- 0:01Speaker 1: We've been saying.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This rules.
- 0:03Speaker 1: The boy doesn't want to have sex. You got to
- 0:06Speaker 1: put your mouth on. No, no, no.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Okay, that is quite impressive. Quite, quite, quite impressive.
- 0:12Speaker 4: Look at that.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Oh, that's lovely.
- 0:15Speaker 4: I know.
- 0:15Speaker 5: That's what we've been saying.
- 0:17Speaker 6: I know.
- 0:18Speaker 1: The Woody Show. Total first world problem, but the television
- 0:23Speaker 1: in the studio doesn't work.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I know.
- 0:24Speaker 5: Why are we supposed to watch TV.
- 0:26Speaker 1: While we work? Well, actually, we do keep an eye
- 0:28Speaker 1: on news, you know, while the show's going on in
- 0:31Speaker 1: case anything happens. Not today. We're sorry. This is temporary
- 0:35Speaker 1: unavailable to continue to call the cable company.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Call this number.
- 0:38Speaker 7: Yeah, we'll get right on it.
- 0:39Speaker 5: I'm going to do that.
- 0:40Speaker 3: That'll be quick and easy.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Bort, I have no idea how this thing works.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I don't know how they have the whole thing set up.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Did you guys submit a trouble ticket yet?
- 0:46Speaker 4: No, yeah, I got to submit a help ticket.
- 0:49Speaker 6: I heard that helps.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Does it? That's what we're told, allegedly. Does it? That's
- 0:52Speaker 1: what corporate says. They're not wrong.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Plug in an Apple TV into.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It and we're good. Every office now has the ticket
- 1:02Speaker 1: system for whatever it is. Oh, we don't have any
- 1:05Speaker 1: more paper for the copy machine. Well, put a ticket in.
- 1:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 6: It goes to corporate in New York, then to our
- 1:13Speaker 6: people here.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It's supposed to make things more efficient.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Does it?
- 1:17Speaker 8: Sure.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Can I submit a ticket on how to submit a ticket? Yes. Really?
- 1:21Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I got to figure out how.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I actually did submit a ticket for something. It was
- 1:25Speaker 1: like a, you know, HR type of thing. Hey, how
- 1:29Speaker 1: do I find blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Man, I
- 1:31Speaker 1: don't think I've gotten an answer on that yet.
- 1:33Speaker 7: No, you'll get an answer right back from an automated
- 1:35Speaker 7: thing saying, we got your ticket, and then that's that.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Yeah. That's the end of the conversation. Because it was
- 1:39Speaker 1: something that I was supposed to submit to stay compliant
- 1:42Speaker 1: with whatever, you know, every person fills these things out.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 1: And so I'm failing to see where I'm supposed to
- 1:49Speaker 1: enter this. And I was like, what do I put
- 1:51Speaker 1: in this place, in this form, in this particular spot?
- 1:56Speaker 1: Nobody ever gets it. So I said, forget it. And
- 1:59Speaker 1: they haven't followed up to say, well, you still haven't
- 2:01Speaker 1: submitted your doohickey.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess I did.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Guess why.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so, yeah, not really. Not really getting on the
- 2:07Speaker 1: efficiency part of the submit a ticket thing.
- 2:10Speaker 9: Maybe they're doing what my friend who was a consultant
- 2:12Speaker 9: did when he had a stack of papers. And he said,
- 2:14Speaker 9: check this out and just threw them in the recycling.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Bin.
- 2:18Speaker 1: You know what the ticket system is? The ticket system
- 2:20Speaker 1: is what parents, when they say, we'll see.
- 2:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 1: It's a way to get the employee off your back.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Because if someone's showing up to an office, first of all,
- 2:27Speaker 1: you don't have to have anybody in the office handling
- 2:29Speaker 1: that stuff. You can have one person who handles all
- 2:32Speaker 1: of whatever it is.
- 2:33Speaker 3: All the tickets.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Yeah, like the person who's in charge of making sure
- 2:36Speaker 1: that all the printers and copy machines have their toners
- 2:39Speaker 1: and paper and things like that.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Which they never do.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, like you don't have to have that person there.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You can have one person oversee the entire company. So
- 2:48Speaker 1: when this office in this corner of the country needs paper.
