- 0:58Welcome to Bible Women in Bathrobes.
- 1:01I'm your host Tiffany Fletcher and I'm so excited that you're here with us today.
- 1:05We have our founder, the beautiful Tamara Anderson.
- 1:08How are you Tamara?
- 1:10Doing well.
- 1:10Thanks for having me today.
- 1:13And one of our board members, Sandy Falter.
- 1:15How are you Sandy?
- 1:17So good.
- 1:17So glad to be here.
- 1:19Welcome to both of you.
- 1:20We're excited to talk more about prayer.
- 1:22Prayer.
- 1:23If you tuned in last week, we talked about the importance of praying, of prayer.
- 1:28We talked about in Ephesians how in the Armor of Light series that we're doing, we've talked about all the different armors of light, all the different parts of armor that we wear.
- 1:39And then we talked about the importance of a colon at the end of that sentence in chap.
- 1:44In verse 17 where it says and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.
- 1:51And then colon, which in English grammar colon means that there's more to that sentence and what follows directly relates to it.
- 2:00And it says praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
- 2:12So what he's saying there is not only should we be using prayer for ourselves to help strengthen ourselves, but we need to be praying and watching over those around us and that we should be praying for all saints.
- 2:25And then I think that this is such a beautiful thing that he asks, because again, there's a semicolon which also means that there's more to follow.
- 2:33And he says, and for me.
- 2:36So he's talking about prayer and supplication for all saints.
- 2:39And then he asks a personal plea and for me that utterance may be given unto me that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, but that ye also may know my sorry
- 2:56for that therein I may speak boldly as I ought to speak, he says, for which I am an ambassador in bonds.
- 3:02At this time he was imprisoned.
- 3:04An ambassador in bonds, that therein I may speak boldly as I ought to.
- 3:09So he's saying, pray.
- 3:11Pray for others, and please pray for me so that I may boldly still preach the gospel from my prison, that I may be able to help the people come back to Jesus, that I may be able to help
- 3:25serve while I'm still in this in bonds.
- 3:28And for me, I think that's such a personal and private beautiful request that he's asked for them.
- 3:34And it just shows the power of prayer and the power that.
- 3:38That he had right in prayer.
- 3:40He knew that prayer would help him get through these things, but especially he knew that the prayers of his friends would help him get through these things.
- 3:50And I think that is beautiful.
- 3:53So why is it, Tamara, how is it that we can use prayer to help our friends in need?
- 4:00And how does it relate to the armor of light?
- 4:03Oh, my.
- 4:05Well, I know what's interesting here is we're taking these pieces of armor and we're putting them on ourselves.
- 4:14And it's almost like that whole concept of when you're in an airplane, they say, put your oxygen mask on first, and then you can help others.
- 4:24So it's that same idea that once you've got it figured out, you can help others, but you don't have to have it all figured out before you pray for others.
- 4:34Do you know what I mean?
- 4:35So once you're starting to clue in that, hey, prayer works, putting the armor of light on works, it helps bless and protect me, then I can pray for others.
- 4:46And I know especially for my.
- 4:49My children, for my loved ones, this is something that I pray for.
- 4:55I pray that they will be blessed and protected from the.
- 4:59The influence of the adversary in their everyday lives.
- 5:04And.
- 5:05And I know that God hears that prayer, and I hope that they're praying for it, too, because I'm like, I taught you guys to pray, right?
- 5:13Especially my kids.
- 5:14But.
- 5:16But I know that God hears that prayer.
- 5:19You know, the prayer of a mother, the prayer of a friend, someone you really love.
- 5:24And I love those words that you read, too, with all perseverance.
- 5:29So it is.
- 5:31It's a constant thing.
- 5:32And.
- 5:32And sometimes I feel like, oh, my gosh, I say almost the same prayer every day, you know, but it's pretty important.
- 5:45That is beautiful.
- 5:46And it.
- 5:46And it is True that perseverance is.
- 5:49Sometimes we, we may think, okay, I've already prayed for this a bajillion times.
- 5:54I probably shouldn't pray again.
- 5:57But we're told to weary the Lord in prayer, right?
- 6:00Like the story of the unjust judge, I believe it was where the woman just kept saying, come on, come on, come on, just give me what I need.
- 6:08And finally he was like, okay.
- 6:10And that is what the Lord is asking us to keep him in our thoughts, to weary him, to make sure that we are persevering in our prayers towards Him.
