- 0:18Speaker 2: His Hop Radio.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Rotten lives of the headquarters club.
- 0:33Speaker 2: His house. Las Vegas.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Looks like you lost another one.
- 0:56Speaker 2: What up, what up, what up, what up, family? Hey,
- 0:58Speaker 2: what's going on? Welcome to another episode of the His
- 1:01Speaker 2: Hop Radio podcast. And we are presenting to you verse
- 1:04Speaker 2: by verse where we get into God's word one verse
- 1:09Speaker 2: at a time. Now, this is episode 59. And today
- 1:12Speaker 2: we're moving into chapter 23. We praise God for a
- 1:18Speaker 2: whole new chapter today. And we're going to tackle the
- 1:22Speaker 2: first eight verses today. Now, Jeremiah 22 showed us that
- 1:26Speaker 2: God was confronting corrupt leadership. He was confronting a corrupt king. Now,
- 1:34Speaker 2: chapter 23 begins with another powerful warning. But this time,
- 1:38Speaker 2: God specifically addresses the shepherds who were responsible for his
- 1:44Speaker 2: people directly. So this is a good one. Remember, God is.
- 1:51Speaker 2: is a righteous judge. God is going to evaluate our lives.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And so we have to make it a priority to
- 2:02Speaker 2: walk down the path of righteousness. The Bible tells us
- 2:07Speaker 2: that the pathway to life is narrow and only a
- 2:12Speaker 2: few will find it. And so that means there are
- 2:15Speaker 2: going to be a lot of people who go down
- 2:19Speaker 2: The broad road of destruction, which is tragic. But that
- 2:24Speaker 2: is the purpose of this podcast. We are trying to
- 2:26Speaker 2: get as many people to come with us to walk
- 2:30Speaker 2: this path of life as we examine God's word and
- 2:34Speaker 2: as we apply it. And as we hold each other accountable,
- 2:38Speaker 2: it's good to have some faithful people in your life,
- 2:44Speaker 2: some faithful friends that can pray for you, that can
- 2:47Speaker 2: help you. Stay on that right path. And that is
- 2:52Speaker 2: what you got in the His Hot Radio podcast, verse
- 2:55Speaker 2: by verse. And what we want you to do is
- 2:59Speaker 2: download the His Hot Radio app, H-I-S-H-O-P on all platforms.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Once you download it, go to the top left menu,
- 3:09Speaker 2: get that drop down, click on live chat and click register.
- 3:14Speaker 2: And it's very easy. Doesn't take long at all. Just
- 3:17Speaker 2: type in your username, email address and password. And we'll
- 3:23Speaker 2: say welcome to the family. And while you're there, join
- 3:30Speaker 2: our community. Just scroll down a little further in that
- 3:33Speaker 2: same area. Click on the community and get registered in
- 3:38Speaker 2: that one as well. And I believe you have to
- 3:40Speaker 2: confirm your email address when you register that one. And
- 3:45Speaker 2: in the community, we can do just a little more
- 3:46Speaker 2: than what we can do in the live chat. We
- 3:48Speaker 2: can post our links and pics and videos. And, you know,
- 3:53Speaker 2: it's more of a social media environment. And that's what
- 3:57Speaker 2: we want. We want to grow our online community because
- 4:02Speaker 2: we believe in discipleship. We believe in helping each other grow.
- 4:06Speaker 2: And we just want to have fun. Right. We want
- 4:09Speaker 2: to do our trivia and our games and we want
- 4:11Speaker 2: to get creative as we are pursuing God and pursuing
- 4:16Speaker 2: his word together. So get signed up, beloved. Let's pray
- 4:23Speaker 2: and we will dive right into it. Heavenly Father, thank you,
- 4:26Speaker 2: Father God, for another day. You allowed us to wake up.
- 4:30Speaker 2: You allowed us to be here today. Help us to
- 4:33Speaker 2: put you first, oh God. Help us, Lord, to gain insight,
- 4:37Speaker 2: gain understanding, oh God, when it comes to your word,
- 4:40Speaker 2: when it comes to the book of Jeremiah. Those of
- 4:44Speaker 2: us who have a calling in our lives, oh God,
- 4:45Speaker 2: help us to fulfill our call. Open up doors, Father God,
- 4:50Speaker 2: that only you can open, oh God. And close every door,
- 4:53Speaker 2: oh God, that the enemy tries to, oh God, oh Lord,
- 4:56Speaker 2: trick us with, oh God. Yes, Lord. We ask, Father God,
- 5:01Speaker 2: oh Lord, that you bless the hearer today, Father. Bless me,
- 5:04Speaker 2: oh God, to speak your word and only your word
- 5:07Speaker 2: and speak faithfully, oh God. And we ask this in
- 5:10Speaker 2: Jesus' name.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Amen.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Amen. All right.
