- 0:33What's going on, everybody?
- 0:35It is lunchtime again.
- 0:36It is Monday.
- 0:39Just getting into the week.
- 0:41Man, it is.
- 0:43I am like hanging on by a thread.
- 0:45I drove to Pennsylvania to
- 0:47drop our dog off with my mom.
- 0:49Hung out with my mom for a little bit.
- 0:51Drove back yesterday.
- 0:52Watched some football.
- 0:53Did the show last night.
- 0:55Got off the show.
- 0:56Watched a wild,
- 0:57wild football game where
- 0:59the Bills had no business
- 1:01being in the game.
- 1:02Came back at the end of
- 1:04that game to win um then had
- 1:07a hard time falling asleep
- 1:08after that uh and then up
- 1:11and started my work day
- 1:12today and yeah hanging on
- 1:14by a thread but what a
- 1:17crazy NFL week start man um
- 1:19everybody all off season
- 1:21saying that Aaron Rogers
- 1:22was too old uh that the
- 1:24Steelers were in trouble um
- 1:28And then he throws four
- 1:28touchdown passes on the opening weekend.
- 1:32Josh Allen just seemingly
- 1:34out of the game last night,
- 1:36brings his team all the way
- 1:37back for a win that just
- 1:39shouldn't have happened.
- 1:41An eighty one point scored in that game.
- 1:45Holy cow.
- 1:45Like just craziness.
- 1:47And then my bears go tonight
- 1:50against the Minnesota Vikings.
- 1:52Yeah.
- 1:53can't wait to see what they
- 1:54look like with their new
- 1:55head coach um been waiting
- 1:57a long time for this hate
- 1:59that like my team started
- 2:01on monday night um I wish
- 2:03they would have started on
- 2:04the weekend as the older I
- 2:06get the less I like
- 2:07primetime games when I was
- 2:08in like college and stuff I
- 2:10loved when my team was on
- 2:12primetime stay up late watch the stuff um
- 2:18And now, like, I don't want to lose sleep.
- 2:21But tonight,
- 2:22I'll be up till midnight
- 2:23because that's when the
- 2:24game will go to and then
- 2:26have to rally again tomorrow.
- 2:28So, NAI, one, I'm jazzed for tonight.
- 2:34Two, if Bears win,
- 2:36can we see the Hiller-Bajan clip?
- 2:38I don't own the Hiller agent clip.
- 2:41Um, that is owned by Andrew Hiller.
- 2:45Um, he has it.
- 2:46I have not seen it since it was recorded,
- 2:49but it looks like this.
- 2:54So bear down.
- 2:57Um, so yeah.
- 3:01Uh, if I had it, I would show it.
- 3:04Um, you know, me, um,
- 3:08I'm the most socially
- 3:09awkward podcaster in the space.
- 3:11And, um, I don't mind showing my faults,
- 3:15uh, to the world.
- 3:16I just don't own the clip to
- 3:18be able to show it.
- 3:22Uh, we've got tons of people in that.
- 3:24We've got Ed, we've got train olive.
- 3:26We've got Megan, we've got Vicki, uh,
- 3:29plant powered fitness.
- 3:31Um, yeah.
- 3:33Rogers couldn't do that for the jets.
- 3:35He could not train all of
- 3:39nothing can help the jets.
- 3:41That's seemingly what Justin
- 3:42Fields look great.
- 3:46I was a big Justin Fields
- 3:47fan when he was in Chicago.
- 3:49Now that we have some other,
- 3:52now Caleb Williams and both Tyson Bajent,
- 3:54I think are really, really good.
- 3:57And so it's okay that he's gone.
- 3:59But when they first got rid of him,
- 4:00I was really bummed.
- 4:01I thought he had a future
- 4:03and he looked really good yesterday.
- 4:05So hopefully he has found
- 4:08his way from first round
- 4:10pick into something that is
- 4:13sustainable in the NFL.
- 4:23Sabrina S.,
- 4:24this is my current favorite podcast.
- 4:26Just wanted you to know,
- 4:27please take this as a compliment.
- 4:28Something about it reminds
- 4:29me of watching Mr. Rogers'
- 4:30Neighborhood at Lunch when I was a kid.
- 4:34Hey, I'm a Western Pennsylvania guy.
- 4:36Mr. Rogers is a Western Pennsylvania guy.
- 4:39We love Mr. Rogers.
- 4:41Um,
- 4:42but I'm probably not going to sing
- 4:45where's Thumpkin or any of that.
