- 0:59Speaker 2: Radio podcast presents verse by verse. This is our verse
- 1:04Speaker 2: by verse, chapter by chapter Bible study. I'm your host.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I'm your brother, Mr. His Hop. Thank you once again
- 1:15Speaker 2: for joining us. Thank you. We believe that your time
- 1:18Speaker 2: will be well invested as we investigate the word of
- 1:22Speaker 2: God together as we seek to apply it in our lives,
- 1:30Speaker 2: to yield to it, to allow the word of God
- 1:32Speaker 2: to go ahead of us. I'm your brother, I'm your host, Mr.
- 1:36Speaker 2: His Hop. And today, we are jumping into Jeremiah chapter 25.
- 1:44Speaker 2: We're only going to go and examine two verses today.
- 1:50Speaker 2: We're going to go through two verses today. Verses 15
- 1:53Speaker 2: and 16. I believe we're going to get a lot
- 1:59Speaker 2: out of those two verses. Now, in our previous episode,
- 2:02Speaker 2: we learned that Judah was served Babylon for 70 years.
- 2:08Speaker 2: But Babylon itself would eventually face God's wrath. Now the
- 2:15Speaker 2: Lord gives Jeremiah another powerful picture, a cup filled with
- 2:22Speaker 2: wine of his wrath. So that's one of the reasons
- 2:27Speaker 2: why I wanted to go slow. I wanted to examine
- 2:31Speaker 2: the scripture so that we can learn God's character, his heart,
- 2:37Speaker 2: so that we ourselves can avoid what has happened to
- 2:42Speaker 2: the nations, right? We're supposed to learn from history. Now,
- 2:48Speaker 2: if you want to get all you can out of
- 2:50Speaker 2: our time together, we want to invite you to log
- 2:53Speaker 2: into the live chat so that we could talk, we
- 2:57Speaker 2: could encourage, we can hold each other accountable. We can
- 3:01Speaker 2: keep each other on that narrow path because the Bible
- 3:05Speaker 2: tells us that the narrow path is the only path
- 3:09Speaker 2: that will lead to life. And that's what we're about
- 3:13Speaker 2: on this podcast. We are about life, eternal life specifically, right?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Life with Christ. And so we want to encourage you
- 3:22Speaker 2: to get off that narrow path. I mean, to get
- 3:24Speaker 2: off that broad road that leads to destruction. And one
- 3:29Speaker 2: of the ways to do it is to have an
- 3:30Speaker 2: accountability partner to connect with other believers, people that will
- 3:35Speaker 2: encourage you in your walk with God, people that will
- 3:38Speaker 2: encourage you to fall in love with Jesus. I mean,
- 3:43Speaker 2: be honest. How many friends do you have? How many
- 3:46Speaker 2: people are in your life? that are concerned about your soul,
- 3:52Speaker 2: concerned about your walk with the Lord, concerned about your
- 3:56Speaker 2: eternal destination. There are a lot of people that are
- 4:01Speaker 2: blind and they don't even know their own need for salvation, right?
- 4:05Speaker 2: So how are they going to help you? Oh, that's
- 4:09Speaker 2: what we offer here. We offer that eternal support. So
- 4:15Speaker 2: download that His Hop Radio app, H-I-S-H-O-P on all platforms.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Hit that top left menu, hit that drop down, click
- 4:23Speaker 2: on live chat, click register. It only takes a few
- 4:27Speaker 2: seconds to get into the live chat. And once you do,
- 4:30Speaker 2: we want to say welcome to the His Hop family. Also,
- 4:35Speaker 2: we want you to log into our community. It is
- 4:38Speaker 2: more of our social media page. Go down a little further.
- 4:43Speaker 2: We're able to share pics and videos and do a
- 4:45Speaker 2: little more. Let's get active on our online community. And also,
- 4:52Speaker 2: we like to have a little fun along the way.
- 4:56Speaker 2: We do our trivia challenge there and things like that.
