- 0:02Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, welcome, welcome, welcome, and
- 0:05Speaker 1: he is at time now for our car Talk program
- 0:09Speaker 1: with it Brad Dungeons from Dungeons to good morning, Brad,
- 0:12Speaker 1: how are we doing today.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Asked a loaded question. Yeah, I don want to talk
- 0:16Speaker 2: about it. I don't thank you, Thank you everyone for
- 0:19Speaker 2: joining us. I'm glad you're here with us today. We'll
- 0:22Speaker 2: get changed subject out. We don't have to change our password.
- 0:25Speaker 3: To do this too. No passwords, no security measures.
- 0:31Speaker 2: That's driving in. The Geese seem to have taken over Bartlesville.
- 0:37Speaker 2: There's a couple crossing the road with their two new babies,
- 0:41Speaker 2: and and after your morning, there's.
- 0:45Speaker 4: There.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And then we've had them in our neighborhood too. I
- 0:48Speaker 2: don't know that that was kind of unusual. They're walking
- 0:51Speaker 2: around in the different yards and I haven't seen them
- 0:54Speaker 2: nesting up yet. But then there were two at first,
- 0:57Speaker 2: and then a couple of days later there were four.
- 1:00Speaker 2: So they're around. I'm sure quite where they've settled down.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Hopefully not in your yard.
- 1:09Speaker 2: No, that would be I hear that's not good. But
- 1:13Speaker 2: it doesn't appear there in our yard. But last year
- 1:16Speaker 2: we had them at the dealership.
- 1:17Speaker 3: They were that would coming.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Up every year onto the on the pad, will go
- 1:26Speaker 2: through our gardens and then down in the little between
- 1:31Speaker 2: the dealership and the road that there's a ditch with
- 1:34Speaker 2: a nice tall grass in it, and he would watch
- 1:37Speaker 2: her eat. And then you know were behind the walgreens,
- 1:42Speaker 2: there's a nice pond. I think they like they like that,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and then I guess our grass was extra tasty.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So it's always greener on the other side side.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And then we have Earth Day yesterday, Yes, that is
- 1:59Speaker 2: good day.
- 2:00Speaker 5: We can't do it without our.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Earth, It's true, that's true. We got to keep it clean.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah. And I've got Debbie Happen here from Robstone, yes
- 2:11Speaker 2: going on.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Good stuff coming up.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Our Arts of Hopestone is next Sunday, May third, from
- 2:18Speaker 4: four to six. Bring in a lot of local artists.
- 2:23Speaker 5: So it's a great informal event.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Very informal, Sinco de Mayo theme, very laid back, easy going.
- 2:31Speaker 4: We have our Hopestone Potters, We have a lot of
- 2:35Speaker 4: artists from the Bartlesville Art Association.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Taking part. This year we had some really cool.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Hand painted porcelain that was really very interesting. Silversmith Cherokee silversmith,
- 2:54Speaker 4: So just a lot of.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Really cool art pieces and.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Then our friend Chris Antel is going to come up
- 3:01Speaker 4: and he's gonna paint live. He hasn't done that in
- 3:04Speaker 4: a while, so he's going to do that for us,
- 3:08Speaker 4: and then we'll be auctioning that off. We've got some
- 3:11Speaker 4: live auction items so local businesses.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Art.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Oh, the all the art with the silent auctions. So
- 3:20Speaker 4: the live auction is all food, okay, so it's kind
- 3:27Speaker 4: of neat. Melody from Melodies Catering she's donated a cast
- 3:33Speaker 4: role of the month, so you can go in any day, anytime,
- 3:37Speaker 4: pick out a cast role and it's yours to take home.