- 6:21I love that.
- 6:22Thank you.
- 6:22Sandy, your thoughts?
- 6:24Yeah.
- 6:24As I've thought about this, what really has come to mind is that this just fills us with love, right?
- 6:32The two great commandments are that we are to love God and we're to love others.
- 6:37And sometimes we might be self focused, right?
- 6:41And just praying, please help me with this and help me with this.
- 6:42And you know, we might have a laundry list, but when we think outside of ourselves, we're fulfilling those two great commandments.
- 6:48Commandments to love God and connect with him and trust him with our problems and love our neighbor.
- 6:56And when we do that, our heart expands.
- 6:59I don't know if you've ever, I'm sure you have.
- 7:01Everyone's probably experienced time where someone comes back to you after you said, I, you know, can I pray for you?
- 7:08Or I'm praying for you.
- 7:09They're going through a hard time and they come back and say, I felt so upheld during this hard time.
- 7:14I don't know how I got through it.
- 7:16I have a friend, a couple friends going through a really traumatic, awful experience right now.
- 7:22And everyone is praying for them.
- 7:25And their posts are so beautiful in saying somehow we're getting through this.
- 7:31Christ is walking with us.
- 7:32We feel your prayers.
- 7:35And so I think it connects us with each other when we pray.
- 7:40I think it connects us with God when we think about others more than self.
- 7:45And I think it's just a beautiful way to fulfill those great commandments and increase in those characteristics that we want to, to become more like our savior, Jesus Christ.
- 7:56That is beautiful.
- 7:58I love that.
- 7:59And I love that scripture.
- 8:01Love, love, loving God.
- 8:02You know, the two great commandments, love God and love your neighbor.
- 8:05I love in there where he talks about we need to love, love our neighbor as ourself.
- 8:10And I think about that.
- 8:11I pray for myself, right?
- 8:13I pray that I will be protected.
- 8:15I pray that Satan will be cast me.
- 8:18I pray that, that God will grant me healing blessings, all kinds of things.
- 8:24Why wouldn't I pray for other people too, because that is loving my neighbor as myself, right?
- 8:29It's praying for them in the way that I pray for myself and for my family and I love.
- 8:35There's a scripture that's in James 5:16, and it says, confess your faults one to another.
- 8:42I'm going to bring it this way so I can see it better.
- 8:44Confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that ye may be healed.
- 8:50The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
- 8:55I love this scripture because it's teaching us to pray for one another.
- 9:01Because he says, pray for another that ye may be healed.
- 9:04And I believe the ye in this means not just you, but everyone that you're praying for, right?
- 9:09That ye, ye all, all of you may be healed.
- 9:13And that is the power of prayer.
- 9:15And praying for other people is that it gives us also blessings.
- 9:22We receive blessings, we receive healing, we receive wholeness when we pray for other people.
- 9:29And I think that is such a beautiful.
- 9:32I mean, that's not why we pray.
- 9:34We pray because we love people and because we know that God can bless them.
- 9:37And we love the Lord.
- 9:39, And we want to invite him in to their lives.
- 9:42Right.
- 9:43Sometimes as we talked in the, when we were praying about ourselves in, in last week's podcast, that, that Jesus has to be invited in.
- 9:54He doesn't force his way in.
- 9:55He needs to be invited.
- 9:57And even sometimes our, our friends aren't praying for themselves.
- 10:01I mean, I really truly believe that's even why he says pray for your enemies because they're clearly not praying for themselves.
- 10:07They have so much anger in their heart.
- 10:08Right?
- 10:09So pray for your.
- 10:11And we do this because we are inviting the Lord into their life.
- 10:15It's a way for us to bring them to him in a way that is non evasive.
- 10:23Does that make sense?
- 10:23Sandy, you had some thoughts?
- 10:25Yeah, I do.
- 10:26I think, you know, when I think about praying for our enemies, a lot of times we think our enemies are these evil people, right?
- 10:33And the reality is, is they're God's children too.
- 10:36And when we pray for our enemies, it softens our heart towards them, right?
- 10:42It reminds us that they're also God's child.
- 10:46And maybe it gives us a little sense of maybe I have some accountability in this situation as well.
- 10:52And I think it helps us to forgive when we pray for our enemies.
- 10:56And, and I love, I love that concept of praying for enemies.
- 11:00It's interesting my, in my coaching world, I was meeting with my coach and talking about, you know, praying and praying for enemies.
