I am one after Shell, I am Jeff back joined every single week with
0:42
my past, the one only Doctor Trey Franklin. Doctor Trey. Do you
0:46
think you know him? I mean, there's the guy in NXT that calls
0:52
himself him or talk about him, or he's some mother him. Do you
0:55
think you know him him? Uh? Well, I've been to church,
1:00
But do you do you think you know him? I mean, do you
1:03
ever really know him? Stay tuned, folks, universal question, Stay tuned.
1:10
Welcome to this week's edition of sr TU lots to discuss Doctor Trey.
1:14
Let's start it off with NXT No Mercy recap in review was this past Saturday
1:19
from the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Uh the pre show match
1:23
here at Blair Davenport defeating Colonnie Jordan. We did not predict this one.
1:30
Colonie Jordan looked good. Blair continues the uh the storyline with Gigi Dolan.
1:34
They carried over to Tuesday's an XCTV. Anything to say here about the pre
1:38
show match. I didn't know who Colonie Jordan was so good performance from subody
1:45
to who was? But oh I thought it was. It was an okay
1:49
endeavor. Uh. Nothing really outside of the continuing storyline with Blair and gg
1:53
nothing really. It's right Homan out about I do say, I do not
1:59
like the name Klan because you had a C to the end of her name.
2:04
It's kind of gross. Yeah, no, true, yes it is.
2:07
It all sounds like a drink. Hey, she's very impressive. She's
2:09
in the Breakout Tournament. I'm a fan of Klonnie Jordan. If you've not
2:14
had a chance to check her out in the ring, there is a lot
2:16
of upside there. Onto the main show, Baron Corben defeats braun Breaker.
2:21
We both had broun Breaker again the victory. This is a good physical match.
2:23
Braun Breaker is definitely getting better in the ring, and I liked how
2:27
they have been booking braun as someone who could come back for being slammed on
2:30
a car or throw an announced table. The interference of mister Stelle makes sense.
2:34
It helped cost Breaker the loss, which didn't affect Braun's character negativity at
2:37
all, and Baron Corman got a nice win. Your thoughts here, Corbyn
2:40
defeats Breaker. It reminds me a little bit when Goldberg was a heel for
2:46
that little bit time, and not in a bad way. Just even in
2:49
a loss, he can still look like a legitimate monster slash badass. So
2:53
it's good for Braun. It's good for Baron to get a win kind of,
2:58
you know, at least give him a shot when people see him in
3:01
a match, like, give him a little bit of credibility that he actually
3:05
wins something. So I thought it was pretty good for both guys, and
3:07
once again tied into tight end with the von Wagner stuff. So I'm also
3:13
still confused. I don't know who's supposed to be rooting for in all these
3:15
fair it is, yeah, two heels, And I felt the same way
3:17
on Tuesday's NXT when Baron Klebern was still acting like a jackass, as was
3:23
bron Breaker. It's like, how do the fans cheer on a heel versus
3:25
heel? Match, and Vaughn is also a heel, so there's a street
3:30
heel. He's been more of a babyface lately, he has been. He's
3:32
been accepting the fan base with his with his storyline, with his medical condition
3:38
upbringing, but he's been more of the babyface. I hope Braun and Vaughn
3:44
become a tag team at some point, just because the rhyming of it would
3:46
be so much fun. Yeah, that would be cool. It would be
3:49
like an eighties or early nineties tag team. Trick Williams defeats Dirty Domsteria to
3:54
win the NX North American champion with a Dirty Dom getting the victory. Surprising
3:58
result of Dirty Dom dropping NX North American Championship to Trick Williams, who was
4:02
originally not supposed to be in this match, but the change was made after
4:04
Mustafa Ali the original opponent match was shocking the release. I was happy for
4:09
Trick, who had some good momentum as of late and his in ring competitiveness
4:14
has really improved. However, as we learned, he dropped the championship on
4:17
Tuesdays NXC to Dirty Dom. Your thoughts on the NXC No Mercy match as
4:23
well as the matter took place on Tuesdays NXC Doctor Try. I was happy
4:27
for Trick, but I don't like the hot shotting of the title. It's
4:30
almost like they they did it just to give him a little bit of credibility,
4:34
because really, for the majority of his running XST Trick has not looked
4:40
great. And it gave a little credence to the reports that they were making
4:44
Rea the official leader of Judgment Day. So you know, I was happy
4:48
for me that regard, but then it's around and take the belt right back
4:51
off. I almost feel like this is just they were like, hey,
4:54
we had Mustafa book to win, so let's go with that and then we'll
4:58
just figure it out after this. It was a good match and really enjoyable.
5:01
It was, and I popped really hard for a way to when Trick
5:04
won. But to turn around to take the belt right back off them,
5:06
I thought was kind of U was kind of low. Yeah, it was
5:10
interesting and interesting and peculiar move by by NX Creative. It makes you think
5:15
if there if this adds to the Carmelo Trick storyline. I don't know.
5:19
It's strange if they're concerned about ratings with Tuesday's aw NXC head to head.
5:25
I don't know. Strange move there. The D'Angelo family defeats OTM, the
5:29
Creed Brothers in Amberta Career, and Angel Guards in a fatal four way match
5:32
to retain the NXC Tag Team Championship. We both had the di Angelo family
5:35
winning a good fatal four way match. Not sure I feel about the injury
5:40
angle from Tony d though the finish also came out of nowhere, as there
5:43
was little bill or acknowledgment of their finisher for the win. The d' angelo
5:46
family retains Doctor Trey. Yeah, I thought it was okay, but you
5:50
know, like you rustling points there, I'm still trying to figure out what
5:54
out the mud means. Were they pigs in a past life? I don't.
6:00
I don't really get it, but I'm sure at some point they'll do
6:03
it. Vig Yet explained a little bit more. But uh, I saw
6:06
those guys, they're they're big dudes, Like they're way bigger than I thought
6:11
they were. So, you know, it just kind of led some more
6:14
depth to the tag ting division. But seeing the di' angelo family come out
6:17
on top just give them a little more credibility as well. So I thought
6:20
it was Okay, just the finish was odd. That injury angle. We've
6:24
been there, kind of done that. I hope it's I hope it's not
6:27
legit because I like Tony D. But you know, if it is storyline,
6:31
why because Tony D has been in jail and injured and everything else.
6:36
Like it is two years at NXC. Next match is no Am Dar defeating
6:41
Butch to retaining NXC Heritage Cup. We both at Butcherkin and the victory.
6:44
I like the concept of the Heritage Cup and the British rounds rule matches,
6:46
but I'm not sure how it's playing out in front of the live crowd.
6:48
The last several times they've done these matches, it's been met with the response.
6:54
With that said, this match was good to know. I'm Dar has
6:57
been fantastic. So it's coming back to NXC and the United States earlier that
7:00
year. Obviously, we we got to see Butch stick around a little bit
7:03
longer as he and Tyler Bait did take on Gallas on Tuesday's NXT, who
7:06
interfered in this match. No Mdar retains the NX Heritage Cup. Doctor try.
