- 0:00Speaker 1: And I'm going to ask you guys this question because
- 0:02Speaker 1: I was listening to some music and listening to a
- 0:04Speaker 1: Ross interview. When do we go back from by back
- 0:08Speaker 1: to block? And you guys talked about this with Merrow right,
- 0:12Speaker 1: and I think you made a great point that the
- 0:14Speaker 1: gambling epidemic will be equal to or surpass the crack epidemic.
- 0:19Speaker 1: When do we go from wanting generational wealth to gambling overnight?
- 0:27Speaker 2: You want to start?
- 0:28Speaker 1: I mean it hit like it hit almost in a
- 0:33Speaker 1: three month window where everybody just said forget anything long term,
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm living for today.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Yeah, when you think of that about the time, especially
- 0:42Speaker 3: with the Bye Black the block and you talk about
- 0:44Speaker 3: four to four four From cultural moments, Nipsey, obviously Rest
- 0:48Speaker 3: in Peace was a part of that movement. There was
- 0:50Speaker 3: a shift that was happening definitely in our culture for sure,
- 0:52Speaker 3: and obviously in our community. Our platform gets launched in
- 0:56Speaker 3: twenty nineteen, market Mondays is in twenty There are pivotal
- 1:01Speaker 3: moments in terms of the idea of what we should
- 1:04Speaker 3: be doing with our money, how we should be invested
- 1:06Speaker 3: in it, how should we be treated learning about entrepreneurship, business,
- 1:10Speaker 3: all those things, and so at the same time, you
- 1:13Speaker 3: get companies like Flutter, which is the owner of FANDU
- 1:19Speaker 3: and draftings.
- 1:21Speaker 2: They ipo in the market, right.
- 1:24Speaker 3: And so you're fighting this uphill battle to educate people
- 1:27Speaker 3: about what to do with money while there is a billion,
- 1:31Speaker 3: multi billion dollar push to push gambling sports betting, and
- 1:37Speaker 3: now what we have.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Is predictive markets.
- 1:40Speaker 3: People want to make money fast, and they want to
- 1:43Speaker 3: make it in a hurry. And when people obviously with
- 1:48Speaker 3: the things that we know in our community is sports
- 1:51Speaker 3: and entertainment, right, and if we can make money quick
- 1:53Speaker 3: from not playing sports but being involved in betting in it,
- 1:56Speaker 3: then people are going to do that because it's gamified.
- 1:59Speaker 3: It's kind of the you know, the scarlet letter that
- 2:02Speaker 3: they used to put on Robinhood. You're making this too fun,
- 2:05Speaker 3: you're making this gamified, you're making it addictive where people
- 2:08Speaker 3: are going to treat it like gambling. So you put
- 2:11Speaker 3: all those things in the gumbo pot. The idea that
- 2:14Speaker 3: people are hurting. People are losing jobs. You know, obviously, infation,
- 2:18Speaker 3: living wages, the price of anything from gas the grocery
- 2:22Speaker 3: has going up. People are trying to figure out how
- 2:24Speaker 3: can I make money fast? And when we don't know
- 2:27Speaker 3: what to do. We go back to the things that
- 2:29Speaker 3: we've seen historically, whether it was playing a lotto, whether
- 2:33Speaker 3: it was a number runner. Now obviously younger and younger
- 2:37Speaker 3: people are doing sportsban How can we make money fast?
- 2:40Speaker 2: How can we give our money away? Because we don't
- 2:42Speaker 2: know what to do with it.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Then you put in the music, you put in the
- 2:45Speaker 3: advertisement inside of the cultural significant pieces of media in
- 2:50Speaker 3: our community.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It's a great choice of words.
- 2:55Speaker 3: It's a calculated mission that has been working effectively, and
- 2:59Speaker 3: it's one that we can bat every single day.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Public services, public services, please because I want to, just
- 3:05Speaker 4: because this is something that Okay, let's let's address this
- 3:09Speaker 4: for the for the crowd that continuously says, well, you
- 3:13Speaker 4: guys talk about investing and the stock market, and that
- 3:18Speaker 4: is gambling. Technically, that is gambling. So you're trading one
- 3:21Speaker 4: casino for another.
