Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: This is a good one because it is going to
- 0:08Speaker 1: break down where Blackrocks strategy could be going around growth
- 0:12Speaker 1: in the blockchain world. We'll break it down for you.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I want to do think our sponsor today and that
- 0:17Speaker 1: is Coinbase. You guys can get, of course, over onto
- 0:20Speaker 1: Coinbase and start your crypto journey. It's very easy to
- 0:22Speaker 1: set up and you can get up to two hundred
- 0:25Speaker 1: bucks in crypto just by joining on using our link
- 0:27Speaker 1: down below, So check it out, use our link and
- 0:30Speaker 1: get started over there on Coinbase. Now I want to
- 0:33Speaker 1: showcase something to you. I'm going to zoom in on
- 0:35Speaker 1: the real world asset site and if you guys don't
- 0:38Speaker 1: follow this, this is the biddle site Blackrocks Institutional Digital
- 0:44Speaker 1: Liquidity Fund, and I want to zoom in on something
- 0:47Speaker 1: because this is where it gets kind of very interesting.
- 0:50Speaker 1: From when the fund started, you know, nice little moves. Yes,
- 0:53Speaker 1: we anticipated that, we had the securitized team, talked about
- 0:57Speaker 1: this with Carlos, and then it's kind of been somewhat
- 1:00Speaker 1: sideways as you can see.
- 1:01Speaker 2: And then I'm going to zoom in.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Right here because this right here is pretty intriguing and
- 1:07Speaker 1: you kind of see these dates right here, So I
- 1:08Speaker 1: want to click in right there, March nine to ten. Yeah,
- 1:11Speaker 1: right there, so six hundred and sixty eight mil right there.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Then we get up here over a bill and the
- 1:18Speaker 1: fourteenth and it just continues to climb, and here we
- 1:20Speaker 1: are right there at almost two billion right there. Hard
- 1:25Speaker 1: to see, but right there's the chart you can kind
- 1:26Speaker 1: of see. So the potential here is pretty significant. Now,
- 1:29Speaker 1: what happened or what is going on that could cause
- 1:32Speaker 1: a little bit of this move.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Securitize, as you guys know, is pretty much the leading
- 1:38Speaker 1: to RWA company, and I think the potential for growth
- 1:41Speaker 1: is the key that everybody is looking at over time,
- 1:44Speaker 1: what they're forecasting right now from where we are, and this.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Is what you've seen.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So if this particular growth continues at this pace, this
- 1:53Speaker 1: is one of those very up into the right growth
- 1:57Speaker 1: curves around a blockchain that could explode. And of course
- 2:02Speaker 1: Ethereum is still very very underserved as just a token price.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Let me go over to this clip right here, because
- 2:08Speaker 1: this is Securitized talking about them launching a new chain
- 2:13Speaker 1: on Ethereum.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Take a look, all right, So what we're answering today
- 2:16Speaker 3: is the following We're going to launch a new chain
- 2:18Speaker 3: together between Athena and securities called converts. R WAS and
- 2:21Speaker 3: DeFi will convert into the same thing that will make
- 2:24Speaker 3: grow both the r WA market and the DEFIVE markets
- 2:27Speaker 3: to an order of monitum bigger than that. So we're
- 2:32Speaker 3: bringing this together and it will be fully integrated in
- 2:35Speaker 3: the chain. What we're trying to do here is to
- 2:37Speaker 3: basically take traditional capital markets assets, put them on tokenized form,
- 2:42Speaker 3: and then make them useful within the DeFi ecosystem.
- 2:45Speaker 1: DeFi markets around one hundred billion, US capital markets around
- 2:48Speaker 1: one hundred trillions, so the potential to get DeFi for
- 2:50Speaker 1: these capital.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Markets could be huge.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It goes back to the chart that I showed you
- 2:54Speaker 1: earlier from Securitized in terms of RWA growth and what
- 2:58Speaker 1: the potential is. All of this resides on ethereum.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Guys.
- 3:01Speaker 1: This is why eth is in such a good position.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Now. If you think about Blackrock and.
- 3:07Speaker 1: You wonder a little bit about where they're going, well,
- 3:10Speaker 1: this guy right here is Robert Mitchnick. He is essentially
- 3:13Speaker 1: their digital assets director lead. This is a guy that
- 3:16Speaker 1: makes all the calls around RBA's and in this next
- 3:19Speaker 1: clip he breaks down the comparison between bitcoin and ethereum
- 3:24Speaker 1: in terms of growth trajectory and also the opportunity that
- 3:28Speaker 1: is happening.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Pay attention to.
- 3:29Speaker 1: This because remember black Rock still has the largest ETF
- 3:32Speaker 1: out there on bitcoin ibit. This is a big statement
- 3:36Speaker 1: and it may be the point of where we see
- 3:39Speaker 1: this all in on ETH.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 3:41Speaker 4: The resonance of the two kind of depends on for
- 3:45Speaker 4: background and interest and expertise. Right if I go to
- 3:49Speaker 4: the engineering part of our digital assets team or our
- 3:53Speaker 4: engineering or broadly, I would say, you know, it's probably
- 3:56Speaker 4: four to one people actually more interested, more excited about ETH.