- 2:51Speaker 1: They can put a ticket in, see?
- 2:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And then that person does what? Do they get on
- 2:55Speaker 1: a plane?
- 2:56Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:56Speaker 7: Fly one ream out?
- 2:58Speaker 6: No.
- 2:58Speaker 1: They call somebody who's in that office and they go, hey,
- 3:01Speaker 1: so can we just go to that person? Let's cut
- 3:03Speaker 1: the middleman out.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 7: Guess who we don't need?
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It's the we'll see. It's the we'll see system.
- 3:08Speaker 6: Do you remember we were on a station where there
- 3:10Speaker 6: was no engineer in the building? He was actually in
- 3:12Speaker 6: a four to five state area and he had to travel.
- 3:14Speaker 1: That's right. To meet each person. Like state to cluster
- 3:18Speaker 1: every single day. This was a big city too, if
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm remembering correctly.
- 3:21Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And so the engineer who could fix this stuff, he
- 3:24Speaker 1: was located hours away in a much smaller city where
- 3:29Speaker 1: there was less on the line from a revenue standpoint
- 3:31Speaker 1: and everything else. So this station in this really big
- 3:34Speaker 1: city went off the air and this guy had to
- 3:37Speaker 1: somehow get from five hours away to before anything could
- 3:41Speaker 1: be done.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It's really weird. Hey, by the way, today is Bort's
- 3:47Speaker 1: 10-year anniversary with the show.
- 3:48Speaker 4: You guys.
- 3:49Speaker 1: No way. And he hasn't burned the building down yet. No.
- 3:53Speaker 3: 10 years. Perfect record. 10 years, dude. Damn.
- 3:56Speaker 1: It's been a while.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Does it feel like 10 years, or does it feel longer, shorter?
- 4:01Speaker 6: Sometimes it feels shorter. Sometimes it feels longer when I
- 4:04Speaker 6: realize I.
- 4:05Speaker 1: God, I'm... Let's see.
- 4:07Speaker 6: I was 29 when I started here.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So how old are you now?
- 4:10Speaker 5: 39.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Can you do the math for us?
- 4:15Speaker 5: I mean, I can.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I can help.
- 4:17Speaker 6: But there are some days when I look around the
- 4:20Speaker 6: office building and I look around the personnel on the
- 4:23Speaker 6: show and stuff and I go, wow, besides Woody, Menace, Greg,
- 4:27Speaker 6: and Seabass, I'm the longest employed person, not just on
- 4:31Speaker 6: the show, on the station alone.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And in most of the other stations, too.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Wow.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I mean, people like because, look, things change, especially on,
- 4:39Speaker 1: you know, positions that are. you know, more like entry-level
- 4:43Speaker 1: positions on any show. Like that stuff, like remember Nick Soundwave?
- 4:48Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:48Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like the position like, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: Menji's got or whatever. Like that's a position typically, and
- 4:53Speaker 1: Menji's been here. How long has Menji been here now?
- 4:55Speaker 1: You've been here for at least.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Almost a couple years.
- 4:56Speaker 1: He's been here a year and a half. A year
- 4:57Speaker 1: and a half?
- 4:58Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's like... Feels like five.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Yeah, right?
- 5:02Speaker 1: People, you know, people come and go and they move
- 5:04Speaker 1: on to other things. Randy, look at Randy. Yeah, right.
- 5:07Speaker 5: You know?
- 5:07Speaker 1: But man, I've been here longer than the program director.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I've been here longer than the boss of the building.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yeah, like all the other jocks or, you know, like Tyler,
- 5:15Speaker 1: for example. You know, Tyler, you know, comes in, he
- 5:18Speaker 1: does his thing and then get these these things. But
- 5:22Speaker 1: as things go and it's a weird industry that we're
- 5:25Speaker 1: in for sure. There's a lot of turnover and a
- 5:27Speaker 1: lot of change. Pretty, pretty consistent as things go. Pretty consistent.
- 5:32Speaker 9: I've never told you this, but I don't have the
- 5:34Speaker 9: best memory. I don't remember Bort not working here. I
- 5:37Speaker 9: don't remember those days.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Really?
- 5:38Speaker 3: I don't. It's just like, it's always been Bort, you know? Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 6: Yeah, it was Seabass, then Julie on the phone screen,
- 5:45Speaker 6: or then me. And then everybody else followed after that.