- 3:40Speaker 4: You can do that once a month. So that's one
- 3:43Speaker 4: of our auction items. Hillary Kamplan from Lunette has offered
- 3:49Speaker 4: a twelve person charcouterie or a appetizer's fancy appetizer's free,
- 3:57Speaker 4: which is a dinner and than a five of.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Course plated meal for four. So we're going to do that.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Tri County Tech Seth Day is going to do his
- 4:09Speaker 4: cooking experience for ten so you get to go to
- 4:13Speaker 4: Try County Tech and prepare your own meal.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Basically, learn to do it, yeah, learn to do it. Yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 3: So we're excited about that.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Bob Dunbar, who owns the New York Pizza Experience. It's
- 4:27Speaker 4: a gourmet pizza party for twenty so you know, he
- 4:33Speaker 4: can do the regular you know, cheese pizzas, margarite pizzas,
- 4:37Speaker 4: that kind of stuff, but he specializes in gourmet pizzas.
- 4:40Speaker 4: So they're like rageing Cajun and which is a spicy
- 4:45Speaker 4: kind of Cajun pizza with shrimp, and he does a
- 4:49Speaker 4: surfing turf and all different kinds of really cool combinations.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a very big thing in Tulsa, a very
- 5:00Speaker 4: big thing in Tulsa. They go for a lot of
- 5:02Speaker 4: money his feats of parties because he makes.
- 5:04Speaker 3: A lot of food.
- 5:06Speaker 4: I'm a lot of food. And then of course Chris
- 5:09Speaker 4: Mantle's painting, so yes, really cool live auction items that
- 5:15Speaker 4: everybody can participate in. And as just said, it's just
- 5:18Speaker 4: a really very chill, lay back eventre too great food.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Our friends at the Eatery take extremely good care of us.
- 5:28Speaker 4: They're wonderful. Chef Marjorie is just the best. She's the best.
- 5:34Speaker 4: So yep, they're doing the food for us again this year.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And it all goes to support the Hopstone Yes, it's
- 5:39Speaker 2: stuff that's going on all year round, all the families
- 5:46Speaker 2: and friends, and yeah, helping them through that process.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Yeah, make sure their prescriptions are taken care of that,
- 5:53Speaker 4: you know, if they need to go down to Houston
- 5:57Speaker 4: or go up to Chicago or wherever. Their doctor says, hey,
- 6:01Speaker 4: there's this clinical trial here. I think you're a good
- 6:04Speaker 4: candidate for this. You know, we can make sure that
- 6:07Speaker 4: they have a flight to get there. We can make
- 6:10Speaker 4: sure that their hotel expense is taken care of.
- 6:13Speaker 3: We don't want there to ever be barriers to care.
- 6:16Speaker 2: That's I think that's not that's.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Really what you guys do is remove the barriers.
- 6:22Speaker 2: And yes, kind of provide support and comfort to people who.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Get that feeding tube stuff. That's been a biggie. We're
- 6:30Speaker 4: getting a lot of head and neck.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Cancers and I don't know if that's.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Because there's a lot of chew or whatever, tobacco that
- 6:38Speaker 4: it's usually a tobacco alcohol kind of a cancer, you know.
- 6:43Speaker 3: And virus HPV virus type of thing.
- 6:47Speaker 4: And so, you know, back in the day, there was
- 6:51Speaker 4: no you know, vaccine or anything you could do to
- 6:53Speaker 4: even try to prevent it.
- 6:55Speaker 3: But so there's a lot a lot of head and
- 6:58Speaker 3: neck cancers.
- 6:59Speaker 4: So we're dealing with a lot of feeding tubes, a
- 7:04Speaker 4: lot of feeding tubes, and for some reason, insurance will
- 7:06Speaker 4: improve the feeding tube being put in, but they don't
- 7:10Speaker 4: want to pay for the food.
- 7:12Speaker 3: So we're we're we've.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Been fighting that battle for a hot minute. But you know,
- 7:21Speaker 4: people who no longer need the feedings or whatever, they'll
- 7:24Speaker 4: bring it down.
- 7:26Speaker 3: So we have a very large stash.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Of food that we can give them until they work out,
- 7:34Speaker 4: you know, until they work out the issue.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Because the case of the food only lasts four days,
- 7:39Speaker 3: you know.