- 11:09And.
- 11:10And we were talking about something, and she said, well, is that person really your enemy?
- 11:13And I said, no, actually, no, they're not.
- 11:16Right.
- 11:16Like, sometimes it's just a stressful situation or there's some conflict, but they're not even our enemies.
- 11:22But when we pray for others, it does connect us, it does soften our hearts.
- 11:27And when we're sincere and truly want them to be blessed, that's a beautiful change of heart that we're experiencing.
- 11:35And so I love that command.
- 11:37It's kind of like forgiving 70 times 7.
- 11:39I think we can't wear out praying for others just like we can't wear out forgiving others.
- 11:45I love that.
- 11:47Tamara.
- 11:49A couple of thoughts I've had.
- 11:52One of the things that's.
- 11:53That I love here, it says, pray for one another.
- 11:57And when I.
- 11:58I remember several years ago, we were at church, and one of the.
- 12:04Sometimes we go to church and we look at the people around us, and we're like, oh, my gosh, their lives are perfect.
- 12:10Mine is so not.
- 12:12I don't even know.
- 12:13Do you like, like, God, how is this even fair?
- 12:16Right?
- 12:17But I love when people open up and are raw and talk about their challenges.
- 12:24I remember we were sitting in a lesson with the women in our congregation, and one of the ladies opened up and she said, you guys, my daughter.
- 12:38And she told us who.
- 12:39She says, my daughter is really struggling right now with anorexia and bulimia, and none of us.
- 12:45Well, I didn't know.
- 12:46Do you know what I mean?
- 12:48And she said, would you please pray for her and for my family?
- 12:52This is something we really need help with right now.
- 12:57And you know what?
- 12:57The whole tone of whatever we were talking about shifted at that moment when somebody was willing to open up and say, can you help us and pray with me for this?
- 13:09So sometimes I think.
- 13:11I think there's two sides to that.
- 13:13First, we need to be open as members of God's family.
- 13:20You know, he talks about us being members of the body of Christ, right?
- 13:24The hand, the feet, the eyes.
- 13:26You know, that when one part is struggling, we need to pray for that.
- 13:31And.
- 13:32And I think as women, we especially have challenges being judgmental.
- 13:36Oh, look at that lady.
- 13:38Oh, if she would have taught her daughter better, you know, maybe they wouldn't have this problem.
- 13:44We can't judge.
- 13:46We have our own challenges.
- 13:47But the fact that our hearts were softened and we were open and willing to pray for this family in their time of need, and then other people are more willing to say, well, hey, me too.
- 13:59We've got some struggles in my family.
- 14:02Can you pray for us, too?
- 14:04You know, and so it's important when.
- 14:07When we are struggling, and maybe you don't want to open up to your whole church congregation, but open up to your family.
- 14:13There's times in.
- 14:14In my own family when one of my siblings will text out and say, I have a kid who's really struggling right now.
- 14:21Will you please fast and pray for them?
- 14:25And they don't even say everything often that they're struggling with, but just sometimes we're praying to God, saying, God, please help my child or help my friend.
- 14:37But sometimes we don't know to pray for somebody if they're not willing to say, hey, I'm struggling.
- 14:43So I think sometimes you have to open up and be raw and open and.
- 14:49And ask for help with that.
- 14:54I think sometimes our pride gets in the way, doesn't it?
- 14:56Like, our pride just gets in the way and we're like, I don't know.
- 14:59I don't want to share this because it's very private and personal, and so we keep it.
- 15:03And.
- 15:04And really we're doing ourself a disservice because there's so much faith that could be added to our own as we work through that hardship.
- 15:13I think that that's why we pray for others, because it really is an act of faith, right?
- 15:18It is the power of belief, and it's the power of belief in the people that are praying for you that can bring miracles to your life.
- 15:26And I think that as we strive to pray for others, I think it's important that we ask people, what.
- 15:33How can I be in prayer for you?
- 15:35I have a.
- 15:36Have a client that I work with, and that's how she ends every.
- 15:39We have weekly.
- 15:40Weekly meetings.
- 15:41And every time she said, how can I be in prayer for you?
- 15:43Like, just a simple thing in a business meeting.
- 15:46Just to know that she is praying for me, though.
- 15:49It's a strength to me and it builds my faith and helps me recognize that there is power in the people praying for us.
- 15:58And, Sandy, I loved how you talked about our enemies.
