- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jagsam kind. Annie Steven's here with Brian Sexton
- 0:18Speaker 1: and John Oser. We're getting prepared for week twelves. The
- 0:21Speaker 1: Jaguars are gonna head out west later this week to
- 0:23Speaker 1: take on the Cardinals in Arizona. But let's go over
- 0:26Speaker 1: our big things today, brought to you by GEHJA Government
- 0:28Speaker 1: Employees Health Association benefits for federal employees and retirees.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Big thing number one is slowly but surely.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We thought we were getting some of those injured guys
- 0:37Speaker 1: back last week, but it looks like it may be
- 0:39Speaker 1: a little slower process than we originally thought. Brent Strange
- 0:42Speaker 1: one of those guys working his way back, Brian, and
- 0:45Speaker 1: we're kind of waiting and is nice to see a
- 0:47Speaker 1: dominant win without some of your star players.
- 0:49Speaker 2: They work their way.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Back, you guys.
- 0:51Speaker 4: It's kind of like when the stock market falls and
- 0:52Speaker 4: you start buying at a low rate. Eventually it goes
- 0:55Speaker 4: back up and all of a sudden you've got more
- 0:57Speaker 4: shares at.
- 0:57Speaker 3: A higher rate.
- 0:59Speaker 4: It's kind of way because you're gonna get bretton Strange
- 1:01Speaker 4: back at some point, hopefully this week. You're gonna get
- 1:04Speaker 4: Greg Newsom back. You're gonna get Jordan Lewis back and
- 1:08Speaker 4: Anton Harrison back, So you know, grabbing wins when your
- 1:12Speaker 4: team is far less than full strength and then becoming
- 1:15Speaker 4: full strength. Hopefully there's a correlation there. Hopefully it translates
- 1:19Speaker 4: into you being rich.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Yeah, and they've almost accomplished it, you know. And I
- 1:26Speaker 5: get that in the ups and downs of the season.
- 1:28Speaker 5: There's panic after a loss and you know, oh, they're terrible,
- 1:32Speaker 5: but this is what you have to do. You have
- 1:35Speaker 5: to get through your injured stretch, maintaining and staying in it.
- 1:40Speaker 5: I feel like the biggest injury is still sitting out
- 1:42Speaker 5: there is strange. Jordan Lewis and Murray are up there.
- 1:46Speaker 5: They get him back this week, get the running game going,
- 1:49Speaker 5: grind out another one against Arizona. Then you feel like
- 1:52Speaker 5: you've gotten through it and you can start doing what
- 1:55Speaker 5: Brian talked about, which is getting rich in the stock market.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Like getting rich, that always sounds good. Big numbers two
- 2:00Speaker 1: is seeing what work. Obviously, with a bunch of those injuries,
- 2:04Speaker 1: the offenses looks both sides of football, but the offense
- 2:06Speaker 1: has looked a lot different than we expected it to
- 2:08Speaker 1: look beginning at to start the year. So Trevor Lawrence
- 2:11Speaker 1: has had kind of had to adapt different weapons of
- 2:13Speaker 1: course available for him. John, but seeing just Jacoby Myers
- 2:17Speaker 1: has only been here about two weeks. The chemistry that
- 2:19Speaker 1: is there, and we saw a great game out of
- 2:20Speaker 1: Parker Washington last week. So how have you seen the
- 2:23Speaker 1: offensivevolve a little bit and kind of seeing what works
- 2:25Speaker 1: for them right now?
- 2:26Speaker 5: Well, it's impressive and it's exactly what they've been doing.
- 2:29Speaker 5: If you think back even to when they got here,
- 2:31Speaker 5: they didn't know Travis etn was gonna be this kind
- 2:34Speaker 5: of a back.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Uh.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Then you draft two and then okay, now we've got this.
- 2:39Speaker 5: The injuries happened and uh BTJ and Diami Brown and
- 2:42Speaker 5: Travis Hunter who were supposed to be your guys, uh
- 2:45Speaker 5: aren't really factors in the offense right now.
- 2:47Speaker 6: But I in the last three weeks.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Twenty nine points, thirty five points the other day, uh
- 2:55Speaker 5: twenty nine or thirty against the the Raiders.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Raiders, all of.
- 3:01Speaker 5: A sudden, this offense is doing what you thought it
- 3:05Speaker 5: was gonna do, and it's been there's the best three
- 3:07Speaker 5: weeks of offense this season.