- 5:17Speaker 2: All right, let's get into it. Jeremiah chapter 23. And
- 5:24Speaker 2: we're going to start with verse one. Woe to the
- 5:31Speaker 2: shepherds who destroy and scatter sheep of my pasture, says
- 5:39Speaker 2: the Lord. Now, that is a very strong opening and
- 5:45Speaker 2: it starts with. A warning will be unto the pastors. Now,
- 5:51Speaker 2: the word pastor here carries the idea of shepherds. These
- 5:57Speaker 2: are those who are responsible for leading God's people. And
- 6:03Speaker 2: God says these shepherds are destroying and scattering his sheep.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Does that sound familiar? Does that sound like what is
- 6:13Speaker 2: happening today?
- 6:15Speaker 5: Today.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And this is very serious for the simple fact that
- 6:24Speaker 2: for one, the people belong to God. A lot of
- 6:29Speaker 2: pastors think that the church belongs to them and the
- 6:34Speaker 2: people in the church belong to them. So notice he
- 6:40Speaker 2: didn't say your sheep. He calls them the sheep of
- 6:44Speaker 2: my pasture. So the people ultimately belong to God. And
- 6:52Speaker 2: the more we realize it, the more we should be
- 6:55Speaker 2: humble and know that we are only stewards of what
- 7:00Speaker 2: God has placed in our hands. Also, that should change
- 7:06Speaker 2: how we think about leadership as well. If God puts
- 7:09Speaker 2: people under your care, they are not your property. That
- 7:19Speaker 2: makes me think of that group from years ago, God's Property.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Who was that? Yeah, I believe that was Kurt, right?
- 7:35Speaker 2: But they're God's people. And that applies to pastor. It
- 7:39Speaker 2: applies to parents, to ministry leaders, to mentors. It applies
- 7:45Speaker 2: to anybody interested with ministry. I mean, anybody entrusted with influence, right?
- 7:51Speaker 2: Leadership isn't ownership. Leadership is stewardship. You are responsible for
- 7:58Speaker 2: how you handle what God has placed in your hands.
- 8:04Speaker 2: You can either be abusive or you can be faithful
- 8:09Speaker 2: unto the Lord. Now, the people who tend to abuse God,
- 8:17Speaker 2: Other people who don't realize that they're going to give
- 8:19Speaker 2: an account. They're going to be judged for the type
- 8:23Speaker 2: of husband, the type of wife, even the type of
- 8:26Speaker 2: child that they have been. Amen. Verse two, therefore, thus
- 8:33Speaker 2: says the Lord God of Israel against the shepherds who
- 8:37Speaker 2: feed my people. You have scattered my flock, driven them
- 8:40Speaker 2: away and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend
- 8:46Speaker 2: to you for the evil of your doing, says the Lord.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Okay. That is not good. So God identifies three problems.
- 9:01Speaker 2: They scattered the flock. They drove the people away. And
- 9:07Speaker 2: they failed to care for them. God says, I will
- 9:11Speaker 2: visit upon you the evil of your doings. In other words,
- 9:16Speaker 2: leadership is accountability before the Lord, our God, right? People
- 9:24Speaker 2: think leadership is only about privilege. No, it's about responsibility
- 9:30Speaker 2: and accountability. So this is something we need to take
- 9:36Speaker 2: seriously right here. Leadership isn't just about having a microphone, right?
- 9:42Speaker 2: It isn't just about having a title. It isn't about
- 9:45Speaker 2: gaining followers, gaining influence or respect. And of course, you know,
- 9:51Speaker 2: we talked about this before in other episodes, but it
- 9:55Speaker 2: keeps coming up in the scripture. And so we're going
- 9:58Speaker 2: to stay faithful to the scriptures, right? So it's not
- 10:03Speaker 2: about respect. Leadership means responsibility. And the Lord keeps hammering
- 10:09Speaker 2: this very point. So if you're leader, if you're leading
- 10:15Speaker 2: people your decisions also affect other people. So if you're
- 10:23Speaker 2: a parent, your decisions affect your children. And if you
- 10:28Speaker 2: are a pastor, your decisions affect your congregation. If you
- 10:36Speaker 2: are a mentor, your decisions affect the people that you
- 10:39Speaker 2: are mentoring, your mentees. And if you are an artist
- 10:43Speaker 2: with a platform, your words affect your audience. And God
- 10:49Speaker 2: takes that serious. He doesn't take that lightly at all.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Verse three, but I will gather the remnant of my
- 10:58Speaker 2: flock out of the all countries where I have driven
- 11:02Speaker 2: them and bring them back to their folds. And they
- 11:07Speaker 2: shall be fruitful and increase. OK. So let's break that down.
- 11:17Speaker 6: Right.
- 11:23Speaker 2: So God promises. And he takes a turn right here.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Let me read that again. And I will set up.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Hold on. Did I read this completely? I will gather
- 11:42Speaker 2: a remnant of my flock out of the countries. Okay.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I will gather the remnant out of my flock, out
- 11:57Speaker 2: of all countries, whether I have driven them, and will
- 12:02Speaker 2: bring them again to this fold, to their folds, and
- 12:07Speaker 2: they shall be fruitful and increased.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Alright, so here is a change right here. I am
- 12:13Speaker 2: thankful that God is just not about judgment, judgment, judgment, judgment, judgment. Right?