- 5:48Speaker 6: So it's been a long time. I think I was
- 5:50Speaker 6: about maybe a year and a half into your guys
- 5:52Speaker 6: being here.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Something like that. Now, Bort, I mean, in those 10 years,
- 5:57Speaker 1: do you think the quality... of employees around here has
- 6:01Speaker 1: gone up or has it gone down like in other
- 6:02Speaker 1: words like you're still you're still here and you haven't
- 6:04Speaker 1: burned the building and he's and he's very critical right
- 6:08Speaker 1: he is the most critical i'll be honest no no
- 6:10Speaker 1: i'm saying it could be where he thinks overall things
- 6:14Speaker 1: have improved oh man it's been an ebb and flow
- 6:18Speaker 1: let's say the ebb and flow right but overall like
- 6:20Speaker 1: if you had to average it all out I'm not
- 6:23Speaker 1: talking about. And look, by the way, I'm not talking
- 6:25Speaker 1: about the show. I'm talking about the building.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, that's easy.
- 6:29Speaker 1: No, the building, the building in general. I'm not talking
- 6:31Speaker 1: about the show. I'm talking about the building. You took
- 6:33Speaker 1: away the hard. Oh, man. Oh, actually, I did have
- 6:35Speaker 1: a dance for that, too.
- 6:36Speaker 6: I would say overall in the building, the quality of
- 6:41Speaker 6: people has gone up, but we've also gone a lot smaller.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Right. Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So the company is less people to be annoyed by. Right.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Well, there's a lot of good workers and I don't
- 6:50Speaker 6: think the company wants to get rid of them, but
- 6:52Speaker 6: there's a lot of people here that actually really want
- 6:53Speaker 6: to try. So at least on the level of people
- 6:56Speaker 6: that I associate with.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Wow.
- 6:58Speaker 4: That's, that's a crazy answer. I think I would disagree.
- 7:02Speaker 1: If you would have asked me a handful of years ago,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I would have said by now, Hey, boards, boards here, 10,
- 7:07Speaker 1: 10 years. When that date hits, what would you say?
- 7:12Speaker 1: I would say either Bort has burned the building down
- 7:15Speaker 1: or things have gotten better. And the fact that he's
- 7:18Speaker 1: still here and has not burned the building down.
- 7:20Speaker 7: That's a good sign.
- 7:21Speaker 1: That's a good sign. Now let's talk about the show. Yeah,
- 7:24Speaker 1: let's go.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Okay.
- 7:26Speaker 6: I would say definitely that's an ebb and flow. I
- 7:27Speaker 6: would say at one point in time, maybe like 2018
- 7:31Speaker 6: to say 2022, I feel like behind the scenes, we
- 7:34Speaker 6: had a good crew of people that everybody didn't really
- 7:38Speaker 6: have an ego about. There was a lot of people
- 7:40Speaker 6: that just really wanted to do what was right for
- 7:41Speaker 6: the show.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Randy, specifically.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Randy, Nick Soundwave, Dumbass Tyler, Julian. Everybody was really down
- 7:49Speaker 6: to do whatever they wanted to do for the show.
- 7:52Speaker 6: And everybody got along too. Even if Seabass needed something, me, Julian,
- 7:56Speaker 6: whoever would jump in on it. Whatever was needed for
- 7:58Speaker 6: the show. I think we went through a dip for
- 8:00Speaker 6: a long time. And then I feel like recently, especially
- 8:04Speaker 6: with the addition of Jeff G, he has tried to
- 8:07Speaker 6: bring back that team morale.
- 8:09Speaker 1: So I think that's, it's, it's on its way back
- 8:11Speaker 1: up right now.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Good. Good.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Because man, we had, we had a couple of dips.
- 8:16Speaker 5: We had a couple people.
- 8:17Speaker 1: They were lovely people. No, don't mention names. I'm not
- 8:20Speaker 1: mentioning anybody's names. I'm saying lovely people. Because bored is
- 8:23Speaker 1: more critical, I think, than most. How would you rate
- 8:26Speaker 1: your relationship with Seabass these days? Because that's a person
- 8:29Speaker 1: whose heart you would cut out.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Of his chest.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Happily.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Pleasure.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Definitely. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 meaning
- 8:36Speaker 1: you would take him out today. um maybe a five.
