- 0:44Speaker 2: Find us now on the Someone's Favorite Productions Podcast Network.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Anything for a Good Cause.
- 1:10Speaker 4: I'm a security gone.
- 1:11Speaker 5: I kill people every fucking day. That's right.
- 1:15Speaker 3: When I was growing up in Bakersfield, my favorite thing
- 1:18Speaker 3: in all the world was to go to the movies
- 1:19Speaker 3: on Saturday afternoons for the chapter plays.
- 1:23Speaker 5: I know that, mister man.
- 1:25Speaker 3: They also call them serials.
- 1:26Speaker 5: I'm not stupid, you know.
- 1:29Speaker 6: I am the devil and I am here to do
- 1:31Speaker 6: the devil's work, all right.
- 1:45Speaker 7: So on this episode of Beyond the Blood, we're joined
- 1:48Speaker 7: by someone who has carved out her place in horror history.
- 1:51Speaker 7: Horror fans will know her as Vicky from Friday the Thirteenth,
- 1:54Speaker 7: Part two, one of the most memorable and beloved characters
- 1:57Speaker 7: from the early days of Camp Crystal Lake. Recently, she
- 2:01Speaker 7: returned to the genre in a chilling way, delivering the
- 2:03Speaker 7: haunting closing monologue of Chris Nash's In a Violent Nature.
- 2:07Speaker 7: We're thrilled to sit down with Lauren Murray Taylor to
- 2:10Speaker 7: talk Slashers, legacies and what it's like to have helped
- 2:14Speaker 7: define two very different eras of horror. Lauren, Marie, thank
- 2:17Speaker 7: you so much for joining us today.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Hey, thanks for having me. I'm glad I could make
- 2:22Speaker 3: it finally on this weekend.
- 2:24Speaker 7: Oh yeah, we can't thank you enough. We were so
- 2:27Speaker 7: excited to have you here. And I know I was
- 2:30Speaker 7: talking with Chris earlier and you survived Camp Blood weekend
- 2:34Speaker 7: at the Mahoning Drive in Theater. What was that experience
- 2:37Speaker 7: like and how was the turnout?
- 2:38Speaker 5: It was great. It was my second time there.
- 2:41Speaker 3: I hadn't been there for a few years actually, and
- 2:44Speaker 3: you know, it's just so magical. They do a Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
- 2:49Speaker 3: and Sunday, so they have a bunch of days. So
- 2:51Speaker 3: we were there. I was there on Friday, and Saturday night,
- 2:54Speaker 3: and the turnout was amazing. They showed Part one and
- 2:58Speaker 3: then they showed My Bloody Valentine and Humongous another one,
- 3:03Speaker 3: so they have it was different ones.
- 3:04Speaker 5: The first time I was there, it was all.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Friday the thirteenth, all weekend long, so that was different.
- 3:10Speaker 5: And this was great.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I mean they had cos players for both Friday and
- 3:15Speaker 3: for My Bloody Valentine. The director of My Bloody Valentine,
- 3:19Speaker 3: George was there, and there were a lot of people
- 3:21Speaker 3: who had been to the Blairstown Diner for Jason's birthday.
- 3:24Speaker 3: They came a couple of guys from Colorado, Wisconsin. We
- 3:29Speaker 3: had a family that drove all the way from Wisconsin
- 3:32Speaker 3: and it was just it was just a great time.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Lots of dogs dressed up as Jason Bardi's.
- 3:38Speaker 3: It was hysterical and it was a great turnout. I
- 3:42Speaker 3: was surprised because it was, you know, it's Labor Day
- 3:44Speaker 3: weekend that Camp Blood happened, and everybody who runs it
- 3:49Speaker 3: is fantastic. Mozzarellistics so good.
- 3:53Speaker 4: They always do such good like themed like food there always.
- 3:58Speaker 3: It was amazing and also last night was my last
- 4:02Speaker 3: night there. I only went to nights like I said,
- 4:04Speaker 3: and before I head home, they you know they have
- 4:07Speaker 3: they play games too, you know, they have like Tuggle
- 4:09Speaker 3: War and whatnot. Well, last night they had a screaming
- 4:12Speaker 3: contest and they were going to crown the scream queen.
- 4:15Speaker 3: So because I was there, they're like, hey, Lauren, you know,
- 4:18Speaker 3: what do you want to do the crowning? And you know,
- 4:20Speaker 3: they're so cute because they always ask very sheepishly, like
- 4:24Speaker 3: I'm not going to do it. It's like, well, yeah,
- 4:25Speaker 3: what I'm here to do? So I did a nice
- 4:27Speaker 3: scream for them, and I was a little bit hoarse
- 4:29Speaker 3: because I'm a little under the weather. So my desert
- 4:32Speaker 3: bowl was not as good as the winner. So I
- 4:34Speaker 3: bequeathed the crown and crowned her, and then I proceeded
- 4:37Speaker 3: to try to take it away from her. So we
- 4:39Speaker 3: had this whole bit that we did and that was
- 4:42Speaker 3: kind of funny. Yeah, they give prizes, you know, T shirts,
- 4:45Speaker 3: weekend passes to future events. It's just a great venue
- 4:49Speaker 3: and the owners and everybody, their entire staff is they're
- 4:54Speaker 3: just great. And seeing George, who directed My Bloody Valentine,
- 4:58Speaker 3: is the first time we met, and what a gentleman,
- 5:01Speaker 3: you know, those Canadians, They're amazing.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah, meeting George Mahaka would have been so cool. Like
- 5:06Speaker 4: we we covered my buddy Valentine very early on in
- 5:10Speaker 4: this podcast, like before even Steve was officially part of
- 5:14Speaker 4: the podcast. We covered that movie. That's when we hold
- 5:16Speaker 4: very very close to the heart.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Oh, I'll have to hook you guys up. We exchanged numbers.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Oh yeah, maybe I can hook.
- 5:23Speaker 5: You guys up.
- 5:24Speaker 7: Incredible. Oh yeah, So I just obviously I wanted to
- 5:33Speaker 7: kick this off, and I feel like the timing couldn't
- 5:35Speaker 7: be better. You're coming hot off the heels of Camp Blood,
- 5:39Speaker 7: and I wanted to ask you, how did you land
- 5:41Speaker 7: the role of Vicky? Initially four Friday the thirteenth, Part two.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Well, you know, it was crazy because you know, I'm
- 5:47Speaker 3: from New York, you know, born and raised in New York,
- 5:50Speaker 3: and a lot of us were in the area. You know,
- 5:53Speaker 3: you auditioned for you know, commercials, you do commercials.
- 5:55Speaker 5: I've been doing all the Burger King commercials for a
- 5:58Speaker 5: few years.
- 5:58Speaker 3: So, you know, my husband likes to tell the story
- 6:01Speaker 3: that when he used to audition for commercials, he would
- 6:03Speaker 3: look at the storyboard and the girl that they would draw.
- 6:07Speaker 5: You know for the characters.
- 6:09Speaker 3: He said.
- 6:09Speaker 5: He used to say, it looks just like you.
- 6:11Speaker 3: So I had this reputation of being like all American,
- 6:16Speaker 3: clean cut, friendly type of thing, a little on the
- 6:19Speaker 3: dorky side and whatnot.
- 6:20Speaker 5: And when it came the.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Role of Vicky came up, they were looking for that type,
- 6:24Speaker 3: you know, all American sweetheart, you know, slightly short of
- 6:29Speaker 3: awkward and dorky. And the casting director was like, oh, yeah,
- 6:32Speaker 3: we know this girl. So I got the call to
- 6:36Speaker 3: audition for it.
- 6:37Speaker 5: I didn't I don't remember.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I don't think I had to scream because I think
- 6:41Speaker 3: they figured, well, she's from New York, she must have
- 6:43Speaker 3: to scream.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Running from people all the time.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Yeah, So so I got the I got the part.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I got cast in the part almost immediately, and uh yeah,
- 6:53Speaker 3: it was.
- 6:53Speaker 5: It was.
- 6:54Speaker 3: It was.
- 6:54Speaker 5: It was very cool.
- 6:55Speaker 3: And I didn't really know a whole lot about the
- 6:57Speaker 3: first one because they created the second one right on
- 7:01Speaker 3: the heels of the originals, so we really unless you were.
- 7:05Speaker 5: Like a horror fan.
- 7:07Speaker 3: And I was so busy at the time between college
- 7:11Speaker 3: and you know, my first year of college and still
- 7:15Speaker 3: doing TV commercials, I wasn't seeing any movies in any
- 7:17Speaker 3: theaters anytime soon, you know time.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's what ohka ahead, Chris Well, I was
- 7:22Speaker 4: just going to say, like, Fright Thirteenth Part two to
- 7:24Speaker 4: me was always like, first of all, I can't imagine
- 7:26Speaker 4: the pressure on Steve Minor to have to follow up,
- 7:29Speaker 4: you know, but the sequel to these franchises is always
- 7:33Speaker 4: what I think establishes what's going to move forward and
- 7:36Speaker 4: what's not going to Yeah, to me, Fridy Thirteenth Part
- 7:40Speaker 4: two is much more of a traditional slasher than the
- 7:43Speaker 4: first one, but in a good way, like it drove
- 7:45Speaker 4: it forward and laid the foundation for the other, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 4: twelve to come. What was it like working with Steve Minor?
