- 0:54Speaker 1: talking about. We about to go cruising. Everybody, Please welcome
- 0:57Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversations Masterclass and long, how you doing this?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Long? Hey, hiray Sean, thank you for having me.
- 1:06Speaker 1: First of all, I added some mustard to the sandwich.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I added fraternities, I added soroar dies. I added churches.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I added family unions, because all these groups need to
- 1:17Speaker 1: understand and value the cruise experience. Tell us about it.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Okay, so cruising is one of my favorite form of
- 1:31Speaker 2: vacation in there's nothing like packing once getting on the
- 1:37Speaker 2: ship on the wide open seam and you don't have
- 1:43Speaker 2: to unpack again. You wake up every day in a
- 1:49Speaker 2: new destination.
- 1:52Speaker 1: With food, food, food food. Only.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Cruising allows you to vacation in that way.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Well, let me just let me just go and do
- 2:04Speaker 1: the disclaimer. I called Angelita, let her know my background.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I used to stand I used to perform as a
- 2:11Speaker 1: stand up comedian, and I performed on at least eighty
- 2:14Speaker 1: cruise ships around this world. You know, Norwegian Cruise Line,
- 2:20Speaker 1: Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. I've been on Disney's Line, Disney
- 2:24Speaker 1: Cruise Lines, I've been on Viking. So I told her, look,
- 2:27Speaker 1: I am a fan and advocate of cruising, and she said,
- 2:32Speaker 1: thank you. Now, what I want to do is, but
- 2:34Speaker 1: I don't know the background of cruising and why people
- 2:38Speaker 1: find it soul inviting and those little details I want
- 2:43Speaker 1: to know about from you. Let's talk about the black
- 2:46Speaker 1: experience when it comes to cruising and that's what you're
- 2:50Speaker 1: in an African American and when you're approaching people of
- 2:53Speaker 1: color about cruising, what are the big cell points for
- 2:57Speaker 1: cruising for them?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Okay, so the big sale point for cruising, especially for
- 3:08Speaker 2: African American. So in recent years, I find that we're
- 3:14Speaker 2: doing a lot of multi generational traveling, so grandparents are
- 3:19Speaker 2: traveling with you know, parents with their children and then
- 3:25Speaker 2: their grandchildren. The appeal is the all inclusive convenience because
- 3:32Speaker 2: cruising it takes the stress out of the travel. When
- 3:36Speaker 2: you cruise, are your cruise fear, it covers your accommodation,
- 3:40Speaker 2: you're dining and like you said, you used to perform
- 3:42Speaker 2: on the cruise ship. So the entertainment and transportation to
- 3:46Speaker 2: the multiple destinations that you get to visit. And that's
- 3:52Speaker 2: another big point is you get to visit multiple destinations
- 3:56Speaker 2: in one trip on a one week crew depending on
- 4:00Speaker 2: the itinerary, you need to see anywhere from three to
- 4:05Speaker 2: even seven depending on the itinerary, again, seven different locations.
- 4:10Speaker 2: The other thing is cruising has something for everyone. So
- 4:13Speaker 2: whether you know the adventure lovers, because some of these
- 4:16Speaker 2: cruise ships they're floating hotels plus more, you have you know,
- 4:23Speaker 2: rock climbing, rollercoasters, Yes, yes, go karts, Come on, baby,
- 4:33Speaker 2: it's all there. So you know, we satisfy the adventure lovers.
- 4:38Speaker 2: If you want relaxation, there's some of that there for
- 4:40Speaker 2: you too. You know those to one entertainment Again, you
- 4:44Speaker 2: said you performing cruise ships. Some of these cruise ships
- 4:46Speaker 2: they have broad Way shows, you know, Broadway productions every
- 4:51Speaker 2: night on the ship.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Now exciting, that's exciting to know. Now let me ask
- 4:57Speaker 1: you this MS long. You know, you know you're twenty
- 5:01Speaker 1: four year veterment. Thank you for your service to this country.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Now that was in the military. How did you make
- 5:07Speaker 1: a transition into travel? What made that? What was the
- 5:11Speaker 1: drive that got you from the military to become a
- 5:14Speaker 1: travel or a cruise expert.