7:12
Yeah. It reminds me of when Impact had their their their Championship there
7:17
there was that that weird title they had kind yeah talking about they had judges
7:23
and everything. Yeah, and you would have like Lastly and McIntyre in a
7:27
match and the crowd just be like, we don't know what's going on,
7:30
and you and I talked about this back way x UK was going on that
7:34
although the in ring work is fantastic, it is kind of a scoring mentality
7:39
as well. It's just kind of like it's just, you know, it's
7:43
hard to have a consistent match when you have breaks. It's weird. It's
7:47
it's hard to build up that anxiety over what's going to happen next. So
7:51
it's I think the I think every time there's a pinfall or that, the
7:56
crowd loses a little bit of interest in a way. So it's a just
8:00
of your I know, friends of mine from the UK loved the concept because
8:03
it's very very old school and traditional and they're in their realm. But for
8:07
Americans, we typically don't like adjustments unless you're gonna give us some more crashes
8:13
basically, So uh, it's just it's I think people just have to get
8:16
used to it, because I mean, really the titles liman feature on NXC
8:20
television on the in the States now for about nine months, so it's not
8:24
even a year old in the eyes of the w B famous next match here
8:28
is Elily dragon Off defeating Carmelo Hayes to win the NXC Championsip Eyed Elia Doctor
8:31
Trade Carmelo. Great physical match. I thought this was the right move because
8:35
Ely is a main event player in NXT and could not afford another loss for
8:39
the title. It also adds to Carmelo and not being able to win without
8:41
Trick and leave Bakersfield without the championship while Trick had a title of his own
8:46
previously. I would love to see Carmelo Elia three happen in the near future,
8:50
and the rivalry slast matches reminds me of the Black and Gold era of
8:54
NXC. Really enjoyable match here, Doctor Trey Eliot Dragonoff is your new NXC
8:58
champion. Ilia Dragonov is so polarizing to me because I love Ilia Dragonov.
9:05
But in my head I'm like, it's great for Este, but then is
9:09
he a main car main event guy? I mean he is like one hundred
9:13
and eighty pounds. He's like the Russian Darby Allen in a lot of ways.
9:16
So uh the match himself, that was fantastic. I really enjoyed it.
9:20
I love, like I said, I love watching Ilia wrestle because everything
9:24
he does has intensity and purpose. Carmelo's just so smooth. There's a nice
9:28
contract contrast and styles and if they have matched three, I'm all for it.
9:33
I just long term, does Ilia like to me, the NXT nx
9:39
T should be helping build your main event stars, like the NFC Championship should
9:43
be a priest cursor to being a main event star on Raw or SmackDown.
9:46
And I don't know if Ilia is a main event kind of guy for Raw
9:50
or SmackDown. Yeah, I don't know either. I have been an Ilia
9:56
fan for some time and I thought this was the right move, and they're
10:01
given the opportunity with the ball to run with it. So he's the new
10:03
NXC champ. We will see where things go from here with the Mad Dragon
10:07
of NXT. Then the main event here, Becky Lynch defeats Tiffany Stratton in
10:11
an extreme rules match to retain the NXC Women's Championship. I had Becky Lynch
10:16
Doctor Trey at Tiffany Stratton a good match. Stratton continues to take big leaps
10:20
forward in her inring abilities. I would have liked to see some more physicality,
10:22
violence, toughness from Tiffany Stratton, like a llah Randy Orton from his
10:28
match with Cactus Jack back in two thousand and three two thousand and four Backlash
10:33
when he was breaking out, but it was still a solid performance. Becky
10:35
is really helping Tiffany elevate her game, and Tiffany is delivering great match Doctor
10:41
Trey Becky Lynch wins. Yeah. Sometimes I watch these matches and you go,
10:45
wait, she hasn't been great against other people. Now she's wrestling like
10:48
a legitimate main event star. Is she getting better or is the star carrier
10:54
this one? I actually went, oh, she's actually getting better, so
10:58
she's actually stepping her game up. I am still a little bit confused about
11:03
the result, Like, what's the upside of keeping Becky as NFT champion unless
11:09
he was trying to help her, unless she's just trying to help build everybody
11:11
up and being But if she's still on the road with Raw, it's not
11:16
like she gets the AEW or Impact schedule where she gets to kind of just
11:20
stay home after the shows. To me, this is also like let's say
11:24
we're like, Okay, Tiffany needs back up. You know, Tiffany needs
11:28
some you know, some some stooges, so to speak, and in her
11:33
ranks, because when you have a match like this, this is the perfect
11:37
opportunity for the heel to get the win and not damage a babyface. And
11:41
they didn't pull the trigger, So good work by the ladies. Just a
11:45
little confused by the booking results because this was the chance to kind of take
11:48
the belts off of Becky, put it back on Tiffany, and give Tiffany
11:52
legitimacy by saying, Hey, I'm the one who beat Becky Lynch, which
11:56
nobody else on that roster could say. Addiction record, I went three and
12:01
three, Doctor Trade, one and five. Coming out of this pay per
12:03
view, I was nineteen thirty five Doctor Trey eighty five and forty event rating
12:09
and match of the night. I gave NXC no Mercy a solid three point
12:13
six. My match of the night was Carmela Hayes and Eely dragonoff Doctor Treyer.
12:16
What say you yeah? How was there a three point four? I
12:18
thought it was a solid show. Still, like just you know, the
12:22
Tony d thing was weird. I'm so a little confused by the trick Williams
12:26
win. It was just kind of like it was an odd booking show for
12:30
me. So maybe that's why I'm a little bit more down on it.
12:31
But my match of the night was Ilia and Carmelo. Just those guys have
12:35
great chemistry. It's kind of watching Drago and Apollo Creed fight, just without
12:41
the death. I like that. That's a good comparison. It's a really
12:43
good rivalry and they have really good matches. And again, like I said
12:46
earlier on, it reminds me a lot of that black and Gold era of
12:50
NXT where you want to see more from these two. Yeah, next night,
12:54
aw Russell Dream Recap review Past Sunday from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle,
12:58
Washing. There was one, two, three, four pre show zero
13:03
hour matches that we did not preview. Originally we did not predict either,
13:07
So I'll just quickly mention them here, Doctor Trey, and if there's any
13:11
that stood out to you that you want to cover, when I get done
13:15
quickly recapping the results, we can talk about it because I have maybe one
13:20
or two matches i'd bring up here. Sotoshi Kaji McKeith Lee Athena and Billy
13:24
Starks defeated Shane Taylor, Lee Mariotti, Mercedes Martinez and Diamante. In an
13:28
eight person tag team match, Claudieu Casignoli defeated Josh Barnett, Lucasaurus defeated Nick
13:33
Wayne and the Acclaimed, and Billy Gunn defeated Shane Hast, Mikey Nichols and
13:39
Bad Due Tito of the Mighty O'Neil TMDK to retain the aw World Trios Championship.
13:45
Any of those pre show matches you wanted to bring up here and discuss
13:48
anything that stood out to you, Doctor Try all right, an eight person
13:50
interjender match is god awful. Don't ever do it again. It just the
13:54
flow, It just doesn't flow. The six man's hag. I really enjoyed
14:00
that match. I forgot how entertaining Shane Thorne or Shane which is yes,
14:09
I just forget how entertaining he was, Like, yeah, he can be
14:11
kind of charismatic and and goofy at times. And I forgot how good TMDK
14:16
is when they're attacked. Me adding big bad dude Teeter that makes it was
14:20
really cool. I haven't seen them in such a I mean, god,
14:24
this is what the early days of Black and Gold when they were a tag
14:26
teams and see them together at wrestled Dream was pretty cool. And then the
14:31
Lucasaurs Nick Wayne stuff is pretty interesting giving how the ending of the show went.
