- 0:18Speaker 1: It is time to believe your worries outside and laugh
- 0:22Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:27Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharma and Jerry Well. Today is frad Day,
- 0:35Speaker 1: May third, two five. Welcome to the end of your
- 0:39Speaker 1: week right here inside the treehouse. Whether you've got a
- 0:42Speaker 1: good week or a bad week, it's about to get
- 0:45Speaker 1: just a little bit better because you're hanging out with us.
- 0:49Speaker 2: And we appreciate it.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Fifty six percent of people say it's totally cool to
- 1:00Speaker 1: use a coupon on a first date. Somebody queue up,
- 1:06Speaker 1: Admiral Akbar because I smell a trap. Fifty six percent
- 1:11Speaker 1: of people say it's totally fine to use a coupon
- 1:15Speaker 1: on a first date.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Man, in this economy, whatever you got to do.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Does anybody believe that?
- 1:22Speaker 4: Not a bit?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Would anyone do that? Not at all. My dad, my
- 1:29Speaker 2: dad would have done that. My dad was the guy
- 1:32Speaker 2: that used his Senior Citizens discount of Taco bell and
- 1:35Speaker 2: I can't make that up.
- 1:37Speaker 5: You can do that.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yes, you get either twenty percent off your bill or
- 1:44Speaker 2: a free small soda.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Oh, I know what Tray's doing for dinner.
- 1:53Speaker 6: My only way I believe that is if out of
- 1:56Speaker 6: one hundred people, fifty six were men.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Let's dig deeper and find out in a survey, fifty
- 2:04Speaker 1: six percent of people say it's totally acceptable to use
- 2:07Speaker 1: a coupon on a first date. They surveyed all ages,
- 2:13Speaker 1: and in fact, sixty one percent of the people they
- 2:16Speaker 1: surveyed said that frugality is an attractive trait in a partner,
- 2:20Speaker 1: Twenty eight percent went as far as to call it sexy,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and fifty six percent say they've been turned off by
- 2:26Speaker 1: a date trying to show off with money. So it
- 2:32Speaker 1: is interesting that they surveyed all ages of people and
- 2:37Speaker 1: found fifty six percent of them say it's fined us
- 2:40Speaker 1: a coupon on.
- 2:40Speaker 5: A first day. Where was this survey done Because it
- 2:43Speaker 5: was not done in Dallas.
- 2:44Speaker 2: No, Dallas, it was done in New Delhi, India. That's
- 2:49Speaker 2: what was done. And you can see from the results
- 2:52Speaker 2: everybody agrees.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I mean, you know, if they did the survey at Applebee's,
- 2:57Speaker 6: no offense, Applebee's, Yeah, okay, maybe I I but you
- 3:01Speaker 6: know it's I can't even think of if I've ever
- 3:04Speaker 6: been on a date somewhere, especially a first date, where
- 3:07Speaker 6: a coupon was a possibility there's also that.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Well, I guess you're not going to Arby's, are you?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Five dollars beef? Was it five for five?
- 3:20Speaker 7: You know?
- 3:21Speaker 5: I know?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember the five for five, two for her,
- 3:24Speaker 2: three for you.
- 3:24Speaker 6: That's that's why I weigh two hundred and thirty five pounds.
- 3:29Speaker 6: When I left the University of Texas, it was Arby's
- 3:33Speaker 6: five for five beef and cheddars.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I still remember the summer of ninety four, I.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Think it actually was was it wasn't ninety I remember
- 3:44Speaker 1: my first five for five Arby's. It was right after
- 3:49Speaker 1: I think I think it was the last day of
- 3:51Speaker 1: school eighth grade for me in Plano at Wilson Middle School.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Last day eighth grade, leaving campus after school went out
- 3:59Speaker 1: and went down the street to Custard and fifteenth to
- 4:02Speaker 1: the Arby's that was there, And it was me and
- 4:04Speaker 1: a few friends and we all just went crazy.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Five for five that included beef and cheddars and the
- 4:11Speaker 2: ham and Swiss, which I so of. Me and one
- 4:13Speaker 2: of my tiny brothers would go like at least twice
- 4:15Speaker 2: a week we'd get the five for five. He'd get
- 4:17Speaker 2: three roast beef and cheddar. I'd get the ham and cheddar.
- 4:21Speaker 2: That was that was my jam. So here's what I'm
- 4:23Speaker 2: hearing now.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I was only do we need to normalize coupons on
- 4:27Speaker 1: first dates? But first dates at Arby's?
- 4:30Speaker 6: Yes, Rose, were you getting the ham and cheddar because
- 4:33Speaker 6: at that time you were being more strict to the
- 4:35Speaker 6: Hindu principles.
- 4:36Speaker 2: No, I was eating beef. I just didn't like. I don't.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I'm not a big roast beef guy. Okay, So I
- 4:41Speaker 2: just didn't didn't care for it. But they had the
- 4:43Speaker 2: ham and Swiss and I could switch it with the
- 4:45Speaker 2: to the cheese sauce, the cheddar cheese sauce, and it
- 4:47Speaker 2: was delightful. And now they're getting sneaky with it. Right,
- 4:51Speaker 2: they're putting digital coupons so you can you can use
- 4:53Speaker 2: a coupon on the sly if you wanted to, Oh yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 2: through the app, so they won't even have to know,
- 5:01Speaker 2: Like when the bill comes, it's already taken off.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Right, if you're taking your date to Arby's. I think
- 5:06Speaker 5: they're gonna know.
