- 0:03Speaker 1: On scors Oscodio. This is the Reader Panalty Show.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Good evening and welcome to the readA Panecky Show. Coming
- 0:12Speaker 2: up tonight. Labour's primary vote in free fall in the
- 0:16Speaker 2: latest News poll. My panel will join me to discuss
- 0:19Speaker 2: the day's top headlines. Treasurer Jim Chalmers's embarrassing boast about
- 0:24Speaker 2: small business growth. Glinda Rasso will explain what the Treasurer
- 0:28Speaker 2: clearly misunderstood. Josh Hammer will have the latest from the US,
- 0:32Speaker 2: including the increasing power of the Radical Socialist movement within
- 0:37Speaker 2: the Democrat Party. Sunny Houston pulls the privileged card after
- 0:42Speaker 2: her son is arrested. Kinsey Scofield will have all the
- 0:45Speaker 2: latest role and entertainment news and Left He's losing It
- 0:49Speaker 2: features a pronoun inspired meltdown.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Can we get another unit to deal with them? Jay Lee? Here?
- 0:58Speaker 3: He is having any bigness.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Shine saying the right broad out? Would you say?
- 1:05Speaker 2: But first? Labour's primary vote has sung to its equal
- 1:09Speaker 2: lowest level since Anthony Albanizi won office in twenty twenty two.
- 1:13Speaker 2: The latest News poll data shows a Labour's primary vote
- 1:16Speaker 2: for from thirty three to thirty percent. They're now equal
- 1:20Speaker 2: with one nation and the coalition's primary vote has risen
- 1:23Speaker 2: from the historic law of seventeen percent to sit at
- 1:27Speaker 2: nineteen percent. Now, this is interesting. The Prime minister's net
- 1:31Speaker 2: approval rating sits at a diabolical minus eighteen percent, with
- 1:37Speaker 2: thirty nine percent of voters satisfied with his performance and
- 1:40Speaker 2: fifty seven percent dissatisfied. Compare that to Pauline Hanson, whose
- 1:45Speaker 2: net approval rating is neutral or sitting on zero, with
- 1:49Speaker 2: forty seven percent satisfied and forty seven percent dissatisfied. Joining
- 1:55Speaker 2: me now for more on this is Institute of Public
- 1:57Speaker 2: Affairs Research fellow Colleen Harken and Sky News contribute our
- 2:01Speaker 2: promac sween. Colleen, I'll start with you. The PM's negative
- 2:05Speaker 2: eighteen percent approval rating would be a cause of enormous
- 2:10Speaker 2: concern for labor most definitely.
- 2:14Speaker 5: I mean it is a sign between.
- 2:16Speaker 6: Both of those parties about the substantial loss of confidence
- 2:20Speaker 6: of both of those traditionally major parties and the role
- 2:24Speaker 6: of how really genuinely concerned they are about the role
- 2:27Speaker 6: of the standing of one nation and voted dissatisfaction. And
- 2:32Speaker 6: I think what's happening here is that both of those
- 2:35Speaker 6: traditionally major parties criticizing one nation is actually only making
- 2:40Speaker 6: that vote stronger. So they sort of need to be
- 2:42Speaker 6: careful of what they wish for in that scenario, because
- 2:45Speaker 6: demonizing Australians for having an open and transparent conversation about
- 2:49Speaker 6: how they might intend to vote is not going to
- 2:51Speaker 6: help either of those traditional parties.
- 2:56Speaker 2: The Libs seem to be slow learners at the moment.
- 2:59Speaker 2: They keep attacking one Nation. Earlier today on this station,
- 3:03Speaker 2: the Liberal shadow ministers again laying the boots into one
- 3:08Speaker 2: Nation instead of focusing on labor, and as Coline said,
- 3:12Speaker 2: it's actually not doing them any good. The media attacks,
- 3:15Speaker 2: the political attacks against one Nation don't seem to be
- 3:19Speaker 2: affecting their figures too much in the polls.
- 3:21Speaker 7: Exactly. It's ridiculous.
- 3:24Speaker 8: The backroom boys are obviously saying to Taylor, you know,
- 3:28Speaker 8: stick the boot into her.
- 3:30Speaker 7: We can always do a deal.
- 3:32Speaker 8: As remember, of course Albanezi always said he'd never do
- 3:34Speaker 8: a deal with the Greens, and of course he does
- 3:37Speaker 8: do deals with the Greens. And this will happen if
- 3:40Speaker 8: the Libs need to rely on one Nation to.
- 3:44Speaker 7: Get to government.
- 3:46Speaker 8: But as you said, Rita, the more they stick it
- 3:49Speaker 8: into one nation, and Pauline Hanson, the more that they're
- 3:54Speaker 8: going to pay for it because they can verbal her
- 3:58Speaker 8: and gaslight her. Call it populist politics, Well, it's actually
- 4:03Speaker 8: popular politics. It's reflecting the concerns and mood of the community.
- 4:10Speaker 2: This claim of populism I've always found profoundly amusing because
- 4:17Speaker 2: you're in the game of politics. It's a democratic processed
- 4:21Speaker 2: and the person with the most votes wins. So populism,
- 4:24Speaker 2: I would have thought, is just another way of democracy
- 4:29Speaker 2: doing its thing. Now, let's talk about Victoria. Almost two
- 4:33Speaker 2: thirds of voters in Victoria no longer believe the just
- 4:37Speaker 2: into Alan government can remedy the state's housing crisis. And
- 4:40Speaker 2: you report by Amplify Australia revealed sixty five percent of
- 4:45Speaker 2: Victorian's think the government won't reach its housing targets in
- 4:48Speaker 2: the next four years. CEO Martin Cordina said, the Victorian
- 4:53Speaker 2: government is facing a crisis of confidence on housing. Prove
- 4:58Speaker 2: we've got a war shopping. Eighty percent of the state
- 5:03Speaker 2: worried about the impacts of immigration on housing availability, a
- 5:08Speaker 2: topic you would never hear the Premiere or anyone in
- 5:11Speaker 2: labor addressing in any serious manner.
- 5:14Speaker 8: I'm surprised it's only eighty percent. I mean, we know
- 5:17Speaker 8: the basket case that Victoria is with the big build,
- 5:22Speaker 8: the fact that there's been so much waste of money,
- 5:26Speaker 8: and the lies and the spin, the deals with the unions, etc.
- 5:31Speaker 7: And it's really concerning.
- 5:33Speaker 8: So you know, we all know that immigration is causing
- 5:37Speaker 8: demand for housing. We are not meeting housing targets. We
- 5:41Speaker 8: cannot meet those housing targets. So of course the population
- 5:46Speaker 8: is going to wake up to the fact that this
- 5:49Speaker 8: is spin and lies and promises that the government will
- 5:52Speaker 8: not keep, and they're all going to suffer, whether they're
- 5:55Speaker 8: renters or home buyers.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Colleen, I think Victoria has given the of the country
- 6:00Speaker 2: a little preview of what happens in the housing sector
- 6:04Speaker 2: when you embrace these leftist anti investment positions. This state
- 6:10Speaker 2: has really gone down that road strongly. The land tax
- 6:15Speaker 2: in this state, plus all the tenancy laws that were changed,
- 6:20Speaker 2: which make it really quite unattractive to be a landlord
- 6:24Speaker 2: in this state.
- 6:26Speaker 6: Well, for a long time, Victoria has treated housing as
- 6:29Speaker 6: something to regulate, not something to build, and the consequences
- 6:33Speaker 6: of that have been extraordinary burden on investment, on the
- 6:37Speaker 6: opportunity to get into housing. You know, what we need
- 6:40Speaker 6: is we need to make housing faster, to be able
- 6:44Speaker 6: to build, to remove the regulation, we want to get government.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Out of the way.
