Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 1: ICE agents at airports.
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven tor Boy.
- 0:03Speaker 2: The Mark Simung Show starts. Now, Hey, it's I know
- 0:09Speaker 2: it's been a little rain. It's about to stop. It's Monday.
- 0:12Speaker 2: We got a lot to get to. We'll get to
- 0:13Speaker 2: the latest on Iran, big developments there, We'll get to
- 0:18Speaker 2: the TSA. We'll get to lots of stuff to get
- 0:21Speaker 2: to today, we'll get to the Bachelorette and Robert Muller
- 0:25Speaker 2: and more so. LaGuardia Airport remains closed after that horrible
- 0:29Speaker 2: crash that took place late last night. A truck is
- 0:33Speaker 2: on the runway and collides with a plane. Now, when
- 0:38Speaker 2: you're when you're a big, big truck out there on
- 0:42Speaker 2: the runway, you're under the control of the air traffic controllers.
- 0:45Speaker 2: They don't just control the planes, that can control anything
- 0:48Speaker 2: that comes on the runway, and an air traffic controller.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Somebody screwed up something there and you can hear the
- 0:55Speaker 2: air traffic controllers screaming at the truck to stop, but
- 0:59Speaker 2: it was too late. Plane hit it and the front
- 1:01Speaker 2: of the plane completely crumbled, killing two pilots. Forty one
- 1:06Speaker 2: people were hospitalized on the plane as the plane just massive,
- 1:12Speaker 2: massive shaking and crashing and stewardess goes through the window.
- 1:16Speaker 2: It's you know when they tell you when you land
- 1:19Speaker 2: on the runway and you're taxiing, they tell you to
- 1:21Speaker 2: please remain seated and keep your seat belt on. That's
- 1:24Speaker 2: why something like this could happen. That's why you keep
- 1:27Speaker 2: your seat belt on until you get to the gates.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So the interesting thing is this big Air Canada plane
- 1:35Speaker 2: hits the truck. The truck is absolutely fine. Front of
- 1:39Speaker 2: the plane completely crumbled. Now, the planes are made of
- 1:43Speaker 2: a flimsy or aluminum, whereas the truck is heavy steel.
- 1:47Speaker 2: The plane is made to be very very light to
- 1:50Speaker 2: fly in the air, so it's very thin. It's kind
- 1:53Speaker 2: of frightening when you see how quickly that whole front crumbled. Well,
- 1:56Speaker 2: the truck was just fine. But they're attempting to clean
- 2:00Speaker 2: this up. It's going to be a while. The airport
- 2:02Speaker 2: will not open until at least two o'clock, so figure
- 2:06Speaker 2: five o'clock. The National Transportation Safety Board is there investigating
- 2:11Speaker 2: the crash. This will be a while. So all flights
- 2:15Speaker 2: canceled at LaGuardia. If you were supposed to leave or
- 2:17Speaker 2: come back today. All flights canceled at LaGuardia, and when
- 2:20Speaker 2: they do reopen late in the afternoon, it's going to
- 2:24Speaker 2: be a snarled up mess and that will continue probably
- 2:28Speaker 2: for forty eight hours until they get that straightened out.
- 2:30Speaker 2: That massive delays and back up and all of that.
- 2:34Speaker 2: So when they do get the airport reopen, you got
- 2:37Speaker 2: the original problem, which is the TSA, many of them
- 2:41Speaker 2: not showing up, many of them calling in sick, they
- 2:43Speaker 2: haven't been paid in weeks, the TSA agents overwhelmed. Yesterday
- 2:49Speaker 2: you had reports of delays at airports all over the
- 2:52Speaker 2: place of up to four hours, people missing their planes
- 2:56Speaker 2: from being in a security line for four hours. Now,
- 2:59Speaker 2: believe it or not, there there some airports, about twenty
- 3:01Speaker 2: two of them around the country that are not suffering
- 3:04Speaker 2: in this problem. And that's because long ago they decided
- 3:07Speaker 2: to contract out to private security instead of relying on
- 3:12Speaker 2: the TSA. Their private security contracts are all fine, everybody's
- 3:15Speaker 2: getting paid. So there are a bunch of airports, about
- 3:19Speaker 2: twenty two of them around the country with no problem
- 3:23Speaker 2: at all. So here's what's going to happen. The TSA
- 3:27Speaker 2: will be in the airports they've started coming in today,
- 3:31Speaker 2: but there will be more coming in. This is Transportation
- 3:34Speaker 2: Secretaryduffie Boddy.