- 4:47Um,
- 4:48but maybe I'll get a trolley installed
- 4:50for behind me, uh,
- 4:52to take us to the land of make-believe.
- 4:59Uh,
- 4:59Jay Birchbill's comeback put me over
- 5:01the top on my fantasy team.
- 5:03Yeah.
- 5:03Uh,
- 5:04I played Jose Vela.
- 5:07He owns Valens Media.
- 5:09He is a listener.
- 5:11I've worked with him on the
- 5:12Hattie Project.
- 5:13He crushed me last night.
- 5:15Crushed me.
- 5:16I would need an amazing
- 5:19finish for DJ Moore tonight
- 5:21to even be competitive.
- 5:26Oh, that's sweet.
- 5:27We all want to be Scott's neighbor.
- 5:29That's cool.
- 5:36Yes, need a trolley.
- 5:37Yeah, there we go.
- 5:38I'll see if I can find one.
- 5:42Go Bear, Chicago Guru.
- 5:44Jen just became my favorite,
- 5:46favorite person in the chat.
- 5:48Sorry, guys.
- 5:57Sean in Oregon,
- 5:58proud to now support you as
- 5:59a paying member.
- 6:00Thanks for all you do in the
- 6:01CrossFit Space, Scott.
- 6:02Thank you.
- 6:03Thank you for being a member.
- 6:05We're up to forty members now.
- 6:06That's really cool.
- 6:08You don't know what that
- 6:10means because it actually
- 6:11just pays for the
- 6:12subscriptions of the
- 6:14services we use to get on the air.
- 6:16And that really helps us out tremendously.
- 6:19so thank you to everybody
- 6:20who's a member and I,
- 6:22I'm going to try to keep doing stuff, uh,
- 6:24to give you some content early, um,
- 6:27and let you see something.
- 6:28So very, very, very cool.
- 6:32Uh, so yeah.
- 6:34Um, the land of make-believe is here.
- 6:37We all think CrossFit has a new,
- 6:39has a new owner.
- 6:43Um, yeah, I don't know.
- 6:46I don't know what's going on there.
- 6:49Today was kind of going to
- 6:50be my old man yell at the clouds episode.
- 6:54Because you guys are like my therapy too.
- 6:56Like this is where I kind of
- 6:58come and bounce things off.
- 7:01And so I started my work day today.
- 7:04where we have people.
- 7:08So right now I'm working
- 7:10where I test systems for where I work.
- 7:14And there's people who want
- 7:16grammar check added to our system.
- 7:21And because of the way the state works,
- 7:23because I work for the state of Ohio,
- 7:25we can't use AI because it
- 7:27can't be completely trusted.
- 7:29So there's a couple pieces
- 7:31of AI that we're allowed to
- 7:32use and most of the stuff we're not.
- 7:36And what's crazy to me is
- 7:40One,
- 7:42they want this on the case notes
- 7:43portion of our case management system.
- 7:46Where did the expectation
- 7:48come where case notes need
- 7:49to be in complete sentences?
- 7:53Like if you're case managing
- 7:55somebody or you go to the
- 7:56doctor's office and they
- 7:57take notes on your visit,
- 7:59it's usually shorthand
- 8:00anyway or some kind of like
- 8:02thing that's meaningful to you.
- 8:04Or if someone has to take over your case,
- 8:05they're able to pick it up.
- 8:07And now they want grammar
- 8:09check on that done by AI, like Grammarly,
- 8:12if you've ever seen that
- 8:13out there on the market.
- 8:17I'm so old school.
- 8:18Like, I just...
- 8:21I write my own stuff.
- 8:22I cannot use AI or chat GPT
- 8:24or any of that stuff to
- 8:26kind of do that stuff for me.
- 8:30It doesn't feel authentic
- 8:32and it doesn't feel like
- 8:33it's me or my words.
- 8:35And so I'm having a hard
- 8:38time embracing that new
- 8:41thing that's coming in to
- 8:43our world and trusting that
- 8:45it's going to do it the way
- 8:47that I think it needs to be done.
- 8:52Um, so I just,
- 8:56I'm curious on your thoughts on AI.
- 8:57Does anybody use it
- 8:58regularly for something
- 9:00like professional or do you
- 9:02just use it for fun?
- 9:04The only thing I use AI for
- 9:06is to create the cartoons
- 9:08on my thumbnail.
- 9:14Sean in Oregon,
- 9:15using AI at work makes me
- 9:17so productive I can take
- 9:19time to watch your show.
