- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's almost famous podcast. We're here today.
- 0:07Speaker 3: I'm going to break down exactly what we did in
- 0:09Speaker 3: French Lick, Indiana. But today I have three incredible people,
- 0:13Speaker 3: incredible friends, and we just spent a couple of days
- 0:16Speaker 3: playing golf together. Now, golf is not a topic that
- 0:20Speaker 3: listeners love to listen about.
- 0:22Speaker 2: None of us are pros.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Nobody really cares about how good Dean is compared to me.
- 0:31Speaker 3: But I do want to talk with Joe, Zach and
- 0:36Speaker 3: Dean who are on this trip to French Lick. Now,
- 0:38Speaker 3: a little bit of background I mentioned a few weeks ago.
- 0:43Speaker 3: For years of my life, I bet it's been ten
- 0:45Speaker 3: years of my life. I've always dreamed of bringing my
- 0:50Speaker 3: friends together into one place to hang out with no
- 0:54Speaker 3: other expectation other than to be together. And the reason
- 0:57Speaker 3: for this is I feel lucky. I don't think every
- 1:00Speaker 3: already gets this opportunity. I feel lucky that I have
- 1:03Speaker 3: a lot of friends from all different stages of life
- 1:07Speaker 3: that I just really like, and a lot of them
- 1:09Speaker 3: I haven't seen in a while. And it gets harder
- 1:10Speaker 3: and harder to get together as we get older. Family,
- 1:14Speaker 3: star work starts, people move across the country. So I
- 1:19Speaker 3: invited forty two people to French Lick. Two people couldn't
- 1:24Speaker 3: make it. Forty dig come, including three of my favorites
- 1:29Speaker 3: from The Bachelor time in my life, as I mentioned, Zach, Joe,
- 1:32Speaker 3: and Dean, who are with us today.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Welcome guys, Hi, thank thanks for having me, Thanks for having us.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Ben.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Of course I'm going to start. We're all so awkward.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It's just like media.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Hi, thank you for being here. Now I want to start.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I think I'm going to start with Dean on this one. Dean,
- 1:55Speaker 3: the Bachelor obviously has a huge impact in your life
- 1:58Speaker 3: because of it leading you to your amazing wife, obviously
- 2:03Speaker 3: kind of leading us into friendship. So that's a big
- 2:07Speaker 3: plus for you and me. But am I wrong to
- 2:12Speaker 3: say that you don't exactly desire to still be integrated
- 2:16Speaker 3: in that world as much as some.
- 2:19Speaker 4: You're saying me personally?
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you personally, I mean, I just I guess.
- 2:24Speaker 6: That's that's probably true. They're it's just I'm not really Yeah,
- 2:30Speaker 6: that's true.
- 2:30Speaker 4: That's true. I'll just go with that. I'm just gonna
- 2:32Speaker 4: go with that's being true. Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Okay, So a trip pops up with with friends, but
- 2:38Speaker 3: people from The Bachelor, So Joey was there, Wells was there.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Then the three of us in addition to that, what like,
- 2:46Speaker 3: what kind of things do you still say yes to?
- 2:48Speaker 3: And do you say and yeah, that's not gonna be
- 2:50Speaker 3: my speed. This is you know, this is not a
- 2:52Speaker 3: group I want to associate with anymore.
- 2:54Speaker 6: Well, it's not even it's it's not that, it's just
- 2:57Speaker 6: you know, I love you so much. I would move
- 2:59Speaker 6: mountains for you if I was physically capable of doing it.
- 3:02Speaker 6: So when you invited me on the golf trip.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I was thrilled to be. I don't know that you
- 3:06Speaker 4: have forty two invites and forty yeses.
- 3:09Speaker 6: Is that is an incredible success rate with getting people
- 3:12Speaker 6: to come out to Indiana.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I think he should be really proud of that.
