- 0:21SPEAKER_03: Hello everyone, by the way.
- 0:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.

- 0:24SPEAKER_03: Six, cheers.
- 0:25SPEAKER_03: And this evening we are filming from the print yard in Carlisle on Devonshire Street.
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: I've been a few times.
- 0:31SPEAKER_03: You've been a few times.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a few times.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Really good.
- 0:33SPEAKER_03: Um I've had the Bao Buns, the salt and pepper chicken, the G-Ross, and the pizza.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: And a burger.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: I've been a few times.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: Would you call that a G-Ross?
- 0:43SPEAKER_03: Gyros?
- 0:44SPEAKER_03: Is it?
- 0:46SPEAKER_03: I'd say G gyros G-Ross.
- 0:49SPEAKER_03: I would say G Giross, I think.
- 0:51SPEAKER_03: Why do Scottish people spell football, Fit Bal?
- 0:55SPEAKER_03: No, F-I-T, B in Glasgow L.
- 0:58SPEAKER_03: Fitbell.
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: That's like a don't know, not the bottle something.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: Anyway, man, I'm trying to get a small sponsorship.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: So thank you to the Print Odd for sponsoring this episode and letting us come here and wonder if they're on the user the cheap drinks.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: What's that gyllin?
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: Organic orange orangeade.
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: Black on them and you are honestly the I'm surprised.
- 1:24SPEAKER_03: I'm a change man, I don't drink very often.
- 1:28SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, so I stopped at the Carlisle game last night, which we'll talk about.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: And an Irish man said Jamie Devitt is full of we also call it an Indian.
- 1:39SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 1:40SPEAKER_03: Irish there.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: But Jamie's definitely, definitely said that a curry is Chinese.
- 1:47SPEAKER_03: So anyway, Dylan, a little update on Gretna.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: I came to your game on Saturday.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, first game.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: Um I had what one session straight in.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: But kinda good and bad, I think we were 2-0 down.
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: We were kind of looked like we were over the place.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: Um pulled it back to two each, looked like we were gonna go on and maybe nick it.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: And then just a bit of kinda naivety.
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: Maybe standing in front of the ball, they took a quick free kick.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: Um scored in the last minute, yeah, three two.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: But listen, it's good to get back playing and um get my Saturdays back.
- 2:22SPEAKER_03: Look forward to games, yeah.
- 2:24SPEAKER_03: It was uh good standard.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: They've been together, yeah, hadn't they?
- 2:26SPEAKER_03: The other team, and they finished, I think, second or third.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think they're always kinda near the top.
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: A lot of staff.
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: Did they, yeah?
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: Manager was having himself.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: Was he?
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, he had like the navy in the top now.
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: He's a younger, isn't he?
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: He kind of like he had the RNA suit jacket.
- 2:41SPEAKER_03: Well, it had like the shirt jacket, what do you call it?
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: The shirt jacket shacket chino, a gazelle pump.
- 2:49SPEAKER_03: I did ask gazelle pump.
- 2:50SPEAKER_03: On the sideline at Radale?
- 2:51SPEAKER_03: At the side aisle at Radale.
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: You look good to be fair.
- 2:54SPEAKER_03: I did have a have a look over and I thought he he's got a better.
- 2:58SPEAKER_03: You know what I like though?
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: The commitment, because this isn't maybe a massive time.
- 3:03SPEAKER_03: The minute I went part time, I fucked it right off.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: Like you've got to keep yourself fit, and all these lads, ever on both teams, fit, strong, like tackles, everything.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: I think it's a generation now, though.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: I think you uh you don't see any anybody even part-time now, unfit.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: You don't understand.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: With a kite.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: No, no, there's no kites anymore, they're just all just if the generation they'd all mad into looking after themselves and and fair play for it because it's it's not easy.
- 3:30SPEAKER_03: The um but you've had a you've got a couple of big hitters missing.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: Lewis Bell, Sam Atkinson.
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there was a few that were missing, um, but the manager said would would definitely help us.
- 3:41SPEAKER_03: But listen, it's we've not been together that long, I think.
- 3:44SPEAKER_03: There's quite a few time on.
- 3:46SPEAKER_03: I've had one full training session on the Thursday and then played on the Saturday, so even myself it's quite critical of myself after the game.
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: I was just didn't feel where I should be at.
- 3:54SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 3:54SPEAKER_03: But hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get back to it.
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: But that's a good thing, isn't it?
- 3:58SPEAKER_03: When people come off and they always say they've played alright, and you're like, well, you haven't.
- 4:03SPEAKER_03: But he was like fuming with himself.
- 4:04SPEAKER_03: I was like, it's a good game, that and first game.
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: He's got standards, though, hasn't he?
- 4:08SPEAKER_03: Nah, but I I think I've always been pretty we use the same now.
- 4:11SPEAKER_03: Like I was always maybe by orchid.
- 4:14SPEAKER_03: I didn't know you thought you're I didn't know about top flash.
- 4:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, ever.
- 4:18SPEAKER_03: It's the fun call, man.
- 4:20SPEAKER_03: Do the ratings seven, but I just I don't know, like obviously you know yourself when you've had a good game, but see if I give like a couple of slight passes away or whatever, that's that's what I'm thinking about for the next day or two, eh?
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: Like instead of being like, Oh, I made like four or five like now splitting defence passes or whatever, I'd think about the the kind of sloppy ones.
- 4:42SPEAKER_03: It's it's like when people on the on Twitter and that, but they're gonna say a hundred compliments and then the one negative, and it'll play on the mind one.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Trolling people online, man.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: That's just slow as it comes for me.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: I can't remember who it was, but the other day I seen scholars fuming, it was it was like a top player and they'd just been beat.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: Nah, it was a boy at Dundee United, I'm not in the name, but he was they get beat anyway last week or the week before, and then that night I seen he put a picture on like him like playing on the pitch, like just celebrating and stuff.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: I think they scored, but they get beat.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: And he's put a picture on Instagram.
- 5:15SPEAKER_03: When they used to be like, what you like what you do, and I think it was against a team where they would feel expected to beat as well.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think there was a there was a I'll name him because I know uh as an Elliot Watt, yeah, um but as a young kid he came to Carlisle.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: He did, and he dropped it, and he um he had a lot of ability, just mobility wasn't his thing.
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: I think it was from Wolves, and had a lot of like his abilities, different class, yeah.
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: But we got beat something like a 4-1, and he put a pitch up like assist.
- 5:43SPEAKER_03: Oh god, and this was just the start of it, but I think now obviously he's about 28, yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_03: He's kicked on, hasn't he?
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: Because he's done when isn't it?
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Sure is it motherwell?
- 5:51SPEAKER_03: Was it Motherwell in the world?
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: He went Brad Fads.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: I'm sure he's gone from Motherwell.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: He just went to he just moved.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he just moved to the floor.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: From Motherwell somewhere, isn't he?
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: I think I think he had a really good season.
- 6:00SPEAKER_03: I see the boy Eli Just.
- 6:03SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 6:03SPEAKER_03: Honestly, his his technical ability is right up there.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: It was phenomenal last year.
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: It's phenomenal.
- 6:08SPEAKER_03: And if you get the right it shoots him now, though, isn't it?
- 6:10SPEAKER_03: It's kind of you can make plans for um this is my guest, helicopter and it.
- 6:15SPEAKER_03: Um you can make plans for like them sort of players now, whereas when he first started Carlisle, it was as up and down.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: So Gretnett game tonight, well, tomorrow night?
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, midweek game, straight in, innit?
- 6:29SPEAKER_03: No rest.
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: Um aye, first week of the season and start of the Wednesday.
- 6:34SPEAKER_03: So uh they just got rotting off drawing the game.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: The Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: The body doesn't like it though, that I get older and the tenants was top draw.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: Did you enjoy it?
- 6:44SPEAKER_03: Python half, me and Laura, Laura the half, and then she had to leave it because no tolerance traffic in Scotland.
- 6:51SPEAKER_03: She went, What'll I do with this?
- 6:52SPEAKER_03: I went, Ye now, what's happening with it?
- 6:55SPEAKER_04: See, you knew that from the city.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: She kind of gets it now, and there's a bloke shouting at their manager, get back in your box.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: And from nowhere, she just went, get back in your box.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: Geordie is out, I was loving it.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: And I know the women and that were laughing and going.
- 7:10SPEAKER_03: All right, so it was it was really good.
- 7:12SPEAKER_03: Definitely be back.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: I've got season tickets now.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we'll be up to watch, definitely.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: No, but great club.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: And skip talking to Carl City.
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: You got a bit of news?
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, I'm no longer there.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously, about a week ago, um, I had a long think.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: I've had to give it up and think about the long term.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Just it's down to my parents, really.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Um, my mum's crippled with Alzheimer's, um, and she's had to go into care.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Um, and at the weekend, myself, my dad, and my brother, we had to take her down and put her into care, and it was a obviously a horrible day for us all.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: But I've got to think long term to look after them.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Um, especially my my dad now.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Obviously, they've been together, married 55 years, so to not be together.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a unit where she's not allowed out of.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: That's how crippled she is with the Alzheimer's.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: So he's sad.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: We were all sad, um, but we'll get him through it.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Um as I say, it's it's just a it's the it's a devil of a disease, but it happens to to people, doesn't it?
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, it's it's happened to our family, so we'll get them through it, we'll get my dad through it.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: And uh, but yeah, I mean I wish Carlisle City all the best.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: I've loved it.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Um I've loved working next to to Dan Kirk up.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: And I love the lads, and I've got so many nice messages off them, which I got I got myself a little bit um emotional over because they're just such good lads and I'll miss them and I loved it.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: But you've got a family take priority every time, so I've got to look out for them.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: But they got a really good win Saturday against Kendall, open game the season.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: I was I was I it do you know what it cheered me up because Saturday afternoon obviously we had to we're to take my mum down to uh to the hospital and it was a tough time, but yeah, that was a bit of good news at the end of the day.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: So I do wish them all the best and I'll I'll definitely be down and and cheering them on as the season goes on.
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I think we speak for ourselves and all the viewers when we've got your back, mate, and everything you need, boys.
- 8:55SPEAKER_03: We're there.
- 8:56SPEAKER_03: So, as we've said, we're here.
- 8:59SPEAKER_03: Episode, I forgot he's told us that 26 to me.
- 9:02SPEAKER_03: It's already went through my head.