- 16:01They aren't really our enemies.
- 16:03I think sometimes in our minds, we see people as enemies and they have no idea, right?
- 16:08They have no idea that we have been offended or that we feel negative towards them.
- 16:14And that is the beauty of prayer and praying for others is because when we put ourselves in a place where we are in the spirit and we can hear the thoughts of our Savior come into our mind, we
- 16:29can recognize that no One is truly our enemy, and that we should really be praying for everyone.
- 16:35And it helps change our perspective to one of seeing things through his eyes and feeling with his heart and loving the way he loves in.
- 16:46In a different way.
- 16:47Right.
- 16:48I mean, growing up with my mom and her multiple personalities, she had a really violent altar that was incredibly abusive, and especially to me.
- 16:58I took the brunt of it so that my siblings didn't have to.
- 17:00And.
- 17:01And in that, it was.
- 17:03I saw her as an enemy for many years because she was the one that was hurting me.
- 17:07And what I realized is that she was not my enemy.
- 17:11I was fighting.
- 17:12My.
- 17:13My husband has a great.
- 17:14He's like, Tiffany, we don't fight people.
- 17:15We fight the devil that's inside of them.
- 17:17Right?
- 17:18Those.
- 17:18Those.
- 17:19Those things that are bothering them and.
- 17:22And the adversary who is trying to pull them down.
- 17:25That's what we're fighting.
- 17:26They are.
- 17:27They are our friends, and they are God's children.
- 17:29And we.
- 17:30We can do so much good for others when we pray that Satan will be cast away from them and that he will be bound from them and that they will be surrounded by angels and that they will be
- 17:42supported so that they can receive the love that's ready for them to receive.
- 17:48Right?
- 17:49They're just.
- 17:50We can pray for them to be softened and clear out all of the negativity around them through our prayers to help them receive what it is that they need to receive.
- 18:01There are so many times that I prayed for my mom, and I saw a difference.
- 18:05There is a true difference in the people that you pray for, and it's not just your perspective.
- 18:10There is real power that comes from praying for.
- 18:13Praying for people in their time of need.
- 18:15Sandy, do you have some thoughts?
- 18:17Yeah, I.
- 18:18When you were talking about enemies, and I was thinking how, you know, we live in a divisive world right now, and there's so much division, and I didn't know President Biden personally, and I don't know President Trump personally.
- 18:33Right.
- 18:33But I can pray for them even if I don't agree with them.
- 18:37They are the leaders of our country.
- 18:39And what can God do when we pray?
- 18:42And what can God do to my heart and my fear when I pray?
- 18:47And so I love that the scriptures tell us that we need to pray.
- 18:50We need to.
- 18:51In.
- 18:51In second, in First Timothy, chapter two, he tells us we need to pray for kings and for all the authority, right?
- 19:00We need to pray that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
- 19:08And so he gives us some vocabulary there to pray for.
- 19:11And he gives us that thought that we're part of a much bigger world than our little community and that we can pray.
- 19:20I remember back as a child when Ethiopia was there was the drought, and I remember our congregation fasted and prayed, and I just remember all just as a world.
- 19:34I felt like we came together and we prayed and I, I was young.
- 19:40And that is a core memory for me that the whole world was praying for these people.
- 19:45And I.
- 19:46And so I think that we can come together in.
- 19:49Even in this stressful time of changing, of power.
- 19:55And we can pray regardless of where we sit on, on the aisle.
- 20:01We can pray for God's tender hand to lead and guide and to quench any fear.
- 20:09Quilch.
- 20:09Any fear that we may have.
- 20:11Yeah, I love that.
- 20:12And I think along with that line, we can pray to trust that whatever happens, that we're going to be okay with be.
- 20:18And just trust that God's got us right.
- 20:20He's.
- 20:21He's got us in the palm of his hand and that we can trust that.
- 20:24And as we are praying, rather than having contentious hearts, as you said, that we can be in a place of peace.
- 20:30When we are in that place of peace, our prayers are more powerful because we are praying as we talked about in last week's episode, as Tamara so eloquently said, in the spirit.
- 20:43And when we pray in the spirit, even for those who may not see the way we see, we are helping them and helping God make a difference in their lives and use them as an instrument.
- 20:56Tamara, thoughts?
- 20:58Oh, I love what both of you have said here.
- 21:04One thought that I'd like to tack on to the comment you were saying before Tiffany about how our adversary really is the devil.
