- 0:57SPEAKER_11: It was a nice day today.
- 1:00SPEAKER_11: Beautiful day.
- 1:01SPEAKER_11: We're recording on a Tuesday.
- 1:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:03SPEAKER_11: Um, which was, and you know, I'm not gonna say it wasn't a nice day, but uh Saturday, my boy got married.
- 1:10SPEAKER_11: That was a nice day.
- 1:11SPEAKER_11: It was a nice day.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: Not weather-wise.
- 1:13SPEAKER_11: No, it was well, I mean, it was.
- 1:15SPEAKER_11: Well, it didn't rain at first.
- 1:17SPEAKER_11: It was so hot.
- 1:18SPEAKER_11: Oh, it was freaking hot, dude.
- 1:20SPEAKER_11: And so, like, just sticky and humid and yeah, it was bad.
- 1:26SPEAKER_11: Um, and I was wearing a suit jacket the whole day.
- 1:29SPEAKER_11: People kept asking me, why how can you wear that?
- 1:32SPEAKER_11: Why are you still wearing that?
- 1:33SPEAKER_11: And I'd keep telling them, if I took this jacket off, it would look like I jumped in a pool.
- 1:37SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:38SPEAKER_11: Because it would be that wet.
- 1:39SPEAKER_11: My shirt underneath was soaking wet.
- 1:41SPEAKER_11: It was pretty wet.
- 1:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:43SPEAKER_11: So I wasn't about to uh I wasn't about to ruin people's appetites with with that.
- 1:48SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:50SPEAKER_11: But congratulations to Jude and Kristen.
- 1:52SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 1:53SPEAKER_11: It was a lovely uh reception.
- 1:55SPEAKER_11: It was a lovely reception.
- 1:56SPEAKER_11: Uh you missed the um drama.
- 2:00SPEAKER_11: I'm not gonna say it was drama.
- 2:02SPEAKER_11: You know, every wedding has something.
- 2:03SPEAKER_11: Well it was it was curious.
- 2:05SPEAKER_11: Uh every wedding has to have something.
- 2:07SPEAKER_11: Why why do you say it was curious?
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: Well, because of course you said the wedding the wedding was at 10.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: And I said, well, okay.
- 2:14SPEAKER_03: I gotta I gotta work.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: So I I can't leave until 11, 15-ish.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: So when I left, I was like, oh, okay, well, everybody will be there, and I can just kind of sneak in and you know.
- 2:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: So I get there.
- 2:28SPEAKER_11: Because the the reception was supposed to be at 1230.
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: Was it uh 1230?
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: 1230.
- 2:32SPEAKER_11: Okay, yeah.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: So I I get there, and there's like four cars in the parking lot.
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: And me.
- 2:40SPEAKER_03: I'm like, this is weird.
- 2:41SPEAKER_03: So I sat there for probably 10 minutes and nobody else came.
- 2:45SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 2:45SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, this is really weird.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: So I can see the tent, the big tent is set up.
- 2:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:51SPEAKER_03: So I figure, well, okay, well, that's must be where it is.
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:54SPEAKER_03: So I walk up there, and there's not a soul anywhere.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: I mean, everything's set up, everything's nice, you know, you know.
- 3:02SPEAKER_11: And it's probably after 12 at this point.
- 3:04SPEAKER_03: I it's gotta be around 12.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because I, you know, it took me half an hour-ish to get up there, and then I sat in the parking lot up.
- 3:11SPEAKER_03: So it's probably it's probably noontime by this time.
- 3:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:14SPEAKER_03: But there's literally nobody there.
- 3:16SPEAKER_03: I'm the only one there.
- 3:17SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 3:17SPEAKER_11: I uh and I finally got your video.
- 3:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: So I just so I look on the little chart there and I see, oh, I'm at table one.
- 3:25SPEAKER_03: So I I go and I sit and I'm looking around.
- 3:30SPEAKER_03: I'm like, boy, this is nice.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: It's a little warm in here.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: This is nice.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: Where is everybody?
- 3:34SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: I I started I started freaking out a little bit.
- 3:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: Because there was literally nobody coming.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: I was like, did I miss something?
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: Is it what's going on?
- 3:44SPEAKER_11: So well, here here's what happened.
- 3:45SPEAKER_11: So the the night before we had our rehearsal, right?
- 3:48SPEAKER_11: In the church.
- 3:49SPEAKER_11: And then we had a rehearsal dinner and everything.
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: Where'd you have the rehearsal dinner?
- 3:52SPEAKER_11: Uh right there in the lodge.
- 3:53SPEAKER_11: Oh, you did, okay.
- 3:54SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 3:54SPEAKER_11: Up at Nordic.
- 3:55SPEAKER_11: So nice.
- 3:56SPEAKER_11: So at at the rehearsal, um, you know, we just we went through the whole thing.
- 4:01SPEAKER_11: We should should have gone through the whole rehearsal twice.
- 4:04SPEAKER_11: Just, you know, because a lot of the people that were in the party were not Catholic, so they did it.
- 4:08SPEAKER_11: It was a Catholic Mass.
- 4:09SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 4:10SPEAKER_11: So they they didn't know what to do.
- 4:12SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 4:12SPEAKER_11: And so the the priest was telling them what to do.
- 4:15SPEAKER_11: And so uh, but we only went through it once.
- 4:17SPEAKER_11: And it would have been nice to go through it again.
- 4:19SPEAKER_11: But we had music and everything, and it was it was all good.
- 4:22SPEAKER_11: So we show up Saturday morning, and everything is ready to go, cameras are ready to go, uh photographers ready to go, um, everybody ready to go.
- 4:34SPEAKER_11: And then about five minutes to ten, uh the priest comes down because he had to he had had had to talk to the organist about something.
- 4:43SPEAKER_11: So he came back down from the choir loft and he looks at me and he's he's like, Where is she?
- 4:50SPEAKER_08: Where is she?
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: So is this the international organist?
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: Just kind of moving your fingers.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: So if I just go up to I any any Catholic father, I just go he'll know what I'm talking about.
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: He'll be like, Why do you need an organist?
- 5:03unknown: Right.
- 5:04SPEAKER_11: Um so there was no we had no music uh for the wedding.
- 5:09SPEAKER_11: So I have this person's uh number, so I I call them, no answer.
- 5:17SPEAKER_11: Called him again, left a voicemail, and so you know, and and my son, who has a tendency to um, you know, when things don't go his way, get a little antsy.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Well, I can I I can it's a big joke.
- 5:37SPEAKER_11: Totally understand.
- 5:38SPEAKER_11: Totally get that.
- 5:39SPEAKER_11: Totally get it.
- 5:40SPEAKER_11: But he handled it very well.
- 5:41SPEAKER_11: Good.
- 5:42SPEAKER_11: I um I went up to him and I gave him like a little bit of advice and was like you know, whether we have music for this or not, it's a wonderful day, and you know, just kind of tried to talk.
- 5:56SPEAKER_11: And eventually we got a hold of this person, and she thought it was at one o'clock.
- 6:03SPEAKER_11: Ah when it was at ten o'clock.
- 6:05SPEAKER_11: Now, in her defense, how many weddings are at ten o'clock in the morning?
- 6:09SPEAKER_11: Not many.
- 6:10SPEAKER_11: Not many, yeah.
- 6:11SPEAKER_11: Um, so she and she lives in Fort Fairfield, so she she had to drive, you know, I mean twenty minutes, fifteen, twenty minutes, whatever, whatever it is to get there.
- 6:21SPEAKER_11: And so we ended up starting and she felt so bad.
- 6:25SPEAKER_03: And well, as long as she didn't show up in like pajama pants or something like that.
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, okay.
- 6:29SPEAKER_11: And she's she was very professional and okay, good.
- 6:32SPEAKER_11: Um except for, you know, getting the times mixed up.
- 6:35SPEAKER_03: But still, that can happen that happens.
- 6:37SPEAKER_11: That can happen to anybody.
- 6:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_11: So we started about a half hour late.
- 6:40SPEAKER_11: So that's why we were not at the reception when we were supposed to be at the reception.
- 6:46SPEAKER_11: But uh everything else went very well.
- 6:48SPEAKER_11: The wedding went very well.
- 6:50SPEAKER_11: Um they are now, I'm a little bit jealous.
- 6:53SPEAKER_11: Oh, they're Iceland, I guess.
- 6:55SPEAKER_11: Well, they they flew to flew to Iceland this morning.
- 6:57SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 6:58SPEAKER_11: They are now in in Italy.
- 7:00SPEAKER_11: Okay, good.
- 7:00SPEAKER_11: They're in Milan for the entire week.
- 7:03SPEAKER_11: So they've got all kinds of plans.
- 7:05SPEAKER_11: They're gonna they're gonna go see uh Venice, they're gonna go see Rome.
- 7:09SPEAKER_11: Um you gotta um so high five the Pope or something, yeah.
- 7:14SPEAKER_11: And and just got before he left uh yesterday morning.
- 7:19SPEAKER_11: Nope, my son.
- 7:20SPEAKER_11: Oh.
- 7:21SPEAKER_11: So um I can probably share this.
- 7:24SPEAKER_11: I think I can share this.
- 7:27SPEAKER_11: Um he because I'm not gonna go into too much detail, but he for over the summer he was interning at um Jackson Labs.
- 7:36SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 7:36SPEAKER_11: Down at Bar Harbor in their legal department.
- 7:39SPEAKER_11: And it was a pain to internship, they took care of him.
- 7:41SPEAKER_11: And good, good.
- 7:42SPEAKER_11: He starts school um in a few weeks.
- 7:46SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 7:46SPEAKER_11: And back he's in still in law school.
- 7:48SPEAKER_11: I think he's got a year or two left.
- 7:51SPEAKER_11: Um, or maybe it's just a year.
- 7:52SPEAKER_11: I don't remember.
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: Well, it's hard telling it to him because he's so freaking smart.
- 7:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and he can't do it.
- 7:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, this is gonna take eight years, I'll do it in two Right.
- 8:01SPEAKER_03: No problem.
- 8:02SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 8:02SPEAKER_11: No problem, Bob.
