- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: you are a man of God in a world against masculinity, willing to stand in the gap.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: An example of its good, you feel the pressures to conform, but you're part of a growing few, rejecting your inner-passivity.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: So you can love others well.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Stand for truth and lead on apologetically.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: The grain is not your path.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: You press forward as a resolute man.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to the Resilot Man Show.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about how to teach the Bible to your family.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so happier on this journey with me.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be going through Proverbs and teaching you how to teach your family, the Book of Proverbs, step by step on the way.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: You're busy.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: You got to like going on this so much for a man to be doing.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: The most important thing you've been doing is teaching the Bible to his children, but where does the time go?
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: My hope is this is a resource that helps you to be able to do it more often with your family because some of the prep work is already done.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: And as you work this muscle, you're going to do it even better than maybe some of the suggestions I give you.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: My hope is that this is a launching pad for you.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: to forever do a super well with your family, but I hope you keep listening in because it always get you motivated.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm always going to review some things that end of every show.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give you a resolute man tip as well that's super valuable for being a father, being a husband, being a biblical man and unprecedented times.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, you were needed more than ever.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about that in the last episode.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Bible is the sword of the Spirit and you want to become good at wielding it well, right?
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we have to overcome some mental challenges of teaching the Bible to our families.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: I know I have overtime had to overcome some mental challenges.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even realize we're there until after the fact after I overcame them.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: And there are challenges, like if you have, for example, a strong life.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's a beautiful thing, that is a wonderful thing.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe she's strong in the Bible, maybe she's strong in her prayer life, maybe she's so good at doing all the things with the children and so forth, maybe she's homeschooling your children, and maybe she's not, but she's a strong life.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: That can be actually a silent intimidation, because you know that you're supposed to lead your family spiritually.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: when you're not as strong as your wife in an area of spiritual discipline.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing, regardless of where your wife sat and regardless of where you're at, what do we know is true?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: We know that God has called us to lead our families and that kind of leadership that models Jesus' leadership, a servant leadership and equipping an encouragement.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: so you're not in competition with your wife, you don't need to know everything as well as she does, you should praise the Lord that she's strong.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wonderful thing, but you come in and you grow and you do
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: and you're on your journey.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: And the more you implement with your family, the more she is gonna be pleased and excited and the more your family is, your marriage actually would be helped tremendously by doing this.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: And so you may or may not get encouragement from your wife right away.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: She might be feel at first, it could be that you're infringing upon, you know, some of the jurisdictions that she's been used to doing with the children during the day or something like that.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: She might have to figure out how to,
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Do the things she was already doing around, you know what you're doing, but you guys should talk about that.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: You should talk about what encourages you to lead your family biblically with to teach the Bible to make it a discipline Because here's the lie.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that you don't have enough time.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever we have a deep enough desire to do, whatever is most important to us.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: We find the time.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: to do it.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: If it's working out and it's important to you, you find the time.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: If it's reading the Bible, you'll find the time.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: If it's getting the updates on your favorite sport team, you'll find the time to do that.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to find the time to do this.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: We need to make an priority.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: So here's prep.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: Just real quick on prep.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: You could have zero prep.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: You could listen just to the episode on the scripture, teach it to your family when you get home.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: You're good to go.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: but if you do have a few minutes to prep, it's always better, right?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's always better.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Never don't implement though because you don't have enough prep time.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: I can't tell you how many times they're just open the Bible, read it, and discuss it with my family.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: You want to make it that simple.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want anything to get in your way.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: If preparation is required for you to implement, you're hardly ever going to implement.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: But if you can prep for a few minutes, if you do have a little bit of time, it makes it even better.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's cool.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's like a bonus.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: So here's our CT is we're going to give you.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: The acronym our CT, which is to read the scripture before you read it to your family.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: just read through it and then see is for clarity.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: You want to get clarity.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: What is this actually saying?
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: If you have a good commentary Bible, you can look below, read that, you can look some things up about the scripture, you can literally paste the scripture into whatever tools you use to understand things and you can get a little bit of detail on that very quickly.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: But I always like to try and figure it out myself.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's you want to work that muscle like what is this saying and trying to actually think about it and that's the final thing is to think so read Clarity think RCT remember that read it real quick get clarity.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: What is this actually saying and then think how does this relate to my family the people in my family How does this relate to what's happening in the world what's something interesting that comes in mind that I could speak about
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: after I read this text to my family.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: And at first, you might think, trying to think, you don't think of anything.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay, still an implement.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: At least you're reading it to your family.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the most powerful thing that exists.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, they're getting the bread of life on a daily basis and they're getting it from the father.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's so beautiful and so essential and so important.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: You got to buck the system.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: You got to reject pastivity.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: You just got to do it, okay?
