- Restart.
- Welcome to another episode of the Tough Crowd Podcast, I'm Maisie.
- I'm Emma? And I'm Jenny.
- I wanted to be Mama J, but I'm told I can't be anymore.
- So I'm being censored Well, you 30 seconds ago, and it ended now because you've never been called that.
- No, I was Mama J last episode And we didn't like it then.
- And you're crushing my Mama J.
- It sounds like a big, big ol southern woman.
- Mama J! It's giving Aunt Jemima vibes.
- She's cancelled, oh.
- Yeah, emma, why don't you just tell us what you've had going on? Also Natalie's not here today because she couldn't make it.
- Mom, you had one one against mom.
- Mom had one job, and she got so caught up in introducing herself that she forgot her one thing that she had to say.
- You're welcome.
- By the way, Natalie's not here this Take it away, Mom called me today and told me that she got told that she talked about the podcast too much by Maisie.
- I was away all week at a golf tournament and every text I received from mom had something to do with the podcast.
- Do you have posts scheduled today for the podcast? Here are captions for the posts.
- Do you have posts scheduled today? multiple times Do you want me to post the post that I sent to you about the post to post? And then she would ask me what's your schedule this weekend and I would reply So you can schedule the podcast.
- No, she texted me out.
- I told her like I cannot be around Tuesday through Thursday just because I'm in the office.
- And she texted me on Thursday.
- Can I call you with some podcast questions after? And I go, I'm out at Cocktails for Work.
- She goes, ask them what they'd like to hear about on the podcast.
- LOL.
- Next text, an hour later.
- Can you do the podcast at 6 tomorrow? I said, I can't, I'm in Boston, which I had told her.
- She said, okay, can you do it midday? Tomorrow.
- And I said, no, I'm working as I'd work on Fridays.
- It's too Next text.
- We need Bobby on the podcast.
- Yeah, Bobby and I are gonna do a solo episode and I'm going to interview him.
- So everyone get excited for that to drop I need,, fire flames.
- I need director's cut because that scares me.
- I think it's gonna be fabulous.
- I already have questions.
- Like what type of questions? Don't worry about it.
- Just give me like on the podcast.
- me one question you would want to ask him.
- When did you know Emma was the one? Oh, that's so gross.
- Don't ask that.
- I'm kidding.
- I'm kidding.
- Tell us about the conversation you just had when we were For the podcast Bobby and I are going to Florida in 10 days, like not this weekend, but next, or two weekends from now.
- And he called me and said, what's our schedule? For Florida, and I said, why, just so you know that doesn't, you can't, we don't have much, but you can't plan something for every day, because he knows a million people everywhere we go, and he said, my buddy Bill or something, wants to hang out, and I said, Bill sounds like he's 80, and he was like, well, he's 56, and I'm like, and he's your buddy? He's like, yeah, my buddy from the Yacht Club, Bill, wants to hang out at the Palm Beach Yacht Club, he's a boat dealer, and, Marina Realtor.
- And I'm like, so he's living your dream life.
- And Bobby was like, correct.
- I'm a classic Bobby.
- So that's Bobby in a nutshell.
- Always one of my biggest challenges of the week was going to DMV to turn in some license plates I you're supposed to be able to drop it in the drop box.
- Of course, the little box is all jammed.
- So you can't put anything in there.
- So you have to go in line.
- And they have two security guards, who stand there and say, you cannot come in unless you have a reservation.
- And I said I need to drop this off.
- It said I could drop it in the drop box.
- You can't unless you have a reservation.
- And I said I can't make a reservation to drop off something in the drop box.
- They let me stand in the loser side of the line, which is the no reservation side of the line.
- And meanwhile, the other line has reservations.
- And they said as soon as there's nobody in the reservations line, you can go to a window.
- Every time I just about got to the front.
- A new reservations person would come in and there were other people stuck with me in this loser line and after about 20 minutes, I started getting the group agitated.
- And I said, we're never going to get there.
- These people are non stop coming in.
- And finally the security guard had heard enough of me and he said, you just go.
- Caused a ruckus.
- The tapping on the microphone is a no-go.
- Okay.
- Well, You're Darth Vader breathing into the microphone is a no go.
- I can't control my breathing, you know I'm a loud breather.
- That's amazing.
- Is that what I sound like? Oh no, and nobody told me.
- I noticed it while mom started her R and B story.
- My what story? Oh, that's what it is up here.
- It's the RMV, not the Here, it's the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
- In my theory, whenever I go, is that all the normal people in Massachusetts know a workaround to the RMV.
- Because I go and I'm the only normal person in there.
- When I went last time, some guy started screaming because he couldn't register his car because he owed 10, 000 in taxes at another state and was gonna be arrested.
- All the people there looked like a day late and 10 short, not just a dollar short.
- Do all the normal people know something I don't? Because why am I the only normal one here just trying to get my license? There was one gentleman that in Florida, if you don't turn your license plates in when you sell your car, and take the insurance off the car, insurance reports to the state and they revoke your license.
- Oh.
- They suspend it, so this older gentleman was in there and he wasn't understanding what was going on and he said, but I have the license plates in my briefcase back at the office and the woman behind the glass said, I don't really care.
- Where they are.
- not here your license is suspended and he said I'll go get them and he she said you can't go get them Because your license is suspended.
- He pretended he didn't hear and he walked out.
- Like how is he supposed to Fix the problem when his license is suspended.
- take an uber there are a lot of Oopers there.
- I lost interest in the DMV conversation Ago.
- Cause I'm literally like, staring off into space.
- When mom told me before, we need to speak faster on the podcast.
- And I think it's mom.
- I went motion.
- R T M V this week.
- And I was like, this line is never going to move.
- No, I was literally thinking that and I'm like, am I like, the point of this story is never ending.