- 8:03SPEAKER_11: So uh what he had to do, so he drove back uh let's see Monday.
- 8:13SPEAKER_11: No, Sunday night.
- 8:14SPEAKER_11: Because he had to he had to turn in his keys to his house that he was staying at on Monday morning.
- 8:21SPEAKER_11: So here's their here was their plan yesterday.
- 8:23SPEAKER_11: They they drove from Bar Harbor to um or he drove from Bar Harbor to New Hampshire, where his wife is now, or was now, and and they were gonna take a bus to Boston to get on a plane to go to Iceland and then Italy.
- 8:41SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 8:42SPEAKER_11: So he had to turn in his keys to his house in Bar Harbor, had to go on a job interview, and then back to New Hampshire.
- 8:51SPEAKER_11: So this job interview uh was for a law firm and it's for the next summer's internship.
- 8:57SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 8:58SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 8:59SPEAKER_11: And what they say is if you uh usually your second internship is a is where you'll end up.
- 9:09SPEAKER_11: You know, they'll end up hiring you.
- 9:11SPEAKER_11: Sure.
- 9:12SPEAKER_11: And uh so he was excited about this one because it was a big firm.
- 9:17SPEAKER_11: Is it downstate?
- 9:17SPEAKER_11: It's it's downstate.
- 9:18SPEAKER_11: They have they have several offices in Portland, Bangor and it's not that Joe Bornstein call, is it?
- 9:23SPEAKER_11: It's not Joe Bornstein.
- 9:24SPEAKER_11: I don't want to see June become one of those guys.
- 9:26SPEAKER_11: No, it's it's not Joe Bornstein.
- 9:28SPEAKER_11: Um and so he lands in Italy.
- 9:32SPEAKER_11: He he said the interview went very well.
- 9:34SPEAKER_11: Okay, good.
- 9:35SPEAKER_11: He lands in Italy, and he said, We landed.
- 9:38SPEAKER_11: And um he says, uh, oh, and I just got a job offer.
- 9:43SPEAKER_11: Wow.
- 9:44SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 9:45SPEAKER_11: He said, he said the email said something like, I know you're on your honeymoon, but hopefully you'll accept this, this, you know, you'll accept.
- 9:53SPEAKER_11: And uh I just told him, I said, dude, you're living your best life.
- 9:58SPEAKER_11: He really is, you know, enjoy your honeymoon and you know, just just live it up, have a good time.
- 10:04SPEAKER_11: You go back to law school and then you'll have a job lined up next summer.
- 10:07SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you know.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: That's that's a lot of pressure on you.
- 10:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: It is.
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: Well, good for him.
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's good.
- 10:12SPEAKER_11: So everything's going his way in here.
- 10:14SPEAKER_11: Everything's going his way.
- 10:15SPEAKER_11: Knock on for Micah or whatever this is.
- 10:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 10:18SPEAKER_11: Um, so it's and you know, his uh his wife, we are we are absolutely head over heels for his wife.
- 10:24SPEAKER_11: Oh, she she she's awesome.
- 10:26SPEAKER_11: She's so sweetie.
- 10:27SPEAKER_11: And she's so funny.
- 10:28SPEAKER_11: She is hilarious.
- 10:29SPEAKER_11: So funny.
- 10:31SPEAKER_11: Anyway.
- 10:32SPEAKER_11: Um so that that was my weekend.
- 10:34SPEAKER_11: We and we barely recovered on Sunday.
- 10:36SPEAKER_11: We cleaned everything up on Sunday and and um you know took took home because you know these kids, their their wedding was just really uh out of the ordinary.
- 10:49SPEAKER_11: Oh, it's totally totally out of the ordinary.
- 10:52SPEAKER_11: Ten o'clock in the morning was the wedding.
- 10:53SPEAKER_11: Yeah, the reception was over at four.
- 10:55unknown: Yeah.
- 10:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, they killed it at four.
- 10:57SPEAKER_11: It was just done.
- 10:58SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 10:58SPEAKER_11: They had an after party for the you know, the the special friends and stuff.
- 11:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 11:02SPEAKER_11: Um, but they served pizza.
- 11:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was the that was uh that was the reception food.
- 11:08SPEAKER_03: They're like, there's pizza up in the lodge.
- 11:09SPEAKER_03: I'm like, Yeah.
- 11:10SPEAKER_11: Are we having a sleepover?
- 11:12SPEAKER_11: 70 of them.
- 11:12SPEAKER_11: Seventy pizzas.
- 11:14SPEAKER_11: 70 pizzas.
- 11:15SPEAKER_11: And guess who has had pizza for the last three days?
- 11:18SPEAKER_11: Uh that would be you.
- 11:19SPEAKER_11: Yes, my whole family.
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: Because your frig if if I opened your fridge right now, it'll be just full of pizza.
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: I think it's all gone.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: Oh, wow, holy crap.
- 11:25SPEAKER_11: We only took we only took a few.
- 11:27SPEAKER_11: Okay, I was gonna say you know, but but uh we had there were so many pizzas left, so everybody took pizzas home.
- 11:32SPEAKER_11: We took two cakes home.
- 11:34SPEAKER_11: Right, because they had not everybody ate cake.
- 11:38SPEAKER_11: So we've been just kind of living high on the hog here for the past couple days.
- 11:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah, pizza and cake, not gonna go wrong.
- 11:43SPEAKER_11: And brisket.
- 11:45SPEAKER_11: We uh for the rehearsal dinner was catered by Ferris.
- 11:48SPEAKER_11: Oh, so we had brisket and and uh turkey and uh potato salad.
- 11:53SPEAKER_11: So we had all this in our fridge.
- 11:55SPEAKER_11: So you basically don't have to buy food for the next two weeks.
- 11:57SPEAKER_11: Well, I think we just finished up the brisket tonight, actually.
- 11:59SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 12:00SPEAKER_11: So fair enough.
- 12:01SPEAKER_11: But it was good.
- 12:02SPEAKER_11: It's you know, and and I'm very jealous that he's in Italy right now.
- 12:06SPEAKER_11: I'm hoping to take my wife there one day because that's one of her you know dream dream destinations.
- 12:11SPEAKER_11: It's mute.
- 12:12SPEAKER_11: It'll have to knock me out for the entire trip, but yeah, because I don't like to fly.
- 12:16SPEAKER_11: Well, flying sucks, but you know, and flying over the ocean was is just not my idea of a good time.
- 12:21SPEAKER_11: Dude, I used to fly over the Pacific all the time.
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: You get used to it.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we're just like, well, yeah, I can swim.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: No problem.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: And my my seat cushion's a flotation device.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: I'm okay.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: I'm okay.
- 12:33SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: I do remember one uh speaking of flying over the ocean, I remember one time I was flying, I was flying home, and uh I used to catch like midnight flights because they were cheaper.
- 12:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:45SPEAKER_03: And uh I remember flying over the Pacific and uh it was a full moon, and I remember looking out the window and the full moon just shining on the ocean.
- 12:54SPEAKER_03: It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: It was gorgeous.
- 12:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: I was just loved it.
- 12:59SPEAKER_03: Just loved it.
- 13:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I think I, you know, if you could get me on the first flight uh over the ocean and I can stay awake for it, I might get used to it, but it's getting me on that flight.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: Oh that's a that's the whole thing.
- 13:13SPEAKER_11: That's the whole thing.
- 13:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I hear you.
- 13:14SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: Um so back to And I got to meet your boys' girlfriends.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: That was nice.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 13:20SPEAKER_11: They're very sweet.
- 13:21SPEAKER_11: Yes, they are.
- 13:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 13:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah, Hannah's hilarious.
- 13:23SPEAKER_11: Hannah is hilarious.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: When they were sitting at that DJ table, she had the fan sitting at her lap.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: I was just like, this kid is hilarious.
- 13:30SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I think uh I I wish I had my wife's phone because she took a slow motion video of her doing that and just kind of moved.
- 13:37SPEAKER_11: Well, she was doing the whole like hair flip model thing, and I was like, oh my freaking word, and it's funny.
- 13:42SPEAKER_11: No, and Finn is just there eating it up.
- 13:44SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: That was just no but they're they're sweet girls.
- 13:47SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 13:47SPEAKER_11: Both of them, yep.
- 13:48SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 13:49SPEAKER_11: Um, so so that was my weekend.
- 13:51SPEAKER_11: And what did you do over the weekend?
- 13:54SPEAKER_11: I know you went to the reception.
- 13:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that was it.
- 13:56SPEAKER_11: That was it.
- 13:57SPEAKER_11: That was my weekend.
- 13:58SPEAKER_11: That was the highlight.
- 13:59SPEAKER_11: That was the highlight.
- 14:00SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 14:00SPEAKER_11: That was the highlight of my weekend too.
- 14:01SPEAKER_11: So there you go.
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: It was it was a good thing.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: It was a good thing.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: But uh I spent a lot of time uh because you know I I have this theory that everybody secretly hates me and nobody wants to want to talk to me.
- 14:12SPEAKER_03: So I spent a lot of time doom scrolling on Facebook or Instagram.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: What is Doom scrolling?
- 14:18SPEAKER_03: Just scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: And uh two things came up this weekend.
- 14:23SPEAKER_03: Number one, what's going on with Corey Feldman?
- 14:26SPEAKER_03: Why did I keep seeing Corey Feldman performing?
- 14:29SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: It was weird.
- 14:32SPEAKER_11: Corey Feldman performing is weird.
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: Well, it is, because he the boy can't I I love Corey Feldman.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: I mean Goonies.
- 14:38SPEAKER_03: I'm with you.
- 14:38SPEAKER_03: Stand by me, Lost Boys, awesome.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: He can't sing.
- 14:42SPEAKER_03: He can't sing, he thinks he can.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: He thinks he can, yes.
- 14:45SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: But there was a video of him like performing.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: He's got a band and there was a crowd.
- 14:50SPEAKER_03: Why does your mic keep cutting out?
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: Uh I was curious about that myself.
- 14:54SPEAKER_03: I don't know how it's going to sound on that, but anyway.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:57SPEAKER_11: Anyway.
