- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where the.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:10Speaker 3: I got to come up the bitch.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Mercedes
- 0:14Speaker 1: Benz Baton Rouge Studio starts now.
- 0:48Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in Hour.
- 0:49Speaker 5: Number two OTB one oh four five ESPN Beton Ruge.
- 0:54Speaker 5: Sh It is now time for the twelfth ranked team
- 0:57Speaker 5: and the OTB Top twenty five. How did we get
- 1:01Speaker 5: from twenty five to twelve? Boise State at twenty five,
- 1:05Speaker 5: Memphis at twenty four, Baylor at twenty three, Georgia Tech
- 1:09Speaker 5: at twenty two, Tennessee at twenty one, Iowa State at twenty,
- 1:14Speaker 5: Texas eighty four at nineteen, Indiana at eighteen, oh Miss
- 1:17Speaker 5: at seventeen, Florida at sixteen, Texas Tech at fifteen, SMU
- 1:23Speaker 5: at fourteen, Arizona State at thirteen, and now.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Tatay the twelfth rate team top twenty five.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Look, guys, we're in the top twelve.
- 1:34Speaker 6: Now this is where you separate the men from the boys, right,
- 1:36Speaker 6: I mean where this is in the thick of the
- 1:38Speaker 6: college football playoff line. So I wanted to do it
- 1:41Speaker 6: a little bit different today, hit at a laundra. The
- 1:47Speaker 6: Alabama Crimson Tide are coming in at number twelve. I
- 1:51Speaker 6: know most people have them ranked higher than this. I
- 1:55Speaker 6: just can't do it. I am really concerned about their
- 1:57Speaker 6: quarterback situation. Not only do you lose your starting quarterback
- 2:00Speaker 6: in Jalen Milroe, but you lose your most electrifying runner
- 2:03Speaker 6: from a season ago. Now, jam Miller back expected to
- 2:06Speaker 6: be the lead back, but he's actually injured. He's missing
- 2:09Speaker 6: the opener now against Florida State. Who knows how long
- 2:12Speaker 6: he's going to be out now. He had almost eight
- 2:14Speaker 6: hundred yards rushing a season ago, but that's because teams
- 2:17Speaker 6: were keying in on Jaylen Milroe. He is the guy now,
- 2:19Speaker 6: he is the running threat. How's he going to handle
- 2:22Speaker 6: being that lead back?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Now?
- 2:24Speaker 6: Look as far as returning production goes, they return a
- 2:27Speaker 6: good bit.
- 2:27Speaker 2: They return eight starters.
- 2:28Speaker 6: On defense, they're going to be about as solid as
- 2:31Speaker 6: you could be on that side of the ball. But again,
- 2:33Speaker 6: for me, it's more of the offense, as they have
- 2:35Speaker 6: six returning starters, one Jam Miller, who we don't know
- 2:38Speaker 6: what he's going to look like. Ryan Williams is an
- 2:40Speaker 6: absolute stud. We know that, but how much is ty
- 2:43Speaker 6: Simson going to be able to get him the ball consistently.
- 2:46Speaker 6: You do return three starters on the offensive line, but
- 2:49Speaker 6: you've got to replace two big important pieces up front.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And then Jeremy Bernard.
- 2:53Speaker 6: Everybody's expected him to be this stud receiver as the
- 2:56Speaker 6: number two, and yardage wise, he was okay. A season
- 2:59Speaker 6: ago he had almost eight hundred yards receiving, but just
- 3:03Speaker 6: two touchdowns, and he actually only has six touchdowns total
- 3:06Speaker 6: in his three seasons in Tuscaloosa. When you look at
- 3:09Speaker 6: their schedule, I do like their schedule, which is why
- 3:12Speaker 6: I have them at twelve because I think they're going
- 3:14Speaker 6: to be in there in the playoff hunt. Despite not
- 3:17Speaker 6: good quarterback play. You play Florida State, even without jam Miller,
- 3:21Speaker 6: I think you win that game. Florida State was a
- 3:23Speaker 6: two win team a year ago. I don't expect a
- 3:25Speaker 6: tremendous jump. And you go ULM Wisconsin, you're three and zero.
- 3:29Speaker 6: Then you're on the road Week four against Georgia in Athens.
- 3:33Speaker 6: That one's gonna be tough. But even if you lose
- 3:35Speaker 6: that game, that puts you at three and one. You
- 3:38Speaker 6: come home against Vanderbilt. I don't think there's any way
- 3:41Speaker 6: Alabama loses to Vanderbilt two years unund as much as
- 3:43Speaker 6: we would all love it, I don't see that being
- 3:45Speaker 6: the case. That would put him at four and one.
- 3:48Speaker 6: You go to Missouri in Columbia. That could be a
- 3:51Speaker 6: sneaky game, but they're breaking in a new quarterback as well.
- 3:54Speaker 6: But voat formula, we'll see how that works out. Tennessee,
- 3:58Speaker 6: you have them at home. That's a big advantage there.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Going to South Carolina you could slip up there, and
- 4:05Speaker 6: then Lshu you got them at home.
- 4:07Speaker 2: But honestly, the Tigers played better.
- 4:08Speaker 6: In Tuscaloosa, at least in recent memory, in there, So
- 4:11Speaker 6: there are three potential games that you could drop on
- 4:14Speaker 6: this schedule.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I think you'll beat Oklahoma.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Not sure how good they'll be, but if John Mattier
- 4:19Speaker 6: comes out in surprises people, that's a team that could
- 4:22Speaker 6: be sneaky at the end of the year.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I think you close things out with Auburn.
- 4:25Speaker 6: I don't think they're gonna be very good, but I
- 4:26Speaker 6: think there's potentially three losses on this schedule for the
- 4:29Speaker 6: Alabama Crimson touch. So I got them at number twelve.
- 4:33Speaker 4: That's not too too crazy.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I said we were gonna hate it.
- 4:38Speaker 2: You said we weren't gonna Maybe you don't.
- 4:40Speaker 4: No, I think it's not a bad spot for them.
- 4:42Speaker 5: I think they're with somewhere between nine and twelve nine
- 4:45Speaker 5: and they need to be so they.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Guys, I got them like competing for a playoff spot,
- 4:50Speaker 6: and I think that's what they do this year. I
- 4:52Speaker 6: think nine to three, ten and two somewhere in there,
- 4:54Speaker 6: depending on own falls.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Ryan Grubb being back as the OC, like, that's a
- 4:58Speaker 5: big deal. That's a big pot as that have for them.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Ty Simpson is somebody that I just I have not
- 5:05Speaker 5: seen a flash from him enough to make me go, oh,
- 5:08Speaker 5: that's that's gonna work.
- 5:09Speaker 3: For sure, that's going to work.
- 5:11Speaker 5: And you mentioned the running back is going to be
- 5:12Speaker 5: out against Florida State, Like, I don't know what Florida
- 5:15Speaker 5: State is going to be. Like you said, they won
- 5:17Speaker 5: two games, one game against an FBS team a year ago,
- 5:21Speaker 5: so who knows what they end up being two years
- 5:23Speaker 5: ago they were undefeated as we all know in the
- 5:25Speaker 5: regular season. But it's a good test, like it's on
- 5:29Speaker 5: the road, dope Campbell. They just redid their stadium completely.
- 5:33Speaker 5: I don't think that in Florida State's gonna beat Alabama.
- 5:36Speaker 5: But it's a nice test for the rest of the country.
- 5:39Speaker 5: I think to see where Alabama's at, and they need
- 5:42Speaker 5: to make the playoff. Like coach Saban said, the highest
- 5:46Speaker 5: of high standards that you possibly can have there for
- 5:49Speaker 5: Kylen de Bor coming in. So if they go nine
- 5:52Speaker 5: and three, Tay, that's probably a disappointment for Alabama fans.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 5:57Speaker 6: And look, you were talking about ty Simpson like we've
- 5:59Speaker 6: seen a little bit him, but you haven't seen the flashes.