- 7:40Speaker 4: So we just got a delivery yesterday of i think
- 7:43Speaker 4: for like forty two cases so.
- 7:47Speaker 3: To add to our supply.
- 7:49Speaker 4: So we're able to just say here you go, here's
- 7:52Speaker 4: you know, a couple of cases, and call us if
- 7:55Speaker 4: you need more, you know, So things like that, all
- 7:57Speaker 4: that kind of stuff obviously are program is huge, up
- 8:04Speaker 4: to sixty on our meal program, and so that.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Is really huge.
- 8:11Speaker 4: We prepare for different meals every week, package them up
- 8:16Speaker 4: and deliver.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Them to their homes or they can come and pick
- 8:19Speaker 3: them up. So it's it's a lot.
- 8:23Speaker 4: We do a lot more than people realize, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 4: and that's kind of been the the conversation some people
- 8:31Speaker 4: some people do I.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Mean, I know, yeah, I mean, you guys have been
- 8:35Speaker 2: selected multiple times in our annual anniversary, yeah, where we
- 8:40Speaker 2: celebrate in December by donating to charities. For every purchase
- 8:45Speaker 2: of a vehicle, we make a donation and you guys
- 8:48Speaker 2: have gotten the most a couple.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Of times, and that takes care of our people. You
- 8:53Speaker 4: literally those donations save people's lives. So three people's lives.
- 8:58Speaker 2: What's need is those are our customers, local community picking
- 9:04Speaker 2: you guys, and then of course we love supporting all
- 9:06Speaker 2: the great oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, you know that
- 9:10Speaker 2: allows them to kind of direct that, yes, And and
- 9:14Speaker 2: then we get a match from Toyota yes, in order
- 9:17Speaker 2: to help with that and they gives it a nice boost.
- 9:21Speaker 4: So yeah, it's just it's really it's Hope Stone is
- 9:24Speaker 4: all about people helping people.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Know, there's no event.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Since the great community you.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Have there and yeah, and we're really excited about it
- 9:36Speaker 4: this year. And then tonight Moxie on Seconds doing a
- 9:40Speaker 4: fashion show which sold out and I have two of
- 9:43Speaker 4: my cancer survivors are in that fashion show to so
- 9:48Speaker 4: very excited about that. Every year for the last five years.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I think Christy at Moxie has been doing that and
- 9:55Speaker 4: then donating all the proceeds to Hopstone.
- 9:58Speaker 3: So we have that tonight, and.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I just love it because it gives people an
- 10:04Speaker 4: opportunity to give back, you know, and there's no strings attached,
- 10:12Speaker 4: there's no you know, it's not our.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Building is paid for. We don't have any debt.
- 10:19Speaker 4: We're not paying our you know, paying big salaries or
- 10:22Speaker 4: anything like that for for our volunteers.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just great. Those really cool.
- 10:30Speaker 5: It's a great organization.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And it's Bartlesville's you know uniquet.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Doctor Jennifer MCKISSI, Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Who fell into that need.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and then kind of thought, I think I never imagine,
- 10:47Speaker 2: but well, other people the same support.
- 10:51Speaker 4: And yeah, she was born and raised here and so
- 10:55Speaker 4: she came back and that was her that was her thing.
- 10:59Speaker 3: She and she pushed and pushed and pushed and got
- 11:03Speaker 3: people on board. And it's grown. Boy, is it grown.
- 11:09Speaker 3: It's grown. It is amazing. You know, I'm just so blessed.
- 11:13Speaker 4: I'm like, how did how did I get so blessed.
- 11:17Speaker 3: You know to be able to do this?
- 11:19Speaker 4: And I think, you know, little experiences in my life,
- 11:23Speaker 4: you know, my dad had cancered numerous times.
- 11:25Speaker 3: My brother had cancer.
- 11:27Speaker 4: I had cancer just geneticcessible, you know, and and.
