- 2:22Speaker 1: iDocSports.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Esparza, always great to see you. Sir, you got that
- 2:24Speaker 2: nice MyBookie shirt on tonight.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been doing a lot of press stuff for
- 2:29Speaker 3: them today. I don't know why today's been a busy
- 2:31Speaker 3: day media-wise. It's been a weird one.
- 2:35Speaker 2: No, it has. So we got Lane Kiffin still out
- 2:37Speaker 2: here whining, calling Ole Miss that was their Super Bowl. Look,
- 2:41Speaker 2: we'll get into the games in a minute. Lane Kiffin
- 2:42Speaker 2: better not let Ole Miss beat him twice.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Ole Miss has something else to worry
- 2:49Speaker 3: about right now. They have to go to Florida, which
- 2:51Speaker 3: is coming off a big win against Auburn. I think
- 2:53Speaker 3: I mentioned that in your show that I liked Auburn.
- 2:55Speaker 3: And this running back that Florida has, when he rushes
- 2:57Speaker 3: for 100 yards or more, they're a perfect 7-0. So
- 3:02Speaker 3: if Ole Miss can't stop the run game, maybe it
- 3:05Speaker 3: will be a Super Bowl letdown game. I think this game,
- 3:08Speaker 3: and you know how I love the SEC, I think
- 3:10Speaker 3: this game right here, Ole Miss and Florida is probably
- 3:12Speaker 3: one of the better ones on the card.
- 3:14Speaker 2: No, I think so as well. Let's go ahead and
- 3:15Speaker 2: get right into it because we've got a lot of
- 3:17Speaker 2: games to get to. And let me pull these in
- 3:22Speaker 2: real quick.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And let me see.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Where did my games go as far as I've just
- 3:25Speaker 2: lost my games?
- 3:26Speaker 1: I'm going to find them, though. I'll be here in
- 3:27Speaker 1: a minute.
- 3:28Speaker 2: But first, let's– your take first.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Let me ask this.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Jackson Dart goes down for the New York Giants. We'll
- 3:34Speaker 2: get into some NFL as well. Your thoughts on what
- 3:36Speaker 2: that means for the New York football Giants?
- 3:39Speaker 3: They're done. I mean, they're– I think they can maybe–
- 3:43Speaker 3: Staying third in that division, I think they have enough
- 3:46Speaker 3: talent to surpass Washington, not beating the gutter. But if
- 3:52Speaker 3: you're the Eagles and the Cowboys, boy, did you get
- 3:54Speaker 3: a gift last week. Because not only Dark goes down,
- 3:57Speaker 3: but so do Daniels go down. So now you have
- 3:59Speaker 3: two star quarterbacks in your division that goes down now.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I hate to say it, you hate to wish bad things,
- 4:06Speaker 3: but for the Cowboys and Eagles, they won twice on Sunday.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And speaking of the NFL, we got one tomorrow night,
- 4:12Speaker 2: Atlanta Falcons at the Green Bay Packers. Falcons look like
- 4:15Speaker 2: they may play Piddocks. They're a five point dog on
- 4:18Speaker 2: the road against the Packers. That totals at 43. You
- 4:22Speaker 2: would think, I mean, the betting public, I would assume, oh,
- 4:24Speaker 2: this is a slam dunk for the Packers.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Is it a slam dunk for the Packers?
- 4:29Speaker 3: I mean, if you looked at slam dunks in the NFL,
- 4:31Speaker 3: I think people thought the Baltimore Ravens were a slam dunk.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I thought people thought the Chargers were a slam dunk
- 4:37Speaker 3: last week. So you can't really use that kind of
- 4:39Speaker 3: reference anymore. But Penick's in it. How's their offense going
- 4:43Speaker 3: to be? Because right now, Atlanta's offense has been as
- 4:47Speaker 3: pitiful as the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense. So... The books are
- 4:51Speaker 3: going to be huge Falcon fans. I wouldn't be shocked
- 4:55Speaker 3: if this one closes around six, maybe even a six
- 4:58Speaker 3: and a half, because they're going to be a really
- 4:59Speaker 3: popular bet on Thursday.
- 5:02Speaker 2: No, I agree with you. All right, let's roll into
- 5:04Speaker 2: some college. We got one taste on Friday Night Liberty Coastal.
- 5:08Speaker 2: We won't touch that. When you get to your Friday
- 5:10Speaker 2: night games, I'm always looking. How about this one?
- 5:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't even call it an upset.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Clemson at Cal, 930 kick on the West Coast.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Clemson won't play Georgia.
- 5:21Speaker 2: In a non-conference game. They canned that one, them and
- 5:23Speaker 2: Georgia both. Cal is a one-point favorite. That total is
- 5:26Speaker 2: at 50-and-a-half. What do you think about Cal winning outright
- 5:28Speaker 2: in the under?
- 5:30Speaker 3: I mean, if you look at talent per talent, you
- 5:32Speaker 3: would think Clemson has the better talent on the football field.
- 5:36Speaker 3: But just because you have talent doesn't mean it can
- 5:40Speaker 3: play the game. How many times have we seen Miami,
- 5:42Speaker 3: we'll even put Florida State, having all this money of
- 5:46Speaker 3: transfers at NIL, and they just don't pan out.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I think the only team that's probably going to be
- 5:52Speaker 3: rooting for Clemson more is going to be LSU because
- 5:55Speaker 3: they need them to win games to be, hey, you
- 5:58Speaker 3: know what, we beat Clemson. If Clemson only has four
- 6:00Speaker 3: or five wins, then that win that LSU has in
- 6:03Speaker 3: their game one of their football season really is nothing
- 6:07Speaker 3: because so far everyone else has beaten Clemson. North Carolina
- 6:10Speaker 3: should have won that game last week. I'm leaning towards Cal, but, man,
- 6:15Speaker 3: it's really hard to take a bet against Clemson because
- 6:17Speaker 3: I think North Carolina is better than Cal.
- 6:20Speaker 1: No, I agree with you.
- 6:21Speaker 2: All right, let's roll into Saturday. 11 o'clock kick. Texas
- 6:24Speaker 2: at Tennessee. Texas is a five-point favorite on the road,
- 6:27Speaker 2: total of 56. I had a guest on out of
- 6:30Speaker 2: Louisiana today, and he brought some interesting nuggets that we
- 6:33Speaker 2: were just talking about this game in general. I didn't
- 6:35Speaker 2: realize Arch Manning has been putrid on the road as
- 6:38Speaker 2: a starting quarterback with Texas. Should have lost at Mississippi
- 6:41Speaker 2: State last year. They came back 17 down, won against
- 6:44Speaker 2: Kentucky by one to three. Lost to Georgia, got blown out.
- 6:48Speaker 2: They didn't look good for three quarters against Ohio State.
- 6:51Speaker 1: They did get the win.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Is the wrong team maybe favored here? Should this be
- 6:54Speaker 2: a pick-em?
- 6:56Speaker 3: I mean, if you throw Manning out to the side,
- 6:59Speaker 3: they still have a great run game. They still have
- 7:01Speaker 3: a really good offensive line. They still have a good
- 7:02Speaker 3: defense out there. I think what you said, his struggles
- 7:06Speaker 3: on the road, is the reason why this number is dropping.
- 7:09Speaker 3: It's going to open up at five and a half.
- 7:10Speaker 3: There's some four and a halves out there. So I
- 7:13Speaker 3: think this number continues to drop. I think Tennessee dog
- 7:16Speaker 3: money comes in. So if I get a better price
- 7:18Speaker 3: on the Longhorns, I'm probably going to jump on them.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Colorado is a 10-point dog at Baylor. That totals at 55.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Is that line too hot?