- 9:04SPEAKER_03: Um so last night, anyway, intro.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Last night we all went, well, we didn't.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: Friendly is they do my head in.
- 9:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:39SPEAKER_03: Because it's false, but you can get little, you can take little bits from it.
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: Definitely more of a pressing on playing out from the back.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: Definitely, I thought.
- 9:52SPEAKER_03: Press really high, press really high, which you see.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: This National League team, like you said, they'll really want them to.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: National League teams won't live with that.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: Well, I was just, yeah, that was my thing.
- 10:01SPEAKER_02: Salford are a good team, yeah.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: They're they're gonna be right up there in league two, and they sort of broke the press a few times, didn't they?
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because they're that calibre the player, but I don't think you'll get that many that calibre sort of in the national league, and I think they'll win the ball a hell of a lot high up the pitch if teams try and play out because of the way the the setup, even from I mean, it was was Kelly Linney and Ajiboy, they're just right up to their run, everybody.
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: And you're just seeing from the side, get to get get and see me when the there was a sulfur keeper had the ball right, yeah, and I went, we were there, there was five of us, and they had three.
- 10:35SPEAKER_03: I went, there's no way they're gonna play out from yeah, and they did no way they're gonna try and play out.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: They tried to play and they got nicked, and went, there you go, but but the first goal was was a right bit of good quality, wasn't it?
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's been played into line midfield, and his touch, his first touch is perfect, and it takes him through the two lads pressing him.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: I don't think you see that a lot of that in the National League.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: And the run from um Longstaff, time to perfection, weight of pass, and he's is is a is a killer in front goal.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: You can remember it, it's this probably isn't right, but the left back's passed it, the two centre mids have come to Nick and his touch has took the through them, and he's an extra beat the press, and then Langstaff's made his run, and they've what they pay 800 grand for him for Bill Wall, something like that.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: But do you see that against no disrespect against the likes of Worthing and stuff like that?
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: You don't and I do it's good taste, isn't it?
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's what you want.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: And the way and the way the press high, I think it'll work for them.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: I do, I really think it will.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Um the who's the lad who just signed the last couple of days, the right back, who is it, Leo Dork?
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Somebody use it.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: I like the look of him strong, powerful, but but calm on the ball as well, not erratic.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Um Aziz, I think it looks you want more a little bit more from him, but he looks so comfortable on the ball.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: I think he's got a look.
- 11:46SPEAKER_03: No, so they kind of played we changed quite a bit.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: To be honest, they changed quite a bit.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: They um had Wheeling.
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: Um I would have preferred Wheeling to play where Harper was, if I'm honest.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean Harper was neat and tidy, but as a centre midfielder, you like us will understand that he looks like a fullback in midfield.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Does that make sense?
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: I don't think he's got like sort of the vision to get his head up, and there's a lot of switcher players that he's wearing this and stuff in it playing through the lines that he missed.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: But he listened he wasn't he wasn't bad at all.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: He was neat and tidy, he won the ball back a lot, he was full of energy, but he was full of energy.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I just think to get them switches that play out to people.
- 12:22SPEAKER_03: As you say, that does you were gonna call him the right back, or as your boy was waiting for the ball, whereas we'd go touch back, and yeah, he'd go touch, touch, touch, touch.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then probably play short.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: His manager's just kind of testing things up though, aren't it?
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: It's might be one of them.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: Well I think there's a lot of injuries as well.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Well, you might as well, if you you're rating this Joan Arlo's and that, you might as well play them.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: Play them in the preseason, get yeah, get them in there.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: I mean, the keeper looks good with his feet, isn't he?
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: He looks good at the boy is it Mare?
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Archie Mare.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: Archie Mare, yeah.
- 12:50SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, and the dude tried to play, but I mean Linny done his bits where he cut inside, got a few shots off.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Kelly's just a big you know what you're gonna get from certain players, but I think it was a good test, really good.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: Bunker was good.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, good.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: What did he look for?
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: Centre half, but I think he'll go into that midfield position.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but he sprayed it.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they all you know what we look a good size, we look powerful, we've got playmakers, we've got match winners.
- 13:13SPEAKER_03: Without putting the pressure on, you've got to be you've got to be up this season.
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: Oh, I think so.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: Do you see the flip side though?
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: Do you think many teams in the national league this year will play play out the way Sulford did?
- 13:26SPEAKER_03: Bornwood, probably.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: One or two.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: I think that's it's mental now.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Football.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: Because a lot of them tried on the you're working on that high press and stuff.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: But a lot of teams might just go, well, but keepers just gonna kick it outside, kick it in the old box, innit?
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: You know what upset me last year?
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: Too many teams came up to Carlisle and done that and got beat, and the managers went, Well, we were never meant to get anything here, or it's just great, it's a free hit.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: So if we're in free hit, we should be winning every game if we weren't because everyone was had the excuse ready.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: But uh new sign in Malarkey, Tom Mullarkey, yeah, hundred thousand followers on Instagram, also a personal trainer, so he's kind of looking after his future as well, which I like.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you've got clever lad to do that.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: I was you know, it's funny you say that about after football.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: I was listening to um one of the Under Cos Under the Kosh podcasts, um Brad the Orthodox, it was a two-part, and it was on about aftercare in football, um, but not just for people who finished at like 35.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: For lads at like 18 and 16, you know, they get promised the world and they're gonna be this, that, and the other, and then it just all falls flat.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Good enough.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: A lot of them just really fall out of the game, don't then it was a good point.
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: Like, there's not really Crystal Palace.
- 14:34SPEAKER_03: Are the only ones, or there's probably more now?
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: Crystal Palace were the first ones to offer if you got released, you still worked for the club, or you went on they appeared for your uni or your college some free yeah.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's something to fall back on, yeah.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: It's a good idea.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but there needs to be more of it.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Is that gonna come from the PFA or or the club?
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Probably the club, yeah.
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: PFA, well to be fair, the PFA like I've seen since I've obviously been down in England playing, but they've been really good.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: Who's head of that now?
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: Gordon Taylor still like I don't know.
- 15:03SPEAKER_03: It's a guy I think he is.
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: There's a guy at the end of the house.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: Because when I was at the preseason, can't they come down one of the days to train and stuff?
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: Um big tall skinny guy.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: He he did play, can't remember his name.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: I think he's he's like the head, but the guy did he ousted Taylor, did he?
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: As a Gordon Taylor, right?
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: They've done they do good stuff.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: What's Kitson to the PFA?
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: You know Ginger Air.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: Do you know who Reddit is something to know?
- 15:27SPEAKER_03: Do you know uh what he do you know who he was?
- 15:30SPEAKER_03: Do you know what Kitson was?
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: Dave Kitson for Reddit.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's the secret footballer.
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: What do you mean?
- 15:35SPEAKER_03: In 442, or something a footballer told the truth about football, no one knew who it was, and it was him.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: Ah right.
- 15:44SPEAKER_03: And then the the Sun newspaper had done one, the secret wag.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: Everyone knew it was Rebecca Vardy like that.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: So Carl, we're looking at top two.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, without a doubt.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: I I I genuinely think they'll win it by uh by a margin.
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: Let's talk about what me and you suffer from Rob Elliott's interview after the game.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, get on it, YouTube.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: Who was it?
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: Sweating his tits.
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: That's what he was.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: So he was doing what I do, but he but he was like he was pretending his forehead was itchy to scratch, but that was him.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: But I do getting the getting sweaty eyed.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: I've sat down before, right, in a cold environment and went, I'm canny warm here.
- 16:24SPEAKER_03: And I've talked myself into an absolute nervous sweat.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: And you before you know it, it's just trickling down.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I've got one for you, and hopefully the lessons uh listeners will agree.
- 16:33SPEAKER_03: See when you have an andos, see like the inside, like see my head.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: Honestly, like see when I wipe my head, like not just like here that usually it comes down, like literally see where I put if I move my hair.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: It's not just stuff, like wet, is it?
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Like get sweats.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: I don't know if it's because I've had a transplant or something, like the sweats coming through my pores, but um but get on his interview, he's but in the end, he mentioned it, he went, listen, I can't start sweating here.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: Oh, did he see it?
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: He said it's when you know you're said it again.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: I was like, Oh, I've seen this before, I've had this, I've been there before.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Imagine he's under his arms.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: Oh, awful.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: But he uh it's not really that, it's just the head.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: I've uh I was on a first aid course once, and I was like, so it's like a horseshoe, and the bloody instructor went, right?
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: I want everyone to introduce themselves and why they're here.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: I went, oh man, so I'm alright.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: All right, I'm quite warm to say that from the getting hotter, getting hotter comes to hear.
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: I'm dab on, I just went like that.
- 17:27SPEAKER_03: Oh my fiance's ringing us, my youngin''s not quite right just to go out the dog.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: Didn't have a fiance, didn't have a youngin'.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: Just like got out the dog.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Get me out of here.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: So that's so I train people, don't I do training courses?
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: The worst thing you can do is say at the start, why you're here, introduce yourself.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: You wait for a couple hours.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, lads, uh, where the other place I work, instruct I came in.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: There's a lad who works for us who's worked there for fifth like 40, 50 years, been there ages.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: He went, uh, can you just stand up and tell you uh tell us what you do and why you're here?
- 18:01SPEAKER_03: He went, That's me, cuz I'm off.
- 18:06SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: I'm straight into one.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: Just quickly, who am I?
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: I've got one for you today.
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Have you?
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Oh, I've got one for you today.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: Wow, yeah, I'm sick of you slotting me.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: What's in that drink?
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: Just the team names, just the team, yeah.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: Manu, Preston, Sunderland, Arsenal, Watford, Brighton.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: Danny Wellbeck.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: And why are we talking about Danny Wellbeck?
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: Because he's going to Jordan.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: Madness in it.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: Jordan Henner.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Is it madness?
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: Well, he can't.
- 18:42SPEAKER_03: I think Alonso's stroke of genius, and this now we'll get the Henderson here as on and say you're saying them.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: He's not right.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: Clubs have got enough money now to pay a player to come in, train and show the culture.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: He doesn't need to be.
- 18:57SPEAKER_03: We've spoken about this a couple of weeks ago.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: The minute you see he's a coach or he's got a link to the staff, I will not trust him.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: The players won't trust him, they'll they'll not open up in the dressing room.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: Because he's not on the staff and because he's what he is, they'll open up.
