- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: And with the six round draft pick, the photo vehicles had added another player and this time out of the university of Georgia, they go with guard, Mike Amores and round six pick number 207 overall, they were originally at pick 197 and they traded with the LA Rams when back 10 spots and acquired two extra seventh round picks so now they have two more seventh round picks to add or both all three seventh round picks.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: 251
- 0:39[SPEAKER_02]: and 252 so they move back from 197 to 207 and then here at 207 they take Mike Morris out of the University of Georgia.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: He started all 14 games last year at left guard for Georgia.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: He played in five games or started five games in 2020.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: By in our 1024 season at right guard so he's got
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: 335 pounds of senior at a Georgia.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: His hometown is Kingsland, Georgia.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: So Mike Amores has officially been added by the Philadelphia Eagles, the guard at a Georgia.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: One in doubt, what do you do?
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: You go back to the University of Georgia.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: When in doubt, you go back to the University of Georgia.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: So the Eagles finally go offensive line.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: They get a guy with a lot of experience at the guard position, potentially bolstering and giving them some depth on the interior of that offensive
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: We do have quite a bit of question marks right now with Land of Dickerson and Cam Jerven's both traveling over to Medi and Columbia this summer to get stem cell treatment in their back and in their legs and in all sorts of different areas because they are banged up on this on this team.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: So you get some insurance here for the interior of the offensive line in Mike Amoris.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let's read his
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: his draft profile, who you can see in 2024, he played in 12 games with five starts at right guard and then last year, 2025, he started all 14 games at left guard for the Georgia Bulldog.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: So he did have a lot of experience last year and then here's your analysis by Lance Zirline on the player.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: Morris has a rare blend of intelligence, power and movement,
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: talent.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: But the profile is a little too uneven.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: He plays with the sky high pad level and outside hands.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's very strong in his upper body and his relatively light on his feet as a move blocker.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: His broad frame can be tough to get around in protection, but his inconsistent base width could lead to leakage against athletic rushers.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: Playing in a lighter weight would make him more quick, more efficient and could be the key to making it in the league.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe needs to drop a couple pounds.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: They have them listed at 330.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: five, I believe it was, 334 pounds for him.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe he needs to lose a couple a little bit of weight there to play more nimble as Lance Irland writes here.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: In these strengths column, he has freaky weight room strength shows up on the field athletic for his size with the ability to adjust in space, uses size and nimble feet to climb and cover linebackers,
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: Sounds like an eagle eagle guard right there.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't it?
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Stones with stones that rush when landing hands directly in the frame, uses grip strength, the cinchup brushes who crowd them and keeps his pads over his toes when passing off a twist.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of good traits there and then in the weaknesses category you have pops upright after snap and stays that way throughout the play.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: Use of outside hands limits ability to control and sustain.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: consistent generating explosive contact at the point base narrows when mirroring the rush Dead-ins feet on contact allowing some leakage into gaps.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: So that's your full-scouting report on Mike Amores the latest guard drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles I will talk to Johnny Mack who has set the join me right now in the latest eagle strap pick
- 3:56[SPEAKER_02]: He comes in round six at 207 overall.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: They just traded back from 197 with the LA Rams and they added two picks in the 7th round.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now they have 244 251 and 252 left, which is relevant if they like someone drafted guys and maybe they'll now use picks on those guys instead of having to kind of compete with people.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: to pay those on drafted guys.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what they did there with those 7th round picks, but I will talk to McMillan and see what he thinks about that.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of Johnny Mac, I got him right now.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: He set the join me here on a special draft day edition.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: John the six round pick has landed.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: The Eagles go back to the University of Georgia and they take guard, Mike Amores, John.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: He started 14 games, all 14 games.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: last year for the Georgia Bulldogs at left guard, even started five games in 2024 at right guard, a lot of interior experience, John, for Mike Amores, or at least one full season, your reaction to the Eagles latest pick at 207 overall.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you got to get the Georgia guy, right?
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: So get him late in the six round, you know, one full time starter for one year as you mentioned, left guard has played some right guard previously.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: Big guy, a big powerful guy.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: mainly a power blocker we talked about all that, you know, the Stoutland sort of philosophy versus what we think they're going out this would seem more like a Stoutland guy and Jeff isn't here, you know, and we'll see what kind of movement skills he has.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: I do think, you know, the perception is he's got to lose some weight and maybe he's a little bit
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: two stiff and two upper body, place two high, people can get under his pads.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's, but I mean, more in day three, late in the six rounds.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: So as you mentioned, the Eagles traded down to get some more seventh round picks.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think Sean McBage just wanted to go home.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I heard what you're saying.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, at the bearment, I mean, most we've talked about not the strongest draft because of guys staying in college because of NIL, but what it does give you is that opportunity to say, hey, we'd like to get this guy's an undrafted free agent.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: You can draft him, you don't have to deal with the competition and maybe some other people, obviously it's going to be a little more expensive though if they make the team.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, mainly that late in the draft, you just have guys that you want to get in and want to get a look at this way you don't have to have that extra competition, but with all the uncertainty at guard with Land and Dickerson and obviously
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Tylerstein entering the final year of his rookie deal.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's good to get some bodies and populate, you know, Drew Kendall's there.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's got some center guard versatility.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles like him, Willie Lampkin, same thing.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: So, good to get an extra body in there and, you know, I think how he always likes to get George Alabama kids.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's worked very well for him.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know that about it.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: Johnny Mac, we're we are and I just want to remind everybody because I do think people get excited by the moment always, but we are in dark third territory fully.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I mean, you're in there when day three starts, we are fully in dark third territory.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: So there's not even a full guarantee.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: Some of these guys make the roster, but they did get those three extra seventh round picks and they do go guard here.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: How do you project Mike?
