- 0:00Welcome back to another edition of the Beef River Cool podcast.
- 0:02My name is Rex 45, and tonight, man, we're going to have some
- 0:06fun because it was a crazy race weekend between World Super Bike
- 0:10and Moto GP. Before we dive into it, let's
- 0:14bring in the guests for tonight. TJ, what's going on?
- 0:17Man? Welcome to the show.
- 0:18How you doing, man? Patriots won, so I know you
- 0:20happy. Oh yeah, we're doing good.
- 0:24I mean, it's still early or five and two, but you know, what can
- 0:29I say besides that, racing was a great weekend overall.
- 0:34It's a little bittersweet though, I must say.
- 0:37You know, more America is done now.
- 0:39We're a super bike is done. So it's just Moto GP.
- 0:42We're looking forward to all our champions are crowned, you know,
- 0:47so like it's just now we're looking forward to just see what
- 0:51please riders can put on the show for the last couple of
- 0:54races so. No doubt.
- 0:56Well, I'm looking forward to hearing what you got to say
- 0:57about World Super Bike and Moto GP because I know that it was
- 1:02fun for me to watch. Let's bring in Luis Ortega, the
- 1:06dumbest guy. I mean, I think you were making
- 1:09it rain Louis this weekend. How you doing?
- 1:12I'll tell you what man, all my, a lot of my pigs earned me some
- 1:16cash. You know, I, I went online, I
- 1:23posted a little bit of money here and there, UFC as well as
- 1:27motorcycle racing and and I, I did pretty well this weekend
- 1:30all. Right, That's what's up, man,
- 1:32That's what's up and all is well.
- 1:35Moto GP was entertaining, World Spike was entertaining and you
- 1:38made some cash. So it doesn't get better than
- 1:41that for sure. We got a three P tonight, but
- 1:44we're going to hold it down and have some fun on the show called
- 1:48Be Forever Cool. So fellas, as I can get my my,
- 1:54my, my situation to work, which is unfortunate, but now I think
- 1:59I got it figured out. Look at that technology.
- 2:01Got to love it. I feel bad for AWS because they
- 2:05sure slow down. They down they down you.
- 2:09Know talk about, you know, one point of failure, but not on
- 2:13this show. What's going on fellas?
- 2:16I don't even know where to start because it it, you know, world
- 2:20super bike was huge down to the last race, some controversy in
- 2:25there, a little bit of Rossi ask Mark Marquez in the Super Bowl
- 2:29race a world super bike. So I I don't even know where to
- 2:34begin. But I guess let's bring in there
- 2:36because Top Rock is going to be coming over to Moto GP.
- 2:41What a way to go out. I think Bulgu should
- 2:44automatically go to Moto GP with him because next year I think he
- 2:48might fall asleep in first place.
- 2:51So what are your thoughts TJ on world super bike what top rock
- 2:54has done got a three peat two different manufacturers BMWs
- 2:59looking serious now before you start TJII want to I want to say
- 3:02this because you know I'm sitting here like Rossi's over
- 3:05here winning on a BMW and in in Indianapolis right, and I'm
- 3:10sitting here Moto GBMW wants to come to Moto GP GP.
- 3:14Can we see VR46 on a on a on a BMW Moto GP bike in 2027 or you
- 3:20think they're going to stay with Ducati?
- 3:21Food for thought. What are your thoughts on what
- 3:24top rack did? I mean, before I jump to top
- 3:28rack, I've been saying we need another manufacturing in Moto
- 3:32GPI mean I know some have disappeared for there are
- 3:36reasons, but we need another manufacturing Moto GP stuff that
- 3:39would be pretty cool to have BMW in there.
- 3:42But yeah, top Rat's amazing man to have a Turkish rider just
- 3:48pretty much dominate. You know, we don't really see
- 3:51these type of riders often. And to have a third championship
- 3:56to with BMW with his pretty impressive, you know, not see it
- 4:02often, but just just class acting.
- 4:06Yeah, it's just just just his effort.
- 4:09And she still was breaking with the wheel, the wheel up in the
- 4:15rear and just, I can just imagine just being passed by a
- 4:19rider and then their wheels in the air.
- 4:21I think that'll just I have target fixation and that would
- 4:25just disrupt me, disrupt me a little bit.
- 4:27So, you know, Top Rack has a game plan and it worked to
- 4:31perfection. And I think he probably wanted
- 4:37to put the clean sweep in for this weekend.
- 4:40But Bulliger gave him a little get a little check, you know,
- 4:44just to say, hey, you know, I don't give AF.
- 4:47You know, I'm trying to win this too.
- 4:49So he kind of little backed off a little bit and still make sure
- 4:53you can bring it home because if he let it slip, he probably will
- 4:56let the championship slip to do so.
- 5:00Go ahead. But it was it was great to see,
- 5:02it was overall good weekend performance from Top Rock and
- 5:06and Buluga. No doubt, Louis, what are your
- 5:09thoughts, man? I mean, pretty impressive, you
- 5:13know, Top Rock just had to keep it upright.
- 5:16It was a little controversial that little love tap that Buluga
- 5:20gave Top Rock and and the BMW went down and he went down.
- 5:25You know, we saw Bulliga say that's not how you know, it's
- 5:28not, it's not one of his best race.
- 5:29It's not the way he wants to win, you know, which is the
- 5:33proper thing to say. But watching them all season, I
- 5:36yeah, he's a stand up dude from what I can tell.
- 5:38I don't know him personally, but from what I can tell.
- 5:41What are your thoughts on on what Top Rock did you know 2
- 5:47championships for BMW? Is this enough for BMW to, you
- 5:53know, start to thump their chest a little bit or should they be
- 5:56grateful because, you know, you know, it may be tough in the
- 5:59future? I mean, on the BMW front, I
- 6:02think they should be very grateful that they had the
- 6:04opportunity to work with somebody with the talent like
- 6:06Top Rack for the two years he was there, because there's been
- 6:09a lot of other asses in that BMW and nobody's been able to win a
- 6:14championship. So to win 2 back-to-back on a
- 6:16bike that's never won before, that in itself tells you two
- 6:20things. That BM WS come a long way, but
- 6:22that they got the right rider on the bike because there's been a
- 6:26lot of riders on the BM WS. If you go back to all the years
- 6:29that they've been in World Super Bike, you're talking X Moto GP
- 6:32riders, X Moto GPX, Moto 2 Champions, X125CC Champions,
- 6:37250CC Champions. There's been a lot of riders
- 6:41that have been through the BMW wood chipper and they came out
- 6:47on the other side, beat the fuck up.
- 6:48They didn't come out champions. You know, Marco Melandry, you
- 6:52know, the guy's super talented, Moto GP rider, champion in
- 6:56multiple different classes, everything up.
- 6:58He couldn't get the bite to win on a regular basis.
- 7:00He couldn't bring a championship.
- 7:02Scott Redding, he couldn't bring a championship.
- 7:04I mean, again, it's a long list. BMWs been doing this for more
- 7:08than a few years now. I mean, when they first came
- 7:11out, we kind of made fun of them as like the new generation GSXR
- 7:15because they were cheap. You can get a lot of horsepower
- 7:18and everybody was buying them because you can get insurance
- 7:20really cheap. Because insurance companies
- 7:22didn't realize that BMWs 1000 was actually a sport bike, so
- 7:26they were still insuring it as a sport touring bike.
- 7:29So everybody's getting 1000 because you can get full
- 7:31coverage for a year for like 600 bucks.
- 7:34And then as soon as about 50,000 of those things got total
- 7:37insurance companies like wait a second, this this, this shit
- 7:39ain't no touring bike. And the prices went up on
- 7:43insurance, but I digress. This is a little side ramp from
- 7:49BMW when they first launched to where they're at now.
- 7:52And they are powerhouse. You know, in the leader bike
- 7:55market, they are powerhouse and I'm glad that they finally got
- 7:58this Monica off their back. But again, man, it was with top
- 8:01rack and and he's not a he's not your normal rider.
- 8:06And I don't see anybody else in the paddock that's going to be
- 8:08able to slip into his shoes on a BMW less any other bike and
- 8:12compete with Bulgar because look what Bulgar did this weekend,
- 8:15man, he knew he had to show up and he had to win three races in
- 8:18a row and he put in the work. I mean, that Super Bowl race
- 8:22controversy aside, I mean, he put in the work, man.
- 8:25He won the races he needed to win.
- 8:27He had the Super Bowl, the Super Bowl issue again, man.
- 8:34The way you look at things sometimes, you might say it's
- 8:36dirty. You might say it's this, you
- 8:37might say it's that. I mean, I love to bust on Ducati
- 8:40guys. It's in the owner's manual.
- 8:42If you're losing, fuck everybody else's race up because you're on
- 8:44a Ducati and you can't win. That's that's that's a long time
- 8:49ago kind of talk right there. I don't know man.
- 8:52In this year, a lot of people had a Ducatis were like oh wait,
- 8:55where's that old manual where I since I can't win, let me fuck
- 8:58it up for everybody else. You know, you know, we can't
- 9:02speak for what people do, Ducatis, that's all.
- 9:05I'm just saying, you know, But Buliga.
- 9:11Go ahead, Buliga did Buliga did his part.
- 9:13Even if they didn't have that incident, like Bulaga
- 9:16technically I think would have won all three races, man, even
- 9:19without the incident, like I think he would have won all
- 9:21three races and he would have walked away and and now he's
- 9:25probably kicking himself in the ass because he was like, man,
- 9:27that one incident cost me the championship.
- 9:30I mean, there's a lot of things we were talking about before he
- 9:32lost by 13 points, man, at the end of the day, you know how
- 9:34many DNFS he had because his bike blew up or chain broke or
- 9:38this happened or blah, blah, blah.
- 9:40Like it's not like he was in the Kitty litter all the time.
- 9:43Like most of the times when he didn't finish on the podium or
- 9:46in the top step, it was a mechanical issue or just top
- 9:49rack was on that next level. Right, exactly.