- 14:58SPEAKER_03: But uh, yeah.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: I kept seeing these clips of him like performing.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: He was like in wearing a uh in one he was wearing like a suit that was made of like mirrors or something.
- 15:08SPEAKER_03: That's what it looked like.
- 15:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: And he's singing and he's dancing.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: But he's dancing like exactly like Michael Jackson, which makes sense because he spent a lot of time with Michael in the 80s.
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: And uh I'm with he's actually a pretty good dancer.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: I'll give him that.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 15:22SPEAKER_03: But the boy can't sing to save his life.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 15:25SPEAKER_03: And then I see clips of him playing a guitar solo, and is the absolute worst thing I've ever heard.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, he's not actually playing, he's just he's just like and he's not he's not playing any notes.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: It doesn't go to the song.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: And like you can see like his bass player in the or oh no, it's a saxophone player.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: I don't know why he's got a saxophone player.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: His saxophone player in the back is like sitting there, like, just nodding.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 15:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's just like me.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: And then his bass player gets up behind him, he's like, you know, gesturing like you gotta wonder if it's on purpose.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Why it almost seems like I'm sure he's paying them.
- 16:02SPEAKER_11: So what I mean is what I mean uh is is he is he playing the part of a washed-up actor who thinks he's God's gift to music.
- 16:13SPEAKER_03: I have no idea, but it's just bizarre.
- 16:15SPEAKER_11: It is bizarre.
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: And he But we're talking about it, you know.
- 16:18SPEAKER_03: But it was just so weird because he got done to the solo and he's like dang he had a button on the guitar, it was weird, it was like dunk, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: It was like a it was like an off on off on off switch.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: It was the most weird thing.
- 16:32SPEAKER_03: And I was like, and then everybody's like, Ha! And he's like, look everyone's.
- 16:36SPEAKER_03: I'm like, what Yeah.
- 16:39SPEAKER_11: I don't get it, man.
- 16:40SPEAKER_11: You know, all those childhood was messed up by the very big thing.
- 16:46SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, you know, his c his co-stars had to go through, and it uh wasn't wasn't a fun time.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: No.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: I'm sure this is just an outlet for you know, whatever.
- 16:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:56SPEAKER_03: But man, don't put it on yeah.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: Why did why did I have to keep seeing clips of it?
- 17:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, I couldn't get away from it.
- 17:03SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: It was like I think I think it was, you know, one of those, you know, sneaky Facebook things where if you look at something, yeah, it just keeps popping up algorithm.
- 17:13SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_11: Yeah, the algorithm.
- 17:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:15SPEAKER_11: So I think I just brought it on myself after that.
- 17:17SPEAKER_11: For sure.
- 17:17SPEAKER_11: For sure.
- 17:18SPEAKER_11: What uh so that was one thing you said.
- 17:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then I and then uh of course that whole uh the other clip I kept saying was uh from the new Deadpool Wolverine movie.
- 17:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: The opening credits where Deadpool is dancing to InSync's Bye bye bye.
- 17:32SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I haven't seen that one.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: It's freaking hilarious.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: It's it's so good.
- 17:35SPEAKER_03: Have you seen the movie yet?
- 17:35SPEAKER_03: I haven't seen the movie yet, but I never go.
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: Um but uh yeah, I was so that that took me down this rabbit hole.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: I was like So I took InSync and I took Backstreet Boys and I was like comparing.
- 17:54SPEAKER_11: Wait, wait, wait, before you go on, every time I hear Backstreet Boys, I think of Colin Mockery.
- 17:58SPEAKER_11: Backstreet Boys?
- 17:59SPEAKER_11: Backstreet Boys Do you know what I'm talking about?
- 18:02SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 18:03SPEAKER_11: Anyway, keep going.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: So I was like, I was like, which was better?
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Who is better?
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: In sync or backstreet boys?
- 18:10SPEAKER_03: So I took two of the two of my favorite songs from InSync, which was Bye Bye Bye and Pop.
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: And then I took two songs from Backstreet Boys.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: I took uh Everybody's Back.
- 18:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:26SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: And then uh I won it that way.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 18:29SPEAKER_03: So I took those two and I compared them.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: And I was and I watched the videos.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: And I was like, you know what?
- 18:38SPEAKER_03: I think Backstreet had better songs, but in sync were better dancers.
- 18:44SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, that's true.
- 18:45SPEAKER_03: Because Backstreet Boys didn't really have any dancing.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: They just they just kind of milled around like, you know, hey, we're we're singing, uh, we we we we just wandered into this place, we all decided to start singing, because that's what it looked like.
- 18:57SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 18:58SPEAKER_03: That's what most of their videos look like.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: They just they just wandered into a building and just started singing.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: Whereas InSync has like, you know, choreographed, you know, like the dance moves, and I was like, well, you know.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: I was like, wow, this is you know, I I spent way too much time on this.
- 19:13SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 19:13SPEAKER_03: Because, you know, you know, a 52-year-old man watching InSync and Backstreet Boy videos.
- 19:19SPEAKER_11: I'm just curious because I know you had uh you said you you were comparing the songs.
- 19:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:26SPEAKER_11: Uh what was the other one?
- 19:27SPEAKER_11: Oh, Pop.
- 19:28SPEAKER_11: Pop.
- 19:28SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:29SPEAKER_11: Pop by InSync.
- 19:32SPEAKER_07: Because at least two of those.
- 19:42SPEAKER_11: Uh I Want It That Way and Bye Bye Bye.
- 19:46SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 19:46SPEAKER_11: Were written by Andres Carlson.
- 19:48SPEAKER_11: Ah, okay.
- 19:49SPEAKER_11: So the same guy wrote.
- 19:50SPEAKER_11: Okay, yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_11: So same guy with a couple other people.
- 19:52SPEAKER_11: Sure.
- 19:53SPEAKER_11: Um the other two were not.
- 19:54SPEAKER_11: But I just was seeing if there was a thread that connected them.
- 19:57SPEAKER_11: Because I know I know that all those um um what do I want to say?
- 20:04SPEAKER_11: Um boy bands, you know, all those boy bands.
- 20:07SPEAKER_11: There was Max Martin and Andreas Carlson and somebody else that wrote most of that stuff.
- 20:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, sure.
- 20:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:15SPEAKER_11: And you know, Max Martin was responsible for It's My Life by Bon Jovi.
- 20:20SPEAKER_11: Uh that explains all that.
- 20:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it does.
- 20:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 20:23SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 20:24SPEAKER_11: It almost sounds like uh everybody by the Backstreet Boys, doesn't it?
- 20:28SPEAKER_10: A little bit.
- 20:32SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 20:32SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 20:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 20:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 20:33SPEAKER_11: It's the same kind of structure.
- 20:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:36SPEAKER_11: Uh yeah.
- 20:38SPEAKER_11: You spent a lot of time with InSync and Backstreet Boys.
- 20:40SPEAKER_11: I did.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: It was it was disturbing, but uh pleasant at the same time.
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: I actually enjoyed it.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: Hey, you know what?
- 20:46SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't I don't you know, of course, back then, you know, you're like ah, Backstreet Boys.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: It's like that's stupid.
- 20:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:51SPEAKER_03: Now it's like eh, they're pretty good.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: The songs are good.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: The songs are good.
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's good.
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, you know, yeah, it's it's ear canning, man.
- 20:58SPEAKER_11: It is ear cany.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: And then you throw the OGs in there, New Kids on the Block.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: And then you're like, wow.
- 21:04SPEAKER_03: Do you remember they they put out an album?
- 21:07SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, New New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys combined.
- 21:10SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 21:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 21:11SPEAKER_11: But what was the album called?
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: I make fun of the album.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: N K O T B S B.
- 21:16SPEAKER_03: That was the name of the album.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: Uh it was just it was just J basically the greatest hits.
- 21:21SPEAKER_11: They just alternated, then they made some songs to play at the end.
- 21:24SPEAKER_11: But I made fun of the name of the album, and I can't remember why.
- 21:27SPEAKER_11: NK New Kids on the Oh, that's what no NK O T B S B.
- 21:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 21:34SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 21:34SPEAKER_11: New Kids on the Backstreet Boys.
- 21:35SPEAKER_11: That's why I made fun of it.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's yeah, that makes sense.
- 21:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's unfortunate.
- 21:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: But but I was just like, you know, uh I really don't know any of these guys.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, I mean everybody knows Timberlake.
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: And then you got the the other guy.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: Lance Bass.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Lance Bass, and then uh Joey Fatone.
- 21:55SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 21:55SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 21:56SPEAKER_03: And Chris Kirkpatrick.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: See, I know them.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: How do you know of this?
- 21:59SPEAKER_11: I was amazed.
- 22:00SPEAKER_11: Radio.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's right.
- 22:01SPEAKER_11: So so that's in sync.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: That's in sync.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: And then on the backstreet boys, you got Aaron Carter's brother, or Aaron Carter himself.
- 22:07SPEAKER_11: Nick Nick Carter.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then you got Chin Strap Beard Guy.
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: Uh I don't remember his name, but I think you got uh goatee guy that looks like the dad.
- 22:17SPEAKER_11: Um yep.
- 22:18SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and then uh there's a guy named Howie.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there's a and then there was another uh was that Howie Howie the other like Howie was the um Latino one.
- 22:29SPEAKER_11: Oh, is that Howie?
- 22:31SPEAKER_03: There was another kid there that was kind of like an Aaron Carter, but Yes.
- 22:36SPEAKER_11: I do the he he sang lead on a lot of them.
- 22:39SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 22:39SPEAKER_11: Um I can't remember his name though.
- 22:41SPEAKER_11: Oh, Brian something.
- 22:42SPEAKER_03: Brian, Brian something?
- 22:43SPEAKER_11: Okay, so yeah.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: And of course you got new kids on the block, you know, you got uh Mark's brother.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, um Don Walbert.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: Donnie and then the the little kid Joey.
- 22:53SPEAKER_03: Joey, uh hold on, Joey, Juicy Jones, and then um that guy, yeah, and then the other guy.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: The other guy.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: I don't remember the other guy and the other guy.
