Speaker 2: So bear with us.

Speaker 2: We're going to make jokes and do all kinds of stuff here.
• 1:22
Speaker 2: So, Michael, thank you for being here.
• 1:27
Speaker 2: So Michael is an IT professional with over 20 years of experience who transitioned from software development to people development.
• 1:34
Speaker 2: He's trained with experts like John C Maxwell, my mentor as well, dr Joseph McLennan III and many others I could go on for days.
• 1:42
Speaker 2: Les Brown all kinds of stuff.
• 1:44
Speaker 2: And the third and many others I could go on for days.
• 1:46
Speaker 2: Les Brown all kinds of stuff.
• 1:48
Speaker 2: He's developed the doer method to assist individuals in their career transitions, emphasizing practical action steps, and this is really what we're going to dig into today.
• 1:58
Speaker 3: So Michael, tell us a little bit more about yourself.
• 2:01
  Speaker 3: Absolutely so.
• 2:05
Speaker 3: I'm located in beautiful Ohio, the southern part of Ohio, the Cincinnati area.
• 2:07
Speaker 3: Been married 27 years, raising three amazing sons.
• 2:10
Speaker 3: I have a oh I had to think about ages 17-year-old, an almost 16-year-old and an 11-year-old.
• 2:16
Speaker 3: Wow, so life has been fun, michael.
• 2:20
Speaker 2: And you're still here.
• 2:21
Speaker 2: I don't see a lot of gray hair yet, buddy.
• 2:24
Speaker 3: Hey, my sons, keep me young for sure.
• 2:25
  Speaker 3: There you here.
• 2:25
Speaker 3: I don't see a lot of gray hair yet, buddy.
• 2:26
Speaker 3: Hey, my sons, keep me young for sure.
• 2:29
  Speaker 2: There you go.
• 2:30
Speaker 2: So Michael's also an instructor at the Neuron Coding Institute and my coach.
• 2:34
Speaker 2: You know, honestly, this podcast wouldn't be here without Michael Pope.
• 2:40
Speaker 2: I'm just giving credit right now.
• 2:42
Speaker 2: So thank you for all the help and all the work you've done and put into this.
• 2:45
  Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
• 2:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, and like I told you earlier, I mean I commend you on what you've been doing with the podcast and making it a great podcast.
• 2:52
Speaker 3: You've been consistent with it, Amazing show adding a lot of value out there.
• 2:57
  Speaker 3: So thank you.
• 2:59
Speaker 2: Thank you, I appreciate that very much.
• 3:00
Speaker 2: So, michael, let's just dive in man.
• 3:03
Speaker 2: So we're in the IT world, still are in the IT world, but was your jam, if you will, and you moved into coaching and what you're doing now.
• 3:17
Speaker 2: So what was maybe that point where you said you know, I want something different, I want something more?
• 3:22
Speaker 2: Can you talk about that a little bit?
• 3:23
  Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely yeah.
• 3:24
Speaker 3: So my background is in IT, software development, and I been doing software development for the last 27 years right, really, I'm actually going on 30 years, really if you count in some of the schooling time, the internship time.
• 3:39
Speaker 3: And for me, when I first started in it, I loved it, I love technology, so it worked out great.
• 3:46
Speaker 3: However, I was very introverted and, michael, once I got into the realm of personal development, I started changing myself.
• 3:55
Speaker 3: I started developing the desire to want to help other people really get out of their shell a little bit more and work more on that people development side of things.
• 4:04
Speaker 3: And that's really where I got started Get out of their shell a little bit more and work more on that people development side of things.
• 4:09
Speaker 3: And that's really where I got started.
• 4:10
Speaker 3: So I started doing training inside Toastmasters International as some of their leadership conferences and events, and I was like, man, I love doing this, I would love doing this, I would love to do something like this at a larger scale to help more people.
• 4:23
Speaker 3: And so, in 2019, I joined the John Maxwell team and became certified speaker trainer coach through his program.