- 9:53I, I, yeah, I was going to bring that up.
- 9:55You know, does the does Ducati, you know, kind of owe Bulaga a
- 10:00little bit of apology because, you know, if, if those things
- 10:07didn't happen, you know, it, it could have been different.
- 10:11And and you know, it's always going to be the very difficult
- 10:14next year for riders, I believe, But we don't know what that
- 10:17before are double sided swing arm is going to do yet.
- 10:21So, you know, I I think they like it.
- 10:23But TJ, what are your thoughts on, you know, you know, Bulgar's
- 10:29misfortune as far as the bike issues as we were talking about
- 10:32off here and stuff like that. You know you got sold to the
- 10:36masses now. Yeah, I mean like every rider, I
- 10:40feel like, you know, I mean mechanical, they they, you know,
- 10:45you have your mistakes, both sides rider and your mechanics.
- 10:50So I mean, I don't know going into everybody wants to be
- 10:55perfect, but I feel like Bulgar was pretty much perfect all
- 10:59season. Like he did what he had to do so
- 11:03that, you know, mechanics I feel like had a few slip ups and
- 11:07there. So I do think as a team, they
- 11:10all owe each other an apology. Like, you know, at the same time
- 11:13they all do it together. So you can't really put full
- 11:16blame on the mechanics for just slipping up in there, you know,
- 11:21for him just losing by 13 points, you know?
- 11:24But at the end of the day, like, it just goes to show like how
- 11:28much you know, you have to be on point with everything going into
- 11:32every race weekend on both sides, you know?
- 11:36Right now, let me and I'll I'll bring Lewis in.
- 11:42Where you at? There you go.
- 11:45What BMW is done because Top Rock had issues in the beginning
- 11:50too. He was coming in there flipping
- 11:51over tables in the beginning of the season as well on the 25
- 11:55bike and stuff like that. From a team perspective, BMW got
- 11:592, Ducati has what they have, they got a gang.
- 12:03As far as World Super Bike, was the team of BMW better or just
- 12:09Top Rock was just able to ride around the problems of the BMW
- 12:13because you know, Ducati, they both they struggled, the team
- 12:17struggled and, and so did BMW, but obviously Top Rock came out
- 12:23with the championship. So what are your thoughts on,
- 12:26you know, the team as far as BMW versus Ducati and, and who was
- 12:30able to recover better? Or is it just, again, like I
- 12:32said, Top Rock just has the better, better feel on a bike
- 12:35regardless of how that bike ride?
- 12:37I think it's definitely Ducati because if you look at, just
- 12:41look at what the standings are, who's number one BMW, who's
- 12:46number 2 Ducati, who's number 3 Ducati, Where is, where is top
- 12:50rack's teammate like #8? Yeah, something like that.
- 12:56He's down there. Yeah, there's a lot of Ducati's
- 12:59between top rack and the next BMW.
- 13:02And not because there's not a lot of BMWs on the grid.
- 13:05It's just top racks able to do something with that bike that
- 13:09other guys haven't been able to do.
- 13:11And it's going to be interesting to see, you know, when these new
- 13:14guys come in to take top racks place and change the team up and
- 13:17this new face that the team's going to have.
- 13:19Let's see where BM WS at next year.
- 13:21You know, I mean, maybe they can get something together and and
- 13:25and still be good. But Ducati overall has the
- 13:28better team and Ducati has overall the better package.
- 13:32And anybody who thinks otherwise is out of their mind.
- 13:35And as far as having a conventional swing arm, that
- 13:38makes Ducati more dangerous, not less dangerous.
- 13:42Because guess what? You know who won like 5 or 6
- 13:45super bike championships between 2000 and 2008 when they had a
- 13:49conventional swing arm? It's an Italian bike.
- 13:53Oh yeah, 999. And 999 cleaned up a lot of
- 13:57people's clock when everybody was like kind of writing off
- 14:00Ducati because they went to this weird looking bike with a
- 14:02conventional swinger. I mean, what happened, man?
- 14:05They started winning championship after championship
- 14:07after championship after championship.
- 14:09Neil Hodgson, Troy Bayless, these guys cleaned up between
- 14:122001 and 2008. So now you're going to put a
- 14:16stronger motor with a better swing arm.
- 14:19It's not a sexier swing arm. Like that's the one thing that
- 14:22pure Ducati guys. Oh, you're losing the single
- 14:25strided swing arm. You're getting the performance.
- 14:28You're getting an incredible performance.
- 14:30A conventional swing arm makes the bike so much more stable.
- 14:34Gives you so much more. Power.
- 14:36I don't know if I'm a fool, Ducati S or whatever, but I do
- 14:39like the the the double sided swing arm.
- 14:41It's sexy. I'm not.
- 14:41Going to lie. Oh man, it's.
- 14:43Sexy it sure. Is you're really sexy, but for
- 14:46for for performance, conventional swing arm is going
- 14:49to help you put that power down a lot better than the single
- 14:53sided swing. Arm right, So do you think that
- 14:56it will move on a little bit? Where else will bike and get
- 14:59into Moto GP? What are what are your thoughts
- 15:01on the celebration? It's tricky when you know, you
- 15:05know, Bulaga won the last three races and and you did your best,
- 15:10but you didn't win the last three years is what you thought
- 15:12on Top Rock celebration? Is it the same when you don't
- 15:15win, but you win the championship?
- 15:17And, and again, you kind of also got to know like, look, if, if,
- 15:20if these things didn't happen for Bulaga, you know, it would
- 15:23have been different too. Yeah, I mean, like, you could
- 15:28just see it in space. Like he wasn't satisfied.
- 15:31I mean, he obviously did the best he can, but Top Rock had to
- 15:37celebrate his championship. So I mean, he put on a little
- 15:41show, which is pretty cool. I mean, at the end of the day,
- 15:44it's for the fans at this point. So it was good for him to put on
- 15:49a nice little Roland burnout and then, you know, a little circle
- 15:54burnout and all that good stuff. I don't know if you have to pay
- 15:57fines for that, but I don't know if it like her Beluga's feelings
- 16:04or anything. But at the same time, he was
- 16:05just celebrating and that had to be done.
- 16:09But you can see it in Beluga's face, like he really had no way
- 16:13to celebrate his at this point. It was for the championship so.
- 16:19I mean, I mean, how you, how you going to top that burnout that
- 16:21top rock did right, you know? You can't top that, you know
- 16:29you. Know you can't top that.
- 16:30What are what are your thoughts Lewis on on the celebration?
- 16:33And, you know, just, you know, I, I, I appreciate the theatrics
- 16:40that these writers put into their celebration and stuff like
- 16:43that, but I think they need the event planner.
- 16:47Yeah, I mean, I don't know exactly where he came up with
- 16:51this celebration. I'm sure somebody likes Marvel
- 16:58movies or something like that. But it was fun.
- 17:01It was funny to to watch it and stuff like that.
- 17:04It just shows a little bit of levity.
- 17:05I mean, the the motorcycle season is a long time with a lot
- 17:08of stress. So if you get a moment at to do
- 17:11something fun or something funny, I mean take the
- 17:13opportunity because there's not too many that come around when
- 17:16you can kind of let off that steam.
- 17:20As far as him celebrating, I mean, if you finish 10th place
- 17:24and you still win the championship, you still win the
- 17:26championship. You get to celebrate because you
- 17:27still put in the work for the entire year.
- 17:30And all right, let's say he tried to win the race and then
- 17:33he crashed. We'd be here talking shit about,
- 17:35Oh is it dumb ass should have just settled for 10th place.
- 17:38Settle for 10th place. Do what you got to do to win the
- 17:41big picture. Don't worry about the little
- 17:43picture because you're in the last race of the year.
- 17:45You don't need to win it. If they tell you look, all you
- 17:47need to do is come in 10th or better.
- 17:50I'll go for 3rd, 4th, 5th. I'll even drop all the way back
- 17:53to 8th if I had to. I don't know if I dropped to
- 17:5510th because now it's getting sketchy, but but you know, I
- 18:01wouldn't, I wouldn't do anything risky.
- 18:03And then after what happened, the Super Bowl race, even that
- 18:06I'm probably was wearing in his mind a little bit, he's like,
- 18:08you know what, let me stay away from this guy because he's
- 18:11riding at a different level. Not that he's doing it
- 18:13intentionally, but it already happened once.
- 18:16If I put myself in that position again, it might happen again.
- 18:18So let me stay away from him. Let me stay away from this other
- 18:21guy that I already know is kind of an idiot.
- 18:24You know, like you're that last race when you're in that
- 18:26position, you're thinking about a lot more than just corner to
- 18:29corner. Like you got to be very
- 18:30strategic and stay away from the people that you know don't meet.
- 18:34You don't, don't, aren't there to help you and might be there
- 18:39to harm you. Right.
- 18:40And you know, he's not going to be there next year.
- 18:43So it is, it is a fitting way. I, I take it back.
- 18:46I, he doesn't need an event planner.
- 18:48I, I realized like at the racetrack, this kind of thing
- 18:51that happened all the time. There's just not on national TV.
- 18:57But no, it was, it was, it's a good way for him.
- 19:00Like I I'd said last week, whether Buluga wins or top
- 19:03ranked wins, I'm happy for both of them.
- 19:05But Bulu got now come into Moto GP as the reigning world super
- 19:09bike champion. At least that puts some kind of
- 19:12up there with like that Ben Spies.
- 19:13Because I think the last guy who actually did this was Ben Spies.
- 19:16Top rack you mean? Well, top rack going to Moto GP.
- 19:19Yeah, it it, it puts him in that rare air with Ben Spies, the
- 19:23last World super bike champion that went to Moto GP.
- 19:27Right and. Ben Spies was able to get a
- 19:29couple of WS. He was, I mean, I, you know, for
- 19:33the for him, I mean, he was staying healthy, right?
- 19:35I mean, that's, that's that's the issue.
- 19:38You know, I think if he, if he was healthier, I was able to
- 19:42stay healthy or recover, I should say better.