- 12:21Speaker 2: He is also giving a promise here. He's He changes
- 12:25Speaker 2: his tone. Now God has confronted the bad shepherds. Now
- 12:33Speaker 2: he talks about the sheep. God says he will gather them.
- 12:38Speaker 2: The people have been scattered. But scattered doesn't mean forgotten.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Praise God. Broken doesn't mean abandoned. And displaced doesn't mean
- 12:50Speaker 2: God has lost track of you at all. God knew
- 12:56Speaker 2: exactly where the people were. So there's no, I don't
- 13:00Speaker 2: know if you heard the phrase, the 10 lost tribes
- 13:03Speaker 2: of Israel. I've heard of it, but there's no such
- 13:10Speaker 2: thing as the 10 lost tribes of Israel because God
- 13:16Speaker 2: knows exactly where they are. Amen. Hallelujah. Looks like you
- 13:24Speaker 2: lost another one. God knows where the sheep have been scattered.
- 13:30Speaker 2: He said that he will bring them back. So somebody
- 13:33Speaker 2: listen today. You might feel like you're scattered. And maybe
- 13:39Speaker 2: your life is taking you somewhere that you never expected
- 13:44Speaker 2: it to take you. You know, maybe you've been hurt
- 13:48Speaker 2: by people who are supposed to lead you. A lot
- 13:53Speaker 2: of people say, complain about church hurt and I'm in
- 13:57Speaker 2: that category but the church will never hurt you it
- 14:00Speaker 2: was just religious bad seeds in the church maybe you're
- 14:07Speaker 2: disappointed by a church disappointed by ministry itself maybe somebody
- 14:11Speaker 2: you trusted let you down verse 23 reminds us don't
- 14:17Speaker 2: confuse the failure of a shepherd with the failure of
- 14:23Speaker 2: God does not fail. People can fail you. Leaders can
- 14:27Speaker 2: fail you. Institutes can fail you. But God himself remains faithful. Amen.
- 14:36Speaker 2: And the good thing is that you can have your
- 14:38Speaker 2: own personal relationship and walk with God. So there is
- 14:46Speaker 2: no excuse. We can't say, oh, because the churches were bad.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I didn't want to serve you, God. We can't say
- 14:56Speaker 2: that on a day of judgment. Verse four, I will
- 15:02Speaker 2: set up shepherds over them who will feed them and
- 15:06Speaker 2: they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall
- 15:12Speaker 2: they be lacking, says the Lord. Amen. Now this is
- 15:17Speaker 2: a great and a beautiful promise, right? He promises new shepherds.
- 15:24Speaker 2: And I pray that I'm amongst that group. Amen. This
- 15:29Speaker 2: is my desire. This is what I strive to be.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Now let's look at the main job of these good shepherds.
- 15:41Speaker 2: They will feed the sheep. And the people will not
- 15:47Speaker 2: live in fear. And I pray this over this podcast
- 15:51Speaker 2: right now. I pray that those who listen and follow
- 15:57Speaker 2: this podcast will not live in fear. They will not
- 16:00Speaker 2: be dismayed and they will not be lacking because my heart,
- 16:05Speaker 2: if you follow this podcast verse by verse, my heart
- 16:09Speaker 2: is definitely there to feed the flock. And the only
- 16:13Speaker 2: thing that will allow us to grow spiritually is the
- 16:18Speaker 2: word of God. God's word is the only thing. So
- 16:24Speaker 2: we can't get that twisted at all. Amen. And this
- 16:31Speaker 2: is exciting to me because if you know anything about
- 16:34Speaker 2: my ministry and my heart, I've always desired to feed
- 16:38Speaker 2: the flock. There's pastors out there. They want to rule
- 16:42Speaker 2: over the flock. They want to control people. They want
- 16:45Speaker 2: to manipulate people. They want to always make people feel
- 16:49Speaker 2: guilty and beat the people and try to whip them
- 16:53Speaker 2: in shape. But the Bible doesn't tell us to whip
- 16:55Speaker 2: people in shape. The Bible tells us to feed the flock.
- 17:00Speaker 2: That is your main job as a pastor or a
- 17:03Speaker 2: spiritual leader.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Amen.
- 17:10Speaker 2: A good shepherd doesn't consistently ask, what can the sheep
- 17:17Speaker 2: do for me? Right? So God's idea of leadership is
- 17:29Speaker 2: one that feeds, protects rather than those who exploit and scatter.
- 17:37Speaker 2: A good leader should ask the question, how can I
- 17:40Speaker 2: care for the sheep of God? Now, that is a
- 17:47Speaker 2: completely different mindset. A servant leader isn't obsessed with being
- 17:53Speaker 2: served At all, right? A servant leader looks for opportunities
- 18:01Speaker 2: to serve. And Jesus is the perfect example of that.