- 11:32Speaker 3: This is what he chose for me to do. This
- 11:35Speaker 3: was my purpose and I found it. So it's very exciting. Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 3: I love it. I love what I do.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I love being able to help people. I love being
- 11:44Speaker 4: able to help families, you know, and talking people off
- 11:50Speaker 4: the ledge because cancer is a really scary word, you know,
- 11:54Speaker 4: and just sitting down and having a conversation and taking
- 11:58Speaker 4: away some.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Of that fear.
- 12:00Speaker 2: We'll tell them the people are listening that may not
- 12:02Speaker 2: know where you are and how to access the support
- 12:06Speaker 2: services that you have, because that's really the first step
- 12:11Speaker 2: down there.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Just stop by, yeah, and make an appointment. We're at
- 12:16Speaker 4: two O six Southeast Frank Phillips Boulevard, so right on
- 12:19Speaker 4: Frank Phillips Boulevard between O Sage and Dewey.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Beautiful building.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, people are very surprised. It's an old, historic building.
- 12:27Speaker 4: We kept, you know, the brick walls and the high
- 12:31Speaker 4: tin ceilings.
- 12:32Speaker 3: We kept as much.
- 12:33Speaker 4: As we possibly could level buildings, and so it's a
- 12:37Speaker 4: beautiful facility. We have a little boutique in there. We
- 12:40Speaker 4: have an exercise area. We have a beautiful pottery area
- 12:45Speaker 4: where Hopstone Potters do all of their pottery. And then
- 12:49Speaker 4: upstairs is just our our kitchen and our lymphatic massage and.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Just to really chill.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Our meeting space and that's where we'll hold our event
- 13:02Speaker 4: is up on the second floor. But we do have
- 13:04Speaker 4: an elevator of course, and yeah, it's just a great place.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Come on in and let us help you, you know,
- 13:13Speaker 3: let us help you.
- 13:14Speaker 4: We have gas cards, we have nutritional supplies, all different
- 13:20Speaker 4: kinds of things, wicks, starts, whatever you need.
- 13:24Speaker 5: If you think of something else, I'm sure you'd figure.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Hey, if I don't have it, I'm a really good beggar.
- 13:29Speaker 4: And I'll get it somewhere.
- 13:33Speaker 5: I'm sure you can. And that great support.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Connect community is amazing.
- 13:37Speaker 2: The event supports all that throughout the year, helps draw
- 13:40Speaker 2: attention to what you do, but it also it raises
- 13:43Speaker 2: money to provide for the resources required.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we have got.
- 13:48Speaker 5: You mentioned before the show.
- 13:49Speaker 2: You have great sponsors, double sponsors this year.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Conco Phillips, Phillip sixty six, Ascension, Saint John Jane Phillips,
- 13:59Speaker 4: Truity and then Prosperity Bank, you know, and a lot
- 14:04Speaker 4: of individual people. Of course, my husband know how that works.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Jamie Kirkpatrick, Stephen, Joan Hidorn, DeBie and Mark Haskell, the
- 14:17Speaker 4: Walmart distribution center. They they support us. They jumped on
- 14:22Speaker 4: board with the Arts of Hoopestone this year. They usually
- 14:24Speaker 4: help us with Dad's Walk Price Connor, Marty Smith, the
- 14:28Speaker 4: Bartlesville print Shop, Moxie of course and few doors.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Down bartles Will want in Spirits. So we had a huge.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Support network this year which was really great, a good
- 14:42Speaker 4: combination of individuals and businesses, you know, and then of
- 14:46Speaker 4: course you you know, you let me come on here
- 14:49Speaker 4: and at least four or five times a year any time.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I mean, it's such a great thing because I know
- 14:56Speaker 2: the reason you get the support is because you touched
- 15:00Speaker 2: so many lives.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yes, and you know a lot of times that's kind.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Of hidden in a way. I mean, it's find the scenes.
- 15:06Speaker 2: People don't necessarily want to talk about that. You know,
- 15:10Speaker 2: it is something that is personal and private, but at
- 15:14Speaker 2: the same time, you know it's you can tell it's
- 15:17Speaker 2: abroad that these organizations and individuals have been touched by that.