- 19:46It would it would have been different.
- 19:47He would, he would have had definitely more wins.
- 19:51What are your thoughts, guys? As far as next season?
- 19:55I think Honda, you know, Honda should have kept Ika, Luku, Ono
- 19:59and Chabi. Because those guys were, they
- 20:02were making progress, they were in it, they could get in the top
- 20:05five. And, and I think, you know,
- 20:07starting with two new riders, not to say that, you know, these
- 20:11guys can't come up to speed very quickly.
- 20:14I don't understand the, the, the, the thinking and what
- 20:18Honda's done. It's great for Ducati.
- 20:21It's great for Yamaha because they got 2 experienced guys as
- 20:24far as in Moto 2, Moto GP and on, on different manufacturers
- 20:30coming over to their team. So, you know, I, I think it's a
- 20:33win win for those manufacturers. But what are your thoughts on
- 20:36what Honda is doing by getting these two new young guys from
- 20:40Moto 2 in Moto GP because some cat was a Moto GP rider?
- 20:46I mean, the expectations must be really high.
- 20:48I mean, hopefully it's about the interior, like inside the
- 20:54paddock as opposed to, you know, putting out on the track because
- 20:58I mean, you, you, I think you always want to keep someone with
- 21:02experience around, you know, so to get rid of 22 riders that are
- 21:09top ten, definitely it's hard to just guarantee that you're going
- 21:14to get 2 new riders just because of their experience.
- 21:17That's just going to get you back on the same point.
- 21:19So I don't know if it was just the camaraderie and interior
- 21:23with like the team where they think these two new riders will
- 21:27be better off as coaching and getting things done.
- 21:31But I don't know, Honda always has something up they sleeve.
- 21:35I'm sure they always can work something out and I think for
- 21:41janitor that it would be much better suit for him going into
- 21:45this situation too. So I'm excited to see what he
- 21:48what he can pull out. I mean, I felt like he was just
- 21:50going into the fire going into the GP and he's having such a
- 21:54Goodyear in Moto 2. So if.
- 21:56I'm Sam Cat. I want to stay in Moto GP.
- 21:58Come on, I don't care. Well, him, him, him finishing
- 22:01last place as Moto GP. No disrespect to Royal Super
- 22:04Bike, but it's still a much better life if you're a Moto GP,
- 22:09right? Real super bike rider.
- 22:12No disrespect to these world super bike riders.
- 22:16Lewis, what are your thoughts? Honda need to, to, to to cut to
- 22:19save some money. I mean, what are we?
- 22:21What are we talking here? No, they wanted to save some
- 22:24money. Like this isn't the way to save
- 22:25money. I mean, they should have kept at
- 22:28least one of the two guys either.
- 22:32If you look at the progression over the last couple of years
- 22:34with the riders that they have now, they've shown incremental
- 22:37increases in their performance, incremental.
- 22:40And now this year they've actually been competitive on
- 22:43more than a few occasions where they've been in the top six, top
- 22:46five. I mean, they're really getting
- 22:48to the front of the pack here. And it's like just as you're
- 22:52getting to the front of the pack, you're going to get rid of
- 22:53your riders. And it's like, yeah, the package
- 22:56might be there, the bike might be there, but it's one or two
- 22:59things. Are they tired of these small
- 23:02incremental gains and they want to find somebody that can do
- 23:05those big leaps that these two other riders couldn't do?
- 23:09Or, you know, is there something with these two riders that
- 23:13didn't gel with the team where they just want to kind of like
- 23:15clean house and start over with some fresh riders and some new
- 23:18ideas? Because again, they're, they're
- 23:20tied to this slow incremental. They they believe they have a
- 23:23package that could do a bigger leap and maybe they've kind of
- 23:27maxed out the potential with the riders that they have.
- 23:29No, man, I mean that doesn't sound right.
- 23:32Because that doesn't sound right when you look on paper who they
- 23:34riders, their app and where they're going.
- 23:36Like they're not going to Moto 3, you know, they're moving on
- 23:39to other bigger factory bikes. Yeah, they didn't go to, no
- 23:42disrespect to BSV, but they didn't go Scott Redding way.
- 23:45Yeah. They didn't get Scott Redding.
- 23:48So again, you know, you never know what's going on behind the
- 23:52scenes. You don't know if it's a money
- 23:53thing, you don't know if it's a management issue.
- 23:55You don't know if it's a personality, personality clash
- 23:58where maybe the riders aren't getting along with the team
- 24:01manager or the director or this that.
- 24:03Whatever the case is, Honda decided this direction we want
- 24:07to go. We want to go with these two
- 24:08guys from this other class. We want to bring them here and
- 24:11we want to give them an opportunity to try to get the
- 24:14Honda street bike back up to the front of the grid.
- 24:17And I hope it works out for Honda.
- 24:19You know, I, I truly do because I do want to see them.
- 24:23I want to see them on the podium on a regular basis again.
- 24:25Man, you know, I'm, I'm a old school Honda guy.
- 24:28One of my first bikes ever was like a brand new Honda.
- 24:31Like my first brand new bike that actually went to a
- 24:34dealership and bought was a Honda.
- 24:36Everything before that was used second hand, third hand, fifth
- 24:40hand, eighth hand sometimes came without keys.
- 24:44I don't know where those came from, but.
- 24:46But hey, got me on the track. But it got me on the track.
- 24:52Before we move on to World Super Bike guys, the WCR concluded as
- 24:59well. Maria Herrera won.
- 25:04Unfortunately Anna Carrasco didn't race this year.
- 25:09What are you guys thoughts on? I don't know how much of that
- 25:11you guys got to catch up on Year 2, the WCR, the championship,
- 25:16what Yamaha is doing with their R7 and this class, you know?
- 25:21What are your thoughts? Yeah, I actually didn't really
- 25:26see much of it this year. I mean, I do feel like when they
- 25:31first started, I think last year, the year before, it was
- 25:35promoting much better and you know, like I was looking forward
- 25:38to it. I kind of like sort of missed
- 25:41out, which was so much racing going on of watching the ladies
- 25:45ride. But for for them to be into it
- 25:48with R7, I think it's still pretty cool, hopefully to
- 25:52continue it. And just looking at Maria here,
- 25:56I set an example, which is with her skill level, it's just it's
- 26:01good for her to, you know, set this this step a stone for this
- 26:06class. So it was good to see her to win
- 26:08the championship. I'm sure it was.
- 26:11I didn't see the race. So I just saw it was a good farm
- 26:14race. But it's good to see that R7
- 26:18running pretty well. OK, that's what's up.
- 26:20No, it is. It's definitely great to see and
- 26:22I hope it continues and I hope some, you know, we get some
- 26:26other names from some of the other classes as far as females
- 26:31to get into the the the class. What are your thoughts, Louis?
- 26:34I know, I know. You want to know what it costs
- 26:37I. Don't want to get cancelled?
- 26:47Rex went black. I know what happened.
- 27:02I mean, I like, I like the idea behind the class of giving
- 27:05younger women the opportunity to kind of work their way into
- 27:08racing and prove themselves on the same tracks where the men
- 27:11are racing. But I'd like to see women from
- 27:14this class move. Over.
- 27:16And race with the men's class because, you know, I understand
- 27:22having this class and having the opportunity to put a woman as a
- 27:24champion. But when Anna Carrasco won her
- 27:29championship in the men's class, like that to me is a
- 27:33championship. Like you beat everybody.
- 27:36You weren't the best of this small group.
- 27:38You were the best of the best of all the group.
- 27:41And you know, I understand that. Again, last year when this first
- 27:45came into effect, they were promoting this so much, they
- 27:47were pushing it so hard. And it was actually really
- 27:50exciting. Like we got some great racing.
- 27:52Like it's really tight racing because when you're racing on
- 27:54these smaller bikes, there's no breakaways.
- 27:56You know, once in a while you get like 2 top riders that might
- 27:59break away, but for the most part it felt almost like Moto 3
- 28:02races where everything stayed pretty close.
- 28:04And in this year it felt the same but they weren't promoting
- 28:08it as much. Like I didn't see he's just just
- 28:10like TJ was saying. Like I didn't see as much
- 28:12promotion this year. I didn't see as much lead up.
- 28:15Like even during the World Super Bike broadcast, like they rarely
- 28:19ever spoke about it. Like it felt like an
- 28:22afterthought this year, whereas last year they really were
- 28:25promoting it the right way. And, you know, I don't want some
- 28:29of the women in this class that do have talent to get mitigated
- 28:33to only this class. Like I want some of these women
- 28:36to get the opportunity to race. Just just racing the class.
- 28:40It's not a man's class. It's just a racing class.
- 28:42You know, the same condition you're in.
- 28:45You know, these men are in the same bike that you're on.
- 28:48These men are on. And, and I don't believe in
- 28:51motorcycle racing maybe at at the Super bike level where you
- 28:54do have to be physically strong to hold on to a 240 plus
- 28:59horsepower motorcycle for 22 laps, but I don't believe that a
- 29:03woman can't get into that condition either.
- 29:06Right. So if you have the skills and
- 29:09you are the championship, you know, this year, why don't you
- 29:14get an opportunity, see if you can get opportunity to race in
- 29:17super sport or even race, you know, in the in the 400 class,
- 29:23you know, take that next step. I don't want this to just be the
- 29:26end of everybody. All these women's careers, you
- 29:29know, like they they have to be able to leap from this to
- 29:32something else. And there's no leap.
- 29:34And in World Super Bike, the FIM Dorna doesn't have that step to
- 29:38take women that are winning in this class and help them get
- 29:41into that next class. This is the same thing we talked
- 29:43about when we're saying there's no Americans in Moto GP or Moto
- 29:462 or Moto 3. So, so do you think that there
- 29:48should be Yeah. I mean, I know you said like,
- 29:51you know, just, you know, they can move up to the men's class,
- 29:54but do you think, you know, there should be, you know,
- 29:57thousand CC bikes option for women as far as moving up or do
- 30:04you think that just? Race the class man.