- 7:27Speaker 3: It is, and I do the TMR live show for
- 7:30Speaker 3: the Colorado Buffs with Dion and Chico and stuff like
- 7:34Speaker 3: that every Tuesday afternoon. And I told them, you need
- 7:38Speaker 3: to play like you did Georgia Tech. You need to
- 7:40Speaker 3: keep this an under game, because if it's a high
- 7:42Speaker 3: scoring game, no disrespect to the Colorado Buff fans that
- 7:44Speaker 3: I do every Tuesday night that were bashing me in
- 7:46Speaker 3: the chat. Then you're going to get blown out if
- 7:48Speaker 3: it's an offensive game. You need this to stay under
- 7:51Speaker 3: type of football, old, maybe Big Ten type of football,
- 7:56Speaker 3: run the ball, control the line of scrimmage. Then I
- 7:58Speaker 3: think Colorado can keep this interesting, but I just think
- 8:01Speaker 3: Baylor has the more talent. Now Deion's kicking guys off
- 8:04Speaker 3: the team because they were laughing at the embarrassing loss.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Not a good place right now.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, not a good place. Not a good place. Banning
- 8:11Speaker 1: the media, all the stuff that they're doing there.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Hey, Ohio State's a 27-point favorite, 11 o'clock kick against Illinois.
- 8:16Speaker 2: That's a 53-and-a-half point total. Is that line too big
- 8:20Speaker 2: for Ohio State to cover?
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. I think Illinois can, I don't
- 8:26Speaker 3: want to say make a game of it, but I
- 8:27Speaker 3: think make a game of it betting-wise. I can see,
- 8:30Speaker 3: you know, maybe Ohio State only winning by 20, 21
- 8:33Speaker 3: type of game. So I think Illinois is a live dog.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Are they a live dog to win? No.
- 8:38Speaker 2: No, I would agree with you that. We're visiting with
- 8:40Speaker 2: Rafael Esparza. He's going to tell you where all you
- 8:42Speaker 2: can find him here in a bit as we come
- 8:44Speaker 2: through some of these games. Hey, Notre Dame's taking on Purdue.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I don't know that there will be any interest outside
- 8:48Speaker 2: of the Domers for this. 27-and-a-half, that totals at 58.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I think the first three weeks.
- 8:54Speaker 1: They've hit a couple of these. They've missed one. Can
- 8:56Speaker 1: they cover the 27-and-a-half?
- 8:57Speaker 3: Hmm. I'm going to say no. This Purdue team is
- 9:03Speaker 3: one of the most eye-turning that I've seen so far.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I mean, I really like this quarterback. I really like
- 9:09Speaker 3: they've been playing defense. They can score. I kind of
- 9:13Speaker 3: like the over in this one. If you're Notre Dame,
- 9:15Speaker 3: you still need to put up a big number on
- 9:17Speaker 3: offense because you still need style points. And I think
- 9:19Speaker 3: Purdue can score on Notre Dame's defense. I kind of
- 9:22Speaker 3: like the over.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And Iowa-Michigan, a 230 game.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Iowa, a five-point dog in the big house. This total,
- 9:28Speaker 2: maybe the lowest total all weekend, 38.5. Is Iowa going
- 9:32Speaker 2: to drag Michigan down into the mud and make them
- 9:35Speaker 2: play a 10-7 ballgame?
- 9:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Michigan needs to put up 20-plus points if they
- 9:40Speaker 3: want a comfortable win because if it's an ugly 14-13
- 9:43Speaker 3: type of game in the fourth quarter, then Iowa's a really,
- 9:47Speaker 3: really live dog. But I think if Michigan can score
- 9:49Speaker 3: 20-plus points, I think they win easily.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Let's go back to that Ole Miss-Florida game you referenced.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Could be the best game of the weekend, For Ole Miss,
- 9:57Speaker 2: I've circled this week for months because I said I
- 10:00Speaker 2: wanted to see how Ole Miss, loss or win, come
- 10:05Speaker 2: off the hangover. You won the big game. It's been
- 10:08Speaker 2: the big media buzz. Now it's Florida.
- 10:11Speaker 1: It's football.
- 10:11Speaker 2: You're going to the swamp, a place where it's tough
- 10:13Speaker 2: to go play. Ole Miss, a slight favorite. I'm looking
- 10:16Speaker 2: at Florida minus three Uh, totals at 59 and you,
- 10:21Speaker 2: you probably know this stuff. Uh, you got all these stats.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Somebody told me on my show too, that, um, I
- 10:26Speaker 2: think the last 10 years, 20 years, when you see
- 10:30Speaker 2: a top 10 team go in and they're an underdog
- 10:32Speaker 2: on the road, they've lost those games. And some of
- 10:35Speaker 2: that might've come out of the big 12 or the
- 10:37Speaker 2: big 10, um, Ole Miss, are they in trouble here?
- 10:41Speaker 3: I think so, but it's all down to Florida. If
- 10:43Speaker 3: they can control the line of scrimmage, if they can
- 10:45Speaker 3: run the ball and keep Ohio State's offense shameless on
- 10:49Speaker 3: the sidelines, then yes, I think Ole Miss is in trouble.
- 10:51Speaker 3: If not, if Ole Miss can stop the run, which
- 10:54Speaker 3: I think Ole Miss did okay against LSU's run game,
- 10:57Speaker 3: if that's the case, then we're going to have a
- 10:59Speaker 3: nail-biter on this one. I think Florida can be able
- 11:01Speaker 3: to run the ball Man, just the fan list kid
- 11:04Speaker 3: was really impressive against LSU, especially in the fourth quarters.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I'm really high on him. But at the same time,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I'm really high on this Florida head coach that used
- 11:11Speaker 3: to be the Tulane head coach.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he's good.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Summerall is very good. Speaking of being good, Boise's pretty
- 11:16Speaker 2: darn good. They're giving all the respect to Western Michigan.
- 11:20Speaker 2: The Boise coach said, hey, they're undefeated in my mind.
- 11:23Speaker 2: They won the game at Michigan. We're not taking them lightly.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Boise's a seven-point favorite.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Totals at 50. Can Western Michigan take it into the fourth?
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yeah, this is not in a blue field. This is
- 11:32Speaker 3: in Western Michigan. So, yeah, I think this is going
- 11:34Speaker 3: to be a game Western Michigan can play. So this
- 11:36Speaker 3: is going to be very interesting. Yes, Boise State has
- 11:38Speaker 3: played some tough opponents. Don't forget, they had Oregon on
- 11:41Speaker 3: the ropes in week one. So I think this is
- 11:44Speaker 3: going to be a game. I can't wait to watch
- 11:46Speaker 3: this one. This is an exciting one.
- 11:47Speaker 1: No, I like this one. That's an under-the-radar game.
- 11:49Speaker 2: And speaking of games that won't fly under the radar, but, man, Oklahoma,
- 11:54Speaker 2: they are a 14-point dog at Georgia.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That total is at 44.5.
- 11:58Speaker 2: John Mateer looks good coming off the bus. He looks
- 12:01Speaker 2: good on the poster. He looks good in pregame warm-ups.
- 12:04Speaker 2: He is not good on the field, or at least
- 12:06Speaker 2: he hasn't shown it yet. They can't score, and they've
- 12:09Speaker 2: got to go to Georgia and play. Could this be
- 12:12Speaker 2: a– I mean, could Georgia cover this? And I'd say easily,
- 12:15Speaker 2: but like 28-7. I think so.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I think so. He's a deer in headlights when he's
- 12:22Speaker 3: back there. And then you put pressure on him. He
- 12:26Speaker 3: looks– Jameis Winston looks better than him when you put
- 12:28Speaker 3: pressure in. How did Jameis Winston play on Monday night? So, yeah,
- 12:32Speaker 3: this is a reason. I thought Oklahoma was going to
- 12:35Speaker 3: be a surprise team in the SEC. I thought their
- 12:38Speaker 3: defense was going to be impressive. Man, I was totally,
- 12:41Speaker 3: totally wrong. And just like how– I need to apologize
- 12:43Speaker 3: right now for your show. I said Mississippi State would
- 12:46Speaker 3: lose against South Carolina. I apologize. I'm really, really impressed
- 12:51Speaker 3: with this quarterback you have at Mississippi State. I'm hoping
- 12:53Speaker 3: he stays there and that's transferred somewhere else where he
- 12:56Speaker 3: gets more money. But, boy, he was impressive. Hats off
- 13:00Speaker 3: to you, Mississippi State fans. I was wrong.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Didn't you pick up Minnesota as well?