- 15:22Speaker 5: I know that's one reason why.
- 15:24Speaker 2: It's it's so popular among our customers, and you know,
- 15:28Speaker 2: we have people with the dealership that have been needed
- 15:32Speaker 2: your organization supporting their families. So yeah, it is Uh,
- 15:36Speaker 2: it's something that touches the whole community.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Really.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why discriminate while you're you're you're a successful back.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it doesn't discriminate.
- 15:47Speaker 4: You know, we've got from four month old to le
- 15:51Speaker 4: got a lady in the other day and she's an
- 15:55Speaker 4: eighty four year old former teacher.
- 15:57Speaker 3: In Bartlesville and uh, she just said.
- 16:04Speaker 4: I heard about you, I know about you, but I
- 16:07Speaker 4: had absolutely no idea of the extent until I stopped
- 16:13Speaker 4: by for a visit.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's what I would encourage people to do. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 2: you're interested in this, if you want to help, you
- 16:19Speaker 2: always need volunteer.
- 16:21Speaker 4: You always need volunteers for things like ours of Hopestone.
- 16:24Speaker 3: We have our.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Dad's Walk, that's.
- 16:33Speaker 5: That's going to be a region.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's going to be October fifteenth to the
- 16:39Speaker 4: seventeenth this year, so we'll be gearing up for that.
- 16:43Speaker 4: So I'll be looking for you again to promote that.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Who knows, we may even get mister Brian in on.
- 16:49Speaker 2: That to come on board, but he's busy.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I know, he's busy.
- 16:54Speaker 4: He's running all over the country world actually, but that's
- 16:59Speaker 4: none of his.
- 16:59Speaker 5: Son keeps him busy.
- 17:01Speaker 3: He does keep him busy, tries to keep him out
- 17:04Speaker 3: of trouble.
- 17:04Speaker 5: That's what I know. That's why it's so cool with you,
- 17:07Speaker 5: the yes and the musicians that come.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Yes.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I mean, but it's a great story because he does
- 17:14Speaker 5: this walk.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Every year and born and raised in Copan, and he
- 17:20Speaker 4: does this walk for cancer and raises you know, oh
- 17:26Speaker 4: my gosh. I think this year it was probably between
- 17:31Speaker 4: us Saint Clair Past to Independence is the other organization that.
- 17:36Speaker 3: They support, probably close to three hundred thousand.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Wow.
- 17:43Speaker 4: And it's great again because last year we decided to
- 17:47Speaker 4: get our community involved, so we had a lot of
- 17:50Speaker 4: restaurants that donated food for the event on Saturday, you know,
- 17:57Speaker 4: cranky planks and crossing Second and painted whorse, Bambinos, the eatery,
- 18:04Speaker 4: all of these local businesses that gave.
- 18:09Speaker 3: For the food. So no expense there we didn't have.
- 18:13Speaker 4: We had very very minimal expense, Walmart distribution center, you know,
- 18:19Speaker 4: all of these these local businesses gave so we had
- 18:25Speaker 4: didn't have expense for food and so all of that money,
- 18:29Speaker 4: you know, all of that money goes right to Claire
- 18:32Speaker 4: and I and so that's it's a big deal. It's
- 18:36Speaker 4: a really big deal, and it impacts.
- 18:39Speaker 5: A lot of lives ourselves because that's way off.
- 18:41Speaker 3: In October, right, Come have some fun.
- 18:48Speaker 5: Should be a great evening.
- 18:49Speaker 3: We'll be there, yes, yes, excited.
- 18:51Speaker 5: To come see the art and bid on some things.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Get some tickets online at w w W cancer dot org.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you know me.
- 19:01Speaker 4: I don't limit stuff, no limit, right, fill it up.
