- 3:58And I know I've said that on this podcast and number of
- 4:00times, it's just that when I think things are about to Take a
- 4:05turn for you know where I can, I can do more things like that,
- 4:12something else comes in and something else takes over to,
- 4:16you know, rustle up the Jimmy. So let's get our intro going
- 4:20here for the midgard, musing podcast are the midgard musings
- 4:25theme song, theme music playing intro, whatever you want to call
- 4:27it and we shall let you guys know what today's episode is
- 4:31about. We're gonna have another really
- 4:32awesome guest joining us today from The beautiful west coast of
- 4:36the United States. So let's get it.
- 4:59All right. Yeah so I have no clue and this
- 5:07is usually how it goes. I have a clue but about some
- 5:10things but what as far as what we're going to be talking about
- 5:12today with my special guest, let's let's just say that it's
- 5:18going to be quite random. I can assure you and we're going
- 5:21to just see where things go and how they go.
- 5:29His name is Liam and he holds office position and I say
- 5:37office, I mean, like a court office and Office of the Court
- 5:41position for a National Organization as I understand it
- 5:45and he's going to come on here in just a minute to clarify,
- 5:47anything that I may be mistaken or Miss speaking about.
- 5:53But a heathen organization, a National Organization and I
- 5:56believe it is like an official organization like it's Now
- 6:01though, either a 501 C or whatever, but he's going to talk
- 6:04a bit about that and we'll see where everything else goes.
- 6:07But he believed he holds a title position in an unofficial
- 6:11capacity, within that organization, which is Nan's,
- 6:16which is an abbreviation for the North American Nordic Society.
- 6:21So, we've got Liam going to be joining us and talking a bit
- 6:23about that and, you know, whatever else may strike our
- 6:28interest or set our minds on fire or striker.
- 6:31Nancy's, we're just going to ramble on a bit, you know, when
- 6:34he even to another, I've had some like Facebook Chat
- 6:39conversations with Liam. I've been on some video
- 6:42conversations with him before, not just me, but also our go,
- 6:47the dingo. So we're all like, in a group
- 6:51chat and I know some of the other guys not like, personally
- 6:55know them. But I know some of the other
- 6:56guys that are a part of Nan's that whole Ation seeming seems
- 7:02like some really really awesome cool.
- 7:04Folks to get to know you'll have to excuse me for the hiccups
- 7:07because I am drinking a brew, a beer from this Tankard, which
- 7:16has a fur cuff. For some reason wrapped around
- 7:20it and I don't know where I got this cuff thing from or what it
- 7:24even. I can't even remember what it
- 7:27came to. It's not real fur, it's like a
- 7:28faux fur. It just looked cool.
- 7:30I thought it would look cool. You know, kind almost like a
- 7:32koozie wrap it around my tanker, the Tankard is just a, you know,
- 7:36thrift store. Thank got it for like 3 bucks at
- 7:39Goodwill. So That is, it's a Gaelic hail,
- 7:45that's inside of it. So, I don't normally have beer
- 7:51during the show's. I usually have a whiskey.
- 7:54I usually how about we ski, which is definitely not an
- 7:59Italian. Drink Scotch usually has Scotch
- 8:04whiskey in my gloss and I do not have any Scotch whiskey today
- 8:10because I moved because I think at all and I'm sad about it.
- 8:15So I had this beer in the fridge since July and yeah.
- 8:23So today we're breaking it open too.
- 8:24Is away actually the time of the recording of This podcast.
- 8:27We are two days away from the start of winter nights.
- 8:31So by the time you folks are getting this out here on the
- 8:34podcast Airwaves or platforms etcetera.
- 8:38We will already have been into the second day.
- 8:43Going into the second night of winter nights which is a three
- 8:46night, long celebration. Historically speaking a three
- 8:51night, long celebration. So yeah, anyway.
- 8:54Enough from me. I'm sure you guys are ready,
- 8:56too. Meet my guest.
- 9:00So let's, let's go ahead and welcome in Liam from the North
- 9:04American Nordic Society, right? You're good.
- 9:09All right, folks, here we are. And here he is.
- 9:15Here he be that says, I'm joined with Liam.
- 9:18We go go by. Liam, is that?
- 9:20Yes, I go by Liam. All right.
- 9:23Well Halen, welcome to random G podcast sir.
- 9:26Liam from the Nan's or North American Nordic society and
- 9:30welcome. That's us, thank you.
- 9:33Thank you for having me. I'm actually pretty excited to
- 9:36be here and discuss some Concepts.
- 9:39A lot of people may not have thought about and may not have
- 9:44made the correlations to great. Great, yeah.
- 9:47And that's what I like about having people on from different.
- 9:51Not just, you know, walks of life religiously or spiritually
- 9:55but getting different Heathen, percept perceptions or
- 9:58perspectives on things because you know, one person's
- 10:04approaches or what one groups approaches, you know, I feel
- 10:07that with the differences between regions Even just in our
- 10:11country because, you know, I'm in North America Europe, North
- 10:13America were both in the u.s. how modern heathens practice in
- 10:19in the u.s. is probably a lot different than heathens in
- 10:23modern times practice abroad and elsewhere.
- 10:25And so it's always great to I think share knowledge with each
- 10:30other and, you know, maybe light some fires, in our minds and get
- 10:33things, you know, exploring things that We maybe had thought
- 10:38about before, so appreciate the, you know, willingness to get on
- 10:41here and just ramble on a bit about those things.
- 10:43That's pretty cool. But before we get into all that
- 10:47fun stuff, you know, I mentioned before you came on here that you
- 10:53are not just part of this organization, North American
- 10:58Nordic Society, but you are a official or a title carrying
- 11:04member. So I didn't want to like, speak
- 11:06out of turn and or say anything that you know was inaccurate.
- 11:09So if you would care to, you know, kind of just introduce
- 11:13yourself who you are and then what?
- 11:15Nan's is an about jazz kind of let everybody that's listening
- 11:19and watching it a little bit in on you guys.
- 11:22Sure. So, my name is Liam, I am the
- 11:28CEO and the founder of the northern American Nordic
- 11:31Society. I am also, what is called a
- 11:35othon Goethe, which is the fifth highest level of the go p--
- 11:39priesthood specific to our organization, are our main Bolin
- 11:46Nan's is to educate people about the faith, about the
- 11:50spirituality, about the history of our ancestors in.
- 11:53The people not just from Scandinavia and the Norse tribes
- 11:58but also from Germania and the ruse tribes as well going into
- 12:03when they made contact with the Celtic tribes and going into
- 12:08Britannia and those errors as well.
- 12:10But pre Viking to Viking era is kind of where our focus is on
- 12:15the Side of things. And we offer a safe place for
- 12:19new pagans who are new to our faith to have a safe environment
- 12:24to learn to not feel uncomfortable or be chastised
- 12:27for not, knowing to be able to express their thoughts and their
- 12:31opinions and ask questions without being made to feel like
- 12:34they're inadequate or uneducated or lesser because they don't
- 12:38know as much or they're not as far along wash.
- 12:41So we have classrooms that we teach people right now.
- 12:44Everything is Pletely online. We step completely away from
- 12:47face book except for our page. So we have our own server now,
- 12:52which is our counter built in-house social media from
- 12:56Discord and then we have our main webpage, which is Northern
- 12:59American Nordic Society.com. You can go on there and see all
- 13:04our information, learn how to become a member of through there
- 13:06and see the good stuff that we benefit fair, that we provide
- 13:10benefits. People of our community, and
- 13:12people outside of our community as well.
- 13:14One of the big things for Going to do with man's is do a lot of
- 13:19charity work and Outreach for not just Norse pagan people.
- 13:22But for All Peoples, Peoples, who really need.
- 13:26They need help financial help, they need food, they need
- 13:28support, they need someone to turn to that, is there to
- 13:31provide some safety and someone to give them spiritual
- 13:35counseling and guidance. Just so they know that they're
- 13:37okay. And everything will be okay,
- 13:39that's what Nan's is. Therefore, so that's one of the
- 13:41things we do. That's, that's a lot of, that's,
- 13:45I mean, that covers a lot of ground, I think, especially, you
- 13:49know, considering how much the I think you know, paganism in
- 13:56general as an umbrella term? I don't see stuff like this
- 14:01going on. Like, what you're describing
- 14:02there, there are some right there are some like,
- 14:04organizations and groups that are very much interested in
- 14:09serving the community, right? Not just the Pagan Community but
- 14:13you know, the community that they live.