- 3:09Speaker 6: So when you put together a new regime.
- 3:13Speaker 5: You have to figure it out as you go and
- 3:15Speaker 5: you can tell they're finding the pieces, Brian that are
- 3:18Speaker 5: starting to work, and you're starting to wonder, in the
- 3:21Speaker 5: last five weeks, can they have some jet fuel in
- 3:24Speaker 5: this and really get go.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Listen at some point in the season and John, we've
- 3:28Speaker 4: done this long enough, You've seen it many many times.
- 3:30Speaker 4: You do what you can do, not necessarily what you'd
- 3:33Speaker 4: like to do, what the big plan was to do.
- 3:35Speaker 4: You do what you can do. Last week they had
- 3:37Speaker 4: Quinton Morris on the field, a guy who was called
- 3:40Speaker 4: up from the practice squad, who got here during training camp.
- 3:43Speaker 3: And if you go and.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Watch this view, this end zone view here of Travis
- 3:48Speaker 4: Etn's first touchdown. Watch the crushing block he puts on
- 3:51Speaker 4: Bud Dupree, who knew he could do that, and he
- 3:54Speaker 4: did it several times. In fact, I think in four
- 3:57Speaker 4: instances he had blocks that read up ten yard runs
- 4:01Speaker 4: or more.
- 4:02Speaker 3: He was tremendous.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Listen, you do what you can do, Jacoby Myers. They
- 4:08Speaker 4: found out what routes he likes. Eventually they will be
- 4:12Speaker 4: able to do what they want to do. But until
- 4:14Speaker 4: you get your guys back, do what you can do,
- 4:16Speaker 4: and ki guys like Quinton Morris and Jacoby Myers, how
- 4:20Speaker 4: about Austin Trammell would.
- 4:21Speaker 3: A big catch the other day?
- 4:22Speaker 4: Do what you can do, and this coaching staff deserves
- 4:26Speaker 4: real credit for figuring out out a way to do
- 4:29Speaker 4: what they could do against a very good Chargers team.
- 4:32Speaker 5: And to that point, I think about this, in the
- 4:34Speaker 5: last three games, they'd had stretches where they scored on
- 4:36Speaker 5: six straight drives and four out of five drives the
- 4:39Speaker 5: other day.
- 4:40Speaker 6: It's starting to look like they wanted to.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Look no punting, so that's always a good sign as well.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So our final big thing today is going to be
- 4:48Speaker 1: leading the way. We've talked a lot about leadership. The
- 4:50Speaker 1: defense did not play well against the Texans, but they
- 4:52Speaker 1: came back with an outstanding performance against the Chargers. And
- 4:55Speaker 1: credit to Josh heinz Allen, who you know, the past,
- 4:58Speaker 1: Verus has taken a lot of slack and right so
- 5:00Speaker 1: because they haven't been living up to Sanderds.
- 5:02Speaker 2: They got after Justin Herbert this.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Week, and of course Josh Heinzellen now has that sack
- 5:06Speaker 1: record for the franchise. What's most important about this, I
- 5:10Speaker 1: think Brian you would agree, is this leadership factor and
- 5:13Speaker 1: kind of using this moving forward Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 4: You know, leadership can be something that people put too
- 5:17Speaker 4: much weight on. Eventually, you have to be a great player,
- 5:20Speaker 4: right If you're a great player, you are by default
- 5:23Speaker 4: a leader in the locker room. Josh happens to have
- 5:25Speaker 4: qualities of both the great player and a guy who's
- 5:28Speaker 4: got the natural inclination to lead. Here's what I like
- 5:31Speaker 4: the effort he put in last week, the will not
- 5:33Speaker 4: quit falling to the ground, gonna get the sack that
- 5:37Speaker 4: is contagious. And he talks all the time John about
- 5:40Speaker 4: the guys who are on the field with him right now,
- 5:42Speaker 4: the guys that Christian Braswell will go back and look
- 5:45Speaker 4: at the Iron Jaguar series that they did with the
- 5:48Speaker 4: coaching staff and the personal or the performance staff back
- 5:51Speaker 4: in the spring.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Josh will point out that a lot of the guys
- 5:54Speaker 3: who are contributing right now were.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Guys that exceled back then, and Josh believes in them.