- 18:07Speaker 2: And it just reminds me, I just think of Sunday
- 18:11Speaker 2: going to church and getting that flat tire. And yes,
- 18:18Speaker 2: I was in a suit and I appreciate the community
- 18:23Speaker 2: supporting me. the brother who came out and changed the
- 18:27Speaker 2: tire for me real quick, got me back on the road.
- 18:29Speaker 2: So I was able to make it to church, but
- 18:35Speaker 2: I received special treatment in a way because I was
- 18:39Speaker 2: in a suit and people asked if I was a
- 18:42Speaker 2: minister and they asked about church and people wanted to
- 18:45Speaker 2: talk about God. And I'm glad that I was able
- 18:49Speaker 2: to have that type of effect, but It wasn't about
- 18:53Speaker 2: me in a suit. It wasn't about me looking good.
- 18:55Speaker 2: It wasn't about me. I wasn't, you know, walking up
- 18:57Speaker 2: and down the street expecting someone to change my tire.
- 19:01Speaker 2: After all, I'm a minister of the Lord. No, my
- 19:05Speaker 2: heart and my prayers, Lord, send me back. Send us back.
- 19:10Speaker 2: How can we go and minister to this area? As
- 19:16Speaker 2: a guy was changing out my tire, he was telling
- 19:18Speaker 2: me that people didn't are dying over there. People end
- 19:21Speaker 2: up dead in that area. People are strung out on
- 19:24Speaker 2: drugs and things like that. So please help me pray
- 19:30Speaker 2: that God will open up a door. If God doesn't
- 19:34Speaker 2: send me, if it's not for me or my ministry
- 19:37Speaker 2: to go there, then pray that God will raise up
- 19:41Speaker 2: those who he has called to go in that area. Amen.
- 19:46Speaker 2: It's not about me building my brand and building my
- 19:48Speaker 2: name and In app downloads. And you know, it's not
- 19:52Speaker 2: about that. It's about a work, a revival. It's about
- 19:57Speaker 2: sheep that need to be fed by faithful leaders. Amen.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Verse five, behold, The days are coming, says the Lord,
- 20:12Speaker 2: that I will rise. I will rise to David, a
- 20:17Speaker 2: branch of righteousness. A king shall reign and prosper. Now,
- 20:24Speaker 2: that is a beautiful promise right here. Now, this is
- 20:30Speaker 2: an important scripture right here. God says, I will raise
- 20:33Speaker 2: unto David a righteous branch. This is a messianic promise
- 20:41Speaker 2: right here. And I love to point out, I'm going
- 20:44Speaker 2: to start pointing out Jesus in the Old Testament. We
- 20:49Speaker 2: have to realize that Jesus is in the Old Testament
- 20:52Speaker 2: as well as in the New Testament. And so this
- 20:57Speaker 2: is a messianic promise. God is pointing towards the coming king.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And notice what kind of king he will be. Amen.
- 21:14Speaker 2: He will be righteous. He will reign. He will execute
- 21:19Speaker 2: judgment and execute justice. This is not a corrupt king
- 21:26Speaker 2: that is on his way. We know that Jesus is
- 21:30Speaker 2: coming soon. His return is very near. He will not
- 21:37Speaker 2: be another corrupt king. This is a king That God's
- 21:44Speaker 2: people truly need.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Amen.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Because we can see that the earthly kings failed repeatedly.
- 22:05Speaker 2: But God promised a righteous branch who would come from
- 22:09Speaker 2: David's line. Now, the king that is coming will not
- 22:17Speaker 2: be ruling according to selfish ambition or corruption that we
- 22:24Speaker 2: see so many leaders do today, right? He's going to
- 22:31Speaker 2: rule with righteousness and with justice. Now, the ultimate fulfillment
- 22:38Speaker 2: of this promise is found in Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
- 22:49Speaker 2: hallelujah now let's look at this phrase the righteous branch
- 22:57Speaker 2: this is extremely important a branch comes from a living
- 23:02Speaker 2: tree right even when the visible part of the tree
- 23:10Speaker 2: appears damaged or cut down new growth can emerge which
- 23:16Speaker 2: is a blessing hallelujah Judah's royal line looked devastated. The
- 23:29Speaker 2: nation was facing judgment at this point, right? But God
- 23:35Speaker 2: was saying, I'm not finished. This is a beacon of
- 23:42Speaker 2: hope for the nation right here. So out of what
- 23:49Speaker 2: looked like just total destruction, God would bring forth the
- 23:54Speaker 2: promised king, the Messiah.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It looks like you lost another one.
- 24:01Speaker 2: And for us who are living in this generation and
- 24:06Speaker 2: us who know us Christians, we know that this passage
- 24:11Speaker 2: is pointing to Jesus Christ. Hallelujah.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Hallelujah.
- 24:20Speaker 2: The righteous. Verse 6. In his days Judah will be
- 24:33Speaker 2: in his days Judah will be saved and Israel will
- 24:39Speaker 2: dwell safely. Now this is his name by which he
- 24:45Speaker 2: shall be called. The Lord our righteousness. Wow, that is beautiful. Amen.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Let's not miss this, right? Let's look at this real
- 25:02Speaker 2: closely right here. The Lord, our righteousness. This is so powerful.