- 9:20Okay, then I love AI.
- 9:22There we go.
- 9:23I take it all back.
- 9:28I feel like most writing
- 9:29programs platforms now have AI.
- 9:31Like it just seems to be everywhere.
- 9:39It's because a big wig wants
- 9:40to read the shorthand notes
- 9:41and feel like they know what is going on.
- 9:45That's probably it.
- 9:46You've probably nailed it completely.
- 9:50And this is what the excuses are giving us,
- 9:52is that a customer can
- 9:54request a copy of their case notes.
- 9:57Now,
- 9:57that happens maybe like one in every
- 9:59couple thousand.
- 10:01But why would you change the
- 10:03way you do everything for
- 10:06that one in a couple
- 10:07thousand chance that
- 10:09someone's going to ask for
- 10:09their case notes?
- 10:11It doesn't make a lot of sense, but...
- 10:16Holly, as a librarian, so many thoughts.
- 10:23Corey Leonard, I never used Allen Iverson.
- 10:25Yeah.
- 10:26But you know what?
- 10:27It's just practice.
- 10:29Just practice.
- 10:35I use AI all day at work.
- 10:39AI does a lot of my research
- 10:40and writes the reports.
- 10:43Um, trained all of,
- 10:44I use Grammarly for work,
- 10:45but mostly for spellcheck purposes,
- 10:47not ever to write for me.
- 10:51Uh, I use AI.
- 10:52I am AI.
- 10:54That's very inception Lake there.
- 11:00Uh,
- 11:03it's built into search engines and MS
- 11:04office.
- 11:05Now it's ubiquitous, Scott.
- 11:07I, I know it's everywhere.
- 11:09It really is.
- 11:14My husband's a teacher.
- 11:15He said AI can be a blessing or a curse.
- 11:18You know,
- 11:19I actually have a friend who's a
- 11:20college professor.
- 11:22What's crazy is they
- 11:23actually have software now
- 11:24that can detect if AI was
- 11:25used to write the paper.
- 11:27So we had to create
- 11:28technology so people could write papers.
- 11:31And now we have to create
- 11:32technology to see if they
- 11:34use the technology to
- 11:35create the paper so that
- 11:37they don't get credit for
- 11:38something they didn't actually do.
- 11:43It is...
- 11:45It's such a vicious circle and, um,
- 11:54I make AI for maps,
- 11:55but use AI to figure it out.
- 12:00Okay.
- 12:02There we go.
- 12:08My husband's papers,
- 12:09which I watched him write,
- 12:10got flagged as AI.
- 12:12Oh, that's crazy.
- 12:15That is crazy.
- 12:22It isn't that hard to figure
- 12:23out if AI wrote something.
- 12:24Just look at CompTrain's
- 12:25weekly class programming.
- 12:33I'm basically using AI to lose my job.
- 12:35Isn't that scary?
- 12:38Shannon, I don't use it at all.
- 12:40Literally, Shannon, I'm with you.
- 12:42The only thing I use it for
- 12:43is to make my thumbnails for this show.
- 12:46I just use it to make a
- 12:48cartoon of me doing different things.
- 12:56Shoot,
- 12:57even autocorrect has been a
- 12:58detriment to society as a whole.
- 12:59People can't write in
- 13:00sentences or spell properly.
- 13:02Makes me crazy.
- 13:03You know what's crazy is
- 13:04like the spell check on something.
- 13:07Are you ever writing a paper
- 13:09and you get to a word and
- 13:10you don't know how to spell
- 13:11it and you're trying just
- 13:13to get close enough to the
- 13:15spell check that it can
- 13:17determine what you're trying to say,
- 13:19but you're so far off that it's like,
- 13:21I ain't got a clue.
- 13:24I have no idea what word
- 13:27you're trying to put in here.
- 13:30Those are my frustrating days.
- 13:39It's okay, John.
- 13:40You can be late.
- 13:42We don't take attendance at
- 13:43the beginning of class.
- 13:44No burpee penalty here.
- 13:49Yeah, Jay Burch, Skynet is coming.
- 13:55My wife uses occasionally to
- 13:57write an email into someone
- 13:59in order to tell them to F off,
- 14:00but in a professional manner.
- 14:04I know my boss has used it
- 14:06for that to like tone down his emails.
- 14:17Spell check.
- 14:17It's never duck.
- 14:19I know.
- 14:20I know.
- 14:20All right.
- 14:25So that is that.
- 14:28Let's move on to something else.