- 19:10SPEAKER_03: Look, listen to Bellingham and Morgan Rogers, is it Roger's all they've spoken about in that World Cup was George Heaven?
- 19:18SPEAKER_03: You can see what they think of him, can't you?
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: He trains right.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: Well, it's nothing to do with money in it.
- 19:23SPEAKER_03: So if they think the we won percenters, if we can get somebody in there, obviously he's a decent player and he's getting older, but if he can bring the stuff off the pitch, the standards and everything that everybody speaks about, yeah, money's not an option.
- 19:34SPEAKER_03: So if they all these young lads are bringing through, and it's like, well, if he's going to be a mentor to them, yeah, then just pay it.
- 19:40SPEAKER_03: And let's face it, Chelsea haven't had a mentor for for what, six, seven years.
- 19:44SPEAKER_03: And if that Rogers, you get two more percent out of Rogers because Ivan Henderson there, it's worth it.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: And it takes all the right boxes, doesn't it?
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Because of his age and stuff, he'll he'll be bang up for it, won't he?
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Everything that goes with it.
- 19:55SPEAKER_03: And well done, Wellbeck, keeping yourself fit, keeping yourself.
- 19:58SPEAKER_03: He has been around forever.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: He's a good player, man.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: Still very good, still very good.
- 20:03SPEAKER_03: He was under the radar, like massively.
- 20:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_03: He was one of them when he was younger.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: You thought he technically wasn't the best, but then he got better and better as well.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: Some crazer isn't.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: They're all fitter and stronger now.
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they're all strong and they're so Wellbeck and Henderson, excellent.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:17SPEAKER_03: Um speaking of players getting on a bit, I've got the little list.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: The Professional Footballers Association, PFA preseason.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: So, Dylan, you went on this.
- 20:26SPEAKER_03: Tell us a little bit about it.
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: Brilliant, I loved it.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: Did it aye?
- 20:30SPEAKER_03: I loved it.
- 20:30SPEAKER_03: Um basically, people are out of contract sign up for it and they they get boys down.
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: And you go and stay.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: So you go stay down.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: It's down near like Nottingham where I can't remember the hotel, right?
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: But the facilities are phenomenal.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: Like proper like spa kind of hotel vibe.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: Everyone's sitting outside if it's nice weather, like the sun loungers and stuff.
- 20:48SPEAKER_03: Like, honestly, it's brilliant.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: Jacuzzi's pools, football pitch out the back, all trained.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: So you train, you go there, you train in the morning.
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: Like they do prehab in that in the gym.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: It's proper set up.
- 20:59SPEAKER_03: Like a basically they're they're replicating like a club environment, like a pre-season camp, like four days away with a team.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: So you got in the morning, you had breakfast, you go down, pre-hab, and then go out and train, come in, do like a loosener, like lunch, or this that some most of the times it's like double sessions or a gym session and that, and then the they've added like games as well.
- 21:19SPEAKER_03: Honestly, it's brilliant.
- 21:21SPEAKER_03: It's basically what's that?
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: The first one was pre-just training, wasn't it?
- 21:25SPEAKER_03: And now they've got loads of the city.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: Now you get a player.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: Well, we played Man United 21s last year, and I can't remember who else, but a few like League Two teams or whatever.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: So it was a good standard.
- 21:35SPEAKER_03: And then they they send out the list to like all the scouts and teams who then register their interest to come and watch and send the videos and all that.
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: So And a lot of lads get fixed up from everyone, aye.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: So is the majority?
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: They do do it in Scotland, they do do it in Scotland, but it's not obviously the finances aren't as you have to pay out for Do you pay anything?
- 21:55SPEAKER_03: Not for the English one, no.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: No, nothing.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: Everything's paid for.
- 21:59SPEAKER_03: So I've got yeah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Wanna call about retirement or not?
- 22:01SPEAKER_03: Scott Mal Scott Malone, left back, ex Derby Millwall.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: I think that's him.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: Luke Berry, Barnsley, Luton, Cambridge.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: Jordan Jones.
- 22:12SPEAKER_03: I thought you would end up at Hartley Pool, Jordan Jones, with Lee Clark, with Nash.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: Do you?
- 22:16SPEAKER_03: Somewhere close to home.
- 22:17SPEAKER_03: I think that'll still happen.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: If he takes a re like just goes right.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: Listen, a lot of these players, and it was similar when I was there last year.
- 22:24SPEAKER_03: You know they're going to get set up for a club.
- 22:25SPEAKER_03: Do you know?
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: They're just playing the waiting.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: They've got to wait and get them.
- 22:28SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: Because what happens is teams get their squad for, they have a few preseason games, and then they go, Do you know what?
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: Because your boy had a little nick yesterday.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: We need a we need a new centre mid, we need a speaker, we need this, and then they go, right, who's available?
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: So a lot of them are holding off as well.
- 22:42SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 22:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:43SPEAKER_03: Alfie McAl Alfie McCallmond was in Calcutta.
- 22:47SPEAKER_03: He was in Australia for a bit, eh?
- 22:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Sam Morsey, except sounds.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's a good see Chesterfield for a while, then Ipswich.
- 22:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think he got the move.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: And then he went somewhere foreign, and I think he's come back.
- 23:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: Jamie Patterson, left winger, Bristol City, Huddersfield, Nottingham Forest.
- 23:06SPEAKER_03: They're getting on, but great player.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: A great player.
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: Uh, John Marquis, who's been everywhere.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: Been about it.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think he went for 850 grand about it.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: He's uh he's a handful.
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: I've played against him a few times.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: He's a handful, mate.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: Will Cain, X-Man you, he's like the poster boy for this year.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: I've seen it.
- 23:22SPEAKER_03: He's on the media and stuff, is he?
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: And the Fernando Forresteri.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: Sounds like a player, doesn't he?
- 23:28SPEAKER_03: Berini was there last year when I was there.
- 23:30SPEAKER_03: Who?
- 23:30SPEAKER_03: Um is it Berini?
- 23:32SPEAKER_03: I thought you said Lars Bohina.
- 23:34SPEAKER_03: Remember?
- 23:34SPEAKER_03: He's Laz Forest.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: I remember him, I but is it Berini?
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: Newcastle.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: I saw it, Sunderland.
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:42SPEAKER_03: He came last year.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: So I hunts went there, didn't he?
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: Hunts was the year before me, aye.
- 23:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:48SPEAKER_03: That's decent that.
- 23:49SPEAKER_03: Decent.
- 23:50SPEAKER_03: And also, right, I don't know if you played in it.
- 23:53SPEAKER_03: So before all these kids we coached, they go to Dallas now, they go to Dubai, they go all there.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: The best, and I'm pleased to say it's still going.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: The best youth tournament when we were younger, because there's only one Milk Cup, Northern Ireland.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: Oh, that was amazing.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: Loved it.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: I went, and my team was Mickey Carrick.
- 24:10SPEAKER_03: Michael Carrick.
- 24:11SPEAKER_03: I've told this story before, but there's also a lad called Jamie Burt, who him and Michael Owen were up front for England under 15s.
- 24:17SPEAKER_03: What a talent, man.
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: Jamie Burt was going to be the main man.
- 24:20SPEAKER_03: But Michael Carrick put in his book.
- 24:22SPEAKER_03: I knew I wasn't going to sign for Newcastle when I was away at the Milk Cup.
- 24:25SPEAKER_03: And a lad like nicked a mini and brought it back to the digs.
- 24:28SPEAKER_03: That was Jamie.
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: But that's right, you know he's a lunatic.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: Col Rain.
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: We used to stay in Col Rain.
- 24:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: And then you used to walk through the streets.
- 24:35SPEAKER_03: You got paraded, didn't you?
- 24:36SPEAKER_03: We went through the streets as a shit again, yeah.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: And then you go, you end up at the final destination, you walk on.
- 24:41SPEAKER_03: So my new get a massive cheer.
- 24:43SPEAKER_03: We got Nick Castle got massive cheer, didn't it?
- 24:46SPEAKER_03: My mate's over there now.
- 24:47SPEAKER_03: So he has it.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: So Louis Quinn, a wee coach.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: Quinn's boy Louis doing really well.
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: Well it's sunlight.
- 24:53SPEAKER_03: Really well.
- 24:53SPEAKER_03: He's out there and Max Broom.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Chris Broom's boy, yeah.
- 24:56SPEAKER_03: He's at Blackburn.
- 24:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, both got the milk.
- 24:58SPEAKER_03: What's your mate doing out there, coaching or?
- 25:00SPEAKER_03: No, he works with Chelsea, like scouting like goalkeepers and that.
- 25:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:03SPEAKER_03: The youth.
- 25:03SPEAKER_03: So he's over there for like a few days.
- 25:06SPEAKER_03: I looked at some footage yesterday.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: I'm sure it's the same grounds.
- 25:09SPEAKER_03: I played at and that's what I'm saying.
- 25:10SPEAKER_03: It will be.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: It'll all be the same.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: It was just I mean, I I think I've told you before, Joe Cole was playing for West Ham.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: They won it.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: I've never seen anything like it.
- 25:18SPEAKER_03: A 14-year-old.
- 25:19SPEAKER_03: I was like, how can you be that coach?
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: We had uh Martin Taylor and my team.
- 25:23SPEAKER_03: Big tall.
- 25:24unknown: Yeah.
- 25:25SPEAKER_03: Tiny they used to call him at Blackburn.
- 25:27SPEAKER_03: He was the one who Ramsey's leg.
- 25:29SPEAKER_03: Was it no Ramsey's leg?
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: Eduardo for Arsenal.
- 25:33SPEAKER_03: Randall's won it.
- 25:34SPEAKER_03: But he didn't touch him, he was the nicest kid in the world.
- 25:36SPEAKER_03: He kind of touched it, but didn't mean it.
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 25:39SPEAKER_03: Manu when I played, they had Wellens.
- 25:42SPEAKER_03: Oh I played against him in that Blackpool.
- 25:43SPEAKER_03: He was he was quite Middlesbrough, wasn't it?
- 25:45SPEAKER_03: Very good.
- 25:47SPEAKER_03: Aye, so they go to Miami and all that now, but takes some beating Northern Ireland though, doesn't it?
- 25:52SPEAKER_03: Class.
- 25:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: Keith Ward, I've had a little message in.
- 25:56SPEAKER_03: Dylan will be okay in the Crown at Stanick's pub.
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: Diane, who runs it, and her husband Ian are from Air.