- 5:00Speaker 2: We got more games and more stuff we want to do,
- 5:02Speaker 2: but we need more people to log in, to join
- 5:05Speaker 2: and get involved. And look at it this way, where
- 5:09Speaker 2: else do you want your children to spend their time, right?
- 5:12Speaker 2: If they're going to be online, might as well give
- 5:15Speaker 2: them somewhere positive and uplifting to go. And also you
- 5:20Speaker 2: can check out our website, hishotnation.com, if you want to
- 5:26Speaker 2: learn more about our organization. All right, let's go before
- 5:31Speaker 2: Father in prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank you for another day,
- 5:35Speaker 2: another opportunity. Help us to make the most out of today. Father,
- 5:39Speaker 2: we come against procrastination and sloth and laziness. So God,
- 5:44Speaker 2: help us, Lord, to be diligent about our relationship with you.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Help us, oh God, to study thy word, to show
- 5:51Speaker 2: ourselves approval. God, help us, Lord, to spend time with
- 5:54Speaker 2: you in the secret place. Let us not be too
- 5:58Speaker 2: busy for you today. We ask that you'll attach a
- 6:01Speaker 2: blessing to everyone listening to us. Today's episode, Father, we ask,
- 6:06Speaker 2: oh God, that destinies will be changed, that hearts will
- 6:11Speaker 2: be touched, and that eyes will be opened spiritually. And
- 6:15Speaker 2: we ask all of this in the mighty name of
- 6:18Speaker 2: your son, Jesus. Amen. All right, well, let's get into it.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It looks like you lost another one.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Like I said, we're going to go over to two scriptures,
- 6:35Speaker 2: but these scriptures are powerful. I don't want to rush
- 6:39Speaker 2: through the word of God. We want the word of
- 6:40Speaker 2: God to speak to our hearts. We're talking about the
- 6:47Speaker 2: wine of the cup of the fury. So I'm going
- 6:51Speaker 2: to read both verses 15 for that says the Lord
- 6:56Speaker 2: God of Israel to me. Of course, this is Jeremiah
- 7:00Speaker 2: speaking and I'm coming from you. coming to you from
- 7:03Speaker 2: the new King James that says the Lord God of
- 7:08Speaker 2: Israel to me take this wine cup of fury from
- 7:15Speaker 2: my hand and cause all the nations to whom I
- 7:21Speaker 2: send you to drink it that's powerful and they will
- 7:27Speaker 2: drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword
- 7:33Speaker 2: That I will sin among them. Amen. Now I want
- 7:42Speaker 2: to point out. For those of you who like to drink.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Especially our sipping saints out there. They always talking about
- 7:56Speaker 2: how the Lord turned water into wine. And they try
- 8:00Speaker 2: to use it as a justification to drink alcohol. But
- 8:05Speaker 2: also you got to look at these verses as well.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Wine also represents God's fury in his wrath. I don't
- 8:14Speaker 2: think we want to drink of this wine, right? As
- 8:19Speaker 2: we break this down. The cup of God's fury. Now,
- 8:29Speaker 2: as I go over some of my notes here. God
- 8:33Speaker 2: gives Jeremiah a symbolic cup representing divine judgment. Jeremiah is
- 8:40Speaker 2: instructed to make the nations drink of it. Meaning that
- 8:47Speaker 2: the nations identified in the surrounding prophecy would experience the
- 8:55Speaker 2: consequences of God's judgment. This image communicates that the judgment
- 9:04Speaker 2: comes under God's authority rather than being merely a random
- 9:11Speaker 2: series of political events. Now, let's look closely at the
- 9:18Speaker 2: language in this verse. God tells Jeremiah to take the
- 9:23Speaker 2: wine of the cup of this fury and calls the
- 9:27Speaker 2: nations to drink from it. Throughout the Bible, a cup
- 9:32Speaker 2: can serve as a symbol of what someone is giving
- 9:39Speaker 2: to experience. Here, the cup represents God's judgment against the
- 9:47Speaker 2: nations because of their wrongdoing. Now, let's think about this.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Let's think about what it means. The nations may have
- 9:56Speaker 2: possessed armies. the nations around them probably had greater wealth
- 10:03Speaker 2: than Judah greater political influence and they have possibly would
- 10:12Speaker 2: have had powerful rulers but none of those things place
- 10:17Speaker 2: them beyond God's So the cup was in God's hands.