- 5:09Speaker 2: If you're taking your first date to Arby's, you marry
- 5:12Speaker 2: that woman. She has the lowest expectations in life ever.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Speaking of which, Raj does the Hindu religion look down
- 5:22Speaker 1: on more negatively you for eating red meat or white women.

- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm Daniel Malley, He's Trade Trenholme. That's Raj Sharma, and
- 7:07Speaker 1: over there is mister Jerry called well, happy Friday to everybody.
- 7:12Speaker 1: As if saving money on first dates isn't already good enough,
- 7:16Speaker 1: We're now going to give you some other money saving tips.
- 7:19Speaker 1: What were your family vacations like as a kid. Were
- 7:23Speaker 1: they money saving endeavors or was it just balls to
- 7:28Speaker 1: the wall and spend all the cash if you got it.
- 7:33Speaker 2: We would every four years or so we would go
- 7:37Speaker 2: back to India for the summer because that's when you
- 7:39Speaker 2: want to go. Yeah, that's where I get the heat tolerance,
- 7:44Speaker 2: because you know, when you're chilling and it's one hundred
- 7:47Speaker 2: and eighteen degrees in the shade, you learn to when
- 7:50Speaker 2: you come back to Texas like it's a scorching one
- 7:53Speaker 2: on one, I'm like, this is this is chili. But
- 7:56Speaker 2: they would bring you. They would do like extravagant things
- 7:59Speaker 2: like we would go like we'd bring all our cousins
- 8:01Speaker 2: gifts and stuff like that, and then we would go
- 8:03Speaker 2: on like two different sight seeing parts of the country.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So we did that, and yeah, there were some like
- 8:08Speaker 2: we well, like I said, we went to Disneyland and
- 8:09Speaker 2: all that stuff and really didn't ride any rides.
- 8:12Speaker 1: You had you had any extravagant summer vacations, Yeah, tray,
- 8:16Speaker 1: what about you.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Did not have a lot of vacations. I can honestly.
- 8:22Speaker 6: It took two trips uh in my childhood, both to
- 8:27Speaker 6: uh Colorado.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I guess, I guess you're not counting the dangerous trips
- 8:34Speaker 1: to land Country Safari.
- 8:36Speaker 2: No, okay, we're in Colorado. Was it fun? Were you skiing? We?
- 8:41Speaker 5: No, it was in the summer.
- 8:42Speaker 6: It was in typically uh winter park and the uh,
- 8:49Speaker 6: the best thing about it was they had it was
- 8:51Speaker 6: called the Alpine Slide. It was like a summer you
- 8:55Speaker 6: could go up the ski slopes, but it was a.
- 9:01Speaker 5: I guess this is like a mini luge kind of thing.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Like you said. It was like on a plastic thing
- 9:06Speaker 5: and you just hit go and.
- 9:08Speaker 6: You it was good along like a water ride, but
- 9:11Speaker 6: down down, the mountain and uh, I mean it was fun.
- 9:14Speaker 1: So your family's idea of a summer vacation was to
- 9:17Speaker 1: take you to Colorado and throw you.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Down a mountain something like that.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Okay, just check Jerry. What about you extravagant or frugal
- 9:25Speaker 1: summer family vacations?
- 9:27Speaker 4: My family took fewer summer vacations than trays.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Got it all right? So wow, you we probably not
- 9:37Speaker 1: so much, Raj. But Trey, Jerry and myself grew up
- 9:42Speaker 1: with some frugal family vacations, so we probably have some
- 9:45Speaker 1: tips on how you can save some money on your
- 9:48Speaker 1: summer vacation coming up. Before we get to ours, let
- 9:51Speaker 1: me tell you what the experts say. If you're trying
- 9:54Speaker 1: to save money on your summer vacation this year, be
- 9:58Speaker 1: flexible with your dates. If you're locked into traveling on
- 10:01Speaker 1: July fourth weekend, it's going to be a lot more
- 10:03Speaker 1: expensive than if you, you know, went on June twenty eighth.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Okay. Also, try to.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Avoid flying on Sundays and Mondays. They see those are
- 10:10Speaker 1: expensive days. Number two, don't assume vacation rentals are cheapest.
- 10:14Speaker 1: There was a time where vacation rentals like airbnbs were
- 10:17Speaker 1: usually cheaper than a regular hotel, but that's not always
- 10:20Speaker 1: the case anymore. Check on the hotel rates as well.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Number three, don't stay in a specific city, stay in
- 10:27Speaker 1: the outskirts where it's cheaper. And number four, if you
- 10:31Speaker 1: have them, pay with credit card points, because that can
- 10:35Speaker 1: work in your favor and reduce the cost.
- 10:38Speaker 2: For me.
- 10:39Speaker 1: When it came to summer family trips, it was typical
- 10:43Speaker 1: for us to get in the nineteen seventy something Pontiac
- 10:47Speaker 1: station wagon that was green with the wood paneling.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Ah, the family truckster.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Yeah, we'd hop in the family truckster and my parents
- 10:56Speaker 1: would be in the front, my sister and I in
- 10:58Speaker 1: the back with the back seat folded down so it
- 10:59Speaker 1: was just one long bed in the back of that
- 11:02Speaker 1: station wagon. And we had a cooler full of snacks
- 11:05Speaker 1: and drinks. And we drove to great Grandma's house.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yay, And this is in Pittsburgh, Texas or something like that.
