- Roc: And we are live. JSP back, another Thursday morning drop. You got rock, you got C dub on the mics. Hoping that you guys are having a beautiful Thursday morning. We're gonna start that off Thursday afternoon, Thursday night, whenever you may be listening to this, but before week seven of the NFL starts, right? So C-Dub: Hell yeah. Roc: we got a nice slate, we got some good matchups we wanna we wanna preview, and we got a nice little fun game from dub at the end. So let's just let's just get right into it. Thursday night football. Pats at Bears. Chicago two and a half point favorites with an overunder of fifty and a half dub. C-Dub: this is a game where I this is I this is a game where I think it'll be you know, I'm I'm just wording it wrong. This is gonna be a great game, in my opinion. This will be a hell of a game. And what I wrote down here is do the NFC teams of can they afford to lose? The NFC North. Roc: Yeah, dude. That division C-Dub: Like, it's crazy. I'm gonna say this every time I see an NFC North team in a game this week, but like it's playoff implications at this point. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: It's it's crazy. Is it like you could chalk this up to a Bears must win with them being at number number three in their division and being as good as they are. Roc: That that's why I said when we did the pretenders or contenders, it really depends on when Caleb comes back, because I don't think that they they could have afforded him missing four or five weeks in that division, honestly. So the fact that he's back is obviously huge. And yeah, I agree. I think that this game's gonna be one of one of the ones. A nice little standalone Thursday night game to get the week going going early. Fifty and a half line, I kinda love the over. It is in Chicago, so I wanna see what the weather's like. It could be one of those windy, windy city n type of nights and that could affect the what the playing field's like. But I kinda love the over in this game. I think it will be a lot of points. C-Dub: I do too. I do too. I mean, Bears defense hasn't been playing well. I'm gonna be taking a Patriots receiver yards, not AJ Brown. I'm probably gonna take Dobbs Dobbs yards for this one. Just cause I just cause I know that Drake May will probably have some time in the pocket and exploit that defense. I mean other than that though, I think this will be a great game. Chicago, two and a half point favorites. I guess it does depend if it is bare weather for me. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: if we're I mean, do you have anything else to say? 'Cause I I already got my winner picked. Roc: I think it's gonna be an AJ Brown game. I can't lie. I think it is. I think I think they they targeted him so much last week and it was so ugly. But I think that this week they're gonna do the same. They're gonna target him, but this time it's gonna it's gonna work out. It's gonna click and it's gonna look gonna look good. Well I'll we'll have our official plays up tomorrow before the game. I don't know officially what I'm going with, but I kinda love AJ Brown AJ Brown big game tomorrow. Can't lie. C-Dub: I don't mind receptions, possibly. Gotta see where it's at. It's probably probably still pretty high. I mean, granted, Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I mean he hasn't been playing like the AJ Brown that we know and that we love. But yeah, this one will be interesting. My outright winner here though I'm picking the Bears. Roc: I'm also rolling with the Bears. Duh Bears. I'm rolling with the Bears. C-Dub: Yeah. And I think they cover too. I mean if we're gonna go that far into it. Roc: I do like them in this game. I think the Pats are hot right now, like really hot. But I think at home in Chicago, I think they're getting Monungai back, I believe, which is a huge help for that run game. And I think now that they got the Iceman back, they're gonna be they're gonna be in good spirits and they're gonna they're gonna keep rolling. So I I like the Bears. C-Dub: No, for sure. Roc: Then the first game we got on Sunday, we have Bengals at Ravens, Ravens two and a half point favorites with an overunder of fifty one and a half. C-Dub: I'm gonna keep saying this the entire episode, but this also has huge implications. Roc: Yeah, AFC North battle. I I I love I I feel like every AFC North game's always always gonna be a highlighted one, always gonna be a a topic of conversation between us. I just I love that division. They they can do it either way. They can score over games or they can muck it up like what was it, the Ravens and Browns last week, ugly games is still entertaining somehow. I really don't understand this line though. Baltimore two and a half point favorites I'm I don't believe Lamar Jackson's playing. C-Dub: Yeah, I I'm not sh yeah. Roc: It's still up in the air. If he's if he's out again for the third straight week, I don't I don't really like the Ravens as favorites, especially with how they looked against the Browns. But obviously that's that's different if he if he's a go, but I I yeah, I don't know. That was some that was my first first note on this game. I don't know what you had, Doug. C-Dub: Yeah, no, I'm assuming Lamar is back if they're gonna be favorites. Vegas always knows more than the doctors, it seems like. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: They always seem to be in the the medical rooms and and know before anyone else does. but my my take here is unlike the Bears, I I don't think the I don't think the Ravens are in a panic push the panic button level yet with how the division looks. I mean, they're still a good team. I think when Lamar comes back they'll be good. But they do need the a division win, desperately. Roc: Yeah, yeah. C-Dub: but with that all that being said, even if Lamar's back, I do still like the Bengals. With the one caveat of they haven't had like that marquee win yet. They've beat Tampa Bay, a floundering Texans team in the beginning of the season, and then Miami. Those are their three. So like Roc: Miami. Yeah. C-Dub: not not too impressive, but coming off of bye, I think they beat a Ravens team even if they have a rusty Lamar. Roc: Yeah, I like i I hate that we're in lockstep right now because that normally doesn't pan out well. But I I C-Dub: We are th this is not good. Yeah, this is Roc: also like the Bengals a lot in this game actually. Coming off by extra rest. Ravens coming off of a game, another interdivision game against the Browns. That was a physical hard hitting game. I I yeah, I like the Bengals and I I