- 10:26Speaker 2: This reminds us that God is not simply watching human
- 10:31Speaker 2: history unfold without authority or purpose behind it. Now in
- 10:39Speaker 2: this passage, he announces judgment against nations that have acted wickedly.
- 10:49Speaker 2: God is always in control and he's in control of
- 10:55Speaker 2: the whole story, the whole narrative, all of history. But however,
- 11:03Speaker 2: we need to be careful with how we apply this today.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Jeremiah was delivering a specific prophetic message from God. We
- 11:16Speaker 2: should not look at every war, every natural disaster, every
- 11:20Speaker 2: economic circumstance or political event and automatically declare that we
- 11:30Speaker 2: know is God's judgment against a particular nation. Which I
- 11:38Speaker 2: believe is a pretty good warning, right? But we must
- 11:44Speaker 2: distinguish what scripture explains reveals from our own assumptions. Now,
- 12:01Speaker 2: here is the principle. God is holy. He takes evil seriously.
- 12:08Speaker 2: And no earthly power is ultimately beyond his authority. So
- 12:18Speaker 2: we can also examine this in a personal way. Sometimes
- 12:27Speaker 2: we want to talk about God's love without acknowledging his holiness.
- 12:35Speaker 2: The Bible tells us that without holiness, no one will
- 12:39Speaker 2: even see the Lord. We want to hear about his
- 12:45Speaker 2: blessings and His protection and his favor, which are beautiful things,
- 12:51Speaker 2: but we don't want to hear about accountability. We don't
- 12:58Speaker 2: want to hear about that. We want to be able
- 13:00Speaker 2: to do our own thing and not be accountable. I've
- 13:06Speaker 2: noticed something that has happened over the years, especially since
- 13:10Speaker 2: I've been in ministry. We're living in a time where
- 13:16Speaker 2: people can create their own personal brand is very easy
- 13:22Speaker 2: to do and I'm not really speaking against it I'm
- 13:26Speaker 2: not saying that there's something wrong with it but it
- 13:32Speaker 2: also creates a disunity right in our society people begin
- 13:43Speaker 2: to think that I can stand on my own two
- 13:46Speaker 2: feet I don't need anyone else. I can do it myself.
- 13:50Speaker 2: I got all the tools. I mean, we got AI
- 13:53Speaker 2: agents now. We could run a whole organization with robots,
- 14:00Speaker 2: with technology. We could go a long distance before we
- 14:06Speaker 2: actually need another human touch in a lot of areas
- 14:10Speaker 2: in our lives. And that could bring us further apart
- 14:15Speaker 2: from further isolation and so when someone you hire to
- 14:25Speaker 2: work at your organization or your company you got to
- 14:29Speaker 2: be careful that they don't learn all your secrets and
- 14:32Speaker 2: then go and do what you're doing and become a
- 14:36Speaker 2: competitor because it's so easy for people to be individual
- 14:42Speaker 2: and and isolate it and do their own thing, especially
- 14:48Speaker 2: in this society today. But what we lack is the
- 14:54Speaker 2: human touch. We lack character, loyalty, things that are honoring
- 15:02Speaker 2: unto God. In God's eyes, he honors unity. He honors loyalty.
