- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on? Everybody? Welcome into another edition of
- 0:12Speaker 1: to check Odali.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's Andrew to Checko, Eagles beat reporter for insidethebirds dot Com.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Today Wednesday, first day, the Eagles are back on the
- 0:19Speaker 2: practice field coming off their sixteen to nine win of
- 0:22Speaker 2: the Detroit Lions. There's a lot to glean, a lot
- 0:26Speaker 2: of different footnotes today. And Nick Sirianni spoke at twelve
- 0:31Speaker 2: ten and there was practice held at three to ten.
- 0:34Speaker 2: It was outside raining earlier in the day, but the
- 0:37Speaker 2: reigning subsided and completely stopped by that point. It was frigid,
- 0:41Speaker 2: but the Eagles were back out there now. We were
- 0:43Speaker 2: able to be out there for about five or ten
- 0:46Speaker 2: minutes for the media attended portion of practice, and there
- 0:49Speaker 2: was no sign of Eagles center Cam Jurgens, and of
- 0:52Speaker 2: course Lane Johnson as well, who was given a timeline
- 0:57Speaker 2: of four to six weeks at least initially with the
- 1:00Speaker 2: list franc injury and for Cam Jurgens, and we're gonna
- 1:05Speaker 2: get to the Eagles injury report here. Not practicing today,
- 1:08Speaker 2: Lane Johnson with the foot center Cam Jurgens with a concussion,
- 1:11Speaker 2: so that's what he sustained late in the Detroit Lions game,
- 1:15Speaker 2: and Brent Toath came in for the final eleven offensive
- 1:17Speaker 2: snaps limited outside linebacker Jalen Phillips with the shoulder, full
- 1:22Speaker 2: go tackle, Miles Hinton, back guard, center Willie Lampkin with
- 1:26Speaker 2: the knee and ankle. Those were full participants there. And
- 1:31Speaker 2: speaking of Miles Hinton, the Eagles on Wednesday morning activated
- 1:36Speaker 2: his twenty one day practice window, so he's able to
- 1:39Speaker 2: practice now for the first time this season. If you remember,
- 1:42Speaker 2: when the Eagles had their initial cutdown to fifty three,
- 1:45Speaker 2: he was placed on injury reserve and it was with
- 1:47Speaker 2: the back injury obviously as indicated on the injury report,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and he was somebody that It's not really surprising to
- 1:55Speaker 2: me given the lack of depth that they have there
- 1:57Speaker 2: now with Lane Johnson out, that now thrust Fort Johnson
- 2:00Speaker 2: into a starting role at right tackle, and then that
- 2:03Speaker 2: leaves just Matt pryor Brett Toth and Drew Kendall as
- 2:06Speaker 2: the reserve offensive lineman. We'll see what happens with Miles Hinton,
- 2:09Speaker 2: but for the past couple of months he's been working
- 2:11Speaker 2: with a trainer along with Cam Williams off to the side,
- 2:16Speaker 2: and so that's something that you could get the sense
- 2:19Speaker 2: that he was sort of ramping up and rounding back
- 2:21Speaker 2: into shape, shedding that injury.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And now he's back in the fold, and.
- 2:25Speaker 2: We'll see if the Eagles ultimately activate him at some
- 2:27Speaker 2: point here. And Willie Lampkin, by the way, for those wondering,
- 2:30Speaker 2: I believe his practice window expires November twenty seventh, so
- 2:34Speaker 2: the Eagles have until then to decide whether or not
- 2:36Speaker 2: to get him onto the fifty three and activate him
- 2:39Speaker 2: or ultimately shut him down for the season. Also in
- 2:43Speaker 2: other news, Jordan Davis, Eagles defensive tackle who's having a
- 2:47Speaker 2: really good season this year, playing three hundred and ninety
- 2:50Speaker 2: one snaps over ten games, so that's a career high
- 2:55Speaker 2: that accounts for a sixty percent of the Eagles defensive
- 2:58Speaker 2: totally played three hundred and eighty eight snaps season in
- 3:01Speaker 2: all seventeen regular season games. But he was named this
- 3:04Speaker 2: week the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Now, he had three pass.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Deflections against Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions and has
- 3:13Speaker 2: had a really good season.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Three sacks, thirty four tackles.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Hey, it's Jeff Mosher And if you have a family
- 3:19Speaker 3: and kids at home, like me, you always want them
- 3:21Speaker 3: to be fully protected. That's why I'm thrilled to be
- 3:24Speaker 3: a simply Safe customer, and our house is equipped with
- 3:27Speaker 3: the most technologically advanced alarm system you can get. If
- 3:31Speaker 3: you could actually stop someone from breaking into your home
- 3:33Speaker 3: before they got inside, why wouldn't you. Traditional security systems
- 3:37Speaker 3: only react after a break in, but simply Safe is
- 3:40Speaker 3: different because it stops crimes before they happen. With active
- 3:44Speaker 3: guard outdoor protection, They're AI powered cameras detect threats while
- 3:49Speaker 3: they're still outside your home and they alert real security agents.