- 7:53Speaker 4: Because I've heard incredible things about him as a director,
- 7:55Speaker 4: so I was just curious from your first hand experience.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Well, you know, if again, you know, because he had
- 8:00Speaker 3: been protege on the first one. You know, it was
- 8:04Speaker 3: his big directing thing to do, and for most of
- 8:08Speaker 3: us it was our first movie give you know, aside
- 8:12Speaker 3: from maybe tidbits here and tidbits there, it's like our
- 8:15Speaker 3: first big role where you know, your character has a name,
- 8:19Speaker 3: you know, and.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Something to do.
- 8:21Speaker 3: So we were all kind of in the same a
- 8:24Speaker 3: little bit on the green side both, you know. So
- 8:27Speaker 3: I don't want to say we were tips hoeing around
- 8:29Speaker 3: each other, but because it was so new, nobody wanted
- 8:33Speaker 3: to disappoint the other person. Yes, so Steve ran a
- 8:37Speaker 3: very tight ship, a very friendly ship, but a very
- 8:40Speaker 3: tight ship. You know. We had a budget, he had
- 8:43Speaker 3: a deadline, and we all had to adhere by you know,
- 8:46Speaker 3: the budget and of course his daily schedule of deadline.
- 8:50Speaker 3: So it's like you came in that you know, that day.
- 8:53Speaker 3: We all slept at the camp. You know, there was
- 8:55Speaker 3: none of this going to a hotel and being late
- 8:58Speaker 3: coming back on set or going home and waking up late.
- 9:00Speaker 3: It's like if you don't wake up, they're at your
- 9:02Speaker 3: cabin going get up.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, because we.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Would mostly at night, so a lot of people would
- 9:08Speaker 3: rest during the day.
- 9:10Speaker 7: Yeah, well that's what I was going to ask. What
- 9:12Speaker 7: was the atmosphere like on Seid? Did you guys like
- 9:15Speaker 7: maybe in hindsight, it's kind of hard to uh, you know,
- 9:18Speaker 7: really think about it at the time, but did you
- 9:20Speaker 7: guys feel like you were making something iconic or did
- 9:22Speaker 7: it feel like it was just another slasher? Potentially it
- 9:25Speaker 7: just you know it.
- 9:28Speaker 5: I don't know, it just felt like another job in
- 9:33Speaker 5: a way.
- 9:34Speaker 3: You know, they were starting to do a lot of
- 9:37Speaker 3: horror movies, so you know, you were auditioning for different ones,
- 9:41Speaker 3: you know, and it's like first come, first served with
- 9:43Speaker 3: all of us because the pool was much smaller back then,
- 9:46Speaker 3: which is why you see a lot of people you know,
- 9:49Speaker 3: hopping around in doing cameos in this movie or get
- 9:53Speaker 3: you know, guests in that movie. You know.
- 9:57Speaker 5: So it wasn't like we knew that it was going
- 10:00Speaker 5: to be a thing.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, for us, it was like, oh, we're
- 10:04Speaker 3: doing a sequel to the first one.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Oh, that's kind of neat.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 5: We didn't think there was going to.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Be a three, and then a four, and the five
- 10:11Speaker 3: and at ten in outer Space in Manhattan, Freddy versus
- 10:15Speaker 3: Jason and then you know, the guy who makes believe
- 10:19Speaker 3: he's Jason.
- 10:19Speaker 5: It's like, we had no idea that was going to happen.
- 10:21Speaker 3: We just thought, all right, well, at the end, you know,
- 10:24Speaker 3: she kills them or something happens to him, and that's it.
- 10:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah. I remember hearing a lot of a lot
- 10:30Speaker 4: of especially from the early Fria thirteenth a lot of
- 10:33Speaker 4: actors saying that agents were kind of trying to dissuade
- 10:36Speaker 4: them from doing these type of horror movies just because
- 10:39Speaker 4: of the stigma at the time of what the genre was,
- 10:41Speaker 4: not knowing that there was an explosion right around the corner,
- 10:45Speaker 4: you know what I mean of them? Did that happen
- 10:46Speaker 4: at all? Like was your agent? Like really or like
- 10:49Speaker 4: I don't even know if you had an agent?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah I did, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, not with mine.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I know, was Amy Steele that happened? Probably she was
- 10:56Speaker 3: the final girl because Sti'll forget I did that. And
- 10:59Speaker 3: then I'm doing Girls Night Out, Yes, you know, bigger
- 11:03Speaker 3: role and you know, a different movie, more more fun
- 11:07Speaker 3: in a way, because you know, let's face it, you're
- 11:08Speaker 3: playing a cheerleader.
- 11:09Speaker 5: That's lots of fun and corona, you know, and so cheerleader.
- 11:14Speaker 3: No matter what. And so it wasn't that. And also
- 11:20Speaker 3: my agents and I we had a track that I
- 11:24Speaker 3: was on. I had already been auditioning for a lot
- 11:26Speaker 3: of daytime dramas, which is really what I wanted to
- 11:29Speaker 3: do because I grew up with my grandmother watching her stories,
- 11:32Speaker 3: you know, and I thought, well that when I realized
- 11:35Speaker 3: that that was the direction I was going to go
- 11:37Speaker 3: for my career is to go into acting.
- 11:39Speaker 5: I thought, well, I want to be on one of
- 11:41Speaker 5: my grandmother's stories. So it was like movie movie I
- 11:44Speaker 5: want to go. I want to be on TV, you.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Know, and so that was our that was our focus.
- 11:50Speaker 3: It was like, yeah, you know, we'll do this movie
- 11:52Speaker 3: or you know, you'll do that movie, and you'll do
- 11:54Speaker 3: you'll dub.
- 11:54Speaker 5: In some screams for other movies.
- 11:56Speaker 3: But you know, the focus was always like I had
- 11:59Speaker 3: already been being tested for several different soap operas, and
- 12:02Speaker 3: it was like I was on their radar. Is just
- 12:04Speaker 3: a matter of getting on one, and then eventually I did,
- 12:08Speaker 3: and then I was on it for twelve thirteen years
- 12:11Speaker 3: after that and didn't do anything except that and TV commercials.
- 12:15Speaker 3: So yeah, so it wasn't a concern for us because
- 12:20Speaker 3: we knew what my goal was and we kept our
- 12:22Speaker 3: eyes on what my goal was to do as a
- 12:25Speaker 3: young actress.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Soaps are crazy, how many like I think. I was
- 12:29Speaker 4: talking to my wife the other day about is it
- 12:31Speaker 4: general I was one of them, and she's like, yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 4: they're on like season forty.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Yeah, days of our Lives.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's what it is.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Yeah, because one of my dearest friends, Julie Dove, she
- 12:42Speaker 3: just played Connie, who is like the comedic psycho who
- 12:46Speaker 3: winds up killing a bunch of main characters too, and
- 12:49Speaker 3: she just did a really nice run a lot, like
- 12:53Speaker 3: thirty some odd episodes on it. And so yeah, I
- 12:57Speaker 3: saw her when I was out in La doing the
- 13:00Speaker 3: Lake Nightmares and that was kind of fun, you know.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like I'm a victim and she was a murderer.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 7: Now the film was shot in Connecticut. What was the
- 13:11Speaker 7: fib like filming at that camp during that time period?
- 13:15Speaker 3: Oh, it was so kooky because you know, like we
- 13:17Speaker 3: said earlier, you know, I was a New York City girl.
- 13:21Speaker 3: So to me, quiet is like, you know, maybe instead
- 13:25Speaker 3: of five police cars going by, maybe.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Three, yeah a night, or instead of you.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Know, fire trucks, maybe just an ambulance or too, you know,
- 13:34Speaker 3: instead of multiple gangs fighting, maybe only a couple.
- 13:38Speaker 5: You know. So it's like I was so used to noise,
- 13:41Speaker 5: and even when.
- 13:42Speaker 3: You're sleeping, it's like it's such a It's like you
- 13:45Speaker 3: know how people have those little sound machines to help
- 13:47Speaker 3: them sleep. Oh yeah, it's like okay, Oh there's an ambulances,
- 13:53Speaker 3: pop cars going by again.
- 13:55Speaker 6: So get.
- 13:58Speaker 3: It's like, thank you for helping me sleep. So, you know,
- 14:00Speaker 3: we get up to Kent and everybody else. You know,
- 14:02Speaker 3: some of them had, you know, posh lives, you know,
- 14:05Speaker 3: as children, you know, some of them grew up in
- 14:08Speaker 3: the suburbs. And then there was me, this girl who
- 14:11Speaker 3: had never ever slept anywhere but in New York City,
- 14:17Speaker 3: you know, maybe a couple hotel rooms, traveling like to
- 14:20Speaker 3: Puerto Rico. But even Puerto Rico was kind of loud,
- 14:23Speaker 3: you know, in hotels. And so we get there and
- 14:28Speaker 3: we didn't stay in a hotel. We're in the cabins.