- Can it just be over, please? Is this the roast part of the I guess already? But then it all clicked in.
- I'm like, I think you're only hearing yourself talk that slowly.
- Cause I don't really talk that slowly.
- I'm like, are you reading a, it looks like you're reading a teleprompter that's moving too slowly.
- I crack myself up.
- Should we start all over again? No, this is We're funny.
- I feel like now we're lost.
- mom's like, the plan is not going to plan! My list has been thrown out the window! You guys have to come up with stuff that you've done this week that, is of interest.
- I don't do anything.
- I just go to work and then I come home.
- Not interesting.
- Okay, I'll shut up then.
- I got a B12 shot this morning.
- I've been doing those every two weeks.
- Those have been making me feel good.
- And I saw my friends last night.
- We made candles.
- She's your life sounds horrifying.
- We have a fight of the week? Did we argue at all? No, cause I didn't talk to you.
- But I did text her hi yesterday, and for some reason when I say hi to Nally or Emma on text, they get immediately weirded out and think something's wrong.
- If you text me, Hey, what's up? How are you? I'd be like, oh, how are you? But you text me, hi.
- And I'm like, is something wrong? Like, hello? What's up? And then she just didn't respond.
- And then I facetimed her later.
- She was like, I just hadn't talked to you in a while.
- I'm like, so you text me, hey.
- I respond, then you don't respond back.
- I was in therapy.
- Oh.
- Sounds like you need it.
- I'm kidding.
- Do you learn anything good this week in therapy? I did.
- We discussed identity, Are you reading the teleprompter too? need to repeat that because just saying identity is not the right way to say it, We discussed golf and identity and how I've kind of made it my whole identity and how I Don't want it to be that because it puts too much pressure on myself.
- So finding ways to separate myself from that and find new hobbies and define myself outside of that because Say I just stopped playing golf tomorrow.
- I'm like, I wouldn't really know who I am.
- So I'm on that journey What's your hobby? What hobbies are you taking up or have you taken up? I've taken up dance so that's a nice outlet and I like cooking and baking which I've gotten into but I want to start doing other, maybe volunteer stuff, or there's a junior league in Palm Beach.
- So I want to do that, because I think I can meet other girls my age, which I would like to do.
- Yeah, I forgot I'm a woman now.
- A full woman! A whole lot of women.
- So, I'm working on that.
- Hobbies are hard.
- It's like when, in college or school, when it was like, go around and introduce yourself and a fun fact about you, and I was like, I don't have fun facts.
- I don't do much.
- My friends and I were talking about this last night I cook, watch TV, go to bed, sleep, hang out with my dog.
- I'm pretty boring, and I like being boring.
- No crocheting, no knitting, I needlepoint, but I haven't needlepointed in six months.
- And I have this backgammon board that's sitting next to the couch, in Lululemon bag, that I told Bobby I would have done a year ago.
- That has like 1, 000 worth of thread in it because I picked up the thread from the needlepoint store here in Palm She went and bought the thread for me, So I feel like I am a partial infestor in that I know.
- Get on it, get to work.
- I know.
- It just, hurts my neck, I haven't done mine either.
- I kind of forgot about it, I mean you, remember your first one you picked like the worst needle point because you picked one and it was just, the whole background was just white.
- What? So you had to do just one million white stitches I didn't even finish that and I got rid of it.
- Because it no longer applied to my life.
- took you so long to do, that it lost lost meaning.
- What else have I done this week? Nothing in this coming week I'm not doing much either besides working.
- So how about in the headlines, what's interested you in the headlines this week? I saw that, Meghan Markle is now rebranding herself.
- And within one day of rebranding her.
- Her, website that she started, she's been, somebody claims that she stole You got Are you reading off of something? Are you talking about her brand as ever? Yes.
- Yes, sued her for copyright, but that's not allowed, no, but the mayor of some town in Spain claims that she stole his trademark.
- Of what? The coat of arms from the city.
- She's selling jams, so I don't know how great this whole business venture she's going on is.
- this point, I feel bad for her cause she just tries and tries and tries It's not working.
- it doesn't work.
- You feel bad for her? In a sense, like I know you don't like her, but No, I don't.
- I feel bad for her in the sense that I think he totally screwed her over because I don't think he prepared her well for what her life was going to be and which is why it went so south.
- And I think that's fully on him, because how was she supposed to ever know? And I guess you could say he doesn't know any difference, so what was he even supposed to really say? But I think that's part of the big issue is like she thought she was getting one thing and he didn't really say differently and then it was just, So you think that she thought she was going to be a quote unquote princess living that kind of life somewhere? And that he changed how it started out, no, I that's why they left.
- was like all sunshine and roses.
- I'm going to be a princess and like I'm set for life, which I guess they still are financially, but all that sort of thing.
- And then he didn't tell her how negative and hard that life is or could be because like, she was an outsider coming in.
- She wasn't Kate Middleton, who was already seen in a good light.
- So she had a harder time.
- And she's black She wasn't welcomed into most white, yes, the oldest, most royal white family in the world is a little bit racist was like somehow shocking to people, which I is like, how are we shocked, but I don't think he prepared her well enough for that.
- I think he was just like, yeah, this is great.
- And I love you.
- And she was like, this is great.
- I'm going to be a princess.
- And he wasn't like, listen.
- My family can be really horrible or the media can be really horrible and they're going to say all these things.
- And then she moved to England and married him and it was like, wait, what, what am I doing? what do you think about all the rumors that she was very difficult? I think it's probably But anyone there is gonna be difficult.
- be difficult.
- get on it.
- Yeah they're your staff for a reason, to do things for you.
- Okay.
- But anyway, I don't know about her business ventures cause it seems like she keeps coming out with new things and nothing happens with them, I'm really sorry about my talk.