- 3:16Speaker 6: But no, I mean, obviously, you know, I think I
- 3:19Speaker 6: would jump at any chance I could get to play
- 3:21Speaker 6: golf with you and Joe and I met Zach for
- 3:23Speaker 6: the first time and that was a great experience too,
- 3:25Speaker 6: so and we kind of talked a little bit about
- 3:27Speaker 6: what you're asking right now, because you know, Zach's removed
- 3:30Speaker 6: himself a little bit. It's not like unconsciously removing myself
- 3:33Speaker 6: by the way. I love the show and what it's
- 3:37Speaker 6: given me, and I will do what I am able
- 3:41Speaker 6: to for them. It's just I don't really get has
- 3:43Speaker 6: to anymore. No one really cares about me, so you know,
- 3:47Speaker 6: it's kind of it's kind of that situation. But no,
- 3:50Speaker 6: this the Bachelor stuff, like you know, with you and Wells,
- 3:55Speaker 6: Zach and Joe and Joey. I think that was kind
- 3:57Speaker 6: of our Bachelor group that was there, all guys that
- 4:01Speaker 6: I love and I you know, I like most of
- 4:03Speaker 6: the people that I've met from the show anyway, So
- 4:06Speaker 6: if you did a full Bachelor, it's like forty people
- 4:08Speaker 6: from the Bachelor's style trip golf trip. I don't know
- 4:11Speaker 6: if I still say yes to it, because I could
- 4:13Speaker 6: hang out with you guys and play golf, but I'd
- 4:15Speaker 6: be a little less excited about it.
- 4:16Speaker 4: I guess.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Well, I tried to do that a few years ago
- 4:19Speaker 3: with Almost Famous, and I had like four people show up, So.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Actually, you know, you know what I do think.
- 4:25Speaker 6: I remember getting the like a loose invite for that,
- 4:29Speaker 6: and I was like, ah, I'm.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Probably not going to go to that.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm probably not going to make it.
- 4:34Speaker 3: You know I'm with you, though, I think the whole
- 4:38Speaker 3: purpose of me bringing you guys on today. I got
- 4:41Speaker 3: to meet Zach at an event we did with the
- 4:44Speaker 3: Solheim Cup and the LPGA last year, really for the
- 4:48Speaker 3: first time, and Joe and I have crossed pass and
- 4:53Speaker 3: I just have always enjoyed being around Joe. We've gone
- 4:56Speaker 3: on a few iHeart trips back in the day together.
- 4:58Speaker 3: But then you know, you picked up the clubs Joe
- 5:02Speaker 3: what two years ago and started playing full time a
- 5:05Speaker 3: year ago?
- 5:05Speaker 2: A year ago.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yeah, And I remember talking with Zach and him just
- 5:10Speaker 3: telling me that you you love this game, like this
- 5:13Speaker 3: has been something that you've invested a lot of time, effort,
- 5:17Speaker 3: money into over the last year. And so I was
- 5:20Speaker 3: pumped to play with you because it's really fun to
- 5:24Speaker 3: see somebody invest so much into a game that I've
- 5:26Speaker 3: loved for so long and still don't get much better at.
- 5:29Speaker 7: Yeah. I become addicted to things that I'm really bad at,
- 5:34Speaker 7: and like I'm really bad at golf. So I'm like, Okay,
- 5:37Speaker 7: well I'm gonna give this a few years and see
- 5:40Speaker 7: if I could actually get better. But it's and like
- 5:43Speaker 7: every golfer says, it's like that one shot that keeps
- 5:46Speaker 7: you coming back where you're like, oh damn, like I'm
- 5:50Speaker 7: I'm good at this game, like I'm good at golf,
- 5:52Speaker 7: and then you go up and then you go back
- 5:54Speaker 7: out there and you can't hit. But I think it's
- 5:56Speaker 7: also one of those things where I'm getting older, I'm married,
- 6:00Speaker 7: I'm really just kind of like the going out part
- 6:03Speaker 7: of my life is basically over. So it's like, what
- 6:05Speaker 7: what else is there to do? And it's you know,
- 6:08Speaker 7: you go to the gym, you run what, you try
- 6:11Speaker 7: to make money to the best of your abilities, and
- 6:14Speaker 7: it was just it's just like a social event that
- 6:17Speaker 7: I can now do, like all my friends golf, and
- 6:20Speaker 7: I've seen you guys post about golf a lot, so
- 6:23Speaker 7: you know, I'm like, oh man, feeling left out. I
- 6:25Speaker 7: want to get involved in this. So yeah, and I
- 6:28Speaker 7: love it. I'm addicted and I got Oberg to when
- 6:31Speaker 7: the US Open. We'll see how that goes.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Joe's really that's a loser, Yeah for sure. No, I
- 6:39Speaker 2: love that all of us are probably.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I mean, it's on my iPad right here, like I
- 6:44Speaker 3: got it up right now, there's no chance of missing it.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Jaws impressed.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I mean again then we're not going to talk about
- 6:49Speaker 3: golf in detail this whole time. But I was impressed
- 6:52Speaker 3: with your game, Uh, not just impressed, like very very
- 6:56Speaker 3: just kind of in awe of somebody picking up golf
- 6:59Speaker 3: clubs a year and being able to get it around
- 7:02Speaker 3: a golf course is not an easy thing for anybody.