- 30:07Just race the class because it is the world stage.
- 30:10I mean, outside of going to go outside of that class moving to
- 30:13Moto GP it it doesn't get any bigger than that.
- 30:18Or even some of these women get an opportunity to race in Moto
- 30:202. You know, somewhere, anywhere.
- 30:23Like there has to be a platform where you can elevate from where
- 30:26you're at now to another class. Well, I mean, Anna, Anna's in,
- 30:29in, in world super bike. She was signed to the factory
- 30:32team in the Super sport class this year.
- 30:35So, and we, we've seen her in Moto 3IN in Moto in, in the GP
- 30:41class, but not Moto 2. So I, I, I see what you're
- 30:45saying as far as getting there, but I mean, yeah, I suppose if,
- 30:51if there's a fast enough rider in, in, in the, in the WCR
- 30:55class, I suspect the next option would be super sport and if
- 30:59super sport can transition to Moto 2 and, or world super bike,
- 31:03right? Yeah, I mean, that's the thing
- 31:05for anything you do, you know, in basketball, you're you, you
- 31:09might be in a, you know, a AA or AAA, but there's always a next
- 31:15step to to keep moving your progression along as an athlete.
- 31:18Like do you want to pay AAA for your whole life?
- 31:20You don't want to play AAA for your whole life.
- 31:22You want to keep at least a real athlete wants to keep pushing
- 31:25themselves competing, competing with people that are a little
- 31:28bit better than them, keep pushing their level of play.
- 31:32And the same thing with motorcycle racing.
- 31:34If you end up racing the same 15 women for the next 5 years, this
- 31:38class will be dead because nobody wants to see the same 15
- 31:41people racing each other all the time, right?
- 31:43That's what we have more of America for.
- 31:45Yeah. And, and I do think that would
- 31:46change because, you know, we see the likes of Kayla and and some
- 31:49of these other young ladies. I think that I think that
- 31:53they're the future. Like we see these young, you
- 31:56know, college female players moving into the WNBA now.
- 32:00I mean, I think they are the future.
- 32:02The question is, do they think of it as the WNBA for them or do
- 32:07they think like, OK, as far as Kayla, Kayla's like my I want to
- 32:11go to, I want to go to Motor America World Super Bike, I mean
- 32:13Motor America, the Super bike class and, and not go to the WCR
- 32:17or the same thing in Asia or Australia or some of these other
- 32:20countries where females are racing in middle classes.
- 32:24Yeah, I mean, she's she's got the right mindset because let's
- 32:28say Motor America came out with the ladies racing class.
- 32:32So Kayla will win every single race, hands down, because I
- 32:36don't see any other woman in the US that's on her level right
- 32:39now. It's bill train race.
- 32:42Bill train break and oil up the. Track but that I don't want to.
- 32:45We have to say that class exists because it does so.
- 32:48I guess, but all right, take any of those women for bill train
- 32:54race and put them on AV2. Same exact bike that Kayla has.
- 32:57She wept the she wept the street with them, man.
- 33:00Like she has her her mindset is I don't want to race against a
- 33:06gender. I want to race in a class of
- 33:09bikes. I don't want I don't want to be
- 33:12minimalized or marginalized to only racing women.
- 33:15I'm not here to race women. I'm here to race the best and
- 33:18when I win and I beat somebody, I want to be the best.
- 33:21I don't want to. I don't want because I don't
- 33:22want somebody to come up to me one day and be like, you're the
- 33:25best female rider racing against other females.
- 33:29She just wants to say, hey, you're the best rider, period.
- 33:32So, OK, I see what you're saying.
- 33:34So we need we just need more female writers like Kayla Yeah
- 33:38and then and then the WCR would be would be dope will not let's
- 33:41say it's not dope now, but the level of competition would be
- 33:44higher because we are seeing what she's doing in in in super
- 33:49sport class in motor America. So we we, you know, and I.
- 33:53Don't want these women that are in this class relegated to only
- 33:57being in this class. Like I don't want other teams
- 33:59and other managers and other squads looking at them and not
- 34:02seeing them as an option, a viable option to go to super
- 34:05sport or to go to another class. Because if they can do this in
- 34:08this class, they should get the opportunity to do this in
- 34:11another class. Because guess what?
- 34:13If this was all 15 to 18 year old guys doing this Moto, World
- 34:19Super Bike or World Super Sport teams will be looking at them as
- 34:21a next possible replacement for somebody on my squad.
- 34:24Right. I, I see what you're saying.
- 34:26I yeah, and and, and, and I will move on.
- 34:30But I'll say this, I think once the level of competition as far
- 34:35as the WCR gets to the equivalent, the right.
- 34:38And, and I no disrespect to any of those riders, because I think
- 34:41Maria, Maria and a few of the, the Sanchez and, and a few the
- 34:45top ones, they, they, they're savages.
- 34:48But the, for the, the bulk of the riders, they need to get
- 34:52their level up to where Maria, Kayla, Sanchez and, and, and
- 34:57those likes to, to really, you know, open the doors.
- 35:01Like we see they have opportunities because Maria's
- 35:03been racing in the European Championship, been racing in
- 35:05motor E granting motor E is done at the end this year.
- 35:09But nonetheless, they had this. They had enough skills to to be
- 35:13able to reach further. And, and a class like this at
- 35:16least gives women an opportunity to get to at least strive for
- 35:20that first run. You know, let me reach this
- 35:23first rung. If I can get to this first rung,
- 35:25then I could reach the next rung.
- 35:26Because before, I mean, the rung was kind of put out of their
- 35:30hands. You know, we were only looking
- 35:31for men. We only want men.
- 35:32Now that women have an opportunity to display their
- 35:35skills. Like this is where you display
- 35:38your skills, but this isn't your home.
- 35:40This is just another step. And that's the way you got to
- 35:43look at it. This is another step in my
- 35:45journey to where I really want to end up.
- 35:47OK, I I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I see you.
- 35:50We're going to move from there. Let's get into Moto Gpi agree
- 35:53with you though on that. And and you know, the future
- 35:56looks bright. Speaking of future Raul
- 36:01Fernandez. Send me your money.
- 36:05Who's who's sending money? I think I was rooting for him
- 36:07all year. But I said this weekend, go
- 36:10young. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:14Well, you know, that's, that's a broad general statement there.
- 36:16So we'll give you that. No, I said names.
- 36:20I gave names. I said Acosta, Aldeguer,
- 36:24Fernandez. Yeah, and I think I agreed with
- 36:27that. Those are all names that I
- 36:29believe cuz, you know, and then they've been, you know, we're
- 36:32not, we're not just, you know, flipping a coin.
- 36:35We've been seeing their progression over the whole
- 36:38season. And as we said, you know, Bez
- 36:42had his three lap panel, his two lap penalty mark is out,
- 36:46Martinez out Pedro. I mean, Pedro Peco is
- 36:51struggling. He's you know, he's, he's the
- 36:55dude disguised as the dude playing the dude.
- 36:59It's tough for him right now. And I feel for him because, you
- 37:03know, as races at any level and I haven't, I haven't made it to
- 37:07Moto GP yet. So I, I know what the struggle
- 37:10is like. So it doesn't feel good at any
- 37:11level when you're, when you're a competitive person and you have
- 37:14to go through it. And we got and, and you know,
- 37:17Fernandez has been, was going through it.
- 37:20He struggled and, and, and, you know, Smitty and some of these
- 37:23guys said they shouldn't be, he shouldn't be a Moto GP.
- 37:26And, and so to see Fernandez take advantage of Bazecki's
- 37:33misfortunes, what are your thoughts on that?
- 37:37And you know, also just to how, how pissed is Acosta?
- 37:41Because here's another young dude that got a a Moto GP win
- 37:45before me. Well, I mean, first of all, what
- 37:51Acosta, if you keep putting out that energy, these are results
- 37:54you're going to get. He needs to be more like Pekko,
- 37:58maybe just relaxed and, you know, more thoughtful and the
- 38:05positive, you know, like his past results and how angry he
- 38:10shows is just that's the energy you're going to get.
- 38:14And I don't care. I mean, Raul definitely been
- 38:17putting in his work. He's definitely a good writer.
- 38:21If I don't see him on a podium again for a while, I mean, I'm
- 38:25still satisfied, you know, because just what Apprai's been
- 38:29doing this year, it just proves the show that they have the
- 38:32right writer also where they can still get the results.
- 38:36And it's good to see Track House and American Team finally get AW
- 38:39out there. But it's good to see Raul, you
- 38:44know, stay in front and had the potential to win both races and
- 38:50put hats off to the Zeki. That guy wrote his ass off.
- 38:54I mean, the fact that he could just show that he's better than
- 38:58everybody out there right now is is also a good thing to see.
- 39:04But to see Raul up there was was nice.
- 39:07No doubt what your thoughts, Lewis on how Raul did Dainese.
- 39:12You know it it it's it's it's a good look either way.
- 39:16Bez is on that as well. And who is who is number 2 now?
- 39:19Oh, Acosta. He's he's he's out.
- 39:21He's the other brand. The race port is good.
- 39:25Did you Fernandez, Ambazecki, all shining in their their shiny
- 39:30axial boots. Exactly.
- 39:36Rounded down to nothing because they wore through the soles.
- 39:39You know, it's tough, it's tough, tough life.
- 39:43What are your thoughts on and Fernandez this you know, I, I
- 39:49can only imagine like I was just saying like the struggle of
- 39:52anything in life and to to get something like this and it
- 39:56wasn't yeah, OK, Bez had the, you know, the penalties, but who
- 40:01knows, right? Cuz Raul was riding
- 40:03unbelievable. It's very surprising on one hand
- 40:07to see how he's doing and cuz it's one thing to to take the
- 40:10lead. That's another thing to finish
- 40:11and win. What are your thoughts?
- 40:15Yeah, no, I mean, he did a he did an incredible Sprint race.