- 21:16I have a child who struggled with pornography during their teenage years, and I remember when they were struggling with this that I always reminded them that I love you.
- 21:31You are worth fighting for.
- 21:33You are not the enemy.
- 21:36It is the devil who is the enemy.
- 21:39And so we're.
- 21:40I'm praying for you.
- 21:42You're, you know, you've made a mistake, and we're going to keep praying and fighting for you.
- 21:50And so that was the thought I had when you were talking about how the.
- 21:55The adversary is our enemy.
- 21:57It is making it clear to especially those who are close to us that there's a lot of challenges out there in the world, a lot of addictions.
- 22:10There's a lot of things that can drag us down.
- 22:14And often people feel like they are the enemy and Satan will try to kind of grab Them with those chains and make them feel like they are worth less because they're in these clutches and just remember that they're
- 22:33a child of God, too.
- 22:34And that's what I had to remind them also, is you're a child of God.
- 22:37You have worth.
- 22:38You're worth fighting for.
- 22:40And so I'm praying for you.
- 22:42I'm battling with you in this as a prayer warrior.
- 22:47You know.
- 22:48I think that that's so.
- 22:49Important that we recognize that even in our children, sometimes you may choose to go a different way or that.
- 22:57That God still has them.
- 22:59And our prayers, it may take a very long time, but our prayers are still powerful.
- 23:04We can still pray angels to them.
- 23:07We can still.
- 23:08We can still pray that God will be with them to help soften their heart, to help guide their feet.
- 23:14We can still love them.
- 23:17And that is really what prayer is for others.
- 23:20It is.
- 23:21It is sending God's love to them in a way that is easier for them to receive.
- 23:26I know that there are so many times that I have prayed for people.
- 23:30They have no idea that I'm praying for them.
- 23:32And I see the change that comes in them as I do that.
- 23:37It may take a long time, but I see that God is working in their life because I'm praying him there.
- 23:44Right?
- 23:45And that's the power that we have in our hands of prayer to be able to pray people to where God needs them.
- 23:53Right.
- 23:54I love the story of Job in the story of Job.
- 23:58I mean, we all know the story of Job.
- 23:59Job was like, he lost everything.
- 24:01Satan came and.
- 24:02And he lost everything that he had.
- 24:05And there's like.
- 24:06I don't know, I think it's like 40 chapters of him just, like, talking with his friends and, like, him, like, you know, just sad.
- 24:14And his friends telling him, oh, this is your fault.
- 24:16It's because you said, it's probably because of this, you know, and all of these things.
- 24:19And finally he gets to the end and he has this conversation with God and it.
- 24:24And God.
- 24:25God is like, you don't understand.
- 24:27Like, you don't understand.
- 24:29You.
- 24:29You do not see things from my perspective.
- 24:32And he invited Job to see things from his perspective.
- 24:35And then when he did, God, they had this great conversation and.
- 24:40And he forgave Job.
- 24:41But then he turned to his friends and he.
- 24:43He wasn't so happy with how his friends had treated Job when he was in this difficult situation because his friends had kind of accused him and they kind of.
- 24:51They weren't.
- 24:52I mean, they started out loving and kind, but then it kind of got to judgment, right?
- 24:56And accusation.
- 24:58And I love in verse.
- 24:59And Job 42.
- 25:02So it is 40, literally like 40 chapters of.
- 25:05Of them back and forth.
- 25:07But 42, verse 10 says, and the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends.
- 25:14Also, the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- 25:18So what happened is the Lord came to him and he said, job, I need you.
- 25:23I'm not going to take a sacrifice from your.
- 25:25From your friends, but I want you to pray for your friends, and then I will forgive them.
- 25:29And that is what he asked him to do.
- 25:31And then that beautiful verse is the.
- 25:33Is the evidence of God's love, right?
- 25:36Everything for Job turned the moment that he prayed for his friends.
- 25:41And not only did God give him what he had, but he gave him an increase because of Job's willingness to pray for his friends who had clearly been unkind to him.
- 25:50Right.
- 25:51Like they had been unkind to him.
- 25:52But he did as God asked and everything turned around for him.
- 25:57And I find that that's fascinating.
- 25:59There's so much power in praying for other people.
- 26:03Sandy, do you have any thoughts?
- 26:05Yeah, I just think, you know, as prayer warriors, we can pray in private for our friends, but I've noticed what a difference it makes when we vocalize that, hey, can I pray for you, or I'm praying for you.