- 7:06Speaker 3: And and so the whole time I was when I
- 7:08Speaker 3: got to play with you, was watching being like this
- 7:11Speaker 3: guy you have, you're never gonna stop playing this game
- 7:15Speaker 3: because all of a sudden it's gonna switch and you're
- 7:18Speaker 3: you're never going to be able to get away from it.
- 7:20Speaker 3: You're like very close to having way too much fun
- 7:23Speaker 3: doing it.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I'm right there.
- 7:25Speaker 7: I'm right there.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I'm so close.
- 7:26Speaker 6: I was telling Joe and Zach as well that they're
- 7:30Speaker 6: going to kind of been like the most fun spot
- 7:32Speaker 6: of golf in my opinion, where you know, like you've
- 7:35Speaker 6: been for instance, as like a I don't know, if
- 7:37Speaker 6: you're five handicaps something around there, you have to work
- 7:40Speaker 6: really really hard to shave a stroke off your handicap.
- 7:42Speaker 6: Zach and Joe only have to go out and play
- 7:44Speaker 6: golf right like consistently, and they're going to shave fifteen
- 7:47Speaker 6: strokes off their handicap. You know, Yeah, that's a really
- 7:50Speaker 6: fun time. I feel like for that for that to be, Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I don't get better now, Like I haven't gotten better.
- 7:55Speaker 3: I only get worse. And I don't like that's not
- 7:57Speaker 3: joking because you kind of each the pinnacle of your
- 8:01Speaker 3: game and then there's no way but backwards. And to
- 8:04Speaker 3: get from like a five to a two takes something
- 8:08Speaker 3: that like I haven't yet found no matter how much
- 8:11Speaker 3: time I put into it.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it just doesn't exist, Zach.
- 8:16Speaker 3: You know, I I gave these gifts, these Pennon They're
- 8:20Speaker 3: they're called penn and AS's headcovers, and I it's it's
- 8:25Speaker 3: a really cool brand. If if you ever are needing
- 8:27Speaker 3: like a Father's Day gift or a brother in law
- 8:30Speaker 3: gift or whatever for somebody that golfs, I would recommend
- 8:33Speaker 3: pennen Aces. Just check them out. They do these all
- 8:36Speaker 3: these unique head covers. I bet they have two hundred
- 8:38Speaker 3: different unique headcovers that they design and they throw out
- 8:41Speaker 3: there on their website. And so for the for the guys,
- 8:44Speaker 3: I thought it would be fun to go through and
- 8:47Speaker 3: buy a headcover that reminded me of each person I
- 8:51Speaker 3: got Dan one because I think he's a traveler. I
- 8:54Speaker 3: think he has this like just spirit h that is
- 9:01Speaker 3: needs to be in the wild.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Okay, I was gonna say I didn't. I wouldn't think
- 9:05Speaker 4: you would remember what you got me.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Do you remember, Yeah, I got you a leopard?
- 9:09Speaker 4: You got me a leopard? Good memory? Do you remember
- 9:11Speaker 4: everyone's that you got?
- 9:12Speaker 1: Oh?
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 9:13Speaker 3: These like I spent probably a week picking out these
- 9:16Speaker 3: gifts for each person, going through the website, kind of
- 9:20Speaker 3: thinking about what reminds me of each person. I got
- 9:22Speaker 3: Joe one that was the Ninja turtles because there's a
- 9:25Speaker 3: I wanted to get him something Italian and I was
- 9:27Speaker 3: hoping there's like a pasta dish, but there wasn't. And
- 9:30Speaker 3: so I was like, Ninja turtles are gonna work.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he goes, he goes, he goes.