- 14:14And in doing that, those sorts of those things that you
- 14:17mentioned, like, Outreach for the less fortunate or people
- 14:20that meet, you know, clothing financial aid, you know,
- 14:24spiritual backing, you know, anything like that with, with
- 14:27Focus being on the community. So I know that now.
- 14:32Are you, are you guys like in a like we say, you know, the
- 14:37northern American Nordic Society like you guys are legit.
- 14:41Yes, org, right? I mean, you, you really are a
- 14:43legit organization. We have, we have all our
- 14:47paperwork in from the state of California, right now.
- 14:50It's, we're waiting for a 1023 easy form to be turned in.
- 14:55We have 40 years after after we filed, our paperwork to be a
- 15:00religious organization. So a charge.
- 15:03So to speak. We actually like tax-exempt
- 15:08status and things of that, it gets us.
- 15:11Civic tax-exempt, man. It's a little bit different than
- 15:135031. See, it's more specific to
- 15:18legit, applying the religion, in the federal level recognizing us
- 15:22as this is a standalone religion.
- 15:24This is, this is what it is. It gives us that tax exemption.
- 15:28So we can collect funds and provide the things in the
- 15:32services that we're trying to provide and that we're working
- 15:34towards providing and we set out 2017 is when I created it used
- 15:40to To be called the northern American Astro, Heathen, or
- 15:46Asatru at Astra heating Community is what it used to be
- 15:49called. And then we change the names
- 15:50after we rebranded because we weren't getting very much
- 15:54traction with the old name because it was 22, encompassing
- 15:57of different ideas. So we rebranded and since then,
- 16:00everything's been been going great.
- 16:02And, you know, we just launched our webpage about three and a
- 16:06half months ago, we've got tons of new memberships coming in.
- 16:09We're always looking for more Come in anyone who even if you
- 16:13don't want to become a full member, you're more than welcome
- 16:15to come and learn. You're more than welcome to come
- 16:17and participate. Help out in any way that you
- 16:19can. The whole idea is to get our
- 16:22faith specifically Norse paganism in a better light in
- 16:28the community and the world. We're tired of people
- 16:31associating. Heathen re in general, as kind
- 16:34of that racist skewed, motivated type religion, because that's
- 16:37not what it's about, is the all-father, not the some father
- 16:41And we're trying to protect people who believe in our faith
- 16:46from people getting the wrong, idea about what we believe are
- 16:50symbols the names of certain things in our religion, such as
- 16:54a Goethe things like that. We're trying to protect this
- 16:57thing. So we have or actively working
- 17:00on, you know, getting certain certain terminologies copy
- 17:05written so that they can be protected for all the
- 17:07organizations out there that are non racist so we can Make the
- 17:12appropriate moves to keep the racially motivated people out of
- 17:20the face, out of our religion and claiming our relatives for
- 17:24racially motivated hate crimes and things like that.
- 17:27Yeah. Now and I think you know like
- 17:30when with with with people that are letter fresh to this belief
- 17:34system that you know it because there's so much to it, you know?
- 17:38And it's kind of you can't just say almond you know what?
- 17:41Well, I think you probably can you can you can get some people
- 17:43that come into this. I'm new to this path.
- 17:45Okay. Well, what path are you talking
- 17:47about, right? Are you looking at a more, you
- 17:50know, Germanic Pagan where it's, you know, you are you more of a
- 17:54historical approach, you know, are you looking at reliving or
- 18:01reconstructing, the the cultural differences of a certain region,
- 18:05you know, because there's there's so much, you know, the
- 18:07swedes did it differently than the icelanders, which who did
- 18:10it? Within the Danes may be slightly
- 18:12different from the Norwegians and then on and on and on down
- 18:16history. So it's kind of like and we're
- 18:18in North America, you know what I mean?
- 18:20And I think that there's a lot to be said about building and
- 18:24preserving our own Traditions based on where we are.
- 18:26Right. So you know you guys are in the
- 18:28Pacific Northwest if I'm not mistaken and California.
- 18:33Yeah and how you guys up there up in that part of the country?
- 18:37Observe and do things are probably going to be regionally
- 18:41Different because of, you know, those types of things are going
- 18:45to be regionally different, your Customs or Traditions are going
- 18:48to be that different than some than some folks that may be out
- 18:50in Texas or on the the east coast and the Appalachia
- 18:54mountain ranges and us here in Tennessee and all that.
- 18:57But so like with what you guys are aiming to do and what you've
- 19:01been doing, how do you see how your organization can cater to
- 19:08the folks? Because I'm assuming that your
- 19:10membership, right? Is not.
- 19:11Is it strictly based on the region?
- 19:13Like is it just for folks in the Northwest Pacific area of the
- 19:18country? Or is it kind of open to other
- 19:20are open our? Our organization is open to
- 19:24everyone in the Americas so that includes self America concludes
- 19:29Mexico and includes the United States of America.
- 19:32Canada, Alaska, we have members from the UK we have members from
- 19:38Iceland from Sweden, Norway, Germany even a few from Spain
- 19:43actually within our organization.
- 19:46And, you know, we're trying to, we're trying to approach the
- 19:51animistic views of the old world religion, trying to reconstruct
- 19:55it to a certain point with the knowledge that we have based on
- 19:58how the people lived their lives and why they would have made
- 20:02those assumptions to the religion.
- 20:05We're trying to reconstruct it as close as possible, but also
- 20:08keeping an open mind to there is going.
- 20:11To be an element of personal Spiritual Development in
- 20:14personal spiritual connection, to the gods into the religion.
- 20:17So it's finding that that fine balance between the lines and
- 20:23just kind of guiding people along along that path that feels
- 20:29right for them for the most part and giving them the knowledge of
- 20:32the history and letting them make their own mind up for
- 20:35themselves is the best the best way.
- 20:36And I mean, the absolute best way you're going to come to any
- 20:39conclusion about any of this. It is built a relationship with
- 20:42the gods yourself. Have someone guide you to the
- 20:45information so you can learn about them and help you learn
- 20:47about them. But when you really get down to
- 20:50the dirty, nitty-gritty in the brass behind it, it's building
- 20:54that relationship of the Gods. It's building that relationship
- 20:56with your ancestors and building that relationship with the
- 20:59spirits of the world and all the nine worlds that live within it.
- 21:02And that's how you're going to really determine what's right
- 21:06for you and what's not right for you.
- 21:07I'm not here to tell you you're wrong, or you're right?
- 21:10I'm Our to go, you're on the right path for you.
- 21:14That's the whole point of being a Goethe is as much as I am
- 21:18teaching other people. I am also learning as much as I
- 21:21am teaching them. I'm learning from them, right,
- 21:26that's a huge thing, you know, with with so many newcomers and
- 21:31I think I every time I turn around, I'm, you know, seeing
- 21:34questions from people I'm, you know, I'm new to this path.
- 21:36Where do I start? You know, and that's like, man,
- 21:39you know how much Time. Do you have?
- 21:41Because that's the question that you can't really just like
- 21:43summarized into a brief. I mean you can but it's like
- 21:47there's so much left open to follow up on with more questions
- 21:51about okay you know this this really not one path here that
- 21:54we're all on we're all right on our own paths that that some of
- 21:58us have found commonalities with other people and so we're
- 22:01building those those tribal Traditions or those communities
- 22:07you know very and on a very small scale.
- 22:09Yes. And that is is where like I see
- 22:15the future of heathen re paganism.
- 22:18Specifically, we call Norse paganism or my I feel that this
- 22:21specific branch of paganism Heathen or your right is the
- 22:26future of it. Resides in our ability to learn
- 22:29to bring it back to the to the Grassroots and and not be so
- 22:34focused on. Well, what organization, my part
- 22:39of who do I pay dues to, you know, Who's my quote, unquote
- 22:42Regional Goethe this or that. Like there's a place for it and
- 22:45I feel that there's an important place for it.