- 25:07Speaker 2: The answer to human unrighteousness isn't simply try harder. And
- 25:16Speaker 2: we all get caught up in that. We all think
- 25:19Speaker 2: we work hard, try hard, try in our own efforts. No,
- 25:23Speaker 2: the ultimate answer is found in the righteous king God provides.
- 25:30Speaker 2: This righteous king that was coming at this point. Our
- 25:39Speaker 2: point of view, he has already come and he is
- 25:41Speaker 2: about to return. We see the work of God. Hallelujah.
- 25:46Speaker 2: You saw God's plan. Now, Jesus is not simply another teacher.
- 25:49Speaker 2: He is the one who provides righteousness and salvation.
- 25:55Speaker 3: That is beautiful.
- 25:56Speaker 2: The righteous king. Now, think about what we've been studying.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Jeremiah 22 showed us kings who were failing. Chapter 23
- 26:10Speaker 2: begins by condemning shepherds. who are scattering God's people. And
- 26:20Speaker 2: then God says, I'm going to give you the kings
- 26:25Speaker 2: that I'm going to give you the king that you
- 26:27Speaker 2: actually need right here. This, this is awesome, beloved. And
- 26:38Speaker 2: so this is the gospel message found in the Old Testament.
- 26:43Speaker 2: This is about Jesus in the Old Testament. This is
- 26:52Speaker 2: preaching the gospel in the Old Testament. So the New Testament,
- 26:59Speaker 2: you can find the New Testament in the Old Testament
- 27:02Speaker 2: if you just dig. So human leadership is limited at best.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Human righteousness is limited or even if it exists, the
- 27:16Speaker 2: Bible says that our righteousness are as filthy rags. Even
- 27:22Speaker 2: human power has limits. But God's salvation doesn't depend on
- 27:30Speaker 2: us creating the perfect system. God himself has provided the
- 27:38Speaker 2: righteous king Jesus is the righteous branch and that's where
- 27:45Speaker 2: a lot of churches and occults get it mixed up
- 27:51Speaker 2: because they think it's human effort they think that they
- 27:54Speaker 2: have to try harder they think that they have to
- 27:57Speaker 2: keep rules and laws and different things no all we
- 28:03Speaker 2: have to do is put our trust and faith in
- 28:06Speaker 2: the righteousness that God has already provided He's already taken
- 28:13Speaker 2: care of our sin problem. Verse seven, therefore, behold, the
- 28:17Speaker 2: days are coming, says the Lord, that they shall no
- 28:20Speaker 2: longer say as the Lord lives, who brought us up,
- 28:25Speaker 2: who brought up the children of Israel from the land
- 28:28Speaker 2: of Egypt. But as the Lord lives, who brought up
- 28:33Speaker 2: and led the descendants of the house of Israel from
- 28:37Speaker 2: the north country, And from all the countries where I
- 28:41Speaker 2: had driven them, they shall dwell in their land. Hallelujah.
- 28:50Speaker 2: And this week, I can't think of the chapter, but
- 28:54Speaker 2: we read this before where they said that they're not
- 28:58Speaker 2: going to talk about the fact that they brought them
- 29:04Speaker 2: out of Egypt and but because they were gathered back together.
- 29:14Speaker 2: So this shows us right here that there will be
- 29:17Speaker 2: a future deliverance that is so significant that the people
- 29:22Speaker 2: would speak about it alongside and in a sense of
- 29:28Speaker 2: beyond the great exodus from Egypt. God will gather his
- 29:36Speaker 2: people from where they have been scattered. so this is
- 29:42Speaker 2: important because they are about to be captured and taken
- 29:46Speaker 2: into exile at this point but God is a God
- 29:51Speaker 2: of restoration and we need to reach out to him
- 29:54Speaker 2: for that amen from scattering to gathering right There's the
- 30:01Speaker 2: pattern right here. The shepherds scattered, but God gathers. So
- 30:10Speaker 2: the leaders here, they failed. But God, he provides a
- 30:17Speaker 2: righteous king. Even though the people were displaced, God promises
- 30:23Speaker 2: restoration here. The nations experienced judgment, God still had a
- 30:35Speaker 2: future for his people. That is hope, beloved.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Amen.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Let's take a quick break.
- 30:50Speaker 5: You are listening to The Light of Las Vegas.
- 30:53Speaker 2: This is It's the His Hop Radio Show.
- 30:55Speaker 6: Everything telling me I better be cautious The ups and
- 30:59Speaker 6: downs of life, yeah, it's making me nauseous I can't
- 31:02Speaker 6: stay the same, I had to make a change But
- 31:04Speaker 6: they just see the old me, I'm trying to find.
- 31:06Speaker 4: A better way Sometimes I blame.
- 31:10Speaker 6: Everybody else when the problem is really me And sometimes
- 31:16Speaker 6: I let my world fall apart over everything And then
- 31:19Speaker 6: that's when you pick me up.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Live me up right now. Live me up right now.