14:35
So those are the kind of things that might takeaways. Yeah, I
14:39
guess the one match that you did not cover there in your little recap is
14:43
I thought Claudia cast and only Josh Barnett was an extremely fun chain wrestling match.
14:46
I would go out of your way. If you haven't, go out
14:48
of your way and watch that one. If you enjoyed chain wrestling, check
14:52
how Claudia and Josh Barnett. But the pre show matches, it's it's now
14:56
an hour and a half pre show for aw show. I mean it's it's
15:01
basically a dynamite it's taking place nowadays where you have like that many matches taking
15:05
place before the show. Crazy thing for me was I had never seen Josh
15:09
Barnett wrestle. Yeah, I hadn't either, and I enjoyed it. Yeah,
15:13
And I had heard he was really good, and then you got Moxley
15:15
on commentary putting him over and everything else. Like I thought that was actually
15:18
the most enjoyable match on the pre show. It's just one of these was
15:20
like, it was just a really good wrestling match, and with all the
15:24
other things going on, it just you just kind of go, oh,
15:26
yeah, it was a really good match. Just that one was weird.
15:30
This thing was weird, and this was weird. But that was a really
15:31
good match. Yeah, I agree, that was a really good match on
15:35
main card. Here, MJF representing better than You Bebey defeats the Righteous Vincent
15:39
and Dutch to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship in a two to one
15:43
one handicap match. We both had better than you beabey A getting the victory
15:48
entertaining match. I hate to see this loss come at the expense of an
15:50
actual tag team with high upside and the Righteous, but I feel like this
15:54
payoff for the whole current MGF storyline will be worth it. I do find
15:56
salce and knowing that Ossie Open loss last month at all and got rewarded a
16:00
month later with an aw tag team champion match later in that same night,
16:06
entertaining match doc to trace MJFF wins retains. Yeah, it was entertaining for
16:11
the shenanigans in the match, like the matchic stuff. I'm like, I
16:15
mean really there were points in the match where MJF Wight It's at John Cena
16:19
mode. It was like super MJF. Maybe since I was I'm just a
16:26
big fan of Dutch and Vincent in the Righteous. I just think those guys
16:29
are are really talented guys. I just hate seeing a legitimate tag team lose
16:33
in a two on one handicap match. And then just you know, I
16:37
don't know, the body slam bit the head of the ass thing was kind
16:40
of funny, but it's just I don't know, I would have wanted to
16:42
finish, to be even more sneaky, like have him escape and he actually
16:48
kind of I don't say, one clean, but one decisively. So that's
16:51
maybe that's my only thing. Because especially I love MJF. He is only
16:55
like five foot eight, so it's just like he's a little guy doing Super
16:59
Senior, which is a little weird to me. Yeah, it was.
17:02
It's it's sports entertaining, right, Yeah, yeah, it was entertaining,
17:07
but on a like you know, the aw preaches like on how their high
17:11
quality of matches, but then they'll have the entertainment aspect too. It's like,
17:14
Okay, are you wrestling or are you entertainment because MJF is entertainment and
17:18
then the rest of the show is kind of wrestling. So I think there's
17:22
a good I think there could be a good mix of that. To be
17:23
honest, I thought this was a good way to open up the show with
17:27
what they're doing. I just don't like seeing at the hands of an actual
17:30
tag team. Yeah, they don't portray themselves as an entertainment company. They
17:34
portray themselves as a wrestling company. So that's the dichotomy with it is like,
17:38
Okay, jf's entertainment. It's funny because your top stars either entertaining guys
17:44
or guys that came from the wrestling entertainment company. Well, you can make
17:48
case they began with entertainment, ended with entertainment. There you go. Next
17:52
match here, Eddie Kingston defeats Kati Orshabauta to retain the ROH World Championship and
17:56
njp W Strong open Weight Championship. We both had Eddie Kingks again the victory
18:00
solid Japanese style match fun watch between Kanks and Shabbata great win. Telpailled Eddie
18:06
as the ROH World Champion. Kingston retains Actor Trey Yeah, and on was
18:10
the end. I had not seen Shebata other than on tape of seeing Sabata
18:14
in the ring. I know he's wrestling aw That's why he's a pure champion
18:17
everything. I just somehow always missed him. Very various any match, very
18:21
very hard hitting match. And it was also kid of the launch of how
18:26
many abdominal stretch octopus holds can we get in one card in one night.
18:32
The next match is Chris Statlander defeating Julia Hart to retain the AWTBS Championship.
18:37
We both had stat Lard again the victory. Stat Lander and Hart put on
18:40
a great match. I said last week when we were previewing this, how
18:42
much Julia Hart has improved in the ring, and it shows as I feel
18:45
like she is breaking out right now. Julia Hart may also have the best
18:48
top rope moonsalt in all of wrestling. Fun match here, Doctor Trey Statler
18:52
Lander retains. Yeah. I watched this match, and I don't know if
18:59
I do. I compare young wrestlers to other wrestlers, and Julia Hart I
19:04
compared to Alexa Bliss because of the gymnastics background and similar build and similar skill
19:10
set, and then Statlanders just is coming off more and more rear Ripley issue
19:15
in a lot of ways, and so much as match and like this is
19:18
actually pretty good and pretty compelly. The only thing I didn't like, like
19:21
I thought the match was really great for an aw women's match, is they
19:26
kept typing up Julia's twenty eight match win streak, and also the fact that
19:30
stat Lander has been the person who's beating her the last several times. I
19:33
just kind of thought Julie would get maybe a little bit more offense and and
19:37
get a maybe a couple more near falls. It seem like the time that
19:41
she had the most offense was when they were on the floor fighting. So
19:44
that was my only takeaway from it. Like I just said, always Julie
19:47
had a little bit more offense to kind of create that threat. But for
19:51
a women's match with two very young women's wrestlers, was really really good.
19:56
Yeah, it was a fun one. It was a really fun one.
19:59
And it's not a match that I figured would be on my radar as a
20:02
match that would surprised me, and it did. Statlander and Julie Hart was
20:04
a lot of a lot of fun. Next match was the Young Bucks defeated
20:07
the Guns Luca Brothers and Orange Cassidy and Hook in a four way tag team
20:11
match to win a future AW World Tag Team CHAMPIONI match. I had Orange,
20:15
Cassidy and Hook, Doctor Trey had the Guns. Good match. I
20:18
just think it would have been nice to see another tag team not named the
20:21
Young Bucks in in an AW Tach Team Championship match. But it looks like
20:23
AW wants up another FTR Bucks match again soon, Doctor Tray the Bucks are
20:27
the NORM one contenders again. Yeah, I mean this was a fun match,
20:33
you know, got I mean, other than the Ray Phoenix injury,
20:36
Like, it was really really, you know, pretty irritating. I'm a
20:38
huge Guns fan, like those guys have I have won may over. I
20:41
mean, they are literally trying to be all four members all like all five
20:45
members of d X at one time. So I gotta get those guys credit.