- 22:47Especially now in today's society where everything is.
- 22:49So like we have such a broad reach.
- 22:51Yeah. Because of, you know, Discord
- 22:53servers and social media, and all these sorts of things that
- 22:56there's there's a tremendous opportunity there for us to
- 23:00influence and and become part of something.
- 23:03And that's what people are looking for.
- 23:04But not to take that too, so much to the extent that we lose
- 23:08sight of, where he even really thrive.
- 23:11Is at the community level and doing and being part of
- 23:15something like that that that that brings up a fantastic
- 23:20point. So I just want to touch base on
- 23:24a scenario that is just that. So even even Nance North
- 23:29American Nordic Society. We started out with about the
- 23:32spiritualism doing doing live, blots and building that sense of
- 23:36community and then we had this idea of hey we could do more
- 23:40with this. We could Actually help people
- 23:42with this and give them a place to feel safe.
- 23:45And not just people that we deem worthy.
- 23:47But people all over the world people of all, all over
- 23:51different ethnicities, different spiritual backgrounds, different
- 23:55mindsets, and cultures can come to Nan's and still feel safe to
- 23:58learn here. So, when we set out to build
- 24:02what we've built now, even even with us being a spiritual, as we
- 24:09are, we we can His track very, very easy and become to singular
- 24:16minded as far as the business side goes and trying to focus.
- 24:19So much on the business that were you're losing sight on the
- 24:21spirituality and I'll tell you firsthand as as a spiritual
- 24:25advisor and someone who's also running a legit business, which
- 24:30is what a church technically is we have to run it that way, but
- 24:34it does draw and Wayne on your spiritual on your spiritual
- 24:38path, in your spiritual side. So it's a matter of trying to
- 24:41keep the balance and there and constantly reminding yourself
- 24:44every day. Am I doing this?
- 24:45Because I'm trying to get to make money, or am I doing this?
- 24:48So I can help people my doing this, to be a spiritual advisor,
- 24:51my doing this, because I'm being called to do it.
- 24:53So I wake up every day and I have to remind myself.
- 24:56Hey, I'm focusing way too much right now.
- 24:58On the business side of it. I need to get back into the
- 25:01teaching. I need to get back into advising
- 25:04people spiritually and helping them along their Journey.
- 25:06Guided meditations guiding them to the answers that they're
- 25:09looking for, from the gods. So it that right there people
- 25:14with that very, this is my organization, this is their
- 25:18organization, they can't come in, they can't be a part of
- 25:20that. It it's that type of mentality
- 25:23that thought process from being too much organized which leads
- 25:28you astray from what you set out to do.
- 25:30And that's one of the things that man's wants to rectify.
- 25:33Within that Norse Pagan Community is bring everyone
- 25:36together. There is if you want to call
- 25:38yourself the Vulcan forth, Kindred or you want to call
- 25:42yourself the dark bore Kindred, or Nan's or whatever you want to
- 25:45call yourself. It's just a name.
- 25:47We're all brothers and sisters. We are all children of the Gods,
- 25:51we're all here trying to do the same thing.
- 25:53So why not think about ways that we can work together and find
- 25:58those commonalities? And those things that were
- 26:00interested in that are alike rather than separating
- 26:03ourselves? Do you think that a lot of the
- 26:07problems in this is like an open question, but I like to get
- 26:10other Insights on it. But do you think that a lot of
- 26:12the problems that we face or that we see with you know folks
- 26:19coming into paganism thinking that it has to be a certain way
- 26:23or guide me on this this like they look at it as like as this
- 26:26as a singular path rather than a tree with many branches and a
- 26:30road that has many Forks in it and stuff like that.
- 26:32Do you think that it has to do with the the domineering or the
- 26:37dominating Global Christian? World view on things that that
- 26:42has, that is to say like infected the mindset.
- 26:46But I mean, quite literally, when I came into paganism, when
- 26:48I became what I am today and and growing To Each Day become,
- 26:53like, I had to change my entire perspective and world view on
- 26:56things because of the Christian influences of, you know,
- 27:01sacredness and and a deity and spirituality and deeds eunos in
- 27:09there. And then all this other kind of
- 27:10If which has place in heat and we believe, or not like a lot of
- 27:13these terms all these things, it just, it just means a different
- 27:16thing and it has different implications.
- 27:17So, do you think that That that's a like that that people
- 27:22are struggling with that when they're, when they're coming
- 27:24into this thinking though, it's got to be a certain way, it's
- 27:26got to be that because of the excess like baggage that they
- 27:30may have think. I think it's definitely a big
- 27:34influence on their perception of the religion and what they're
- 27:38expecting going into it. And I think that also has to do
- 27:42a lot with. Also, the perception of the
- 27:45people who are the leaders in the organization, is that these
- 27:49people are coming to I have so many people in Nan's who have
- 27:54come from different spiritual backgrounds.
- 27:56I have people who've come from Wicca.
- 27:58I've had people who've come from Hellenic.
- 28:00I have people who believe it or not, come from Catholicism,
- 28:03they've come from Christianity. And a couple of them have come
- 28:07from, being Jehovah's, Witnesses, and Mormon and stuff
- 28:09like that. And when they first arrived in
- 28:12there, they're expecting it to be kind of how Hollywood
- 28:16perceives in personifies. Our religion.
- 28:19As this, It's very yeah, I hate that.
- 28:24I hate the term, bro. So true.
- 28:25The broasted truth cult, you know, Hollywood has
- 28:28unfortunately tainted. We're all Vikings in this.
- 28:32Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:34So I think it has a lot to do with both.
- 28:36We have to understand is spiritual advisors in our
- 28:40communities, and Elders, within our communities, and Chieftains
- 28:42within the communities that the new generations coming in, and
- 28:46it's our responsibility to assure them in.
- 28:51To make them feel comfortable and know that it's okay to have
- 28:54certain thought processes in certain ideas, floating around
- 28:58in their head because they've been indoctrinated into those
- 29:00from the religion that they were in before or even indoctrinated
- 29:03from society. I mean, look at the world today,
- 29:06Christianity has been around for 2,000 21 years as legitimately
- 29:13how long Christianity has been around.
- 29:14And in that time 90% of our Pagan religions have been
- 29:20Completely lost like 90% of everything.
- 29:23We know about the Pagan world has been completely lost other
- 29:27than stuff that they have recently, within the last
- 29:29hundred years, dug up and reconstructed, 90% of the actual
- 29:33meat of the faith. In our religion, and
- 29:38pre-christian Mesoamerican, religions, all those things have
- 29:42been lost and buried up with the modern Concepts in the modern
- 29:46Norms of how societies are supposed to think, and how
- 29:48they're supposed to believe in the types of Legends of this
- 29:51possible even. So it's it is a systemic issue.
- 29:55Branching from I don't like to necessarily bash Christians
- 30:00because I don't care what they believe.
- 30:02I care what I believe and they're free to believe what
- 30:05they want. To just don't chastise me for my
- 30:07beliefs. So it does.
- 30:09Yeah, I think it is a relevant factor in in new pagans finding
- 30:16any any Pagan faith. You know, you bring up an
- 30:20interesting thing, talking about just the influence that, you
- 30:23know, we say Christianity and whatnot has had on the world,
- 30:26right? Not just in North America or in
- 30:30the US but just all over the world that the broad reach that
- 30:33that it has had. And I love to see you know
- 30:37people nowadays and I recently saw something like this happened
- 30:40a couple of weeks ago with one of the officials that represent
- 30:46the truth. You know, it was a pagan and a
- 30:50pastor sitting in the church building and somewhere I think
- 30:53was in Wisconsin or Minnesota or something, and they sat there
- 30:57and they talk about things that, you know, the pastor's view on
- 31:00things and it was, you know, in front of an audience, a live
- 31:03audience, but it was streamed live for the world to see and it
- 31:06was such a wholesome conversation.
- 31:08There was no hate towards each other.
- 31:11There was actual dialogue between them to about certain
- 31:16approach on things and how, you know, Because let's face it,
- 31:19right? Christianity and its reach and
- 31:24it's not a it's not like every Christian is bad, right there.