- 40:18So it wasn't just a, you know, one off loop.
- 40:20Like he had a really good Sprint race, great result in the Sprint
- 40:23race coming in second. And then Bizecki having those
- 40:27penalties definitely, you know, helped him out.
- 40:29But he still had to, you know, circle the track 20 plus times
- 40:33at the front of the lead and and hold it there.
- 40:36And it's a long way that he's come because we spoke about it.
- 40:41You know, when he came to Moto GP, he came in with a, with a,
- 40:45you know, kind of a little S on his chest, like I'm the next big
- 40:47thing, you know, stand back, here comes Raul Fernandez, blah,
- 40:51blah, blah, blah. And then he just just, you know,
- 40:59struggled, couldn't finish the bike.
- 41:01A lot of crashes, you know, couple of injuries, this and
- 41:04that just couldn't really wrap himself around.
- 41:07It was out of a job, you know, KTM moved on.
- 41:11He was, he was able to pick, get picked up by track house, the
- 41:14American team with no Americans. Yeah, Anyway.
- 41:19We got a trophy though. We got a trophy.
- 41:23Maybe they'll let an American hold it at some point.
- 41:27And then, you know, this year he started out slow again this
- 41:30year, like it took him some time to get adapted to the Aprilia.
- 41:35But all this comes back to what we spoke about before.
- 41:38Is this the fact that Bazecki's been the leading or guiding
- 41:42light at Aprilia? Because if a Martine was the
- 41:45guiding light at Aprilia, how much of the knowledge do you
- 41:49think would trickle down to Bazecki and to the to the other
- 41:53teams? Is it because Bazecki's in that
- 41:56position and he's a little bit less self-conscious about who he
- 41:59is, that more information is trickling down the bites getting
- 42:04developed in a different way? The, you know, Bazecki's riding
- 42:07style is the typical Moto GP riding style.
- 42:10It's not anything unique. Bazecki's not dragging shoulder,
- 42:13you know, like Martine does. Like it's a little bit more of
- 42:16that common riding style, not the over extreme riding style.
- 42:21So they built the bike to help Bazecki, and it just happens to
- 42:25be that that same bike also helps Fernandez.
- 42:28Yeah. Well, overall I think it's
- 42:30helping Aprilia to build a more well balanced bike than try to
- 42:34build a bike specifically to try to make Martine look like a
- 42:36superhero. Yeah.
- 42:39No, I, I think that you're right.
- 42:41And, and, and we were talking about it earlier.
- 42:45It, it has to do it best. And, and I don't think that if,
- 42:48if Martine, Martine was healthy, it might have been a different
- 42:52look for a period this year overall, because there's no
- 42:55guarantee that Martine would have been able to to develop the
- 43:00bike the way it's been developed.
- 43:03And Bez has been on the record to give Valley credit for
- 43:06Valentina Rossi credit for coming into Aprilia and spending
- 43:11Evelyn to help them sort the bike out.
- 43:13So that's pretty impressive where you're the owner of a
- 43:17Ducati team and you know, you got this Friday that you'll
- 43:21sacrifice information for to help get better.
- 43:24So it might have been different. So I, I earlier has, I mean, I
- 43:29think the whole Aprilia squad and I will, I'll throw it to
- 43:31Troy to talk about this a little bit.
- 43:33I think the whole Aprilia squad is different because Martine
- 43:38isn't there and next year is going to be different because
- 43:43how, how, how can he take over that team again?
- 43:45I mean, he never had it because he crashed out, so how can he
- 43:48get it? Well, after what Raul has done
- 43:51and Bez has been doing. I mean, so like, you know, if
- 43:56you, if you look at his like NBA players, like Martinez, like the
- 44:00superstar that gets you, like, you know what you really want
- 44:04you, you want the, the the regular players that that won't
- 44:08complain and get you through and still will want to learn to
- 44:11continue. What I would expect out of
- 44:15Martine if he was a part of theirs for him and Bez doing
- 44:19exactly what Bez is doing. And for them to, you know, as a
- 44:23manufacturer, be top five or top ten and and let it trickle down
- 44:28faster opposed to like Lewis was saying, developing around
- 44:34Martine and him dragging shoulder and him making him look
- 44:37good and then then lose the direction of where he wants to
- 44:41go. So I think that's definitely the
- 44:44perfect example because he's not complaining.
- 44:46He's working hard and he's showing it.
- 44:50And I really think it has to do with also him being competitive
- 44:55and able to follow Mark for a lot of the time that he was out
- 45:00there with Mark. And I think it showed him a lot
- 45:03and what was needed. And since my team was around,
- 45:06he's the only one to really get feedback from and it's all
- 45:08positive. So I think he has a lot to do
- 45:11with everything and it's definitely a better fit.
- 45:15I think he's probably the number one writer, I would say.
- 45:19I, I, I I agree with that. Before we move on, has there
- 45:24been a, has there been a better 2 long lot penalties than what
- 45:29Bez did? The old man, he went fast in a
- 45:36long lap than any of us would go in a normal lap.
- 45:41I was actually worried that he was going to because, you know,
- 45:44if you just clip the line at any point between the entrance of
- 45:47the exit, you got to repeat the whole thing again.
- 45:50And I guess he practiced multiple times throughout the
- 45:52weekend doing this as fast as he could, as fast as he could.
- 45:55And I mean, the man, my man nailed it, man.
- 45:59Like the first long lap, he lost three positions and the second
- 46:03long lap he only lost three positions and still finishing
- 46:06third. I mean, you added approximately
- 46:103 1/2 seconds to your overall lap time and you still finished
- 46:14third. Like that's, that's impressive,
- 46:16man. Yeah, and I wouldn't even say he
- 46:18lost three because he was in first and he fell back.
- 46:23Yeah, he fell back to 3rd and he fell back to six, so he lost 5.
- 46:27Five positions, yeah, so. Yeah.
- 46:32He's moving. What are your thoughts TJ on
- 46:34that man? Pretty impressive.
- 46:37Like I was saying like it's good to see Raul win, but like Pezaki
- 46:42was just showing that he was just better than everyone out
- 46:45there since we didn't have, you know, all the top writers minus
- 46:50Pekko when he was doing, but very impressive, you know, to
- 46:53see someone to to complete double lung like penalties, let
- 46:59alone just one and very cleanly. And I gave it to the the the
- 47:06coaches and all that stuff. So they claim that very well.
- 47:09The timing of it. I think I forget when you have
- 47:14to complete both of them, but at least the person I think you
- 47:16have to complete the is it 3? After three you can start, I
- 47:21thought. It was the five.
- 47:22They don't count the they don't count the first lap, but at the
- 47:26end of the first lap they'll send you the warning to your
- 47:28bike and then you have 5 laps to complete it.
- 47:31But once you start the first one, you can start the first one
- 47:35on the 5th lap, you just have to complete the second one before
- 47:38the 6th lap. Gotcha.
- 47:40So he's, they, they trust me, man, I, I, I, I paid real close
- 47:44attention like they planned this out to perfection.
- 47:47Get out front. You got 5 laps to try to get as
- 47:50big a lead as you can. Burn through as much tire as you
- 47:53have to see if you can get it up to close to 2 seconds, which he
- 47:55did. He got it close to like 2 second
- 47:57lead and then run the first long lap and then go out, run the lap
- 48:02and come and run the second long lap.
- 48:03And by that time the group should be pulled enough apart
- 48:06that you probably end up back in like 7th place and you can work
- 48:10your way back through. Yeah, that's perfect.
- 48:13Pretty, pretty, pretty impressive.
- 48:16I brought it up last week. Yamaha.
- 48:19I mean, Quattro Arrow got pulled, you know, Jack was up
- 48:23there. You know, I, I, I, I, you know,
- 48:27if there was a time to think about getting a tattoo, it might
- 48:30have crossed my mind. And quality.
- 48:32You can do the races. You know, when you're that fast
- 48:38for one lap or a couple of laps or five laps, that that has to
- 48:44be frustrating, right? Because it's like, yo, one lap I
- 48:48can, I'm better than every, every bike out here in Phillip
- 48:51Island on a track that we're the slowest.
- 48:54What are your thoughts on on Yamaha?
- 48:55I mean, you can't feel bad, but you can't necessarily feel good
- 48:59either, right? I mean, like, it's, it's like,
- 49:08you know, like all these polls all year long has shown
- 49:12absolutely nothing. Like, you know, I feel so bad.
- 49:18For some watches. I, I feel bad for Kwara like to
- 49:23to start off 1st and just to just watch riders go by you
- 49:27every turn where you have to be cautious of how you lean in.
- 49:29And it's just disappointing. Like one lap doesn't really it
- 49:36means a lot, but like if if you get pole, you have to like at
- 49:42least get top ten, top five at least.
- 49:45Like and for Jack Miller being at home, I mean, he put on a
- 49:51good show for the most part, but it's just that bike, you know,
- 49:57it's just didn't have anything. And and I don't know if it was
- 50:01the win, if they weren't ready for it.
- 50:04It's just it's just pretty disappointing just to see what
- 50:08they were actually able to show to get the poll but and then not
- 50:13show anything, absolutely anything for the race.
- 50:18So what are your thoughts? Look.
- 50:21Wasn't a good look. Yamaha, I know you still got
- 50:23your R6, so you ain't. I mean, you're not.
- 50:27I mean, we, we, I've mentioned this so many times, man, Yamaha
- 50:31is so good for that one flying lap.
- 50:34They just can't. You can't maintain that pace
- 50:38over race distance. It's impossible to do qualifiers
- 50:41every single lap. And the one thing that I will
- 50:45say, there was a couple of times coming down the straight that I
- 50:47thought that Yamaha was going to get swallowed up and it didn't
- 50:50get swallowed up. The motor was able to, you know,
- 50:52not get beaten. But again, you have to keep this
- 50:55incredible pace that you can't just do without.
- 50:58You can't go an entire race without making a single mistake.