- 19:06Speaker 4: The more the merrier. So they can get tickets online
- 19:11Speaker 4: on the website. They can get tickets the day of
- 19:16Speaker 4: at the door. We prefer that we kind of know
- 19:18Speaker 4: ahead of time. For the eatery, you know, we don't
- 19:21Speaker 4: want to be stress and Marjorie and Brian and Annie ow.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Too badly, but they take really good care of us.
- 19:29Speaker 4: I love the Eatery. I can't say enough. Wonderful things
- 19:32Speaker 4: and melodies doing our.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Desserts coincides with this year, so a little bit of fun.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Sink flare definitely Sinco de Mayo flair. We're all about
- 19:43Speaker 4: the flair, but it'll be good.
- 19:47Speaker 3: What's going on with the dealership.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Well, we do have a ton of stuff going on.
- 19:50Speaker 2: We still don't have any wrap for I know.
- 19:53Speaker 4: That's okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna question and the list.
- 19:58Speaker 2: That's what we're trying to do. Get that one you want.
- 20:02Speaker 2: But I think we've delivered about twenty or twenty five
- 20:05Speaker 2: of them.
- 20:06Speaker 5: Now they continue to just they're they're incredible.
- 20:11Speaker 2: We have people come drive through the lot every day
- 20:13Speaker 2: wanting to look at them, and it's like, well, they're
- 20:15Speaker 2: not here anymore. There's some coming and yeah, it's a
- 20:20Speaker 2: it's an incredible launch to that vehicle. You know. Hopefully
- 20:24Speaker 2: it'll settle down later in the year. We'll get them
- 20:26Speaker 2: where we can have some on the ground. If I
- 20:29Speaker 2: can get one to stay there for a minute, we
- 20:32Speaker 2: might buy one.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Just so we have a display vehicle. We've talked about
- 20:35Speaker 5: doing that.
- 20:36Speaker 2: That crazy we'd have one to show people because because
- 20:40Speaker 2: people do want to take a look at it.
- 20:42Speaker 5: And drive it.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Some of those our vehicles are some of those soyotas
- 20:47Speaker 2: are so popular right now it's really hard to keep
- 20:49Speaker 2: them on the ground. The Route four, the land Cruiser
- 20:53Speaker 2: sometimes the Forerunner or that way. We do have one
- 20:56Speaker 2: of our best inventories of the year or in a
- 20:58Speaker 2: long time, really in several years right now because we've
- 21:01Speaker 2: been growing pretty rapidly.
- 21:03Speaker 5: We were up.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Dramatically in the first quarter of the year, doubling our business. Uh,
- 21:09Speaker 2: and that's that's really exciting. That's that's uh, we know,
- 21:13Speaker 2: it's it's working our great team at the dealership and
- 21:17Speaker 2: a non commissioned sales approach, which really means there's you know,
- 21:20Speaker 2: we don't put pressure on you to buy something certain
- 21:24Speaker 2: and that's not up to our team too. You know,
- 21:28Speaker 2: obviously we're a business. We need to make money for
- 21:30Speaker 2: our sell things. But it's that's not what it's about.
- 21:33Speaker 2: It's about answering your questions, helping you buy a car.
- 21:36Speaker 2: We have no documentation fee at all. We just believe
- 21:41Speaker 2: in simple pricing and keeping things straightforward. That there's been
- 21:46Speaker 2: some news on that in the last few weeks. We've
- 21:48Speaker 2: had both the Oklahoma MOVERI Vehicle Commission and the Federal
- 21:52Speaker 2: Trade Commission or really amping up their enforcement of laws
- 21:57Speaker 2: that are have already been out there. But uh, you know,
- 22:00Speaker 2: focused on dealers that don't have straightforward pricing, and there's
- 22:04Speaker 2: sometimes that I don't you know, I don't really like
- 22:08Speaker 2: talk about it this way, but sometimes it's not all
- 22:10Speaker 2: clear and the price you see online may not be
- 22:13Speaker 2: what you pay, and that's just what it should be.
