- 0:00Welcome to Outside the Box with Leon Osmond, Tony Bellew and myself, Liam Kizzleton.
- 0:21Before we kick off into the inevitable Aussie, I heard you had a bit of success in a golf
- 0:25tournament this week.
- 0:26I did have another community golf day, held it for me home last week, supposed to be me,
- 0:36Tony, Jags and Nick Chadwick, Jags and Tony dropped out, I had to bring in reinforcements
- 0:44and I won.
- 0:45You won?
- 0:46I won!
- 0:47Oh my Lord!
- 0:48Bandits of the Highest!
- 0:49I won!
- 0:50Absolutely!
- 0:51I won!
- 0:52No, you won!
- 0:53No, my team won!
- 0:54I won't be in the team work!
- 0:55Oh okay, I know what I thought he was.
- 0:56As soon as we got us, we shedded all the poor players.
- 1:00I've either turned up, I do get called a bandit from times of time, but Leon is the ultimate
- 1:05bandit.
- 1:06The only bandit that's worse than Leon.
- 1:08I've got an official handicap.
- 1:10Oh yeah, Robbie's bad.
- 1:11Robbie's bad.
- 1:12Robbie's a riff.
- 1:13Yeah.
- 1:14Robbie's like, should be a scratch player.
- 1:15I'll put me in this.
- 1:1610.7.
- 1:17Oh my Lord, he's a single handicap.
- 1:21Hold on.
- 1:22I'm hoping to improve this season with more money.
- 1:24Yeah, I'm sure you are.
- 1:25It was a good start.
- 1:26Tony was supposed to be in the team and dropped out because he had a bad back.
- 1:30Bad back.
- 1:31It's not a bad back.
- 1:32It's not a bad back.
- 1:33You know what it is?
- 1:34I'm struggling after the call.
- 1:36It's called a marriage in four kids.
- 1:38That's partly more important than reason.
- 1:41For the, I'm struggling since I have made, since it's not made kill.
- 1:44He's at soccer aid.
- 1:45It's been a nightmare and coming back.
- 1:48He's, I'm at the point now where the left Achilles that was snapped the left legs
- 1:53and outfired.
- 1:54And again, in the calf's working, kind of trying to work itself properly.
- 1:57And me right leg is taking a lot less of the load, but it put me back out.
- 2:00And he's doing acupoints.
- 2:01You need to so we have the needle.
- 2:02That big of me back.
- 2:03And then it turned up to these and just doors.
- 2:06I definitely can't place it.
- 2:07Yeah.
- 2:08The best thing to put it back into our team now.
- 2:10Yeah.
- 2:11Absolutely.
- 2:12Absolutely.
- 2:13Who did you beat?
- 2:14Everybody.
- 2:15He's just basically everybody who goes there on the day.
- 2:18Not much competition at all in the past.
- 2:20Yeah.
- 2:21Graves Stewart was better upset with me.
- 2:23I mean, it was.
- 2:24Yeah.
- 2:25It wasn't best, please.
- 2:26But I've got to be honest.
- 2:27It just felt real good.
- 2:28It felt real good.
- 2:29Being a winner out there.
- 2:30As Tiger likes to say.
- 2:31It felt real good out there.
- 2:32So what are you been up to Tony?
- 2:34I'm just, I'm still fed up.
- 2:38I'm not going to lie.
- 2:39There's no point in getting beaten down the bush.
- 2:41I'm just fed up.
- 2:43I'm not going to lie.
- 2:44I'm not going to lie.
- 2:45I've got to say I did have a moment on the weekend.
- 2:47So I'm a season ticket holder at the Hill Dickinson.
- 2:49So I sit in the upper road to boss view.
- 2:53In extra time.
- 2:54So I was sitting up the corner whips in.
- 2:56And never to put up on his bandike runs off to exactly where I'm standing.
- 3:00Looking at me kissing the badge.
- 3:02I have a moment.
- 3:03And though, that's Tony Belly who's fault that.
- 3:05Yeah.
- 3:06Because you said he hates playing against Beto.
- 3:10That's what you did.
- 3:11He did actually.
- 3:12Yeah.
- 3:13Beto was always our best player.
- 3:14Well, you did also say you needed a sloth on the side.
- 3:16Lamb of a shiny head.
- 3:17Oh, yeah.
- 3:18That's easy.
- 3:19I just kissed it.
- 3:20But listen.
- 3:22He is an amazing player.
- 3:24And he probably.
- 3:25The one of the best defenders of our generation.
- 3:28I don't believe he's the best generation.
- 3:30And I believe that's how we often handle John Terry.
- 3:33But he's got a knack of, you know,
- 3:36I'm showing up in very important moments for that club.
- 3:40And that's what he's got.
- 3:44I mean, he's, he has been a brilliant defender.
- 3:48It's a special player.
- 3:49I don't know.
- 3:50When you're talking about the best though, I,
- 3:52I don't know if John Terry or your Ferdinand's, your Tony Adams.
- 3:55I don't know if they had the dip that bandikes had this season.
- 4:00There's no getting away from it.
- 4:01Even he would have to admit that if I had standards, he's had a dip.
- 4:04Whether that's all the leadership and everything that goes into it.
- 4:07I don't know.
- 4:08When you're talking about the best defenders of all time,
- 4:10you think of the Maldini's and people of this world.
- 4:13They were at the top and stayed there.
- 4:16No, I walked away from the bad game.
- 4:18You might have a bad week.
- 4:20I don't know if they ever had a bad season season.
- 4:23So I don't know if that weighs into it.
- 4:25I don't know whether Liverpool fans.
- 4:27I just hate the fact that I'm going to say that.
- 4:31Are we playing?
- 4:32The top-class defender.
- 4:33No doubt about it.
- 4:34But the very, very top of the Premier League ever.
- 4:37Are we playing in a different era?
- 4:39Because I think if Real Ferdinand was playing today,
- 4:42he would just be unstoppable.
- 4:44He would be able to...
- 4:45I just think defenders are so precious.
- 4:47Now, you're such a defender.
- 4:48He goes over to just get a free kick.
- 4:50It's as simple as that.
- 4:51I mean, you showed the bar to him a certain way.
- 4:53The referee's blown.
- 4:54I mean, in that game on Sunday,
- 4:56I thought the referee was to disgrace first and foremost.
- 4:58I thought he would pull really, really pull.
- 5:00And I thought he set the tempo and the standing for the game.
- 5:04When Vegel van Dijk, no yellow cards are getting given out.
- 5:07Vegel van Dijk commits a really...
- 5:09It's a professional foul.
- 5:10It's brilliant.
- 5:11I'm not going to knock him.
- 5:12It's a really clever foul.
- 5:13You get caught out of position.
- 5:14We're on the counter attack.
- 5:16I think they're the corner.
- 5:17And as he's running in,
- 5:18he just goes right through the back of one of the players.
- 5:20And it just showed the bar to him to the floor.
- 5:22Pickers runs out and screams at the referee.
- 5:24Why isn't he getting a yellow one?
- 5:25And he just booked pickers.
- 5:27It's a blatant yellow card.
- 5:29I'm not saying he should be sent off.
- 5:30And it's not a really dirty challenge.
- 5:32But it's a professional foul.
- 5:33And he's done it because he was caught out of it.
- 5:35And I'm not saying that.
- 5:36You know what I'm saying?
- 5:37It's doing that part of...
- 5:38How has he not been given the yellow to the ball?
- 5:40That's part of the ball.
- 5:41Is that the referee in order?
- 5:43No.
- 5:44You've got a reputation of being a top defender.
- 5:48You're always, as well, one of those players that's in the referees here,
- 5:52speaking to the referee.
- 5:53And that's not me criticising.
- 5:54And that's me actually praising.
- 5:55And that's part of the game.
- 5:56That's something good that people...
- 5:57That's something good that people...
- 5:58That's something good that people...
- 5:59You should go completely...
- 6:00You know, I was constantly in the referees here.
- 6:02So I'm one of the people that actually think...
- 6:04It's actually a big part of the game, because the referee has his own thoughts.
- 6:10And if you can even put any words in there...
- 6:12You can just put extra thoughts in his mind
- 6:15from to think about something on your side.
- 6:18It's fine, but it was...
- 6:20It probably wasn't booked, wasn't it?
- 6:22It's a bad mess from the ref, that was.
- 6:24And then it's a book picker.
- 6:26I don't know what he shows on it.
- 6:28We can all imagine what he shows on the box.
- 6:30Like that.
- 6:31The minute he's left his box and we'll run 30 yards or so.
- 6:34It's the referee.
- 6:35But as you're not going to have the right to do that,
- 6:37when he's not booking them,
- 6:38and it's a clear and obvious professional file.
- 6:41Going back 30 years or so, yeah.
- 6:43And then the Premier League now.
- 6:44I mean, if you run 10 yards to confront the referee like that,
- 6:46you're getting...
- 6:47You're getting a yellow card.
- 6:49But I mean, that was just part of the story, wasn't it?
- 6:52There we go.
- 6:53I thought we played really well.
- 6:54I really did.
- 6:55Especially first.
- 6:56Yeah.
- 6:57Going into the game as we were talking last week,
- 6:59we're saying our excitement is to go into a derby
- 7:02that we're positive about,
- 7:04that we think we're going to win Liverpool fans.
- 7:06The majority were saying they'd take a draw.
- 7:09Because of what was at stake.
- 7:11And that actually felt really good.
- 7:13I was really positive.
- 7:14I'm for 28, 29 minutes.
- 7:16The buildup before the game was outstanding.
- 7:19I played everybody meeting the coach.
- 7:21The T-fo in the stadium.
- 7:23The noise, the single longer.
- 7:25He couldn't help but get swept along by it
- 7:27and sucked into it.
- 7:28Absolutely brilliant.
- 7:29And for 28 minutes,
- 7:31I thought we played really well.
- 7:33Should have scored a goal.
- 7:35No, we were better than them.
- 7:37We should have scored a couple of goals.
- 7:39And just for a couple of inches,
- 7:42Jacob Ryan.
- 7:43And I was literally,
- 7:44because I was doing the TV at the weekend.
- 7:46And I sat right,
- 7:48probably three or four seats to the side of the bench.
- 7:50Jacob Ryan was right in front of me.
- 7:52Liverpool pushed up so quickly
- 7:54if you watch it back, he's just sort of,
- 7:56thinks he's got all the time in the world to get into place.
- 7:58And I was like, Jake, get on side, Jake.
- 8:00Get on side.
- 8:01And frustration of seeing,
- 8:03so as that ball went across
- 8:05and what came after,
- 8:06I didn't celebrate.
- 8:07He's on right in line.
- 8:08I knew.
- 8:09He was on my line from when I was sitting there.
- 8:11And I thought he was on side,
- 8:12because it was so close.
- 8:13I knew there was a player just after them
- 8:15who was off side,
- 8:16but he let it pass him.
- 8:17And he didn't into fear.
- 8:18So I thought,
- 8:19I said, I was saying to the people sitting next.
- 8:21I said, Jake's on side.
- 8:22I said, each off side,
- 8:23whoever was in front of you.
- 8:24It's just like we're close.
- 8:25I've watched it back closely,
- 8:27even though I don't like to go into too much,
- 8:29but the show I do on the Mondays.
- 8:31And Jared was on side by,
- 8:33by centimeters.
- 8:34And Jared would have touched it
- 8:36just towards Jake.