- 26:04SPEAKER_03: And he is still broad Scottish after being in Cumbria for 30 years.
- 26:08SPEAKER_03: Still follows Air too.
- 26:10SPEAKER_03: Really nice folk.
- 26:11SPEAKER_03: That's from Keith Ward, so you need to get him.
- 26:13SPEAKER_03: Well, we need to go up there, won't we?
- 26:15SPEAKER_03: We need that little Stannox Tandori, the cat.
- 26:20SPEAKER_03: Good little and uh the crown.
- 26:21SPEAKER_03: Good little strip, isn't it?
- 26:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:22SPEAKER_03: What's the new place?
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: You said it's opening up the spider and fly.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: It was a spider and fly, it's just got a new name, hasn't it?
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Summit Bar and Grill, but look, yeah.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: I think it'll be opening soon because it looks like it's uh ready to open, like so.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: Get us up there.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we'll give that a go, yeah.
- 26:34SPEAKER_03: My barbers is right next to there as well.
- 26:36SPEAKER_03: Oh, Duke.
- 26:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so it is.
- 26:38SPEAKER_03: Go and get a drum.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: I don't like to cut your hair.
- 26:40SPEAKER_03: You'll be a right fussy.
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: It's been doing it for eight years now.
- 26:43SPEAKER_03: Going and get skip skip's um skin fade.
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: Aye.
- 26:47SPEAKER_03: Nice done.
- 26:48SPEAKER_03: It's only that in COVID that has a skin fade.
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: What's canning on dumb in it?
- 26:52SPEAKER_03: Oh honestly, me and the missus had the absolute nightmare, so we did everybody was all done like scissors and shavers and that, weren't they?
- 26:59SPEAKER_03: Online.
- 26:59SPEAKER_03: I have how much did they go up for?
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: It's hard to get a fucking pair of a haircut for the scissors, wasn't it?
- 27:04SPEAKER_03: Hairdressers.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: But um me and her are like arguing honestly like all the time.
- 27:08SPEAKER_03: Like it took me about three, four hours to get a haircut.
- 27:11SPEAKER_03: Like we do a little bit, and I'm watching on the mirror and I'm like trying to like directly.
- 27:15SPEAKER_03: If I go do it yourself, do it yourself, banging it down, going away for like 20 minutes, and I'm like, I get half a haircut, and I'm like, please, please, can you finish this off?
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: I'll put gossip curl on.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, as you say, weights and hair trippers went up cover on Amazon.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: So I got mine done and it kind of didn't look the best.
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: I tried to do it myself.
- 27:35SPEAKER_03: I got Paul Newton over.
- 27:36SPEAKER_03: He only lived opposite, didn't he?
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: So he's in my bubble and he came over and done it.
- 27:40SPEAKER_03: He went, oof.
- 27:41SPEAKER_03: So Paul Newton, who off BBC and runs the uh Callell Social, he came over and done it.
- 27:46SPEAKER_03: He saved us.
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: But I had a great question.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: What makes a good boozer?
- 27:53SPEAKER_03: Not you know.
- 27:54SPEAKER_03: I know exactly what it is, but I'll let you go first.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: No cues and I link.
- 27:58SPEAKER_03: If you want to go into a boozer, if we're we're going out soon out on a Sunday, what are you looking for in a boozer boozer?
- 28:04SPEAKER_03: Food.
- 28:05SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, he's not coming out of us.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: I'm a foodie, mate.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: I I love no, I know what I need like see like chicken wings and like loaded fries and stuff.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: I need packy bit.
- 28:14SPEAKER_03: Is that the first thing you think of when we're talking booze?
- 28:16SPEAKER_03: Obviously, a good pint, though.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: Right, we've got it, we've got a panel opening coming up on three in the middle, because he's just talked himself out of it.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: Like food, send your CVs in.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: How many pints can you drink?
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: Chicken wings in every book.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: No, do you know what?
- 28:32SPEAKER_03: Like, I'll have like I'll I'll usually start with like a copper burglar ciders.
- 28:36SPEAKER_03: See if I'm drinking during the day, I won't because I like like a Jack Daniels, but I'm not drinking that.
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: Ah, you've got you've got nowhere to go up here if you go to the Sunday though.
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: I need the I need the football on.
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah?
- 28:46SPEAKER_03: That's what I mean.
- 28:46SPEAKER_03: Like football on.
- 28:47SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: Couple of ciders, chicken wings, some chips.
- 28:51SPEAKER_03: Just I'll take this on, shall I?
- 28:54SPEAKER_03: So what are you having?
- 28:56SPEAKER_03: Right, right, right.
- 28:58SPEAKER_03: It's got to be at least three loggers.
- 29:01SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 29:01SPEAKER_03: So you can have your Shani Foster's, which I won't have, you can have your cruise campo, and then another.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: Got to have your Guinness.
- 29:08SPEAKER_03: Why?
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: Just because I'll be with someone who wants Guinness, I don't know.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: I haven't got it.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Guinness fan, I hate this.
- 29:14SPEAKER_03: So you've got to have a good selection, you've got to have a real ill, then you've got to have your side, all that, right?
- 29:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:18SPEAKER_03: You've got to have a dartboard and a pool table.
- 29:20SPEAKER_03: Good show.
- 29:21SPEAKER_03: If we're going out for a Sunday and the foot is on, so if the foot is on, that's a given.
- 29:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:25SPEAKER_03: Pool table, dartboard, creates a bit of atmosphere.
- 29:28SPEAKER_03: It's there.
- 29:29SPEAKER_03: I won't use it.
- 29:30SPEAKER_03: Just say it's an option, I'm massive for when the football finishes and you're kicking on, you need a jukebox.
- 29:34SPEAKER_03: This is the perfect boozer here.
- 29:37SPEAKER_02: You could tell it's a season pro is one of them video ones.
- 29:40SPEAKER_03: We've still used a jukebox.
- 29:42SPEAKER_03: And as you say, I can disconnect the Bluetooth and I'll put it on the book.
- 29:45SPEAKER_03: I can do a food, but a limited menu.
- 29:48SPEAKER_03: I don't want people ordering there, there, there.
- 29:49SPEAKER_03: I want right.
- 29:50SPEAKER_03: This is your choices.
- 29:51SPEAKER_03: You've got nachos, chicken wings, da-da-da, burger, fish and chips, towed in the hole, done.
- 29:58SPEAKER_03: I don't want someone coming in and going like an order, isn't it?
- 30:01SPEAKER_03: I want like sea bass, and then the whole pub's stinking.
- 30:04SPEAKER_03: Your clothes are like.
- 30:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:07SPEAKER_03: What about the vibe inside there?
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: Is it like older but better?
- 30:10SPEAKER_03: Like a dark, dingy pub, or like an open kind of vibey kind of pub.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: Let people smoke again.
- 30:16SPEAKER_03: No, because then you've got to wash your clothes.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: The uh it's middle ground.
- 30:22SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you what, it's good round.
- 30:23SPEAKER_03: The Cali's got a great one, BI's got a great atmosphere, Crown Up, it's Stanix's got a great one.
- 30:29SPEAKER_03: Others, uh there's not one round here I I don't mind going into.
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, you're right there.
- 30:36SPEAKER_02: Um I like the food.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: This is what the juice box shout, like uh, but I I'm just a big I if it's a Sunday, I I do like the football being on because obviously I like a bit, um, but I'm quite easy going.
- 30:48SPEAKER_03: Like, not too busy either.
- 30:50SPEAKER_03: Do you know the post but the problem down like down here is they'd rather show like West Brom, I don't know, Sundon or something, than Celtic and Rangers games on.
- 30:59SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 30:59SPEAKER_03: Or whatever it is, Hibs and Hearts.
- 31:01SPEAKER_03: No, because it's on what's on premier sports.
- 31:03SPEAKER_03: It's on Sky Sports now, isn't it?
- 31:04SPEAKER_03: I know, but there's places like see when I was down near Bat, like I went in an Irish bar and I said, Oh, the day before, I said, Oh, you've got the old forum on tomorrow so I can come watch it.
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: She's like, Oh, we don't show any of the football.
- 31:14SPEAKER_03: The Irish bar.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: I thought she was like, We don't think it's going at the Gallagher's.
- 31:21SPEAKER_02: Why not?
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: If you'd never been in the world.
- 31:23SPEAKER_03: Well, I've inquired about that because when I first seen it, I thought, oh, an Irish bar, that'd be good for that night.
- 31:27SPEAKER_03: Do you know where you've got to go for the derby?
- 31:29SPEAKER_03: You've either got to go Cali or you've got to go to the Apple Tree.
- 31:34SPEAKER_03: It's just the old firm.
- 31:35SPEAKER_03: I think the next old firm you should come with me and we'll go to Glasgow.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: I have the trains, we'll do a walkthrough and stuff.
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: Trains are late on a Sunday.
- 31:43SPEAKER_03: I you wouldn't get there for half twelve hours.
- 31:45SPEAKER_03: We'll get a bus, we'll get a sports bus, pick us up and we'll.
- 31:46SPEAKER_03: Maybe I've had a lot of attention to my bar crawl around Carlisle and ones I've ticked off and ones I haven't.
- 31:51SPEAKER_03: One's come up where I haven't.
- 31:52SPEAKER_03: Where?
- 31:53SPEAKER_03: The Lint.
- 31:54SPEAKER_03: Have you not been in there?
- 31:55SPEAKER_03: Is it what's its full name?
- 31:56SPEAKER_03: The Linton Home Linton Home.
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: Well is it?
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: It's off the beaten track, like it's um right down London Road.
- 32:03SPEAKER_02: It's not near where the rest of the boozers are.
- 32:04SPEAKER_03: It's kind of tarnas.
- 32:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, around there.
- 32:07SPEAKER_03: Like I thought you'd have been in there.
- 32:09SPEAKER_03: No?
- 32:10SPEAKER_03: Red fern I've still got to do.
- 32:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:12SPEAKER_03: Anyone else text in.
- 32:13SPEAKER_03: There's one.
- 32:14SPEAKER_03: Because I've got to call them all off.
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: Near boot.
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: Being in there, boots.
- 32:17SPEAKER_03: Oh, you live in Houghton, don't you?
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Uh oh, you did?
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: Er.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: Where else?
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: Where else?
- 32:24SPEAKER_03: No, I can't think of any of them.
- 32:26SPEAKER_03: Done the museum.
- 32:28SPEAKER_03: Museum.