- 8:41Speaker 2: A five i just i just i just pass him
- 8:46Speaker 2: in the hall if he needs something okay in the
- 8:48Speaker 2: audio if i need something i mean you know he'll
- 8:50Speaker 2: ignore me but as far as it goes besides sea bass's.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Interactions with vaughn which i think are demeaning uh to
- 8:55Speaker 6: vaughn and should be called upon hr um i think
- 8:59Speaker 6: that you know it's just a very passive relationship now
- 9:01Speaker 6: at this point.
- 9:02Speaker 7: If he does need something from you how does that work.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Does he speak to you? Does he go in there?
- 9:08Speaker 7: Does he submit a help ticket?
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah, a ticket.
- 9:11Speaker 6: I guess technically he submits a help ticket to the chat,
- 9:13Speaker 6: which I've told him not to do, but he still does.
- 9:16Speaker 6: He doesn't send an email. He doesn't talk to me
- 9:18Speaker 6: in person. We don't talk in the hallways. We barely
- 9:20Speaker 6: talk whatsoever. Which is good that way.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I mean, it's just... You prefer it that way.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 6: I mean, I wouldn't mind talking with him as a coworker,
- 9:28Speaker 6: but that's never going to happen.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Okay. He doesn't like talking to people. That is true.
- 9:33Speaker 7: We'll do robot arms and walk away.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:36Speaker 5: It's a five.
- 9:37Speaker 1: He does like a swan-like swim. Have you guys seen that?
- 9:39Speaker 6: Where he kind of does a big move with his
- 9:42Speaker 6: arm like he's swimming through water.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Like someone pretending they're an airplane. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, like
- 9:47Speaker 1: a helicopter mode. Like he'll see somebody and all of
- 9:49Speaker 1: a sudden he just does a big turn back to
- 9:51Speaker 1: the other way and just starts walking away. Yeah, he'll
- 9:53Speaker 1: spin and go the other way. And pretend like he forgot.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Something I meant to go that way.
- 9:57Speaker 7: I meant to hide behind this pillar, right?
- 10:01Speaker 1: Well, Bort, 10 years in. I don't know what the
- 10:04Speaker 1: 10th anniversary is. Is that paper? What is that?
- 10:07Speaker 4: I think it should be a food celebration, so I'll
- 10:09Speaker 4: order whatever you want, Bort.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I'm down. Let's do it. He's a vegetarian.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Anything.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I'm easy as a vegetarian. Everyone thinks it's hard. I'll
- 10:16Speaker 1: eat anything, man. There's like pizza. There's burritos.
- 10:19Speaker 8: All right.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But what about guinea pig burritos? You don't like those?
- 10:21Speaker 8: No.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Well, no.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Why would I? That has meat.
- 10:24Speaker 7: As long as it comes in a tin because it's
- 10:26Speaker 7: a tin anniversary.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Oh, 10?
- 10:29Speaker 5: 10.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Oh, 10.
- 10:30Speaker 3: We'll get you some Altoids.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Well, Bort, we love you. And congrats on making it
- 10:35Speaker 1: 10 years. I haven't been fired yet.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:38Speaker 1: And nobody's been running out of the building from a fire.
- 10:41Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 5: All right.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Thank you, Bort.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Do you ever say something out loud and you realize,
- 10:46Speaker 3: oh my God, I.
- 10:47Speaker 5: Am so stupid.
- 10:50Speaker 9: This is The Woody Show.
- 10:53Speaker 1: So Mendes went to, and he was telling us about
- 10:55Speaker 1: it last week. We were having like a little meeting
- 10:58Speaker 1: about different things that were happening. Menace had mentioned he
- 11:01Speaker 1: was going to something called ComplexCon.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:05Speaker 4: ComplexCon has been happening for years. I know Seabass is gone.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'm sure about it.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Jeff is gone as well. Is it like for sneakers
- 11:12Speaker 4: and stuff? It's like streetwear, fashion, concerts.
- 11:14Speaker 8: So Complex Magazine used to be, and still is, a
- 11:19Speaker 8: hip-hop sort of culture thing, but it's where Hot Ones,
- 11:22Speaker 8: the interview show, came out of.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 8: Sean Evans worked for Complex as, like, an editor or whatever.
