- 3:53Well, Welcome, welcome, Welcome to another episode of The Crew Podcast.
- 3:58Of course, I am the visionary Queen Angela. I am coming from
- 4:03behind the scenes. I hope you guys can hear me. We were having
- 4:06some technical difficulties, Like always, every time we go live, it's always
- 4:11something. The end is always busy, always trying to throw us off track.
- 4:17But you know what, y'all, we never stop. We keep pushing.
- 4:20I tell you, this year has truly been a trying season. But
- 4:25one thing if you have not learned on this journey with me, is that
- 4:30I don't give up. I don't quit. That's one thing that I have
- 4:36learned on this journey, and I've learned that it is called resilience. It
- 4:43is the wheel and the will that will not let you give up, that
- 4:46will not let you quit, that will not let you throw in the towel.
- 4:50And y'all, as we are coming up on the end of this twenty
- 4:56twenty three, I must say that it truly has been a year to truly
- 5:03reflect on and to look back on. I've had the opportunity to work with
- 5:09some amazing people. Every chance, every opportunity that I get, I do
- 5:13not count it lightly. I take it, and I counted our joy because
- 5:19God could have chose anybody, but yet he chose me. And that's the
- 5:26attitude that we all should have going into twenty twenty four. Whatever your journey
- 5:32is, whatever your course is, whatever it is that He has called you
- 5:36too, because if we are reminded of Jeremiah twenty nine and eleven, it
- 5:43clearly states that he says, I know the plans that I have for you,
- 5:48declass the lords, plans not to harm you, but plans to prosper
- 5:55you, plans for you to be in to have hope in a future.
- 6:00And I truly counted our joy to be in that number, to be able
- 6:04to be an individual, to have another chance. You know, I don't
- 6:10say a second chance anymore, because we've had second chances, but it's just
- 6:15another chance that we get. It's not a second chance because he's given me.
- 6:21I stop counting how many chances he's given me, because it's just been
- 6:25another chance after another chance, after another chance, and every day that I
- 6:29wake up, I have another opportunity to impact lives, another opportunity to educate
- 6:34and power and encourage. So I definitely don't take it lightly. I'm excited
- 6:41that season two, we're gonna have another opportunity to pour into individuals' lives.
- 6:47If you have been a part of the Crew Podcast, if you've been a
- 6:51guest on the Crew Podcast, I just want to thank you, and I
- 6:56want you to tune in on Sunday Night as we cap the season. Those
- 7:02that have been on. We're gonna talk about those shows, the ups and
- 7:08downs that we had. You know, we're gonna talk about it all.
- 7:12It's gonna be UNCANDID, it's gonna be it's gonna be raw, it's gonna
- 7:16be straight from our feelings to to your household on Sunday Night. But this
- 7:23is an opportunity for you to chime in, for you to share just how
- 7:30you've enjoyed the season, how we can improve what you would like to see
- 7:35in season two. We do have one new host that's gonna be joining us.
- 7:42Hopefully those other two that reached out to me will come on board and
- 7:46we'll have three new hosts to join us for season two. I'm excited.
- 7:54I get excited to work with individuals and be able to pour my expertise in
- 8:01those things that I've learned along the way. I don't profess to be an
- 8:07expert at a lot of things, but I just want to share my experience
- 8:15that hopes that it will help somebody else to be able to get further in
- 8:18life, to just get another step further, that they may move a little
- 8:26closer to that that they are seeking to do their journey. I tell you
- 8:31I had a guess. I'm not sure what happened, but y'all know,
- 8:37in podcasting and radio and TV and whatever it is that you do, you
- 8:43always have to have a backup plan. You always have to, you know,
- 8:48prepare for the unexpected, prepare just in case. So you always keep
- 8:54you a plan b uh in a plan see sometime in case planning b don't
- 9:00come through, you always keep something in the in the works. And that's
- 9:05what I tell people. You got to be willing to be diverse. You
- 9:09got to be willing to be able to, you know, share it the
- 9:13drop of a dive. And I tell people, if you stay ready,
- 9:18you don't have to get ready. So you got to stay ready so you
- 9:20don't have to get ready. So I always be prepared because you never know
- 9:26what may happen, and that I have learned that in broadcasting learning that you
- 9:33know, you may have plan A and B in place, but then God
- 9:41wants to plan C to come forth, and then you got to move A
- 9:46and B out of the way so C can come forth. So just just
- 9:50stay ready and be prepared to drop to move at the drop of your dive.