- 51:02Even guys that look like they haven't made a single mistake,
- 51:04they made a ton of mistakes, but they able to cover them because,
- 51:08but with Yamaha, you have to raise at such a high level to
- 51:11get it to run that if you make that one mistake, you're in the
- 51:15Kitty litter. You know, you're in the crash
- 51:17truck, you, you know, in the ambulance, you know, you're
- 51:20anywhere except on the track finishing and and you can't keep
- 51:24going like that, man. You know, Yamaha's gotta, they
- 51:26got to get this V4 to work the right way and they got to put
- 51:30enough power where these guys don't have to ride out of their
- 51:33skin to try to finish a race in the top five, in the top three.
- 51:38I mean, you know, Quadrara can do it.
- 51:40You know, there's no doubt about it.
- 51:41The dude has talent. He just needs a bike that can do
- 51:45it lap after lap without him having to, you know, push
- 51:48himself beyond the limits of reason.
- 51:51You know, Jack Miller was doing great.
- 51:54One mistake. That's it.
- 51:56I know you know that that was a that was, I mean, I, I mean he
- 52:00got fourth in the Sprint. He showed up and looked good.
- 52:04But it is a tough struggle you and you feel for these rider.
- 52:08Is Alec Lorenz back? He's not.
- 52:13He's looking like he's he's kind of back.
- 52:16Sideshow Bob's not back. He's he's, he's in the
- 52:18neighborhood. He's circling the neighborhood.
- 52:22The, the, the, I mean, I would love to see him back at the top
- 52:26because I, I do, I like him as a rider.
- 52:27I think his riding style is so silky smooth and he's just like
- 52:30a, he's got like this old school type of riding style where his
- 52:33body's not super leaned over. He almost looked like he's in
- 52:36the wrong body position, but he makes it work.
- 52:39So I would like to see him back. But you know, he's kind of at
- 52:45that point in his career where, you know, I see him married, I
- 52:48see him with kids. I see this, I see that I see him
- 52:51suffering through a lot of injuries and it's taking longer
- 52:53for him to recover. And, you know, is that Father
- 52:56Time kind of like, you know, tapping on the door was like,
- 52:59look, man, you made your money. You know, you're getting close
- 53:02to the end of this contract. Ride this contract out to the
- 53:05end. And you know.
- 53:06Go home World super bike. World super bike.
- 53:08Let's go. He would at the honestly man, I
- 53:11think he would do really well World Super Bike because his
- 53:13riding style in World Super Bike I think would adapt really
- 53:17easily. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so
- 53:18too. I, I, it's, I mean, you know,
- 53:20he's not the first rider that's been plagued with injuries and
- 53:23have their their career suffer by it.
- 53:26But it's the worst. I mean, it's, it's one thing
- 53:28when you can lay it all out there and somebody's just better
- 53:30than you when your body doesn't work and you know, your mind is
- 53:35sharp. It like, like I feel for that
- 53:37dude because out of all these guys, like I said already in
- 53:40Moto 2, he was killing all these guys in Moto 2.
- 53:44Yep, Yep, he was, he was definitely schooling them all,
- 53:46man. He was, you know, put him to the
- 53:48task and just everything he's done, even in Moto GP, man,
- 53:52thinking about the way he beat people on the Suzuki.
- 53:56Yeah. You know, like.
- 53:57On a Honda. Yeah, like, not just beat him,
- 54:00but like, like, embarrassed him, you know, made the Suzuki take
- 54:04corners. And everybody else is like, yo,
- 54:06why are you over there? That bike shouldn't be there.
- 54:08And he can still put the bike in places where people would never
- 54:11expect. Like he could squeeze the bike
- 54:12on the inside of a of a turn in a space big enough for a credit
- 54:16card next to you. Look inside, show Bob's next to
- 54:18you. Like, yo, how'd you get in
- 54:19there, man? Like, you know, yeah.
- 54:23I mean, I hope. I hope he continues to get
- 54:26better, but again, man, I'm really worried about like, you
- 54:29know, him being the twilight his career and and you know, I don't
- 54:34want to see him get carted away from the sport.
- 54:37I'd rather him leave the sport with his head held high and he
- 54:39did a lot for the sport. He made it.
- 54:41You know, he made an impact. He left his name.
- 54:43He's got his wins and everything else.
- 54:46I don't think on Yamaha he's going to be able to do much
- 54:48because if Quadaro can't do it on a Yamaha, I don't think
- 54:51anybody can on a Yamaha. And even next year when top rat
- 54:54comes to Yamaha, it's going to be a rude awakening.
- 54:56You know, you're not on a great bike.
- 54:59And as great as a rider you are, this is the this is the Creme de
- 55:02la Creme. These are the top 1520 best
- 55:05riders in the world. So it's not like you're going to
- 55:07bring something that none of these guys have never seen.
- 55:10Right. Yeah, No, I agree there.
- 55:11I I think people lose sight of that when they see you in 14th
- 55:15and 15th place. I mean, I'm going to give props
- 55:19to somebody that none of us thought would even do shit this
- 55:21weekend. Paulus, Barbara I.
- 55:22Was just going to bring them up. I'm not going to bring them up
- 55:25literally dude, I was just playing the first wrap up and
- 55:27KTM because he got 10th and I believe 8th, 9th in the Sprint.
- 55:33So you know, and he was in Q2. I mean, this is, this isn't.
- 55:38You can't even say he's a part time writer because he's been
- 55:41mostly doing TV. Yeah, he's an announcer.
- 55:44You know and. Imagine Greg White going out and
- 55:46finishing in 8th. Place.
- 55:48In Super Bike maybe maybe Jason Bridmore, but Greg White pretty.
- 55:54Pretty impressive. What are your thoughts on on
- 55:56what he's done? You know, we've been, we've been
- 56:01loving the power of Ducati. But I mean if KTM can figure out
- 56:05the corner in an entire life it would be hard to beat.
- 56:10Yeah, I mean, it is pretty impressive to see what Paul can
- 56:14do for, you know, just jumping out here occasionally.
- 56:17You know, and the fact that, you know, the last time we've really
- 56:23seen him competitive is when like, he had a big accident and
- 56:27he he basically wasn't the same sense.
- 56:30And then, you know, you know, became a test rider.
- 56:34But it's good to see him come back and be competitive and just
- 56:40put on a show because, like some of these riders need a a weapon,
- 56:44you know, just looking for like, hey, Pole just passed me.
- 56:46Like, I need to get my shit together.
- 56:48But it's also good to see like he's out there trying to improve
- 56:53KTM and their package and and to show like, you know, certain
- 56:58things that can be done. But yeah, for being going to an
- 57:02announcer and then coming out and still being top ten as an
- 57:06accomplishment to himself and is good to see our veteran out
- 57:12there still doing doing it. Right.
- 57:15I will correct you. He's not a test writer.
- 57:17He's still a full time writer. He's just a filling guy.
- 57:22So he's still getting that full time money.
- 57:24OK. Cool, he's mostly testing and
- 57:32and he's waiting for somebody to get hurt and then he'll come in.
- 57:35So that's why you see him in and I and I think he I mean, listen,
- 57:39if you you know it, it's tricky because you know I, I like to
- 57:43race. So I can't sit here and say if
- 57:44you if you offer me the money in in part in part time, I'll
- 57:47probably still want to race, but it's not it's not bad if you can
- 57:50have it. But he he took I mean, I, I
- 57:52think he had to really like KTM enough to sit here and say, hey,
- 57:58I'm not going to try to go somewhere else.
- 58:00I'll fall back and let let let these young guys shine and if
- 58:03you need me, I'll come in because you know more more you
- 58:07know, other people are going to be thinking about themselves and
- 58:10want to ride and stuff like that.
- 58:11And maybe gone to a satellite or because he could have gone to
- 58:13the Ducati satellite teams back when when he left, one of them
- 58:17would have picked him up for sure.
- 58:19What are your thoughts, Louis on on what pole did and should
- 58:24these? I don't want to bring up Ben
- 58:25there but if he can do it like this, why?
- 58:32Why are not the full time riders as far as being on the bike all
- 58:35every every round not doing a better time and and not and
- 58:39struggling because he made it look easy?
- 58:42Yeah, no, in in one of the Spanish interviews that he did,
- 58:45you know, he said that he, he doesn't mind doing this.
- 58:49Like he actually enjoys doing this.
- 58:51You know, if the situation was right and, and there was a
- 58:54factory ride available to him, he would give it a lot of
- 58:57thought about coming back and being a full time rider because
- 58:59he still keeps himself in shape. He still exercises, he still
- 59:03trains on a regular basis. He does everything he needs to
- 59:05do. And obviously the guy's in
- 59:07shape. I mean, he stepped in, was able
- 59:09to finish 9th and 10th against the 22, you know, greatest
- 59:13riders right now in in the world.
- 59:16Yeah, he did better than his brother who just retired and
- 59:18when and and and alleged. Alicia's testing parts for
- 59:22Honda. Man he's lucky to just finish
- 59:24the race without the bike blowing up man.
- 59:26Like at least at least pole is on a legit race bike, you know,
- 59:31like. Like.
- 59:33And it's not A and it, and it's been doing well.
- 59:35Like the KTM has had marginal improvements throughout the
- 59:39year. I mean, one, one place that
- 59:40never has problems is power. You know, everybody says when it
- 59:43comes to power is the fastest bike in the straight line at any
- 59:46bike there is. And again, if they can tweak
- 59:49these couple of things that you know, don't make it as stable on
- 59:52the braking, don't make it as smooth in the turns, don't give
- 59:55it as much grip coming out of the corner and doesn't tear up
- 59:58as much tires. If they can fix 90% of the
- 1:00:01bikes, the other 10% is great. They're making it look easy.
- 1:00:07Though I mean, that's their job, you're supposed to make it look
- 1:00:10easy, but it's not. Do I want to see them back full
- 1:00:14time? Not really.
- 1:00:17Like I, you know, I think he's in the perfect.