- 6:02Speaker 6: I would have been more worried about this Alabama team
- 6:05Speaker 6: if they would have started Keeland Russell only because I
- 6:08Speaker 6: think they can probably beat Florida State with Keeland Russell.
- 6:11Speaker 6: Then you give him ULM, you beat Wisconsin at home.
- 6:15Speaker 6: You have three games right there to play with with
- 6:17Speaker 6: Keiland Russell before you actually enter SEC play. As we know,
- 6:21Speaker 6: he was a highly recruited guy. But with ty Simpson,
- 6:24Speaker 6: we'll see he's not as dynamic of an athlete as
- 6:27Speaker 6: a Russell is. I just I'm gonna have to see
- 6:31Speaker 6: it with ty Simpson, like everything else is there. You
- 6:34Speaker 6: have Ryan Williams, you have a good complimentary piece in
- 6:37Speaker 6: Jeremy Bernard. The defense is gonna be great the seasons.
- 6:40Speaker 6: Ty Simpson is gonna make or break this Alabama season,
- 6:43Speaker 6: Like depend on your opinion of him, will depend on
- 6:44Speaker 6: your confidence level in Alabama. But I've seen him a
- 6:48Speaker 6: few times in limited action. Didn't come away very impressed.
- 6:51Speaker 6: But we'll see if he got better.
- 6:53Speaker 7: And let's not forget Killin de Bord is a really
- 6:58Speaker 7: good head coach.
- 6:58Speaker 2: He is.
- 6:59Speaker 7: We really don't don't know much about it here in
- 7:01Speaker 7: the SEC because we've only seen it for one year
- 7:04Speaker 7: at Alabama and that was coming on the heels of
- 7:07Speaker 7: the great Nick Saban. But one hundred and four and
- 7:10Speaker 7: twelve record as a head coach, oh, for sure, pretty
- 7:15Speaker 7: good every level. You give him the Alabama talent, like,
- 7:17Speaker 7: let's not like, let's not sleep on them as LSU fans.
- 7:21Speaker 7: Let's not be so excited that Saban is no longer
- 7:23Speaker 7: there that we forget that they still have talent and
- 7:26Speaker 7: they got one heck of a head coach. So we'll
- 7:29Speaker 7: see how he handles SEC and he can progress. Let's
- 7:32Speaker 7: not judge about year one, of course.
- 7:34Speaker 6: So I'm glad you mentioned that because so many people
- 7:36Speaker 6: talk about how great of a coach Dan Lanning is
- 7:38Speaker 6: and I love Dan Lanning. If you remember two years ago,
- 7:41Speaker 6: killn de Bor had his number twice in that season,
- 7:44Speaker 6: which is why they made the playoff at Oregon was
- 7:46Speaker 6: left out. Like killing de Bor is a good football
- 7:48Speaker 6: coach and he's won big time games.
- 7:50Speaker 5: I just think the standard that coach Saban says, it's
- 7:53Speaker 5: impossible to be impossible to live up to that.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Now. Kirby's trying his best right now.
- 8:00Speaker 5: But like even Kirby, like they won the two back
- 8:02Speaker 5: to back championships, but like they haven't even I don't
- 8:05Speaker 5: know that they can happen again. But that so when
- 8:09Speaker 5: you're a fan, though, and it's like you see that
- 8:12Speaker 5: and you know that that's kind of all you know,
- 8:14Speaker 5: Like imagine being like a twenty one year old Alabama fans,
- 8:18Speaker 5: you know what I mean, Like you were born in
- 8:19Speaker 5: two thousand and four, you probably started really understanding football
- 8:22Speaker 5: in twenty fourteen. Like all you know is championships. Are
- 8:26Speaker 5: playing for a championship at the East, right, So like
- 8:28Speaker 5: that's kind of the expectations.
- 8:30Speaker 7: You know, frat swoops and championships, little punks, is that
- 8:37Speaker 7: what they call it?
- 8:38Speaker 5: The frat swoops. I don't know what that's what we
- 8:40Speaker 5: called it, the front tuck. We called we called the
- 8:43Speaker 5: frat swoop.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I don't know you ever had a front tuck?
- 8:46Speaker 8: Were talking about French tuck.
- 8:50Speaker 3: That's a French show.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah, talking in just the front.
- 8:54Speaker 3: What are you thinking about?
- 8:55Speaker 6: I thought you were talking about we always talk about swoop.
- 8:57Speaker 6: I was like, wait, this aircut front tuck, like justin
- 9:00Speaker 6: I was confused.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yeah, there's the thing. I used to just tuck in
- 9:03Speaker 3: the front.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I did have the bieber up until about ninth grade.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Did you did have that?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Everybody kind of had the little we can see uh
- 9:12Speaker 2: am I.
- 9:13Speaker 7: We coach Saban did, Like he did have the quote
- 9:16Speaker 7: that it's way more fun to build a program that
- 9:21Speaker 7: then to sustain it. So like that tells us that, like,
- 9:23Speaker 7: it's not that much fun when you've reached the top
- 9:25Speaker 7: of the mountain and the expectations are so great that
- 9:28Speaker 7: you have to stay on top of the mountain or
- 9:29Speaker 7: everybody gets pissed. Well, Kelen de boor he took over
- 9:34Speaker 7: a program that was on top of the mountain, so
- 9:36Speaker 7: he gets to skip all the fun part about building
- 9:39Speaker 7: a program and has to maintain it. Or people are
- 9:42Speaker 7: just automatic, automatically gonna think he's not a good coach,
- 9:46Speaker 7: which you know, it's impossible to take take over and
- 9:49Speaker 7: step into somebody's shoes like that in the first year
- 9:52Speaker 7: and have enough success.
- 9:54Speaker 3: To please everybody. Right, But he is a dangerous head coach.
- 9:58Speaker 7: We'll see how he fits in his coaching stuff in
- 10:00Speaker 7: the SEC and in Alabama. But everything he's done leading
- 10:04Speaker 7: up to this point makes them a dangerous look.
- 10:07Speaker 4: And those around them have gotten better.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Right. You added Texas to the league.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Georgia continues to thrive, right, and so like you've added teams.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Tennessee makes the playoff last year, that's one of your
- 10:20Speaker 5: biggest rivals. So like the teams around you also have
- 10:24Speaker 5: raised their level of play like that, now that you've
- 10:27Speaker 5: got the ability to go out there to spend money,
- 10:29Speaker 5: build a roster, go in the portal, like all those things.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Like it's the standard that they said is not going
- 10:35Speaker 5: to be attainable by anybody because the playing field is
- 10:40Speaker 5: different as well. And coach Stateman had a pretty firm
- 10:44Speaker 5: grasp on getting the best players. Obvious, he's pretty decent
- 10:47Speaker 5: at it, pretty good at I'll never forget being on
- 10:51Speaker 5: the phone with that fellon. He's he's like, like, coach,
- 10:54Speaker 5: you know, asking me before he offered me a scholarship,
- 10:58Speaker 5: and I was talking with him.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, I committed to tech. Whatever.
- 11:00Speaker 5: He goes, yeah, that's great. But he's like, cool, recruiting spill,
- 11:04Speaker 5: that's great. Cool, You're from Louisiana, so I'm LSU I'm
- 11:08Speaker 5: about to offer you a scholarship. So do you want
- 11:10Speaker 5: to commit now or you always want to do it
- 11:12Speaker 5: in ten minutes? Like he was relentless on the phone.
- 11:16Speaker 5: I can't tell y'all, like it didn't matter where I
- 11:19Speaker 5: was or like what the situation was. He'd called the
- 11:22Speaker 5: Hey coach, I'm doing this. Okay, Yeah, that's great. Here's
- 11:25Speaker 5: the recruiting pitch. Always be closing man.