- 3:22Speaker 2: So nice.
- 3:23Speaker 4: So let's let's go through the numbers. If you sports
- 3:27Speaker 4: bet right, this is look axat GBT. If you don't
- 3:30Speaker 4: believe me, you have a ninety to ninety seven percent
- 3:34Speaker 4: chance of losing long term and sports betting ninety to
- 3:37Speaker 4: ninety seven percent long term chance that you'll lose money
- 3:41Speaker 4: if you if you sports bet if you invest in
- 3:43Speaker 4: the S and P five hundred over the course of
- 3:46Speaker 4: any rolling twenty year period, do you what do you
- 3:49Speaker 4: think your chance has been to lose money? If you
- 3:53Speaker 4: invest in the S and P five hundred over a
- 3:54Speaker 4: twenty year rolling period, of any twenty year rolling period,
- 3:58Speaker 4: what was your chance of losing money?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Zero? Zero percent.
- 4:02Speaker 4: So this is this is important because we really got
- 4:03Speaker 4: to educate the audience and we told you this for
- 4:06Speaker 4: six years. This is actually the final call. So violent listen,
- 4:12Speaker 4: this is the final call. You have a ninety to
- 4:15Speaker 4: ninety seven percent chance of losing in sports betting over
- 4:19Speaker 4: the course of the long term. You have a zero
- 4:23Speaker 4: chance of losing money if you invest in the S
- 4:27Speaker 4: and P five hundred over any twenty year rolling period. Now,
- 4:33Speaker 4: do you have a high probability of losing money day trading? Yes,
- 4:37Speaker 4: you do, sure, but this is market mondays, It's not
- 4:39Speaker 4: day trading mondays, for sure. I always say investing is
- 4:44Speaker 4: a game of knowledge. Gambling is a game of chance.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Investing can become synonymous with gambling when you replace knowledge
- 4:53Speaker 4: and you use chance. So when you just put money
- 4:55Speaker 4: on some random crypto or you just do a zero
- 4:58Speaker 4: day option.
- 4:59Speaker 2: You can turn.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Investing into gambling, but that's never been what we have championed.
- 5:06Speaker 4: If you invest in the S and P five hundred,
- 5:09Speaker 4: if you invest in Microsoft, if you invest in Google,
- 5:12Speaker 4: if you invest in in video and you hold them
- 5:14Speaker 4: at QQQ for a long periods of time, it's almost
- 5:18Speaker 4: impossible for you to lose money. Even I'm only saying
- 5:23Speaker 4: almost for compliance reasons. So once again, for the crew
- 5:30Speaker 4: that we got to tell the same thing to every
- 5:33Speaker 4: single day for seven years, investing and gambling are not
- 5:39Speaker 4: the same thing. If you put ten thousand dollars into
- 5:42Speaker 4: the S and P five hundred ten years ago, you
- 5:46Speaker 4: would you any amount of money that you gambled, you
- 5:50Speaker 4: would have completely lost. Right a twenty year timeframe, twenty
- 5:54Speaker 4: years ago to now, the S and P you would
- 5:57Speaker 4: have had, you would have seventy thousand dollars if you
- 5:59Speaker 4: put ten thousand in. And for the crew, that's like, well,
- 6:01Speaker 4: that's not a lot of money. The average black person
- 6:03Speaker 4: has a network for forty four thousand. So we have
- 6:07Speaker 4: to be we have to put things in perspective. Gambling
- 6:09Speaker 4: is not a pathway to build wealth. It will only
- 6:12Speaker 4: leave you broke. But that's the numbers. That's the statistics.
- 6:15Speaker 4: So if you keep saying and for you guys in
- 6:17Speaker 4: the comments, you got it. You gotta be the warriors.