- 3:53Speaker 3: These agents take action while the intruder is still outside
- 3:56Speaker 3: and confront the intruder to let them know they're being
- 3:59Speaker 3: watched on camera and police is on the way. And
- 4:01Speaker 3: that's how you stop a crime before it's committed. There's
- 4:05Speaker 3: no long term contracts or hidden fees. You can cancel
- 4:08Speaker 3: any time, and it comes with a sixty day money
- 4:10Speaker 3: back guarantee. Try it and see the difference for yourself.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Do not miss out on simply Safe's biggest sale of
- 4:16Speaker 3: the year, sixty percent off. Our listeners get sixty percent
- 4:21Speaker 3: off a simply Safe home security system at simplysafe dot
- 4:25Speaker 3: com slash bird. That's simplysafe dot com slash bird.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And I think that it's important to note that he's
- 4:32Speaker 2: really stepped up and the Eagles were doubling down in
- 4:37Speaker 2: their support and investment for Jordan Davis. Remember they picked
- 4:41Speaker 2: up his option before the year, and they were under
- 4:44Speaker 2: the assumption that he was trending towards a player that
- 4:47Speaker 2: could be more prominently featured on defense, and he's certainly
- 4:50Speaker 2: answering the bell in that capacity. So good to see there,
- 4:55Speaker 2: and for like on that note, Jordan Davis is the
- 5:01Speaker 2: first player in the NFL this season to win the
- 5:03Speaker 2: NFC Defensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player
- 5:06Speaker 2: of the Week.
- 5:06Speaker 1: That goes back to Week three.
- 5:08Speaker 2: With his field goal block and return for a sixty
- 5:11Speaker 2: one yard touchdown against the Rams. But he was also
- 5:14Speaker 2: the first Eagles player in a season to earn both accolades.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So great stuff there from Jordan Davis. He spoke in
- 5:20Speaker 2: the locker room today and he's always such a good quote.
- 5:24Speaker 1: He's always upbeat.
- 5:25Speaker 2: You may have seen the video on social media on
- 5:28Speaker 2: the Eagles social media account where it's clipmaster jd. If
- 5:31Speaker 2: you haven't seen it, you can go back and watch
- 5:34Speaker 2: where he has these close pins and he's pinning teammates
- 5:37Speaker 2: and he also got a couple of media members, myself
- 5:40Speaker 2: being one of them. I'm actually in the video talking
- 5:43Speaker 2: to somebody at their locker in my hood gets clipped
- 5:46Speaker 2: with one of those pins, and then one of my
- 5:48Speaker 2: colleagues noticed that I didn't even notice it, and they
- 5:51Speaker 2: took it off, and I was like, JD, you got me,
- 5:53Speaker 2: and he started laughing. But he's just somebody that brings
- 5:57Speaker 2: a lot of energy positive and talked about things like
- 6:03Speaker 2: how important the locker room is to him, and he said,
- 6:06Speaker 2: these are this is all I got.
- 6:07Speaker 1: The'se got. Everybody in this locker room. These are my brothers.
- 6:10Speaker 2: And he talked about how he brings in cookies for
- 6:12Speaker 2: everybody on Saturday and how much Jeremiah Trotter Junior loves
- 6:16Speaker 2: the Snickerdoodle cookies. And I just thought that he just
- 6:20Speaker 2: brings a lot of levity to the locker room. And
- 6:22Speaker 2: you couple that with his on field performance and he
- 6:25Speaker 2: is such an instrumental piece to the Eagles from a
- 6:29Speaker 2: leadership perspective and a locker room dynamic, but also on
- 6:33Speaker 2: the field as well. And it's great to see because
- 6:36Speaker 2: you can see the tangible signs of progression year after year,
- 6:40Speaker 2: and now he's starting to round into form. And credit
- 6:43Speaker 2: the Eagles for seeing that and staying committed to Jordan
- 6:47Speaker 2: Davis and by and pouring into him. The Eagles defensive
- 6:51Speaker 2: line coach Clint Hurt certainly earns a deserves a lot
- 6:54Speaker 2: of praise for that, and actually Vic Vangio said that
- 6:59Speaker 2: it was Clint Hurt who implemented the past deflection and
- 7:03Speaker 2: having that as a key in the scouting report, knowing
- 7:06Speaker 2: that there were going to be opportunities there for them
- 7:09Speaker 2: to get their hands up and get some deflections based
- 7:11Speaker 2: off of what they saw from Jared Goff at different
- 7:14Speaker 2: points this season. Fred Johnson also spoke at his locker
- 7:18Speaker 2: and now Fred Johnson is going to be the starter
- 7:21Speaker 2: at right tackle for the Eagles for the foreseeable future.