- 6:48Speaker 6: Victoria has some of the highest taxing scenario in the country,
- 6:52Speaker 6: which just makes investments difficult and unpalatable. So we have
- 6:55Speaker 6: a sort of a perfect storm of all of the
- 6:57Speaker 6: things that make housing an achievable target. And you know,
- 7:03Speaker 6: with all of the layer upon layer of von problems,
- 7:07Speaker 6: including what Prouges referred to the immigration component increasing population,
- 7:12Speaker 6: it is no wonder that it is one of the major.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Issues that Victorian's are most concerned about.
- 7:18Speaker 9: Now.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Child psychiatrist Jillian Spencer has been formally cleared of wrongdoing
- 7:23Speaker 2: by Queensland Children's Hospital after it suspended her three years
- 7:28Speaker 2: ago for speaking out about so called gender firming care
- 7:31Speaker 2: for children. Doctor Spencer was stood down from clinical duties
- 7:35Speaker 2: in April twenty twenty three after assessing a patient who
- 7:39Speaker 2: was under the care of the hospital's gender clinic and
- 7:42Speaker 2: who had been taking puberty blockers. A complaint of transphobia
- 7:47Speaker 2: was made after consultation, and the hospital then decided she
- 7:50Speaker 2: was a risk to the safety of transgender and gender
- 7:54Speaker 2: diverse children. In a statement, the hospital and the Health
- 7:58Speaker 2: Service said its disputes which Childhood Allison psychiatrists have now
- 8:02Speaker 2: been settled and all matters had been resolved by mutual agreement.
- 8:07Speaker 2: We spoke to Jillian on Outsiders yesterday morning, Colen. What
- 8:14Speaker 2: this woman has endured is utterly shameful. There was institutional
- 8:19Speaker 2: bullying in my opinion, from start to finish.
- 8:23Speaker 5: And the other so you know, I agree with you,
- 8:24Speaker 5: Redra and the others.
- 8:25Speaker 6: To know here is to remember that it has gone
- 8:28Speaker 6: on for three years. So hately, Yeah, her ability to
- 8:33Speaker 6: actually speak out with professional integrity and raise a question,
- 8:37Speaker 6: that's all that was actually done was just to raise
- 8:39Speaker 6: a question about is this pathway best care? Are there
- 8:44Speaker 6: other considerations that we're not exposing and talking about?
- 8:49Speaker 5: And so she's been shut down and.
- 8:50Speaker 6: Her everything about her professional standing has been questioned, and
- 8:55Speaker 6: the fact that it's gone on for so long is
- 8:56Speaker 6: an absolute disgrace. We need to rely on our professionals
- 9:00Speaker 6: to be able to transparently talk about you know, scientific evidence,
- 9:05Speaker 6: and to be able to question what is going on
- 9:08Speaker 6: in practice and whether we're doing the best thing by
- 9:11Speaker 6: those who are in need of care.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Prue Gillian's plight here, I think just illustrates perfectly. Why
- 9:21Speaker 2: so many professionals are reluctant to say anything because you
- 9:25Speaker 2: see what's happened to her, three years of her life,
- 9:28Speaker 2: three years of a professional life, a reputation, all being
- 9:32Speaker 2: dragged through the mud, for having the temerity to speak
- 9:36Speaker 2: the truth, for having the courage to take a stand
- 9:38Speaker 2: on such an important issue.
- 9:41Speaker 8: You know, this is state sanctioned child abuse as far
- 9:44Speaker 8: as I'm concerned, and I just feel it's a shocking
- 9:49Speaker 8: indictment on everyone concerned.
- 9:51Speaker 7: But this is the problem with the society.
- 9:53Speaker 8: That we have groups of people, many of them in power,
- 9:58Speaker 8: who can suddenly keep Pete whistleb Boa is silent.
- 10:02Speaker 7: You know, we have it's a group think it's bullying.
- 10:06Speaker 8: And thank goodness, we've got warriors like Jillian, who is able,
- 10:11Speaker 8: who's brave enough to stand up and say enough but
- 10:15Speaker 8: not enough of that is happening, as you say, And
- 10:17Speaker 8: I think, good honor.
- 10:19Speaker 7: I ad my her greatly.
- 10:21Speaker 8: We need warriors like her, And how appalling And what
- 10:25Speaker 8: is it going to cost? What does this cost the
- 10:27Speaker 8: health system to fight this poor woman?
- 10:31Speaker 2: And hopefully you have more professionals find their courage and
- 10:35Speaker 2: when one of their own is persecuted like this, they
- 10:39Speaker 2: take a stand, They write into their professional bodies, they
- 10:42Speaker 2: speak to the media and they say this isn't healthy.
- 10:46Speaker 2: This is a climate of fear that's been created where
- 10:49Speaker 2: people aren't going to be speaking out. And we're talking
- 10:51Speaker 2: about professionals here who know better than most what's happening
- 10:55Speaker 2: in that area. Now, before you go, I've got to
- 10:58Speaker 2: talk about the World couple lot of Usustralians would have
- 11:00Speaker 2: been up early to watch Spain defeat Argentina to be
- 11:04Speaker 2: crowned World Cup champions. Donald Trump, of course, was front
- 11:08Speaker 2: and center during the victory ceremony, handing medals to the
- 11:12Speaker 2: Spanish players and watching he out hand the trophy to
- 11:16Speaker 2: the winning side. He was reluctant to get out of shot.
- 11:19Speaker 9: And President total Trump, who turned eighty over the first
- 11:23Speaker 9: weekend of this World.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Cup, and it will be brought to.
- 11:26Speaker 9: Them, the president of the game, the president of the
- 11:30Speaker 9: USA in twenty.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Twenty six, the champions.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Of the World.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Of Spain, and you will see some of the Spanish
- 11:43Speaker 2: players doing the Trump dance, the iconic WYMCA fist pump
- 11:48Speaker 2: dance prue. He was reluctant to get out of a
- 11:52Speaker 2: shot there as the player celebrated. He loves a photo bomb.
- 11:56Speaker 2: This is extraordinary what he has got in his set term.
- 12:00Speaker 2: If he'd been allowed to win that twenty twenty election,
- 12:03Speaker 2: depending on who you believe, he perhaps did win it,
- 12:06Speaker 2: but those efforts were frustrated. He would have missed the
- 12:11Speaker 2: World Cup, he would have missed the two hundred and
- 12:13Speaker 2: fifty year anniversary of the country, and he would have
- 12:15Speaker 2: missed the Olympics. All of those things will be happening
- 12:19Speaker 2: in his second term, or he's already had two of them.
- 12:21Speaker 2: The Olympics we get to come.
- 12:23Speaker 7: The Trumpster loves to be amongst the winners and to be.
- 12:27Speaker 8: Associating with anything that's positive and good on him.
- 12:32Speaker 7: I was more anxious.
- 12:33Speaker 8: I thought, how the hell is the sniper going to
- 12:35Speaker 8: take him out? You know, I was really anxious more
- 12:37Speaker 8: about that. So they must have had great security. But
- 12:41Speaker 8: he didn't want to give them exactly what he'd said
- 12:43Speaker 8: about Spain too. He'd really been route to them, so
- 12:46Speaker 8: he wasn't prepared to eat humble pie. You just you know,
- 12:49Speaker 8: was dusted it off, as the Trumpster does.
- 12:53Speaker 7: Well.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, he was rooting for Argentina coleeen of course, Harvey
- 12:57Speaker 2: and Milay his great friend the lead live there. And
- 13:00Speaker 2: of course Spain these days is a bit of a
- 13:04Speaker 2: leftist government. It's been a bit of a thorn in
- 13:07Speaker 2: America's side in geopolitics discussions. But it was all happy
- 13:12Speaker 2: celebrations there. There was no ill will.