- 9:56And when when you're passionate about the things that you're doing, and you
- 10:05you you can just got at the drop of a die. Because there's so
- 10:09many different topics that I am passionate about that if somebody call on me,
- 10:16they'd be like, can can you talk for thirty minutes about this? Yes,
- 10:20that, this, and that, So be prepared and and and be
- 10:24willing. I tell you I've not always been in a place where I've been
- 10:30able to do this. I do have a guest on here with me and
- 10:35we're just gonna have a casual conversation. This individual is of course incarcerated,
- 10:43and a lot of times they don't get to, you know, talk about
- 10:48just you know, just just have those open conversations with with people. So
- 10:54tonight I have mister Carnell. Mister Carnell, Hey, he is near and
- 11:01nearer to my heart, a close friend of mine, and every chance I
- 11:09get, I try to bring him on and allow him to share, you
- 11:13know, those things that's going on behind TDC J Walls because that's what he's
- 11:20currently incarcerated for over thirty years, and we like to help bring help him
- 11:28to bring light to a lot of the things that's going on behind coast those
- 11:33and those things that they are working on. Because people think that individuals are
- 11:39incarcerated, that all they doing is just being idle and just utilizing the tax
- 11:46pillers money. When they're not. Some of them are over there working on
- 11:50programs and things for when they get out and things for how they can help
- 11:56make this world a better place. Because when you look at a lot of
- 12:00situation, and I know a lot of people be like, oh that she
- 12:03go again that she go again. But y'all, I can't stop talking about
- 12:05it because it's an issue. And when there's an issue, we have to
- 12:09talk about those things and bring those things to the forefront so that hopefully some
- 12:16things can change and begin to change. Because again, our motto is,
- 12:20we are to change that we desire to see in this world. And in
- 12:24order to see change, we have to be that change. So that with
- 12:28that being said, I'm gonna move out the way and I'm gonna allow Miter
- 12:35Drummer to come up because y'all know that they time is amad and I'm not
- 12:39gonna stay on here before y'all very long. I just wanted to jump on.
- 12:43Y'all know I try to stay obedient with with making sure that we have
- 12:48content. When I signed up, when I signed on to Bring forth this
- 12:54podcast, I signed on two bring and be here to fulfill that obligation nightly
- 13:05eight pm every single night. That was something that I was dedicated to for
- 13:11this season, and I'm dedicated going into season two. I'm excited because I
- 13:18believe that, you know, God is gonna do bigger and better things with
- 13:20these hosts that are a part of the crew. Podcast A lot of them
- 13:28then think that they could do what they're doing, and some of them have
- 13:33evolved into some amazing podcasters and broadcasters and journalists because they don't realize that they
- 13:41are also journalists. So hey, I'm gonna move on out the way,
- 13:46mister Carnell. I want you to come on on and however you led tonight,
- 13:52I don't know how you are led to share on tonight or what you
- 13:56would like to share on tonight, but I'm you you to flow for a
- 14:01couple of minutes and allow you to share from your perspectives. Okay, ma'am,
- 14:05thank you very much for having me. First of all, I'm gonna
- 14:09say thank you, ma'am a lot because you know, you know, being
- 14:11a part of the Texans Free Texas campaign and Pool podcasts and you know your
- 14:18platform, ma'am. You know I can honestly say, ma'am that you have
- 14:22created it a lot of hope for a lot of people, ma'am with what
- 14:24you do now, I'm not being locked up for thirty three years, man.
