- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's talk about the Bama side of it for a
- 0:02Speaker 1: few minutes. Obviously, people will bring up the P.I. at
- 0:07Speaker 1: the end, which I think was P.I., but then you've
- 0:10Speaker 1: got to play at the end where a 15-yard penalty
- 0:13Speaker 1: essentially ends it.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Now, Georgia was running well enough where that might have
- 0:16Speaker 2: gotten ended anyway. It may not have been.
- 0:21Speaker 1: You just hate for it to come down to that,
- 0:22Speaker 1: and Kalen DeBoer certainly wasn't very thrilled about it. I
- 0:26Speaker 1: didn't think Bama played poorly. Like they obviously ended up
- 0:29Speaker 1: leading in the second half of this game. So it
- 0:31Speaker 1: wasn't like they were just out of it, but you know,
- 0:34Speaker 1: the biggest takeaway that I have is, is the mistakes
- 0:36Speaker 1: you fumble on the first drive. You have a penalty
- 0:38Speaker 1: that ends the thing on the last drive and you
- 0:41Speaker 1: just didn't play them well enough. The concerns I had
- 0:43Speaker 1: around this defense during the Florida state game, you know,
- 0:48Speaker 1: it was a different kind of defensive letdown here. At times,
- 0:54Speaker 1: at the end of the day, you held Georgia to
- 0:56Speaker 1: 20 points. So I'm not trying to give the defense
- 0:57Speaker 1: too much crap.
- 0:58Speaker 2: But they did run really, really well on you. And obviously,
- 1:02Speaker 2: a running game travels.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But we talk about this all the time. You just
- 1:06Speaker 1: look at the box score, and you see who ran
- 1:07Speaker 1: the ball better, and that's typically the team that wins. Now,
- 1:11Speaker 1: Bama had their chances, but not good enough. But I
- 1:15Speaker 1: thought they played well enough. Keelan Russell certainly played the
- 1:17Speaker 1: best defense he's seen so far, and that was a
- 1:20Speaker 1: little bit of a... a comeback to earth moment maybe
- 1:23Speaker 1: for him. But what are your thoughts on Bama here
- 1:27Speaker 1: presented by PrizePix?
- 1:29Speaker 3: Let's start with the obvious. I think the better team
- 1:31Speaker 3: won at the end of the day. No matter how
- 1:33Speaker 3: you want to phrase it, I think the better team
- 1:34Speaker 3: going into this game was Georgia. I said Bama would
- 1:37Speaker 3: win because they're playing better football, but the better team
- 1:40Speaker 3: found a way to win. I think that you saw
- 1:43Speaker 3: a couple more explosives from Georgia's side that you didn't
- 1:45Speaker 3: get from Alabama's side. I thought Alabama's defense played really,
- 1:48Speaker 3: really well at times. And then they allowed an explosive
- 1:51Speaker 3: and they allowed a play that, that was a lot
- 1:52Speaker 3: that gave the opportunity and the momentum back to Georgia.
- 1:56Speaker 3: That drive to start the second half was one to
- 1:58Speaker 3: where you started to realize, okay, now you're in a
- 2:00Speaker 3: little bit of trouble because they went just down the
- 2:02Speaker 3: field with the breeze and it was.
- 2:03Speaker 2: A walk-in touchdown for Gunnar Stockton. And there was no
- 2:05Speaker 2: answer in that play.
- 2:06Speaker 3: So I was at that point, if you weren't Alabama fan,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I think that you were starting to worry that, okay,
- 2:10Speaker 3: this is the team that we see in the second half.
- 2:12Speaker 2: We could be in for a world of hurt.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Um, For as many good throws as you had from
- 2:17Speaker 3: Keelan Russell, you had bad ones. For as many good
- 2:20Speaker 3: impressive catches you saw, there were some bad ones. The
- 2:24Speaker 3: officiating was a crap show. I'm not going to blame
- 2:28Speaker 3: officiating for the reason why Alabama lost this football game.
