- 1:56Speaker 4: Keighley was great. Even Roger Craig, who's fighting some things,
- 2:01Speaker 4: was fantastic. And uh hell adam Minitarry had a great
- 2:06Speaker 4: joke on Bill Belichick that was hilarious. I mean, come on,
- 2:12Speaker 4: but we're live at the Bank Plus Studio. I'd like
- 2:14Speaker 4: to know did you watch the Drew Brees speech or
- 2:18Speaker 4: have you seen clips of it? Hit us up on

- 2:26Speaker 4: eight five eight eight five three seven seven six three
- 2:30Speaker 4: seven seven six. We'll do an out of bounds roll call.
- 2:33Speaker 4: And then did you see any of the speeches Breeze, Keickley,
- 2:40Speaker 4: Larry Fitzgerald, Cragg, Vin Terry and so on. Did you
- 2:44Speaker 4: catch any of it? What did you think? Actually, you know,
- 2:48Speaker 4: I don't watch exhibition football. But Saturday night, Wendy had
- 2:52Speaker 4: a show. So I went out to the Whiskey sixty
- 2:55Speaker 4: one man room and I watched Haynes King play. I
- 2:58Speaker 4: could not believe it that I was watching that. Now
- 3:00Speaker 4: I was interested because he was so much fun to
- 3:03Speaker 4: watch at Georgia Tack. You know, Jimbo Fisher couldn't figure
- 3:06Speaker 4: out what to do with him. But then he got
- 3:08Speaker 4: to Buster Faulkner and Georgia Tack and they figured out
- 3:13Speaker 4: what to do with him. And uh, Buster Faulkner was
- 3:16Speaker 4: the OC at Georgia Tack. Now he's the o C
- 3:20Speaker 4: for the University of Florida Gators, which Old Miss will
- 3:25Speaker 4: play in Game four Game four for the Old Miss Rebels.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Mississippi State does not play Florida. They did last year,
- 3:33Speaker 4: but I think I've said a couple of times that
- 3:35Speaker 4: they do this year and they do not. So but
- 3:40Speaker 4: Old Miss will face Buster Faulkner OC for Georgia Tech
- 3:45Speaker 4: parlays that into heading over to John Summerw's deal at Florida. Anyway, Uh,
- 3:51Speaker 4: it gave us the one takeaway from the weekend was
- 3:56Speaker 4: you know, I'm watching New Orleans Saints fans and they
- 4:01Speaker 4: are I mean, they're emotional, you know. And Drew did
- 4:06Speaker 4: such a magnificent job in his speech. He was It
- 4:10Speaker 4: was heartfelt how he acknowledged a lot of people but
- 4:14Speaker 4: kept it moving and from winning a state high school
- 4:18Speaker 4: football Championship, to tearing his knee up in high school,
- 4:24Speaker 4: to not getting any offers in Texas and going to
- 4:29Speaker 4: Purdue and then the uh San Diego Chargers, which was
- 4:34Speaker 4: my favorite team growing up. And I'm wearing a Chargers
- 4:36Speaker 4: pullover and I'll be wearing a Peter Malaura out of
- 4:41Speaker 4: bounds Whiskey sixty one in a minute. But for him
- 4:45Speaker 4: to go to the San Diego Chargers and play with
- 4:48Speaker 4: Antonio Gates and Ladanian, Tomlinson and Junior Seol and Rodney Harrison,
- 4:54Speaker 4: you know, and referencing all those guys too, you forget
- 4:57Speaker 4: what an impact San Diego had on him too before
- 5:00Speaker 4: the shoulder injury, and of course going to New Orleans
- 5:03Speaker 4: and making history. And I thought it was also cool
- 5:07Speaker 4: that Sean Payton was so emotional. Uh he was a
- 5:10Speaker 4: wreck in a good way, and I thought that was
- 5:13Speaker 4: special too. So it was good. It was it give
- 5:20Speaker 4: you goose pumps. It gave me goosebumps. The people that
- 5:23Speaker 4: he talked about that had an impact on his life.
- 5:26Speaker 4: He was slighted and doubted his whole life, which is
- 5:30Speaker 4: crazy considering his accomplishments.
- 5:33Speaker 3: But that was fun.
- 5:35Speaker 4: And to see him go into the Hall of fame
- 5:37Speaker 4: who at Nation celebrate. I enjoyed Jeff Duncan's piece yesterday
- 5:41Speaker 4: Nolah dot Com walking you through more of the uh
- 5:46Speaker 4: of the story. Jake from Yazoo says, bo I did
- 5:51Speaker 4: not watch. I hope that you and Funk play some cuts.
- 5:54Speaker 3: We will.
- 5:55Speaker 4: We're gonna have all kinds of stuff on it, and
- 5:59Speaker 4: it's gonna be great and I'm looking forward to it.
- 6:02Speaker 3: And it was.
- 6:05Speaker 4: What a way to reminisce and think back to all
- 6:07Speaker 4: the great times that you had as you followed. You
- 6:11Speaker 4: didn't even have to be a Saints fan. You could
- 6:13Speaker 4: just follow Breeze. I mean, we do that with Mahomes
- 6:17Speaker 4: or Montana or Brady or you didn't have to like
- 6:20Speaker 4: be fans of their team to go, oh wow, this
- 6:22Speaker 4: is incredible following this journey of ten or fifteen years
- 6:26Speaker 4: of amazing quarterback play. I love the way he framed
- 6:31Speaker 4: it up. You know, I don't know what drewsyic Q is,
- 6:36Speaker 4: but my god, when he starts talking, he talks on
- 6:39Speaker 4: another level as far as you know, describing not not
- 6:45Speaker 4: play calling, but just what it takes to prepare as
- 6:51Speaker 4: an NFL quarterback. We're gonna have one of Drew Brees's
- 6:54Speaker 4: good friends Johnny Blancher on ye Old Town in restaurant
- 7:00Speaker 4: Breeze reference. That is his favorite spot on Carrollton. That's
- 7:04Speaker 4: near and dear to me.