- 6:00Speaker 4: This team believes in him, He believes in those guys.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I just think that there's a fuel on that defensive
- 6:05Speaker 4: side to go out and do it again this week
- 6:07Speaker 4: because of Josh heinz Allen.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Yeah, sometimes in a long season need to reset. It
- 6:14Speaker 5: felt like the defensive front, especially after the Houston Texans game,
- 6:18Speaker 5: really said you know what, whatever was going on before,
- 6:22Speaker 5: let's get started now. And it was an impressive effort
- 6:25Speaker 5: against the Chargers. They need that sort maybe not to
- 6:29Speaker 5: that level, but they need disruption from that group going forward.
- 6:33Speaker 5: This is a big week because the whole theme to
- 6:36Speaker 5: me this week is, look, it was great to do
- 6:38Speaker 5: it once, you gotta do it again, and especially the
- 6:41Speaker 5: defensive front has to do it again.
- 6:42Speaker 6: You gotta build on what happened on Sunday.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Stay with's here on jag Zam.
- 6:45Speaker 1: We're gonna do a little this or that as we
- 6:47Speaker 1: look ahead to this week's patch up against the Cardinals.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Exam brought to you by the Fields Auto Groups Field's
- 7:00Speaker 1: First Jackson, those premier luxury Auto group head over two
- 7:03Speaker 1: Fields Auto dot Com.
- 7:05Speaker 3: This O.
- 7:08Speaker 2: This welcome back to jagsza I. We're gonna play a
- 7:12Speaker 2: little this or that.
- 7:13Speaker 1: We're looking ahead but kind of also just assessing where
- 7:15Speaker 1: the team is at right now.
- 7:16Speaker 2: It's week twelve. They're very much in the playoff picture
- 7:18Speaker 2: at this point.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Got a big AFC win over the Chargers that could
- 7:22Speaker 1: kind of be used maybe potentially with tigh breakers.
- 7:24Speaker 2: They have one over the Chiefs as well.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So when we kind of look ahead, let's Brian, we
- 7:29Speaker 1: were talking about this this morning.
- 7:32Speaker 2: This game against the Chargers.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Maybe is a game that they don't win in the
- 7:36Speaker 1: previous years, right, especially like the importance that we're playing.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Dragon Wars never won those games?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Right?
- 7:41Speaker 1: So are we officially the new Jags at this point?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Are we still saying old Jags?
- 7:45Speaker 3: You know what I say?
- 7:45Speaker 1: And will this Cardinals game proved one or both one
- 7:48Speaker 1: or either of the other?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Correct?
- 7:49Speaker 4: And I'm sure you both have had this conversation, But
- 7:51Speaker 4: it's those Jags and these Jags, right, have it in
- 7:54Speaker 4: the aisle at Public's, you know, walking on the beach,
- 7:57Speaker 4: wherever you're at.
- 7:57Speaker 3: People want to know if this team is these.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Jags, the team that played on Sunday or those Jags
- 8:04Speaker 4: previous Jaguars teams that A wouldn't show up for a
- 8:08Speaker 4: game like this and then B wouldn't follow up John
- 8:11Speaker 4: with a game like this. And the best example I
- 8:13Speaker 4: can give you is the end of twenty twenty three, right,
- 8:16Speaker 4: I mean, you have a game you should win, you
- 8:17Speaker 4: have the playoffs on the line, and you go to Tennessee.
- 8:20Speaker 4: They are a one trick pony. It was Mike Grabel's
- 8:22Speaker 4: final game and all they do was run the ball.
- 8:25Speaker 4: And all you knew you had to stop was Derrick
- 8:27Speaker 4: Henry and those Jags didn't do it.
- 8:31Speaker 3: They didn't do it. So is it these Jags? Do?
- 8:36Speaker 4: We believe that this team is Liam Cohen's team and
- 8:39Speaker 4: they play his way and they're going to avoid the
- 8:41Speaker 4: mistakes of those Jags, these versus those john What do
- 8:45Speaker 4: you see?
- 8:46Speaker 5: I don't think there's any questions these Jags. I thought
- 8:50Speaker 5: that all year, and I would have thought that even
- 8:51Speaker 5: for the San Diego I mean the Yes Sargers.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Can still say San Diego too, just because of this.
- 8:57Speaker 5: They're still beat up right now and it's still the NFL,
- 9:01Speaker 5: so you don't know what's gonna happen on Sunday. But
- 9:02Speaker 5: their response, this team has fought and punched all year.