- 22:15Speaker 2: That you know, obviously, if you advertise a price under
- 22:18Speaker 2: the law, you're supposed to honor that price. And there
- 22:21Speaker 2: shouldn't be special requirements or hoops you have to jump
- 22:24Speaker 2: through to get that price. It's supposed to be available
- 22:27Speaker 2: to everyone at that at that value. And of course
- 22:29Speaker 2: it's negotiable that you can you can lower the price,
- 22:33Speaker 2: but you can't raise it. And and a lot of
- 22:36Speaker 2: times things like a documentation fee and other dealer add on.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Some dealers do things like ad tent and and other accessories.
- 22:46Speaker 5: To vehicles before the you know, the vehicles sold, and
- 22:51Speaker 5: and you know you may or may.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Not want that stuff, but you know so that that
- 22:56Speaker 2: stuff's got to be clearly marked and priced and to
- 22:59Speaker 2: the most prominent price of the vehicle that's out there.
- 23:03Speaker 2: And things like rebates and other incentives that are conditional.
- 23:09Speaker 2: In other words, you have to either be a part
- 23:11Speaker 2: of an organization or do a certain thing like trade
- 23:14Speaker 2: or finance on that purchase. Those cannot be in the
- 23:19Speaker 2: most prominent price. You can still offer those kinds of incentives,
- 23:22Speaker 2: of course, and every manufacturer does has rebates and things
- 23:26Speaker 2: that are choices, but we've got lots of those going
- 23:31Speaker 2: on in Toyta. But our price online is the same
- 23:33Speaker 2: price that we have on the vehicle at the dealership
- 23:37Speaker 2: or in the showroom. We have our team that has
- 23:41Speaker 2: great technology to help you with the process of answering
- 23:44Speaker 2: those questions that used to have to have that back
- 23:47Speaker 2: and forth in the dealership with the sales team or
- 23:50Speaker 2: what is the payment and how much down do I need?
- 23:53Speaker 2: And what's the financing rate, and you know all, what's
- 23:57Speaker 2: the trade costs. We've got all that to those tools online.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Really a great system that allows our team to answer
- 24:06Speaker 2: a lot of those questions.
- 24:07Speaker 5: You can even do it at home on.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Yeah, your website, I was going to say. The website
- 24:11Speaker 4: is fantastic.
- 24:12Speaker 2: I really goes work and you can get a quick
- 24:15Speaker 2: idea of what your trade is worth. You can put
- 24:17Speaker 2: your own information in there. You can even submit your
- 24:21Speaker 2: credit app and actually pretty much buy the car. And
- 24:24Speaker 2: we do that all the time. By time where we're
- 24:27Speaker 2: delivering cars all over the country it seems, but the
- 24:31Speaker 2: reality is most of our deals are done here in Bartlesville,
- 24:34Speaker 2: and and you know, so come on down talk to
- 24:36Speaker 2: our team. If it's something, if you don't see it
- 24:39Speaker 2: on the lot, be sure to tell us what you're
- 24:41Speaker 2: looking for. A lot of we get two allocations of
- 24:44Speaker 2: Toyotas a month. Those that are most popular are going
- 24:48Speaker 2: to get sell really quick. Yeah, and you know, I mean,
- 24:51Speaker 2: I think sometimes things like Tacoma, which is our best
- 24:55Speaker 2: selling vehicle right now, has been for the last couple
- 24:57Speaker 2: of years.
- 24:58Speaker 5: We have some of those.
- 25:00Speaker 2: So it's not that all the most popular ones aren't available,
- 25:03Speaker 2: but those like the brand new Retfold. We have a
- 25:06Speaker 2: new model coming out and it's so it's in high
- 25:09Speaker 2: demand and short supply across the entire Toyota dealer world.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And you know, we haven't really been affected at this
- 25:17Speaker 2: point by by the tariffs and supply chain things.
- 25:21Speaker 5: You know, Toyota does have great value vehicles.