- 31:28Have been some really crappy people over the overtime and a
- 31:31lot of them have been Christians, but there's also
- 31:32been some really terrible people that do things in the name of of
- 31:36our of our pagan gods, and trying to defame, and, and
- 31:41disgrace those sacred figures as well.
- 31:45So, it touches on so many different levels.
- 31:47So to say that, you know, You're bad, just because of the
- 31:50religion, you follow is so misguided.
- 31:54I think, you know, before just shitty people because of them
- 31:57being shady people write in and using their religion to fuel,
- 32:01their hate is Justin, you know, another Thing to weed through it
- 32:06and it's an unfortunate reality. It's, it's a, it's a sad sad
- 32:10thing in a state of affairs. When people the world Focus so
- 32:14much on the differences of their religions, that that's their
- 32:16only thing they have to dislike is I just like you, because
- 32:22you're not Christian, you're going to burn in hell because my
- 32:24religion tells me this or I didn't like you because you're
- 32:27Christian and you persecuted my ancestors and you're a bad
- 32:30person because like, they the ones that did it, you know, like
- 32:33it was them that we're out there, you know.
- 32:35Pagans down and crucifying them are doing it a lot.
- 32:37Like, did really like to tell you the truth, I my Christian
- 32:42friends and my Mormon friends, because I am friends with
- 32:45Christians. I am friends with Mormons.
- 32:46I'm friends with Protestants and Jehovah's Witnesses.
- 32:50And a few Muslim people, I love my abrahamic faith, brothers and
- 32:55sisters, regardless of their differences of worldview.
- 32:59As far as religion goes because they see who I am as a person.
- 33:05Person. They see the honor and integrity
- 33:07in the truth. How I live my life and the
- 33:09words, and the actions that I speak and lived and they're able
- 33:13to look past the fact that I'm Pagan and their idea of what
- 33:16they were taught about what Pagan is or what Norse Pagan is.
- 33:19And they actually see me as a man and that's how I see them.
- 33:23I see them as a man or a woman, not, but not based off their
- 33:26religion, I viewed in way them by their actions, by their
- 33:30deeds, by them. Holding troops that are honoring
- 33:33their words. And that's that's I think Nan's
- 33:36tries to teach its new members is it's really important to
- 33:40walk. The walk that you're claiming
- 33:42you're walking and not just talk it but actually live that life.
- 33:47There is no shame in being a outspoken, Norsemen who's proud
- 33:55of you to religion and also accepting someone else for their
- 33:58religion. There's no shame in that.
- 34:01Yeah, because that's what we want, right?
- 34:02We want to be, we want To. We first of all, we just want to
- 34:06do what we do and not get bothered for it.
- 34:08You're right. I mean nobody wants that and I
- 34:10don't think any buddy who practices any religion, you talk
- 34:14about doing it and walking the walk.
- 34:16I mean, I've heard, you know, he's Andre and paganism.
- 34:20It's a living religion. Well, I can test that really any
- 34:22religion, any anything that you want to devote your life to, to
- 34:26that extent, you should be living regardless of what right?
- 34:29It's called. Right regardless of what label
- 34:31it has put to it, you should be living it and that's if that's
- 34:34what you claim to be. Right?
- 34:35If you're a Christian and live like one, if you're a pagan, you
- 34:38know, live like one, if you're a Buddhist, it was, you know, so
- 34:41live. It be it.
- 34:42Do it. And let your Deeds.
- 34:45Be the thing that your worth is measured by because that's
- 34:48ultimately, you know, you're only, you're only worth as much
- 34:51as the value. That's placed upon you by your,
- 34:54by your people. You know, you're not anything
- 34:58without them, right? And we're not anything without
- 35:00the without our people and without our, you know, people in
- 35:03our community. So So exactly.
- 35:06I think what? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cut
- 35:09you off. No, no.
- 35:10Go ahead. What if I was to tell you a
- 35:14simple way to scientifically some up, every religion being
- 35:17accurate to the individual is experiencing the religion.
- 35:22What if you were to tell me that, I'd say come over.
- 35:26So we have a, we have a chemical in our brain, which is known as
- 35:30DMT that's produced by the pineal gland, the pineal gland
- 35:34agent. Even the Egyptians ancient
- 35:36Sumerians knew about the pile and they had, they had very
- 35:40accurate mapping of the brain in pictures of the pile uncle and
- 35:43and had full on fables written about the knowledge plant,
- 35:49right? So there's this chemical in the
- 35:52brain called the Mt that gets released into the blood.
- 35:57It's scientifically proven now as of 2020 amid 2020, doctors,
- 36:04finally. Bird large large amounts of DMT
- 36:07and people's optic nerve system, right?
- 36:10So this this is responsible for how we perceive the world around
- 36:14us. This chemical.
- 36:15That's naturally produced in the brain is solely responsible for
- 36:19how we perceive things visually, right?
- 36:22So when you have a dream and you're having a very Vivid dream
- 36:26that you can remember, it's because large amounts of DMT are
- 36:28getting dumped into your brain. It's the same thing.
- 36:31When we have a personal spiritual experience when we Are
- 36:35meditating or we are going on a walk spiritual journey, earn
- 36:40adjournment and we are experiencing Communications with
- 36:43Spirits, the 80s ancestors, interdimensional beings,
- 36:48whatever, whatever have you they are not false because someone
- 36:54else isn't having the same experience, they are 100%
- 36:57accurate and true because you are having that experience.
- 37:03So, every Religion out there at some point because of the
- 37:09personal experience that they're having you here of Christians
- 37:12and Catholics having these encounters with angels coming,
- 37:15right? That is their brains way of
- 37:18perceiving Spiritual Beings. Have been encountering through
- 37:21the amount of DMT being dumped into their brain at the time.
- 37:24So is that make it false? Because you're not seeing it.
- 37:27No, it's just as valid as my religion and my experience is in
- 37:32me seeing when I do a block 20, In Odin showing up with a group
- 37:36of 25 people and everyone experiencing that together and
- 37:41it's just as valid as that. I feel like I feel like Joe
- 37:46Rogan's going to kick in the door or whatever and he s not
- 37:48talking about DMT because now we're getting into some, some
- 37:52really interesting points of the way are the way we operate the
- 37:58way art the way this meat machine functions.
- 38:01Yeah, things that the things that, you know, you look at, you
- 38:06know, you talked about like scientific evidence and and
- 38:08medicinal benefits and stuff to things like psilocybin and and,
- 38:13and how That is literally like, we've got, you know, medical
- 38:18doctors, who advocate for the safe administration of these
- 38:24types of things to like, reset your body's and change your
- 38:29perception of things, to the point for your health, right?
- 38:32It's like the most, it's the most holistic and beneficial
- 38:34antidepressant known to man and yet millions and millions of
- 38:39people are out here suffering unnecessarily because of stupid.
- 38:42You know? Nations that that prohibit it's
- 38:45for use and administration. So, you know, 100%, I do I have
- 38:50I can't gain say really anything with what little I know about
- 38:53the things that you're talking but just what some of what I do
- 38:55know. I'm like, yeah, that makes
- 38:57perfect sense. You know, not to not to say that
- 39:00the let's all go out here and do shrooms.
- 39:02But hey, let's all go down here into shrooms where I helping you
- 39:07know, where I think it gets misconstrued and it becomes a
- 39:12negative thing. With that personal spiritual
- 39:15experience is when the person allows too much of their
- 39:20internal ego. That part of themselves that
- 39:24says, I'm right. And I know I'm right, or I want
- 39:26to see this. So I'm going to project that
- 39:28into my meditation. I'm going to subconsciously
- 39:31project that into my experience, we have to be careful when we're
- 39:36experiencing these things and helping other people experience
- 39:39them. Because that's one of the things
- 39:40I do is I lead people through shamanic death during Ernie's, I
- 39:44lead them through say, hi seat and Mound sitting to communicate
- 39:49with their ancestors. Who decides the gods.
- 39:51Yeah, very nice and very cool. I don't hear.
- 39:55A lot of people talk about that. That's good to hear.
- 39:58You have to be very careful with preparing them.