- The mayor of Spain is not happy about it.
- Doesn't the mayor of Spain have a lot bigger things to worry about? Apparently not, he's very upset about this.
- It's actually an interesting, her logo, I think is cool looking.
- So I'm like, did she just steal it from them? Or this, He said she just copied is this a case of someone she works with, or works for her, or helps her with this stuff? Gave it to her and she I don't think she went out and designed Yeah, she definitely hires a team, so that's on them her old brand was American Riviera Orchard, which is a horrible name, because I don't know what that means.
- it has something to do with her house in California.
- she fixed it.
- I'm so rich my house has a name and I'm gonna put my brand after it.
- it's just so unrelatable.
- And now I'm going to make some jam and call it after my house.
- Yeah.
- And why jam? But anyways, she has potential and I know what she's going for.
- She's trying to be like, A mini Martha or like a cooler Joanna Gaines.
- I feel like she's gearing towards more Joanna Gaines, It's also like the Toast always has this, just come out with something.
- I don't want you to announce it and then it take four months, cause I don't care.
- So just come out with something in April.
- Great, you came out with because if you go to the website as ever, it's just a picture of her in the field There's nothing to do on the website.
- They just teased something about her first product, which they're saying is jam, maybe we'll be good! the jam.
- I don't like jam, but if it's your jam, What's the difference between jam and jelly? It's like chunkier.
- Oh.
- Jelly, I think has gelatin in it.
- Oh, I'm gonna.
- I think I don't eat fruit outside of their pure forms, so I wouldn't know.
- Period.
- Emma has a phobia to fruit and it's the weirdest thing ever.
- Jam is made with crushed or chopped fruit, giving it a chunkier texture with visible fruit pieces, while jelly is made from fruit juice, resulting in a clear, smooth, and firmer spread with no visible fruit particles.
- Jam seems like it's more of a fresh situation.
- Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni update.
- We have to talk about it.
- Because she amended her claim and she apparently has two other women that are willing to come forward Bye, bye, bye.
- This kind of changes things because last time we talked about it we were all kind of, Well, maybe Justin wasn't you were.
- I was not.
- About what? were always Team No, I have always been team Blake because he rubs me the wrong way.
- greasy slime ball.
- repulsed.
- And he has a podcast about feminism.
- Sorry, you're a Not anymore.
- podcast co host quit right when this all happened.
- Yeah.
- We'll see.
- I think it's interesting, and I'd really like to know who the two women are, because there's not that many other women in the film.
- There can only, it can only be so many Could be an extra.
- Everything he accuses her of.
- None of it's illegal.
- And it's not illegal to be a B I T C H like, okay.
- So you're tough to work with if what she's saying about him is true, which is that he's like sexually assaulted her and made her feel unsafe.
- I thought it was sexual harassment, Sexual And, I don't know if this is correct.
- he's her superior on the movie as the producer.
- to sue.
- the book I'm reading was talking about sexual harassment and it really is like an individualized situation because if he does something that you feel uncomfortable, then it's sexual harassment.
- So it's not like there's like a clear cut law of, if he's her superior, which he is Exactly.
- And his best friend is the owner of the company.
- Their business partner.
- So he was really holding all the cards.
- So I think both things can be true.
- That she is very difficult and tried to take over the movie.
- And that he is not on the open up.
- After reading some of the texts that he posted that she sent, it's clear that she was pushing, pushing until she could take over the editing process.
- why is that illegal? It's not illegal.
- He's trying to ruin her image, she's making these claims because he pushed back against all these things that she wanted to do.
- She was so difficult.
- I don't know why she would do this if she really didn't think she had a claim, but she does have unlimited funds to do this.
- And I don't know why he would push back so much unless he felt he definitely had a case.
- So no, that, the theory with him is that he actually, she doesn't need money.
- He needs money.
- Yeah, he does well, and this is great for his career, but it also is the end of his career if it doesn't go his way.
- She's a little bit untouchable because of her and her husband and okay so she doesn't work for a little bit like she'll be totally fine him it could be like this was his first big thing in hollywood he had done like small stuff so if this is what he goes out on it's the end for him versus she doesn't really need to sue him he has to defend himself because otherwise he's screwed.
- Because, the rental, they have, what, hundreds of millions of dollars, and other companies too they're completely fine.
- I saw that Colleen Hoover, who is the author of the book on which the movie is based, took down some posts she had made on Blake Lively's behalf, deleted that photo from her Instagram.
- It's unclear whether now she just doesn't want to be involved in it, which I wouldn't blame her, or whether she is somehow not backing Blake up anymore.
- She got hate because her son was accused of, I forget, sexual assault or sexual harassment, one of the two, so everyone was coming at her because, Of that, but she also has a bunch of other movies that are in production or going to be, so she probably has to separate herself.
- I thought he bought the rights to the next Yeah, but she has hundreds of books that people would want to make movies I don't think they could make a second one now because how do you? I won't even watch the first one.
- It's actually good, I feel like I need to watch it just in the context of everything going on, It's crazy because in the movie like, spoiler alert, he's an abuser mentally and physically.
- That's the whole thing.
- So it's like ironic that in now he's being accused of being an abuser in real life.
- I just think some of the text should look like he's trying to placate her and don't make him look like the bad guy, but That was just some of the things that I've seen published But I agree with you.
- There's some doubt there The other thing that's come up is bachelor nation They've canceled The Bachelorette for the summer, and they've laid off 200 people, and now there's reports of a toxic work environment, even though they're finishing whatever's left of The Bachelor.
- And then they have Bachelor in Paradise.
- work environment, Yes, that the producers, there's two producers that are alleged to be.
- Total jerks, I guess that they are hostile and that Nobody wants to work there.