- 15:07Speaker 2: He honors love. Remember the greatest commandments, love your brother
- 15:11Speaker 2: as yourself. We're not meant to be selfish and self-centered
- 15:17Speaker 2: and puff ourselves up. As a matter of fact, the
- 15:20Speaker 2: platform that God gives us is not for you. It's
- 15:25Speaker 2: not for you to get the big head. You're not
- 15:27Speaker 2: the next new biggest star. We see what's going on
- 15:30Speaker 2: with these celebrities. Our platforms are for other people to
- 15:35Speaker 2: grow and to develop. We're supposed to create a safe
- 15:42Speaker 2: place For people to develop and to walk with the
- 15:48Speaker 2: Lord and learn their gifts and talents and learn the
- 15:53Speaker 2: purposes that God has placed on their lives. Amen. I
- 16:03Speaker 2: forgot why I went down this path. Talk about individualism,
- 16:07Speaker 2: but I know that the wrath of God, right? Oh,
- 16:13Speaker 2: we're talking about the accountability. See, ultimately we are accountable
- 16:18Speaker 2: before God. And if we can, God has been so gracious.
- 16:22Speaker 2: He said, if we judge ourselves, he will not have
- 16:25Speaker 2: to judge us. Right? And so it's good to have
- 16:31Speaker 2: a mature brother or sister in our lives that can say,
- 16:35Speaker 2: you know what? That is not God's will for your life.
- 16:39Speaker 2: This does not line up with scripture. In other words,
- 16:43Speaker 2: they're trying to tell you like if you went before
- 16:45Speaker 2: God today, your bacon will be cooked. You might not
- 16:49Speaker 2: make it into the kingdom. Some of these things are
- 16:52Speaker 2: a matter of life and death. Right? And so it's
- 16:57Speaker 2: good to have those relationships in our lives. Someone that
- 17:05Speaker 2: can pour into us and then someone that we can
- 17:08Speaker 2: pour into ourselves. Amen? But the severe consequences to the nations,
- 17:22Speaker 2: the severe accountability to the nations, the nations drinking from
- 17:30Speaker 2: the cup experience staggering and confusing this imagery that communicates
- 17:41Speaker 2: the overwhelming effect of the judgment announced by God. It
- 17:53Speaker 2: says that the nations will be staggering, right? Now, the
- 18:03Speaker 2: same Bible that speaks about God's blessing And God's mercy
- 18:09Speaker 2: also warns us about the consequences of our rebellion against God.
- 18:15Speaker 2: God's patience gives people opportunities to turn from wrongdoing. It
- 18:22Speaker 2: should never become an excuse to continue in it. God's
- 18:29Speaker 2: mercy should lead us towards repentance, not give us permission
- 18:35Speaker 2: to remain in rebellion. Amen? And the nations stagger under
- 18:42Speaker 2: God's judgment. The reference to the sword points to violent
- 18:47Speaker 2: conflict and destruction. The passage describes the severe consequences the
- 18:55Speaker 2: nations would experience under the judgment God declares. So as
- 19:05Speaker 2: I was saying, the nations drinking from the cup experience
- 19:08Speaker 2: staggering and confusion and they're just overwhelmed by this cup,
- 19:18Speaker 2: this wine of God's fury. Verse 16 describes a response
- 19:25Speaker 2: of the nations after drinking from the cup. They would
- 19:33Speaker 2: be moved or stagger and become confused because of the
- 19:40Speaker 2: sword God would send among them. So imagine the picture
- 19:50Speaker 2: Jeremiah is presenting to the nations here nations that once
- 19:55Speaker 2: appeared stable would experience turmoil leaders who believe they had
- 20:03Speaker 2: control would face circumstances they could not manage They found
- 20:10Speaker 2: out how much control they really don't have. The violence
- 20:14Speaker 2: of war would disrupt communities and overturn people's expectations. Beloved,
- 20:25Speaker 2: Jeremiah is prophesying about the times we're living in right now.
