- 0:39Speaker 3: Welcome in, Glad to have you with us for a
- 0:42Speaker 3: new week.
- 0:42Speaker 1: This portion of the program brought to you by Central
- 0:44Speaker 1: Texas Sports Medicine. At a full show, I'm gonna hear
- 0:49Speaker 1: from coach Elco and the quarterback here from Lane Kiffin.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna hear from the writers in the second hour,
- 0:57Speaker 1: Rusty and Cease. We'll be with us a lot to
- 1:00Speaker 1: talk about, I think coming up. Marcel Reid cash as
- 1:05Speaker 1: how SEC Players of the Week read his first Offensive
- 1:10Speaker 1: Player award, how Defensive Lineman of the Week for the
- 1:13Speaker 1: third time this year, they're doing okay. I think Reid
- 1:20Speaker 1: received Davy O'Brien Great Eight and Manning Award Stars of
- 1:24Speaker 1: the Week. See this Reid is ensconsing on Manning territory.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Manning didn't win the Manning Award this week.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Barcel did kick off for the Missouri game November eight
- 1:41Speaker 1: to thirty in Columbia.
- 1:44Speaker 3: That will be on ABC.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I hope and I believe that means we don't have
- 1:52Speaker 1: to listen to Mark Jones. I forget who the afternoon
- 1:57Speaker 1: ABC people are, but they're not Mark Jones. Brian Kelly
- 2:02Speaker 1: is out at LSU after three and a half years.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Kelly's thirty four and fourteen and three seasons had two
- 2:13Speaker 1: ten win seasons, a Heisman Trophy winner, appeared in the
- 2:20Speaker 1: SEC title game, and Scott Woodward, who loves these contracts,
- 2:25Speaker 1: owes him fifty four million dollars. Now you had the
- 2:28Speaker 1: seventy six million that Jimbo had to be paid, and
- 2:34Speaker 1: my richardson high math tells me Scot Woodward's on the
- 2:37Speaker 1: hook for one hundred and thirty million dollars worth of
- 2:41Speaker 1: coaching contracts. LSU offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan's
- 2:48Speaker 1: been fired.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Tight ends.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Coach run game coordinator Alex Atkins was OC at Florida
- 2:57Speaker 1: State and Charlotte.
- 2:59Speaker 3: We'll call plays for LSU. They haven't been very good.
- 3:01Speaker 1: One hundred and twenty four in the country, rushing ninety
- 3:05Speaker 1: one in the country in red zone efficiency, eighty three
- 3:10Speaker 1: in the country in points per game. Texas quarterback Arch
- 3:15Speaker 1: Manning in concussion protocol, according to head coach Steve Sarkesian,
- 3:20Speaker 1: did not practice today, said there would be an update
- 3:24Speaker 1: later in the week if he can't play against number
- 3:28Speaker 1: nine Vanderbilt. Saturday grad transfer Matthew Caldwell, who has seen
- 3:33Speaker 1: very spot duty but through the winning touchdown pass and
- 3:38Speaker 1: overtime Saturday, would replace Manning as the starter World Series
- 3:45Speaker 1: Game three tonight.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Did y'all know there was a World Series going on?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Anybody around here know there's a World Series going on?
- 3:54Speaker 1: That's thought I'd throw that out And if you want
- 3:58Speaker 1: to see some entertainment, Mad Max Scherzer is starting for
- 4:03Speaker 1: the Blue Jays tonight. The entertainment starts when the manager
- 4:07Speaker 1: comes to take him out of the game. Glass now
- 4:12Speaker 1: is on the mound for the Dodgers. That series is
- 4:15Speaker 1: tied at one up. They're three games now in LA.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Today is a sports equinox. It is the rarest type
- 4:28Speaker 1: of day. All four major professional American sports are in
- 4:35Speaker 1: action tonight Baseball, football, hockey, NBA. The first time ever
- 4:46Speaker 1: was October seventeenth, nineteen seventy one, when the Pirates beat
- 4:50Speaker 1: the Orioles in Game seven of the World Series. With
- 4:58Speaker 1: the twenty twenty five World Series schedule play Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday.
- 5:03Speaker 1: If you know it goes that far, there won't be
- 5:08Speaker 1: another sports equinox until next October. The Mets are hiring
- 5:17Speaker 1: former Astros hitting coach Troy Snitker, thirty six.
- 5:24Speaker 3: He was seven years with the Astros.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Apparently forgot how to teach hitting this year, son of
- 5:33Speaker 1: former Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker, and Himan's basketball had
- 5:40Speaker 1: an exhibition game yesterday and they beat Arizona State ninety
- 5:46Speaker 1: five eighty seven in Fort Bend. Zach Clementz was the
- 5:54Speaker 1: leading scorer with twenty points. And let me see, I
- 6:00Speaker 1: didn't I went to the scrimmage the other night, but
- 6:03Speaker 1: I didn't see the Obviously, Frederico Federico Tech Transfer had eleven,
- 6:09Speaker 1: Ryland Griffin Alabama Transfer had sixteen, and Pop Isaacs did
- 6:19Speaker 1: not play, and the Dallas Mavericks have announced they are
- 6:27Speaker 1: going to retire the jersey of their first ever number
- 6:33Speaker 1: one overall draft pick in nineteen eighty one, Mark Aguire.
- 6:40Speaker 1: It took a while, but number twenty four will be
- 6:45Speaker 1: raised to the rafters at the AAC on January twenty ninth.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Mark Aguire from DePaul, Who's a heck of a player
- 6:57Speaker 1: and came close, came close to getting to the championship,
- 7:02Speaker 1: but those pesky Lakers got in the way. Let me
- 7:11Speaker 1: tell you about Oh by the way, we're going to
- 7:14Speaker 1: give away our weekly Friday's Fearless Prize tomorrow. I'm going
- 7:24Speaker 1: to be visiting with Paul Myers. You may know his
- 7:29Speaker 1: brother Mike Myers from All Kinds of Movies and Saturday
- 7:37Speaker 1: Night Live. But Paul Myers has written a biography on
- 7:43Speaker 1: the late great John Candy, called John Candy a Life
- 7:47Speaker 1: in Comedy. We're going to be visiting with him tomorrow.
- 7:50Speaker 1: This afternoon, the coordinators held little media Q and A
- 8:00Speaker 1: so we'll here throughout the week from Colin Klein and
- 8:03Speaker 1: Jay Bateman. So we got that going on for us,
- 8:08Speaker 1: which is nice. All right, We've got stuff to do
- 8:14Speaker 1: We're going to hear from Coach Elko postgame on Saturday.
- 8:19Speaker 1: We are going to give away a nice prize for
- 8:24Speaker 1: our weekly Friday's Fearless Forecast winner. I have received a

- 10:04Speaker 6: You know, it's funny, I said to myself before I
- 10:07Speaker 6: came here. I was like, Man, qualifying doesn't matter as
- 10:10Speaker 6: much as it normally does for us because we don't
- 10:12Speaker 6: really need the stage points.
- 10:13Speaker 7: So maybe that was the key.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean honestly, for me, I was like, if
- 10:16Speaker 6: I qualify twentieth, right, Like, as long as I keep
- 10:19Speaker 6: my nose clean and have a good enough car to
- 10:21Speaker 6: drive through the field, I should be okay.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Eliminated our Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and Chase Elliott,

- 12:56Speaker 14: Alfurd about to catch a flight and I missed my
- 13:00Speaker 14: taking your.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Calling as well as it should be, my friend. Hey,
- 13:07Speaker 1: if you're gonna play the contest, you got to make sacrifices.

- 13:28Speaker 13: Last.
- 13:30Speaker 15: Some times you haven't and sometimes you don't.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Hey, where are you on the on the overall leader board?
- 13:37Speaker 1: I don't think I know the.
- 13:39Speaker 16: Top There was one week I only got one of them.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Right, Oh my gosh.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Well, hey, it's better to be lucky than good. That's
- 13:46Speaker 1: what I say every day, Shannon, thanks for playing the feud.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna put you on hold.