- And I don't know it just it's only come out after everybody was laid off.
- this is one, not shocking okay, producers of reality TV are toxic, of course they are, they're like, manipulating and creating storylines that they want to be told.
- Two, it's Okay, they're hostile and hard to work with.
- Like, welcome to the real world.
- There's people like that everywhere.
- That's my thing, is it's become like, unless they give me some proof or something that they actually, that's really illegal or actually not okay to do in the workplace, but just because someone's mean and harsh and hard to be around does not mean they did anything wrong to me.
- It's like the whole Ellen DeGeneres thing.
- I'm sure maybe she did things that were actually not okay, I don't know.
- But, it's not illegal again to be rude, or to be a hard ass.
- The public doesn't like it if you portray yourself in a certain light, and then they find out something differently.
- They wanted to believe that Ellen was super nice, like she showed on her television show, and then when things started coming out that said she wasn't, people don't like They feel betrayed.
- They feel betrayed, and nobody has any allegiance to these producers.
- I also think this show is just horrible and has not it needs to leave.
- they need to either revamp it or say adios amigos.
- You can't have a show like Love Island where they are airing an episode every night and it's based on 10 couples and they all are dating each other and then you try to air The Bachelor and it's eight months later than when it was filmed so everyone already knows what's happened because everything gets leaked on social media they can't swear everything is so like PG but that's what makes Love Island good, is it's just chaos that people love to watch every single night, versus The Badger, it's let me watch a two hour show of absolute nothingness every seven days.
- That would actually be a good change if they did it.
- Because it's, they have to edit it too much, probably, but like why can't they do it But Love Island can do it! I know.
- Many commercials in it.
- Because if you watch it without commercials, it's half the time.
- It's the same group dates.
- It's the same drama with the one mean girl.
- That says things to him about the other girls and he gets mad plus, I just don't find him particularly interesting.
- I don't has anything None of the bachelors are ever interesting.
- Hey, I liked, the last Bachelor, Oh, Joey.
- He was popular, I thought he was a cool guy.
- I didn't watch his season, but on Dancing with the Stars I watched him and I fell in love.
- So if there's anyone like Joey out there, hit me up.
- that's funny.
- And, we did watch Traitors you watched the first episode of the season.
- Out are there? seven.
- Oh mom, we gotta catch up.
- It's a very interesting show, I love it.
- We watch it every week.
- We've only watched one episode of season three, but they go to Scotland and it's other reality TV stars from different shows that are put at this one mansion with Alan Cummings and he is in charge of the entire game that they're playing, correct? it basically it's all the reality stars and I think it's probably 20 people maybe to start and the first episode Alan Cummings chooses two traitors Three Three.
- within the group.
- It says, you guys are now traitors, but no one else knows who the traitors are.
- so there's faithfuls and traitors.
- And every night there's a roundtable where they all have to vote on one person being kicked out.
- And when the person gets kicked out, They announce whether they were a faithful or a traitor and you want to get all the traitors out of the game because at the end, if there's any traitors left, they can take all the prize money just for themselves or if there's two traitors left.
- And then every night also the traitors gather in secret and kill someone.
- And so then the next morning there's like a breakfast and so every Episode at least two people leave the game and then there's also challenges that are like a little bit physical I guess some of them are also more like knowledge based where they can add money to their prize fund I don't it doesn't feel like a lot of them care about the money as much as just like being on the show and winning but it's really good because you know who the traitors are but they don't and so sometimes it's like You're yelling at the TV because how did they not see that? This person is blatantly Showing themselves as a traitor and they literally have no idea and they vote out the most wrong people based on like She breathed weird last night and it's oh, that's the reasoning we're going with today But it's a really good show.
- Do they pay them to go on, you think? I would assume you get paid.
- Because like why else would the housewives be on there? You definitely I would assume you get paid like per episode I would think so.
- I don't know how the Bachelor contestants get no.
- No, The bachelor or bachelorette.
- Oh, really? but these people are already famous, so That's true.
- They come out Thursdays on Peacock, and Bobby and I have not been able to sit down and watch it yet, and he is gone until later tonight, and I've very faithfully, as a faithful would, Not watched the show literally today I was talking to him on the phone this morning And I was like I haven't watched any of our shows because there's four different reality TV episodes that have come out that we need To watch and I go I know you wouldn't do the same if I went away He would have watched all the TV shows and he was like you are correct.
- You were nicer than me Yeah, that's a loyalty test.
- I know he gets really bad about it because he also likes to always have TV on his phone Like he's like an iPad kid.
- I joke the kids that are always just on their iPads So he'll be sitting at his desk doing work with a show on his phone, like an iPad kid, He would do that if I'm driving somewhere and Emma's in the front seat, Bobby sits in the back and watches like Jersey Shore He loves Jersey Shore.
- We're driving 20 minutes somewhere, he's watching Jersey Shore in the Such a Jersey Shore kind of guy know, we'll have a football game on or like a hockey game and then he'll watch Jersey Shore on his phone too.
- And then I start to get really overstimulated with all the sounds and I like have a panic attack and I'm like, SHUT UP FOR SOMETHING! THERE'S TOO MANY NOISES! Oh, Skamanda.
- It was originally a podcast and now it's this documentary based on the podcast.
- And it's about a woman who faked having cancer for like years and become became someone at the time while she claimed she had cancer.
- Like a nationwide known cancer patient who people donated a lot of money to and famous people were like trying to help her.
- And she was like very religious and famous in her One of those like big, what are the churches called that are huge? I forget what the name is for them in California.
- so I started watching that because I was enthralled with the podcast.
- Probably a year and a half ago I was listening to the podcast.
- the story kind of starts out, or at least on the podcast it did on the episode, they don't do it until the second episode, where she met her now husband.