- 7:08Speaker 3: One.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Well, I guess technically two of my aunt's restaurants were
- 7:11Speaker 4: at the very end of Saint Charles and Carrollton. So
- 7:14Speaker 4: that was a spot that I grew up at starting
- 7:16Speaker 4: in nineteen eighty and so when I was reading more
- 7:21Speaker 4: and more about him, I knew about some of the
- 7:23Speaker 4: other spots that he hit. But this one's it's in
- 7:27Speaker 4: a cool spot. It's most people don't Most people don't
- 7:32Speaker 4: get uptown, or if they do, they go real quick
- 7:34Speaker 4: and come back. My aunt happened to live. You know,
- 7:39Speaker 4: you could almost grab a nine iron and put a
- 7:41Speaker 4: golf ball down and hit two lane.
- 7:44Speaker 3: So that whole area.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Has got amazing neighborhood restaurants, as some of you know
- 7:51Speaker 4: that are able to, you know, get out of the
- 7:52Speaker 4: quarter every now and then and or the warehouse district
- 7:55Speaker 4: or the Marine and see what else is happening. But
- 7:58Speaker 4: Johnny Blancher will join U at eight thirty, and they
- 8:02Speaker 4: were buds, and we're gonna get some really good stories.
- 8:05Speaker 4: On Breeze Jackson, what'd you think about, Uh, Drew Brees
- 8:10Speaker 4: going in the Hall of Fame. It's a great, great
- 8:13Speaker 4: thing for it's you know, it's a uh, it's a
- 8:15Speaker 4: hero too many.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, is it was he your hero? Yeah?
- 8:21Speaker 4: You know there could have been a time okay, yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 4: it was a spurt. Yeah, when he was towing us
- 8:27Speaker 4: to you know, multiple championships. I say championships because uh,
- 8:31Speaker 4: you know a fantasy Oh did you have him on
- 8:34Speaker 4: your fantasy team? Yeah, he towed us to the ship
- 8:36Speaker 4: at least twice.
- 8:38Speaker 3: You won.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Uh you won fantasy football with Breeze of course? Yeah, right, yeah, wow, Okay,
- 8:46Speaker 4: him and Michael Thomas when he was real nice boy,
- 8:49Speaker 4: he lost his mind, right, he did go though. He
- 8:53Speaker 4: was there and uh and there were a lot of
- 8:56Speaker 4: Breeze's former teammates there, Chargers and Saints and Purdue. That
- 9:00Speaker 4: was cool when he references to really really close buds
- 9:03Speaker 4: from from Purdue too. So Drew Brees in the Hall
- 9:07Speaker 4: of Fame. Good morning, Welcome in. Johnny Blancher, a friend
- 9:10Speaker 4: of his who owns the restaurant.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Did he ye old college in?
- 9:18Speaker 2: Ye?
- 9:20Speaker 4: I didn't know that Drew had a beverage every now
- 9:22Speaker 4: and then. Cordy Miths report he did. I thought I
- 9:25Speaker 4: don't carry the way, but I thought he was a
- 9:28Speaker 4: total tee toddler back with the big board coming up next?
- 9:54Speaker 2: What big board man? He's got a set of myths
- 10:10Speaker 2: on him.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Yep, good morning football season is here. We just had
- 10:18Speaker 4: a NFL exhibition game which was actually interesting with Haines
- 10:22Speaker 4: King playing crazy and what got into me? And then
- 10:27Speaker 4: to see Drew Brees go in what about? How good
- 10:30Speaker 4: of guys they are? Larry Fitzgerald, Drew Brees, Roger Cragg,
- 10:36Speaker 4: Luke Keighley, Adam Denna Terry. I couldn't get enough of
- 10:40Speaker 4: it over the weekend listening to their speeches or their clips.
- 10:43Speaker 4: I mean, these are just really good dudes. I mean,
- 10:48Speaker 4: you know, there was a common theme and thread between them.
- 10:52Speaker 4: They're good guys, and they all have successful careers where
- 10:56Speaker 4: it takes incredible which Drew tall about We're gonna drop
- 11:00Speaker 4: it in a few minutes, incredible focus and discipline and accountability.
- 11:06Speaker 4: All of them had it. I mean people try to bucket.
- 11:09Speaker 4: I mean Drew Brees laid out the excruciating gross stuff
- 11:14Speaker 4: that he had to do to be what he wanted
- 11:17Speaker 4: to be Adam Vin and Terry's stories wild, which I
- 11:23Speaker 4: knew some of it, I didn't know all of it.
- 11:26Speaker 4: I watched Roger Craig as a kid with the forty
- 11:29Speaker 4: nine ers. I loved him because they were actually not
- 11:31Speaker 4: three yards in a cloud of dust. And Bill Walsh
- 11:34Speaker 4: was a genius. But man, those dudes could play. Larry
- 11:39Speaker 4: Fitzgerald just an incredible story, played really away from all
- 11:46Speaker 4: of us in a way. You know, it was if
- 11:51Speaker 4: he played now, like if he started today and just
- 11:53Speaker 4: stated Arizona, it would be different because of the red
- 11:57Speaker 4: zone and you get all the games, you know, during
- 12:01Speaker 4: that first chunk of his career, and Drew's like, you
- 12:06Speaker 4: weren't gonna watch.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Rough breeze out in San Diego. You wouldn't have.
- 12:09Speaker 4: It wouldn't have been the same love affairs y'all have,
- 12:11Speaker 4: which I love, you know of him being two and
- 12:13Speaker 4: a half hours down the road and have the most
- 12:15Speaker 4: impact on the state of Louisiana than anybody in the
- 12:18Speaker 4: history of the state. But he would have played off
- 12:22Speaker 4: the grid, Seattle off the grid, you know, so Arizona,
- 12:27Speaker 4: you just didn't. You didn't get to see it that much.