- 32:29SPEAKER_03: You've done the one at Morton.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: You've been for a bit.
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: The Arroya?
- 32:33unknown: I.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: Have you?
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: Dartboards on the ceiling.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: Someone helped me out, right, with this Arroya, right?
- 32:38SPEAKER_03: I went to the Arroya back in 2016, and I swear for a couple of months that a Chinese restaurant ran out of it.
- 32:45SPEAKER_03: Or not this again.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 32:49SPEAKER_03: I don't think so.
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: People keep saying no, but I can't get in touch with Bello to confirm it.
- 32:54SPEAKER_03: How many Chinese?
- 32:55SPEAKER_03: The kitchen was a Chinese takeaway.
- 32:59SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 33:01SPEAKER_03: I'm telling you, it was, and everyone's looking at me like I'm daft.
- 33:03SPEAKER_03: Tell you what, it does well now, the Arroyo.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: I mean, the Smeggy and a few others have got it, and on Sundays, it's that who's got it.
- 33:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and on Sundays, mate, it's like a like a nightclub.
- 33:12SPEAKER_03: What a laugh.
- 33:13SPEAKER_03: I have one with them in the pub.
- 33:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, you do, yeah?
- 33:16SPEAKER_03: And then you're head down, don't know.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: I need to get back in the arroya.
- 33:20SPEAKER_03: Get take him in.
- 33:22SPEAKER_03: Get a Chinese as well.
- 33:23SPEAKER_03: There's dartboards on the ceiling.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: I don't know if people lie on the back and play a dartboard.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: There's dartboards in the ceiling square down.
- 33:29SPEAKER_03: That's it, one in the morning.
- 33:30SPEAKER_03: Anyway, it was getting us thinking.
- 33:33SPEAKER_03: You know how deer drinking's very, very like popular now?
- 33:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:36SPEAKER_03: Well, before it was, it was always six o'clock or seven o'clock, you go out, don't you?
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: Four o'clock was like, you're out early.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: So Whitley Bay on a bank holiday.
- 33:44SPEAKER_03: Whitley Bay, bank holiday Mondays.
- 33:46SPEAKER_03: Lemon Lounge.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: No.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: So you'd go down to Whitley Bay at 11 o'clock in the morning, and all the it's just a street of bars, either side, and they were open from 11 till about six at night, and it was just nightclub.
- 34:00SPEAKER_03: Like you'd be dancing to tunes, like eight streets back in the day.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: And you'd walk out, it's still sunny.
- 34:06SPEAKER_03: So it's kind of like a holiday thing.
- 34:08SPEAKER_03: So Michael Bridges took uh Robbie Keane.
- 34:12SPEAKER_03: So Robbie Keane, so Bridgie lives just opposite this Whitley Bay, like where it is, and you have to walk, but you have to go over a hill.
- 34:18SPEAKER_03: Robbie Keane said he went, What's that music?
- 34:20SPEAKER_03: He said, Oh yeah, it was just Bridges went, just watch this.
- 34:24SPEAKER_03: And over the hill.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: Just went, Oh my god, we enrolled.
- 34:29SPEAKER_03: And um he's buzzing and loves it, Robbie Keane.
- 34:31SPEAKER_03: But Mikey Bridges that day had told everyone who was coming over, he's signing for New Castle tomorrow.
- 34:36SPEAKER_03: And everyone was like, buzzing that Robbie Keane was signing about Newcastle.
- 34:39SPEAKER_03: And then the end of the 2006, six-seven season, I took Joe Garner, Jeff Smith, Gary Medine, Danny Graham down, and they were just like, This is unreal.
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: Well, me and Bradley all used to live with Graham Fenton's mum and um and we we went, we just had a walk down once and we like go like wow, this is mental.
- 34:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:57SPEAKER_03: Class.
- 34:58SPEAKER_03: What's the best drinking day?
- 35:00SPEAKER_03: New Year's Day, Boxing Day, or Christmas Eve?
- 35:06SPEAKER_03: Well, no Christmas Eve, man.
- 35:08SPEAKER_03: For me, it's a New Year's Day because I've had a lot of Eve.
- 35:11SPEAKER_03: Have you?
- 35:11SPEAKER_03: Well, Christmas.
- 35:12SPEAKER_03: Christmas indeed, wake up with the head on your eye.
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, we take the kids, my lot, and um my best mate, who lives a lot week, take the kids bowling.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Then we go the last zebra route um every year.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: And then me and him try not to have too many, so we're not too bad on Christmas morning.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: But New Year's Day, I always go to the Hadaby Catholic Club, and it's a day thing, and it's mental.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: I think Boxing Day is class for the footy.
- 35:37SPEAKER_03: It's a Saturday.
- 35:39SPEAKER_03: When I first retired, Boxing Day, oh it's a Saturday this year.
- 35:43SPEAKER_03: I think Boxing Day for me, but again, I've never really had the opportunity to proper enjoy.
- 35:48SPEAKER_03: Even Christmas and that as well.
- 35:48SPEAKER_03: You've been through the same thing, but you've always got a game like Boxing Day or New Year's Day.
- 35:53SPEAKER_03: I loved playing through Christmas.
- 35:55SPEAKER_03: Tell you what, this one time on Christmas Day I went too far with the food, like we had Bly Spartans on Boxing Day.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: For who?
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, for working.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I couldn't move.
- 36:04SPEAKER_02: All I could taste was like turkey and quality street and all that.
- 36:08SPEAKER_03: It was like pegs in blankets.
- 36:10SPEAKER_03: This is what this is what I say to people, right?
- 36:13SPEAKER_03: This is what I say in my talks.
- 36:14SPEAKER_03: I say, name three things of football as what you think of.
- 36:18SPEAKER_03: In the kids, they go, money, um, possessions, followers.
- 36:23SPEAKER_03: And I says, What about sacrifice?
- 36:25SPEAKER_03: And they went, What do you mean sacrifice?
- 36:26SPEAKER_03: I says, Tell me what you do on Christmas morning.
- 36:28SPEAKER_03: And they're like, get up, get my presents.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: I went, tell us what you eat that afternoon.
- 36:32SPEAKER_03: And they tell us.
- 36:33SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, one of my Christmases, I got up, half eight, drove into Carlisle, trained, went back, didn't eat your Christmas dinner, had like stuff, yeah.
- 36:44SPEAKER_03: Back over on the bus, hotel Christmas Day and night for a game on Boxing Day.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: I had that for years at South.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I played?
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: Did you ever stay in a hotel Christmas Day and night?
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: Well, I well we played for when I played for Paul Cook at Southport, we were rock bottom in the conference, and just as a punishment, he brought us in on Christmas Day, so I drove from Carlisle to Southport, played head tennis, and then drove home.
- 37:07SPEAKER_03: Uh but I just think now, like, surely you think we've got three tough spell.
- 37:12SPEAKER_03: What's going to get the lads back on side a little bit?
- 37:15SPEAKER_03: Do you know?
- 37:15SPEAKER_03: Like, give us a little something.
- 37:17SPEAKER_03: Lads, there you go.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: There's Christmas Day off.
- 37:19SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 37:19SPEAKER_03: Like Simmo, can I just Simmo was good back?
- 37:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 37:24SPEAKER_03: How many years we've got?
- 37:25SPEAKER_03: Similar was good because Simul said in weeks in advance, you're gonna be in because we've got and you're like, right, get your head rounded.
- 37:30SPEAKER_03: What do you want to do?
- 37:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 37:31SPEAKER_03: Do you just want to come in at four o'clock?
- 37:33SPEAKER_03: Do you just want to come in?
- 37:34SPEAKER_03: It went earlier the better.
- 37:35SPEAKER_03: So we up.
- 37:37SPEAKER_03: It was alright for me.
- 37:38SPEAKER_03: I didn't have kids.
- 37:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 37:39SPEAKER_03: So I was up, out, train.
- 37:42SPEAKER_03: By the time I got back with my mum's, you can smell the dinner.
- 37:44SPEAKER_03: But like Paul Ornison had kids, so we went, he went, what about this gaffer?
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: I get up with my kids at six, do the presents, train at half eight, nine, and simo went perfect.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: Everyone, all for like mum and dad got through that.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 37:58SPEAKER_03: And then he gauged the room, whereas others go, You're in at this time.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, Dolly told that story, didn't he?
- 38:03SPEAKER_03: Roddy saying, Come and report at four o'clock in the afternoon or five o'clock at night.
- 38:07SPEAKER_03: Dolly was Charles Heinz in.
- 38:09SPEAKER_03: Donovan at the back like that.
- 38:10SPEAKER_03: He went, I'm just trying to not have eye contact with them.
- 38:13SPEAKER_03: You couldn't have seen them anyway.
- 38:15SPEAKER_03: Roddy clocked him about four times.
- 38:17SPEAKER_03: So yeah, New Year's Day, I like.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: I don't like New Year's Eve.
- 38:21SPEAKER_03: Not bothering New Year's Eve.
- 38:23SPEAKER_03: I've got work for New Year's.
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: New Year's Day.
- 38:27SPEAKER_03: Right, you two clowns.
- 38:28SPEAKER_03: Let's go.
- 38:29SPEAKER_03: Clown watch, is it?
- 38:30SPEAKER_03: No, not yet.
- 38:31SPEAKER_03: I've got a good one.
- 38:32SPEAKER_03: I know it is.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: Did you say these?
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: No, no, no.
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm guessing.
- 38:37SPEAKER_03: Who am I?
- 38:37SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 38:38SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna name the teams again.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: You come down for a minute.
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: I've got mine, yep.
- 38:42SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 38:43SPEAKER_03: So, I'm just naming the teams, you name who it is.
- 38:46SPEAKER_03: Come on then.
- 38:47SPEAKER_03: Man City, Cardiff, Celtic, Belnie, Middlesbrough, Gundai United.
- 38:57SPEAKER_03: Aberdeen, Dundee United.
- 38:59SPEAKER_03: Where there?
- 39:00SPEAKER_03: Start again.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: I'm trying again.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: He wasn't right either.
- 39:05SPEAKER_02: He was talking about it.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: Man City caught Man City Celtic.
- 39:08SPEAKER_03: Man City, Cardiff, Celtic.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: I Bellamy only had four teams before that.
- 39:13SPEAKER_03: Do you want them again?
- 39:14SPEAKER_03: Dundee United, Kevin.
- 39:15SPEAKER_03: I think.