20:49
But I mean me, I would have held off on, you know,
20:52
setting up Bucks FTR four maybe a little bit longer out the Guns still
20:59
have unfinished business with him. You could have gone loot your bros as well,
21:03
But I mean I can't really go wrong with FTR and the Bucks just
21:07
because everybody's continue to watch because they know that it's gonna be a damn good
21:10
match. Next match is Swerve Strickland defeating Hangman Adam Page. I had Swerved
21:15
had Hangman, great match. I've been so happy for the building success of
21:18
Sturve Strickland since coming over to AW. He has put on some size,
21:22
his in ring remains great, and he has one of the most compelling characters
21:25
on AW television. This was by far the biggest win of his career thus
21:29
far, and I'm really looking forward to see how AW Cree have capitalized on
21:33
this win for Swerve. Swerve Strickland defeats the Hangman. If you had told
21:37
me a year ago that Swerve strictly would be a bigger star in AW than
21:41
Keith Lee, I would have said, you're nuts. But that's where we're
21:42
at right now. Like Swarve, this was a fantastic match and had me
21:48
into it. I loved the contrast in Hangman kind of having to play the
21:52
heel because they're here in Seattle, Prince Nana as have fun watching him dance
21:57
the entire the entire match and everything else. Just a fantastic match. And
22:03
then just the elevation of Swerve just shows how much faith they have in him
22:06
right now, because you don't give victories or a former aw world champion very
22:10
often if you're kind of the quote unquote mid card guy, and Swerve got
22:15
it done. So kudos those guys. It was. It was a damn
22:17
damn good match. We did not predict the next one here is Ricky Starks
22:21
defeats Wheeler. You'd it was announced. I believe on collision, good match.
22:25
Ricky Starks remains on fire. I do love the Big Bill Ricky Starks
22:27
pairing as it reminds me of an HBK Diesel pairing. Ricky Stark's work wins
22:33
again Doctor Trey and defeats Wheeler Da so as Stark's a heel again ers you
22:38
a baby face because I'm still confused on what Blackpool Combat Club is, so
22:45
I think they're back as babyfaces. I can understand the confusion though, yes,
22:48
okay, because there wasn't. It wasn't really because even in the backstage
22:52
segment you had kind of come came off as a dick. So it's still
22:56
a little confusing, but uh, really good match. I love Moxley.
23:00
Moxley on commentary. Saved Youda in this match because he kept saying like,
23:03
hey, this is Youa's first pay per view match as singles match. I
23:07
don't care if he wins or loses. It's all about building him up for
23:10
five years from now. So it was a way of Moxley saving the character
23:15
of Wheeler DA in a losing effort to Ricky Starks and I like Ricky,
23:22
but I think he's got to put on a little bit more size. He's
23:23
got to get on the Sward Strickland die. He's got to put on about
23:26
twenty four pounds of muscle to do. It'll be a main eventor I actually
23:29
have a note about Moxley on commentary For the next match, here is Brian
23:32
Daniel Danielson defeats Zach Saber Junior. We both had Danielson get in the victory
23:37
here. It was a technical wrestling masterpiece that was expected between these two greats
23:41
and they delivered. I hope Dragons ZSJ do it again sometimes soon. Sidebar
23:45
and this entire thing. Moxley surprisingly great on commentary for both Starks and DA
23:51
and Danielson ZSJ. But this match was phenomenal. Doctor Treys. Danielson defeats
23:56
ZSJ. I have a note on commentary for this one as well, But
24:00
yeah, fantastic match. It was everything I thought it would be. I
24:03
love Zach Saber Junior's blonde hair. I don't know that's a recent thing or
24:10
fairly since he left his last stable there. It's it's like he went to
24:15
the Cody Roads. He went to the barbershop and said give me the Cody
24:19
Roads and that's what they were like, Okay, yeah, we can tell
24:22
you do that. So and I love the pairy with TMDK because I'm a
24:26
big fan of those guys. So over like fantastic match. Commentary wise,
24:30
if you're listening to commentary, is are they setting up Nigel to potentially get
24:37
back in during with Brian Dangleson, Nigel has been pushing that he wants one
24:41
more match with Danielson, and he's been pushing that a lot on commentary.
24:45
I would imagine it's happening because according to reports and I think his own like
24:49
Instagram, Nigel is training to become a wrestler again at the very least,
24:55
or to wrestle at the very least put him put him as the mouthpiece for
24:59
TMDK eight, you know, like that at the very least on me.
25:02
Well, if they're there regularly, right, Yeah, so if they're gonna
25:06
be around, put Nigel with them or let you know, if Will Ospray's
25:08
with Don Kallis slide Ozzie open over them as well and just put them all
25:11
together, like all the all the Australians and British go to Nigel. That
25:15
should be the rule. And I could literally if you just took ex Caliber
25:19
out of the broadcast move of that one, I could literally just listen to
25:22
Nigel and John Moxley go back and forth. They were great. It was
25:26
good. It was really freaking good. Yeah, commentary on this entire show
25:32
overall, outside of Taz screw some stuff up and Nigel calling them on it
25:36
which actually made it entertaining. H was really really good the entire night.
25:40
So yeah, no, they they were great. I love the aw commentary
25:44
teams because they sound like they're having like a lot of fun. Like they
25:47
always cracked me up. The Taz Shavanni excliber one always cracks me up.
25:52
I just think it's it's very hard to do because they keep changing out people.
25:56
Yes, you know, your rotate Savanni, Tazz and Jay Are.
26:00
It's not easy to get in a rhythm and for that going on, those
26:03
guys did a fantastic job. I mean it made leonary for what five and
26:07
a half hours, So yes, yes, it was Yeah. The don
26:11
Colls family, Kenoso Get Takeshka Samy of Arnwell, Osprey defeat Christ Jericho and
26:15
the Golden Lead of Kenny Omegan Cooto Obushi in a trios match. We both
26:18
had the don Kal's family winning. This match is really good until the finish
26:23
when it took forever for the interference spots, only for Don Cows to roll
26:27
out of the ring in eyesight of the ref and Osprey being able to hold
26:32
off Coda and Omega while Takeshka was doing nothing to preserve the pin to the
26:37
very slow three count, which is typically a reserve for injured refs, which
26:41
Aubrey was not for the end, ninety five percent of this match was great.
26:45
The final five percent was not. Don Kalle's Family wins. Doctor Trey.
26:51
You know, for all the time a couple of weeks ago about the
26:52
the Mockley Phoenix missed three count spot, Aubrey Edwards is the worst referee in
26:57
aw WHOA, she's she's got awful like she like the rep's job is to
27:06
not be noticeable, and she is. In every match she does something,
27:11
whether it's like in this match, the kicking the with the when they're doing
27:15
the four way stretch on the abdominal stretch with the Don Couch family and she
27:19
runs in to kick the arm and then all that stuff. She's always noticeable,
27:23
like she's just not good. I mean, the at least the women
27:26
in it WW the two Feopble reference they have there don't typically get involved.