- 14:32Speaker 3: And I can't tell you how frightened I was. It
- 14:36Speaker 3: was so dark and it was so quiet, and it
- 14:39Speaker 3: was it was such an immersive experience, you know, to
- 14:43Speaker 3: actually live at the camp.
- 14:47Speaker 5: But I couldn't expose, as Vicky.
- 14:52Speaker 3: My fear of being there, my fear of walking in
- 14:55Speaker 3: the dark. It's like Vicky's got to confidently walk around
- 14:58Speaker 3: in the dark and you know, stick her butt up
- 15:00Speaker 3: in the air while digging around her. I would never
- 15:03Speaker 3: have done that.
- 15:03Speaker 4: I've been like this.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Behind me, you know.
- 15:06Speaker 3: And so it was it was very different to have
- 15:09Speaker 3: that deep fear in me walking around in the dark,
- 15:11Speaker 3: even though I know there are camera people right there
- 15:13Speaker 3: and the sound guys right there.
- 15:14Speaker 5: I'm still like, I'm gonna get killed by a bear,
- 15:17Speaker 5: right Oh yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 7: And that's the thing. So, like you guys were doing
- 15:20Speaker 7: night shoots and obviously in the outdoor setting. So was
- 15:23Speaker 7: that as intense as it looked on screen?
- 15:26Speaker 3: In a way it wasn't for me.
- 15:28Speaker 5: It was because I was so afraid of the dark.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean every five feet is as black.
- 15:34Speaker 4: There's no you can't see anything.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Nothing, no lights, know nothing. I mean they gave us
- 15:38Speaker 3: a flashlight to go back to our cabins. But you know,
- 15:42Speaker 3: because now you when you're on set, there are just
- 15:45Speaker 3: so many production people.
- 15:47Speaker 5: It's shocking how many people are involved.
- 15:49Speaker 3: But back then, it's like, Okay, you've got the makeup
- 15:52Speaker 3: artists and you've got the costume, you got the few
- 15:55Speaker 3: camera guys, a few grips of cup, a prop guy,
- 15:58Speaker 3: the director, the ad cinematographer, and that's it.
- 16:02Speaker 5: So there are not a lot of people around.
- 16:04Speaker 3: So even you know, walking into the cabin and shaking
- 16:08Speaker 3: off a little bit of rain and walking up the
- 16:11Speaker 3: steps it's still creepy because it's not like you've got
- 16:16Speaker 3: tons of people around you.
- 16:18Speaker 5: You got the couple of the guys that they've.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Done their lighting, so they're kind of like this, you know,
- 16:23Speaker 3: hanging out waiting to be called on. Yeah, you know,
- 16:26Speaker 3: you got Steve Minor, you know like that. You know,
- 16:33Speaker 3: you know, you got the people in the bed and
- 16:36Speaker 3: it's creepy and it's quiet. So there is a creep
- 16:39Speaker 3: factor to the creaking staircase.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, can I add what so frid third part two?
- 16:45Speaker 4: For me, Vicky's death always stood out the most because
- 16:49Speaker 4: there is such an emotional like I'm going to say
- 16:53Speaker 4: depth for lack of better word to it, that the
- 16:55Speaker 4: first movie never touched. You know. I do think future
- 16:58Speaker 4: movies kind of did a good job at like establishing
- 17:02Speaker 4: a good enough character that you actually care about when
- 17:04Speaker 4: they die. But your character. First of all, I love
- 17:10Speaker 4: the the the relationship between you and Mark. Yes, yes,
- 17:16Speaker 4: that is incredible. Always my favorite dynamic, especially when you
- 17:19Speaker 4: guys are playing the games and you know, like we're
- 17:23Speaker 4: rooting for Mark, you know what I mean, And when
- 17:28Speaker 4: you come back to the cabin obviously Mark, who has,
- 17:31Speaker 4: by the way, the most savage death in the whole
- 17:33Speaker 4: entire They did not have to linger on him going
- 17:38Speaker 4: down those stairs for that.
- 17:40Speaker 5: You know, I feel the same.
- 17:41Speaker 3: It's like, all right, he gets the misch shedding in
- 17:43Speaker 3: the head and then he's kind of go down the stairs.
- 17:45Speaker 5: And it's brutal, it's overkill of kill.
- 17:49Speaker 4: And he's so sweet, like he's such a such a
- 17:52Speaker 4: kind character. Yeah, but when you get back to you know,
- 17:57Speaker 4: the cabin and clearly Mark's not there trying to find them,
- 18:01Speaker 4: so you go up the stairs. I'm sure there had
- 18:04Speaker 4: to be a little bit of because Jason's hiding under
- 18:07Speaker 4: the sheet. Were you I don't maybe this is a
- 18:12Speaker 4: dumb question. You've obviously like went through and practiced that
- 18:16Speaker 4: and they blocked it and everything, so you knew Jason
- 18:18Speaker 4: was there. But was there a little bit of like
- 18:19Speaker 4: true fear when he comes out of that sheet and
- 18:22Speaker 4: he's coming at you with a knife. I mean, I
- 18:23Speaker 4: feel like i'd be a little bit you know.
- 18:25Speaker 3: You know, it's so funny because you know Jerry Wallace,
- 18:30Speaker 3: who was the Jason that killed me, and he was
- 18:33Speaker 3: a key grip you know, on the movie, and you
- 18:37Speaker 3: know we had been goofing around for weeks leading up
- 18:40Speaker 3: to that, you know, but he does. He does put
- 18:42Speaker 3: this sack on. They do the effect with the lighting
- 18:45Speaker 3: for the sun, for the lightning, and the sound of
- 18:48Speaker 3: the thunder. I don't know. I was just you know,
- 18:51Speaker 3: I was a young actress and I thought, well, this
- 18:53Speaker 3: is kind of cool.
- 18:54Speaker 5: And I just wanted to scream my head off and
- 18:57Speaker 5: I just enjoyed doing it.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I thought it was his I mean, you know, you
- 19:01Speaker 3: grow up with a big brother. My brother is only
- 19:03Speaker 3: a year older than I am, but he was your
- 19:05Speaker 3: typical big brother, you know, beat up on me. Not
- 19:08Speaker 3: not not in a mean way, just in a general way,
- 19:10Speaker 3: chasing me, playing tag. So I grew up screaming anyway.
- 19:14Speaker 7: He was like, yeah, little did you know what it
- 19:17Speaker 7: would lead to? Right?
- 19:19Speaker 3: Well, Also, I grew up across the street from the cemetery,
- 19:23Speaker 3: so you got a factor in. There was a lot
- 19:25Speaker 3: of hygienks going on when I was a kid, So
- 19:27Speaker 3: the whole scream factory thing for my brain was already
- 19:31Speaker 3: in the rolodex. So when it was like, you know,
- 19:34Speaker 3: in the script is like en Vicky screams, I'm.
- 19:37Speaker 5: Like, okay, no problem.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Yeah, So it was very easy.
- 19:41Speaker 5: It was very easy to scream.
- 19:43Speaker 7: Yeah, No, that was fun. I was gonna say, so,
- 19:49Speaker 7: was there anything that was cut or changed from your
- 19:51Speaker 7: death scene that maybe, like you know, fans don't know about.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I think it was longer. They lingered on on it longer.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I think after I bit into the capsule of blood.
- 20:06Speaker 5: When we shot it.
- 20:08Speaker 3: And I don't know if it's in the extended version
- 20:10Speaker 3: or not, but when we shot it, I kind of
- 20:12Speaker 3: slumped back with Bill Randolph hanging out behind me with
- 20:16Speaker 3: all the blood on him, the character of Jeff and
- 20:18Speaker 3: I slumped back and I slide.
- 20:20Speaker 5: You know at a camera.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I don't think that's in the extended one. The only
- 20:25Speaker 3: thing that was weird about is that because you know,
- 20:28Speaker 3: it's old school, so there's no fake blood coming out
- 20:31Speaker 3: of my mouth like CGI blood.
- 20:33Speaker 5: It was this little blood capsule back then.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Now you just oh, I can tell you that about
- 20:40Speaker 3: that later about one that I just did just massive
- 20:43Speaker 3: amounts of blood everywhere, but it was just this little capsule.
- 20:49Speaker 3: And you know, the capsule has geltin on the outside,
- 20:52Speaker 3: so it's in the back of my mouth for that
- 20:54Speaker 3: entire scene as the camera's coming towards me and Jason's
- 20:58Speaker 3: knife is coming towards me, and then Steve would go
- 21:01Speaker 3: like this and I would have to bite on the
- 21:02Speaker 3: capsule and it was supposed to burst. Well, the gelatin
- 21:06Speaker 3: got soft, so he was like cut, he goes, Lauren,
- 21:10Speaker 3: bite harder, and I'm like, Steve, I said, I can't
- 21:12Speaker 3: bite any harder. I said, gelatin, it's getting soft, you know,
- 21:16Speaker 3: from keeping it in my mouth? Is there any way?