• 4:30
Speaker 3: And then, of course, in 2021, I joined the Newer Encoding Institute to learn from Joseph McLennan, the third and his team, and so, yeah, that's kind of where I started.
• 4:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, so I just want to go back.
• 4:44
Speaker 2: You said you were shy.
• 4:46
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm still introverted.
• 4:50
  Speaker 2: So.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: So Michael Pope you know he speaks on stages everywhere.
• 4:54
Speaker 2: I mean, just just the work you've obviously done in yourself to get you out of that is amazing and I commend it.
• 5:03
Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you.
• 5:04
  Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely so.
• 5:05
  Speaker 2: You've trained.
• 5:06
Speaker 2: You know some of the you know, world's leading experts in leadership and neuropsychology.
• 5:12
Speaker 2: How have these experiences shaped your methods in coaching individuals through their career transitions?
• 5:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's helped out a whole lot, right.
• 5:22
Speaker 3: So I love learning from people who learn.
• 5:24
Speaker 3: So my mentors like the John Maxwell's and the Joseph McLennan's they're constantly learning from other people as well and the beauty of it is they're bringing.
• 5:36
Speaker 3: They taught me the importance of not teaching theory, Right.
• 5:40
Speaker 3: So anything any type of information they share is lived experiences, which is so important.
• 5:45
Speaker 3: So, with me learning that from them and now being able to help other people with their transitions and helping other people really just go further, faster in their careers or further faster in their business or whatever they're looking to do, it really helps because of that example that I learned from my mentor.
• 6:03
  Speaker 2: Yeah, fantastic.
• 6:04
Speaker 2: So I know there's a lot of people that especially let's spend this more to you know military, obviously, our families, as we do.
• 6:12
Speaker 2: So you know a lot of, especially during the transition period, and that's again what I focus on with them is they struggle, finding their purpose right and when they find their purpose, look out because they take off.
• 6:26
Speaker 2: So what I'd like to know, you know and again I'm going to go back most military join the military for that purpose and to serve right, and so they get out.
• 6:34
Speaker 2: If they don't have that, they feel a little lost.
• 6:36
Speaker 2: So what I'd like to focus on really is your doer method.
• 6:40
Speaker 2: So how do you find that sense of purpose?
• 6:44
Speaker 2: How do you know it's your purpose?
• 6:46
Speaker 2: I'm going a long question here.
• 6:48
Speaker 2: How does that play into your doer method?
• 6:52
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 6:52
Speaker 3: So I think purpose is so important, right, and I'm first off, I am thankful and I appreciate anyone who's willing to serve our country.
• 7:01
Speaker 3: You know, my father was in the Marines.
• 7:04
Speaker 3: I have two sisters who are currently serving, currently enlisted in the army, so I have great respect for anyone joining the military and willing to serve our country because I understand the price they're willing to pay for me, right, without even knowing me.
• 7:20
Speaker 3: So I truly appreciate that do is so important.
• 7:35
Speaker 3: And I know a lot of people when they transition into the military, maybe they're not clear, maybe they just know, hey, I want to serve.
• 7:39
Speaker 3: They don't really know.
• 7:39
Speaker 3: And when they join the military, a lot of times the military would give them that identity or that sense of purpose.
• 7:44
Speaker 3: And what I see happen, michael, is that when they're transitioning out of the military, a lot of them are like, okay, I went from an environment where I was told what to do, how to think in some situations, to now, how do I figure all this out?
• 8:01
Speaker 3: Like what's next for me?
• 8:03
Speaker 3: And I think it's important to have a some type of sense of some type of strategy, of of knowing, ok, this is what my end goal is, or really, this is what I want to be known for, this is what my end goal is, or really, this is what I want to be known for.
• 8:16
Speaker 3: So I think if you could come up with that, hey, what do I want to be known for?
• 8:19
Speaker 3: That'll help you identify your purpose.
• 8:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, what is your legacy?
• 8:25
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly Right.
• 8:26
Speaker 3: What are you going to be remembered as?
• 8:28
Speaker 3: In a sense, right, absolutely.
• 8:29
  Speaker 3: So doer.