27:33
So but this match that he said, I love, this match I thought
27:36
was really good, really, you know, top notch, but yeah,
27:40
the finishes weird and I literally, as will Osprey is holding two grown men
27:45
with one arm each from getting into the ring, I went, well,
27:48
I did tell Jeff about four years ago, if will Osprey put on about
27:51
thirty pounds of muscle, he'd be a main event guy. And will Osprey's
27:55
just showing off. They put on thirty pounds of muscle. Takeshka. Man,
27:59
he's he's he can be so good, but he's still green. And
28:02
you see it in a couple of spots in that match where right there Ospra
28:06
has to cover for him not being there to hold a leg or you know,
28:10
the finish, when he's just kind of hunched over in the corner waiting
28:15
for something to happen, waiting for Cal's interfere. It's just like, you
28:18
know, he's gonna be a he's gonna be a huge star. The guy's
28:22
gonna be a potential. You know, if he goes back to New Japan,
28:25
he'll be a new Japan heavyweight champion. But right now he's still a
28:27
little raw, and when you got everybody else in there, it kind of
28:30
shows out. But sorry, the matter with me was saman Gavar. Saman
28:33
Gavar is having so much fun fighting Chris Jericho, Like you just feel how
28:37
much joy he was having. It's a shame he got apparently concussed during that
28:40
match, but even celebrating wise, you couldn't sell he was concussed because he
28:44
was still making jokes and everything else. So just top match match is a
28:48
little clunky on the finish. Next rat year was FTR defeating Ossi Open and
28:52
retaining aw World Tag Team Championship. Both an FTR again the victory great tag
28:56
match. I thought This was a statement match for OSSI Open to the American
28:59
audience at they are a great tag team, as they seem to lead most
29:02
of the match and looked poised to beat FTR. I've got your performance from
29:06
Mark Davis of OSSI Open battleing through with a broken wrist. The super Shadow
29:10
machine was a cool spot FTR retain over OSSI Open Doctor Try Yeah, but
29:14
then they just did a super shadow machine during the Young Bucks match. Did
29:17
they do that all in? Probably? Yeah, I'm pretty sure they did
29:19
it all in because I think you're right yeap, So here's a cool spot,
29:23
Like I love the match, but then when it came to the fish,
29:26
I'm like, wait, did I just kind of see this match it
29:30
all in? Like it was almost copy and paste for a lot of a
29:33
lot of the spots for FTR Ozie Open look great, which tells me that
29:37
FTR is very a very giving tag team that they'll whoever they're the ring with,
29:41
they're gonna make them look like stars. So great perforce for Ossie Open.
29:45
I hope you know, Mark Davis gets back soon because it just sucks
29:49
we have a breakout match and then you break your wrists because then you might
29:52
get shows the pretty deadly syndrome, you know, like you're getting a push
29:56
and then one guy gets injured and then you're just off TV for a while.
29:59
So up an FDR when they were back in wa Yeah. So but
30:03
for those guys, I mean, it was a great match. I just
30:04
to me once again, like it's Aussie Open doing FTR shadow Regine. Well,
30:10
we just saw that the Young Bucks match. There's a lot of the
30:11
similarity between this match and the Young Bucks match. But that match was fantastic.
30:15
So if you're on copy something that's fantastic, it's probably gonna be fantastic
30:19
again. So there you go. Next match was Christian Cage defeating Darby Allen
30:23
in a two out of three falls match to retain the aw t NT Championship.
30:27
We both had Christian Cage getting the victory. Very entertaining, compelling match.
30:32
The falls made a ton of sense that they and they played to each
30:33
wrestaureran on how they were executed, from Darby using the turtleneck to outsmart Christian,
30:38
to Christian's count out victory, and then finally Nick Wayne turning on Darby
30:42
for the final three. It was an all around great match and the finish
30:45
of Adam Edge Copeland making his AW debut was really well executed, but more
30:51
on him on a bit in a bit here, doctor Trey, your thoughts
30:53
here. Christian Cage defeats Darby to retain you forget sometimes how good Christian Cage
30:59
can beat her right match, and I'm like, man, like, this
31:03
is so much of his time in WW mix with what he wants in you
31:07
in a ring like typical traditional wretches. The wrestling matches don't get the turtle
31:12
deck spots, you know, but it made sense in this avenue. You
31:17
know, you don't get that. The brutality of those moves on the steps.
31:21
I'm like, like, dark, I swear to guy like Christian was
31:23
gonna do that soup plexit, went this might kill Darby, let me go
31:26
do it on the floor, and then the weird body slam on it.
31:30
I was like, that's him protecting Darby and not taking us their wrists.
31:33
Like this match was was really really good. The Nick Wayne turned I think,
31:40
I like I saw it, I kind of saw it coming, but
31:45
I'm kind of over Nick Wayne's mom. I don't know what it is,
31:48
Like this just too of her in that match, like she had more screen
31:52
time than almost anybody else in that match. Just seemed like I was like,
31:56
somebody just loves that blondheaded woman over there in the corner. Okay,
32:00
but you know it made sense for the finish. You saw her being upset
32:02
with Nick turning on her and turning on Derby and siding with Christian Cage.
32:07
I'll tink right now, I'm stealing the Patriarch gimmick. I don't know if
32:10
that's gonna be his actual nickname that Nigel gave him to that metch, but
32:13
if not, I'm taking it. I will I will call myself the patriarch
32:16
and the daddy of every wrestling company I work for ever in the future again.
32:20
So I'm totally stealing that. But just a really really good, fun,
32:23
entertaining match real quick, before we give Masha the Knight an event rate
32:28
and recap pay for reprediction record. Just want to add this because I don't
32:30
know how else we're gonna address this, but Doctor Trey missed opportunity by aw
32:35
not addressing why Nick Wayne did what he did on Wednesday's Dynamite. I think
32:38
so a little bit like they should have done the little like Cage in the
32:43
ring Nick within there explaining what he did. Give a little more. I
32:46
mean, I know on commentary they try to explain it how like Darby trained
32:50
at his dad's school and Nick grew up watching Derby in there, and they
32:54
tried to allude to, you know, Christian being the father figure now for
33:00
Nick with him not having one. I know they try to cover, but
33:02
it'd be nice to hear from the horse's mouth and give a little more depth,
33:07
even if it's just Christian doing it for him. You know, to
33:13
me, this is really reminiscent of you know, I think I told you
33:15
off air like last week about this where I kind of felt like Nick would
33:20
turn because Christian Cageon needed a new jungle boy. You know, you need
33:23
that young guy to kind of mold into your own image. And by god,
33:28
Nick Wayne could fit the Christian character to a t if this is the
33:32
career path he wants to go. Hopefully, they addressed it on Rampage or
33:36
Collision, so they still have a lot of programming to do this, but
33:38
they did not immediately address it. On Wednesday, Dynamite paperbreew prediction record for
33:44
a W. Russell Dream I went eight and one Doctor Tree went seven to
33:46
two. Coming out of this pay per view, I'm at ninety eight thirty
33:50
six Doc to Train ninety two and forty two Match of the night in event
33:53
rating, I gave Wrussell Dream a four point one, very very enjoyable show,
33:58
and I gave my Match the Night to Danielson and Zach Saber Junior.
34:01
I was at a four point too. This is actually my one of my
34:05
more favorite AW papers. There really wasn't a outside of the pre show.
34:08
There really wasn't a clunker match on here. And maybe it's because almost every
34:14
single match featured a former ww guy leading the match in some way outside But
34:20
my match of the night, my surprise you. I gave it to Swerve
34:22
and Adam Page, Like, I just really loved that match, and and
34:27
can we get all the Adams onto one tag team and just call him like
34:30
the Adam Smashers or you know, the three man Adams or something of that
34:35
coming in. Whether there's Cole Copeland Page, Am I missing any of the
34:37
other Adams, Ali, Alex Abrahontes, Yeah he's not. He's not an
34:45
Adam though, but we just Adam because he's an Alex. Oh, okay,
34:49
just changed his name to Adam Adam Abrahontes after this, there's a lot
34:54
of there's a lot of Adams in this company right now, and Alex Marvaz
34:59
Ah yeah, and then or you do Brian Cage and Christian Cage. True.