- 13:52Speaker 1: We'll tell you how to pick up your barbecue certificate
- 13:54Speaker 1: and maybe we'll talk later this year.
- 13:58Speaker 17: Sounds good.
- 13:59Speaker 18: Appreciate it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Thanks man, you're the one. Okay, that's shitnon Caldwell. Here
- 14:05Speaker 1: is our week nine winner, Week ten picks.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah I got seven. Oh you're nine away.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Oh he's nine off, I'm ten off. Here's this week's picks.
- 14:17Speaker 1: The formerly largest world's.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Outdoor cocktail party.
- 14:22Speaker 1: They can't call it that anymore, but Georgia and Florida
- 14:24Speaker 1: playing in Jacksonville.
- 14:26Speaker 3: That's our excuse me, well, that's our tie breaker.
- 14:29Speaker 9: I got.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I got choked up just thinking about it, Ellison and Rudder,
- 14:36Speaker 1: Hayes and Nam Consolidated, Vanderbilt in Texas, Miami, SMU USC Nebraska, Navy,
- 14:43Speaker 1: North Texas, Texas Tech, and Kansas State, Cincinnati and Utah
- 14:49Speaker 1: and the Broncos and the Texans. Those ten games are
- 14:54Speaker 1: on the board. It is already week number ten. Very
- 15:00Speaker 1: careful when you submit your picks. Apparently there's some listeners
- 15:03Speaker 1: who don't know how Freddy's Fearless Football Forecast contests. You
- 15:08Speaker 1: have until Friday at five o'clock to submit your picks.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Brought to you by Swerneman Flooring and Chad Jones Law.
- 15:20Speaker 1: All right, we're going to do this because it is
- 15:26Speaker 1: an off week. Coach Elko did not meet with the
- 15:28Speaker 1: media today. The coordinators did, however, and we're glad for
- 15:33Speaker 1: that and we will hear from them throughout the week.
- 15:36Speaker 3: They had plenty to say.
- 15:37Speaker 1: It was fun listening to the coordinators and Colin Kline,
- 15:44Speaker 1: Jay Bateman, and right now let's hear postgame from Mike
- 15:48Speaker 1: Elko and Baton Rouge.
- 15:51Speaker 19: Yeah, obviously, really proud of our team. Five trade SEC wins.
- 15:55Speaker 19: That's not easy to do. Winning back to back road
- 15:57Speaker 19: games in this conference. That's not easy. To do and
- 16:01Speaker 19: you know, said a lot of marks tonight. I think
- 16:03Speaker 19: the last two years now, in the second half against LSU,
- 16:06Speaker 19: we outscored them sixty six to six. That'll win you
- 16:09Speaker 19: a lot of football games. I think that's a testament
- 16:11Speaker 19: to coach Moffatt, what he does with these guys, how
- 16:14Speaker 19: he trains them, and then I think a little bit
- 16:16Speaker 19: how they feel about him when we play this game.
- 16:19Speaker 19: And so proud of our group, proud of what we did,
- 16:22Speaker 19: went out there and made a lot of players to
- 16:23Speaker 19: win a football game. And so we'll enjoy this by
- 16:25Speaker 19: week and then get back to work and get ready
- 16:27Speaker 19: to finish.
- 16:30Speaker 12: First of all, what mat What message did you have
- 16:34Speaker 12: at halftime for you gus come out after closing the
- 16:38Speaker 12: first half the way you.
- 16:39Speaker 19: Do in the dominant Yeah, I just I told him,
- 16:42Speaker 19: I said, you're the better team, but you have to
- 16:43Speaker 19: play better football. Uh and if you don't play better football,
- 16:46Speaker 19: you're gonna let one slip away tonight. That's honestly what
- 16:48Speaker 19: I told him at halftime. I said, we gotta stop
- 16:50Speaker 19: committing penalties. We got to stop short seut from our drives,
- 16:53Speaker 19: we got to stop missing tackles. We got to step
- 16:55Speaker 19: up and we got to tackle people. And I thought,
- 16:57Speaker 19: you know, obviously we went out and we got a
- 16:58Speaker 19: good start to the second half, and I think we
- 17:00Speaker 19: got the momentum and then the pump return really put
- 17:03Speaker 19: us up and started to play from the front, and
- 17:05Speaker 19: I thought we had a big advantage at that point.
- 17:06Speaker 20: And we know you weren't involved in a lot of these
- 17:08Speaker 20: losses over this.
- 17:09Speaker 21: Long street, but I wasn't.
- 17:11Speaker 9: Yeah, but any talks of feelings.
- 17:13Speaker 14: Emotions that you just shared that you might have for
- 17:17Speaker 14: putting an end of this.
- 17:18Speaker 19: For these Yeah, again, like I keep saying this, it's
- 17:22Speaker 19: not about the past. We got to stop like worrying
- 17:24Speaker 19: about the past, thinking about the past, talking about the past.
- 17:27Speaker 19: I'm excited for what this team is doing right now.
- 17:29Speaker 19: This team is doing some really special things. I think
- 17:32Speaker 19: we should enjoy it. I think we should stop focusing
- 17:34Speaker 19: on last year. I think we should I answered three
- 17:36Speaker 19: questions on our Wednesday media call about last year, Like
- 17:39Speaker 19: I just I don't understand why we can't just enjoy
- 17:42Speaker 19: what's happening. We should enjoy what's happening or it ain't
- 17:44Speaker 19: no football team.
- 17:46Speaker 21: There a special message to the team this week because of.
- 17:51Speaker 19: No I mean I don't think anything needs to be said.
- 17:53Speaker 19: I think every everybody kind of understands that.
- 17:55Speaker 22: One what frustrated you the most in the second quarter,
- 17:58Speaker 22: but what impressed you the most in.
- 17:59Speaker 9: The third were able to turn around?
- 18:01Speaker 19: Yeah, obviously, you know, again a little bit like what
- 18:04Speaker 19: happened at Notre Dame. You know, when you write up
- 18:06Speaker 19: a script of how to go win in a hostile environment,
- 18:09Speaker 19: you don't give up a block punt, you don't turn
- 18:11Speaker 19: the ball over twice, you don't miss tackles, you don't
- 18:13Speaker 19: commit a personal foul penally that extends a drive that
- 18:16Speaker 19: leads to points.
- 18:17Speaker 23: None of those things should be on that script.
- 18:19Speaker 19: And so I just felt like we we maybe were
- 18:22Speaker 19: a little bit too into the emotions of it all,
- 18:24Speaker 19: weren't handling our emotions the right way, weren't focusing on
- 18:27Speaker 19: the things that we needed to focus on.
- 18:28Speaker 23: And I thought in the second half we did. I
- 18:30Speaker 23: thought in the second half we.
- 18:31Speaker 19: Played clean football, we played in mistake free football, and
- 18:35Speaker 19: I think when we do that, we're really good.
- 18:39Speaker 21: Since joining the SEC, what kind of statement is this
- 18:41Speaker 21: for your program?
- 18:42Speaker 19: We're not making statements. We're just happy we won. We're
- 18:45Speaker 19: excited to go into the BI week.
- 18:46Speaker 24: What is it about this teams that you see the
- 18:48Speaker 24: bible to the adversity time to time again.
- 18:51Speaker 21: And what does the makeup allow them?
- 18:54Speaker 19: I just I think there's a togetherness in there. I
- 18:56Speaker 19: think those kids believe in who they are and what
- 18:59Speaker 19: they're capable. I think they believe in each other. I
- 19:02Speaker 19: think you've seen that, and it's probably been the one
- 19:04Speaker 19: thing that of all the things that have been somewhat
- 19:06Speaker 19: inconsistent over these eight games, the one thing that has
- 19:09Speaker 19: been consistent is how those kids will play the game
- 19:11Speaker 19: however it needs to be played to come out and win.
- 19:14Speaker 19: And tonight maybe in the second half was the first
- 19:17Speaker 19: time both sides of the ball were really clicking together,
- 19:20Speaker 19: and I think you saw what that could look like
- 19:21Speaker 19: for us.