- 3:35Speaker 3: That's when the next paycheck should come. And if this
- 3:39Speaker 3: homeland security funding isn't resolved, I think you're going to
- 3:42Speaker 3: see more TSA agents as we come to Thursday, Friday,
- 3:44Speaker 3: Saturday of next week. They're going to quit or they're
- 3:47Speaker 3: not gonna show.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Up, But more ICE agents are on the way.
- 3:50Speaker 3: We can bring in other assets and tools to assist
- 3:53Speaker 3: TSA to get rid of these lines.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I think that makes a lot of sense. And the
- 3:56Speaker 3: President's looking around every corner to make sure the American
- 3:59Speaker 3: people don't sing the shutdown.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, one thing about the ICE agents. You might
- 4:04Speaker 2: say that's kind of peculiar to send them into the
- 4:05Speaker 2: air well. Actually, most ICE agents the normal job of
- 4:09Speaker 2: ICE is the Southern border and they do check people,
- 4:13Speaker 2: security checks on people coming in over the border. They
- 4:16Speaker 2: do inspect them, frisk them. They're not up to date
- 4:20Speaker 2: on the X ray machines used in the airports, but
- 4:24Speaker 2: that's not a problem. ICE agents will do everything else,
- 4:27Speaker 2: but they're used to doing the baggage checks, pat downs,
- 4:30Speaker 2: checking people. They do it all the time. Now, the
- 4:36Speaker 2: plan today is when the ICE agents come in the
- 4:39Speaker 2: TSA will still do the actual inspection at the X
- 4:43Speaker 2: ray machine at the conveyor belt, but ICE will take
- 4:45Speaker 2: over all the other jobs besides the actual inspecting of
- 4:49Speaker 2: the passengers. The TSA agents have to be all over
- 4:52Speaker 2: the airport, checking the gates in, blocking the gates out,
- 4:55Speaker 2: checking the line. So ICE will take over that, which
- 4:59Speaker 2: will free up a lot lot of TSA and that'll help.
- 5:02Speaker 2: And then they'll gradually get trained on the X ray
- 5:05Speaker 2: machines and they can eventually take over the whole thing.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And it might be a good idea to just make
- 5:10Speaker 2: that permanent. Let the ICE agents do it. They're very
- 5:13Speaker 2: good at it. It's the other thing that it accomplishes.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's a great way to troll Democrats. It's a great
- 5:19Speaker 2: way to troll people like Chuck Schumer. They hate ICE,
- 5:22Speaker 2: they hate ICE agents, they hate any illegal actually being
- 5:26Speaker 2: caught and deported. Trump truthing out over the weekend, if
- 5:32Speaker 2: the radical left Democrats don't immediately sign an agreement to
- 5:35Speaker 2: let our country, in particular our airports be free and
- 5:38Speaker 2: safe again, I will move our brilliant and patriotic ICE
- 5:42Speaker 2: agents to the airport. Now this is the part trolling
- 5:44Speaker 2: the Democrats. He added, the ICE agents, but also beef
- 5:48Speaker 2: up security against illegal immigrants, heavy emphasis on those from
- 5:51Speaker 2: Somalia who have totally destroyed with the approval of a
- 5:56Speaker 2: corrupt governor, attorney general and Congresswoman Elon Omar. It's a
- 6:00Speaker 2: once great state of Minnesota. So it's driving the left nuts.
- 6:04Speaker 2: ICE agents in the airport. Now, it's important to get
- 6:08Speaker 2: this whole thing settled. And you might say, well, I'll
- 6:12Speaker 2: give the Democrats credit for once Congress stayed in session
- 6:16Speaker 2: over the weekend, they remained in Washington and didn't go home. Well,
- 6:20Speaker 2: if you talk to these congressmen, the real reason they
- 6:23Speaker 2: did that. They didn't want to go home because they
- 6:25Speaker 2: knew it was a nightmare at the airports. They knew
- 6:28Speaker 2: they'd be stuck in these lines for three or four hours,
- 6:32Speaker 2: or they can get past the lines, they can avoid
- 6:35Speaker 2: the lines and be escorted right through. They either have
- 6:38Speaker 2: to be stuck in the lines for three or four
- 6:40Speaker 2: hours or being seen being escorted past the line. And
- 6:44Speaker 2: they didn't want to go through that, so they they
- 6:48Speaker 2: decided to stay in Washington all week and we'll see
- 6:50Speaker 2: if this gets settled. Iran the president over the weekend,
- 6:56Speaker 2: saying Iran has forty eight hours or he will blit
- 7:00Speaker 2: rate their biggest power plants. There's a number of power sources,
- 7:04Speaker 2: but there's one major power plant that cost a lot
- 7:07Speaker 2: of money ten billion to build it. You knock that out,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you pretty much cripple the electric grid of Iran. So
- 7:15Speaker 2: he threatened to do that. Now this morning, the present
- 7:17Speaker 2: tweeting out that the talks with Iran and there are
- 7:20Speaker 2: talks on two levels, government to government and then there's
- 7:23Speaker 2: back channel talks with the opposition leaders and resistance. But
- 7:29Speaker 2: he said things have gone well with those talks, there
- 7:31Speaker 2: is progress. He will give them five days to get
- 7:34Speaker 2: something done in the talks. That's a pretty good deal.