- 11:27Speaker 3: And he did.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Shout out to him for making my brother's soccer budget
- 11:32Speaker 5: for like four years by coming to a soccer game.
- 11:36Speaker 7: And I just think that, uh, you know, saving guys,
- 11:39Speaker 7: to the point where he probably got tired of his
- 11:41Speaker 7: players calling him asking for raises at the end of
- 11:43Speaker 7: the season, which is what they do these days. Yeah,
- 11:46Speaker 7: I played pretty well last year. Can I get a raise?
- 11:51Speaker 7: You're in college kid? All right, here we go, guys.
- 11:54Speaker 7: This is uh, Junior high Taylor and his sister.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Oh my there, huh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 12:03Speaker 2: It's Rainforce Cafe.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I believe that it was good.
- 12:06Speaker 2: It was probably not.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Cafe Rainforest, remember.
- 12:13Speaker 6: You remember, Yeah, this is probably the one in Katy, Texas.
- 12:18Speaker 3: No, that's definitely Branson. That's definitely Branson, right, yeah, no doubt.
- 12:22Speaker 3: That's a John Deere convince.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we had we had the we had to swoop
- 12:26Speaker 2: for a little while.
- 12:27Speaker 7: Oh well, I think Jake and I probably both had
- 12:31Speaker 7: the undercut with a part in the middle as a child.
- 12:34Speaker 4: We did butt cut.
- 12:36Speaker 7: We'll call it the Home Improvement Special. Can I get
- 12:40Speaker 7: the j T you get the j T T please?
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yes? Thank you one time. Thank you appreciate that. That
- 12:45Speaker 3: would be twelve none and that think you're natural hair color.
- 12:49Speaker 3: We have a little highlights in the No.
- 12:50Speaker 6: That was I've just got the dark. Well, so it's funny.
- 12:53Speaker 6: My little brother, his heir was darker than mount already.
- 12:58Speaker 3: H they get highlights.
- 13:00Speaker 4: It's okay, I had frost it.
- 13:01Speaker 7: And then all right, so like a targarian, I'm watching
- 13:05Speaker 7: rewatching Game of Thrones right now.
- 13:06Speaker 3: What you're like a targarian? You didn't know what that means. Yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 3: from a game of throats watching it. You didn't watch it.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I've seen like two seasons.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Okay, wow, that is psycho a lot.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I didn't I didn't make it all I need to know.
- 13:20Speaker 2: But he didn't make it through two seasons.
- 13:21Speaker 4: That's weird.
- 13:22Speaker 3: That a weird. That's weird.
- 13:25Speaker 7: I can understand people not watching it because it was
- 13:27Speaker 7: there was a lot. I knew a lot of people
- 13:28Speaker 7: that didn't watch it because there was so much hype.
- 13:31Speaker 7: They just didn't want to be like Sheep. They didn't
- 13:33Speaker 7: want to be that guy. But like once everybody starts it,
- 13:36Speaker 7: they keep watching.
- 13:37Speaker 6: I have a bad habit of not finishing shows. I
- 13:39Speaker 6: was told you, O Day, great with movies, bad with
- 13:41Speaker 6: TV shows. It's always been.
- 13:43Speaker 7: But it's like a movie every every week, every episode.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I got a bad habit with stunting, just the thing, laundry.
- 13:50Speaker 9: That's that's the hardest habit to break, stunting.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I'm assuming this is some obscure song.
- 13:58Speaker 2: It's not that obscure.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Yeah, tell me sing it. We'll play it.
- 14:02Speaker 5: We'll play it coming back, and when we come back,
- 14:05Speaker 5: I want to talk a little LSU running game, running
- 14:09Speaker 5: back room.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Would you want thin You don't want to talk about golf?
- 14:13Speaker 3: Absolutely not.
- 14:15Speaker 4: That's like an eight fifty two segment.
- 14:17Speaker 5: People want to know about Scotti Shuffler. They will at
- 14:19Speaker 5: eight fifty two our weekend Winter. You got a lot
- 14:22Speaker 5: of different chances. You can talk about Scotty didn't know
- 14:26Speaker 5: more to b when we come.

- 16:23Speaker 11: speak got a fresh all my arm guy of Charum Obama,
- 16:26Speaker 11: neg jup and Don passed the mike watching bout the chest.
- 16:28Speaker 11: There's still swimming out Nan just to live my home
- 16:31Speaker 11: south side, so.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Face waiting for.
- 16:35Speaker 4: The hook, well the hook plane.
- 16:37Speaker 5: But the problem is you didn't have your headphones, so
- 16:39Speaker 5: there you got like.
- 16:41Speaker 10: He see the Chevy wall like me, I'm seeing the
- 16:45Speaker 10: shaving wades beat like me, Hey, let me see the
- 16:48Speaker 10: Chevy way that butterfly.
- 16:49Speaker 12: Dough stunning as I had.
- 16:53Speaker 3: No, Well, you're looking at me.
- 16:55Speaker 2: This is this is one that doesn't know.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I don't know shi with them? Oh why why am
- 17:05Speaker 3: I supposed to know that?
- 17:06Speaker 4: Yeah, like it's pretty popular. I think like it was
- 17:11Speaker 4: real popular.
- 17:12Speaker 9: You know the song that's like it's going down me,
- 17:15Speaker 9: Me and the club. Okay, there's a part in that
- 17:17Speaker 9: song where he's like stunting is a habit.
- 17:20Speaker 8: That's the same guy, But that wasn't that song.
- 17:23Speaker 3: But it's like song no.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Was like We're inege eight.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I probably heard it at like Reggies.
- 17:32Speaker 5: If you were at Reggie's inn O eight. That's a
- 17:34Speaker 5: you thing. It may not it may have only been
- 17:37Speaker 5: a two thousand and three Reggie situation for you. That's
- 17:40Speaker 5: when you first got here.
- 17:41Speaker 3: That's true. I wouldn't.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, like me.
- 17:43Speaker 3: If you were there in eight.
- 17:45Speaker 7: You act like I knew what I never even heard
- 17:48Speaker 7: that song. You act like I knew when it came out.
- 17:49Speaker 5: No, no, no, no no, don't try to take away from
- 17:51Speaker 5: what you said. You and Spadoni and Reggie.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Sorry, guest, believe you don't David band hot.
- 17:57Speaker 3: It's not a good song. Hot take bad song.
- 18:01Speaker 7: Sorry, those Bella had like some like weird sense of
- 18:06Speaker 7: nostalgia that skews the truth that that's a bad song.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Oh it was. It was out when I was a kid,
- 18:14Speaker 3: when I was in college. It makes it a good song. No,
- 18:16Speaker 3: it doesn't.
- 18:17Speaker 5: The song sucks. Heaved banners, pretty popular song. I don't
- 18:25Speaker 5: know why you're so angry right now. You're right, man, Oh.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm great.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Who hurts you?
- 18:32Speaker 3: Who hurts you? Sorry? I was just getting real. I
- 18:35Speaker 3: was getting judged. I was getting I judged by a
- 18:38Speaker 3: lot of people in the foxhole.
- 18:39Speaker 8: Right there, judge. I was just surprised that you didn't
- 18:43Speaker 8: know it.
- 18:44Speaker 4: No, it was just surprise situation.
- 18:47Speaker 6: Yeah, you've never heard it. I'm surprised you don't like
- 18:50Speaker 6: the song. I don't really like the song. But I
- 18:52Speaker 6: mean I know it.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Nobody does.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Nobody knows it, likes it.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I like Itandra Daniel said it.
- 19:00Speaker 5: Nay to snickers Man, you got chill out.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Okay, I'm good, I'm good. Let's talk about those running backs.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Now, I didn't say running back. What did you say?