- 19:23Speaker 10: It seemed like you were able to really dominate the
- 19:25Speaker 10: line of Stummis tonight.
- 19:27Speaker 21: Just talk about what you.
- 19:27Speaker 9: Were able to do.
- 19:29Speaker 19: Yeah, we knew that was going to be critical. Obviously,
- 19:31Speaker 19: he's a really talented quarterback. He gotten a little bit
- 19:33Speaker 19: of a rhythm on that first to score and drive
- 19:35Speaker 19: for them, and you know, in order to get him
- 19:37Speaker 19: out of that rhythm, we were gonna have to pressure him.
- 19:39Speaker 19: And I thought our Diline did a really really good
- 19:40Speaker 19: job of that.
- 19:42Speaker 9: Mars Reed hasn't. We haven't seen the struggle like that
- 19:45Speaker 9: this year in that second quarter of the series.
- 19:46Speaker 22: What does it say about him his response individually of
- 19:50Speaker 22: the game that.
- 19:51Speaker 1: He ended up having.
- 19:52Speaker 19: Yeah, I mean he's a competitor. I think he's got
- 19:54Speaker 19: a lot of confidence in himself. He's got a lot
- 19:56Speaker 19: of We have a lot of confidence in him. I
- 19:57Speaker 19: don't think we changed how we called the game. You know,
- 20:00Speaker 19: we were still very comfortable putting the ball in his hands.
- 20:02Speaker 19: You know, he obviously they fooled him a little bit
- 20:04Speaker 19: on the one in the in the end zone. I
- 20:06Speaker 19: think he give him a look he wasn't quite ready
- 20:07Speaker 19: to see. And then the other one was a tip
- 20:10Speaker 19: ball and those are kind of hard. But yeah, I
- 20:12Speaker 19: think we have a ton of confidence in him and
- 20:14Speaker 19: where he's going.
- 20:15Speaker 23: Can we do this? Can we raise our hand and Kat?
- 20:17Speaker 23: Can you run this like a press conference?
- 20:19Speaker 21: Sam Mike uh mistakes aside.
- 20:23Speaker 22: Twenty four point road win over quality opponent, defense had
- 20:26Speaker 22: its ever off.
- 20:27Speaker 9: It's a lot of explosive. Is this the most complete
- 20:28Speaker 9: effort rou team that's.
- 20:29Speaker 21: Given this year? In opinion?
- 20:30Speaker 23: Yeah, I think so. I think so.
- 20:31Speaker 19: I think it's the first time for really extended periods
- 20:35Speaker 19: of time, you would say, the first quarter, the third quarter,
- 20:37Speaker 19: the fourth quarter, both sides of the ball were playing really,
- 20:39Speaker 19: really well. You know, we had a really bad second
- 20:41Speaker 19: quarter that we had to overcome. But I think, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 19: for three of the four quarters tonight, I thought both
- 20:46Speaker 19: sides of the ball were functioned at a really high level.
- 20:48Speaker 21: Those are reaching your ceiling in terms of what this team.
- 20:51Speaker 19: Can do, probably probably still got a ways to go.
- 20:54Speaker 19: And I think that's how we want to think about it.
- 20:56Speaker 19: We want to continue to be in a growth mindset.
- 20:58Speaker 19: We want to continue to grow every single week. And
- 21:01Speaker 19: you know, again we we We've said this repeatedly. You know,
- 21:03Speaker 19: we have bigger aspirations for where we can go than
- 21:06Speaker 19: anybody else. And so as we win, I think other
- 21:09Speaker 19: people will catch up.
- 21:11Speaker 21: Same Like Adam, like.
- 21:12Speaker 1: The explosive element, whether it's Marcel or Mario or Casey.
- 21:17Speaker 25: How much is that kind of in your DNA this year?
- 21:21Speaker 19: Yeah, I think that's that's the biggest thing that we
- 21:24Speaker 19: talked about having to do to flip where we were
- 21:27Speaker 19: trying to go. I think if you look at the
- 21:30Speaker 19: teams that have won the sec the teams that have
- 21:32Speaker 19: gone far in the playoffs, they have explosive playmakers on
- 21:36Speaker 19: offense that can take a game over. And we felt
- 21:39Speaker 19: like it was critical when I took over that we
- 21:41Speaker 19: added those elements. It was really really important. And so
- 21:45Speaker 19: now we have them. We have a lot of them.
- 21:47Speaker 19: We have them in the backfield, we have them at
- 21:48Speaker 19: wide receiver, we have them at quarterback. With the ball
- 21:50Speaker 19: in his hands every play, and I think that makes
- 21:52Speaker 19: us a really challenging offense to defend because we can
- 21:55Speaker 19: come at you so many different ways.
- 21:57Speaker 26: Right, Coach return a little bit, but to have a
- 22:02Speaker 26: turn for a touchdown, what does that do for the
- 22:04Speaker 26: team and what is it new to your team to
- 22:07Speaker 26: have that in your arsenal?
- 22:08Speaker 19: Yeah, I think obviously he's an extremely talented kid with
- 22:11Speaker 19: the ball in his hands, and and so I think
- 22:13Speaker 19: you've seen that quite a few times this year with his.
- 22:15Speaker 23: Ability to do that.
- 22:17Speaker 19: Those kids are blocking really hard for him because they
- 22:20Speaker 19: know if we can just get them a little bit
- 22:22Speaker 19: of space, he's gonna go. And obviously at the point
- 22:25Speaker 19: at which that happened, I think it pushed the lead
- 22:26Speaker 19: out to.
- 22:27Speaker 23: Three scores and was a critical point in the game.
- 22:31Speaker 27: Yeah, the drive right after halftime, like, uh, ninth plays
- 22:34Speaker 27: eight of them runs?
- 22:35Speaker 5: How much did establish and run you feel like, kind
- 22:37Speaker 5: of reset the offense for the second.
- 22:38Speaker 23: Half, say that one more time. We had eight runs
- 22:41Speaker 23: out of nine. I don't even think I realized that.
- 22:45Speaker 19: Yeah, Yeah, I think I think we you know, they
- 22:48Speaker 19: played us a little bit differently, maybe than they thought
- 22:49Speaker 19: we thought they would. I think we went in and
- 22:52Speaker 19: we didn't establish the run particularly well on the first half.
- 22:54Speaker 19: I know we made some adjustments with some of the
- 22:56Speaker 19: ways we were trying to attack him in the run game,
- 22:58Speaker 19: and I think we were able to get it going.
- 23:01Speaker 23: More consistently in the second half, and we didn't want to.
- 23:04Speaker 19: I think one of the things we always try to
- 23:06Speaker 19: avoid is being two one dimensional, and I felt like
- 23:09Speaker 19: in the first half we were putting a lot of
- 23:10Speaker 19: pressure on Marcel to throw the ball a lot, and
- 23:13Speaker 19: so I didn't realize.
- 23:14Speaker 23: It was eight out of nine and that wasn't the plan.
- 23:16Speaker 19: But we did have a We did go in and
- 23:18Speaker 19: talk a lot of halftime about trying to come up
- 23:20Speaker 19: with some runs that would be able to move the chains.
- 23:23Speaker 21: Obviously, thirty five runs you're going to get a lot
- 23:25Speaker 21: of attention on the.
- 23:26Speaker 15: Offense because the defense really clamped down after halftime. Is
- 23:29Speaker 15: there any adjustment speed or did they just started doing
- 23:32Speaker 15: of the things that you expected them.
- 23:34Speaker 9: To do from the go.
- 23:35Speaker 19: Yeah, we tweaked a little bit. They were hurting us
- 23:37Speaker 19: a lot with some of their cracks and they were
- 23:39Speaker 19: able to crack our dbs and get the ball out
- 23:41Speaker 19: on our corners and that was most of the runs
- 23:44Speaker 19: that got out were of a similar makeup, and so
- 23:47Speaker 19: I think we made some adjustments to how we were
- 23:49Speaker 19: fitting some things that helped. Uh And again, like it,
- 23:52Speaker 19: it's when you play football like that though, it changes
- 23:54Speaker 19: the game.