• 8:30
  Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go.
• 8:31
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 8:32
Speaker 3: So let's talk about doer.
• 8:33
Speaker 3: So doer is an acrostic.
• 8:34
Speaker 3: So the D, the O, the E are all stand for something different, and so the D stands for discipline, and our mentor, joseph, talks about discipline is doing the prescribed activity, no matter what, even and especially when it's difficult, because, let's face it, it will be difficult at times, because, let's face it, it will be difficult at times.
• 8:58
Speaker 3: And so when I look at a person who's transitioning from the military into something else, one of the beautiful things about the military anyone who's served is that the military helps you become more disciplined, and a lot of those skills are transferable.
• 9:11
Speaker 3: So the discipline you learn in the military, you can easily transfer those skills into corporate arena or into, like, your own business if you want to.
• 9:21
  Speaker 2: Absolutely.
• 9:22
Speaker 3: I think it's important to really look at your skills and say, okay, when I was in the military, I had a routine, some type of time management system in place for me.
• 9:33
Speaker 3: How can I now transfer that into my business or into what I'm doing in corporate America or whatever field I'm working in?
• 9:42
Speaker 3: Also, in the realm of discipline in the military, you had goals and maybe they were given to you by someone else, but you had discipline to earn those goals.
• 9:58
Speaker 3: So take that same skill set and set short-term goals for yourself, long-term goals for yourself.
• 10:03
Speaker 3: But it all comes down to that discipline that's already ingrained in you.
• 10:09
Speaker 3: If you've served any time in the military, you have a sense of discipline.
• 10:12
Speaker 3: You probably make up your bed a certain way.
• 10:14
Speaker 3: You've got that discipline habit.
• 10:16
Speaker 3: Keep those habits and apply those to whatever your calling profession is, your job, your family, whatever it is you're focused on.
• 10:26
Speaker 3: Put that discipline there.
• 10:29
Speaker 2: I mean, we're just starting right, but that is the beginning as well, because if you don't have the discipline, and you don't have the discipline and you don't do the thing you don't want to do, or you yeah, that's right.
• 10:40
Speaker 2: So, yeah, if you lay in bed instead of getting up to get the exercise, to get you moving for the day, or to create that business plan, or whatever the case may be, it's never gonna get anywhere.
• 10:55
Speaker 2: So amen on the discipline.
• 10:55
Speaker 2: I love that great the day, or to create that business plan, or whatever the case may be, you're never going to get anywhere.
• 10:56
Speaker 2: So amen on the discipline.
• 10:58
Speaker 2: I love that Great, great tip.
• 11:00
  Speaker 2: So let's move to O.
• 11:03
  Speaker 3: All right.
• 11:03
Speaker 3: So O is all about being more opportunity focused, and this is all about so when I look at someone's transition out of the military.
• 11:13
Speaker 3: O being opportunity focused is more thinking about more continuous learning, All right, Looking for new, looking for or embracing new opportunities.
• 11:22
Speaker 3: And so I think it starts with having a growth mindset where you're focusing on, hey, what can I learn next?
• 11:29
Speaker 3: Or how can I learn a skill, how can I take my current skills and apply those to some new opportunities?
• 11:37
Speaker 3: Because in the military, like you, you, you develop some problem solving skills.
• 11:42
Speaker 3: You develop some other skills.
• 11:44
Speaker 3: Take those skills and apply those to a new opportunity.
• 11:48
  Speaker 2: Fantastic.
• 11:48
Speaker 2: So what are some opportunities you would see I know I'm changing stuff up on you because that's what I do.
• 11:54
Speaker 2: This is live, not Memorex, if you're old enough to remember that commercial.
• 12:04
Speaker 2: So for the opportunities, where are some places you might find those?
• 12:09
Speaker 3: opportunities if you're a veteran and or their families.
• 12:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, so there's a few different organizations.
• 12:12
Speaker 3: One organization that I work with is called ACP, american Corporate Partners, and they have a ton of resources for veterans that help with that transition path from military to civilian life, and they have articles on them, other resources that you can use.