- 11:16Speaker 1: We would drive from Bartlesville, Oklahoma to sunny Pittsburgh, Texas
- 11:19Speaker 1: to see my racist great grandmother Glick.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Now that sounds like a vacation I would have loved.
- 11:29Speaker 1: It's also when I became That's also when I formed
- 11:32Speaker 1: my theory on vacation versus trip. Okay, yes, there's a
- 11:39Speaker 1: difference between a family trip and a family vacation, and
- 11:44Speaker 1: a trip is typically where you're going to see family
- 11:48Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff. A vacation is when
- 11:50Speaker 1: you get an escape from everybody and everything and you
- 11:52Speaker 1: actually get a chance to relax. Family vacations, to me,
- 11:55Speaker 1: aren't even real.
- 11:57Speaker 5: To me.
- 11:57Speaker 1: The ultimate money saving tip that I can give you
- 12:00Speaker 1: if you're trying to plan a summer vacation for the
- 12:02Speaker 1: family is don't make it a family vacation.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Leave the kids at home. I mean, I think that's
- 12:10Speaker 2: against the law, but depending on how old the kids are.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Depending on how old the kids are, and you know what,
- 12:16Speaker 1: drop them off at Grandma and Grandpa's house, let them
- 12:18Speaker 1: have fun, and then then you go enjoy a real
- 12:20Speaker 1: vacation away from anyone and everything, and you don't have
- 12:23Speaker 1: to worry about feeding them.
- 12:25Speaker 2: So using that logic, you would have been okay with
- 12:27Speaker 2: your parents dropping you off at great Grandma Glick's house
- 12:30Speaker 2: for a couple of weeks while they went and bast
- 12:33Speaker 2: in the sun and say the beach of California or
- 12:37Speaker 2: Saint John, where you are Saint Thomas.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I believe they did. And that's also the summer that
- 12:43Speaker 1: I got in trouble for throwing rocks at cars. Eat
- 12:47Speaker 1: you to leave me with these people, I will turn
- 12:51Speaker 1: into a vandal.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but you I mean there's fun family vacations
- 13:00Speaker 2: that you can do. I mean there's certain like Vegas
- 13:02Speaker 2: started like catering to that, Like you got the Circus
- 13:05Speaker 2: Circus where you could leave the kids like the I.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Think Vegas has already has.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Already gone through that stage and decided it was not
- 13:13Speaker 6: for them, and they have now reverted back to it's
- 13:16Speaker 6: more adults only.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's why rooms at Circus Circus are like
- 13:20Speaker 2: eleven dollars, Like you can that if you want to
- 13:23Speaker 2: be frugal and take a family vacation, like they're twenty
- 13:26Speaker 2: nine dollars.
- 13:27Speaker 5: But they imploded Circus Circus.
- 13:29Speaker 2: No, you wish they did. That's why I stay there.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Welcome to the new open air Circus Circus. I can
- 13:40Speaker 1: understand why why Las Vegas would pivot to trying to
- 13:43Speaker 1: be a family destination to compete for you know, tourism dollars.
- 13:48Speaker 1: But I thoroughly believe in pivoting back to focusing on adults,
- 13:53Speaker 1: because I don't think the daycare at the Cadillac Ranch
- 13:56Speaker 1: was anyone's favorite.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah, the fact that you thought there was one, like
- 14:05Speaker 2: that's scary. You just left him with a stranger.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Not a stranger, left him with cinnamon.
- 14:15Speaker 2: And that's what he changed his name to after they
- 14:17Speaker 2: found out what kind of a record he had. Yeah,
- 14:23Speaker 2: we would do fun stuff, like we would go to
- 14:25Speaker 2: like national monuments in India. We'd go to like, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 2: famous tourist attraction. I saw the taj Mahal when I
- 14:31Speaker 2: was a kid. So when I got older, like, I've
- 14:33Speaker 2: taken two of my exists to India and we went
- 14:36Speaker 2: to the taj Mahal and did all the tourist stuff
- 14:38Speaker 2: and all the sight seeing stuff. So I kind of
- 14:40Speaker 2: knew where to go.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Yah.
- 14:41Speaker 2: So that was kind of fun. And you can get
- 14:42Speaker 2: by on that stuff. There's there's kind of there's coupons
- 14:44Speaker 2: for that stuff too.
- 14:46Speaker 5: See.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I feel pretty blessed. I felt lucky in the fact
- 14:49Speaker 1: that as a child we had a lot of frugal
- 14:52Speaker 1: family summer vacations. That was just loading up the family
- 14:56Speaker 1: trucksture and going to Grandma's house. But we also so
- 15:00Speaker 1: a couple of times because it took years to save up.
- 15:02Speaker 1: A couple of times we actually went to Disney World.
- 15:05Speaker 1: And if you guys saw what the dad had to pay. Recently,
- 15:08Speaker 1: he went viral. This dad recorded everything that he paid
- 15:12Speaker 1: for in one single day at Disney World and it
- 15:15Speaker 1: came out to like fourteen hundred dollars one day. Yeah,
- 15:20Speaker 1: so anytime you can get some money saving tips on
- 15:23Speaker 1: a family trip, your ears should absolutely be open. But yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 1: I felt lucky that we had the boring family trips,
- 15:29Speaker 1: but then also a couple of times my parents saved
- 15:33Speaker 1: up and they took us to Disney World.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Made for a great special memory. Yeah, and if you
- 15:38Speaker 2: have somebody, if you have somebody that lives in Los Angeles,
- 15:40Speaker 2: they can get the resident deal where it's like twenty
- 15:43Speaker 2: nine dollars for the entire summer for Disney, Disneyland and
- 15:47Speaker 2: Universal Studios.