- 23:55Speaker 23: I think the game changed so much.
- 23:57Speaker 19: You know, we went out scored, got to stop score,
- 24:00Speaker 19: got to stop, ran back a punt right, and that
- 24:02Speaker 19: sequence of everything just that changes the course of the game.
- 24:06Speaker 19: And then we were able to play up, play up
- 24:07Speaker 19: play from a lead, and then we could tee off
- 24:09Speaker 19: on the quarterback and it made it really really hard
- 24:11Speaker 19: for them.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Gentlemen, Mark, you said this week that the reality a
- 24:17Speaker 1: division of the program overall.
- 24:19Speaker 9: I wonder how much this way had advanced.
- 24:21Speaker 21: That that goal.
- 24:25Speaker 19: Yeah, it certainly seems like it. There's some new faces
- 24:27Speaker 19: in the room over here, and no, I joke. I'm
- 24:30Speaker 19: just joking. That's just just a joke, just a joke,
- 24:33Speaker 19: just a joke.
- 24:34Speaker 23: You got to handle my sarcasm. Yeah, I don't know that.
- 24:38Speaker 19: I don't know that it's anything more than just we
- 24:41Speaker 19: want to be a program that achieves things we want to,
- 24:44Speaker 19: not be a program that talks about what we want
- 24:46Speaker 19: to achieve, what we should achieve, what we're capable of achieving.
- 24:49Speaker 19: We've just talked consistently since I've gotten here about being
- 24:52Speaker 19: a program that does the things it needs to do
- 24:54Speaker 19: to go out and accomplish things right, And that doesn't
- 24:57Speaker 19: guarantee you success, but that's a het of a starting point,
- 25:00Speaker 19: and I think what you're seeing a little.
- 25:01Speaker 23: Bit is the culmination of that.
- 25:04Speaker 9: Right.
- 25:04Speaker 19: A group of kids who understands there's a lot of
- 25:06Speaker 19: work that goes into being successful, is willing to put
- 25:08Speaker 19: in the work and do the things they need to do,
- 25:10Speaker 19: and then is willing to go out and fight with
- 25:12Speaker 19: each other for three and a half hours to get
- 25:13Speaker 19: the result that they want.
- 25:15Speaker 15: Yeah, it's not deathbell out a little bit early, but
- 25:19Speaker 15: traveling student sections stayed until the very last day.
- 25:21Speaker 19: What does that make you Yeah, unbelievable amount of support.
- 25:25Speaker 19: And I can't say that I ever envisioned that many
- 25:29Speaker 19: Aggis in the stadium relative to that many Tiger fans.
- 25:32Speaker 19: And so thank you to everybody again, Uh who represents
- 25:36Speaker 19: the twelfth Man. I think we're starting to travel a
- 25:39Speaker 19: little bit more. I think the fans are starting to
- 25:41Speaker 19: get a little bit behind what we've got going on.
- 25:43Speaker 19: That's great to see. Uh, we're gonna need them up
- 25:45Speaker 19: in Missouri in a couple of weeks. And so buy
- 25:48Speaker 19: your tickets, get on a car ride, get on a plane,
- 25:50Speaker 19: and let's go pack Missouri.
- 25:53Speaker 22: That's just want to ask, what do you feel like
- 25:54Speaker 22: the biggest thing you've learned about your team in iss
- 25:56Speaker 22: five and stretched to start conference plays then? And do
- 25:59Speaker 22: you feel like this this second by week maybe comes
- 26:01Speaker 22: at a good time for you guys?
- 26:02Speaker 19: Yeah, I think it's for sure a good time. I
- 26:04Speaker 19: think five SEC games in a row is hard. I
- 26:06Speaker 19: bet if you guys looked up, there probably hasn't been
- 26:08Speaker 19: a lot of teams that have won five straight SEC
- 26:10Speaker 19: games week week. We I don't know how many times
- 26:12Speaker 19: that's really happened without a buye, without playing a non
- 26:15Speaker 19: conference game. It takes a physical toll on you. And
- 26:19Speaker 19: so it's gonna come at a good time. You know,
- 26:21Speaker 19: we're gonna be able to give some rest to the
- 26:22Speaker 19: guys who played a lot of football, We're going to
- 26:24Speaker 19: get some work for the guys who haven't, and then
- 26:26Speaker 19: as the back end of the week goes, we'll start
- 26:28Speaker 19: flipping our attention over to Missouri.
- 26:31Speaker 21: So close. Were you surprised at all, surprise or something?
- 26:42Speaker 19: You know, it's hard to say you expected, certainly believe
- 26:44Speaker 19: this is what we were capable of. You know, I
- 26:46Speaker 19: wouldn't sit here on a podium and tell you, oh,
- 26:48Speaker 19: I absolutely expected this to happen the way it did.
- 26:51Speaker 23: But I certainly knew we were capable of it.
- 26:53Speaker 19: And I knew if we would commit to doing the
- 26:55Speaker 19: things we needed to do week in, week out, if
- 26:57Speaker 19: we would commit to playing the game consistently with each other.
- 27:01Speaker 19: I knew we had a talented roster. I knew we
- 27:03Speaker 19: were significantly more talented than we were last year. And
- 27:06Speaker 19: so yeah, so far, so good.
- 27:10Speaker 9: They're twenty and.
- 27:11Speaker 20: One under b K in nineteen t years.
- 27:12Speaker 19: It's hard when you're obviously twenty and two.
- 27:17Speaker 21: You saw how loud it gets when you got in.
- 27:20Speaker 22: That second quarter of how proud are you the poison
- 27:22Speaker 22: your team?
- 27:23Speaker 9: And how much does it mean to get a win?
- 27:25Speaker 9: And it's hard to get a win.
- 27:26Speaker 23: Yeah, it's a really hard place to win.
- 27:28Speaker 19: And I think you know, I don't I still don't
- 27:31Speaker 19: know that nationally there's a complete understanding of what it's
- 27:36Speaker 19: like in these sec away venues. And it's no disrespect
- 27:39Speaker 19: to any other conference, but you know, it's just different,
- 27:42Speaker 19: and the atmosphere of the environment. You know, when all
- 27:45Speaker 19: of a sudden they get some momentum and you know,
- 27:47Speaker 19: the wheels start rolling, and it's hard places to play
- 27:51Speaker 19: in this conference. Play a night game in Tiger Stadium
- 27:53Speaker 19: is a challenge, as evidence by the fact that I
- 27:55Speaker 19: told the kids this the other day. I was the
- 27:57Speaker 19: starting point guard on my high school basketball team in
- 28:00Speaker 19: the last time we won here. And so if that's
- 28:03Speaker 19: if that's any indication of how challenging it is to
- 28:06Speaker 19: win here, you could put that image in your mind.
- 28:08Speaker 23: Sam, and right about that, talk.
- 28:12Speaker 21: About Mary first.
- 28:14Speaker 9: You know, the best team you know this always check
- 28:16Speaker 9: a lot of different boxes that they could do resily and.
- 28:19Speaker 21: Get much physicalized, primage explosive.
- 28:23Speaker 9: Let mabe, how where are you guys?
- 28:24Speaker 5: Right now.
- 28:25Speaker 9: As far as being able to check all.
- 28:26Speaker 19: The boxes, yeah, I think I think we're very capable
- 28:30Speaker 19: of checking them all. I think over the course of
- 28:32Speaker 19: these eight games, you've seen us check everything. You know,
- 28:35Speaker 19: We've We've won because we've had to score a lot
- 28:37Speaker 19: of points. We've won because we had to stop people
- 28:40Speaker 19: a lot in second halves and in the fourth quarter.
- 28:42Speaker 23: You've seen us not handle first.