- 23:07SPEAKER_10: So you know they just all blend in together after a while.
- 23:10SPEAKER_10: I'm pretty impressed that I remembered some of their names.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was all I of course my sister was really in actual or uh new kids in a block.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: So I was very well versed in their music and who they were.
- 23:23SPEAKER_11: And you know, I'm not gonna lie, when they came out, um it was a fad, obviously, right?
- 23:29SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 23:29SPEAKER_11: But uh what was that song they came the first song they came out with?
- 23:33SPEAKER_11: Um Um Hang Into Hang Into I liked it.
- 23:40SPEAKER_11: I thought it was kind of cool.
- 23:41SPEAKER_11: We're rough.
- 23:43SPEAKER_11: Except for that part.
- 23:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: Like you're you're not rough.
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: You're you're you're you're punk kids.
- 23:48SPEAKER_03: But it was there was some guitar in it, right?
- 23:49SPEAKER_03: There was a guitar in it.
- 23:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there was there was there were some rock you know elements to the song.
- 23:53SPEAKER_03: You know, it was pretty good.
- 23:54SPEAKER_03: Then they had that please don't go kill Well my my favorite was always the oh oh oh the right stuff.
- 24:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, I like that one too.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: So that was a good one.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: I can't believe we're talking about the new kids.
- 24:10SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, like I said, I have no life, and so I had to do I had to fill it with uh boy bands.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: That's okay.
- 24:16SPEAKER_03: We won't hold it against you.
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: But I did uh in my research, remember that band we talked about a while ago, Backwards?
- 24:24SPEAKER_03: They're kind of like uh um We talked about a band called Backwards?
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, back yeah.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: Um they're a how did I put it?
- 24:35SPEAKER_03: It's like if um uh uh Lincoln Park watched Fox News.
- 24:43SPEAKER_03: You don't remember the they're very libertarian and very Oh, oh, oh yes, now I do.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:49SPEAKER_03: They they they actually covered Bye Bye Bye.
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, did they?
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: And it's actually really, really good.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: Can I play it?
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'm gonna find it.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's it's really good.
- 24:57SPEAKER_11: Um I I do remember what you're talking about now, the band that you're talking about.
- 25:02SPEAKER_11: Um is that I I guess I didn't remember that was the name of the band.
- 25:05SPEAKER_11: Backwards.
- 25:05SPEAKER_03: Backwards, yeah.
- 25:06SPEAKER_03: Backwards with a Z at the end instead of an S.
- 25:09SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, then the other one, the other meme that's going around the the shooter from Turkey.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:17SPEAKER_03: John wicked it and just bam.
- 25:19SPEAKER_03: That was amazing.
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: That was amazing.
- 25:22SPEAKER_11: Uh let's see.
- 25:24SPEAKER_11: Oh, it's right up top there.
- 25:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I know.
- 25:26SPEAKER_11: I was just seeing if there was a different one, but let's go with this.
- 25:30SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's the one.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Saving on your education.
- 25:32SPEAKER_03: No.
- 25:32SPEAKER_03: I don't want to save on my education.
- 25:34SPEAKER_03: I already paid for it.
- 25:36SPEAKER_03: Best scholarship.
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: I forgot to hit skip.
- 25:38SPEAKER_03: You gotta hit the skip on the ah, there it is.
- 25:41SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 25:47SPEAKER_05: Hey.
- 27:00SPEAKER_03: It's really good.
- 27:01SPEAKER_11: I do.
- 27:01SPEAKER_11: I like it better than instincts.
- 27:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 27:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 27:04SPEAKER_11: Of course.
- 27:04SPEAKER_03: And of course, because it's them.
- 27:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:07SPEAKER_03: At the end, he does a little thing where he laughs, the music fades out, and he laughs, and he goes, Tax changes theft.
- 27:21SPEAKER_11: I gotta hear it now.
- 27:23SPEAKER_11: Whoops.
- 27:51SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's cool.
- 27:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I didn't hear Justin doing that on the original, so yeah.
- 27:55SPEAKER_03: No, that's cool.
- 27:56SPEAKER_11: That's cool.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: Backwards is the name of the band.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: That's cool.
- 27:58SPEAKER_03: I I th I'm thinking Skinny Elvis could do that.
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 28:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 28:01SPEAKER_03: Heck yeah.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: So I think that's uh, we should put that on the list.
- 28:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 28:05SPEAKER_11: Speaking of that, I'm a little nervous about that gig.
- 28:07SPEAKER_11: I don't know why.
- 28:08SPEAKER_11: Most because we've never actually had a gig.
- 28:11SPEAKER_11: Well, no, we've had we've played before, but I'm not nervous about us playing.
- 28:14SPEAKER_11: I'm just nervous about how we're gonna go over it.
- 28:16SPEAKER_11: Not that I care.
- 28:16SPEAKER_11: Well, it doesn't matter.
- 28:17SPEAKER_11: I mean, maybe I do care.
- 28:19SPEAKER_03: Maybe maybe that's it, but you know, it's just gonna be like, well, I think a lot of people are gonna be like, oh, it's the Star City Syndicate.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: We're gonna be like, nope.
- 28:26SPEAKER_03: No.
- 28:27SPEAKER_03: Nope, it's not.
- 28:28SPEAKER_03: We're gonna be the exact opposite of the Star City Syndicate.
- 28:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 28:31SPEAKER_11: So um so Friday morning, um, my daughter had a uh swimming lesson.
- 28:36SPEAKER_11: I think I told you this, I'm not sure.
- 28:38SPEAKER_11: She had a swimming lesson, and uh um one of my our friends was was there and sh and uh another little girl came up and we're we're talking, and uh uh my friend goes, uh so are you playing anywhere uh this weekend?
- 28:52SPEAKER_11: Or you know, is the syndicate playing?
- 28:54SPEAKER_11: And the little girl goes, Are you in the Star City Syndicate?
- 28:58SPEAKER_11: I said, Yes, I am.
- 28:59SPEAKER_03: She's like, My mom loves you guys.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 29:07SPEAKER_03: We are the favorite band of the soccer mom.
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: Thank you so much.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: Thank you very much.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: Plug and rounch, plug and rounch.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: Give me a peanut butter nun or sandwich.
- 29:14SPEAKER_11: So yeah.
- 29:15SPEAKER_11: Um uh so back to we were we weren't talking about rock and roll, but we should we should because um Aerosmith gave up.
- 29:23SPEAKER_11: Yeah, they packed it in.
- 29:24SPEAKER_11: They packed it in, packed it up, packed it in.
- 29:26SPEAKER_03: Packed it in and let them not begin.
- 29:28SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 29:28SPEAKER_11: So um they were waiting for a long time for Steven Tyler to okay.
- 29:33SPEAKER_11: I know Steven was in rehab, but he had gone out of rehab, but apparently he had heard his voice.
- 29:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, throat surgery of some sort of like vocal cords or something.
- 29:41SPEAKER_11: And you know, i is uh really having a hard time coming back from it.
- 29:46SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 29:46SPEAKER_11: So they they canceled the residency, canceled their fight farewell tour.
- 29:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 29:51SPEAKER_11: Um so um I think that's the way to do it.
- 29:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah, just go out on top.
- 29:57SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, I mean it and why uh you know, why why make people think less of you by going out while you're sounding like crap?
- 30:06SPEAKER_11: You are one of, if not the greatest American rock and roll bands.
- 30:11SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 30:12SPEAKER_11: Um why not why not go out on top, like you said.
- 30:15SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 30:16SPEAKER_11: You know, there's nothing there's nothing wrong with that.
- 30:18SPEAKER_11: You you you don't hang your head.
- 30:20SPEAKER_11: I mean, uh you were rock and roll royalty.
- 30:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, absolutely.
- 30:23SPEAKER_11: Um you made a huge impact.
- 30:25SPEAKER_11: I mean, all the bands that are out there today were influenced by you.
- 30:28SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 30:28SPEAKER_03: You know, some way in some trait shape or something.
- 30:30SPEAKER_11: In some way, shape, or form, yeah.
- 30:32SPEAKER_11: So I I I I think it's a great idea.
- 30:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah that they why not, man.
- 30:37SPEAKER_11: I mean, it's too bad, obviously.
- 30:38SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, it does kind of suck, but um, but I think it's the right decision.
- 30:42SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: Um, by the way, I gotta say hi to video dog.
- 30:48SPEAKER_03: Hey, video dog, you suck.
- 30:52SPEAKER_03: That's good.
- 30:53SPEAKER_11: Um I got some new music to share.
- 30:57SPEAKER_11: Um Did you know that Kiss recorded a song called Rock and Roll Hell?
- 31:04SPEAKER_11: Have you ever heard that song?
- 31:05SPEAKER_11: I don't believe I have.
- 31:06SPEAKER_11: I'm a Kiss fan, but I'm not a huge KISS fan.
- 31:08SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 31:08SPEAKER_11: Uh so I've never heard the song Rock and Roll Hell by KISS.
- 31:11SPEAKER_11: But Brian Adams recorded his version because he wrote it.
- 31:14SPEAKER_11: Oh, he did, right?
- 31:15SPEAKER_11: He wrote it.
- 31:15SPEAKER_03: Okay, interesting.
- 31:16SPEAKER_11: And he recorded his version and released it.
- 31:21SPEAKER_11: And I'm a big Brian Adams fan.
- 31:23SPEAKER_11: At least from like 82 to 89.
- 31:30SPEAKER_11: Um, or maybe maybe even in the early 90s.
- 31:35SPEAKER_11: A lot of the stuff he put out after that was okay.
- 31:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 31:38SPEAKER_11: It was just okay.
- 31:39SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 31:39SPEAKER_11: Which happens with everybody, right?
- 31:41SPEAKER_11: You know, you go through your phase.
- 31:43SPEAKER_11: I don't like this song.
- 31:44SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 31:46SPEAKER_11: Like the Kiss version or the Brian Adams version?
- 31:48SPEAKER_11: I don't like the song.
- 31:49SPEAKER_11: Or either version.