- 12:30Speaker 4: And same with Benne Terry. I know he was a
- 12:32Speaker 4: kicker and he didn't play as me, plays as Luke
- 12:36Speaker 4: Keigley Bits and Drew and Roger Craig. But even then
- 12:44Speaker 4: with his first Patriots Colts career, you had to have
- 12:48Speaker 4: it on your you know, it needed to be a
- 12:50Speaker 4: noon three o'clock deal. And then over time, now we
- 12:54Speaker 4: all all have access and it's pretty incredible. And then
- 12:58Speaker 4: the red zone with y'all know what that y'all know
- 13:01Speaker 4: that impact is already on. We love offense, we love
- 13:04Speaker 4: offensive skilled players. Come on, we'll get up when when
- 13:07Speaker 4: our team punts or they punt, we'll get up to
- 13:09Speaker 4: go get a beer. Or when we're on defense, well
- 13:12Speaker 4: we'll do that. We like to watch quarterbacks, receivers and
- 13:15Speaker 4: sew on. But and also that Ben a Terry coach.
- 13:20Speaker 4: I mean that he played at the Patriots and the
- 13:23Speaker 4: Colts during the time where Brady and Manning and Belichick
- 13:27Speaker 4: and the Colts. You know, the cults are always always
- 13:29Speaker 4: trying to turn the Patriots in or something.
- 13:33Speaker 3: And they did.
- 13:33Speaker 4: They got a role, I mean Peyton Manning and Bill
- 13:35Speaker 4: Polly and got a rule change because they couldn't beat
- 13:37Speaker 4: Belichick and the Patriots. So they went to a fit
- 13:39Speaker 4: at the New York City offices. But I mean Ben
- 13:43Speaker 4: and Terry played with the Patriots and the Colts, and
- 13:48Speaker 4: then you forget that Drew played with Hall of famers
- 13:50Speaker 4: Junior sayout, Antonio Gates, Ladanian, Tomlinson, and then you forget
- 13:57Speaker 4: that before Rodney Harrison again, he was playing off the grid,
- 14:03Speaker 4: you know, before he joins Darth Vader and the evil
- 14:07Speaker 4: Empire of the Patriots, Rodney.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Was with the Chargers.
- 14:12Speaker 4: God, you're talking about an underrated player, underrated team that
- 14:16Speaker 4: got his filthy. He believed in being an absolute shrewd assassin.
- 14:21Speaker 4: That's just the way he looked at it. Kill or
- 14:23Speaker 4: be killed. So how you doing there?
- 14:28Speaker 3: I'm good. I can't believe you made it today.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:31Speaker 4: It was a weekend, was it. Did you did you party?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Yes?
- 14:36Speaker 3: I did something. I have no idea what it was.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Did you leave the house twice? Okay three times? What
- 14:44Speaker 4: all did you do when it got some d Then
- 14:46Speaker 4: when he did some Uh, I was back and forth
- 14:49Speaker 4: between the gas station. You know that those pairtive stops.
- 14:52Speaker 4: You know how to go to the gas station. Okay,
- 14:54Speaker 4: I gotta get my candy every night. So I go
- 14:55Speaker 4: at least twice a day. Oh, you went and got candy. Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 4: grocery store loaded up on a bunch of good girl. Yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 4: loaded up with a bunch of cereal. That was good yesterday.
- 15:05Speaker 4: It's all the weekend.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Uh.
- 15:08Speaker 4: That sounds just incredible. Uh yeah, so you went to
- 15:14Speaker 4: the store twice. In the grocery store, went to the
- 15:16Speaker 4: gas there is like four or five.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Boy, that that sounds amazing. I love the gas season.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Okay, I try to do they okay, or at least
- 15:29Speaker 4: you think they do. Let me guess you go up
- 15:32Speaker 4: there and chew the fat with them and talk to
- 15:36Speaker 4: them about Yeah they got nothing right?
- 15:39Speaker 3: All right, well, good deal.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Hey something else that I was looking at, ed Ozeron
- 15:42Speaker 4: is doing cameos now and getting paid for it.
- 15:47Speaker 3: And I just want you to know that this is.
- 15:51Speaker 4: You know that you're living in an amazing country when
- 15:55Speaker 4: Eddie O is doing cameos and getting paid.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Hey, okay, yes.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I need to get online and see how much he
- 16:05Speaker 4: is so that he can give us a cameo. The
- 16:09Speaker 4: show anniversary is October one, and dude, do y'all think
- 16:16Speaker 4: that I'll ask you on the Dancing Rabbit off text
- 16:19Speaker 4: line six oh one, eight eight five three, seven seven six.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I don't want to hear all that chats do y'all?
- 16:30Speaker 4: Do y'all think that we should hire Eddio to give
- 16:34Speaker 4: us a celebratory cameo around I don't know if it's
- 16:38Speaker 4: twenty three years or whatever.
- 16:39Speaker 3: It will be October one.
- 16:43Speaker 4: The text line is six oh one eight eight five three,
- 16:48Speaker 4: seven seven six. This man's picking up Hyundai's left and right.
- 16:53Speaker 3: This is dropping the bucket. He's just picking up Hundais.
- 16:56Speaker 3: You'd pay a couple hundred for this right all day.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I don't know what do you think.
- 17:00Speaker 4: I don't think there's any doubt, okay, Well, I mean
- 17:03Speaker 4: with the history of him of the state, like if
- 17:05Speaker 4: he never coached here, I agree, Okay, I could I
- 17:07Speaker 4: could busiest passing because he was the head coach at
- 17:10Speaker 4: Old Miss and the Homer commercial in the hull. Yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 4: I mean I want a Humma. You need a humma.
- 17:15Speaker 4: We need a humma. We love humma's. I mean he
- 17:17Speaker 4: may do that for the canmeo. Yeah. So I had
- 17:23Speaker 4: a really good friend who didn't go to Mississippi State
- 17:25Speaker 4: or Old Miss, who had an incredible quote twenty years ago,
- 17:30Speaker 4: maybe more whatever roughly when Edio he said, I'm going
- 17:35Speaker 4: to tell you this, having lived here, he's very successful,
- 17:39Speaker 4: older than me, probably at least ten twenty. But I'll
- 17:42Speaker 4: never forget this didn't go to Old miss or Mississippi State.