- 39:17SPEAKER_03: Think.
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: Man City.
- 39:20SPEAKER_03: I'm going to put this out there.
- 39:21SPEAKER_03: None of the viewers will get this.
- 39:22SPEAKER_03: I don't think I'm going to get it.
- 39:23SPEAKER_03: Man City, Cardiff, Celtic, Middlesbrough, Dundee United, Aberdeen, Dundee United.
- 39:32SPEAKER_03: Easy.
- 39:32SPEAKER_03: Easy.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: Wallow Flood.

- 43:58SPEAKER_03: He's not ready, he's not prepared.
- 44:00SPEAKER_03: I know what you're getting yourself into, yeah.
- 44:02SPEAKER_03: I've just took a picture of it on my laptop, so I've got it here.
- 44:05SPEAKER_03: Right, come on then.
- 44:06unknown: Right.

- 44:29SPEAKER_03: Houghton.
- 44:30SPEAKER_03: Alan Houghton.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: Why don't I get Jack Clark wrong?
- 44:33unknown: Jack Clark.
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: Cheers to it.
- 44:35SPEAKER_03: Join Pembley Aston Villa.
- 44:39SPEAKER_03: Um loan stints at Mallorca.
- 44:42SPEAKER_03: Nottingham Forest and Bolton.
- 44:44SPEAKER_03: And then he went Villa.
- 44:45SPEAKER_03: I went Villa there, yeah, and then representing Scotland.
- 44:49SPEAKER_03: National team owned 50 caps of Scotland.
- 44:53SPEAKER_03: At one point he was top draw.
- 44:54SPEAKER_03: Ah he was good.
- 44:55SPEAKER_03: But the scene when he went to Tottenham and that he was really good, wasn't he?
- 44:57SPEAKER_03: Powerful.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: Right, I've got another one for you.
- 45:00SPEAKER_03: Oh yes.
- 45:00SPEAKER_03: I won't answer.
- 45:01SPEAKER_03: He has it.
- 45:02SPEAKER_03: He has to be a little bit more.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: This is more your your ear.
- 45:04SPEAKER_03: Right, come on then.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: Aye, black and white.
- 45:06SPEAKER_03: Right, don't answer until I'm finished.
- 45:08SPEAKER_03: Right, right, okay.
- 45:09SPEAKER_03: So started his senior professional journey, home country in Scotland, making 70 appearances for Motherwell.
- 45:18SPEAKER_03: Moved to Leicester, made over 200 appearances.
- 45:22SPEAKER_03: And then moved to Leeds, won his first division in 91-92, alongside Gordon Stratton.
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: I know it is.
- 45:29SPEAKER_03: And then moved to Coventry, acted as a captain, won in the Play of the Year, his final season for the Sky Blues.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: Then moved to Liverpool Liverpool, enjoyed the legendary year.
- 45:43SPEAKER_03: 35, I'm reading this out what he's done here.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: 57 caps for Scotland.
- 45:49SPEAKER_03: Captain representing Scotland both Euro Europol 92, Mr.
- 45:53SPEAKER_03: Penn 92, and Euro 96.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: Mr.
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: Penn against Seaman.
- 45:57SPEAKER_03: Go on.
- 45:57SPEAKER_03: Seaman saves.
- 45:58SPEAKER_03: Go on, let me you do it.
- 45:59SPEAKER_03: Too easy for you, on it.
- 46:00SPEAKER_03: Met him in Mar Bay after he'd done the treble with Liverpool.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: Gary McAllister.
- 46:07SPEAKER_03: Clown watch.
- 46:09SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: Thought it would be.
- 46:11SPEAKER_03: York City Football Club can confirm that Stuart Maynard will be leaving his role as first team manager with immediate effect.
- 46:18SPEAKER_03: This has not been an easy decision and it is not one the board has taken lightly.
- 46:23SPEAKER_03: Nay shit.
- 46:24SPEAKER_03: Ultimately, it comes down to a difference in direction and vision for the football club.
- 46:28SPEAKER_03: I need you to listen very carefully, Dylan, because I need your as a modern player for what the lads and that.
- 46:34SPEAKER_03: I think we recognise that from the outside, this may look like a strange or difficult decision to understand.
- 46:41SPEAKER_03: Nay shit.
- 46:42SPEAKER_03: But we believe that in the long term, the football club will be in a stronger position because of it.
- 46:47SPEAKER_03: Another steps towards the vision we, as the custodians of this club, believe will deliver sustained success.
- 46:53SPEAKER_03: Like our every one of you, we love this football club.
- 46:56SPEAKER_03: No, you don't.
- 46:57SPEAKER_03: And we would never make a decision we didn't believe was in the best long-term interests.
- 47:02SPEAKER_03: We hope our track record of appear improving year on year on has it earned us a decree of trust, fair enough.
- 47:08SPEAKER_03: And we understand that not everyone will agree with or fully understand the decision right away.
- 47:13SPEAKER_03: We would like to thank Stuart for his contribution to York City and wish him well for the future.
- 47:18SPEAKER_03: And then do we mention who do you want to deal with that first?
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: Strange, innit?
- 47:24SPEAKER_03: I think it's players.
- 47:27SPEAKER_03: How many weeks we're into pre-season now?
- 47:29SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 47:29SPEAKER_03: Well, in two weeks.
- 47:31SPEAKER_03: Is that a fallout?
- 47:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think it has to be.
- 47:33SPEAKER_03: I think it's something on like budget or players or something.
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: It's got to be.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: And they've just got change of directions just an excuse, innit?
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: 72% win ratio last year, and they've got someone in with 22% win ratio, is that right?
- 47:48SPEAKER_03: Something like that.
- 47:50SPEAKER_03: I know it's different leagues and that, but the lad they've got in, I don't understand.
- 47:54SPEAKER_03: So Jermaine DeFour left walking, didn't he?
- 47:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:57SPEAKER_03: And I thought, right, has this board been seduced by the old thing of get an ex-Premier League legend in?
- 48:04SPEAKER_03: And but no, I never in a million years would I have said that would be the next manager.
- 48:09SPEAKER_03: I thought we were going for a big hitter.
- 48:11SPEAKER_03: So who have they got in?
- 48:12SPEAKER_03: Scott Lindsay.
- 48:13SPEAKER_03: Got Saxon Crawley last year.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: See, that was another thing when I read it, I thought they must have some some massive name lined up.
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: And they just couldn't wait to get him in.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: Or Fallout, one of the two.
- 48:25SPEAKER_03: But obviously.
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: But clubs watch so hard to get a winning formula, don't they?
- 48:29SPEAKER_03: And like a culture and all that kind of thing, like going up last season and stuff, innit?
- 48:34SPEAKER_03: So like it's so hard to get that.
- 48:35SPEAKER_03: And they've got a massive when you win a league.
- 48:38SPEAKER_03: Halfway through preseason, isn't it?
- 48:39SPEAKER_03: When you win a league, you're together necessarily.
- 48:41SPEAKER_03: That's what I mean.
- 48:41SPEAKER_03: Like, think all the staff and everything.
- 48:42SPEAKER_03: It's just like been ripped up.
- 48:45SPEAKER_03: And then now potentially going to start again.
- 48:47SPEAKER_03: And the new manager comes in, wants to do his things a certain way.
- 48:50SPEAKER_03: Players maybe not you know what football's like, you know, or you've either played for the manager or you know somebody's played for them, so there might be good or bad stories about them.
- 48:58SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 48:59SPEAKER_03: Right away.
- 48:59SPEAKER_03: It's like as you say, the timing of it, like what what what what's gone on pre-season to the finally go I but I can't imagine the thought, I can't imagine him demand wanting to demand more money.
- 49:11SPEAKER_03: They change the direction, I think that's what it's like.
- 49:13SPEAKER_03: But he's thinking about that chairman.
- 49:15SPEAKER_03: He's thinking we've gone up, all we need to do is add a bits of a few bits of quality, and we'll have a right goal, and this is where we and the club are probably thinking, no, we just want to be stabilised.
- 49:25SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 49:25SPEAKER_03: Like see if we go up and we just we're our budget's gonna be like to be here, and he's thinking, well, I want it to be here.
- 49:31SPEAKER_03: Do you know?
- 49:32SPEAKER_03: Like, because at the end of the day, if you're budgeting for there, good chance you're gonna be there or underneath it.
- 49:38SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 49:38SPEAKER_03: Where he's thinking, well, and then who gets a sack after a couple of bad results?
- 49:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 49:42SPEAKER_03: Do you know he's thinking, well, I want to have a goal and try stay in the league or whatever.
- 49:45SPEAKER_03: It definitely doesn't go along with the philosophy of the last two managers either.
- 49:49SPEAKER_03: They pass out from the back.
- 49:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: Wasn't that wasn't that the case where you were at Carlisle and you nearly got out of league one, were in the panicking about going to the championship?
- 49:57SPEAKER_03: Oh hi, money was hell tough.
- 49:59SPEAKER_03: Because Fred had Fred it was Fred last year, wasn't it?
- 50:02SPEAKER_03: And all our wages would have gone up 25% and the bonuses, and they were like, nah.
- 50:08SPEAKER_03: Well kind of Halty alluded to it, didn't he?
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, could have got him in.
- 50:13SPEAKER_03: I did hear over the weekend, to be fair, not gonna drop my source in it, that money was made available to John Ward, and he said, if you don't spend it as well, it's up to you, you can use it for next year.
- 50:27SPEAKER_03: And he thought, well, we're gonna go up.
- 50:29SPEAKER_03: We went like eight, nine points clear.
- 50:31SPEAKER_03: So I'll I'll save it, we'll be alright.
- 50:33SPEAKER_03: And then Joe obviously done his cruise shit, yeah, and that soon gets whittled down that point too.
- 50:40SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 50:40SPEAKER_03: Uh but he lives with me every week.
- 50:42SPEAKER_03: That does it too strange when that York on though, innit?
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: I just think there's a feel-good factor about the place and everything with everyone involved, and then they're just just a bombish all what you don't you don't ever see that even if you want a second, give him a month.
- 50:54SPEAKER_03: Like, just go, you know what?
- 50:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: Because now everyone's like, instead of having this vibe of like eh, first day to see it, like, why puts a right answer on it, doesn't it?
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: And the new manager's unhiding tonight.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: You know what I thought?
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: Like an ex-Leeds legend was coming in.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: Do you know what something like that?