- 25:24Speaker 2: We still make the Corolla and Cameray and those kinds
- 25:27Speaker 2: of vehicles. Corolla Cross and that are the start under
- 25:31Speaker 2: thirty thousand dollars, So you know, I know, when you
- 25:34Speaker 2: look at a lot of vehicles they're fifty sixty thousand
- 25:37Speaker 2: or more, and of course we have those two. But
- 25:39Speaker 2: the bottom line is to Ita, you can still get
- 25:42Speaker 2: a great vehicle like a four Runner SR five, you know,
- 25:47Speaker 2: around forty forty two thousand dollars, so great value still there,
- 25:51Speaker 2: great food economy with the price of gas up crazy
- 25:56Speaker 2: like it is, you know, with our hybrids and plug
- 25:59Speaker 2: in hybrids, battery electric vehicles, we have a great selection
- 26:02Speaker 2: of all kinds of power trains that all are very
- 26:05Speaker 2: feel efficient and so come talk to our team about that.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I was happy.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Mark Saravey called me the minute I REB four came
- 26:14Speaker 4: in and he said, if you hurry up, you can,
- 26:19Speaker 4: you can just drive this to make sure this is
- 26:22Speaker 4: what you really want, you know. And he goes, make
- 26:24Speaker 4: sure this is what you really want, and you know,
- 26:28Speaker 4: and it was great. And he asked, so what other
- 26:31Speaker 4: what other vehicles are you looking at? He said, make
- 26:33Speaker 4: sure you drive them, go test drive them. And of course,
- 26:38Speaker 4: you know, I love at four. My daughter still has
- 26:41Speaker 4: hers that he sold us back in twenty fifteen. I think, yeah,
- 26:46Speaker 4: it's still going strong. We just had it repainted because
- 26:50Speaker 4: she had some hail damage. She's down with the c
- 26:52Speaker 4: and yeah, as long as.
- 26:54Speaker 5: You change, I don't know. I will make that decision
- 27:01Speaker 5: later in the afternoon. But we had to do it
- 27:04Speaker 5: last week and well, it was crazy.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Is we sold a bunch of cars while we had
- 27:07Speaker 2: them inside, and so I don't know what the deal
- 27:12Speaker 2: is with that, but there we You know, there's a
- 27:15Speaker 2: chance we'll bring them in this afternoon, I think, because
- 27:18Speaker 2: the storms tonight looked like they could be severe if
- 27:21Speaker 2: they like they do.
- 27:22Speaker 5: And it will never know. We don't want to have
- 27:25Speaker 5: them hit by hail. We have.
- 27:28Speaker 2: We'd rather have a no hail sale than that other otherwise.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And it doesn't take much.
- 27:35Speaker 3: No, it doesn't doesn't.
- 27:37Speaker 2: So hopefully we'll creak our fingers crossed on that and
- 27:41Speaker 2: for the rest of the weekend, hopefully we'll get by
- 27:43Speaker 2: without too severe weather and get some more rain and
- 27:46Speaker 2: make those geese happy.
- 27:48Speaker 5: There's stumbling around town.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Oh my, folks really can fighting brand well.
- 27:56Speaker 2: If you want to just look online at done just
- 27:58Speaker 2: Toyota dot com is a great way to start. We're
- 28:01Speaker 2: all in transit Toyotas and used cars are up there.
- 28:06Speaker 5: In stock vehicles, all the tools that we talked about.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Or even come by the dealership at nineteen eleven Southeast
- 28:13Speaker 2: Washington Boulevard and to come see us, and I'll.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Be there in a few minutes. Alrightie, Well, thank you
- 28:19Speaker 5: very much. Bolks, you've been watching and listening.
- 28:21Speaker 1: To our car Talk program with Brad dungeas with dungeus Toyota.
- 28:26Speaker 5: Stay tuned.
- 28:27Speaker 1: We're going to have a check of your forecast coming
- 28:29Speaker 1: up next Hopefully we won't have that here, but in case,
- 28:32Speaker 1: we'll keep you ahead of the storm depending on us