- 13:07Speaker 3: No, I had the under in that game.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Okay, you had the under in that game. All right,
- 13:10Speaker 1: we'll come back to that.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Hey, let me ask you this.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Why is nobody putting respect on Duke's name? They're the
- 13:14Speaker 2: ACC champs.
- 13:16Speaker 1: They're undefeated.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Now, they're going to kill William and Mary this week.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I wouldn't even play this one. 43 and a half
- 13:21Speaker 2: on the line, 62 and a half. But Duke is
- 13:24Speaker 2: getting zero respect this year.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah. Because we're forced to talk about your SEC. We're
- 13:32Speaker 3: forced to talk about my Big Ten who keeps on
- 13:34Speaker 3: winning national championships. So, I mean, I think that's why
- 13:37Speaker 3: no one's talking. And then when we do talk about ACC,
- 13:39Speaker 3: we either want to make fun of Clemson or North Carolina.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Or, you know, Flex Miami.
- 13:45Speaker 3: We should be talking more about Virginia Tech, too. Virginia Tech, very,
- 13:48Speaker 3: very quiet. They've been very impressive.
- 13:50Speaker 1: No, they have.
- 13:51Speaker 3: They have.
- 13:51Speaker 2: All right, Vanderbilt gets by on a one-in-a-million shot. They
- 13:55Speaker 2: hit the lottery last week against NC State. They go
- 13:58Speaker 2: into Auburn coming off a loss against Florida. Auburn's a
- 14:01Speaker 2: nine and a half point favorite. That totals at 55.
- 14:05Speaker 2: That line feels too big for me for Auburn to cover.
- 14:08Speaker 4: It does.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I can see Auburn winning by center, but I feel bad.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Vanderbilt under total season wins is probably one of the
- 14:13Speaker 3: most popular bet all summer long. And I'm sure people
- 14:17Speaker 3: who bet the under really thought, OK, this one's going
- 14:20Speaker 3: to be a loss against NC State. And now you
- 14:22Speaker 3: have a W. So now you have to sweat. for
- 14:25Speaker 3: the whole rest of the season for Vanderbilt. So, I
- 14:27Speaker 3: like Auburn in this one. I don't think they cover.
- 14:29Speaker 3: I got them waiting by a touchdown.
- 14:32Speaker 2: So, Michigan, I saw a report today by Sports Business Journal.
- 14:35Speaker 2: They're publicly saying, hey, we got to put more money
- 14:37Speaker 2: into the program. Like, we want to be one of
- 14:39Speaker 2: the top spenders. We want to be in the game.
- 14:41Speaker 2: We'll see if they do that. They're a five-and-a-half point
- 14:43Speaker 2: favorite over Michigan State. That totals at 48-and-a-half. Do they
- 14:46Speaker 2: keep it rolling here?
- 14:48Speaker 3: One thing about Michigan State, this Fitzpatrick or Fitzgerald, He
- 14:52Speaker 3: plays defense. He played it in Northwestern. He always played
- 14:55Speaker 3: good defense, and they're going to play the same good
- 14:56Speaker 3: defense on Saturday. I wouldn't think Michigan State's going to
- 15:01Speaker 3: be a pushover because of how they play defense.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Oregon, you referenced them earlier. They look like absolute poo-poo
- 15:08Speaker 2: so far. They've got to go to the Coliseum. They're
- 15:09Speaker 2: a three-point favorite. It feels like the wrong team's favorite here.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Totals at 62. Will the real Oregon stand up, or
- 15:15Speaker 2: does Lincoln Riley get a signature win here and get
- 15:17Speaker 2: the boosters off his back?
- 15:19Speaker 3: But first of all, last week I said bet the
- 15:22Speaker 3: over in the Portland State-Oregon. It opened up at 67.5.
- 15:26Speaker 3: On your show, it was 69.5. It closed at 72.5,
- 15:29Speaker 3: and it didn't matter because they scored 88 points. So
- 15:34Speaker 3: I really want to take the over on this one
- 15:36Speaker 3: at 62.5 because, I mean, Boise State was able to score.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Oklahoma State put some points on them. USC's defense has
- 15:44Speaker 3: looked pretty good. If Oregon loses this game, they're done.
- 15:50Speaker 3: They're not going to be in a national championship talk anymore.
- 15:54Speaker 3: USC wasn't in the talk to be a national champion
- 15:57Speaker 3: in the college football playoffs. So I think this is
- 16:00Speaker 3: a game that Oregon needs. I'm really looking to see
- 16:03Speaker 3: if this total drops. I want to play the over,
- 16:06Speaker 3: but 62 is such a big number.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it really is.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Hey, Texas A & M' s got quarterback problems, offensive line problems.
- 16:12Speaker 2: They let Kentucky come into their own house and beat them.
- 16:14Speaker 1: They go to LSU.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Both these teams are walking wounded. LSU minus eight and
- 16:19Speaker 2: a half. That totals at 52. What is the right play.
- 16:22Speaker 1: On this one?
- 16:23Speaker 3: That the over would be, but they're all banged up
- 16:25Speaker 3: on both sides of the ball. So I don't know.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I think LSU wins this way. I can't believe I
- 16:32Speaker 3: gave two breaths of Texas A & M maybe being
- 16:36Speaker 3: back in college football, and they just laid a complete
- 16:38Speaker 3: egg to Big Blue Nation last week. So this is
- 16:41Speaker 3: probably the only time I'm actually going to be rooting
- 16:43Speaker 3: for LSU because I'm tired of Texas A & M
- 16:47Speaker 3: football talk. I'm tired of Nebraska football talk. I hope
- 16:51Speaker 3: they get crushed by 59-0.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Let's get one more. We'll go to the NFL real quick.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Mississippi State, you referenced the Bulldogs. They play Missouri in Starkville.
- 17:01Speaker 2: It'll be the best crowd and atmosphere they've had probably
- 17:04Speaker 2: since Dan Mullen brought Florida in there and Joe Moorhead
- 17:06Speaker 2: was there. Dogs are a six-and-a-half point favorite. Totals at 59.
- 17:12Speaker 2: State is 3-0 against the numbers so far this year.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Can they keep it up at home?
- 17:18Speaker 3: You have a lot of Mississippi State fans that watch
- 17:20Speaker 3: your show. The Bulldogs, they call in sometimes on your
- 17:24Speaker 3: show when I'm there. They have won both times that
- 17:27Speaker 3: I said they might lose or they will lose. Give
- 17:31Speaker 3: me Missouri on this one. I'm going to keep the
- 17:33Speaker 3: trend going. I'm going to take the Missouri Tigers to
- 17:36Speaker 3: win this game so the Bulldogs fans can be happy
- 17:40Speaker 3: with me on Wednesday, the next Wednesday.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, they'll ask you to please never pick them if
- 17:47Speaker 2: they win on Saturday. All right, let's jump into some
- 17:50Speaker 2: NFL before we let you out of here. We've got
- 17:52Speaker 2: the Bengals at the Steelers. The Steelers are a three-and-a-half
- 17:56Speaker 2: point dog at home. I don't know what's going on
- 17:58Speaker 2: with Aaron Rodgers.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Maybe it's age.
- 17:59Speaker 2: That total is at 42-and-a-half.
- 18:02Speaker 1: You like Joe Burrow, Joey B., or you like Aaron
- 18:05Speaker 1: Rodgers to bounce back here?