- 21:18Speaker 3: And he did not want to edit or anything like that.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Cut to her biting into the capsule. So we did
- 21:24Speaker 3: that over and over again. I'm surprised I didn't get
- 21:26Speaker 3: horse from the screaming. But I was young, so I
- 21:30Speaker 3: knew he was getting upset. And because I was such
- 21:33Speaker 3: a young wanting to please actress, the crime that I
- 21:37Speaker 3: do is actually part crime because I knew Steve was
- 21:41Speaker 3: upset about the black Cats working.
- 21:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it was a.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Mixture of really crying in character because I was so
- 21:48Speaker 3: into it and it was kind of cool, and the
- 21:50Speaker 3: other part was like, oh and he's mad at me.
- 21:53Speaker 8: Yeah, right right, No, it's the leg cut for me,
- 21:58Speaker 8: that's the most like, uh, Steeve, who do we talk
- 22:02Speaker 8: to when we talked about we talked about on the
- 22:04Speaker 8: show before, how like you know, somebody get their head
- 22:07Speaker 8: cut off, We're not bothered by it.
- 22:08Speaker 4: They get ripped in half, you're not bothered by it.
- 22:10Speaker 4: But like somebody gets like a fingernail pulled off, and
- 22:12Speaker 4: you can relate to it.
- 22:13Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I remember, Yeah, I remember us having that
- 22:16Speaker 7: conversation not that long ago.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it was the leg. It's when when Jason cuts
- 22:20Speaker 4: your leg is the one that gets me. I'm like, oh,
- 22:23Speaker 4: I'm like, God, that would hurt so bad.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, you know, it's so funny because I canna
- 22:30Speaker 3: tell you guys, I'm I have my Karen conceal a license,
- 22:32Speaker 3: and so you have to take X amount of hours
- 22:35Speaker 3: of you know, in classroom stuff. And then of course
- 22:38Speaker 3: there's you know, I opted for the outdoor shooting range,
- 22:41Speaker 3: you know where you have to like you're in the
- 22:42Speaker 3: woods and you're like this and you still have to
- 22:44Speaker 3: get X.
- 22:44Speaker 5: Amount of rounds on target.
- 22:47Speaker 3: And one of the things that they said, and we
- 22:49Speaker 3: all laughed because we were talking about the movie and
- 22:52Speaker 3: the class too, he's like, you know, you know, you
- 22:54Speaker 3: got it's like Indiana Jones, you got the guy with
- 22:56Speaker 3: knives and knives and knives, knife is gonna hurt. It's
- 22:59Speaker 3: gonna hurt. You gotta protect yourself. And it's like and
- 23:02Speaker 3: Harrison Ford just pulls out his gun. He's just like,
- 23:05Speaker 3: oh no, if Vicky had yeah Raiders, only Vicky had
- 23:09Speaker 3: had just gone, that's this pain from the knife.
- 23:13Speaker 5: Yeah, busted the sackhead and that would.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Be the end of the franchise there. But you know,
- 23:22Speaker 3: a knife cut, It's true. You think you get a
- 23:24Speaker 3: paper cut and you're going.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Ow yep, it hurts so bad.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, a cat scratch.
- 23:34Speaker 4: We just got our first cat only a couple of
- 23:36Speaker 4: years ago, and I actually have scars on my hand
- 23:39Speaker 4: from an accident that happen between us. And that's like,
- 23:43Speaker 4: that's worse than anything I think I've ever experienced in
- 23:45Speaker 4: my life.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Just it's brutal.
- 23:46Speaker 5: It is, it's brutal.
- 23:49Speaker 7: Well, I know you were talking about obviously you know
- 23:51Speaker 7: that key scene with Jason, So obviously at that point,
- 23:54Speaker 7: Jason Orhees wasn't the horror icon that he is today.
- 23:58Speaker 7: What was your impression at the time, like filming with
- 24:01Speaker 7: him or seeing you know him on set, Like, what
- 24:03Speaker 7: was that like?
- 24:04Speaker 3: You know what, it was really creepy because you know
- 24:07Speaker 3: you always joke around. I mean again, bring up my brother. Hey,
- 24:10Speaker 3: you're so ugly, and you know you're just I mean
- 24:15Speaker 3: I went back at him too, don't get me wrong,
- 24:17Speaker 3: but he was a i think fourth or fifth degree
- 24:19Speaker 3: black belt at an earlier age, so I was like, wow,
- 24:21Speaker 3: messing with him? Okay, yeah, he's cool. My brother's like
- 24:25Speaker 3: super cool. It's like Bruce Lee America.
- 24:28Speaker 7: You know, I'm not trying to mess with him, So
- 24:31Speaker 7: forget cobrat kaid.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Is it right anyway?
- 24:36Speaker 3: You know it's it's you know, you think you read
- 24:40Speaker 3: it the sack over his head and you think, Okay,
- 24:42Speaker 3: how are they going to do that? And is that
- 24:44Speaker 3: going to be scary? What's scary is the cutout of
- 24:48Speaker 3: the eye?
- 24:49Speaker 4: Oh yeah, because you know it's.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Like you got the mask. I mean, I've got a
- 24:53Speaker 5: bunch of.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Different masks and whatnot that I've collected from vendors over
- 24:58Speaker 3: the past years and have gotten as gift. You know,
- 25:00Speaker 3: you got the mask, but you see the eyes and whatnot.
- 25:03Speaker 3: You know, it's like a mask, but here you don't
- 25:05Speaker 3: see anything. There's nothing that you see. You don't see
- 25:09Speaker 3: any neck, you don't see anything except that one eye.
- 25:15Speaker 3: And you can tell that the eye is slightly warped,
- 25:19Speaker 3: you know, like somebody in Hollywood who hasn't had their
- 25:21Speaker 3: eyes done yet. You know, it's like, you know, and
- 25:25Speaker 3: that's creepy because that's all you see.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Recovered.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Yeah, sack head Jason is my favorite Jason.
- 25:34Speaker 5: I've always loved sackhead Jason.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Yeah, always like he is. So there's it's it's something
- 25:39Speaker 4: so like it's simple. It's such a simple idea but
- 25:44Speaker 4: it works so and of course, I mean he's got
- 25:46Speaker 4: the big lumbering frame and yes.
- 25:48Speaker 5: No, they're always tall, yeah, yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Yeah, they always tall, big guys. So like anyway, I'm
- 25:53Speaker 4: intimidated by size. But then you just have that very
- 25:56Speaker 4: simple sack on in it just completely Like when he
- 26:00Speaker 4: gets the mask in part three, it's so iconic, but
- 26:04Speaker 4: it kind of like to me as a kid watching them,
- 26:07Speaker 4: it kind of made him less scary. Like I was like, oh, okay,
- 26:11Speaker 4: now he's got a mask.
- 26:12Speaker 5: Yeah exactly, Now he's got a mask.
- 26:15Speaker 3: It's a lot more difficult to go around with a
- 26:17Speaker 3: thing with a tie around your neck and there's no
- 26:21Speaker 3: holes for you to breathe in. It's just you know,
- 26:24Speaker 3: a sack with an eyeball. Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 7: No, when I was a kid, I swear because like
- 26:31Speaker 7: we always go back and forth on which Friday the
- 26:33Speaker 7: Thirteenth film is our favorite, and I like, will die
- 26:36Speaker 7: in this hill that Friday the Thirteenth Part two is
- 26:38Speaker 7: my favorite, hands down. So it's just like, you know,
- 26:42Speaker 7: it's to be able to like commemorate it in this way.
- 26:45Speaker 7: I don't know, it's just it's really special for us.
- 26:47Speaker 7: But now I will ask, like, what was your reaction
- 26:51Speaker 7: the first time you saw the finished film with an audience.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Did you have a chance to experience that?
- 26:55Speaker 2: Oh?
- 26:55Speaker 3: I was mortify.
- 26:58Speaker 5: I was completely mortify. You know, we didn't have any
- 27:01Speaker 5: big premiere.
- 27:02Speaker 3: You know, now you have, you know, do a fifteen
- 27:04Speaker 3: minute film and it's got a premiere. You know, it's like, wait, okay, whatever,
- 27:08Speaker 3: I'll go.
- 27:09Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, right right.
- 27:11Speaker 3: You know.
- 27:11Speaker 5: It was you know, to.
- 27:12Speaker 3: See yourself that big on screen and then you know,
- 27:16Speaker 3: and then you've got you know, you know, this business
- 27:20Speaker 3: going on.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's just.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Oh god, I can't believe I did that. I mean
- 27:26Speaker 3: I could feel myself sinking in the chair.