- 2:31Speaker 3: But if you are an Alabama fan waking up this morning,
- 2:33Speaker 3: I understand why your frustrations are there. Because it's not
- 2:36Speaker 3: just the P.I. play. It isn't. Let's talk about the
- 2:39Speaker 3: interception inside the red zone that initially was called an interception.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And there was no line that showed it to where
- 2:45Speaker 3: it hit the ground. None. None whatsoever. And they immediately
- 2:48Speaker 3: overturned it. How many missed penalties did you see on
- 2:53Speaker 3: Georgia from holding calls, from pass interference calls? The same
- 2:56Speaker 3: ones that were held on you probably. So you can
- 2:58Speaker 3: go ahead and call that a watch. The Ryan Coleman's
- 3:01Speaker 3: William hit that not enough people I think were talking
- 3:03Speaker 3: about for the targeting. I have no problem that it
- 3:05Speaker 3: wasn't called targeting. What I think the problem was is
- 3:08Speaker 3: it wasn't reviewed as targeting. Because he left the game
- 3:11Speaker 3: at that point and they took his helmet away. So
- 3:13Speaker 3: when it's a play like that, I think that you
- 3:15Speaker 3: have to review it. Because that's just a smart moment
- 3:17Speaker 3: for the SEC. Then you talk about, again, the PI
- 3:21Speaker 3: in the back of the end zone. Guys, I don't
- 3:25Speaker 3: know if Alabama scores a touchdown. I don't know if
- 3:27Speaker 3: Alabama's defense doesn't give up a touchdown on the last drive.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Facts are facts.
- 3:31Speaker 2: It was a PI call.
- 3:32Speaker 3: And it was a blown missed opportunity. It simply was.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I'm not going to sit here and argue with you.
- 3:37Speaker 3: But then Keelan Russell showed you on the same drive,
- 3:40Speaker 3: in that moment, a young quarterback making young quarterback mistakes.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I'll get right back to this clip of the Power
- 3:46Speaker 1: 2 on College Football Addiction.
- 3:48Speaker 2: But first, some love to Price Picks.
- 3:50Speaker 1: All new users there get $ 150 instantly when they win
- 3:53Speaker 1: their first $ 5 lineup using code HMA.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Appreciate price picks for their support. Give me the more
- 3:59Speaker 2: on Derek Henry's.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Anytime touchdowns at 0.5. Give me the less on Deshaun
- 4:04Speaker 1: Watson and give me the more on Kirk cousins. As
- 4:07Speaker 1: far as a passing total of two 32.5, Cole and
- 4:10Speaker 1: I picked all of the picks that you see on
- 4:12Speaker 1: the screen. And we threw in a James Winston pick
- 4:14Speaker 1: as well. So if you want to see that, you
- 4:15Speaker 1: can go over to the live show on college football
- 4:17Speaker 1: addiction that we just finished up this morning. And you
- 4:20Speaker 1: can check that out. Appreciate price picks for their support.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, You can't afford to take a sack
- 4:26Speaker 3: on third down. He took a sack on third down
- 4:28Speaker 3: that pushed him out of field goal range and the
- 4:30Speaker 3: defense had to go back on the field to be
- 4:32Speaker 3: able to then get a stop to get the ball
- 4:34Speaker 3: back to the offense to set up one more field
- 4:36Speaker 3: goal from Connor Talty. Because think about it, if you
- 4:38Speaker 3: throw the ball out of bounds at that point and
- 4:40Speaker 3: it's not intentional grounding because it wouldn't have been, Connor
- 4:43Speaker 3: Talty may miss the kick. But at least you know
- 4:46Speaker 3: the guy who has been so consistent this year has
- 4:48Speaker 3: an opportunity to win it for you. Because remember, Peyton
- 4:51Speaker 3: Woodring was clutch all game. And he's been clutch all season.
- 4:55Speaker 3: And he missed a kick from inside the 40. So,
- 4:57Speaker 3: I mean, it's not here saying that Alabama couldn't have
- 5:03Speaker 3: messed it up for themselves in that instance. But that's
- 5:06Speaker 3: a young quarterback making a young quarterback mistake. As much
- 5:09Speaker 3: as you want to blame officiating, it was just a
- 5:11Speaker 3: moment of where you saw just the inexperience of a
- 5:15Speaker 3: young quarterback being in that moment, not understanding his surroundings.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Gunner Stockton understood it, and that's why they won. I
- 5:22Speaker 3: will give a huge testament, though, to Kalen DeBoer, because
- 5:25Speaker 3: Kalen DeBoer, with a drop as you know what, I
- 5:29Speaker 3: have arrived in the SEC right before halftime with the
- 5:32Speaker 3: EJ Crowell touchdown. Phenomenal play. Phenomenal moment. Because there are
- 5:37Speaker 3: people out here Not us, because we actually know college football.
- 5:40Speaker 3: But there are people out here that say, Kaitlin DeBoer
- 5:41Speaker 3: is not the guy to replace Nick Saban. Kaitlin DeBoer
- 5:44Speaker 3: is not the guy who should be in Alabama. College
- 5:46Speaker 3: game day, you hear Nick Saban himself say and claim
- 5:50Speaker 3: this is his Alabama team. And there's still people who say,
- 5:53Speaker 3: you're not tough enough and you don't have the stones
- 5:56Speaker 3: to be able to be in Tuscaloosa. I had the
- 5:58Speaker 3: stones to deliver against Kirby Smart when you needed points
- 6:01Speaker 3: to go take the lead.