- 5:18Speaker 2: So that goes back a long, long, long way more
- 5:24Speaker 2: than twenty four years. See, I grew up in Jamaica
- 5:28Speaker 2: where my mom ran a villa and I used to
- 5:32Speaker 2: watch my mom turns people vacation into lifelong memories. So
- 5:36Speaker 2: I learned at an early age the transformative power of travel,
- 5:40Speaker 2: how travel can change your life, how it can build connections,
- 5:43Speaker 2: how it opened doors and again, how it can turn
- 5:46Speaker 2: strangers into friends. And so as a kid, I always
- 5:51Speaker 2: wanted to travel. So I joined the military and my
- 5:56Speaker 2: first employment was to Iraq, rightow. Definitely not the glamorous
- 6:01Speaker 2: adventure I hoped I would, you know, I hoped I
- 6:05Speaker 2: would you.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Okay, you went to Iraq? What was joining the military?
- 6:09Speaker 1: What did you expect and travel? Just help me out
- 6:12Speaker 1: what what? What did you expect that they may station
- 6:16Speaker 1: you are, you may go that you felt would be
- 6:19Speaker 1: adventurous or glamorous.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So, you know, my recruiter told me I could travel
- 6:25Speaker 2: the world and Uncle Tom's done. So when you hear that,
- 6:32Speaker 2: you're definitely not picturing Iraq. You know, your picturing places
- 6:37Speaker 2: like Hawaii, which I did get to go after all.
- 6:40Speaker 2: You know, we're thinking of Hawaii, Germany, those places, right right.
- 6:47Speaker 2: So nonetheless, going to Iraq was an exposure to It
- 6:53Speaker 2: was a great exposure. I was exposed to different culture,
- 6:57Speaker 2: which you know, it's something that we all need to
- 7:00Speaker 2: learn about when we travel and we get exposed, you know,
- 7:04Speaker 2: we get exposed to the different culture. We understand why
- 7:07Speaker 2: certain people are the way they are, and you know,
- 7:10Speaker 2: in a way that reduces the stereotype that we have
- 7:13Speaker 2: in our mind about certain people.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's true, that's true. I know that I travel a lot,
- 7:19Speaker 1: and you know, you only you only know what you
- 7:23Speaker 1: learn or you see. You know, I will tell you this.
- 7:26Speaker 1: When I went to Africa, I went to South Africa.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I was so I want you to say, stupid, because
- 7:32Speaker 1: I had bought into the stereotypes that I was going
- 7:35Speaker 1: to an area that may not have the technology, and
- 7:38Speaker 1: I was going. I went down to the Durban, which
- 7:40Speaker 1: is just south of Johannesburg, and UH was doing the
- 7:44Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show live broadcast and I just did
- 7:47Speaker 1: not believe that we could do a live broadcast in Durban,
- 7:50Speaker 1: South Africa, let alone Johannesburg. I was going to Durban.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And because if you don't travel, you kind of be
- 7:57Speaker 1: you're only going to see what you know are you've
- 7:59Speaker 1: been told or you've been brainwashed to the perception of
- 8:03Speaker 1: And going to Durban was just like landing in Atlanta, Georgia,
- 8:07Speaker 1: just like landing in Houston, Texas. Is just a lot
- 8:10Speaker 1: more black people. That's all. That's what I think travel
- 8:13Speaker 1: brought to me. And I've been to Italy, I've been
- 8:15Speaker 1: to France, I've been to all the Caribbean islands. I've
- 8:19Speaker 1: been to Bermuda. Of course, probably forty two out of
- 8:22Speaker 1: the fifty the United States and states in the United States,
- 8:25Speaker 1: and that really has changed my understanding. That's why I
- 8:28Speaker 1: always recommend travel. And that's my big takeaway is that
- 8:32Speaker 1: you do educate and you do learn learn a lot
- 8:35Speaker 1: about yourself in this world when you do travel.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Correct, Oh, definitely. So yeah, it changes your perspective. It's
- 8:46Speaker 2: every time you travel, it's an education. It's you know,
- 8:50Speaker 2: you learn about history.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Here's here's my thing about you. You know, this military experience,
- 8:57Speaker 1: you know, you've been training, you was in there for
- 8:59Speaker 1: twenty four years. How did it prepare you for business ownership?