- 8:37Everything would have been,
- 8:38everything would have been five.
- 8:39But everybody thought,
- 8:40and I thought Jared was off side.
- 8:42Jake jumped back last moment.
- 8:44And I had to go to the line.
- 8:46I didn't see it because it was right in front of him.
- 8:48And obviously what came afterwards and the eruption
- 8:51from the fires,
- 8:52feeling within the stadium.
- 8:53The limbs and arms everywhere was amazing to watch.
- 8:56I just knew from my position
- 8:58it was going to get overridden.
- 9:00Okay,
- 9:01adversity goes against you.
- 9:02But let's make sure we keep playing as we are playing.
- 9:05And then for the first time in the game,
- 9:07we tried to really play out from the back through them,
- 9:10where they hadn't created a chance
- 9:11as they had another moment
- 9:12up till that point in the game Liverpool. And you try and create play through the lines one
- 9:16sloppy moment in your own half. And they've got the quality to capital tell us they're very
- 9:20good at pressing and we didn't let them do that until the moment we can see that the goal which
- 9:25by chance came a minute and four seconds after the goal that we'd actually had ruled out
- 9:31and that was more than a goal punch once to ask you that you know when we score the goal and
- 9:35obviously that we're the fans are up in the place I think it's all great and it's very good
- 9:39because they don't see the original the line I go up. Is that I'm not a lapsing concentration
- 9:46from the lads or is that just just pure unlucky? I don't know what is it? There was a lot of them
- 9:51beyond that Liverpool line if you look back at the uh not I mean when they score oh when they score
- 9:56yeah so it is in a lapsicon because it's so quick after we've just scored and it's being
- 10:01this allowed like because the shape is so good I actually felt it was a bit of overconfidence
- 10:08yeah as silly as we've got the sound like usually you get caught up by doing something silly doing
- 10:15something like you shouldn't do but it was as if sort of right okay we've we're now confident
- 10:21enough to actually try and play out the rather than just keep doing what we were doing getting
- 10:23into good areas playing off playing off better off the front and getting into the getting up to
- 10:28the halfway line of playing suddenly you're playing out from the back even Michelinco went
- 10:33way too early to try and get forward thinking we're going to be playing through the lines this
- 10:37is all going great and good teams and Liverpool are a good team okay anyway good teams will hear
- 10:42you've won one good tackle poor from from the white and given that that ball away in that moment
- 10:47great pass from from Gakpo and Sellett gets that goal which was frustrating and it not the
- 10:53stuffing out of us and we did well to get in at half time after that because because we were on
- 10:57the back foot but that was the first half gone despite a really good start yeah you could tell
- 11:03that it was kind of deflated after that after that goal going back to the the decision with the
- 11:09with the VIR that robbed the fans of an amazing moment there where you stand when VIR comes in like
- 11:15that it's offside so in those in those moments in those instances I don't think there's any getting
- 11:21away if it's offside yeah it's offside it's not even close to the officials actually should have
- 11:26seen that as it was maybe the if the linesman assistant referees now would have noticed it put his
- 11:34flag up really early then just it ends it straight away then we don't get that over emotion that over
- 11:39endurance that that celebration and then the deflation me daughter is an is an epitone she's always
- 11:46been an epitone but she's really getting into going the games this week yeah sorry this season
- 11:51she hasn't done all of them because to somebody really late midweek games and I'm getting her into it
- 11:55as as we go and she got overexcited for the game she was absolutely loving it she jumped on the
- 12:02robe apparently the like the robe she got so excited on the front as well she was so excited for the
- 12:06goal and then she got come down back down to her way at Liverpool Scores and then she put her
- 12:10headphones in a watch the phone for 20 minutes she said what happened she went it was just too much
- 12:18she was like the hide the loaners I got don't even like this anyway
- 12:25well yeah the bounce back in the second half we're a great cross by
- 12:31Jews we always done really well there did you think I haven't my back in it at that moment
- 12:34well we were back in it so doubt about that I thought we started the second half okay I thought we
- 12:40grew into it I thought we figured out how to hurt Liverpool in the first half and the second half
- 12:46getting the ball out to element it initially but I've been keen on making that running behind
- 12:53Curtis Jones into that fallback area or better running in between the center halves it was always
- 12:58that left wing area for us right center half position for Liverpool where we were getting in
- 13:04behind and doing the damage and I thought we we tried to play a little bit intricate to start with
- 13:09and then started to realise yeah let's just keep playing a better guardian once or twice did that
- 13:14flick-flack with his foot I thought his leg was going to fall off knowing the way he does that in that
- 13:19moment but it was good quality it was really good when Keen and running into that area flashed it
- 13:26across and and Beto got on the end of it and at that point we were playing well and it was just
- 13:33a it was a real shame that I thought Beto played well you said before he was mad at the match I didn't
- 13:38think it was mad at the match but I thought he played well and I did think the better happens
- 13:43to go off really here to yeah yeah I agree because he was really taking the fight on from that moment
- 13:48mixed with a substitution that maybe didn't quite work the way David Moise wanted it to
- 13:53we we never really got in the front foot again and that was disappointing oh you
- 13:57I got ringtone though you test anyone's wondering that Tony's ring phone going off
- 14:02that is and I am really sorry that's not what I'm going to do
- 14:06can't plan pot cop I found him as well
- 14:09I wasn't doing that for me again Carview Swat
- 14:15yeah you know what Beto going off massively helped him because
- 14:20canata and bandai were talking to them each other at the back and you could see they were
- 14:24just like you're gonna you're gonna stay with him this time I just it's like now they're
- 14:27the ones to be near him because he just clattered the balls them all day I thought he got stuck
- 14:31into them but even when he got on the ball he looked after it well he protected it well and I
- 14:35think he put some yards in yeah he ran out of it he lost cause he ran that he ran the channels
- 14:41he don't know the hard the hard yards that are forward and a long forward is supposed to do
- 14:47I thought cana juice be always very good with the ball he knocked it round really well
- 14:52I felt for Dwight McNeil because when that mistakes made I just feel for the player of his quality
- 15:01he just you're going through a kind of a box and you you probably feel like I don't I don't
- 15:06not feeling this is playing well as well oh no yeah maybe it shook him for a bit I thought
- 15:11he came out and played well in the second half I really did I think the disappointing thing
- 15:15second half wise for us was the fact that uh once once the goalkeeper got injured in the in the goal
- 15:23that we didn't really trouble him woodman and you know we we had a couple of shots from
- 15:27we had one effort on the angle from iliman and jay that you'd probably expect the goalkeeper
- 15:32to make a save but other than that it was we had to couple of shots from distance that were over
- 15:37the bar we had tirotonic George came on on the left on side we never really got anything from him
- 15:42iliman moved over to the right we never really built up any momentum after that to be able to
- 15:47actually trouble the goalkeeper and why was that though was that the substitutions was that
- 15:52mentality the players what from your perspective what you think a little bit of everything
- 15:56TNO Barry didn't quite manage to get the same performance that's sort of troubled this center
- 16:01half the way better was doing in terms of just from players aren't they just put it into an area
- 16:06he was probably below par I think if we're being honest uh in in in what
- 16:12he managed to give us when he came on as I said I thought the substitutions didn't quite
- 16:16help us I thought by tirot George going over on this side moving iliman over to that side when he
- 16:21him and juice behold in that area in particular it had quite a bit of joy I thought that maybe
- 16:26didn't help I understand because he'd come on last week George and actually was was was I know
- 16:30to use all that I mean I've seen my magnificence from tirotonic George so I thought it's a tough one
- 16:37I always think it's hard to place coming into a game especially at the temple that's played that
- 16:41it's hard to you know find your way and then and maybe to create some or be the difference because
- 16:47that's what you're bringing players on for going there letting be the difference and that's very
- 16:50hard to do with the quality that they have and they have quality all over the park I mean I don't
- 16:55even know where that service line was playing the heart of back he just he just kept heading up
- 17:00everywhere and he just he's such a good footballer you can't knock it you know what I mean then
- 17:04when you got the likes of Mo Salah and people going on he's not on for it he just finds a way
- 17:09money scores goals okay is you know he just he just finds a way and things just for them I mean
- 17:14you couldn't write it that mama that's really came off I'd never let that keep it in my life
- 17:18not cartoons he's under 21's dad and I was like it's nice 29 I think is he 23 easy plays for
- 17:26he's yeah but that's what you do now don't he just didn't his dad got promoted the same day
- 17:32of the day before managing probably something like that is we didn't even test them knowing
- 17:37all honestly did we know that that was the issue that's the disappointing thing but we just it's
- 17:42just set other other shot from outside the box and you try it together dude you were trying but
- 17:47nothing was falling and I just feel against I feel for a forward it's so hard up against you
- 17:55before would yourself yeah well you'll sell me like you're a younger Bob Latchford yeah I wish
- 18:01a fuck Bob Latchford I love you know Bob Oskins more like I just think it's so hard against two
- 18:10big colossus fellas like that yeah to get to get to get anything like I said that's why
- 18:17battle does so I don't know he's there but I don't care what anyone says he has such a good time
- 18:22again to mandate and I think it's because he doesn't stand off him he's not in all of him he gets
- 18:26stuck into him and he cheats him like he does any other sense yeah I think in terms of that
- 18:31talking about center halves before center halves these days are used to playing two center halves
- 18:37against one striker as well and and generally one of them can get really physical with you
- 18:42in the other one drops away battle kind of one of his positives is that he can actually occupy
- 18:47yeah physically two center halves at the same time he can run you you can hold the ball up so yeah
- 18:52I don't think they enjoy that but and he did get on the score she probably had a couple of good
- 18:57chances yeah he did a big chances and when you look at the difference between between the teams
- 19:01and yet you look at most sellers ruthless and I chance ruthless call we had a good few chances
- 19:07and we did we may score them we may not score them I think that's the next level we need to get to
- 19:13being being ruthless in the big games having a big more big game knowledge that they've got about
- 19:17how to manage certain moments within the game they look calm they're going into the end of the
- 19:22game didn't they yeah because as well the other hurdle we've got is is actually mentally winning
- 19:29these games before we actually physically go out and out win them and they've gotten
- 19:33assurance like they would have took a draw and yet 11 minutes went up and you suddenly felt them
- 19:37think we can actually win this game that we'd we'd love to have took a draw and we can win this
- 19:42from here and then they managed to go on and do it we we probably needed to be maybe in the same
- 19:48way Arsenal go about trying to win the title in the sense of you I felt that they needed
- 19:52needed a three one score line going into the later stages to enjoy it and get over the line
- 19:57Arsenal needed a nine point sort of lead in fact they've even let that slip here it seems maybe at
- 20:02the moment going into injury time level I was just felt that at that point we weren't the team
- 20:08that were going like I didn't feel lost stadium I didn't feel lost stadium but seriously went 11
- 20:13minutes added up and maybe it was because the stuff I got knocked out of is with bram for the way
- 20:16to injury and the other stoppages but we didn't go whoa get in 11 minutes go on we've got them