- 9:33Speaker 7: I got you Ninja turtles. They're Italian.
- 9:35Speaker 8: I said, Summer is the season of love. Some are loving.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Here we come.
- 9:49Speaker 9: If you're old enough to remember, some are loving, you're
- 9:51Speaker 9: old enough to find and I do Part two. Listen
- 9:54Speaker 9: each week as our host make it their goal to
- 9:57Speaker 9: find you the next true love of your life.
- 10:00Speaker 8: Any Garth, Jana Kramer.
- 10:01Speaker 9: Alexia Napola, Cheryl Burke, Jen Fessler, Kelly Ben Simone, Amy Robock,
- 10:06Speaker 9: and TJ. Holmes are dedicated to helping you fall in
- 10:09Speaker 9: love again. It's time to make it hot Hot Hut
- 10:13Speaker 9: this summer.
- 10:14Speaker 7: Listen to I Do Part two on the iHeartRadio app,
- 10:17Speaker 7: Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Zach's one, and I think all of us can attest
- 10:28Speaker 3: to this. He's doing great things in this world, and
- 10:33Speaker 3: he is changing the world through the work that he does.
- 10:37Speaker 3: And so it's just been fun to kind of witness
- 10:39Speaker 3: and be around you, Zach, as you are so busy
- 10:43Speaker 3: in leading this incredible organization and also running all the time.
- 10:47Speaker 3: And so I guess my question for you is, in
- 10:49Speaker 3: the midst of a very busy life with a lot
- 10:53Speaker 3: of responsibilities, why do you say yes to a trip
- 10:56Speaker 3: with like this? And then why is golf kind of
- 10:59Speaker 3: your escape outside of like running a marathon and leading
- 11:04Speaker 3: people through recovery and all the other things you do.
- 11:08Speaker 10: Yeah, no, thanks Ben for having me.
- 11:10Speaker 5: Just to be clear, Ben gave me an Abraham Lincoln headcover.
- 11:15Speaker 10: I can basically never cheat in golf again. I see that.
- 11:18Speaker 5: It's like I'm screwed, Like there's no there's no like
- 11:21Speaker 5: I'm gonna take a six year it's like put the
- 11:22Speaker 5: belt down. But no, I mean like, look for me,
- 11:28Speaker 5: golf is just a vehicle to the hang right, Like
- 11:30Speaker 5: That's that's why I do any of these things, is
- 11:33Speaker 5: to hopefully see old friends and make some new ones.
- 11:36Speaker 5: And it was awesome to spend Dean is just like
- 11:39Speaker 5: good energy, so it was good to kind of hang
- 11:41Speaker 5: with him for a minute. And obviously me and Joe
- 11:43Speaker 5: spent a lot of time here in the city, and
- 11:45Speaker 5: you know, it just it just leads some more opportunity.
- 11:48Speaker 5: I mean, like Wells and I were out playing last weekend.
- 11:50Speaker 5: So I just feel like in this day and age,
- 11:53Speaker 5: to be able to go out there. Like I really
- 11:55Speaker 5: put the phone down for those couple of days in
- 11:57Speaker 5: French Lick, like I wasn't checking. I was pres and
- 12:01Speaker 5: you know, the game probably wasn't where like I wanted.
- 12:03Speaker 4: It to be.
- 12:04Speaker 10: But That's not what I'm gonna remember about the trip.
- 12:06Speaker 5: It's it's that and my almost hole in one, which
- 12:09Speaker 5: I'm still losing sleepover.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so Zach had a moment where a group was
- 12:14Speaker 3: of our friends were playing in front of him. It
- 12:17Speaker 3: was kind of a blind part three where you couldn't
- 12:20Speaker 3: see the green. He gits an incredible shot.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Well, first of all, we're playing a five ball and
- 12:26Speaker 5: I'm the worst golfer in the group, right. So it's Dean,
- 12:29Speaker 5: Joey Wells and Wells's buddy from Ole Miss and the
- 12:33Speaker 5: four guys hit and we're playing a friendly match and Joey,
- 12:37Speaker 5: who's on my team, basically says like we shouldn't we shouldn't.