• 12:29
Speaker 3: Other opportunities may be just if you're just trying to decide hey, do I go back to school or do I just take some type of online programming or coaching program, right?
• 12:39
Speaker 3: So it's like there's lots of opportunities available.
• 12:41
Speaker 3: I I think it comes back to your first question, michael, about that purpose, right?
• 12:46
Speaker 3: So if you know your purpose, then you can start identifying the opportunities that are going to help you move closer to your purpose.
• 12:53
Speaker 3: Absolutely, love that, yeah.
• 12:58
Speaker 3: And I think part of that is networking too.
• 13:00
Speaker 3: All right, you know you talk to anyone who served in the military.
• 13:04
Speaker 3: They have a group of people that they're close with, right, they put their lives in a lot, especially if they served for a period of time.
• 13:12
Speaker 3: They trusted these individuals.
• 13:14
Speaker 3: You know they would have died for those individuals, right, so they had that trust.
• 13:19
Speaker 3: But I think, as far as being opportunity focused is, you have to start expanding that network and look for new people that you can connect with and network with to grow.
• 13:29
Speaker 3: I know for me, a lot of the opportunities I've had in terms of speaking engagements and other paid opportunities have come through other people.
• 13:39
  Speaker 3: You know those.
• 13:41
Speaker 3: Networking is very important.
• 13:43
  Speaker 2: Absolutely so.
• 13:44
Speaker 2: I'd like to mention now that you brought that up Very nice, you brought this right to this place.
• 13:49
Speaker 2: So on the top right-hand corner of your screen, there's a blue QR code.
• 13:54
Speaker 2: And so that goes to Empower Performance Strategies.
• 13:58
Speaker 2: It has free e-books that I've written.
• 14:00
Speaker 2: It has Facebook groups, it has resources, all of those amazing things.
• 14:06
Speaker 2: So please check that out.
• 14:07
Speaker 2: If you're listening on the podcast later on it's empowerperformancestrategiescom.
• 14:11
  Speaker 2: Again empowerperformancestrategiescom.
• 14:14
Speaker 2: So we have Facebook groups for both families and the veterans.
• 14:19
Speaker 2: Get in there, bounce some ideas around with people.
• 14:23
Speaker 2: You know network in there, and there's lots of people that are more than happy to help.
• 14:27
Speaker 2: I'll jump in there and talk as well.
• 14:29
Speaker 2: So there's always those opportunities, if you will, right there.
• 14:33
Speaker 2: So let alone all of the other.
• 14:35
Speaker 2: You know social media and things that you can find, so thank you for leading me into that Michael Appreciate that You're welcome.
• 14:43
Speaker 3: That's so important, though.
• 14:44
Speaker 3: Right is having that connection where you can network with people and bounce ideas off of them.
• 14:49
Speaker 2: It is it helps and just having that community to join when you come out, like you had mentioned, you know you lose that camaraderie when you leave the military.
• 14:58
Speaker 2: And that's one of the main things that transitioning military veterans struggle with.
• 15:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, so join a group.
• 15:05
  Speaker 3: You're alone, right?
• 15:06
  Speaker 3: You're like.
• 15:06
Speaker 3: I'm a little alone, yeah, so so join the group.
• 15:10
  Speaker 3: Let's go to E.
• 15:11
  Speaker 3: All right.
• 15:13
Speaker 3: So E is all about eliminating excuses.
• 15:15
Speaker 3: So, eliminating excuses, I know for me that was a skill that I learned many years ago from one of my first mentors who introduced me to personal development.
• 15:27
Speaker 3: He gave me a book called the Magic of Thinking Big, and chapter two in that book was cure yourself of excuseitis to failure disease, right.
• 15:36
Speaker 3: So so that in that chapter I learned about the importance of eliminating excuses, love it and you think about so.
• 15:45
Speaker 3: If someone who served in the military, right, they've got that discipline and they probably quickly learn, you can't be making excuses.
• 15:53
Speaker 3: Right, if you're told to do something or you've given some type of instructions, you're not making excuses right.