- 31:50SPEAKER_11: Either version I haven't heard the kiss version, but if the kiss version is anything like the Brian Adams version, it's probably heavier.
- 31:56SPEAKER_08: But 16 years.
- 32:09SPEAKER_08: Just wait for his time to come.
- 32:13SPEAKER_08: Well, is the building on fire?
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: That's too smart.
- 32:20SPEAKER_08: Can't wait to be watching a building.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: Is it a fog machine or what's going on?
- 32:24SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure what's going on.
- 32:25SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 32:28SPEAKER_08: Gonna step over.
- 32:33SPEAKER_08: And it's good.
- 32:51SPEAKER_08: How long to stay?
- 33:00SPEAKER_03: It's almost like something from the 70s.
- 33:02SPEAKER_03: Well, it sounds like Foreigner, like uh this time the uh what's that song?
- 33:09SPEAKER_10: You're not thinking Dukebox Hero, aren't you?
- 33:11SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 33:11SPEAKER_10: Are you?
- 33:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it actually it kind of reminds me of that.
- 33:14SPEAKER_10: I don't know why.
- 33:15SPEAKER_10: Well, I the instrumentation probably.
- 33:18SPEAKER_10: I can hear that a little bit.
- 33:19SPEAKER_10: Like the structure of the song, you know.
- 33:36SPEAKER_10: But is it fulfilling to you?
- 33:39SPEAKER_10: Is it fulfilling?
- 33:40SPEAKER_10: Like, like, is it is it doing anything for me?
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:43SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, I I don't care about the it's very boring actually.
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: It is quite boring.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: It's just it's the same thing over and over again.
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: There's there doesn't seem to be like any like exciting chord changes or anything, you know, just Keith Scott on guitar.
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: I mean, the the drummers doing some fills that are are not registering from the video to the actual song.
- 34:13SPEAKER_03: So I'm a little confused by that.
- 34:14SPEAKER_10: And look at what they're wearing.
- 34:15SPEAKER_10: I it looks like they're going for a clash.
- 34:18SPEAKER_10: Well the clash.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: Either that or they're trying well, obviously they're trying to rip off the Beatles by playing on a rooftop, number one.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: But yeah, it looks like you know, the Ramones.
- 34:30SPEAKER_10: You know, all leather jackets and blah blah blah.
- 34:34SPEAKER_10: That's why I said it looks like something from the 70s.
- 34:36SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: Is Brian Orange playing bass?
- 34:44SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, he and he's done that for a long time, actually.
- 34:47SPEAKER_11: They go out as a trio when they play in concert, just the three of them.
- 34:54SPEAKER_11: Yeah, so it's um a little on the Well, I'm I'm just used to him playing guitar, so I don't know.
- 34:59SPEAKER_03: I'm a little thrown off by the bass thing.
- 35:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's done that for a little while now.
- 35:03SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 35:04SPEAKER_11: Um I want to share another new song with you.
- 35:06SPEAKER_11: I have not heard this.
- 35:07SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 35:08SPEAKER_11: Um, you know, I'm not sure what to think.
- 35:12SPEAKER_11: Um it's it's called Who Shot Trump?
- 35:16SPEAKER_11: And it's uh the Motor City Mad Men and his son, Rocco.
- 35:20SPEAKER_11: So I'm just I'm really curious.
- 35:22SPEAKER_11: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 35:23SPEAKER_11: Ted named his son Rocco.
- 35:24SPEAKER_11: He named his son Rocco.
- 35:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 35:26SPEAKER_11: Did he not like his son?
- 35:28SPEAKER_11: Rocco Moon.
- 35:29SPEAKER_11: What?
- 35:30SPEAKER_11: Hold on a second.
- 35:31SPEAKER_11: Uh Who Shot Trump's song featuring his son Rocco on vocals?
- 35:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 35:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 35:36SPEAKER_11: So I'm really just I'm just intrigued as to what it sounds like, what the lyrics are.
- 35:43SPEAKER_11: Um if you think that Brian Adams song was not good, I'm curious as to how good this is gonna be.
- 35:51SPEAKER_11: So let's see.
- 35:55SPEAKER_06: Can you get this name louder?
- 35:58SPEAKER_03: Well, that's a typical type thing.
- 36:00SPEAKER_03: Okay, not what I was expecting.
- 36:07SPEAKER_06: If you uh one up here and see something that's uh take a look like audio from the actual sound prevention.
- 36:31SPEAKER_10: Okay, I didn't realize there were squares, I apologize for that one.
- 36:43SPEAKER_11: Okay, so this is capitalizing, is what this is.
- 36:46SPEAKER_11: This is really dumb.
- 36:47SPEAKER_11: This is really dumb.
- 36:57SPEAKER_04: This man right here, clearly touched by the hand of God.
- 37:02SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 37:17SPEAKER_11: Okay, I'm I'm I'm gonna turn it off.
- 37:19SPEAKER_11: Okay, because it's really bad.
- 37:22SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna go that was way better.
- 37:24SPEAKER_11: In a heartbeat.
- 37:24SPEAKER_11: I wanna say I'm just gonna read about it.
- 37:26SPEAKER_11: Um Rocco, who performs as Rocco Moon, is described as a multimedium uh expressionist singer-songwriter, MC, and producer.
- 37:35SPEAKER_11: What?
- 37:35SPEAKER_11: Uh he has released numerous singles and mixtapes under that name since 2011.
- 37:39SPEAKER_11: Um as the Elder Nugent adds distorted strumming and solos to the song, La Song's Laid Back Hip Hop Groove.
- 37:47SPEAKER_11: Uh Who Shot Trump finds Rocco sharing his memories?
- 37:50SPEAKER_11: Uh it's just really bad.
- 37:52SPEAKER_11: It's just really bad.
- 37:54SPEAKER_11: So Rocco obviously wrote it, and the Nudge is just playing guitar on it.
- 37:58SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 37:59SPEAKER_03: Well, that's uh So it's really a Rocco song.
- 38:01SPEAKER_11: It's really a Rocco song, and it's Nug is on I can't even believe we put it on our podcast.
- 38:06SPEAKER_11: Well, too late now.
- 38:07SPEAKER_11: I can't take it back.
- 38:09SPEAKER_11: Go take it back, she's I would not have uh I would not have imagined.
- 38:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's that's just I mean we all know Ted's Ted's uh politics, but I mean that's just that that's just stupid.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: Really I'm sorry, it's really stupid.
- 38:23SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 38:24SPEAKER_11: Um Alright, one more song to share.
- 38:28SPEAKER_11: And in the write-up for this episode, I say, and Metallica does Neil Diamond.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 38:35SPEAKER_03: Have you heard this?
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: I have not.
- 38:37SPEAKER_03: Is this from the live show?
- 38:39SPEAKER_11: Yes, I have not heard it.
- 38:40SPEAKER_11: Because they were in Gillette over the weekend.
- 38:42SPEAKER_11: I have not heard it either.
- 38:46SPEAKER_11: Don't you love him?
- 38:49SPEAKER_10: And Kurt, we love that man too.
- 38:52SPEAKER_07: Together, we're telling me.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: At this point in the show, Kirk likes that I like to have a jam.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: So this song is really scary, super heavy, and if you start marching, try not to injure yourself, because it is such a scary song, I'm already shaking.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: Anyway, Kirk, you ready to start this thing off?
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: One, two, one, two, three.
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: It was probably a guy that still thinks that Kill Em All was their best album.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 40:00SPEAKER_11: So Well there this is from Gillette.
- 40:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah, okay.
- 40:03SPEAKER_03: So that's well, of course, you know.
- 40:05SPEAKER_10: Yeah, Boston.
- 40:06SPEAKER_10: Boston.
- 40:12SPEAKER_11: Now I remember seeing, I don't remember which song it was, but I remember seeing this little this little segment in the Metallica show where these two do something.
- 40:21SPEAKER_11: And it was awful.
- 40:23SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 40:24SPEAKER_11: I don't remember what it what what song it was, but it was really, really bad.
- 40:27SPEAKER_11: Not that they care.
- 40:28SPEAKER_03: No, I mean they're just having I mean they're Metallica.
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: They're the one of the biggest bands on the entire planet.
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: So, I mean, well, they can do whatever they want.
- 40:37SPEAKER_03: Everybody singing along, huh?
- 40:42SPEAKER_11: This, of course, is one of the most popular songs that the Syndicate plays as well.
- 40:47SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 40:48SPEAKER_11: So I just I saw the headline, and and for your benefit, I decided to uh to feature that one.
- 40:54SPEAKER_11: So it's Metallica doing sweet Caroline.
- 40:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they they they've they've they've come a long way.
- 41:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 41:02SPEAKER_11: Oh yes.
- 41:03SPEAKER_03: Because I remember when I saw them on the Black album tour.
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, every other word out of James's mouth was the F-bomb.
- 41:11SPEAKER_11: The F-bomb, yeah.
- 41:12SPEAKER_03: Now they're like they're like grandpa's.
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: So now they've cleaned up their ant line.
- 41:16SPEAKER_03: What did I see over the weekend?
- 41:18SPEAKER_11: Uh James, James Hetfield.
- 41:21SPEAKER_03: Uh, just it was his birthday not too long ago.
- 41:24SPEAKER_11: I think that's what I saw.
- 41:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 41:25SPEAKER_11: Was it him like um was it a birthday cake?
- 41:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he was wearing a shirt that said Jesus is my homeboy.
- 41:32SPEAKER_03: Right, that's the one I saw, yeah.
- 41:34SPEAKER_11: I was like, oh very cool.
- 41:37SPEAKER_11: Um so yeah, that's the music I wanted to share.
- 41:41SPEAKER_11: Um we uh I we it's about time to play mixtape.
- 41:45SPEAKER_11: I have not been able to come up with a song.
- 41:48SPEAKER_11: Do you remember what the question was?
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, uh what's your favorite hair metal song?
- 41:52SPEAKER_11: Hair metal song, yeah.
- 41:54SPEAKER_11: Um I I mean I have one, I'm a little embarrassed to to say it because we talked about at the end of the podcast or the middle of the podcast last week.