- 20:23like it would up the stadiums we sort of it yeah great 11 minutes yeah it's a bit much and and
- 20:30that is a sign it's just a it's a kind of a mindset that we've because it keeps on up into it
- 20:37that is the sixth 90th plus winning goal against us by them in the Premier League the most
- 20:43by any team across the competition so because that keeps happening we get to that moment and
- 20:48instead of cheering and get excited we go oh no I've read this I've read this before
- 20:55and we need we need to change it I've witnessed a lot of them I played a few of them
- 21:02when you have you have a chance to look back at the the goal of undikes scored was any in maybe
- 21:06wrong with the with the marker now or was it just a great goal so why people marked these days
- 21:11they get so many people tight and physical and rely on sort of getting their arms around you
- 21:18and you're pushing you in certain ways but when you coming up against a van die or that's the way
- 21:21better should be dealing with things if you can just hold someone in place or give them a nudge
- 21:27at the wrong moment don't need to do much other than let the ball hit you on the head it was a great
- 21:31delivery brilliant little space he created for himself you can always try and do more you can always
- 21:37say you you would do more maybe Jared was still on the pitch it could be different with probably
- 21:42marking him not to be against the keynote in that sense but maybe something that had been different
- 21:47maybe battle because he was really getting all the balls out to start with every ball corner
- 21:51seems to hit frustrate me to hit his head but yeah you can defend them different but don't get
- 21:57the corner away let's begin there let's be up the other end the hardest part for me is he's the only
- 22:03thrift from set pieces can I say doesn't want to know he looks like he's talking every time he jumps
- 22:08up he goes on ahead of all in but Van Dyke big he's brave he's strong and he wants to go meet it he wants
- 22:15to score and I have to feel like he's the only threat once and if you look at it and he is the
- 22:22biggest threat why haven't we just put two men on him I'm sick I was trying to wake up who's
- 22:26man was who yeah Tarky and can I say was in front of him so I was a shoe and that's a doing zone
- 22:32a lot of them a lot of them do that now that's what I asked him he's all no doubt I asked I asked the
- 22:36question now a number of years ago not when the gaffer have come all before it and I asked the
- 22:41lads and I just said why don't you just go man for man and be responsible and then it took
- 22:47what I think it was it might be in keynote or Tarky who said to me Tom they just kept
- 22:53blocked off if we go man for man someone's got a blocker he said it just it just can't wake so
- 22:58I kind of understood a bit more than like I said before I don't I know as much of a
- 23:03football as he's glad you know what I mean but when he said that to me I got it a lot more so now
- 23:08when I see the monster pieces and I see because like I said I've just said there why am I just
- 23:12put two men on Van Dyke but you're just going to go blockers and there's literally it's
- 23:1810 in the blue the NFL we have to it's just talking after talking yeah there's got to be a hybrid
- 23:23of it coming up and referees definitely going to be stopping this kind of holding that's going
- 23:29on moving forward it's someone's going to make an example there's got to be a stop to just give
- 23:32a panel yeah it's going to happen but well they'll have to start next thing they're going to cut it
- 23:36out I think a lot more than they do and that'll give you a chance to go back to old-school defender
- 23:41where everyone you know gets in position you see the ball coming up you go and run and try and
- 23:46head it but football is constantly evolving every single week it's evolving every single day
- 23:52it's evolving somebody trying to find a new way and it's always the cost of everything there's always
- 23:59a way just take ten points of heaven you know what I mean it's whatever makes it just take ten more
- 24:04points whatever I'm going to do to the bounce back against Westand this upcoming weekend
- 24:10just don't do anything different really really I'd say the performances that we'll we've
- 24:16done all season away from home in particular really I've been I've been outstanding with what
- 24:20top or the second best team away from home in the Premier League this season so I need to change
- 24:26and I think it was a blow it was a knock certainly not criticizing we've been we've done it to
- 24:31the few teams this season I'm not gonna criticize in the team after this after this Darby I mean
- 24:37it was it was a great 28 minute it felt really good to be going into the game feeling like this
- 24:43it was a knock on the on the chin until half time yet we still came out I really enjoyed that
- 24:49really enjoyed support as I thought we were just a little bit if you find margins away maybe a
- 24:54little bit of belief in crucial moments away from from being able to step up but what a team who's
- 25:00developed a hell of a lot this year we've got five games left and we could potentially finish
- 25:05your opinion football if that goes the other way on Sunday ever and around 50 points from
- 25:12the overtake Chelsea that's champions of the kind of material that you're in them places you know
- 25:18you're in the fight now we go to Westham and if we beat Westham on the road which were more than
- 25:25capable of doing you're just like you're like you're in the fight again so I just feel it's out
- 25:32debounce back and rebound now but I think the gaffer will just be there at this again I think
- 25:37you'll go for them we I just I can't see us not getting nothing at Westham I know they're fighting
- 25:44for the lives and they're playing really well at the minute but it's just we are so suited to
- 25:49being away from home we really are funnier look at the away games we've got Westham away it's
- 25:54bears away yeah both of them scrapping for survival yeah so both of them are games that
- 26:00huge there aren't gimmies we've got to go there and and try and be ourselves but I'll tell you
- 26:04they're looking at us and thinking oh don't need that we've got everything coming oh that's
- 26:09the last thing but they just look at you in a way from and I said if we are the second biggest
- 26:12most wins in the Premier League for the away team he's just like oh they're not going to look
- 26:16forward to that especially he spares me I mean we all spares I'm not going to lie I'm going
- 26:21I'm 10 now because I'm expecting to run right then because I'm still annoyed at that
- 26:26other end now if I see him anytime soon he's getting told he's getting a piece of my mind then
- 26:30you just come to our place in man right and yeah I genuinely feel like we all more so you know
- 26:36imagine if we sent them down that's what I don't want to do I don't want to do that you don't
- 26:42why what you going I know but I don't want I don't want to spend should not be in the championship
- 26:47I'm sorry the two big club that's it's it's a crime if that stadium's in the championship
- 26:52it's a crime but that same time me look what I said last week I was just stupid but yeah
- 26:57I think we need to write in a lead to the fit lead to the first to say that before leads you
- 27:05know went on and won two games I said it before then smacked out I'm going to put the
- 27:13lot of numbers on them whatever whatever the opposite side of them Leon put it on and you'll win
- 27:18if there's 60 lots of e numbers if you could pick 52 with them for me now I'll win with them the right
- 27:25pick me 52 numbers it's not going to be all of this going to be what we're in a good position
- 27:29anyway no doubt about that there were again moving in the right direction I love our core I really do
- 27:36Garner and Jews be hauling particularly little I've enjoyed watching play lately I'd love
- 27:42together he would cost way too much Alex scoffer Bournemouth see an employee go play
- 27:49central midfield that reminds me of Gazza in really yeah in the sense that he gets about a
- 27:55pitch he goes a bit of box to but he can play me in a midfield too right and he and he dribbles it
- 28:01like Gazza he doesn't drive forward in the sense that we can't like the way Roy Keane would drive
- 28:06forward he's going on with the ball James Garner will drive forward he can move well with it
- 28:11he's running with it Alex got the dribbler he's stepping on he's 22 he's been in England under 21
- 28:17Scott that won the competition last year I'll tell you while he's going to go for a few cut then
- 28:21because Bournemouth don't sell to you yeah he'll be a hundred million pound playable he's an
- 28:25impressive prospect in but obviously we need a striker we need fullback yeah I think we're
- 28:31strong in that area of the field and I think we've got people I mean I think Jimmy Garner I think
- 28:37in my personal opinion he's been the best player this season oh yes in my mind I skipped a beat
- 28:42there because it was a dresser's not gonna last forever is he 30 38 and he's a fine wine to be
- 28:49fair to him but every dog has a today and in that position and that part of the field it's
- 28:55where legs are needed massively and they can just go out on the margin as you all know better
- 29:00they can just go overnight your legs
- 29:05is that right yeah can you name it? I thought you knew the date and everything then
- 29:11I'm just saying he's the perfect athlete and he lives such a clean life and you know
- 29:18I'd get it with you but at some point that's got to slow down it hasn't looked like this season
- 29:24so he's been brilliant one of us and one he was so you've seen how much you're a massive miss
- 29:30if this was when the African combination is on him and he huge losses in the side
- 29:36but the other last coming in them I've got it can't knock them Dwight McNeil had some good games
- 29:40it I thought had his arms don't came in done a really good job you know he's shown he's improved
- 29:45because we've got good standing that in person in positions we just need a few more squad wise
- 29:49I don't I don't think we need if we were to qualify for Europe I don't think we need an awful lot
- 29:54of regards to numbers especially a just like ball stand and you're suddenly looking at
- 29:58the amount of bodies that you've forgotten what you've got yeah he's a good athlete he's
- 30:03shown flashes of what you can do I think I think there are a few things he needs to learn I think
- 30:08that must be why he's not getting as many minutes but to be ready the player's ahead of him
- 30:12of them top players leads as well to be there which obviously makes a difference but yeah I think we're
- 30:18probably not got many years left of a dresser in the team despite him being outstanding you are
- 30:25outstanding the PSG are coming in and taking your away from us but yeah but we probably have to look
- 30:31at who slots in there alongside the other two and hope that the other two are with us for the next
- 30:37eight nine years well they've signed new consulate you may go on a sand and you can't check
- 30:41you know you used be all leave we've had them now what's the second year we've had them
- 30:45So on the ball today, aren't you?
- 30:49So I thought you'd been punched in the other, wasn't you?
- 30:52I thought it was a second. Yeah, I thought we had a last season.
- 30:54Well, that's how well he's done. It feels like he's been in it.
- 30:57Can you juice be old, wasn't it, with those last season?
- 30:59No. No. Chelsea.
- 31:02Was not long. Why am I be seeing him playing last year?
- 31:06I don't know, he won the World Club Cup with Chelsea in this one.
- 31:10I don't believe him.
- 31:11I never really believed that punched in the other thing until just that one.
- 31:14There you go, because I could swear that I was watching him last season as well.
- 31:17Well, you know, it's changed things out.
- 31:19Yeah, he's that good.
- 31:20I can't, not today.
- 31:22He's that good. He is that good.
- 31:24Well, what are you injured about that?
- 31:25At a fill in today.
- 31:26I'll get it, get it.
- 31:27Well, yeah, that's all.
- 31:28Out of fill in.
- 31:29Tentious, stentious, strenious.
- 31:31I'll punch me on that side of the head, yeah.
- 31:32I'm talking about fill in.
- 31:33I'm walking in that big party meeting.
- 31:35It's not for a lot of this kind of stuff.
- 31:37I don't want to feel it that way.
- 31:38Have you ever had a fill in?
- 31:40I've only ever had one in my life.
- 31:42Don't well, there may be.
- 31:43There's major clean your teeth probably, did they?
- 31:45Yeah.
- 31:46Or a day just not your teeth, anyone?
- 31:48These are all my teeth, Leon.
- 31:50From Turkey.
- 31:51Yeah.
- 31:53No, I'm the only person who hasn't had the techy passion yet.
- 31:56No, so I've done something called in business line.
- 32:00And that's what sort of mean.
- 32:01Yeah, she's also.
- 32:02But I had a fill in today, right?
- 32:04I've had a few fillings, because I love me suits and me.
- 32:07Something.
- 32:08Sideers.
- 32:10Yeah, so I had this injection today.
- 32:14Usually you're, you're.
- 32:15Sideers goes numb and then you can't.
- 32:17Me, I went numb.
- 32:18You're what?
- 32:19Me, I, me, I lived.
- 32:20I couldn't blink for three hours.
- 32:22Three hours, I couldn't be.
- 32:23I think he did, but you just did.
- 32:25Four, three men down be faced.