- 17:46Speaker 4: He said, let me tell you something. When that group
- 17:50Speaker 4: starts getting made fun of at Christmas parties, you know
- 17:53Speaker 4: he don't have a shot. And he was referencing that
- 17:56Speaker 4: Ozerian that it sounded cool, the southern cal recur thing
- 18:00Speaker 4: and all that.
- 18:02Speaker 3: But he you know.
- 18:05Speaker 4: They want more Alice Beach Lane than swamps. EDIOH, Yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. I mean, we got we
- 18:13Speaker 4: got deer camp Pete and Buckshot Jeff. Now, but I'd
- 18:17Speaker 4: say swamp driven Eddy, oh, right from deep in the
- 18:22Speaker 4: marshes of the swamps of Louisiana.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Man, these are are the cameos good? I mean well,
- 18:30Speaker 3: I mean, I think any video with him in the
- 18:32Speaker 3: there is gonna be good.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Now he's in that twilight stage of his life and
- 18:36Speaker 4: career where anytime he's on camera it's worth something. I
- 18:41Speaker 4: tend to agree with you a big I'd say he's
- 18:43Speaker 4: a number of personal video started one to eighty, average
- 18:46Speaker 4: length fifty three seconds delivered within twenty four hours, aka
- 18:50Speaker 4: Eddio is churning them out.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Guy's a machine. He's a machine. What'd he cut these?
- 18:56Speaker 3: You think?
- 18:56Speaker 4: I mean he's he waking up early born and rolling
- 18:58Speaker 4: over and going, you know what, let me handle the cameos.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Well, that's a good question.
- 19:02Speaker 4: You know, I don't know if he does some in
- 19:04Speaker 4: the football office, just because it only takes a few minutes,
- 19:06Speaker 4: like he just reference or are you you know, at
- 19:09Speaker 4: his condo or house in Baton.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Rouge hit twelve, he's go hit a good number. You
- 19:16Speaker 3: think he's in the football building right now. Yeah, we're
- 19:18Speaker 3: doing cameos right idea?
- 19:23Speaker 4: How much do you think Kiffin laughed when EDDIEO showed
- 19:27Speaker 4: him what he was doing.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Wait, wait till Adio shows up the revenue. Generally Kiffin
- 19:32Speaker 3: might do something.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Hey, we're powered by Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. The text
- 19:36Speaker 4: line we want to hear from you six oh one
- 19:38Speaker 4: eight eight five three seven seven six.
- 20:04Speaker 2: If we went the dogs were taking the ball, We've
- 20:06Speaker 2: got to go down the field.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Score you gonna show me the money?
- 20:13Speaker 4: Who out of bounds one oh five nine the zone
- 20:17Speaker 4: ESPN we continue to celebrate Drew Brees number nine the Goat.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Sean Payton was the presenter over the week. Boom Boom
- 20:26Speaker 4: did the introduction. Uh, Chris Berman.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Boom, mister Brown.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Ivy leaguer Drew Brees into the Pro Football Hall
- 20:39Speaker 4: of Fame. We are about to drop the speed well
- 20:43Speaker 4: a chunk of the Drew Brees speech Canton, Ohio where
- 20:48Speaker 4: he thanked so many people and he did his speech
- 20:52Speaker 4: was amazing, It was unbelievable. This is ESPN one oh
- 20:56Speaker 4: five nine the zone, ESPN one five none the zone.
- 21:01Speaker 2: We went to talks were taken the ball. We've plann
- 21:03Speaker 2: to go down the field. Score.
- 21:05Speaker 3: And don't forget that.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Ed Ozeron is doing your next cameo for your birthday,
- 21:09Speaker 4: your kid's birthday, or your anniversary. I mean, of course
- 21:14Speaker 4: your wife wants a an anniversary congratulations from Edio.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Right, we went to talks, were taken the ball. We've
- 21:22Speaker 2: plann to go down the field.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Score Eddio doing cameos now, God bless America and capitalism
- 21:29Speaker 4: and all the crazy stuff that you can do today
- 21:32Speaker 4: to generate money. And I love it, love every bit
- 21:34Speaker 4: of it. We're we're Jackson's thinking about this. We're thinking
- 21:40Speaker 4: about asking Edio to do a cameo for us for
- 21:46Speaker 4: the show's anniversary October one.
- 21:48Speaker 2: We went to talks. We've taken the ball, We've belann
- 21:51Speaker 2: to go down the field. Score.
- 21:52Speaker 4: There's some good ones here. Oh yeah, there's some good
- 21:55Speaker 4: ones from him or just other people.
- 21:56Speaker 3: There's a there's a list of folks.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Okay, I mean, you know, anywhere from John Gruden, Oh,
- 22:05Speaker 4: which would be pretty good. Yeah, it's expensive, but he's that,
- 22:08Speaker 4: I bet he is. He is rather expensive. About four fifty.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Okay, four hundred and fifty for about I think sixty seconds.
- 22:15Speaker 4: You got, I mean anywhere from you got the Calliando
- 22:20Speaker 4: guy that that that is Jay John Gruden.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Didn't we have Caliendo on all the time ago? Yeah?
- 22:25Speaker 4: It was right, Yeah, I know we had Larry the
- 22:29Speaker 4: cable guy and his other buddy Billing schrom or whatever.
- 22:32Speaker 4: And then but didn't we have Kelly Yeah, yeah, the
- 22:34Speaker 4: dude from Hattiesburg. Yeah right, didn't he put us in
- 22:37Speaker 4: with Calliando? Okay, all right when he did a show
- 22:41Speaker 4: down there? Yeah, the singer. Yeah, that's right. Shooter McGavin's
- 22:44Speaker 4: on this list, Shooter mccabin.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Dude.
- 22:50Speaker 3: That Twitter account is great. Yeah, that's a good one.
- 22:53Speaker 3: It's good. John Daly's on here, John Daily.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Rockers on here, John Rocker from the Atlanta I
- 23:00Speaker 4: haven't heard that name in twenty years. Oh that's okay.
- 23:03Speaker 4: He's only sixty five bucks. So rock is very very affordable,
- 23:09Speaker 4: very affordable. Okay, all right, I mean got it.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Rick Flair is on here, obviously he'll do them, and
- 23:15Speaker 3: it's five hundred plus. Emmitt Smith's on here. Michael Irvin?