- 19:12Speaker 4: I said running game?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Running game? Yeah, all right.
- 19:18Speaker 5: So the running back position for the LSU Tigers is thin.
- 19:24Speaker 3: You get Cayden Durham's a sophomore.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Youet Caleb Jackson, who is a junior.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Cale Jackson has had a couple of una plays, but right,
- 19:34Speaker 5: you need him to be consistent, certainly if he's going
- 19:36Speaker 5: to be your backup running back. Now, Harlem Berry one
- 19:39Speaker 5: of the most highly touted running backs in the country.
- 19:42Speaker 5: A lot of services had him as the highest towed
- 19:44Speaker 5: running back in the country.
- 19:45Speaker 4: He's a freshman.
- 19:47Speaker 3: We all know j. T.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Lindsay right now suspended from the team. So you have
- 19:51Speaker 5: three scholarship running backs. Now we've talked about Juwan Johnson, right,
- 19:57Speaker 5: kind of a jack of all trades type guy, quarter
- 20:00Speaker 5: running back, receiver, came here as a dB. He's gonna
- 20:02Speaker 5: be able to help you in the run game without question.
- 20:05Speaker 5: If you've been to practice. You've seen it. He'll line
- 20:07Speaker 5: up in the backfield, he'll take a snap at quarterback.
- 20:09Speaker 3: That's gonna help you.
- 20:11Speaker 5: You're gonna need more help and you're gonna have to
- 20:14Speaker 5: continue to get help from other places.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Now.
- 20:17Speaker 5: I think Kayden Durham is gonna be All SEC. I
- 20:20Speaker 5: said it whatever week that was. I don't know if
- 20:22Speaker 5: his first team, second team. If he stays healthy, he's
- 20:25Speaker 5: gonna be an all SEC running back. I believe that
- 20:28Speaker 5: is going to be true. Last year, as a banged
- 20:31Speaker 5: up freshman, he had over seven hundred yards. He took
- 20:34Speaker 5: over the South Carolina game. There was a couple of
- 20:37Speaker 5: runs that if he was healthy he would have finished.
- 20:39Speaker 5: I mean, a guy had a foot toe injury at
- 20:41Speaker 5: running backs. It's less than ideal, right, but he played
- 20:44Speaker 5: through it, so you appreciate the grit. He's gonna have
- 20:46Speaker 5: a monster year. But we know you got to have
- 20:48Speaker 5: more than just one guy in the SEC. So is
- 20:52Speaker 5: it gonna be Cale Jackson?
- 20:53Speaker 3: You hope.
- 20:53Speaker 4: So we'll see Harlan Berry.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Can he give you something as a freshman that would
- 20:58Speaker 5: be an added benefit? Juwan Johnson's going to give you something,
- 21:01Speaker 5: But what else can you get from anybody else to
- 21:06Speaker 5: help out the run game. I think Xavian Thomas is
- 21:10Speaker 5: an interesting candidate here.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Okay, is he.
- 21:12Speaker 5: A receiver, Yes, but he's got obvious return skills. Last year,
- 21:18Speaker 5: one of my favorite plays that they used to run.
- 21:21Speaker 5: They would be in gun and they would motion him
- 21:23Speaker 5: into the backfield and they would run counter with Zavian Thomas. Okay,
- 21:29Speaker 5: so anything's available, Like if you're putting a receiver in
- 21:33Speaker 5: a counter situation, like he has the ability to run
- 21:36Speaker 5: between the tackles, which doesn't allow you to fall into
- 21:39Speaker 5: tendencies of just getting a jet sweep or getting something
- 21:41Speaker 5: on the perimeter. Now, Like, honestly, counter is kind of
- 21:46Speaker 5: like reading your kickoff return if you think about it,
- 21:49Speaker 5: like your blockers are out in front of you. You got
- 21:51Speaker 5: five yards of slow developing, yes, slow developing, and you're
- 21:54Speaker 5: kind of reading. If they log it, you go here,
- 21:55Speaker 5: if they kick it out, you go op inside, and.
- 21:57Speaker 7: You're not taking like the big shots we talked about
- 21:59Speaker 7: that week with a lot of times when you run
- 22:01Speaker 7: quarterbacks as a quarterback counter, yeah, because it's the same thing.
- 22:03Speaker 7: You're not necessarily just sticking your head up in there
- 22:06Speaker 7: and taking a lot of beating so like you said,
- 22:10Speaker 7: you get a lot of space, you got some green,
- 22:11Speaker 7: you got reads to make. So unless it just gets
- 22:13Speaker 7: completely blown up, you should never take like this huge
- 22:16Speaker 7: shot right the line of scrimmage. You kind of control
- 22:18Speaker 7: your own destiny because hopefully you're getting to the second level.
- 22:21Speaker 3: And being able to make a move.
- 22:23Speaker 5: So, I mean, he is somebody that I absolutely think
- 22:26Speaker 5: can help you in the run game. And actually Hunt
- 22:29Speaker 5: has a great story up on Xavian Thomas right now
- 22:31Speaker 5: louisianasports dot net and talking about his role and how
- 22:34Speaker 5: it is going to expand this year.
- 22:36Speaker 4: But I want to see him get involved in the
- 22:38Speaker 4: run game.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Now.
- 22:39Speaker 5: I'm not talking about going back to Matt Canada and
- 22:40Speaker 5: running jet sweets. I'm talking about just a lot of
- 22:43Speaker 5: different things. And honestly, and I think you would agree
- 22:46Speaker 5: with this, Like a now route out of the slot
- 22:49Speaker 5: that's an extension of the run game, a little quick
- 22:52Speaker 5: bubble out of the slot that's an extension of the
- 22:54Speaker 5: run game. Like those are plays on first down, go
- 22:57Speaker 5: get us six yards on those plays, and I think
- 23:00Speaker 5: Thomas is the perfect player to go and get that done.
- 23:03Speaker 5: So he might not be getting a handoff, but when
- 23:07Speaker 5: you throw a bubble, a quick now, whatever it might be,
- 23:10Speaker 5: that is a very high percentage play to get the
- 23:13Speaker 5: ball to a play maker in space.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Hey go make it second in four.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 7: All RPOs are just an extension of the running game.
- 23:21Speaker 7: They're not necessarily designed to create big plays, like big
- 23:27Speaker 7: explosive games, but they're designed to get people one on
- 23:32Speaker 7: one in space and avoid negative plays in the run game.
- 23:35Speaker 7: So when I was when I first got into the NFL,
- 23:38Speaker 7: like Green Bay was kind of on like the leading
- 23:41Speaker 7: edge of RPOs, like in the like an old school way,
- 23:44Speaker 7: like like you said, backside now, backside one step we
- 23:47Speaker 7: call it a look slant, just a one step slant
- 23:50Speaker 7: and now or we call it a key route would
- 23:52Speaker 7: just be like one step and you're just you catch
- 23:54Speaker 7: it right the line of scrimmage.
- 23:55Speaker 4: He was our protection. That'd have been confused.
- 23:56Speaker 12: Yeah. There.
- 23:58Speaker 7: And then of course it's developed over the last fifteen
- 24:01Speaker 7: or so years. It twenty years about it's of course
- 24:05Speaker 7: it's in the shotgun. You're doing a lot of inside slants.
- 24:08Speaker 7: You're reading backers more. We weren't necessarily reading linebackers positioning
- 24:12Speaker 7: or their angles that they were taking in the shotgun.
- 24:15Speaker 7: We were reading more pre snap alignment, Like, all right,
- 24:17Speaker 7: we want to run the strong side zone, strong side power.
- 24:19Speaker 7: But if they get this front and they have if
- 24:21Speaker 7: they have the safety down, our numbers aren't good. So
- 24:23Speaker 7: instead of creating a negative play, if you have a
- 24:26Speaker 7: backed off if you have a backed off dB or
- 24:29Speaker 7: a corner on the receiver, throat to him. Let's get
- 24:31Speaker 7: one on one and okay, we'll make a move. We
- 24:33Speaker 7: get three or four yards, they tackle them by the feet.