- 32:27I don't know if that was a remnant after the derby, like, but I'd watered
- 32:30just three men down be faced.
- 32:32Because I don't know if it's because this is the I lived.
- 32:34I lost.
- 32:34Good night when I had to get this I lived.
- 32:36Oh, that was an injury, wasn't it?
- 32:38Yeah, it's a tackle.
- 32:40Got a tiny coat on sideways.
- 32:42Don't make socks like that in pictures, aren't it?
- 32:44I'm a weird leading picture of the nine stitches in me, I lived.
- 32:48So it's Wednesday.
- 32:49But this thing, because I had to leave the fellow rats, I cut it out.
- 32:51Yeah.
- 32:52Yeah, I lived, so it's only got half an hour to do one close.
- 32:55And literally it's only just started to.
- 32:57Don't want to forget about that.
- 32:59What game was that in?
- 33:00Arsenal.
- 33:01I started really well, you know.
- 33:03I was at the game, I'm just trying.
- 33:05I was capped in, I started really well.
- 33:07I hit the bar and then got stretched off after seven minutes.
- 33:12I had a really good game.
- 33:13It was only seven minutes of the game, but it was going to be better.
- 33:16It was going to be better, seven minutes, six minutes.
- 33:18Can you remember who caught you?
- 33:19It wasn't anyone catch you.
- 33:20I caught the back, back every second, yeah?
- 33:23Yeah.
- 33:24So I was trying to make, you know, make an impression.
- 33:26The corner came onto the edge of the box.
- 33:28I tried to go right through him.
- 33:30And as I've caught him with a slide tackle, he just landed on me,
- 33:33on me head with his backside.
- 33:34And I've scraped me head along the floor.
- 33:38And then it was one of the ways.
- 33:40And I felt me sort of skin ripping open up.
- 33:43And then as I've come away, I couldn't see out me.
- 33:45I and I started patting.
- 33:47I started patting the floor because I thought it was going to be alive.
- 33:49Yeah, I just fell off.
- 33:51I literally thought that was going to be alive.
- 33:52I was patting the floor, trying to find it really hard.
- 33:55I was so scared to go.
- 33:56I just thought it was going to be alive.
- 33:57Patting me, patting round, like you're going to pat me.
- 33:59I was thinking, I was on the floor.
- 34:01I was thinking, I don't want to be that fellow.
- 34:03They've got a video with Zai ball on the floor.
- 34:06So I'm picking up the floor behind me for it.
- 34:07So I was going to pick up for it back in.
- 34:09The bridge he came on the pitch and I was going,
- 34:11Oh, you're all right.
- 34:12I said, it was me, how are you?
- 34:13He went, yeah, it is.
- 34:14You're soft.
- 34:16Went up, me and gave me a bit, yeah.
- 34:18Oh, pause.
- 34:19I got to the side of the pitch and my legs went.
- 34:21I actually fell down the steps.
- 34:22Down the position, yeah.
- 34:24Well, we touched on spares before.
- 34:25They had a last minute goal going against them.
- 34:29Did you celebrate it?
- 34:30I know you.
- 34:31You probably celebrate it.
- 34:32How'd you want them to go down, Lee?
- 34:33Yeah, do, yeah.
- 34:35Oh, me.
- 34:36Why?
- 34:36I don't know.
- 34:38Partly because we can be there on the last day of the season.
- 34:40My late's want them just like that.
- 34:41Yeah, it's just like monumental, isn't it?
- 34:42That like someone like that would have done.
- 34:44That mate's back.
- 34:44But also it's easier for us to get up there.
- 34:47Is it not?
- 34:48No, mate.
- 34:49I don't want to see them go down.
- 34:50I don't want to see spares go down.
- 34:53It's sad.
- 34:54It's so sad.
- 34:55I mean, I've got a couple of spares, mates as well.
- 34:56It's sad to watch them fans or not to come fans as well,
- 34:58though, isn't it?
- 34:59That on Flores, Scott Hammett and Good Spares
- 35:03made that feel really, like they went down.
- 35:05I understand.
- 35:06I've just said this before.
- 35:08We're probably the only club that really appreciates
- 35:11how they feel in the scene.
- 35:12Talking to that judge.
- 35:13We get it and understand.
- 35:14Relocation battles for years and years.
- 35:16We know how they feel and everyone's saying,
- 35:18you're too good to go down.
- 35:19You're too big to go down.
- 35:20I couldn't imagine spares wanted us to go down.
- 35:23So I'm not saying I want them to go down.
- 35:26And I've got a few spares, friends,
- 35:28but I would hate to see them being so upset.
- 35:31But it will be funny though.
- 35:32It will be funny.
- 35:33It will be funny.
- 35:34I made talk like this.
- 35:36Walk it.
- 35:37I mean, I don't want them to go down.
- 35:38And I want it now.
- 35:39It'll be funny.
- 35:40It's not funny.
- 35:41It's not.
- 35:41It's heartbreaking.
- 35:43Made to imagine them sobbing and crying in that state.
- 35:45I mean, I watched them all sobbing and crying
- 35:47when they won that European trophy.
- 35:48Never mind going down.
- 35:50Yeah.
- 35:50I like to go there to watch the NFL as well.
- 35:52Not the only Mike, the only judge I get next year.
- 35:54It's a beautiful stadium.
- 35:55I actually, and I'm not just saying this.
- 35:58I think it's the best stadium as an actual stadium in the country.
- 36:02But it's not a patch on us for the football stadium.
- 36:05ours is the best football stadium in the country now.
- 36:08Without a shadow, without.
- 36:10But there's is the best.
- 36:12For an event stadium.
- 36:14But when I've been in and worked the boxing and things like that,
- 36:17it's an unbelievable stadium.
- 36:19But I just feel it's not.
- 36:21Do you know what though?
- 36:22I'm going to trip myself a bit.
- 36:23I haven't been in there.
- 36:24I'm a match there here.
- 36:25All right.
- 36:26But I don't care.
- 36:27It's nothing to patch on our place.
- 36:29The noise our place generates.
- 36:32When that goal went in and Jack,
- 36:33Jack, Jack, do the score that last minute winner this season.
- 36:35Yeah.
- 36:36I have never felt anything like that.
- 36:38And any football stadium and football
- 36:39was going on in my life.
- 36:40That, that stadium, he blew up that day.
- 36:43I don't know if it was against kicked the ball.
- 36:45The bounce off his knee.
- 36:46When in the goals?
- 36:46Was it a police?
- 36:48That's me.
- 36:49At our place, yeah.
- 36:49Um.
- 36:50Hello?
- 36:51I think it was.
- 36:52At least quite a bit about us.
- 36:54Just thinking about our stadium for the most part.
- 36:57It's not been perfect going there.
- 36:59But it's, it's not harminers.
- 37:02Their stadium seems to be harmining them at the minute.
- 37:05It's either too much to play in the two hostile against them.
- 37:11The noise is overbearing for them.
- 37:13I don't know what it is.
- 37:14But it's not helping them.
- 37:16And that's something that you've always got to be kind of aware of.
- 37:19West Ham fans, we're playing this weekend
- 37:20have gone through moments where they hate the stadium.
- 37:23But you've still got to make sure you're there to help the team.
- 37:28You've got to be there to be a positive sort of influence on.
- 37:32I'm trying to contribute to the to the result.
- 37:34There's no doubt that fans in the stadium help you one way or the other.
- 37:37Because they're saying, they're saying now,
- 37:40it's a straight shootout with West Ham on spares.
- 37:44They're taking forest and leads and now safe.
- 37:46I don't think forest might have another,
- 37:48I think they've got to have another win for us.
- 37:51How many points do you do?
- 37:53I mean, I know spares are banging it and West Ham.
- 37:56But how many, I think the five points clear now, Leeds, are they?
- 38:00Leeds are on Thursday.
- 38:01It's in nine.
- 38:03Oh, thirty-nine.
- 38:04Forest.
- 38:04Nothing got to go to win on the weekend.
- 38:06Oh, one wasn't it?
- 38:07Well, we'll be right back team.
- 38:09He's a player.
- 38:10Wendy went behind, I thought, oh no.
- 38:12It'd be the first time I've seen a club go down.
- 38:15Whoever goes down, if it's West Ham on spares
- 38:17and I go, oh, I really like a few of them plays.
- 38:21You can make it.
- 38:22It's Shadow Bones going for big money.
- 38:24So you and Leeds.
- 38:25So you draw the West down, went down, because we can get some of their players
- 38:28who don't know, no, no, no, no.
- 38:30What do you want me to say?
- 38:31Anyway, the best clubs in the league
- 38:35would take some of the players.
- 38:37Never mind those.
- 38:38That's the thing about Shadow Bones walking in most sites.
- 38:41He's getting into most teams.
- 38:42I think West Ham's team largely stay together.
- 38:44I think Spares team gets ripped off.
- 38:46Now van de Ven, I'm telling you now.
- 38:49That van de Ven makes it, it will not be at Spares next season.
- 38:53Regardless of what happens here.
- 38:54I think he is.
- 38:56I think he is.
- 39:01If they get beat by Wolves this weekend, they don't.
- 39:05Yeah, yeah, if Wolves do, I'll have to, I'll have to just say,
- 39:10I'm sorry, sorry.
- 39:11They've got to get three points there.
- 39:13I don't have to do.
- 39:15It's hard, you know, it's hard, because when there's no pressure on Wolves and Wolves,
- 39:18they've just gone, you know, you just like, they're just playing with such a freedom.
- 39:23Them players have got nothing to lose.
- 39:26And I just think that it's getting to Spares now and then players.
- 39:29It's how the day can see that last minute one.
- 39:31That's two, they're two emotional.
- 39:33You can see them cry at the end of the game.
- 39:35It seems, it seems strange to say because you want to play with the motion.
- 39:38It's got to be the right can when we stayed up against Bournemouth
- 39:42and Crystal Palace.
- 39:44And these big games, there was a hell of a lot of motion, certainly from the crowd,
- 39:49but I felt that the players kept their emotions in check.
- 39:52They were, they were getting the results.
- 39:53They were running around.
- 39:54Spares, it's a, it's a petulence emotion.
- 39:56Yeah, there's arms going in the air.
- 39:58There's sulking going on.
- 40:00Trying to think of relegation fights, you know.
- 40:04Now, did you, did you, did you ever, how many was your name?
- 40:06Do you think I was in a relegation fight?
- 40:08I was in one relegation fight for, no.
- 40:12No, I was in two when I went alone at Diabie and when I went alone at Carlisle.
- 40:15She's never done one in our place.
- 40:17No, you're not in the team when we came 17.
- 40:20I got the last three games of the season.
- 40:22So we do it and we do it.
- 40:23We were already up by that point.
- 40:25Does that feel, does that feel and resonate with, can you feel what the fans are like?
- 40:32Yeah, it's a different kind of anxiety.
- 40:34It's a, it's a, it's a different kind of nervousness.
- 40:36It's, it's a lot more an anxiety and anxiousness.
- 40:40You sort of expect that they were expecting that the worst before the game would even start it.
- 40:45And then when things go against you, then you'd like say it's, it's, it's typical.
- 40:51You're, it's harder on the pitch than to go and actually make things positive.
- 40:56Thankfully at Diabie and Carlisle, we managed to stay open to them as well.
- 41:00So you do feel it has applied the, the tension.
- 41:04Yeah, especially in sort of smaller or some more atmospheric stage.