- 18:07Speaker 3: I thought the Bengals, if healthy and if their defense
- 18:09Speaker 3: were improved, they would win that division. I was not
- 18:11Speaker 3: sold on Baltimore Ravens coming into the season. They lose
- 18:15Speaker 3: last week. Pittsburgh's just awful. Their offense is awful. And
- 18:19Speaker 3: if he keeps on struggling, that's you, Aaron Rodgers, who
- 18:21Speaker 3: keeps on throwing every girlfriend and ex-fiancee underneath the bus.
- 18:25Speaker 3: If you can't bench him, if he gets hurt, it's
- 18:28Speaker 3: Mason Rudolph that's next. It's not like you have a
- 18:30Speaker 3: top rookie or first-year quarterback behind him. It's going to
- 18:35Speaker 3: be a long season in Pittsburgh if they don't turn
- 18:37Speaker 3: things around. And DK Metcalf keeps on dropping passes.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I guess he's worried about falling off the end of
- 18:42Speaker 2: the earth since he's a flat earther.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And that's him, not me. All right, we've got a
- 18:47Speaker 1: big one in the AFC.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Patriots, Jaguars. This is a 12 o'clock kick. Jags minus three.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Total at 45.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Man, New England, they're at the Super Bowl. And Drake
- 18:56Speaker 3: Mayne looks like sophomore slump is really– nipping him or something.
- 19:01Speaker 3: I'm sold. I'm not sold on why they're struggling, but
- 19:05Speaker 3: I'm going to take Jacksonville. They had Denver in the
- 19:08Speaker 3: ropes until after halftime and then Bo Nix, and they
- 19:10Speaker 3: were able to run the ball. I think Jacksonville bounces back.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Ravens are a slight favorite over Dallas, minus three and
- 19:16Speaker 2: a half in Big D. That totals at 53. Dallas
- 19:21Speaker 2: got the bounce back last week. They get two in
- 19:23Speaker 2: a row here.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I think the Saints were able to score pretty much
- 19:27Speaker 3: at will against their Baltimore defense and Cowboys offense is
- 19:32Speaker 3: pretty impressive. There's only one thing to look at this one.
- 19:34Speaker 3: I like the over. I mean, I really thought this
- 19:37Speaker 3: total would open up around 54 and a half 55.
- 19:39Speaker 3: So I think there's really good value. I think it's
- 19:41Speaker 3: going to be a high scoring Sunday night game.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And let's go ahead and let's get to the Monday
- 19:45Speaker 2: night game. Philly at Chicago, Caleb Williams getting clowned online
- 19:50Speaker 2: for what looks.
- 19:51Speaker 1: To be a hamstring injury.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Eagles are a five-point favorite on Monday night.
- 19:54Speaker 1: That totals at 41.
- 19:57Speaker 3: That just tells you that the Bears have zero possibility
- 20:01Speaker 3: that Williams is going to play. Their backup has a
- 20:03Speaker 3: concussion protocol. I like the Eagles in this spot. And
- 20:08Speaker 3: I'm going to I'm not going to jump on Caleb
- 20:10Speaker 3: Williams' side, but I think the precautionary reason was, A,
- 20:13Speaker 3: the field was awful because of the weather. I think
- 20:17Speaker 3: that's why they took the card out and stuff like that,
- 20:20Speaker 3: because I think it was the weather and the field itself.
- 20:22Speaker 3: If it was a sunny day in Chicago, I don't
- 20:24Speaker 3: think they would have brought the card out. But I'm
- 20:27Speaker 3: going to give them a little bit of slack.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Sparza, tell everybody where to find you. And, of course,
- 20:31Speaker 2: they can find you with us tomorrow at.
- 20:33Speaker 3: 430 on The Drive. Yeah, you can find me tomorrow
- 20:36Speaker 3: at 4.30. You can find me on x at bsi.sports.
- 20:39Speaker 3: You can find me on Instagram at Rafael Esparza. And
- 20:42Speaker 3: you also can find me over at my bookie. Don't
- 20:44Speaker 3: forget to use the promo code patio. We just put
- 20:46Speaker 3: up some great boxing profits. Who Ryan Garcia is going
- 20:49Speaker 3: to fight next? If you like politics, I just revised
- 20:52Speaker 3: the Senate odds and the governor odds for November primaries.
- 20:56Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Let's get to some political odds. Esparza, we'll talk to
- 20:59Speaker 2: you tomorrow. See you.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Take it easy.
- 21:01Speaker 1: See you. Let's bring in Joseph.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Lissy and, of course, Sirius XM Satellite Radio. And you
- 21:08Speaker 2: can find him at Go4The2. Lissy, welcome in, brother.
- 21:11Speaker 4: How you doing? Doing well, Jake.
- 21:13Speaker 5: You got me after a gym night, so I got
- 21:16Speaker 5: the baseball hat on.
- 21:17Speaker 4: But I can't wait for week four. Let me just
- 21:20Speaker 4: say this.
- 21:20Speaker 5: I mean, week three was good, and we had some
- 21:23Speaker 5: upsets and crazy finishes. Vanderbilt and NC State. But these
- 21:27Speaker 5: are the games where... We're really going to see which
- 21:30Speaker 5: teams in both the Big Ten and SEC are contenders
- 21:33Speaker 5: or pretenders with about six or seven great games, and
- 21:37Speaker 5: I can't wait to see how it all plays out Saturday.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I can't wait for Saturday.
- 21:41Speaker 2: It's going to be a fun, long– it's something about
- 21:44Speaker 2: a long Saturday, and I know you're probably just like me,
- 21:46Speaker 2: where you'll do a show probably or you'll come off
- 21:50Speaker 2: a show on a Friday, settle in on a Saturday,
- 21:52Speaker 2: and you're there until 10 or 11 o'clock at night,
- 21:55Speaker 2: and it's like we just can't get enough of it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: College football is so fun.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Yeah, and I love the fact that that Texas-Tennessee game
- 22:00Speaker 5: is a noon kick. I mean, I hate night games,
- 22:05Speaker 5: and I know in historic Vegas they love it and.
- 22:07Speaker 4: All, and that's great. I get it.
- 22:09Speaker 5: I get certain atmospheres, but I don't want to see
- 22:11Speaker 5: every big game... played at a 7 or an 8
- 22:14Speaker 5: o'clock window. I used to love Keith Jackson growing up, 3.30 window.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Some of the biggest games, even when I was working
- 22:21Speaker 5: at ABC, was the 3.30 window. That was the prime
- 22:25Speaker 5: time window. It wasn't until obviously around like 2010, 2011,
- 22:29Speaker 5: that they really made a big push for that prime
- 22:33Speaker 5: time matchup. But give me the 3.30 window every day, especially.
- 22:37Speaker 5: I mean, when you talk SEC games, Like certain stadiums,
- 22:42Speaker 5: like even Death Valley, LSU, the Tigers play better at night.
- 22:46Speaker 5: But the way the shadows come in in Baton Rouge,
- 22:49Speaker 5: on the plains in Auburn when we get the Iron
- 22:52Speaker 5: Bowl at 3.30, 4 o'clock, I mean, it's just great.
- 22:55Speaker 5: I love the atmosphere at 3.30 in the SEC, and
- 22:58Speaker 5: that's what I miss, baby.
- 23:00Speaker 1: No, I agree with you 100%.
- 23:01Speaker 2: All right, let's jump right into it. Let's go right
- 23:04Speaker 2: to that 11 o'clock game. Texas at Tennessee, Tennessee minus
- 23:08Speaker 2: five on the line, depending on where you shop it at.
- 23:10Speaker 2: And the total is at 56. And I had a
- 23:12Speaker 2: guest on today, and I did not know this. He
- 23:14Speaker 2: said Arch Manning, he was out of ESPN Radio in
- 23:18Speaker 2: Baton Rouge, and we were just touching this game.
- 23:20Speaker 1: He said Arch Manning.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Hasn't been good on the road. I mean, they had
- 23:23Speaker 2: to come back and beat Mississippi State last year down
- 23:26Speaker 2: by 17. They barely beat Kentucky, got killed by Georgia.
- 23:30Speaker 2: This is not a tough place to go play in Knoxville.