• 15:59
Speaker 3: You have that figure it out mentality, that problem solving mentality.
• 16:03
Speaker 3: But what I encourage people is remember those skills that you learned and when you're transitioning those to your own business or wherever it is, keep it right.
• 16:13
Speaker 3: Keep saying, hey, I'm going to eliminate the excuses from my life and so I'm going to start looking for the opportunities.
• 16:20
Speaker 3: I'm going to solve problems, to look for the solutions.
• 16:22
Speaker 3: And it helps with motivation too.
• 16:25
Speaker 3: So, whatever your goal is, if you're looking for in the military, maybe someone told you when to wake up, told you when to go, but now you have to motivate yourself, because maybe you're an entrepreneur now.
• 16:38
  Speaker 3: Well, that's that self-motivation.
• 16:40
Speaker 3: You've got to be able to eliminate those excuses that are keeping you from doing what you know you should be doing.
• 16:46
Speaker 2: So I think it goes back to the discipline.
• 16:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly right.
• 16:51
Speaker 2: Ties nicely to the discipline.
• 16:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, you got to have that discipline and just be willing to eliminate those excuses.
• 16:57
Speaker 2: And the military is conditioned, obviously, to do those things you know to follow through.
• 17:05
Speaker 2: You don't make excuses, or you know it doesn't go over very well.
• 17:09
Speaker 2: So I love that.
• 17:13
  Speaker 2: Let's go to R.
• 17:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, and so the last thing I'll say about eliminating excuses.
• 17:18
Speaker 3: Also, I think just focusing on those solutions rather than the problems, it can really help you navigate any type of corporate challenges.
• 17:26
Speaker 3: So if you are working in corporate America and they're dealing with things, that skill set that you bring to the table of being able to solve problems makes you very valuable in that environment.
• 17:35
  Speaker 3: Absolutely, that's a great point.
• 17:38
Speaker 3: Thank you for bringing that up.
• 17:38
  Speaker 3: You're welcome.
• 17:39
Speaker 3: And so then, moving on to R.
• 17:41
Speaker 3: So R is all about responsibility, and really, when I think about responsibility, I think about more personal responsibility, and this is really you taking ownership for yourself.
• 17:52
Speaker 3: Now, being in the military, right, you had someone who gave you your plan.
• 17:57
Speaker 3: They gave you your career plan.
• 17:58
Speaker 3: They told you, step by step, what to do.
• 18:00
Speaker 3: Well, now you're out, so now it's up to you to make those choices yourself.
• 18:06
Speaker 3: So you've got to take personal responsibility, and there's a few areas that I encourage people to take.
• 18:11
Speaker 3: Personal responsibility is in one is your attitude right?
• 18:16
Speaker 3: Your attitude, the way you think, is how you respond to certain things right?
• 18:21
Speaker 3: Do you control your temper?
• 18:22
Speaker 3: Do you let it out right?
• 18:24
Speaker 3: Are you able to control anger?
• 18:26
Speaker 3: Are you able to be positive and upbeat, right, controlling that attitude.
• 18:29
Speaker 3: Attitude is a choice.
• 18:31
Speaker 3: So it's important to take personal responsibility for your attitude.
• 18:35
Speaker 3: Regardless of the circumstances, you can control your attitude.
• 18:39
Speaker 3: So that's number one.
• 18:39
Speaker 3: Number two is your character.
• 18:43
Speaker 3: That's something that is personal responsibility.
• 18:47
Speaker 3: No one can instill character in you.
• 18:52
Speaker 3: You have to take personal responsibility for it.
• 18:54
Speaker 3: I can want the best for my three sons, but it's up to them to maintain their character themselves.
• 19:00
Speaker 3: They have to do that.
• 19:02
Speaker 3: Are you going to be a person of your word?
• 19:03
Speaker 3: Are you going to be known as being a person of your word?
• 19:06
Speaker 3: That's very important, but that's a personal responsibility choice.
• 19:11
Speaker 3: And in the third area, michael and it kind of ties in with the whole doer thing is your actions.