- 41:10I'm talking about spare stadium there in terms of the noise that it can generate.
- 41:14It's been built in a similar manner to us.
- 41:17And if there's a lot more anxiousness coming from the fans, the, the spare's player will,
- 41:22players will feel it.
- 41:23You think about Gooders and Park when we were playing against the top teams and the fans are so
- 41:29sort of in the game with us that, that even the best players felt that they had no time on the
- 41:34pitch, Gooders and because our fans are screaming at them.
- 41:38But then when we were playing in games where we were expected to win and say we were,
- 41:42you know, one nil down after 25 minutes, that makes the fans get edgy.
- 41:47And then that put raise to us.
- 41:49We start to feel like there's less time and they start to feel like there's more time on the
- 41:53pitch. And that is, that's kind of what happens and at the moment spares of that anxious and
- 41:58that that into the game and that that petrified that they're making their own players really,
- 42:03really nervous.
- 42:04They're making the pitch seem half the size that it is, they're getting caught in the ball,
- 42:07they're getting rushed.
- 42:08The Russian passes out the pitch and not doing it quite right with the opposition.
- 42:11Players are bright and are going there and thinking this is great.
- 42:13They're crowds helping us here.
- 42:16That's a difference.
- 42:17That's the ZB.
- 42:18He's got a job on his hands, isn't he?
- 42:19Yeah, he really has.
- 42:20I think he's a very good manager.
- 42:22He's hugely because he's got to keep them up in these five games.
- 42:25Just said he's going to have his team ripped from him.
- 42:28And he's controversial.
- 42:29I think he's not, he's not shy.
- 42:31He's controversial.
- 42:34He's saying stuff that's like,
- 42:36well, that's going to get a couple of players backs up with some of the things he says.
- 42:40So it's that the right approach.
- 42:42You know, it's going to towel to help them.
- 42:44They needed to change.
- 42:45I mean, I think I've did a kept track.
- 42:47They'd have been fine.
- 42:48Yeah, I don't think they even thought they'd be in a relegation fight.
- 42:51I mean, I think they were already planning for the future.
- 42:53Why do you think they sacked him?
- 42:54Is it a knee-jerk reaction?
- 42:56I mean, because their ownership was never like that in the past.
- 42:59Daniel Levy would never have made a knee-jerk reaction like that.
- 43:02I don't think.
- 43:03Still in Europe at the time, as well.
- 43:04It's just unbelievable.
- 43:06Different now, then, isn't it?
- 43:07And I just think that underperforming, I think across the world
- 43:13in every kind of sport now, no more so than the Premier League.
- 43:16But well, because of its time spent in the media,
- 43:21there's a lot of outside influence.
- 43:22There's a lot of sort of people posting on Instagram and Twitter
- 43:27and all of their social media and the club hierarchy
- 43:30can feel the outside noise more than anything.
- 43:33The outside noise is constantly getting in,
- 43:35which it never used to.
- 43:37A manager used to have hierarchy spills a distance themselves from anywhere.
- 43:41There's no hiding from the influences
- 43:43and the thought process of Spares fans.
- 43:45We're just talking Spares fans at the moment.
- 43:47We've been through it ourselves with everything.
- 43:49But that Thomas Frank's not doing as well as he should.
- 43:52Well, he should get sacked.
- 43:53And once that carries on carries on, there's no sort of recovering.
- 43:56And then you all know that Thomas Frank was never going to get your relegator.
- 44:00But you were definitely going to have a below-pass season with him.
- 44:02And you already think that the grass is constantly always greener.
- 44:05Everybody thinks that the grass is greener.
- 44:07It's wrong because John from Chester said he could go.
- 44:11Yeah, well, it's wrong now because you've employed the man to do a job.
- 44:16Give him a fair shake and give him a fair shake and do a job of course.
- 44:19Listen to the radio this morning.
- 44:22And pulling it in about Eddie House.
- 44:23And to be fair, the caller, the caller,
- 44:25the caller that I listen to, where it be,
- 44:27and he's low-best, you've got to get him out.
- 44:28It was more along the lines.
- 44:29I hear the little bit of that.
- 44:30It's more along the lines of,
- 44:32well, he's just, I don't think he's going to get any better from us.
- 44:34He looks like this is the end of the road.
- 44:36And it felt like a natural sort of finish to it.
- 44:38And I was just thinking, I understand the thought process.
- 44:41I understand the need that we're not constantly improving.
- 44:44Everyone thinks it's constantly improving.
- 44:45You can't constantly improve.
- 44:47There's always going to be a back step if somewhere.
- 44:49Then you start improving again,
- 44:50but just remind me of my time with David Moise in terms of
- 44:54he came in in his first season.
- 44:56And then he got the team safe quite quickly.
- 44:58The next season have it finished seventh.
- 45:01The next season have it finished 17th,
- 45:02which is when I got in the team at the end.
- 45:04Now, naturally, that would have been easy a second.
- 45:07These 10s.
- 45:08The next season we finished fourth.
- 45:10The next season we finished fifth and sixth.
- 45:13And then we had a season where we finished 10th.
- 45:16So should he have got the sack then?
- 45:18No, then we went fifth and sixth again.
- 45:20The next season there might always be a dip.
- 45:23That's just how football management management went.
- 45:26That's seasons where teams aren't constantly in the very same position
- 45:31or improving all the time.
- 45:32It's impossible.
- 45:33You don't get enough players.
- 45:34It's keeping us in a good place.
- 45:36So we have a good time.
- 45:37Are we constantly on the right track?
- 45:40New cast of fans seem to be at the end of the road.
- 45:43A listen to them.
- 45:45I'll listen to them.
- 45:46A couple of them fans because they were on the top of all times.
- 45:48And he got, I had to say.
- 45:49Yes, he's the right son.
- 45:50If he's 75 million taken, well, you know, those fans call him.
- 45:53I'll drive him there myself and stuff like that,
- 45:55like those thoughts.
- 45:56You're so fickle because when he first went there, he was flying.
- 46:00And bad patches and droughts come to every single play.
- 46:04No matter how good you are, no matter how great you are,
- 46:08Lionel Messi's had them, Cristiano Ronaldo's had them.
- 46:10They all have good patches and bad patches.
- 46:16Well, you just said that when you've just been talking about the finishes,
- 46:19we've had Evertonians forget that.
- 46:21Under David Moise, I'll grade that was because you'd hear them talking
- 46:24and if like, you know, we were fighting Melligation.
- 46:27Then finishes there.
- 46:28We have been fighting Melligation for the last five years,
- 46:31six years even.
- 46:32And it's been horrific, it really has.
- 46:34You know, going into the last day,
- 46:36when Duke scored that goal against Bournemouth, wasn't it?
- 46:39And he does that.
- 46:40And you just like, was safe.
- 46:41We've done it.
- 46:44It now puts it into perspective.
- 46:46It puts it into perspective.
- 46:48The palace game.
- 46:49I mean, bad bands.
- 46:50Maybe it was sobbing and halftime.
- 46:52And he says, mate, I don't know if they're going to cry
- 46:54on each other's hand or halftime.
- 46:56And you just think, that's how brilliant it was with these
- 46:59and under them and we were spotted.
- 47:01I don't want to say, we were spoiled.
- 47:03We were going to your, we were on trips away.
- 47:05It was fantastic.
- 47:07But, you know, because we'd ever got,
- 47:09we actually got over the line, which of course,
- 47:11that's so fun.
- 47:13Now what I want to do more now, but going back
- 47:17and you're not me good and you say, you have a down season.
- 47:19Yes, of course you do, but you can't have that big a down season
- 47:23if someone wants to buy you for 70,
- 47:24you know, there's, if someone wants to, if a buy a Munich
- 47:26wants to come in and buy you.
- 47:27It's also goals of season, but they want to pay 50 million for you.
- 47:31He's a top player still.
- 47:33He's a top, Anthony Gordon is a top player.
- 47:36He'll be in Mannington's squad.
- 47:38I think he'll be in there there and about.
- 47:40He's got, he has so many attributes.
- 47:42He's a constant threat.
- 47:43He's got top top player possibly.
- 47:45Yeah, listen, you see players who perform better
- 47:49for England at times.
- 47:51Do you really do it?
- 47:51Well, I'm supposed better players, better team.
- 47:53But it plays better in Europe.
- 47:56Most of his best numbers for new castelists is more in Europe.
- 47:59I know you think if Vincent Company thinks I'll bring him
- 48:03to buy a Munich to play alongside Harry Kane.
- 48:06I see that work.
- 48:06I don't know if place he takes that early.
- 48:09He's fantastic.
- 48:10He's not gone on that side.
- 48:11And then he's going to now bring on the other side.
- 48:13There was the other side.
- 48:14There was the other side.
- 48:15And he's been on fire, hasn't he?
- 48:17I mean, they look like probably I'm not going to lie.
- 48:20Them PSG are the strongest outfits in your decision.
- 48:23I do not see Arsenal getting passed either.
- 48:25Then I don't care how well they defend.
- 48:28I just don't see a way to buy in a PSG.
- 48:31It's going to be okay.
- 48:32It's fantastic.
- 48:34Buying for me.
- 48:34I think it's...
- 48:37Well, I can't look past PSG.
- 48:39PSG are a very good side.
- 48:41It's not them belly.
- 48:42Go on, I love buying then.
- 48:43Yeah.
- 48:44Shake on it.
- 48:45Well, there you go.
- 48:46I'll buy it.
- 48:46I'll take PSG.
- 48:47So, I just...
- 48:48I want Harry Kane to win the gold to win the Ballon d'Or.
- 48:51I want Harry Kane to win.
- 48:52You know what, you know what, he already goes.
- 48:53So now you're on all the nice, be nice.
- 48:55He's saying, the Patriotling, my same mate.
- 48:58My same mate have gone...
- 48:59Yeah, absolutely hilarious if Harry Kane didn't win a single thing.
- 49:02And I'm like, why is he horrible?
- 49:03I want him to win everything and do brilliant, but...
- 49:07I don't know the fella, but...
- 49:08I just want to say...
- 49:09I want to say I don't do well and my mate say,
- 49:11be definitely, if he never won nothing.
- 49:13He's already won the title.
- 49:14Yeah, no, but...
- 49:15You know, he hasn't gone there for the game.
- 49:17Tottenham goes down and Harry Kane wins the Ballon d'Or.
- 49:19Oh, imagine that.
- 49:20Imagine that.
- 49:21Oh, my lord.
- 49:23I mean, top.
- 49:24You've got the right to go, Joe.
- 49:25That, you just, you couldn't write it,
- 49:27that that would be the biggest tenant of any player
- 49:31and of any club you've ever seen.
- 49:33Because I imagine if you'd put money at the start of the season
- 49:36on how he came in and the Ballon d'Or and Spain's going down.
- 49:41To be a very rich man, stop it.
- 49:43What does he have to do to win the Ballon d'Or?
- 49:45Does he have to win the Ballon d'Or?
- 49:46He doesn't have to win the Champions League.
- 49:47Does he have to get close to winning the Ballon d'Or?
- 49:50No, he has to win the Champions League.
- 49:52I think the Champions League and scored in the 50 goals
- 49:55and the Bundesliga, that's enough to get the Ballon d'Or.
- 49:57Should be, but well, yeah, unless you're in the World Cup, you're in the World Cup.
- 50:03Unless you have a freak, unless you have a freak
- 50:05who comes in and scores 10 goals in the World Cup.