- 23:19Speaker 3: How much is Emmitt? Emmitt? Seven twenty five? That doesn't
- 23:22Speaker 3: surprise me for one minute? Okay.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's some pretty good ROI right here here,
- 23:28Speaker 4: I just need you to talk for fifty seconds to
- 23:30Speaker 4: sixty seconds to make seven hundred and fifty bucks. Okay,
- 23:33Speaker 4: because because you once the cameo is man, you own it, right,
- 23:38Speaker 4: I can do what I want with absolutely.
- 23:39Speaker 3: That's mine. I mean that's my assumption. Yeah, man, what
- 23:43Speaker 3: was Michael Irban? How much is he? Irvin?
- 23:46Speaker 4: Five hundred is the base? All these are the base numbers.
- 23:50Speaker 4: You can obviously get these packages. Look, I mean you
- 23:53Speaker 4: can do VIP this video, okay, thirty five Irvin?
- 23:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I don't know what that business video wil consist of,
- 24:00Speaker 4: but I think it's I mean, it's gonna be a
- 24:01Speaker 4: lot longer in a minute.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Got it? Wow?
- 24:03Speaker 4: Ed ozeron doing cameos, Okay, who's who's can you you
- 24:09Speaker 4: know Mike Leach did cameos and but can you imagine
- 24:12Speaker 4: or retired Mike Leach doing cameo? Oh my god, Oh wow,
- 24:17Speaker 4: these are ten minutes because I think Mike would be
- 24:19Speaker 4: on the higher I mean, I think Mike could get
- 24:21Speaker 4: two to four hundred bucks just because he's such a eclectic.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Yeah, just what's he going to say? Right? What's the
- 24:28Speaker 3: can of course Mike only going sixty seconds? Yeah right?
- 24:31Speaker 4: You know, I just all the times that I talked
- 24:34Speaker 4: to him on the phone, I mean, one on one
- 24:36Speaker 4: was fantastic, and we we would tape him because he
- 24:42Speaker 4: you just didn't know he couldn't do a segment. And
- 24:45Speaker 4: what I mean by that to our listeners is you
- 24:50Speaker 4: didn't know what direction was you were going to go,
- 24:53Speaker 4: and so you couldn't try to count one. No, you
- 24:56Speaker 4: couldn't drop Mike in a nine minute segment. Mike Leach,
- 25:00Speaker 4: Eddie O doing cameos. That's incredible, it really and and
- 25:05Speaker 4: Leech was doing it when he was at Washington State.
- 25:10Speaker 4: I don't know if he was set up to get paid.
- 25:11Speaker 4: I assume he was. I just can remember the picture
- 25:14Speaker 4: before he took the Mississippi State job. I guess it
- 25:16Speaker 4: was the year they went eleven and two at Gardner
- 25:18Speaker 4: Minshew and he did some He did a cameo for
- 25:20Speaker 4: somebody and maybe it got sticky on on social or something.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Anyway, Uh, that was cool, you pick.
- 25:27Speaker 4: So you pulled up Emmitt Smith, Michael Urban, John Rocker,
- 25:30Speaker 4: Eddie Oh, and there's a million other.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a chunk.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Okay, they got them up to, you know, Mike l
- 25:36Speaker 4: Lover to do you a ten minute video. So then
- 25:41Speaker 4: you're getting in the five thousand plus, right, Okay, okay,
- 25:47Speaker 4: all right, Well, I mean that's some good that's some
- 25:49Speaker 4: good side hustle money. I mean, if you can make
- 25:51Speaker 4: ten to fifteen thousand dollars a month doing cameos plus
- 25:55Speaker 4: all the other things that these guys do all day
- 25:57Speaker 4: as far as announcing and and you know they get
- 26:00Speaker 4: paid to show up to golf events and they endorse
- 26:02Speaker 4: this in that, that's pretty damn good.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I mean, do you go there, do you go to
- 26:06Speaker 3: like Dolly Parton? What's Dolly?
- 26:08Speaker 4: How much is she I would think she's pretty expensive.
- 26:12Speaker 4: In fact, let me guess. Hold on, she's gotta be
- 26:14Speaker 4: more expensive than it. I'm gonna say yes, but let's
- 26:18Speaker 4: see because I know you had him it at seven
- 26:21Speaker 4: twenty five ish, and so I'm gonna go, she's more expensive.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Oh she's not.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Okay. I wonder if she would have been in her heyday,
- 26:32Speaker 4: if we actually had iPhones in nineteen eighty one.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I don't know. Something to think about.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Maybe right island's in the stream her and Kenny Rogers,
- 26:40Speaker 4: who knows we are The Out of Bounds Show, ESPN
- 26:44Speaker 4: one oh five nine The Zone. Let's drop the Drew
- 26:46Speaker 4: Brees some of the Drew Brees press conference. The show
- 26:51Speaker 4: is brought to you by Farm Bureau Insurance. We want

- 27:05Speaker 4: Go with the Home team, Powered about Farm Bureau Insurance.
- 27:09Speaker 4: This is Drew Brees and his speech at the Hall
- 27:12Speaker 4: of Fame.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 27:19Speaker 5: To the Hall of Fame class of twenty twenty six.
- 27:22Speaker 5: I cannot have asked for a better class of men,
- 27:25Speaker 5: players and contributors to the great game of football. It
- 27:29Speaker 5: is an absolute honor to join this elite fraternity with you,
- 27:32Speaker 5: and we are now bonded for life to all the
- 27:35Speaker 5: Hall of famers. You've inspired generations, You've passed it forward,
- 27:40Speaker 5: and we will do the same. It is impossible to
- 27:44Speaker 5: properly articulate or encapsulate all the feelings, emotions and appreciation
- 27:49Speaker 5: that comes along with a twenty year NFL career in
- 27:51Speaker 5: the time that we have, but I will do my
- 27:53Speaker 5: best to entertain and enlighten you with the stories, the
- 27:56Speaker 5: places and people who shape my mindset, directed my trajectory,
- 28:02Speaker 5: and defined my career. We may laugh, we may cry.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Chance I make it through this without crying is zero.