- 40:02It usually takes about six months to a year of me, leading
- 40:06them forgetting meditations so that they're ready at that
- 40:09point. That their ego is not in control
- 40:12of their thought. This isn't their subconscious
- 40:14when they're in a meditative state so that the answers of the
- 40:17getting are actually from Spirit.
- 40:19They're actually from the gods and not from their higher
- 40:21Consciousness telling them. Hey, you like for instance I'm
- 40:24just going to use it as an example.
- 40:26All these people who are infatuated Marvel's low-key,
- 40:30okay, and they meditate for the first time ever because they
- 40:33become Pagan and they have this Vision where Marvel's Loki comes
- 40:36to them and tells them. No, I love you.
- 40:38You're my God. Spouse both of habla.
- 40:39Now your mind and they sleep with them in their meditation.
- 40:44No, I'm sorry. If you don't have the basic
- 40:47understanding of the practice has built up to build a banner.
- 40:50Jeez and know the difference between your ego an ancestral
- 40:53Spirit coming in or a god coming in, how are you going to tell
- 40:58anyone when you're brand new at this practice and haven't
- 41:01practiced it long enough to really make those judgment calls
- 41:04to discern the difference between the three?
- 41:06How are you going to tell somebody that that's not your
- 41:09ego feeding, you the answers that you want to hear from an
- 41:11egotistical place. Yeah, that's a really valid
- 41:16thing to bring up, you know, because the infatuation with the
- 41:20gods, especially early on, I mean, I think I don't speak for
- 41:24all, but I'll speak for myself like that was again because of
- 41:30past, you know, baggage or other worldviews.
- 41:33You know, God was the number one thing that you had to focus on
- 41:36and in Christianity, right? So coming into like a
- 41:38polytheistic religion. Believe, you know, like I found
- 41:45out where you later on not early on enough that it's not so much
- 41:49about the gods, as it is about building.
- 41:51That relationship with your ancestors and having them part
- 41:55of your life and building that Hearth cult, you know, the thing
- 41:58that's closest to you. And then over time, you know,
- 42:01the relationship with your gods and, and the spirits around you
- 42:04becomes. It's an organic growth into
- 42:06things, you know. Like, you're not just going to
- 42:08dive headfirst and, you know, sudden be chosen by Odin or your
- 42:12Of his Warriors or Wolves or any of this other mumbo-jumbo that
- 42:16just tends to run rampant. It seems in these people's minds
- 42:19and hey, why is that? It's because again, because of
- 42:22the influences that are around us all all over, you know,
- 42:26Hollywood and past experiences from other religion.
- 42:30I'm really, I'm really not trying to be a gatekeeper in
- 42:34that aspect either. I mean there's a there's a
- 42:37certain level of, you know, having to stop people and go
- 42:40look. I have to hit you with a Reality
- 42:43a reality qualms in your brain and get you to reset a little
- 42:47bit and take a step back but there's also a level of okay,
- 42:50now how can we guide you to the right answers and guide you to
- 42:54learn these techniques so that you're doing it properly and not
- 42:57being tricked by your own ego. So there there's a level that
- 43:01kind of comes off sometimes is gatekeeping or I'm just trying
- 43:04to tell you what to do and it's more.
- 43:08So out of I am legitimately concerned about Individual who's
- 43:13practicing these things? When they don't have the first
- 43:16clue of what they're practicing because, you know, as somebody
- 43:19who practices that Vicky, right? You practice some save magic,
- 43:22right? I have dabbled a bit into that,
- 43:25you know, okay. More recently than anything is
- 43:27because of some personal events and goings on in my life.
- 43:31So right when we hear in divination.
- 43:33But yeah, when you're naive and ignorant to the truth behind it
- 43:37and you read something out of a book and think, oh, I read it.
- 43:40Once I think I got it and I can do it.
- 43:42You know how Oh dangerous, that can be towards your soul.
- 43:44You know how dangerous that can be to your spirit into your
- 43:47psyche? Our God, the people have this
- 43:50misconception about our God's being these love and light Gods.
- 43:53Because in this whole meal neo-pagan movement, I hate to
- 43:56break it to you. People know, they are not loving
- 43:58light. They are the gods of War.
- 44:00Yes, they do. Have aspects of other things
- 44:03that can make them compassionate, but they are A
- 44:10very dark energy. They are from a darker place in
- 44:12Darker realm Sade, work is known as Shadow work.
- 44:17Like, literally the work you do as someone who practices Sade
- 44:20High seat and say your ship and who strives to do that.
- 44:24It is very dark self-reflective, diving deep within the Cesspool,
- 44:29in the pits of the Void, within yourself to build an
- 44:33understanding for yourself. And that's not a light.
- 44:36Happy place, it's a heavy dark place.
- 44:40It's very retrospective. I think the you know so much of
- 44:43the darkness is revealing right? And expose like you're exposed.
- 44:49Yeah, it's a very like exposing open like again, not like light
- 44:54internet sense of like everything is visible, but it's
- 44:56very revealing. That's the best allowing us.
- 44:58The first thing that comes to mind, when I say it's
- 45:00describing, it's like you know, the Dark shows you a lot and
- 45:06it's it's again, it's hard to for me at least.
- 45:10Said like sit there and describe.
- 45:12I'm not good at that sort of thing.
- 45:13I'm not like I experienced my own things and I keep it close
- 45:17to my heart. So you got folks, like, you and
- 45:19my Goethe Dango. We all know, right, we've
- 45:24chatted and stuff and he's been a huge help for me because he
- 45:27has those years of experience. And he has all that and he's
- 45:31kind of like my go-to guy with stuff like this, and he's helped
- 45:35me tremendously a lot, you know, kind of shift my Approach, and
- 45:39I'm not quite there yet. Yet, you know, like, I talked to
- 45:41him about an experience that I had not too long ago, and I've,
- 45:45you know, shared it with certain people where I was like, I had
- 45:50the intent or the idea. I was trying to reach a certain
- 45:54place in my trance work, right. I didn't quite, I didn't feel
- 45:58like I got there and that think talking with you right now.
- 46:01Like it makes me think like the ego was was Blocking that
- 46:07ability to get there but I got close.
- 46:09I got up. I got close to a certain point
- 46:11like, you know, how you're, you know, navigating through a maze
- 46:14and you keep hitting those dead ends.
- 46:15Well you made it halfway through her.
- 46:17You made it. Three quarters of the way
- 46:18through. You just didn't quite get to the
- 46:19other side and it's kind of how it felt for me, you know, like I
- 46:22made it to a certain point that it just didn't get there yet and
- 46:26I'm given time and practice. And that's the thing about it.
- 46:29It's literally a practice you're not going to get it on the first
- 46:32time you're not going to, you know, just all of a To put it
- 46:36in, put it in there for perspective, something that
- 46:41other people who are familiar with certain spiritual Concepts
- 46:45from other, faiths Native American, Shamanism, true true,
- 46:48Shamanism their medicine. People start practicing and
- 46:54start learning and start their practice from a very young age
- 46:57like five, six years old. They're chosen by the town
- 47:00medicine man or woman and they live with them for years and
- 47:03they don't become a shaman in Until they're in their 70s or
- 47:0680s, they don't fully reach that level of shamanism until their
- 47:11wives within their age and have that experience of practice
- 47:14every day helping people helping themselves helping their family
- 47:17helping people outside of their family on spiritual adjournments
- 47:21and things like that. So we have a common problem
- 47:26within especially the Norse Pagan Community, where people
- 47:28come from, an Eclectic, type background, or Wicca.
- 47:32And they think, oh, because I practice witchcraft.
- 47:35Any form now that I'm northagen, I'm all of a sudden Ebola or I'm
- 47:38all of a sudden the Vicky or I'm all of a sudden the Sade.
- 47:40I'm a great Seer if you haven't been practicing this specific
- 47:44brand of magic for 35 to 40 years.
- 47:47Plus, I hate to break it to. You are not anywhere near the
- 47:51level to call yourself a viola or a Vicky or assayed.
- 47:55Reason being is because you haven't put in the time and the
- 47:58effort to gain the wisdom and the knowledge, and the practice,
- 48:02and the discipline in that art form.
- 48:05To have somebody else. It wasn't something that you
- 48:08would call yourself. I would never in a million
- 48:10years, call myself. Yep.