- 50:10That's the only way he's getting beat to the World Cup this year.
- 50:12Unless someone is a standout performing in the World Cup,
- 50:15a Killing and Baffer, he turns around and just cooks everyone.
- 50:18That's the only way I believe that Harry Kane's not getting the Ballon d'Or.
- 50:22Because no one's in 50 like he's in, but one's having the success
- 50:27and if they do win the Champions League, that is huge.
- 50:29It's basically, I don't want to say it's just dancing
- 50:32because it's not because Lewis there has been a revelation since he's gone there.
- 50:35Alisa has been fantastic.
- 50:36But let's be honest, when you talk about Bayern Munich,
- 50:38the first name that comes off your lips is Harry Kane.
- 50:42And you don't have a goal scorer?
- 50:43Yeah, and to be fair in some company.
- 50:46He's not very well.
- 50:46Don't very, very well.
- 50:47Show us that you don't want to just be given the chance.
- 50:49How would you feel about the fact of what he did apparently?
- 50:52You look at looking at, like going down and down,
- 50:54getting them to go into barely taking them up, but then managing them
- 50:58in a way that's never going to be able to keep them in the Premier League.
- 51:01But it did show other people what he's capable of,
- 51:04because it's worked for him.
- 51:05He got the Bayern Munich job.
- 51:07But he also won titles.
- 51:09Do you think by what he done?
- 51:10He's like, he knows I'll barely go on this weekend.
- 51:12No, not good.
- 51:13But I also think he will go to himself.
- 51:16He'll have said, I ain't changing.
- 51:18And I'm going to show people I'm not going to change.
- 51:21And I think that that shows.
- 51:23I know this sounds mad, but I think it shows strength to do that.
- 51:26Is that not important, himself?
- 51:28A ball ball, though.
- 51:29Yeah, I think he always, I think he goes.
- 51:31I'm more important than being able to do that.
- 51:32I'm not interested in survival,
- 51:34because I'm going to play dreadful football and survive now.
- 51:37I'm going to play my football the way I want to do it,
- 51:39the way that brought us up.
- 51:40And I'm going to show you and I'll stick to me.
- 51:42What if he was doing that at your club?
- 51:44In terms of, you know, you say no one's bigger than the club,
- 51:47but he basically said he is.
- 51:48Yeah, he is.
- 51:49So what have you did that to you?
- 51:52It's not me, that was it.
- 51:53It's not me, it's not me.
- 51:54I've been to comedy doesn't want me.
- 51:56It's a problem.
- 51:57And I don't want to be in some companies.
- 51:58A problem either.
- 51:59I'm a big fan, but yeah, I mean,
- 52:02at a club like ours, there was you be out the door.
- 52:05As soon as relegation is on the horizon at a club like ours,
- 52:09and we are a huge club believe you mean we aren't barely.
- 52:12Once relegation is on the horizon,
- 52:1499.9% of the time the manager's out the door.
- 52:17Especially if it would be close.
- 52:19That's how it's down at the bottom this year at all.
- 52:22Most of them have way into the merry-go-round
- 52:24and the managers that they usually have been trying to escape.
- 52:27I'm going to barely stop ice car parking, I'm in there.
- 52:29barely stop ice car parking.
- 52:31Wolves, they've gone through a couple of them here
- 52:33from Lysian thinking.
- 52:34Yeah, I'm talking about a few spares of other few.
- 52:38But that man and I, this is wild.
- 52:40I mean, you've just, I mean, come on,
- 52:43you can't be going on pictures,
- 52:44giving your manager the mouthful.
- 52:46I would hate to put the cameras at a club I was at.
- 52:50But again, I love to see it.
- 52:51Yeah, this is, yeah.
- 52:53You're not able to, you know, you're a bad man.
- 52:55I'm waiting.
- 52:55It's amazing.
- 52:56No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 52:57Like, oh.
- 52:58You know what, if you know, if you're playing the farthest
- 53:03and he comes on the pitch and starts giving it to you on the pitch,
- 53:06as a player, what do you do?
- 53:09Do you tell him to shut it?
- 53:10Do you tell him to walk?
- 53:11I'm a little fella.
- 53:12I mean, he's not the biggest.
- 53:14He's wild, but he's not the biggest.
- 53:15I couldn't make a dent in, in him.
- 53:18I'd be, I'd be nodding and smiling and then saying,
- 53:21yeah, thank you very much.
- 53:22And yeah, I wouldn't be, and then I'd probably,
- 53:24probably be running up to someone like you and say,
- 53:26you never guess what he's just said about you.
- 53:28I'll help you, Tony.
- 53:29If you're going on Monday, you're the failure,
- 53:31the next round of the door.
- 53:32The big owner of the big dunk saying,
- 53:34guess what, Peggy, guess what the,
- 53:35I just don't, I just don't,
- 53:37it's just for boss to stay.
- 53:39It, like you said, football is constantly evolving.
- 53:42Boss at the same time, there's some things that,
- 53:45that shouldn't be evolving.
- 53:46And I just think the involvement from above is just,
- 53:49it's madness.
- 53:51It let the manager, like I said to you,
- 53:53but I think managers are now becoming
- 53:55dispensable as players.
- 53:57And that's a worrying thing because a manager
- 53:59should be in control.
- 54:01A manager should be the, the book stops with him.
- 54:03That's how it should be.
- 54:04And I'll always say, I don't care.
- 54:05At what level this sport goes or what level for balls are,
- 54:09I always believe the book should stop with the manager.
- 54:12I don't care, you know.
- 54:14So the argument to that is that there's so much money invested
- 54:17into football by ownerships nowadays.
- 54:20That I definitely don't think that the owners
- 54:23should be gone onto the pitch, but they'll employ a
- 54:28director of football for one to the better term,
- 54:30because I manage every manager.
- 54:33You might have, you don't, you want to have one manager
- 54:36for 10 years, but you might have four managers in three,
- 54:39four years, and each manager might want
- 54:42to have different ideas or so to speak,
- 54:44a different set of players and different,
- 54:46and before you know it, you've got three or four different squads
- 54:49with a different players that can only do different things
- 54:52and they don't wait for the next manager.
- 54:54So one of the ideas is that you get a guy to overseer
- 54:58or a director of football or whatever the owner
- 55:00wants to call the time to him.
- 55:02And he's basically the guy pushing the club
- 55:05in the right direction and making sure that
- 55:07when you get a new manager, for instance,
- 55:09he's not just the best guy around, he suits your club
- 55:11and he's able to work with the players that you've got.
- 55:14And he's sort of, he's basically the guy
- 55:18that's keeping the club on track, right?
- 55:20So he's sort of managers come that could be completely
- 55:23obviously just.
- 55:23So who's a manager in the director of football or a manager?
- 55:26Because basically, he's compiled a squad together
- 55:28and he's telling you what to do.
- 55:29I don't disagree with that because a manager,
- 55:32if a manager's picking the team, he has to be able to
- 55:34know what players he's got and pick the players.
- 55:36And that's why I think a lot of clubs at the moment
- 55:38are getting in a bit of a trouble, a bit of a sticky situation
- 55:41because they want the manager to be holding to the ownership
- 55:46and be and be, yes, guys, I suppose, for one time a better turn.
- 55:50And I think, I think it's showing that that just doesn't work.
- 55:53The guy who's picking the teams got to be near and off the box.
- 55:56You want to find one that actually can buy into what you're doing
- 55:59higher up in the club as well.
- 56:00David Mosin's got to be responsible for everything.
- 56:03So that when he says to you, you're not playing
- 56:05because of this, you can't then go and winch to the director.
- 56:08He's a footballer at the ownership.
- 56:09You're not picking me.
- 56:10But I only did that twice.
- 56:14I just, the manager, I think I said the book should stop with the manager.
- 56:18David Mosin's done amazing at our place all
- 56:20of them years because the book stopped with him.
- 56:23Yes, of course, he answers to the people above them.
- 56:26And of course, he answers to a chairman and speaks them.
- 56:28But ultimately, he's in control.
- 56:30He lives and dies by the decisions he makes.
- 56:33I believe football managers now aren't being allowed to do that
- 56:37because they're just not in control.
- 56:40And I just doesn't sit well with me.
- 56:42I never will.
- 56:43I do see the need for directors of football
- 56:46because there's so much going on now.
- 56:48There's so many more things to take on board.
- 56:50But at the same time, I just think they should be there
- 56:53to support the manager.
- 56:56And that's why I think the difference is not telling you
- 56:58you shouldn't should have, but helps support me.
- 57:01So when a manager goes to him goes,
- 57:03listen, I need to ride back and I need to, I need to ride back
- 57:05and I need to ride Winger.
- 57:06Give us some options.
- 57:08Not like, I've got this feeling for you in you.
- 57:11These are your options.
- 57:12I believe it should be the other way around.
- 57:14But I don't know how it works at that kind of levels,
- 57:16you know what I mean?
- 57:16But I just think in football now,
- 57:19managers are just so dispensable.
- 57:21It's frightening.
- 57:22It really is because they're going at a crazy rate.
- 57:25I mean, Liam Lassini has gone into Chelsea.
- 57:28And it's like, does anyone genuinely believe
- 57:32he's telling them who's coming in and who's going out?
- 57:35I think he's openly sort of said that he's not.
- 57:37I think Mereska before him,
- 57:38he openly said that he's not in their football clubs
- 57:43that want to be completely in control,
- 57:45but they don't understand how to tactically pick a team
- 57:47so they seem to be bringing guys into the other.
- 57:49But you know, it's not an easy situation to be in.
- 57:54I don't think it's an easy situation for the players to be in.
- 57:56I mean, when managers are coming and going all the time
- 57:59and you're not quite sure who the boss is,
- 58:01but the cost of players these days,
- 58:04you're a cluber, I've got it.
- 58:06I haven't just been 50 million on a player
- 58:09and you've got five year contract to protect our club against
- 58:12other people coming in.
- 58:14And you have a dispute with the manager
- 58:15and it's 15 times cheaper to get rid of the manager.
- 58:19The manager's gone.
- 58:19Of course.
- 58:20Simple.
- 58:21No, it's come on. Let's just, let's just,
- 58:23we've had to type now again.
- 58:25Who's going down who's staying up?
- 58:29Barely and wolves are gone.
- 58:30I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm taking a back.
- 58:32I mean, you want to go down now?
- 58:34No, no, I'm not taking a back.
- 58:35No, I never want that.
- 58:36I don't want that.
- 58:37It shouldn't be allowed to happen.
- 58:38But I'm not saying it's lead.
- 58:40And our leads are obviously safe.
- 58:41And I said, it's smart.
- 58:42I was just going to be watching this.
- 58:43Before the last two games,
- 58:45I wasn't after them.
- 58:46It was before them.
- 58:47It wasn't too watched.
- 58:48He watched the United game.
- 58:49Yeah.
- 58:51I've seen them now 10 at the end.
- 58:52And I don't love lead.
- 58:53Big club.
- 58:54Got a couple of friends.
- 58:55Josh Walton's a good native man.
- 58:57Mad leads fan.
- 58:59So this, yeah, I think they're the one
- 59:01they say put a forest that I've
- 59:04forested out of it.
- 59:04Yeah.
- 59:05Can forest be dragged back in?
- 59:07Yeah.
- 59:08One win for both people.
- 59:09I think forest need a win.