- 9:06Speaker 5: They're six and four. It's an up and down week
- 9:08Speaker 5: and week league. But you're six and four and you've
- 9:10Speaker 5: beaten the Chiefs, You've beaten the forty nine ers, you
- 9:12Speaker 5: beat the Panthers, you've beaten the Texans, and you've eat
- 9:15Speaker 5: in the charters.
- 9:15Speaker 6: All of those teams are.
- 9:16Speaker 3: About five hundred.
- 9:17Speaker 5: They have a strong strength of whatever. All those things,
- 9:21Speaker 5: they're good. I think they'll play well on Sunday. If
- 9:26Speaker 5: they don't get it, I think it's because they're still
- 9:29Speaker 5: coming back.
- 9:30Speaker 6: There's still some flaws.
- 9:31Speaker 5: The secondary is still hurt, there's still some things that
- 9:33Speaker 5: they have not been able to get right since they.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Started all this.
- 9:36Speaker 6: But to me, they're a new franchise.
- 9:40Speaker 3: They're good.
- 9:41Speaker 5: No matter what happens Sunday, I think they'll win. I
- 9:43Speaker 5: think they're gonna go on a little run. I think
- 9:44Speaker 5: they're gonna get in and they're gonna start proving it.
- 9:47Speaker 5: But no matter what happens, this is a different feeling
- 9:51Speaker 5: than last year.
- 9:52Speaker 3: I agree. I believe in these Jaguars. I still need
- 9:55Speaker 3: to see them put.
- 9:57Speaker 4: The ghost of those Jaguars to the past and go
- 9:59Speaker 4: beat Chacob right. I know he set an NFL record
- 10:02Speaker 4: with forty seven completions. The Jaguars have seen him four times,
- 10:05Speaker 4: they're one in three against him. He has two touchdowns
- 10:09Speaker 4: and three interception.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Is a career.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Go beat Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals, and then I
- 10:14Speaker 4: think we can officially put those Jaguars too bad.
- 10:16Speaker 5: I think the good news on this front is we
- 10:20Speaker 5: talked about during big things. They're finding what they are.
- 10:27Speaker 5: They knew what they were after Carolina in the first week,
- 10:29Speaker 5: and then you get beat up and Travis Hunter's out
- 10:32Speaker 5: and BTJ as his issues and you're still trying to
- 10:34Speaker 5: figure it out. Last week, I think sort of reset
- 10:37Speaker 5: on both sides. We've got to be a defensive line
- 10:40Speaker 5: and offensive line oriented team, and it feels like they
- 10:44Speaker 5: refound themselves and maybe it's a refresh if you will.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I don't know what the outcome will
- 10:50Speaker 1: be this week, and I know the energy and I
- 10:52Speaker 1: know what we're going to see put out onto the field.
- 10:54Speaker 1: After what we saw against the Chargers, I feel like
- 10:56Speaker 1: that was kind of a canon moment for me to
- 10:58Speaker 1: see what the response was going to be. I have
- 10:59Speaker 1: no doubt they'll be prepared, but as mentioned, they do
- 11:02Speaker 1: have a lot of injuries, so I'm not entirely sure
- 11:03Speaker 1: what it looked like, but I think they'll be ready.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Just one quick follow up on that is last week
- 11:07Speaker 4: I said it was it was on Liam Cohen. This
- 11:09Speaker 4: was his week to make this his team. This week,
- 11:12Speaker 4: I think it's on the players, right. I think the
- 11:15Speaker 4: energy that you speak of is on them and they've
- 11:17Speaker 4: got to bring it to push through and there's enough
- 11:19Speaker 4: guys who've been here for those Jags to understand how
- 11:22Speaker 4: to make the transition.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 11:24Speaker 1: One other thing that we saw, we saw a great
- 11:26Speaker 1: ground game from them. Both Facial Tutent and Travis Etn
- 11:30Speaker 1: had great days on the ground. And what was cool
- 11:32Speaker 1: about it was the offensive line was banged up, but
- 11:34Speaker 1: they didn't get Brent's strange back like they thought, you're
- 11:37Speaker 1: starting right tackle. Anton Harrison wasn't able to play. It
- 11:39Speaker 1: was Cole Van Lannon and he's been playing very well,
- 11:42Speaker 1: kind of plug and play a couple different spots in
- 11:44Speaker 1: the line when asked to be out there, John, when
- 11:47Speaker 1: you look at the offensive line and what we've seen
- 11:49Speaker 1: from Cole Van land and do you think when everyone's
- 11:52Speaker 1: back that will see it completely back to the starting
- 11:54Speaker 1: fire or do you think they're going to have to
- 11:55Speaker 1: try to work him in somewhere.