• 19:17
Speaker 3: We have to take complete responsibility of our actions.
• 19:20
Speaker 3: So if I say I'm going to do something, am I going to do it?
• 19:23
Speaker 3: No one can do it for me, right?
• 19:26
Speaker 3: No one can do pushups for me, right?
• 19:28
Speaker 3: I have to do it myself.
• 19:28
Speaker 3: No one can do it for me, right?
• 19:30
Speaker 3: No one can do pushups for me, right?
• 19:31
Speaker 3: I have to do it myself.
• 19:32
  Speaker 3: Is that?
• 19:35
Speaker 1: personal responsibility yeah Right.
• 19:36
Speaker 3: Like it would be nice if I can get that VA for that.
• 19:38
Speaker 3: I'm waiting for GDP to start working out for me while I can eat some ice cream.
• 19:41
Speaker 3: Doesn't work that way.
• 19:43
Speaker 3: Huh, weird, yeah, but it's.
• 19:46
Speaker 3: But it's so important to take control of our actions.
• 19:48
Speaker 3: But it's so important to take control of our actions.
• 19:52
Speaker 3: So if part of our purpose is, hey, maybe I need a new job or I need this business plan, my personal responsibility with my actions might be submitting applications, it might be making phone calls, networking.
• 20:06
Speaker 3: Whatever the required action items are, I have to be willing to do it.
• 20:10
Speaker 3: No one can do it for me.
• 20:11
Speaker 3: There's some things you've got to do yourself.
• 20:14
Speaker 3: So, yes, that's the doer.
• 20:18
Speaker 2: Excellent With an A.
• 20:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we need to change it to a doer.
• 20:25
  Speaker 2: A doer Phenomenal.
• 20:28
Speaker 2: Seriously, I've heard this before.
• 20:30
Speaker 2: That's why it's so important that we bring this up.
• 20:32
Speaker 2: I think it's vital information for veterans and their families, and civilians as well, I mean.
• 20:37
Speaker 2: I think we all can learn from that.
• 20:41
Speaker 2: So thank you for talking about that.
• 20:42
  Speaker 2: It's phenomenal information.
• 20:44
Speaker 2: So, transitioning from one career path to another whether that be transitioning out of the military or transitioning from going to corporate to a coaching job or you know business or your own business I guess I should say it can be daunting, right.
• 20:59
Speaker 2: So what are some strategies, using the doer method, you'd recommend for individuals to adapt and thrive in a new setting?
• 21:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, so one would be put yourself in an environment so we talked earlier about community Put yourself in an environment where you can number one, have people that are going to hold you accountable to it.
• 21:18
Speaker 3: That's important, but also we need those communities where we can have the support.
• 21:23
  Speaker 3: I need people.
• 21:25
Speaker 3: Really, I think we should be cheering our own selves on.
• 21:29
Speaker 3: However, there's times when you need to hear someone else cheer you on too.
• 21:34
Speaker 3: You kind of need that.
• 21:35
Speaker 3: Hey, you're doing an amazing job.
• 21:37
Speaker 3: You need that feedback and that support.
• 21:40
  Speaker 3: I think that's very important.
• 21:42
Speaker 2: Michael Pope, you're doing an amazing job.
• 21:45
Speaker 3: Thank you, Mr Cole.
• 21:45
Speaker 3: I'd like to celebrate you right now.
• 21:47
Speaker 3: Hey, I received that.
• 21:48
Speaker 3: I'll take it, thank you.
• 21:48
Speaker 3: Thank you, mr Cole.
• 21:48
Speaker 3: I'd like to celebrate you right now.
• 21:49
Speaker 3: Hey, I received it, I'll take it, thank you, thank you, you should.
• 21:51
  Speaker 3: Absolutely.
• 21:51
Speaker 3: And so I'll tell you, michael, years ago, when my self-image was low, it was tough for me to take compliments like that Right.
• 22:01
Speaker 3: Someone would say, hey, michael, you did a great job, and I would immediately say, yeah, but I didn't do X, y, z, or I didn't do this, or I should have done this Right.