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: So now, I'm gonna go into
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: how to teach the Bible to your family.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then tomorrow we're going to go through the first part of Proverbs.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: So the first thing you want to do is promote.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: I briefly talked about this last time.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's the acronym PRAY and P is for promote.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: You could say one lead in is yesterday we and just remember and just recap a little bit about yesterday's section of scripture you talked about.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: So yesterday we did this, and then you can, I like to do things like a hold up the Bible.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: I go, this is an inherent word of God.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is, this is God-breathed.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: This is so exciting, you guys.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, man wrote up, but they were inspired by the Lord.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's perfect and foulable, and we get access to it any time we want.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't that amazing?
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: This is the ultimate wisdom in the world.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: So anything positive you can say about the Bible in the beginning, gets their kids attention, gets them into it, and creates some interest in learning.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: Or you could promote something specific about the author of the book of the Bible that you're in.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: So you could talk about King Solomon, wrote most of Proverbs they think.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: So you could say something really interesting about King Solomon, and I'm going to give you a lot of that stuff, too.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: So there's no other wisdom as powerful and as useful as what's right here.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Are you guys ready?
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you could even, part of promotion is you could even go, hey, we're about to read from the Word of God, and he has a word for us today, and this is so important.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let's give God our attention right now because that is exactly what's happening.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're giving you attention, but really, what are they giving attention?
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: Attention to God's words that you're reading.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I find it's powerful when you talk like that.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: So promote, the first thing is to promote.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to do all those things I said.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: I give you like 10 examples right now.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: right there.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: You just do one.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: Simple as this.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Hey kids, we're going to read from the Bible.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Are you ready?
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it can be that simple.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: But you got to get their attention anytime you're teaching.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: You got to get people's attention.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I just showed you, I just got your attention, right?
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Snapping your fingers differently.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: You can do being animated.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be boring.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Bring your energy to bear.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter how tired you are, okay?
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: So quickly promote and then you read the scripture.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Just read through it.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Try not to read it in a
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you're a boring reader, don't worry about it.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna get more lively as you go.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna get good at it.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: How used to be a boring reader?
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say I'm super energetic as a reader.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: I say my wife is an incredible reader of anything, right?
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: She can get the kids way into it and all these things, but it doesn't matter what she can do.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's awesome.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: I love that she can do that.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean I can't do the way I do it.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't compare.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: just do.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's it, and you're gonna get better and better, the more you do it.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: So read the words to your family.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Now hey, if you don't know anything about, and nothing comes to mind about the words, that's okay.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Ideally, over time though, you're actually going to teach something about it.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know, something little or teach how it relates to something they're going to face in the future.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's about equipping them for uncertain times.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: is teaching the Bible and teaching them how that equips them for the foolishness that exists in the world, the way we're in this that exists in the world, and it's such beautiful and sound and amazing truth to give to your children is the only truth, the Bible.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's only truth that really matters.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, give them that confidence, constantly.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, now you're going to, if you can, you know, read,
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: and teach a little bit.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Teach the words.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: You can do a quick look up too.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: If it had a time if you want, if there's words you don't understand, you can easily look those up on any tools that are available.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: And give a life application.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Ideally, if you can't, like here's what that means.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: If you're in a situation, you're talking to somebody and they start gossiping about somebody else.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to join.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: in that, because if you join in that, now you're sinning, and it ruins the hears.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever you say is going to ruin the image of somebody else to that person.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to participate in that, because it destroys relationships.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: I was just top of my head.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: But it's super important.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: Give some life application, why?
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: Don't children want to know why?
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: give them the why and how that's practical to their life and give us society application as well as if you can that's like 2.0 you don't have to do that but the more you can talk about the ways of the world in contrast to biblical truth and how biblical truth is the right way and this is the wrong way the better that is literally equipment is the most important thing you could do to equip your children okay so we promoted
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: and we read the scripture.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: So this is the pre-acronum.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: And the third one is the A, which is ask, ask a question, get involvement, get your children, and your wife used to dialoguing about the Bible together.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't that the best thing you could ever want your family to be discussing is theology, biblical truth, doctrine.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: That is the best.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: You're exercising a muscle together of talking about the words in the Bible.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great thing.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: So questions on the words in a verse is a great thing.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, do you know what this word means?
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Any word that looks a little hard.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: My five-year-old sometimes doesn't understand some of the words, and a lot of them might not.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: And then someone at the table will answer, well, I think it means this, or I think it means that.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then you go, yeah, I mean that, oh, actually, it means this.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: You're just educating them on the words.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: They're learning vocabulary as you teach them the word, as you teach proper, but it's beautiful.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: So you ask a question.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: about the words or what does that mean to you?