- 9:02Speaker 1: Because I was like, because a lot of people don't
- 9:04Speaker 1: know how to pivot, you know, they've been doing something
- 9:06Speaker 1: for so long. Now were you doing certain things in
- 9:09Speaker 1: the military they prepared you for business ownership? Or it
- 9:13Speaker 1: was just a natural calling because your mom was doing
- 9:16Speaker 1: this when you was in Jamaica.
- 9:21Speaker 2: So I would say, it's a little bit of boat. So,
- 9:26Speaker 2: you know, like I said, I was trends. I was
- 9:29Speaker 2: indoctrinated into the travel industry at an early age. But
- 9:34Speaker 2: being in the military, you learn, you learn resiliency, you know,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you learn how to plan. You know, you get good
- 9:44Speaker 2: at logistics and being resilient. Yeah, it's a part of
- 9:50Speaker 2: knowing how to pivot. And you're right, not everyone knows
- 9:54Speaker 2: how to do this. But I was as I was
- 9:56Speaker 2: preparing for my transition out of the military, and I
- 10:00Speaker 2: was sitting in one of the transition classes, and you know,
- 10:03Speaker 2: some of my peers were there stressing about their next job.
- 10:09Speaker 2: And It's just dawned on me, like, I've done this
- 10:11Speaker 2: for twenty four years, you know, I've I'm going to say,
- 10:15Speaker 2: you know, punch the clock. Why do I want to
- 10:18Speaker 2: keep doing this? You know because in the military, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 2: you're in schedule. There's a schedule, and everything you do
- 10:28Speaker 2: relates to something that is bigger than you. So I'm like,
- 10:33Speaker 2: you know, why do I want to keep Why do
- 10:35Speaker 2: I want to keep punching the clock? And you know,
- 10:39Speaker 2: it just dawn on me that after so many years,
- 10:42Speaker 2: I've been exposed to so many different things, you know,
- 10:48Speaker 2: why not do something that I love that I want
- 10:51Speaker 2: to do. In addition to that, I also I have
- 10:55Speaker 2: a young child, and I'm like, I wanted to be
- 10:57Speaker 2: more available for my son and travel. I we love
- 11:04Speaker 2: to travel, even before you know, I became a travel
- 11:08Speaker 2: advisor and I would always help my friends with with
- 11:11Speaker 2: their travels. They would always call me up like where
- 11:14Speaker 2: can I find this deal? You know I want to
- 11:17Speaker 2: go here? You know, who should I book it with?
- 11:19Speaker 2: And so my friends was like, why don't you go
- 11:21Speaker 2: be a travel agent? You're already doing it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I'm so so you were just hooking up everybody. You
- 11:29Speaker 1: were the person they came to. What hotels should I
- 11:31Speaker 1: stay in? What's the airline? Freaking flyer plans, things like that,
- 11:35Speaker 1: vacation packages, and you was just kind of like doing
- 11:37Speaker 1: it as a friend to a friend, and that became
- 11:41Speaker 1: your path to your success. And I always tell people
- 11:43Speaker 1: that a lot of people ignore revenue because they don't
- 11:46Speaker 1: see it being possible. How did you see it being
- 11:49Speaker 1: possible getting into the travel agency business or travel business
- 11:53Speaker 1: and eventually becoming a cruise line expert?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Okay, so you know you can't be what you can't see.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I don't remember who said that, but that's the saying
- 12:07Speaker 2: that's always stuck stuck with me. And thinking back to
- 12:14Speaker 2: when I was in Jamaica, like I said, my mom
- 12:17Speaker 2: r and the villa Jamaica is big on tourism and
- 12:22Speaker 2: we have for a long time. I would think, Okay,
- 12:25Speaker 2: how is it that you know black people are always
- 12:29Speaker 2: the workers, but I rarely ever saw any black leaders
- 12:33Speaker 2: at the top of the industry. And so you know,
- 12:38Speaker 2: like I say, at an early age, I always wanted
- 12:40Speaker 2: to travel. And then when I decided to get out
- 12:43Speaker 2: and be a travel advisor. Early on, I went to
- 12:47Speaker 2: a travel show and as I looked around in the room,
- 12:50Speaker 2: I could count the amount of black professionals in that
- 12:53Speaker 2: room on one hand. And I'm like, nah, nah, nah nah.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, black people, we spend a lot
- 13:00Speaker 2: of money in travel. I said, if the table isn't