- 28:44Speaker 19: Hals particularly well and come out and play really good
- 28:47Speaker 19: second halves. You've seen people take the momentum of the
- 28:50Speaker 19: game and us take it back. And so I think
- 28:53Speaker 19: we are capable of checking a lot of boxes if
- 28:57Speaker 19: we'll commit to continuing to do things that we have
- 29:00Speaker 19: to do to go out and be successful.
- 29:01Speaker 23: Weekend and recount.
- 29:03Speaker 1: That's Mike Elico postgame baton Rouge on Saturday evening. We
- 29:09Speaker 1: will visit with the writers coming up in thirty minutes.
- 29:14Speaker 1: We're going to hear from Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkesian, Marcel
- 29:18Speaker 1: Reid before we're finished this hour and get to the
- 29:23Speaker 1: writers in the second hour of the program.
- 29:26Speaker 3: So we got a lot going on and the writers.
- 29:33Speaker 1: We've had this mantra since we've been together, and it's

- 33:01Speaker 3: Long glad to have you with us here on a
- 33:05Speaker 3: you thing.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Let you see one thing Monday.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Yeah, we got the writers coming up here in thirty minutes. Yeah. Yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 1: So earlier today, Steve Sarkisian announced that Arch Manning is
- 33:21Speaker 1: in concussion protocol.
- 33:24Speaker 9: Coach did Arch practice this morning?
- 33:26Speaker 3: He did not.
- 33:27Speaker 27: He's he's in protocol right now. We'll have more information
- 33:31Speaker 27: as we.
- 33:32Speaker 30: Gooes sark I guess with Arching in the protocol, this
- 33:36Speaker 30: is first time Caldwell's worked with the Ones on a Monday.
- 33:39Speaker 30: What have you seen from him and what's the challenges
- 33:41Speaker 30: of even a veteran working with the Ones for the
- 33:44Speaker 30: first time.
- 33:44Speaker 27: Well, I think that the good thing for Matt. He's
- 33:47Speaker 27: a very even keel guy. I thought he had a
- 33:49Speaker 27: great practice today. I think, you know, the players have
- 33:52Speaker 27: a lot of confidence in him. I think it's his maturity,
- 33:55Speaker 27: his approach. You know, he's very engaged even when he
- 33:59Speaker 27: does play. If you ever watched our sidelines in game eighteen,
- 34:04Speaker 27: is probably the most engaged player on that sidelines. He's
- 34:07Speaker 27: always picking guys up offense, defense, special teams, you know,
- 34:11Speaker 27: and so he's got a really good relationship with the guys,
- 34:14Speaker 27: and so I don't think it's like, well, who's this guy.
- 34:16Speaker 27: You know, he's in a lot of faces a lot
- 34:18Speaker 27: of the times, and so it felt very comfortable.
- 34:20Speaker 23: I felt very normal today. I thought the bigger thing.
- 34:22Speaker 27: For today was that kJ Lacey got reps with the twos,
- 34:25Speaker 27: and I thought that was that was really good for him.
- 34:27Speaker 27: You know, he's a very talented player who's been growing
- 34:29Speaker 27: and getting better, so it was fun for us to
- 34:31Speaker 27: see him get more reps today.
- 34:33Speaker 17: It's kind of the same thing, just what what did
- 34:35Speaker 17: you like about Caldwell when you when you brought him
- 34:38Speaker 17: in here?
- 34:38Speaker 31: What has he shown you and how much confidence do
- 34:40Speaker 31: you have in him?
- 34:42Speaker 23: You know, I think like to the point.
- 34:44Speaker 27: You know, he's a guy that has been in a
- 34:47Speaker 27: variety of systems. He has athleticism. If it was a
- 34:51Speaker 27: really good ball. What I liked about him on his
- 34:55Speaker 27: visit was probably the biggest thing was just his demeanor,
- 34:58Speaker 27: you know, his approach to it. It didn't seem too
- 35:01Speaker 27: big for him here. He didn't feel entitled by any means.
- 35:05Speaker 27: He was a guy who just wanted an opportunity, and
- 35:07Speaker 27: that's what we were looking for, a guy who had
- 35:09Speaker 27: taken some snaps in college football. And then that's how
- 35:12Speaker 27: he's performed, you know, since the day he got here.
- 35:14Speaker 27: That's the way he's worked at it throughout camp and
- 35:17Speaker 27: throughout the season, and he's making the most of his opportunities.
- 35:19Speaker 27: He's played well every time that we've put him in
- 35:22Speaker 27: the game, you know, whether it's been at the end
- 35:23Speaker 27: of games with the long runs, with the passes, whether
- 35:27Speaker 27: it's been at Florida where he had to come in
- 35:29Speaker 27: and throw a ball to Ryan Wingo on an in cut,
- 35:32Speaker 27: whether it was this game. And so you know, what
- 35:34Speaker 27: gives me confidence is who he's been, you know, and
- 35:37Speaker 27: so feel very comfortable with Matt whenever he's in the ballgame.
- 35:41Speaker 9: The guy seemed to gravitate to him when he comes in,
- 35:44Speaker 9: and he's come in under some adverse situations. Do you
- 35:50Speaker 9: feel that from the other guys when he's in there.
- 35:53Speaker 27: Yeah, I think what he's done is earned the respect
- 35:55Speaker 27: of his teammates. Like I said, I think his demeanor,
- 35:58Speaker 27: who he is as a teammate. I think his relationship
- 36:01Speaker 27: with Arch is very important to that. I think I
- 36:04Speaker 27: think they have a lot of respect for him that way.
- 36:06Speaker 27: And then you know, when you when you produce, you
- 36:08Speaker 27: get respect too. Because his teammates know that's not easy,
- 36:11Speaker 27: you know, to come in off the bench and to
- 36:13Speaker 27: do what he's done in a couple of different games.
- 36:15Speaker 27: And so uh, they respect the fact that that he's prepared,
- 36:18Speaker 27: that he's ready, and that the moment's not too big
- 36:21Speaker 27: for him. You know, he's and so and I think
- 36:24Speaker 27: he's got great rapport with the guys, like I really do.
- 36:27Speaker 27: I just think he's an awesome teammate with these guys,
- 36:29Speaker 27: and so uh, they enjoy they enjoy seeing him have
- 36:33Speaker 27: that success in celebrating with him.
- 36:35Speaker 1: All right, That was Sarkesia on his new quarterback apparently
- 36:39Speaker 1: for Saturday. That's it depends I guess on the concussion
- 36:43Speaker 1: deal about Manning. Texas is hosting Vanderbilt at eleven a m.
- 36:49Speaker 3: On Saturday morning.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Ole miss the rebels of Lane Kiffin went to Oklahoma,
- 36:58Speaker 1: and I still not understanding why Oklahoma was a favorite
- 37:06Speaker 1: in that game. I still don't get that. But you know,
- 37:12Speaker 1: Las Vegas doesn't miss too often, but they missed this one.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin is on every now that the LSU job
- 37:21Speaker 1: is open. I think Lane Kiffin is on everyone's list
- 37:26Speaker 1: in America except for probably Texas, A and M.
- 37:31Speaker 3: I don't think they're going to be trading coach Elco
- 37:35Speaker 3: for Lane Kiffin.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin visited with Pat McAfee today on his show.
- 37:41Speaker 24: We just talked about the big story coming out of
- 37:43Speaker 24: this weekend, not you guys getting a huge win over Oklahoma,
- 37:46Speaker 24: not Vandy obviously solidifying being a powerhouse at this point
- 37:50Speaker 24: with all eyes on them getting a huge win over Missouri.
- 37:52Speaker 24: The big story is obviously another coach fired at a
- 37:55Speaker 24: massive place. Your name gets brought up for all of
- 37:58Speaker 24: these things. How do you handle that a team? How
- 38:01Speaker 24: do you talk about it? Because obviously you said they
- 38:03Speaker 24: see everything. What is your kind of you know, communication
- 38:07Speaker 24: with the team as all this kind of is happening
- 38:09Speaker 24: around you.
- 38:10Speaker 23: Coach.
