:09
  Like,
• 23:10
  I
• 23:10
  haven't
• 23:10
  seen
• 23:11
  a
• 23:11
  Marvel
• 23:11
  movie,
• 23:12
  I
• 23:12
  haven't
• 23:12
  seen
• 23:12
  a
• 23:12
  Marvel
• 23:13
  movie
• 23:13
  or
• 23:13
  TV
• 23:13
  show
• 23:13
  since
• 23:14
  Endgame.
• 23:16
  I
• 23:16
  guess
• 23:17
  the
• 23:17
  last
• 23:17
  DC
• 23:17
  thing
• 23:18
  I
• 23:18
  saw
• 23:18
  was
• 23:18
  probably
• 23:19
  Justice
• 23:20
  League.
• 23:20
  Think.
• 23:21
  Yeah,
• 23:21
  you
• 23:21
  know,
• 23:22
  I
• 23:22
  was
• 23:22
  lots
• 23:22
  of
• 23:22
  TV
• 23:22
  shows
• 23:23
  or
• 23:23
  anything
• 23:23
  like
• 23:23
  that
• 23:24
  because
• 23:24
  it's
• 23:24
  like,
• 23:25
  it's
• 23:25
  hard.
• 23:25
  Yeah.
• 23:26
  First
• 23:26
  of
• 23:26
  all,
• 23:27
  when
• 23:27
  you're
• 23:27
  a
• 23:27
  writer,
• 23:28
  it's
• 23:28
  hard
• 23:28
  to
• 23:29
  watch
• 23:29
  Anything.
• 23:30
  Like,
• 23:31
  I
• 23:31
  could
• 23:31
  watch
• 23:31
  documentaries
• 23:32
  all
• 23:32
  day
• 23:32
  long.
• 23:32
  I
• 23:33
  can
• 23:33
  watch
• 23:33
  sports
• 23:33
  all
• 23:34
  day
• 23:34
  long
• 23:35
  because
• 23:35
  I'm
• 23:35
  not
• 23:35
  trying.
• 23:36
  I
• 23:36
  don't
• 23:36
  see.
• 23:37
  I'm
• 23:37
  not,
• 23:38
  you
• 23:38
  know,
• 23:38
  sort
• 23:39
  of
• 23:40
  reflexively
• 23:42
  guessing
• 23:43
  what
• 23:43
  the
• 23:43
  plot
• 23:43
  turns
• 23:44
  are
• 23:44
  going
• 23:44
  to
• 23:44
  be.
• 23:44
  And
• 23:44
  here's
• 23:45
  the
• 23:45
  second
• 23:45
  act.
• 23:46
  There's
• 23:46
  the
• 23:47
  big
• 23:47
  reveal
• 23:47
  and
• 23:47
  whatever.
• 23:48
  You
• 23:48
  know,
• 23:48
  you
• 23:48
  see
• 23:48
  a
• 23:49
  lot
• 23:49
  of
• 23:49
  things
• 23:49
  coming
• 23:49
  down
• 23:49
  the
• 23:50
  track
• 23:50
  in
• 23:50
  the
• 23:50
  way
• 23:51
  that
• 23:51
  I'm
• 23:51
  sure
• 23:51
  a
• 23:51
  cop.
• 23:51
  When
• 23:52
  they
• 23:52
  watch
• 23:52
  a
• 23:52
  cop
• 23:52
  TV
• 23:53
  show,
• 23:53
  it's
• 23:53
  like
• 23:54
  they
• 23:54
  can't
• 23:54
  just
• 23:54
  separate
• 23:55
  themselves
• 23:55
  and
• 23:56
  be
• 23:56
  entertained
• 23:56
  by
• 23:56
  it.
• 23:57
  They
• 23:57
  just
• 23:57
  default
• 23:58
  into
• 23:58
  the
• 23:58
  setting,
• 23:59
  you.
• 23:59
  Know,
• 23:59
  and
• 23:59
  so,
• 24:00
  like,
• 24:00
  doctors
• 24:00
  want
• 24:01
  watching
• 24:01
  a
• 24:01
  medical
• 24:01
  show.
• 24:01
  I'm.
• 24:02
  I'm.
• 24:02
  I'm
• 24:02
  a
• 24:02
  pastor,
• 24:03
  so
• 24:03
  I.
• 24:03
  I
• 24:03
  stay
• 24:04
  away
• 24:04
  from
• 24:04
  all
• 24:04
  religious
• 24:06
  shows
• 24:06
  and
• 24:06
  movies.
• 24:07
  I
• 24:07
  did.
• 24:07
  I
• 24:08
  got.
• 24:08
  My
• 24:08
  daughter
• 24:08
  was
• 24:09
  like,
• 24:09
  dad,
• 24:09
  you
• 24:09
  have
• 24:09
  to
• 24:09
  watch
• 24:10
  the
• 24:10
  Good
• 24:10
  Place.
• 24:10
  I
• 24:11
  was
• 24:11
  like,
• 24:11
  no,
• 24:11
  I'm
• 24:11
  staying
• 24:11
  away
• 24:11
  from
• 24:12
  that.
• 24:12
  I'm
• 24:12
  probably
• 24:12
  gonna
• 24:12
  be
• 24:12
  really
• 24:12
  judgy.
• 24:13
  I
• 24:13
  don't
• 24:13
  want
• 24:13
  to
• 24:13
  do
• 24:13
  it.
• 24:13
  But
• 24:13
  she's
• 24:13
  like,
• 24:14
  no,
• 24:14
  you're
• 24:14
  gonna
• 24:14
  love
• 24:14
  it.
• 24:14
  And
• 24:15
  as
• 24:15
  I
• 24:15
  watched
• 24:15
  the
• 24:15
  first
• 24:15
  episode,
• 24:16
  yep,
• 24:16
  it's
• 24:16
  one
• 24:16
  of
• 24:16
  the
• 24:16
  best
• 24:16
  things
• 24:17
  I've
• 24:17
  ever
• 24:17
  seen.
• 24:17
  And
• 24:18
  I'll
• 24:18
  follow
• 24:18
  all
• 24:18
  the
• 24:18
  way
• 24:18
  through.
• 24:18
  It
• 24:19
  was
• 24:19
  my
• 24:19
  favorite.
• 24:19
  So
• 24:19
  I.
• 24:20
  I
• 24:20
  eventually
• 24:20
  was
• 24:21
  like,
• 24:21
  whatever,
• 24:21
  but
• 24:21
  I
• 24:21
  can
• 24:21
  understand,
• 24:22
  like,
• 24:22
  you're
• 24:22
  too.
• 24:22
  When
• 24:23
  you're
• 24:23
  too
• 24:23
  close
• 24:23
  to
• 24:23
  something,
• 24:24
  you're
• 24:25
  like.
• 24:25
  Or
• 24:26
  you
• 24:26
  feel
• 24:26
  like
• 24:26
  it's
• 24:27
  going
• 24:27
  to
• 24:27
  mess
• 24:27
  in
• 24:27
  your
• 24:27
  headspace
• 24:28
  of.
• 24:28
  Of
• 24:28
  your
• 24:28
  creative
• 24:29
  process.
• 24:29
  Super
• 24:30
  fair.
• 24:30
  Super
• 24:31
  fair.
• 24:31
  Yeah.
• 24:32
  So
• 24:32
  I'll
• 24:32
  give
• 24:33
  her.
• 24:33
  Because.
• 24:34
  Sure.
• 24:35
  I
• 24:35
  was
• 24:35
  going
• 24:35
  to
• 24:35
  say
• 24:35
  I'm
• 24:36
  really
• 24:36
  curious
• 24:36
  to
• 24:36
  see
• 24:36
  what.
• 24:37
  When
• 24:37
  we
• 24:37
  get
• 24:37
  to
• 24:37
  the
• 24:38
  end,
• 24:38
  what
• 24:38
  you're
• 24:38
  geeking
• 24:39
  out
• 24:39
  will
• 24:39
  be
• 24:39
  because
• 24:39
  we've
• 24:40
  talked
• 24:40
  about
• 24:40
  that
• 24:40
  before
• 24:40
  how,
• 24:41
  like,
• 24:41
  a
• 24:41
  lot
• 24:41
  of
• 24:42
  comic
• 24:42
  creators,
• 24:42
  like,
• 24:43
  don't
• 24:43
  really
• 24:44
  watch.
• 24:44
  I
• 24:45
  mean,
• 24:45
  some
• 24:45
  do,
• 24:45
  but
• 24:45
  not
• 24:46
  all
• 24:46
  watch,
• 24:46
  like,
• 24:47
  the
• 24:47
  superhero
• 24:47
  movies
• 24:47
  and
• 24:48
  stuff
• 24:48
  like
• 24:48
  that
• 24:48
  for
• 24:48
  entertainment
• 24:49
  because
• 24:49
  you're
• 24:49
  living
• 24:50
  in
• 24:50
  this
• 24:50
  world
• 24:50
  from
• 24:51
  nine
• 24:51
  to
• 24:51
  five
• 24:51
  every
• 24:52
  day.
• 24:52
  But,
• 24:53
  Rob,
• 24:53
  that
• 24:53
  died.
• 24:55
  Well,
• 24:55
  I'm
• 24:55
  glad
• 24:55
  you
• 24:55
  brought
• 24:56
  up
• 24:56
  Ordained,
• 24:57
  because
• 24:57
  I
• 24:57
  do.
• 24:58
  We
• 24:58
  want
• 24:58
  to
• 24:58
  talk
• 24:58
  about
• 24:59
  this
• 24:59
  book.
• 24:59
  And
• 24:59
  there's.
• 25:00
  And
• 25:01
  Rob,
• 25:01
  I'm
• 25:01
  glad
• 25:01
  you
• 25:01
  said
• 25:02
  too,
• 25:02
  that
• 25:03
  despite
• 25:04
  the
• 25:04
  different
• 25:05
  genres
• 25:05
  you
• 25:05
  work
• 25:05
  in
• 25:06
  and
• 25:06
  different
• 25:06
  types
• 25:07
  of
• 25:07
  characters,
• 25:08
  a
• 25:08
  lot
• 25:08
  of
• 25:08
  the
• 25:08
  themes
• 25:09
  in
• 25:09
  your
• 25:09
  stories
• 25:10
  are
• 25:10
  kind
• 25:10
  of
• 25:10
  across
• 25:11
  the
• 25:11
  border.
• 25:12
  So.
• 25:13
  Yeah,
• 25:13
  well,
• 25:13
  I
• 25:13
  know
• 25:13
  you
• 25:14
  got
• 25:14
  to
• 25:14
  read
• 25:14
  this
• 25:14
  one
• 25:14
  first,
• 25:15
  and
• 25:15
  I
• 25:15
  read
• 25:15
  it
• 25:15
  last
• 25:15
  night,
• 25:15
  really
• 25:16
  enjoyed
• 25:16
  it.
• 25:16
  But.
• 25:17
  But
• 25:18
  yeah.
• 25:19
  So
• 25:19
  let's
• 25:19
  get
• 25:19
  into
• 25:20
  this
• 25:20
  conversation.
• 25:22
  Yeah.
• 25:22
  Rob,
• 25:23
  what
• 25:23
  was
• 25:23
  the.
• 25:24
  Was
• 25:24
  it
• 25:24
  your
• 25:24
  pitch?
• 25:24
  Was
• 25:25
  someone
• 25:25
  pitching
• 25:25
  to
• 25:25
  you
• 25:26
  where
• 25:26
  this
• 25:26
  come
• 25:26
  from?
• 25:27
  Was
• 25:27
  this
• 25:27
  something
• 25:27
  you
• 25:27
  had
• 25:28
  in
• 25:28
  your
• 25:28
  mind
• 25:28
  you
• 25:28
  wanted
• 25:28
  to
• 25:28
  put
• 25:29
  out
• 25:29
  or,
• 25:29
  you
• 25:30
  know,
• 25:30
  where.
• 25:30
  Where
• 25:30
  did
• 25:30
  the
• 25:31
  Origin
• 25:31
  story
• 25:31
  for
• 25:31
  this
• 25:32
  particular
• 25:32
  story
• 25:33
  or