- 4:01Speaker 1: All right, So, as you know, Blackrock, a brokerage, is
- 4:04Speaker 1: in a bit of a war right now with banks.
- 4:06Speaker 2: This is something that we're going to probably see a
- 4:08Speaker 2: lot more of. Now.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You have to look at where banks are going because
- 4:11Speaker 1: this is a play that banks have not had a
- 4:13Speaker 1: chance to do in terms of getting into blockchain, holding
- 4:16Speaker 1: stable coins, et cetera, our to bas et cetera. This
- 4:19Speaker 1: is where I think Avalanche could play into this.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Take a look at this clip.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Maybe like a hot take from my side is that
- 4:26Speaker 5: I think that any application or business that reaches true
- 4:29Speaker 5: product market fit in this space will want and necessitate
- 4:33Speaker 5: its own chain, its own layer one blockchain. I mean, frankly,
- 4:37Speaker 5: we had converged today, right, So they're building their own chain.
- 4:40Speaker 5: So I think we'll start seeing more of that, and
- 4:42Speaker 5: inherently they'll they'll have to be interoperable.
- 4:44Speaker 6: So just curious who here in the audience thinks the
- 4:46Speaker 6: world needs more blockchains?
- 4:49Speaker 4: All right?
- 4:49Speaker 2: There's three people.
- 4:51Speaker 5: I don't mean entire blockchain networks, right, they can be
- 4:53Speaker 5: Avalanche all ones, they can be Cosmos chains. I think
- 4:57Speaker 5: what we really need to see to see the tipping
- 4:59Speaker 5: poin is for a web two company, whether it's a
- 5:03Speaker 5: neo bank or a wealth tech platform, one of these
- 5:06Speaker 5: that is not necessarily like a traditional incumbent bank, but
- 5:09Speaker 5: maybe a challenger that really starts to adopt the tech
- 5:13Speaker 5: and start really kind of gearing up its business, building
- 5:16Speaker 5: a moat. And that's when I think others will start
- 5:18Speaker 5: to have FOMO and kind of come in and really
- 5:21Speaker 5: start to like ramp things up on their side. Have
- 5:23Speaker 5: only seen that a bit with JP Morgan, though with
- 5:26Speaker 5: JP Morgan, yeah, I don't think we've seen an Adyx.
- 5:29Speaker 5: It's the it.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Girl, all right.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So the point they're making there is that there is
- 5:35Speaker 1: a massive shift underway right now, and I think what
- 5:38Speaker 1: they're alluding to could be the spot that Robinhood is
- 5:42Speaker 1: trying to fill. And you guys heard me probably talk
- 5:44Speaker 1: a little bit about Robinhood big announcements this week. They've
- 5:46Speaker 1: got this whole new money manager plan, but they're also
- 5:48Speaker 1: looking at becoming a bank for you in the fall.
- 5:52Speaker 1: That could be this Web two bank that could understand
- 5:56Speaker 1: the connection into blockchain and tie this in. So with that,
- 6:01Speaker 1: I want to go to this next clip with Vlad
- 6:02Speaker 1: the CEO of Robinhood.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 6:04Speaker 7: There's actually a lot that we're going to get done
- 6:06Speaker 7: this year, so investing in the Robinhood wallet, thousands of
- 6:11Speaker 7: additional coins, and then we have bitstamp, and we really
- 6:14Speaker 7: see an opportunity there to drive the same sort of
- 6:17Speaker 7: Robinhood effect that we've brought to retail to the institutional
- 6:20Speaker 7: space with crypto. But what I'm perhaps most excited about
- 6:24Speaker 7: is tokenization equities, private investments and more should be brought
- 6:29Speaker 7: onto crypto technology to really unleash the true power of
- 6:33Speaker 7: the crypto revolution.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Look at uniswap right here.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Just check the chain all volume on uniswap before just
- 6:39Speaker 1: cross two point five billion with ethereum, arbitrambrace, etc. E.
- 6:44Speaker 1: The course is still continuing to climb and grow. So
- 6:47Speaker 1: I think again this lines up very well with what's happening. Furthermore,
- 6:51Speaker 1: if you look at that and look at the validator
- 6:53Speaker 1: right here, just get into take a look at the
- 6:56Speaker 1: validator cube. But also on a showcase right here, this
- 7:00Speaker 1: growth right here that we see on active validators. This
- 7:02Speaker 1: is over the last year.
- 7:03Speaker 2: All growing.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And remember that when you're trying to grow something, you
- 7:08Speaker 1: need developers, and you need infrastructure, and you need ecosystem.
- 7:11Speaker 1: That's where ethereum, of course comes into play. This next
- 7:14Speaker 1: clip we'll get into well, if you have all that
- 7:18Speaker 1: and you have potential investment coming in, where would it go.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 7:24Speaker 7: Over the next several decades, one hundred and twenty four
- 7:26Speaker 7: trillion is going to be handed down from older generations
- 7:30Speaker 7: to younger including many of the Gold members in this room.