- 6:19Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. You don't have to fight fives.
- 6:23Speaker 4: You gotta fight for other.
- 6:25Speaker 2: People are notated.
- 6:27Speaker 4: You look, there's a responsibility that comes with being educated.
- 6:30Speaker 4: The people that watch market Mondays are part of the
- 6:33Speaker 4: enlightened few. Don't ever think that these are the masses
- 6:36Speaker 4: of people. You're part of the enlightened fu Ignorance is bliss.
- 6:40Speaker 4: So when you come across ignorance, it's time. You got
- 6:44Speaker 4: to use your platform to combat the ignorance and teach
- 6:48Speaker 4: people because you actually have a responsibility once you're educated.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Drake really quick to you, my brother, I love you
- 6:56Speaker 1: from the bottom of my heart. If you go to
- 6:58Speaker 1: Google or had sho btianthropic any twenty year period into
- 7:03Speaker 1: the state of the pores index five hundred, whether you
- 7:06Speaker 1: bought up the top the median level or a deviation down,
- 7:11Speaker 1: you had no losses. Also, if I can read off
- 7:13Speaker 1: a couple quick stats, if you if you hold for
- 7:15Speaker 1: fifteen years and Vidia's return fifty seven thousand percent, Tesla
- 7:20Speaker 1: twenty thousand percent, broad Com fourteen thousand percent, Axon thirteen
- 7:24Speaker 1: thousand percent, Micron twelve thousand percent, Seegate nine thousand percent,
- 7:29Speaker 1: Eli Lilly four thousand percent, Apple two thousand percent, Alphabet
- 7:33Speaker 1: twenty six hundred percent.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Let's go to some non favorable ones.
- 7:36Speaker 1: D R Horton thirteen hundred percent, uh TJ Max twelve
- 7:41Speaker 1: hundred and fifty percent return ross eleven hundred percent. If
- 7:45Speaker 1: you hold for the long term, you would become wealthy.
- 7:48Speaker 1: But they advertised to our community that the way to
- 7:51Speaker 1: get rich is to flip quickly when they're holding everything
- 7:54Speaker 1: for a long period of time.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Please hold for the long term. I love y'all from
- 7:59Speaker 2: the bottom of my heart, and like what Shan said,
- 8:01Speaker 2: this is the.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Final call, Final call, final call.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Please. I didn't offend anybody there, guys.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Man, we're not going to keep saying the same thing
- 8:09Speaker 4: over and over again for years.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I think we we've covered it.
- 8:13Speaker 3: We wrote an entire book and there's a chapter on
- 8:16Speaker 3: the differences between investing and gambling. I think shout out
- 8:19Speaker 3: to to Marrow. I thought that was a dope episode,
- 8:21Speaker 3: but we break down the differences there. People understand it.
- 8:25Speaker 3: They just don't participate and people don't understand it.
- 8:29Speaker 2: A lot of people don't the mass majority, I would agree, no, yeah, no, no, yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And also I'll say this, stop letting people put flashy
- 8:41Speaker 1: things online to induce you to do things because the
- 8:45Speaker 1: wealth is not there. The important thing to ask is
- 8:47Speaker 1: what's the networth. I see a lot of people trying
- 8:50Speaker 1: to induce people in all the trips and dah dah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: dah dah. But that's how we get brought into a scam.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And then a year later everyone's like, well, how could
- 8:59Speaker 1: this go wrong? The net worth story tells the real story.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Hold for the long term, and any business that you're in,
- 9:07Speaker 1: all the games are there. And for those who are like,
- 9:09Speaker 1: well I need money now, I feel you. But every
- 9:12Speaker 1: company who knows that you need money now are robbing
- 9:15Speaker 1: you to make themselves rich. And I've talked to a
- 9:18Speaker 1: couple of people at these companies. They take the money
- 9:21Speaker 1: and put it right into the indexes and too QQQ.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Hold for the long term.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a reason why that they're publicly traded.