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think that means?
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I guess those two things are, what do you think this means?
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: And then how does it apply to your life?
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's the better way to say that, right?
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: And why is that important?
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that important today?
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that important in the world we're living in?
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Getting them to talk about how it's relevant to the times we're living in and so forth.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: One or two questions is it?
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Simply ask question, it creates dialogue and discussion.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: in the greatest parenting book is yarn, yarn to wield the sword of the spirit, well, the truth, well, to know it and teach it.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: And by doing this daily, you're absolutely doing that, get scripture memorized, have it beyond your heart.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: and help your children, your family, and encourage them to memorize scripture as well.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Be biblicalist as a family.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: Study the word of God.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: Make that cool.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Make that the coolest thing that exists to your children, because they see dad doing it in front of them.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's so important to be the guy with biblical answers.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: It may take a while until you have biblical answers, but you want your children growing up, asking you questions about what the Bible means, and if you don't know it's okay,
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: you look it up together.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, look, I can't tell you how many times.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure on that one.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look that up together and or have an idea or I do know it.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's either way, it's important.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, by the way, you might have heard, but Prevenix is the company that is enabling this show to happen.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I would never take on a sponsor certainly a sponsor that has nutrition products, vitamins, and so forth.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: Unless I knew for a fact from personal experience they worked.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: Or a month I took him before I ever talked about him here.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: And they are the first vitamins I've ever felt a difference in my health positively from.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I've taken lots of vitamins, my wife is highly trained.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: in this stuff and understanding what to give our family.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: But you know what, when it comes to the line-by-line ingredients, what you take, what you're going to be shocked by is most even things that you might think are amazing have synthetic ingredients.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what is the quality of the B6 in your multivitamin, for example?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: What is the quality of your vitamin D or your vitamin A?
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then do you have the right levels that are clinically optimized to be effective for your body?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: And what you'll find is there's a mix of some good ingredients mixed with synthetic ingredients and most even really so-called quality and vitamin companies.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: They don't always have the optimal levels either, so it might not even be making.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: It might be such a low level of that.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: that's making not much of a difference, and that's why most people don't actually feel any effects from the vitamins they actually take.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: They just believe it's important they take them and they're doing something good.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: It actually is important that you actually take what is good.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: I have had way less brain fog, way more clarity, focus, more optimistic and positive since they're taking their multivitamin, their green drink, and their
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: brain health vitamins and that's just three of the many things I've been taking but those three have really been powerful So go to prevenx.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: So go to prevenx.com and use code rm15 to get 15% off.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's PREV i n e x
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's for preventative health, which is vital that we all do.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: And you'll be surprised after a month of taking it of these vitamins, you will experience a difference that can't wait to hear from you on how it's impacting.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: You go to prevenx.com, rm15 for a discount.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, here's your Result Man tip of the week.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is from episode two, called the Arch of Clear Thinking.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Perhaps one of my favorite Result Man episodes ever done.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I teach the secrets that I use to really get to my very best thinking when it comes to big decisions, big problems after overcoming business or in life, and this is really essential.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just going to give you a little bit, but go back to episode two, most people don't actually think well.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: They don't.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: They just think a lot.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: And they think a lot about ineffective things.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, we're so much indescribling in consuming information.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: That thinking, I think, I believe, is at all time low, especially with AI answering every given thing.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think AI can be useful for certain things, but don't let it think for you.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to get to your best thinking, the AI doesn't have the Holy Spirit.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: You do.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be getting to your best thinking on your own with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that's super important.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Constant mental activity isn't the same as quality thinking.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: And there's something called condition thinking.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: which is really normal thinking, making us easily influenced because we are often conditioned, don't even realize it, to think in certain patterns.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: And it takes breaking those patterns to get to the best results in your life, relationships, and the things you want to accomplish.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: So it's really important.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: Best solutions are after counter-intuitive because God is counter-intuitive to the way humans think.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: and he has wisdom for you via his Holy Spirit and his work.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: So there's three kinds of thinking, reproductive thinking, productive thinking, and spirit-led, productive thinking, right?
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: So you're gonna have to go get the episode to get all of those, but what you really want is spirit-led, productive thinking, it's vital, it's super important.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: And here's a couple of things I do to get to that thinking, is I get alone, I schedule time, I used to be on Fridays back in the day,
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I'd spend one to two hours, Fridays, first thing, with no technology, no distractions.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be in a coffee shop all alone, where I'm likely not to get interrupted.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: I might journal open, and I do an exercise, and I pray, and I include God in this.