- 24:34Speaker 7: We reached the ball out, get four yards whatever. But
- 24:37Speaker 7: sometimes Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, they'd make a god miss
- 24:41Speaker 7: and score seventy yard touchdown.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Because and it's just like.
- 24:43Speaker 7: The running game, Like in the running game, when you
- 24:45Speaker 7: run counters, when you run outside sweeps, when you run
- 24:48Speaker 7: jet sweeps, which all you're trying to do is just
- 24:51Speaker 7: get one on one matchup, trying to with green grass.
- 24:54Speaker 7: Let a guy move. So it is an extension of
- 24:57Speaker 7: the running game. But as far as the running game, like,
- 24:59Speaker 7: what we need to hope for as fans is this
- 25:05Speaker 7: the the bright flickers that we've seen in practice of
- 25:10Speaker 7: a Caleb Jackson Like I went to I went to
- 25:13Speaker 7: a camp, I went to practice last year.
- 25:15Speaker 3: It was a scrimmage and I texted you, like, Who's
- 25:17Speaker 3: I can't remember this.
- 25:17Speaker 4: He said, who's twenty eight?
- 25:19Speaker 3: It's I said, who's twenty eight? He damn near killed
- 25:22Speaker 3: a guy. It was with Weekes.
- 25:24Speaker 7: He can in the country, and he flattened him in
- 25:27Speaker 7: a practice and he made play after play after play
- 25:31Speaker 7: that price.
- 25:31Speaker 3: I was like, who is this guy? This guy's gonna
- 25:33Speaker 3: be an all American. Yeah.
- 25:34Speaker 7: Of course after that learned like he's got his he's
- 25:36Speaker 7: got his ups and his downs. He had little ball
- 25:38Speaker 7: security issues. I think he can be to catan dirt.
- 25:41Speaker 7: He can be that change up that like a Tobert
- 25:45Speaker 7: used to be. You come in and just all right,
- 25:47Speaker 7: my guy.
- 25:48Speaker 3: All right.
- 25:49Speaker 7: As a defense, I'm facing this really versatile, talented running
- 25:54Speaker 7: back garrettnus Meyer's play action where they're completing passes like
- 25:58Speaker 7: we're gassed. As a defense, we're getting tied, and all
- 26:00Speaker 7: of a sudden, you got Caleb Jackson coming in there
- 26:03Speaker 7: one hundred percent energy. And when I see I've seen
- 26:06Speaker 7: him do it in practice and he's going against a
- 26:09Speaker 7: gas or a tire defense as a change up. If
- 26:12Speaker 7: he can fill that role, like that's a dynamic situation
- 26:17Speaker 7: we have in the back that if he can do
- 26:19Speaker 7: it now that remains to be seen, but I can
- 26:21Speaker 7: tell you there's gonna be moments this year if they
- 26:23Speaker 7: use it correctly, that he can be a change up
- 26:26Speaker 7: and an intimidating change up where it's like the defense
- 26:28Speaker 7: and the linebackers and the safety that's having to like
- 26:31Speaker 7: come down and cover three or cover one or whatever
- 26:33Speaker 7: to be that they're gonna be. All right, I'm gonna
- 26:35Speaker 7: have to meet this guy in the B gap like
- 26:37Speaker 7: one on one because that's just tackle football is like,
- 26:41Speaker 7: I'm gassed, I'm tired, the shoulders a little sore. I'm like,
- 26:44Speaker 7: but you got this guy running a hundred mile an
- 26:46Speaker 7: hour at me, and I know he's about to even
- 26:48Speaker 7: though it's illegal, he's about to hit me with a
- 26:50Speaker 7: crown of his helmet, right, and it's not gonna get
- 26:53Speaker 7: called because it's within the running back. It's a running back,
- 26:56Speaker 7: so it's within the tackle box, all right.
- 26:58Speaker 5: So let me ask you somebody, so you know, the
- 27:02Speaker 5: ball security stuff is one thing, and also like the
- 27:04Speaker 5: vision portion of this, and it might not even be
- 27:07Speaker 5: a vision thing. It's like because I look, did we
- 27:10Speaker 5: run out of gun some in two thousand and seven
- 27:12Speaker 5: we did, for sure, but I wanted to be toes
- 27:16Speaker 5: at seven and a half dot in the eye going
- 27:19Speaker 5: downhill like that was my stream at a pistol. I
- 27:22Speaker 5: love running zone out of a pistol. I think Caleb
- 27:25Speaker 5: has some of that too. It's like him being in
- 27:28Speaker 5: gun and going across the formation, then turning his shoulders
- 27:30Speaker 5: and going you're taking away one of his biggest strengths,
- 27:33Speaker 5: which is his size and his power. Yep, right, put
- 27:36Speaker 5: him if you don't want to do under centered now
- 27:39Speaker 5: they look, they've done some of that in the practice
- 27:41Speaker 5: that they have. We have seen and we've never seen
- 27:43Speaker 5: that before. No, so they're going to do some of that.
- 27:45Speaker 5: But even if you don't, Hey, starting gun with the
- 27:49Speaker 5: back next to you, get a quick shift. Let him
- 27:53Speaker 5: go back there in pistol and run zone, run power,
- 27:56Speaker 5: run counter. Everything can be run out of a pistol formation.
- 28:00Speaker 5: You can look free release him on a swing, getting
- 28:02Speaker 5: the ball right now, because if you have a back
- 28:05Speaker 5: that has a skill set and maybe you know what
- 28:08Speaker 5: you mainly do doesn't highlight his skill set. Well, when
- 28:13Speaker 5: he's in the game, you got a couple things, will
- 28:15Speaker 5: you switch it up? You don't fall in the tendencies.
- 28:18Speaker 5: But if you have multiple things up, you don't fall
- 28:20Speaker 5: in the tendencies.
- 28:21Speaker 4: And so I would say like.
- 28:22Speaker 5: For him, because he does have a very good skill set,
- 28:25Speaker 5: it's just maybe not matching up with what LSU has
- 28:27Speaker 5: done in the past.
- 28:28Speaker 7: And the running ball, it was all inside zone like
- 28:30Speaker 7: that side zone last year. We couldn't the inside zone
- 28:33Speaker 7: blocking scheme and the way we will ext you it
- 28:35Speaker 7: is not good Like he can't. He's one of those
- 28:38Speaker 7: backset isn't going to hit the get hit at the
- 28:42Speaker 7: line of scrimmage and figure out like bounce around to
- 28:44Speaker 7: find a hole to hit.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Like you got to rencounter with him, You got to
- 28:47Speaker 3: power with him.
- 28:47Speaker 7: You have to let the let the play develop and
- 28:51Speaker 7: then let him become a raging bull.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Yes, and just run straight down. He'll see red and go.
- 28:57Speaker 7: And if they can do that, like inside zone, if
- 29:00Speaker 7: we block it, well great, like the way we blocked
- 29:02Speaker 7: it last year. He's gonna run and he's gonna run
- 29:05Speaker 7: into the back of the guard. You get two yards,
- 29:06Speaker 7: he's gonna run in the back of the guard. He's
- 29:08Speaker 7: gonna hit the guard. The guard is gonna go because
- 29:10Speaker 7: he just got hitting the back by a big running
- 29:12Speaker 7: back and he's gonna like push the pile for a
- 29:14Speaker 7: yard and a half.
- 29:15Speaker 5: The play that you're talking about that you were at
- 29:17Speaker 5: camp and he had the highlight play that was a
- 29:18Speaker 5: swing pass right, get the ball to him in space
- 29:21Speaker 5: and let the big dog eat, as we like to
- 29:24Speaker 5: say here.