- 26:18One of my clients that I coach, she hadn't been.
- 26:23Had a close relationship with God in a very long time.
- 26:27And we would pray and.
- 26:29And I would text her, hey, I'm praying for you, or is there something specific I can pray for you?
- 26:35And now she texts me, I prayed for you today.
- 26:38And that meant so much to me.
- 26:42But if I had kept it quiet that I was praying for her, she wouldn't have seen the miracles.
- 26:47She wouldn't have attributed the miracles in her life to God's hand.
- 26:51And so I think it's really powerful as prayer warriors, as, you know, disciples of Christ as we try to share this message and to be warriors of light, that we need to be vocal about it.
- 27:03I was going through a really hard, sticky, hard thing, and it was complicated.
- 27:10And I put out to my Bible study group, hey, I could use some prayers.
- 27:14And they're, like, on it, you know, they're all praying for me.
- 27:18It wasn't super vulnerable about the whole situation.
- 27:20And I had one gal reach out to me and say, is there something specific that I can pray for you?
- 27:27And she taught me such a beautiful lesson because a.
- 27:31It.
- 27:31It made me think, well, what is it that I Specifically need.
- 27:35Right.
- 27:36And it made me contemplate that.
- 27:38And then I was able to share that with her, and.
- 27:41And I knew she was praying specifically for what I needed.
- 27:44And I saw these miracles, I felt peace in my life.
- 27:47And.
- 27:47And it was a lesson that was taught to me by another prayer warrior.
- 27:51And I love that as we share and as we ask, we learn from each other and we grow and we are sharing this light.
- 27:59The other thought that I had is as we've, you know, been talking about the armor of light that we can put on and.
- 28:07And we can be in a place of fear.
- 28:09I love how the scriptures tell us that if we trust and if we're prepared, then we don't need to be fearful.
- 28:15And I think the biggest preparation is putting on all these pieces of armor and especially praying, praying for ourselves, praying for others, that as we do that, we don't need to be fearful, that we will be reminded as
- 28:28we pray that he is omnipotent, that he is aware of each one of us, and he can do all things.
- 28:34We don't need to fear.
- 28:35We are in his hands.
- 28:38Such beautiful thoughts.
- 28:39That is so true.
- 28:40I.
- 28:40And I've learned true.
- 28:42I want to just second that praying specific for specifics is so powerful.
- 28:49Being very specific in what you're praying for, for yourself and others can really bring miracles into your life because you are opening it up for God to just see those miracles come and.
- 29:01And provide those for you.
- 29:03It's.
- 29:03It's such a beautiful thing.
- 29:04Thank you, Tamara.
- 29:05Thoughts?
- 29:07Oh, two quick thoughts.
- 29:08First of all, the fact that I'm recording this today is a miracle.
- 29:13We were preparing for this podcast episode to record these today, and I have been sick all week with the flu.
- 29:22And so I put out a call, even on social media last night.
- 29:24I thought, oh, I'm going to put this power prayer principle into action.
- 29:28And I said, hey, friends, will you pray for me?
- 29:31I've been in bed all week.
- 29:33I've got to record these podcast episodes tomorrow, pray that I'll have the strength to be able to do this.
- 29:39And it's been a miracle.
- 29:40We've kind of had to do it in little chunks because Tamara needs a little break in between because I'm still getting better.
- 29:45But putting that invitation out for prayer warriors to be praying for me.
- 29:50And I got so many.
- 29:52And I have felt those prayers.
- 29:53I really, really have.
- 29:55And then the other thing that I wanted to mention is when you were talking about Job, how powerful that is, that principle of praying for those who are harder to pray for and how sometimes that can be a
- 30:12pivotal moment in changing our hearts and souls and moving us forward.
- 30:19And I think some of my most powerful prayers that I've had are when I have turned to God and even thanked him for things that I've gone through in my life that were really hard.
- 30:33And those were some of the most tear filled prayers in my life.
- 30:39Thank you for letting me go through this hard thing.
- 30:42It was so hard, but it has made me who I am.
- 30:45And just weeping through the prayer, the lessons learned or I went this hard person in my life and they were so difficult and stuff like that.
- 30:57When we have those hard, hard heart to heart prayers with God of gratitude for things that are hard, of praying for people who have been challenges in our lives, then God can kind of unlock.