- 48:11I'm on a high seat said, I would never call myself that.
- 48:14Why? Because I don't ever feel
- 48:16worried about other people. They call me that because I help
- 48:19guide them through things. But even then, I stopped the
- 48:21most of times. They know, I've only been doing
- 48:23this for the last 15 years. I've only been practicing saved
- 48:27for the last 15 years. Don't call me, don't call me an
- 48:31or Shaman because I'm not I'm not going to be there until I'm
- 48:34in my 80s and all Got friends. Yeah, but that's a good point
- 48:38because like, that's the name, that's the thing that is given
- 48:40to you. And that's I think another
- 48:42important thing that you don't give these titles to yourself.
- 48:45You don't decide one day. I woke up because I had this
- 48:47dream or because I had this experience or because of
- 48:49whatever that all of a sudden, this is what I am.
- 48:51These are these are honorifics or these are things that your
- 48:54people, your tribe give to you for the reasons that you have
- 48:59proven your worth in that way. So, regardless of the years,
- 49:03regardless the time and I fully agree, I mean like it, These
- 49:05types of things just don't happen overnight and it takes a
- 49:07lifetime to be that thing. Truly, but for in the interim,
- 49:13and during that process as we approach that, you know, Elder
- 49:17State, you know, the people around us that that see those
- 49:20things or that see those traits that want to, you know, let's do
- 49:25that title on on individuals, right?
- 49:28I mean, well guide and be well versed to know what it is that
- 49:31you're implying but that's really You do the thing and you
- 49:36become known for that. And that's what, that's what
- 49:38it's about, right? The day I the day, I call myself
- 49:45and legitimately call myself from a place of ego from a place
- 49:48of the I've earned it a master save.
- 49:52I want you to slap me. I'll just be like, hold on.
- 49:56Let me get into a taxi, we're going over right?
- 49:58Let me get on a plane and we fly over there to your location.
- 50:02Let me get into another who really knock on your door, we
- 50:04doing? You know, you told me and then
- 50:08just like that guy, that was my weekend, you know?
- 50:11No, but um so I don't want to get like we've gotten off onto
- 50:15some really cool discussion. And then this this is like one
- 50:18of those things that we could like make a long drawn-out thing
- 50:21about and probably not even scratch the surface a lot of
- 50:24good stuff but I did want to take some time and in use this
- 50:28opportunity that I have you here to really talk about something
- 50:31that we chatted a little bit about before we brought you On
- 50:35the podcast today and that was this whole concept and notion of
- 50:42tear and his position in amongst the aesir gods and his role as
- 50:47the you know the chief God. And how Odin overtime kind of
- 50:52was the replacement or took that Chief role.
- 50:57Oh right, what, what do you have to say about that?
- 51:00And where we going to go with that for the last segment of the
- 51:03podcast, okay? so the easiest way to break this
- 51:06down, is we know historically it's been historically proven
- 51:10that before the Scandinavian tribes from you know, Norway
- 51:14Iceland more of the northern Germanic regions of the Germanic
- 51:18tribes, or Germania started worshipping vote on and later on
- 51:24turned him into older than the all-father they worshipped As A
- 51:28God Called trig or feel right here or treg was The original
- 51:35Chieftain, God of all the Germanic tribes and you see this
- 51:40historically when you when you go and do archaeological
- 51:43discoveries and you see what's been dug up, you see reference
- 51:46to this God named trig or Kia Forte was.
- 51:51Yes you see him referenced as their Chieftain?
- 51:53God specifically in 98 ad there was a Roman Empire or Emperor
- 52:01who was a pagan? It was a romantic.
- 52:04Roman Hellenic Pagan who traveled the world and went to
- 52:10many different civilizations and recorded.
- 52:13What he learned from. The natives of those different
- 52:16lands that he traveled to, he wrote about 15 different books
- 52:19that were journals, documenting the religions, and the
- 52:23lifestyle, and the cultures of the other cultures and peoples
- 52:27that he came in contact with and he won't wrote one book
- 52:29specifically called the Germania The Germania talks about Prague
- 52:36or kiowas as the chief can God and he makes some some obvious
- 52:40correlations to his own religion because he's Roman and he's been
- 52:43doing the best you can compare things, but he makes some
- 52:47obvious comparisons to Mars. Their Chieftain.
- 52:50God in Rome at the time, their god of war.
- 52:53And that's, that's what Craig was.
- 52:54He was their Chief in God and God of War.
- 52:56So they made some some obvious comparisons there.
- 52:59But if you read between the lines in his His book.
- 53:02You see this very clear painted picture of the original
- 53:09Chieftain. God tier, we know from The Vedic
- 53:12texts not snore, he's version not snore, he's translation, but
- 53:16from the Codex Rejects and older documents that have been found
- 53:19in older, Graves gravesites, finds statues and things that
- 53:24tear was originally worshipped in.
- 53:26Scandinavia is the original Chief in God.
- 53:29We know that tear had a father and He was a second generation
- 53:33God from the yotan line, right? We know that bothan it was a
- 53:38younger God known as votan at the same time, that tear was a
- 53:42Chieftain. God votan was a god of knowledge
- 53:46and a god of wisdom. That was a younger deity at the
- 53:50exact same time in Germania. That tear was the chieftain God.
- 53:54So, the concept that I've come up with which I'm sure some
- 53:59people have heard, some people probably haven't is We know that
- 54:03othon became the all-father. We know that he took up that
- 54:08mantle in that title we know that all.
- 54:10Father is a title. We know that for sure that it
- 54:12sits idle. So here we have tear, who's the
- 54:17original all father. He's the one who holds that king
- 54:20of all the gods that yotan before, the aesir, before the
- 54:23mayor, the Vaughn are. And before there was
- 54:27classifications of the different ranks and classifications of
- 54:30those two different types of Gods.
- 54:32We have here. Who is the father of all the
- 54:35gods? All the Yoda, we know that Odin
- 54:37is a yotan. We know he is because his father
- 54:39and mother were getting his grandfather was one of the first
- 54:43golden beings licked up from the great bovine from the edge of
- 54:46the Brine and GAP. She was yotan.
- 54:48His grandfather and grandmother will reopen.
- 54:51What if I were to tell you that the translation of Tears, father
- 54:56from the eddas is a mistranslation based off of the
- 54:59way that the ruins are translated.
- 55:02When they're written from left to right and sneaking through
- 55:05their certain key markers Within the Ruins that they used to
- 55:08signify. Okay, this is the start of a new
- 55:10paragraph, or this is the start of a name, or this is a
- 55:12statement. There's evidence is that we've
- 55:16come up with from looking at the Codex rejects, where we found
- 55:21certain marker points, that you can barely make out the marker
- 55:24point because the Rune Stone itself has been worn away.
- 55:28And you can see, you can just see the edge of the market Point
- 55:31stating that it's A new statement rather than a complete
- 55:34statement, which brings me in my team, go these to the
- 55:39realization that here passed down his mantle of all father,
- 55:452011 after Odin sacrificed himself for knowledge and became
- 55:49the all-seer. So, the name us here, AES IR
- 55:54means Children of the all-seer. If you break that down, if you
- 55:59break it back down into Iceland, it means one of the all-seer
- 56:03Odin is the original all-seer. All-father.
- 56:08Right. The line that tier comes from,
- 56:12there's the Uhn Uhn gear, the on gear God's which for the jotuns
- 56:17in Old Germanic tongue, hung dear Vanya means, descendant of
- 56:22on gear. So tear steps down when Odin
- 56:29becomes the all-seer because his little nephew or his little
- 56:32cousin in either his nephew years cousin one of the two,
- 56:37there's still some debate on exactly which one it was,
- 56:40whether he was his nephew or his cousin, they're related.
- 56:44He's a younger is a younger related deity to him becomes the
- 56:48all-father Aftercare steps down some hands and the mantle now
- 56:52get this The children of tear and his followers from the on
- 56:58gear are pissed. Because now, you have this new
- 57:01God, whose now doesn't have the right to be the chieftain of the
- 57:04Gods stepping up and renaming the gods who live with him in
- 57:07the high amounts as the aesir. This is where you get the term.