- 14:31One thing I wanted to share with you guys,
- 14:33and this, again, is part of my therapy.
- 14:34I don't know.
- 14:37We'll see where it goes.
- 14:39So you all know that I love
- 14:42the Masters Division of CrossFit.
- 14:45And when I found out they
- 14:46were going to be here in Columbus,
- 14:48I reached out to the event
- 14:50coordinators and said, hey, I live here.
- 14:53If there's anything you need,
- 14:55let me know because I can
- 14:57go research something for you.
- 14:59I can look around for you.
- 15:00And they came back with, hey,
- 15:03we're really struggling to
- 15:05find DJs for the event.
- 15:08And I said, well,
- 15:08give me twenty four hours.
- 15:11And so I thought about it and I'm like,
- 15:13my wife used to work at a
- 15:14media school doing the financial aid.
- 15:18And I said to her, you guys train DJs,
- 15:22right?
- 15:22Like, and she said, yeah.
- 15:24And so we called the media school.
- 15:27We told them what was coming
- 15:29and we connected the media
- 15:30school with the event
- 15:33coordinators for the age
- 15:34group CrossFit games.
- 15:36When I was talking to the media school,
- 15:38they said, do they do a broadcast?
- 15:40Can we get kids there to
- 15:42cover the event to give
- 15:45them internship credit for
- 15:48while they're doing their degree?
- 15:50And I said, well, I don't run the event,
- 15:52but I can pass that along
- 15:54to the event coordinators.
- 15:55And then you guys can talk about that.
- 15:59So it turns out I'm at the
- 16:00event and I'm talking to
- 16:01Tommy Marquez and I never
- 16:04heard anything back from
- 16:04the event coordinators
- 16:05after I made the connection,
- 16:07which is fine.
- 16:09I'm talking to Tommy Marquez
- 16:10at the event and here
- 16:12they're using the interns
- 16:13from the school to do the
- 16:15broadcast of the age group
- 16:16CrossFit games.
- 16:19meaning they're unpaid
- 16:22interns that are doing this event.
- 16:26Now,
- 16:26I think they did hire a person to kind
- 16:29of coordinate it all and
- 16:30bring the equipment in,
- 16:32and then the kids did a lot of the work.
- 16:35But I just want to, one thing,
- 16:37I'm really proud that this
- 16:40was an alternative that they found,
- 16:43and it had to be cheaper.
- 16:46And if you didn't watch the
- 16:47age group CrossFit Games,
- 16:50Um, this is,
- 16:52I'm going to blow this up a little bit.
- 16:54So this is what these kids did.
- 16:56And this is the live stream that they did.
- 17:00This, this leaderboard,
- 17:02the down the side is the
- 17:04best one that I've seen in
- 17:05any CrossFit competition.
- 17:07You can see these yellow
- 17:08lines here are the
- 17:10different apparatus in the event.
- 17:13So these three,
- 17:15Lowe, Hughes,
- 17:16and Smith were on the bag carry.
- 17:21Below this line were the
- 17:23people doing the burpees,
- 17:24and that's the thing that they were on.
- 17:26So it says what it is,
- 17:27and it says how many reps
- 17:29of the total they had.
- 17:32It also,
- 17:33if you had a green mark by your number,
- 17:36meant you were moving up the leaderboard.
- 17:38If you had a red mark on yours,
- 17:39you were moving down the leaderboard.
- 17:43Above that,
- 17:44they have the age group that's going,
- 17:47the time clock with the cap,
- 17:49what heat it is, and all of that.
- 17:53And then the event up here above.
- 17:58So they did that.
- 17:59The graphics were awesome in this.
- 18:05And it was all put on.
- 18:08Now,
- 18:08Anderson is telling me it was a
- 18:09different company that did the scoring.
- 18:11Okay, I'll give credit where it is due.
- 18:13Whoever did the scoring should get kudos.
- 18:16It was amazing.
- 18:17But anyway, these kids did all this stuff.
- 18:21Then I'm listening to Get
- 18:21With The Programming,
- 18:23and Chase is talking about
- 18:24these interns that were
- 18:25brought in to help with the
- 18:26broadcast and do all of this stuff.
- 18:30one proud of those kids I
- 18:31was I was there I watched
- 18:33them hustling all over the
- 18:34floor running up and down
- 18:36the stairs in the stands to
- 18:38get to cameras to move
- 18:39cameras to do stuff and
- 18:41these kids had no idea what
- 18:42crossfit was they had to
- 18:44learn on the fly and it was
- 18:47really really cool and I'm
- 18:51really glad that I was able
- 18:52to make that connection
- 18:56But I'm just going to throw
- 18:56this out to you guys.