- 15:48Speaker 1: It also makes sense that Disney is opening up their
- 15:52Speaker 1: new park in Abu Dhabi because they're really about the
- 15:55Speaker 1: only country left that can afford it.
- 15:58Speaker 2: And you also want to be out there when it's
- 16:00Speaker 2: a sandstorm in one hundred and twenty five degrees yay'
- 16:05Speaker 2: that's the land of Fun.
- 16:07Speaker 1: God, you thought you thought August at six Flags was miserable.
- 16:14Speaker 2: In Abu Dabi, there's gonna be a disneylandic Like it's
- 16:18Speaker 2: gonna be like a stoning park. Yeah, li've your kids there.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I guess the Infidel.

- 17:13Speaker 1: Daniel Malley along with Trey Trent Home, Raj Sharma and
- 17:17Speaker 1: Jerry called.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Well, you're right, Raj, that.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Is one thing that the Abu Dhabi Disney theme park
- 17:23Speaker 1: will have that the others don't, which is sandstorms.
- 17:27Speaker 5: M H.
- 17:28Speaker 1: So exciting for the whole family.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Yeah. And they're and they're very they're very and they're
- 17:32Speaker 2: very brutal, like they they're no Joe like you can't
- 17:36Speaker 2: get rid of it. It's like going to the beach. Like
- 17:38Speaker 2: as as a person, like when you you always think like, well,
- 17:40Speaker 2: i'll take my shoes off, i won't get shoes and
- 17:42Speaker 2: I won't get sand in my shoes and book. It's
- 17:44Speaker 2: just everywhere. And that's just how it is as a country,
- 17:47Speaker 2: Like it just goes everywhere, cars, air conditioning units, places
- 17:51Speaker 2: you don't think of, Like you turn your ac on
- 17:54Speaker 2: and sand starts flying out. So yeah, they try to
- 17:57Speaker 2: do the the Summer Olympics, like Qatar through that. I
- 18:00Speaker 2: remember years ago, h Qatar through their name in the
- 18:03Speaker 2: in the ring and they're like no, like automatically they're
- 18:06Speaker 2: like but can we They're like no, it's one hundred
- 18:08Speaker 2: and twenty seven degrees during the summer. You want us
- 18:11Speaker 2: to do outdoor events like who's gonna win? You got's
- 18:15Speaker 2: go run.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Even we're not FIFA, we're.
- 18:23Speaker 5: We have we have a shred of ethics.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Be really bad as well.
- 18:28Speaker 1: You're trying to do the decathline, you pick up the
- 18:30Speaker 1: javelin and it's melted.
- 18:32Speaker 2: You're just trying to throw a limp piece of metal.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Just it's just gonna be the only summer Summer Olympics
- 18:39Speaker 2: where the only winners are people from there or Ethiopians,
- 18:42Speaker 2: like in the Long Distance Running the only person that
- 18:45Speaker 2: lived Steve Opian guy.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I just imagine the first brutal sandstorm at Abu
- 18:55Speaker 1: Dhabi Disney.
- 18:56Speaker 3: That's not gonna be fun for the whole family. Maybe
- 19:01Speaker 3: you could make it part of the advertising, you like, sayd.
- 19:06Speaker 5: It's a sandy world, there's nothing to that.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Maybe they've got it all figured out and we're the
- 19:16Speaker 1: dumb ones.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Like the Disneyland, the disney World or Disneyland here,
- 19:20Speaker 2: whichever one is in California. I never went because when
- 19:22Speaker 2: I found out they had a sixteen dollars chu ro,
- 19:25Speaker 2: I was like, I am if that's how much the
- 19:27Speaker 2: churo costs, I am out.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And now the turro is going to be at Abu
- 19:31Speaker 1: Dhabi Disney.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I can't even I can't even begin. But
- 19:35Speaker 2: like now they have bars like at Disneyland, like you
- 19:38Speaker 2: look for the adults, like you can go in and
- 19:39Speaker 2: get like Disney themed cocktails, Like it's really, yeah, it's
- 19:44Speaker 2: really really.
- 19:45Speaker 5: There's one of them.
- 19:47Speaker 6: I think it's Disneyland where they're not like because Walt
- 19:51Speaker 6: Disney prohibited them to sell alcohol on site. Disney World
- 19:55Speaker 6: I think they do okay in Florida. Yeah, the one
- 19:58Speaker 6: world in Disney World in Florida.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's the one that I think has like
- 20:02Speaker 2: the Disney feet.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they have all sorts of bars and yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 1: if the Disney park is going to serve alcohol, it's
- 20:08Speaker 1: absolutely going.
- 20:08Speaker 4: To be the one in Florida.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I think it's part of the requirement to get an
- 20:11Speaker 3: operating license in Florida.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I also think that's the reason why when we took
- 20:16Speaker 1: our summer vacations to Disney twice as a kid. I'm
- 20:19Speaker 1: pretty sure that's the reason why we went to Disney
- 20:21Speaker 1: World was because it sold alcohol. Because there's no way
- 20:24Speaker 1: my dad was going to go to a dry Disney.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I've seen the picture of like the guy who's got
- 20:31Speaker 2: the like the the goofy outfit, like he's behind like
- 20:35Speaker 2: whatever area that they have as far as getting dressed
- 20:39Speaker 2: as far as the characters, and he's just got his
- 20:41Speaker 2: head the head off and he's got it under his army,
- 20:43Speaker 2: just smoking a cigarette. And I'm like, oh, that sums
- 20:46Speaker 2: up Florida.