I love this line. If I'm a if I'm a Cincinnati fan, coming off coming off a bye, coming off Burroughs best week, him and Jamar We're in lockstep, granite. It was it was Miami two weeks ago. Still, they they look good on offense. And I just wanted to note Cincinnati's defense, right? Beginning of the year we were high on them, and then they went downhill and we were like, it's same old Cincinnati. Kind of crazy. The Bengals ranked third in sack rate and fifth in pressure rate this year in the entire league. I I for some reason I still don't think that they're that good of a defense. Maybe it's the opponents that they're playing in the wins that they're getting, like we said, Miami, Tampa and Houston early on. So like maybe the numbers are a little inflated, but that was kind of staggering to me. Third in sacks sack rate and fifth in pressures, that's that's that makes me love them even more. C-Dub: That that's the thing though, I think with the comp they've been having, that stat might be a little skewed. However, if if that defense and those those stats, like you said, hey, last week, men lie, women lie. Would you stats? Was So Roc: That's don't lie. C-Dub: if they get this if I would call this a b a huge win for them. If they get this big win and the defense shows up, hey. I mean, maybe maybe maybe maybe with they flip the script. I think that would Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: be that'd be a way to change the conversation around this defense. I had a I did I did have a question for you, even though we are in lockstep and that is really concerning. Bengals rushing game. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Seven seventh seventh fewest. Rush r Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: rush yards per game. Could you I want you to let's play a game. Guess their longest rush of the season. Roc: It's gonna be crazy. I'm gonna say like Joe Burrow for a gain of twelve. C-Dub: Thirteen yards. Thirteen yards the longest rush. I mean, my whole th my my question to you, I mean, you you kinda already touched on it, is does this pass game have enough to beat the Ravens on the road? And I would say yes, with how they've been looking. Roc: Yeah. I I forget what week it might have been 'cause they were they were coming off the bye. It might have been the Miami week. It might have been the week before. I forget who the Bengals played, but the reporter or it was against the Steelers and the reporters asked like right after the game, why'd you guys just stop with the run game? 'Cause I'm pretty sure the second half, the Bengals only had one rush attempt the entire second half. And pretty much Joe Burrow just stood up on the table and was like, Do you not understand I'm the quarterback? Like I I trust myself. I trust this passing game and I don't trust this running game at all. So as long as Burrow's confident, I'm confident in it. Even though I don't think that's a formula for suc for success, if you want to have an actual balanced and balanced offensive attack, you need to be able to run the rock to open up passing lanes. But if he's if he's confident in himself and the guys he's got around in the offensive line protecting him, who am I to say that Joey B doesn't have it unlocks? C-Dub: Yeah. And before we move on regardless, I'm thinking Hendrickson gets a sack. Roc: All right, yeah, revenge game. Love it. Why not? Throw it out there. That C-Dub: Revenge game. I'm taking to get a sack. Why not? Roc: was a good good Yeah. Didn't even think about that name's been really quiet this year, I can't lie. C-Dub: It has, it has. He's gonna get a sack. This g I mean this might be might be a game where he goes off against his former team. There's o there was Roc: You calling a dub a br a breakout game? Is this a breakout game dub? C-Dub: I don't know if it's a breakout game, but I mean if it's if it's a game to have a breakout, it's this one. No f breakout game. Breakout game. Let's let's let's just do it. Let's just do it. I mean Roc: Love it. Yeah, yeah. I was teasing you. I was teasing you. C-Dub: I mean, I they have a middle of the pack passing D. Maybe they make Burrow uncomfortable a little bit. He'll get home a few times. I and I mean th I think there is some real animosity 'cause he's always he was always sitting out. There's always contract talks. They ship out. I mean, yeah, why not get aggressive? Why not let out your frustrations? Roc: Yeah. I love it. I love that take, dub. I love it. C-Dub: Rage that hey, might be a rage room back there, you know? Might be a rage room. Roc: Never know. C-Dub: You never know. Roc: Next matchup we got forty niners at Falcons. Forty Niners, three and a half point favorites, an over-under of fifty and a half. And the Niners are looking to stay undefeated and be six they're six and for the first time since twenty nineteen when they started eight and They're looking to continue the undefeated streak. Dub, what do you got on this? C-Dub: my h my whole thing was I mean, the Monday night game, I mean down the stretch it got a little hairy for them for sure. They looked human. That team looked human. They were Goliath before that. My whole thing is what's the status on Mike Evans? Roc: Yeah. I I don't I don't C-Dub: 'Cause when he went out, it was a whole different team. Roc: I don't in I I asked that question you a few weeks ago. What was the more impactful signing this offseason canine with the Chiefs or Mike Evans to the Bucks and I or Mike Evans to the Niners and I sided with Mike Evans and it might have sounded a little crazy. Yeah, it C-Dub: I think we both did. Yeah. Roc: might have sounded a little crazy, but I it's it's it's showing now. There was it was night and day on offense. What but he at three for ninety four in the first half, everyone Clicking on all cylinders, getting kiddle the rock, C C the Rock, pretty moving around and then he goes down end of the first half, tries playing the first snap of the second half or whatever, first drive of the second half, and can't go. And it was just ew. Ew is all I had. C-Dub: Yeah, no, one thing, like, if if someone told me, hey man, you you got Achilles soreness, I'm t I am I am terrified. Like I I am bed rest. Bed rest for a week if someone tells me my Achilles Roc: That's what's crazy to me. Yeah. I don't know how I I especially C-Dub: is sore. Roc: especially with the Rams losing last week and the Seahawks losing last week, Niners have a little bit of cushion. I could definitely see them not risking they're they're six and right now. Like yes, they want to keep on putting a chokehold on the division, but if t if your thirty three year old receiver can't move without stretching out his Achilles every single play, there's gotta be an issue. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: Or maybe maybe something goes up, the antennas go up a little bit, that hey, the Windy Fingers, something's not right. What's going on in San Francisco? It's like come on, man. So I I would lean that he's probably gonna be like doubtful, questionable, but yeah, that's that was my my biggest key for this game. Dub, I have a little little history note for you on this one. C-Dub: give it to me. Roc: Purdy owns now owns a hundred and five point six career passer passer rating, the highest in NFL history. C-Dub: Wow, I d I didn't know that. Roc: Mr Irrelevant, the highest passer rating in NFL history. I mean, AEA just goes along with the w the topic of conversation we've been having this whole year, how he's playing at a V P level and he just looks C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: looks sharp week in and week out. But C-Dub: Yeah, I've been I I I've been saying MVP. I think he still is my front runner for MVP, especially since they're undefeated. yeah. I just hope that the Falcons don't forget about Bichon. Roc: Engar. C-Dub: I mean, rushing at f five point eight yards an attempt. That's a d that's an that's an un unreasonable clip. An ungodly Roc: Yeah, yeah. C-Dub: clip of how many yards he gets per rush. if they don't forget about him, th things get frisky. I l I mean, Falcons, we talked a lot about the forty nines, but Falcons I think got a real chance here. If Mike Evans is out. Well, I I still think they have a chance even with Mike Evans, but if he's out, I think they have a great chance here. I'm gonna take London any time for sure. Roc: Love it. C-Dub: He's been a beast. Yard machine. and am I sick if I'm taking the Falcons? Roc: Well, considering that they're my C-Dub: let's go Woo Roc: I'm going with some dogs. I got a live dog this week, the Falcons. Give me the ATL. All right. I understand Niners, best team in the league, but they're coming off a short week. Monday night football or yeah, Monday night football, short week. That that doesn't play well. Falcons at home. Granted, their home field advantage isn't really an advantage when they had to do silent count last week against Chicago at home. But they're gonna get Bijan the ball. He's gonna have some big time plays, he's gonna have some big chunk plays. He's gonna be a home run header. Then what what's Panny's gonna do? He's gonna pull, pull, find London, find Pitts, find Branch. I like the Falcons this week. Give me the Atlanta Falcons. C-Dub: Dude, we are in the locks stuff. I'm I'm concerned. Roc: Come on, dub. Welcome to the dark side. C-Dub: I'm concerned. This is this is something. Woo! Roc: Welcome to the dark side, baby. C-Dub: yeah, I like Falcons out right here. over under. I I s I I noted on this game I do like the under. I'm not sure why. Fifty and a half for both these teams, I think's a little high. Roc: I kinda like the over in it. Can't lie. I think both offenses can put up a lot. We do need a little different yeah, need little C-Dub: Fair, no fair. Hey, let's we need to do this. We need to disagree more. We need yeah, yeah. Roc: differentiation. But I I could definitely be getting getting boned with that over because Falcons did put up not garbage points last week in the fourth quarter, but you score sixteen in the last five minutes to make it a one score game with four minutes left. That's and not garbage time points, but The numbers look a little different, so yeah, I kinda like the over in this game. I think both offenses are are good to elite and efficient. And yeah, I'm I'm gonna say I like the over. I think they're both good for twenty five. Yeah. C-Dub: No, t take it, hey. Yep. There we go. Yep. Roc: The next game we got in the one o'clock slate, Giants at Texans. Texans favored by nine and a half with an overunder of forty two and a half. C-Dub: Can I start this one off? I want Roc: Go ahead, floor's yours, Doug. C-Dub: you to give me one word when I say this say this one name. Give me first thing that comes to mind. Roc: On it. C-Dub: Harbaugh. Roc: Old. That was the first thing that came to mind. Old school. Old school is what came to mind. C-Dub: That's a good one. That's a good one. That's a good one. Yeah. Yeah. Roc: Why dub? Why do you say that? C-Dub: I mean a lot a lot's been going on. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I I thought dictator. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I mean, Najee Harris gets released after he was named the starting back last week, says some things, gets the boot. I mean, I get what he's doing. I get he's instilling his old school culture, and this is something that the old coaches they the old greats you think of. You think of a Bill Belichick, you think of any other old Roc: ourselves C-Dub: name. Yep, you this is what they would do. This is exactly what they would do, and they are successful coaches building a culture. I just want to see how it plays out this week. Roc: Yeah. I I I kinda touched on it last week when I was talking about him and Scat's relationship and I really don't want the his way or the highway mentality for Harbaugh being a detriment to the team. I understand you want to build this culture and you you've when you've won a Super Bowl rang granite, it was fifteen years ago. You know how to win, right? And you've had a lot of winning seasons with Baltimore when they've had a top five quarterback every year and a great defense every year. But I don't want his ego or his coaching style to get in the way and ruin relationships with the team and actually affect the division that's wide open right now. That we stand atop of and we could actually have a chance at making the playoffs and looking forward to football in July or January. So I that's that's the biggest thing right now in between these weeks that I just I don't want his ego or his his style to get in the way of what we're trying to do. C-Dub: Yeah, I think I mean I think the the the pads talking is gonna be what really shows really shows if his coaching style is really g galvanizing the players or it's a detriment. I guess we'll see this week. Granted they are playing the Texans, who have looked really good. But a note on that. I also noted overs, overs, overs. Roc: Really? C-Dub: Overs. Yes. Yes. And that's I'll leave it at that. We can just keep talking. I got some stats later, but There's a lot to sink our teeth into in this game for us being two