- 7:24Speaker 1: We'll have to wait and see.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Again about the timeline for Lane Johnson if the Eagles
- 7:29Speaker 2: play deep into the season, which we're all expecting.
- 7:31Speaker 1: In the postseason, who knows.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Hey, Philly fans game day is stressful enough, parking traffic,
- 7:37Speaker 3: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 7:40Speaker 3: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 7:45Speaker 3: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 7:49Speaker 3: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast,
- 7:52Speaker 3: no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just care about convenience.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Camden Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their staff
- 8:00Speaker 3: makes sure you feel taken care of every time you
- 8:04Speaker 3: walk in. Plus, they carry only the best quality cannabis
- 8:07Speaker 3: at the fairest prices, so whether you're stocking up for
- 8:11Speaker 3: the tailgate, the watch party, or celebrating a big win,
- 8:15Speaker 3: you know you're getting the good stuff without overpaying. They
- 8:18Speaker 3: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 8:23Speaker 3: service members, and healthcare pros. Cammed In Apothecary top quality cannabis,
- 8:28Speaker 3: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 8:31Speaker 3: one and up.
- 8:33Speaker 1: But Fred Johnson said, you know Lane.
- 8:37Speaker 2: He talked about how Lane Johnson's the best. He's established
- 8:42Speaker 2: himself and he said, now it's time for Fred Johnson
- 8:45Speaker 2: to show who he is. And you can make the
- 8:48Speaker 2: argument that he showed who he was last season when
- 8:51Speaker 2: he was pressed into service, But he said last season
- 8:53Speaker 2: he felt like he was waiting for Lane to come
- 8:56Speaker 2: back and not necessarily viewing himself as a starter.
- 8:59Speaker 1: He said it's there now.
- 9:01Speaker 2: He's not more or less prepared this year, he said,
- 9:03Speaker 2: it's the same as last year. Jeff Stoutlin gets him
- 9:05Speaker 2: ready to go for it, and he seems eager to
- 9:09Speaker 2: run with this opportunity. Remember when he signed with the
- 9:12Speaker 2: Jacksonville Jaguars in the offseason, it was doing large part
- 9:16Speaker 2: because he was seeking a starting opportunity. Now he gets
- 9:20Speaker 2: an extended look here with the Eagles, and I go
- 9:23Speaker 2: back to Hallie Roseman and making a trade that felt
- 9:26Speaker 2: shrewd at the time, and it looks like a genius
- 9:29Speaker 2: move right now to not only fortify the depth, but
- 9:32Speaker 2: now you have a player who has done it before
- 9:35Speaker 2: and there's a comfortability there.
- 9:36Speaker 1: He's worked with Jeff.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Stoutland, Fred Johnson's worked with Jeff Stoutlind for a number
- 9:40Speaker 2: of years and Jeff Stoutn's gotten the most out of him,
- 9:43Speaker 2: So there's a trust there in Fred Johnson. He'll be
- 9:46Speaker 2: playing next to Tyler Steen and for Cam Jurgens, who
- 9:49Speaker 2: has the concussion. You have to wonder if that's going
- 9:52Speaker 2: to me. And Thursdays the biggest practice of the week,
- 9:56Speaker 2: so we'll get a better sense of his availability for Sunday,
- 9:58Speaker 2: but it wouldn't shock me if Brett Toath gets his
- 10:01Speaker 2: third start at center this season while Cam Jurgens works
- 10:04Speaker 2: his way back from the concussion. So you could have
- 10:07Speaker 2: two reserve linemens starting in a game in which the
- 10:10Speaker 2: Cowboys defense they're not exceptional in any way, don't mistake
- 10:16Speaker 2: me for that. But they do have five new pieces
- 10:19Speaker 2: back on their defense, so they look a little bit
- 10:21Speaker 2: different than they looked the first time the Leagules meant.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Them back in Week one. They have Demarion Overshown back.
- 10:27Speaker 2: He's a good player, a good pass rusher, savone Ravel
- 10:32Speaker 2: the rookie corner, he has good length, and he's been
- 10:35Speaker 2: injured this season.