• 22:11
Speaker 3: So that's why it's important to to have an environment where you can get the proper feedback and support.
• 22:17
Speaker 3: The second thing to that would be oh sorry, put yourself in an environment where you can have personal development, so you can personally grow yourself.
• 22:28
Speaker 3: John Maxwell says that growth is the only guarantee that tomorrow can get better, and so we have to grow.
• 22:34
Speaker 3: And so, for me, growing that's how I'm able to now accept, you know, celebration and appreciation from other people, because I've grown.
• 22:44
Speaker 2: It's super important and you know it's the norm to say hey, you're amazing, say oh, thank you, it was this or they did this, and you know, I think it's ingrained in us or conditioned in us as human beings as a child almost that, instead of just be present and really hey, this person took the time to compliment me.
• 23:09
Speaker 2: You know, this person literally took the time out of the day and I I owe them the respect for them and myself to really accept it.
• 23:20
Speaker 2: I agree, and here's the trick, guys, or the tip it feels good.
• 23:22
Speaker 2: It feels good to let that in.
• 23:26
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 23:28
Speaker 2: So, thank you, thank you, great, great, great information, as always.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: So, and and another thing, if we can, before I move on to the next next question, really quick, is enjoy the celebration of it.
• 23:39
Speaker 2: You know, in neuroencoding, where we learned very early on in the Institute, we don't celebrate enough for ourselves.
• 23:47
Speaker 2: We don't, we don't pat ourselves on the back.
• 23:48
Speaker 2: We don't celebrate enough for ourselves.
• 23:49
Speaker 2: We don't, we don't pat ourselves on the back.
• 23:52
Speaker 2: We don't have, as joseph mcclendon calls it, astitude, where we shake our ass and we just celebrate.
• 23:57
Speaker 2: You can't be upset and and and dance.
• 24:00
  Speaker 2: It doesn't happen.
• 24:01
Speaker 2: So take those moments and just celebrate yourself, whether that's just patting yourself on the back, putting a big old smile on your face.
• 24:08
Speaker 2: It changes your, your physiology, it it changes your emotions and all those things.
• 24:13
Speaker 2: So just a quick little thought there.
• 24:16
Speaker 2: So I want to talk about your book just for a second Gadget's Guide to Marketing.
• 24:19
Speaker 2: Yes, so, and he's looking for the book right now.
• 24:24
  Speaker 2: There you go.
• 24:26
Speaker 2: Awesome, so offer insights for speakers, coaches and entrepreneurs.
• 24:29
Speaker 2: It offers insights for speakers, coaches and entrepreneurs, and thanks for showing it, by the way.
• 24:35
Speaker 2: So when people go on Amazon, they can buy it.
• 24:36
Speaker 2: They find it easily.
• 24:38
Speaker 2: How can people leverage these marketing strategies in conjunction with the Doer Method to successfully transition into those new roles?
• 24:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think what it can help you do is learn about how to really gain attention with the doer method to successfully transition into those new roles, yeah.
• 24:49
Speaker 3: So I think what it can help you do is learn about how to really gain attention.
• 24:53
Speaker 3: So, hey, you figured out your purpose and you're following the doer methodology, right.
• 24:59
Speaker 3: So you're taking action on a daily basis, right, you've got that discipline, you're opportunity focused, you're doing all that, you've already eliminated your excuses and you're taking personal responsibility.
• 25:09
Speaker 3: Now you can learn how to actually market yourself effectively and you can utilize some of those strategies so you stand out on social media, because, let's face it, it's easy to get lost with everything going on Absolutely.
• 25:24
Speaker 3: And so that book is going to give you some ideas and strategies on how you can make yourself more unique and how you can really gain people's attention.
• 25:30
Speaker 3: And, just like I said this, better market yourself and marketing.
• 25:35
Speaker 3: All marketing is is telling the world what you do over and over and over, and so that book gives you strategies for doing that.
• 25:42
  Speaker 2: That's fantastic.
• 25:42
Speaker 2: Thank you for sharing that as well.