- 20:37Speaker 2: We can put this verse in today's newspaper. Now the
- 20:44Speaker 2: image of staggering communities that the nations would be overwhelmed
- 20:49Speaker 2: by what was coming upon them. And we can see
- 20:56Speaker 2: that in our nation today. We should not reduce this
- 21:04Speaker 2: passage to the idea that every person who experienced confusion
- 21:09Speaker 2: or suffering is being punished for personal sin. But the
- 21:17Speaker 2: immediate context concerned God's announced judgment against the nations. But
- 21:28Speaker 2: there is an important lesson for us though. Human beings
- 21:31Speaker 2: are not as self-sufficient as we sometimes imagine. We can plan,
- 21:38Speaker 2: we can build, we can organize, we can pursue success,
- 21:43Speaker 2: but we cannot control everything that happens in this world.
- 21:48Speaker 2: That's why it's even a sin to worry. God tells us,
- 21:53Speaker 2: why worry about the things we can't control? We need
- 21:56Speaker 2: to Give everything over to him. On that day of judgment,
- 22:04Speaker 2: he will ask us, how come you didn't give this
- 22:06Speaker 2: over to me? How come you did not surrender this
- 22:10Speaker 2: to me? It could be fear. It could be unforgiveness, bitterness.
- 22:15Speaker 2: It could be even hurt. God wants us to forgive.
- 22:19Speaker 2: God has really impressed on my heart lately the importance
- 22:24Speaker 2: of forgiveness and love. The Bible tells us if you
- 22:30Speaker 2: don't forgive, you will not be forgiven. I imagine unforgiveness
- 22:38Speaker 2: will probably be one of the biggest reasons why people
- 22:42Speaker 2: don't make it into the kingdom. Forgiveness is so important.
- 22:47Speaker 2: If there's somebody you need to forgive, forgive them now.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Put this podcast on pause and forgive and reconcile and
- 22:55Speaker 2: ask God to fill your heart with love. so that
- 23:00Speaker 2: we can be obedient to his word. It is serious, beloved.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Please do not allow unforgiveness to grow and fester in
- 23:09Speaker 2: your heart. Now, that should lead us towards humility, brother,
- 23:27Speaker 2: than fear. Instead of living as though we are In
- 23:31Speaker 2: complete control, we should recognize our dependence on God and
- 23:36Speaker 2: seek to live according to his word. Amen. We need
- 23:43Speaker 2: to yield. We need to add to our prayer. Lord,
- 23:48Speaker 2: your will, not my will be done. We are not
- 23:52Speaker 2: created to live a self-centered, selfish life because we can
- 23:57Speaker 2: never please self. It's an impossible task. People who are
- 24:03Speaker 2: living to please themselves are the most miserable people on
- 24:06Speaker 2: the planet. And there's also a warning about the destructive
- 24:12Speaker 2: consequences of wickedness. When leaders pursue violence, injustice, and oppression,
- 24:22Speaker 2: ordinary people often suffer. Entire communities can be affected by
- 24:29Speaker 2: the decisions of those who hold power. God's judgment in
- 24:42Speaker 2: this passage is not presented as meaningless chaos. It is
- 24:47Speaker 2: a response to wrongdoing within the border message of Jeremiah's prophecy. Oh, OK.
- 25:05Speaker 2: All right. I'm looking at my notes here. I read
- 25:07Speaker 2: that wrong. This guy's judgment in this passage is not
- 25:12Speaker 2: presented as meaningless chaos. It is the response to the
- 25:16Speaker 2: wrongdoing within the broader message of Jeremiah's prophecy. That makes
- 25:20Speaker 2: more sense. So for us, the particular response is to
- 25:25Speaker 2: reject evil, pursue justice. and remain faithful to God. Now
- 25:34Speaker 2: that is just being practical. Let me say that again.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Our response is to reject evil, pursue justice, and remain
- 25:47Speaker 2: faithful to God. We should not celebrate the suffering of
- 25:57Speaker 2: others or rush to declare that we know why a
- 26:02Speaker 2: particular tragedy occurred. I mean, unless God gives you a
- 26:09Speaker 2: specific word, or maybe God gives you a word of prophecy,
- 26:13Speaker 2: a word of wisdom or knowledge, then it's okay to
- 26:17Speaker 2: share if that's what the Holy Spirit tells us to.