- 12:40Speaker 10: Have dropped the hammer, like we already lost this hole.
- 12:42Speaker 10: And I turned him.
- 12:43Speaker 5: I said, like, I still got a shoot, bro, I
- 12:46Speaker 5: still gotta go.
- 12:47Speaker 10: Like that is not the energy we need right now, and.
- 12:50Speaker 5: So I throw it up on the hill and it's
- 12:51Speaker 5: like trickling, you can go, Ben, But.
- 12:53Speaker 2: It was no.
- 12:55Speaker 3: It was trickling towards the cup. Everybody starts cheering. That's
- 12:58Speaker 3: up on the green watching, so you think it went
- 13:00Speaker 3: the hole.
- 13:01Speaker 10: Wells and I got halfway to the green. We were Mike.
- 13:04Speaker 5: I was like, I was like leap braveheart style, charging
- 13:07Speaker 5: the green with my potter in the air. And then
- 13:10Speaker 5: halfway there, I see someone go like this and I'm like,
- 13:14Speaker 5: what just happened?
- 13:15Speaker 10: I hit a hole?
- 13:16Speaker 5: And I thought, you know, so it was very embarrassing,
- 13:18Speaker 5: and but that's why you show up and whatever.
- 13:21Speaker 10: It'll keep me back. Yeah, that trip.
- 13:24Speaker 6: I had a lot of great memories on that trip,
- 13:26Speaker 6: but that moment was the thing I'll probably remember the
- 13:29Speaker 6: most as well.
- 13:31Speaker 4: You like, just just the other group.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Cheering and then you and well sprinting ahead with your
- 13:36Speaker 6: hands in the air like clubs all over the place,
- 13:38Speaker 6: and then all of a sudden they give you that
- 13:40Speaker 6: it didn't.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Go in sign I was.
- 13:42Speaker 6: I felt for you in that moment, because there's nothing
- 13:44Speaker 6: worse that thinking you got it and then halfway up
- 13:46Speaker 6: realizing that it didn't go in.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I think they felt I think they felt for Zech too.
- 13:51Speaker 3: They felt really bad about about leading him on the
- 13:56Speaker 3: as we we kind of close up here. Uh, let's
- 14:00Speaker 3: iving a little bit to the Bachelor world, obviously, Dean.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I think you said it perfectly.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I have nothing against the bat I would love to
- 14:06Speaker 3: go back and do anything to a certain degree that
- 14:09Speaker 3: they want, because I do have a lot of respect
- 14:12Speaker 3: for the show. It did so many great things for
- 14:14Speaker 3: me personally. It led me to great friendships and great people,
- 14:18Speaker 3: and I've met a lot of people on the show
- 14:19Speaker 3: that I do like. I think there is it feels
- 14:22Speaker 3: like at this age of my life though, And I
- 14:25Speaker 3: don't know if this is good or bad. If you
- 14:26Speaker 3: don't golf, it's hard for me to hang out with
- 14:28Speaker 3: you too often because it's something it's when I have
- 14:32Speaker 3: free time or a day off, It's typically where I
- 14:36Speaker 3: want to be is on a golf course. And so
- 14:39Speaker 3: I do think the people in this bachelor world, it
- 14:44Speaker 3: wasn't a do I like you or not kind of invite,
- 14:46Speaker 3: it's do you golf?
- 14:48Speaker 2: And then do I like you? But mostly do you golf?
- 14:53Speaker 3: I think my question for all whoever wants to answer
- 14:56Speaker 3: it is what about this game?
- 14:59Speaker 2: And and what is it?
- 15:00Speaker 3: I guess what does it feel like to be a
- 15:03Speaker 3: part of something that has no expectations on her?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Right?
- 15:06Speaker 3: There isn't this expectation of we got a post on
- 15:09Speaker 3: social media. We this golf trip has to blow up
- 15:13Speaker 3: so that you know, we get more famous from it
- 15:16Speaker 3: or get some attention from it. It's just really, like
- 15:19Speaker 3: Zach said, a hang, what does that feel like in
- 15:22Speaker 3: this world surrounded by bachelor people? Because I think that's unique.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I think it's unique to be in an environment where
- 15:30Speaker 3: there's no expectations and we're just hanging out as friends.