- 7:37Speaker 2: That's calmed things down a lot. Stock market up about
- 7:41Speaker 2: a thousand points already. Iran putting out a statement saying
- 7:47Speaker 2: they're having no talks at all, which means they're having talks.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Anytime Iran puts out a statement, just reverse it and
- 7:53Speaker 2: you probably got the real story. Over the weekend, Iran
- 7:59Speaker 2: for the first time launched ballistic missiles that they've never
- 8:02Speaker 2: used before that can go about twenty five hundred miles
- 8:06Speaker 2: twenty five hundred miles. It was never thought that Iran
- 8:08Speaker 2: would have that kind of range. But they launched a
- 8:11Speaker 2: couple of those missiles aiming at the Diego Garcia Military Base,
- 8:16Speaker 2: which is it's a joint base the United States and Britain.
- 8:19Speaker 2: It's in the Indian Ocean's about two thousand miles away. Now,
- 8:22Speaker 2: the good news is Iran with these long range ballistic
- 8:25Speaker 2: missiles not very competent. One failed, the other one was
- 8:29Speaker 2: shot down. But the problem is with the twenty five
- 8:32Speaker 2: one hundred mile range, Well, that means Iran can hit
- 8:38Speaker 2: with their missiles, can hit London, Paris Rome. It puts
- 8:42Speaker 2: Europe in great jeopardy. That's another reason Europe should get
- 8:46Speaker 2: in and try to get get this settled. Same thing
- 8:50Speaker 2: with the Straits of horm Moose. We don't get oil
- 8:51Speaker 2: out of the Straits of horror Moose. We really don't
- 8:54Speaker 2: need it. It's Europe. Europe gets all their oil out
- 8:57Speaker 2: of the Straits of Hermose. We actually get maybe about
- 8:59Speaker 2: one and a half percent, that's it, and we don't
- 9:02Speaker 2: need any oil. We're totally oil independent. We can get by.
- 9:06Speaker 2: We're actually not only totally independent, we're on the way
- 9:09Speaker 2: to becoming energy dominant. We're actually an exporter now of oil.
- 9:14Speaker 2: There are countries that are now joining the US helping
- 9:17Speaker 2: to contribute twenty two of them so far. Latest to
- 9:21Speaker 2: join Australia, the UAE. We've already got UK, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands,
- 9:27Speaker 2: Japan all helping to open up the Straits of Hormus.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So that's the good news.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Now.
- 9:32Speaker 2: The bad news is Iran is now with the hoodies
- 9:37Speaker 2: threatening the target the Red Sea. That's another strait, another
- 9:41Speaker 2: port that we need. It's a twenty mile wide straight
- 9:45Speaker 2: southern end of the Red Sea. They're threatening to target that.
- 9:48Speaker 2: But this will all get resolved pretty fast, pretty easy
- 9:51Speaker 2: to take care of. All of this is not major,
- 9:53Speaker 2: major military stuff. Iranian protesters are saying revolution is just
- 10:00Speaker 2: around the corner. They can't wait to finish off this
- 10:02Speaker 2: awful regime. So we'll see. Hey, the funniest thing is
- 10:07Speaker 2: the president announces he's going to send the TSA into
- 10:10Speaker 2: the airports. So this whole democratic crazy left wing democrats
- 10:16Speaker 2: all over the Sunday shows, all over Twitter, all of it.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It's all coordinated. They have conference calls in the morning
- 10:24Speaker 2: where they coordinate the language whatever it's to say. So
- 10:28Speaker 2: yesterday they were told to say and it sounds crazy
- 10:33Speaker 2: but it's basically what Richard Blumenthal tweets. Richard Bloomenthal is
- 10:38Speaker 2: that sleazy, dirty senator from Connecticut who when they tell
- 10:42Speaker 2: him what to say, he'll basically just tweet it verbatim.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Bloomenthal tweeting out ICE agents at airports will only aggravate
- 10:50Speaker 2: delays and lines, disrupting checks, interrogating travelers, dragging parents from children,
- 10:56Speaker 2: detaining citizens, brutalizing families, shooting and even killing. So it
- 11:03Speaker 2: sounds insane, but they were told to say this, Jakeim
- 11:06Speaker 2: Jeffries and others basically putting out the same nonsense that
- 11:10Speaker 2: the ICE agents at the airport will be grabbing your
- 11:12Speaker 2: children away from you, brutalizing people and shooting and even
- 11:16Speaker 2: killing them. I know you're supposed to tweet this, and
- 11:22Speaker 2: you're supposed to do what you're told if you're in
- 11:24Speaker 2: the Democratic Party. But Bloomenthal, as dirty and as sleazy
- 11:29Speaker 2: as he is, should at some point I'm not tweeting
- 11:32Speaker 2: this out. This is ridiculous. But it's Bloomenthal who's been
- 11:35Speaker 2: caught in the most unbelievable lies. He lied about serving
- 11:40Speaker 2: in Vietnam, memory lied about speaking at the Communist Party dinner.