- 11:56Speaker 5: It's it's it's a legitimate question. Do you move somebody
- 12:02Speaker 5: over to left tackle Walker Little has struggled? Do you say, Okay,
- 12:06Speaker 5: we're gonna go back to our starting five because that's
- 12:08Speaker 5: what we have the most chemistry with. I think the
- 12:11Speaker 5: good news is Van Lannon's ready. If you see weakness anywhere, he's.
- 12:16Speaker 6: Clearly ready to go in quickly.
- 12:19Speaker 5: I think on the offensive line, this offensive line, even
- 12:24Speaker 5: in the weeks where people thought they played bad, did
- 12:27Speaker 5: not really play horribly. There's been situations against the Rams,
- 12:31Speaker 5: they struggle the couple, but it's a good offensive line
- 12:35Speaker 5: that you feel like in these last seven games unless
- 12:39Speaker 5: they're playing one of the dominant defensive lines. I'm talking Seattle,
- 12:44Speaker 5: Houston's domin They're gonna see Denver, They're gonna see Denver.
- 12:47Speaker 5: But for the most part, this group has been able
- 12:50Speaker 5: to play winning offensive line, which I think bodes well
- 12:53Speaker 5: over the last seven games. If they stay out of
- 12:57Speaker 5: bad down in distance, this team can score points and
- 13:02Speaker 5: be in their last seven games.
- 13:04Speaker 4: If the identity is the running game, and I think
- 13:06Speaker 4: we believe that it is well that I think you
- 13:08Speaker 4: stay put Walker Little this week played really well. He
- 13:11Speaker 4: is a very good run blocking tackle. If they find
- 13:15Speaker 4: themselves in a position where they're having to throw a
- 13:17Speaker 4: whole lot and we see struggles like we saw from
- 13:20Speaker 4: Walker in Houston. He didn't play very well against Seattle
- 13:23Speaker 4: or the Rams, colvi ain Land and showed you he
- 13:26Speaker 4: can do it. I think he's a better pass protecting
- 13:28Speaker 4: tackle than Walker Little is. But if the identity is
- 13:31Speaker 4: run the ball, Walker Little is pretty darn good at that.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely a group where I've got my eye out.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Just been very impressed with cold a Land and so
- 13:39Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised either way that they go with
- 13:41Speaker 1: that when they are back to full strength.
- 13:43Speaker 2: So stay with us here on Jagszam.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Coming up at for the break, we'll talk a little
- 13:45Speaker 1: bit about what's going on around the NFL. For twelve years,
- 13:56Speaker 1: Dring Finder Solms have been proud to call themselves the
- 13:57Speaker 1: official hand builder of the Jacksonville Daguars with a bindershomes
- 14:00Speaker 1: dot com for all of the available.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Inventory and Go Jets. Welcome back into gags Am.
- 14:06Speaker 1: We're gonna talk a little bit about the division to
- 14:08Speaker 1: keep chabs on everybody. The Titans and Texans faced off
- 14:10Speaker 1: last week. Texans able to get a last second win
- 14:14Speaker 1: over the Titans, and they did it with quarterback Davis Mills,
- 14:16Speaker 1: and it looks like we might see him again this week, Brian,
- 14:18Speaker 1: because it's a short week and they're facing off on Thursday.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Night against the Bills. Right, and the word is CJ.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Stroud is practicing in Houston as much as they practice
- 14:27Speaker 4: during the week that you play on Thursday.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Night, but he's not expected to play.
- 14:31Speaker 4: So that means that the Jaguars fans out there who
- 14:34Speaker 4: are watching feel pretty good about the Bills and what
- 14:38Speaker 4: they did last week and the way their quarterback's playing
- 14:41Speaker 4: against Davis Mills.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Yeah, you're at the point of the season where I
- 14:45Speaker 5: get it's fun to talk about all this Bills Texans. Yeah,
- 14:49Speaker 5: you'd like the Bills to win it to knock the
- 14:52Speaker 5: Texans back, But the Bills are also looking like a
- 14:55Speaker 5: wildcard team. Yes, so I don't know that either of
- 14:58Speaker 5: those teams losing is bad for the Jags. So I
- 15:04Speaker 5: think the Bills win that because I think on Thursday
- 15:06Speaker 5: night a lot of times, game planning gets out of
- 15:08Speaker 5: the window, and the best player in the league is Josh.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Heines is Josh Allen, so usually when it's a schoolyard fight,
- 15:16Speaker 5: he wins the schoolyard fight.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Here's the story.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Though we have been talking about meaningful games around Thanksgiving
- 15:21Speaker 4: to the end of the year around here for a
- 15:23Speaker 4: long time, we haven't been able to talk about him this.