- 18:57You guys all know that I
- 18:59went there to cover this
- 19:00event and I basically got
- 19:02spectator access.
- 19:04My five foot one
- 19:05videographer had to try to
- 19:07get above people around
- 19:10people to get shots of
- 19:12things on the floor.
- 19:14It was very frustrating at times.
- 19:17And I feel like if I bring a
- 19:20suggestion like that to
- 19:21help improve your life,
- 19:24why is it that I have to
- 19:25struggle on the other end
- 19:27to get just basic access?
- 19:31I can put my feelings aside, I guess,
- 19:33for now.
- 19:34And I'm just glad that they
- 19:35got to do this and they got
- 19:37their internships and they
- 19:38got something out of this
- 19:39and they learned on a real
- 19:42event how to do a stream.
- 19:45And it just made me proud
- 19:47that those kids got to do
- 19:48that and that they actually
- 19:49reached out to them and did that.
- 19:52And then for me,
- 19:54I'm still a little butthurt
- 19:55over the lack of access and
- 19:58how frustrating it was to
- 20:00get an answer if I had access,
- 20:02what it meant, what it was,
- 20:05and then really butthurt
- 20:07that the stuff that we put
- 20:09out doesn't get shared by
- 20:11the event coordinators at all.
- 20:13And I don't want it shared for me.
- 20:16I want it shared for the
- 20:17Denise's of the world,
- 20:18for the Cindy's of the world,
- 20:20for the Jamie's, the Carolyn's.
- 20:22These people had a dream and they want,
- 20:26they deserve some recognition for it.
- 20:29And the fact that none of
- 20:30that gets shared after the fact really,
- 20:32really makes me butt hurt.
- 20:40So that's, um,
- 20:44That's what's crazy to me.
- 20:47And I'm really struggling
- 20:48with how much I enjoyed the
- 20:50fact that they use them
- 20:51with how much that lack of
- 20:54cooperation we got to come
- 20:56there and cover it as a partner.
- 21:01So you guys are my therapy.
- 21:03I just had to get that off my chest.
- 21:05Yeah, it's awesome.
- 21:09They got real world
- 21:09experience and such and a
- 21:11great alternative.
- 21:15Did the interns get
- 21:16something out of doing the
- 21:16event good training.
- 21:18Yeah, they, they got,
- 21:20you're not allowed they're
- 21:21not allowed to be paid,
- 21:23but they got the experience,
- 21:24and they go up they went
- 21:26above and beyond and from
- 21:28all accounts did an amazing job.
- 21:31If you talk to Tommy and
- 21:32chase the kids were like
- 21:34sponges trying to learn
- 21:36everything and do a good thing.
- 21:43Um,
- 21:44ESPN gave athletic department streamer
- 21:46K for streaming equipment.
- 21:47So they did not need to send
- 21:49the broadcast trucks and
- 21:50travel production crews.
- 21:52I told Castro to consider
- 21:53when picking games venues.
- 21:57Wow.
- 22:04It's just so odd with all you do.
- 22:07Caitlin did amazing, though.
- 22:09I felt so bad for her.
- 22:11And if you look at a lot of her footage,
- 22:13people walk in front of her all the time.
- 22:15And she's just so tiny,
- 22:17and she's trying to get the
- 22:19footage that we need.
- 22:20And it's just...
- 22:26I don't need to go to name calling John,
- 22:27but it's just another
- 22:29example who are running the show.
- 22:31I hope those kids were
- 22:32appreciated and treated the
- 22:34way they treated you weren't.
- 22:36I hope you said.
- 22:41Yeah.
- 22:45It goes to show what kind of
- 22:46person you are and what kind of people.
- 22:48Yeah.
- 22:50I'm not trying to name names.
- 22:51I'm not trying to blast anybody.
- 22:53I just, I just wish that.
- 22:56If you're going to run the event,
- 22:58then love the people that
- 22:59you're covering.
- 23:01You're doing this event for
- 23:02this group of people,
- 23:04and you should be sharing
- 23:05everything you can that
- 23:06promotes them and what they do.
- 23:12And outside media doesn't
- 23:13mean we're there to hurt you.
- 23:15It means we're there to partner with you.
- 23:19And that's why I was trying
- 23:20to do things like this to
- 23:23show my loyalty to them
- 23:25that I was not there to bash them.