- 13:15Speaker 6: Well, I'm one of these people who are saying, is
- 13:18Speaker 6: the World Cup over?
- 13:19Speaker 5: Is a soccer finished?
- 13:20Speaker 6: I'm not a very good sporting person, so but it
- 13:24Speaker 6: is nice to see. It's kind of like, you know,
- 13:27Speaker 6: a happy rivalry that's just you know, it's not overly politicized.
- 13:31Speaker 6: It's just a good fun thing that people get together
- 13:34Speaker 6: and enjoy sort of celebrating each other's customs. I love
- 13:37Speaker 6: the Spanish people sort of starting to dance in the background.
- 13:40Speaker 5: I thought that was fabulous.
- 13:41Speaker 6: I have a good question about Jeff Pesoss's white shoes
- 13:45Speaker 6: with your suit.
- 13:46Speaker 5: That was interesting to see.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Oh yes, but yeah, but you know, winners, the grinners,
- 13:51Speaker 6: it's all true. It's all great, you know, for sort
- 13:54Speaker 6: of you know, it's celebrating culture.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Well, the halftime show the rematch was also a world class.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I'll be talking to Kinsey Schofield about that later in
- 14:06Speaker 2: the hour. Ladies, thank you so much for your time
- 14:09Speaker 2: today Colleen Harkin Prue McSween now to another sign that
- 14:13Speaker 2: the Treasurer, Jim Chalmers is hopelessly out of his death.
- 14:17Speaker 2: He simply does not understand basic economic data and principles.
- 14:22Speaker 2: The Treasurer boasted on x that more new businesses were
- 14:25Speaker 2: created in June after the budget than in any other
- 14:29Speaker 2: month on record. What he fails to understand that this
- 14:33Speaker 2: data is driven by accountants restructuring trusts into companies to
- 14:38Speaker 2: get around his government's tax reforms tax hikes. Joining me
- 14:43Speaker 2: now is Tax invest Accounting director Blinda Razzo. Belinda explain
- 14:49Speaker 2: this data, no doubt some of it does reflect new
- 14:52Speaker 2: business activity, but a great deal of it would be
- 14:56Speaker 2: post budget restructuring.
- 15:00Speaker 10: Lutely, and when I saw this tweet, like a lot
- 15:02Speaker 10: of small business owners, I was actually furious. This is
- 15:07Speaker 10: gas lighting at its binus to be honest, and it's
- 15:10Speaker 10: misinterpreting and cherry pick in the data. So firstly, when
- 15:14Speaker 10: we look at the data that he's actually released, number one,
- 15:17Speaker 10: he's only looking at the figures of a proprietary limited.
- 15:20Speaker 10: He's not looking at the four different structures in the
- 15:23Speaker 10: country which we all know that we've got sole Trader
- 15:25Speaker 10: we've got proprietary limited trusts and partnerships and predominantly we
- 15:30Speaker 10: have sole traders in the country. Now, these figures that
- 15:34Speaker 10: he's cherry picking has come straight after the budget. Now
- 15:37Speaker 10: I can tell you as a registered tax agent and
- 15:39Speaker 10: a tax accountant the amount of inquiries that we've had
- 15:43Speaker 10: is just phenomenal since the budget.
- 15:45Speaker 2: So of course I will say.
- 15:47Speaker 10: That this figure of the new entities and new proprietary
- 15:50Speaker 10: limiteds is correct. But the reason for this is a
- 15:53Speaker 10: lot of people, a lot of small businesses are looking
- 15:56Speaker 10: at restructuring from the trust because of the thirty percent minimum.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Tax that's been included.
- 16:02Speaker 10: And we haven't even seen that draft legislation yet. And
- 16:05Speaker 10: also I needed to factor in how many investors are
- 16:09Speaker 10: actually turning towards entities rather than just borrowing or purchasing
- 16:14Speaker 10: these properties under their own names. So their cherry picking
- 16:17Speaker 10: this data just simply to suit themselves. But there's a
- 16:21Speaker 10: lot more to this tweet that actually is behind it
- 16:25Speaker 10: as well, and that's made me very furious as well.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Well. It's a question of whether it's ignorance or deliberate deception.
- 16:36Speaker 2: It's one or the other, because this data isn't reflecting
- 16:39Speaker 2: what the Treasure is claiming. It's not saying that small
- 16:44Speaker 2: business activity is at record levels because people are just
- 16:48Speaker 2: so confident and enamored by its budgets. Absolutely correct. Now,
- 16:54Speaker 2: the Prime Minister made an interesting common recently as well.
- 16:57Speaker 2: He said there is a potential for super funds to
- 17:00Speaker 2: be seen as a national asset that can be used
- 17:04Speaker 2: more appropriately. That prompted a sharp response from Westpac chief
- 17:08Speaker 2: executive Anthony Miller, who told the Prime Minister to keep
- 17:12Speaker 2: his hands away from Super Blinda. How concern should Australian
- 17:17Speaker 2: investors be about debt riddled governments looking at their super
- 17:22Speaker 2: as a source of potential income.
- 17:26Speaker 10: It's a really interesting question because I did have a
- 17:28Speaker 10: video on this on our social media and it's had
- 17:31Speaker 10: massive response over the week over the weekend on all platforms,
- 17:35Speaker 10: and the one thing that every Aussie.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Is saying is hands off.
- 17:40Speaker 10: Now. We do know that they can't just go in
- 17:42Speaker 10: and touch our super now, but the way these laws
- 17:45Speaker 10: are is that they can actually structure tax concessions to
- 17:50Speaker 10: make it a lot more tempting for these super funds
- 17:54Speaker 10: to actually do this, and we have seen that. So
- 17:58Speaker 10: when we look at the new legislation and for say,
- 18:00Speaker 10: purchasing and established property. If you are a superannuation fund,
- 18:05Speaker 10: not an SMSF. If you're a superfund or a widely
- 18:08Speaker 10: held trust, you're able to actually purchase an established property
- 18:14Speaker 10: and still continue to negatively gear. So when we look
- 18:17Speaker 10: at could this happen in the future, absolutely it can
- 18:20Speaker 10: because those tax concessions and the laws that they've got
- 18:23Speaker 10: around this, that's already happening. And this is why people
- 18:27Speaker 10: are panicked and people are angry, and there's been an
- 18:29Speaker 10: uproar about it. It's also important to note it's not
- 18:32Speaker 10: the first time Albanezi has said this. He does have
- 18:35Speaker 10: form on this, and he said it as way back
- 18:36Speaker 10: as twenty twenty.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Three, Blinda before you go. The auction clearance rate has
- 18:41Speaker 2: once again dropped below fifty percent Nationally. Clearance rates plummeted
- 18:45Speaker 2: to the low forties in mid June after the budget's
- 18:49Speaker 2: property tax hikes. How grim is the housing market right now?
- 18:54Speaker 2: The clearance rate is down, is volume down also?
- 18:58Speaker 7: Absolutely?
- 18:58Speaker 10: And this is a word that we get getting from
- 19:00Speaker 10: real estate professionals around the country and brokers as well.
- 19:03Speaker 10: And the one word that I would say is hesitant.
- 19:06Speaker 10: That's what most people are at the moment. They're hesitant.