- 14:28And believe this here, I never, in my whole wildest team ever
- 14:33thought that something like this could ever happen. That people like your sales ma'am,
- 14:37would be you know what I'm saying, somebody who could bring hope to
- 14:39people like us, you know, because they cast us out. They think
- 14:43that now we don't even matter anymore to society. So with that, man
- 14:48said, ma'am, we've lost hoping here. You know, we don't have
- 14:50no programs to rehabilitators. They don't tell about rehabilitation. We short of staff
- 14:56now. I mean, it just creates, you know, depression in us
- 14:58right now. The way they feed us. Man, we get Johnny's every
- 15:01day, you know, ma'am. And this is sad, but you know,
- 15:05I want to say this man that you know, since being a part
- 15:07of the Cool Podcast, Man, being a part of pretexted campaign, Man,
- 15:11you know, I've created that ideas, ma'am. You know what I'm
- 15:13saying, that can help me, you know, upon my release now,
- 15:16to be able to get out there and share what I've belonged through the Cool
- 15:18Podcast from the Texas campaign with people that's on the outside, to take take
- 15:24this platform, man, to go out there and try to educate you.
- 15:28It's just you know out there that's going through you know, gang violence and
- 15:31you know, thinking about doing things wrong and drugs and stuff like that,
- 15:35to try to encourage them not to make the wrong decisions, to get caught
- 15:39up in something like I've gotten myself caught up being ma'am. You know,
- 15:43being in course rated, ma'am is a very tragic thing. You know,
- 15:45people you know could commit crimes and people who in their lives are also very
- 15:48tragic. But ma'am, that's always like you said, ma'am, God giving
- 15:52us a second chance at life to because of that man, you know,
- 15:56I want to say that He's giving me a second chance, you know what
- 15:58I'm saying because of that everything to utilize the tunity that he's given me through
- 16:03what I want to try to do better and make, you know, people,
- 16:07other people's lives better. Amount so I have. I've been looking at
- 16:17a lot of the different reviews and a lot of the different comments that I
- 16:23have been receiving from individuals that have been tuning in to the podcast and listening
- 16:32on this journey of sharing other people's journey I've had As the co founder of
- 16:38the Free Texas Campaign, I've had the opportunity to interview a lot of incarcerated
- 16:45individuals, giving them the opportunity to share their stories, you know, and
- 16:49I've had so much backlash. You know, some people come in my inbox.
- 16:55Some people are even bold enough to post on TikTok and the other various
- 17:00platforms that I am on, asking me how do I do this? And
- 17:04why am I doing this? And what about the victims families? And I
- 17:11have to share with them. Not everybody that come on my show have done
- 17:17the crimes that these people are legend that they've done. Very few people that
- 17:23have been on my show have actually done the crimes that they have been accused
- 17:30of doing. Evidence have proven that these people have not done the crimes.
- 17:34But for the ones that have done the crimes, and I have to say
- 17:40this to the people that have been making those negative comments. If you go
- 17:47back and you read your Bible, and you truly understand your Bible and grasp
- 17:52your Bible and understand your Bible, there were people in the Bible that committed
- 17:57crimes. Crimes have been committed throughout century. But do you not think that
- 18:04they were not forgiving of their crimes. A lot of us that are free
- 18:10at the truth be told, a lot of us should be behind prison walls
- 18:14or have done time because of things that we have done wrong. But did
- 18:18not get caught. So when I tell people, if you can point the
- 18:23finger and the finger not pomp back at your glasshouse and break your window,
- 18:27then continue to point the finger and continue to criticize. But I will continue
- 18:33to do what I do because it was laid on my heart. It was
- 18:36laid on my heart to be an outlet and to be a voice for that
- 18:41person that at that particular time was voiceless or had no voice. So for
- 18:48that person, forgiveness it's all about forgiveness. And it's not always for the
- 18:56person that is seeking forgiveness either. Sometimes it's for the person that needs to
- 19:02do the forgiven. So I said that to say this, I always have
- 19:10a forgiven heart and don't hold b grudge. It's because the word already tells
- 19:15us that the revengees is the Lord's, not ours. So it's up to
- 19:19us to forgive. You know, I had to find in my heart to
- 19:23forgive my husband for the domestic violence shooting that occurred in my life because if
- 19:32I didn't, and I carried around all that hate and that hatred in my
- 19:36heart, y'all, I wouldn't be able to do a lot of the things
- 19:37that I do and that's what a lot of us, we are unknowingly caring
- 19:47around a lot of hate and a lot of unforgiveness, and we wonder why
- 19:52we are stagnated and why we cannot move past where we are, and why
- 19:57so many things are happening in our life because we're walking around with unforgiveness when
- 20:03we think that we are are being a forgiven person. So I say that
- 20:08to say this, I won't stop doing what I'm doing until he instruct me
- 20:15to do different. That's what I'm gonna do, and I'm sorry if I
- 20:18offend people. You have the option to not tune in and to not listen,
- 20:26you know, but this is for people that you know. Want to
- 20:30support those that you know have found in their hard to be a support system
- 20:37and to be that voice. So y'all continue to share this out, continue
- 20:42to allow those individuals to be helpmates. You know, everybody is not gonna
- 20:52be for you. And that's what I often tell people that you know,
- 20:55my give faith for everybody, your give thank for everybody, your story,
- 20:59for every everything, everybody. And I sometimes, y'all, I'm passionate about
- 21:06what I do. So I do have I love to talk and I have
- 21:08that takeover spirit, so I'll take over the show. I'll take over and
- 21:12I'll get the talking. But I just had to get that out, y'all.