- 59:11West down need a win.
- 59:13But probably two wins actually.
- 59:15I just still can't.
- 59:15I'm not having spares at all now.
- 59:17I just, I just, I just, I have to be to say,
- 59:19I don't know why I feel like that.
- 59:21It's cause of what my football club's done to me.
- 59:23It's what happens to me.
- 59:24I just feel like not.
- 59:24I've said it before though, but I mean,
- 59:27if spares get a win, they might get two or three.
- 59:30OK.
- 59:31So it's hopefully not against us.
- 59:32If they get a win, they might just get two or three
- 59:35because it'll be positivity and how it'll feel.
- 59:37And they'll realize they've actually
- 59:39got a squad full of good players.
- 59:40Because they have, you've got to have
- 59:42the best thing they don't have individual players.
- 59:45They're not a good team.
- 59:45The best thing they've done is give that manager
- 59:47a five-year contract.
- 59:48Because then players know he's, I'm listening to you.
- 59:51You're going to have to deal with him.
- 59:52This, this, you know, they might be with them in league one.
- 59:55Where are they going?
- 59:57Yeah.
- 59:58That's come on.
- 59:59He's just going to stop it.
- 1:00:00He's just going to drop it out there.
- 1:00:03If they're having a fire sale, if there's a play or a go.
- 1:00:06Listen, there's loads of players.
- 1:00:07I mean, I, I think on a Gallagher's a top player.
- 1:00:10Yeah, top, top player.
- 1:00:12I think Zabby Simmons, Simon's whatever you call them.
- 1:00:15You know, the decent player, Richie.
- 1:00:18I still miss him.
- 1:00:19Yeah.
- 1:00:20I do still miss Richie.
- 1:00:22They don't know what they've got with him.
- 1:00:24I just don't think they use him correctly.
- 1:00:26They never have.
- 1:00:28Because he's an end product man and a fighter and a scrapper.
- 1:00:32So he plays right for Brazil because they all do the fancy stuff
- 1:00:35and they can play him in.
- 1:00:36They've been asking them to do a bit more at Spares.
- 1:00:38And he's, that's not really his game.
- 1:00:40It's not his game.
- 1:00:41Not really his game.
- 1:00:41He wants to be on the end of stuff running through to stay.
- 1:00:43You could take one Spares player, which one would you take?
- 1:00:47Just one.
- 1:00:48Are we saying realistic options?
- 1:00:49So like, I don't want to take it out because let me tell you,
- 1:00:52it's the way I've got no playing, I've got no fighting for Europe.
- 1:00:54At we, we've got to get any top of the play we want.
- 1:00:58I don't care what anyone says.
- 1:00:59But the sake of what would suit our team the best.
- 1:01:01Yeah.
- 1:01:02Salanki.
- 1:01:03Hmm.
- 1:01:04Yeah.
- 1:01:05Interesting, Shells.
- 1:01:06Really?
- 1:01:07Do you think he's that good?
- 1:01:08I think he's, I think he's, I think he's, I think he's what we need.
- 1:01:15Okay.
- 1:01:16I'm looking around the squad and try basically what's better than what we've got
- 1:01:20or what improves us, what makes us a better team.
- 1:01:25Okay.
- 1:01:26Are you picking?
- 1:01:27Smart out.
- 1:01:28Actually, I got to argue with that to be fair.
- 1:01:31I'm just, he had one good season up almost.
- 1:01:34All right.
- 1:01:35Fair enough.
- 1:01:36I think he's a good player, but it's just, it's just one season now.
- 1:01:39Like he has to go 20 again somewhere else.
- 1:01:41Not like what it's his best and, and smash the granny out of it.
- 1:01:44He just, he had one good season up.
- 1:01:45He got on the moist out.
- 1:01:47Smash the granny out.
- 1:01:49He just smashed the back.
- 1:01:50Smash the back.
- 1:01:52Yeah.
- 1:01:53I just, let me have a moment of that.
- 1:01:54Just smash the back, Harvey.
- 1:01:55You just, you've had one mad season for Bournemouth
- 1:01:57and I just, you know, listen, Marcus Stewart's got a 20 primarily goals one season.
- 1:02:01Yeah, fair enough.
- 1:02:02And I just think I want to see more than one season.
- 1:02:05Yes, he showed great ability, but he hasn't let upstairs since he's been there.
- 1:02:09Do you want Richiebach?
- 1:02:10Is that what you, that's what Richiebach passion is up.
- 1:02:13But then I don't, I don't, I'm sorry, but it's a different team now.
- 1:02:19And I don't think Richie's not a better footballer than Kenan Jusbiot.
- 1:02:24I'm sorry, he's not, they're not, they're not different trying to be the same footballer.
- 1:02:28I know the not footballers, you, it's where Kenan Jusbiot plays.
- 1:02:32And then you've got, and then you've got Cleaver shots on the left.
- 1:02:34And you've got element and dials on the right, he ain't taking any of them places.
- 1:02:38Go on, then you, you ask the question, who are you bringing it?
- 1:02:42He says it's a lanky normal life.
- 1:02:44Yeah, yeah, it's good, after he's slanking.
- 1:02:52How long have we got?
- 1:02:53How long are we giving up for this question?
- 1:02:54I found the van's the player mate.
- 1:02:56He wants my stance to go down and we have Jada Bowen.
- 1:02:58I found the van.
- 1:02:58I found the van's the player mate.
- 1:03:00We're not getting him.
- 1:03:01He's a top player.
- 1:03:02You never know me.
- 1:03:03He is, he, he's a bit eccentric, but he's a player.
- 1:03:06I don't love Khanogale, but then there's Khanogale, the pro,
- 1:03:09we've got four centre-offs.
- 1:03:11Yeah, we have.
- 1:03:13There's right.
- 1:03:14So let's just play five with the back, be solid.
- 1:03:17Let's flip it off to the other side of the table.
- 1:03:20I've asked another officially bottled it.
- 1:03:22Oh, that's a bit, that's a bit, I don't think the run-ins done.
- 1:03:27I don't think it's done.
- 1:03:28I think it's definitely not done.
- 1:03:30I think, I think, I don't, I don't see it's not over.
- 1:03:33Both teams win and all the remaining games.
- 1:03:35Definitely not.
- 1:03:36And then there's points to be dropped here somewhere along the lines.
- 1:03:39I don't know where you're picking us.
- 1:03:41I think, do you think you're picking us to win the league from here?
- 1:03:44You have to say city.
- 1:03:46You're really city to win the league from from this position.
- 1:03:48But I've said Arsenal right up to this moment.
- 1:03:51But if city beat Burnley, which is getting played this week,
- 1:03:54it's not happened yet.
- 1:03:56If city beat Burnley, then they're top of the league.
- 1:03:59What city, city top of the league before games to go?
- 1:04:02I would give that up.
- 1:04:04Would you rather be in Arsenal's hands and you've got the points
- 1:04:07or would you rather be in the city's hands and you've got to play for them as a player?
- 1:04:11You'd rather have the points.
- 1:04:13The points on the board.
- 1:04:14You'd rather be in city's position right now because if they get the points,
- 1:04:17which is against Burnley, who they could potentially relegate because that's the golf in the teams.
- 1:04:22And if they win that game, they go top.
- 1:04:25You'd rather be city in this moment.
- 1:04:26As soon as Arsenal has to Bournemouth, you're happy to be city.
- 1:04:30Is yours a distraction for Arsenal at this phase at this stage?
- 1:04:35No, I don't think it is.
- 1:04:39I think it's helped them a little bit because they went from losing against
- 1:04:46from losing against Bournemouth to not having a whole week press and media and everything
- 1:04:53building up to that city game.
- 1:04:54They got through.
- 1:04:57But they had that game that everybody had to turn their attentions to
- 1:05:00and everybody had to just take their focus off to talk about that game.
- 1:05:04I think that helped them.
- 1:05:05I think it might help them the same in terms of focus.
- 1:05:08I think that's what helped City.
- 1:05:10Just the fact that they're out.
- 1:05:12Maybe.
- 1:05:13Yeah, they can just focus on that.
- 1:05:14They've just gone.
- 1:05:15It's all guns blazing at the Premier League.
- 1:05:17I think that's what's here in Arsenal.
- 1:05:20But to be fair, they've got a huge squad.
- 1:05:23I mean, I think that they're really missing an influential player.
- 1:05:27And you're in timber.
- 1:05:29I think he's he's tall.
- 1:05:31Yeah, love him.
- 1:05:32The missing in the Premier League in a minute.
- 1:05:35So, yeah, best fall back in the Premier League.
- 1:05:38And they were all lucky that he got injured and his debut last season,
- 1:05:41missed him the whole last season.
- 1:05:43That's how you do ask for me by surprise this year.
- 1:05:45The centre-off at City.
- 1:05:47Christian off Easter quickest centre-off.
- 1:05:49I haven't seen him in my life.
- 1:05:51I don't.
- 1:05:52He's really he's been a mentor.
- 1:05:53He's got to be in the Premier League season.
- 1:05:56When you were playing for your old school team,
- 1:05:58sorry, your old Sunday league team, you obviously banging in the goals.
- 1:06:01I was ever in centre-forward back then.
- 1:06:03But you keep telling me to tell me you're going to stop.
- 1:06:05Stop lying.
- 1:06:06I thought there was always a player in the team you got managers played.
- 1:06:09There was always a monster improved.
- 1:06:11I'm telling you, cushion off.
- 1:06:12We win in that in a minute.
- 1:06:13He's absolutely fantastic.
- 1:06:14He has an half improved since his debut last January.
- 1:06:17When he brought him in, when he looked small and slight and frail.
- 1:06:21I mean, he only found this season.
- 1:06:23What's up with me?
- 1:06:25I've only come this season.
- 1:06:26It's time to go to check.
- 1:06:29He played against Chelsea.
- 1:06:31He made a bad mistake at the very start of the game
- 1:06:33and looked like he cowered away.
- 1:06:34As I say, physically looked slight.
- 1:06:37To now, he looks like a brute of a centre-off.
- 1:06:40There is quicker than everyone else.
- 1:06:42He's stronger than ever else.
- 1:06:43He's making really good decisions, thinking, wow, that doesn't always stuff.
- 1:06:47Roger, he's coming into his own again now.
- 1:06:49Roger, he's starting to get a bit more involved.
- 1:06:51Bernardo Silver's just excellent.
- 1:06:53I mean, wow.
- 1:06:54I wasn't even going.
- 1:06:55Bernardo Silver, what was the start of it?
- 1:06:57You know, he looked me start, Tony.
- 1:06:59He's played in like 410 of Manchester City's last 415 games.
- 1:07:06I'm famous.
- 1:07:07Something like that.
- 1:07:08They're not the exact number.
- 1:07:10You don't want to know.
- 1:07:11He doesn't get loads of assists.
- 1:07:13He just controls games.
- 1:07:15He's my favourite family player.
- 1:07:16He just harvests around.
- 1:07:20He just, he's just everywhere.
- 1:07:22The big question is, David Silver was one of my favourite
- 1:07:25memory players ever.
- 1:07:26What would you like to play against us?
- 1:07:27Easy.
- 1:07:28Yeah.
- 1:07:30Really straightforward and easy.
- 1:07:32No, he was, he was brilliant.
- 1:07:34But, and I never thought I'd be saying this.
- 1:07:37Bernardo Silver now comes into the conversation.