- 28:10Speaker 5: But most of all, I hope we leave with a
- 28:12Speaker 5: greater love, respect, and reverence for the virtues of this game.
- 28:17Speaker 5: I've always relished the opportunity to play sports and be
- 28:20Speaker 5: a part of the team. I came from a very
- 28:23Speaker 5: athletic and competitive family. In fact, this story best sums
- 28:26Speaker 5: up how important sports was to our family growing up.
- 28:29Speaker 5: My uncle Marty Akins, was an All American quarterback at
- 28:32Speaker 5: the University of Texas, running the wishbone offense with future
- 28:34Speaker 5: Pro Football Hall of Famer Earl Campbell. When Marty was
- 28:38Speaker 5: in elementary school, he was called in the principal's office
- 28:42Speaker 5: with my grandfather, Ray Aikins, who was a legendary high
- 28:45Speaker 5: school football coach in the state of Texas. The principal
- 28:48Speaker 5: went on to say that she had some concerns about
- 28:51Speaker 5: what young Marty was being taught at home. Apparently in
- 28:54Speaker 5: class that day, Marty had been asked to stand up
- 28:55Speaker 5: and name the four seasons. Instead of saying summer, winter,
- 29:00Speaker 5: and spring, Marty instead said football, basketball, baseball, and track.
- 29:10Speaker 5: I'd like to thank all of the members of my
- 29:12Speaker 5: family for hardwiring this competitive desire and spirit into my
- 29:16Speaker 5: system at a very early age. To my father, Chip,
- 29:20Speaker 5: thank you that the answer to me whenever I would
- 29:22Speaker 5: ask to play catch, to pitch to me, shoot hoops
- 29:25Speaker 5: with me, or drop me off of the field was
- 29:28Speaker 5: always yes. My mother, Mina Ruth Akins, was the most
- 29:33Speaker 5: competitive person I've ever known. She passed away seventeen years
- 29:37Speaker 5: ago yesterday. So much of her lives inside of me,
- 29:42Speaker 5: and I know how proud she would be of me,
- 29:45Speaker 5: but even more so of her grandchildren. My brother Reid,
- 29:54Speaker 5: whether you're catching crawfish and shoal creek, riding our bikes
- 29:57Speaker 5: at the baseball card shop, or putting dents in our
- 29:59Speaker 5: parent It's garage, pitching to each other. You were the
- 30:02Speaker 5: best brother I could ever ask for. And my sister, Audrey,
- 30:06Speaker 5: I'm so proud of your accomplishments and the woman you've become.
- 30:10Speaker 5: I don't take for granted that I got to play
- 30:13Speaker 5: the most coveted position in all the sports. From as
- 30:16Speaker 5: far back as I can remember, I wanted to play quarterback.
- 30:21Speaker 5: I never saw the position as one of pressure, but
- 30:25Speaker 5: rather one of great responsibility. Bill Parcells described it as
- 30:29Speaker 5: the steady hand that steers the ship. Marty Schottenheimer would
- 30:33Speaker 5: say there is no position on the field whose performance
- 30:36Speaker 5: has greater impact on those around him. Bill walshoff and
- 30:39Speaker 5: emphasized the great quarterback play is about making the correct
- 30:43Speaker 5: decisions repeatedly. The quarterback is the distributor of hope and confidence,
- 30:49Speaker 5: a master of probability, the ultimate problem solver. I've always
- 30:54Speaker 5: seen the game of football in the quarterback position as
- 30:57Speaker 5: a true art form, like a song dance. The key
- 31:01Speaker 5: to the r form was controlling the rhythm of the game.
- 31:04Speaker 5: Everything had a rhythm, from the articulation of the play
- 31:07Speaker 5: in the huddle, to the pre snap cues and communication,
- 31:10Speaker 5: to the cadence and the snap of the ball to
- 31:13Speaker 5: your feet dropping back, the timing and flow of your
- 31:15Speaker 5: hitch or your gather, to the point three seconds between
- 31:19Speaker 5: your front foot hit and the ground that set off
- 31:21Speaker 5: a combustion of energy from the ground force all the
- 31:23Speaker 5: way from your toes to your fingertips as it translates
- 31:27Speaker 5: power to the pronation and the spin of the ball
- 31:29Speaker 5: as it releases into the atmosphere. That feeling is what
- 31:34Speaker 5: I live for. I wish I could say it we're
- 31:37Speaker 5: stress free. Quite the contrary, the amount of headspace this
- 31:41Speaker 5: occupied in a given week was all consuming. How can
- 31:45Speaker 5: I visualize every eventuality, every possible scenario. What if the
- 31:48Speaker 5: defense does this, What if it does that? What if
- 31:51Speaker 5: they decide to take this player away? What if they
- 31:53Speaker 5: bring that exotic pressure in that crucial situation? Luke Keighley,
- 31:58Speaker 5: But I love the chess match. It was a complex
- 32:01Speaker 5: puzzle to solve. Each drive represented a section of that puzzle.
- 32:06Speaker 5: If you failed with one, you could log away that
- 32:09Speaker 5: information and come back to it later with a different
- 32:11Speaker 5: perspective or a different confidence and to solve. It was
- 32:15Speaker 5: euphoric because through the process you saw something take place,
- 32:21Speaker 5: You saw a masterpiece come together, with every teammate and
- 32:25Speaker 5: position playing an integral role in the final outcome, and
- 32:31Speaker 5: that feeling began in high school to this day. One
- 32:34Speaker 5: of the proudest accomplishments in my career was winning a
- 32:36Speaker 5: Texas five A state championship for west Lake High School
- 32:39Speaker 5: in Austin, Texas. Youth sports, and especially high school football,
- 32:46Speaker 5: should always be about character and leadership, development, teamwork, and
- 32:51Speaker 5: positive affiliation. May we never forget that. Thank you to
- 33:00Speaker 5: Ron Schrader and all of our coaches at Westlake who
- 33:03Speaker 5: built a program that we all strive to be a
- 33:05Speaker 5: part of, one that prioritized discipline, accountability, and camaraderie. Thank
- 33:11Speaker 5: you to Karmick Kiara, the mentor and motivator for our
- 33:13Speaker 5: entire team as we suffered through summer conditioning at Heartbreak
- 33:17Speaker 5: Hill in East Austin on Pernal Street, end of the
- 33:20Speaker 5: class in nineteen ninety seven, who led with incredible passion
- 33:23Speaker 5: and purpose, becoming the measuring stick for every team that followed.