- 1:00:20I get paid to ride if I'm not riding, I get paid to
- 1:00:24commentate. I get like, I get paid to do so
- 1:00:27many things. Why am I going to give up one
- 1:00:30check for this other check? I keep all the checks.
- 1:00:33There you go. No, exactly what are your
- 1:00:37thoughts on Honda? I mean, Lucas, Luca Marini, you
- 1:00:43know, I think he's close. I mean, I think if anybody's
- 1:00:45going to get a win on Honda, he might be the guy to do it first.
- 1:00:49I mean, I, I think, I don't know, I think, I think Mia has
- 1:00:53the, the Costa complex, even though Mia's older, they're just
- 1:00:58doing a little bit too much and, and, and it's biting them.
- 1:01:03And you know, and, and as you mentioned, Louis, it only takes
- 1:01:08one mistake to put you down. But Yuzarko crashing hard.
- 1:01:13He's crashing violently. Not even hard.
- 1:01:15He's crashing violently. It's, it's, it's, it's brutal to
- 1:01:22see, But Luca looks good. Mia looks good.
- 1:01:24Mia still crashing. But what are your thoughts on
- 1:01:28Honda and, and, and where they are?
- 1:01:30Because, you know, sometimes you got to go slower to go faster.
- 1:01:35I mean, yeah, Honda's obviously been slowly improving and it's
- 1:01:39been showing. I don't know what it what it is
- 1:01:42with Zarko. Like like he's such a good
- 1:01:45writer, but like he's the one that would will go find to see
- 1:01:51what's wrong while everyone goes watches and just come back and
- 1:01:54tell me, you know, like like he'll go hurt himself to figure
- 1:01:59out the problem. And I don't understand.
- 1:02:02And like mirror like it was given that he is like probably
- 1:02:07going to crash in the weekend. Gastroenteritis or whatever over
- 1:02:12crashing as much as he was crashing because if he wasn't
- 1:02:14crashing he was sick. But Luca has been looking very
- 1:02:19solid ever since he came from that eight hour and and he's
- 1:02:23basically the the focal point on what's what's what's going on
- 1:02:27with Honda. I mean, I feel like they been
- 1:02:32were, or like I heard they were tweaking the engine a little bit
- 1:02:35to get a little more power. So it seemed like the engines
- 1:02:37were blowing up and stuff like that.
- 1:02:40But overall that's like as a rider, like Luca has been the
- 1:02:45best. He's getting solid results.
- 1:02:49But yeah, they're, they're still figuring things out, you know?
- 1:02:54DA Yamaha. I didn't.
- 1:02:55I wasn't trying to blow up that engine, Maverick.
- 1:03:02You know, engines blow, man. Come on.
- 1:03:04What are your thoughts, Lewis? I mean, I think Honda is is the
- 1:03:11next bike to kind of step into that top echelon on a regular
- 1:03:16basis. Zarko started out the year
- 1:03:22looking like he was going to be like the Honda Pilot to beat and
- 1:03:25everything else. And I don't know exactly what
- 1:03:27round it was, but man his suit sponsor must hate him right now
- 1:03:31because they are deep into the repair budget for fixing his
- 1:03:35suits at this point. Man because he is just torn up.
- 1:03:37At least I mean 2020 plus suits. Yeah, whatever round after he
- 1:03:45won. So he won.
- 1:03:46Then he followed the second place and and after the 2nd
- 1:03:49place. That's when he started crashing
- 1:03:51after that. Yeah, man.
- 1:03:52I mean, I don't know what's going on.
- 1:03:54I don't you know, I know that he made a complaint that he's not
- 1:03:57getting all the factory bits that he wanted, but I mean the
- 1:04:02factory is getting plenty bits back.
- 1:04:04He's just bringing it back in a box.
- 1:04:05Use all the bits for your bike because I'm crashing your shit
- 1:04:07every weekend multiple times like it's getting bad, man.
- 1:04:11It's not a you know, it's it's it's it's getting worse every
- 1:04:16single time he goes out instead of getting better.
- 1:04:20So I don't know what happened, you know, what the tweak is or
- 1:04:23something, but he's got a brush all this off and do a reset
- 1:04:27before he really hurts himself. Because I mean, eventually these
- 1:04:30crashes catch up to you. And you know, he's not a young,
- 1:04:33you know, he's not a young Thundercat.
- 1:04:35And it's going to start getting, you know, every morning he's
- 1:04:38waking up, I'm sure he's getting more and more sore and it's
- 1:04:40lasting longer and longer. And even, you know, you don't
- 1:04:43want to take too much Tylenol because then you end up with,
- 1:04:45you know, what is it that you get from Tylenol?
- 1:04:50You can't have babies, Yeah. You can't have babies.
- 1:04:54So, but yeah, man, it's, it's, it's getting wild, man.
- 1:04:58And, and Marini, we've said it a bunch of times, man, ever since
- 1:05:03he crashed at the endurance round, he came back a completely
- 1:05:07new rider, man. He healed up.
- 1:05:09And now instead of being this overly aggressive guy that's
- 1:05:12doing things and maybe pushing that little step, he's almost
- 1:05:15taken in a tempered approach. And that tempered approach is
- 1:05:18letting him slowly progress and see what he can do without again
- 1:05:22putting it in the Kitty litter every weekend.
- 1:05:25Who's boss? He's like I'm listening to the
- 1:05:28bike from now on. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:29You know what? Instead of me telling the bike
- 1:05:30what to do, I'm going to, I'm going to listen to the bike.
- 1:05:33And if it tells me it can't do that, I won't do that.
- 1:05:36I'll do something else because it doesn't like that.
- 1:05:40But look at his results, man. Top ten, top ten, top ten, top
- 1:05:43ten, top ten. Like he's reeling them off now
- 1:05:46on a regular basis and he's really, the way it's going right
- 1:05:49now, he looks like he's going to be that guy that starts getting
- 1:05:52into that top four, top five on a regular basis.
- 1:05:57And going into next year, he might be the the Honda guy on
- 1:05:59the podium on a regular basis. He might be for sure.
- 1:06:02And you know his mistakes, he's still keeping the bike upright.
- 1:06:05He's just losing positions. I, you know, I mean they,
- 1:06:08they're not passing him. He's making a mistake and then
- 1:06:11and then they're getting by. So it's like, you know, you're
- 1:06:14going to have rounds where you make mistakes and you're going
- 1:06:16to have rounds when you don't make mistakes.
- 1:06:18So those rounds are going to come when, when he, when he get,
- 1:06:21he puts it all together. And again, that, that VR46
- 1:06:24Academy is so tight. You know, we're not telling any,
- 1:06:28telling those guys anything they don't already know.
- 1:06:31And, and they get, they're going to figure it out.
- 1:06:33So I'm looking forward to it. We got what, 3 rounds left for
- 1:06:36the end of the season? I don't know how many of them is
- 1:06:40going to have Martine or Marquez or Vinales.
- 1:06:43Marquez is out for the season. He might as well he might as.
- 1:06:47Well, according to Spanish media, he's out for the rest of
- 1:06:51the season. Like he's not coming back this
- 1:06:53year at all. Yeah, it doesn't.
- 1:06:54Why? Why come back?
- 1:06:55Yep. And Martine, he might, the last
- 1:07:01time I checked, he might make it back for the last round of the
- 1:07:05season, but at that point is just to maybe test the bike the
- 1:07:09the Monday after the the season ends.
- 1:07:13But even if he comes back, like what do you really expect
- 1:07:16Martina do when he comes back? He's either going to crash or
- 1:07:20he's not going to finish and he's not going to finish on the
- 1:07:22podium. You know, he just hasn't had the
- 1:07:24time on the bike and I don't know when he's going to have the
- 1:07:27time on the bike. He's he's starting next year way
- 1:07:30behind Bazecki. I mean, Bazecki just spent an
- 1:07:32entire year riding the bike, developing the, I mean, in my
- 1:07:35eyes, he's even behind Fernandez at this point.
- 1:07:38Fernandez has more laps on that bike and more knowledge of the
- 1:07:40bike that he does. And, and we have to keep in
- 1:07:42mind, Fernandez got the latest spec bike at Silverstone and he
- 1:07:47started struggling even more there.
- 1:07:49I know we we about to get out of here, but we haven't really
- 1:07:53mentioned Ducati outside of saying where did Antonio finish?
- 1:07:56That's one. Thing I want to say about
- 1:07:58Ducati. Ducati got the championship and
- 1:08:01I think they have the constructors as well.
- 1:08:05How important is it for Ducati to finish the season strong with
- 1:08:08three rounds left? I mean, we know Mark is not
- 1:08:12racing. I mean, I, you know, even if
- 1:08:15Petco won three the last three rounds, I don't know if it's
- 1:08:20going to change much there, like, but how important is for
- 1:08:23Ducati to be instead of, you know, one out one it, one it
- 1:08:27well, two bikes in the top 6:00. We we used to have in six bikes
- 1:08:32in the top 8. You know, you know, I'm not
- 1:08:35saying it's time to flip over tables yet, but like, we didn't,
- 1:08:40none of us, we didn't expect this from Ducati.
- 1:08:43Full of violent, no, the way things turned out, not.
- 1:08:46At all. I mean, that's the first time
- 1:08:49I've ever seen, you know, the factory.
- 1:08:53Yeah, I I've seen Manuel, like shake his head or be so
- 1:08:57disappointed or walk away. It was it was kind of
- 1:09:00interesting. I mean, he reacts to everything,
- 1:09:03especially like the years back when Pekka was winning and stuff
- 1:09:06like that. So I think it's very important
- 1:09:10for him to finish on a high note.
- 1:09:12More of the fact that if even if they have like a test rider or a
- 1:09:17replacement where they can still as a team be a top ten, you
- 1:09:22know, or or so not just not having their best riders at
- 1:09:28their best, like Pekko and then Mark being out and just fall
- 1:09:32apart. So I think it's very important
- 1:09:34for them to finish the this the rest of the season strong so.
- 1:09:40Yeah, I, I hope so. I agree.