- 29:25Speaker 7: That is the kind of guy that DB's, especially later
- 29:30Speaker 7: in the game when like the that beginning of the game,
- 29:33Speaker 7: adrenaline stops running because like that happens in a big game.
- 29:37Speaker 7: You got the adrenaline, like you feel like you could
- 29:39Speaker 7: run to a wall on both sides of the ball.
- 29:41Speaker 7: That wears off. Eventually you get tired and it's like,
- 29:44Speaker 7: oh my god, this guy's fresh.
- 29:46Speaker 3: His jersey's clean.
- 29:48Speaker 7: It's beginning or mid second quarter and he is a
- 29:51Speaker 7: hoss and that dude is running down hill let me
- 29:54Speaker 7: And as a dB, you don't want to be in the.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Open field with a guy like that.
- 29:57Speaker 7: So I just think from a running game standpoint and
- 29:59Speaker 7: a change up standpoint, he could be a big difference
- 30:02Speaker 7: maker this year.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Brambo talks about kind of, you know, Caleb being compared
- 30:06Speaker 5: to Keelan Williams maybe like in the body type and
- 30:10Speaker 5: the look and looks incredible in his uniform. But I
- 30:12Speaker 5: would say his running style is is more like Charles
- 30:15Speaker 5: Scott where he wants contact, like Keilan was going to
- 30:20Speaker 5: run around, run around, gym past you, or Charles was like,
- 30:23Speaker 5: I'm going to find you, put crosshairs right there on
- 30:26Speaker 5: your chest and try to run through you.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Like it's different running style.
- 30:28Speaker 7: It kind of like both work, like you could have
- 30:30Speaker 7: scored a lot more touchdowns if you didn't like, oh
- 30:32Speaker 7: for sure, Phil and just try to find the nearest
- 30:34Speaker 7: person they.
- 30:35Speaker 5: No doubt, no doubt. I'll I'll never forget watching film
- 30:38Speaker 5: with Dually. He's like, hey, hes, you see all that
- 30:41Speaker 5: green grass right here. Yeah, that's what we're trying to
- 30:43Speaker 5: run towards, not the Georgia player.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, okay, got it. Noted.
- 30:48Speaker 7: So Caleb Jackson feels like that player. He is going
- 30:51Speaker 7: to look for contact as soon as he gets the
- 30:53Speaker 7: ball out in open space.
- 30:55Speaker 4: Yeah, look, which is great. Like you need running backs
- 30:58Speaker 4: like that.
- 30:58Speaker 5: I'm not saying you're not trying to score a touchdown,
- 31:00Speaker 5: but you need a tone setter. You need somebody that
- 31:03Speaker 5: the safety's like, you know what, man, I'm tired of this,
- 31:07Speaker 5: and so what do they start doing they start half
- 31:09Speaker 5: stepping into filling that gap, and then that's when Kale
- 31:11Speaker 5: Jackson puts a shoulder down, runs through a half tackle,
- 31:14Speaker 5: and then you know, run sixty yards.
- 31:16Speaker 4: So like he is crucial.
- 31:18Speaker 5: We talked about, you know, some of the defensive guys
- 31:20Speaker 5: who are crucial for LSU success. I know this isn't
- 31:23Speaker 5: a starter, and I think the first team running back
- 31:26Speaker 5: is going to be an All conference player, but Cayleb
- 31:29Speaker 5: Jackson is going to be huge to the success of
- 31:31Speaker 5: not just this offense, but the team and what he
- 31:33Speaker 5: can give you because he has got a great skill set.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Now he's got to take care of the football. He's
- 31:39Speaker 4: got to catch the football.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Like those are things for him individually, but if they
- 31:42Speaker 5: can find a way to get him involved, that's an
- 31:44Speaker 5: added weapon.
- 31:45Speaker 7: I would love to see him mid second quarter catch
- 31:48Speaker 7: a screen pass on the edge. I tell you, it's
- 31:51Speaker 7: just a tone cetter. It's like an enforcer going out there,
- 31:53Speaker 7: a little bit of a tones centter ooh.
- 31:54Speaker 3: A forcer.
- 31:56Speaker 4: I like that, like that little hockey term, big hockey guy.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Well, I mean he looks like an enforced a stickhead.
- 32:02Speaker 4: All right, let's let's take a.
- 32:04Speaker 5: Break before you continue on with that more OTB when
- 32:07Speaker 5: we come back here one of four five ESPN battery.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Off the bench stick puckhead.
- 32:13Speaker 4: I like that better. Yeah, don't be a puckhead.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Oh that was a stitchhead in baseball. You work.
- 32:18Speaker 4: This went straight through the Yeah, kind of like the stick.
- 32:21Speaker 5: Go to Central Plumbing dot Org. Two two five nine
- 32:25Speaker 5: eighty five fifty two is the twenty four to seven
- 32:29Speaker 5: three sixty five weekend holiday game day emergency service line.
- 32:34Speaker 5: No matter what, they're gonna answer, even if it's like
- 32:36Speaker 5: opening kickoff of the Clemson game.
- 32:38Speaker 3: It's like, oh, man, is anybody can to answer this phone?
- 32:40Speaker 3: They are.
- 32:41Speaker 5: They're gonna be there. Not only in emergencies though. If
- 32:44Speaker 5: you want to see what they can do for you
- 32:45Speaker 5: in the remodel game. If you want to go tankless
- 32:47Speaker 5: today with a tankless water heater, go to Central Plumbing
- 32:49Speaker 5: dot Org.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:51Speaker 7: Well, if you're anything like us, we it's late at night,
- 32:54Speaker 7: after dinner. We're washing dishes, we're washing clothes, kids are
- 32:57Speaker 7: taking baths like. We need as much hot water as
- 33:01Speaker 7: we can get. There ain't a hot water tank out
- 33:03Speaker 7: there that can fulfill the needs that the Flynn family has,
- 33:05Speaker 7: so we gotta go tankless. It's never ending hot water.
- 33:08Speaker 7: Give them a call, get a quote on it, see
- 33:10Speaker 7: what they can do. Central Plumbing dot Org.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU football twenty four to seven. You're
- 33:22Speaker 1: listening to Off the Bench.
- 33:35Speaker 8: I'll sit around.
- 33:36Speaker 12: And watch the tube, but nothing's on. I change that
- 33:42Speaker 12: Jens for two till my drums just for a bit.
- 33:52Speaker 12: I'll say the same.
- 33:55Speaker 3: In US with the lock doors and I'm.
- 34:04Speaker 5: All right, welcome back.
- 34:05Speaker 4: You know TV one O four five, ESPN bnrude.
- 34:08Speaker 7: This sounds like one of my favorite playlists to play
- 34:12Speaker 7: on whether whatever your music app of choices, which would
- 34:16Speaker 7: be nineties frat barbecue, which is one of my favorite
- 34:21Speaker 7: things to type.
- 34:21Speaker 4: In nineties frat barbecue.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Yeah, type it in.
- 34:24Speaker 9: So I don't have Spotify, but is this one of
- 34:26Speaker 9: those playlists that they make for you and they title
- 34:28Speaker 9: it or whatever.
- 34:29Speaker 7: Well, yeah, they make they make a lot of playlists,
- 34:32Speaker 7: but like user generated playlist That's why Spotify is kind
- 34:34Speaker 7: of cool. I don't know if you can do that
- 34:35Speaker 7: on Apple Music or not. So like anything I'm doing,
- 34:38Speaker 7: like if I'm at the office and I'm just like, hey,
- 34:41Speaker 7: I need some chill music at the office for Tuesday,
- 34:44Speaker 7: there is like chill Tuesday office music playlist like that
- 34:47Speaker 7: somebody in the world has made yeah, or hey, what
- 34:51Speaker 7: are you doing grilling steaks on a Sunday And there's
- 34:54Speaker 7: a grilling steaks on a Sunday playlist. Anything you're doing
- 34:58Speaker 7: or feeling, you just type it in. Somebody has made
- 35:01Speaker 7: a user playlist and you can listen to anybody's playlist
- 35:04Speaker 7: and anybody's made.