- 23:32Speaker 5: No, it's I mean, you know, last year, Tennessee was
- 23:36Speaker 5: like mediocre at home.
- 23:38Speaker 4: They were four and three at home. They had a
- 23:39Speaker 4: couple of losses.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Vanderbilt and Oklahoma stand out at the end of the
- 23:43Speaker 5: regular season, typically under Joss Heupel. Even going back to
- 23:47Speaker 5: the days of Hendon Hooker, they've been a dominant home team.
- 23:50Speaker 5: You know, for the most part, they were over 800,
- 23:52Speaker 5: 900 winning percentage prior to last year. Last year, they
- 23:56Speaker 5: slipped off. And I agree with you about Arch. I've
- 23:58Speaker 5: said it. They were four and three straight up in
- 24:00Speaker 5: road environments. And you mentioned Ohio State. You mentioned Georgia.
- 24:04Speaker 5: And then Florida, where they were two and a half
- 24:06Speaker 5: point favorites. That line opened up in a similar weekend
- 24:10Speaker 5: at six and a half, similar to what we're seeing
- 24:12Speaker 5: at Tennessee. And then you mentioned the two overtime games
- 24:15Speaker 5: with Kentucky and Miss State. They win but don't cover.
- 24:18Speaker 5: They were two and five ATS last year. Again, yes,
- 24:22Speaker 5: I take that all into account. But I also take
- 24:24Speaker 5: into account the other aspect. which is Faison Brandon and
- 24:28Speaker 5: this offense are similar to where Arch and Texas were
- 24:31Speaker 5: last year. You have a quarterback that has all the athleticism,
- 24:35Speaker 5: all the hype, but he's still inexperienced. You know, go
- 24:39Speaker 5: back to the Georgia Tech game. What did he complete?
- 24:41Speaker 5: 11 of 21 or 11, 10 of 21 for 141 yards.
- 24:46Speaker 5: He doesn't have the best defense in this matchup. Now,
- 24:49Speaker 5: Texas will be without Hollywood Smothers, potentially, but I don't
- 24:52Speaker 5: think it matters. I mean, running back, as long as
- 24:54Speaker 5: the offensive line is opening up holes, it's one of
- 24:57Speaker 5: the most plug-and-play type of positions that you could get
- 25:00Speaker 5: in college and NFL action.
- 25:02Speaker 4: So not worried about that.
- 25:04Speaker 5: I just think that if the game falls on FaZe
- 25:06Speaker 5: and Brandon, I'm concerned. and both teams will want to
- 25:10Speaker 5: run the football, but I still think Texas has to
- 25:13Speaker 5: show it. Here's the thing. The line is fishy. Not
- 25:16Speaker 5: going to deny it, but also they instill the line
- 25:18Speaker 5: to make short bettors think, why is this line like that?
- 25:22Speaker 5: And this is the where's Waldo weekend. Don't dummy it down. Just, hey,
- 25:26Speaker 5: just untrain your eyes. Go with what you know, and
- 25:29Speaker 5: that's Texas to me, is the more complete team. Might
- 25:32Speaker 5: be close for a half, but I think they pull
- 25:34Speaker 5: away in the second half and cover this easy.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Totally agree. Totally agree with that.
- 25:38Speaker 2: All right, so 38-and-a-half is the total for Iowa and Michigan.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Michigan has been– they got.
- 25:45Speaker 1: The win over Oklahoma.
- 25:46Speaker 2: We'll get to Oklahoma here in a bit over in Georgia. But, man,
- 25:49Speaker 2: is Iowa going to pull them down in the mud
- 25:51Speaker 2: and play a 17-10 ballgame?
- 25:53Speaker 5: I think they have to, right? And then Phil Parker's
- 25:56Speaker 5: one of the best defensive coordinators. And think about last year,
- 26:00Speaker 5: four games. I think they lost all four, Jake, by 3.7
- 26:03Speaker 5: points per game. Now, granted, they had that fluke Fernando
- 26:07Speaker 5: Mendoza safety and whatever that was at the end of Indiana,
- 26:11Speaker 5: but they were still toe-to-toe with the Hoosiers in that matchup. And,
- 26:15Speaker 5: you know, defensively, You look at 66 rushing yards allowed,
- 26:20Speaker 5: only 119 passing yards allowed, plus three or four in
- 26:23Speaker 5: turnover margin and only 23, 24 percent third down defense.
- 26:28Speaker 5: And they're averaging 268 on the ground.
- 26:31Speaker 4: And they threw for 206, which is untypical of Iowa. Right.
- 26:35Speaker 5: So they got a little Hank Brown in the backups.
- 26:37Speaker 5: Kalinsky can sling it a little bit with that offense.
- 26:42Speaker 5: I don't believe in Bryce Underwood, big picture. I think
- 26:44Speaker 5: he's a great athlete. I still think he's an inconsistent quarterback.
- 26:47Speaker 5: He sort of reminds me. of Nico at Tennessee with
- 26:52Speaker 5: all the hype, all the, you know, we want to
- 26:55Speaker 5: see it and you see glimpses, but you never see
- 26:58Speaker 5: the big picture. And I'm just going to go with
- 27:00Speaker 5: the more methodical team on the road. I think both
- 27:03Speaker 5: teams could struggle. I think it's a lower scoring game,
- 27:06Speaker 5: but I still believe Iowa has the type of defense
- 27:09Speaker 5: to pull this out. And I'm going to go with
- 27:11Speaker 5: the five and a half points and I think they
- 27:13Speaker 5: win it on the money line as well.
- 27:16Speaker 2: You mentioned Indiana and I just thought of something. Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 2: We haven't talked about Indiana. And I know they haven't
- 27:23Speaker 2: played anybody. And they just got two players through this
- 27:25Speaker 2: NCAA petition that are going to get back on this
- 27:28Speaker 2: roster that have been practicing. It's the quietest buzz of
- 27:31Speaker 2: a defending national champion that I've seen.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and they play on Friday night. We're going to
- 27:36Speaker 4: see that game. It seems a little.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Not fishy, but by Indiana standards, they're 0-3 against the number,
- 27:42Speaker 5: and they play Northwestern coming off a dominating home win
- 27:45Speaker 5: over Colorado, right? So we're going to see that. I
- 27:48Speaker 5: agree with you. Again, you talk about, hey, is Indiana
- 27:52Speaker 5: going to be undefeated? Probably not. Maybe they're 10-2 or 11-1,
- 27:55Speaker 5: but they're going to be there. I tell you what,
- 27:58Speaker 5: if they don't win the Big Ten and it's an
- 28:01Speaker 5: at-large between Indiana or Oregon at this point, hands down,
- 28:05Speaker 5: I don't care if Indiana hasn't played anybody. I'm taking
- 28:08Speaker 5: the defending national champs because Oregon, to me, has more
- 28:12Speaker 5: holes and more question marks entering week four than any
- 28:15Speaker 5: other team, even outside of Oklahoma. I mean, you think
- 28:19Speaker 5: about the questions about this team is ridiculous. but I'm
- 28:22Speaker 5: with you. I think nobody's talking about Georgia either. And
- 28:25Speaker 5: I know they haven't played anybody. Arkansas was a layup,
- 28:28Speaker 5: you know, with KJ Jackson and Braylon Allen in that offense.
- 28:31Speaker 5: But I mean, entering that game, they were averaging 66.7
- 28:34Speaker 5: points per game. I mean, you know, I think this
- 28:37Speaker 5: is the biggest, you know, I still say most complete team.
- 28:42Speaker 5: I think if you're asking me, Georgia, Indiana, and you
- 28:46Speaker 5: want to throw one of the three in there. I
- 28:48Speaker 5: still think Texas, Ohio State maybe, but I think it's one, two.
- 28:52Speaker 5: I think Indiana and Georgia have a good argument at
- 28:56Speaker 5: this point.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Ole Miss is a three-point dog on the road at Florida.
