- Lucas: Hej och välkomna tillbaka! You're listening to Learn Swedish with Fexingo, episode 21. Luna: Hej Lucas! I am so ready for today. What are we learning? Lucas: Today, we are going to learn some body parts in Swedish. Simple ones that you can use every day. Luna: Oh, like 'head' and 'shoulders'? That kind of thing? Lucas: Exactly. And I promise, by the end of this episode, you will be able to name at least six body parts. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Let's start with the easiest one. How do you say 'head' in Swedish? Lucas: Head is 'huvud'. Luna: Huvud. Lucas: Good. Huvud. Try it again. Luna: Huvud. Lucas: Perfect. Now, shoulders. Shoulders is 'axlar'. Luna: Axlar. Lucas: Yes. Axlar. Luna: That sounds like 'axles' in English, but I'll remember it. Lucas: sure. Now, knee. Knee is 'knä'. Luna: Knä. That's short. Knä. Lucas: Right. And toes are 'tår'. Luna: Tår. Like 'tear' but with a rolling r? Tår. Lucas: Exactly. And eyes? You know this one from maybe some songs? Eyes is 'ögon'. Luna: Ögon. That sounds like 'urgh-on'? Ögon. Lucas: Close enough. And ears is 'öron'. Luna: Öron. Like 'urgh-on' but with an r. Öron. Lucas: Great. So let's say them all again. Huvud, axlar, knä, tår, ögon, öron. Luna: Huvud, axlar, knä, tår, ögon, öron. Lucas: Okay, now let's do a little scene. Point to your head and say 'Det här är mitt huvud.' This is my head. Luna: Det här är mitt huvud. Lucas: Good. Now point to your shoulder. 'Det här är min axel.' But careful, when we say 'my shoulder' it's 'min axel' because 'axel' is an en-word. But if you say 'my shoulders' it's 'mina axlar'. Luna: Oh, right. Possessives. So 'min axel' for singular, 'mina axlar' for plural. Lucas: Exactly. So for now, let's keep it simple. Just say 'axlar' for shoulders. Luna: Okay. So 'huvud', 'axlar', 'knä', 'tår', 'ögon', 'öron'. I think I got it. Lucas: Let's test. What's 'head'? Luna: Huvud. Lucas: Shoulders? Luna: Axlar. Lucas: Knee? Luna: Knä. Lucas: Toes? Luna: Tår. Lucas: Eyes? Luna: Ögon. Lucas: Ears? Luna: Öron. Lucas: Perfect. Now, let's make a tiny sentence. 'Jag har ett huvud.' I have a head. Luna: Jag har ett huvud. Lucas: Good. 'Jag har två axlar.' I have two shoulders. Luna: Jag har två axlar. Lucas: And 'Jag har två knän.' I have two knees. Luna: Jag har två knän. Oh, careful, 'knä' becomes 'knän' in plural. Lucas: Yes. And 'Jag har tio tår.' I have ten toes. Luna: Jag har tio tår. Lucas: And 'Jag har två ögon.' I have two eyes. Luna: Jag har två ögon. Lucas: And 'Jag har två öron.' I have two ears. Luna: Jag har två öron. This is fun. I feel like a little kid learning a song. Lucas: That's exactly the idea. So, let's review everything one more time. Repeat after me: huvud. Luna: Huvud. Lucas: Axlar. Luna: Axlar. Lucas: Knä. Luna: Knä. Lucas: Tår. Luna: Tår. Lucas: Ögon. Luna: Ögon. Lucas: Öron. Luna: Öron. Lucas: Great job, Luna. And for our listeners, practice these words today. Point to your body parts while you say them. Luna: Yeah, I'm going to do that while I walk around. People will think I'm weird, but that's okay. Lucas: That's the spirit. And remember, you can always listen to this episode again on the Fexingo app or wherever you get podcasts. Luna: Yes, and practice till we meet again. Hejdå! Lucas: Hejdå! See you next time.