- 15:34Speaker 7: I yeah, I think it's great. It's like I don't
- 15:37Speaker 7: see Dean and he's the first thing he does is
- 15:39Speaker 7: pick up his phone and take a selfie of being him,
- 15:41Speaker 7: you know, like we just don't we don't do that.
- 15:43Speaker 7: And I think, like it's just it's it feels like
- 15:47Speaker 7: I'm just hanging out with my friends back home, because
- 15:50Speaker 7: it's kind of the same. So its just it feels
- 15:52Speaker 7: it's relaxing and you could actually be like Zach said,
- 15:57Speaker 7: you can put your phone down and be in the moment.
- 15:58Speaker 7: And I feel like when you are around not to
- 16:01Speaker 7: talk about anybody, but when you do anything that's related events,
- 16:06Speaker 7: usually posting is some part of that deal. So and
- 16:11Speaker 7: like I'm not the greatest at posting on social media anyways.
- 16:15Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean I just really enjoy it.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean same for me.
- 16:18Speaker 6: I feel like one of the reasons that Ben you
- 16:20Speaker 6: and I became such good friends, and same with with
- 16:22Speaker 6: Wells is when I was living in La Wells and
- 16:25Speaker 6: I could play a lot of golf together and then
- 16:28Speaker 6: you know, whenever we see each other, it's all come
- 16:30Speaker 6: to Denver and we'll play Bear Creek, which you know,
- 16:32Speaker 6: I love that course obviously, so it's nice kind of
- 16:35Speaker 6: like you guys have already touched on all these points,
- 16:37Speaker 6: but like I.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Agree with what you said earlier.
- 16:40Speaker 6: You know, my all my main friends in life now
- 16:42Speaker 6: are people that I play golf with, and a lot
- 16:44Speaker 6: of my best friends from when I was younger I
- 16:46Speaker 6: don't see as often because if we're not especially like
- 16:48Speaker 6: in the summer, you know, if we're not golfing, it's
- 16:52Speaker 6: kind of it's not like it's hard to find something
- 16:53Speaker 6: to do, but that's just like what I would prefer
- 16:55Speaker 6: to do in my spare time. So it's great to
- 16:59Speaker 6: be able to use golf as a vehicle to foster
- 17:02Speaker 6: friendships and meet new people. Like I met a lot
- 17:05Speaker 6: of your friends in Indiana for the first time and
- 17:06Speaker 6: they're all amazing as well. And you know, to see
- 17:10Speaker 6: Zach and Joe and be able to play golf with
- 17:11Speaker 6: them competitively too. You know, it's fun to be able
- 17:15Speaker 6: to compete in your thirties for something and gamble a little.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Bit, you know, five bucks a hole, whatever it might be.
- 17:21Speaker 6: It doesn't have to be a lot, but as long
- 17:22Speaker 6: as there's something at stake, it always makes it a
- 17:24Speaker 6: little more interesting and more exciting and kind of, like
- 17:27Speaker 6: you said, you know, we're gonna be playing this game
- 17:28Speaker 6: for the rest of our lives, and it's good to
- 17:30Speaker 6: be able to play it with people that you like and.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Just Y's fun.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Man.
- 17:34Speaker 10: It was a testament to you.
- 17:35Speaker 5: I mean, like you made it very clear from the
- 17:37Speaker 5: outset that this was not there was no obligation to
- 17:41Speaker 5: do anything like if we wanted to share some things,
- 17:44Speaker 5: that would be cool, because I think there was some
- 17:47Speaker 5: help that we kind of got from some of the
- 17:49Speaker 5: people you were playing a trip with, so we all
- 17:51Speaker 5: I think we all did our part in that, which
- 17:53Speaker 5: is like it was respectful and it wasn't over the
- 17:55Speaker 5: top and wake Tean like, I mean, like, I'm very
- 18:00Speaker 5: grateful for the opportunity to have been on the show
- 18:02Speaker 5: and meet new people. And that's really kind of like
- 18:04Speaker 5: what life is all about. And I think like whenever
- 18:08Speaker 5: I walk into a group, like I have a choice
- 18:10Speaker 5: to hopefully or an opportunity to hopefully meet some people
- 18:14Speaker 5: that I can get along with and hang with.