- 33:27Speaker 5: But one of the most life changing events occurred my
- 33:29Speaker 5: junior year of high school after suffering a major an
- 33:32Speaker 5: injury which put my athletic career in jeopardy. My identity
- 33:36Speaker 5: was challenged. Up until that point, sports had defined me
- 33:40Speaker 5: and I wasn't sure who I was without it. Sitting
- 33:43Speaker 5: in church on my seventeenth birthday, Christ came into my
- 33:48Speaker 5: heart and changed me forever. I felt protected, connected and
- 33:59Speaker 5: directed towards the path that God had for me. He
- 34:03Speaker 5: would equip me for the journey which led me to
- 34:06Speaker 5: places I never could have expected. Thank you to Pastor
- 34:09Speaker 5: Shan Mitchell, Miles McPherson, Rob Wilton, and Troy Martin for
- 34:13Speaker 5: your Christian mentorship in my life. Purdue University, I still
- 34:24Speaker 5: don't know how you got this Texas kid up to
- 34:26Speaker 5: West lofeet Indiana, but it was certainly one of the
- 34:29Speaker 5: best decisions I ever made, Sorry Boom. I chose Perdue
- 34:33Speaker 5: because of its academic reputation and the opportunity to play
- 34:36Speaker 5: in the Big Ten Conference. Little did I know I
- 34:40Speaker 5: would leave four years later with the one of the
- 34:41Speaker 5: most respective degrees in the country, a Big Ten championship,
- 34:45Speaker 5: the love of my life, and an opportunity to live
- 34:47Speaker 5: out my childhood dream being a professional athlete. It is
- 34:54Speaker 5: an absolute honor to join Purdue Grace, Bob Greasy, Lynn Dawson,
- 34:58Speaker 5: Rod Woodson, and legendary coach Hake Shram as boiler Makers
- 35:01Speaker 5: in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Thank you to
- 35:07Speaker 5: Tim Pepplopano, wide receiver coach at Perdue and the one
- 35:10Speaker 5: who claims to have stood on the table to recruit
- 35:11Speaker 5: this six foot hundred and seventy pound kid out of
- 35:13Speaker 5: Central Texas. To coaches Jim Cheney and Greg Olsen, thank
- 35:17Speaker 5: you for pushing me, for preparing me, for testing me,
- 35:20Speaker 5: and always holding me accountable. To our late head coach
- 35:23Speaker 5: Joe Tiller, thank you for creating an environment where we
- 35:25Speaker 5: always had to prove it. You always had that look
- 35:31Speaker 5: in your eye like you knew something we didn't. You
- 35:34Speaker 5: knew how hard to push us, and that was well
- 35:36Speaker 5: past our perceived limits. We trusted your plan, as you said,
- 35:40Speaker 5: a new standard that developed grit, toughness and put a
- 35:44Speaker 5: massive chip on our shoulders. We carried that everywhere we went.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Two of my best friends in the world were part
- 35:50Speaker 5: of that class at Purdue, Ben Smith and Jason Larzea.
- 35:53Speaker 5: Thank you for your friendship, your loyalty, your unwavering support,
- 35:57Speaker 5: and being there for me during some of my toughest moments.
- 36:02Speaker 5: As great as it was to be your teammates and
- 36:04Speaker 5: lifelong friends, what's even better is watching our children grow
- 36:07Speaker 5: up together. So many emotions travel through you during the
- 36:13Speaker 5: NFL draft process. With one pick, your life and circumstances
- 36:17Speaker 5: can change forever. You just hope that you end up
- 36:19Speaker 5: in the right place at the right time, with the
- 36:22Speaker 5: right team, with the right coach in the right system.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Thank you to the Spannos family, general manager John Butler
- 36:29Speaker 5: and coach NORV Turner, who had everything to do with
- 36:32Speaker 5: drafting me to the San Diego Chargers in the second
- 36:35Speaker 5: round of the two thousand and one NFL Draft. This
- 36:41Speaker 5: was exactly where I was supposed to be, and what
- 36:44Speaker 5: made it even sweeter I was joining the guy they
- 36:47Speaker 5: drafted in the first round. Hall of famer, one of
- 36:49Speaker 5: the greatest running backs in history, Ladanian Thomlinson. How many
- 36:57Speaker 5: people know this? LT and I grow two hours from
- 36:59Speaker 5: each other. We played on the South Texas All Star
- 37:01Speaker 5: team together in nineteen ninety seven. We found our way
- 37:04Speaker 5: back together four years later as Heisman Trophy finalists. At
- 37:07Speaker 5: the Heisman presentation, we both made a statement wouldn't it
- 37:10Speaker 5: be something if we ended up on the same team.
- 37:13Speaker 2: LT.
- 37:14Speaker 5: I always felt a strong kinship with you. We had
- 37:17Speaker 5: so much in common. Drafted the same year, married the
- 37:20Speaker 5: same year, won the Walter Payton Man of the Year
- 37:22Speaker 5: the same year. We grew up together quickly in this league.
- 37:27Speaker 5: I credited so many things in my career of the
- 37:29Speaker 5: five years I spent with the Chargers. From the first
- 37:31Speaker 5: moment I walked into the facility, there was no question
- 37:34Speaker 5: who the leaders were, Junior Seau and Rodney Harrison.
- 37:43Speaker 4: We're listening to the Drew Brees speech over the weekend,
- 37:47Speaker 4: can't Ohio, and it was a great speech, unbelievable weekend.