- 38:11Speaker 32: Yeah, I usually don't talk about it with the team
- 38:13Speaker 32: because we've dealt with this for a number of years
- 38:16Speaker 32: because our players have performed really well and won a
- 38:18Speaker 32: lot of games here, and so this attention has come
- 38:22Speaker 32: with that. I just thought last week it was important
- 38:24Speaker 32: late in the week to address it on Friday, just
- 38:27Speaker 32: because we have so many new players, so they hadn't
- 38:30Speaker 32: been here you know, the year or the year before that,
- 38:32Speaker 32: where you know, these these job rumors and stuff would
- 38:35Speaker 32: come up, and so I just told them, hey, this
- 38:38Speaker 32: is a product of how you guys play, is why
- 38:40Speaker 32: they see the way that you play.
- 38:42Speaker 9: So then people are like fans like.
- 38:43Speaker 32: We want that system, and they say, coach, but really
- 38:47Speaker 32: it's the system of the players and the assistant coaches
- 38:49Speaker 32: and what a good job they do.
- 38:51Speaker 9: So I just want that's a compliment to them.
- 38:53Speaker 32: And I think it's easier for them nowadays because remember,
- 38:57Speaker 32: basically the same thing happens to them.
- 39:00Speaker 9: They have a good game.
- 39:01Speaker 32: What happens, you know, our freshman receiver has a good
- 39:03Speaker 32: game Saturday night, he's got three calls from places to
- 39:06Speaker 32: tell him, hey, come here, we'll give you more money,
- 39:08Speaker 32: you know, pre portaling, you know, before the portal opens,
- 39:11Speaker 32: that's what happens. And so they deal with this all
- 39:15Speaker 32: the time, places saying oh, come here, you'll get more
- 39:18Speaker 32: money because they're performing well.
- 39:20Speaker 9: So I don't think it's a big deal to them.
- 39:22Speaker 19: So you feel like the modern athlete a little bit
- 39:25Speaker 19: more entrepreneurial kind of understand the hype and also the
- 39:28Speaker 19: amount of kind of extra if that could take place
- 39:31Speaker 19: because they've been born and raised in it.
- 39:33Speaker 9: Is that kind of how you feel about it.
- 39:35Speaker 32: Yeah, And like I said, it happens to them where
- 39:37Speaker 32: before that would never happen in college. So the player,
- 39:41Speaker 32: you know, wouldn't have any examples of that in his
- 39:43Speaker 32: own life where it happens to them, got it And
- 39:47Speaker 32: and a lot of our guys were portal to come here,
- 39:49Speaker 32: and so they're used to that now.
- 39:51Speaker 9: It's just kind of the world that they live in.
- 39:53Speaker 33: Ag Yeah, coach, I don't imagine like behind the scenes,
- 39:56Speaker 33: you're a product of your own success. Obviously it's a
- 39:59Speaker 33: big compliment to you and team that everybody wants to
- 40:01Speaker 33: bring you in in your system. But I would imagine
- 40:03Speaker 33: there are a lot of like parents that see these
- 40:05Speaker 33: reports and call.
- 40:06Speaker 9: In and wonder what's going on with their kid.
- 40:08Speaker 23: On the roster.
- 40:08Speaker 33: Also recruits, like do you have to work on behind
- 40:10Speaker 33: the scenes stuff all the time when things like this
- 40:12Speaker 33: come up.
- 40:14Speaker 32: Probably not as much as you think, just because, like
- 40:18Speaker 32: I said, it's happened before, so guys on our roster
- 40:20Speaker 32: parents that they're familiar with it, and so not as
- 40:24Speaker 32: much as you think. And in recruiting, you know, we
- 40:28Speaker 32: just talk about the product that we put, the positions
- 40:32Speaker 32: that we put them into play, and the success that
- 40:34Speaker 32: we've had here, So we don't deal with it near
- 40:37Speaker 32: as much as you would think.
- 40:38Speaker 24: Yeah, I think this era, in this generation, you know,
- 40:41Speaker 24: just kind of understands it a lot more than maybe
- 40:43Speaker 24: back in the day because we've been exposed to more
- 40:45Speaker 24: of that now. On that note, you are different and
- 40:47Speaker 24: operate differently than everybody else, I think, which is why
- 40:50Speaker 24: so many people in so many schools are interested.
- 40:52Speaker 23: Go ahead, de Bud.
- 40:53Speaker 17: Yeah, absolutely, And we know from the outside looking in,
- 40:56Speaker 17: we can't hear all the talk going on between the
- 40:58Speaker 17: lines or maybe even on the sideline. There was some
- 41:00Speaker 17: interaction with you and an Oklahoma player after the game.
- 41:04Speaker 17: What kind of happened before the cameras caught you before
- 41:07Speaker 17: you got to that interview.
- 41:08Speaker 24: Here it is actually hold on one's second coach, Oh.
- 41:11Speaker 8: Are you talking a little bit to Oklahoma's players?
- 41:13Speaker 32: Got this guy yelled at me like during the game,
- 41:15Speaker 32: like five times, how great they were.
- 41:16Speaker 9: And we can't score on them.
- 41:19Speaker 23: I love that.
- 41:21Speaker 24: Obviously no other coach is doing that. So obviously incredible.
- 41:25Speaker 9: What was that?
- 41:25Speaker 23: How was that?
- 41:26Speaker 9: How'd we get to that point? Well, that.
- 41:31Speaker 32: Happens a lot, I think with me and players and
- 41:33Speaker 32: interaction and during the game, especially defensive players. You know
- 41:38Speaker 32: a lot of times they'll say things to me and
- 41:40Speaker 32: warm ups. I don't know, maybe they view me as
- 41:42Speaker 32: different as other coaches. They kind of talk to me
- 41:44Speaker 32: like they do a player. So I embrace it, probably
- 41:48Speaker 32: because I give it to them sometimes too. And so
- 41:52Speaker 32: he'd said a lot during the game, you know, when
- 41:53Speaker 32: he's on the sideline, you look at me like you
- 41:55Speaker 32: ain't gonna score all day, you know.
- 41:57Speaker 9: So I really wasn't trying to do it on camera.
- 41:59Speaker 32: And interesting enough, I've had a number of players transfer
- 42:04Speaker 32: over to years that said, Hey, one of the reasons
- 42:06Speaker 32: was we loved the way that you interacted with us.
- 42:09Speaker 32: On the other side, during the game, and we wanted
- 42:12Speaker 32: to play for a coach like that.
- 42:14Speaker 9: So I think our players actually love it.
- 42:17Speaker 1: The mercurial Lane Kiffin and A and M players know
- 42:23Speaker 1: about Lane Kiffin reacting to them on the sidelines as well.
- 42:29Speaker 1: That happened here, but it's the other team. It's it's
- 42:35Speaker 1: cute and it's your team. Probably not as much. We'll
- 42:38Speaker 1: take a break, we'll come back. We're gonna hear from
- 42:40Speaker 1: Marcel Reid after the Texans report presented by Oscar and
- 42:44Speaker 1: Sons and Citizens State Bank.
- 42:47Speaker 34: So you didn't see the trailer, other car, fence, and
- 42:54Speaker 34: now your vehicle needs bodywork, so you need Oscar and
- 42:57Speaker 34: Son's body shop. The family business has spent over four

- 43:17Speaker 18: The Houston Texans defeated the San Francisco forty nine ers
- 43:20Speaker 18: at home on Sunday by a score of twenty six
- 43:23Speaker 18: to fifteen.
- 43:23Speaker 7: They moved to three and four on the season.
- 43:25Speaker 18: Houston grabbed the momentum early with the Fast Stars scoring
- 43:28Speaker 18: the first sixteen points of the game, including this twelve
- 43:30Speaker 18: yard strike from CJ.
- 43:31Speaker 7: Stroud to Jayden Higgins.
- 43:33Speaker 18: Stroud working for six open touchdown shaded Higgins hit the
- 43:38Speaker 18: second of the year. Forty nine Ers scored late in
- 43:41Speaker 18: the second quarter make it sixteen seven, but a strong
- 43:43Speaker 18: second half defensively for the Texans helped preserve the win.