- 13:04Speaker 2: big enough for us to fit there, we don't have
- 13:06Speaker 2: to make our own table.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Love it.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 13:12Speaker 3: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making

- 13:36Speaker 1: When I was growing up, Smoking Robinson had this cruise
- 13:39Speaker 1: and I know he wasn't talking about the cruise that
- 13:42Speaker 1: we're talking about. But it was such a cruising song.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And I've been cruising a long time personally. I take
- 13:48Speaker 1: my family cruising. I've been on the Disney cruise, i
- 13:50Speaker 1: went up to Alaska, I went out to the Caribbean
- 13:54Speaker 1: for several days. I've been on the three day cruise,
- 13:56Speaker 1: I've been on the seven day cruise. I've been on
- 13:58Speaker 1: the river cruises all along. I come back Miss Long
- 14:03Speaker 1: talking about that food. That food, the food in the morning,
- 14:06Speaker 1: the food at lunch, the food at dinner time, the
- 14:09Speaker 1: food at midnight. And also they have a little specialty
- 14:13Speaker 1: restaurants on these cruise ships. Talk to us about that
- 14:16Speaker 1: food experience on these cruise lines. Miss Long.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Okay, so you know, like you said, there is food here,
- 14:24Speaker 2: There is food there. There is food everywhere. The one
- 14:29Speaker 2: thing that you're not going to be on a cruise
- 14:32Speaker 2: is hungry. Yes, So I'm included in your cruise sphere.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Your food is included. So on every cruise, well except
- 14:44Speaker 2: for one, there's going to be a buffet. That buffet
- 14:47Speaker 2: is almost open almost all the time, and every kind
- 14:50Speaker 2: of food you can think of is on that buffet line.
- 14:55Speaker 2: It's there, and a lot of times each day. They
- 14:59Speaker 2: have like a little space shelter section and they change
- 15:01Speaker 2: up that section every day, you know, just to bring
- 15:03Speaker 2: in something fresh and new and jutt it up, jutt
- 15:06Speaker 2: it up. Yeah. You know.
- 15:08Speaker 1: The thing about it is they do have a little
- 15:10Speaker 1: gym there. You know, if you want to be a
- 15:12Speaker 1: person who act like they want to stay in shape.
- 15:14Speaker 1: But I don't know why you want to go on
- 15:16Speaker 1: a cruise with all this great food. I mean, she's
- 15:19Speaker 1: not kid ice cream beyond that, desserts, beyond their cookies.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Everything everything, and yeah, you know if you're that gym time. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 2: they do have state of the art gems, all the ships, right, yes,
- 15:32Speaker 2: everything of the food is there. So in addition to
- 15:34Speaker 2: the buffet, and we ain't even like the Google part yet,
- 15:36Speaker 2: but in addition to the buffet, you know, they have
- 15:38Speaker 2: the burgage ones, they have the hot doll joints, they
- 15:41Speaker 2: have the piece of shop. Yeah, they have the little
- 15:43Speaker 2: ice cream parlor. Everybody walking around, you know, the kid,
- 15:46Speaker 2: the kid and you come out because you know, growing
- 15:48Speaker 2: faks who don't eat ice cream at home. They walking
- 15:50Speaker 2: around with their ice cream cone.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And then something some cruise if you do where they
- 15:55Speaker 1: walk around with food on a little tray, you know,
- 15:57Speaker 1: like act like you can't see the food. They just
- 15:59Speaker 1: come by. You want some snacks while you sitting by
- 16:01Speaker 1: the pool. You want this for you, you know. And
- 16:03Speaker 1: they also I have alcohol out there, and I feel
- 16:06Speaker 1: all alcohol is extra correct if I'm not mistaken. Isn't
- 16:10Speaker 1: that correct?
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah? Alcohol is extra. So the vast majority of the
- 16:14Speaker 2: cruise lines they have the drink package. You can either
- 16:17Speaker 2: buy it when you buy your cruise spear or you
- 16:19Speaker 2: could buy them the app. All the cruise lines have
- 16:21Speaker 2: an app, so when you book your cruise, you just
- 16:23Speaker 2: download that by boy, and you know, you start familiarizing
- 16:27Speaker 2: yourself with the shed and what it has to offer.