- 29:01Speaker 1: That totals at 59.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Can the Rebs, you know, come down off the clouds
- 29:06Speaker 2: here and play a football game?
- 29:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's possible.
- 29:08Speaker 5: But here's the thing, though, Jake, and we're an SEC country,
- 29:11Speaker 5: so I.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Need to ask you. You would think, right?
- 29:15Speaker 5: Tell me if I'm wrong. I was wrong on the
- 29:17Speaker 5: Auburn game. I thought Byron Brown and Golich would step
- 29:20Speaker 5: up at home. But you would think from all these
- 29:23Speaker 5: Gator fans, Steve Spurrier coached that team last week, and
- 29:26Speaker 5: they won the Natty with Danny Werfel.
- 29:29Speaker 4: It's 1999. I mean, you would think the Gator fans,
- 29:32Speaker 4: and I understand. I get it.
- 29:35Speaker 5: After last year with all the optimism and Billy Napier
- 29:38Speaker 5: laying an egg. But, I mean, particularly, the brakes. Bear
- 29:42Speaker 5: Bryant didn't coach them last week. We're hearing it on Feinbaum, and, oh,
- 29:46Speaker 5: they missed out on Auburn, messed up. John Summerall, they
- 29:50Speaker 5: were going to get a quality win. They were supposed
- 29:53Speaker 5: to win that game at two-and-a-half-point favor. I'm not taking
- 29:57Speaker 5: away from John Summerall. They got their first road win
- 29:59Speaker 5: in over a year. That's a gutty win, and they
- 30:02Speaker 5: stepped up 243 on the ground. And Jaden Baugh's a
- 30:05Speaker 5: very good running back.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Again, that too.
- 30:08Speaker 5: I mean, we're anointing Jaden Baugh like he's Emmitt Smith
- 30:11Speaker 5: at this point in the season. I'm just saying, Gator fans,
- 30:13Speaker 5: pump the brakes a little bit. That being said, Jake,
- 30:17Speaker 5: you got the best player.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Look.
- 30:20Speaker 5: Best player on the field is still Trinidad Chambliss. He's
- 30:23Speaker 5: a franchise guy. I don't care if Kiwan Lacy doesn't play.
- 30:28Speaker 5: I think this team is legitimately a top-five team. He
- 30:32Speaker 5: is the hands-down, him and Mensah, the best quarterback. I
- 30:37Speaker 5: don't care if the defense shows up and gives up
- 30:39Speaker 5: 300 yards rushing. He can have that team in the
- 30:42Speaker 5: game and covering that number by himself. Give me the Rebs.
- 30:46Speaker 5: I think they pull it out right. I think Florida's
- 30:48Speaker 5: maybe a good team, not an elite team.
- 30:51Speaker 4: I'll take the Rebs.
- 30:52Speaker 2: No, I agree with you. We're right on the same page.
- 30:54Speaker 2: All right, you mentioned Georgia. They took care of Arkansas.
- 30:57Speaker 2: It was like a glorified scrimmage. They're a 14-point favorite
- 30:59Speaker 2: of Oklahoma. We've talked about John Mateer looking the part,
- 31:03Speaker 2: not being the guy.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I don't know how Oklahoma scores.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I mean, I'm trying to be funny.
- 31:08Speaker 4: No, I know. I'm with you. 109 rushing yards per
- 31:11Speaker 4: game on the ground.
- 31:12Speaker 5: I mean, how do you go on the road to
- 31:15Speaker 5: Athens with a defense that's holding opposing offenses to less
- 31:19Speaker 5: than three yards per rush? knowing how physical the defense is.
- 31:23Speaker 5: They got a rushing attack. They've rushed for over 200
- 31:25Speaker 5: in all three games this year. They are now 56-1
- 31:28Speaker 5: straight up, dating back to 2016. every time they rush
- 31:32Speaker 5: for over 200 against FCS and FBS opponents. The gutter
- 31:37Speaker 5: Stockton prior to last week, people say he's a game manager. Well,
- 31:41Speaker 5: if he continues at this pace, Jake, he's going to
- 31:44Speaker 5: set the completion percentage record that Bo Nix did at Oregon.
- 31:48Speaker 4: He was completing.
- 31:49Speaker 5: 87% of his passes heading into that game last week.
- 31:53Speaker 5: I mean, you know, give the guy a little props.
- 31:55Speaker 5: He's better than a game manager. I just, I'm with you. Look,
- 32:00Speaker 5: how does Oklahoma stay in the game? Have you listened
- 32:03Speaker 5: to the press conferences with Mateer? What happened to this guy?
- 32:06Speaker 4: No confidence.
- 32:08Speaker 5: I don't know what happened. He played better when he
- 32:11Speaker 5: hurt his thumb last year. I don't know what's going on, but.
- 32:15Speaker 5: I could only look dogs. It's not on like the
- 32:17Speaker 5: best bet, but it's Georgia or bust. I think Georgia
- 32:20Speaker 5: is on a mission to just steamroll everybody until late October, November.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 32:26Speaker 2: You referenced Oregon. They're out in California this week or
- 32:30Speaker 2: this weekend, taking on USC at the Coliseum. It's a
- 32:32Speaker 2: big one for Lincoln Riley. It's a big one for
- 32:34Speaker 2: Dan Lanning. It's a three point spread. You know, at
- 32:37Speaker 2: this point I have, I have no, I have no
- 32:39Speaker 2: faith in Oregon. I have faith in Dan Lanning, but man,
- 32:42Speaker 2: it looks like, you know, they could be, walking into
- 32:44Speaker 2: a hornet's nest out there.
- 32:45Speaker 4: It is.
- 32:46Speaker 5: And so people like, you know, I couldn't bet the
- 32:48Speaker 5: game in Rutgers last week because it was Jersey.
- 32:51Speaker 4: Right.
- 32:51Speaker 5: But people were like, oh, they should kill Rutgers. And
- 32:54Speaker 5: I'm like, you know, pump the brakes a little bit.
- 32:56Speaker 5: They were just five and eight entering that game straight
- 32:59Speaker 5: up on the road or on a neutral field, you know,
- 33:02Speaker 5: heading over the past couple of seasons.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Right.
- 33:05Speaker 5: And they were last year 0-4-2 against the spread on
- 33:08Speaker 5: the road. So now they go into Rutgers, and Rutgers
- 33:12Speaker 5: has hosted Louisville. Back in the day, I was at
- 33:15Speaker 5: that game when they beat Bobby Petrino. But Michigan, Ohio State,
- 33:20Speaker 5: to have a West Coast team like– you could have
- 33:23Speaker 5: UCLA or Cal come in there, but to have USC
- 33:27Speaker 5: come to Piscataway, those kids from New Jersey take that
- 33:30Speaker 5: as like, you know, it's like old school. So they
- 33:32Speaker 5: were going to be up for that game and giving
- 33:35Speaker 5: them 24 and a half points in a primetime 330
- 33:38Speaker 5: matchup was just a bad spot for USC, especially with
- 33:42Speaker 5: a potential look ahead for Oregon. That being said, Lincoln Riley, right,
- 33:47Speaker 5: both coaches technically haven't won a big game. Lanning wins
- 33:50Speaker 5: in the regular season, can't really get it done in
- 33:52Speaker 5: the postseason. But Lincoln Riley at home, Jake, is 10-0
- 33:57Speaker 5: dating back to all last year. They've won in the
- 33:59Speaker 5: Coliseum by 24.8 points per game. That's what I know.
- 34:04Speaker 5: They are a much better home team than they are
- 34:06Speaker 5: on the road. I like King Miller. I like the
- 34:09Speaker 5: rushing attack. I think Maiava is a little bit more consistent.
- 34:12Speaker 4: And I like Harry Patterson with that defense.