- 18:15Speaker 10: And that's what I found in this world, just like
- 18:17Speaker 10: any other world.
- 18:18Speaker 3: It was fun for me selfishly, it was great because
- 18:22Speaker 3: my dad was there, my father in law was there,
- 18:24Speaker 3: high school buddies, middle school buddies' college friends. It's just
- 18:27Speaker 3: cool to see everybody hanging out and at night. We
- 18:30Speaker 3: obviously hit up the casino. A little shout to french Lick.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Not a place that I think many will when it
- 18:36Speaker 3: came up on like the list of where we could
- 18:39Speaker 3: go for a golf trip. I don't think french Lick
- 18:41Speaker 3: is necessarily popping off. I would say this, and I
- 18:46Speaker 3: have no obligation to say this. I thought the three
- 18:48Speaker 3: courses we played were absolutely incredible for a golf trip.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I thought the accommodations were awesome. And then there's a
- 18:54Speaker 3: casino right there on property that we spent the evenings at,
- 18:58Speaker 3: and if you gamble or not, we had TV's going,
- 19:01Speaker 3: the playoffs, NBA Playoffs were on. We're all hanging out together.
- 19:06Speaker 3: I think it's the perfect spot to do what I
- 19:09Speaker 3: was hoping to do, which is just to get people
- 19:11Speaker 3: to spend time together for a few days without you know,
- 19:16Speaker 3: any distractions, to put the phones away, to get to
- 19:19Speaker 3: catch up, to get to play a little golf competitively.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I am a massive fan of it. It's the only thing
- 19:25Speaker 3: I do today really with a group of people that
- 19:29Speaker 3: I can get competitive against them on And I'll be honest,
- 19:33Speaker 3: if you add Joey and Wells into this and then
- 19:35Speaker 3: three of you, there's probably like, there's very few people
- 19:39Speaker 3: I would want to beat on a golf course more
- 19:41Speaker 3: than the five of you, like I want to. I
- 19:43Speaker 3: want to come out on top against everybody, but especially
- 19:48Speaker 3: you five because I just think it means a little
- 19:52Speaker 3: more to me.
- 19:54Speaker 7: Yeah, well, wait till next next year, because I'm still
- 19:58Speaker 7: gonna be rolling in with a high handicap on my swings.
- 20:01Speaker 2: My swing's getting better. About the worst.
- 20:04Speaker 7: The worst part about me is there is a part
- 20:07Speaker 7: of me that is like, maybe you could go pro,
- 20:11Speaker 7: like every.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Time I have every night. I think all of us
- 20:14Speaker 2: have that thought. And it's a it's a.
- 20:16Speaker 7: Serious issue because I could barely hit the ball.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Not not if you living, not if you keep living.
- 20:21Speaker 5: I mean, I've been sitting out of twelve for ten years.
- 20:25Speaker 5: You can't practice. You go to Chelsea Piers. It's it's
- 20:27Speaker 5: two dollars a swing.
- 20:28Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 20:31Speaker 3: The uh golf trip uh dot Ai also helped us
- 20:35Speaker 3: plan that. I want to give a shout out to them.
- 20:37Speaker 3: French Lick Indiana one hundred percent recommend for any golf trip,
- 20:41Speaker 3: you will not have a bad time. Do you guys agree?
- 20:43Speaker 3: Did it live up to expectations? This again, you have
- 20:46Speaker 3: no obligation to say it did.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Loved it. I had a great time.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was great.
- 20:52Speaker 6: The courses were amazing, a lot more challenging than I
- 20:56Speaker 6: think that I'm used to, at least here in Colorado.
- 20:58Speaker 6: You know, they're they're longer than the course of in Colorado,
- 21:00Speaker 6: and the ball doesn't fly quite as far because it's
- 21:02Speaker 6: set six hundred feet elevation. So it's it was really
- 21:07Speaker 6: interesting to play out there. And that's kind of the
- 21:09Speaker 6: tricky thing playing with you guys is you guys all
- 21:11Speaker 6: hit the ball so far and I don't really hit
- 21:13Speaker 6: it very far. So I'm hitting driver three wood into
- 21:15Speaker 6: a par four while Wells is hitting a driver for
- 21:18Speaker 6: eight iron, you know. So that part was a little challenging.