- 35:05Speaker 8: But they make you them too, right, Like there's like
- 35:08Speaker 8: and they have like goofy titles.
- 35:10Speaker 3: On the Spotify DJ which is kind of cool. He
- 35:15Speaker 3: gets on there, he's like, what's up.
- 35:18Speaker 7: Yeah, it's funny. He plays music, plays music right there.
- 35:22Speaker 7: But I'm kind of mad at Spotify right now. Why
- 35:25Speaker 7: because their family account is so not user friendly. So
- 35:31Speaker 7: I want a family account, Like when you get a
- 35:33Speaker 7: Netflix account, Like you turn on Netflix and you got mom,
- 35:37Speaker 7: dad and all the kids, like everybody's got their own profile. Well,
- 35:40Speaker 7: on the Spotify and you get the flap the family account,
- 35:44Speaker 7: you pay a little extra and they're like, okay, you
- 35:46Speaker 7: get all these profiles.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Well it doesn't work that way.
- 35:50Speaker 7: You have to like get your own email address and
- 35:52Speaker 7: sign in for each profile, even if it's a kid
- 35:54Speaker 7: and it just makes it really confusing. Like I don't
- 35:57Speaker 7: have to sign into my kid's account to see what
- 35:59Speaker 7: music is it?
- 36:00Speaker 3: None that.
- 36:00Speaker 7: Yeah, you can do parental controls and stuff. There's a
- 36:03Speaker 7: way around everything, right. I just wanted to be like,
- 36:05Speaker 7: go to Spotify and you hit the you know, top
- 36:08Speaker 7: right button and like the five profiles pop down, You
- 36:11Speaker 7: got you got stuff there. He's got all his music,
- 36:13Speaker 7: you got laces, you got mine, you got all our
- 36:15Speaker 7: music right there. I don't have to sign in get
- 36:17Speaker 7: my kid an email account. So it's just not user
- 36:21Speaker 7: friendly and it's dumb. So I'm mad at it.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Good an Apple and a larger team Apple Music, I
- 36:28Speaker 4: find it very user Do.
- 36:29Speaker 7: They have nineties for barbecue? Can you check that out?
- 36:31Speaker 7: That'd be a big big They have all kinds.
- 36:33Speaker 8: Of playlists, They have all kinds of playlists.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Someone asked, I mean I'm a.
- 36:39Speaker 8: Barbecue or like, I can see they.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Have sell me this tell me this pencil right now.
- 36:45Speaker 8: Well, the number one selling point would be that you
- 36:47Speaker 8: wouldn't have to deal with all of that with your family.
- 36:49Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 36:50Speaker 8: Like the music quality I think is yeah, the quality
- 36:53Speaker 8: is what.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Do you mean music quality? Spotify has every song.
- 36:57Speaker 8: Like the sound of it.
- 36:59Speaker 3: The sound of it.
- 36:59Speaker 2: It's your headphones.
- 37:01Speaker 8: Maybe I think what that means that barbecue party?
- 37:05Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 37:06Speaker 7: The sound quality, Like you're streaming something, there's only a
- 37:10Speaker 7: certain quality you can get to a stream. It's kind
- 37:12Speaker 7: of like when you buy like the ultimate premium.
- 37:15Speaker 5: Like live versions of songs like in the Apple Music
- 37:19Speaker 5: like studios sometimes like I have that.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 37:21Speaker 7: Okay, So when you go TV shopping, like never buy
- 37:25Speaker 7: the premium TV because like they have these premium TVs.
- 37:28Speaker 3: You can buy, you know, any side. You can buy
- 37:30Speaker 3: sixty five h TV for like four hundred bucks, five
- 37:32Speaker 3: hundred bucks. They also have one for like four thousand
- 37:35Speaker 3: dollars a jigabyt.
- 37:36Speaker 7: Don't do it because with streaming there's only a certain
- 37:39Speaker 7: mount Like there's only a certain level of quality you
- 37:41Speaker 7: can get to.
- 37:42Speaker 3: So unless you're like playing I don't know.
- 37:45Speaker 9: We also have like spatial I don't know if Spotify
- 37:47Speaker 9: has it, but they have like that spatial audio thing
- 37:50Speaker 9: where you can h like you have to measure your
- 37:55Speaker 9: you know how, like whenever you're doing the face idea
- 37:57Speaker 9: or whatever, and it makes you do your face like
- 37:59Speaker 9: this and you turn your head and all that okay,
- 38:01Speaker 9: So you can do that with Apple Music, and it's
- 38:03Speaker 9: like spatial audio, so you can hear it like certain
- 38:06Speaker 9: aspects of the song and certain sides of the headphone.
- 38:10Speaker 3: If that if I'm turning my head No, no, no, just.
- 38:13Speaker 9: In general, like once you do it, they make you
- 38:15Speaker 9: do that to get your like I guess measurements.
- 38:19Speaker 8: Yeah, and then so after you do that, they have
- 38:21Speaker 8: the spatial audio. I don't know if Spotify has that.
- 38:24Speaker 3: But sounds like pretty cool.
- 38:26Speaker 7: Sounds like marketing pitch you like, pretty based on the
- 38:31Speaker 7: shape of my face, it's gonna play music.
- 38:33Speaker 8: I'm probably explaining that big head.
- 38:36Speaker 4: I mean, I've got a big head.
- 38:37Speaker 3: It's true.
- 38:39Speaker 5: I mean you got headphones in right now, look like
- 38:41Speaker 5: you're about to break into don't stop believing, you know
- 38:44Speaker 5: on stage? Got the like real professional looking Oh yeah,
- 38:47Speaker 5: musician headphones.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Hey.
- 38:48Speaker 7: I got these on Amazon when I first started here.
- 38:51Speaker 7: I know, I think they were twenty four ninety nine.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Yeah, not bad.
- 38:55Speaker 7: They look prof They look like I went to the
- 38:59Speaker 7: I don't know you would go the doctor and get
- 39:01Speaker 7: like the plaster put in my ear to have the
- 39:03Speaker 7: custom made ones, yeah, but they're not. These are stock
- 39:08Speaker 7: from Amazon. They do wrap around the ear though, which
- 39:12Speaker 7: is very nice. Hard to find earbuds that have just
- 39:17Speaker 7: the regular plug these days. Most earbuds that you're gonna
- 39:20Speaker 7: get out there at the store especially. I went to
- 39:21Speaker 7: like three stores. All of them are Bluetooth these days.
- 39:25Speaker 7: Hard to find one with a wire that it is.
- 39:28Speaker 4: That's why these are from twenty eleven at least.
- 39:31Speaker 7: Yeah, So the only shot you got is going to
- 39:33Speaker 7: Amazon buying something like this, or I looked for some
- 39:36Speaker 7: beats by Dre with the wire. I had to go
- 39:39Speaker 7: to eBay to find that. I bought a pair, and
- 39:42Speaker 7: the guy bought it from was like, hey, you sure
- 39:44Speaker 7: you want these? It says right there in the listing
- 39:46Speaker 7: that the right one doesn't work. Like nah, I thought
- 39:50Speaker 7: I was just kidding a good deal. I was a
- 39:53Speaker 7: good deal for none that none good good deal.
- 39:56Speaker 3: So I got these. Didn't even try him, didn't even
- 40:01Speaker 3: test him out anyway. Apple Apple Music, huh, yeah, so
- 40:11Speaker 3: they have a DJ. I'm sure you can figure something.
- 40:14Speaker 4: I mean, do you really need a DJ?