- 11:27Speaker 8: He said, let's do this funny little interview thing.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Yeah, so Menace said.
- 11:30Speaker 3: He was going to go there.
- 11:31Speaker 1: We came up with, you know, what we think is a,
- 11:33Speaker 1: we'll see how it went, like, a funny idea.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Instead of, like, going down there, like, hey, how much
- 11:37Speaker 1: did you pay for whatever that was? You know, something else.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Based on something that, you know, Menace has mentioned before.
- 11:44Speaker 1: But I saw there was a bunch of drama, right? Like,
- 11:46Speaker 1: there was a bunch of drama.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so this year's ComplexCon, slightly more ratchet than normal.
- 11:50Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Because I've had a lovely time every time, but this time,
- 11:56Speaker 4: four people were stabbed.
- 11:58Speaker 5: What?
- 11:58Speaker 4: There was people jumping over barriers. There was fights on
- 12:02Speaker 4: day one.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And a hip-hop convention menace?
- 12:05Speaker 5: What?
- 12:05Speaker 4: I don't know. I felt like- Is it rival gangs, Greg?
- 12:08Speaker 3: I guess so.
- 12:10Speaker 4: No, I felt like the venue- compacted everybody really close
- 12:15Speaker 4: together versus like other spaces that it's happened.
- 12:17Speaker 8: Now I've been to that same venue for like a
- 12:19Speaker 8: generic art show and there were zero stabbings.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Oh, so it's not the venue.
- 12:24Speaker 3: That's weird.
- 12:24Speaker 8: I went to that venue to go see Michael J.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Fox and get his autograph and there were no stabbings,
- 12:29Speaker 4: no fights.
- 12:30Speaker 1: But 100% less street cred.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Oh.
- 12:33Speaker 3: And what you're going to find.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You get a little. A complex car.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Yeah, but it was a lot of fun. Yeah, a
- 12:38Speaker 4: lot of.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Like, what do you do there?
- 12:39Speaker 4: You basically check out, like, all the fashion lines, like,
- 12:42Speaker 4: their new releases. Also, there's, like, cars happening, like, a
- 12:46Speaker 4: little car show happening. There's concerts happening. I did see
- 12:50Speaker 4: a bunch of celebrities, like your favorite Kanye West, Lamar Odom,
- 12:56Speaker 4: Cody Rhodes, Russell Westbrook, Adam 22, Kai Sinat. a little yachty,
- 13:03Speaker 4: a lot of people there, um, just walking the floor
- 13:05Speaker 4: and checking out everything that's available.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So, so we've always kind of goofed on menace. Um,
- 13:11Speaker 1: you know, when the show is over or he sees somebody,
- 13:14Speaker 1: you know, in the hallway from one of our other stations,
- 13:17Speaker 1: which is a hip hop station, um, What do they
- 13:19Speaker 1: call that? Code switching?
- 13:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 3: AKA pandering.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yeah. So like, but so he'll, and Greg does a
- 13:25Speaker 1: better impression than, not so much, but like, yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 4: He does the old white man. So he'll walk, he'll
- 13:30Speaker 4: walk out of the studio.
- 13:33Speaker 5: How you living dog?
- 13:36Speaker 3: What's good, man?
- 13:37Speaker 9: Which leads Woody to say, like, you don't talk to
- 13:39Speaker 9: me like that. He's like, no, I talk like that
- 13:41Speaker 9: all the time.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, he goes, I just don't talk that way when
- 13:44Speaker 1: I'm around you guys. He's pandering to us.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Oh, right.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Yeah, because I just don't want to hear about it constantly.
- 13:51Speaker 1: So the idea that we had is to let Manus
- 13:54Speaker 1: be himself. Be free. And when he goes to ComplexCon
- 13:57Speaker 1: and he's talking to people about the stuff that he
- 13:59Speaker 1: does know a lot about, he knows a lot about,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you know, The shoes. All the stuff that happens at ComplexCon.
- 14:05Speaker 1: He could speak on it. And he could talk to
- 14:08Speaker 1: these guys in a language that they understand. But we're
- 14:12Speaker 1: going to see how Menace does. And we get to
- 14:14Speaker 1: hear Menace. You hear him.