- 27:30Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, it's like it.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Once upon a time in Hollywood.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Margot Robbie, you know when she as she goes as
- 27:36Speaker 3: Sharon Tates to see her movie, you.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Know, and she's like, that's me, that's me. I'm like, no,
- 27:40Speaker 5: that wasn't me, that wasn't me.
- 27:44Speaker 7: Covering your face.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, let me put the brown on
- 27:47Speaker 3: the or in my face, you know, Oh my god,
- 27:49Speaker 3: God help us.
- 27:51Speaker 5: Look I'm Jason.
- 27:52Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, Zach Jason. Now, obviously for the thirteenth Part
- 27:59Speaker 7: two has a mass of cult following even amongst us.
- 28:02Speaker 7: When did you first realize how much love fans had
- 28:05Speaker 7: for the franchise? Is there like a comments for you?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Well, years ago, my youngest was doing a performing arts
- 28:14Speaker 3: thing in the city, and we don't live in the
- 28:16Speaker 3: city anymore. We live slightly upstate of the city, and
- 28:19Speaker 3: but we would you know, hop hop the train in
- 28:22Speaker 3: or the bus in, and you know, go into the
- 28:24Speaker 3: city for her to do this program.
- 28:26Speaker 5: And I would drop her off.
- 28:27Speaker 3: It was at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and
- 28:29Speaker 3: I would drop her off for her musical theaters thing
- 28:31Speaker 3: and her acting classes.
- 28:32Speaker 5: And one day I'm there and it's a weekend.
- 28:35Speaker 3: My phone rings, you know, and you know early phones,
- 28:38Speaker 3: you know, maybe it was a flip phone.
- 28:40Speaker 5: I go hey, and he.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Goes Lauren, it's Warrington. I'm like, oh my god, Warrington,
- 28:45Speaker 3: how'd you get my number? You know, because cell phones
- 28:48Speaker 3: were not relatively new, but they are maybe ten years
- 28:50Speaker 3: old at that point.
- 28:51Speaker 5: You know, I'm nine years old. And I said, how'd
- 28:53Speaker 5: you get my number?
- 28:54Speaker 3: He goes, I found out who your agent was, and
- 28:56Speaker 3: I just called and said, hey, it's Warrington. What's laurener reason?
- 29:01Speaker 3: And he said, I said, well, where are you? He goes,
- 29:02Speaker 3: I'm in the city. I said, oh, let's have lunch.
- 29:04Speaker 3: He goes, well, I'm at the Javit Center. Come on
- 29:06Speaker 3: buy And you know, so I went go to the
- 29:09Speaker 3: Javit Center or maybe it was the Penn Hotel that year.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I remember it was one of those iconic places. And
- 29:14Speaker 3: I go in there and I see people kind of
- 29:15Speaker 3: looking at me. You know, what the fuck are you
- 29:18Speaker 3: looking at that part of my foot? And I'm like,
- 29:20Speaker 3: you know, and my thing is, what do I have three.
- 29:22Speaker 5: Heads or something?
- 29:23Speaker 3: So I'm like, I said, you know, I see people
- 29:25Speaker 3: running around the little badges on uh New York Comic
- 29:29Speaker 3: Con I think it was, and I said, do you
- 29:30Speaker 3: know where Warrenton Juette is?
- 29:32Speaker 5: And they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's upstairs and over there,
- 29:34Speaker 5: and I'm like, oh okay, and they went.
- 29:36Speaker 3: And I went what and they're like nothing, never mind.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I'm like okay.
- 29:40Speaker 5: So I go over and I go Warrington.
- 29:42Speaker 3: He's like Warren, big hub, big hug, big hug, and
- 29:45Speaker 3: he's got his photographs out with you know, sackhead and
- 29:48Speaker 3: all that. So I'm hanging out behind the table with him.
- 29:50Speaker 3: People are looking at me and they're like, you know,
- 29:52Speaker 3: oh okay, we get where are your pictures? And I
- 29:55Speaker 3: looked at warringtony, so what are they talking about? And
- 29:57Speaker 3: he goes, you sign your pictures, you for autographs, people
- 30:01Speaker 3: pay for your autograph and I'm like they do and
- 30:03Speaker 3: people are like lining up.
- 30:05Speaker 5: He goes, didn't you bring any headshots with you?
- 30:07Speaker 3: And I said no, I said, I don't know anything
- 30:09Speaker 3: about that. Yeah. That's when I realized, oh boy, this
- 30:13Speaker 3: is a thing that's incredible.
- 30:15Speaker 7: Well it's gotta be a surreal moment. But speaking of surreal,
- 30:19Speaker 7: so we are going to touch on in a violent nature.
- 30:22Speaker 7: So yeah, I just wanted to see like what drew
- 30:26Speaker 7: you into this film, or like how did you initially
- 30:28Speaker 7: get involved?
- 30:29Speaker 5: It was it was it was crazy.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I had retired basically, you know,
- 30:36Speaker 3: from because I was teaching for about ten years in
- 30:39Speaker 3: East Harlem, and so I retired from that. And now
- 30:44Speaker 3: I know the whole story because I've speaking to someone
- 30:47Speaker 3: else about it and they watched the DVD that had
- 30:51Speaker 3: all the interviews with the director and whatnot. And then
- 30:54Speaker 3: a reviewer, Al somebody sent me a review because the
- 30:57Speaker 3: review mentioned me, you know, and I was my brother,
- 30:59Speaker 3: of course it was. I wrote, Hey, they mentioned you
- 31:03Speaker 3: in a good way in this review. You know, I
- 31:05Speaker 3: was like, oh, okay. What it happened is because Chris Nash,
- 31:08Speaker 3: the director, was a big fan of Friday thirteens and
- 31:11Speaker 3: you know eighties horror, you know, is like every you know,
- 31:14Speaker 3: it's just iconic because it was just so real and
- 31:17Speaker 3: not special EFFECTSI in the beginning, and he had the
- 31:21Speaker 3: idea of having somebody from the franchise in the film,
- 31:26Speaker 3: and his first thought was one of the guys. I
- 31:28Speaker 3: don't recall which one he was thinking about. But then
- 31:30Speaker 3: he decided, well, you know what if I have a
- 31:33Speaker 3: man pick up the final girl, it might seem threatening
- 31:36Speaker 3: to her. So he started looking at the women in
- 31:39Speaker 3: the franchise who he liked, and I just happened to
- 31:43Speaker 3: be on that short list, and you know, he asked
- 31:46Speaker 3: a few people and then it came across me and
- 31:48Speaker 3: he was like, well, we like Lauren too.
- 31:51Speaker 5: You know who reps Lauren.
- 31:52Speaker 3: He reached out to the person who reps me and
- 31:56Speaker 3: she was like, you know, well there's interest.
- 31:58Speaker 5: Do you want to do a zoom thing?
- 31:59Speaker 2: You know?
- 31:59Speaker 3: I was like, yushure. So I got the script in
- 32:02Speaker 3: my inbox and I read through it and she goes,
- 32:05Speaker 3: it's a long script, but your character comes into the end.
- 32:07Speaker 3: I was like, all right, but you know, you read
- 32:08Speaker 3: the whole thing because got to know what's going on
- 32:10Speaker 3: in this movie. And then I just kept reading and
- 32:12Speaker 3: reading and reading. I'm like, wait, man, this part goes
- 32:14Speaker 3: on forever, you know. And so we got on. I
- 32:19Speaker 3: read a little bit with him, we talked about the
- 32:20Speaker 3: character and it was just a perfect match, you know.
- 32:25Speaker 3: So a couple of months later, I'm on my way
- 32:27Speaker 3: to sue Saint Marie in Canada, and it was great.
- 32:30Speaker 3: I mean, I will say I was driving the pickup
- 32:33Speaker 3: truck because the first day it was on a flatbed,
- 32:37Speaker 3: you know, so that I wouldn't be distracted while delivering
- 32:40Speaker 3: all those words and.
- 32:42Speaker 5: He came back the next day.
- 32:44Speaker 3: He said, we have to scrap the whole first day
- 32:47Speaker 3: because it was too much noise. Do you mind driving?
- 32:49Speaker 3: And I was like, oh, yeah, sure. And then also
- 32:51Speaker 3: he had director's notes for me because I'm from New
- 32:55Speaker 3: York and I'm obviously very in your face and animated,
- 32:58Speaker 3: and so he's like, woman lives in the woods, speak
- 33:03Speaker 3: slow and not it is loudly and easy with the use.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Of your hands.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I got in a couple of you know, and it
- 33:15Speaker 3: was I felt my beastings on the back of his head.
- 33:18Speaker 6: You know.
- 33:19Speaker 5: I did get to use my hands on that one.
- 33:21Speaker 3: But then when we went to the premiere in New
- 33:23Speaker 3: York on Governor's Island and I saw it and Rise
- 33:26Speaker 3: my Barrets there, you know, and Andy Pavlo but she
- 33:30Speaker 3: was there, and you know, so when we're watching it
- 33:33Speaker 3: on screen, I hadn't seen myself on the big screen
- 33:35Speaker 3: in like forever, so I took my dress. You know
- 33:38Speaker 3: that Wards is watching it like this because it's like
- 33:41Speaker 3: this is gonna be another Friday Thirteenth part to like,
- 33:44Speaker 3: oh God help me.