- 31:26Speaker 3: You really live me up. Live me up right now.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Live me up right now. Everything telling me I better
- 31:36Speaker 3: be cautious. The ups and downs of life is making
- 31:39Speaker 3: me nauseous.
- 31:40Speaker 4: I can't slow down. I'm trying to win a race,
- 31:42Speaker 4: but I don't want to. That they got the news
- 31:52Speaker 4: I be.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Up, then I'm down Yeah, I'm.
- 31:54Speaker 5: Right, then I'm wrong Think I got it in control
- 31:57Speaker 5: I be barely.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Holding on Sometimes I blame everybody else When the problem
- 32:04Speaker 4: is really me And sometimes I.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Let my world fall apart Over everything and then that's
- 32:11Speaker 3: when you lift me up.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Lift me up right now Lift me up right now
- 32:17Speaker 5: You really lift me.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Up Live me up right now. Live me up right now.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I need you to lift me up. Lift me up
- 32:27Speaker 3: right now. Live me up right now. You really lift
- 32:31Speaker 3: me up.
- 32:33Speaker 7: Lift me up right now. Live me up right now.
- 32:37Speaker 7: I know I don't deserve it. Your pain was my purchase.
- 32:43Speaker 7: My faith so imperfect.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Lift me up. Lift me up.
- 33:00Speaker 3: .
- 33:14Speaker 5: .
- 33:24Speaker 3: .
- 33:31Speaker 2: You are listening to The Light of Las Vegas. This
- 33:35Speaker 2: is the HizHop Radio Show. All right.
- 33:54Speaker 3: All right.
- 33:55Speaker 2: We are back from the break. That is our brother,
- 33:57Speaker 2: Derek Minor, hitting us with look me up on his
- 34:01Speaker 2: latest project. Derek Minor is one of the generals in
- 34:06Speaker 2: our genre, CHH. Check him out. Give him a like, follow, subscribe.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Let us support those who are really doing the thing.
- 34:14Speaker 5: All right.
- 34:16Speaker 2: At this time, I want to shout out to those
- 34:19Speaker 2: who are in the live chat. Thank you for sticking
- 34:21Speaker 2: with us. On this episode, shout out to our brother
- 34:25Speaker 2: Zone 3, our brother Corinth. You know we love it
- 34:29Speaker 2: when you stop by and show love. And everyone else,
- 34:34Speaker 2: those who do listen to this podcast but you haven't
- 34:37Speaker 2: logged in yet, we want to encourage you to download
- 34:40Speaker 2: the His Hot Radio app, get logged in. Or you
- 34:44Speaker 2: can even go to our website, hishotnation.com. and join our
- 34:50Speaker 2: communities there. It's all linked together. Amen. So at this time,
- 34:59Speaker 2: we're going to go ahead and head over to our
- 35:02Speaker 2: accountability partner segment. This is where we call, email, text,
- 35:10Speaker 2: reach out to people in our lives that we trust
- 35:13Speaker 2: to hold us accountable. We have a call once a week.
- 35:17Speaker 2: We call every Monday. Me and Zone 3 hop on
- 35:20Speaker 2: there just to fellowship or to pray or just to
- 35:24Speaker 2: encourage one another. Confess. The Bible says confess your faults
- 35:29Speaker 2: to one another and pray for one another so that
- 35:32Speaker 2: we may be healed. Amen. We don't want to just
- 35:36Speaker 2: leave it to that. We want to make sure you're
- 35:38Speaker 2: plugged in to a home church. There are some faithful
- 35:42Speaker 2: pastors out there, faithful ministers out there that are able
- 35:48Speaker 2: to to bless and enhance our life just like this
- 35:53Speaker 2: episode right we're talking about the righteous king the righteous
- 35:58Speaker 2: shepherds those who will gather and not scatter so this
- 36:05Speaker 2: is a part of it allowing ourselves to be held
- 36:08Speaker 2: accountable so the question today is the challenge is Ask
- 36:17Speaker 2: your accountability partner, am I leading anybody in my life?
- 36:22Speaker 3: Right?
- 36:23Speaker 2: Then ask the question, do the people I'm influencing feel served, encouraged,
- 36:30Speaker 2: and protected or controlled and pressured? That is a great question,
- 36:37Speaker 2: especially for pastors and leaders, those who have ministries. Let
- 36:43Speaker 2: me ask that again. And I'm examining myself, right? Do
- 36:47Speaker 2: the people I'm influencing feel served? Do they feel encouraged?
- 36:54Speaker 2: And do they feel protected or do they feel controlled
- 36:58Speaker 2: and pressured? So whatever you're leading, you're leading one person
- 37:05Speaker 2: or 100 people.
- 37:06Speaker 3: This applies.
- 37:18Speaker 2: And pray together and ask God to make you a
- 37:21Speaker 2: better shepherd. Especially men, right? I love to minister to
- 37:28Speaker 2: men because the Bible puts men in leadership. We are
- 37:33Speaker 2: the leaders in the heads of our families. Now the
- 37:37Speaker 2: enemy will deceive women and to make women think that
- 37:41Speaker 2: they are the leaders, but that is out of order
- 37:46Speaker 2: in a family dynamic. Now, I'm not a male chauvinist.