- 1:07:39He pushes him.
- 1:07:41Who's the best silver at City?
- 1:07:43I don't think he gets past David Silver yet.
- 1:07:45But I think he does not push him.
- 1:07:47He wins it this year, does he?
- 1:07:49Which?
- 1:07:50He wins the Premier League this year, does he, does he edge?
- 1:07:54Probably, yeah.
- 1:07:55David Silver.
- 1:07:55He could, no.
- 1:07:58David won a few.
- 1:08:00Exceptional.
- 1:08:01He could be a great captain to lift or he could lift a trouble this year.
- 1:08:06Yeah, Bernardo Silver.
- 1:08:08Can I borrow a copy?
- 1:08:09I think of the, uh, the master travel.
- 1:08:11That's what we call it.
- 1:08:14Well, Ozzy, you, you reeled off some stats just before, for, for a bit of fun.
- 1:08:18Oh, that's a, that's finished with a bit of a quiz with a new segment.
- 1:08:23Ozzy vs Tony.
- 1:08:24Thanks for that.
- 1:08:25Oh, that's an original name.
- 1:08:26Ozzy, Ozzy has to get something in the ring.
- 1:08:29We beat you up on the golf course enough.
- 1:08:31You know, very, very early.
- 1:08:33I will be biased.
- 1:08:35I'm sure it'll be.
- 1:08:36No, and I'm sure you don't know the questions.
- 1:08:38I'll try and give you the easy ones, Tony.
- 1:08:40So today's topic is Derby winners.
- 1:08:44Oh, go on there.
- 1:08:45So the way it's going to work.
- 1:08:46I'll ask one of your question.
- 1:08:48You've got to try and guess who the goal scorer was.
- 1:08:50I'll give you the game and the year.
- 1:08:52And then you guess who the goal scorer was.
- 1:08:53If you don't get it, it gets passed over to the other person.
- 1:08:56This is fantastic.
- 1:08:57Right.
- 1:08:58So Tony, this is quite an easy one for you to start off with.
- 1:09:00Of course it is.
- 1:09:01December 2004.
- 1:09:03Ever and one Liverpool nail.
- 1:09:06Who is the goal scorer?
- 1:09:072004.
- 1:09:11I'm dreadful with years, but I'm just going to go Kevin Campbell
- 1:09:14and not that I'm filled.
- 1:09:15It's not.
- 1:09:16It's our brothers in part.
- 1:09:17I want to give you a beer like me.
- 1:09:20Give me a go.
- 1:09:21I told you.
- 1:09:22Because he assisted it with the 2000.
- 1:09:25Was Kevin Campbell's in 2000 and 1999?
- 1:09:291999 Kevin Campbell.
- 1:09:30We were more than.
- 1:09:31Kevin was 99.
- 1:09:32See what I mean?
- 1:09:33I'm talking about years.
- 1:09:34You can't ask me years.
- 1:09:35Just you could have given me a hint of I'll know that.
- 1:09:38So 2004.
- 1:09:40You're going to beat yourself if you don't get it.
- 1:09:43He was another super though.
- 1:09:46He was another super.
- 1:09:50Something with me.
- 1:09:52Bold.
- 1:09:55What might we say in that?
- 1:09:56No, I'm just saying number 26 2004.
- 1:10:02That's graphs.
- 1:10:03It's not always made.
- 1:10:05I'm a cosy cosy.
- 1:10:07Not until a year.
- 1:10:09Can you, can you not say you like?
- 1:10:11Can you give me a hint on the years it's in?
- 1:10:15I'm lost.
- 1:10:16What you mean like songs of that year and what film is out that year as well?
- 1:10:21Just to put you in them all just yet.
- 1:10:23I just need.
- 1:10:24I need a bit of help with years.
- 1:10:25It's not good.
- 1:10:26I say one, Susan one now.
- 1:10:27I just thought it's Kevin Campbell.
- 1:10:29Yeah.
- 1:10:29I think I'd be the sides you feel a big, I struggled.
- 1:10:31Let's say that was a practice round.
- 1:10:32OK, so you're still in the Tony?
- 1:10:34No, but of course.
- 1:10:37April 2012, Man City won United.
- 1:10:40Nail.
- 1:10:41Oh, wow.
- 1:10:46Later on in the season.
- 1:10:47A city.
- 1:10:48Yeah, Vincent company is indeed.
- 1:10:51Vincent company.
- 1:10:54Get in head one nail Aussie.
- 1:10:57A painful one for us, maybe given too much away.
- 1:11:02But December 2018 Liverpool one ever nil.
- 1:11:08Liverpool one ever nil.
- 1:11:10What year 2018?
- 1:11:12Was it Liverpool one ever nil or ever Liverpool?
- 1:11:16Liverpool one Liverpool one.
- 1:11:18Oh, you know what?
- 1:11:20That means it was I'm thinking that that's the horrible game where I took our baby.
- 1:11:24The game and it was in it was in the cup.
- 1:11:28Well, I haven't got down.
- 1:11:29I think it was a league and it was Curtis Jones, the scorer.
- 1:11:32It wasn't.
- 1:11:33OK, so it wasn't.
- 1:11:35I think I think it was the.
- 1:11:38Which is.
- 1:11:39Pickford mistook across the bar.
- 1:11:41I thought that was the way he should.
- 1:11:43One of the 90 plus 27 minutes.
- 1:11:46No, that was three to a really.
- 1:11:48They were really.
- 1:11:49No, so that's another point for Aussie.
- 1:11:51Yeah, here we go.
- 1:11:52Manchester Derby United for Man City three.
- 1:11:58In 2009.
- 1:12:01Is this my question or is I know that so I think I think I know.
- 1:12:06But you've got.
- 1:12:07No, no, it wasn't.
- 1:12:09It was Michael Owen.
- 1:12:10It was Michael Owen.
- 1:12:11Oh, my God.
- 1:12:12I was always out of knowledge.
- 1:12:14It's not my family's travel, but I just think I was.
- 1:12:17I scored nil.
- 1:12:18That was the last man.
- 1:12:19No, it was two on that game.
- 1:12:21Was it?
- 1:12:22See what I mean?
- 1:12:24Didn't even realise I knew this myself.
- 1:12:25This is great.
- 1:12:27I'll throw one more out there.
- 1:12:28We're doing a box and one next week.
- 1:12:31Mohamed Ali for Sonny List and in what year Leon?
- 1:12:341961.
- 1:12:37No, it's not far off.
- 1:12:40Foxy.
- 1:12:42I've got a part of me.
- 1:12:43It's not that year, but he's not.
- 1:12:45Was it 59?
- 1:12:46No, it's not.
- 1:12:48He went, he went to a gold medal.
- 1:12:50We got sent to him.
- 1:12:52He got sent to the.
- 1:12:54So the chance to get him in the draft.
- 1:12:56So we have to stop boxing for a bit.
- 1:12:57He'd already beat Liston by then.
- 1:12:59Yes, he had.
- 1:13:00Let's have one more North London.
- 1:13:02Are we Arsenal two, Tottenham 3 November 2010?
- 1:13:06No chance.
- 1:13:08Arsenal two, Tottenham 3.
- 1:13:112010.
- 1:13:13It's off on this one of three.
- 1:13:16Crouch, Lenin or Bentley.
- 1:13:21I'm going to give you a clue.
- 1:13:23Is it any of them?
- 1:13:24No.
- 1:13:25Centre Bach.
- 1:13:27Centre A for Tottenham.
- 1:13:30All the viral.
- 1:13:32All the fields.
- 1:13:35Oh, leave that one out there for the listeners.
- 1:13:37It's not.
- 1:13:39It's not what's the brilliant lad who used to play for the number.
- 1:13:41We could never train.
- 1:13:43Not the King.
- 1:13:45That's too late.
- 1:13:46It was Jonas Kubull.
- 1:13:48I'll never get that.
- 1:13:49It's Jonas.
- 1:13:51It's Kubull.
- 1:13:53What I'll finish on it, Ozzy.
- 1:13:55Ozzy's definitely the winner of the quiz for the end.
- 1:13:57We'll do the one every week.
- 1:13:59What was horrible, like going through that,
- 1:14:01is the amount of times Liverpool have done it to ever.
- 1:14:03It's actually the Screenshells.
- 1:14:05Barney, Adoni.
- 1:14:06Macarlester.
- 1:14:07Yeah.
- 1:14:08Horrible man.
- 1:14:09Deer Keith.
- 1:14:10Yeah, another horrible man.
- 1:14:11Yeah, played in that one.
- 1:14:13Thanks.
- 1:14:14Thanks for that.
- 1:14:15That was 90 plus two.
- 1:14:16That's the mark.
- 1:14:17That big, Davie.
- 1:14:18Why is it called that send off Jack?
- 1:14:20No, he sent off.
- 1:14:22He sent off.
- 1:14:23Hebo.
- 1:14:24And Steve.
- 1:14:25I don't know.
- 1:14:26Hebo brought him down.
- 1:14:27Remember.
- 1:14:29And then that's it.
- 1:14:30Just to tell you.
- 1:14:32Paul is Paul is yellow card out.
- 1:14:34Stephen walked past him.
- 1:14:35And basically it looked to everyone like he's gone to read that.
- 1:14:38He's last man.
- 1:14:39Any change pulled out his red card.
- 1:14:40And that wasn't the worst of it.
- 1:14:42They then got a penalty, which was a penalty to be there for a humble.
- 1:14:46Phil Neville got a second player and two won down.
- 1:14:49And then last minute of the game with nine men.
- 1:14:52We're the long throwin' in the box.
- 1:14:54Carrega pulled to only less got to the ground.
- 1:14:57And should they be in a pen and even Cloudberg says he can't understand.
- 1:14:59He didn't give it.
- 1:15:01And I don't think he came back to go to something about eight, nine years after that.
- 1:15:05I'd refer to it always, but he's done a few decisions against us on the beginning.
- 1:15:09In Darby's.
- 1:15:12Whatever his name is.
- 1:15:15It's just coming.
- 1:15:16Yeah, and he said, he managed a few Darby's.
- 1:15:20I was told in the stadium, one of the people wanted to do the fans were saying.
- 1:15:25He's a York, he sports on the seams in York.
- 1:15:28So I said, I bet it was Bolton.
- 1:15:29And he's a Bolton fan in the year.
- 1:15:31We sent Bolton down.
- 1:15:32That's why it's us.
- 1:15:34I was just, I was making any, no, but that's a big conspiracy.
- 1:15:37Well, you know, who knows?
- 1:15:39I have to say something, but, you know, we didn't have a thing.
- 1:15:42It's biased.
- 1:15:43I think they go into the game trying to do the best, whether they have a game or the best book.
- 1:15:47But plays in the play.
- 1:15:49I've got to go to back.
- 1:15:50I get it plays in the year as does now.
- 1:15:53But I'm very advantageous.
- 1:15:54He's just he's riffing the game and he's just allowed him to be influenced like each that.
- 1:15:59There's no way in this world that wasn't a book.
- 1:16:03And when he does that and I just think that changed the whole dynamic of the game.
- 1:16:07He sends it off.
- 1:16:08Now I want to yell out, you ain't throwing a tackle.
- 1:16:09Anyone, you ain't putting it in on Beto.
- 1:16:11You ain't getting stuck in like he can.
- 1:16:13And I just think it sets the whole tempo up.
- 1:16:15But it's just book pick, because we don't like it.