- 14:16Speaker 3: In real life.
- 14:17Speaker 1: This might be the first time you ever get to
- 14:19Speaker 1: hear Menace.
- 14:20Speaker 7: In his natural habitat.
- 14:21Speaker 1: The way that he speaks when he's not here. Yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I'm excited. Yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 1: And so the whole thing was to just go up to,
- 14:28Speaker 1: you know, different people and talk to them and not,
- 14:31Speaker 1: not goofing on, you know, whatever it is that they're
- 14:33Speaker 1: talking about the shoes or the fashion or the different things.
- 14:37Speaker 1: But this is more to see how menace does at
- 14:40Speaker 1: communicating with the people over at complex con in a
- 14:44Speaker 1: way that we don't really get to see menace.
- 14:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Unless he's out in the hallway talking to the guys
- 14:48Speaker 1: at the hip hop. And in which case, all right.
- 14:50Speaker 1: So who is this first person?
- 14:52Speaker 4: This first person is somebody that I was catching just
- 14:56Speaker 4: walking into the convention.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Okay, here we go.
- 14:58Speaker 5: What's good?
- 14:59Speaker 4: What's good?
- 14:59Speaker 2: Yo!
- 15:00Speaker 5: What's poppin'? It's Mad Tech Hawk, man. M-A-D-D-T-E-K. Okay, why
- 15:05Speaker 5: are you out here today?
- 15:07Speaker 10: It's calm plus calm, you know what I'm saying?
- 15:09Speaker 5: The biggies, you know what I mean?
- 15:10Speaker 4: Can I ask for a pause real quick?
- 15:12Speaker 3: Yeah. What was any of that?
- 15:13Speaker 7: His name is Mad Tech.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's shouting out his username. Everybody kind of
- 15:18Speaker 4: goes by their username. when speaking with them.
- 15:22Speaker 1: For stream purposes.
- 15:24Speaker 4: What's up with the skeezers? What's up with the skeezers?
- 15:32Speaker 5: Oh, the hoes. Is this the hoes outside? We outside
- 15:36Speaker 5: right now? We outside, man.
- 15:38Speaker 4: What are you copping?
- 15:40Speaker 5: Copping everything. Probably some forces, though.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I ain't going to count.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I'm going to call some forces. Air Force One?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Hey. Greg, do you want to explain to everybody? I'm
- 15:47Speaker 1: going to interpret.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Like, what are you getting? Okay. I'm getting a bunch
- 15:50Speaker 3: of shoes. All right.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Oh, great.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I mean, I understood, but I wasn't sure. I look
- 15:54Speaker 1: over at Greg to see if he's getting it.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I can't tell. Hey, Greg.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I couldn't tell.
- 15:58Speaker 7: What about the skeezers?
- 15:59Speaker 3: What about them?
- 16:00Speaker 7: What are they?
- 16:01Speaker 3: Skeezers?
- 16:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 3: That I don't know.
- 16:04Speaker 1: He said hoes.
- 16:05Speaker 7: Oh, the hoes?
- 16:06Speaker 1: The hoes.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Skeezers be hoes.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Got it.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Some forces, though.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I ain't going to count. I'm going to call the
- 16:12Speaker 3: cops on forces.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Air Force One?
- 16:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 4: That's what's up.
- 16:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 5: But yo.
- 16:17Speaker 4: We outside.
- 16:18Speaker 5: We inside. We outside and inside. Yo, outside and inside.
- 16:22Speaker 3: All right.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Holla. Outside and inside.
- 16:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Holla.
- 16:26Speaker 4: You know what it is?
- 16:29Speaker 1: It's like Furbies. Remember Furbies back in the day? They
- 16:33Speaker 1: had their own language, but then when you put one
- 16:35Speaker 1: in front of the other one, they would speak to
- 16:38Speaker 1: each other.
- 16:39Speaker 4: We had a full-on conversation right there.
- 16:41Speaker 1: You did.
- 16:42Speaker 5: You did.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Learned a lot. And you weren't. You weren't making fun
- 16:46Speaker 1: of him. You weren't making fun of what he got.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question, Menace, because I have
- 16:51Speaker 1: a couple pairs of Air Force Ones, and I was
- 16:53Speaker 1: told when I purchased these, These are not cool, and
- 16:57Speaker 1: these are out. None of that I care about.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I was going to say, do you care?