35:01
True. If this was WWA, they would not be liking this right
35:06
now. So there you go. Actually that fits, Doctor Tray. This
35:09
was your highest rated AW show so far this year. Sometimes I pay attention
35:15
to what we do here. Here you go, Yeah, highest rated awshow.
35:17
It was a very, very solid, good show from all Elite Wrestling
35:22
this past Sunday night. The big news coming out of the show, Doctor
35:27
Trey was the debut of Adam Edge Copeland. We talked about this a couple
35:32
of weeks back after Adam Copeland, It's gonna be weird saying this now had
35:39
his final match in w again Seamous on SmackDown, celebrating twenty five years.
35:44
There's a lot of rumors in reports suggesting that he was on his way to
35:49
awwfelt he was on his way to AWAW felt he was on his way to
35:52
AW. We discussed it at the time. We were not in favor of
35:57
the idea. We felt that Adam Copeland was a guy edge needed to stay
36:01
in wa well with one appearance and then watching the post media scrum, the
36:10
post show media scrum, reading a couple of interviews he's done, watching some
36:15
more videos exclusives, and reading his tweets. This was the right move for
36:22
Adam Copeland. I am not a person who is a tribalistic fan of wrestling
36:28
where I'm on team WE I hate AW, or I'm on team AW and
36:31
I hate WE. I like both companies equally. I do think that there
36:37
are some wrestlers that are just AW stars and WE stars, and they should
36:42
have remained with those companies. I did think that Adam Copeland was one of
36:45
those people. I am wrong. You hear what he had to say.
36:50
He has nothing but amblicable and nice things to say about his time in WE.
36:53
He felt that he and w WE had outgrown one another creatively, that
37:00
AW spoke to him more, and it gave him an opportunity to wrestle with
37:06
his friends and be with people that he has never wrestled with. Have a
37:08
blank canvas and whenever you hear Adam Colplan speak like it's legitimate, it's authentic,
37:15
and it's just rejuvenating to hear, because you don't hear many people say
37:20
that, and his radiation on the screen of how exciting it was was that
37:24
he was really really spoke to me as a fan, and you can't do
37:29
nothing more than just be excited and happy for him, Doctor Trey. And
37:34
I mean, I think I've always kind of underappreciated Edge as a whole.
37:38
I've never been a huge Edge guy, But the more I've seen him over
37:43
these last couple of years, you really start to appreciate him, especially being
37:46
the fact that he was away for almost ten years. I'm super excited for
37:51
him, Doctor Trey. I think this was a great pickup for AW.
37:54
It is a pickup that can fill the void of what CM punk was potentially
38:01
supposed to do with AW and and b uh somebody that can can be a
38:07
leader in a locker room and be a sounding board for the company and also
38:13
represented proudly on television each week. This, to me, is is the
38:16
perfect move for both AW and Adam Copeland. Adam Copeland is all elite doctor
38:22
try Yeah, So like from an AW perspective, it's a great move.
38:27
It immediately fills the CM punk boy and you're filling it with somebody who I
38:31
have never heard anybody really say a bad word about Edge. No, it
38:36
all my years of wrestling, you know, and fandom and then being in
38:38
the business a little bit like, No, he's ever had a bad word
38:42
to say. I mean literally, like there are other there Edge and Christian's
38:46
best other best friend of sind body who comes to Rocket City quite frequently,
38:51
and I mean, you've never heard a bad thing about those guys. Edge
38:54
is the consummate professional, Like he understands you don't Burnbridge hell, you know,
39:00
when he's sixty five, he may want that WW Legends deal. So
39:04
you don't say anything bad. You don't say anything bad about the burn Bridges.
39:08
From a personal aspect for Adam Copeland, it's a great move. Like
39:12
we just said, Christian Cage is like, you know, lifelong best friend
39:16
FTR are his best friends. Uh. Like I was laughing about it as
39:22
I watched the show, because you know, you and I were talking about
39:23
like CMFTR when Pug was I'm like, okay, cool. Now we get
39:27
rated FTR or ft rated R, like we get some kind of combination of
39:30
that. That'll be fun. Yeah, getting to work with Jericho and Omega,
39:35
all these guys that, all these Canadians you know that he's either been
39:39
friends with, been into business with, or helped kind of mold, you
39:44
know, is great for him. I'm not entirely sold on AW bookings,
39:49
so I always say this, I'm cautious. This is one of our great
39:51
catchphrases here. I'm cautiously optimistic about how they book edge in AW. Like
39:58
some of the people have come over WWE that we were super excited about,
40:01
thought they'd get a great opportunity, have kind of fallen by the wayside,
40:05
and then we get other people that shine. I'm causually optimistic that he'll get
40:09
a great push, that he'll get a great run. God knows, there's
40:15
seventy five titles in AW, so he'll probably have one within three weeks.
40:20
But from a personal level, which is what wrestling really does come down to,
40:23
this is the best move for him personally, for his career and for
40:28
the next you know, like he said, for eight twelve years, for
40:34
as long as he wants to be wrestling, this is the best spot for
40:36
him. I'm with you. I thought the same thing there. It's creatively
40:40
with AW. It can be hit or missed sometimes they are hitting on all
40:45
strides and it's a lot of fun, and then there's times where it's like,
40:46
man, they've kind of forgotten about this angle in the storyline. I
40:51
guess the saving grace here, Doctor Trey is and correct me if I'm wrong
40:53
if you feel otherwise. When it comes to AW Creative right now, he
40:58
is injecting himself into to what is, in my opinion, probably the number
41:04
one best storyline in AW right now with Christian Cage, which is or as
41:07
Nick Wayne Darby Alenstin whoever like this is to me, I think this is
41:12
some of the best stuff they're doing. I think it has surpassed the MJF
41:15
Adam Cole stuff because of Adam Cole's injury. But I would say that the
41:21
saving grace here is, while I agree with you on the AW Creative Edge,
41:23
is entering into maybe the best creative storyline in all lead wrestling right now.
41:30
Uh. I will say, yes, the Adamical injury dampened the better
41:36
than You Babe storyline. I think we're for guys like you and me.
41:40
The interjecting himself into the Cage derby Nick Wayne storyline is great because we have
41:47
history like you know, if Edge and Christian Cage are working together, it's
41:52
going to be good because they've got twenty years of proof that it'll be good
41:57
and it'll be entertaining. I mean, hell, we can go back.