- 19:09Speaker 10: They don't know what this is going to mean. We're
- 19:12Speaker 10: not expecting to have a big spring season like we
- 19:15Speaker 10: normally would in the real estate market. And on top
- 19:18Speaker 10: of the sales going down, the clearance rates going down,
- 19:21Speaker 10: we're also seeing a market increase in the red prices
- 19:24Speaker 10: around the country as well, which is very alarming.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Do you expect to see rents to increase further? We've
- 19:32Speaker 2: got more and more investors exiting the market. The pool
- 19:36Speaker 2: of rental properties is diminishing. I mean that just tells
- 19:39Speaker 2: you the laws of supply and demand, meaning rents are
- 19:42Speaker 2: going to go up. Do you see that happening because
- 19:44Speaker 2: Treasury is modeling says it won't happen.
- 19:47Speaker 7: Absolutely, I see it happening.
- 19:49Speaker 10: If you look back in history and what happened in
- 19:51Speaker 10: eighty five to eighty seven, the biggest issue was they
- 19:54Speaker 10: started out with a supply issue, is predominantly in Sydney
- 19:58Speaker 10: and Perth. Now started with the supply issue all around
- 20:02Speaker 10: the country. Now, to just think that this won't happen
- 20:04Speaker 10: again is just either being ignorant or just wishing for
- 20:08Speaker 10: a different result. And I'd like to think that they're
- 20:10Speaker 10: not as much being ignorant. They're just hoping for a
- 20:13Speaker 10: different result. But that's not going to happen. We can
- 20:15Speaker 10: already see the markers out there. They're saying two dollars
- 20:18Speaker 10: a week.
- 20:19Speaker 7: It's already exceeded that.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Belinda Razzo, thank you so much for your time tonight.
- 20:25Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Coming up Lefties Losing It plus all the letters from
- 20:30Speaker 2: the US, including the increasing power of radical socialists within
- 20:35Speaker 2: the Democrat Party. Josh Hammer is up next. Welcome back
- 20:49Speaker 2: to the Reader Paney Show. It's time for Lefties Losing It.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Let's start with the Free State of Florida, where a
- 20:57Speaker 2: University of Central Florida student identified as twenty seven year
- 21:00Speaker 2: old Jared Vic lost his mind and screamed like a
- 21:05Speaker 2: mad banshee because a campus police officer did not use
- 21:09Speaker 2: his preferred pronouns. Get ready for screechy sounds?
- 21:15Speaker 3: Can we get another unit to deal with jay Lee?
- 21:18Speaker 3: Here he is having a breakdown.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Say the right, proud.
- 21:25Speaker 3: You say, get down on the ground right now, ready
- 21:30Speaker 3: to get sprayed?
- 21:32Speaker 4: Right now?
- 21:34Speaker 3: I can come in there.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Will be alone. Please, Okay, are you gonna calm down?
- 21:38Speaker 11: I'm getting my phone out.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Oh it does not end there. The pronoun inspired meltdown
- 21:46Speaker 2: only got worse. More screechy sounds to follow.
- 21:50Speaker 4: I will calm down.
- 21:58Speaker 11: If you come down, come towards me, step jump down
- 22:13Speaker 11: and got.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Stop away.
- 22:27Speaker 3: You don't tell me where to go.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Top.
- 22:32Speaker 2: You know, that whole interaction started with the blue head
- 22:36Speaker 2: Lefty being horribly rude and hostile to the officer, and
- 22:40Speaker 2: he's still screeching about his preferred pronoun here he screams, she, she, she.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Sh shy.
- 22:51Speaker 12: Stop jock by just say say.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Josh, you please to tell them to your right rus.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Somehow, throughout it all, the officer maintained a level of
- 23:13Speaker 2: calm that was frankly heroic. But in the end he
- 23:17Speaker 2: laid down the law and put this miscreant in handcuffs.
- 23:20Speaker 3: So I'm going to ask you very nicely, put your
- 23:23Speaker 3: stuff down, turn around, put your hands behind your back,
- 23:30Speaker 3: get on the ground right now.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Don't don't hurt me. Get on the ground right now,
- 23:35Speaker 4: don't get down.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Took another five minutes to actually get him into handcuffs,
- 23:50Speaker 2: and Vic was eventually charged with a number of offenses.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Now that footage has only just come to light, but
- 23:56Speaker 2: that whole circus happened last year, and it just shows
- 24:00Speaker 2: you the excesses of the trans movement and why people
- 24:03Speaker 2: are resisting it. Now to the exciting news that President
- 24:07Speaker 2: Joe Biden or whoever works his autopen, has written a book.
- 24:13Speaker 13: Yay, that's the presidency.
- 24:15Speaker 9: I've had a lot of people ask me, Joe, what
- 24:17Speaker 9: have you been doing. I've written the book about my
- 24:20Speaker 9: time as president, leading the country through COVID, rebuilding our economy,
- 24:26Speaker 9: and restoring our democracy after the attack on January sixth
- 24:31Speaker 9: any no nation's longest won in everygdesty, strengthening leader, and
- 24:35Speaker 9: supporting Ukraine. That's about why I chose to run for
- 24:40Speaker 9: re election and why I chose to step aside.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yes, the Biden family has to make money somehow. Jill's
- 24:47Speaker 2: already released her book, and now former President Joe. They've
- 24:51Speaker 2: got to do something now that Hunter Biden's shonky exploits
- 24:55Speaker 2: have been curtailed. No more ten percent for the big guy.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Let's check in with Hollywood. Now, how is actress Rida
- 25:02Speaker 2: Wilson doing?
- 25:03Speaker 14: Here?
- 25:03Speaker 2: Is missus Tom Hanks inspiring commuters in the subway with song?
- 25:08Speaker 5: Do you have to prove it to you?
- 25:13Speaker 12: If I don't, then we will lose you. About the
- 25:18Speaker 12: bag of every line Roseanne history every time.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Tell me how like keep going.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Where the brackriss is so slow like my mother did before.
- 25:39Speaker 2: That was interesting. Now let's hear from one of the
- 25:44Speaker 2: leaders of the Democratic Socialists of America, Linda Sazel, who
- 25:48Speaker 2: is done with the Declaration of Independence. She wants the
- 25:52Speaker 2: Radical Socialists to write their own founding document for the country.
- 25:57Speaker 15: This is the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the
- 25:59Speaker 15: Declary of Independence. This is quote unquote America's birthday. And
- 26:03Speaker 15: the question historically is going to be, what were we
- 26:05Speaker 15: doing on the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the
- 26:08Speaker 15: Declaration of Independence? Do we have the audacity to sit
- 26:12Speaker 15: around and see that we want to build a document
- 26:14Speaker 15: that is our values and our principles. And we're going
- 26:16Speaker 15: to survive this, and some of us are going to
- 26:19Speaker 15: be on the fight back and some of us are
- 26:20Speaker 15: going to be on the other side waiting to catch
- 26:22Speaker 15: you when we win.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yep, that's Linda sarzw I've missed her. You might remember
- 26:27Speaker 2: her as one of the America haters embraced by the
- 26:30Speaker 2: Obama administration. She then became one of the leading lights
- 26:34Speaker 2: of the Women's March. Remember that travesty, tens of thousands
- 26:38Speaker 2: of women across America across the world donning those ridiculous
- 26:42Speaker 2: pussy hats and marching against the Julia elected US president
- 26:47Speaker 2: funding how these feminists never much for genuinely oppressed women
- 26:50Speaker 2: living under Shariah law. But I digress. Now these days,
- 26:54Speaker 2: sazw is one of the Islamist socialist leaders of the
- 26:58Speaker 2: darsay the likes of her leading the charge. It's no
- 27:02Speaker 2: wonder that even leftist luminaries like Bill Maher, who in
- 27:06Speaker 2: the past railed against President Trump, who called him a dictator,
- 27:10Speaker 2: said he would never leave offers. Well, they've changed their tune.