- 37:52Speaker 4: We're going to continue on with it. You know, you
- 37:57Speaker 4: forget the imp we're so sad, ain't driven, but you
- 38:01Speaker 4: forget the impact that the Chargers had on him and
- 38:06Speaker 4: that he won a high school state championship, a Big
- 38:09Speaker 4: Ten championship at Purdue. Who's the worst or second worst
- 38:14Speaker 4: football program in the Big Ten. I guess they're the
- 38:17Speaker 4: worst now because Indiana comes out of nowhere and wins
- 38:19Speaker 4: the national championship last year. Right, I'm not sure what
- 38:24Speaker 4: the new Purdue ad was doing last week when he
- 38:29Speaker 4: referenced Indiana and not winning championships. Maybe no one had
- 38:33Speaker 4: told him that Indiana is they are the national champs
- 38:39Speaker 4: going in to this season. But I thought the breeze
- 38:44Speaker 4: speech was great. Our Hall of Fame coverage is brought
- 38:47Speaker 4: to you by Rix Pro Truck, RPT lift kits, bedliners,

- 39:07Speaker 4: This is brite and your best leaders.
- 39:09Speaker 5: And that standard was clear with June Bug and hot Rod.
- 39:12Speaker 5: Another one of the great influences early in my career
- 39:15Speaker 5: was Doug Flutie. Doug, you were ahead of your time.
- 39:18Speaker 5: I saw you throwing back shoulder throws, no whateck passes
- 39:21Speaker 5: and manipulating arm angles long before it became a revolutionary thing.
- 39:24Speaker 5: I modeled so much of my game after you, and
- 39:27Speaker 5: I'm not sure if there was anyone more competitive. Thank
- 39:30Speaker 5: you for being supportive of me throughout my entire career. Well,
- 39:37Speaker 5: Lorenzo O'Neil, one of the greatest fullbacks ever played the game.
- 39:39Speaker 5: They don't make him like you anymore. Low lo'neil used
- 39:42Speaker 5: to call me Peb as a young player was PBPB.
- 39:45Speaker 5: One day Loneil said, you know why I call you
- 39:47Speaker 5: Peb man? It means pro bowler, because that's who you are.
- 39:50Speaker 5: But you gotta believe it. Low. You just don't know
- 39:53Speaker 5: how much that meant to me at the time. I
- 39:55Speaker 5: love you, Peb. Antonio Gates one of the greatest tight
- 40:01Speaker 5: ends to ever played the game. I just wish we
- 40:03Speaker 5: had more time together. Marty Schoenheim are one of the
- 40:07Speaker 5: greatest coaches and motivators to ever coach this game, and
- 40:10Speaker 5: who belongs here in Canton. Marty was my biggest fan.
- 40:15Speaker 5: He would tell me that all the time, even as
- 40:17Speaker 5: he benched me three times. It made me fight for
- 40:19Speaker 5: my job every year with two greats, Doug Flutie and
- 40:21Speaker 5: Philip Rivers. The first two times I got finished, I
- 40:25Speaker 5: deserved it. The third time I still don't think I
- 40:28Speaker 5: deserved it coach, but nonetheless, it lit more than a fire.
- 40:33Speaker 5: It forced me to access a place in my mind
- 40:36Speaker 5: and my heart that I had not yet been. The
- 40:39Speaker 5: adversity was not expected, but very necessary. I would never
- 40:44Speaker 5: had reached the heights I did without it. I knew
- 40:47Speaker 5: I needed to play better, but more importantly, I knew
- 40:50Speaker 5: that he believed I would play better. Thank you to
- 40:54Speaker 5: coach Cam Cameron and Brian Schottenheimer, offensive coordinator and quarterback
- 40:58Speaker 5: coach for the Chargers. I never forget a film session
- 41:01Speaker 5: in two thousand and three. I was coming off a
- 41:03Speaker 5: tough game and as we watched the tape together, they
- 41:06Speaker 5: asked me the question, Hey, why didn't you throw to
- 41:09Speaker 5: this receiver He was wide open, to which my response
- 41:12Speaker 5: was I couldn't see him. The tape paused, there was
- 41:17Speaker 5: a moment of silence. They glared at me and said,
- 41:20Speaker 5: it's your job to see you reach a point in
- 41:26Speaker 5: your career when you stop making excuses. It's usually a
- 41:32Speaker 5: moment or an event where you flip a switch or
- 41:35Speaker 5: make a very conscious decision and it becomes part of
- 41:38Speaker 5: your being. They were right, and never again would those
- 41:43Speaker 5: words or thoughts come out of my mouth. I would
- 41:47Speaker 5: need to find a way to play the game a
- 41:49Speaker 5: little bit different, even if it was in a way
- 41:52Speaker 5: that had not been done before. It would shape me
- 41:55Speaker 5: for what came next New Orleans. When we bought our
- 42:07Speaker 5: home in the hard uptown New Orleans, Britney and I
- 42:10Speaker 5: could not have been more excited and scared to embark
- 42:12Speaker 5: on this new journey and chapter in our lives. As
- 42:15Speaker 5: we were moving in, containers of housewarming gifts began to
- 42:18Speaker 5: show up at the front door. As I opened the
- 42:20Speaker 5: lid to the first container, expecting to see brownies or
- 42:23Speaker 5: perhaps chocolate chip cookies, it was rather the smell of
- 42:26Speaker 5: butter and onions and Cajun seasoning and a dark crew
- 42:29Speaker 5: that made up crawfish at tufe. The next day it
- 42:35Speaker 5: was jumbalaya. The next day was gumbo. And we're not
- 42:37Speaker 5: talking a small container. We're talking a big vat of
- 42:40Speaker 5: the best home cooked Louisiana flavors you could imagine. Welcome
- 42:43Speaker 5: to New Orleans, but nothing compares to what we experienced
- 42:50Speaker 5: every Monday night during my career in New Orleans for
- 42:52Speaker 5: fifteen years straight. And this is no exaggeration. Our neighbors
- 42:55Speaker 5: Steve and Kathy Price would make our family red beans
- 42:58Speaker 5: and rice and cornbread. Whether it was her house, our house,
- 43:01Speaker 5: or with great friends like Trombone Shorty, it was what
- 43:03Speaker 5: we all looked forward to together