- 11:44Speaker 2: He denied it. The video existed of him doing it, So,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I mean, just crazy, a lot to get to today.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Michael Goodman will be with us in a few minutes,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and coming up a little later, we'll get to the
- 11:59Speaker 2: governor's race. Go over that in great detail. So, hey,
- 12:03Speaker 2: one reason things are going so well militarily. You know,
- 12:06Speaker 2: you can pick on Pete Hegsath all you want. You
- 12:09Speaker 2: can say, well, he's not the best at these press conferences,
- 12:12Speaker 2: But under Pete Hegsath, in the first year, in a
- 12:17Speaker 2: couple months, the military has executed the most incredible military
- 12:22Speaker 2: operations in the history of the US, from Venezuela to
- 12:27Speaker 2: taking out the nuclear reactors in Iran. I mean, just
- 12:29Speaker 2: unbelievable operations under Hexath and the war in Iran, We've
- 12:34Speaker 2: never seen anything like this. I mean, it's been incredibly
- 12:38Speaker 2: effective in just two weeks what they've taken out over there.
- 12:41Speaker 2: And one of the things that's being used it's a
- 12:44Speaker 2: big part of our military now, is AI. AI is unbelievable.
- 12:49Speaker 2: You know, we have satellite photography. When you go online
- 12:53Speaker 2: and you look at satellite photos and you can zoom
- 12:56Speaker 2: in on a house or something like that. That's the amateur stuff.
- 12:59Speaker 2: The stuff the government has their satellite imagery is unbelievable.
- 13:03Speaker 2: You can zoom in right on a license plate. You
- 13:06Speaker 2: can zoom in down to like an inch with perfect clarity.
- 13:09Speaker 2: It's unbelievable. So we use that satellite photography to look
- 13:12Speaker 2: at faces, to look at stuff in the streets of Iran.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Study everybody out in the streets, see everybody, and then
- 13:19Speaker 2: one of the things you can do is you can
- 13:20Speaker 2: try to identify the faces. Who's a Republican guard, who's
- 13:25Speaker 2: a you know, one of the Iatola's inner circle. Well,
- 13:29Speaker 2: it takes forever. You'd need thousands and thousands of people
- 13:32Speaker 2: and hours and weeks and months of studying the satellite photos.
- 13:36Speaker 2: But we use AI. Now AI can do that. If
- 13:39Speaker 2: there's a crowd of a thousand, it could look at
- 13:40Speaker 2: all thousand faces and in a millisecond identify exactly who
- 13:45Speaker 2: they are. That we've been using AI for all kinds
- 13:47Speaker 2: of stuff. Also, you know, tracking down where drones came from,
- 13:52Speaker 2: missiles came from. It's made an incredible difference for us
- 13:56Speaker 2: luckily as far as AI military technology where way way
- 14:00Speaker 2: ahead of everybody else. Hey, Savannah Guthrie issuing a terrible
- 14:05Speaker 2: you know, tearful, plea moving. Please don't forget about my mother.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Please don't stop looking. You know everybody's forgotten about it.