- 51:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:09SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: Anyway, what's the crack?
- 51:11SPEAKER_03: So by Tony Everton, yeah.
- 51:13SPEAKER_03: I'm meeting him on Saturday.
- 51:14SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah?
- 51:15SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 51:16SPEAKER_03: Have a couple of beers with them, try and tap them for some more.
- 51:20SPEAKER_03: Rob Gale from RHG Properties.
- 51:23SPEAKER_03: You scored a few past them in the 35s.
- 51:26SPEAKER_03: Morning, pal, these podcasts getting me through night shifts are brilliant.
- 51:30SPEAKER_03: Like goal one, unreal the film.
- 51:33SPEAKER_03: Goal two, unreal.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: Goal three, who even thought that plot would be a good idea?
- 51:38SPEAKER_03: To be fair, I turned the goal three off after like twice.
- 51:40SPEAKER_03: What was goal three?
- 51:41SPEAKER_03: World Cup, I think.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: Oh, was it?
- 51:43SPEAKER_03: I don't even think thingy was in it.
- 51:44SPEAKER_03: Oh man, that's he not nah.
- 51:47SPEAKER_03: Love the bland crack, as in the Indian.
- 51:49SPEAKER_03: My Indian go-to is chicken teaker, rogue, and josh, chips and a cheesy garlic naan, PS, curry is definitely an Indian.
- 51:57SPEAKER_03: I think we've yes.
- 52:00SPEAKER_03: As folk as food seems to be mentioned each week, I have a question that seems to divide a lot of folk when I ask it.
- 52:07SPEAKER_03: Do you start eating a colour and the caterpillar cake from the head or the arts?
- 52:14SPEAKER_03: I love that.
- 52:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I would usually take the head off and eat the head.
- 52:19SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 52:20SPEAKER_03: So and then slice it.
- 52:21SPEAKER_03: Would you take the head off with your like even the mini ones?
- 52:27SPEAKER_03: How do you do it?
- 52:28SPEAKER_03: I'm talking about the party ones, right?
- 52:30SPEAKER_03: No, you're talking about the wee ones.
- 52:32SPEAKER_03: I'm talking I'm talking the main, the little ones.
- 52:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 52:35SPEAKER_03: Bite the head off, the chop of the bit, then go from the head.
- 52:39SPEAKER_03: Er so the people going from the arse, saving the nice bit till the end.
- 52:44SPEAKER_03: I'm an arse man, like.
- 52:49SPEAKER_03: It's a great question.
- 52:50SPEAKER_03: It's a great question, right?
- 52:51SPEAKER_03: This started out as a football podcast, didn't it?
- 52:54SPEAKER_03: Do you know?
- 52:54SPEAKER_00: I know we're going about Indians a lot, but I was in Harrigat on um on Sunday, and we went, we went for a sit-down, obviously in Indian, me and the missus, we just didn't look at the menu and she asked for chicken tikka masala.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: They didn't do it.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: Eh?
- 53:07SPEAKER_00: Didn't do it.
- 53:08SPEAKER_00: He was like, sorry, we don't do it, so we got butter chicken instead.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: Now I know everyone's gonna say, What is that?
- 53:12SPEAKER_00: But it was phenomenal about that.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: I don't mean the butter chicken.
- 53:14SPEAKER_00: So then I spoke to Julian about this, and he said to sign of a good Indian that they don't do chicken tikam masala.
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: So it's kind of finished dish.
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: But it was really, really good.
- 53:24SPEAKER_03: Did you get my voice notes on the way down?
- 53:26SPEAKER_03: Did he did?
- 53:26SPEAKER_03: I wasn't begging with Skipping Dom not to walk out the hotel and go at the Weather Spoons and bed in there for two days.
- 53:33SPEAKER_03: I went, please, there'll be a there's a real ale pub on your left.
- 53:37SPEAKER_03: I know I can't convince you, you'll walk straight past that, but go a bit further down, explore.
- 53:42SPEAKER_03: We did went to a few like a proud dad when they took a picture outside this bar with cocktails.
- 53:47SPEAKER_03: I went, go on.
- 53:47SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 53:48SPEAKER_03: I was good.
- 53:48SPEAKER_03: I had a real good day to go for porn style martini.
- 53:52SPEAKER_03: I had um Mammas's later.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we had two.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: Um and it's his first ever cocktail.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: It is, and but the one in the just because she got it, I said I'll have one of them.
- 54:00SPEAKER_00: And one in the first bar was really good, but the second bar was tasted really different.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: But what's your favourite cocktail?
- 54:05SPEAKER_03: Oh, Dylan, I want you to tell the viewers your drink on the caprina thing.
- 54:10SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 54:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 54:11SPEAKER_03: Basically, guy who's on my licence, Brazilian, Portuguese boy, and we went out for a drink and in Edinburgh, and just in a random bar, and he was oh they've got they've got the drink and the Brazilian drink.
- 54:21SPEAKER_03: And I said, Well, let's get it.
- 54:23SPEAKER_03: So it's called a caprina, right?
- 54:24SPEAKER_03: Caprina or something.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: But anyway, really strong, tried it, loved it, and then over that summer, this was last year, over the summer, we went um Tenerife and the the place we were staying, sold them as well.
- 54:36SPEAKER_03: So what's in it?
- 54:37SPEAKER_03: Strong.
- 54:37SPEAKER_03: Ah, it's strong.
- 54:38SPEAKER_03: But it's one of the ones, see, after the first one, like the taste of it, a couple of sips, you'll get used to it.
- 54:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, the first couple you're like, it's a bit too much.
- 54:46SPEAKER_03: After that, you're fine.
- 54:46SPEAKER_03: But basically, it's like there's no mixer, it's called k uh kikache or something, it's called a Brazilian kind of liquor, yeah.
- 54:55SPEAKER_03: It's like 35 to 40 percent.
- 54:58SPEAKER_03: Basically, crushed limes with sugar, so it's kind of like a syrup, so you mash it all down, it's like a syrup.
- 55:04SPEAKER_03: Loads of like crushed ice, not crushed ice, like ice that's been broken up so it doesn't melt, yeah.
- 55:09SPEAKER_03: Solid ice, and then just fill your cup up with that.
- 55:12SPEAKER_03: So the gaffer nails out on his holders and he's on his cruise and he's found a place, hasn't he?
- 55:19SPEAKER_03: But um, I don't care.
- 55:22SPEAKER_03: I've heard from the day, probably overboard.
- 55:25SPEAKER_03: See, there's a plate, Yellow Jacket, Yellow Jacket, do it.
- 55:28SPEAKER_03: It's good, lad.
- 55:29SPEAKER_03: He does it.
- 55:30SPEAKER_03: Um Julian have been down happy.
- 55:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:32SPEAKER_03: Um, but he does everything.
- 55:33SPEAKER_03: I I even if he didn't, he'd do it on fire.
- 55:35SPEAKER_03: See, two then though, eyes are over the place.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: It'd be eyes.
- 55:39SPEAKER_03: Well, you've got to do coming up on a Sunday.
- 55:40SPEAKER_03: We're going over New Castle and we'll find somewhere who does it.
- 55:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we'll find we'll all have one, yeah.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: Next on chicken wings.
- 55:47SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 55:49SPEAKER_03: Hi guys, Tony from Egremont.
- 55:52SPEAKER_03: Hi guys, I recall during Chris's BBC days they had a good convo regarding service stations, good and bad and indifferent.
- 56:00SPEAKER_03: And then Bushead mentioned when he's seen Southwaite, he knew the glow of Carl was coming.
- 56:05SPEAKER_03: I was just wondering what your favourite service station is and worst and why.
- 56:10SPEAKER_03: Well, the big we've done the radio, haven't we?
- 56:13SPEAKER_03: James, I'm sure James diverts just to go to Gloucester.
- 56:16SPEAKER_03: So Gloucester or TB are the same out there.
- 56:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 56:18SPEAKER_03: But once you've been a few times, wears off, doesn't it?
- 56:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you've got to like sit, you get the it is it is great, good food, it's a lovely service, but when you've been a few times, sometimes you just want the quick is TB the one that's gonna like a garbage I found.
- 56:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's like Gloucester's the same.
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna shout out one, I don't know if you've been Peterborough.
- 56:37SPEAKER_03: You walk in, the first thing you see is a Chinese, and then every section is somewhere else, like Mexican, what's those?
- 56:45SPEAKER_03: Like loads of stalls, yeah, and it's not one that gets mentioned a lot.
- 56:49SPEAKER_03: But TBN gonna say yes for certain reasons, but Peterborough for me and Keel, awful.
- 56:54SPEAKER_03: Awful, awful keel.
- 56:57SPEAKER_03: We should have been to Keel on the way down, yeah.
- 56:58SPEAKER_03: Tell you the greatest KFC round, yeah.
- 57:01SPEAKER_03: Get yourself up to Gretna services, right?
- 57:03SPEAKER_03: It's better better than that one.
- 57:04SPEAKER_03: Got waitros as well.
- 57:06SPEAKER_03: Has it?
- 57:06SPEAKER_03: Aye, aye, Gretna services.
- 57:09SPEAKER_03: You have to go to Southway if you wanted a Burger King, not anymore.
- 57:11SPEAKER_03: It's be open soon morning in the middle of town.
- 57:13SPEAKER_03: People did drive to Southway for a Burger King.
- 57:15SPEAKER_03: I've done that, I've hung over for a Burger King.
- 57:17SPEAKER_02: Well, there'sn't one, is there?
- 57:19SPEAKER_03: There used to be, and it's coming back.
- 57:20SPEAKER_03: It's coming, it's just like literally.
- 57:21SPEAKER_03: So what's your favourite McDonald's, KFC or Burger King on a Sunday?
- 57:25SPEAKER_03: Hung over?
- 57:26SPEAKER_03: Er well I'll tell you, when I stayed up on a night, I used to stay up one night a week in Carlisle.
- 57:32SPEAKER_03: My treat was the Burger King, was it?
- 57:34SPEAKER_03: That was the treat.
- 57:35SPEAKER_03: But Burger King lately has been shampooed.
- 57:37SPEAKER_03: Like the best chips, best chips of McDonald's, best drink.
- 57:41SPEAKER_03: KFC have suddenly had the worst chips now that they're coming on strong.
- 57:44SPEAKER_03: Is that the cage and you can't?
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: They've got a new eye.
- 57:47SPEAKER_03: McDonald's.