- 27:14Speaker 2: But first a trip down memory lane. Remember when Bill
- 27:17Speaker 2: Maher said this, that's what happens in that kind of
- 27:21Speaker 2: a dictatorship, which is what he says. Let's believe him,
- 27:24Speaker 2: take him at his word.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I did from the beginning. Yeah, I mean, I said,
- 27:27Speaker 1: from the very beginning, this guy is never going to
- 27:29Speaker 1: concede power. And he still hasn't. He still hasn't admitted
- 27:34Speaker 1: he lost the last election, and he advertises that he
- 27:37Speaker 1: will go on. He thinks, he says, he's been cheated
- 27:39Speaker 1: out of one term, so maybe we should get rid
- 27:41Speaker 1: of the only president only gets two terms things, and he.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Said plenty more. Bill Maher was almost as batshit crazy
- 27:49Speaker 2: as Bobby de Niro there. But now Bill Maher is
- 27:52Speaker 2: openly saying he's open to voting for jd Vance. He
- 27:56Speaker 2: doesn't want to live in a communist America.
- 28:00Speaker 13: You told jd Vance your open, your vote is up
- 28:03Speaker 13: for grabs. Yes, my vote is in play because it
- 28:06Speaker 13: can't be Trump running. So I'm not living in communist America.
- 28:11Speaker 13: I mean, I know the talking point is that it's
- 28:15Speaker 13: not communism and socialism. Okay, I've read the quote from
- 28:19Speaker 13: the DSA platform from their own mouths. Don't tell me
- 28:24Speaker 13: I'm not seeing what I am seeing.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Joining me now is Newsweek Senior editor at Large Josh Hammer. Josh,
- 28:32Speaker 2: tell me about the increasing power of the DSA within
- 28:36Speaker 2: the Democrat Party.
- 28:39Speaker 16: You know, you don't have chat about Bill Moore in
- 28:41Speaker 16: the past.
- 28:41Speaker 17: Memory serves and Bill Maher, I think is emblematic on
- 28:45Speaker 17: a personal level of this breedom Americans who find themselves
- 28:48Speaker 17: currently politically homeless. And these people are Democrats from the
- 28:53Speaker 17: Bill Clinton era who are currently the party has just
- 28:57Speaker 17: totally moved beyond them, and they haven't quite brought themselves
- 28:59Speaker 17: to to acknowledge the fact that there's only one sane
- 29:02Speaker 17: and rational political movements in America, and it's not the left.
- 29:04Speaker 16: That it's what's currently happening on the rights.
- 29:07Speaker 17: But sooner or later read I think most of the
- 29:09Speaker 17: people Bill Maher very much included, will go ahead and
- 29:11Speaker 17: wake up and smell the coffee. And part of the
- 29:12Speaker 17: reason they will wake up and smell the coffee and
- 29:14Speaker 17: because the DSA is now the beating heart of the
- 29:17Speaker 17: Democratic Party. So the DSA is the ideological base the
- 29:21Speaker 17: party according to the relevant polling Pugh Gallup, all of
- 29:24Speaker 17: America's major pollsters, it's also the ideological majority sentiment of
- 29:28Speaker 17: the party. And in fact, in Reason Q and Gallipol
- 29:30Speaker 17: and you actually see this that socialism now polls more
- 29:34Speaker 17: favorably among retiter Democrats than capitalism.
- 29:37Speaker 16: So when I say this is not your father's.
- 29:39Speaker 17: Grandfather's Democratic Party, it's not the party of Bill Clinton.
- 29:42Speaker 17: Bill Clinton famously said in his State of the Union
- 29:45Speaker 17: address in nineteen ninety six, I believe the year was
- 29:48Speaker 17: that the era of big government is over all these
- 29:51Speaker 17: things from my childhood, for many people's lifetime, it's gone.
- 29:55Speaker 16: It is just totally gone. You see it happening all
- 29:57Speaker 16: across America.
- 29:58Speaker 17: Read it's not just happening in New York's city zone,
- 30:00Speaker 17: Maam Donnie leaning this whole brigade in New York City.
- 30:02Speaker 17: You have the election of this radical out in Colorado,
- 30:05Speaker 17: Kiros in a formerly very purple middle of the road
- 30:09Speaker 17: district in Colorado. It's happening everywhere. So this is the
- 30:11Speaker 17: Democratic Party. You see people who are running for president
- 30:14Speaker 17: trying to desperately catch up Rokohana with this ridiculous stunt
- 30:17Speaker 17: over in Jay and Samaria a kid the West Bank.
- 30:19Speaker 17: They're all tripping over themselves to try to appease to
- 30:22Speaker 17: the far for a lout of even Kamala Harris the
- 30:24Speaker 17: most reason nominee Kamala Harris an interview a few months
- 30:27Speaker 17: ago saying that she's open to having the conversation about
- 30:29Speaker 17: abolishing the electoral college in the US Senate.
- 30:32Speaker 16: This is radical stuff.
- 30:33Speaker 17: And by the way, the DSA platform, and they just
- 30:35Speaker 17: revised this past week, the new DSA platform explicitly calls
- 30:38Speaker 17: for it explicitly calls to abolish the United States Senate.
- 30:40Speaker 17: They want to add Puerto Rico as the state. They
- 30:42Speaker 17: want to add Washing duc State. They want to abolish
- 30:45Speaker 17: the Senate, they want to pack the Supreme Courts. They
- 30:48Speaker 17: want free healthcarefrol they want free everything for all they
- 30:50Speaker 17: want they want, they want unicorn farts in heaven and
- 30:53Speaker 17: this and that.
- 30:53Speaker 16: These people are nuts. They're absolutely nuts.
- 30:57Speaker 17: And I think the craziest thing is rita that they
- 30:59Speaker 17: are trying to bamboozle us. As Bill Maher accurately gets there,
- 31:03Speaker 17: they're trying to convince us that our lying eyes don't
- 31:06Speaker 17: see what we actually see. But when people like ma'm
- 31:09Speaker 17: donnie quote the Karl Marx Friedrich Engels Communist Manifesto, which
- 31:13Speaker 17: ma'ndannie had to have a doing, you don't have to
- 31:16Speaker 17: be a mental level IQ, you don't have to be
- 31:18Speaker 17: a PhD in history. You see this and you know
- 31:21Speaker 17: that it stinks inherently there. And that's why I think
- 31:23Speaker 17: Democrats are hemorrhaging voters and almost me to readA. I
- 31:25Speaker 17: think this might be Republicans saving graces of relying in
- 31:28Speaker 17: come this November in these elections as well.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Well, looking beyond the mid terms, how likely are the
- 31:36Speaker 2: socialists going to be in determining who the next presidential
- 31:40Speaker 2: candidate is? For the Democrats, and well that means that
- 31:43Speaker 2: Bernie Sanders will finally get a go.
- 31:47Speaker 17: Well, listen, so the DNC rigged the twenty sixteen primaries
- 31:50Speaker 17: against Bernie Sanders. Rita, many of us have actually not
- 31:53Speaker 17: forgotten that. In many ways, it look it looks like
- 31:54Speaker 17: Bernie Sanders was set to win. The establishment came all
- 31:57Speaker 17: in for Hillary rod and Clinton ultimately didn't help them
- 32:00Speaker 17: too much for whatever it's worth. Back in twenty see,
- 32:03Speaker 17: but the DNC has essentially rigged elections against Bernie stands
- 32:06Speaker 17: before the problem is that the party establishment, they're clinging
- 32:11Speaker 17: on to this illusion that they can ride out this
- 32:14Speaker 17: socialist wave. So you have Ken Mahr in the chair
- 32:16Speaker 17: of the DNC, you have Chuck Schumer in the US
- 32:19Speaker 17: sen and the minority leader. You have like Keim Jeffries
- 32:22Speaker 17: minor leader in the House. These people are clinging on
- 32:24Speaker 17: to this illusion that the party can just move on
- 32:27Speaker 17: from this. But they're not moving on because the polling
- 32:29Speaker 17: is there, the young generation is there, this is the movement,
- 32:32Speaker 17: this is the party. So whoever is the Democrats nominee
- 32:35Speaker 17: in twenty twenty eight, even if it's a let's call
- 32:37Speaker 17: it a consensus candidate, like a Gavin Newsom, someone who
- 32:40Speaker 17: kind of straddles the fence between the establishment and the socialists.