- 14:13Speaker 2: It's never in the news anymore. Most of the big
- 14:16Speaker 2: reporters covering it have packed up and gone home. But
- 14:19Speaker 2: she just begging people, don't forget keep going through anything
- 14:23Speaker 2: and everything. Every little detail you never know, no matter
- 14:27Speaker 2: how insignificant it could be, could be important. No detail
- 14:30Speaker 2: is too small, she said. We continue to believe we'll
- 14:34Speaker 2: find her or find an answer. And the other thing
- 14:36Speaker 2: she's coming back to the Today Show looks like maybe
- 14:38Speaker 2: April tenth, Savannah Guthrie will return to The Today Show.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Obviously not a lot of people watch it anymore, but
- 14:46Speaker 2: obviously there'll be big, big ratings that morning when she returns. Hey,
- 14:51Speaker 2: we'll take some calls next. Eight hundred three to two
- 14:53Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 14:57Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten in Mark on Demand by
- 15:02Speaker 2: setting up pre sad for his podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Now back to Mark Simon on wor Hey.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Let's stick some calls. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 15:16Speaker 2: seven ten is the number. Let's go to Bill in Pennsylvania, Bill,
- 15:20Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 15:21Speaker 1: How are you doing? Mark?
- 15:23Speaker 5: This is a little bit off topic, but perhaps you're
- 15:25Speaker 5: did clarify?
- 15:26Speaker 2: I know we had a topic, but go ahead.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Okay, Well I was you know, I've lived in New
- 15:31Speaker 5: York for fifty years. So I went down to the
- 15:33Speaker 5: subway last week on Patty's Day and there was Smoky
- 15:39Speaker 5: the Bear ads all over plastered all over the subway. No,
- 15:45Speaker 5: I don't notice there's a forest around here? Is there
- 15:48Speaker 5: a forest in New York?
- 15:51Speaker 6: Now?
- 15:51Speaker 2: That happens sometimes you buy a certain package of ads
- 15:55Speaker 2: and they put you in thirty seven different places, six
- 15:58Speaker 2: of which you don't need.
- 16:00Speaker 5: I know it's a PSA, but you know, I mean,
- 16:02Speaker 5: let's I mean, unless you can control lightning.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, there's some great advertising agencies out there, in marketing agencies,
- 16:14Speaker 2: but there's some really bad ones that'll put your ads
- 16:16Speaker 2: in all the wrong places. I see it happen all
- 16:18Speaker 2: the time with politicians and the other people that got
- 16:20Speaker 2: even then the radio, they got their ads on the
- 16:22Speaker 2: wrong radio station, wrong time period. Be very careful which
- 16:26Speaker 2: agency you use, which marketing agency, advertising agency. One good
- 16:30Speaker 2: thing about iHeart when you come here when you're a sponsor.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Sometimes we have to help you out with that and
- 16:35Speaker 2: tell you where your your media buyers were making some
- 16:37Speaker 2: big mistakes. Let's go to Mike and Long Island. Mike,
- 16:41Speaker 2: how you doing Hey? Mark?
- 16:43Speaker 4: Good morning? How you doing good? Mark?
- 16:45Speaker 1: I was I was.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Reading about the straits of her moves that the Armenian
- 16:49Speaker 4: tankers are still going through. You know, their their own
- 16:52Speaker 4: oil was going through. My question isn't why aren't we
- 16:55Speaker 4: seizing all their tankers and just holding them? Well, can
- 16:59Speaker 4: you explain why the army not doing that?
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, some some tigers are being let through, but but
- 17:04Speaker 2: we don't need the season. We have no need for
- 17:06Speaker 2: their oil.
- 17:09Speaker 4: It's not our oil that we need. But like if
- 17:11Speaker 4: we can, you know, two can play the same game.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but we don't want to play that game.
- 17:15Speaker 4: We'll release our oil when they release our oil.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we do have a lot of their oil.
- 17:20Speaker 2: There's a bunch of Iranian oil that was already out
- 17:22Speaker 2: at sea. Actually we've just released it just to just
- 17:25Speaker 2: to put oil into the market. But it's I understow
- 17:28Speaker 2: what you're saying. It's just not a necessary move. We
- 17:30Speaker 2: really don't need to do it. And just always remember
- 17:33Speaker 2: we don't use the straits of horror moves here in
- 17:34Speaker 2: the US, we don't use any of that oil. It
- 17:37Speaker 2: means nothing for us. Let's go to gym in New Jersey. Jym,
- 17:40Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I see three names here. You're one of your old friends,
- 17:46Speaker 1: just turned ninety five today, Captain Kirk. I know you
- 17:49Speaker 1: haven't talked to them in a while.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been on a while. William Shatner ninety five.
- 17:54Speaker 2: And and there are our other buddy, Herb Albert. It
- 17:58Speaker 2: just turned ninety and he's on tour. He's coming to
- 18:01Speaker 2: the teleisione.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Yes he's out there. He's out there, Yes he is.