- 15:25Speaker 3: If they win, if they lose kind of thing.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Is exactly what you want in your fan base as
- 15:30Speaker 4: you get towards Christmas. It creates interest in every game
- 15:33Speaker 4: every week.
- 15:34Speaker 1: You always like to have a stake in each of
- 15:36Speaker 1: the games, so that's always exciting. And now the Colts
- 15:38Speaker 1: had a bye week last week. Obviously they're off to
- 15:40Speaker 1: an amazing start, but they're going to face off against
- 15:42Speaker 1: the Chiefs this week and their remaining strength of schedule
- 15:45Speaker 1: is the most difficult Number one in the NFL. So
- 15:48Speaker 1: they're getting into a tough stretch at a time when
- 15:50Speaker 1: the Jaguars are hopefully getting into a little bit easier stretch.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So what are we going to see from the Colts
- 15:55Speaker 1: now they've got some tougher opponents.
- 15:57Speaker 3: The Kansas City's my hometown.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I talk to a lot of people out there, and
- 16:00Speaker 4: the Kansas City Chiefs fans have become accustomed to playing
- 16:04Speaker 4: in the AFC Championship Game.
- 16:06Speaker 3: The thought that.
- 16:07Speaker 4: They wouldn't be Division champs, as they have been nine
- 16:10Speaker 4: consecutive years in a row is absolutely unacceptable to them.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Funny because when I grew up there, the Chiefs were terrible.
- 16:17Speaker 4: The reality of it is is that you have a
- 16:19Speaker 4: very desperate team that if they lose another AFC game,
- 16:23Speaker 4: fall further behind, their chances of just making the playoffs become.
- 16:27Speaker 3: So much smaller.
- 16:29Speaker 4: I expect a desperate, dangerous Kansas City team that John
- 16:33Speaker 4: hasn't been desperate or dangerous in Patrick Mahomes' time. With
- 16:38Speaker 4: Andy Reid pulling the trigger, I expect this to be
- 16:40Speaker 4: heack of the ball game.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Yeah, and it can sort of go like both ways
- 16:45Speaker 5: in the Chiefs right now. Sometimes these teams that have
- 16:48Speaker 5: been great for a long time have these seasons where
- 16:50Speaker 5: you keep expecting the old team to show up and
- 16:54Speaker 5: then you get to the end of the season.
- 16:55Speaker 6: Realize that the old team wasn't there.
- 16:57Speaker 5: So I don't necessarily think as long as you have
- 17:01Speaker 5: Patrick Mahomes at quarterback that's the case. I think they
- 17:04Speaker 5: will win this game.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Uh.
- 17:05Speaker 5: This week, it's harder to beat the Chiefs. This team
- 17:10Speaker 5: did it, So this is that theory doesn't hold that
- 17:12Speaker 5: much water. But a division team like the Broncos knows
- 17:15Speaker 5: how to play the Chiefs.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Uh.
- 17:17Speaker 5: If you don't know how to play them, you know
- 17:19Speaker 5: how to uh how to play Mahomes.
- 17:21Speaker 6: It can be different.
- 17:22Speaker 5: So I think the Chiefs have some more punches left
- 17:24Speaker 5: in them. Do they have enough punches to get to
- 17:26Speaker 5: the end of the season. Uh, their record makes t
- 17:29Speaker 5: could make that tough.
- 17:30Speaker 4: You know, you covered the Patriots and you grew up
- 17:32Speaker 4: in New England, so you can appreciate this. I can
- 17:34Speaker 4: remember we went up there in twenty seventeen to practice
- 17:37Speaker 4: before preseason game and to see all these kids who
- 17:39Speaker 4: were you know, between what eight and twenty that never
- 17:42Speaker 4: knew anything but winning, And I can remember thinking, boy,
- 17:46Speaker 4: are these kids in for a shock when when twelve
- 17:49Speaker 4: decides to hang it up and it's the exact same
- 17:51Speaker 4: thing in Kansas City, where they've won three of the last.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Six Super Bowls. It it's difficult for you to accept reality.