- 32:44Speaker 17: He's gonna throw a lot of bones to the socials
- 32:46Speaker 17: and a bare minimum again, you're gonna You're gonna get
- 32:48Speaker 17: people like Kamala Harris, like Gavenusm who are throwing out there. Ah,
- 32:52Speaker 17: Let's have the conversation about abolishing the USL Let's have
- 32:55Speaker 17: a conversation about abolishing Let's have a conversation about like
- 32:59Speaker 17: a seventy eighty nine ers and punitive taxation rates or
- 33:02Speaker 17: the free healthcare of this that the conversation is just
- 33:07Speaker 17: totally shifting in real time, and the Overton window is
- 33:10Speaker 17: shifting as well. So can I guarantee you that the
- 33:12Speaker 17: presidential nominee will literally call for seizing the means of
- 33:16Speaker 17: production and all these other various Marxist nostrums from the
- 33:20Speaker 17: from the nineteenth century, these rue nations of this ideology
- 33:24Speaker 17: that have resulted in the highest death count in human
- 33:28Speaker 17: kind history, which is what communism is is esimate death
- 33:30Speaker 17: counts one hundred million or more. So I can I
- 33:33Speaker 17: guarantee you that the DNC platform into twenty twenty eight
- 33:36Speaker 17: will exactly mirror the Communist manifesto. No, but I think
- 33:39Speaker 17: it's going to look quite a bit different already than
- 33:41Speaker 17: the twenty twenty four platform, which frankly was a ready
- 33:43Speaker 17: pretty radical relative to the year four of that. If
- 33:45Speaker 17: it's going in one direction, rida and it's not getting
- 33:47Speaker 17: a pretty as the point.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Now, let's talk about the bombshell election integrity revelations. Newly
- 33:55Speaker 2: declassified intelligence documents revealed China had quiet or attempted to
- 34:01Speaker 2: arquive voter registration information for as many as two hundred
- 34:06Speaker 2: and twenty million Americans. Josh President Trump said that individuals
- 34:11Speaker 2: within intelligence agencies work to actively suppress and downplay information
- 34:16Speaker 2: about the extent of China's cybersecurity attacks. Why would they
- 34:21Speaker 2: do that? Why would do they do that instead of
- 34:24Speaker 2: raising the alarm at the highest levels?
- 34:27Speaker 17: Well, I think the simple suspanation reader is that the
- 34:30Speaker 17: deep state is very real, and in some cases it's
- 34:32Speaker 17: actually not particularly deep. In this case, it probably is
- 34:35Speaker 17: the shallow or kind of shallow adjacent or at least
- 34:38Speaker 17: the mid the mid state, you might call it. And
- 34:41Speaker 17: that's to say that the rot runs really deep. There
- 34:44Speaker 17: are a lot of people all around Donald Trump who
- 34:46Speaker 17: are vipers. By the way, this is more a problem
- 34:48Speaker 17: in the first term. In this second term, it's been
- 34:50Speaker 17: a little different. They're definitely running a tighter ship in
- 34:53Speaker 17: this respect this time around. Not perfect by the way.
- 34:55Speaker 17: It definitely haves some ourllyers, but it's overall it's a
- 34:57Speaker 17: lot better than some around than it was the first
- 34:59Speaker 17: hime a round. But when Trump came in that first
- 35:01Speaker 17: time around, in particular, he was the He was the outside.
- 35:04Speaker 17: He was the quintessential outsider. He had no establishment's machinery,
- 35:09Speaker 17: no people around him there, so he was necessarily reliant
- 35:11Speaker 17: upon the levers of power of the rn C, of
- 35:14Speaker 17: supporting outside groups, the think tanks, the super PACs that
- 35:16Speaker 17: are there, and a lot of people got into at
- 35:19Speaker 17: times fairly senior levels who should not have been there.
- 35:22Speaker 17: We saw this with James Combe and Rod Rosenstein and
- 35:25Speaker 17: AA and all throughout the d O J perhaps in
- 35:28Speaker 17: particular that was the whole rush Gay collusion, and yeah,
- 35:30Speaker 17: a lot of fuel got in here apparently. This is
- 35:32Speaker 17: one of the many things that he revealed to the
- 35:34Speaker 17: nation in the primetime address this past Thursday. For me
- 35:36Speaker 17: read it personally one of the biggest opening parts of
- 35:39Speaker 17: this address that this past this past week to me
- 35:42Speaker 17: was that there are hundreds at least two to three
- 35:44Speaker 17: hundred thousand illegal aliens currently on voter rolls in America.
- 35:48Speaker 17: That is absolutely positively astonishing every single illegal alien who
- 35:53Speaker 17: casts a vote to in the United States, that is
- 35:55Speaker 17: a that is a normal American citizen whose vote is
- 35:58Speaker 17: being canceled.
- 36:00Speaker 16: That's how I view it.
- 36:00Speaker 17: I view it basically as a zero sum game. And
- 36:03Speaker 17: ultimately the purpose of this address was to galvanize. It
- 36:07Speaker 17: was really attended for an audience one person of Volver.
- 36:09Speaker 17: It was really intended for an audience of John fun
- 36:11Speaker 17: who's the majority leader in the US Senate. For Republicans,
- 36:13Speaker 17: it's really trying to get John Fune off of his
- 36:15Speaker 17: lazy but to try to actually pass the Safe America
- 36:18Speaker 17: Act Once and for All, which is Donald Trump's number
- 36:20Speaker 17: one legislatey of initiative. It is a bill that would really,
- 36:23Speaker 17: above all, do two things. One, it would have universal
- 36:26Speaker 17: voter ID requirements. Two is that it would require proof
- 36:29Speaker 17: of citizenship to actually register to vote in election. Neither
- 36:32Speaker 17: of these are fifty fifty to fifty issues. They're closer
- 36:34Speaker 17: to two to one issues, at least in favor of Republicans.
- 36:38Speaker 17: Democrats say that it's racist, it's xenophob because this is
- 36:41Speaker 17: that they are. Frankly, I think that's just really it's crazy,
- 36:44Speaker 17: it's insulting, frankly, to black voters. It's really what it is,
- 36:46Speaker 17: that's arguing that they're too stupid to get a voter
- 36:50Speaker 17: idea itself, which is just it's racist. It's literally a
- 36:53Speaker 17: racist argument. So I don't know whether John Fune will
- 36:56Speaker 17: be motivated enough to actually act read aboute I do
- 36:58Speaker 17: know is that the more has revealed I think the
- 37:01Speaker 17: ads Bill hir and for that I am grateful for
- 37:03Speaker 17: this past addressed.
- 37:04Speaker 1: This past week.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Now, before you go, I've got to ask you about
- 37:07Speaker 2: this headline news around Australia over the weekend about this
- 37:13Speaker 2: man who had overstayed his visa being arrested at the airport.
- 37:18Speaker 2: It was presented in the most sensationless manner, ice agents
- 37:23Speaker 2: violently detaining this fifty seven year old character called Funwan,
- 37:30Speaker 2: who was handcuffed by plane clothes offices as he yelled
- 37:34Speaker 2: let me go, let's have a look. I now, Josh.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Buried deep in the stories around this arrest was the
- 37:50Speaker 2: fact that this character was in the US illegally. In fact,
- 37:55Speaker 2: his visa ran out more than a decade ago.