  comment
• 25:33
  come
• 25:33
  from?
• 25:34
  Yeah,
• 25:34
  it
• 25:34
  was
• 25:35
  my
• 25:35
  idea.
• 25:35
  It's
• 25:35
  hard
• 25:36
  to
• 25:36
  say
• 25:36
  where
• 25:36
  ideas
• 25:37
  come
• 25:37
  from,
• 25:37
  you
• 25:37
  know,
• 25:38
  like,
• 25:38
  I
• 25:38
  don't
• 25:38
  know,
• 25:38
  like,
• 25:38
  all
• 25:39
  of
• 25:39
  a
• 25:39
  sudden
• 25:39
  there'll
• 25:39
  be
• 25:39
  an
• 25:39
  idea.
• 25:39
  And
• 25:40
  there
• 25:40
  wasn't
• 25:40
  a
• 25:40
  second
• 25:40
  ago,
• 25:41
  you
• 25:41
  know,
• 25:41
  but
• 25:42
  I
• 25:42
  had
• 25:42
  this
• 25:43
  idea
• 25:43
  for.
• 25:44
  I'm
• 25:44
  Catholic,
• 25:45
  you
• 25:45
  know,
• 25:45
  so
• 25:45
  I'm
• 25:45
  familiar
• 25:46
  with
• 25:46
  the
• 25:46
  process
• 25:46
  of
• 25:46
  going
• 25:47
  to
• 25:47
  confession
• 25:48
  and
• 25:48
  all
• 25:48
  those
• 25:48
  kinds
• 25:48
  of
• 25:48
  things.
• 25:50
  And
• 25:50
  I
• 25:50
  had
• 25:51
  an
• 25:51
  experience
• 25:51
  with
• 25:51
  my
• 25:51
  grandfather
• 25:53
  that
• 25:53
  I
• 25:53
  was
• 25:53
  talking
• 25:53
  about
• 25:53
  earlier.
• 25:54
  When
• 25:54
  he
• 25:54
  passed
• 25:54
  away,
• 25:57
  he
• 25:57
  was
• 25:57
  actually
• 25:57
  in
• 25:58
  the
• 25:58
  hospital.
• 25:58
  He
• 25:58
  was
• 25:58
  very,
• 25:58
  very
• 25:59
  sick.
• 26:00
  And
• 26:01
  this
• 26:01
  is
• 26:01
  he.
• 26:02
  He
• 26:02
  was
• 26:02
  in
• 26:02
  Florida
• 26:02
  and
• 26:02
  I
• 26:02
  was
• 26:03
  in
• 26:03
  Atlanta.
• 26:03
  And
• 26:04
  my
• 26:04
  mom
• 26:04
  calls
• 26:05
  me
• 26:05
  and
• 26:05
  is
• 26:05
  like,
• 26:05
  you
• 26:05
  know,
• 26:06
  you
• 26:06
  need
• 26:06
  to
• 26:06
  come
• 26:06
  down
• 26:06
  and
• 26:06
  say
• 26:07
  goodbye.
• 26:07
  So
• 26:08
  my
• 26:08
  wife
• 26:08
  drives
• 26:09
  me
• 26:09
  pretty
• 26:09
  much
• 26:09
  overnight
• 26:10
  to
• 26:10
  get
• 26:10
  down
• 26:10
  there
• 26:10
  and
• 26:11
  get
• 26:11
  to
• 26:11
  the
• 26:11
  hospital
• 26:11
  to
• 26:12
  see
• 26:12
  him,
• 26:12
  and
• 26:13
  by
• 26:13
  the
• 26:13
  time
• 26:13
  I
• 26:13
  get
• 26:13
  there,
• 26:13
  he's
• 26:14
  like,
• 26:14
  perfectly
• 26:14
  healthy.
• 26:15
  And
• 26:15
  the
• 26:15
  doctor
• 26:16
  is
• 26:16
  like,
• 26:16
  we
• 26:16
  don't
• 26:16
  know
• 26:16
  what
• 26:17
  happened.
• 26:17
  You
• 26:17
  know,
• 26:18
  like,
• 26:18
  we
• 26:19
  didn't
• 26:19
  think
• 26:19
  he
• 26:19
  was
• 26:19
  going
• 26:19
  to
• 26:20
  survive
• 26:20
  the
• 26:20
  night.
• 26:20
  And
• 26:20
  now
• 26:20
  we're
• 26:21
  going
• 26:21
  to
• 26:21
  send
• 26:21
  him
• 26:21
  home
• 26:21
  on,
• 26:22
  like,
• 26:22
  Thursday.
• 26:23
  And
• 26:23
  I'm
• 26:23
  talking
• 26:23
  to
• 26:24
  my
• 26:24
  grandfather
• 26:24
  and
• 26:24
  he's
• 26:25
  laughing
• 26:25
  and
• 26:25
  whatever,
• 26:26
  and,
• 26:27
  you
• 26:27
  know,
• 26:27
  I
• 26:28
  talked
• 26:28
  to
• 26:28
  him
• 26:28
  and
• 26:28
  I
• 26:28
  got
• 26:28
  in
• 26:29
  the
• 26:29
  car
• 26:29
  and
• 26:29
  I
• 26:29
  went
• 26:29
  back
• 26:29
  home,
• 26:30
  you
• 26:30
  know,
• 26:30
  and
• 26:31
  so,
• 26:31
  yeah,
• 26:32
  you
• 26:32
  know,
• 26:32
  I
• 26:33
  guess
• 26:33
  those
• 26:34
  kinds
• 26:34
  of
• 26:34
  things
• 26:34
  just
• 26:34
  kind
• 26:34
  of
• 26:35
  crashed
• 26:35
  together
• 26:35
  in
• 26:35
  my
• 26:36
  head
• 26:36
  in
• 26:36
  some
• 26:36
  way.
• 26:37
  And
• 26:37
  I
• 26:37
  had
• 26:37
  the
• 26:38
  idea
• 26:38
  for
• 26:38
  this
• 26:38
  story
• 26:39
  of,
• 26:41
  you
• 26:41
  know,
• 26:41
  what
• 26:41
  if
• 26:42
  there's
• 26:42
  a
• 26:42
  priest
• 26:42
  who
• 26:42
  goes
• 26:42
  to
• 26:43
  a
• 26:43
  hospital
• 26:43
  to
• 26:43
  deliver
• 26:43
  last
• 26:44
  rites
• 26:44
  to
• 26:44
  a
• 26:44
  patient
• 26:45
  and
• 26:45
  a
• 26:45
  patient's
• 26:45
  request,
• 26:46
  he
• 26:46
  goes
• 26:46
  in,
• 26:47
  ends
• 26:48
  up
• 26:48
  finding
• 26:48
  out
• 26:48
  through
• 26:49
  the
• 26:49
  confession
• 26:49
  that
• 26:49
  the
• 26:49
  patient
• 26:50
  is
• 26:50
  an
• 26:50
  Irish
• 26:50
  mobster
• 26:51
  and
• 26:52
  confesses
• 26:52
  all
• 26:52
  of
• 26:53
  the
• 26:53
  stuff
• 26:53
  he's
• 26:53
  done
• 26:53
  up
• 26:54
  to
• 26:54
  and
• 26:54
  including
• 26:54
  murder,
• 26:56
  because
• 26:56
  he's
• 26:56
  on
• 26:56
  his
• 26:56
  deathbed
• 26:57
  and
• 26:57
  he's
• 26:57
  completely
• 26:58
  repentant.
• 26:58
  He's
• 26:58
  crying
• 26:59
  and
• 26:59
  he's
• 26:59
  scared
• 26:59
  because
• 27:00
  he's
• 27:00
  dying.
• 27:01
  And
• 27:01
  the
• 27:01
  priest
• 27:02
  goes
• 27:02
  through
• 27:02
  his
• 27:02
  confession,
• 27:02
  absolves
• 27:03
  him
• 27:03
  of
• 27:03
  his
• 27:03
  sins,
• 27:04
  and
• 27:04
  then
• 27:05
  overnight,
• 27:05
  gangster
• 27:06
  makes
• 27:06
  a
• 27:06
  miraculous
• 27:07
  recovery.
• 27:07
  He's
• 27:07
  no
• 27:07
  longer
• 27:08
  going
• 27:08
  to
• 27:08
  die,
• 27:09
  but
• 27:09
  now
• 27:09
  he
• 27:09
  has
• 27:09
  to
• 27:09
  kill
• 27:09
  the
• 27:10
  priests
• 27:10
  that
• 27:10
  he
• 27:11
  confessed
• 27:11
  all
• 27:11
  the
• 27:11
  crimes
• 27:12
  to.
• 27:12
  You
• 27:12
  know,
• 27:13
  and
• 27:13
  that
• 27:13
  was
• 27:13
  kind
• 27:13
  of
• 27:13
  the
• 27:13
  genesis
• 27:14
  of
• 27:14
  the
• 27:14
  original
• 27:15
  idea,
• 27:16
  kind
• 27:17
  of
• 27:17
  tying
• 27:17
  in
• 27:17
  with
• 27:17
  some
• 27:17
  of
• 27:17
  those
• 27:18
  themes
• 27:19
  which
• 27:19
  are
• 27:20
  expressed
• 27:20
  very
• 27:20
  openly.
• 27:21
  And,
• 27:21
  you
• 27:22
  know,
• 27:23
  in
• 27:23
  the
• 27:23
  first
• 27:23
  issue
• 27:23
  of
• 27:24
  the
• 27:24
  series,
• 27:25
  you
• 27:25
  know,
• 27:25
  it's
• 27:25
  never
• 27:26
  too
• 27:26
  late
• 27:26
  for
• 27:26
  us
• 27:26
  until
• 27:27
  we
• 27:27
  die.
• 27:27
  You
• 27:27
  know,
• 27:27
  we
• 27:28
  always
• 27:28
  have
• 27:28
  a
• 27:28
  chance
• 27:28
  to
• 27:28
  be
• 27:29
  better
• 27:29
  people.
• 27:29
  We
• 27:30
  can
• 27:30
  always
• 27:30
  turn
• 27:31
  the
• 27:31
  corner
• 27:31
  and.
• 27:32
  And
• 27:32
  do
• 27:32
  better.
• 27:33
  And
• 27:35
  the
• 27:35
  story,
• 27:35
  you
• 27:35
  know,
• 27:36
  I
• 27:36
  wouldn't
• 27:36
  say
• 27:36
  the
• 27:37
  story
• 27:37
  is
• 27:37
  so
• 27:37
  much
• 27:37
  about
• 27:37
  religion
• 27:38
  as
• 27:38
  is
• 27:38
  about
• 27:38
  faith.
• 27:39
  You
• 27:39
  know,
• 27:40
  like
• 27:40
  Father
• 27:41
  Roy,
• 27:41
  our
• 27:41
  main
• 27:41
  character,
• 27:42
  he
• 27:42
  believes
• 27:42
  in
• 27:42
  God.
• 27:43
  Cormac
• 27:43
  Byrne,
• 27:43
  the
• 27:44
  mobster,
• 27:44
  he
• 27:44
  kind
• 27:44
  of
• 27:44
  believes
• 27:45
  in
• 27:45
  himself,
• 27:46
  you
• 27:46
  know,
• 27:46
  and
• 27:47
  his
• 27:47
  men,
• 27:48
  his
• 27:48
  men
• 27:48
  that
• 27:48
  work
• 27:48
  for
• 27:49
  him
• 27:49
  believe
• 27:49
  in
• 27:49
  him
• 27:50
  like
• 27:50
  he's
• 27:50
  their
• 27:50
  God,
• 27:51
  you
• 27:51
  know.
• 27:51
  Yeah.
• 27:52
  And
• 27:52
  the
• 27:53
  cop
• 27:53
  that's
• 27:53
  trying
• 27:53
  to,
• 27:54
  you
• 27:54
  know,
• 27:54
  send
• 27:55
  Cormac
• 27:55
  burn
• 27:55
  to
• 27:55
  jail
• 27:56
  no
• 27:56
  matter
• 27:56
  what
• 27:56
  it
• 27:56
  costs,
• 27:57
  doesn't
• 27:57
  really
• 27:57
  believe
• 27:58
  in
• 27:58
  anything,
• 27:58
  you
• 27:59
  know,
• 27:59
  and
• 27:59
  so
• 28:01
  all
• 28:01
  these
• 28:01
  people
• 28:02
  have
• 28:02
  faith
• 28:02
  in
• 28:03
  certain
• 28:03
  things
• 28:03
  in
• 28:03
  different
• 28:04
  ways.
• 28:05
  And
• 28:05
  how
• 28:05
  does,
• 28:06
  how
• 28:06
  does
• 28:06
  that
• 28:06
  faith
• 28:07
  be
• 28:07
  the
• 28:08
  religious
• 28:08
  faith,
• 28:08
  or
• 28:09
  whatever
• 28:09
  it
• 28:09
  is,
• 28:10
  or
• 28:10
  absence
• 28:11
  of
• 28:11
  faith?
• 28:11
  How
• 28:12
  does
• 28:12
  it
• 28:12
  impact
• 28:12
  their
• 28:13
  decisions
• 28:13
  and
• 28:14
  cause
• 28:14
  them
• 28:15
  to
• 28:15
  do
• 28:15
  things
• 28:15
  that
• 28:16
  keep
• 28:16
  the
• 28:16
  story
• 28:16
  moving
• 28:17
  forward?
• 28:17
  And
• 28:17
  as
• 28:18
  you
• 28:18
  go
• 28:18
  throughout
• 28:18
  the
• 28:19
  series,
• 28:19
  you'll
• 28:19
  meet
• 28:19
  additional
• 28:20
  characters
• 28:21
  that
• 28:22
  have
• 28:22
  those
• 28:22
  same
• 28:22
  things.
• 28:23
  You
• 28:23
  know,
• 28:23
  they're
• 28:23
  looking
• 28:23
  at
• 28:23
  it
• 28:24
  from
• 28:24
  different
• 28:24
  ways.
• 28:24
  And,
• 28:25
  and,
• 28:26
  you
• 28:27
  know,
• 28:28
  I
• 28:28
  just
• 28:28
  thought
• 28:29
  that
• 28:29
  would
• 28:29
  be
• 28:29
  an
• 28:29
  interesting
• 28:30
  story
• 28:31
  to
• 28:31
  do.
• 28:32
  It
• 28:32
  would