- 57:12The aesir, and vanir War. This Is Where It Starts
- 57:15jealousy, competition irritation, why did you give up
- 57:18your mantle tear stays behind to help guide Odin because he You
- 57:24can him because he wanted to make sure he would be a just
- 57:27ruler. He felt, he was wise enough to
- 57:30step up to the mantle and he stepped down.
- 57:32So why would he be angry and leave and follow his followers?
- 57:35The volume here, he would stay in Asgard and continue on his
- 57:39work now adopted into the Asgardian family, right?
- 57:45The aesir as an Asgardian, as an affair class staying behind to
- 57:50help coach and you see this throughout the eddas even in
- 57:53snores translation, we're here gives woden All the counsel, he
- 58:00gives him counsel all the time. You see it in The Binding of
- 58:04finra where kheer advise other than against it.
- 58:08Advise, if you're going to do this, let me be the one to do
- 58:11this. Let me be the one to raise him
- 58:13and take him. So he's not a harm to you and
- 58:15doesn't freak you out. Long story short, he ends up
- 58:18getting his hand bit off, but him into your brain, trust,
- 58:21right? Yeah, they yeah, so that's it,
- 58:24that's it. It's your thing.
- 58:26I'm, I'm absorbing all this and I don't mean to cut you.
- 58:28You up. But like, that's a really
- 58:29interesting take on it because the yotan, the, the hunger Gods
- 58:34like their gods, their they're not add if they're just a
- 58:36different race of gods, you know, and they may be later on
- 58:42during the like the way the mythology evolved over time, you
- 58:45know, they became these agents of chaos seeking to destroy,
- 58:49whereas the aesir, were the figure of order, right?
- 58:52The figures of order because that's how the society was being
- 58:54built at the time was, you know, Order versus chaos, this whole
- 58:59world view of the universe is constantly.
- 59:02And, you know, entropy and all this other, all these other
- 59:05things that we know now in today in terms but that they just
- 59:08lived and experienced and then personified through there,
- 59:12through the gods and then how it evolved in times really
- 59:14interesting though, like I'm really captivated with the with
- 59:19the analysis of it all and thinking about like how these
- 59:22titles came about because I remember I don't know, I'm not a
- 59:24linguist but I also remember seeing at some point that You
- 59:28know this all father name or title may not necessarily be the
- 59:33most accurate translation of that word because it's all
- 59:35father you it's all fuzzy here in Old Norse which is not all
- 59:39father. It's it means something totally
- 59:41different but began with the influences of snorri and the
- 59:45christianization of the period and how the mythology evolved
- 59:48and trying to retain those myths.
- 59:49But also move into the new Christian religion that that
- 59:55took over Scandinavia how That kind of like fit it.
- 1:00:00Fit the the demographic that was that was at the time moving away
- 1:00:05from the old world paganism, that existed the old ways into
- 1:00:09the new Right. Exactly world.
- 1:00:13So so much of our religion has been washed over or lost.
- 1:00:20I mean, I know snorri was a bit of a historian, he like to try
- 1:00:24to keep as much historically accurate as possible, but he was
- 1:00:27also a Catholic and let's face it.
- 1:00:29He was a Christian priest. Monk, who obviously had a duty
- 1:00:35to the church to add his own influence and swaying
- 1:00:39perspective on the other people's James and you see this
- 1:00:41time and time again, with other works, that story has written
- 1:00:44where he came in contact with the Inuit people of the original
- 1:00:49indigenous people who are in Iceland before the Scandinavians
- 1:00:52got there, he took their religion and documented it and
- 1:00:56made a lot of christianisation and a lot of changes to words
- 1:01:00and meanings behind words and what they were actually
- 1:01:03practicing as far as their animistic faith and change
- 1:01:06perceptions on it. They're all snoring man.
- 1:01:12Well, people people forget that, that's Nori wrote a lot more
- 1:01:16than just the etic texts. Yeah.
- 1:01:19He, he wrote a lot whole lot of different text on different
- 1:01:24religions and different peoples and different historical things.
- 1:01:27So and that's the other thing, too.
- 1:01:30Like I see people are I'm new to this path.
- 1:01:32Where do I start? And everybody's like the eddas
- 1:01:35you know read the poetic Edda, get the prose Edda read the that
- 1:01:38unlike those are myths, man. Those are those are that's Or
- 1:01:41right. Really want to get down to the
- 1:01:44fundamentals or whatever. I mean, there's way more to
- 1:01:47learn from than just myth even in stories because it all still.
- 1:01:51They came from somewhere, right? They originated from something
- 1:01:55in an eye, it's great. Yeah, I mean, I'll take anything
- 1:01:58away from that but it's yeah, it to me.
- 1:02:00It's not it's not going to teach you how to practice or be this,
- 1:02:05you know. Like that's there is that
- 1:02:07they're great for what they are, right.
- 1:02:10But They are not for is for learning anything about this
- 1:02:14religion from a, from a practicing standpoint, from
- 1:02:16practical, I would say to any new Pagan out there is wanting
- 1:02:21to learn Norse paganism. The best places to start your
- 1:02:25journey on it. Yeah, go ahead and get get
- 1:02:28copies of the prose Edda and the poetic Edda, dr.
- 1:02:32Jackson Crawford has a really really solid translation of
- 1:02:36Vedic texts in the hall them all, as well as the whole
- 1:02:39summer. Um, that's going to give you a
- 1:02:42basic idea of the myths and get you kind of familiar with kind
- 1:02:46of the personalities of the gods, and their their trials,
- 1:02:49and their triumphs and things like that.
- 1:02:51But if you want to get dive deeper into the more spiritual
- 1:02:55aspect of it, I urge you guys to look up history.
- 1:02:59Look up the history on the North's.
- 1:03:00People, look at their clothing. Look at their art.
- 1:03:04Look at their music instruments. Look at their tools, and their
- 1:03:07weaponry, and their lifestyle, and try.
- 1:03:10I to get yourself into a place. Why would I use these tools in
- 1:03:15this way? Well, because of the region.
- 1:03:17I'm from the beliefs that I have, why was my Society in the
- 1:03:20laws in my Society, set up a certain way, because of the
- 1:03:23everyday beliefs that they had me.
- 1:03:25Look at old Norwegian law. For instance, you're allowed to
- 1:03:29kill your neighbor. If you have a beef with them but
- 1:03:32you can't pass the fourth house on the for Palace.
- 1:03:35If you go to pass it, you're going to you're going to be hung
- 1:03:37or you're going to be put to death or bloody gold or kicked
- 1:03:40out of it. Unity for murder.
- 1:03:42So there's, there's a cultural reason and that cultural reason
- 1:03:45is also spiritual reason. There you have to remember,
- 1:03:48their spirituality was ingrained in their everyday life because
- 1:03:52they were so animistic, everything, they did fishing
- 1:03:56hunting making clothes building a house, raising farm animals,
- 1:04:02everything you all of it, everything they did, they
- 1:04:04Incorporated their spiritual side to everything fishing?
- 1:04:07They would leave offerings. The bank's tenured the Freeman
- 1:04:11in the fishermen to bring the fishermen home in to allow a
- 1:04:14good harvest of fish from the sea.
- 1:04:16So they can be plentiful and feed their their family.
- 1:04:19Everything they did praying when they, when they would bend a
- 1:04:22knee and do blot ritual basic blot.
- 1:04:26It's a very spiritual experience.
- 1:04:28So if you want to get a good idea of heathen, spirituality,
- 1:04:32rather than just the faiths in the Mythos, read some history
- 1:04:35books on pre Viking age and Viking age Villages, and Look at
- 1:04:41their laws. Look at the things that we did.
- 1:04:43Look at the Feats of the people in the reasons behind why they
- 1:04:46did these things. And that'll give you a good
- 1:04:48understanding of how the spirituality fits into the
- 1:04:52day-to-day life. And a lot of people don't even
- 1:04:53realize this. If you're living honorably, if
- 1:04:56you're living with integrity and standing true to your beliefs
- 1:05:00and not doing anything that could cause harm to other people
- 1:05:04without reason and stuff like that, you're already Farther
- 1:05:08Along on that spiritual walk of being heathen.