- 26:20Speaker 2: But we shouldn't be quick to say that we know.
- 26:29Speaker 2: We should allow scripture to humble us and remind us
- 26:35Speaker 2: that every person and nation is accountable to God. When
- 26:42Speaker 2: we recognize that God is the ultimate authority, you should
- 26:45Speaker 2: become more humble, more careful within our choices and more
- 26:54Speaker 2: serious about living righteously. See, some of us, we think
- 27:01Speaker 2: it's your pastor you're dealing with. Oh, my pastor is
- 27:06Speaker 2: trying to make me accountable or my pastor is, you know, whatever.
- 27:15Speaker 2: You know, like we feel we want to dismiss or
- 27:18Speaker 2: not listen to our pastors. Or it could be your parents.
- 27:23Speaker 2: It could be a mentor or someone in our lives.
- 27:28Speaker 2: But ultimately, God is the final authority to where we
- 27:32Speaker 2: have to give an account to. And God blesses with
- 27:36Speaker 2: people to help us get things right so that he
- 27:40Speaker 2: will not have to deal with us on that day.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Because when we go before him, it'll be too late.
- 27:48Speaker 2: You'll be locked into whatever it is. If it's rebellion
- 27:51Speaker 2: against God, if it's stealing money from him, not tithing,
- 27:55Speaker 2: not giving offerings, if it's drugs, sex, alcohol, whatever it is,
- 28:03Speaker 2: whatever your particular sin may be, you will have to
- 28:08Speaker 2: give an account for it if you don't deal with it,
- 28:14Speaker 2: if we don't deal with it on this side of eternity. So,
- 28:24Speaker 2: The big lesson for today, like I said, we just
- 28:26Speaker 2: went over two verses. God gives us three important lessons, right?
- 28:36Speaker 2: God holds the nations accountable. So up to this point,
- 28:42Speaker 2: we've been talking about Judah and their rebellion and their consequences.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Now we turn to the nations. Everyone is accountable before God.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Judah happened to be judged first because Judah, that nation,
- 29:00Speaker 2: they are his chosen people. And so if we are wise,
- 29:07Speaker 2: we will learn from their mistakes, right? The cup symbolizes
- 29:13Speaker 2: the judgment God announced against the nations. Political power, wealth,
- 29:24Speaker 2: And military strength do not make anyone greater than the Lord.
- 29:29Speaker 4: Right?
- 29:32Speaker 2: You might be great in the natural, but God created
- 29:37Speaker 2: the universe. Number two, sin has consequences. The sword represents
- 29:45Speaker 2: the devastating conflict associated with the judgment described in this passage.
- 30:02Speaker 2: initiate them. Point three, God's patience is an opportunity to repent.
- 30:14Speaker 2: We should never assume that because judgment has not come immediately,
- 30:21Speaker 2: God approves of our behavior. The right response to his
- 30:27Speaker 2: holiness is humility, repentance, and obedience. Remember, we are not
- 30:34Speaker 2: called to speculate arrogantly about God's hidden purposes. We are
- 30:40Speaker 2: called to take his revealed words seriously and examine our
- 30:46Speaker 2: own lives. Amen. So the question is not whether we
- 30:51Speaker 2: can identify every person or nation we believe deserves judgment.
- 30:58Speaker 2: The question is whether we are willing to let God's
- 31:01Speaker 2: word correct us. Amen. So that we can avoid his wrath.
- 31:15Speaker 2: The Bible tells us that the wise man will see

- 32:52Speaker 6: my image. I'm done with that like revelation, it is finished.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Had to give me up cause.