- 1:09:42I mean, it's, you know, Lewis, I mean the numbers that they add
- 1:09:45up. Doing some numbers right now.
- 1:09:49These numbers don't add up I So if this was let's let's rewind
- 1:09:55this. If this was 2024 and Pekko was
- 1:09:59where he's at right now, Pekka would be looking for a job
- 1:10:04because last year Enea Beth Senini lost his job, finished
- 1:10:08the championship with 386 points.
- 1:10:11And I did not agree with that. I probably was protesting. 4th
- 1:10:15place in the championship, 386 points.
- 1:10:20Pekka has three races or three events left.
- 1:10:24He's currently at 274 points, right?
- 1:10:28He's 102 points behind where Bastianini was last year when
- 1:10:33Bastianini lost his seat. I mean, he got them double World
- 1:10:38Championships. That's what's saving them.
- 1:10:39Come on. Yeah.
- 1:10:42In. Motorcycle racing in motorcycle
- 1:10:44racing is the same. What have you done for me
- 1:10:46lately? Well, like I hear you, I hear
- 1:10:49you there, but you know, he, he gets a pass because he he gave
- 1:10:52Ducati there all. Right, so he gets a pass this
- 1:10:55year. Yes, yes.
- 1:10:57Here's your pass. Next year these same results.
- 1:11:00His ass are looking for a job in 27.
- 1:11:02So no, I listen, man. I, I, I, I hope they work it
- 1:11:08out. You know, I've been alright.
- 1:11:09You know, I hope they work it out because I, I think, you
- 1:11:12know, if Petco goes somewhere else, he'll probably do well
- 1:11:17somewhere else. The question is where you going
- 1:11:20to go at the end of 2026 when you're going to start with a
- 1:11:23new? Honda.
- 1:11:25I mean, he could go to Honda, you know, he, no, he could.
- 1:11:27I mean, Lucas there, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:11:29You know. Everybody can't go to Honda.
- 1:11:32Everybody. Back to VR46 VR 46 Honda again.
- 1:11:35You know what I mean. So I I I hope they figure it
- 1:11:37out. For Ducati it's it's distressing
- 1:11:40because last year Ducati was first, second and fourth in the
- 1:11:43championship or first, second, third and 4th in the
- 1:11:45championship, all right. This year that ain't the case,
- 1:11:48man. And, and I don't know if Ducati
- 1:11:52is alarmed by it because they did win the championship.
- 1:11:55And at the end of the day, if you're the champion, you're the
- 1:11:57champion. But this year, their first,
- 1:11:59second and 4th again, they they're missing out on 3rd.
- 1:12:03You know, Aprelia has now snuck into that top three position and
- 1:12:07I don't see Bazecki giving that spot up.
- 1:12:10He's not going to catch Marquez. I mean, it's locked in.
- 1:12:12The two brothers have locked in first and second in the
- 1:12:15championship. No matter what happens from now
- 1:12:17to the end of the year, it's going to be a Marquez 1-2.
- 1:12:21But you know, how far beyond Pekko does Bazecki get at this
- 1:12:25point? Because Pekko is.
- 1:12:27I mean he is just fallen apartment.
- 1:12:29Yeah, yeah, he he it's it's bad. I mean, I'll TJ chime in before
- 1:12:34we we get out of here. But it no, it's bad.
- 1:12:36I mean, he's like he's it's almost I mean, I guess it's
- 1:12:40mental. But the crashes now, I mean like
- 1:12:43if you're in 14 place and you're if you're in last place and
- 1:12:45you're crashing, like what are you watching?
- 1:12:47What are you looking at? Looking at the trash man.
- 1:12:52You know, I mean, just the fact that he's in the back of the
- 1:12:55pack like that far back and then still crashing is more of like
- 1:13:00he's looking for a savior somewhere somehow.
- 1:13:04Or he's trying to like prove like, hey, I'm trying to show
- 1:13:06you all this is what's messed up and you're not listening.
- 1:13:10Like he's not showing. No class act, no effort in my
- 1:13:14eyes. I feel like he can.
- 1:13:17I don't know. I mean he's explaining what's
- 1:13:18going wrong. I feel like he has his glimpse
- 1:13:21here and there. But you got to have more
- 1:13:24dignity. When you say I'm a two time
- 1:13:26champion. Let me give him a all.
- 1:13:28Let me. I mean, you don't want to get
- 1:13:30hurt, but like, let me, I'll say try to go back to the Majello
- 1:13:33days, days when you actually kept up with mark a couple lats
- 1:13:36and and, you know, show that I'll.
- 1:13:39Say this in any sport, if your mind is not in it 100%, you're,
- 1:13:45you're going to be tense and a little bit of tense is not good
- 1:13:49on a rigid bike already. And they they that's that.
- 1:13:52So it it like once you're mentally, if you're riding
- 1:13:55stiff, forget about it. You know what I mean?
- 1:13:58Yeah, when when he went down, like it was kind of strange how
- 1:14:03the Ducati kind of just went down in the corner, like the way
- 1:14:07he lost it. So that's like some questions to
- 1:14:10ask, but it's just still like, you know, just knowing what he's
- 1:14:15capable of. Sometimes you don't get, you
- 1:14:19know, like when you get to that level, it's like you can't give
- 1:14:22any excuses at certain. Points of time, yeah, No, I feel
- 1:14:25that. I'll say this last thing, we'll
- 1:14:26leave it at this Chantra outperform PEKKO in both races.
- 1:14:33Crazy if Chantra beats you that double world title.
- 1:14:37Oh come on, don't do that. It's tarnished, man.
- 1:14:41Come on, come on, come on. I don't, don't do don't do that.
- 1:14:45Let's not listen. But it is, it is, it is pretty
- 1:14:48bad. And you know, and you know, we
- 1:14:52you know, we've seen other writers overcome it.
- 1:14:55We, we, we, we, we all yelled at Didjia.
- 1:14:58And Didjia figured it out. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:15:00We yelled at Raul. Raul is figuring it out, you
- 1:15:03know, and you know, for, for Bagnaya, I mean, he was crashing
- 1:15:07out on a 19 bike and a 18 bike and stuff like that, but he had
- 1:15:10a really good run. And, you know, there's obstacles
- 1:15:13in life, man, and this is one of them.
- 1:15:14And it's, it's tough to watch. I mean, obviously it really is.
- 1:15:18It's tough for him to go through it, but it's definitely tough to
- 1:15:21watch because I, I think there's this much we don't know and I
- 1:15:27don't know. I, I still put a lot of the
- 1:15:30blame on Ducati because they, they'll, they kind of sit
- 1:15:33letting them eat a lot of the crow.
- 1:15:36And and you know, for a guy that brought you 2 titles, a little
- 1:15:40bit more outspoken would be nice and a little less smiling when
- 1:15:43Mark win would be nice. They should they should
- 1:15:47definitely speak up more for Petco, possibly just to take the
- 1:15:50tension off of him, like to protect him a little bit.
- 1:15:53Like I agree with you on that. It's kind of like just because
- 1:15:56he's a two time champ, like he's not doing well.
- 1:16:01The spotlight is on him and Mark, you know, and they're
- 1:16:04battling because they're factory riders and it's hard to take in.
- 1:16:08We're all human and he's taking a lot.
- 1:16:11You know, there's no one else really that can interfere like
- 1:16:14Martinez out and you know there's no one else to take that
- 1:16:18action. It's it's they're not really
- 1:16:20protecting him to. Yeah, I thought, I thought some
- 1:16:23of some of us on the show is brutal.
- 1:16:25The commentators lazy. Yo they, they, it's like yo, he
- 1:16:29owe y'all money. They, they, they must be
- 1:16:32listening to me because they, they let him go.
- 1:16:35Oh. Dude.
- 1:16:37Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he's like watching his
- 1:16:40footage of him crashing and and they commentating about him like
- 1:16:44he's serious, like not before his race, you know what I mean?
- 1:16:47So like, you know. No, they, they, they, they
- 1:16:50definitely, you know, they, they giving it to him.
- 1:16:54It's not an easy one for him. And nobody's letting him off off
- 1:16:56the hook. So it's tough and you know, like
- 1:17:00again, we'll see what happens next year because this year is
- 1:17:02over. Anything else before we get out
- 1:17:04of here guys that you want to say?
- 1:17:08No, no, that's it. Back, back next weekend,
- 1:17:13another, you know, do we have any, any predictions is the last
- 1:17:18thing I would say. Aprilia.
- 1:17:21Aprilia Ducati. Pretty, pretty Ducati.
- 1:17:29Yeah, I mean, I mean, I'll say back to the young boys again.
- 1:17:34I want to see. I mean, I I see Bazeki back up
- 1:17:37there, but it was good to see you pray back-to-back again.
- 1:17:42And yeah, Ducati, it will be boring, but you know, Alex
- 1:17:48Marquez is probably going to be in the mix, so.
- 1:17:52I think it's going to be Aprilia, Ducati, KTMI think
- 1:18:03it'll be a good mix this this next race.
- 1:18:06No, I can see that. I, you know, I, we, we obviously
- 1:18:10we can always go on, but I, I, you know, the different man, the
- 1:18:12last few races at the rounds, the different manufacturers
- 1:18:17mixing it up and stuff like that.
- 1:18:19You know, for all, you know, I didn't have a problem with all
- 1:18:22Ducati was winning. They still look competitive to
- 1:18:25me, but it's nice when you see different colors in the top six
- 1:18:29spots and they're dicing it up. So I hope next round, next
- 1:18:33round, if it's the young boys and they're doing what they're
- 1:18:35doing as they should, it should be fun to watch as well because
- 1:18:39they're definitely taking chances.
- 1:18:42Sounds good man. Sounds good.
- 1:18:44My name is Rex 45. It's the beef of a cool podcast.
- 1:18:47You got TJ with two wheels and coffee.
- 1:18:49You got the real Luis Ortega, the numbers guy.
- 1:18:52Peace. Peace.
- 1:18:54These.