- 23:28I was not there to rip on them.
- 23:30I was there to cover this
- 23:31event and share what
- 23:33amazing things these
- 23:34Masters athletes can do.
- 23:38So, that's that.
- 23:43That's my little therapy
- 23:44session with you guys today.
- 23:47The Glenn things and Jenny
- 23:49from dense updates did a
- 23:50show yesterday where Facundo came on.
- 23:54He was asked if he had seen
- 23:57the rich podcast with
- 23:58coffee pods and wads and he had,
- 24:01and he actually said that
- 24:03he is now texted rich and
- 24:05they have been texting since then.
- 24:08So that has been rectified
- 24:10to some degree and,
- 24:12At what level, I don't know.
- 24:15But at least they're talking again.
- 24:17We talked about that last
- 24:18night on the show that Rich
- 24:22had said that he had not
- 24:23talked to Facundo very much.
- 24:28And apparently now they are talking again.
- 24:31And they're both going to be
- 24:32at Coach's Conference, I think,
- 24:34at the end of this week or next week,
- 24:35something like that.
- 24:40So...
- 24:46Scoring Kairos was
- 24:48responsible for the scoring graphics.
- 24:50Feliz is a whiz with that stuff.
- 24:53Kudos to them.
- 24:54That is the best scoreboard
- 24:56live scoring I've ever seen
- 24:58for a CrossFit event.
- 25:00And I think it should be
- 25:00adopted by everybody immediately.
- 25:08so they also asked him about the sale.
- 25:10They asked him about his
- 25:11relationship with Malik.
- 25:13They tried to get details
- 25:14there and Facundo danced
- 25:17around that quite a bit.
- 25:19Um,
- 25:22He also said that he's
- 25:23taking some time to
- 25:24consider what he wants his
- 25:26twenty twenty six season to look like,
- 25:28that he did a lot of
- 25:29programming for different events,
- 25:31spent a lot of time away from home.
- 25:33And as his daughters are getting older,
- 25:36he just can't do that anymore.
- 25:39So we're going to see what
- 25:41that looks like in the future.
- 25:43But.
- 25:44It also kind of says that
- 25:46he's kind of open to some
- 25:47other opportunities that
- 25:49he's kind of a guy that bounces around.
- 25:50He was a music.
- 25:52He, he was like into learning music.
- 25:56He was into parliament.
- 25:57He was into going to mayhem.
- 26:03He's bounced around a lot
- 26:05because of a lot of different interests.
- 26:07And he's been at mayhem since what,
- 26:10for about ten years now.
- 26:12And
- 26:14To me, it sounds like,
- 26:15and this is just my interpretation of it,
- 26:17is that he's open to some other things.
- 26:21And I would not be surprised
- 26:23if he went to do something
- 26:24else other than work for
- 26:26Mayhem in the twenty sixth season.
- 26:31Guillaume Tell says Facundo is too clever.
- 26:35Yeah.
- 26:37I think.
- 26:39It was a fun podcast and he
- 26:41was it was fun to listen to.
- 26:44But as to get concrete details,
- 26:47that was not happening,
- 26:49and he was not going to let
- 26:51it happen yesterday.
- 26:54As hard as Jenny tried,
- 26:56he just was not going to
- 26:58give up any of the details
- 27:01about the sale or what it
- 27:02meant for his future.
- 27:04But I thought that was pretty interesting.
- 27:11And the last thing I'm going
- 27:12to share with you guys is
- 27:14on that same podcast.
- 27:18I watched this last night
- 27:19when I couldn't sleep.
- 27:21Um, this happened and I,
- 27:23and I just want to speak to it briefly,
- 27:26briefly,
- 27:26but I'm going to play this first.
- 27:29What is happening to my guy?
- 27:31This I did really want to ask you.
- 27:32What is happening to my guy, Clydesdale?
- 27:34Who's messing with Clydesdale?
- 27:35Clydesdale should be a protected species.
- 27:38What's going on?
- 27:39What happened?
- 27:39Is that, that's on your Instagram or?
- 27:42Yeah,
- 27:42I put a little bit of that in the
- 27:43recent update or maybe the
- 27:45one before that,
- 27:46just his back and forth with Patrick.
- 27:48Um,
- 27:50And I think it's on his lunch show.
- 27:54They went back and forth on
- 27:56something that Clydesdale had brought up,
- 27:58and Patrick just kind of
- 28:00took it to a whole other level.