• 28:32
  give
• 28:32
  me
• 28:33
  a
• 28:33
  chance
• 28:33
  to
• 28:33
  do
• 28:33
  a
• 28:33
  grounded
• 28:34
  crime
• 28:34
  story,
• 28:34
  which
• 28:35
  I'd
• 28:35
  never
• 28:35
  had
• 28:35
  a
• 28:35
  chance
• 28:36
  to
• 28:36
  do
• 28:36
  before.
• 28:36
  I'm
• 28:37
  always
• 28:37
  looking
• 28:37
  to
• 28:37
  work
• 28:37
  in
• 28:38
  genres
• 28:38
  that
• 28:38
  I
• 28:38
  haven't
• 28:39
  worked
• 28:39
  in
• 28:39
  before.
• 28:40
  And
• 28:41
  then
• 28:42
  we
• 28:42
  added
• 28:42
  the
• 28:42
  extra
• 28:43
  element,
• 28:44
  so
• 28:44
  I
• 28:44
  had
• 28:45
  that
• 28:45
  idea.
• 28:45
  And
• 28:45
  then
• 28:45
  it
• 28:45
  was
• 28:46
  like,
• 28:46
  but
• 28:46
  what
• 28:46
  else?
• 28:47
  You
• 28:47
  know,
• 28:47
  and
• 28:48
  the
• 28:48
  what
• 28:48
  else
• 28:48
  is
• 28:48
  you
• 28:49
  end
• 28:49
  up
• 28:49
  finding
• 28:49
  out
• 28:49
  that,
• 28:51
  you
• 28:51
  know,
• 28:51
  Roy
• 28:51
  wasn't
• 28:52
  always
• 28:52
  a
• 28:52
  priest.
• 28:53
  He's
• 28:53
  his
• 28:53
  next
• 28:53
  Nasiel,
• 28:54
  who
• 28:54
  found
• 28:54
  his
• 28:54
  faith
• 28:55
  in
• 28:55
  combat
• 28:56
  and
• 28:57
  then
• 28:57
  became
• 28:58
  a
• 28:58
  priest.
• 28:59
  And
• 28:59
  so
• 29:00
  lost,
• 29:00
  the
• 29:00
  Irish
• 29:01
  mob
• 29:01
  is
• 29:01
  trying
• 29:01
  to
• 29:02
  kill
• 29:02
  him.
• 29:02
  He's
• 29:03
  a
• 29:03
  guy
• 29:03
  that
• 29:03
  can't
• 29:03
  easily
• 29:04
  be
• 29:04
  killed.
• 29:05
  To
• 29:05
  the
• 29:05
  surprise
• 29:05
  of
• 29:06
  everyone,
• 29:06
  you
• 29:06
  know,
• 29:07
  nobody
• 29:07
  knows
• 29:07
  this
• 29:07
  about
• 29:08
  him.
• 29:08
  And
• 29:08
  so
• 29:09
  that's
• 29:10
  kind
• 29:10
  of
• 29:10
  our
• 29:10
  big
• 29:10
  setup
• 29:11
  for
• 29:11
  the
• 29:11
  series,
• 29:11
  you
• 29:11
  know.
• 29:12
  Yeah,
• 29:12
  I
• 29:12
  think
• 29:12
  you
• 29:12
  nail
• 29:13
  it.
• 29:13
  I,
• 29:13
  I,
• 29:14
  you
• 29:14
  know,
• 29:14
  his
• 29:15
  piety,
• 29:16
  the
• 29:16
  traditions
• 29:16
  of
• 29:17
  the
• 29:17
  church,
• 29:17
  but
• 29:17
  also
• 29:18
  the
• 29:18
  kind
• 29:18
  of
• 29:18
  greediness
• 29:19
  of
• 29:19
  the
• 29:19
  characters
• 29:20
  around
• 29:20
  him
• 29:20
  and
• 29:20
  what
• 29:20
  he
• 29:21
  has
• 29:21
  to
• 29:21
  navigate
• 29:21
  as
• 29:21
  someone
• 29:22
  who
• 29:22
  has
• 29:23
  made
• 29:24
  hospital
• 29:24
  visits
• 29:25
  and
• 29:25
  being
• 29:25
  stopped
• 29:26
  being
• 29:26
  said,
• 29:27
  hey,
• 29:27
  I
• 29:27
  have
• 29:27
  a
• 29:27
  thought.
• 29:28
  Can
• 29:28
  I
• 29:28
  get
• 29:28
  your
• 29:28
  thought
• 29:28
  on
• 29:29
  this,
• 29:29
  or
• 29:29
  can
• 29:29
  you
• 29:29
  come
• 29:29
  pray
• 29:30
  with.
• 29:30
  I'm
• 29:30
  there
• 29:30
  to
• 29:30
  see
• 29:30
  somebody
• 29:31
  else,
• 29:31
  but
• 29:31
  I
• 29:31
  get
• 29:31
  diverted
• 29:32
  because
• 29:32
  somebody
• 29:32
  wants
• 29:33
  to
• 29:33
  do
• 29:33
  something
• 29:33
  else,
• 29:33
  but
• 29:34
  then
• 29:34
  pulled
• 29:34
  aside
• 29:35
  or
• 29:35
  in
• 29:35
  a,
• 29:35
  or
• 29:36
  elevator
• 29:36
  conversation,
• 29:37
  really
• 29:38
  human
• 29:38
  elements
• 29:38
  in
• 29:39
  here
• 29:39
  that
• 29:39
  I,
• 29:39
  that
• 29:40
  I
• 29:40
  really
• 29:40
  enjoyed
• 29:41
  and
• 29:41
  resonated
• 29:41
  with.
• 29:42
  And
• 29:42
  you
• 29:43
  just
• 29:43
  know
• 29:43
  that,
• 29:43
  that
• 29:44
  Father
• 29:44
  Roy
• 29:45
  has
• 29:45
  a,
• 29:45
  has
• 29:46
  a
• 29:46
  deeper
• 29:46
  past,
• 29:46
  a
• 29:47
  past
• 29:47
  there
• 29:48
  that
• 29:48
  that
• 29:48
  will
• 29:48
  emerge.
• 29:50
  I'm
• 29:50
  curious,
• 29:50
  how,
• 29:51
  how
• 29:51
  many
• 29:51
  issues
• 29:51
  were
• 29:52
  this
• 29:52
  first
• 29:52
  arc
• 29:52
  be?
• 29:52
  What,
• 29:53
  what
• 29:53
  do
• 29:53
  you
• 29:53
  got
• 29:53
  planned?
• 29:54
  What,
• 29:54
  what
• 29:55
  this
• 29:55
  of
• 29:56
  how.
• 29:57
  Yeah,
• 29:57
  yeah.
• 29:58
  The
• 29:58
  core
• 29:58
  story
• 29:58
  is
• 29:58
  three
• 29:59
  issues,
• 29:59
  but
• 29:59
  in
• 30:00
  between
• 30:00
  two
• 30:00
  and
• 30:00
  three
• 30:00
  is
• 30:01
  a
• 30:01
  zero
• 30:01
  issue
• 30:02
  about
• 30:02
  a
• 30:03
  character
• 30:03
  called
• 30:03
  the
• 30:03
  Machine,
• 30:04
  who
• 30:05
  is
• 30:06
  the
• 30:06
  big
• 30:06
  hitman
• 30:07
  that
• 30:07
  Cor
• 30:07
  McBurn,
• 30:08
  the
• 30:08
  Irish
• 30:08
  mobster
• 30:08
  is
• 30:09
  trying
• 30:09
  to
• 30:09
  get
• 30:09
  to
• 30:10
  go
• 30:10
  kill
• 30:10
  Father
• 30:11
  Roy,
• 30:11
  but
• 30:11
  he
• 30:12
  can't
• 30:12
  get
• 30:12
  him
• 30:12
  on
• 30:12
  the
• 30:12
  phone.
• 30:13
  Turns
• 30:13
  out
• 30:13
  even
• 30:13
  Hitman
• 30:14
  have
• 30:14
  a
• 30:14
  busy
• 30:14
  season.
• 30:15
  He's
• 30:15
  on
• 30:15
  another
• 30:15
  job.
• 30:16
  And
• 30:16
  so
• 30:17
  it
• 30:17
  kind
• 30:17
  of
• 30:18
  tells
• 30:18
  the
• 30:18
  story
• 30:18
  of
• 30:18
  his
• 30:19
  day,
• 30:19
  you
• 30:19
  know,
• 30:20
  leading
• 30:20
  up
• 30:20
  to
• 30:20
  issue
• 30:21
  three,
• 30:21
  when
• 30:21
  now
• 30:22
  the
• 30:22
  machine
• 30:22
  and
• 30:22
  Father
• 30:23
  Roy
• 30:23
  are
• 30:23
  going
• 30:23
  to
• 30:24
  crash
• 30:24
  together.
• 30:25
  And
• 30:26
  the
• 30:26
  Machine
• 30:26
  is
• 30:26
  a
• 30:26
  very
• 30:27
  blue
• 30:27
  collar
• 30:28
  hitman,
• 30:29
  takes
• 30:29
  his
• 30:29
  work
• 30:30
  very
• 30:30
  seriously,
• 30:32
  adheres
• 30:33
  to
• 30:33
  his
• 30:33
  own
• 30:33
  standards
• 30:34
  and
• 30:34
  ethics
• 30:34
  and
• 30:35
  doesn't
• 30:36
  cut
• 30:36
  corners.
• 30:37
  And
• 30:39
  you
• 30:39
  know,
• 30:39
  he's
• 30:40
  going
• 30:40
  to
• 30:40
  run
• 30:40
  into
• 30:40
  Father
• 30:41
  Roy.
• 30:41
  And
• 30:41
  that
• 30:41
  leads
• 30:42
  us
• 30:42
  to,
• 30:43
  you
• 30:43
  know,
• 30:43
  the
• 30:43
  big
• 30:43
  climax
• 30:44
  at
• 30:44
  the
• 30:44
  end.
• 30:45
  So,
• 30:46
  yeah,
• 30:47
  there's
• 30:47
  no
• 30:47
  like
• 30:47
  supernatural
• 30:48
  element
• 30:48
  like
• 30:49
  that.
• 30:49
  It's
• 30:49
  not
• 30:49
  like
• 30:49
  demons
• 30:50
  are
• 30:50
  going
• 30:50
  to
• 30:50
  emerge
• 30:50
  from
• 30:51
  this,
• 30:51
  you
• 30:51
  know,
• 30:52
  that
• 30:53
  it's
• 30:53
  like,
• 30:53
  it
• 30:53
  is
• 30:54
  like
• 30:54
  a
• 30:54
  grounded
• 30:55
  crime.
• 30:56
  John
• 30:56
  Wick.
• 30:56
  It
• 30:56
  is
• 30:57
  extremely
• 30:57
  grounded.
• 30:57
  Yeah,
• 30:58
  it's
• 30:58
  extremely
• 30:58
  around
• 30:58
  it.
• 30:59
  A
• 30:59
  lot
• 30:59
  of
• 31:00
  that
• 31:00
  kind
• 31:00
  of
• 31:00
  stuff.
• 31:01
  Yeah,
• 31:01
  none
• 31:01
  of
• 31:02
  that
• 31:02
  kind
• 31:02
  of
• 31:02
  stuff
• 31:02
  at
• 31:02
  all.
• 31:03
  You
• 31:03
  know,
• 31:04
  I
• 31:04
  wouldn't
• 31:04
  say
• 31:04
  there's
• 31:04
  a
• 31:05
  lot
• 31:05
  of
• 31:05
  gun
• 31:05
  fu
• 31:05
  or
• 31:05
  anything
• 31:06
  like
• 31:06
  that,
• 31:06
  you
• 31:07
  know.
• 31:07
  Yeah.
• 31:09
  Wanted
• 31:10
  to
• 31:10
  keep
• 31:10
  it
• 31:10
  really
• 31:10
  grounded
• 31:11
  in
• 31:11
  that
• 31:11
  way
• 31:11
  because
• 31:12
  again,
• 31:12
  I
• 31:12
  haven't
• 31:12
  had
• 31:12
  a
• 31:12
  chance.
• 31:13
  You
• 31:13
  know,
• 31:13
  I
• 31:13
  write
• 31:13
  Green
• 31:14
  Lantern
• 31:14
  and
• 31:14
  Superman
• 31:14
  and
• 31:15
  X
• 31:15
  Amount
• 31:15
  of
• 31:15
  War
• 31:16
  and
• 31:16
  whatever,
• 31:16
  you
• 31:16
  know,
• 31:16
  and
• 31:17
  even
• 31:17
  the
• 31:17
  other
• 31:17
  books
• 31:17
  I
• 31:18
  do
• 31:18
  for
• 31:18
  Bad
• 31:18
  Idea,
• 31:18
  you
• 31:18
  know,
• 31:19
  Planet
• 31:19
  Death
• 31:19
  is
• 31:19
  this,
• 31:20
  you
• 31:20
  know,
• 31:20
  World
• 31:20
  War
• 31:21
  II
• 31:21
  space
• 31:23
  story,
• 31:23
  you
• 31:23
  know,
• 31:23
  and
• 31:23
  so,
• 31:24
  you
• 31:25
  know,
• 31:25
  tend
• 31:25
  to
• 31:25
  do
• 31:26
  things
• 31:26
  that
• 31:26
  aren't
• 31:26
  grounded
• 31:27
  like
• 31:27
  that.
• 31:27
  And
• 31:27
  I
• 31:28
  love
• 31:28
  those
• 31:28
  kinds
• 31:28
  of
• 31:29
  stories.
• 31:29
  You
• 31:29
  know,
• 31:31
  in
• 31:31
  terms
• 31:31
  of
• 31:31
  television,
• 31:32
  I
• 31:32
  love
• 31:32
  things
• 31:32
  like
• 31:33
  NYPD
• 31:34
  Blue.
• 31:34
  Right.
• 31:34
  Or
• 31:35
  in
• 31:35
  terms
• 31:35
  of
• 31:36
  comics.
• 31:36
  When
• 31:36
  I
• 31:36
  very
• 31:37
  first
• 31:37
  started
• 31:37
  reading
• 31:37
  comics,
• 31:38
  Gotham
• 31:38
  Central
• 31:39
  was
• 31:39
  one
• 31:39
  of
• 31:39
  the
• 31:39
  books
• 31:39
  on
• 31:40
  the
• 31:40
  stands.
• 31:40
  It's
• 31:40
  one
• 31:40
  of
• 31:41
  my
• 31:41