- 16:30Speaker 2: And so yeah, you could buy your drink package in they're.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Also now you know, getting that group. So let's talk
- 16:35Speaker 1: about it. Like I said before I want to break
- 16:37Speaker 1: it was talking about the NCL Aqua twenty twenty five
- 16:41Speaker 1: cruise experience. You said that's a must join experience. Tell
- 16:45Speaker 1: us what that's all.
- 16:46Speaker 2: About, russhean, I can't wait to get an NCL Aqua.
- 16:51Speaker 2: So NCL Norwegian Cruise Line NCL Aqua is their brand
- 16:57Speaker 2: news ship that's coming out here. It's not even number
- 17:01Speaker 2: water it, but how.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Many passengers did it? How many passengers I've been on
- 17:07Speaker 1: the seven hundred, which is small, I've been on a
- 17:09Speaker 1: three thousand passenger cruise ship. How many passages on this? Awkward?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Do you know? Off hand?
- 17:16Speaker 2: So this tis over thirty five hundred people? All? Yeah,
- 17:22Speaker 2: But you know, Rashan, that's nothing. I know. We're talking
- 17:26Speaker 2: about NCL, But they got some cruise ships out there
- 17:28Speaker 2: that can sit up like seven thousand people on that.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And I'm gonna just tell people this. I'm gonna just
- 17:33Speaker 1: tell people because you're gonna answer this too. When you
- 17:36Speaker 1: don't let that thirty five hundred fool you, you will
- 17:39Speaker 1: not be waiting in line for food. They got different
- 17:42Speaker 1: times that you're gonna go eat. You will eat on
- 17:45Speaker 1: different sides of the ship. They got different buffets, they
- 17:48Speaker 1: got different they got everything. And that's they are really
- 17:52Speaker 1: one of the most organized formats. Four meals for entertainment
- 17:58Speaker 1: because you kind of mentioned the entertainment it early because
- 18:00Speaker 1: you said, Reshine, you performed on the cruises, Yes, I did.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I performed on Norwegian Cruise Lines to stand up comedian.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I perform on the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines and stand
- 18:09Speaker 1: up comedian. I will get on the cruise on Sunday,
- 18:11Speaker 1: I perform on Tuesday, and I perform on Thursday. Because
- 18:15Speaker 1: a lot of times, some cruise have what they call
- 18:18Speaker 1: dress up night. They want you addressed in a nice suit.
- 18:22Speaker 1: That's kind of like a formal night with the captain's dinner.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Some cruise lines do that, and some cruise lines they
- 18:28Speaker 1: just want you to be casual the whole time, depending
- 18:30Speaker 1: on the type of cruise that you own. Now, when
- 18:32Speaker 1: you talk about the NCL ARC or twenty twenty five cruise,
- 18:36Speaker 1: which has never been cruised before, how do people get
- 18:40Speaker 1: to share in that experience or gett an opportunity to
- 18:42Speaker 1: be a part of the experience A jelita.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Okay, So if you want to be a part of
- 18:48Speaker 2: that experience, all you got to do is reach out
- 18:51Speaker 2: to me. Am. I allowed to give up my phone
- 18:54Speaker 2: number here, give.
- 18:54Speaker 1: It out, give it that nigga can't reach it, don't.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So four seven eight three three four zero one seven seven.
- 19:03Speaker 2: But before you call me, go ahead and check out
- 19:05Speaker 2: my website of my dream vacation travel dot com. And
- 19:11Speaker 2: one of the best things about this so we've been
- 19:15Speaker 2: doing all of the passport passe since twenty twenty two.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Let me tell you the first time we did one
- 19:22Speaker 2: of these strips, I had a young lady who's never cruise.
- 19:26Speaker 2: That lady was so scared a cruising Rashaan. Two of
- 19:30Speaker 2: us had to hold her hand to walk her onto
- 19:33Speaker 2: the ship.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Wow.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Wow, that's how scared she was. And now every year
- 19:39Speaker 2: she's one of the first one. Sim Buff and I
- 19:43Speaker 2: mean he is one of the first ones.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And let's let's kill out this rumor. They have nightclubs
- 19:48Speaker 1: on cruise ships. They have some cruise ships have gambling
- 19:51Speaker 1: on cruise ships, and so you know, if you're single,
- 19:54Speaker 1: you can mingle, as they say, on these cruise ships.