- 28:05So what I wanted to say about this is,
- 28:09just so people know,
- 28:11this whole thing with Patrick Clark...
- 28:13is not just a one-time
- 28:14occurrence I have known
- 28:16petra clark since we were
- 28:19both judges I think that
- 28:21was our both our first year
- 28:22judging uh at the regional
- 28:24level we were on the same
- 28:26judging team so I've known
- 28:27him for a long time there
- 28:31has been some aspect of
- 28:33confrontation with him for
- 28:36the past three to four years um
- 28:42And it just came to a head
- 28:43last week where I just,
- 28:44I was done with it.
- 28:46I didn't want it anymore.
- 28:47And I let it be known on this show.
- 28:51I am fine.
- 28:52I am fine.
- 28:54Nothing said has hurt me so
- 28:57deeply that I can't
- 28:58function or anything like that.
- 29:01Not even close to that.
- 29:03It was just a level of
- 29:04growing frustration that
- 29:06hit me that I was just tired of.
- 29:09Every time I said something,
- 29:11I was being corrected or...
- 29:14um challenged on and it just
- 29:16came to a head last week
- 29:18it's been going on in chats
- 29:20and in comment sections and
- 29:23we work together at the
- 29:24morning chalk up and um
- 29:27it's been going on since
- 29:28then we we don't always see
- 29:30eye to eye on things and
- 29:32that is abundantly clear
- 29:34and um and I reacted last
- 29:38week and as I said last week
- 29:41I am no longer going to be
- 29:42baited into the argument.
- 29:43And Jenny goes on to say
- 29:45that she struggled with the same thing.
- 29:47She has been baited into arguments.
- 29:49And then you realize like
- 29:50thirty comments in.
- 29:51Why did I do all this?
- 29:53And so that's all I was
- 29:55saying is I'm to the point where.
- 29:59he knows how to push my buttons.
- 30:02He gets me fired up.
- 30:04I get baited into a
- 30:06confrontation and then we
- 30:08blow up a comment section
- 30:10for an unreasonable amount of time.
- 30:12And I just,
- 30:13it's a waste of my time to do that.
- 30:16And so I'm just not going to do it anymore,
- 30:22but I appreciate that
- 30:23Garrett was concerned for me,
- 30:25but I am fine.
- 30:27I am really, really fine.
- 30:28It's just I was taking a
- 30:30stand that I'm no longer
- 30:32going to be baited into the arguments.
- 30:35After four years of this,
- 30:38I should have gotten over
- 30:39it a long time ago.
- 30:40And that's all.
- 30:43But I appreciate her concern.
- 30:45And I was shocked last night
- 30:48after the Bills game when I
- 30:49put this podcast on to hear my name.
- 30:54But, yeah.
- 30:55But I'm good.
- 30:56I'm good, Garrett.
- 30:57We're good.
- 30:58And you guys keep up the great podcast.
- 31:00You guys are killing it.
- 31:04So, yeah.
- 31:06That's that.
- 31:09But that's a good episode if
- 31:10you guys want to see.
- 31:11The Facundo piece is really interesting.
- 31:13It's really fun.
- 31:18So, yeah.
- 31:23Yes, Barry, that is it.
- 31:25It is rage bait.
- 31:36I was jazzed by the Bills game.
- 31:39I was too.
- 31:39It was pretty amazing.
- 31:42I hate the Baltimore Ravens.
- 31:51Scott always tells it like it is.
- 31:52Being straightforward is a great quality.
- 31:54Well, thank you,
- 31:55but I just like hanging out
- 31:58with you guys and chatting.
- 32:09I watched the In the Box
- 32:10podcast with John Woolley.
- 32:11I love John, but the podcast was horrible.
- 32:13They tried to push him into
- 32:14saying specific things,
- 32:15never watching that again.
- 32:22I know,
- 32:23I understand exactly what you're saying,
- 32:24Plant Powered Fitness.
- 32:27Exactly that is what happened.
- 32:29But I love the fact that
- 32:31John did stand his ground
- 32:33on what he believed was the right,
- 32:35what he felt was the right answer.
- 32:37And I thought he said some
- 32:38things that were very,
- 32:40very pertinent and informative.
- 32:44And I thought he was very
- 32:45succinct and maybe said
- 32:47things better than even I
- 32:48could have said them
- 32:50about what the WFP is and
- 32:52why they are going to
- 32:53struggle to get market share.
- 32:58But I do agree.
- 33:00Every question was a leading
- 33:01question to him,
- 33:03but he did not take the bait.