Giants fans. Roc: yeah, as two Giants fans, JJ McCarthy was announced the starter. So we have nine, nine, eighteen in the backfield this week, and there's real optimism for Giants fans. He lit it up last week and with two hundred and th forty three yards in the fourth quarter alone, and the ball looked like he was jumping out of his hand, finding Malik Neighbors, finding Isaiah Likely. So hopefully we get screened. And Tracy had a great game last week. It was very underrated just because of the all the drama that went on with Najee, Scat, and Harbaugh and that whole that triangle, love triangle or hate triangle. yeah, found the end zone twice, was kind of the only dynamic guy there in the first half for us, for the Giants, receiving and rushing. And so yeah, I'm I'm excited about this week. It's it sucks that we're going against a hot Houston Texans team right now. I can't lie, their offense has been clicking and their defense is third in the league in sacks with eighteen. So that's a little worrisome for a guy that's just going out there for his first start. And the team has a week of tape now, in a week of not a week, but today's Wednesday. Four or five days of preparation. I think they kind of knew that it was leaning towards McCarthy after he came in and lit it up. So yeah, I'm I'm excited to see. It's excited and interesting to see how JJ looks after a week has a t a team has a week to prepare. And I'm I'm I'm optim optimistic about it. That's that's where I'm gonna leave the C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: floor for you. C-Dub: Yeah. yeah, no, you said some pass some Te Texans got a great pass rush. two good pass defenses. I mean Giants are ranking fifth and opponents passing yards at one ninety. Wait. Nah, the Texans ranked twenty seventh, brother. They ranked twenty seventh in pass pass defense right now. They got a good rush. They don't got a good pass defense. That's why I said overs. I was waiting for that. I was waiting for someone to say Texans good defense. Because I think Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: overs give me neighbors Any over, I'm taking it. Likely any over, I'm Roc: Stand on it. Stand on it. C-Dub: taking it. I don't care. I don't care. You gotta you Roc: Stand on it. C-Dub: got a weak weak tape worth of JJ. I don't care. You might sack him a few t Roc: In a dome. There should be no no weather. C-Dub: hey, sack him a few times. I don't care. I think he's still gonna get his. I think he's still gonna get his. Who are you taking? Roc: Spread wise, I do I do like the Giants to cover nine and a half. I think I think ten points, nine and a half is is a lot. And I think Vegas just really hates the Giants. I like we have a two game lead in the division, and I'm pretty sure we're still third in betting favorites and odds to win the NFC East, which is kinda crazy. So I think Vegas just actually hates us. But this is the first game with JJ McCarthy, so we'll see how Vegas feels come Sunday. Maybe it the line moves a little bit, maybe it doesn't. I will take the Texans straight up, but as a spread wise, I'm taking the Giants nine and a half. I I do think we will cover and I will be obviously rooting very hard for us to win outright. C-Dub: Yeah, I think the Giants win this game. I think the Giants win this game. I I Roc: Yes, yes, thank you. C-Dub: don't I don't I don't care about Spread. I don't care about this. I mean, how can you not after that fourth quarter just have a little excitement? Roc: I'm excited. The juices are flowing, but I'm C-Dub: I am the juices are flowing. Harbaugh can do whatever the hell he wants. I still think this team is team's got something to prove. Last note here. Yeah. dude, yeah. Last Roc: Yeah, come Sunday at one o'clock I'm gonna be I'm gonna be wired. I'm gonna be ready ready for the giant subset but C-Dub: note tank tank Dell back. Yeah. Roc: Yeah. I don't know how many snaps he hasn't played in what? Two and a half years, year and a half, whatever it was. So C-Dub: Yeah. I'm probably gonna take his yards. Roc: I'm excited to see. It's probably gonna be really low, honestly, but I I'm C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: excited to see what he looks like. I've seen clips of him. He look he still looks shifty, looks really, really quick. But that's just another weapon the Texans have. They like Sneaky have a lot of weapons on the receiving core now. Nico, Booty, Noel, Harrison, and Tank Dell. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah, Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: no, they they got weapons. And I mean I think it's gonna be interesting to see how they work in now that Marvin's kind of kinda work doing his thing and working it. I mean, Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: maybe throw tank in the slot for a few plays, see what happens. I'm not sure. Regardless, I am taking Giants and I love this over. Roc: Love it. Love it. C-Dub: Those are two things that I got. Roc: Definitive. We got one more game for the one o'clock dub. I'm gonna give it to you. C-Dub: We do. Cause we didn't we we we haven't said my dog yet and it's hiding here somewhere. And it's hiding Roc: And I'm letting you talk. I'm letting you talk. C-Dub: here somewhere. I gimme the Colts. Gimme the Colts to cover six and a half against Minnesota. Roc: Plug your nose. Plug your nose. C-Dub: Pl it is stinky. And granted, Roc: It is C-Dub: it's gonna be a stinky game. Vegas has it as as a stinky game. Over under forty one and a half. I think it's crazy to almost give a team a touchdown spread when the score is projected to be that low. That's kind of what I'm going on. I mean Roc: Good rationale. C-Dub: I that's why I'm taking it is mainly that. It's like the you're giving a team a touchdown lead in a game where you're you're guessing both teams score under three touchdowns. That and that that's my rationale. That's all I got. And I I know Roc: Love it. C-Dub: there's the Colts there's all this talk about fire sale, sell the team, all this kind of stuff. I've seen so many mock trades with Jonathan Taylor. Roc: Yeah. To the Vikings is what I've seen also. C-Dub: Yeah, just just insane, insane stuff coming out of there and granted I think they will down the line, but right now, I mean, I think they'll cover that. That's all I got. Roc: Like it. I like it. C-Dub: That's all I got. Roc: Sweet. Now we're gonna move on to the four o'clock slate and we got Rams at Raiders, Rams four and a half point favorites with an overunder of forty seven and a half. C-Dub: Yeah. You said something about history earlier, didn't you? Like you gave a history stat. I've got two. Roc: Yeah. Okay. C-Dub: Is it crazy that the Rams and the Raiders are eight and eight all time against each other? They Like you just just think all time about these two franchises. They are eight and eight when they play each other in the regular season. Roc: Yeah. I mean Raiders back in the day they were they were dogs. I mean in our lifetime C-Dub: Yeah, it Roc: they haven't really been anything great, but yeah. C-Dub: That's why I'm bringing it up. That's a crazy stat. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I think it was against the Raiders. Was that Baker game against the Raiders? That's Roc: Yes it was. C-Dub: why that's why I marked that's why I I thought so. I just wanted to confirm before I said this. Remember that game? Remember that game? my god, I was on my feet. it was Roc: Yes, it was. Do I remember that game? Yes. That was the bake show. Bake show being back. C-Dub: That was one of the that was one of like if you're a football fan, that's one of the coolest games to ever watch. Then you got Roc: Goosebumps, chills. C-Dub: got Van Jefferson down the sideline with a got a ninety-eight Roc: And one day's C-Dub: ninety-eight yard drive, a minute forty-five left on the clock. And the big show did it. that game was awesome. Roc: Picked up on a Wednesday, played on a Thursday. Yeah, I th I think obviously the biggest note for this game, Rams obviously fell the two and four last week after the loss to the Cardinals. And again, it's another must win. This this is kind of one of those scheduled wins that we were talking about with the Rams, how their schedule easens up a little bit and they could rattle off five or six in a row by week. 11 12, they'll be fine sitting pretty. Clearly in the playoffs playoff picture, but Devontae Adams out six to ten weeks, ruptured his hamstring. That's brutal. That's a weapon that's down. They're coming off of a bad, bad loss against the Cardinals. But I want to say this is a get right game for the Rams, big time. The Raiders C-Dub: You think so? Roc: defense has been struggling. They're allowing thirty six points per game with over four hundred yards of offense allowed in these last three game losing streak. So I think the Rams should be able to put up some big numbers and just get right. I think this is a this is a everyone eat weeks. Everyone eat weeks. You're liking the Raiders. C-Dub: I love the Raiders here. they get they have a thirty one percent pressure rating. While their defense has been doing that bad, I think that's pretty high. Just gotta move old man stafford a little bit. That's what these last few weeks have taught us. just move around a little bit. Roc: Yeah. Well yeah. I said it when they played the Broncos. the biggest key if you're gonna play the Br play the Rams is you gotta get Stafford off platform. You gotta gotta get him out of out of his mm burger flipping area. You have you have to move him. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. I think is enough to make make Stafford shiver in his timbers a little bit. If if they c if they can make him shiver in his timbers a little bit without Devontae Adams, I think this game gets interesting. And it seems like there's some discontent aw with the Rams, mostly Kyron Williams dropping some quotes. I'm not sure if he meant it like that in the context. I think it's been blown out proportions as well. However, Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: it seems like some of those players aren't too happy. also another stat. Raiders are five and one against the spread. And at and with with a game at four and a half, I think that they're gonna be in this. They're gonna be live. Roc: Like it. C-Dub: I I'm sc I I I'm scared to take the Raiders, but I am. Roc: I'm definitively taking the Rams. I think that this is a week that they their offense has to click. Stafford goes for three hundred plus. Puka goes for a hundred. Kyron goes for a hundred and two catches. I I I think this is the week that they they need to after that putrid performance against the R Cardinals. I think McVay's pissed off and he's hearing the noise. I I have I've been down the Twitter rabbit hole. This past week since the Rams lost. I don't know if you have any other notes on this game, Dub. I'm I'm just gonna rip off some to you after. C-Dub: No, dude, rip it. Rip it. Roc: Two different timelines of Rams fans and Ram reporters. One was and this doesn't surprise me that much, is if the season does turn into a spiral, then McVay retires and just leaves football, goes and be an an analyst in the booth, which he'll probably make three times the money and have to work a seventh of the week. Well, has to work one day a week compared to every single day. So that's not like a hot take, and I I've mentioned that I talked about that before. I could definitely see that happening. But this other timeline for Rams fans, if the let's say they do lose this game, and I don't know who they have next week, but it spirals for them a little bit. I've heard Stafford Trade Talk. And again, it's probably just deep down in the the rabbit hole of Twitter timeline with all the Rams fans, but they were saying how they want to justify using a first round pick on Ty Simpson so they want to see him play if the season is a complete total disaster. 'Cause Devontae's out now for the rest of the rest of the regular season, it looks like. And let's say come trade a deadline there two and seven or two and two and six, right? And What if Stafford says, All right, I only know I got another year left in me. I want to go to a team that's in the playoff, like top of the top of the playoff hunt right now. Could you see him saying that? The deadline saying, like, I know I only have another year. This year it hasn't been what we thought, completely off track of what we thought. But you know what? Minnesota's sitting at seven and one at the trade deadline, and their offense still looks sluggish. I think I can go out there and throw Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Odell the ball. You think that Stafford would do that? I d I still don't see it 'cause he loves LA. His family's out there. He came back for this exact reason, but it's just a theory and timeline I saw. C-Dub: He loves LA, but what's the team g what what are the Rams gonna get for him? Roc: Good question. They probably get a day C-Dub: It's a lease. You're you're getting a lease on a guy. Roc: Yeah, you probably give him a day two pick, though. You probably get like a third for him even though he's