- 1:05:11Oh yeah, I I say it a lot. You know, I have very close
- 1:05:16friends but even people who have bestowed kinship titles on and
- 1:05:19who in turn referred to me in kinship titles that they're not
- 1:05:24Pagan that I can see. Like they don't they don't
- 1:05:27believe the same thing. They don't follow the same
- 1:05:29spirituality. They have their own
- 1:05:30spirituality, but the way they live.
- 1:05:32It's like you're the most Pagan on Pagan, that I know because of
- 1:05:35the way you behave in because of the way you act, it's like it
- 1:05:38doesn't those those Don't just mean the, oh, that's a pagan,
- 1:05:42but that's a pagan way of life. Like it may be the way those
- 1:05:45pagans at the time lived and conducted themselves, but
- 1:05:48doesn't mean that it's inherently Pagan, you know, and
- 1:05:51so much of what we can learn. Like you say that, you know,
- 1:05:53historical. A lot of people, forget how many
- 1:05:56sagas there are that, you know, you look at some of those things
- 1:05:59that aren't part of like the Codex Regis or the for The Vedic
- 1:06:02texts and read some of my songs. Yeah, the book of the icelanders
- 1:06:07prime example, that's And different personal private
- 1:06:12journals from people from the Viking age.
- 1:06:14And yeah, before the Viking age writing down their personal
- 1:06:19experience in their day-to-day stuff.
- 1:06:20It's some of its stupid stuff. Like I went outside, it was
- 1:06:24cold. I went back inside and made tea
- 1:06:26and some of us just like that, family sagas are great, you
- 1:06:30know. Yeah.
- 1:06:31Other things in it are detailed about their spiritual practice.
- 1:06:34Oh, the moon was out. So I praised money and I left
- 1:06:37offerings. And I left this by the seashore
- 1:06:39and stacked rocks. You know, and that's so much
- 1:06:44that we lost to overtime. Just those, you know, family
- 1:06:47practices those cultic practices that were kind of bound and
- 1:06:51reserved to the close family unit.
- 1:06:55We, you know, I talked to people nowadays, who have a very
- 1:06:59spatial concept of their Heathen rewrite.
- 1:07:02It's not just what we're doing. You know, with this one
- 1:07:07particular thing, it's the space around us and it's, and it's
- 1:07:10Making that and building it into their own myth, their family,
- 1:07:14miss their family sagas and I'm like, I love that more.
- 1:07:16We need more of that because we are in Saga times and these are
- 1:07:20the moments that will shape what our descendants see and learn
- 1:07:27from. And what are we doing now, to,
- 1:07:29to kind of be that Source material for them?
- 1:07:32And then how are we living up to the, you know, the our ancestors
- 1:07:36legacies and perpetuating that and continuing to feed the well,
- 1:07:40We like to we like to say in and we are the new ancestors.
- 1:07:45Maybe. I mean yeah.
- 1:07:46Good example. Yeah.
- 1:07:48It's more truth than poetry to it for sure.
- 1:07:51And, and just know to, for all those new pagans out there that
- 1:07:56paganism is so much more Norse paganism in particular so much
- 1:08:00more than just learning how to read the ruins and doing a
- 1:08:03binder own magic thing and leaving a prayer to the gods.
- 1:08:06It's that is. Oh yeah, it is.
- 1:08:08That's not even. I wouldn't even consider.
- 1:08:10That part of Norse paganism to be honest.
- 1:08:13I mean it is but that's not gonna make it part of it.
- 1:08:15You can make it part of it. But yeah, you're right.
- 1:08:19The magic side and sorcery and Witchcraft everyone.
- 1:08:22So like drawn to of Norse paganism, that's not what Norse
- 1:08:26paganism is. That's a glit a little tiny
- 1:08:28bullet into part of it and not everyone who was back then, and
- 1:08:33is today, practices nor sorcery and practices ruin readings, and
- 1:08:37stuff like that, and shouldn't 100%.
- 1:08:40Agree, right? You not that they didn't and
- 1:08:43they shouldn't. And I'm glad that I was one of
- 1:08:45those types when I first came into North Sea than read.
- 1:08:48Like I was not one of those ones that was infatuated with Rune,
- 1:08:51magic, or reading the runes. Hell, I didn't even pick up my
- 1:08:54first Rune said and do anything that way until several years
- 1:08:58into my faith. You know what I mean?
- 1:09:00And it wasn't something. I'm like, well, it's been x
- 1:09:02amount of time. I'm ready.
- 1:09:03No, it was something that came to me in my own time through a
- 1:09:07vision. That was like, nope.
- 1:09:09It was literally like allowed Loud smack.
- 1:09:11You know, like almost like a thunder clap.
- 1:09:12Like this is what you got to do. Rice is where you got it.
- 1:09:15So that was my UPG. That's my personal experience.
- 1:09:18I've alluded to it. I've talked about it a lot on my
- 1:09:20different platforms, but that was what brought me to that
- 1:09:23point. It wasn't just like, Oh, I'm a
- 1:09:24pagan now, I should do this and you're not supposed to do that
- 1:09:28if you if if that's not really what you've been drawn to do,
- 1:09:31don't Don't Force It. Don't think that you have to now
- 1:09:33because well it's what I am now. It's not part of it.
- 1:09:37That that's not how it works, right?
- 1:09:40So I want to give everyone a quick glip.
- 1:09:44I'm not afraid to show my Pagan altar my Norse Pagan altar that
- 1:09:48I do my well, special awesome stuff.
- 1:09:51So this is a little dirty right now.
- 1:09:54This is a blip into my Norse Pagan altar.
- 1:09:59That is very impressive. Actually I love the the antlers
- 1:10:05and Just everything. You got the furs.
- 1:10:10Very nice. I'm sure it's not been the same
- 1:10:14either over the years. I'm sure you've it's kind of
- 1:10:16evolved into it has. Now, it has changed.
- 1:10:19It has changed has evolved into new things, I have different,
- 1:10:23different things I use for different blots different
- 1:10:26different tools. Most people probably wouldn't
- 1:10:31even realize you could use certain things as a tools for
- 1:10:33your, your Pagan practice communicating with the gods.
- 1:10:37I mean, I have a war-horn that I use to trumpet, too.
- 1:10:42Hindu, likhna Heimdall I called to him.
- 1:10:47I can call him right now. The audio is not going to fully
- 1:10:59like you're not going to be able to fully appreciate that,
- 1:11:01everybody listening and watching, but like that that
- 1:11:02initial blast was probably the best as it's going to get.
- 1:11:05And then it kind of like trailed off at the end, but that's not
- 1:11:08something that you can experience fully and appreciate
- 1:11:10fully unless you're in person because it does it like it
- 1:11:13reaches deep into like your, your core man.
- 1:11:17And I thank you for sharing. That was that was really
- 1:11:19special. But very welcome.
- 1:11:23Thank you for allowing me to blast that loud thing.
- 1:11:26Yeah, yeah. Not me.
- 1:11:27Never. Never.
- 1:11:28Never. Never.
- 1:11:29Going to turn down something like that, man.
- 1:11:30For sure, you know. But yeah, no, this was great.
- 1:11:35I think I think we've got a lot to share with everybody.
- 1:11:38So I hope you know, everyone who's listened and tuned in
- 1:11:41tuned into the premiere today, because, you know, this is going
- 1:11:43out for everybody watching right now, on the morning of Thursday,
- 1:11:48Thursday, and interestingly enough.

- 1:11:55nights. So the night before, this airs
- 1:11:57will have been the first night of Vikram, not there, the winter

- 1:12:03know, it was winter and summer, that was it.
- 1:12:04There was no Four Seasons in the north.
- 1:12:07You know, you had times when it was warm and times for Harvest
- 1:12:10and rating and doing whatever else.
- 1:12:12And then there was a times where you just hunkered down and
- 1:12:13didn't die or tried not to. And now we're getting into those
- 1:12:17months. People were hitting into those
- 1:12:19those dark times and You know, I hold my own, you know, winter
- 1:12:25nights thing. So this is that this is, will
- 1:12:26this will be night too. When this goes, this comes out
- 1:12:29and everybody that's, you know, watching in part of it.