- 21:21Speaker 6: But the courses were great. It's it's it's way more
- 21:24Speaker 6: fun to to play a challenging course like that, in
- 21:27Speaker 6: my opinion, than to play like a course that's overly easy.
- 21:30Speaker 6: So the golf was amazing. The casino was great. It
- 21:33Speaker 6: was cool to see Joe in his element, and and
- 21:35Speaker 6: and thriving in the casino and the Pacers, games Man,
- 21:39Speaker 6: the pace with you guys, that.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Was amazing as well. So yeah, top to bottom as
- 21:43Speaker 4: good as it possibly could have been.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Great.
- 21:45Speaker 3: It was a great place, guys. I'm so thankful that
- 21:49Speaker 3: you said yes to it. You're you're good people, You're
- 21:53Speaker 3: good friends to many more years of this. We got
- 21:58Speaker 3: to come up with a name. I'm open to do
- 22:00Speaker 3: names because I don't think we're gonna be able to
- 22:01Speaker 3: do this in Indiana forever, even though I'd love to.
- 22:05Speaker 3: But we got to come up with a good name
- 22:07Speaker 3: for this trip because it's a way for us still
- 22:11Speaker 3: to get together. Dean, Zach, Joe. Any last closing words
- 22:17Speaker 3: for anybody listening when it comes to friendships in the
- 22:21Speaker 3: Bachelor world or golf trips.
- 22:24Speaker 6: No, No, I'm really grateful to know you, Ben, because
- 22:27Speaker 6: that helps me get to hang out with these guys
- 22:29Speaker 6: more often. It's really cool to see you with your
- 22:33Speaker 6: forty friends that you invite to a trip like that,
- 22:36Speaker 6: because everyone was amazing, and that's a testament to you
- 22:38Speaker 6: and the people that you are able to get around you.
- 22:41Speaker 6: I think that was an amazing experience, and I'm excited
- 22:45Speaker 6: for more. I hope we can do this or something
- 22:48Speaker 6: like this once a year or more. You know, every
- 22:52Speaker 6: time I see you in Wells go on like one
- 22:53Speaker 6: of these program trips, I always get very very jealous
- 22:56Speaker 6: on the inside, and I make sure to express it
- 22:57Speaker 6: outwardly as well. But yeah, it was great, and I
- 23:01Speaker 6: hope we got to do it a million times again.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I will say, when you say that you're jealous, I
- 23:07Speaker 3: would be jealous too, Like I get it, like I
- 23:09Speaker 3: feel for you. I don't know what to do about it.
- 23:11Speaker 3: There's like I have no control, but I get it
- 23:15Speaker 3: and I feel it. And if I was on the
- 23:17Speaker 3: outside of that and there I am on some of
- 23:19Speaker 3: those things like the American Century, I'm always jealous. I
- 23:22Speaker 3: don't even watch anymore because I just get mad. I'm
- 23:24Speaker 3: not mad at the people there. I just get sad
- 23:27Speaker 3: that I'm not there in Tahoe. So maybe we can
- 23:30Speaker 3: create our own little Tahoe and you all will have the.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Invite every year.
- 23:34Speaker 3: We'll just we'll do it on our own, because if
- 23:36Speaker 3: people don't invite you to something, you just got to
- 23:38Speaker 3: create it. And I'm with you. The courses that we
- 23:42Speaker 3: played were very challenging.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Dean.
- 23:43Speaker 2: My dad told me yesterday. I talked to him and
- 23:46Speaker 2: he goes.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I think you're trying to completely annihilate any confidence I
- 23:50Speaker 3: ever had on the golf course because of French lick.
- 23:53Speaker 3: And then we played Congressional this week together. He said,
- 23:57Speaker 3: this is getting to be really frustrating for me, and
- 24:01Speaker 3: I said, hey, just makes you better, Dad, Just keep grinding.
- 24:04Speaker 3: You know what, There's room for improvement even in your sixties. Gentlemen,
- 24:08Speaker 3: you're the best. I appreciate you. Thanks for coming on.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Thank you.