- 20:49Speaker 1: It also sums up working for Disney.
- 20:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah, what if he would have had like a high
- 20:53Speaker 2: life in one hand and a cigarette and the other
- 20:55Speaker 2: like the Goofy head on the floor. I'm like, yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 2: you send me. That's that's where that is. You can
- 21:01Speaker 2: say Orlando all you want, but you're not Orlando.
- 21:04Speaker 1: The thing is, though, he would have earned that smoke
- 21:08Speaker 1: and that beer, because I can't fathom. Look, I remember
- 21:12Speaker 1: when I was five and eight going to Disney World
- 21:14Speaker 1: in Florida and it was miserably hot. Yes, and I
- 21:19Speaker 1: cannot fathom being one of those characters in costume all
- 21:23Speaker 1: freaking day.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that has to be miserable.
- 21:27Speaker 3: So they do take shifts. I had a friend who
- 21:33Speaker 3: was one of the what do they call them imagineers,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I don't know. Anyway, he played Goofy and he said
- 21:42Speaker 3: that when it got really really hot outside, they would
- 21:44Speaker 3: have very short shifts. They'd have a couple of people
- 21:46Speaker 3: and then rotate in and out, you know, every hour
- 21:49Speaker 3: or so.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Can you imagine you want his family seeing Goofy pass
- 21:54Speaker 1: out and die in front of Cinderella's castle? And what
- 21:59Speaker 1: have we learned today? And gentlemen, boys and girls, heat stroke? Yo,
- 22:06Speaker 1: that's blood just running down his nose.
- 22:11Speaker 2: All right, kids, we got to learn about life and
- 22:13Speaker 2: death today At Disney who wants to try out the
- 22:18Speaker 2: new CPR tent.
- 22:21Speaker 5: This sad day at Disney.
- 22:22Speaker 2: We had to put down goofy.
- 22:25Speaker 1: And you.

- 23:26Speaker 1: This is the Treehouse Show. I'm Dan, He's Trade. That's Roger.
- 23:29Speaker 1: There is Jerry, speaking of fun summer vacations. I don't
- 23:34Speaker 1: know if you can find anyone that had more fun
- 23:37Speaker 1: last week than this guy. A personal injury attorney, was
- 23:41Speaker 1: arrested last week after police say he was downtown yelling
- 23:44Speaker 1: at the top of his lungs without any clothes on.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Is anyone else hoping this was Jim Adler or is
- 23:51Speaker 1: it just me?
- 23:52Speaker 2: I was gonna say he was waving around the Texas Hammer.
- 24:01Speaker 1: That's the first thing I thought of, Man, I was like, oh,
- 24:03Speaker 1: please tell me that Jim Adler went on vacation. This
- 24:10Speaker 1: happened in Charleston, South Carolina. It was not Jim Adler. Instead,
- 24:16Speaker 1: it was William Mullins McLeod Junior. He is a Charleston
- 24:20Speaker 1: personal injury attorney. He was arrested after police say he
- 24:23Speaker 1: was downtown yelling at the top of his lungs without
- 24:26Speaker 1: any clothes on. He was charged with public disorderly conduct
- 24:29Speaker 1: and booked at the Al Canada Tention Center early in
- 24:33Speaker 1: the morning. An incident report from Charleston Police states an
- 24:36Speaker 1: officer was in the area when they observed McLeod walking
- 24:40Speaker 1: along the battery screaming Wednesday morning. He was wearing only
- 24:44Speaker 1: his underwear and shoes during the incident. They confronted him
- 24:47Speaker 1: and began and he began rambling incoherently. I'm still not
- 24:51Speaker 1: so sure this is not Jim Adler. Half the time,
- 24:53Speaker 1: you can't understand what he's saying. Anyway, but you also have.
- 24:57Speaker 2: To realize, like he was just an underwear and shoes.
- 24:59Speaker 2: That means he took his shoes off to take his
- 25:01Speaker 2: pants off and then put his shoes back on.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I understand that I too have to maybe wherever he was,
- 25:09Speaker 1: that's just all he put on. He just reached over
- 25:13Speaker 1: and grabbed his shoes.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And yeah, you know, maybe he lives in one of
- 25:17Speaker 2: the high rises there, and was like, you know what,
- 25:19Speaker 2: I am hammered. I am I'm the Texas Hammered and
- 25:26Speaker 2: I have to go for a walk right now and
- 25:28Speaker 2: I need to scream and I can't do that in
- 25:32Speaker 2: my house. I'm Madler. Oh I got so drunk. I
- 25:37Speaker 2: run out of my hotel wearing.
- 25:39Speaker 12: Nothing but shoes and Monties. Now you know why they
- 25:43Speaker 12: call made the Texas Hammer. I was actually on the
- 25:48Speaker 12: run from a big truck. They saw me naked on
- 25:54Speaker 12: top of a big truck and they said get off,
- 25:56Speaker 12: and I said, I'm trying.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I'm Jim Adler.