- 31:17I don't, I don't even know how it works, but he unlocks a path to help us begin healing almost.
- 31:26And it's, it's amazing.
- 31:27I really don't know how miraculous that gift of, of his divine love and mercy works, but it does, it does.
- 31:40It totally works.
- 31:41So I'm thankful for it.
- 31:43Thank you.
- 31:43That is beautiful.
- 31:44It is so true.
- 31:45I, I once struggled with someone and I was talking to one of my religious leaders about it and, and he said, have you ever seen the War Room?
- 31:54And I was like, it's a movie.
- 31:56And I was like, no, I've never seen it, so you should go watch it.
- 31:59And I loved it because what the War Room is, is it your prayer room?
- 32:02It's where you fight your battles on your knees.
- 32:06It's such a beautiful film.
- 32:07It's a Christian film called the War Room.
- 32:09And, and it is, it was powerful, realized that instead of fighting people, you know, and struggling with those that we struggle with, like when we really fight our battles on our knees, we're fighting them with the Lord.
- 32:23And that makes all the difference that our battles fought on our knees are going to bring him into our lives and the lives of the people around us.
- 32:32And I think that that is such a beautiful, a beautiful thing and it gives us the opportunity to serve others.
- 32:38And when you're serving others, you're including those that are hard to serve.
- 32:43You are learning to love them because that's what service does, right?
- 32:46Prayer, Praying for others is a form of service and it is serving them in a way that will bring power into life like nothing else can.
- 32:54And it will make all the difference.
- 32:56Well, ladies, we are, we are nearing the end, so let's just talk about a couple of takeaways.
- 33:02Tamara let's start with you.
- 33:04Oh, so many good things here.
- 33:07I'll just mention one because there's so many good ones.
- 33:11But I love how I think you both mentioned it at one point is asking people, can I pray for something specific for you?
- 33:22I think that's a huge takeaway for me.
- 33:26When you know, someone is struggling.
- 33:28What specifically can I pray for you?
- 33:31That's so good.
- 33:32Thank you, Sandy.
- 33:34I think one of the things, my takeaways and one of the things that I'm going to try harder to do is to think more about all of God's children, my community as a world, and who I need to
- 33:46pray for and.
- 33:48And be more intentional about praying for our leaders and praying for those who I may have conflict with.
- 33:56I'm not going to call them our enemies.
- 33:57I don't think they're our enemies.
- 33:59I.
- 33:59I love what Tamara said.
- 34:00The devil's our enemy.
- 34:01Right?
- 34:02We're all sinners, and.
- 34:04And so, you know, we've all made mistakes.
- 34:07And so just being more intentional about expanding my community of who I pray for and seeing God's children everywhere, that I think that's my takeaway for today.
- 34:17I love that.
- 34:18That's a beautiful takeaway.
- 34:19I agree with both of you wholeheartedly.
- 34:22I think for me, mine is to be vulnerable and ask.
- 34:26I think that.
- 34:27That for me, I struggle to ask.
- 34:29But I was really touched with Paul when he was saying, and pray for me.
- 34:34I mean, he was literally teaching us how to do it right.
- 34:37He's telling us all about the armor of God, and then he's saying, oh, by the way, pray for everyone.
- 34:42And me, me, you know, pray for me because I'm imprisoned and I.
- 34:47I still have this mission that I have to fulfill, and I don't know how to do it without your prayers kind of thing.
- 34:52You know what I mean?
- 34:53Like, for me, I just think, especially women that are tuning into this podcast, we all have missions.
- 34:59We all have things that we need to do, and the adversary is going to work really hard to try to overcome us so that we aren't able to do them.
- 35:07And if we aren't using our prayer warriors, if we are not reaching out to our friends and family and saying, hey, I've, like Tamara did, I've got this big thing coming up, and I can't do it alone.
- 35:18Can you please use your faith?
- 35:20Share your faith with me.
- 35:22Pray for me, and let's combine our faith so that I can accomplish what I know God needs me to accomplish.
- 35:28So that's my takeaway for you.
- 35:30For those those who are listening this week, my what my challenge is is for you to either one be vulnerable and tell people what you need and ask for their prayers or to ask someone else what they need
- 35:45specifically that you can pray for and see how it brings miracles in both your life and theirs.
- 35:51And like the scripture that we read earlier, see if it doesn't heal the things in your life that need to be healed.
- 35:58Until next time, have a great week.