- 10:36Speaker 1: He's back in the mix.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Malee Hooker their safety now pairing with Donovan Wilson back there.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And they of course added Quinn Williams at the defensive
- 10:46Speaker 2: tackle position and Logan Wilson the linebacker at the trade deadline.
- 10:51Speaker 2: So you look at Quinn Williams and he has a
- 10:54Speaker 2: sack and a half the sack and a half, excuse me,
- 10:57Speaker 2: and he's going to be seeing a lot of either
- 11:01Speaker 2: or Cam Jurgens, who has battled. You know, he's coming
- 11:04Speaker 2: back from the back injury, back surgery in February, has
- 11:09Speaker 2: the knee injury that sidelined him for a few weeks there,
- 11:12Speaker 2: and now the concussion. So we'll see if he's even
- 11:15Speaker 2: able to go. But either way, you could have a
- 11:19Speaker 2: hindered Cam Jurgens or a reserve lineman in Brett too
- 11:23Speaker 2: taking on that assignment, coupled with Fred Johnson at right
- 11:26Speaker 2: tackle in that raucous environment. And I know the Cowboys
- 11:30Speaker 2: are going to be playing inspired football based out of
- 11:33Speaker 2: the tragic news over a couple of weeks ago.
- 11:35Speaker 1: They seem to be really rowing as a team.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Hey, I still like a good night out, but I'm
- 11:41Speaker 3: not always in the mood to drink, and that's why

- 13:08Speaker 1: And I'm expecting them to play.
- 13:11Speaker 2: A lot, a lot differently, a lot more physical, and
- 13:14Speaker 2: a lot more I guess aggressive compared to when you
- 13:19Speaker 2: saw them last, because there's new pieces there, and it
- 13:22Speaker 2: seems like while they always have a handful of wins,
- 13:25Speaker 2: this season, there's a belief there that they can continue
- 13:27Speaker 2: to try and head things in the right direction. They
- 13:30Speaker 2: won big on a Monday night and you can look
- 13:34Speaker 2: at it and say that was just the Raiders, but
- 13:36Speaker 2: who knows, maybe they're able to use that as a springboard.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The Eagles historically haven't played particularly well at a AT
- 13:42Speaker 2: and T stadium, So yeah, I mean, the Eagles should
- 13:46Speaker 2: be able to move the football against the Cowboys. They
- 13:48Speaker 2: have enough weapons, these certain circumstances are going to be
- 13:51Speaker 2: ideal playing indoors, and I just think that this is
- 13:56Speaker 2: a good get right spot for the Eagles. But the
- 13:58Speaker 2: Cowboys shouldn't be taken lightly. Can certainly score points. I
- 14:01Speaker 2: think they're going to score more than what the Lions
- 14:03Speaker 2: and the Packers did.
- 14:04Speaker 1: And that's certainly not an indictment on the defense.
- 14:06Speaker 2: It's just a byproduct of the environment that they're playing in.
- 14:11Speaker 2: They're playing indoors, and Dak Prescott's playing at a high
- 14:14Speaker 2: level this year, and you have two reserve offensive linemen
- 14:19Speaker 2: that I think could you know, could impact how the
- 14:22Speaker 2: defense from Dallas is able to you know, whether it's
- 14:25Speaker 2: collapse the pocket or get after Dak or get after
- 14:29Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts rather. And then you look at from an
- 14:33Speaker 2: offensive standpoint, George Pickens from the Cowboys is playing at
- 14:37Speaker 2: a very high level physical receiver. I imagine that Dak
- 14:40Speaker 2: Prescott's going to target the number two corner and try
- 14:44Speaker 2: to find ways to attack them vertically and in contested
- 14:48Speaker 2: cats situations.
- 14:49Speaker 1: George Pickens thrives in that area.
- 14:51Speaker 2: And yeah, I mean, I just think this is going
- 14:54Speaker 2: to be a better game than what I envisioned, and
- 14:56Speaker 2: certainly better game than what we saw week one. So
- 15:00Speaker 2: to unpack a lot to glean this week, and this
- 15:02Speaker 2: is just things are just getting started. The Eagles are
- 15:04Speaker 2: back on the practice field tomorrow at about two point
- 15:07Speaker 2: fifteen I believe, and then there's locker room availability and
- 15:10Speaker 2: we'll get a clear picture as to the status of
- 15:12Speaker 2: Cam Jurgens and where that may go from there.
- 15:15Speaker 1: But for now, that's going to do it for this
- 15:17Speaker 1: edition of the Czecho Daily.
- 15:18Speaker 2: I am Andrew de Checko, and I will catch you
- 15:20Speaker 2: on the next one.