  favorite
• 31:41
  things
• 31:41
  I've
• 31:41
  ever
• 31:41
  written,
• 31:42
  ever
• 31:42
  read,
• 31:42
  you
• 31:43
  know,
• 31:43
  and
• 31:43
  so
• 31:44
  really,
• 31:44
  really
• 31:45
  love
• 31:45
  those
• 31:45
  kind
• 31:45
  of
• 31:46
  really
• 31:46
  grounded
• 31:46
  stories
• 31:47
  and.
• 31:47
  But
• 31:47
  just
• 31:48
  hadn't
• 31:48
  had
• 31:48
  an
• 31:48
  opportunity
• 31:48
  to
• 31:48
  do
• 31:48
  them
• 31:49
  too
• 31:49
  many
• 31:49
  too
• 31:49
  much.
• 31:49
  And
• 31:50
  so
• 31:51
  saw
• 31:51
  this
• 31:51
  as
• 31:52
  an
• 31:52
  opportunity
• 31:52
  to
• 31:52
  do
• 31:52
  that.
• 31:52
  So
• 31:52
  when
• 31:52
  I
• 31:53
  pitched
• 31:53
  the
• 31:53
  idea
• 31:53
  to
• 31:53
  Bad
• 31:53
  Idea,
• 31:56
  yeah,
• 31:56
  they
• 31:56
  were
• 31:56
  really
• 31:57
  excited
• 31:57
  about
• 31:57
  it.
• 31:58
  Saw
• 31:58
  the,
• 31:58
  I
• 31:59
  felt
• 31:59
  like,
• 31:59
  you
• 31:59
  know,
• 31:59
  every
• 31:59
  once
• 32:00
  in
• 32:00
  a
• 32:00
  while
• 32:00
  you
• 32:00
  have
• 32:01
  an
• 32:01
  idea
• 32:01
  and
• 32:01
  you
• 32:01
  feel
• 32:01
  like,
• 32:02
  I
• 32:02
  think
• 32:02
  I
• 32:02
  might
• 32:02
  have
• 32:02
  a
• 32:03
  good
• 32:03
  one
• 32:03
  here,
• 32:03
  you
• 32:03
  know,
• 32:04
  this
• 32:04
  might
• 32:04
  be
• 32:05
  a
• 32:05
  good
• 32:05
  one.
• 32:05
  Whereas
• 32:05
  most
• 32:05
  of
• 32:05
  the
• 32:06
  time
• 32:06
  you
• 32:06
  don't
• 32:06
  really
• 32:07
  know.
• 32:07
  You
• 32:07
  know,
• 32:08
  this
• 32:08
  was
• 32:08
  one
• 32:08
  that
• 32:09
  I
• 32:09
  felt
• 32:09
  pretty
• 32:09
  good
• 32:09
  about
• 32:09
  and
• 32:10
  I
• 32:10
  had
• 32:10
  already
• 32:10
  had
• 32:11
  the
• 32:11
  pitch
• 32:11
  written
• 32:11
  and
• 32:11
  everything.
• 32:13
  Wasn't
• 32:15
  sure
• 32:15
  what
• 32:15
  I
• 32:15
  was
• 32:15
  going
• 32:15
  to
• 32:15
  do
• 32:16
  with
• 32:16
  it
• 32:16
  except
• 32:16
  to
• 32:16
  just
• 32:16
  shop
• 32:16
  it
• 32:17
  around.
• 32:17
  And
• 32:19
  I
• 32:19
  have
• 32:19
  a
• 32:19
  really
• 32:19
  good
• 32:20
  relationship
• 32:20
  with
• 32:20
  Bad
• 32:20
  Idea
• 32:21
  and
• 32:21
  the
• 32:21
  people
• 32:21
  that
• 32:21
  work
• 32:21
  there.
• 32:22
  And
• 32:22
  so
• 32:22
  they
• 32:22
  were
• 32:23
  the
• 32:23
  first
• 32:23
  people
• 32:23
  I
• 32:23
  showed
• 32:23
  it
• 32:24
  to
• 32:24
  and
• 32:25
  was
• 32:25
  very
• 32:25
  happy
• 32:26
  when
• 32:26
  they.
• 32:27
  They
• 32:27
  saw
• 32:27
  the
• 32:27
  same
• 32:27
  potential
• 32:28
  in
• 32:28
  it
• 32:28
  that
• 32:28
  I
• 32:28
  did.
• 32:29
  And
• 32:29
  we're
• 32:30
  on
• 32:30
  board
• 32:30
  with
• 32:30
  it.
• 32:30
  And
• 32:31
  so,
• 32:32
  yeah,
• 32:33
  very
• 32:33
  excited
• 32:33
  to
• 32:34
  have
• 32:34
  it
• 32:34
  out
• 32:34
  now.
• 32:34
  You
• 32:34
  know,
• 32:34
  I
• 32:35
  don't
• 32:35
  have
• 32:35
  a
• 32:35
  copy
• 32:35
  yet
• 32:36
  because
• 32:36
  my
• 32:36
  cops
• 32:37
  still
• 32:37
  haven't
• 32:37
  arrived,
• 32:38
  so
• 32:38
  I
• 32:38
  got
• 32:39
  mine,
• 32:39
  you
• 32:39
  guys.
• 32:39
  Well,
• 32:40
  I'll
• 32:40
  take
• 32:40
  Kevin.
• 32:41
  Kevin
• 32:41
  read
• 32:41
  it
• 32:42
  digitally.
• 32:42
  I
• 32:42
  got
• 32:43
  a
• 32:43
  hard
• 32:43
  copy
• 32:44
  at
• 32:44
  my
• 32:44
  local
• 32:44
  comic
• 32:45
  store
• 32:45
  down
• 32:45
  in
• 32:45
  Wilmington.
• 32:46
  And
• 32:46
  they.
• 32:48
  I
• 32:48
  love
• 32:48
  the,
• 32:48
  like,
• 32:49
  old
• 32:49
  school,
• 32:49
  like,
• 32:50
  newsprint
• 32:50
  paper,
• 32:51
  like,
• 32:51
  wig.
• 32:52
  I
• 32:52
  don't
• 32:52
  know
• 32:52
  if
• 32:52
  it
• 32:53
  was
• 32:53
  a
• 32:53
  bad
• 32:53
  idea.
• 32:54
  It's
• 32:54
  not,
• 32:54
  like,
• 32:55
  really
• 32:55
  glossy.
• 32:55
  It's
• 32:55
  like
• 32:55
  a
• 32:56
  newsprint
• 32:56
  from,
• 32:56
  like,
• 32:56
  the
• 32:57
  70s
• 32:57
  and
• 32:57
  80s.
• 32:57
  Yeah.
• 32:58
  Yeah.
• 32:58
  So
• 32:58
  I
• 32:58
  heard
• 32:59
  that
• 32:59
  it
• 32:59
  was
• 32:59
  on
• 32:59
  newsprint,
• 33:00
  which
• 33:00
  I
• 33:00
  love
• 33:00
  because
• 33:01
  it's
• 33:01
  super
• 33:02
  me.
• 33:02
  It's
• 33:02
  gonna
• 33:03
  make
• 33:03
  it
• 33:03
  feel
• 33:03
  more
• 33:04
  gritty
• 33:05
  and
• 33:05
  pulpy.
• 33:06
  You
• 33:06
  know,
• 33:08
  it
• 33:08
  probably
• 33:08
  has
• 33:09
  a
• 33:09
  smell
• 33:09
  to
• 33:09
  it,
• 33:09
  right?
• 33:10
  So
• 33:10
  it's
• 33:10
  like
• 33:10
  there's
• 33:10
  like
• 33:11
  an
• 33:11
  olfactory
• 33:11
  kind
• 33:12
  of
• 33:12
  inkiness
• 33:13
  to
• 33:13
  it,
• 33:13
  you
• 33:13
  know,
• 33:13
  that
• 33:14
  you
• 33:14
  get
• 33:14
  it
• 33:14
  on
• 33:15
  your
• 33:15
  fingers,
• 33:15
  you
• 33:15
  get
• 33:15
  a
• 33:15
  little
• 33:16
  dirty
• 33:16
  when
• 33:16
  you
• 33:16
  read
• 33:16
  it,
• 33:16
  you
• 33:17
  know,
• 33:17
  and
• 33:17
  so
• 33:17
  I'm
• 33:18
  really
• 33:18
  excited
• 33:18
  about
• 33:19
  that,
• 33:19
  too.
• 33:19
  What's
• 33:20
  your
• 33:20
  stop
• 33:20
  at
• 33:20
  Wilmington?
• 33:21
  Is
• 33:21
  it
• 33:21
  Memory
• 33:21
  Lane?
• 33:22
  It
• 33:22
  is
• 33:22
  his
• 33:23
  memory
• 33:23
  lane.
• 33:23
  Yep.
• 33:24
  Yeah,
• 33:24
  tell
• 33:24
  us,
• 33:24
  guys.
• 33:25
  I
• 33:26
  will.
• 33:26
  My.
• 33:26
  I'm
• 33:26
  in
• 33:27
  Chapel
• 33:27
  Hill
• 33:27
  now
• 33:27
  and,
• 33:28
  you
• 33:28
  know,
• 33:28
  go
• 33:28
  to
• 33:28
  ultimate
• 33:29
  here,
• 33:29
  but.
• 33:29
  But
• 33:30
  my
• 33:30
  first
• 33:30
  comic
• 33:30
  store
• 33:31
  I
• 33:31
  ever
• 33:31
  went
• 33:31
  into
• 33:31
  as
• 33:32
  a.
• 33:32
  As
• 33:32
  a
• 33:32
  little
• 33:32
  kid
• 33:33
  was
• 33:33
  Memory
• 33:33
  Lane
• 33:34
  way
• 33:34
  back
• 33:35
  in
• 33:35
  the
• 33:35
  early
• 33:36
  80s.
• 33:36
  And
• 33:36
  so
• 33:37
  I
• 33:37
  still
• 33:37
  connect
• 33:38
  with
• 33:38
  Jacob
• 33:38
  and
• 33:39
  go
• 33:39
  and
• 33:39
  pop
• 33:39
  in
• 33:40
  when
• 33:40
  I
• 33:40
  go
• 33:40
  down
• 33:40
  to
• 33:40
  see
• 33:40
  my
• 33:41
  mom
• 33:41
  down
• 33:41
  there.
• 33:41
  So,
• 33:42
  yeah,
• 33:42
  I
• 33:43
  had
• 33:43
  a
• 33:43
  little
• 33:43
  mask.
• 33:43
  Right.
• 33:44
  Yeah,
• 33:44
  I
• 33:44
  will
• 33:45
  now.
• 33:45
  Have
• 33:45
  you
• 33:45
  worked
• 33:46
  with
• 33:46
  this
• 33:46
  artist?
• 33:46
  Hello.
• 33:46
  But
• 33:47
  I
• 33:47
  said,
• 33:47
  hey,
• 33:47
  too.
• 33:47
  I
• 33:47
  haven't
• 33:48
  talked
• 33:48
  to
• 33:48
  this,
• 33:48
  so
• 33:48
  I
• 33:48
  would
• 33:48
  tell
• 33:49
  him
• 33:49
  I
• 33:49
  will.
• 33:49
  Yeah.
• 33:50
  Have
• 33:50
  you
• 33:50
  worked
• 33:51
  with
• 33:51
  this
• 33:51
  artist
• 33:51
  before
• 33:51
  with
• 33:52
  Valiant?
• 33:53
  A
• 33:53
  Trevor
• 33:53
  hair
• 33:54
  sign.
• 33:54
  Is
• 33:54
  that.
• 33:55
  Yeah.
• 33:55
  So
• 33:55
  Valiant,
• 33:56
  I
• 33:56
  worked
• 33:56
  with
• 33:56
  Trevor
• 33:56
  on
• 33:57
  two
• 33:57
  issues
• 33:57
  of
• 33:57
  Exo,
• 33:58
  man
• 33:58
  of
• 33:58
  War.
• 33:59
  In
• 33:59
  the
• 33:59
  very
• 33:59
  beginning,
• 34:00
  it
• 34:00
  was
• 34:00
  like,
• 34:00
  issue
• 34:00
  11
• 34:01
  and
• 34:01
  12,
• 34:01
  maybe,
• 34:02
  or
• 34:02
  8
• 34:02
  and
• 34:03
  9
• 34:03
  or
• 34:03
  9
• 34:03
  and
• 34:03
  10,
• 34:03
  something
• 34:04
  like
• 34:04
  that.
• 34:04
  It
• 34:04
  was
• 34:05
  the
• 34:05
  prelude
• 34:05
  to
• 34:05
  the
• 34:05
  big
• 34:07
  Armor
• 34:07
  Hunter
• 34:07
  storyline
• 34:08
  that
• 34:09
  we
• 34:09
  ended
• 34:09
  up
• 34:09
  doing.
• 34:10
  And
• 34:11
  so
• 34:11
  I
• 34:11
  worked
• 34:12
  with
• 34:12
  him,
• 34:12
  and
• 34:12
  he's
• 34:12
  somebody
• 34:12
  I'd
• 34:13
  always
• 34:13
  wanted
• 34:13
  to
• 34:13
  get
• 34:13
  back
• 34:13
  to.
• 34:13
  And
• 34:14
  his
• 34:14
  style
• 34:14
  is
• 34:15
  so
• 34:15
  great
• 34:15
  for
• 34:15
  the
• 34:15
  story
• 34:15
  because
• 34:16
  he's
• 34:16
  very
• 34:16
  heavy
• 34:17
  with
• 34:17
  the
• 34:17
  inks.
• 34:17
  And,
• 34:18
  you
• 34:18
  know,
• 34:18
  you
• 34:18
  get
• 34:18
  that
• 34:19
  all
• 34:20
  those
• 34:20
  blacks
• 34:20
  on
• 34:20
  the
• 34:20
  page,
• 34:21
  you
• 34:22
  know,
• 34:22
  give
• 34:22
  you
• 34:22
  that
• 34:22
  grittiness
• 34:23
  and,
• 34:23
  you
• 34:23
  know,
• 34:23
  that
• 34:24
  crime,
• 34:24
  that
• 34:24
  noir
• 34:25
  feel,
• 34:25
  but
• 34:25
  also
• 34:25
  doubly
• 34:26
  so
• 34:26
  when
• 34:27
  your
• 34:27
  main
• 34:27
  character's
• 34:27
  a
• 34:28
  priest
• 34:28
  and
• 34:28
  wears,
• 34:28
  you
• 34:29
  know,
• 34:29
  a
• 34:29
  black
• 34:29
  outfit
• 34:30
  with
• 34:30
  a
• 34:30
  white.
• 34:30
  Just
• 34:31