- 18:03Speaker 1: And I see next week. And I met him before
- 18:05Speaker 1: about fifteen years ago at my autograph convention. John Aston
- 18:08Speaker 1: Gomez will be ninety five next week, John, and tomorrow
- 18:14Speaker 1: and tomorrow. You know he was a great mark. He's
- 18:16Speaker 1: an interesting guy, that John Asketon. He was Gomez on
- 18:18Speaker 1: the Adams Family. But for the last few decades he's
- 18:21Speaker 1: been a professor at John Hopkins University.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Great nice guys.
- 18:24Speaker 1: He teaches, yes he does. And tomorrow Shirley Jones will
- 18:28Speaker 1: be said ninety two. I met her about six years ago.
- 18:31Speaker 1: She signed a nice eight by ten of her olding
- 18:34Speaker 1: her Oscar Win from nineteen six, six sixty marks. She
- 18:38Speaker 1: went an oscar in nineteen sixty for Elmer Gantry. The
- 18:41Speaker 1: supporting actor told me about that question.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You go to these autograph shows, and yes, sir, what
- 18:46Speaker 2: do you do with these autographs?
- 18:50Speaker 1: I make, I get it for other people, some might
- 18:52Speaker 1: keep for myself. Next month it's coming up again. I'm
- 18:56Speaker 1: not going to tell you who's gonna be there because
- 18:57Speaker 1: I'm going to hold you in suspense. I like to
- 18:58Speaker 1: call you, I got some real you got some real names.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Next month's a couple of ninety year olds and Sally
- 19:05Speaker 1: Struthers Diane Cannon will be there. So well, I'll head
- 19:08Speaker 1: over in about three weeks.
- 19:09Speaker 2: You know, it's kind of sad. These are people that
- 19:11Speaker 2: were major motion picture starts. Now they're doing this. Now
- 19:14Speaker 2: they're doing autograph shows in New Jersey with guy's like
- 19:18Speaker 2: huge role. It's not the same.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Well, it's fun. And the one guy's going to be there,
- 19:22Speaker 1: he was. He's ninety five. He was on the Gomer
- 19:25Speaker 1: Pile Show. His name was Ronnie Shell. Oh, Ronnie Shell
- 19:28Speaker 1: is a great guy. He played Duke on Gomer Pile
- 19:30Speaker 1: And by the way, follow him on Facebook. He's very
- 19:33Speaker 1: active on Facebook. He yeah, he looks great. I'll report
- 19:38Speaker 1: all right.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Thanks. He posts a lot of stuff up there Facebook.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Ronnie Shell he was in gomer Pile and he once
- 19:46Speaker 2: did a TV show called Good Morning World nineteen sixty
- 19:49Speaker 2: seven where he played a morning disc jockey. It's actually
- 19:53Speaker 2: only lasted one season, but it was a great show.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 19:59Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark? I'm okay, Good morning Matra. What nerve?
- 20:02Speaker 6: Richard Blooming though that the guy has no shame. He's
- 20:05Speaker 6: out there, as you pointed out, talking about, oh, you
- 20:08Speaker 6: might get shot by an ice agent. Well, conveniently enough,
- 20:12Speaker 6: he didn't mention that the Chicago authorities arrested the illegal
- 20:18Speaker 6: alien who allegedly shot into that crowd of Loyola College
- 20:23Speaker 6: students and unfortunately hit the eighteen year old what's the
- 20:28Speaker 6: last name of Golvin from up in the Burbs and
- 20:31Speaker 6: everything killed. He conveniently forgot to mention that. In Today's
- 20:37Speaker 6: New York Post, there's a great article that chronicles everything
- 20:41Speaker 6: that you've been speaking about the dangers of these e
- 20:45Speaker 6: bikes and these electric scooters. It chronicled that last year alone,
- 20:49Speaker 6: and they even go back further but last year four
- 20:53Speaker 6: people were killed were from these e bikes and fifteen
- 20:58Speaker 6: fifteen people were seriously injured. Did Monday go visit the
- 21:06Speaker 6: people who were injured or the families of the people
- 21:09Speaker 6: who got killed. No. He goes out to Rikers Island
- 21:13Speaker 6: last week when Ramadan, the feast of Ramadan ends, and
- 21:17Speaker 6: he break spread with all the in mins. This is
- 21:20Speaker 6: in the post of all the the.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Was We'll get to that coming up, Vincent, great point,
- 21:27Speaker 2: thanks for calling. You have mom. Donnie went to Rikers
- 21:29Speaker 2: to pray with the inmates. I mean, this is the
- 21:32Speaker 2: most disgusting mayor we have ever seen. We'll get to
- 21:35Speaker 2: that coming up when we come back. Michael Goodwin, the
- 21:37Speaker 2: greatest columnists in America. He'll be with us next time
- 21:41Speaker 2: seven to ten wr.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Mark them.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Well with us right now. The greatest columnists in America.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin. You can read them every Sunday every Wednesday
- 21:53Speaker 2: in the New York Post and all his columns are
- 21:55Speaker 2: up on the New York Post website. Michael Goodwin, how
- 21:58Speaker 2: you doing, Good morning?