42:00
I can. Is the Edge Christian show still around that we can watch on
42:02
Peacock, you know, I think it is. That is such an underrated,
42:06
amazing show on the network. But just the fact that you can go
42:09
see their comedic timing and how well everybody else played off of them and went
42:15
along with their stuff, and Edge lends instant credibility to any storyline if he
42:20
goes to two. Like if if MGVIND walked out and said, hey,
42:23
I got somebody to night to help me since Adam Cole's out and Edge had
42:28
come out to be mjf's partner in that match against the Righteous and interjected himself
42:32
into the storyline with MGF and Adam Cole. You and I've been like,
42:36
oh my god, that's it, Adam Adam Copeland, mgf's a dream match,
42:38
Adam Copland, Adam Cole, that's a dream match. We probably would
42:43
have felt very similar, but the fact that it's Adam Copeland and Christian Cage,
42:47
you get that extra layer of credibility built onto it to even hype it
42:52
up even more. I thought there was an interesting point made by Edge resa
42:57
they had outgrown one another he and w w WA. Do you do you
43:00
agree with that? Because when you look back at the creative for Edge,
43:06
since he's come back right, very intermittent here and there, comes off like
43:12
a part time star because he was booked that way and his contract, I'm
43:15
guessing was that way at a certain amount of dates, and then he wants
43:20
to go to aw and work a full time schedule, which is kind of
43:22
strange because it's like, okay to them, why didn't you do that?
43:24
In w WA? Is he right? Do you think did he and w
43:30
WE outgrow one another? Because I feel like they kind of have taken him
43:35
for granted ever since Wrestle Many thirty eight or Wrestle at thirty nine closed out
43:39
back in his match of the Hell of Sell match with with Finn Ball,
43:43
or maybe they knew he was on his way out. I just felt like
43:45
it was it was a weird ending and maybe weird creative for some time with
43:49
Edge. I think on one hand, they looked at it and went,
43:52
we've had ed and Rowan reigns. We've had Edge and seth Rawlins, We've
43:58
had Edge and Finn Balor, We've had Edge and Randy Orton. There maybe
44:02
in their minds there wasn't enough people deserving of the EDGE rub, so to
44:08
speak. And we've seen this with We saw it with Page, we saw
44:13
with Daniel Bryan. With the people who are coming back from like long term
44:16
injuries, they don't put them on a full time schedule. They do put
44:21
them on a part time or not at all type schedule, and then when
44:23
they go to AW, they wrestle way more frequently. So I think Edge's
44:30
limited usage in WW is more health related and the W doctor is kind of
44:36
airing on the side of safety. I guess I don't want to say safety
44:39
beause that makes it sound like AW is not safe, but let's wear and
44:44
tear and kind of kind of like in the NBA where Lebron will take four
44:49
nights off to come back and play a big game, you know on the
44:52
weekend, you know you want to save him for the playoffs. I kind
44:55
of feel like W did that with Edge, where they were saving him for
44:59
the big sp and using even those roles where AW can look at and go,
45:04
Hey, we can put you on Dynamite Collision. If you want to
45:07
be on Rampage, We'll put you on Rampage. Hell if we stop another
45:09
YouTube show, we'll put you on there. Like they're going to maximize on
45:14
the value that Adam Copeland brings. Where WB has so much value built in,
45:19
they don't need an Adam Copeland where I think AW given the cmpunk situation,
45:25
desperately needed a guy of Adam Copeland's name value to bring in. So
45:30
will this be successful? Doctor Trey right, that's stand all be all here?
45:35
Is this going to be a successful new relationship for both Adam Copeland and
45:40
Ali Rustling? I think it is. I love this move, to be
45:44
honest with you. I think it's a great move also just and like we
45:46
talked about earlier. To me, it's the professionalism and the mindset that Adam
45:53
Copeland has where everybody that roster's gonna love the guy. Like like I said,
45:59
you never heard anybody say a bad thing about Adam Copeland in all that
46:04
time in WWE, where he can come in and he can fit in with
46:09
anybody on this rostery He's got you know, for all the X we guys.
46:14
He's got store backstorylines built in for all the young guys. It's similar
46:17
to what they were going to see him punk. You know, he can
46:21
fit across all the boards. And the other thing is he's another great recruiter.
46:24
We heard about Cody recruiting and Jade Cargill. You know, if if
46:28
somebody's contracts up a WW and you get a call from Edge, who was
46:32
just there, why would you not pick up that phone call and listen?
46:36
So this is kind of like, I don't want to say it's it's reminiscent
46:38
of the Monday Night Wars, but it's a little bit tipped for Ted.
46:40
Hey, we took Cody and Jade. You guys took you know, Brian
46:45
and Uh and Edge from us. They took they took a lot from w
46:49
to be honest, that's true. Adam Coles, Oh yeah, I mean
46:54
you can run down the list, but I mean it's a great I mean
46:58
to counter I mean the most too recent ones have been you know, Jade
47:01
and Cody. This is a great counter for Jade and Cody. I was
47:06
recently just thinking about that. We'll get to preview and w fast line preview
47:08
predictions. Hem romentarily. I was just thinking recently, like I was watching
47:14
Dynamite and it was that opening segment with with Renee, Omega, Jericho and
47:20
Edge, and I'm sitting there and I'm like, and I thought this the
47:23
night before too, when I was listening to Nigel on commentary. There are
47:28
so many people that w we have let walk that are so talented and it
47:31
makes you really scratch your head because I'm listening to Nigel do commentary and I'm
47:36
thinking to myself like why why was he just you know, why wasn't he
47:42
elevated for NXC when it was him Mari, ernardlo And and Beth Phoenix like
47:45
that was a really good commentary team, even Percy Percy Watson, Like why
47:50
was he relegated to I think like two of five Live at the end and
47:54
maybe it was a little bit of NXC level up? Why was this guy
47:58
on Ron SmackDown? He's so good? Renee backstage, It's like, why
48:01
why isn't she working the microphone in raw or smack Down or hosting the show
48:07
for w A. All these talented stars, Danielson, Adam Cole, Edge,
48:13
like all these guys like what why, why would you leave w or
48:16
why would w WE let you leave? But I think all those people have
48:21
made the right career decisions by going all lead wrestling, And it just made
48:24
me like scratching my head a little bit. I had just like this moment
48:28
of clarity on Sunday for a little bit and then watching the show on Wednesday's
48:30
time, and I'm like, there are so many talented people that w was
48:34
like, all right, we're ready to move on from you that have been
48:37
so much more successful now in all lea wrestling. Swarre Strickland is another one,
48:40
Like what Swarve Strickland has been one of my favorite wrestlers this year's He's
48:45
on the rise. There's so much upside there, Like why why couldn't w
48:49
W figure this out? I don't know, just a weird, weird little
48:52
thought that went through my head. Doctor Trey Well as I've been watching AW
48:55
last couple of days, but I was like, man, WW really fun
49:00
up with some of these guys and girls. It to me is a little
49:02
bit of a you're a Northeastern guy. It's a little bit of Bill Belichick
49:07
mentality. In w W they'd rather let a guy leave too early than too
49:10
late. I'm also a Packers fan, so I'm used to that, I
49:15
know, but it's a little bit of like, hey, you know,
49:17
do we hang on to these guys and basically milk them for everything they have?
49:22
And we've seen them do that back in the nineties and they kind of
49:24
backfired. And I think Vince and you know the other higher ups have just
49:30
been conditioned to, hey, we're you know, let's keep building on the
49:34
future, keep building in the future, and then it ends up happening.