- 42:02SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 42:03SPEAKER_11: Um what constitutes hair metal.
- 42:06SPEAKER_11: Correct.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: And I Well, do you want me to read what Cousin Larry said?
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: Yes, I do.
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 42:18SPEAKER_03: Okay, so this is this is his cousin Larry.
- 42:21SPEAKER_03: There are so many great hair metal songs to choose from.
- 42:23SPEAKER_03: Welcome to the jungle.
- 42:25SPEAKER_03: Uh, we're not gonna take it.
- 42:27SPEAKER_03: Anything by Dawkins, Cinderella, Warrant, Rat, Oh, Skid Row 2.
- 42:31SPEAKER_03: I just bought their debut CD about a month ago.
- 42:33SPEAKER_03: I'm not uh Which one's he talking about?
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: Skidrow?
- 42:37SPEAKER_03: Maybe Skid Row.
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he must be talking about Skid Row.
- 42:40SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 42:40SPEAKER_03: Uh but the song I love to crank, and this is all in caps.
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: So he's putting emphasis on this.
- 42:46SPEAKER_03: But the song I love to crank going back to my college dorm room days is Mental Health.
- 42:51SPEAKER_03: Metal Health by Quiet Right.
- 42:52SPEAKER_03: Quite right.
- 42:53SPEAKER_03: Bang your head.
- 42:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:54SPEAKER_03: So that's what that's what cousin Larry said.
- 42:57SPEAKER_11: So let's um actually I I gotta make sure that I have that.
- 43:03SPEAKER_03: Uh just maybe very interesting.
- 43:17SPEAKER_11: Yes, of course, the great Kevin DuBrow on vocals.
- 43:21SPEAKER_11: It was the it was the band the band that Randy Rhodes started.
- 43:30SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 43:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah, see, this makes the one that I have in my head seem lame.
- 43:45SPEAKER_10: Lame.
- 43:45SPEAKER_10: Uh it's alright.
- 43:54SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that's a good choice.
- 43:57SPEAKER_10: So, so are we We're calling Def Leopard hair metal?
- 44:04SPEAKER_03: I I think it's up to interpretation.
- 44:06SPEAKER_03: I mean, if you want to call it Def Leopard hair metal, call it everyone.
- 44:09SPEAKER_11: See, now Def Leopard started in the late 70s.
- 44:11SPEAKER_11: They were the new wave of British heavy metal.
- 44:13SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 44:14SPEAKER_11: They turned into something, you know.
- 44:16SPEAKER_11: I mean, they had long hair, obviously.
- 44:18SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 44:19SPEAKER_11: And they're played on Hair Nation.
- 44:20SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 44:21SPEAKER_11: So I guess they could be considered hair metal, but that's not what I think of when I think of hair metal.
- 44:26SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 44:27SPEAKER_11: Um technically, this is not what I think of when I think of hair metal either.
- 44:35SPEAKER_03: Even though I tell you, I tell you what, when I think of it here, this song, Beaver Pierce.
- 44:42SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's a dances.
- 44:44SPEAKER_03: Dances.
- 44:45SPEAKER_03: Dancing to this song, and you know, like Dancing to any song, but yeah, this song.
- 44:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he was he was such a it was such a bizarre thing because he was like the strictest teacher in school.
- 44:59SPEAKER_03: He was feared.
- 45:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:01SPEAKER_03: Everybody was scared of him.
- 45:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:02SPEAKER_03: But when he would chaperone every single dance and he would dance.
- 45:06SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 45:06SPEAKER_03: And he was great at hardcore.
- 45:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:08SPEAKER_03: So I mean it's just so funny.
- 45:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 45:11SPEAKER_11: Um, alright, I'm gonna still keep the one in my head.
- 45:15SPEAKER_11: Um I want to hear yours.
- 45:18SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 45:19SPEAKER_11: Okay, so what is what is yours?
- 45:20SPEAKER_03: Mine was Dream Warriors by Dawkins.
- 45:22SPEAKER_11: Oh, that's a good one.
- 45:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 45:23SPEAKER_11: That's a good one.
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: Let me let me.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: I was I was gonna go.
- 45:26SPEAKER_03: I I I because I couldn't really think of any other hair metal bands that I I was because I was so into docking back in the day.
- 45:34SPEAKER_03: So I mean they were and they are hair metal.
- 45:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:37SPEAKER_03: So I'd had to go.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: I had to go.
- 45:39SPEAKER_03: I was gonna I was gonna be like, oh breaking the chains, but no.
- 45:43SPEAKER_03: But I absolutely love uh Dream Warriors, yeah.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: So I went with this one.
- 45:49SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that's a that's a good one.
- 45:51SPEAKER_10: And I would I guess I guess I would consider Dawkins hair metal.
- 46:01SPEAKER_03: Well, you have to because in the beginning, uh in their early videos, Don Dawkins is made up like a right his makeup and mascara and all that stuff.
- 46:10SPEAKER_03: So you yeah, it's hair metal, yes.
- 46:18SPEAKER_11: So so can because I have two songs in mind, but one of them is from later in this band's career, like in the 90s, and the other one is in the 80s, which I would consider the the heyday of hair metal.
- 46:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 46:36SPEAKER_11: Which one should I go with?
- 46:37SPEAKER_11: Now we go with the 80s one.
- 46:38SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah.
- 47:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:07SPEAKER_03: Uh part three, yeah.
- 47:10SPEAKER_03: I just went the video is hilarious because you know, it's it's basically a the nightmare set.
- 47:15SPEAKER_03: They used it.
- 47:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:17SPEAKER_03: And George Lynch is stoned out of his mind.
- 47:20SPEAKER_10: And doesn't he have the skull guitar?
- 47:21SPEAKER_10: Yeah, he's using the skull guitar.
- 47:22SPEAKER_10: And the skull guitar comes alive or something.
- 47:24SPEAKER_10: No, no, no.
- 47:26SPEAKER_10: No?
- 47:28SPEAKER_10: Not that I remember.
- 47:29SPEAKER_11: No?
- 47:30SPEAKER_11: No, I don't think so.
- 47:31SPEAKER_03: I don't think it comes alive.
- 47:33SPEAKER_03: I thought it did.
- 47:34SPEAKER_03: I don't think so.
- 47:35SPEAKER_03: Hold on, hold on.
- 47:36SPEAKER_03: We're gonna have to uh investigate.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: So, you know.
- 47:39SPEAKER_03: No, I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
- 47:41SPEAKER_03: I just I just like it because Freddie Kruger's in it.
- 47:43SPEAKER_03: And uh Patricia Arquette, of course.
- 47:46SPEAKER_03: So yeah, let me see here.
- 47:49SPEAKER_11: I'm just gonna go ahead.
- 47:52SPEAKER_03: Well, they're all they all got like, you know, zombie makeup on it.
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: It's friggin' hilarious.
- 48:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 48:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 48:05SPEAKER_10: Is there a song with a with a s the skull or the I don't think so.
- 48:10SPEAKER_03: Not that I remember.
- 48:12SPEAKER_03: I mean he's using the yeah, you know, the guitar the the skull.
- 48:16SPEAKER_03: Now you think that's a makeup job on Jordan Link, but I'm pretty sure that's just what Hang looked like at that time.
- 48:21SPEAKER_03: I'm sure it is, you know.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: Because he says he was stoned out of his mind doing this video with this.
- 48:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, of course Freddie comes up and you know takes him on.
- 48:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 48:36SPEAKER_03: Now, I you know, I can understand why Freddie was scared of Don Dawkins because I mean Don Dawkins is just terrifying on his own, you know what I mean?
- 48:46SPEAKER_03: Just of course you you know anything with Mick Brown I can't take seriously anyway, because the dude is just he's just so funny.
- 48:58SPEAKER_03: Well, they call him Wild Mick Brown.
- 48:59SPEAKER_03: Wild Mick Brown.
- 49:00SPEAKER_03: Wild McBrown.
- 49:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 49:01SPEAKER_03: So Okay, so look at that face.
- 49:03SPEAKER_03: I mean, would that wouldn't that scare you off?
- 49:06SPEAKER_03: That would scare me off.
- 49:07SPEAKER_03: And then you know, if he was going to tell you a story, you'd be just like, oh my, oh my word, just slash my throat now.
- 49:12SPEAKER_03: Just kill me, Freddie.
- 49:14SPEAKER_03: Kill me.
- 49:14SPEAKER_11: Alright, so you want mine?
- 49:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I want to hear mine.
- 49:17SPEAKER_11: Alright, so I actually it's not my favorite band.
- 49:22SPEAKER_11: I don't really like this band very much.
- 49:24SPEAKER_11: Sure.
- 49:24SPEAKER_11: Um but I like this song.
- 49:27SPEAKER_11: And I when I think of Harry Metal, this is the band I think of.
- 49:31SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 49:31SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 49:32SPEAKER_11: So let's see.
- 49:39SPEAKER_03: Well, this ought to be interesting.
- 49:42SPEAKER_03: It's poison.
- 49:43SPEAKER_11: It is it is poison.
- 49:45SPEAKER_03: Wonder which one.
- 49:45SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 49:46SPEAKER_03: Oh, Fallen Angel.
- 49:47SPEAKER_03: Fallen Angel.
- 49:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, this is a great song, man.
- 49:49SPEAKER_10: Um I just like this rip.
- 49:55SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 49:55SPEAKER_10: I like the story.
- 50:13SPEAKER_11: This is just a you know, the common story of a woman, of a woman or a young woman.
- 50:19SPEAKER_11: Typical Hollywood.
- 50:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, going out to try and make it big and getting sucked up into the lifestyle and sex drugs and rock and roll kind of things.
- 50:28SPEAKER_10: Exactly.
- 50:31SPEAKER_11: And I think you can't really I can't say this about a lot of poison songs, but uh it's a great story, and they it actually is, it's one of their better written ones.
- 50:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it actually has a story.
- 50:43SPEAKER_03: You know, it's just not about sex drugs and rock and roll, right?
- 50:47SPEAKER_03: Use your usual poison pair.