- 22:00Speaker 6: Mark? Thank you?
- 22:01Speaker 2: Hey? What a column about our crazy governor Kathy Hochel,
- 22:04Speaker 2: who tells everybody to get the hell out now. She's
- 22:07Speaker 2: telling everybody please come back. What is going on between
- 22:11Speaker 2: her ears?
- 22:13Speaker 7: Well, I do believe that although the polls show her
- 22:17Speaker 7: having a big lead over her Republican opponent, I do
- 22:22Speaker 7: think there is some sign that she's running scared.
- 22:26Speaker 6: She may not.
- 22:27Speaker 7: Believe those polls, but I think it has to do
- 22:31Speaker 7: with the record that she has built, and she's effectively
- 22:36Speaker 7: now running against her record because she realizes it's a liability.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Yeah, she's running against Bruce Blakeman. He'll be with us
- 22:44Speaker 2: in the next hour. He's a come from behind guy.
- 22:47Speaker 2: He did it in Nassau County. He was way behind
- 22:49Speaker 2: the polls. The polls were wrong. He's got real star
- 22:52Speaker 2: power and he's perfect for governor. He's been the best
- 22:55Speaker 2: county executive in America. That's a governor's sort of a job.
- 22:59Speaker 2: So what do you think he could pull this off? Goodly?
- 23:02Speaker 7: Could he could? But I think he will need some help,
- 23:06Speaker 7: and the help will have to come I think from Mamdani,
- 23:11Speaker 7: the socialist mayor of the city, because he is becoming
- 23:16Speaker 7: so unpopular and some of his ideas that I think
- 23:21Speaker 7: if Hoko gets too close to him and tries to
- 23:25Speaker 7: give him the tax hikes, that he wants and all
- 23:29Speaker 7: the spending he wants to do, then that's going to
- 23:32Speaker 7: be a trap for her, which is why I think
- 23:36Speaker 7: she is now trying to run away from this idea
- 23:40Speaker 7: of a tax and spend democrat, you know, trying to
- 23:43Speaker 7: get the rich to come back from Florida, trying to
- 23:47Speaker 7: fix the Climate Act, which he have been a big
- 23:50Speaker 7: supporter of. So all these signs tell me that she
- 23:56Speaker 7: sees some danger in her relationship with him and his
- 24:01Speaker 7: socialist ideas and antie Israel advocacy. So I think he
- 24:08Speaker 7: is kind of He could help her a lot in
- 24:11Speaker 7: the city, or he could help sink her and the
- 24:15Speaker 7: rest of the state.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah. But then the Bruce Blakeman adds, just right themselves.
- 24:19Speaker 2: You just cut together the flip flops of Kathy Hochel,
- 24:22Speaker 2: and that's what did in John Kerry. Don't you think
- 24:24Speaker 2: that would ruin her in the end?
- 24:28Speaker 7: Yes? I think it would certainly help to point out
- 24:31Speaker 7: the insincerity of her newfound concern about taxes and spending. Look,
- 24:39Speaker 7: Blakeman has been saying the right things. We haven't seen
- 24:45Speaker 7: any movement in his direction in the polls yet, but
- 24:50Speaker 7: there's lots of time, and I think he's got to
- 24:53Speaker 7: be quick on his seat to exploit every mistake that
- 24:59Speaker 7: she in this regard.
- 25:02Speaker 2: All right, now, let me ask you a question if
- 25:03Speaker 2: you had to, you're taking a big exam, whose test
- 25:06Speaker 2: paper would you copy off of vocals or Blakeman's.
- 25:13Speaker 7: That's a self incriminating question.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Yeah. So Blakeman is phenomenal, uh county executive. He'd be
- 25:23Speaker 2: a great governor. And let me let's get to mom
- 25:25Speaker 2: Downy for a second. What the hell is he doing
- 25:27Speaker 2: going to Rikers Island praying with the inmates and he's
- 25:32Speaker 2: never gone and done that with cops.
- 25:33Speaker 7: I mean no, or, as I say, is he going
- 25:37Speaker 7: to go and pray with the victims of the inmates?