- 34:15Speaker 5: I don't think it's the days of, you know, 2001
- 34:17Speaker 5: or 2003 with Pete Carroll, but I still think they're
- 34:20Speaker 5: good enough to force a turnover. I'm not sold on
- 34:23Speaker 5: Dante Moore. And you bring up Lanning. How does your
- 34:27Speaker 5: team come out flat when you're picked to win the
- 34:30Speaker 5: natty by multiple sources? You have a quarterback that foregone
- 34:36Speaker 5: the NFL draft and you come out flat and back
- 34:39Speaker 5: to back weeks against Boise and Oklahoma State.
- 34:43Speaker 4: They lose this game. They are they are potentially out
- 34:47Speaker 4: of the playoff. I'm sorry.
- 34:48Speaker 5: I know they would only have two losses and they
- 34:50Speaker 5: have pickup games, Ohio state, Washington, Michigan.
- 34:53Speaker 4: I get it.
- 34:54Speaker 5: But from a mentality perspective to have two losses before
- 34:58Speaker 5: you get into October, they could be dead and buried.
- 35:01Speaker 5: I'm taking USC.
- 35:02Speaker 2: No, again, we're right on the same page. And look, that's,
- 35:05Speaker 2: I mean, they could be, and they would be probably
- 35:07Speaker 2: dead and buried. They'd have zero room for margin.
- 35:10Speaker 4: Right. Can I ask you one question?
- 35:13Speaker 5: If they lose another game, let's say a 9-3 Oregon
- 35:17Speaker 5: team that has the Oklahoma State loss, the USC loss,
- 35:21Speaker 5: and we'll give them one of the big three, Ohio State, Michigan,
- 35:25Speaker 5: or Washington, right? If it's between them or an SEC
- 35:29Speaker 5: team or someone else in the Big 12, Are we
- 35:34Speaker 5: for sure that Oregon's getting that nod over anybody else
- 35:37Speaker 5: with that Oklahoma State loss?
- 35:39Speaker 1: No, not at all. Not at all.
- 35:41Speaker 2: The committee would have some work to do, but if
- 35:44Speaker 2: you took a 9-3 Alabama team that maybe had a
- 35:46Speaker 2: loss to.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Georgia and their losses... I don't know that Oregon would
- 35:50Speaker 1: get that nod.
- 35:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Oregon's in the same spot that Texas
- 35:53Speaker 5: was last year, where it looked good at home. But
- 35:57Speaker 5: if you don't have a quality road win under your belt,
- 36:00Speaker 5: you're not getting in. I mean, unless it's against a
- 36:03Speaker 5: top 10 opponent, where is the quality road victories? They're
- 36:08Speaker 5: similar to where Texas was last year, right? They said, oh,
- 36:12Speaker 5: we beat Vanderbilt, we beat this. But they got boat
- 36:15Speaker 5: raced by Georgia by 25, and that's why they didn't
- 36:18Speaker 5: get in last year.
- 36:20Speaker 1: No, I agree with you.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and they have zero room for error if they
- 36:22Speaker 2: lose this week. Speaking of errors and zero room, Texas
- 36:26Speaker 2: A & M is down at LSU. Somebody's going to
- 36:27Speaker 2: take two losses. A & M has not looked good.
- 36:31Speaker 2: They've had to replace a lot of offensive starters. Their
- 36:33Speaker 2: quarterback has not looked the best. I'd like LSU in
- 36:37Speaker 2: the home setting.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Jake, maybe I'm a homer. You know, I like A
- 36:42Speaker 5: & M. They've won two straight in the series. I'm
- 36:46Speaker 5: still not sold on this Blake Baker defense. I mean,
- 36:48Speaker 5: we talk about– I talked about mobile quarterbacks. Yeah, Trinidad
- 36:52Speaker 5: Chambliss statistically only had, what, two yards rushing? But at
- 36:55Speaker 5: the end of the day, he buried them when he
- 36:58Speaker 5: got outside the pocket, when he scored the touchdown. He
- 37:01Speaker 5: extended plays, keeping his eyes downfield. That's what happens when
- 37:05Speaker 5: you rush the kitchen sink away from the edge and
- 37:08Speaker 5: leave running lanes up the middle. And last year, Marcel
- 37:11Speaker 5: Reed abused them for a buck eight on the ground
- 37:14Speaker 5: and two touchdowns. Without Trey Des Green, I don't know.
- 37:18Speaker 5: I mean, both teams are coming off a loss. LSU
- 37:21Speaker 5: is supposed to win this game.
- 37:23Speaker 1: They're at home.
- 37:24Speaker 5: This was the Brian Kelly game where he was fired
- 37:27Speaker 5: after this game last year, right?
- 37:29Speaker 4: I just go back to this.
- 37:31Speaker 5: Texas A & M with the defensive coach, if we're
- 37:33Speaker 5: talking both teams to get up, It's going to be
- 37:36Speaker 5: Elko on the defensive adjustments, right? He's going to make
- 37:39Speaker 5: sure his defense is tight in this game. And that's
- 37:43Speaker 5: where I lean to A & M. I don't love
- 37:45Speaker 5: Marcel Reed. I don't love Sam Levitt. But Reed can run.
- 37:49Speaker 5: And I know LSU can't stop mobile guys. So I'm
- 37:52Speaker 5: going to take the points.
- 37:54Speaker 4: But again.
- 37:56Speaker 5: it wouldn't shock me if LSU pulls it out. They're
- 37:58Speaker 5: supposed to pull it out though. This is why you
- 38:01Speaker 5: come from, this is why the $ 91 million guy is
- 38:05Speaker 5: in bad. If he can't win this game, they're going
- 38:08Speaker 5: to be saying what happened, right?
- 38:10Speaker 4: Two losses for him too.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Yeah, no, you're right.
- 38:13Speaker 2: I mean, it's a lot of pressure on him and
- 38:15Speaker 2: nobody's going to want to hear his excuses like he's
- 38:16Speaker 2: done this week of, you know, saying, Hey, you know,
- 38:19Speaker 2: if we would have played Ohio state and if anybody
- 38:21Speaker 2: be criticized at a comeback.
- 38:23Speaker 1: So yeah. I just want to.
- 38:25Speaker 5: Be– the fans in Miss State hate me anyway, so
- 38:28Speaker 5: hang on. Is the week one win over Clemson more
- 38:34Speaker 5: indicative of LSU or watching Clemson struggle with NC, knowing
- 38:39Speaker 5: how bad or mediocre they might be? I think that's
- 38:43Speaker 5: the biggest concern that LSU fans don't want to embrace
- 38:46Speaker 5: right now.
- 38:47Speaker 2: No, I agree.
- 38:48Speaker 1: I agree because Clemson looks awful, absolutely awful. And they
- 38:51Speaker 1: may lose to Cal. What do you think?
- 38:53Speaker 5: I think they will. I think they got the better quarter.
- 38:56Speaker 5: Third down offense, 20% for Chad Morris. Tate Reynolds does it.
- 39:01Speaker 5: Tate Reynolds, that's a sneaky play. It's a 10-30 kick.
- 39:04Speaker 4: It's in Berkeley.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Tate Reynolds is going to have to put up 250
- 39:07Speaker 5: through the air to match JKS. And Saga Politelli's eight touchdowns,
- 39:12Speaker 5: two interceptions, 66% completion percentage. People were selling them at
- 39:17Speaker 5: the six and a half win total. They could be
- 39:20Speaker 5: a seven or an eight win football team. I like
- 39:22Speaker 5: Lou point.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Not into speaking to Mississippi state.
- 39:25Speaker 4: They're going to hate me. Watch this.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Let's let's see if you give them more reasons to hate.
- 39:31Speaker 3: I will.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:32Speaker 2: So they get Missouri Taylor. You know, he's talking to
- 39:36Speaker 2: town or coast to coast right now.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Missouri's good. Eli drink. What's his good.
- 39:40Speaker 2: They've got a good quarterback in Austin Simmons. I'm going
- 39:42Speaker 2: to take it that you're going with the Tigers.
- 39:45Speaker 5: I am going with the Tigers. Here's the thing. I'm
- 39:47Speaker 5: not taking away from the two road wins. Unbelievable second half.