- 7:33Speaker 7: The Great Wealth Transfer, the largest movement of assets in
- 7:38Speaker 7: human history. We're putting the pieces in place so that
- 7:41Speaker 7: we can fulfill your daily and your lifetime financial needs,
- 7:44Speaker 7: some of which you'll hear about at our first crypto
- 7:47Speaker 7: event in France in just three months.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And with that you got to look at etherealized. Etherealized
- 7:53Speaker 1: is just opening up the potential here for product marketing
- 7:56Speaker 1: on the Ethereum ecosystem. They are able to tell the
- 8:00Speaker 1: story to boomers. Boomers of course all in these you
- 8:03Speaker 1: know funds, all in these institutional capital houses, who also
- 8:08Speaker 1: are in a position where they're starting to transfer. Well,
- 8:10Speaker 1: so this is where etherializes winning over boomers.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Take a look at this clip.
- 8:14Speaker 6: The realize is very new. We started a few months ago.
- 8:17Speaker 6: Our vision is to bring all the world's financial assets
- 8:20Speaker 6: onto Ethereum. Started starting with the focus on Wall Street.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Right.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Let's say you have Apple Stock. You could put this
- 8:25Speaker 6: on chain, you could plug it into a DeFi protocol,
- 8:28Speaker 6: you could take a loan out against it, split it
- 8:30Speaker 6: up into like its principle and its dividend components.
- 8:33Speaker 8: I mean, Nice had a dividend piece too, because that's
- 8:35Speaker 8: real that's real value right there.
- 8:37Speaker 6: Oh, for sure, we have a lot of other things
- 8:39Speaker 6: I can't talk about right now. Unfortunately, in the pipeline
- 8:43Speaker 6: this is kind of a kin to what Amazon does,
- 8:45Speaker 6: where they prioritize usage instead of instead of profits in
- 8:49Speaker 6: order to grow and kind of take over the market.
- 8:52Speaker 8: Fearing out of the way too. If you think about
- 8:54Speaker 8: what they did technically, it was simple building blocks. Yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 8: and then fill it in as they say, working backwards
- 8:59Speaker 8: from the customer, which is their their ethos. But similar
- 9:03Speaker 8: things are happening in ethereum. Yes, that's the story.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Yeah. Ethereum was just one platform. It did about twelve
- 9:11Speaker 6: transactions a second. Okay, Ethereum needs to do thousands, and
- 9:15Speaker 6: that's what roll ups allow it to do. Pretty soon
- 9:18Speaker 6: they'll all be able to interoperate seamlessly.
- 9:20Speaker 8: And getting better. So the evolutionary nature of Ethereum right
- 9:23Speaker 8: now is a positive to your point about the growth piece. Sure.
- 9:27Speaker 8: So now, fifteen twenty years ago, A ws okay, why
- 9:31Speaker 8: should I build a data center? Their value propercor was clear.
- 9:33Speaker 8: I just go I got a prototyltic. Don't yet know
- 9:35Speaker 8: what it is that democratized. No names like Airbnb, Dropbox
- 9:39Speaker 8: came out of the woodwork boom, massive wealth creation. The
- 9:43Speaker 8: numbers are off the chart, so that a similar concept
- 9:47Speaker 8: attracts developers. Ethereum attracts that PERSONA They go, I like this,
- 9:52Speaker 8: but you have all these other factors in Ethereum that
- 9:55Speaker 8: you don't have on bitcoin, because it's kind of lagging
- 9:58Speaker 8: that in my opinion on them.
- 10:00Speaker 6: Yeah, well, you know people use ethereum.
- 10:05Speaker 8: A good point right there. If you have the answer,
- 10:08Speaker 8: you have to be willing to misunderstood for a long time,
- 10:11Speaker 8: and Amazon Web Services was misunderstood. I mean people were
- 10:15Speaker 8: throwing haymakers out there. Oh it's just trivial, anyone can
- 10:18Speaker 8: do that. What they were missing was but you weren't
- 10:21Speaker 8: comparing the right things.
- 10:23Speaker 1: If you go back to two thousand and six, here,
- 10:24Speaker 1: this is Amazon's stock price in two thousand and six,
- 10:28Speaker 1: right around a buck seventy. That line in the sand
- 10:31Speaker 1: right there was when AWS was created. Look at the
- 10:34Speaker 1: growth of Amazon and guys, it didn't stop there. This
- 10:38Speaker 1: just kept going. This is the Amazon stock as we
- 10:42Speaker 1: started to see AWS and the future potential of what
- 10:47Speaker 1: Amazon would become. And I think that's the point where
- 10:51Speaker 1: we are right now with financial assets and the potential
- 10:55Speaker 1: of us seeing ETH along with other ecosystems, accelerate into
- 10:59Speaker 1: this next generation possibly the you know, possibly the next Internet,
- 11:04Speaker 1: you know, in terms of growth and opportunity.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Here so a lot to talk about. We're going to.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Continue to cover this for you guys. Of course, if
- 11:10Speaker 1: you're not subscribe to the channel. Getting in there right