- 19:57Speaker 1: So don't look at it as a family only experience.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Don't look at it as an old folks experience. It
- 20:03Speaker 1: really is a well rounded experience for everybody.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Don't you think it's for everyone. It's for first time cruisers,
- 20:10Speaker 2: because I promise you once you come the first time,
- 20:12Speaker 2: you're gonna keep coming back. It's for professionals if you're
- 20:16Speaker 2: looking for luxury travel experience or you know, ways to
- 20:19Speaker 2: connect with light minded professionals. It's for groups and families
- 20:23Speaker 2: who want to have fun, without the planning. It's also
- 20:27Speaker 2: for singles. You know, if you're scared of traveling by yourself,
- 20:31Speaker 2: come on out travel travel with us. And a lot
- 20:34Speaker 2: of the crews they know, they know a lot of
- 20:37Speaker 2: single people travel, so they have events set up specifically
- 20:42Speaker 2: for single people and when you check in, when you
- 20:45Speaker 2: check in on your cruise, they'll ask you it should
- 20:48Speaker 2: be annotated on your booking, but they'll also confirm that
- 20:51Speaker 2: you're a single person, and sometimes, depending on the SAILY,
- 20:54Speaker 2: you'll get an invite to a singles only party.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Now here's let's talk about it. Let's go back to
- 20:59Speaker 1: your military exit experience, because as a veteran you help
- 21:02Speaker 1: fellow service members maximize travel benefits. What benefits can veterans
- 21:07Speaker 1: get or travel perks they can get by being in
- 21:11Speaker 1: the military to cruising.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Okay, so you know perks are always great and travel
- 21:18Speaker 2: is great when you get a better price, when you
- 21:20Speaker 2: get a better discount. Right, So if we're talking about that,
- 21:24Speaker 2: you know specifically Norwegian Cruise Line. Norwegian Cruise Line gives
- 21:29Speaker 2: you what extra ten percent to offer you cruise fare
- 21:33Speaker 2: and so that's not the only thing. So if you
- 21:37Speaker 2: are familiar with the different cruise lines. Think Margaritaville. Margaritaville
- 21:42Speaker 2: gives each veteran once a year, you could get a
- 21:44Speaker 2: three night free cruise no cost to you.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Okay, repeat that now, Margaritaville gives what to a veteran.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Margaritaville, each veteran, you can get a three night cruise
- 21:57Speaker 2: at no cost to you. Margaritaville sales out of West
- 22:02Speaker 2: bomb Beach and you can have that access once a year.
- 22:08Speaker 2: That's awesome, it is if you've never heard.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Of that, that's awesome. Thank you for providing us with
- 22:15Speaker 1: that information. Do they can they go through you or
- 22:18Speaker 1: contact you for that information or they go straight to
- 22:21Speaker 1: Margaritaville because I'd never heard of that.
- 22:24Speaker 2: So they have to move directly with the cruise line.
- 22:26Speaker 2: But they could reach out to me and I will
- 22:28Speaker 2: help them with the information. But you know, Rishan, veterans
- 22:32Speaker 2: have a lot of travel benefits. You know, a lot
- 22:35Speaker 2: of time we go out and people say thank you,
- 22:36Speaker 2: thank you, thank you for your service, thank you for this.
- 22:39Speaker 2: But you know, when you want to go on a trip,
- 22:41Speaker 2: you got to bring out the money and thank you
- 22:44Speaker 2: don't pay for those trips. So I make sure veterans
- 22:49Speaker 2: know about the travel benefits that's available to them and
- 22:52Speaker 2: how they can maximize their benefits, and you know, perfect example,
- 22:56Speaker 2: I had a neighbor only recently that told me, Hey,
- 22:59Speaker 2: I want to go to I want to go to Universal,
- 23:01Speaker 2: but I looked on the web door. I looked online
- 23:03Speaker 2: and it was over four thousand dollars. So it's like,
- 23:06Speaker 2: can you hook me up? And I looked and I
- 23:10Speaker 2: sent her a quote and it was for like twenty
- 23:12Speaker 2: two hundred dollars. And then I sent it back to
- 23:14Speaker 2: her and she was like, so, you know, I called
- 23:17Speaker 2: her up. I'm like, hey, did you see it? She
- 23:19Speaker 2: was like, yeah, I saw it, but I want to
- 23:21Speaker 2: stay in the park. I'm like, did you read my email?