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: Do you just kind of a depth piece for the interior of that line, right?
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously a lot of uncertainty with land in the camp.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: But you don't see anything on the outside here with Mike right he's pretty big dude six five almost three and three and a 40 pounds or 30 and 35 pounds So pretty big dude got a neck
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's a power based player who, you know, it's, you know, does he have the mobility and, you know, a lot of people said he needs to lose a little bit of weight.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll, we'll see, but yeah, I mean, he's got to make the team into your point.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's not, you know, it's not like he's here and he's going to be a backup.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: They have a lot of back up offence blind and they took, remember, they took three last year and they also brought in a couple of guys, they brought in Willie Lampkin of waivers and they brought in Holland Pierce as an undrafted guy when it up sticking around the whole year.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: So they have a bunch of
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: a young offensive line and it's going to be a true competition as far as guys making the 53.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, no doubt about it.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_02]: John real quick.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: One question left for you.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you hold that mic up.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: John people say you're a little low.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_02]: John three picks now left.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: They have 244, which they got back in the Jonathan Grinart trade.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: They have 251 and 252, which they just acquired in the Rams trade back.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: So they got two extra late seventh round picks to trade back 10 spots.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: I know we talked about that, but that's is that basically what they do their job where there might be some undrafted guys that they think or that they want to take a shot at and instead of trying to compete, you know, for a contract with those guys you just kind of get those late seventh round picks and maybe use them there is that the thought process there with those final three picks.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, most likely, like I said, the given take is that, you know, if they do make the team, you have to pay them more, and you would have to pay an undrafted kids.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: There's a little bit of given take from that standpoint.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a little bit surprised that, you know, because how we talk to, uh,
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: you know like everybody basically every executive is said this is you know not the deepest draft and be he he mentioned the and I all stuff and guys staying in college because they're didn't paid more there um and that really hurt the back end so i'm a little bit surprising wanted to get two more picks so late but yeah me too you know maybe maybe he's got
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: positions in mind, maybe drafts a kicker now instead of waiting to get one of the undrafted guys.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, and you need an extra pick or two, but a little bit surprised that he did it.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: Is there any kickers out there on that that could fit the bill?
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I haven't, the kick, the kid from Florida is the best kicker.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: I forget his name.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't have it in front of me, but, um,
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's always, you know, most of the kickers go undrafted.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: There's a few that get drafted, but if you trace Mac, I believe is the Florida kicker, right?
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: So he's generally considered the best, and the Eagles have talked to him and done some due diligence, and maybe that's it.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you don't want to...
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: There might be four, five teams trying to sign him.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: after the draft ends.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: And if you pick him, you get that done.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: And you have the ability to let him compete.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: So just an example of why he may have done it.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: As we're speaking, I see the first punch.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Just went out the board.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: So as you get down here, that's sort of what teams do.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's a Jordan Milana type.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's one of those guys.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: It was just, you know, an international guy and he doesn't want to compete.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: It could be, and we'll see.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: But it was considering what he was talking about.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: Other than how he's, you know, he doesn't like to sit still.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: So he said, you know, coming in with three pegs, he just, you know, he likes to have stuff to do.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: So it might be just as simple as that.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, no doubt Johnny that little business on the air here.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: If things stay the same for the seventh round 244 51 and 52, I'll just get you on after all three of those picks, but unless obviously they trade up and make a different move or something like that, but if that's how it goes, we'll talk to you after the last three picks at the NFL draft.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for doing it right now.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: My friend will talk you a little later on.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: All right, see you all.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: All right, thanks Sean.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: There's Johnny Mac, John McMillan, join me right here on a special draft day edition.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's day three of the NFL draft.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: The Eagles just draft Mike Amores, guarded at the University of Georgia.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: Started 14 all 14 games last year at Left Guard for the Georgia Bulldogs.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: And he's got crazy strength.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that's dope.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: Excuse me, that's the big scouting report on him.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's gotten Matt.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: He's got crazy, weight room strength, Mike Amores.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I like to pick, I mean, you know, guys, we aren't guard for a territory.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I saw somebody come in here and they're like, oh, the day three's been horrible.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: You got to you have to change your your your you know your default expectation when you come into a day three of the draft like this, especially this year where it was talked about is it was a week day three Browns 4 through 7 were not heavy hitters not a lot of a depth there so you know you're you're taking shots here you're looking for guys with trade you're looking for guys with upside you're looking for backups you're looking for practice squad guys you're looking for special teams players it's a difference if different you know
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: goal and in day three, obviously, then it is in day one.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I think all and all it's been all right, they drafted coal patin at what once 78 and then 207, a draft like the Mars.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where they've gotten so far today, I think that a great day to all and I'll be back live after the rest of the day three haul, they three picks remaining.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: 244.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: 251 and 252.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: So 244 came courtesy of the Jonathan Grinar trade.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: We sent two, three, but we did get back that seventh rounder and we also just got back 51 and 251 and 252 from the Rams to go from 197 to 207.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: So they added 273 on picks to drop back 10 spots.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: in the six rounds.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where we stand.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: Three picks remain for the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: We will cover them all free here on Jacob Sports.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Once they happen, I'll be live in a little bit after those picks.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate all you guys watching.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: Hit that like button.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: See you next time, everybody.