- 17:56Speaker 2: It's expectations for sure.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And we will see what that actually looks like, whether
- 18:01Speaker 1: the Chiefs can pull another rabbit out of the hat
- 18:02Speaker 1: and kind of turned clock back a little bit.
- 18:04Speaker 4: By the way, because of your history with the Patriots,
- 18:06Speaker 4: what did you think of those uniforms they wore last week?
- 18:08Speaker 2: I didn't hate them.
- 18:09Speaker 1: They weren't my favorite, but I don't like them in general,
- 18:11Speaker 1: because I think every division is going to get some
- 18:14Speaker 1: muted version of that. Because what the Bills had the
- 18:17Speaker 1: ice breaker ones.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I forget what they call it.
- 18:20Speaker 2: It's it just looked a little, I don't know, it's
- 18:23Speaker 2: a little.
- 18:24Speaker 1: The State Trooper blue is very similar, So it was
- 18:26Speaker 1: it was just an interesting color combination. But I'm sure
- 18:29Speaker 1: we'll have our version next year and then I'll have
- 18:31Speaker 1: to vote in on that. But I'm all about the throwbacks,
- 18:34Speaker 1: So I'm just I'm gonna say as many as as
- 18:36Speaker 1: many Jaguars throwbacks, I'm very, very strong. The bright red
- 18:41Speaker 1: pat the Patriots are my other favorite.
- 18:43Speaker 5: Yeah, those are the ones that they already used. But
- 18:45Speaker 5: I'm an old man.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Get off my lawn, stay.
- 18:49Speaker 2: With us here.

- 19:25Speaker 1: because we've been away.
- 19:26Speaker 2: We'll be away again.
- 19:27Speaker 1: For two weeks and then back to face off against
- 19:30Speaker 1: the Colts and the Jets, and then.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Tightens at the end of the year.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Tightens at the end of the year. So it's getting
- 19:36Speaker 1: down to that time, which is crazy to think about.
- 19:38Speaker 5: Yeah, it's schedule shapes up to where you can start
- 19:43Speaker 5: having some exciting stuff at home if you take care
- 19:44Speaker 5: of business.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah, who are you talking to this week or what are.
- 19:48Speaker 2: You looking forward to?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Talking offensive line? Sean Sareht, the offensive line coach. We'll
- 19:52Speaker 3: ask him about about how.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Walker's playing and how Cole Van Landon factors into that,
- 19:57Speaker 4: and whyatt Mylem got some time on the field against
- 20:00Speaker 4: the Chargers. And you know, I've been told that once
- 20:03Speaker 4: he gets into the lineup, it's gonna be tough to
- 20:04Speaker 4: take him out because they think so highly of him
- 20:06Speaker 4: and he's proven to them that he has got the
- 20:08Speaker 4: skills to be a long term starter in Jacksonville. So
- 20:12Speaker 4: there's some reason for optimism. And as Sean mentioned, they
- 20:14Speaker 4: haven't played that bad. I mean, they gave him some
- 20:16Speaker 4: sacks and some of those were on the quarterback.
- 20:18Speaker 5: Yeah, you get the idea with Mylon that if you're
- 20:21Speaker 5: playing guard, don't get hurt because he's probably not going
- 20:26Speaker 5: to give up his spot once he's in there, maybe
- 20:28Speaker 5: not in the short term, in long and he's gonna
- 20:30Speaker 5: be the guy. I'm talking to Antonio Johnson for the
- 20:32Speaker 5: Ozone podcast and I'm not sure I ever talked to
- 20:35Speaker 5: him in that capacity.
- 20:36Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to.
- 20:37Speaker 4: A great story and it was well, no, no, I
- 20:39Speaker 4: was just gonna tell you I talked to him last
- 20:41Speaker 4: year and he grew up.
- 20:43Speaker 3: A part of his childhood was living in a car,
- 20:45Speaker 3: and he's St. Louis, Illinois, which if you.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Don't realize, he's one of the toughest cities, one of
- 20:49Speaker 4: the toughest places to live and grow up. I think
- 20:52Speaker 4: he's a tremendous story and he's a pretty well spoken kid, very.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Well talent, and a great one with Jacobe Myers last week.
- 20:57Speaker 2: If you had the Ozone pod, I'm.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Checking in with the franchise leader in sacks, Josh Hanzellen
- 21:02Speaker 1: for Off the Field, So anyone with questions send him