- 39:51Speaker 5: And I'll say this, you know, Beamer should be called
- 39:54Speaker 5: out because South Carolina should have really been up 30
- 39:56Speaker 5: to nothing in the first half. You know, Miss State
- 39:59Speaker 5: played terrible in the first half, but South Carolina didn't
- 40:03Speaker 5: capitalize in red zone opportunities either. That's how bad Lenora
- 40:06Speaker 5: Sellers and the play calling was. inside the 20-yard line
- 40:10Speaker 5: to allow them to only build a 16-0 first half lead.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Kamario Taylor, unbelievable, one of the most electric young quarterbacks. Again,
- 40:20Speaker 5: they've done a great job. Here's the concern. They're still
- 40:24Speaker 5: a young team, Bama's on deck, and now they have
- 40:27Speaker 5: all this optimism, they have all this media hype. How
- 40:30Speaker 5: does the team handle it? I'm not saying potentially... I
- 40:34Speaker 5: just think it's a letdown spot. Missouri is only five
- 40:38Speaker 5: and six under Drinkwitz in road environments, but Austin Simmons
- 40:42Speaker 5: didn't play in the Egg Bowl last year. He's got
- 40:44Speaker 5: an opportunity, right, with Missouri.
- 40:46Speaker 3: This is it.
- 40:47Speaker 5: This is your shot. Kamario Taylor scored the touchdown. He's
- 40:51Speaker 5: in Missouri. He could go up against the Egg Bowl
- 40:54Speaker 5: and miss state here. I just think that Missouri's defense,
- 40:57Speaker 5: 28% third down defense. They're still running the football. Buck
- 41:02Speaker 5: 73 on the ground. without Hardy. And that's another story.
- 41:05Speaker 5: The kid might not come back at all this year.
- 41:07Speaker 5: It's a shame, you know, he might sit out, but
- 41:09Speaker 5: I still think they have enough in the tank to
- 41:11Speaker 5: keep it within the five and a half.
- 41:13Speaker 4: And it wouldn't shock me if they do strike the upset.
- 41:16Speaker 4: This is it.
- 41:17Speaker 5: If they win this game, miss state and cover fans
- 41:20Speaker 5: can hate me. I'll be on the, I'll be on
- 41:22Speaker 5: the bulldogs against Alabama.
- 41:25Speaker 4: When Keelan Russell comes to town next week.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Hey, let's bow it, put a bow on it with
- 41:29Speaker 2: that one, Alabama gets South Carolina and you know, Shane Beamer, uh,
- 41:33Speaker 2: If they play poorly, fans are going to start groaning.
- 41:36Speaker 1: They're really going to start groaning.
- 41:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:38Speaker 5: I mean, you have a Heisman. Somebody said this to me,
- 41:41Speaker 5: and how true is this? Kamario Taylor is playing the
- 41:45Speaker 5: way Lenora Sellers was hyped up to play, right, throughout
- 41:50Speaker 5: his first couple of seasons. Two years ago, when Lenora
- 41:52Speaker 5: Sellers almost abused him and Rocket Sanders against LSU, it
- 41:56Speaker 5: was like, we need this guy. Then you see the
- 41:59Speaker 5: Texas A & M first half. They're like, where is
- 42:01Speaker 5: this guy the whole season? Then you put on the
- 42:03Speaker 5: game last week, I need South Carolina. Guy can't even run.
- 42:06Speaker 5: He can't throw. It was amazing how pathetic he was.
- 42:10Speaker 5: And then on top of it, the interceptions to give
- 42:13Speaker 5: Miss State the double-digit lead.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Beamer is on the hot seat. I don't see any
- 42:19Speaker 5: in-game adjustments from him. It's amazing coming from a legendary
- 42:23Speaker 5: head coach. His teams only win when the game plan
- 42:26Speaker 5: works from the start of the game to the end.
- 42:29Speaker 5: When teams make adjustments like they did against A &
- 42:31Speaker 5: M in the second half, he doesn't have an answer.
- 42:34Speaker 5: He's like the Mike McDaniel of college football. That being said,
- 42:38Speaker 5: they've covered five straight against Bama, but the fact that
- 42:41Speaker 5: Bama's running the football now, and look, Florida State needed
- 42:45Speaker 5: that game.
- 42:46Speaker 4: I was on Florida State.
- 42:47Speaker 5: They pushed the limit, but I don't see Lenora Sellers
- 42:51Speaker 5: throwing Ashton Daniels' ass 377 and Deuce Robinson and Nick
- 42:56Speaker 5: Carver in that offense anymore. duplicating what Florida State did.
- 43:00Speaker 5: I thought it was the great spot. I think Alabama
- 43:02Speaker 5: rebounds and crushes them by 20 or more.
- 43:05Speaker 1: I agree.
- 43:06Speaker 5: I agree.
- 43:07Speaker 2: We're on the same page on just about everything this week. Hey,
- 43:09Speaker 2: I know you've got a busy week. Tell everybody where
- 43:11Speaker 2: to find your work. I know you guys are going
- 43:12Speaker 2: to be working hard through the week.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Yeah, so Coach Fountain and I do the podcast. That'll
- 43:16Speaker 5: be up on Friday night with all the picks. That's
- 43:19Speaker 5: on FanStream Sports. I do the show Crossing Lines every Wednesday.
- 43:25Speaker 5: That's part of what Jeff Nadeau and Donnie Rightside. And
- 43:29Speaker 5: then I do Saturday morning, me and the algorithm, the
- 43:33Speaker 5: model versus the encyclopedia, up on YouTube, up on X,
- 43:37Speaker 5: me and three check bets.
- 43:38Speaker 4: It's a great show.
- 43:40Speaker 5: You know, site, because if you like stats and Ken Palm,
- 43:44Speaker 5: they have everything free access.
- 43:45Speaker 4: It's great. Joseph.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Appreciate you, brother. We'll do it again next week. Enjoy
- 43:49Speaker 1: the weekend.
- 43:49Speaker 4: Yeah. I love the show. Jay. Good luck this week.
- 43:52Speaker 4: Talk soon. All right.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Thank you, brother. Appreciate it.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Joseph Lissy. Make sure to get him on X at
- 43:56Speaker 2: go for the two. And, uh, you can follow him there. Let's, uh,
- 44:00Speaker 2: get into some high school football real quick as, uh,
- 44:05Speaker 2: and let me see if I can do this real quick.
- 44:08Speaker 2: And I did not save that outright. Uh, And that's
- 44:10Speaker 2: why when you produce your own show like this, you
- 44:12Speaker 2: miss things. So, Joseph, sorry about that. Let's go ahead
- 44:15Speaker 2: and cut that off. All right, let's jump into some
- 44:16Speaker 2: high school football real quick. We've got some big games
- 44:19Speaker 2: around the state of Mississippi. Brandon 3-1 at Starkville 4-0.
- 44:24Speaker 1: This is going to be one of the bigger ones
- 44:25Speaker 1: in the state.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Brandon Shields has Starkville picked to win 24-21. That game
- 44:30Speaker 2: may not hit mid-20s with the way these two teams
- 44:33Speaker 2: play defense and they're going to run the football. Madison
- 44:35Speaker 2: Central 2-2 at Warren Central. Madison Central needs a win,
- 44:39Speaker 2: but Warren Central is really good. Warren Central gets the
- 44:41Speaker 2: nod here, 31-28. Oxford at Grenada. Oxford at 3-1. Grenada 3-0.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Oxford gets the win, 35-20. They bounce back after a
- 44:50Speaker 2: loss to Tupelo. Knoxville County 4-0 at Louisville 2-2. Louisville's
- 44:55Speaker 2: played a tough schedule.
- 44:56Speaker 1: I like Louisville.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Shields likes Louisville to win 30-16. Poplarville 4-0 at Picayune.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Big rivalry game between these two each and every year.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Poplarville gets the better of them, though, 34-24. Morton 4-0