- 21:17I had to let that was laid on my heart, so I had
- 21:18to get it out. But mister Carnell, I know, even in your
- 21:26incarceration, and even though you have been down the road that long and you
- 21:30are trying to, you know, work on when you do get back on
- 21:36the outside, what you are doing for people that are incarcerated right now,
- 21:42it's nothing shy of amazing, and a lot of people would probably have a
- 21:48lot to say, but you're helping those people that have been wrong that have
- 21:56have holes in their cases that you know, just different things where they civil
- 22:04rights have been violated, where different things have happened on this journey. You
- 22:11have helped them to find these holes, these these cracks, these different things
- 22:17that may have been wrong that allowed these people to get these over sentences or
- 22:23in some cases you've helped individuals come home that were wrongfully incarcerated. Even in
- 22:30the midst of all that you are going through, how do you find it
- 22:34in your heart knowing that these people have wrongfully incarcerated you not only have they
- 22:41wrongfully incarcerated you. These people have gone on as far as took an attempt
- 22:45on your life. And we're calling for the investigation of his the death of
- 22:52his well, the the we we don't know what happened, but his prosecutor
- 23:00ended up dead, we believe, and and and there was no investigation done
- 23:07y'all to truly know what happened. And I know a lot of people could
- 23:18say it was suicide or they can say it was different things. But I
- 23:23find it very fishy. And Mr Drummer found it very fishy as well.
- 23:30I mean he was in calling for an investigation. But what you do for
- 23:37other people and helping other people come home because of the light that was shed
- 23:44on your case, Share about that so individuals can understand a little bit,
- 23:56you know. You know, I'm feeling out of prison and all I do
- 23:59is study legal work now. But this time coming down, man, I
- 24:03never realized, ma'am, that I was a victim of a real serious corruption
- 24:07and evidence sixtions candal and my prosecutor, she was the one who was running
- 24:11the evidence fixing scandal, and so happened the guy who was de justified for
- 24:15her. I father complained against this guy right in twenty sixteen. In twenty
- 24:21sixteen, on October, my prosecutor was found dead because she was coming to
- 24:25testify for me. Well, they claimed that it might have been suicide because
- 24:29she was suicidal. Man, well throwing up that man. I found it
- 24:33very suspicious that on the chimp was laid on my life very I mean from
- 24:37the you know, it was very suspicious. And I don't have nothing wrong
- 24:40with my body, no infection anything, but my body was feeling up with
- 24:45a large bucket of water, man which to cause my heart collapsing, my
- 24:49lun to collapse, my heart to collapse. But because of all this man
- 24:53my real live man, and this operation was way bigger than me. To
- 24:56what I did, ma'am. I took off the trouble around this investigation by
- 25:00asking for the Department of Justice, the MBI, the district betraying Officer,
- 25:06everybody to get involved into investigation because we got thousands and thousands of people fitting
- 25:11on death bow and wealthy competed it behind these operations. So here it is
- 25:17they will not investigate this. Why I have no ideas. So now when
- 25:21I'm trying to copround through a pretexting campaign, man, I'm trying to establish
- 25:25a putiful rally at every telling in the state of Texas in order to be
- 25:30able to address these city Ain't can they officials Aboutohols, this corruption that's going
- 25:34on in the state. I take the citizens and my congress lends and stay
- 25:38representative city like governing them. They can care less because we presented this backs
- 25:44to these people and they still have not responded us to whether or not they're
- 25:48conducting investigations. Now, this particular case that I have now can overturn thousands