- Because she was the nanny for the family or like the helper because their daughter actually or his daughter and his ex wife's daughter actually had cancer and she came into the house as like this college girl who was athletic and did dance classes and they were like we need something to cheer up our daughter who's recovering from cancer and that's how she met the dad They ended up getting married and it's very crazy.
- thought she was the nanny for the sister.
- No, they brought her in because the wife's ex wife's sister was like I worked out at a gym and I knew Amanda because she was like this young vibrant college girl who was really athletic and taught workout classes and dance classes and so they brought her in because the Daughter who had cancer at the time couldn't go anywhere because she couldn't get sick.
- so she slowly I think became like a nanny to the family, but yeah.
- So it's wild.
- I haven't finished it and I think there's still, I don't know how many episodes there are in it because it said like they come out every Thursday.
- And I've watched, I think there were three out this week, maybe four out now.
- I think I've watched four, but I listened to the original podcast and at the end of the last podcast they updated it in current time.
- She was still, I think she was out of jail and, was perpetrating another fraud.
- I guess if someone around you God forbid, tells you they have cancer, you're going to believe them and not question them.
- But as an outsider looking in, one, knowing it's fake, it's easy to pick the holes in it, but it is crazy how people believed her lies, that she was having a baby while she had cancer and then her pregnancies were reversing the cancer in her body.
- The disbelief is that she would say that she was going to die.
- Then she had a miracle.
- Now she's sick again.
- Now she needs this treatment.
- Now she's back and she looked the same.
- She did shave her head at one point.
- And the fact that she did it for so long is incredible.
- her husband know? That's a question.
- Yeah, they don't Like, did he have money? Or did, was she like, bringing in the they filed for bankruptcy at some so he had to have known something.
- I Right, because did no, was she going to doctors? claimed she was.
- She claimed she was, but then she would go to different emergency rooms with these other fake ailments and that's where she would take these pictures Oh, like to Because she got really famous when she first got diagnosed with cancer, she claimed, like when she first claimed she had cancer, she started a blog.
- And it was in like 2010, maybe 2012, so like before social media was super accessible and big, she started a blog where she would post In depth, detailed updates of her diagnosis, her treatments, like, where she was, and that's how she would post pictures.
- And I think a lot of them were taken off the internet, but yeah, she would go to, different emergency rooms and have herself admitted for something.
- So she could take a picture of, an IV in her arm, I'm gonna have They actually have videos that she had from church where she was making pleas for additional money.
- And then some interviews she did at some point and she's very convincing, except as her stepdaughter said who had had cancer, she never looked sick.
- Yeah, you lose weight and stuff.
- She said she never looked sick and that's why she was suspicious, but she also took the ex wife to court with her husband and they took custody of the daughter.
- They made up all this stuff about his first wife, Yeah, it's it's even worse than just making up that she was sick.
- There's also this new show on netflix That I need to start that's based off of it's you know how they did it for anna delvey It's not a documentary.
- It's an actual recreation with like actors and actresses about a girl in It's called Apple Cider Vinegar, the show, because it's about a girl, like an influencer in Australia who claimed she had brain cancer and cured it by being like super, super, super clean and healthy with everything she put in her body and went super viral, and then I, that's all I know, because I haven't watched the show or looked her up, but that's supposed to be really good too.
- I'm going to watch that because that looks like the same vibe, but more dramatized because it's not a documentary.
- We were gonna talk about skin care, Maisie and I were just saying how, she wants to focus more on her skin care Yeah, because As I'm doing my simple skincare routine, which I use retin a and my prescriptions and stuff, but as I'm turning 24 this year, I feel like I need to step up my game.
- are I think you do a good job with it.
- You're very that anti aging stuff, like for my neck.
- I worry about it, because I'm in the sun so much, I want that glowy, tight skin.
- I think that you can't start too early.
- Although, I guess girls now are starting at, Twelve.
- no that's not good.
- I think I need to An eye cream? No, they don't really do much unless you get like a really expensive one.
- they're almost just like moisturizer repackaged into an eye cream.
- never used an eye cream because I would get it and it never seemed like it did anything.
- So I don't know if that's misguided The only thing I use on my eyes is the Ordinary, which is that very affordable skincare brand.
- they have a caffeine serum and I use that under my eyes because I tend to get puffy and like dark circles and that really helps in the mornings, I put it in the fridge.
- But otherwise I don't think you really need an eye cream if you just put your moisturizer around your eyes, you're fine.
- there is one called Neocutis, N E O C U T I S.
- That's 95 though, for the little thing of eye cream, which I'm unless you have I don't have any wrinkles around my eyes yet, because I don't think I'm in the sun enough and I take good care of my skin.
- But I think if you started to get wrinkles, Nat uses it.
- Not saying she has wrinkles around her eyes, but I know she uses it and she's likes it.
- I have still so much like baby fat in my cheeks that it like helps protect all that stuff.
- But wrinkles are genetic and sun created.
- So a cream isn't going to change whether you get wrinkles or not.
- Really? That's just my opinion.
- But you can never go wrong by spending money on your skin.
- Because everybody sees that every time you go out of the house.
- Versus buying another outfit.
- I Oh, you can add an outfit, too.
- I have a 95 step morning skincare routine Yes, you have like a hundred products and I feel, maybe when you come down, you can give me some suggestions.
- I definitely think I need to add like a vitamin C.
- That's really important to add.
- That's like the best thing you can do When you're in the sun so much, it basically makes your sunscreen work better, too.
- And a retinol at night.
- Use tretinoin, retinol, it's like a combo.
- the other thing that I've added in in the past probably like a year that I swear by is a hypochlorous acid spray, which you can literally get off of Amazon.
- And I spray my face with it after I wash in the morning and at night, and it kills any like germs or bacteria, so it's really good for acne.