• 34:31
  of
• 34:31
  White
• 34:31
  the
• 34:31
  whole
• 34:32
  time,
• 34:32
  you
• 34:32
  know,
• 34:32
  and
• 34:32
  so
• 34:34
  was
• 34:34
  really,
• 34:34
  really
• 34:34
  excited
• 34:35
  to
• 34:35
  work
• 34:35
  with
• 34:35
  Trevor.
• 34:36
  And,
• 34:37
  you
• 34:37
  know,
• 34:37
  he's
• 34:37
  already
• 34:38
  finished
• 34:38
  with
• 34:38
  issue
• 34:38
  two.
• 34:40
  He's
• 34:40
  already
• 34:40
  drawn
• 34:41
  the
• 34:41
  zero
• 34:42
  issue
• 34:42
  with
• 34:42
  the
• 34:42
  Machine.
• 34:43
  And
• 34:43
  so
• 34:44
  a
• 34:44
  lot.
• 34:45
  A
• 34:45
  lot
• 34:45
  of
• 34:45
  really
• 34:45
  good
• 34:45
  stuff
• 34:46
  coming
• 34:46
  up,
• 34:46
  you
• 34:46
  know,
• 34:46
  and
• 34:47
  it's
• 34:47
  nice
• 34:48
  because
• 34:48
  Trevor,
• 34:50
  he's
• 34:50
  very
• 34:50
  good
• 34:51
  with
• 34:51
  action,
• 34:51
  but
• 34:52
  he's
• 34:52
  also
• 34:52
  really
• 34:52
  good
• 34:53
  at
• 34:53
  conveying
• 34:53
  the
• 34:54
  conversations.
• 34:54
  And
• 34:55
  those
• 34:55
  are
• 34:55
  the
• 34:56
  moments
• 34:56
  that
• 34:56
  are
• 34:56
  really
• 34:56
  the
• 34:56
  most
• 34:56
  important
• 34:57
  to
• 34:57
  the
• 34:57
  book.
• 34:57
  When
• 34:57
  Father
• 34:58
  Roy
• 34:58
  is
• 34:59
  talking
• 34:59
  with
• 34:59
  Cormac
• 35:00
  Byrne
• 35:00
  on
• 35:00
  his
• 35:00
  deathbed
• 35:00
  and
• 35:01
  you
• 35:01
  see
• 35:01
  the
• 35:01
  emotion
• 35:01
  in
• 35:01
  his
• 35:02
  face,
• 35:02
  or
• 35:02
  when
• 35:03
  he's
• 35:03
  riding
• 35:03
  in
• 35:03
  the
• 35:03
  elevator
• 35:04
  with
• 35:04
  the
• 35:04
  police
• 35:04
  officer
• 35:04
  and
• 35:05
  they
• 35:05
  have
• 35:05
  their
• 35:05
  conversation.
• 35:06
  And
• 35:06
  there's
• 35:06
  a
• 35:06
  scene
• 35:06
  in
• 35:07
  the
• 35:07
  second
• 35:07
  issue
• 35:07
  where
• 35:08
  Father
• 35:08
  Roy
• 35:08
  is
• 35:09
  riding
• 35:10
  in
• 35:10
  a.
• 35:10
  In
• 35:10
  a
• 35:10
  car
• 35:11
  with
• 35:11
  a
• 35:11
  police
• 35:11
  officer
• 35:12
  and
• 35:12
  they
• 35:12
  have
• 35:13
  a
• 35:13
  discussion
• 35:13
  and
• 35:14
  just
• 35:14
  really
• 35:15
  love
• 35:15
  those
• 35:15
  things.
• 35:15
  And
• 35:15
  there's
• 35:15
  elements
• 35:16
  that
• 35:16
  he
• 35:16
  did.
• 35:16
  I.
• 35:16
  I
• 35:16
  don't
• 35:17
  have
• 35:17
  the
• 35:17
  comic
• 35:17
  or
• 35:17
  I'd
• 35:17
  hold
• 35:18
  it
• 35:18
  up.
• 35:18
  So
• 35:18
  maybe
• 35:18
  Will
• 35:18
  you
• 35:19
  can.
• 35:19
  But,
• 35:19
  like,
• 35:20
  if
• 35:20
  you
• 35:20
  look
• 35:20
  at
• 35:21
  one
• 35:21
  of
• 35:21
  the
• 35:21
  early
• 35:21
  pages,
• 35:22
  I
• 35:22
  think
• 35:22
  it's
• 35:23
  page
• 35:23
  two,
• 35:23
  there's
• 35:23
  a
• 35:23
  big
• 35:24
  image
• 35:24
  of
• 35:24
  Father
• 35:25
  maybe
• 35:25
  page
• 35:26
  three,
• 35:26
  he's
• 35:26
  leaving
• 35:26
  the
• 35:26
  church,
• 35:27
  and
• 35:27
  the
• 35:27
  church
• 35:27
  is
• 35:27
  very
• 35:27
  big
• 35:28
  in
• 35:28
  the
• 35:28
  background.
• 35:29
  And
• 35:29
  Father
• 35:30
  Roy.
• 35:30
  Yeah,
• 35:30
  they're
• 35:31
  right
• 35:31
  there.
• 35:31
  Right.
• 35:31
  So.
• 35:32
  So
• 35:32
  the
• 35:33
  Father
• 35:33
  Roy
• 35:34
  is
• 35:34
  carrying
• 35:34
  his
• 35:35
  sacramental
• 35:35
  bag
• 35:36
  right
• 35:36
  now.
• 35:36
  He
• 35:36
  knows
• 35:36
  he's
• 35:36
  on
• 35:36
  the
• 35:37
  way
• 35:37
  to
• 35:37
  the
• 35:37
  hospital.
• 35:37
  Give
• 35:37
  last
• 35:38
  rights.
• 35:38
  And
• 35:38
  so
• 35:39
  what's
• 35:40
  inside
• 35:40
  that
• 35:40
  bag
• 35:40
  are
• 35:41
  essentially
• 35:41
  all
• 35:41
  the
• 35:41
  elements
• 35:41
  that
• 35:42
  you
• 35:42
  would
• 35:42
  see
• 35:42
  if
• 35:42
  you
• 35:42
  went
• 35:42
  to
• 35:42
  a
• 35:43
  Catholic
• 35:43
  church
• 35:43
  on
• 35:43
  the
• 35:43
  altar
• 35:44
  when
• 35:44
  you
• 35:44
  do
• 35:45
  communion,
• 35:45
  it
• 35:45
  has
• 35:46
  the
• 35:46
  host
• 35:46
  in
• 35:46
  it,
• 35:46
  it
• 35:46
  has
• 35:47
  candles,
• 35:47
  it
• 35:47
  has
• 35:47
  a
• 35:47
  crucifix,
• 35:48
  all
• 35:48
  these
• 35:48
  things.
• 35:49
  And
• 35:49
  that's
• 35:49
  what
• 35:50
  he
• 35:50
  takes
• 35:50
  to
• 35:50
  go
• 35:50
  do
• 35:51
  last
• 35:51
  rites
• 35:52
  on
• 35:52
  the
• 35:52
  road.
• 35:52
  And
• 35:52
  if
• 35:52
  you
• 35:52
  look
• 35:53
  at
• 35:53
  the
• 35:53
  way
• 35:53
  that
• 35:53
  Trevor
• 35:53
  drew
• 35:54
  that,
• 35:54
  where
• 35:54
  he's
• 35:54
  holding
• 35:55
  on
• 35:55
  to
• 35:55
  the
• 35:55
  strap
• 35:56
  of
• 35:56
  the
• 35:56
  bag,
• 35:56
  it's
• 35:57
  like,
• 35:57
  is
• 35:57
  he
• 35:57
  holding
• 35:57
  onto
• 35:58
  the
• 35:58
  strap
• 35:58
  of
• 35:58
  the
• 35:58
  bag
• 35:58
  because
• 35:59
  he's
• 35:59
  protecting
• 35:59
  the
• 35:59
  contents
• 36:00
  of
• 36:00
  the
• 36:00
  bag,
• 36:01
  or
• 36:01
  is
• 36:01
  he
• 36:01
  holding
• 36:01
  onto
• 36:02
  the
• 36:02
  strap
• 36:02
  of
• 36:02
  the
• 36:02
  bag
• 36:02
  because
• 36:03
  he
• 36:03
  feels
• 36:04
  like
• 36:04
  the
• 36:04
  contents
• 36:04
  are
• 36:04
  protecting
• 36:05
  him?
• 36:05
  And
• 36:05
  it's
• 36:06
  like
• 36:06
  a
• 36:06
  security
• 36:06
  blanket,
• 36:07
  you
• 36:07
  know,
• 36:07
  it's
• 36:07
  like
• 36:08
  elements
• 36:08
  like
• 36:08
  that
• 36:09
  that
• 36:09
  he
• 36:09
  does
• 36:09
  to
• 36:09
  the
• 36:09
  art
• 36:10
  that.
• 36:10
  I
• 36:10
  don't
• 36:10
  write
• 36:11
  that
• 36:11
  in
• 36:11
  the
• 36:11
  script.
• 36:11
  You
• 36:11
  know,
• 36:12
  that's
• 36:12
  Trevor
• 36:12
  bringing
• 36:13
  his
• 36:13
  own
• 36:14
  sensibilities
• 36:14
  to
• 36:15
  it.
• 36:15
  And
• 36:15
  really,
• 36:16
  the
• 36:16
  end
• 36:16
  result
• 36:17
  ends
• 36:17
  up
• 36:17
  being
• 36:17
  something
• 36:18
  much
• 36:18
  more
• 36:18
  affecting
• 36:18
  than
• 36:19
  just
• 36:20
  words
• 36:20
  on
• 36:21
  a
• 36:21
  In
• 36:21
  a
• 36:21
  word
• 36:22
  doc,
• 36:22
  you
• 36:22
  know,
• 36:22
  so.
• 36:23
  Yeah,
• 36:23
  and
• 36:24
  Rob,
• 36:24
  one
• 36:24
  of
• 36:24
  the
• 36:25
  cool
• 36:25
  things
• 36:25
  about
• 36:25
  this
• 36:25
  book
• 36:26
  is
• 36:26
  I
• 36:26
  actually
• 36:26
  discovered
• 36:27
  it
• 36:27
  not
• 36:28
  on
• 36:28
  a
• 36:28
  comics
• 36:28
  website,
• 36:29
  but
• 36:29
  reading
• 36:29
  Hollywood
• 36:30
  Reporter.
• 36:30
  And
• 36:30
  this
• 36:30
  is
• 36:31
  when
• 36:31
  I
• 36:31
  reached
• 36:31
  out
• 36:31
  to
• 36:31
  you?
• 36:31
  Because
• 36:32
  I
• 36:32
  was
• 36:33
  reading
• 36:33
  this
• 36:33
  article
• 36:34
  and,
• 36:34
  you
• 36:35
  know,
• 36:35
  saw
• 36:35
  a
• 36:35
  headline
• 36:36
  about
• 36:36
  a
• 36:36
  Bad
• 36:36
  idea
• 36:37
  comic
• 36:37
  being
• 36:37
  adapted
• 36:38
  and
• 36:38
  I
• 36:38
  was
• 36:38
  like,
• 36:39
  oh,
• 36:39
  that's
• 36:39
  cool.
• 36:39
  And
• 36:39
  then
• 36:39
  it
• 36:40
  says,
• 36:40
  you
• 36:40
  know,
• 36:40
  new
• 36:40
  book
• 36:40
  from
• 36:41
  Robert
• 36:41
  Van
• 36:41
  did
• 36:41
  he.
• 36:41
  I
• 36:41
  was
• 36:41
  like,
• 36:41
  wait,
• 36:42
  I
• 36:42
  know
• 36:42
  that
• 36:42
  guy.
• 36:43
  And
• 36:43
  so,
• 36:43
  but
• 36:44
  this
• 36:44
  is
• 36:44
  a
• 36:44
  really
• 36:44
  cool
• 36:45
  thing
• 36:45
  because
• 36:46
  the
• 36:46
  comic
• 36:46
  is
• 36:47
  being
• 36:47
  made
• 36:47
  in
• 36:48
  conjunction
• 36:48
  with
• 36:49
  the
• 36:49
  movie
• 36:49
  version,
• 36:50
  which
• 36:50
  Derek
• 36:51
  Kolstead,
• 36:52
  who
• 36:52
  you've
• 36:52
  collaborated
• 36:52
  with
• 36:53
  before
• 36:54
  spearheading,
• 36:55
  he's
• 36:55
  one
• 36:55
  of
• 36:55
  the
• 36:55
  creators
• 36:56
  of
• 36:56
  the
• 36:56
  John
• 36:56
  Wick
• 36:56
  franchise.
• 36:57
  So
• 36:57
  can
• 36:58
  you
• 36:58
  talk
• 36:58
  about
• 36:58
  that
• 36:58
  aspect,
• 36:59
  how,
• 36:59
  you
• 36:59
  know,
• 36:59
  it's
• 36:59
  a
• 37:00
  great
• 37:00
  comic
• 37:00
  and
• 37:00
  also,
• 37:01
  you
• 37:01
  know,
• 37:02
  it's
• 37:02
  being
• 37:03
  paired
• 37:03
  with
• 37:03
  the
• 37:04
  cinematic
• 37:04
  element
• 37:05
  as
• 37:05
  well.
• 37:05
  Yeah.
• 37:06
  So
• 37:07
  yeah,
• 37:07
  Derek
• 37:08
  Kad
• 37:08
  is
• 37:08
  creator
• 37:09
  John
• 37:09
  Wick
• 37:10
  SCREENWRITER
• 37:10
  for
• 37:11
  I
• 37:11
  can't
• 37:11
  remember
• 37:12
  which
• 37:12
  films,
• 37:12
  but
• 37:12
  I
• 37:13
  think
• 37:13
  the
• 37:13
  first
• 37:13
  three.
• 37:15
  But
• 37:15
  the
• 37:16
  character
• 37:16
  John
• 37:16
  Wick
• 37:16
  is
• 37:17
  actually
• 37:17
  named
• 37:17
  after
• 37:17
  his
• 37:17
  grandfather.
• 37:18
  His
• 37:18
  grandfather's
• 37:19
  name
• 37:19
  is
• 37:19
  John
• 37:19
  Wick.
• 37:21
  I
• 37:21
  was
• 37:22
  working
• 37:22
  with
• 37:22
  him
• 37:22
  on
• 37:23
  Plan
• 37:23
  of