- 37:50Speaker 2: This is not me, but this is the Bible. It's
- 37:53Speaker 2: the word of God. There is an all out attack
- 37:56Speaker 2: against men. The enemy wants men to be passive. He
- 38:00Speaker 2: wants us to be sissies. He doesn't want us to
- 38:03Speaker 2: lead our families. I pray that all of our masculinity
- 38:08Speaker 2: will be working at 100 percent and that we will
- 38:13Speaker 2: be the men that God designed us to be and
- 38:17Speaker 2: called us to be. And we come against all strongholds
- 38:22Speaker 2: of the enemy. We are the protectors and the providers
- 38:25Speaker 2: of our families. And we ask, oh, Lord God, that
- 38:28Speaker 2: you will help us. Amen. By your grace, in the
- 38:33Speaker 2: name of Jesus.
- 38:38Speaker 3: All right.
- 38:39Speaker 2: We also want to let you know that His Heart
- 38:41Speaker 2: Radio is a monitored and a reporting radio station. If
- 38:44Speaker 2: you want to rise up in the charts, check out
- 38:47Speaker 2: our promo packages online. Submit your music, hishopnation.com. Hit that
- 38:53Speaker 2: submissions tab, fill out all the info, and we will
- 38:58Speaker 2: get you into rotation after we check out your project.
- 39:01Speaker 2: It's got to be positive. It's got to be uplifting.
- 39:07Speaker 2: And it's got to be godly. Amen. You got to
- 39:10Speaker 2: glorify the Lord in your music. All right. So, At
- 39:19Speaker 2: this time, if you're in the live chat, head on
- 39:21Speaker 2: over to the community so we can get to our
- 39:26Speaker 2: trivia question for this episode. Shout out once. again to
- 39:30Speaker 2: our brother zone three on it down trivia champion nothing
- 39:37Speaker 2: to be ashamed of my brother sitting on the throne
- 39:40Speaker 2: learning the word of god getting deeper into it being
- 39:44Speaker 2: able to answer these questions and understand these bible passages
- 39:49Speaker 2: it's it's amazing amen but we do want to make
- 39:55Speaker 2: it fun so if you're out there and if you
- 39:59Speaker 2: want to challenge our brother jump into the community the
- 40:03Speaker 2: first one to answer the question is the champ for
- 40:07Speaker 2: today so the question is what two specific responsibilities does
- 40:13Speaker 2: jeremiah say the righteous branch will carry out during his
- 40:18Speaker 2: reign let me ask that again what two specific responsibilities
- 40:27Speaker 2: does Jeremiah say the righteous branch will carry out during
- 40:34Speaker 2: his reign so there's two responsibilities that the righteous branch
- 40:41Speaker 2: will carry out where other leaders had failed and man
- 40:48Speaker 2: righteous branch will be successful hallelujah all right i want
- 40:57Speaker 2: to give a community shout out this is where we
- 41:02Speaker 2: shout out our community this is a community radio station
- 41:05Speaker 2: we want to help and assist people we want to
- 41:09Speaker 2: let people know where they can go for services we
- 41:11Speaker 2: want to Let people know about what we got going
- 41:15Speaker 2: as far as our events and the things that we
- 41:20Speaker 2: have planned coming up. If you want to volunteer and
- 41:23Speaker 2: get involved, we definitely invite you to come and do so.
- 41:28Speaker 2: If you need assistance, if you need toys this year,
- 41:32Speaker 2: if you need, we can get you a care package.
- 41:36Speaker 2: If you need food, if you need supplies, things of
- 41:40Speaker 2: that nature. We want to be able to do that
- 41:44Speaker 2: for you. Amen. It's an all out blessing. And so
- 41:51Speaker 2: we want to put together a care package for the
- 41:53Speaker 2: brother that helped me with the flat tire the other day.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Amen.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Normally I like to reach out and I'm the one
- 42:02Speaker 2: serving people and reaching out to people. But wow, it's like, man,
- 42:07Speaker 2: you know what? When you sow those seeds, right? When
- 42:11Speaker 2: you sow those seeds, you will reap. This brother came
- 42:13Speaker 2: like he came out immediately. You were not there long
- 42:18Speaker 2: at all. And that brother just came running across the street.