- I swear by it.
- And I send all my friends it when they ask me for skincare recs.
- you guys are way ahead of the game because I think I don't know how old I was when I started using any kind of skincare products.
- There weren't a lot out until say 20 years ago, I don't think I used anything but Cetaphil to wash my face and maybe a moisturizer like Neutrogena.
- And I also learned a lot about my skin because I had horrifying acne like three years ago and had to go on Accutane.
- And when I was on Accutane, I used two products cause your skin's so dry and sensitive, but now I'm really into skincare.
- So I've tried different things and enjoy it and like my skin to look like it's Glowy and dewy It looks like you have, a sticker on your forehead cause it's reflecting off the light.
- Is that the look now? The glowy? Because it used to be everybody wanted matte.
- I went to the old bags luncheon this week on Palm Beach, which is 500 women attend this luncheon that benefits a family mental health center in West Palm Beach.
- And everybody is dressed to the nines and you get to see some beautiful outfits there are beautiful, beautiful women, beautiful dresses, but it's just it ran the gamut of people that have had a lot of stuff done to not a lot of stuff.
- So it's an interesting sociological experiment, You can do a lot of stuff, but make it look natural.
- That's also the trend now.
- I feel like three years ago it was like everyone was getting filler in their face and doing all this Yeah, and the lip filler.
- of been peeled back to look much more natural as like the trend.
- Not that you should be like altering your face based on a trend, but there were some people that had I've been doing plastic surgery for a long time, and I think that sometimes people can get addicted to it, and it's clear that they probably had done it too much.
- But I think in general, it's a much more natural look.
- And I also think what's interesting is, at these events you used to go to, everybody was trying to be super skinny emaciated model looking, and that seems to be out, because you don't really see, everybody looked.
- Really good.
- Fit.
- Healthy.
- like having muscle and working out weightlifting Strong versus scrawny.
- I think that's better.
- For sure.
- Maisie, I heard you bought another pair of bow jeans this week.
- Well, yeah, I did, you already I thought they were cheap off Zara, and they looked good on me, so I'm keeping them.
- artist you are.
- And how about the barrel jeans? Emma has not approved Maisie, Have her show you the videos that she sent hasn't even showed me the barrel Her butt looks like it's been, photoshopped.
- It's so flat.
- It looks fake.
- She sent me a video in the front, so I'm like, okay, and then she turns to the side and I'm like, But do you like them? a plank.
- Why do you need barrel jeans? feel like, cause I need to be hip, trendy, But you can be trendy in better ways.
- Honestly, if you try too hard to be young and hip, it's gonna backfire and go the opposite way.
- So I'm still not invited to the bachelorette party, right? I never said you weren't invited and then you called me and said your friends told you you weren't allowed to go.
- My friend, Lori, when I was discussing it with her, she said, you're the mom.
- You're not allowed to go.
- You can't go.
- You're not invited.
- one of the activities I really want to do is like dune buggying.
- So you go like through mud and stuff in the caged in like buggies and you wear like helmets.
- Oh.
- called.
- saying, you're saying Mommy, you won't even go on a roller coaster because of your neck.
- I know Nat won't like that either so her She's done it in Mexico.
- She told me she's down.
- Is it safe? I don't know why I You definitely have to sign some waiver I'm a good driver.
- Oh boy.
- You're actually not a good driver.
- Do you want to really go into this conversation? Why isn't she a good driver? She almost killed me when I was like 12, Okay, well And I'll into a parking spot to save your life Yeah, but I'm not moving Also, I couldn't have killed you when you were 12 because I didn't get my license till I was 18 You know exactly what I'm talking about when that car Okay, okay, okay.
- onto the grass.
- Do you remember that? Coming back from West going against the code of sisterhood right now.
- Like, beyond.
- again, coming back from where? you and I have promised we were never going to tell this story, and then you tell it in front of mom.
- It was almost like 10 years ago.
- Yeah at least I've never hit a parked car.
- You've done it.
- I think twice.
- No, once.
- Someone else hit me while I was parked.
- Oh.
- That's the story at least.
- we're not talking about that because that was actually a bad day in my life.
- At Blaze Pizza.
- Oh, yeah.
- out my shelves in the garage here.
- I actually was telling this story at work the other night, at work cocktails about how I backed over a paint can, and that was after I took out mom's shells when we were bickering.
- Three years ago, Maisie and I we were coming home from somewhere and I was driving mom's car in Florida and I pull in the garage and she's in the passenger seat, Maisie is, and we're bickering about something, like full on sister fight, and I thought I put the car in park, but like I didn't, so I take my foot off the brake till I get out of the car and the car just keeps rolling forward into mom's Like the shelves that had been there when they bought the house, but probably since when the house was built in like the 80s, they were like, to my credit, they were very flimsy.
- I will agree.
- the car just knocked them.
- Dominoes falling like a tower of Jenga like slow motion and I'm like, oh my god.
- Oh my god Oh my god And Maisie's hysterically laughing taking snapchat videos of me Trying to put the stuff back on the shelves, but the shelves were just completely collapsed and then mom's inside Talking to Natalie on the phone while Maisie's sending Natalie Snapchat to me and so Natalie's on the phone being like, oh my god Wait till they come in the house to mom because she Already knew that I had taken out all the shelves in the garage.
- But I still stand by that I helped mom because she got brand new shelves because of it.
- That are now much nicer looking.
- Yes, it was just, it was disappointing because all the stuff was off the shelves, so I had to take all the stuff out, out of the garage, take the old shelves down, get new ones, so it was quite a job.
- then I got it done, And then I, over a year ago only mom and I were home at the time, and mom had a broken ankle, so she was on like one of those scooter things that you put your knee on, and you scoot around the house, which will be important later on the story.