- 38:00Speaker 16: Yeah, funny how that works, right.
- 38:01Speaker 17: This is a classic thing that that the media do
- 38:04Speaker 17: in general, is the very details of of this nature.
- 38:08Speaker 17: Listen Ice oftentimes is prioritizing people just like this, people
- 38:12Speaker 17: who's who's visa spartal on talking about people who who
- 38:14Speaker 17: are sex traffickers, who who are who have done terrible,
- 38:17Speaker 17: terrible deats. And by the way, it's not just the
- 38:19Speaker 17: media that's burying in this read, it's also a lot
- 38:21Speaker 17: of the democratic establishment that's trying not just to bury it,
- 38:24Speaker 17: but oftentimes trying just to pardon them. So, for instance,
- 38:27Speaker 17: actually you had a had he had a horrific, horrific
- 38:29Speaker 17: situation in Minnesota, in Tim Wallas's state, where Mark Rubio
- 38:33Speaker 17: or Psycota State came in over the top of Tim Walls.
- 38:36Speaker 17: Tim Walls was trying to issue a pardon to a
- 38:39Speaker 17: to a man I believe he was from Laos actually
- 38:41Speaker 17: in Southeast Asia, who had assaulted and or possibly raped
- 38:45Speaker 17: a camera and the exact he details it, but he
- 38:46Speaker 17: committed horrific sexual crimes against a minor girl years and
- 38:49Speaker 17: years ago. Tim Walls was trying to shield this individual
- 38:52Speaker 17: from deportation. Mark Rubiak from at the top and said, no, no, no, no,
- 38:56Speaker 17: not going to happen this guy. Get him the heck
- 38:58Speaker 17: added here, so he is on his way out out
- 39:00Speaker 17: of the AGA. If I'm not mistaken there here Look,
- 39:02Speaker 17: I mean, people see this video. They see a guy
- 39:05Speaker 17: crying and whimpering, and immediately the human heart stirs and says, oh,
- 39:09Speaker 17: what's going on here? I don't like the way this
- 39:11Speaker 17: looks there, But you know, do a little reading, like
- 39:13Speaker 17: like actually read a little bit, like get into the facts.
- 39:16Speaker 17: Usually there's a lot more there that meets the eye.
- 39:18Speaker 17: I am a staunch defender of this administration's ice policy.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Read it.
- 39:22Speaker 17: I frankly, I think if anything is actually not going
- 39:23Speaker 17: hard enough, fast enough. And by the way, I think
- 39:25Speaker 17: that the immigration on Jenna continues to be a politically
- 39:28Speaker 17: winning issue Republicans. There are a lot of Pannikins who
- 39:30Speaker 17: are freaking out on this issue, saying, oh my god,
- 39:33Speaker 17: Republicans are going to lose all their interronts with Hispanic voters.
- 39:36Speaker 16: I don't buy it for a second.
- 39:37Speaker 17: Hispanic voters came over to the Republican Party during the
- 39:41Speaker 17: era of Trump. They came because of Trump, not in
- 39:44Speaker 17: spite of him. So I think they want more of
- 39:46Speaker 17: that as do I.
- 39:46Speaker 3: For them matter.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Josh Hammah, thank you so much for your time.
- 39:51Speaker 16: Thank you reader, appreciate it.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Still to come all the latest in royal and entertainment news,
- 39:56Speaker 2: including Sunny Houston pulling the privileged card after her son
- 40:00Speaker 2: is arrested. Kinsey's Schofield is up next. Welcome back now
- 40:17Speaker 2: the views. Sunny Houston celebrated the law fair against President Trump.
- 40:22Speaker 2: The clearly politically motivated prosecutions were to her a sign
- 40:26Speaker 2: that no one is above the law. It's a celebrated
- 40:30Speaker 2: the law and how it applies.
- 40:31Speaker 7: To all of us.
- 40:33Speaker 2: But it seems when it's her son arrested, then some
- 40:36Speaker 2: people are above the law, especially if they went to
- 40:39Speaker 2: Harvard or their mummy was once a prosecutor.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Back for a second, what's going on, persecutor?
- 40:48Speaker 8: Are you are you arresting?
- 40:53Speaker 7: Well, you know you have cameras everywhere. Normally it's a
- 40:57Speaker 7: misdemir Chorge, we're ley.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I know you're upset.
- 41:02Speaker 5: I'm a former federal prosecutor. He knows or he's a
- 41:05Speaker 5: Harvard grad, he teaches.
- 41:06Speaker 4: Fourth grade geon if she just kids buff, it's not
- 41:09Speaker 4: a kid.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Who's eparent trouble joining me now is host of the
- 41:14Speaker 2: Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast. Kinsey, this was a minor offense,
- 41:20Speaker 2: but that didn't stop Sonny pulling out the Harvard card.
- 41:25Speaker 2: All of rather privileged.
- 41:26Speaker 14: If you ask me, yeah, the Harvard card isn't a
- 41:30Speaker 14: get out of jail free card. It's exactly the kind
- 41:33Speaker 14: of privilege or the elite that Sonny claims to oppose.
- 41:37Speaker 14: This wasn't just about a trespassing stop. It was about
- 41:42Speaker 14: the entitlement. Sonny has spent years telling America that no
- 41:45Speaker 14: one is above the law, but suddenly her son's Harvard
- 41:48Speaker 14: education becomes a character reference. Harvard isn't a diplomatic immunity.
- 41:53Speaker 14: If we're going to celebrate equal justice, it has to
- 41:56Speaker 14: apply when it's inconvenient too, Kinsey.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Let's talk World Cup. Spain are World Cup champions. They
- 42:04Speaker 2: beat Argentina one nil, and some of the globe's biggest
- 42:08Speaker 2: stars were there for the pre match and halftime entertainment.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Let's look at the pre match first. It was headlined
- 42:14Speaker 2: by Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Kinsey. Even actor Tom Cruise
- 42:18Speaker 2: made an appearance.
- 42:21Speaker 14: That's right, I mean, this is why the World Cup
- 42:24Speaker 14: is unlike anything else. FIFA always brings in a global superstar,
- 42:28Speaker 14: and this year I think my highlight was Timothy Charalamaye
- 42:31Speaker 14: carrying the official match ball onto the pitch. It's theatrical,
- 42:35Speaker 14: it's glamorous, and it immediately tells you you're watching the
- 42:38Speaker 14: biggest game in the world, not just another championship.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Now, Kinsey, the much anticipated halftime show featured massive names.
- 42:46Speaker 2: We had Justin Bieber there, Madonna, Shakira. Let's have a
- 42:50Speaker 2: look at Madonna. She was on stage with a couple
- 42:53Speaker 2: of Brazilian football legends. Did everybody get up and what
- 43:04Speaker 2: was the standout performance for you? Kinsey? And did anybody
- 43:08Speaker 2: miss the mark? I have heard mixed reports from some commentators.
- 43:12Speaker 2: How did you see it?
- 43:14Speaker 14: Honestly, look, when I watched this, I thought the World
- 43:17Speaker 14: Cup halftime show was better than any NFL halftime show
- 43:21Speaker 14: I've probably seen it in ten years, and going forward,
- 43:25Speaker 14: I think that the Muppets should be a mandatory requirement
- 43:28Speaker 14: for World Cup halftime shows.
- 43:30Speaker 16: But they were adorable.