  I

  I'd

  this?
• 37:43
  You
• 37:43
  know,
• 37:44
  we're,
• 37:44
  we're
• 37:44
  putting
• 37:45
  it
• 37:45
  out
• 37:45
  probably
• 37:45
  sometime

  but
• 37:47
  we

  you'd

  he

  actually
• 37:52
  absolutely
• 37:52
  loved
• 37:53
  it
• 37:53
  and
• 37:53
  so

  decided

• 37:59
  are
• 38:00
  so
• 38:00

• 38:00
  He's
• 38:01
  such
• 38:01
  a
• 38:01
  strong
• 38:01
  writer.
• 38:02
  I
• 38:02
  remember
• 38:03
  watching
• 38:03

• 38:04
  and

  much

  of

• 38:10
  was

  It's

• 38:11
  of
• 38:11
  those
• 38:11
  things
• 38:12
  you
• 38:12
  watch
• 38:12
  as
• 38:12
  a
• 38:12
  writer
• 38:13
  and
• 38:13
  you're
• 38:13
  like,
• 38:13
  man,
• 38:13
  I
• 38:13
  wish
• 38:13
  I
• 38:14
  thought
• 38:14
  of
• 38:14
  that
• 38:14
  stuff,
• 38:14
  you
• 38:14
  know,
• 38:15
  like
• 38:15
  the
• 38:15
  guys
• 38:16
  are
• 38:16
  coming
• 38:16
  and
• 38:16
  clean
• 38:17
  up
• 38:17
  after
• 38:17
  you
• 38:17
  kill
• 38:17
  them,
• 38:18
  and
• 38:18
  they
• 38:18
  got
• 38:19
  little
• 38:19
  squeegees
• 38:19
  and
• 38:19
  they're
• 38:20
  just
• 38:20
  like
• 38:20
  house
• 38:20
  cleaners,
• 38:21
  but
• 38:21
  they're
• 38:21
  cleaning
• 38:21
  up
• 38:21
  dead
• 38:21
  bodies,
• 38:22
  you
• 38:22
  know,
• 38:22
  and
• 38:22
  all
• 38:22
  these
• 38:23
  little
• 38:23
  things,
• 38:23
  the
• 38:23
  gold
• 38:23
  coins
• 38:24
  and
• 38:24
  all
• 38:24
  that
• 38:24
  stuff,
• 38:25
  you
• 38:25
  know,
• 38:25
  the
• 38:25
  hotel
• 38:26
  that
• 38:26
  you're
• 38:26
  not
• 38:26
  allowed
• 38:26
  to
• 38:26
  kill
• 38:26
  anybody
• 38:27
  in.
• 38:27
  It's
• 38:27
  their
• 38:27
  only
• 38:28
  safe
• 38:28
  place.
• 38:28
  And
• 38:29
  so
• 38:30
  absolutely
• 38:30
  loved
• 38:30
  all
• 38:31
  that
• 38:31
  stuff.
• 38:31
  And
• 38:31
  so
• 38:31
  when
• 38:31
  he
• 38:31
  said
• 38:31
  he
• 38:32
  wanted
• 38:32
  to
• 38:32
  come
• 38:32
  aboard,
• 38:33
  such
• 38:34
  a,
• 38:34
  such
• 38:34
  a
• 38:34
  huge
• 38:34
  compliment,
• 38:35
  you
• 38:35
  know,
• 38:35
  and,
• 38:36
  and
• 38:36
  then
• 38:36
  from
• 38:36
  there,
• 38:38
  you
• 38:38
  know,
• 38:38
  he
• 38:38
  put
• 38:38
  together
• 38:39
  his,
• 38:39
  his
• 38:41
  treatment
• 38:41
  based
• 38:42
  off
• 38:42
  the
• 38:42
  comic
• 38:43
  and
• 38:43
  what
• 38:43
  we've
• 38:43
  done
• 38:43
  in
• 38:44
  the
• 38:44
  comic
• 38:44
  and
• 38:46
  you
• 38:46
  know,
• 38:47
  Bad
• 38:47
  Idea
• 38:47
  showed
• 38:47
  that
• 38:48
  to,
• 38:48
  to
• 38:48
  Colin
• 38:49
  Farrell
• 38:49
  and
• 38:51
  was
• 38:51
  I
• 38:51
  think
• 38:51
  the
• 38:51
  first
• 38:52
  actor
• 38:52
  we
• 38:52
  showed
• 38:52
  it
• 38:52
  to
• 38:52
  and
• 38:53
  Colin
• 38:53
  Farrell
• 38:53
  was
• 38:53
  very
• 38:54
  excited
• 38:54
  and
• 38:55
  has
• 38:56
  come
• 38:56
  on
• 38:56
  board
• 38:56
  to,
• 38:57
  to
• 38:57
  star
• 38:57
  as
• 38:57
  Father
• 38:58
  Roy.
• 38:58
  And
• 38:59
  so
• 39:00
  yeah,
• 39:01
  so
• 39:01
  it's
• 39:01
  moving,
• 39:03
  moving
• 39:03
  forward
• 39:03
  at
• 39:03
  a
• 39:04
  pretty
• 39:04
  good
• 39:04
  pace.
• 39:04
  And
• 39:05
  you
• 39:05
  know
• 39:05
  these
• 39:05
  things
• 39:05
  are
• 39:06
  very
• 39:06
  complicated.
• 39:07
  A
• 39:07
  lot
• 39:07
  of
• 39:08
  things
• 39:08
  that
• 39:08
  have
• 39:08
  to
• 39:08
  happen
• 39:08
  for
• 39:08
  them
• 39:09
  to
• 39:09
  come
• 39:09
  together
• 39:09
  and
• 39:10
  ultimately
• 39:10
  get
• 39:10
  to
• 39:11
  the
• 39:11
  screen.
• 39:11
  I
• 39:11
  know
• 39:11
  that
• 39:11
  from
• 39:12
  experience
• 39:12
  with
• 39:12
  surrogates,
• 39:13
  but
• 39:14
  we
• 39:14
  definitely
• 39:15
  have
• 39:15
  started
• 39:15
  out
• 39:16
  with
• 39:17
  you
• 39:18
  know,
• 39:18
  top,
• 39:18
  top,
• 39:19
  top
• 39:19
  people
• 39:19
  for
• 39:19
  this
• 39:20
  type
• 39:20
  of
• 39:20
  story
• 39:20
  that,
• 39:21
  that
• 39:21
  we're
• 39:21
  telling
• 39:22
  and
• 39:22
  they
• 39:22
  seem
• 39:22
  to
• 39:23
  be
• 39:23
  very
• 39:23
  enthusiastic
• 39:24
  about
• 39:24
  it
• 39:24
  and
• 39:24
  so
• 39:25
  it's
• 39:25
  a
• 39:25
  good
• 39:26
  place
• 39:26
  to
• 39:26
  be
• 39:26
  this,
• 39:27
  you
• 39:27
  know.
• 39:28
  I
• 39:28
  hope
• 39:28
  he
• 39:28
  keeps
• 39:28
  his
• 39:28
  Irish
• 39:29
  accent.
• 39:29
  I
• 39:30
  hope
• 39:30
  they
• 39:30
  like
• 39:31
  lean
• 39:31
  into,
• 39:31
  they
• 39:32
  lean
• 39:32
  into
• 39:32
  Catholic.
• 39:33
  Irish
• 39:33
  Catholic.
• 39:34
  We'll
• 39:34
  see
• 39:35
  those
• 39:35
  things
• 39:35
  happen.
• 39:36
  Above
• 39:36
  my
• 39:36
  pay
• 39:36
  grade.
• 39:39
  Yeah,
• 39:39
  we'll
• 39:39
  see
• 39:39
  what
• 39:40
  happens.
• 39:40
  Yeah.
• 39:41
  Fun.
• 39:41
  Well
• 39:42
  I,
• 39:42
  I
• 39:43
  really
• 39:43
  like
• 39:43
  it
• 39:43
  and
• 39:43
  can't
• 39:44
  recommend
• 39:44
  it
• 39:44
  enough
• 39:45
  and
• 39:45
  so
• 39:45
  I
• 39:45
  hope
• 39:45
  those,
• 39:46
  you
• 39:46
  know,
• 39:46
  tune
• 39:46
  in
• 39:47
  to
• 39:47
  the
• 39:47
  channel,
• 39:47
  listen
• 39:48
  to
• 39:48
  the
• 39:48
  pod,
• 39:49
  run
• 39:49
  out
• 39:49
  to
• 39:49
  your
• 39:49
  local
• 39:49
  store,
• 39:50
  library
• 39:51
  or
• 39:51
  digital,
• 39:52
  wherever
• 39:52
  you
• 39:52
  get
• 39:52
  digital
• 39:52
  comics
• 39:53
  and
• 39:53
  find
• 39:54
  it
• 39:54
  and
• 39:54
  I'll
• 39:54
  be,
• 39:55
  I'll
• 39:55
  be
• 39:55
  looking
• 39:55
  forward
• 39:55
  to
• 39:56
  see
• 39:56
  how
• 39:56
  it
• 39:56
  unfolds
• 39:56
  in
• 39:57
  this
• 39:57
  first
• 39:57
  story
• 39:57
  arc.
• 39:58
  And
• 39:58
  knowing
• 39:58
  that
• 39:58
  it
• 39:59
  be
• 39:59
  down
• 39:59
  the
• 39:59
  road,
• 40:00
  something
• 40:00
  I'm,
• 40:01
  I'm
• 40:01
  watching
• 40:02
  on,
• 40:02
  on
• 40:02
  the
• 40:02
  smaller
• 40:03
  big
• 40:03
  screen
• 40:03
  would
• 40:03
  be
• 40:03
  is
• 40:04
  a
• 40:04
  lot
• 40:04
  of
• 40:04
  fun
• 40:04
  too.
• 40:04
  Like
• 40:05
  I
• 40:05
  say,
• 40:05
  I
• 40:05
  was
• 40:05
  there
• 40:05
  as
• 40:06
  beginning
• 40:06
  when
• 40:06
  it
• 40:06
  all
• 40:07
  began
• 40:07
  with
• 40:07
  issue
• 40:08
  number
• 40:08
  one.
• 40:09
  It's
• 40:10
  a
• 40:10
  cool
• 40:10
  thing.
• 40:10
  And
• 40:11
  Rob,
• 40:11
  what
• 40:11
  are
• 40:11
  some
• 40:11
  other
• 40:12
  things
• 40:12
  you're
• 40:12
  working
• 40:12
  on
• 40:13
  now?
• 40:13
  Anything
• 40:14
  you
• 40:14
  want
• 40:14
  to
• 40:14
  plug?
• 40:14
  Yes,
• 40:15
  I've
• 40:15
  got
• 40:15
  plan
• 40:15
  of
• 40:15
  death
• 40:16
  I'm
• 40:16
  doing
• 40:16
  with
• 40:16
  Bad
• 40:16
  Idea.
• 40:17
  I
• 40:17
  also
• 40:17
  do
• 40:17
  a
• 40:17
  story
• 40:17
  called
• 40:18
  Survive.
• 40:18
  That's
• 40:19
  a
• 40:19
  bit
• 40:19
  of
• 40:19
  a
• 40:20
  espionage
• 40:21
  story
• 40:21
  about
• 40:21
  a
• 40:22
  Russian
• 40:22
  submarine
• 40:23
  that
• 40:23
  sinks
• 40:23
  at
• 40:23
  the
• 40:23
  bottom
• 40:23
  of
• 40:24
  the
• 40:24
  ocean
• 40:24
  and
• 40:25
  there's
• 40:25
  only
• 40:25
  two
• 40:25
  survivors.
• 40:26
  One
• 40:26
  is
• 40:26
  a
• 40:26
  Russian
• 40:27
  sailor
• 40:27
  and
• 40:27
  the
• 40:27
  other
• 40:27
  is
• 40:28
  the
• 40:28
  American
• 40:28
  saboteur
• 40:29
  who
• 40:29
  sank
• 40:29
  the
• 40:29
  ship.
• 40:29
  And
• 40:30
  they
• 40:30
  go
• 40:30
  to
• 40:30
  war
• 40:30
  against
• 40:31
  each
• 40:31
  other
• 40:31
  in
• 40:31
  this
• 40:31
  300
• 40:32
  foot
• 40:32
  long
• 40:32
  submarine.
• 40:34
  So
• 40:34
  we've
• 40:34
  got
• 40:34
  that.
• 40:36
  I
• 40:37
  announced
• 40:37
  another
• 40:37
  project
• 40:37
  with
• 40:38
  Derek
• 40:38
  Kolstad.
• 40:38
  They'll
• 40:39
  be
• 40:39
  offering
• 40:39
  Bad
• 40:39
  Idea
• 40:39
  next
• 40:40
  year
• 40:40
  called
• 40:40
  Warbird.
• 40:42
  That's
• 40:42
  more
• 40:42
  of
• 40:43
  a,
• 40:43
  I
• 40:44
  would
• 40:44
  say
• 40:44
  espionage
• 40:45
  sort
• 40:46
  of
• 40:46
  type
• 40:46
  story.
• 40:47
  It's
• 40:48
  about
• 40:49
  a,
• 40:50
  a
• 40:50
  mercenary
• 40:52
  type
• 40:52
  guy,
• 40:52
  a
• 40:52
  private
• 40:53
  contractor
• 40:53
  I
• 40:53
  guess
• 40:54
  if
• 40:54
  you
• 40:54
  will,
• 40:54
  who
• 40:55
  can
• 40:55
  drive
• 40:55
  anything
• 40:56
  and
• 40:56
  he
• 40:56
  gets
• 40:56
  hired
• 40:57
  to
• 40:57
  steal.
• 40:58
  He
• 40:58
  gets
• 40:58
  hired
• 40:58
  by
• 40:59
  the
• 40:59
  American
• 40:59
  government
• 40:59
  to
• 40:59
  steal
• 41:00
  a
• 41:00
  high
• 41:00
  tech
• 41:01
  Russian
• 41:02
  fighter
• 41:02
  jet.
• 41:03
  So
• 41:04
  we're,
• 41:04
  we've
• 41:04
  got
• 41:04
  that,
• 41:05
  that
• 41:05
  we're
• 41:05
  doing.
• 41:07
  I'm
• 41:08
  trying
• 41:08
  to
• 41:08
  remember
• 41:08
  which
• 41:08
  Things
• 41:09
  have
• 41:09
  been
• 41:09
  announced
• 41:09
  and.
• 41:09
  Which
• 41:09
  haven't
• 41:10
  I
• 41:10
  have
• 41:10
  about.
• 41:11
  Yeah,
• 41:11
  I
• 41:12
  don't
• 41:12
  think
• 41:12
  the
• 41:12
  other
• 41:12
  one
• 41:13
  has
• 41:13
  been
• 41:13
  announced
• 41:13
  yet.
• 41:15
  So
• 41:15
  those
• 41:15
  would
• 41:15
  be
• 41:15
  the
• 41:15
  ones
• 41:16
  that
• 41:16
  I
• 41:16
  could
• 41:16
  talk
• 41:16
  about
• 41:16
  for
• 41:16
  right
• 41:17
  now.
• 41:17
  Yeah,
• 41:17
  yeah,
• 41:17
  yeah.
• 41:18
  Are
• 41:18
  there
• 41:18
  any,
• 41:19
  like,
• 41:19
  characters
• 41:20
  or
• 41:20
  you.
• 41:20
  You
• 41:21
  mentioned,
• 41:21
  like,
• 41:21
  Thundercats.
• 41:22
  Are
• 41:22
  there
• 41:22
  other
• 41:22
  things
• 41:23
  out
• 41:23
  there
• 41:23
  that
• 41:23
  you're
• 41:23
  like.
• 41:24
  That
• 41:24
  would
• 41:24
  be
• 41:24
  my
• 41:24
  dream
• 41:24
  job.
• 41:25
  I
• 41:25
  would
• 41:25
  love
• 41:25
  to
• 41:25
  write
• 41:25
  that
• 41:26
  character
• 41:26
  or
• 41:26
  if
• 41:27
  Marvel
• 41:27
  or
• 41:27
  DC
• 41:27
  or.
• 41:28
  Yeah.
• 41:28
  Images
• 41:29
  go
• 41:29
  with
• 41:29
  you.
• 41:29
  And
• 41:29
  he
• 41:30
  said,
• 41:30
  yeah,
• 41:30
  yeah,
• 41:31
  dc.
• 41:31
  The
• 41:32
  two
• 41:32
  that
• 41:32
  I
• 41:32
  always
• 41:32
  wanted
• 41:32
  to
• 41:33
  do,
• 41:33
  I
• 41:33
  never
• 41:33
  got
• 41:33
  a
• 41:33
  chance
• 41:33
  to
• 41:34
  do
• 41:34
  was
• 41:34
  the
• 41:34
  JSA
• 41:36
  to
• 41:36
  write
• 41:36
  a
• 41:36
  Golden
• 41:36
  age
• 41:37
  JSA
• 41:37
  book
• 41:37
  with
• 41:37
  that
• 41:38
  original
• 41:38
  cast.
• 41:39
  And
• 41:39
  you
• 41:39
  could
• 41:39
  see
• 41:39
  that
• 41:40
  I
• 41:40
  try
• 41:40
  to
• 41:40
  squeeze
• 41:40
  them
• 41:40
  in
• 41:41
  whenever
• 41:41
  I
• 41:41
  can.
• 41:42
  Yeah,
• 41:42
  yeah.
• 41:43
  And
• 41:43
  I
• 41:43
  ended
• 41:43
  up
• 41:44
  being
• 41:44
  able
• 41:44
  to
• 41:44
  do
• 41:44
  a
• 41:44
  Wesley
• 41:44
  Dodd
• 41:45
  Sandman
• 41:45
  story
• 41:45
  with
• 41:46
  Riley
• 41:46
  Rossmo.
• 41:46
  We
• 41:47
  did
• 41:47
  a
• 41:47
  six
• 41:47
  miniseries
• 41:48
  of
• 41:48
  that.
• 41:49
  Which
• 41:49
  I
• 41:49
  really
• 41:49
  don't.
• 41:50
  You
• 41:50
  know,
• 41:50
  that
• 41:50
  book
• 41:50
  was
• 41:51
  beautiful.
• 41:51
  You
• 41:52
  guys
• 41:52
  did
• 41:52
  great.
• 41:52
  Yeah.
• 41:53
  Yep,
• 41:53
  yep.
• 41:54
  So,
• 41:54
  you
• 41:54
  know,
• 41:54
  I
• 41:54
  would
• 41:54
  love
• 41:55
  to
• 41:55
  do
• 41:55
  Our
• 41:55
  man
• 41:55
  and
• 41:56
  Wildcat
• 41:56
  and
• 41:56
  all
• 41:56
  those
• 41:57
  guys.
• 41:57
  And
• 41:57
  also
• 41:58
  Nightwing.
• 41:58
  You
• 41:58
  know,
• 41:59
  like,
• 41:59
  I'm
• 41:59
  not
• 41:59
  a
• 41:59
  Batman
• 42:00
  person
• 42:01
  at
• 42:01
  all.
• 42:01
  Like,
• 42:01
  I
• 42:01
  don't.
• 42:02
  You
• 42:02
  know,
• 42:03
  Batman
• 42:03
  is
• 42:03
  too
• 42:04
  dark
• 42:04
  and
• 42:04
  too
• 42:05
  negative
• 42:06
  for.
• 42:06
  I'm
• 42:07
  a
• 42:07
  Superman
• 42:07
  guy,
• 42:07
  not
• 42:07
  a
• 42:08
  Batman
• 42:08
  guy.
• 42:08
  Right.
• 42:08
  But.
• 42:09
  But
• 42:09
  I
• 42:09
  like
• 42:09
  Nightwing.
• 42:10
  I
• 42:10
  think
• 42:10
  Nightwing
• 42:11
  is
• 42:11
  kind
• 42:11
  of
• 42:11
  like
• 42:11
  the
• 42:11
  Clark
• 42:12
  Tant
• 42:12
  of
• 42:12
  the
• 42:12
  Bat
• 42:12
  family,
• 42:13
  you
• 42:13
  know,
• 42:13
  so.
• 42:13
  And