- 43:46Speaker 7: Head coach Tamiko Ryans.
- 43:47Speaker 31: Proud of all of our gosh with the way they
- 43:49Speaker 31: showed up and played today. This a truly complete game,
- 43:52Speaker 31: starting with the offense, the way we ran the football,
- 43:56Speaker 31: control of the line of scrimmage. Thought offensive line did
- 43:58Speaker 31: a great job. Able to control the ball at forty
- 44:01Speaker 31: one minutes, which is huge for us, and ran the
- 44:04Speaker 31: ball well. Cjhead an outstanding game just all around. You
- 44:07Speaker 31: talk about really good offensive performance.
- 44:09Speaker 35: Guys.

- 46:27Speaker 1: From Aggie quarterback Marcel Reid postgame from Saturday.
- 46:31Speaker 9: This is about the.
- 46:32Speaker 19: Halftime adjustment and you guys come out and just you
- 46:34Speaker 19: guys firing on all cylinders.
- 46:36Speaker 21: Is there something that said or is it just the
- 46:37Speaker 21: mindset switch?
- 46:38Speaker 18: What is it?
- 46:39Speaker 14: Oko definitely said some things. I can't really remember every detail.
- 46:44Speaker 14: It was aggressive though, for sure, but we were really
- 46:46Speaker 14: just kicking ourselves in the butt in the first half.
- 46:49Speaker 14: You know, first interception on me and going to a
- 46:52Speaker 14: different coverage we haven't seen them going to in the
- 46:54Speaker 14: red zone.
- 46:54Speaker 9: But play we.
- 46:55Speaker 14: Practice and I got to get my eyes back to
- 46:57Speaker 14: the day back, so I didn't do that, So I
- 46:59Speaker 14: turned inception there and then you know we had another
- 47:02Speaker 14: one and it was just a good play by man
- 47:04Speaker 14: sort of lane jumping up and tipping the ball up
- 47:06Speaker 14: harrow Perking's catching it. But yeah, you know, offensively and defensively,
- 47:11Speaker 14: you know, we were kind of giving it up to him.
- 47:13Speaker 14: And then we knew coming out in the second half we
- 47:14Speaker 14: were the better team. Uh they were only up four
- 47:17Speaker 14: after us really giving him the game with two turnovers
- 47:19Speaker 14: and a pump block.
- 47:21Speaker 9: Uh.
- 47:21Speaker 14: So you know, he just came out in the second
- 47:22Speaker 14: half and played our game responsible and you know got
- 47:26Speaker 14: the job done.
- 47:28Speaker 18: Eric.
- 47:28Speaker 14: What was going through your mind on the your touchdown
- 47:31Speaker 14: run in the first quarter, Just seeing the big open.
- 47:33Speaker 21: Hole was going through your mind as you were running down?
- 47:36Speaker 9: Uh? Score that. No, Yeah, I was, I was running.
- 47:41Speaker 9: I was I was thinking.
- 47:42Speaker 14: I was like, dude, I can be cause like they
- 47:44Speaker 14: the dudes over here, they kind of pointed they saw
- 47:47Speaker 14: me running.
- 47:47Speaker 9: I was looking at it the whole time. I was like,
- 47:48Speaker 9: I could beat him in the corner.
- 47:49Speaker 14: I started to lose a little bit of gas, so
- 47:51Speaker 14: I had to I had to change direction. But yeah, hopefully,
- 47:54Speaker 14: I thank thankfully they missed my legs and uh, you know,
- 47:57Speaker 14: I got in the end zone slightly. Casey almost blocked
- 47:59Speaker 14: me out of it though.
- 48:01Speaker 21: So was there any part of this win that was
- 48:03Speaker 21: for coach Moffatt? And what does he mean to all
- 48:05Speaker 21: his players?
- 48:06Speaker 14: I mean, yeah, Moffatt got some Gator report him at
- 48:09Speaker 14: the end of the game by the O line, for sure.
- 48:11Speaker 14: But yeah, Moffatt, you know, wanted this game just as
- 48:13Speaker 14: bad as anyone else. And you know, I remember Thursday
- 48:17Speaker 14: he kind of brought in a tackling dummy with Brian
- 48:19Speaker 14: Kelly's face on it.
- 48:19Speaker 9: We just all just started kicking his thumb and stuff
- 48:21Speaker 9: like that. But yeah, he this one was an important
- 48:25Speaker 9: one to him.
- 48:26Speaker 14: And they kind of told us the story of the
- 48:29Speaker 14: night before we even got here, you know, just kind
- 48:31Speaker 14: of kicking him in the butt and the crowd will.
- 48:33Speaker 9: Start to empty out towards the third and fourth quarter,
- 48:35Speaker 9: and you know they did.
- 48:36Speaker 14: Our crowd started to go over there and kind of
- 48:38Speaker 14: take over their suiting section and try to make all
- 48:40Speaker 14: the noise at the end of the game.
- 48:42Speaker 9: So, I mean it was really cool.
- 48:43Speaker 14: But definitely played a little bit of this game for
- 48:46Speaker 14: Moffatt because he has so much passion for the game
- 48:48Speaker 14: and he does so much for us.
- 48:49Speaker 9: Yeah, Ada, what is your repeace.
- 48:52Speaker 15: Of mind as player look like on that Texas singer
- 48:54Speaker 15: as a good coach has a good fan based group
- 48:57Speaker 15: of players who play like brothers, play like fame wise,
- 49:00Speaker 15: when so many games in through Trouble don't have about Trumbo.
- 49:02Speaker 14: They Yeah, I mean stuff like that is stuff that
- 49:05Speaker 14: you wish for on a football team, you know, at
- 49:08Speaker 14: at any level. I kind of had that in high school.
- 49:10Speaker 14: And I'm I'm grateful that, you know, I'm in this
- 49:13Speaker 14: situation right now. It takes to say and m because
- 49:15Speaker 14: the fans are amazing, the coaches are amazing, and my
- 49:17Speaker 14: teammates are amazing, and everybody's so genuine and you get
- 49:19Speaker 14: love and you have fun when you go to practice
- 49:21Speaker 14: and games every week a.
- 49:24Speaker 7: Coach all goes he's kind of tired about talking about
- 49:26Speaker 7: the past.
- 49:27Speaker 9: But you guys are doing the historic things, including tonight.
- 49:29Speaker 25: How do you look at that as a player, what
- 49:31Speaker 25: you guys have accomplished, but also where you wanna go
- 49:33Speaker 25: as a team this year.
- 49:34Speaker 14: Yeah, obviously we're gonna celebrate, you know, all the things
- 49:37Speaker 14: that we have k have accomplished, uh from you know,
- 49:40Speaker 14: historic things us not you know, being eight and o
- 49:44Speaker 14: since I don't know when, but you know, we're happy
- 49:47Speaker 14: about it for sure. But you know, there's definitely uh
- 49:50Speaker 14: s still a lot of things to be proven, and
- 49:52Speaker 14: I feel like a lot of people in this country
- 49:54Speaker 14: still don't respect us as a team. So no, we're
- 49:57Speaker 14: not trying to prove anybody uh wrong. We're just gonna
- 50:01Speaker 14: go prove ourselves right. And you know, we can't week
- 50:03Speaker 14: out play our game of football championship execution every week.
- 50:06Speaker 6: This gentleman in the back, can you just talk about
- 50:09Speaker 6: the KC concept showing his part return and kind of
- 50:12Speaker 6: what that did for your offense in.
- 50:13Speaker 9: Terms of momental Yeah, I mean, dude, it's amazing. When
- 50:16Speaker 9: you get a touchdown, you have to go in the field.
- 50:19Speaker 9: And I told him.
- 50:20Speaker 14: I was like, you were that guy, Like I've kN
- 50:22Speaker 14: I haven't seen anybody be that explosive in the punk
- 50:25Speaker 14: return game on my team.