- 25:53and thousands of cases, but they will investigated. So now I'm lot up
- 25:57a role again now for the third time. If I don't know if they're
- 26:00gonna give me paroles or not, ma'am, but you know if they do,
- 26:04they know what I'm coming to do. I'm coming to fight the system,
- 26:07ma'am, to bring all these people home if I can't. And thanks
- 26:11to you, ma'am, your voice has been heard. Man down here in
- 26:14the state of Texas. You was a household name down here. Andreela Thomas
- 26:18Smith, Yes, ma'am. The Cool podcast Yes Ma'am Free Texas campaign found
- 26:22you are a household name down here and they know who you are, and
- 26:26we'll appreciate you, ma'am for everything that you've done. You're killing us a
- 26:30voice down here, and thanks to you, ma'am. Guess what, I'm
- 26:33gonna continue on with the journey and make sure that I do everything my problem,
- 26:37ma'am to bring other people home, the kids on death road, the
- 26:41kids are serving for if he is flat, JUVEI low, everybody I can
- 26:45bring home, ma'am. I'm gonna do it. And thanks to you,
- 26:48ma'am. Will appreciate you very much. Wow. Well, I know currently
- 26:53right now we are trying to bring light to not just the parole board and
- 27:03the things that are happening amongst the parole board that is holding up a lot
- 27:07of these people and keeping these people from coming home. It's just laws that
- 27:12are on the book that these people are not upholding. You know, they're
- 27:18not upholding their laws. They put these laws in place and then they will
- 27:22not uphold them when it's time for them to uphold them. You know,
- 27:29half of the reason why a lot of these people are incarcerated is because of
- 27:33these laws that they've passed. And you look at the law party, you
- 27:38look at you look at these different bills that they have been fighting for the
- 27:45second Little Bill for the juvenals. But then I'm crying out to all all
- 27:48of the family members of these juveniles. If you were in the state of
- 27:52Texas, that you have a person that has been incarcerated since they were a
- 27:57juvenile, then I have I'm begging you, I'm pleaying with you to request
- 28:03their records, to ask for their records, because the courts have lost your
- 28:07loved one's records. They have destroyed your loved one's records. So therefore they
- 28:12have to provide. They have to get them back in court. They have
- 28:18to give them an opportunity to be heard again. And in some of these
- 28:23people's cases, we looking at individuals that have not done a little bit of
- 28:27time, y'all. Were not looking at individuals that have done five, ten,
- 28:33fifteen years. In most cases, these people have done twenty plus years.
- 28:37You're talking about twenty five, thirty, thirty five. I've even heard
- 28:41someone say that they've served forty years behind prison. Wall y'all, these people
- 28:48will not offend again. I know you hear people all the time say,
- 28:56well, they are a repeat offender. That's all they've done. It's been
- 29:02a lifelong criminal. That's not the case for a lot of these people.
- 29:06You look at you look at these people that have been incarcerated twenty five,
- 29:11thirty forty years. Look at how old these people are. Some of these
- 29:15people fifty sixty, seventy years old. Some of these people are in wheelchairs.
- 29:18Some of these people are walking with canes. Some of these people don't
- 29:21lost limbs. Some of these people are not even physically able to come back
- 29:25out here and do nothing else. Some of these people just want to come
- 29:29home because a lot of them have. They've lost loved ones while they've been
- 29:33incarcerated. I've heard individuals tell me that they've lost kids, they've lost their
- 29:40parents. A lot has happened while these people have been away from their family,
- 29:45and the majority of them wrongfully incarcerated, not because of crimes that they
- 29:55have committed, but for crimes that y'all have y'all have put on them and
