- 0:00Speaker 1: Anything exciting happened over the weekend. I didn't do anything much,
- 0:03Speaker 1: went out to dinner, went to that new how was that?
- 0:06Speaker 1: I went to that new restaurant that's in the Union
- 0:09Speaker 1: Pacific hotel.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Asher Adams.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Yeah, Asher Adams is the new hotel. The name of
- 0:14Speaker 1: the restaurant is Rouser and it's it's man, it's big.
- 0:19Speaker 1: And I went mainly because I wanted to see what
- 0:21Speaker 1: what the what the whole thing looked like, you know,
- 0:23Speaker 1: what they'd what they had done with the Union Pacific
- 0:27Speaker 1: and how they'd made it an eating place and a uh,
- 0:31Speaker 1: you know, a restaurant and a place to go for drinks.
- 0:34Speaker 1: And it's beautiful and it's and it's huge.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I love that they've took an old building and refurbished
- 0:42Speaker 3: it and made it part of something. I appreciate when
- 0:46Speaker 3: when people invest and do it, because the cheaper thing
- 0:48Speaker 3: would have been to tear it down and build something there.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And it was it's They were fairly busy, but it's
- 0:53Speaker 1: so big it was hard to tell how, you know,
- 0:57Speaker 1: But I mean, it's it's enormous. And they have a
- 1:00Speaker 1: really nice whiskey bar there. And then I didn't go
- 1:05Speaker 1: go to it, but there's a place upstairs you can
- 1:07Speaker 1: go and there's a bar like up and you can.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Look out over the whole a bar with a view, yeah, would.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Look out over the whole hotel kind of lobby and
- 1:17Speaker 1: everything and just but but it's just impeccably done, beautiful place.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I went to, uh Mateo which moved, Jerry, it's not
- 1:27Speaker 3: in that same place over on ninth now it's where
- 1:30Speaker 3: the old Olive Garden.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Used to be, just next door to way. It's over here.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Yeah, because they wanted more more space.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Well, I hope they hired more help.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Did they still sing at your table?
- 1:41Speaker 3: No? So we asked, So we went for it was
- 1:44Speaker 3: daddy Gary's birthday and uh my mom asked like, oh
- 1:49Speaker 3: are you you know, are you singing tonight? And she said, well,
- 1:53Speaker 3: the guy that's that's singing. I thought it was Matteo's dad,
- 1:57Speaker 3: but it's not.
- 1:58Speaker 4: It's just one of the some guy.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Some some guy that works there. And she said, he's
- 2:03Speaker 2: he's not been feeling well, so I hope he's feeling better.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So we didn't get the singing.
- 2:10Speaker 5: But so you didn't think the singing at the table
- 2:12Speaker 5: was annoying, it's it's it's zombieyance. It's well, so you're
- 2:18Speaker 5: right in the middle of a conversation and the guy
- 2:20Speaker 5: comes over and starts, you know, ave Maria or whatever.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I thought it was nice sing the whole time.
- 2:28Speaker 6: They don't know I'm having a very important conversation.
- 2:31Speaker 2: The food there is fantastic.
- 2:33Speaker 4: I was trying to break up with my wife.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Don't break up at a restaurant.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Why would you do that?
- 2:40Speaker 4: Then you I didn't, But what I wasn't.
- 2:44Speaker 3: What point in the meal is if you're gonna if
- 2:48Speaker 3: you're saying, We're going to dinner tonight and I'm gonna
- 2:49Speaker 3: break up with my wife or break up.
- 2:51Speaker 6: With my well just before so you so you get
- 2:54Speaker 6: to dinner, Yeah, get her, get her a few glasses,
- 2:56Speaker 6: a lot, and then that's when you I think, what
- 2:59Speaker 6: you Then she orders dessert, the waiter walks away, and that's.
- 3:01Speaker 3: When you do.
- 3:02Speaker 2: That's when you do.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I think, maybe what the best way to do it
- 3:04Speaker 1: is just say excuse yourself and say I have to
- 3:07Speaker 1: go to the bathroom and then just never come.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Back come back.
- 3:11Speaker 2: You even text and say no, no.
- 3:13Speaker 1: That's it, that's yeah, and you and you stick them
- 3:17Speaker 1: with the bill, you know, and you just you just disappear.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So so I was very social this weekend. So I
- 3:25Speaker 2: did that.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And then my brother in law, Retta, is his birthday
- 3:31Speaker 3: and his wife Amy through him a birthday party.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And I said, well is this you know this isn't
- 3:38Speaker 2: He's forty.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Seven, so it's not like a milestone birthday.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Or maybe it is to him, but through him a
- 3:45Speaker 4: big party.
- 3:46Speaker 3: And the invitation said no gifts. But what I want
- 3:51Speaker 3: is I want you to leave with a new friend.
- 3:54Speaker 3: We're inviting all these people from different you know, you
- 3:58Speaker 3: have different friend groups. You know, these are the this
- 4:00Speaker 3: is my book club and this is my work friend group,
- 4:03Speaker 3: and this is invited them all together and uh, we
- 4:07Speaker 3: want you to leave, which I thought was a nice thing.
- 4:09Speaker 2: We want everyone to make a friend.
- 4:12Speaker 4: So how did I mean, how did that work out?
- 4:14Speaker 2: I mean I met a lot of people, but I.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Did you form lifelong friendships?
- 4:18Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I don't. I don't remember anybody's name. If I saw him,
- 4:25Speaker 3: i'd go, oh, I read his party. But the guy
- 4:30Speaker 3: at Mandate Press that did our our beer label, he
- 4:36Speaker 3: was there. Oh yeah, I'm sorry, I don't remember your name.
- 4:41Speaker 4: I carry a little notebook just for that purpose, Like.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Would you if you had been at that party? Would you?
- 4:46Speaker 4: Probably?
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yeah, And I probably would say I'm going to write
- 4:49Speaker 1: your name. I mean, I do it right then, I'm
- 4:51Speaker 1: going to write your name down because I don't want to.
- 4:52Speaker 2: That's smart because now I feel dumb that I don't
- 4:55Speaker 2: remember anything.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And I had dinner with your golf pro too, oh
- 4:59Speaker 1: with Jeff. Yeah, yeah, it was very nice. He made
- 5:03Speaker 1: he made Korean cheeseburgers. What is a Korean It was