old as dirt. C-Dub: I mean I I guess I mean it's like training my grandpa for a baby. Roc: Yeah, but if your grandpa's gonna be grandpa's gonna be gone after this year, you already know like if like if Stafford, if they already know the the Rams spiral. Never. C-Dub: Are you killing off my grandpa, Rocco? Are you killing him off? Roc: Never Shout out Mr. Rowe. Shout out Mr. Rowe. yeah. I think it's twofold. C-Dub: No, shout out, shout out, shout out. But no, I no I no, I get it though. I get I g I I get that, but I mean I'd be really surprised. Roc: It's it's I w I don't really see the Rams wanting to do it, but at the same time if Stafford approaches them and is like, yo C-Dub: I don't see but I I don't I don't see Stafford approaching them either. I don't see Stafford. Roc: I I don't either. But it it's not crazy to say like, yo, I'm I'm thirty eight years old, I only have one more ride in me, and I'm coming off of an MVP year and a NFC championship game appearance. I want to go out and actually have a chance to compete for a Super Bowl, which we thought we were doing this year, pushing pushing all of our chips onto the table into the table, and it just hasn't panned out the way that we thought. I I don't know. I I don't know, I just wanted to bring it up. I wanted to hear what your thoughts were on it. 'Cause C-Dub: Yeah, no, it's interesting. I I I don't see it just because I think he likes LA. I just don't see him approaching their leadership saying I want out for one last run. I mean, granted, I think teams will probably give a day two pick. But I I just I'd I'd I I'd be very shocked. I would be shocked. Roc: Same here. And that moves us on to another NFC North matchup. Packers at Lions. Detroit favorites by three and a half with an overunder of fifty three and a half. That's the highest over under so far of the week, dub. C-Dub: Yeah, this is my game of the week. Roc: I love it. C-Dub: This is my game of the week. It's another points game. I've been saying overs a lot, which kind of scares me. but the over is 5 0 in a game where the Lions play in it. So Roc: Yeah, yeah. C-Dub: I think that's a cool stat. I mean, why are we gonna I mean maybe it maybe it self corrects, but we're we're getting into week six. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Or week seven. Why why would that stop now? Their defense sucks, and Goff, as you've said before, is playing at an MVP level. And they got Jameer Gibbs. So, I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if the both these quarterbacks drop over 300 yards. I don't care about the Packers have a solid, solid, solid pass defense, a middle-ish middle-ish defense overall. I still think that both teams are gonna get theirs. I did have a note though, Rocco. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Packers are four and one against the spread. So Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I I like tell me if I'm wrong here. Tell me tell me if I'm wrong. I feel Roc: Yeah, yeah. C-Dub: like if we switch those two and it's lions at Packers, it's probably Packers minus three. Roc: That's not crazy. That d this was the game that I was in between for taking my dog. I was either going Packers or Falcons. And I I I like the line of three and a half for the Packers because I could see a world easily where they just went outright. Like they they're coming off three, three weeks of them balling. Yeah. C-Dub: Yeah, no, like I'm saying like if they're if they're home if they're home, it's probably a flip flop. Roc: It's not that's not crazy at all. And like the way that they've been playing, I think what also goes into it is the Lions are coming off of a bye week, so they will be rested at home. And the Packers still don't have any run game. They're averaging fifty nine yards a game rushing. So it is kind of just all on Jordan Love and those receivers. And granted, the Lions defense is absolutely swish cheese. It is a it is a C-Dub: Yeah, and you saw what they did to the cowboys. Roc: go it is a ghost out there. So i it's just one of those where it's like, is there too much pressure on putting all all of it on past offense, all of it on Jordan Love. He has to go out there and put up thirty plus points to hang with the Lions def Lions offense every single week. But yeah, I don't know. It's if if if his Packers were at home, I could definitely see them being favored too. Like it's C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: just it's just one of those games. C-Dub: Yeah. who you taking? Roc: Like I wanted to go Packers right off rip. They're playing so well. And like their offense looks so good. And their defense has been getting turnovers. They turn made the Bears turn the ball over what four times against them. But I'm gonna go with the Lions coming off of a bye week. I kinda like them with the extra rest. I think their offense will put up a ton of points. Defense probably will let up a ton of points, but I'm gonna I'm gonna side with the Lions and their playmakers. C-Dub: I agree. I I mean, I think the big issue here is recency bias. We saw the Packers Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: offense go out and get theirs. Granted, they kinda pattered out at the end of the game, but they were already in the driver's seat, didn't really matter too much. Roc: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: I'm also t I'm I'm I'm also gonna take the Lions here. I like them off the bye. But I mean I think this is my game of the week. I think it's gonna be a close. And again, it's crazy to say, but this game does have playoff implications. Roc: Yes. It does. This is for the C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: like yes. I I don't even have anything that's just yes. C-Dub: Yeah. I mean granted I don't think the I don't Roc: This would be a a a good C-Dub: think the NFC is too too s too top heavy right now. And there's a world where a lot of where a lot of these teams sneak in if they even if they don't win the the the division. I don't think it'd be crazy Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: if let's say, let's just go out on a limb and say, Lions went to division or Vikings win the division. Two two of those other teams are gonna sneak in. Roc: I could I could see a world where all four of them make the playoffs, crazy enough, because of how bad the NFC East is. Giants are in first place right now and everyone else has un under five hundred record. I think it what the soul and obviously the NFC South, that division every year is always y whatever team can get to nine wins is gonna