- 23:25Speaker 2: She was like, for that price, I can't be staying
- 23:27Speaker 2: in the park. And I'm like, yes, but that price
- 23:29Speaker 2: is staying in the park because I used their military discount.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Wow. Wow, congratulations. And provide that type of information to
- 23:38Speaker 1: our service individuals, because you know, we know they like
- 23:43Speaker 1: in the military and they're not paying you six figures
- 23:46Speaker 1: sometimes to protect this country and these type of benefits
- 23:50Speaker 1: are blessing a blessing, and we should know about that.
- 23:52Speaker 1: So give out your number. One more time. It's long
- 23:55Speaker 1: so they'll know about what you're doing out there in
- 23:57Speaker 1: the cruise industry. And before we wrap up, we want
- 24:01Speaker 1: to talk about some specialty cruises that you may be
- 24:03Speaker 1: working with as well. Give out your number then, okay.
- 24:06Speaker 2: So my number is four seven eight three three four
- 24:11Speaker 2: zero one seven seven cool.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Now, now you know Tom Jonah made it famous. You
- 24:17Speaker 1: know all these cruises.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I love that show Growing Up.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Tom Jonah made it famous. Now there are specialty cruises
- 24:26Speaker 1: going around, jazz cruises, R and B cruises. Are you
- 24:29Speaker 1: involved with any of those type of cruises? Are those
- 24:31Speaker 1: the cruisers? There's just specialties and you have to know
- 24:34Speaker 1: what they're going on at the time, and you just
- 24:37Speaker 1: could book traditional cruises.
- 24:41Speaker 2: So no, but you know what you're talking about, you know,
- 24:45Speaker 2: growing and Sexy guys. If you haven't heard about it,
- 24:47Speaker 2: put it in Google.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Growing.
- 24:50Speaker 2: These are charter ship right, nothing but black people. And
- 24:56Speaker 2: let me tell you this, it's black people and no
- 24:58Speaker 2: drama though on these ships. You know, you know, black
- 25:04Speaker 2: talks ain't happening in the corner. They are center stage.
- 25:07Speaker 2: We got it's full of black people, we got black entertainers.
- 25:11Speaker 2: You know, everything on there is all about black history,
- 25:15Speaker 2: black culture, black power. So yeah, and these cruises, they
- 25:20Speaker 2: normally happen in the summertime. But here's the thing, a
- 25:24Speaker 2: lot of times they're hard to get into because unless
- 25:27Speaker 2: you know somebody, because when, yeah, once you go on
- 25:31Speaker 2: the trip this summer, those same people they rebooked before
- 25:34Speaker 2: they get off the ship.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Right right, I'll tell you something, Angelita, this has been fun.
- 25:39Speaker 1: You know you started out slow. Well, boy, you just
- 25:42Speaker 1: you need another year after the break. And I'm happy
- 25:44Speaker 1: because people need to understand. So I'm gonna bring you
- 25:47Speaker 1: back on the shoulder right now in a couple of
- 25:49Speaker 1: months if your schedule permits, because I want people to
- 25:52Speaker 1: understand that summertime, a lot of black people cruise doing
- 25:55Speaker 1: the summer. We're going to talk about that experience that
- 25:57Speaker 1: that is happening, and then I want to talk about
- 25:59Speaker 1: specially the cruiser is even more. But more importantly, thank
- 26:02Speaker 1: you for coming on my show, money making conversation and
- 26:04Speaker 1: sharing your again. Thank you for your twenty four years
- 26:08Speaker 1: of service to this country. Thank you for telling military
- 26:10Speaker 1: people there are benefits out there that they can take
- 26:13Speaker 1: advantage of. Contact you and you can help them mind.
- 26:16Speaker 1: But more importantly, you have an experience that you want
- 26:18Speaker 1: to share with people of color in the cruise industry,
- 26:21Speaker 1: and you are making it happen. Thank you for coming
- 26:23Speaker 1: on my show.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Thank you for having me.