- 50:26Speaker 9: And it's it's fun to.
- 50:27Speaker 14: Watch because, like you know, like I said, He's say,
- 50:30Speaker 14: it's like watching the defense getting interception or a pick
- 50:32Speaker 14: six or a fumble or something like that. Like it's
- 50:34Speaker 14: not you doing any other work. You're watching your teammates win.
- 50:37Speaker 14: And it's it's really exciting to watch plays like that.
- 50:39Speaker 21: Gentleman in the back, Marcel, when you're when you're.
- 50:42Speaker 22: On the road in the stadium like this, you know,
- 50:44Speaker 22: Tiger City, every R game, State of Room in this season,
- 50:47Speaker 22: those hot time environments. Does that the players that fuel you?
- 50:50Speaker 22: Do you wanna rise up when you're in places like this?
- 50:53Speaker 22: How do you react in settings like this?
- 50:55Speaker 9: Yeah? No, it feels me. I love playing in a
- 50:56Speaker 9: way environments.
- 50:58Speaker 14: They try to they try to put a quot out
- 51:00Speaker 14: there that I said that death value was underwhelming, and shoot,
- 51:03Speaker 14: I guess it was.
- 51:04Speaker 9: They didn't do much to me, so, but I I love.
- 51:06Speaker 14: I love playing in environments like this, and I think
- 51:10Speaker 14: my teammates do too, you know, being able to go
- 51:12Speaker 14: out there and get a w and kind of shut
- 51:14Speaker 14: the opponent's crowd up.
- 51:16Speaker 9: Is is something that you know, I look forward to
- 51:18Speaker 9: doing whenever we play away games. Carter, what was kind
- 51:21Speaker 9: of the moment.
- 51:22Speaker 22: In this game where you you thought that this could
- 51:25Speaker 22: be a blowout?
- 51:26Speaker 21: Was there ever, like a play or a sequence where
- 51:28Speaker 21: you got did this game really turned?
- 51:30Speaker 14: I mean when we I mean when we drove down
- 51:32Speaker 14: the first two drives of the game, I knew that
- 51:35Speaker 14: they could have compete with us.
- 51:37Speaker 9: Like it it like I said, we just killed ourselves at.
- 51:39Speaker 14: That point, and we kept them in the game and
- 51:43Speaker 14: all we had to do is make that switch, and
- 51:44Speaker 14: we did in the second half. But yeah, that you know,
- 51:47Speaker 14: me running down the field for forty something yards at
- 51:51Speaker 14: whatever weight I am and whatever's beet I am.
- 51:53Speaker 23: I don't know.
- 51:54Speaker 14: Those guys should be fashioning, but they're not. But like
- 51:57Speaker 14: you know, I I knew I had the confidence that
- 51:59Speaker 14: my team can go out there and get this win.
- 52:01Speaker 14: And I knew the defense was gonna make stops because
- 52:03Speaker 14: they were doing it in the first few drives as well.
- 52:05Speaker 9: Tyler, is this the most complete game you've seen from
- 52:08Speaker 9: you guys?
- 52:09Speaker 22: Are the offense, defense, special teams and what what did
- 52:11Speaker 22: you make of watchington defense to switch they made up
- 52:15Speaker 22: that second thing.
- 52:16Speaker 14: Yeah, I don't I wouldn't say it's the most complete game.
- 52:19Speaker 14: I don't know which game that is. I think we
- 52:21Speaker 14: still have, you know, chances to go out there and
- 52:23Speaker 14: do that, play a complete game.
- 52:26Speaker 9: But you know, it's crazy. The defense went out there
- 52:28Speaker 9: and did that.
- 52:29Speaker 14: You know, they responded, and uh, you know when they
- 52:32Speaker 14: respond they juiced the entire team to respond to So
- 52:34Speaker 14: special team started playing well, the offense started playing well,
- 52:37Speaker 14: and I think in the second half you could say
- 52:39Speaker 14: we played, uh, the most complete second half that we've
- 52:42Speaker 14: had all year, I guess, But uh, in terms of
- 52:45Speaker 14: four quarters, you know, there's still work to do.
- 52:47Speaker 9: Sam more sot in.
- 52:48Speaker 21: The second quarter when things went the way they did,
- 52:50Speaker 21: to turn over the long punt.
- 52:52Speaker 9: And this place gets loud and it gets rolling, they
- 52:54Speaker 9: gets momentum. How do you keep your poise in that moment?
- 52:58Speaker 14: Uh, hopefully fantas cheer when good things happened. So I
- 53:00Speaker 14: expected to get loud whenever they block up on or
- 53:02Speaker 14: get an interception. You know, when we score, the twelfth
- 53:04Speaker 14: man starts to get rowdy too. So you know, it's
- 53:07Speaker 14: just a part of the game. Things are gonna happen.
- 53:09Speaker 14: You can't really let one play affect you. And you
- 53:13Speaker 14: know that was I guess three total plays. You know
- 53:16Speaker 14: that's not the entire game. There's probably eighty two seventy
- 53:19Speaker 14: to eighty something plays in a game.
- 53:21Speaker 9: So you can't let three plays affect you in a game.
- 53:24Speaker 14: You gotta go out there and bounce back and just
- 53:25Speaker 14: keep your composure and go one play at a time.
- 53:28Speaker 22: Tunny, Marcelle, you had kind of touched on it, but
- 53:31Speaker 22: you know eight, you know, like going into your second
- 53:33Speaker 22: by week, a lot.
- 53:34Speaker 27: Of people have talked about you guys, the legit legitimacy.
- 53:37Speaker 9: Is it time for people that just believe that you
- 53:38Speaker 9: guys are real?
- 53:40Speaker 14: I mean, if they wanna believe it're real, they can.
- 53:42Speaker 14: If they don't, that's not my problem. But I know,
- 53:45Speaker 14: I know we're real, and then everybody in that locker
- 53:47Speaker 14: room knows we're real.
- 53:48Speaker 9: So we're just gonna keep doing what we're doing.
- 53:50Speaker 14: I likes where do you feel like you've grown the
- 53:52Speaker 14: most in your game in this last five game stretch,
- 53:54Speaker 14: in particular start conference play. I think just you know,
- 53:59Speaker 14: taking what the defense giving me and being able to
- 54:01Speaker 14: use my legs a little bit more. Uh, whenever things
- 54:03Speaker 14: clear up, or you know, even breaking the pocket and
- 54:06Speaker 14: still looking downfield to see an option. If not, then
- 54:08Speaker 14: taking off and running, making the defense pick and choose
- 54:10Speaker 14: what they have to do.
- 54:11Speaker 21: I'll close out.
- 54:12Speaker 16: H everybody in this league has a loss except you
- 54:15Speaker 16: guys would if everybody's beating up on everybody every week
- 54:18Speaker 16: and seems like.
- 54:18Speaker 21: What do you think this says about where you guys
- 54:20Speaker 21: are as a program to win five in a row.
- 54:23Speaker 9: And be the only one in the league that's just
- 54:25Speaker 9: scoots you. Yeah, I'm movely cannibalized youself football.
- 54:28Speaker 14: Yeah, we know how tough this league is, and you know,
- 54:31Speaker 14: you know you're gonna have to you know, scratch and
- 54:33Speaker 14: claw to get w's in this conference for sure. You
- 54:36Speaker 14: know every team you play in this conference has you know,
- 54:39Speaker 14: good players and great coaches.
- 54:40Speaker 9: So I think it's just our.
- 54:44Speaker 14: Level of competitiveness and uh intentionality of playing championship execution football. Uh,
- 54:50Speaker 14: each and every week in El Cup preacheres, if we
- 54:52Speaker 14: practice every single thing possibly known like.
- 54:55Speaker 9: In football, we could probably go through a world book
- 54:58Speaker 9: and they'll say that we did that in practice.
- 55:00Speaker 14: And I think we're really prepared when we come into
- 55:03Speaker 14: games because of our coaching staff and how Bod and
- 55:05Speaker 14: our teammates are.