- 33:05He stuck to his guns and
- 33:07said what he felt was right.
- 33:15Yes, Joseph.
- 33:15Some people are just not
- 33:16worth the stress or effort.
- 33:17That is it completely.
- 33:22I'm just not going to dive
- 33:22into those debates anymore.
- 33:27If people truly want to have
- 33:28a conversation,
- 33:29I can have a grownup
- 33:30conversation and that is fine.
- 33:39But I'm not going to be,
- 33:40I'm not going to be pulled
- 33:41into these inflammatory
- 33:43debates online that get us to nowhere.
- 33:51What happened with Lamar last night?
- 33:54So from what I know is
- 34:01DeAndre Hopkins caught a touchdown pass.
- 34:03Lamar came down to celebrate
- 34:05with him as they were
- 34:07rounding the back of the end zone.
- 34:09A Bills fan came over the
- 34:11edge and shoved Lamar Jackson.
- 34:16Lamar Jackson then
- 34:18retaliated with a shove back.
- 34:21nothing more than just a
- 34:22shove it wasn't um wasn't
- 34:30um any more than that and I
- 34:34don't think he was in the
- 34:35wrong at all and was just
- 34:37defending himself if
- 34:39anybody was a fault that
- 34:40fan should be uh taken care of so
- 34:56Vicky, I see your question.
- 35:00I have a hard time saying
- 35:01anything bad about Tommy.
- 35:03Tommy has always had my back
- 35:04in every situation.
- 35:06And because of that,
- 35:07I just can't say anything bad about him.
- 35:12And I've said that for years.
- 35:14And I'll continue to say that.
- 35:16He's the one guy that had my
- 35:17back at morning chalk up.
- 35:19and um and because of that
- 35:23I'm never going to be able
- 35:24to dog on him for anything he does so
- 35:37I know that a lot of people
- 35:38has very strong feelings
- 35:39about Sean and Tommy,
- 35:41but Tommy has always had my back.
- 35:43And because of that, I can't,
- 35:46I can't dog on him.
- 35:48He's a good dude.
- 35:49In my opinion.
- 35:52He may not,
- 35:52I may not agree with everything he says,
- 35:55but when push came to shove,
- 35:58he had my back.
- 36:07So wait,
- 36:08fans are passionate about their sport?
- 36:09Sounds familiar.
- 36:11Yeah.
- 36:12Let's hope we don't have
- 36:13riots and people getting
- 36:15physical in the CrossFit space.
- 36:17But maybe that's what it comes down to.
- 36:25The fan actually hit Hopkins first.
- 36:28Yeah,
- 36:28I was working as I had get up on the
- 36:30side.
- 36:31I looked over and I saw the
- 36:32part where Lamar got shoved.
- 36:34So he may have hit Hopkins
- 36:36first because Hopkins was
- 36:38in front of Lamar.
- 36:45And trained all of his talking smack.
- 36:46John George,
- 36:48I guess you got whooped this week.
- 36:52I did too.
- 36:53So don't feel bad.
- 36:58Jose kicked my ass pretty, pretty,
- 37:01pretty bad.
- 37:02Unless DJ Moore goes off for
- 37:04about three touchdowns tonight,
- 37:05I am definitely out of the mix.
- 37:10So guys, all right.
- 37:12That's been this show.
- 37:14We'll be back tomorrow.
- 37:17It's going to be a wild week
- 37:19because I'm heading to
- 37:20Montana this Saturday to see my daughter.
- 37:25So getting ready for all of that.
- 37:29but we'll be here every day this week,
- 37:31just like always.
- 37:32And on Friday,
- 37:32we're actually going to have, um,
- 37:36Jason grub on six time CrossFit games,
- 37:38master's athlete.
- 37:39I'm going to talk to him on
- 37:41Friday a little bit.
- 37:43Um,
- 37:45going to change up the way I
- 37:46do interviewing I don't I
- 37:47don't want to talk about
- 37:48the events so much I just I
- 37:49want to talk about life
- 37:50more than that I want these
- 37:52still to be hangout shows
- 37:54so even if I have a guest
- 37:55on I want it to be more of
- 37:58a hangout show so that is
- 37:59my that's my plan this
- 38:02weekend if uh jason will allow it
- 38:07so with that uh thank you
- 38:10everybody for being in the
- 38:11chat I love each and every
- 38:12one of you and we will see
- 38:14everybody tomorrow on lunch
- 38:16with the clydesdale bye guys