- 6:02Speaker 2: That's impressive.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And the better part is, watching him be able to
- 6:06Speaker 3: finally lose his mind on bad plays, on bad moments.
- 6:11Speaker 3: How many times have I heard Alabama fans say he's
- 6:13Speaker 3: too soft? That's what Nick used to do when things
- 6:16Speaker 3: would go his way. When things were going right and
- 6:19Speaker 3: they were up by 20 and it was a bad
- 6:21Speaker 3: pass interference call, he'd throw his headset. He'd get into
- 6:24Speaker 3: a player's face. He'd lose it on his assistant coaches.
- 6:27Speaker 3: So you can't have it both ways. You can't say
- 6:29Speaker 3: that the guy is not mentally tough enough to be
- 6:30Speaker 3: in the SEC when he shows up like that. And
- 6:34Speaker 3: Dijon Ling, brother, I say this with the utmost respect.
- 6:38Speaker 3: it's a good thing you deleted social media last night.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Because of whether or not you were the reason why
- 6:43Speaker 3: they lost the game, that was a big-time blunder from
- 6:46Speaker 3: a veteran player who should know better in that moment.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Because you want to talk about a penalty that wasn't called?
- 6:53Speaker 3: That was a penalty that was always going to get called.
- 6:55Speaker 3: And like it or not, you did cost them the
- 6:57Speaker 3: game in that instance. Because they get the first down,
- 7:00Speaker 3: and they don't have to worry about anything else. They
- 7:01Speaker 3: can just take a knee. And I give credit also
- 7:03Speaker 3: to Kaha Clinton-Diggs. You see him on the sidelines? When
- 7:06Speaker 3: Dijon Lee's starting to walk away and he grabs and goes, nope, nope.
- 7:10Speaker 3: You're going to sit here and you're going to hear it.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Because that's what I had to do. It's a learning
- 7:14Speaker 3: lesson that will make you better at the end of
- 7:16Speaker 3: the day. Again, Alabama for me is still a top
- 7:18Speaker 3: three team in the country. What I saw last night
- 7:20Speaker 3: was the number one and the number two team in
- 7:22Speaker 3: college football.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Go toe-to-toe.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Play a different brand of the sport than anyone else.
- 7:27Speaker 3: They still can be that team. They just unfortunately will
- 7:30Speaker 3: have a lost. They will have one in the lost column.
- 7:33Speaker 3: That's what they'll have.
- 7:35Speaker 1: It very much seems like they're going to get a
- 7:37Speaker 1: rematch when we get to the first weekend of December
- 7:40Speaker 1: against Georgia. They obviously have work to do. You've got
- 7:46Speaker 1: to go to Neyland next week. You've got A & M, LSU,
- 7:49Speaker 1: Vandy should be very winnable, UTC, University of Tennessee, Chattanooga,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and then Auburn.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Their road is pretty paved as well.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I think you look at that next three, Tennessee, A
- 8:03Speaker 1: & M, LSU, you should certainly win those.
- 8:06Speaker 2: You could probably afford to drop one and still be fine.
- 8:09Speaker 2: But Bama's in good shape.
- 8:11Speaker 1: You just probably hurt yourself from a seating perspective in
- 8:14Speaker 1: the playoff. And they still look like a team that
- 8:17Speaker 1: can go. I haven't changed my mind on the teams
- 8:20Speaker 1: that can go win this thing. I think Bama is
- 8:24Speaker 1: still very comfortably in that. I think their resume also
- 8:28Speaker 1: is as impressive as any of the other undefeated teams
- 8:32Speaker 1: that we.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Have in the country.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Now I know they have the loss and I know
- 8:34Speaker 1: that we are accustomed to ranking teams by losses.
- 8:38Speaker 2: And so I don't know, shout out better day.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And I see Raymond in the comments getting the biggest
- 8:43Speaker 1: one they've had against Stanford.
- 8:44Speaker 2: And is it forever?
- 8:45Speaker 1: Um, they came out and put BTA for sure. Miami
- 8:49Speaker 1: was off, you know, Indiana we'll get to in a
- 8:51Speaker 1: few minutes, but yeah, the teams that I think could
- 8:54Speaker 1: win it all are still there. And I don't know
- 8:56Speaker 1: that I had Bama comfortably in that top seven before
- 9:00Speaker 1: the season started.