• 42:14
  I
• 42:14
  would
• 42:14
  like
• 42:14
  to
• 42:14
  rest
• 42:15
  Nightwing
• 42:16
  at
• 42:16
  Marvel.
• 42:17
  I've
• 42:17
  always
• 42:17
  wanted
• 42:17
  to
• 42:18
  write
• 42:18
  Cap.
• 42:19
  Then
• 42:19
  what
• 42:19
  was
• 42:20
  the
• 42:20
  one
• 42:20
  somebody
• 42:20
  said
• 42:20
  to
• 42:20
  me
• 42:21
  the
• 42:21
  other
• 42:21
  day?
• 42:21
  Oh,
• 42:22
  the
• 42:22
  Fantastic
• 42:22
  Four.
• 42:23
  I
• 42:23
  watched
• 42:23
  the
• 42:23
  Fantastic
• 42:24
  Four
• 42:24
  film,
• 42:24
  the
• 42:24
  most
• 42:25
  recent
• 42:25
  one
• 42:25
  with
• 42:25
  Pedro
• 42:25
  Pascal
• 42:26
  and
• 42:26
  all
• 42:26
  that,
• 42:26
  and
• 42:27
  I
• 42:27
  know
• 42:27
  this
• 42:28
  is
• 42:28
  cool.
• 42:28
  I
• 42:29
  think
• 42:29
  I
• 42:29
  could
• 42:29
  write
• 42:29
  this
• 42:30
  as
• 42:30
  a
• 42:30
  comic.
• 42:30
  You
• 42:31
  know,
• 42:31
  I
• 42:31
  could
• 42:31
  write
• 42:31
  these
• 42:31
  characters,
• 42:32
  the
• 42:32
  whole
• 42:32
  idea
• 42:33
  of
• 42:33
  family
• 42:33
  and
• 42:33
  all
• 42:33
  those
• 42:34
  kinds
• 42:34
  of
• 42:34
  things,
• 42:34
  you
• 42:34
  know,
• 42:34
  and
• 42:35
  so
• 42:36
  I
• 42:36
  guess
• 42:37
  those
• 42:37
  would
• 42:37
  be
• 42:37
  the
• 42:37
  ones
• 42:38
  from
• 42:38
  those
• 42:38
  sort
• 42:38
  of
• 42:39
  mainstream
• 42:40
  universes.
• 42:42
  Cool.
• 42:43
  Well,
• 42:43
  we'll
• 42:44
  keep
• 42:44
  plugging
• 42:45
  your
• 42:45
  work
• 42:45
  and.
• 42:45
  And
• 42:46
  tooting
• 42:47
  your
• 42:47
  horn
• 42:47
  and.
• 42:47
  And
• 42:48
  promoting
• 42:48
  Ordained
• 42:48
  as
• 42:49
  well.
• 42:49
  And
• 42:49
  maybe
• 42:49
  after
• 42:49
  that
• 42:50
  first
• 42:50
  arc
• 42:50
  is
• 42:50
  done,
• 42:51
  coming
• 42:51
  back
• 42:51
  on
• 42:52
  and.
• 42:52
  And
• 42:52
  once
• 42:52
  it's
• 42:53
  said
• 42:53
  and
• 42:53
  done
• 42:53
  or.
• 42:53
  Or
• 42:54
  get
• 42:54
  ready
• 42:54
  for
• 42:54
  it,
• 42:54
  if
• 42:55
  there's
• 42:55
  any
• 42:55
  more
• 42:55
  development
• 42:55
  with
• 42:56
  movie
• 42:57
  and
• 42:57
  stuff,
• 42:57
  we'll.
• 42:57
  We'll
• 42:58
  have
• 42:58
  you
• 42:58
  back
• 42:58
  on
• 42:58
  to
• 42:58
  kind
• 42:58
  of
• 42:58
  promote
• 42:59
  and
• 42:59
  do
• 42:59
  that
• 43:00
  kind
• 43:00
  of
• 43:00
  stuff,
• 43:00
  too.
• 43:00
  That
• 43:00
  would
• 43:00
  be
• 43:01
  fun.
• 43:01
  Yeah.
• 43:01
  I
• 43:01
  appreciate
• 43:02
  it.
• 43:02
  Whatever
• 43:02
  you
• 43:02
  guys
• 43:03
  need.
• 43:03
  Always
• 43:04
  happy
• 43:04
  to
• 43:04
  talk
• 43:04
  to
• 43:04
  y'.
• 43:05
  All.
• 43:05
  So
• 43:05
  thanks.
• 43:06
  All
• 43:07
  right,
• 43:07
  so,
• 43:07
  Kevin,
• 43:08
  as
• 43:08
  wrap
• 43:09
  up
• 43:09
  here,
• 43:09
  what
• 43:09
  are
• 43:09
  we
• 43:10
  geeking
• 43:10
  out
• 43:10
  on?
• 43:10
  You
• 43:10
  know,
• 43:11
  we
• 43:11
  are
• 43:11
  the
• 43:12
  priests
• 43:12
  to
• 43:12
  the
• 43:12
  geeks.
• 43:12
  We
• 43:12
  are
• 43:12
  geekologists.
• 43:13
  We.
• 43:14
  We.
• 43:14
  There's
• 43:14
  plenty
• 43:15
  of
• 43:15
  things
• 43:15
  Geek
• 43:15
  out
• 43:16
  on.
• 43:16
  Here
• 43:16
  we
• 43:16
  are
• 43:16
  2026.
• 43:17
  No
• 43:18
  shortage
• 43:18
  of
• 43:19
  things
• 43:19
  to
• 43:19
  geek
• 43:19
  out
• 43:19
  on,
• 43:20
  whether
• 43:20
  it's
• 43:21
  crime
• 43:21
  or
• 43:22
  mystery
• 43:22
  or
• 43:22
  superhero
• 43:23
  stuff.
• 43:24
  Kevin
• 43:25
  let
• 43:25
  you
• 43:25
  go
• 43:25
  first
• 43:25
  so
• 43:26
  Rob
• 43:26
  can.
• 43:26
  Can
• 43:27
  think
• 43:27
  about
• 43:27
  it.
• 43:28
  But.
• 43:28
  But
• 43:28
  what?
• 43:29
  Other
• 43:29
  than
• 43:29
  Stranger
• 43:30
  Things?
• 43:30
  Because
• 43:30
  I
• 43:30
  know
• 43:30
  you're
• 43:30
  gonna
• 43:30
  say
• 43:31
  straight.
• 43:31
  Out
• 43:31
  of
• 43:31
  that,
• 43:31
  yeah,
• 43:31
  of
• 43:31
  course,
• 43:32
  yeah.
• 43:32
  Other
• 43:32
  actors
• 43:33
  we
• 43:33
  know.
• 43:33
  That's
• 43:33
  a
• 43:33
  given.
• 43:34
  That's
• 43:34
  a
• 43:34
  given.
• 43:34
  All
• 43:34
  right.
• 43:35
  What?
• 43:37
  Yeah,
• 43:38
  no,
• 43:38
  it
• 43:38
  was
• 43:38
  fun.
• 43:38
  I
• 43:38
  actually
• 43:39
  got
• 43:39
  to
• 43:39
  see
• 43:39
  the
• 43:40
  finale.
• 43:40
  Well,
• 43:40
  at
• 43:41
  home
• 43:41
  first,
• 43:41
  but
• 43:41
  then
• 43:42
  in
• 43:42
  theaters
• 43:42
  on
• 43:43
  New
• 43:43
  Year's
• 43:43
  Day.
• 43:43
  That
• 43:43
  was
• 43:43
  a
• 43:44
  lot
• 43:44
  of
• 43:44
  fun.
• 43:44
  We'll
• 43:45
  do
• 43:45
  our
• 43:45
  full
• 43:46
  breakdown
• 43:46
  of
• 43:46
  that
• 43:46
  later.
• 43:47
  But
• 43:47
  I've
• 43:48
  been
• 43:48
  going
• 43:48
  back
• 43:48
  to.
• 43:49
  Something
• 43:49
  is
• 43:50
  Killing
• 43:50
  the
• 43:50
  Children,
• 43:51
  which
• 43:51
  is
• 43:51
  a
• 43:51
  book
• 43:52
  I
• 43:52
  really
• 43:52
  liked
• 43:53
  by
• 43:53
  James
• 43:54
  Tinian
• 43:54
  and
• 43:55
  Worth.
• 43:56
  And
• 43:56
  I'm
• 43:56
  never
• 43:57
  going
• 43:57
  to
• 43:57
  pronounce
• 43:57
  his
• 43:57
  name
• 43:57
  right,
• 43:58
  so
• 43:58
  I
• 43:58
  won't
• 43:58
  really
• 43:59
  try
• 43:59
  there.
• 44:00
  But.
• 44:00
  But
• 44:01
  that.
• 44:01
  But
• 44:01
  also
• 44:02
  kind
• 44:02
  of
• 44:02
  in
• 44:02
  the
• 44:02
  vein
• 44:02
  of
• 44:03
  Stranger
• 44:03
  Things.
• 44:03
  It's
• 44:03
  a
• 44:03
  really
• 44:04
  good
• 44:05
  horror
• 44:05
  comic
• 44:05
  that
• 44:06
  has
• 44:06
  that
• 44:06
  kind
• 44:06
  of
• 44:07
  like
• 44:07
  the
• 44:08
  missing
• 44:08
  kids
• 44:08
  feel,
• 44:09
  monsters
• 44:09
  that
• 44:10
  only
• 44:10
  kids
• 44:10
  can
• 44:11
  see.
• 44:11
  I
• 44:11
  love
• 44:12
  the
• 44:12
  art,
• 44:12
  so
• 44:12
  I'm
• 44:12
  going
• 44:13
  to.
• 44:13
  That
• 44:13
  from
• 44:13
  the
• 44:13
  beginning.
• 44:14
  Is
• 44:14
  that
• 44:14
  pitch
• 44:14
  to
• 44:15
  be
• 44:15
  like
• 44:15
  a
• 44:15
  TV
• 44:16
  or
• 44:16
  movie
• 44:16
  as
• 44:17
  well?
• 44:17
  Because
• 44:18
  I
• 44:18
  know
• 44:18
  the
• 44:18
  first
• 44:18
  issue
• 44:19
  is
• 44:19
  skyrocketing
• 44:20
  on
• 44:20
  ebay
• 44:21
  and
• 44:22
  which
• 44:22
  I
• 44:22
  had
• 44:22
  the
• 44:22
  first
• 44:23
  issue,
• 44:23
  I
• 44:23
  was
• 44:23
  like,
• 44:23
  I
• 44:23
  think
• 44:23
  I
• 44:23
  have
• 44:24
  that.
• 44:24
  And
• 44:24
  it's
• 44:24
  like
• 44:25
  400,
• 44:25
  500.
• 44:26
  Oh,
• 44:26
  yeah,
• 44:26
  yeah,
• 44:27
  yeah,
• 44:27
  yeah.
• 44:28
  I
• 44:28
  have
• 44:28
  them
• 44:28
  all
• 44:29
  in
• 44:29
  trades.
• 44:29
  But
• 44:30
  yeah,
• 44:30
  they
• 44:30
  are
• 44:31
  developing
• 44:31
  it
• 44:31
  as
• 44:31
  a
• 44:32
  series
• 44:32
  like
• 44:32
  Rob
• 44:33
  was
• 44:33
  talking
• 44:33
  about.
• 44:33
  I
• 44:33
  mean,
• 44:34
  you
• 44:34
  know,
• 44:34
  of
• 44:34
  course
• 44:34
  it
• 44:34
  takes
• 44:35
  a
• 44:35
  lot
• 44:35
  to,
• 44:35
  like,
• 44:35
  actually
• 44:36
  get
• 44:36
  it
• 44:36
  to.
• 44:37
  But
• 44:37
  I
• 44:37
  believe
• 44:38
  it.
• 44:38
  It
• 44:39
  might
• 44:39
  be.
• 44:39
  Netflix
• 44:39
  is
• 44:40
  working
• 44:40
  on
• 44:40
  that.
• 44:41
  I
• 44:41
  think
• 44:41
  I
• 44:42
  read
• 44:42
  about
• 44:42
  it,
• 44:42
  but.
• 44:43
  But
• 44:43
  it
• 44:43
  would
• 44:43
  be
• 44:43
  a
• 44:44
  great
• 44:44
  series
• 44:44
  if
• 44:44
  they.
• 44:44
  I
• 44:45
  mean,
• 44:45
  they.
• 44:45
  They
• 44:45
  certainly
• 44:46
  need
• 44:46
  a
• 44:46
  good
• 44:46
  Stranger
• 44:47
  Things
• 44:47
  replacement,
• 44:48
  so
• 44:48
  it
• 44:48
  makes
• 44:48
  sense.
• 44:49
  It
• 44:49
  would.
• 44:49
  It
• 44:50
  would.
• 44:51
  Cool.
• 44:51
  I
• 44:51
  like
• 44:52
  it.
• 44:52
  Rob,
• 44:52
  what
• 44:52
  are
• 44:53
  you
• 44:53
  geeking
• 44:53
  out
• 44:53
  on
• 44:53
  these
• 44:53
  days?
• 44:54
  Oh,
• 44:54
  man.
• 44:55
  Well,
• 44:55
  college
• 44:55
  basketball
• 44:56
  season
• 44:56
  just
• 44:56
  started,
• 44:57
  so
• 44:57
  I'm
• 44:57
  heavy
• 44:58
  into
• 44:58
  that.
• 44:58
  I
• 44:58
  watch
• 44:58
  college
• 44:59
  basketball
• 44:59
  pretty
• 45:00
  much
• 45:00
  not.
• 45:01
  I
• 45:01
  graduated
• 45:01
  from
• 45:02
  University
• 45:02
  of
• 45:02
  Florida,
• 45:02
  so
• 45:03
  University
• 45:03
  of
• 45:03
  Florida
• 45:03
  is
• 45:03
  my
• 45:03
  team.
• 45:04
  Current
• 45:04
  reigning
• 45:04
  champions.
• 45:07
  Yeah.
• 45:08
  My
• 45:08
  second
• 45:08
  team
• 45:08
  is
• 45:08
  Providence
• 45:09
  College
• 45:09
  because
• 45:09
  all
• 45:10
  my
• 45:10
  family
• 45:10
  is
• 45:11
  originally
• 45:11
  from
• 45:11
  Providence,
• 45:12
  Rhode
• 45:12
  Island.
• 45:12
  I
• 45:12
  used
• 45:12
  to
• 45:12
  spend
• 45:12
  my
• 45:13
  summers
• 45:13
  up
• 45:13
  there
• 45:13
  when
• 45:13
  I
• 45:13
  was
• 45:14
  a
• 45:14
  kid.
• 45:14
  The
• 45:15
  very
• 45:15
  first
• 45:16
  NCAA
• 45:17
  tournament
• 45:17
  I
• 45:17
  ever
• 45:17
  watched
• 45:18
  was
• 45:18
  the
• 45:18
  year
• 45:18
  Providence
• 45:19
  College
• 45:19
  went
• 45:19
  to
• 45:19
  the
• 45:19
  Final
• 45:19
  Four.
• 45:20
  And
• 45:20
  so
• 45:21
  big
• 45:21
  Providence
• 45:21
  College
• 45:22
  fan,
• 45:22
  too.
• 45:24
  So.
• 45:24
  Yeah.
• 45:24
  So
• 45:24
  those.
• 45:26
  I'm
• 45:26
  reading
• 45:26
  Cormac
• 45:27
  McCarthy
• 45:29
  right
• 45:29
  now.
• 45:29
  I
• 45:29
  don't
• 45:29
  know
• 45:30
  how
• 45:30
  geeky
• 45:30
  that
• 45:30
  is,
• 45:31
  but
• 45:32
  I'm
• 45:32
  waiting
• 45:32
  for
• 45:33
  cars
• 45:33
  to
• 45:33
  you.
• 45:34
  I'm
• 45:34
  reading
• 45:34
  Blood
• 45:34
  Meridian,
• 45:35
  which
• 45:35
  I'd
• 45:35
  never
• 45:36
  read.
• 45:36
  Yeah,
• 45:37
  yeah,
• 45:38
  it's
• 45:39
  fascinating.
• 45:40
  It's
• 45:41
  like
• 45:41
  every
• 45:41
  single
• 45:41
  sentence
• 45:42
  in
• 45:42
  the
• 45:42
  book
• 45:42
  is
• 45:42
  better
• 45:42
  than
• 45:43
  anything
• 45:43
  I'll
• 45:43
  ever
• 45:43
  write
• 45:43
  in
• 45:44
  my
• 45:44
  life.
• 45:44
  It's
• 45:44
  crazy
• 45:44
  how
• 45:45
  he
• 45:45
  does
• 45:45
  it.
• 45:46
  Nice.
• 45:47
  So
• 45:47
  I'm
• 45:47
  reading
• 45:48
  that.
• 45:48
  What
• 45:48
  am
• 45:48
  I
• 45:49
  watching
• 45:49
  on
• 45:49
  TV
• 45:49
  right
• 45:50
  now?
• 45:51
  I
• 45:52
  read
• 45:52
  David
• 45:52
  Milch's
• 45:53
  book
• 45:53
  recently.
• 45:53
  He
• 45:53
  wrote
• 45:54
  a
• 45:54
  book
• 45:54
  a
• 45:54
  few
• 45:54
  years
• 45:54
  ago.
• 45:54
  David
• 45:55
  Milch
• 45:55
  was
• 45:55
  the
• 45:55
  creator
• 45:55
  of
• 45:55
  NYPD
• 45:56
  Blue,
• 45:57
  Deadwood,
• 46:00
  a
• 46:00
  couple
• 46:00
  other
• 46:00
  TV
• 46:01
  series.
• 46:01
  And
• 46:02
  so
• 46:02
  I
• 46:02
  read
• 46:02
  his
• 46:02
  book.
• 46:03
  It's
• 46:03
  kind
• 46:04
  of
• 46:04
  about
• 46:04
  his
• 46:04
  life,
• 46:04
  but
• 46:04
  also
• 46:05
  a
• 46:05
  bit
• 46:05
  about
• 46:05
  writing.
• 46:06
  Then
• 46:06
  when
• 46:06
  that
• 46:06
  was
• 46:06
  over,
• 46:07
  I
• 46:07
  re.
• 46:07
  Watched
• 46:07
  all
• 46:07
  of
• 46:08
  Deadwood.
• 46:09
  Just
• 46:09
  finished
• 46:09
  that
• 46:09
  last
• 46:10
  week.
• 46:11
  I
• 46:12
  guess
• 46:12
  that's
• 46:12
  kind
• 46:12
  of
• 46:12
  what
• 46:12
  I've
• 46:12
  been
• 46:13
  into
• 46:13
  lately.
• 46:13
  Yeah.
• 46:14
  Nice.
• 46:14
  Yeah.
• 46:15
  Yeah.
• 46:15
  I.
• 46:16
  You
• 46:16
  know,
• 46:16
  I.
• 46:17
  I'm
• 46:17
  liking
• 46:17
  what.
• 46:18
  I'm
• 46:18
  geeking
• 46:19
  out
• 46:19
  on
• 46:19
  what
• 46:19
  DC's
• 46:20
  doing
• 46:20
  with
• 46:20
  DC
• 46:21
  KO
• 46:21
  I'm
• 46:21
  loving
• 46:22
  the
• 46:22
  tie
• 46:22
  ins.
• 46:22
  I'm
• 46:22
  loving
• 46:23
  that
• 46:23
  event
• 46:24
  is
• 46:24
  fun.
• 46:24
  Loved.
• 46:25
  Yeah,
• 46:25
  we
• 46:25
  had
• 46:26
  fun
• 46:26
  with
• 46:26
  Stranger
• 46:26
  Things,
• 46:26
  but.
• 46:27
  But
• 46:27
  one,
• 46:27
  a
• 46:27
  show
• 46:28
  that
• 46:28
  city
• 46:28
  and
• 46:28
  I
• 46:29
  discovered
• 46:30
  is
• 46:30
  a
• 46:31
  Man
• 46:31
  on
• 46:31
  the
• 46:31
  Inside,
• 46:32
  which
• 46:32
  is
• 46:33
  Ted
• 46:34
  Danson
• 46:34
  as
• 46:35
  a
• 46:35
  retiree
• 46:36
  widow
• 46:37
  who
• 46:37
  is
• 46:37
  a