- 57:48SPEAKER_03: No, what the best ones used to be Burger King's old school ones, the chips at the Burger King.
- 57:53SPEAKER_03: It was like proper bat like battered.
- 57:54SPEAKER_03: I'd say you can't beat a big Mac, but KFC, the chicken as well, is decent.
- 57:59SPEAKER_03: But what the what the chicken bugs called from the Birking and Um.
- 58:03SPEAKER_03: Ah, the chicken royale, that's it.
- 58:05SPEAKER_03: Chicken Royale.
- 58:06SPEAKER_03: They just remind me of so and I've honestly I hate Benadot Move and the way to Tenerife.
- 58:10SPEAKER_03: I think it was Newcastle's one.
- 58:12SPEAKER_03: It was like£16 for like a chicken royale.
- 58:15SPEAKER_02: What are you selling a little posh?
- 58:17SPEAKER_02: The only place that's kept the prices afterwing is Greg's.
- 58:22SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 58:22SPEAKER_02: It's creeping up by the way.
- 58:24SPEAKER_02: It's still decent though.
- 58:24SPEAKER_02: No, it's some other places.
- 58:26SPEAKER_03: It's creeping up.
- 58:27SPEAKER_03: Um Greg's are in services now.
- 58:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 58:29SPEAKER_03: It's creeping up.
- 58:30SPEAKER_03: Chonick Richards and Shambles as well.
- 58:33SPEAKER_03: A lot of them are just the same, aren't they?
- 58:34SPEAKER_03: A lot of them.
- 58:35SPEAKER_03: When you've done the radio, right?
- 58:36SPEAKER_03: On a Saturday night, so everyone I used to say this.
- 58:39SPEAKER_03: So everyone switches off at about five, half five, don't they?
- 58:41SPEAKER_03: We go on till six o'clock on the radio, and you're stuck in like Cambridge, and then nine o'clock at night, you're in a service station and you're just loading a snake.
- 58:50SPEAKER_03: Chopsticks that shuts in.
- 58:54SPEAKER_03: It used to be, you know what?
- 58:55SPEAKER_03: Harry Ramson's used to be open on nine, so you'd get away, they've all gone.
- 58:59SPEAKER_03: I just remember travelling back from games, like and obviously the fans are doing the same travel, so something we stopped.
- 59:04SPEAKER_03: Oh, and you're saying you're desperate for like a like a noodles or something, do you know what I mean?
- 59:08SPEAKER_03: Like proper something shitty food.
- 59:10SPEAKER_03: But the fans are all dogging the nerd, do you know what I mean?
- 59:12SPEAKER_03: And you're like fucking W Smith getting a meal deal, do you know what I mean?
- 59:15SPEAKER_03: Like a Sani or something.
- 59:16SPEAKER_03: We drove back from Millennium, we got beat off Swansea in the Millennium final, and we went to a service station.
- 59:22SPEAKER_03: We walked in, and the whole Carlisle were there, and they applaud us in and out, and they applaud us to the the bandits.
- 59:30SPEAKER_03: They thought we'll go out in the bog, everyone's piled on the bar, the roulette and that.
- 59:34SPEAKER_03: But uh funny story, we played Nottingham Forest on the sky on a Monday, and we stopped at Ferry Bridge, Doncaster, and they had a ladbrooks there, and it had in the window Danny Graham, one nil, Carlisle, like something like 15, 20 to 1, something like that.
- 59:49SPEAKER_03: No, it's 60 to 1, 1 nil Danny Graham, 60 to 1, and we all lumped on.
- 59:53SPEAKER_03: One.
- 59:53SPEAKER_03: Did they get?
- 59:55SPEAKER_03: Did you?
- 59:55SPEAKER_03: No.
- 59:55SPEAKER_03: We couldn't get it though.
- 59:56SPEAKER_03: It wasn't back in the day where you could go back to a ladbrooks.
- 59:59SPEAKER_03: Is that allowed?
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_03: No, but it there was no rule back then.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_03: Put your seal on it.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_01: Bus head back down a couple of weeks later, get it aye.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_03: Right, aye.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_03: Wait, what were they a total bit KFC in that then, weren't we?
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_03: Aye.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_03: Well, KFC are.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_03: McDonald's no get a look in for anything then, no?
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_03: Big Mac.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_03: I'd always go to a Big Mac.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_03: Aye.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_03: Do you know what?
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_03: I don't remember what we done, yeah.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_03: Right, nearly there.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_03: So, no service, crack?
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_03: I just used to be good.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_00: When I used to play for Port Vale, obviously I used to go on a Sunday night in Carlisle and then head back on a Monday morning, which wasn't right, but I'd done it.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_00: I'd done it.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_00: And I used to set off extra early, and there's just this uh there's sandbatch just before.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_02: Sandbatch, yeah?
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I just I just used to get the car seat back, a couple hours sleep, and then go train.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_03: I used to pull up at Barnsley, just I'd go on a Sunday mor on Monday morning sometime just to see my mum and dad for a bit longer.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_03: And uh Kev Dixon I used to play with, I'd just see his VM in the car for sit down.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_03: Getting a few others.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: It's amazing when you when you think about it.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_00: Honestly, there used to be there's me, McPhee, Steve Brooker, all of us on Mondays would just look must have looked like a bag of shit.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_00: And just trained, and you used to think you were getting the weekend out of you.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_00: You weren't.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_00: No, you didn't.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_00: You used to feel a little bit more.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, you think you'd put your head down for 40 minutes?
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_03: That's huge.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's all.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_03: Training you'd have a show you'd have a shower and you'd think, oh, I feel better, but you never.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_03: Nah, you didn't.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_03: You didn't, you're just kidding yourself.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_03: There was one day we all went out on a Monday and we got in, all the lads, and it was photo day, Panini sticker book day, Premier League, green screen.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_03: Give us a celebration.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: They put all the pictures up in the players' lounge.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_03: And I remember like mum walked in, she looked at my picture, and she just might as well have left the game.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_03: Not angry, I'm not angry, I'm disappointed.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_03: He knows we were played raw.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_03: Eyes are just like could smell the breath with it.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_03: But there was one Mark Mailing who made it said, ah get me out of here.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_03: Right, last one.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_03: Dylan, Skip and Chris, loving the podcast.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_03: Keep up the good work.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_03: During your football careers, you were idols, heroes to a lot of fans.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_01: Nah boot that.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_03: Can you tell me when you were growing up who your idols and heroes tell Dylan again?
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_03: Sadly, Curry is an Indian, not a Chinese.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_03: All the best guys, yeah.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_03: Davy Marshall.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_03: So we've been through, we all love Gaza.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Gascoin, yeah.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_03: We've been through a few of our heroes.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_03: When your hero really Larsett.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_03: Larson, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_03: Did you see the thing um to Ali McCoist state on open goal?
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_03: Stay quiet until you hear a better striker than Ali McCoyst.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_03: And he went all the way through to go.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_03: Drop Larson, drop.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_02: He's classic.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_02: And he's pulling tears as well.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_02: What did you say?
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_02: I've got a busy.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_02: He goes, I've got a bus.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_02: They've got to catch catch a bus soon.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_03: So Larson, Gaza, Gaza, Beardsley.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_03: I've got one.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_03: Lee Clark was my hero.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_03: Because uh I was 13, he was 18 in the team.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_03: So he always looked and went, he's an X.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_03: And then next thing we're teammates, and he's driving me around, or he's in my car.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_03: Scott Sellers in Newcastle.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_03: He was a player, by the way, yeah.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_03: Underrated.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_03: And then don't like him as much now, but I loved him when he played for Blackburn, captain when they won the league.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_03: Tim Sherwood.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_02: I'm a big Liverpool fan, so I I love Robbie Fowler.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_03: I was on holiday when he scored that hat rick in four minutes.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, when he burst when he burst on the CMA, he was phenomenal.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm sure he scored five on his debut.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_03: I knew that, innit?
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_03: He was top throw.
- 1:03:35unknown: Right.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_04: No.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_01: Midfielder any when you looked up.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_03: I love like Lennon and stuff, but I wouldn't really see they were my idols.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_03: Do you know?
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_03: Like Larson was just a different level.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_03: Everybody in Glasgow and stuff was just like unbelievable.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_03: But that's when I used to have watched such football when Gaza was at ranges and always thought I'd end up up there.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_03: Even when I was a 12-year-old, I went, I'll play up there.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_03: You'd have loved it.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_03: You'd have loved it.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_03: If you played it, mother well made a real attempt.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_03: Motherwell.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_03: I speak to like boys obviously down here.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_03: Obviously, Celtic and Rangers have took it on our level.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_03: But see, like lads that even the PFA thing and that when they've spoken about it before, oh I could have been to Scott Hibs were interested, the hearts like back then.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_03: I was like, honestly, you should have gone.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't have gone to the head.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_03: I would have gone Rangers, Celtic, obviously.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_03: I mean I would have went Hearts, Hibbs, Aberdeen, Dundee United.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_03: Don't think to me, I'm not sagging them off.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_03: Mother Well to us doesn't get that exposure.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_03: I know what you mean, yeah.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_03: Only the last year because the manager came in.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_03: The way the players were playing the way they played, but before they were kind of coming on, he loved it up there.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he did he did, yeah.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_00: Well Hotley went good playing.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_00: How long was Hotley Hibbs?
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah and a half.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but a year.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_03: But see C D saying in Edinburgh and stuff, like the lifestyle and that.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_03: Like and if you're playing for one of them teams, you're you're treated like a god in Edinburgh.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_03: Do you know I mean it's brilliant?
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_03: Um 2007, motherwell, strong, but sabby.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_03: Happy, absolutely running the show, yeah.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_03: Anything else to say?
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_03: Uh dad?
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_03: No, that's it.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_03: How's your paint?
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_03: No, I always babysitting at night, I think.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_03: What do you want us to do?
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_03: Seven o'clock in the morning.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_03: See it off then before we go.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_03: See it off before we go.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_03: He hasn't got it in him.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_03: He hasn't got it in Ellen Pays, man.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_02: Go on, go on, go on.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_02: Love that.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_02: That'll do, sir.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_03: Uh right, another one.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_03: Cheers.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_03: Thank you to the print yard again.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, thanks very much.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_03: Well, make sure we get in and everyone who comes down to get in.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, make sure you tag us and tag them.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_03: And we might throw out something for the people.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_03: Right, cheers.