- 17:02Speaker 1: I thought they were cool looking. I liked them, and
- 17:04Speaker 1: so I bought them. The issue was you bought the
- 17:06Speaker 1: black ones. Those are mainly for workers. For workers?
- 17:12Speaker 4: Yeah, if you're working at Best Buy or something.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 17:15Speaker 4: You're supposed to get the white one.
- 17:16Speaker 1: You're a dork. You know why I bought him? This
- 17:18Speaker 1: is even dorkier.
- 17:19Speaker 3: What?
- 17:19Speaker 1: I bought him because that's what Mike Tomlin bought for
- 17:23Speaker 1: all the Steelers one year. He gave them all murdered
- 17:27Speaker 1: out Air Force Ones. He left them all at their
- 17:30Speaker 1: lockers at the beginning of the season. I'm like, that's cool.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Now, that's fine because that goes with the colorway.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Of the team. Yeah. Colorway.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Yeah, the color scheme. Yes, Jeff G.
- 17:40Speaker 10: If you wear black Air Force Ones, you are down
- 17:42Speaker 10: to beat the crap out of anybody at any time.
- 17:45Speaker 1: That's the lore that comes with black Air Force Ones.
- 17:48Speaker 1: But wouldn't that be offset by the dad socks that
- 17:50Speaker 1: I wear and the cargo shorts that I'm rocking?
- 17:53Speaker 10: Possibly, but still, if you got black Air Forces, you're
- 17:57Speaker 10: with the issue.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you just got off work.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It doesn't even.
- 18:02Speaker 10: Really have to do with work. Angry dads wear them.
- 18:04Speaker 10: If coaches wear them, they call it Black Air Force
- 18:07Speaker 10: One energy.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Is that why Tomlin bought it for the team?
- 18:10Speaker 5: Yeah, to create that.
- 18:11Speaker 1: To give them that energy. This is like a handful
- 18:15Speaker 1: of years ago. Thank you, Jeff. See, Jeff is from
- 18:17Speaker 1: the streets.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Yeah, he's gone to ComplexCon many times. Now, this next clip,
- 18:21Speaker 4: there's something I do want to discuss that gets mentioned.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I want to see if you guys pick it up.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Okay, here we go. Menace in his own element there
- 18:28Speaker 1: at ComplexCon.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Yeah, what's up? What's up? How's it going? How's it going, man?
- 18:31Speaker 5: My name is C-Dot. I'm out here. This is the moment.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Little C-Note.
- 18:34Speaker 8: A.K.A.
- 18:34Speaker 5: What you want to call me? Just don't call me
- 18:35Speaker 5: late for dinner.
- 18:36Speaker 3: How you doing?
- 18:36Speaker 5: What?
- 18:37Speaker 4: Again, he's shouting out his username.
- 18:40Speaker 5: A.K.A. What you want to call me? Just don't call
- 18:41Speaker 5: me late for dinner. How you doing?
- 18:42Speaker 4: That's what's up.
- 18:43Speaker 5: That's what's up.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Oh, tell me about the fit, though.
- 18:45Speaker 5: What you wearing? What you wearing?
- 18:45Speaker 11: All right, so we're wearing a heli from the top.
- 18:48Speaker 11: From the top, we gotta match the Helly Rodman to
- 18:50Speaker 11: the Helly Shelltoes.
- 18:51Speaker 5: You already know.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Damn, that's wet.
- 18:53Speaker 3: That's wet.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Gotta mix it up.
- 18:54Speaker 5: Gotta mix it up.
- 18:54Speaker 11: We gotta throw some Veil pants in there with the
- 18:56Speaker 11: Lucky Charms. Little green rhinestones just to match the green.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Okay, okay.
- 19:00Speaker 4: How much you cop today?
- 19:01Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 19:02Speaker 11: We're going to count the bank statements tomorrow, but we
- 19:05Speaker 11: know we got bags on bags, bags inside bags.
- 19:08Speaker 5: We got vinyls. We got limited editions. You got it, Amin.
- 19:11Speaker 5: You got it, Amin.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Who came mid this weekend, you think?