- 32:57Speaker 6: I know I was dragging. I ain't had my armor

- 37:08Speaker 2: First question is, is there an area of my life
- 37:13Speaker 2: where I've been treating God's patience as permission to continue
- 37:19Speaker 2: doing something I know is wrong? That's a big one. Amen.
- 37:27Speaker 2: We need to ask ourselves that. Ask our partner. Maybe
- 37:30Speaker 2: they see something in you. Have my words, attitudes, or
- 37:36Speaker 2: choices contributed to conflict or hurt in someone else's life?
- 37:45Speaker 2: That's another good one. Question number three. What is one
- 37:51Speaker 2: particular step I can take this week to turn away
- 37:56Speaker 2: from that behavior and honor God? Hallelujah. We need to
- 38:02Speaker 2: be Constantly in an attitude of repentance. We should turn
- 38:11Speaker 2: away constantly from things that dishonor God and cause people
- 38:21Speaker 2: to stumble and even ourselves to stumble. Amen. Also, we

- 40:32Speaker 2: do with it? So what object is Jeremiah supposed to
- 40:38Speaker 2: take from God's hand? And once he takes it from
- 40:42Speaker 2: his hand, what is he supposed to do with his object?

- 42:33Speaker 2: is a monitored, I mean, I already said that, a 501c3,
- 42:39Speaker 2: a non-profit organization. We opened up a Christian club in 2012.
- 42:44Speaker 2: We ran it for about six and a half years.
- 42:52Speaker 2: We are looking to relaunch and reopen. We believe our
- 42:56Speaker 2: community can be greatly impacted by a positive place for
- 43:02Speaker 2: youth and young adults to come get the word and
- 43:05Speaker 2: have fun doing it. We also have youth programs with
- 43:10Speaker 2: our organization that we want to implement. We need the

- 44:07Speaker 2: to sow into this vision. All right, beloved. Well, with
- 44:15Speaker 2: all that out of the way, I got some closing remarks.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Jeremiah 25 verses 15 to 16 gives us a serious
- 44:27Speaker 2: picture of God's judgment. The cup represents the consequences God
- 44:35Speaker 2: declared would come upon the nations while the sword represents
- 44:39Speaker 2: the conflict and the destruction associated within that judgment. This
- 44:49Speaker 2: passage reminds us that God is not indifferent to evil.
- 44:57Speaker 2: His patience does not mean that injustice, violence, and rebellion
- 45:03Speaker 2: are acceptable. But we must approach this truth with humility.
- 45:16Speaker 2: We should not use God's judgment as an excuse to
- 45:19Speaker 2: celebrate other people's suffering or even to claim that we
- 45:27Speaker 2: know that divine explanation for every tragedy. But instead, we
- 45:35Speaker 2: should examine our own hearts, reject wrongdoing, and take his
- 45:42Speaker 2: word seriously. God's justice reminds us that our choices matter. Remember,
- 45:51Speaker 2: we're going to do a t-shirt, right? Black lives matter. Well,
- 45:56Speaker 2: our choices matter. Integrity matters. Amen.
- 46:01Speaker 4: What we say, what we do matters.
- 46:17Speaker 2: His holiness reminds us that we need his mercy. And
- 46:25Speaker 2: the gospel points us to Jesus Christ through whom God
- 46:30Speaker 2: offers forgiveness and reconciliation to those who repent and place
- 46:37Speaker 2: their faith in him. Don't wait for the crisis before
- 46:44Speaker 2: you start taking your walk with God seriously. Listen to
- 46:52Speaker 2: his word. Turn away from what is wrong. Treat people
- 46:58Speaker 2: with dignity and use your influence responsibly. Amen. And remember,
- 47:08Speaker 2: it's not about us. It's all about the Christ in us.
- 47:12Speaker 2: See you in the next episode. God bless.
- 47:27Speaker 3: You are listening to The Light of Las Vegas. This
- 47:30Speaker 3: is the HizHop Radio Show.