win the division. I think the biggest question mark and the biggest factor is how the NFC West actually plays out because going into the year we thought that that was going to be the division where three teams all three of them would would make it the Niners, the Seahawks and the Rams. And now the Seahawks and the Rams are kind of sputtering a little bit. So I I think that that division's gonna be the biggest factor if we if they get two teams from there or if they only end up getting one. C-Dub: Yeah, no, for Roc: And from there we move on to Sunday night football. Chiefs at Seahawks. Seahawks favored by two and a half and overunder of forty two and a half. And dub, I think this is gonna be my game of the week. C-Dub: Nice. You know what this is for me? A game where I scratch my head. Roc: You don't know who you like. C-Dub: No. Not not who I like, it's Roc: Why is the lion Seahawks minus two and a half? Yeah. I th I think it's solely I think the so that's it. That's it. I agree. I agree. I I C-Dub: What? What? It's disrespectful. I don't care about the twelfth man. Disrespectful It's insane. The Chiefs look inevitable. Roc: I agree. It's just I think what Vegas is thinking is it's in Seattle, the twelfth man, obviously. But when we say the Chiefs look like the Chiefs, they do. But it hasn't been Chiefs putting up thirty to forty every single week. It's Chiefs doing what they need to do, and then it's just coasting from there. Like last week they played the Chargers. Listen, last week they played Chargers, they were up twenty-two they're up three touchdowns in a matter of two seconds. And then they ended the game, what? Twenty-two to nine. They did what they had to, and then they just coasted it out. And they've been doing that every week, it seems like. So I think what Vegas is trying to imply here is that Seahawks are a little bit of a different team at home. You can't just coast. You can't just coast. But I agree with you. It is it is a little bit of a what what do we what do you got going on here? Kinda line. C-Dub: Yeah yeah, I scratch my head. I mean g guaranteed they haven't played the greatest comp. And as you said, they have I guess quote unquote quote coasted. But you d but you don't think the Chiefs can turn it up another another dial with who they have? I mean, canine going back to Seattle. They Kelsey Kelsey Roc: I think they can, but yeah, Keenine Revenge game it C-Dub: looks thirty. Roc: They don't have that deep shot though. They don't with Thornton with Thornton going down C-Dub: I I don't think it matters when you have canine. Roc: it it do it well yes. It but that's that's the point where I'm saying like they aren't separating themselves. Like yes, they are undefeated and they're probably a top three team in the league. And I I personally think that they are inevitable. They're the Chiefs, they have Mahomes, they have Kelsey and they have a running back that's gonna go for thirteen hundred yards bearing any injuries. And he's his name is in the MVP talks right now. We haven't had an VP running back since Adrian Peterson in thousand twelve. So it's like, yeah, I do think they are inevitable, but they don't have that separator Tyree Kill guy that we just keep on saying they're gonna end up signing Tyree Killer end up going out and making a trade, because Thornton was their deep guy. He was there. Give it to K9 ten straight plays, let him grind, grind, grind, grind, grind the defense, hurt the defense, and then pull it, take it over the top. But he had that nasty, nasty injury and they don't they don't have anybody that can fill that role right now. So I think that's what is going into this. Not that I agree with it, but that's my C-Dub: Yeah, no, they don't they don't have Roc: thinking, my logical reasoning behind it. C-Dub: They don't have two guys that can fill the role, but they got Rashi Rice and Xavier Worthy. Roc: Yeah, Rashi Rice's been banged up though and hasn't hasn't been what we thought he was gonna be before his ACL injury. And Xavier Worthy, he that they took him first round out of Texas. They thought that that he was gonna be that Tyree Kale two point and he just he hasn't. He hasn't. C-Dub: I think those are still two names that I'd want them on my team as receivers. Roc: Names but production wise. C-Dub: I I guess I guess in th in i in in theory it sounds great. Roc: Names, yeah. Like production wise and Rashid Rice, C-Dub: Granted, again I Roc: I I think Rashid Rice is a dog, he just he's never healthy or never fully healthy on the field, which sucks, but that's just the facts of the matter. C-Dub: Lotta talk about the Chiefs, but like we could say all that, but do I trust Darnold in a high leverage situation to get it done, to write the ship? Roc: No, they and they're JSN JSN dependent. They're too JSN dependent. I dub, C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: I agree. I'm taking the Chiefs fully in this game. I w I'm I'm all over the Chiefs. C-Dub: I am too. Okay, good. We're good. Roc: I'm just trying to say what I c where I can see Vegas is coming from 'cause i I I can put the pieces together, I can connect the dots. But with that being said, I trust Patrick Mahomes more than I trust Sam Darnold. And Seahawks have no run game. Zero run game. So unless JSN C-Dub: No run game, zero run game. Roc: goes for a buck fifty and two touchdowns and Darnold doesn't ha turn the ball over, then I don't really see a world where they win. C-Dub: I don't either. I don't either. I completely agree. I mean granted they're I mean they're on a two game two game skid right now. Granted those two losses were against the Broncos and the Sam and the Forty Niners. Roc: Mm niners. Yeah. C-Dub: Granted I don't trust the Broncos at all. You do. Don't know why. Don't know how, but granted Roc: I do, I do, I do. C-Dub: those are two good teams. yeah, I mean I I just I I'm not saying that they're gonna blow out, but the Chiefs know how to handle business. They've proven they know they know how to handle business and I don't see them not handling business here. Roc: I definitely like them as the underdog. I I even like them outright, so that's why I'm going with Casey. C-Dub: Yeah, and also did you look at that over under? Roc: Yeah, forty two and a half. I think it's actually fitting. I think it's fitting. C-Dub: You think so? Roc: Yeah. Why? Did you like what do you like? I yeah, I think I think I think it should be a little bit C-Dub: No, I no, I just it's a it's one of the lower ones. I was just asking what your thoughts were on it. I don't know how to go I don't know where to go with it. Roc: I think it should be a little bit lower just because the reasons that we said about the Seahawks offense being so JS independent, so unless he goes nuclear then they're not gonna really put up a thirty piece. They're not going to be around that twenty eight range, I don't think. But last week they put up fourteen in an overtime game against the Broncos. And on the flip side, the Seahawks defense is really, really good. And the Chiefs haven't really put up crazy, crazy numbers. They what, thirty against the Colts, and they're they hover around twenty one to twenty eight every week too. So I think that C-Dub: No, they do. Roc: number's suitable. I think it's just right. I think it really just depends on what we get out of the quarterback play and out of the run games from both teams. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah, I guess we'll see. I guess we'll see, but regardless, Chiefs win. Roc: Yeah, and that's gonna wrap up our preview for the games this week, week seven NFL. And dub has a little segment for us to end the end off this pod. So dub? C-Dub: I I do. I just really didn't think of a good name for this. I have the stats. I have everything I wanna give you, all the questions. I'm thinking right here. Roc: Free ball it names with games, games with names. C-Dub: No, no, I wait. Let me think here. let's go with Over under point five touchdowns on the year. Roc: Love it. Over under point five touchdowns on the year. Presented by C dub. C-Dub: Presented by C Deb. All right. Started off hot. DK Metcalf, has he gotten in? Roc: I'm gonna say yes. I feel like I remember him getting one. Yes. What week if you C-Dub: You would be correct. DK Metcalf has gotten in. Roc: if you know, I don't I don't remember the week. I I couldn't Okay. Alright, yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: I don't I didn't rent down any of the weeks. I just looked at leaders of stats 'cause there are some funny there's one that I found out today which it shocked me. I wanted to make this a segment. Roc: I I'll I'll stand on DK, yes, over. C-Dub: Okay. Dalton Schultz has Dalton Schultz gotten in. Roc: Yes. What? Last week it was Foster Morrell for the Texans. The nice little one hand snag on the Jags. That's who it was. Print and pace. Print and pace the six five white guy tight end C-Dub: He has not gotten in. Nope. Donald Schultz does. Yep. Yup. Yup. I knew I'd get you there. Roc: who's wearing the number eighty. Come on. C-Dub: That's a good to put it. All right. Josh Downs, has he gotten in? Roc: Did he get in against the Chiefs? Trying to remember here. I'm gonna say yes. C-Dub: No, he hasn't scored. Roc: Really? C-Dub: Next one. T. Higgins. Roc: T. Higgins, yes. He had an insane touchdown. Unless it got called C-Dub: He has gotten in. Roc: back. Unless it got I vividly remember he had a sick ki sick yeah. Sick catch. Thank you. C-Dub: He did. Okay. I wanted to give you one there. Roc: I needed a layup. I a layup. C-Dub: Yep. Roma Dunze. Roc: Ooh. Ooh, if he did it had to have been week one sometime. They put a fifty nine. C-Dub: He he didn't. He didn't. He didn't. He didn't. He did not get a touchdown. Roc: No, he didn't. So they scored sixty points, they had ten touchdowns in the game, he didn't couldn't find paint once. C-Dub: No. No. Granted he hasn't had the greatest Q V play for the entire season, but he has not found paint. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Dr Drake London. Roc: Drake London hasn't. Hasn't. He had the the prime the prime C-Dub: Yes! Yes! This was the entire stat! This was the one that was like, what in the fuck? Roc: time game when Penix came back against the Packers and London went for damn near 200 yards. There was at least three catches where he went for like 50 or 60 yards that it I don't know if he was injured or if he had a Lego in his shoe. He literally Looked like an old man running down the sideline. He got caught up by like twenty yards. Yes, I remember that. He did he did not find paint. C-Dub: That was who I was waiting on. I got some more though. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Kate Otten. Roc: Ooh. Box did he find find the box against the Browns? No. Yes, he did. No? C-Dub: No, he didn't. No touchdowns. Last one. Luther Burden. Roc: Ooh, I took his yards this past week and he he slammed that. He had like eight for ninety five. I'm gonna say no. Yeah. C-Dub: He did. He got a touchdown. Roc: he did. Nice. Great. C-Dub: Yeah. No, so that was my list. I just went down I sa cause I saw something about Drake London not scoring and I was just baffled. And I'm like, what other guys going into week seven haven't scored that you're like scratching your head at? Roc: That was a really good list, Dub, honestly. I mean I I'm had a hit rate of probably like twenty percent on it. So I mean I and I think I C-Dub: I know I really tried that. Roc: n I think I I think I know ball and I guess I don't know ball. C-Dub: No, but Roma Dunze and Drake London, those are the two that stood out to me like not getting not finding payder in any of their games. 'Cause their their Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: offenses are scoring. Roc: Yeah. And they're guys. C-Dub: Absolutely shocking. Yeah, that that's that was that was it. Roc: That was a good that was a good segment though to wrap it up. I I enjoyed that. So C-Dub: I'm happy you did. That was I'm happy to give you some enjoyment. Roc: Let's hope the listeners loved it. Let's hope they made it to the end here 'cause I I I did I did like that. And let's hope that our preview is kinda spot on and we lead the way for the listeners to maybe make some dinero this weekend or maybe just enjoy the games. C-Dub: Regardless, all the games we were in lockstep a lot here. I'm gonna do a parlay of the games we were in lockstep with. Why not? Why not? And we'll post it. JSP parlay. Roc: Yeah. Yeah. Let's do it. Let's do it. The JSP parlay. Yeah. C-Dub: We had a lot we we had some games where we're both feeling the same type of way. Let's get it up. Roc: In bookmark bookmark this at the whatever minute we're on right now of this episode. C-Dub: We're almost at f we're at forty nine minutes and eleven seconds. Roc: 49 minutes, 11 seconds, not if, but when that parlay hits and you guys didn't tail, that's a shame. That is a shame on you. I'm gonna leave it there. That is a shame on you. Thank you all for listening. We appreciate it. C-Dub: Ha ha. Roc: We love you guys, and we will see you guys on Monday night, Tuesday morning. Peace. C-Dub: Beautiful. Alright, we'll see you guys.