- 26:01Speaker 12: Have you ever been hitting the head by a helicopter
- 26:07Speaker 12: or is it just my wen He's swinging round and
- 26:09Speaker 12: round from the top of this truck.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Hit in the head by a helicopter. Okay, have you
- 26:21Speaker 2: ever been hitting the head but my hammer call me
- 26:26Speaker 2: Jim Adler.
- 26:27Speaker 12: I'll get you fifty million dollars in your pocket. Speaking
- 26:32Speaker 12: of pockets, can I have your pants? I seem to
- 26:37Speaker 12: have misplaced mine.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Do you make fun of your son Bill and call
- 26:44Speaker 5: him the ball peen hammer? How'd you know his nickname?
- 26:52Speaker 12: That's exactly what I call my boy. He's the ball
- 26:55Speaker 12: peen hammer. It's just tiny and stupid. No one knows
- 27:02Speaker 12: what to do with it, just like a bob peen hammer.
- 27:05Speaker 12: That's my bullet. He can't get his own job. He's
- 27:08Speaker 12: got to be on the truck with me.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Moron. I feared he would be a rubber mallet.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Uh, he's got that little round head.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Yeah, with the helmet. So he's a lawyer and slow.
- 27:34Speaker 12: No, it's because every time he shoot one of these
- 27:36Speaker 12: commercials on top of a truck, he keeps falling off.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Takes like a hundred takes.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Every time he's fallen off one hundred times. I don't
- 27:48Speaker 2: want him representing me.
- 27:52Speaker 12: It's more of a make a wish attorney at this point.
- 27:58Speaker 12: He's never lead counsel, just more bestial counsel.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And for those wondering, this is the day the tree
- 28:09Speaker 1: House got sued by the family.
- 28:17Speaker 7: You're in the Treehouse.

- 29:07Speaker 2: This is The Treehouse Show.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I'm Dan ol Maley along with Trade Trenholm, Raj Sharma
- 29:11Speaker 1: and Jerry called Well. Today is Friday, May twenty third,
- 29:19Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate today. What's some birthdays? Turning
- 29:23Speaker 1: thirty nine today? The director of the Black Panther movies
- 29:28Speaker 1: and Creed and the new box office sensation Sinners starring
- 29:33Speaker 1: Michael b Anthony Ryan Kugler. Ryan Cougler turns thirty nine
- 29:38Speaker 1: to day. Good for him. Lane Garrison turns forty five today.
- 29:43Speaker 1: He played Tweener on prison Break. I've never watched prison Break,
- 29:48Speaker 1: but with a character name like tweener. I have questions
- 29:51Speaker 1: about that show.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Okay, I think it takes place in New Orleans. Uh
- 30:01Speaker 2: and oh was it filmed here?
- 30:04Speaker 9: Oh?
- 30:04Speaker 2: I thought I was filming in New Orleans anyway, tweener, is.
- 30:09Speaker 5: That you you won know what happened to your imaginary friend.
- 30:16Speaker 1: My imaginary friend as a child, little Timmy John.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Timmy John became tweener. I'm right.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Actually he always did have a little bit of a
- 30:27Speaker 1: wild streak. Other birthdays today, Kelly Monico turns forty nine.
- 30:34Speaker 1: She is the former soap opera star or maybe current
- 30:37Speaker 1: I don't know. I never watched it. She won the
- 30:39Speaker 1: first Dancing with the Stars. Kelly Monico turns forty nine.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Jewel used to live in her van, then became a
- 30:46Speaker 1: really popular singer. She is fifty one today. Is she
- 30:50Speaker 1: still with Kevin Costner?
- 30:54Speaker 2: No? Married to a bull?
- 30:58Speaker 5: Yeah, cowboy Tye something I think it was.
- 31:02Speaker 6: And they lived outside, like in Weatherford somewhere around there Stephenville.
- 31:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Does Kevin Costner know?
- 31:10Speaker 5: I didn't. I don't remember her ever being linked with Costner.
- 31:13Speaker 5: I thought so she hooked up with i' murray yah.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Iy Murray, that's right, Seawan Penn before that I know
- 31:22Speaker 2: she was with Sean Penn for if she's.
- 31:24Speaker 6: Still with Ty Murray. They've been together for twenty something years.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Yeah, twenty fourteen.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that lasted six years, which is an eternity in Hollywood.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Well, no, they lived in Stephenville, Texas, which is a lifetime.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Six years is a lifetime in Stephenville. And all you
- 31:43Speaker 2: have to look forward to is a Tarlton State University
- 31:45Speaker 2: bull riding. I mean they have a bull writing team.
- 31:47Speaker 4: So good for them.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's a it's a very small town.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Just imagine if their bull writing team ever linked up
- 31:55Speaker 1: with the Ranger ats.
- 32:02Speaker 2: You know, that's just a visual. I can't explain, and
- 32:05Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 32:06Speaker 1: You shouldn't just let your imagination run wild and enjoy it.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Jewel. She is fifty one today. Ken Jennings,
- 32:14Speaker 1: Jeopardy host who once won seventy four straight episodes totally
- 32:18Speaker 1: more than two and a half million dollars. He is
- 32:20Speaker 1: fifty one today. That's really impressive streak. And I will say,
- 32:25Speaker 1: when you win seventy four straight Jeopardy contests, it sounds
- 32:29Speaker 1: like a low number to only walk away with two
- 32:31Speaker 1: and a half million winnings, but he became the.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Host, Like, I think that's the like when you win
- 32:38Speaker 2: seventy four episodes and you don't like. That's the thing
- 32:40Speaker 2: about Alex Trebek that I didn't I never liked is
- 32:44Speaker 2: he had the answers in front of him, so when
- 32:46Speaker 2: you got it wrong, he was like, oh, you're an idiot. Yeah.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Ken Jennings got it seventy four episodes straight without cards,
- 32:53Speaker 2: and I'm like, at that point, after seventy four, they're like,
- 32:55Speaker 2: can we make him the host? He knows everything, like,
- 32:58Speaker 2: there's nothing this guy a note and then Alex conveniently died.