- 19:14Speaker 5: I ain't going to lie. Godspeed.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Godspeed.
- 19:16Speaker 5: Damn. You don't have to say that. Godspeed, K. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 5: But all the other brands, great job. Just Satoshi. I'm
- 19:23Speaker 5: going to come back. I'm going to get you tomorrow.
- 19:25Speaker 5: I'm going to get y'all tomorrow.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Who was popping?
- 19:26Speaker 5: Who was popping?
- 19:27Speaker 3: Helly.
- 19:28Speaker 5: Helly.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Helly.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Ride or die. Ride or die, baby.
- 19:30Speaker 6: Tatter.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question. I've noticed that is
- 19:34Speaker 1: there a rule where you have to say everything twice?
- 19:36Speaker 7: I was going to ask the same thing.
- 19:38Speaker 5: You know how.
- 19:39Speaker 1: People like OCD? Touch the door. Touch the door.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Touch the door. Let's get the papers. So it really resonates.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Yeah. What you popping?
- 19:45Speaker 1: What you popping?
- 19:45Speaker 4: Now, Helly's actually a slang term for Hellstar. So he's
- 19:50Speaker 4: actually using slang. Hellstar is the clothing brand that he's
- 19:53Speaker 4: talking about. But he's using a slang term to even describe... the.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Brand that he bought.
- 19:58Speaker 3: All right. Got it.
- 19:59Speaker 1: I think it's also Woody that they're not saying much.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So you might.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Say it twice.
- 20:03Speaker 1: It's kind of like, I don't have much to say.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It's like, I got some new clothes.
- 20:06Speaker 10: What you got?
- 20:07Speaker 4: What you got?
- 20:08Speaker 1: That AI background extend kind of thing on a photo, right?
- 20:11Speaker 4: Now it's like, it's like, I need this book report
- 20:14Speaker 4: to be five words.
- 20:15Speaker 1: It was very, very, very, very.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Now he did hit on something that I want to
- 20:19Speaker 4: bring up. He said the green rhinestones, dude, bedazzling with
- 20:24Speaker 4: young men it's crazy like men yes jeans and on
- 20:29Speaker 4: jeans on everything and i didn't think it was a
- 20:31Speaker 4: thing but i recently walked into a um a zoomies
- 20:35Speaker 4: all the stuff was bedazzled and then i when i
- 20:38Speaker 4: was at this event the i would say early 20s
- 20:42Speaker 4: or uh maybe uh teenagers All their pants, everything bedazzled.
- 20:47Speaker 4: I'm like, what is this?
- 20:48Speaker 1: I mean, again, they're for chicks. It's always kind of
- 20:50Speaker 1: been a thing for chicks, right?
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah, but dude's wearing bedazzled. Yeah, he had bedazzled green
- 20:55Speaker 4: rhinestones on his pants, unfortunately.
- 20:57Speaker 5: But all the other brands, great job. Just Satoshi. I'm
- 21:00Speaker 5: going to come back. I'm going to get you tomorrow.
- 21:02Speaker 5: I'm going to get y'all tomorrow.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Who was popping?
- 21:04Speaker 5: Who was popping?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Helly, helly, helly tie.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Ride or die. Ride or die. Baby tatted on me
- 21:08Speaker 5: for life. Bury me in this shit.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Oh, that's what's up. That's what's up.
- 21:11Speaker 5: I'll see you tomorrow. All right. Take it easy, man.
- 21:13Speaker 5: You have a beautiful day. And hurrah!
- 21:15Speaker 7: Hurrah!
- 21:16Speaker 3: All right. All right.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Cool, man.
- 21:20Speaker 8: It's like they're always rushing to create some new catchphrase
- 21:23Speaker 8: or some new garbage, some new slang.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Once anybody else has heard the last one, man. Yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 1: it's got to be cool every six weeks.
- 21:29Speaker 3: All right.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Well, we have more Menace Mets and more people at
- 21:32Speaker 1: ComplexCon that we're going to meet after the break here
- 21:35Speaker 1: on The Woody Show.
- 21:35Speaker 7: Hang on.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Smells like b-hole.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Smells like b-hole.
- 21:39Speaker 3: The Woody Show.
- 21:40Speaker 5: I'll be right back.