49:37
If you get a show, you're like, crap, we got to bring
49:38
in a Sena or a Lessner or somebody like that, just because maybe the
49:43
our younger guys don't have the name value. But you know, with aw
49:46
once again, it's a much You also look at the travel schedule for some
49:50
of the stuff with some of these older guys, like, you know,
49:52
could they keep up working three hundred and twenty or three hundred days of year
49:55
and actually I think he's probably down about two fifty, but eight w works
50:00
one hundred and twenty. You know, it's still a you know, half
50:04
the schedule for this, you're roughly the same amount of pay. You know,
50:07
if you're an older guy, why wouldn't you make the jump. And
50:10
for all the successes that they these guys have had, you know, we
50:13
mentioned I mentioned the b show. Keith Lee's on the pre show. You
50:16
know, this is a guy that you and I like. This Gid was
50:20
a guy that was punching Roman Reigns in the face at Survivor series just a
50:22
couple of years ago. And we all have to be a ban event star.
50:25
And he's on the pre show of AW had an inter gender eight man
50:29
tag match. No Mirror on this show, No Malachi Black on the show,
50:32
now Idelo on this show. So for all the successes we've had,
50:37
we've also seen it, you know, like Robert Strong's in a great storyline,
50:42
but Bobby Fish is already out of the company, you know, like
50:45
and Kyler Riley's been hurt for the last year, it seems like. So
50:50
for all the great successes, there are still some people that can't find their
50:53
way. So I think W takes educated bets on what's somebody will do,
51:00
and that is up to those guys to either follow through and increase their value
51:05
or kind of spread water and fall by the wayside. Threw that W was
51:09
right about them. Yeah, it's strange. Yeah, there are some opposite
51:14
are some downs, even like Tony Storm recently, I saw her on television
51:16
like Matt highly entertaining, but maybe they need a company like AW do unlock
51:21
that creativity. It's strange. It makes you think a little bit. Some
51:24
people do really well on the landscape, some people do really well in the
51:28
AW landscape. Some people do really well in both landscapes. I fully expect
51:31
that Adam Edge Copeland will do very well in All Lead Wrestling. It's a
51:35
great signing, it's a great move. I'm very excited for Adam Copeland and
51:38
really look forward to see this run in All Lead wrestling. Let's wrap up
51:43
this week's edition of the show with the w W Fastlane preview predictions. It
51:45
comes to us this Saturday from the game Bridget Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
51:50
First match here is the Judgment Day Finn Balor and Damian Preese defending the Undisputed
51:54
Tag Team Championship against Cody Rhodes and Jay Usso I've got the Judgment Day retaining
51:59
on this one, Doctor Trey, what say you? Yeah, I've got
52:01
the Judgment Day retaining to set up the Survivor Series match we talked about a
52:05
couple weeks ago. But wait, do you only have five matches? I
52:08
only have five matches? Yeah, okay, I looked it up. I
52:12
was like, I only see five matches in the show. So going from
52:14
a five and a half hour pay per views to some basically you do in
52:16
an hour and a half if you really wanted. That's one thing here.
52:20
Let's take a quick pause. Aw, if they're doing twelve shows a year
52:23
or more, they have got to lower the time on these cards. It's
52:28
it's way too fucking long, Doctor Trey. Well, I mean, then
52:30
again, you can look at it. WW is basically running NXT and a
52:36
pay per view every single month. You're still kind of getting about the same
52:39
amount of time. They're just splitting it up over two weekends. Well,
52:43
I mean NXC just ran the show this past weekend, and then then our
52:46
next show is in early December, so I wouldn't say it's like every month.
52:50
Yeah, but the Survivor Series is the end of November, so it
52:54
could be possible that you do Survivors Series and nxts on back to back weekends.
52:59
Again, are you ending the five and a half hour a W pay
53:01
per views? No? No, No, I'm wishing they would break it
53:05
up. Do too nice. If you're gonna do six hours, at least
53:07
do WrestleMania. Like we literally just talked about Keith Lee in a pre SCIOW
53:12
match that made no sense at all, Like, what are we doing?
53:15
Just giving him a paycheck? Holler holler, holler? All right, next
53:21
match, you're l w O, ray Masteriro Santos Escomar and maybe either Jacques
53:25
Wild or Cruise Del Toro taken on Bobby Lashley in the Street Profits. They
53:30
haven't announced the third person for l w O. I seem to think that
53:32
this will be oh God, Dragon Lee and n next. I just have
53:37
that feeling, Doctor Trey, who do you like in this one? Uh?
53:42
Well, I'm taking the street prop or the street business. Can I
53:45
call them street business or the hurt profits? What I like hurt profits?
53:51
I like the hurt profits. I'm thinking this, guys, what is Carlito?
53:54
Because good call? But uh how about a great call because he's under
54:00
contract? Yeah, because I keep seeing them go, oh, it could
54:04
be Cruise Del Toro. I'm like, like, really, that'd be a
54:06
letdown if it's Cruise or uh no, no, no, you're right,
54:08
this is the time to bring back Carlito, who's reportedly under contract. I
54:12
like that call, good call. I've got Bobby Lashley in the street profits
54:15
as well. Next match is the triple Throat match for the WA Women's Championship
54:19
EO Sky Defense against Oscar and Charlotte Flair. I've got Io retaining Doctor Trey.
54:23
This one's hard for me, like I've literally I can. I literally
54:28
start off this week thinking Charlotte's gonna win, but I was like, no,
54:30
she's not gonna break her dad's record at fast Lane, and then I
54:37
was with EO, and then I was also with Oscar. So it's really
54:39
hard because I like EO, but I think, to me, EO and
54:44
Bailey is the more compelling path. But Bailey kind of set this match up,
54:47
so you need her to cost EO the title. So I'm gonna take
54:51
Oscar regaining this backdown win this championship. Oh interesting. Next match is john
54:55
Seen in LA and I take it on the blood Line Jimmy Usso and so
54:59
Lit's co Doctor Trey. Who do you like this one? I just don't
55:05
see how you have l A Knight and Johnson to lose this match because Roman's
55:08
not in it, and this also sets up tension with Romans Solo and Jimmy
55:13
if you want to go that route. So I'll take uh, Sina Knight
55:15
Night, Sena Night moves that you can't see me at night? Oh,
55:19
I like you can't see night. Yeah, I'm gonna take Johnson and l
55:23
A Knight as well. Uh. And then Seth Freaking Rollands takes on Shin
55:28
to say knock amore in a last man standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
55:31
I've got Seth Freaking Rowlands retaining this one. Doctor try yeah, over
55:36
under on octopus holds or abdominal stretches in this match, over under on those,
55:42
I will say at what, like, what are you making the mark?
55:45
Or do you want me to make the mark? I'll set it at
55:46
two. Okay, I was gonna say two and a half, So I'll
55:49
take the over. Okay, I'm gonna take the under on this one just
55:52
because of the tie into a. Ok because Dear, with the back injury,
55:55
you think, yeah, I think you'll get one good one, but
56:00
I think you may get more backstabbage of this mass abdominal stretches. I don't
56:05
know. I don't know if I don't know if WW still likes to do
56:07
abdominal stretches anymore. I don't know that that was. I saw more abdominal
56:10
stretches in one show at Wressell Dream that I think I had seen in the
56:15
entire year of professional wrestling prior. So they should just call it Wressell Octopus
56:21
stretch Octopus Abdominal Dreams, Abdominal Dreams. Yes, I like that better.
56:28
So we both have taken Seth frank and ronalds on this one. Yeah,
56:30
taking Seth as well. All right, there you go, WWE fascinating.
56:34
We will recap and review it on next week's edition of sr TU. Would