• 46:40
  It's
• 46:41
  Michael
• 46:41
  Schur,
• 46:41
  who's
• 46:42
  the
• 46:42
  same
• 46:42
  one.
• 46:42
  Same
• 46:43
  dude
• 46:43
  who
• 46:43
  did
• 46:43
  Parks
• 46:44
  and
• 46:44
  Rec
• 46:44
  and.
• 46:44
  And
• 46:44
  the
• 46:45
  Good
• 46:45

• 46:45
  And
• 46:45
  as
• 46:45
  I
• 46:46
  was
• 46:46
  watching
• 46:46
  it,
• 46:46
  like,
• 46:47
  the.
• 46:47
  The
• 46:47
  cut
• 46:48
  shots,
• 46:48
  the
• 46:48
  editing,
• 46:49
  the
• 46:49
  music,
• 46:49
  and
• 46:50
  just
• 46:50
  how
• 46:50
  much
• 46:50
  I
• 46:50
  love
• 46:51
  every
• 46:51
  single
• 46:51
  character
• 46:52
  on
• 46:52
  the
• 46:52
  show.
• 46:52
  I'm
• 46:53
  like.
• 46:53
  Like,
• 46:53
  I
• 46:53
  think
• 46:54
  this
• 46:54
  is
• 46:54
  my
• 46:54
  church.
• 46:54
  Because
• 46:55
  this
• 46:55
  is
• 46:55
  like
• 46:55
  a
• 46:55
  spitting
• 46:56
  image
• 46:56
  of.
• 46:56
  Of
• 46:56
  the
• 46:56
  Good
• 46:57
  Place.
• 46:57
  And
• 46:57
  sure
• 46:58
  enough,
• 46:58
  that's
• 46:58
  what
• 46:58
  it
• 46:58
  is.
• 46:59
  And
• 46:59
  we
• 47:00
  just
• 47:00
  finished
• 47:00
  season
• 47:00
  two
• 47:00
  last
• 47:01
  night.
• 47:01
  And
• 47:01
  it
• 47:01
  really
• 47:01
  is
• 47:02
  charming.
• 47:02
  It's
• 47:02
  good.
• 47:03
  It's
• 47:03
  fun.
• 47:04
  I.
• 47:04
  I
• 47:04
  was
• 47:04
  like,
• 47:04
  all
• 47:05
  right,
• 47:05
  I
• 47:05
  gotta
• 47:05
  watch
• 47:05
  another.
• 47:05
  I
• 47:05
  wanna.
• 47:06
  I
• 47:06
  wanna
• 47:06
  see
• 47:06
  who
• 47:06
  did
• 47:07
  it.
• 47:07
  It's
• 47:07
  a
• 47:07
  really
• 47:08
  low
• 47:09
  fake
• 47:10
  mystery
• 47:11
  without,
• 47:11
  like,
• 47:12
  you
• 47:12
  know,
• 47:12
  all
• 47:12
  the.
• 47:13
  After
• 47:13
  watching
• 47:14
  Wake
• 47:14
  Up
• 47:14
  Dead
• 47:14
  man
• 47:15
  and.
• 47:15
  And
• 47:15
  all
• 47:15
  those
• 47:15
  kinds
• 47:16
  of
• 47:16
  things,
• 47:16
  I'm
• 47:16
  like,
• 47:16
  okay,
• 47:17
  what's
• 47:17
  going
• 47:17
  on?
• 47:17
  And
• 47:17
  then.
• 47:19
  This
• 47:19
  was
• 47:19
  good.
• 47:19
  So
• 47:20
  I
• 47:20
  highly
• 47:20
  recommend
• 47:20
  a
• 47:21
  man
• 47:21
  on
• 47:21
  the
• 47:21
  Inside.
• 47:21
  Go,
• 47:21
  go
• 47:22
  check
• 47:22
  it
• 47:22
  out.
• 47:22
  It's
• 47:23
  a.
• 47:23
  It's
• 47:23
  an
• 47:23
  easy
• 47:24
  watch.
• 47:24
  It's
• 47:24
  a
• 47:24
  fun
• 47:24
  watch.
• 47:25
  Yeah.
• 47:25
  Cool.
• 47:26
  Well,
• 47:26
  that
• 47:26
  was
• 47:27
  fun,
• 47:27
  Rob.
• 47:27
  Thanks
• 47:28

• 47:28

• 47:32

• 47:32
  here.
• 47:32
  He's
• 47:33

• 47:33

• 47:33
  at
• 47:33
  it.