- 33:47Speaker 5: And when I was watching it, I.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Was like, now I see why Chris Nash directed the
- 33:53Speaker 3: character in that way because I would have stuck out.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Hian Bostwick is here from Light Out. But then you know,
- 34:03Speaker 3: it was like I realized why he had me pull
- 34:06Speaker 3: back that performance so much, because it would have been
- 34:09Speaker 3: a complete and other disaster if he'd let me be.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Yeah what, So Into Violent Nature is funny because I
- 34:16Speaker 4: just showed it to well, I mean, the situation is
- 34:20Speaker 4: funny because I showed it to my sister, who's twenty.
- 34:23Speaker 4: She's into horror, but she's kind of like taking it.
- 34:26Speaker 4: I'm the oldest, she's the youngest of all the siblings,
- 34:29Speaker 4: so she comes over every now and then I threw
- 34:31Speaker 4: something on and you know, she's like in the whole
- 34:34Speaker 4: terrifier phase right now.
- 34:35Speaker 5: Oh okay, yeah, yeah, I was like.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Let me show you this movie. So I throw it
- 34:38Speaker 4: into Violent Nature, and you know, the whole time, I'm like, yeah,
- 34:43Speaker 4: she gets through all the crazy kills, she gets through
- 34:45Speaker 4: the woodcutter scene, which is my favorite. She gets through
- 34:48Speaker 4: the scene, and she got through the yoga scene. Yes,
- 34:50Speaker 4: she was fine. But the whole time, you know, like
- 34:53Speaker 4: you know that moment when you're watching a movie with
- 34:55Speaker 4: people and you know the twists and you start looking
- 34:58Speaker 4: at them as like, you know, yeah, that's what I
- 35:01Speaker 4: started doing at the end when you show up, because
- 35:04Speaker 4: it's such a change of pace, and the entire scene
- 35:09Speaker 4: is so unsettling because it comes out of nowhere. You
- 35:13Speaker 4: don't know where it's going, and it never leads to anything.
- 35:18Speaker 4: It's it's so good.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Yes, and it's funny you should say that, because there
- 35:25Speaker 3: were a few times where.
- 35:29Speaker 5: I, oh, see, you have a barking dog too, So.
- 35:31Speaker 4: No, you can hear that.
- 35:32Speaker 3: No, I hear it because I know because I listen
- 35:35Speaker 3: to things that I do all the time, you know,
- 35:38Speaker 3: even meetings that I have, and I'm just like, sorry
- 35:39Speaker 3: about the dog walk you know about dog barking in
- 35:41Speaker 3: the background. So but that was funny because there were
- 35:44Speaker 3: a few times where I looked at her and you know,
- 35:48Speaker 3: we have a little walkie talkie in the car and
- 35:51Speaker 3: Chris Nash would get on the walking talking goes I
- 35:54Speaker 3: can read your mind.
- 35:55Speaker 5: I went shit, Okay.
- 35:56Speaker 3: So there were a few times because they didn't know
- 35:58Speaker 3: where it was going to go down the line. Yeah,
- 36:01Speaker 3: with this character, I don't know if she's in the
- 36:02Speaker 3: sequel or not, but who knows where she might pop
- 36:05Speaker 3: up in the future. So he's like we don't want
- 36:09Speaker 3: to know whether she is a good samaritan, whether she is.
- 36:15Speaker 5: Bringing her to Johnny.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Whether she knows about Johnny and knows what he does
- 36:21Speaker 3: and doesn't care.
- 36:23Speaker 5: You know.
- 36:24Speaker 3: So like when I'm doing the tourniquit, I think he
- 36:27Speaker 3: cut this shot out because he had the camera on
- 36:29Speaker 3: me and I did look at her and I went
- 36:31Speaker 3: like this one I tell it once and I felt
- 36:34Speaker 3: my face do it. I felt it the giveaway, and
- 36:37Speaker 3: I think that was one where he focused on her face,
- 36:40Speaker 3: and you know, you know, because he had multiple cameras
- 36:42Speaker 3: going at the same time.
- 36:44Speaker 5: So a lot of people say.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Including there's a reviewer, what culture, this guy what culture?
- 36:50Speaker 3: And he ranked it like the second top ten performance
- 36:53Speaker 3: of the year, and he put he he nailed it
- 36:56Speaker 3: because he said, we don't know what she's we don't know,
- 36:59Speaker 3: you know. The fine line that I had to walk
- 37:02Speaker 3: with the character, especially being a loud New Yorker, was
- 37:05Speaker 3: one of the hardest things I ever had to do
- 37:08Speaker 3: because I couldn't tip my hand in either direction. I
- 37:11Speaker 3: couldn't be like, oh, poor you, Oh, maybe take good
- 37:14Speaker 3: care of you. But I also couldn't be like, yeah,
- 37:18Speaker 3: you'll see.
- 37:20Speaker 7: And I remember watching it for the first time because
- 37:23Speaker 7: you have like you're coming down off of this high
- 37:26Speaker 7: of like violence basically gore and everything. And I just
- 37:29Speaker 7: remember getting to that point in the movie where I'm
- 37:33Speaker 7: starting to wonder, is this gonna be like some sort
- 37:35Speaker 7: of like Pamela of War. He's type like you know,
- 37:38Speaker 7: flip of the switch, or like introducing a character like this. Now,
- 37:41Speaker 7: did Chris Nash describe the importance of that monologue, like,
- 37:46Speaker 7: you know, it's because it's so erie and reflective.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, I mean I think that's pretty much how
- 37:51Speaker 3: I got the role too, is because I read it
- 37:55Speaker 3: in a certain way, and then I discussed with him
- 38:00Speaker 3: who this woman is and why she's nonplussed by bears
- 38:08Speaker 3: or coyotes, and the violence in nature and how animals
- 38:12Speaker 3: just don't care. You know, nature doesn't care. If it's
- 38:15Speaker 3: your day, it's your day. If it's not, it's not
- 38:17Speaker 3: you know, tree could fall on your head. You know
- 38:20Speaker 3: whose fault is it? Is it the tree's fault, your faulter,
- 38:23Speaker 3: God's faulter, the wind?
- 38:24Speaker 5: You know.
- 38:25Speaker 3: So he really wanted to make sure that, you know,
- 38:28Speaker 3: when I told the story, I told it in such
- 38:32Speaker 3: a quiet way that it would be unsettling for both
- 38:36Speaker 3: her and the audience is like would be like, why
- 38:41Speaker 3: is she talking about this in such an every day way?
- 38:46Speaker 6: M h.
- 38:47Speaker 3: And it was because he wanted my character to be
- 38:50Speaker 3: like see it all the time, you ain't any different,
- 38:53Speaker 3: girly m hm.
- 38:55Speaker 4: And that's what makes that scene, I think so great,
- 38:57Speaker 4: because you have you have all of that going on,
- 39:00Speaker 4: and then it constantly cuts back to especially when you're
- 39:02Speaker 4: putting on the tourniquet when she looked out into the woods,
- 39:05Speaker 4: and then you have the POV shot again from the woods,
- 39:08Speaker 4: but it's not moving, so you don't. It's like this
- 39:10Speaker 4: endless like up and down. It's kind of like a
- 39:12Speaker 4: roller coaster doesn't have this big drop, but it just
- 39:15Speaker 4: does this and it constantly, Like the first time I
- 39:17Speaker 4: saw it, I remember like kind of having like my
- 39:19Speaker 4: heart rate would kind of go up and then it
- 39:21Speaker 4: would then right back down. Oh and then and then
- 39:24Speaker 4: all of a sudden the credits roll and you're like, oh, okay, yeah.
- 39:29Speaker 5: It's meant I mean.
- 39:30Speaker 3: And that's funny because I'm I remember getting the New
- 39:32Speaker 3: York Times in my inbox that morning and it was
- 39:36Speaker 3: like they they loved the film.
- 39:38Speaker 5: They loved it.
- 39:39Speaker 3: And I was like, I mean, I actually one of
- 39:41Speaker 3: my friends called my husband before I could tell my husband,
- 39:45Speaker 3: he goes.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Lauren's movie got reviewed in the New York Times.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Because we went and saw an early and early showing
- 39:51Speaker 3: of it with friends, well like eight of us went.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Lawren's movie got a good review in the New York Times,
- 39:57Speaker 3: and John's like, hun, I said, I know, I'm reading
- 39:59Speaker 3: it because they like that. They like the fact that
- 40:02Speaker 3: it just sort of leaves you and it's like, well,
- 40:06Speaker 3: now what do I do? And it makes you afraid
- 40:10Speaker 3: to go into the woods because it's like, wait, I
- 40:14Speaker 3: just got left and now what.