- And I was like, oh, I'm gonna go get us lunch, pick us up lunch from this French place we love, like so exciting.
- It's really hot out also that day, but I was like, okay, great.
- Gonna go get us some lunch.
- I go to pot of the garage and like mom's car has that automatic start.
- So when you put the car in reverse, it doesn't just start rolling.
- You have to kind of kick the gas a little.
- So I kicked the gas and I hear like pop and I'm like, Oh, I probably hit a box because she always has 1 million boxes in the garage.
- And I turned to the right to look what I may have hit.
- And there is.
- Black black as night paint everywhere haha, not like spilled, like Jackson Pollock splatter painted across all of the garage, all of the driveway, the windows, the plants in the driveway it went to places that you didn't even know existed, this paint.
- And so I don't even know what to do, so I get out of the car, and I go in, and mom thought I killed someone, because my face was, like, And she was like, what's wrong? What's wrong? And I'm like, I hit a paint can and everyone we told thought I like bumped it and it like tipped over and they were like, Oh, just scoop up the paint.
- And mom and I were like, no, you don't understand.
- It's the thinnest, most fine layer of what Benjamin Moore would call pitch black paint everywhere.
- And mom's on a scooter and she's just standing in the doorway of the garage yelling at me the dumbest directions on planet earth The car has black paint all over it.
- And she's like, we gotta get the car out of the garage but I don't want the black paint on the driveway.
- I think you should build tracks down the driveway.
- By cutting up boxes and making train tracks to drive the car on.
- And I was like, I'm sorry mom, that's the dumbest idea I've ever heard and that's never gonna work.
- And so I just backed the car out and was like, we're gonna have to deal with the damage on the driveway after.
- But it was bad.
- was, I have to say, when I opened the door, I was totally speechless.
- And then of course, being the control freak I am, I couldn't get out there and help because I was on the scooter.
- So I got to yell directions at Emma who got the power washer out I got the power wash washing the start on power washing the driveway until someone can come over that actually has a Industrial size power washer because this power washer was like one millimeter wide so I was like Across a hundred square feet of a driveway and I looked behind me and if the Sun is just beating on my back And mum's just mum's sitting on her scooter that she has in the middle of the driveway going it's really hot out here and I'm like you don't have to be out here go inside and stop staring at me and you should just order our lunch for delivery and then I was like you have to go pick up dad and tell him and mom always plays pranks on my dad like You, the one with the like rat possum in the attic that you, yeah.
- poor, he comes home all the time to Florida from a long week of work and she tells him something's really wrong with the house and he gets all stressed.
- And so we were like, he's not gonna believe that we did this.
- he literally thought she was playing a prank on him and he was like, ha ha.
- And then he pulls up in the driveway.
- And just started laughing because it was the most absurd thing ever.
- There was just black paint everywhere.
- And then the black paint got all over the garage door so yeah, I don't have good karma or good relationship with the garage in then, you got mad at me because I was calling my handyman because he was the one that left the black paint can behind the wheel of the car.
- So that when it squished, it went off like a bomb over everything.
- And then I was calling my handyman to try to come and help me.
- I was saying it was an emergency and you were saying it's not an emergency.
- I HAVE AN EMERGENCY AT THE HOUSE! And I'm like, no one's dead so it's not an emergency.
- It felt like an emergency at that moment.
- I don't know why my Maisie had to bring up driving records, but mine in the garage is not great, but that's okay.
- You can park I'm a really good parker.
- Yeah.
- Me, I'm like, No, literally we'll be in Florida and it's like There's two spaces open next to each other.
- I don't know if I can get in there.
- And I'm like, it's wide open.
- What do you mean? and then usually if it's two spaces next to each other and it's wide open, I pull in and then I literally have to readjust because I'm over the lines.
- Yeah, no.
- But that's okay.
- We all have our strengths.
- Agreed.
- So what are we going to do when you come to Florida this time, Em? Wedding planning? I think we need to, do some vendor visits for the things we're gonna rent.
- Maybe I'll take Bobby to see the actual venue.
- We're gonna go see where we might do the welcome party.
- have spots picked out for that? And then I need to finalize my registry, which is hard because Bobby and I already live together.
- So we have a lot of stuff, And where are the save the dates? That's in Bobby's court because he has to collect all of his friends addresses.
- That sounds like tough luck there.
- none of his friends are getting ha.
- Macy's, you have to do a task as one of my maids of honor.
- You haven't had anything yet.
- You said you're going to step up this year.
- But what am I supposed to step up to do at this current time I don't know, maybe you should ask me if I need help with anything.
- Do you need help with anything? No.
- I was looking up themes for your bachelorette, and I feel like it should be something that's not, often done, but that doesn't seem possible.
- Like what? I like the western type theme because we're going to Park City, but maybe it should be almost like a Not like a ski chalet theme, but maybe that but it's in the summer Yeah.
- Boots and beers.
- Cause it's a lot of people do like Last Rodeo, but it's not, We're not like, rodeoing.
- That's what I'm saying, it's almost like an outdoorsy type situation.
- Like Kesha's outfit from the Timber video.
- Mom, I don't even know what you're talking about.
- The Timber video that came out in 2008? I'm confused.
- You know Pitbull just had to talk about Pitbull.
- episode, we're three for three probably, and mom talking about Pitbull on I think we are.
- valid.
- We're going to a cool restaurant tonight, and I don't know what I'm gonna wear, so I got so many new pairs of pants, yet I have none of them yet, so I've gotten some Fire Flames jeans, so my jean wardrobe is Kickin Veronica Beard, I want two pairs of Veronica Beer jeans.
- Mom is super generous with buying me jeans, because she's, like You have a hard time buying jeans I feel like I low key get screwed because I'm good at shopping, so mom doesn't feel bad for me.