- 25:40Speaker 7: Probably not. I mean he has aligned himself with the
- 25:47Speaker 7: outside forces right, whether it's he's going to arrest Benjamin
- 25:53Speaker 7: Nating Yahoo, he comes to New York. Uh, he is
- 25:58Speaker 7: a log himself with the people who are problems in
- 26:03Speaker 7: New York, with people who want to destroy America, destroy Israel.
- 26:08Speaker 7: I mean A Post has another good piece today on
- 26:11Speaker 7: his wife and her illustrations for the anti Israro crowd.
- 26:17Speaker 7: So he's got a very checkered record, to say the least,
- 26:23Speaker 7: and The question is can enough of his supporters decide
- 26:29Speaker 7: they made a mistake so that he has to begin
- 26:33Speaker 7: to change his song.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Yeah, he's I mean, I don't think he understands the
- 26:38Speaker 2: role of mayor. It's a management job. It's not right
- 26:41Speaker 2: being an activist or being a crazy.
- 26:44Speaker 7: Mark I had the exact same thought that you don't
- 26:47Speaker 7: see him murty dean mayor. You see him being a candidate.
- 26:53Speaker 7: He's still running and this issue, he's clearly playing around
- 26:59Speaker 7: with the city budget and the bond readings and three Well,
- 27:03Speaker 7: when three rating agencies within a short period say that
- 27:08Speaker 7: the city's outlook has gone from stable to negative and
- 27:13Speaker 7: they cite his plans and his preliminary budget, there's a
- 27:18Speaker 7: real warning shot across val Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Hey, Michael Good, let me ask you one more thing.
- 27:22Speaker 2: The idea of sending the ice agents into the airports
- 27:27Speaker 2: to back up the TSA's a good idea. But I
- 27:29Speaker 2: can understand Democrats want to attack the idea. But these
- 27:33Speaker 2: crazy statements like Richard Blumenthal saying the Ice agents will
- 27:37Speaker 2: grab children away from their families, will brutalize people, might
- 27:40Speaker 2: even shoot people. What is wrong with these Blumenthal types
- 27:45Speaker 2: to even say something like that?
- 27:46Speaker 7: Yeah, some disease Trump's arrangement. Right, anything Trump does has
- 27:53Speaker 7: to be the end of the world, or does it
- 27:56Speaker 7: make news? And that's the way the Democrats are is
- 28:01Speaker 7: hyperbolic competition. They have to say the most outrageous, fear
- 28:07Speaker 7: mongering things in order to get any attention. And of
- 28:11Speaker 7: course the media is happy to play along with it
- 28:15Speaker 7: because they're singing from the same tune. But look, I
- 28:19Speaker 7: do believe that something's got to be done about the airports.
- 28:23Speaker 7: And this is the response to Chuck Schumer's refusal to
- 28:29Speaker 7: vote for the Department of Homeland Security budget. I mean
- 28:33Speaker 7: Homeland security. I mean it's amazing. Is this just the
- 28:38Speaker 7: title itself should should wake them up?
- 28:41Speaker 2: Yeah, well I wouldn't count on it. But Michael Goodwin
- 28:45Speaker 2: great stuff. Read his column, his Sunday column if you
- 28:48Speaker 2: missed it, and you get all his columns, they're all
- 28:50Speaker 2: up on the New York Post website. Michael Goodwin every
- 28:53Speaker 2: Sunday and Wednesday. And thanks for being with us.
- 28:57Speaker 7: My pleasure, Mark, thank you.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Take care if you haven't seen that bloominhal tweet. And
- 29:01Speaker 2: then there was a Chuck Schumer on Morning Joe This Morning,
- 29:06Speaker 2: huffing and puffing, And I mean, you got to give
- 29:10Speaker 2: the President credit when it comes to trolling Democrats. He
- 29:14Speaker 2: is brilliant at it. The idea of sending ice into
- 29:17Speaker 2: the airports, what a great way to aggravate them into
- 29:20Speaker 2: doing something. And watch ice will do a great job
- 29:23Speaker 2: speed up things, and then the Democrats will go even
- 29:26Speaker 2: more nuts. We're gonna talk to Bruce Blakeman in the
- 29:29Speaker 2: next hour. We've got a lot coming up, a lot
- 29:32Speaker 2: to get to. We'll get the justin Timberlake, they released
- 29:34Speaker 2: the body cam video of his arrest. We'll get to Hey,
- 29:39Speaker 2: here's another great trolling from President Trump. We'll get to
- 29:42Speaker 2: this in the next hour. Don't forget Buck and Clay
- 29:45Speaker 2: at noon today with an excellent show. Then you got

- 30:36Speaker 2: will fall, football leaves changing, and hey, and then winter again.