- 42:22Speaker 2: He got his jack. He ran across the street to
- 42:24Speaker 2: help us change that tire. So, amen. I praise God
- 42:27Speaker 2: for that. Hallelujah. And so, yes, we do have a
- 42:34Speaker 2: couple of events coming up. October 6th, we will. assisting
- 42:38Speaker 2: Metro with their National Night Out. We're going to do
- 42:43Speaker 2: a trunk or treat also with Metro. I believe that's
- 42:48Speaker 2: the 23rd, something like that. And then December 19th is
- 42:53Speaker 2: the day that we're going to do our Toy Drive,
- 42:57Speaker 2: our Christ Mess event. So it's a blessing to be
- 43:05Speaker 2: a blessing. Amen. Amen. We're going to be doing that. Also,
- 43:13Speaker 2: we want y'all to check out our YouTube page, our
- 43:16Speaker 2: YouTube podcast. Just type in His Hot Nation or type
- 43:20Speaker 2: in His Hot Radio. You'll find me on YouTube. We
- 43:24Speaker 2: just did an interview with Totally For Him, a gospel
- 43:28Speaker 2: group that has been around for a while. They have
- 43:32Speaker 2: done great things in the industry. They have ministered with
- 43:37Speaker 2: powerful people in the industry. And God has opened up
- 43:42Speaker 2: the door for me to have guests once again and
- 43:45Speaker 2: artists once again on our platform. So please get locked
- 43:49Speaker 2: in with our YouTube so you can see what we
- 43:52Speaker 2: got going there. They're coming out west. And so they're
- 43:56Speaker 2: thinking about coming out to Vegas, doing an event. And
- 43:59Speaker 2: this is like a quartet group. This is not a
- 44:02Speaker 2: Christian hip hop group. which I normally work with, but
- 44:06Speaker 2: this is a quartet gospel group. So I think a
- 44:11Speaker 2: lot of people would enjoy it, will get blessed by it.
- 44:16Speaker 2: And so please lock in with our YouTube.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Amen.
- 44:29Speaker 2: And also we want to let you know that his hop,
- 44:32Speaker 2: nation is a non-profit organization we opened up a christian
- 44:36Speaker 2: club in 2012 and we're looking to reopen it we
- 44:42Speaker 2: had to close it because of some unfortunate circumstances and
- 44:47Speaker 2: some compromise on my part and man i gotta be
- 44:49Speaker 2: transparent about that but since then i've repented and uh
- 44:55Speaker 2: i'm just waiting for actually god has given me a
- 44:58Speaker 2: strategy so just please give keep me in prayer Amen.
- 45:03Speaker 2: As we discern the will of the Lord, the direction
- 45:07Speaker 2: he wants to take it. But we do look for support.
- 45:11Speaker 2: We will let you know that there is a need.
- 45:13Speaker 2: We need monthly donors. We need sponsors. We need those
- 45:20Speaker 2: who will sow into this vision. Those who truly believe
- 45:24Speaker 2: in it. If you believe that our community could use
- 45:27Speaker 2: another Christian club. We were the first Christian club that
- 45:33Speaker 2: opened up in our community. And so we want to
- 45:37Speaker 2: come back together and minister together, minister in this community.
- 45:47Speaker 2: And so if you want to volunteer, whatever the Lord
- 45:56Speaker 2: has placed on your heart, you can do that. on
- 45:59Speaker 2: our website, hishopnation.com, or you can also do it on
- 46:03Speaker 2: our nonprofit website, hishopnation.org, and on our app, His Hop Radio,
- 46:10Speaker 2: on all platforms. And the great thing about it, it
- 46:15Speaker 2: is a tax write-off.
- 46:23Speaker 3: So, beloved, I.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Got some closing remarks here. Amen. Amen. So the big
- 46:30Speaker 2: lesson in today's podcast, today's episode is bad shepherds scatter,
- 46:36Speaker 2: good shepherds feed the flock. Bad leaders exploit the people.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Godly leaders serve the people. And human kings will fail us.
- 46:50Speaker 2: God provides the righteous king. God is our righteousness that
- 46:55Speaker 2: we desire and long for. And the king is ultimately
- 47:01Speaker 2: fulfilled that righteous king that prophecy was fulfilled in our
- 47:15Speaker 2: lord jesus christ so don't put your ultimate hope in
- 47:19Speaker 2: a human leader.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Don't put your identity in a platform. Don't put your
- 47:25Speaker 2: salvation in a personality. Put your trust in Jesus and
- 47:30Speaker 2: him alone. Jesus is the Lord, our righteousness. So today
- 47:39Speaker 2: we saw God's warning to the shepherds who scattered his people,
- 47:44Speaker 2: but we also saw God's promise to gather them back together. Hallelujah.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Then we saw one of the most beautiful promises in Jeremiah,
- 47:54Speaker 2: the righteous branch. Human leaders can fail us, but Jesus doesn't.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Human shepherds can get distracted, but Jesus remains faithful. Human
- 48:09Speaker 2: kingdoms rise and fall, but Christ remains king. So if
- 48:17Speaker 2: you're hurting because someone Representing God failed you. Don't give
- 48:22Speaker 2: up on Jesus because of one person. Take your eyes
- 48:28Speaker 2: off the imperfect shepherd and put your eyes on the
- 48:33Speaker 2: perfect shepherd. Jesus, the righteous branch. Amen. We love you.
- 48:44Speaker 2: We appreciate you.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Remember.
- 48:47Speaker 2: It's not about us. It's all about the Christ in us.
- 48:50Speaker 2: God bless. You are listening to the light of Las Vegas.
- 49:04Speaker 2: This is the His Hop Radio Show.