- 50:52SPEAKER_10: But it's that forest, yeah.
- 51:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah, so that's my choice.
- 51:08SPEAKER_11: Fallen angel by poison.
- 51:09SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna show you the that's my official choice.
- 51:12SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 51:13SPEAKER_11: Uh now I want to now I want to show you the second one that I got.
- 51:16SPEAKER_11: Same band.
- 51:17SPEAKER_11: Same band.
- 51:17SPEAKER_11: Same band, right?
- 51:21SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, another great song.
- 51:22SPEAKER_03: Ride the wind.
- 51:23SPEAKER_03: Ride the wind, yeah.
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: It's from the 90s, right?
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: I think it's from their uh towards the end of the hair metal.
- 51:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:29SPEAKER_11: You know, as brunch was native or is it native?
- 51:32SPEAKER_11: No, it's not native tone.
- 51:33SPEAKER_03: It's uh time period.
- 51:36SPEAKER_03: Flesh and blood.
- 51:37SPEAKER_03: Flesh and blood, yeah.
- 51:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, see I I I like this.
- 51:45SPEAKER_11: Did he say lick the wind?
- 51:46SPEAKER_11: Lick the wind.
- 51:47SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 51:48SPEAKER_11: Just making sure.
- 51:49SPEAKER_11: This isn't my choice, though.
- 51:50SPEAKER_11: So to our to our impartial judge, Fallen Angel is my choice.
- 51:54SPEAKER_11: I just want to.
- 51:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I just want angel to throw that.
- 51:57SPEAKER_11: So we have um Metal Health by Quiet Riot.
- 52:00SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 52:00SPEAKER_11: We have Dream Warriors from Dawkins.
- 52:02SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 52:02SPEAKER_11: And Fallen Angel from Poison.
- 52:04SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 52:05SPEAKER_11: Those are our three three uh hair metal songs.
- 52:09SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 52:09SPEAKER_03: Now I need to Did we did we do one last week?
- 52:16SPEAKER_03: No.
- 52:17SPEAKER_03: Because we've been off.
- 52:18SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 52:18SPEAKER_03: That's what I thought.
- 52:19SPEAKER_03: So we this will this will be brand new.
- 52:20SPEAKER_03: But now we have to do for the next time.
- 52:23SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 52:24SPEAKER_03: So Alright.
- 52:26SPEAKER_03: Let me uh struggle with this.
- 52:31SPEAKER_03: This is hard.
- 52:35SPEAKER_03: Dear people that made mixtape, could you make the game easier to control?
- 52:40SPEAKER_03: Maybe I got an electronic version, maybe an app on my phone.
- 52:43SPEAKER_03: I bet you there is one.
- 52:44SPEAKER_03: I bet there is.
- 52:45SPEAKER_03: And I should have found it first!
- 52:48SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna look that up while you're while you're finding the question.
- 52:51SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 52:51SPEAKER_03: Let me see.
- 52:52SPEAKER_03: I gotta switch it out here.
- 52:55SPEAKER_03: Okay, let's uh let's find another let's find another mixtape question.
- 53:04SPEAKER_03: Okay, this is an interesting one.
- 53:08SPEAKER_03: You ready?
- 53:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 53:09SPEAKER_03: Road trip to Vegas song.
- 53:13SPEAKER_03: A road trip to Vegas song.
- 53:15SPEAKER_03: Yes, road trip to Vegas song.
- 53:17SPEAKER_03: Let me send it to Cousin Larry.
- 53:20SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 53:21SPEAKER_03: So this is just called Road Trip to Vegas song.
- 53:33SPEAKER_03: Vegas, huh?
- 53:34SPEAKER_03: Road trip to Vegas.
- 53:36SPEAKER_11: I don't want to say anything, but like, because I mean I might skew the Sure.
- 53:43SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 53:44SPEAKER_11: Can we rule out the obvious?
- 53:47SPEAKER_11: Like anything that has Vegas in it?
- 53:49SPEAKER_11: No, like Viva Las Vegas.
- 53:51SPEAKER_11: Rule it out.
- 53:52SPEAKER_11: No.
- 53:52unknown: No.
- 53:53SPEAKER_03: Any any song is is is I think any song is valid.
- 53:57SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 53:58SPEAKER_03: So if you want to choose Viva Las Vegas?
- 54:00SPEAKER_03: I don't.
- 54:01SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 54:05SPEAKER_03: Cousin Larry.
- 54:08SPEAKER_03: Where's that?
- 54:15SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 54:19SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 54:22SPEAKER_03: Apparently Doug has become a Muppet.
- 54:25SPEAKER_03: So wouldn't that be cool?
- 54:27SPEAKER_03: Well you have one behind you.
- 54:28SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 54:30SPEAKER_03: Everybody.
- 54:32SPEAKER_03: Uh beaker.
- 54:39SPEAKER_03: I I just I'm just making apparently that's my thing now, just making nonsensical noises.
- 54:45SPEAKER_03: It's fun.
- 54:46SPEAKER_03: It is fun.
- 54:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:47SPEAKER_03: I find myself doing it.
- 54:48SPEAKER_03: I think somebody caught me at work doing it.
- 54:50SPEAKER_03: And they were they're like, what are you doing?
- 54:53SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, I don't know.
- 54:54SPEAKER_03: It just makes me feel good.
- 54:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:56SPEAKER_03: What's wrong with that?
- 54:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so I just want to get it.
- 55:00SPEAKER_11: Because I'm always doing it.
- 55:02SPEAKER_11: It's funny that you should say that because my wife noticed, like, within the past, I don't know, five or ten years.
- 55:09SPEAKER_11: Maybe five years.
- 55:10SPEAKER_11: No, I think it's been longer than that.
- 55:13SPEAKER_11: I just hum and I never used to.
- 55:15SPEAKER_11: I like I like like when I'm walking down the hall.
- 55:22SPEAKER_03: Well, I think it's uh I think it's an unconscious thing to uh uh warn any ghosts in your past.
- 55:28SPEAKER_03: You think so?
- 55:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's you're just like I'm coming.
- 55:33SPEAKER_03: I don't want to see any bloody walls when I get into this room.
- 55:36SPEAKER_11: It's like I have to take the trash out to the shed in the middle of the night, and it's anything.
- 55:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, speaking uh, I gotta tell you this story.
- 55:46SPEAKER_03: And it involves uh the Ridge Runner.
- 55:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 55:49SPEAKER_03: Well, not not him personally, but uh I was at my house, and this was the middle of July.
- 55:55SPEAKER_03: Saturday night.
- 55:56SPEAKER_03: I'm outside sitting, and this car drives by and it hits something.
- 56:03SPEAKER_03: Oh and I was like, what in the frig?
- 56:08SPEAKER_03: And so I I didn't think anything of it.
- 56:12SPEAKER_03: I just uh because they they hit it and they just kept going.
- 56:15SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 56:15SPEAKER_03: Well then I see them backing up.
- 56:17SPEAKER_03: They're directly in front of the house.
- 56:19SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, oh my word, what uh they must have really done some damage or something, whatever they hit, because you could you could it was a palpable hit.
- 56:26SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 56:28SPEAKER_03: So so three girls get out of the car, three teenage girls.
- 56:32SPEAKER_11: Oh no.
- 56:32SPEAKER_03: And I automatically recognize two of them as as the Ridge Runners' daughters.
- 56:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 56:37SPEAKER_03: And I think the third one was uh she lives down the road.
- 56:41SPEAKER_03: And I saw them and I was like, oh, they didn't see me.
- 56:43SPEAKER_03: They they didn't see me sitting outside.
- 56:46SPEAKER_03: And I could hear them talking, and they all got their phones out with the flashlights looking in.
- 56:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 56:50SPEAKER_03: They hit a rabbit.
- 56:51SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 56:52SPEAKER_03: And it was laying there dead in the road, right?
- 56:56SPEAKER_03: And they're like, what do we this is uh one of them is checking out the car, one's got the the phone on the rabbit.
- 57:02SPEAKER_03: Like, what do we do?
- 57:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well this is this is the this is the the most BA thing I think I've seen out of a teenage girl in a long time.
- 57:13SPEAKER_03: The girl that the one that was driving, one of Glenny's daughters, picks up the rabbit and throws it into the woods.
- 57:20SPEAKER_03: Good for her.
- 57:21SPEAKER_03: I was like, that is awesome.
- 57:24SPEAKER_10: Good for her.
- 57:24SPEAKER_03: And so I I eventually walked over.
- 57:27SPEAKER_03: I go, is everybody okay?
- 57:28SPEAKER_03: And they're like, yeah, we're okay.
- 57:30SPEAKER_03: I was like, is there any damage to your car?
- 57:32SPEAKER_03: No, I don't think so.
- 57:33SPEAKER_03: We're okay.
- 57:34SPEAKER_03: Well, thank you for checking on us.
- 57:36SPEAKER_03: Of course, they don't they don't know who I am.
- 57:37SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 57:38SPEAKER_03: So this creep dad, this creepy old man came out of nowhere.
- 57:42SPEAKER_03: Well, I didn't, I didn't, I wasn't going to say anything.
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: I was just gonna sit there and let them do their thing.
- 57:47SPEAKER_03: But once once they actually once she actually picked up the rabbit and just she picked it up by the leg, just tossed it in the woods.
- 57:56SPEAKER_03: I'm like, wow.
- 57:57SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 57:58SPEAKER_03: That girl is awesome.
- 58:00SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna I'm gonna did you relay that story to I did not.
- 58:03SPEAKER_11: I did not because I'm gonna see him.
- 58:04SPEAKER_03: I literally just saw I just thought of it.
- 58:07SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna see him on Thursday.
- 58:08SPEAKER_03: Are you?
- 58:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, ask him about that.
- 58:10SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna take my van in on Thursday.
- 58:11SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'll see him.
- 58:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was just it was hysterical.
- 58:15SPEAKER_03: I was just like, that is awesome.
- 58:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 58:18SPEAKER_03: Because I, you know, I would have thought they'd be like, ew, man, no, she just picked it up.