- 33:05Speaker 5: Think about it because I just did.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Yeah, that average is like thirty three thousand an episode
- 33:11Speaker 6: when you're betting one hundred, you know, first round one
- 33:13Speaker 6: hundred to five hundred and the second round two hundred
- 33:15Speaker 6: to one thousand, and then your double Jeopardy and stuff
- 33:18Speaker 6: like that.
- 33:18Speaker 5: That's actually, yeah, it's pretty solid.
- 33:21Speaker 1: It's not about what I'm saying is Jeopardies winnings should
- 33:26Speaker 1: correlate to the cost of living. It seems like the
- 33:30Speaker 1: numbers have been the same for a really long time
- 33:32Speaker 1: and they need to increase.
- 33:34Speaker 2: We're old enough to remember when we will Fortune had
- 33:37Speaker 2: like the little gift shop, like where you could have
- 33:39Speaker 2: the money you made. You could go through and.
- 33:41Speaker 4: You were purchasing.
- 33:42Speaker 2: You just bought stuff. I like that vacuum. Yeah, I
- 33:46Speaker 2: like that blender. Every single episode, I don't know why,
- 33:49Speaker 2: but every single episode, somebody got that ceramic Dalmatian. I
- 33:53Speaker 2: don't know what was going on in the eighties, but
- 33:56Speaker 2: every single time, like, you have two hundred and fifty
- 33:58Speaker 2: dollars left, what would you like to spend it on.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I'll take the ceramic Dalmatian.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure they were forced to because all those
- 34:06Speaker 1: game shows would always have the disclaimers at the end
- 34:08Speaker 1: of the show saying promotional consideration provided by and it's
- 34:11Speaker 1: all these companies that sent them the products to be
- 34:14Speaker 1: on the show to then be given away, which means
- 34:17Speaker 1: they probably got like five hundred of these stupid ceramic Dalmatians,
- 34:21Speaker 1: or like everyone's got to get one.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yeah. And I was working ages ago at the laugh
- 34:26Speaker 2: after and True Carry popped in and he did a
- 34:27Speaker 2: whole thing on the prices right, and he's like, the
- 34:29Speaker 2: price is right, will bankrupt you. I think we talked
- 34:31Speaker 2: about this is like if you win a hot tub.
- 34:33Speaker 2: They don't install it. They just drop it off in
- 34:35Speaker 2: your yard. So if you live in an apartment complex,
- 34:39Speaker 2: good luck.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Look thank You also have to pay the gift tax
- 34:42Speaker 4: on it too, you do.
- 34:42Speaker 2: It's very true.
- 34:43Speaker 1: We actually had There was a girl that we worked
- 34:45Speaker 1: with at iHeartRadio in Dallas years ago, and she had
- 34:50Speaker 1: won her showcase Showdown on the Prizes right or Wheel
- 34:55Speaker 1: of Fortune. I can't remember which one it was, but
- 34:57Speaker 1: she won the game show and she was stuck with
- 35:00Speaker 1: They gave you the option, you can take the prizes
- 35:03Speaker 1: or the cash value. She's wisely took cash value option,
- 35:07Speaker 1: but still had to pay out the ass on taxes
- 35:09Speaker 1: for it.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Can you imagine like you just won the prices?
- 35:12Speaker 5: Right?
- 35:12Speaker 2: You owe us eleven thousand dollars?
- 35:16Speaker 1: I thought you said I won, Well you did. Can
- 35:20Speaker 1: I can I play Plinkoh to pay back the I
- 35:26Speaker 1: R s.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I'll do the yodeling with the guy that's going up
- 35:29Speaker 2: the mountain?
- 35:30Speaker 10: Uh?
- 35:33Speaker 2: Can I just can I pay it? Like? Instead of
- 35:35Speaker 2: paying all of it?
- 35:36Speaker 1: Can I just work it off or agree to pay
- 35:38Speaker 1: wherever the Plinko chip lands.
- 35:40Speaker 2: That's where the Barker's Beauties came from. They weren't they
- 35:42Speaker 2: weren't models. They were just indentured servants. But I think
- 35:48Speaker 2: they were with Bob.
- 35:52Speaker 5: You know their job.
- 35:57Speaker 10: You're listening to the tree House. Visit is online at

- 37:05Speaker 2: I love when it's bring Daisy to work day. Hi.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Oh, yes, trays chihuah but always, you know, it's always
- 37:12Speaker 1: a special day when Daisy makes an appearance inside the Treehouse.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I recommend more, Daisy. I recommend more bring your dog
- 37:21Speaker 1: to work.