- 40:15Speaker 3: Be Like, what's up, Lynn? Do you need that?
- 40:18Speaker 4: Like?
- 40:18Speaker 5: I'll just record it like we did the Dear Delandre
- 40:23Speaker 5: sound and you can just play it before Yeah, it
- 40:26Speaker 5: feels like he really knows me though he doesn't.
- 40:29Speaker 8: He doesn't he's a I, he's not GBT knows me.
- 40:34Speaker 4: That's true in the wrong direction, many many times.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I absolutely love that guy. Yeah, I don't think.
- 40:42Speaker 8: I don't love the way you're talking about a I.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Right now, I'm gingdering a I A. You are whatever
- 40:50Speaker 3: gender you want it to be. People. So when we
- 40:53Speaker 3: come back, I think it was I think it was
- 40:56Speaker 3: our guy. Mall. Yeah.
- 40:57Speaker 5: Chris Marler put it out on Louisiana Sports dot Net.
- 40:59Speaker 5: He gave the power rankings for the SEC.
- 41:03Speaker 3: I want to have a.
- 41:04Speaker 5: Different look at the power rankings. I don't really care
- 41:07Speaker 5: right now who's number one, Like we'll tell you who's
- 41:09Speaker 5: number one. But I got a different question that I
- 41:12Speaker 5: want to ask the room when we come back here
- 41:13Speaker 5: on OTV. Off the bench, all right, go to Russell
- 41:20Speaker 5: Pools dot com. That is the website for Russell Pool Company.
- 41:24Speaker 5: They are the best in the business. Two two five
- 41:26Speaker 5: at nine two four two five two seven is the number.
- 41:30Speaker 5: They are there from the start to the finish and
- 41:32Speaker 5: everywhere in between. And then when you get done with
- 41:34Speaker 5: the pool, remember they are there from the maintenance portion
- 41:37Speaker 5: as well. Truly that one stop shop that we always
- 41:39Speaker 5: talk about. Great financing options right there on the homepage
- 41:42Speaker 5: of the website, you can find all of that. You
- 41:45Speaker 5: can find a gallery of work on their homepage. You'll
- 41:47Speaker 5: be blown away as you'll notice no two pools look
- 41:50Speaker 5: alike here if you're watching on YouTube, because they can
- 41:53Speaker 5: customize your pool to your dream.
- 41:55Speaker 7: They will take your dream, what you're thinking of in
- 41:58Speaker 7: your head, what you've always wanted, they can take get
- 42:00Speaker 7: to reality. They got two landscape architects right there on
- 42:03Speaker 7: staff to literally draw it, to build it, to design
- 42:05Speaker 7: it everything. Don't take our word for goo. Their website,
- 42:08Speaker 7: see their gallery, see their financing options. When it comes
- 42:11Speaker 7: to quality pools in Louisiana, Russell Pool Company is your
- 42:14Speaker 7: only choice.
- 42:15Speaker 3: That is Russellpools dot Com.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU Football twenty four to seven. You're
- 42:24Speaker 1: listening to Off the Bench.
- 42:35Speaker 10: Jerry.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Forget about the things I said when.
- 42:38Speaker 4: I talk You didn't mean to call you that.
- 42:45Speaker 8: I can't remember what was said or what.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Nighty sprap haarbcue.
- 43:16Speaker 5: All right, welcome back in OTV one of four five
- 43:18Speaker 5: ESPN Betton Rouge. As I said, our guy Chris Marler
- 43:21Speaker 5: has a great article up right now. Our power ranking
- 43:24Speaker 5: the SEC goes all the way from sixteen down to
- 43:27Speaker 5: number one, and a lot of shows probably go all
- 43:29Speaker 5: the way to number one. They probably highlight the best
- 43:31Speaker 5: team that is on the power rankings, and you break
- 43:33Speaker 5: down and you argue and you whatever whatever about it.
- 43:36Speaker 5: That's not the style of OTV. We are going to
- 43:38Speaker 5: go around the room and we are going to give
- 43:40Speaker 5: the absolute worst team in the SEC. Who do we
- 43:44Speaker 5: think is going to finish at the very bottom of
- 43:47Speaker 5: the standings.
- 43:49Speaker 4: Hey, take, because I know you've always got a take
- 43:50Speaker 4: ready to go? Who you got, sir?
- 43:52Speaker 2: The Kentucky Wildcats. I have at number sixteen.
- 43:55Speaker 6: I considered Mississippi State, but Blake Shapin eleven touchdowns only
- 43:59Speaker 6: one pick until he got last year.
- 44:02Speaker 2: I'm going Kentucky. Their quarterback situation is atrocious.
- 44:04Speaker 5: Yes, bad, it's bad bad, It is bad bad, it
- 44:07Speaker 5: is actively horrible.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah that call?
- 44:10Speaker 4: I yes, he still plays college football?
- 44:12Speaker 3: What the same one? Uh?
- 44:13Speaker 4: Yeah, he's like twelve school a laundrop.
- 44:17Speaker 8: I'm gonna go Auburn.
- 44:18Speaker 12: Oh I like that.
- 44:21Speaker 9: Okay, Kentucky is a good pick for finishing last, but
- 44:26Speaker 9: I'm gonna go Auburn.
- 44:27Speaker 12: I like that.
- 44:28Speaker 3: I like that they got it.
- 44:29Speaker 5: They got a different coach, they got a different coach
- 44:31Speaker 5: calling every down, first, second down, third down. Never heard that.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Is horrible that we ever figured out who's got fourth
- 44:40Speaker 3: We did not lank it and asked the question question.
- 44:44Speaker 8: Maybe it's like a committee.
- 44:46Speaker 2: They're keeping all of them.
- 44:48Speaker 13: They're keeping that they're gonna be the best fourth down
- 44:50Speaker 13: team in the country. I got to keep people guessing,
- 44:52Speaker 13: keep them on their toes. All right, Matthew, all right, Okay,
- 44:57Speaker 13: I can't say Kentucky. It's been taken.
- 44:59Speaker 7: I wasn't gonna say Auburn because they might be a
- 45:01Speaker 7: little surprised this year. I'm not gonnay Misisippi State because
- 45:04Speaker 7: my boy, Jeff Levitt, we're gonna go with Arkansas.
- 45:12Speaker 3: Arkansas.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Arkansas is gonna be the worst.
- 45:17Speaker 9: We haven't even talked about Taylor Green, not once, because
- 45:22Speaker 9: we know what he is.
- 45:23Speaker 2: And he's outstanding the marriage.
- 45:26Speaker 3: So I think Arkansas and Kentucky probably gonna be battling
- 45:28Speaker 3: it out.
- 45:29Speaker 7: And just for no reason at all, I'm just gonna
- 45:32Speaker 7: say Missippi State is gonna be the third worst.
- 45:36Speaker 5: I'm not going to Mississippi State because I'm not gonna
- 45:38Speaker 5: hate on Jeff Levy. I'm not gonna hate on Shreveport
- 45:41Speaker 5: evangel and Blake Shaping. So I am going to give
- 45:44Speaker 5: a boring answer and agree with tat Now. Y'all know
- 45:46Speaker 5: I've given Kentucky a lot of love over the years,
- 45:49Speaker 5: but I'm going to agree with Taylor. They're going to
- 45:52Speaker 5: be the worst team in the SEC, which I hate
- 45:54Speaker 5: for my guy Mark Stoops.
- 45:55Speaker 4: I love that guy, but they have no juice. It's
- 45:58Speaker 4: gonna be the Kentucky Wildcat off the bench.
- 46:03Speaker 3: That's a tough one.
- 46:04Speaker 4: When we come back in an hour three, we're gonna
- 46:05Speaker 4: have a little weekend winners, all right. Go to KTOZ
- 46:09Speaker 4: Blinds dot com.