- No, but I have to get every pair of jeans I buy altered.
- guess you also have negative dollars, so you need her help.
- I don't have negative Well you don't like how would you have money right now? I have money.
- I don't know, from where? I got two banks.
- Two banks.
- Remember that song? Two phones.
- I got, that's what I was thinking, I got two phones, but I got two banks.
- I do too.
- I have money on one that's for my athletics, so I can't spend that, I only spend that on Athletics.
- athletics.
- any updates in the dating game? Maisie? There is not.
- I feel like there is, you're just holding back.
- No! I'm not.
- I did decide that I'm deleting my profession from my dating profiles Mm hmm.
- because So what are you gonna what are you gonna a lot of people, don't put their job on there, but at first I was like, Oh, this is cool.
- People are gonna it may attract the right type of person, but now I'm just annoyed when I play golf all day, say, and then I go on there and it's Oh, you play golf? That's so cool.
- Oh, let's play golf.
- Let's play golf.
- Let's play golf.
- No.
- So I'm gonna you date someone that's never played golf before? Yeah, as long as they're, interesting otherwise.
- Yeah, like I remember when before she met Justin, she was like, she always, wanted to date someone that played golf.
- Cause she loves to do it, and so I don't know if you had that.
- Or if you don't really care.
- I like it.
- But, I have plenty of other people to play golf with.
- And my problem is, I think a lot of people like, on their days off, as their hobby, they like to go play golf.
- But on my days off, You like what I want to do.
- That's what I did today, and I was so happy.
- You should start posting like all your food more.
- I don't know why you don't do that.
- I really want to Do more with my social media, but I don't really know what to do or like what content to really post.
- So then I just don't You just have to post more.
- I need guidance.
- I tried to be an influencer for two months, it's a lot of work.
- It is a lot of work and It's like with golf a lot of golf influencers it's hard to be both be a professional golfer and also be an influencer in golf.
- I feel like you have to choose or sacrifice a part of one.
- So that's why I haven't really tried to influence in I feel like it doesn't matter.
- Because it's like you're really trying to dial in and focus in your practice so you can prepare your best for events and then you're filming some silly video in between.
- I But it doesn't have to be a silly video.
- It could be just your life.
- I think that most of those influencers post things about what they're eating, what they're doing.
- Yeah, like day in my life.
- Maybe I should do that.
- Should I just start doing Day in the Life? Yes, I think that's what Yeah, and just film everything tell you to do.
- But Anybody I follow that I'm really interested in, they post a lot.
- I know that because that's how you gain followers.
- But, I just want to be different than all the same.
- Come play a hole with I don't think you have to think about being different.
- I think you just need to be yourself.
- Because that's the only way it's gonna be, have longevity.
- And people are gonna like it versus trying to be too creative and overthink it.
- I think if you just start posting things, it'll be good versus being like, Oh, this isn't gonna resonate well, so I'm not gonna post it.
- People don't really care about you being super different.
- They just wanna watch people like them that they're interested in.
- yeah, that's true.
- And see consistent things.
- Alright, what do we have coming up this week, play pickleball tomorrow with Bobby because I have a new pickleball racket.
- And he actually tried to take it the other day and I haven't used it yet and was like I'm gonna he wanted to use it because he got it for me for Christmas and I was like you can't use it I haven't used it yet and we literally were bickering like Maisie and I would bicker and I was like you're not taking it and he was like I'm taking it and I was like you're not taking it and I like grabbed out of his hand and ran and put it in my closet and was like you can't go in there and take my pickleball racket that I haven't gotten to use yet.
- I think he said he, bought you a racket because he wanted to have it.
- He just bought a new racket for himself right before Christmas so I don't know why he needs a new racket I don't know.
- so I'm playing pickleball and then I'm working, and am I caddying for you this week, Maisie? Or no? Oh, I'm not? I'm fired? You're not fired, you're just not caddying.
- hired? Can't be fired if you were never hired.
- Who's caddying for you Okay.
- Oh, where are you Ooh.
- I'm back to spectator I was advised to schlep it on my own.
- Oh, by whom? My coach.
- Oh, really? I have some choice words for your coach.
- Hehehe.
- Let me get him on the phone.
- Sounds good, Mace.
- And then we get to have you down here for a weekend, I know.
- So that's Literally ma then I won't be here Okay, I can't schedule your life around Because you're going to Gainesville.
- Why can't you come the next weekend? I have plans with my friends.
- On Thursday, we're going to Vinny's All Day Cafe, That can be our first food social media post.
- Mom, what time do we have to leave for dinner? 15 probably.
- So be ready for some text, Emma, with what we're going to wear.
- Wonderful.
- literally like 20 minutes from now.
- I haven't even dried my hair.
- I know, we need to go.
- And it's a picturesque location.
- never on time for anything, honestly, neither of you are.
- Both of have to be on mom's like never Never.
- And she'll never admit it.
- Yeah, she gets so offended! It's so true! literally never Dad's always on time, Dad's always early, and you're always For what? What am I not on time everything.
- appointment, I go to tons of appointments and I'm on time.
- You're like Bobby where you're like, Oh, I'm getting you at the airport.
- I'll be there in 10.
- And I look at Life 316 she hasn't even left the house.
- She's not going to be at the airport in 10 minutes.
- Never get picked up by mom because it won't be on time.
- on that note, I better go get ready so I'm on time.
- Yeah.
- You can tell Dad we gave him a You're always ready, but when you leave the house, it's never on time.
- No until COVID, Dad would literally be waiting at the pickup spot.
- He would park and come in the airport to Yeah.
- I think that's because he would get there so early.
- We're gonna get charged 100 a person if we're not there on time, so we gotta go.
- not true.
- Good luck! Is it really? See y'all next week.