• 25:44
Speaker 2: So we're getting towards the end of the show here.
• 25:46
Speaker 2: It always goes so dang fast.
• 25:48
  Speaker 3: It does.
• 25:50
Speaker 2: So, as always, I'm going to ask you if there.
• 25:54
Speaker 2: Well, first of all, how do people get a hold of you?
• 25:55
  Speaker 2: That's important.
• 25:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, so one easy way is you can go to MichaelPopeTrainingcom or you can find me on social media at MichaelJPopeJr pretty much everywhere.
• 26:08
Speaker 2: Fantastic and, if you will, if you can put in the comments for people on Facebook and all the social media so they can find you if they're looking to hire you as a coach or just reach out for more information, and I'll let you know.
• 26:21
Speaker 2: Guys, if you are in the coaching industry or thinking about it, presenting, et cetera, this is the guy to help you get off the ground and really with the tech, because your head will spin.
• 26:33
Speaker 2: Oh, I see Michael's putting it up already.
• 26:35
Speaker 2: All right, michael, I can't keep up Slow down.
• 26:37
Speaker 2: The funny thing is, michael Pope, is you know what I have to do back here.
• 26:48
Speaker 3: And you got skills, man, I'm impressed.
• 26:51
  Speaker 2: I'm working it.
• 26:52
Speaker 2: I'm working it, my friend.
• 26:54
Speaker 3: And you've got an amazing assistant.
• 26:56
Speaker 3: I see on the side here, Susan, helping you out.
• 26:59
  Speaker 2: She is.
• 27:00
Speaker 2: She's actually going to be taking over the tech stuff soon, so I can just sit there and focus on you.
• 27:05
Speaker 2: So I'm excited for that.
• 27:06
Speaker 2: Thank you, as always.
• 27:08
Speaker 2: You know, as human beings, our most precious resource is time, right, we don't get it back.
• 27:14
Speaker 2: So you have spent so much time with me making all this happen, so totally hats off.
• 27:20
Speaker 2: Appreciate you, my friend, truly truly.
• 27:23
  Speaker 3: Thank you.
• 27:24
Speaker 3: Thank you for inviting me on your show.
• 27:26
Speaker 3: I definitely appreciate it and, like I mentioned before, it's so great seeing how your show has progressed.
• 27:32
Speaker 3: Thank you, since we talked about it a few months back.
• 27:36
Speaker 2: You know it has only been a couple of months and we're at like episode 36 or 37 already.
• 27:41
Speaker 2: So and I just want to say it's progressing.
• 27:45
Speaker 2: We have a new sign coming, it's just not here yet.
• 27:47
Speaker 2: Can't wait for that.
• 27:48
Speaker 2: Say is progressing, we have a new sign coming, it's just not here yet.
• 27:52
Speaker 2: Can't wait for that, michael, if we can end off here with three tips for veterans and their families to get them further, faster.
• 27:58
Speaker 3: Anything that just comes to mind, all right.
• 28:00
Speaker 3: So first identify what you want.
• 28:01
Speaker 3: That's number one for you and your family.
• 28:04
Speaker 3: Number two would be sit down and really come up with a list of reasons why that's important to you.
• 28:11
Speaker 3: That'll help with that motivation.
• 28:13
Speaker 3: So what do you want?
• 28:14
Speaker 3: Why do you want it?
• 28:15
Speaker 3: And then the third thing would be be a doer in every area of your life.
• 28:20
Speaker 3: Right, develop that discipline, be opportunity focused, eliminate excuses and take personal responsibility in every area of your life love it.
• 28:31
Speaker 2: I absolutely love it.
• 28:32
Speaker 2: Um and I, if you put these into play, reach out later on, reach out to one of us and and again, coaching always helps, you know.
• 28:44
Speaker 2: Get everybody further faster by all means, because they fill, fill the gaps right.
• 28:47
Speaker 2: So I'd love to hear later on how this has helped, how this has helped.
• 28:52
Speaker 2: So, everybody, thank you for being here and we're out of here.