- 58:23SPEAKER_03: Crossed me in the woods.
- 58:24SPEAKER_03: I was like, man, that's awesome.
- 58:25SPEAKER_03: Good for her.
- 58:26SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 58:27SPEAKER_11: Uh so that is mixtape.
- 58:29SPEAKER_11: So we're gonna take a break and we'll come back and we will do the bonus beetles pit and uh climb the wall of tunes.
- 58:37SPEAKER_11: Sit right there.
- 58:38SPEAKER_11: Don't move.
- 58:39SPEAKER_11: Stop everything you're doing.
- 58:41SPEAKER_11: Stay where you are.
- 58:42SPEAKER_11: Not you, you when you find the song.

- 1:00:10SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_11: And while that's going on, you're going to read from the uh Hard Days Right.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_11: Hard Days Right by Steve Turner.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_11: And I'm going to take off my headphones and pick an album.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_03: Hey, here we go.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_03: From the great Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Cold Band album.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_03: Song is this week A Day in the Life.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_03: Yay! Alright, so here we go.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_03: For She Said She said, John had combined two of his unfinished songs, but here, for the first time, he put together an unfinished song of his own with one of Paul's to create A Day in the Life.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_03: The track that many regard as the most outstanding on Sergeant Pepper, which I would agree with.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_03: John's part of the finished song was drawn from his interminable newspaper reading.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_03: The reference to the 4,000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire, came from the far and near column in the Daily Mail dated January 17, 1967.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_03: This reported that a Blackburn City Council survey of road holes had revealed the mind-boggling fact that there were there was one twenty-six of a hole in the road for each Blackburn resident.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_03: Wow! Oh my goodness.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_03: When John was stuck for an ending to the line, now they know how many holes it takes to fill.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: Needing something that rhymed with a small, Terry Doran, his friend from the motor trade, suggested the Albert Hall.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_03: The film about the English Army winning the war, referred to in the lyric, was How I Won the War, which John had himself acted in.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_03: Although the subject of several articles, the film wasn't premiered until October 1967.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_03: The man who blew his mind out in a car was Tara Brown, an Irish friend of the Beatles and a well-known socialite who met his death in a car accident.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_03: Oh wow, this is really long.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_03: I don't know if I want to read this whole thing.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_03: Do I?
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_03: But it is a long song.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_03: Uh Blue Eyes Minor Card, December 18th, 1966.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_03: Corners Report.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_03: It was issued in 1967.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_03: Okay, man.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_03: Now this is this is really long.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_03: I thought it was just really short.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_03: Okay, but anyway, I'm gonna I'm gonna just do the last one.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_03: Uh last part of it here.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_03: Uh the references to having a smoke, dreams, and turn-ons meant that the track was banned from the airwaves in many countries.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_03: There were even some who were right here.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, sorry.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that part.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_03: Um uh there were even some who were convinced that the holes in Blackburn, like the holes Paul had been keen to fix, were heroin addicts track marks.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_03: In 1968, Paul admitted that A Day in a Life was what he called a turn-on song.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_03: This was the only one on the album written as deliberate provocation provation, thank you very much.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_03: He said, But what we want to do is to turn you on to the truth rather than on to pot.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_03: George Martin comments, the woke up, the woke up got out of bed right here.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_04: Fell out of bed, tried to come across the bigger.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_03: The woke up got out of bed, but was definitely a reference to marijuana, but fixing a hole wasn't about heroin, and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds wasn't about LSD.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_03: I had a strong suspicion that went upstairs and had a smoke was a drug reference.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_03: They always used to disappear and have a little puff, but not in front of me.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_03: They used to go down to the canteen and Mal Evans used to guard it.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_03: So there was a lot more to that, but uh that was it's a long song and a long article, so we're just gonna It's a great song.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_03: It is an awesome song.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_11: Um, my camera has stopped recording.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_11: Oh, that's good.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_11: Yours is still going.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_11: Is it?
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_11: So I guess the promo is gonna be all you this week.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_02: Way to go, video Doug!
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_11: Alright, so there you go.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_11: You bonus people's bits, a day in the life from the Beatles.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_11: Uh I have an album.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_11: I don't think you're gonna get it.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_11: I could be wrong, but I don't think I don't think you know this band.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_11: I'm sorry, I don't think you know this artist.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_03: Oh, so it's a band.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_03: Well, there goes question number one.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_03: That's out of the question.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_11: Oh, you gotta say the I do have an album, so let the guessing begin.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_11: Is it a band?
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_03: Uh Rock band?
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_03: Uh rock band?
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_03: Height of popularity.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_11: Uh now, I guess.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_11: Oh, now?
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_03: I'm definitely not gonna get it.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I think well let me give you a hint.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_11: Because this band was a was an original let's see.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_11: Originally was a legendary band.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_11: Um, but a couple of the band members retired.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_11: So instead of going on as this legendary band, they changed the name of the band.
- 1:05:37SPEAKER_11: So it's it's hard for me to I don't think you've ever heard of them actually.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_11: Um Can I tell you what the legendary band is?
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_11: Okay, so Thin Lizzie.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_11: Oh, I'm not gonna get it.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_11: You're not gonna get it.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_11: So Thin Lizzie, uh of course uh British slash Irish band, 'cause Phil Phil in it was was Irish.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_11: Um Scott Gorham was on guitar, and there were a couple other, you know, just you know, uh legendary artists that were in Thin Lizzie.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_11: Gary Moore was on guitar for a while.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_11: Um and so obviously Gary Moore died.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_11: Um they didn't have John Sykes from Whitesnake sang lead for a while.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_11: But then they got a singer named Ricky Warwick.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_11: Um and he sang for Thin Lizzie, you know, in the in the later stages of their existence.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_11: And then Scott Gorham uh decided he didn't want to do Thin Lizzie anymore.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_11: So he helped start this off shoot band, uh, and they put out a couple albums and then he retired.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_11: So the band still exists.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_11: Um and it's I don't know if you've ever heard of them.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_11: I I actually like 'em.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_11: Uh Black Star Writers.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, I've heard of them.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_11: You have heard of them.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_11: I have heard of them.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_11: You never would have guessed it.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_11: You never would have guessed it.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_11: So this this album is Wrong Side of Paradise.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_11: Um, and it came out in uh two years ago.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_11: 2020, is that right?
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_11: 2023.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_11: No, what last year.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_11: Last year, yeah.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_11: Last year.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_11: Wow.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_11: Um we'll just sample that because you'll be able to hear the um similarities.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_03: I'm just checking to make sure we actually never done these guys.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_03: So I don't think we have.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_11: Oh, hold on, hold on.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_11: I still got the Beatles going.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_03: I was about to say that something sounds very off about this.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, hold on.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_03: Let's let's pause that.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_03: Let's uh there we go.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_10: So it's a very modern sounding rock band.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_11: Well when Ricky Warwick starts singing, you can see why he was he was singing lead for Finn Lizzie.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_09: You're moving slow and acting like nobody built.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_09: Don't you ever get full in.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_09: Don't you ever get lonely?
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_09: Don't ever get on you.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_09: Don't do it.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_11: And uh I don't know if you know who Robbie Crane is.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_11: No, I think I think he played for Rat for a while.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_11: Uh he plays bass.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_11: So that song is called Hustle.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_11: This is the title cut from this album right here.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_11: This is wrong side of paradise.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_10: I mean it's just straight up straight up rock.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_10: It sounds like the last one.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_09: It does actually have a lot of things.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_11: So we haven't done these yet.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_11: No.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_11: I I guarantee you I didn't dump the bowl most last year or something.
- 1:09:49unknown: Don't wait to pay your bed.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_11: Just play the pizza one more and then we'll we'll end the podcast.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_11: This life will be the death of me.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_03: Ah, yeah.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_09: We have a place to stay.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_09: More uncle things we cannot change.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_09: Not till we raise.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_09: All over the back, down to the right.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_10: This black boy will be so again, nothing spectacular, just a great rock album.
- 1:11:11SPEAKER_11: Black Star Writers.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_11: Is it a trio?
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_11: Uh no.
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_11: So it's a it's a four-piece.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_11: Oh, it's four-piece, okay.
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_11: Uh I don't think you know the other members.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_11: Robbie Crane and uh Ricky Warwick are the guys that I think you would know.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_11: Um you have Christian Martucci on lead guitar and vocals, and Zach St.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_11: John on drums.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_11: So very good.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_11: It's a good band.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's good, man.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_11: It's good stuff.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_11: I recommend it.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_11: Oh Stuff me.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_11: They've got a few albums out now, I think.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:11:39SPEAKER_11: Three, maybe, three, three maybe four.
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_11: But I think I think only three.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_11: But anyway, good stuff.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_11: I like it all.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_11: Okay, so that's episode 206.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah, man.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_11: In the books.
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_11: Uh we have a gig this weekend.
- 1:11:54SPEAKER_11: Yes, we do.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_11: We're up in the valley this weekend.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_11: Um, and then we have a is it uh the next one we have is a private one.
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_11: Is that right?
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_11: Is that next Friday?
- 1:12:06SPEAKER_11: It's the 17th.
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_11: Is that a Friday?
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_11: I think it's Saturday.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_11: Oh, sat yeah, no, it's a Saturday.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_11: You're right.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_11: We have some some shows coming up uh personally, actually.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_11: You and I.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_11: Um that's let's see.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, 17th is a Saturday, so that's the private one.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_03: Is there anything on the 16th?
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_11: Uh I've got Yes.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_11: Well you and I have a gig in Mapleton.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_11: The 16th.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_11: Friday.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_03: That's what I was thinking of.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, 17th is the private party that we're playing.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_03: Right, and the other one is a private party.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_11: Well, it's it's a it's a anniversary, um, but it's not open to the public.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_11: I don't know why it wouldn't be open to the public.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_11: That's a little weird.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_11: It is weird.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_11: Um, and then you and I are playing again uh at a class reunion on August 24th.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_11: But before that, we're playing Skinny Elvis 22nd.

- 1:13:05SPEAKER_11: Oh, I tried to, but it wasn't working right.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_11: So let me let me move that again.