- 43:31Speaker 14: Coldplay was very clever about touching on so many different genres,
- 43:35Speaker 14: so if you were watching as a family, it felt
- 43:37Speaker 14: like there was genuinely something for everyone. I loved the
- 43:41Speaker 14: Ted Lasso cameo before Justin Bieber, and the whole thing
- 43:44Speaker 14: just felt sweet, joyful and family oriented. I really hope
- 43:49Speaker 14: Jay Z, who was there, who oversees the NFL's halftime shows,
- 43:53Speaker 14: was taking notes, because apparently you can entertain an entire
- 43:57Speaker 14: family without trying to shock half of them.
- 44:00Speaker 2: We know now. Comedian Ricky Gervais has rejected calls for
- 44:05Speaker 2: him to tone down his comedy and is refusing to
- 44:09Speaker 2: apologize if people are offended by his work. Let's have
- 44:12Speaker 2: a listen to this interview.
- 44:14Speaker 3: They're always telling people to not be offended, but is
- 44:17Speaker 3: there anything that you've secretly been offended by?
- 44:19Speaker 4: That's from Sarah shruption.
- 44:20Speaker 18: I'm offended all the time. I don't tell people not
- 44:22Speaker 18: to be offended. I tell them I don't care if
- 44:24Speaker 18: they are right. Be offended if you want. Yeah, it
- 44:27Speaker 18: makes it funnier for me, and you can't help. You
- 44:30Speaker 18: can't out what you're offended by. But don't expect me
- 44:33Speaker 18: to care, is what I say. It's a myth that
- 44:36Speaker 18: I go out to offend. I never go out to offend.
- 44:38Speaker 18: I just know that it's probably going to happen because
- 44:40Speaker 18: everyone's different. There's nothing you can say, particularly anything that's
- 44:44Speaker 18: mildly interesting or contentious or your viewpoint that someone somewhere
- 44:50Speaker 18: won't find offensive. And times have changed. Twenty years ago,
- 44:52Speaker 18: if someone said I was offended by that, I probably
- 44:54Speaker 18: would go why Now I go, Yeah, I know you are,
- 44:58Speaker 18: I know everyone is.
- 45:00Speaker 2: He also said he is just done with cancel culture.
- 45:03Speaker 2: He is not entertaining it anymore.
- 45:07Speaker 7: I mean, good for Ricky Jervis.
- 45:08Speaker 14: Comedy isn't supposed to come with a warning label. The
- 45:10Speaker 14: audience decides what's funny by buying tickets or staying home.
- 45:14Speaker 14: That's so much healthier system than a handful of activists
- 45:17Speaker 14: trying to decide what the rest of us are allowed
- 45:19Speaker 14: to laugh at.
- 45:20Speaker 2: We need more Ricky Gerves.
- 45:24Speaker 7: We do.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I mean, he is one of the very best in
- 45:27Speaker 2: the business. Absolutely, his stand up work is astonishing. Another
- 45:32Speaker 2: one whose stand up work is right up there is
- 45:35Speaker 2: Shane Gillis, and he's officially broken the Guinness World Record
- 45:39Speaker 2: for the most tickets sold by a solo comedian. He's
- 45:42Speaker 2: sold more than seventy six thousand tickets that many fans
- 45:48Speaker 2: poured into the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia at once
- 45:52Speaker 2: to attend his comedy show Kinsey. Dave Chappelle made an appearance,
- 45:56Speaker 2: and I do wonder if Chelsea Handler is watching on
- 46:01Speaker 2: because she's recently had a clash with him, and he
- 46:05Speaker 2: can't doubt his popularity. He's funny and people are just
- 46:09Speaker 2: crying out for comics who make them laugh. You don't
- 46:11Speaker 2: lecture them, that's right.
- 46:14Speaker 14: Yeah, Chelsea Adler might have a couple of celebrity friends.
- 46:17Speaker 14: But Shane Gillis has seventy six thousand people buying tickets
- 46:21Speaker 14: to his shows. That's a much louder endorsement. The attendance
- 46:25Speaker 14: record tells you everything you need to know. For years,
- 46:28Speaker 14: Hollywood insisted audiences wanted sanitize politically correct comedy. Shane Gillis,
- 46:33Speaker 14: you know, talk about cancel culture was canceled for a
- 46:37Speaker 14: very brief period. Meanwhile, he's filling now today a football stadium.
- 46:43Speaker 14: It turns out regular people still enjoy comedians who aren't
- 46:46Speaker 14: afraid to tell jokes.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Absolutely is so right. He was canceled, He was sacked
- 46:51Speaker 2: from Saturday Night Live. Wasn't he from something he had
- 46:54Speaker 2: said years earlier? And that whole cancel culture took hold
- 46:58Speaker 2: and people thought, well, that's it. His career was pretty
- 47:01Speaker 2: much over before it started. But here he is. And
- 47:04Speaker 2: one of the things he does best is his Donald
- 47:07Speaker 2: Trump impersonation. I still say his is the best one
- 47:10Speaker 2: there is, and everyone's got a Donald Trump impersonation. Now
- 47:14Speaker 2: let's talk about Harry and Meghan. There's been reports that
- 47:17Speaker 2: a possible return to the UK may be on the cards.
- 47:21Speaker 2: One inside I told the Daily Mail there is definitely
- 47:24Speaker 2: a feeling in his camp that he has started to
- 47:27Speaker 2: feel a bit of unwelcome in America. I am told
- 47:31Speaker 2: this is coming from Meghan as well as him. I
- 47:34Speaker 2: hear that Meghan is awful rekindling with the and reconnecting
- 47:39Speaker 2: with Harry's English side. She is fully behind it. Oh kinsy,
- 47:45Speaker 2: can you see this happening? I were going to see
- 47:47Speaker 2: the prodigal son and his American wife moving back into
- 47:50Speaker 2: the palace.
- 47:53Speaker 14: I don't think Buckingham Palace is preparing the guest room
- 47:55Speaker 14: just yet. Trust doesn't rebuilt with anonymous briefings to news
- 48:00Speaker 14: like the one we just read. It's rebuilt quietly over time,
- 48:04Speaker 14: and Harry still has a long way to go. But
- 48:06Speaker 14: reality bites America didn't crown Harry and Meghan the Royalty
- 48:10Speaker 14: of Hollywood the way they expected that is true. Britain
- 48:14Speaker 14: is still where Harry's identity, history and relevance are rooted.
- 48:19Speaker 14: I just don't think he deserves a second chance, and
- 48:23Speaker 14: based on spending time there, I don't think the British
- 48:26Speaker 14: public has any desire to give him that second chance.
- 48:29Speaker 14: They are They're as fed up as the Americans are
- 48:32Speaker 14: with him and Megan's antics.
- 48:35Speaker 2: They are probably more fed up because they're far more
- 48:38Speaker 2: engaged in this story than the Americans ever were. I
- 48:42Speaker 2: think the Americans just looked at them as a couple
- 48:44Speaker 2: more celebrities. But in the UK there's deep feeling and
- 48:49Speaker 2: deep resentment Kinsey about the way they have behaved, the
- 48:53Speaker 2: way that they made the queen's final years really a hell.
- 48:58Speaker 2: She had a family dirty laundry being aired with Oprah
- 49:03Speaker 2: and on reality.
- 49:04Speaker 14: Shows, right, and that's currently what the King is dealing
- 49:10Speaker 14: with and navigating too. I mean, I think that there
- 49:13Speaker 14: is a fear that if they don't give Harry and
- 49:16Speaker 14: Meghan what they want, that Harry and Meghan will push
- 49:19Speaker 14: it even further. I mean, at least that's what I'm
- 49:21Speaker 14: telling myself to justify the meeting between the King and
- 49:24Speaker 14: the grusome tuisome, because otherwise I'm very disappointed in the
- 49:28Speaker 14: idea of it.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Kinsey Schofield, thank you so much for your time tonight,
- 49:33Speaker 2: and that's all the time we have. Don't go anywhere.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Newsnight is up next