- 37:21Speaker 5: Day here in the studio. All right, we can make
- 37:23Speaker 5: that happen. Yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I don't know if you'd have much of a choice,
- 37:27Speaker 1: because if you tried leaving her, she will just wrap
- 37:29Speaker 1: her tongue around your leg and she'll just be brought
- 37:33Speaker 1: in toe. She might be actually like if you could
- 37:40Speaker 1: do because you know that they'll do boxing pound for pound,
- 37:43Speaker 1: best fighter in the world, might be like a welterweight
- 37:45Speaker 1: versus a super heavyweight, you know, like with Gene Simmons
- 37:49Speaker 1: from Kiss, such a freakishly long tongue inch for inch
- 37:54Speaker 1: pales in comparison to Daisy. The chuaa is tongue.
- 37:57Speaker 4: M just saying it's not a roller. Butt just unravels
- 38:05Speaker 4: comes out.
- 38:06Speaker 1: You have me a roller.
- 38:07Speaker 3: But the butt thing was yeah, it's long, it's all
- 38:10Speaker 3: the way back and just okay, never mind.
- 38:11Speaker 4: The position is not important.
- 38:13Speaker 2: No, I think it was very important. I think I
- 38:17Speaker 2: think we need to analyze this more seriously disturbing.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I think, Jerry, I think you need to go see
- 38:23Speaker 1: Cookie Monster. He's the new therapist, so you can work
- 38:27Speaker 1: through some of these issues.
- 38:29Speaker 2: The official therapist of the tree.
- 38:30Speaker 1: That's right, mons, Can you think of one more fitting?
- 38:36Speaker 5: No?
- 38:36Speaker 2: No, all right?
- 38:38Speaker 1: Speaking of things that are fitting, Earlier, we talked about
- 38:42Speaker 1: a naked attorney having way too much fun in Charleston,
- 38:46Speaker 1: South Carolina, So let's stay with the naked theme.
- 38:51Speaker 2: With this.
- 38:54Speaker 1: You've probably done karaoke before, but have you done it naked?
- 38:58Speaker 2: Jerry?
- 38:59Speaker 1: I know that you're gonna say yes. I just know
- 39:01Speaker 1: it in my heart because not only do you love karaoke,
- 39:05Speaker 1: I can absolutely imagine you, even though I don't want to.
- 39:09Speaker 4: Doing it naked anytime, anytime I can.
- 39:12Speaker 1: What's the song that's your go to for karaoke?
- 39:17Speaker 4: Well, I have a couple. Lion Sleeps Tonight.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Imagine Lion Sleeps Tonight naked Jerry on stage. Now stop
- 39:29Speaker 1: it for your own benefit. Otherwise Cookie Monsters schedule is
- 39:33Speaker 1: gonna get real full, real fast. Naked karaoke is now
- 39:38Speaker 1: a thing. A community, a naturist community have released their
- 39:46Speaker 1: program of summer events. Located just a twenty minute walk
- 39:49Speaker 1: from a train station in Liverpool, is Mayor's Side's only
- 39:55Speaker 1: naturist community and they are now offering naked karaoke inside
- 40:00Speaker 1: the camp site. Forty chalets, twenty static caravans. These are
- 40:04Speaker 1: home to naturists who travel far and wide. Please don't
- 40:07Speaker 1: say far and wide when referring to to be with
- 40:13Speaker 1: like minded people from the same community. They spend their
- 40:16Speaker 1: time with each other and enjoying the swimming pool tennis courts,
- 40:20Speaker 1: often all well naked well. They have a three visit
- 40:24Speaker 1: strip rule where if you have visited a handful of
- 40:26Speaker 1: times and have yet to take off your clothes, you
- 40:29Speaker 1: are not able to return as you aren't likely a naturist.
- 40:32Speaker 1: So a very very firm rule on being naked at
- 40:36Speaker 1: their campground here and you can do naked karaoke there
- 40:40Speaker 1: if you so choose. Wow, as if karaoke wasn't bad enough,
- 40:47Speaker 1: As if it wasn't bad enough that your ears got
- 40:50Speaker 1: a bleed.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and coming up with a song, and that's the
- 40:55Speaker 2: wrong place to think long and hard.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I can imagine naked karaoke. I can imagine naked karaoke
- 41:04Speaker 1: getting really weird, really fast, depending on the song choice.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yeah, naked karaoke. Okay, what will you white people think
- 41:14Speaker 2: of next?
- 41:16Speaker 3: Singing raspberry or beret in just a raspberry bere.
- 41:22Speaker 2: I think you're violating the rules there, buddy, I will say,
- 41:27Speaker 2: right said, Fred will probably have a resurgence. Yeah, you
- 41:31Speaker 2: can strip to that one. That'll that'll probably get you.
- 41:35Speaker 4: You can strip just about any song, okay a little.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Yeah the vinyls oh I touched myself. There you go.
- 41:51Speaker 2: I'm done today.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I've had enough Treehouse for today to go now.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Oh I didn't even know that was the name of
- 42:00Speaker 2: the song.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she didn't exactually hide it.
- 42:04Speaker 2: No, I was just doing that. She was just doing
- 42:09Speaker 2: that in the studio and they just hit record biggest
- 42:12Speaker 2: hit ever.
- 42:15Speaker 1: For all things Treehouse, go to Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 42:18Speaker 1: You can also find and follow us on social media
- 42:21Speaker 1: for the show at Treehouse on Air. For me, it's
- 42:23Speaker 1: at the Daniel Mallley For Trey. It's at Trey, Trendholm
- 42:26Speaker 1: one and Farage at Comedian Rage for Jerry at that
- 42:29Speaker 1: Jerry Guy. We'll see you back here on Monday inside
- 42:33Speaker 1: the Treehouse.