- 40:18Speaker 5: So it's it like it understands that the.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Audience is smart, yeah, and the audience can figure out
- 40:27Speaker 3: for themselves where what they think might happen, and then
- 40:31Speaker 3: you'll see in the sequel what happens.
- 40:34Speaker 5: I don't know anything about it, so I know it's
- 40:36Speaker 5: in pre pre pre production.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Was it kind of self reflective for you to go
- 40:41Speaker 4: from Friday Thirteenth, Part two to now a movie that's
- 40:44Speaker 4: essentially kind of pulling the genre inside out and showing
- 40:49Speaker 4: you a different view, Because I mean, in violent nature,
- 40:52Speaker 4: it lends its hand to it's it's a it's a
- 40:54Speaker 4: love letter to the slasher genre. And I don't I
- 40:57Speaker 4: don't like to say it dissects it, but it definitely
- 41:00Speaker 4: kind of, you know, reveals more about it than you
- 41:03Speaker 4: would think, you know, watching the the Killer just slowly
- 41:06Speaker 4: walk because we think that's what Jason does. In between
- 41:09Speaker 4: all of this watching like the beautiful moment when he
- 41:13Speaker 4: is playing with the car on the.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Key, Love that moment.
- 41:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's all these great moments that you when
- 41:19Speaker 4: you're watching Friday the thirteenth, you always wonder, what's Jason
- 41:22Speaker 4: doing now, like he just killed somebody?
- 41:23Speaker 5: What exactly?
- 41:26Speaker 3: And you're right, it does it just it takes it
- 41:29Speaker 3: and it goes, it fills in the blanks.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, So it must have been fun for you
- 41:35Speaker 4: to kind of be on both ends of that. You're
- 41:37Speaker 4: on the you know, the inspired or the the where
- 41:40Speaker 4: inspiration came from and what inspiration became side. That must
- 41:43Speaker 4: have been cool.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's definitely an honor to be part of that,
- 41:48Speaker 3: you know. And I've worked with several young filmmakers since
- 41:52Speaker 3: working with Chris Nash, and you know, again it's like
- 41:55Speaker 3: a young Steve Minor, except now that I'm older I
- 41:58Speaker 3: have a different perspective when I see, sure the young directors.
- 42:01Speaker 3: And I did something recently and I commented, I think
- 42:05Speaker 3: it was the producer. I said, he has such command,
- 42:08Speaker 3: you know, off off set, it's like yuk yuk yuk
- 42:12Speaker 3: who you know, joking around, yuk yuk ye have a
- 42:14Speaker 3: beard type of thing. But then once they walk on set,
- 42:17Speaker 3: it's like the respect that these young directors have because
- 42:20Speaker 3: their vision is so clear cut, you know, and where
- 42:24Speaker 3: they want their film to go, and how they want
- 42:27Speaker 3: to be perceived as filmmakers, you know, and what their
- 42:32Speaker 3: future looks like to the audience and to you know,
- 42:35Speaker 3: obviously reviewers, but I'm sure they're not thinking about that,
- 42:39Speaker 3: you know. It's just fascinating to see these young filmmakers
- 42:44Speaker 3: at their you know, little their roots and to see
- 42:48Speaker 3: where they go from there. It's an honor to be
- 42:51Speaker 3: a part of the new generation for sure.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Well they I think that's you know, before we wrap up,
- 42:57Speaker 4: I think that's what's important here is like we do
- 43:00Speaker 4: this because of these movies, right, like watching fri Thirteenth
- 43:04Speaker 4: Part two, Like if we hadn't it's like if my
- 43:07Speaker 4: mom hadn't showed me The Exorcist at six, you know, like,
- 43:10Speaker 4: what would this podcast not exist? Like might there not
- 43:14Speaker 4: be all of this stuff? Or like, you know, so
- 43:17Speaker 4: even even this, you know, we're our podcast is built
- 43:20Speaker 4: off of all of the love that we have for
- 43:23Speaker 4: this genre and people like yourself, an impact that you
- 43:27Speaker 4: and your characters and everyone's had on on our lives.
- 43:32Speaker 1: You know.
- 43:32Speaker 4: So watching In A Violent Nature it kind of felt
- 43:34Speaker 4: to me. I don't know if anybody else felt this way.
- 43:37Speaker 4: It felt like a little bit of a gift coming
- 43:39Speaker 4: from somebody else like me. It was almost like, Hey,
- 43:43Speaker 4: here's something handmade for you with all the love in
- 43:46Speaker 4: the world and all the years that we spent watching
- 43:48Speaker 4: these movies. And I think that's why I love it
- 43:51Speaker 4: so much, because it's kind of like that perfect sum up,
- 43:53Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Wow, Yeah, it's it was.
- 43:55Speaker 4: It was wonderful.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Wow, like a little like a little love letter.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Absolutely, Yeah, Steve, any other questions you want to go
- 44:03Speaker 4: before we wrap up?
- 44:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm around if you need.
- 44:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I was going to say, I mean, really like
- 44:10Speaker 7: the last thing I was going to ask you, were
- 44:11Speaker 7: there any moments during the filming of Innviolent Nature that
- 44:14Speaker 7: reminded you of your time making Probably the thirteenth.
- 44:17Speaker 5: Part two, being in the middle of nowhere?
- 44:19Speaker 7: Okay, was it just as creepy?
- 44:23Speaker 3: Well, it's funny because they put me up in this
- 44:25Speaker 3: beautiful hotel. Yes, right along one of the great legs,
- 44:29Speaker 3: you know, and I think I think it's Michigan. Was
- 44:33Speaker 3: right across the way there's a Saint Marie in Canada,
- 44:35Speaker 3: and I believe it's Michigan. There's a Siue Saint Marie.
- 44:38Speaker 3: So it was a very quiet area. And I love
- 44:40Speaker 3: going running, you know, wherever I am, I like to
- 44:42Speaker 3: do a little run. And so I thought, I'm going
- 44:45Speaker 3: to get up and go running early in the morning
- 44:46Speaker 3: since my call time is not until eleven.
- 44:48Speaker 5: So I get up and you know, there's this.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Sanctuary, like an animal sanctuary, a little far about a
- 44:55Speaker 3: mile from the hotel. Well, it was deserted, of course,
- 45:00Speaker 3: it's deserted. And all I kept thinking was, okay, okay,
- 45:06Speaker 3: this is either going to be a horror movie in
- 45:08Speaker 3: real life or dateline NBC episode was like she went
- 45:12Speaker 3: running in Sue Saint Marie. Yeah, the film a horror movie.
- 45:16Speaker 5: The horror came knocking at her.
- 45:21Speaker 3: So that that kind of reminded me because I started
- 45:24Speaker 3: running when I was filming Friday the thirteenth, R. Two
- 45:28Speaker 3: because I had nothing to do during the day, and
- 45:30Speaker 3: I was kind of like not I mean, I was
- 45:32Speaker 3: played tag and jumped rope, but I wasn't.
- 45:34Speaker 5: Like on a team on a team on a team,
- 45:36Speaker 5: you know.
- 45:37Speaker 3: And so I started running while filming Fria thirteenth, and
- 45:39Speaker 3: I thought, how full circle would that be of she
- 45:42Speaker 3: started running when she was doing Frida thirteenth, her last run.
- 45:47Speaker 4: She was running for her life.
- 45:52Speaker 5: So that reminded me.
- 45:53Speaker 3: And also just I mean, I know Kent, Connecticut is
- 45:57Speaker 3: not in the middle of nowhere, but it felt like
- 46:00Speaker 3: I get to my little nineteen year old self and
- 46:04Speaker 3: being in Sue Saint Marie in the middle of nowhere
- 46:08Speaker 3: in Canada, you know, it felt it felt the same
- 46:12Speaker 3: way again, like there is no one for Miles. So man,
- 46:17Speaker 3: it was really it lent itself to that creepiness of nature.
- 46:23Speaker 5: So that definitely helped.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I believe it.
- 46:26Speaker 7: Well, we can't thank you enough for your time, Laurene.
- 46:30Speaker 7: Where can our viewers find you? Social media anything like that?
- 46:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm on I'm mostly on Instagram.
- 46:37Speaker 3: It goes to my Facebook, but I can never figure
- 46:39Speaker 3: out how to get on my Facebook. Whenever I try
- 46:42Speaker 3: to post on my Facebook, it posts on one of
- 46:44Speaker 3: my friend's pages instead, so I think it tels took
- 46:47Speaker 3: me forever to try to figure out how to get
- 46:49Speaker 3: onto this link to talk with you guys. So you
- 46:51Speaker 3: can find me on Instagram, it's just Lauren Marie Taylor
- 46:54Speaker 3: one with the number one behind it, so it's really me.
- 46:57Speaker 3: A lot of people are like, oh, who runs your Instagram.
- 46:59Speaker 3: I'm like, I do, so I'm attack the emojis. And
- 47:04Speaker 3: then if you go to my website, it's just my
- 47:06Speaker 3: name Laurenmriietaylor dot com. And I'll be updating it. But
- 47:09Speaker 3: that's where you know, links to upcoming appearances are my backstory,
- 47:15Speaker 3: you know, fan favorite things.