- 9:01Speaker 2: They're there.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Like they just, they've got to get a little bit better.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I had a little bit more faith in a Kirby
- 9:06Speaker 1: smart coach team. I have more faith in Bama than
- 9:09Speaker 1: I did before the game. So I'm not surprised that
- 9:12Speaker 1: Georgia ended up winning. I picked Georgia to win close
- 9:15Speaker 1: in Tuscaloosa. They won close there. the margins are.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Where Bama needs to sharpen some things. And again, I'm
- 9:23Speaker 2: not blaming the officials. I'm fine.
- 9:25Speaker 1: If Bama fans want to blame the officials, because as
- 9:27Speaker 1: a fan, if I was a fan of your team,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I would probably be doing the same thing.
- 9:31Speaker 2: They, but they did suck. They absolutely sucked. So I
- 9:34Speaker 2: get it.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And it's annoying, but let me ask you before we
- 9:37Speaker 3: move on. Best one loss team in the country. Is
- 9:39Speaker 3: it Alabama or is it Ohio state or Texas?
- 9:45Speaker 1: I think Alabama with the wins against Kentucky and, Florida
- 9:49Speaker 1: state that played really well and Mississippi state.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I would lean there. It's not Texas. Sorry. I think
- 9:54Speaker 2: Texas was fake.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Number one, they were winning games. That's all you can
- 9:58Speaker 1: ask them to do. They were clunky, and we saw
- 10:00Speaker 1: that on Saturday. Yeah, it's Ohio State or Bama for me.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And I think it's Bama.
- 10:11Speaker 2: But it is close.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I will say it's not like, oh, man, Ohio State
- 10:16Speaker 1: shouldn't be on the same field with them.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I think Bama's got better wins. Uh, yeah, they, yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 2: I would say Kentucky.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Yeah. Like, okay. If you told me right now, again,
- 10:27Speaker 3: I understand blaming the officials all you want and saying that,
- 10:29Speaker 3: you know, that was a major deal. Like I got,
- 10:31Speaker 3: I got in a screaming match last night with my brother.
- 10:33Speaker 3: He called me an asshole. I mean, in a terrible
- 10:35Speaker 3: individual for not being more upset about the officiating guys. Um,
- 10:39Speaker 3: When you give up 206 rushing yards to two backup
- 10:41Speaker 3: running backs, there are some things you got to clean
- 10:43Speaker 3: on up. When you allow Georgia to win consistently through
- 10:47Speaker 3: the air on third down, kind of like you did
- 10:50Speaker 3: last season in Athens, you got some things you got
- 10:52Speaker 3: to clean on up. When you give up a critical
- 10:54Speaker 3: sack on third down, you got some things you got
- 10:57Speaker 3: to clean on up. I'm not here saying that at
- 11:00Speaker 3: any point I'm doubting Alabama. Alabama, in my opinion, is
- 11:02Speaker 3: still a top three to five team in the country
- 11:05Speaker 3: after a loss at home. But you weren't the more
- 11:08Speaker 3: complete team last night. And it showed. I mean, again,
- 11:11Speaker 3: you gave up 455 yards and they outgamed you 21
- 11:15Speaker 3: first downs to 17. The numbers don't lie. You are
- 11:18Speaker 3: a damn good team. Georgia's just a better one. And
- 11:22Speaker 3: a lot of us thought that going into this game.
- 11:23Speaker 3: So nothing has changed. You lost by three at home
- 11:26Speaker 3: to a better team. That's not the worst thing possible.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Alabama still has a shot to go 11-1 the rest
- 11:31Speaker 3: of the year with how their schedule.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Pans on out. Appreciate Raymond for the love. Yeah, three
- 11:35Speaker 2: quick numbers for you.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Keelan went 53%. You gave up four sacks and I'll
- 11:45Speaker 1: give you a good number. You ran the ball better
- 11:46Speaker 1: than you did at any point during last year too.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So there's good with bad, but when you look at
- 11:51Speaker 1: the efficiency of the quarterback that went George's way, when
- 11:55Speaker 1: you look at the run game, that went George's way.
- 11:57Speaker 1: When you look at defensive pressure upfront, that went George's way.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And again, I think you did run the ball well,
- 12:03Speaker 1: but you look at the three key things, how efficient
- 12:06Speaker 1: your quarterback is, how well you run the ball, and
- 12:08Speaker 1: the pressure that your defensive line gets. You lost in
- 12:10Speaker 1: all three areas. Did the refs probably screw you at
- 12:13Speaker 1: the end of the game?
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Were there bad calls both ways? Yes. But you probably
- 12:17Speaker 2: didn't do enough to take care of business there, and
- 12:20Speaker 2: that's why you didn't win.