- 47:17Speaker 5: I haven't gonna I think I'm supposed to updated today.
- 47:19Speaker 3: My best friend helps me with Mike.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Yeah, oh that's cool.
- 47:22Speaker 3: So but she's out in LA right now, formerly Texas,
- 47:25Speaker 3: now in LA, and so we have to update it
- 47:29Speaker 3: together because I'm.
- 47:30Speaker 5: So technologically, you know, just horrible.
- 47:35Speaker 3: But yeah, so it's Lauraietaylor dot com or uh, Laura
- 47:38Speaker 3: Marietaylor one with a number one behind it.
- 47:41Speaker 5: That's all really really really me?
- 47:43Speaker 7: And is there any upcoming projects? Or appearances you wanted
- 47:46Speaker 7: to promote while we're on here.
- 47:47Speaker 5: Well, let's see.
- 47:48Speaker 3: I'm going to Nickel Cityconumn Buffalo the first weekend of October.
- 47:53Speaker 3: I had to actually drop out of a short film
- 47:55Speaker 3: to go to that because we just could work out
- 47:57Speaker 3: the dates and it's okay. It would have been a
- 47:59Speaker 3: fun thing to do. And then I'm going to be
- 48:01Speaker 3: at the Blairstown Diner for charity for local animal shelter.
- 48:06Speaker 3: We're doing pictures with Jason, so I'm bringing our four
- 48:11Speaker 3: year old border college, the more cooperative of our bree dog,
- 48:14Speaker 3: and I'm gonna dress him up. And then I'm bringing
- 48:16Speaker 3: my husband, so anybody who's a Girls Night Out fan
- 48:20Speaker 3: can bring their Girls' Night.
- 48:21Speaker 5: Out Blu rays or DVDs and he'll be there to sign.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Also, yeah, he's gonna be handling Banjo because Banjo won't
- 48:29Speaker 3: be there the entire day, so Ye'll be there for
- 48:31Speaker 3: several hours and then he'll bring him home. And then
- 48:33Speaker 3: I'm going to Days of the Dead in Chicago the
- 48:37Speaker 3: weekend before Thanksgiving in November, so i'll be I'll be
- 48:41Speaker 3: doing that in next weekend.
- 48:42Speaker 5: I'm filming a.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Sequel to Victim No More so I'm doing Loosens Victim
- 48:47Speaker 3: No More Part two, and then later in the year
- 48:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna be filming Christmas at Aunt Betty's with Troy
- 48:54Speaker 3: burd Bank, director Troy burd Bank, and then I have
- 48:56Speaker 3: a couple a few things coming out. Also the director's
- 48:59Speaker 3: cut the Forest Hills. Yeah, so I'm in the director's cut,
- 49:04Speaker 3: so that'll won't be out for another year or so. Yeah,
- 49:08Speaker 3: and that's a cameo. It's a cameo in that, but
- 49:10Speaker 3: it's really.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Out of character.
- 49:13Speaker 3: So okay, really, I'm not saying I wear the brown undies.
- 49:17Speaker 6: But.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Bringing back it's a lot prettier.
- 49:21Speaker 5: Than the little brown undies.
- 49:23Speaker 3: But I put it this way, I play an aging
- 49:26Speaker 3: or already aged town easy woman.
- 49:31Speaker 7: Oh okay, yeah.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Well I'll be seeing you at Blairsound Diner. Yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 4: love for that. Yeah. So we're gonna bring your cat,
- 49:41Speaker 4: my cat.
- 49:42Speaker 3: My cat's twenty pounds and there's a horror movie.
- 49:47Speaker 4: I wish I could bring my dog, but he's he's
- 49:49Speaker 4: older now and he can't sit in the car because
- 49:51Speaker 4: he refuses to lay down two hours. But we've been
- 49:56Speaker 4: meaning to get back up to Blairstown and I figured
- 49:59Speaker 4: it was a great time to actually just come and
- 50:00Speaker 4: say hi in person, you know what I mean.
- 50:02Speaker 5: Yeah, that'll be.
- 50:03Speaker 3: And they're also gonna have a haunted house there, like
- 50:05Speaker 3: a moving haunted house. And maybe it's an RV haunted house.
- 50:07Speaker 3: I don't know, but yeah, they're gonna have that there.
- 50:10Speaker 5: But yeah, is your cat orange by.
- 50:12Speaker 4: The way, No, he's a tuxedo cat.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Okay because usually the orange cats, because I've got a
- 50:16Speaker 3: sixteen pound orange cat. The pause. He's a huge I mean,
- 50:23Speaker 3: he's like a moving horror movie himself.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Oh, we found our cat in the backyard. We took
- 50:30Speaker 4: him to the vet. He was already twenty He was twenty
- 50:32Speaker 4: one pounds when we got him. They said he wasn't
- 50:35Speaker 4: overweight and real quick when we when I took him
- 50:37Speaker 4: to the vet, he was in the carrier and the carrier,
- 50:40Speaker 4: my vet was like, oh, yeah, it's a big boy.
- 50:43Speaker 4: We're gonna be putting him on a diet. And then
- 50:45Speaker 4: when she walked out, I took him out of the
- 50:48Speaker 4: carrier and she walked in and she was like, oh,
- 50:50Speaker 4: she was like, this is a big boy. She's like,
- 50:52Speaker 4: look at his head. I wasn't a diet. He lost
- 50:56Speaker 4: a pound he's just big, like, he's big and long.
- 51:00Speaker 4: I don't know what mutant food he was eating out.
- 51:02Speaker 8: There, but as.
- 51:05Speaker 5: They say in Silence of the Lambs, he's ruey.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Yeah, he loves the yell and he's very commanding.
- 51:12Speaker 5: So yeah, I mean we got Big Louis. Big Louis
- 51:15Speaker 5: the pause.
- 51:16Speaker 3: He was part of an abandoned litter of two week
- 51:18Speaker 3: old kittens.
- 51:19Speaker 4: Okay, so there were three out.
- 51:21Speaker 5: Of the four left, so we took them.
- 51:23Speaker 3: And during COVID when everybody came back from their apartments
- 51:26Speaker 3: and came back to live at home, so we had
- 51:28Speaker 3: plenty of people to handle these three kittens, and they
- 51:31Speaker 3: stayed in the family. We have one, my son and
- 51:34Speaker 3: his wife haven't the other, and then one of my
- 51:38Speaker 3: daughter's best friends fiance's brother has this.
- 51:42Speaker 5: And they're all big cats.
- 51:44Speaker 3: Yeah, you know that one is black, one is uh
- 51:47Speaker 3: uh minus orange light orange, and then the other one
- 51:51Speaker 3: is you know that mixed.
- 51:52Speaker 5: Light calicode cut type.
- 51:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:54Speaker 5: Great cats. But I mean I've got I've got my
- 51:57Speaker 5: black hat right here.
- 51:58Speaker 3: I've got a long hair that I just inherited from
- 52:00Speaker 3: my aunt who just passed away, and then I've got
- 52:02Speaker 3: my other black cat that I found in East Harlem
- 52:05Speaker 3: when I was teaching and I found her. She was
- 52:07Speaker 3: only this big, and I put her in my pocket
- 52:10Speaker 3: and stuff her in the teacher bathroom and brought her
- 52:12Speaker 3: home at the end of the day.
- 52:14Speaker 4: Oh that's I know. I never thought I would have
- 52:17Speaker 4: a cat, but here I am, you know, cat owner.
- 52:20Speaker 4: My wife and I so and luckily, like we were
- 52:22Speaker 4: worried about my dog because my dog. We have a
- 52:24Speaker 4: pit Boxer mix. Oh yeah, yeah, he's nearly one hundred pounds.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Like he's he's like a real muscle.
- 52:30Speaker 5: He's a big boy too.
- 52:32Speaker 4: Yeah, and he's a little bit like I think sometimes
- 52:35Speaker 4: cat's movements are so like deliberate and like unique that
- 52:40Speaker 4: he kind of gets a little like he'll kind of
- 52:42Speaker 4: like side eye on for a minute. Don't don't let
- 52:46Speaker 4: him for you. He'll cuddle up with him at night,
- 52:47Speaker 4: you know, when nobody's watching.
- 52:51Speaker 5: Yeah, they I mean Big Lou.
- 52:53Speaker 3: And we have a puppy, one year old border Collie
- 52:57Speaker 3: actually the nephew of our four year old Border Collie mix.
- 53:00Speaker 3: And the puppies. You know, he's just you know, he's
- 53:02Speaker 3: a puppy, so he's really excitable. Give big Louis a
- 53:06Speaker 3: kiss Big Lou and Louis just and then the poor
- 53:11Speaker 3: puppy does one of these, but he always goes back
- 53:14Speaker 3: to kiss him, and then big louse Skippy paps him again.
