- Adam Rutz: The power of 1% better. Everybody knows there are 24 hours in a day. But here's something you probably don't think about. 1% of your day is only 14 minutes and 24 seconds. That's it. So let me ask you a question. How much of your day are you actually using to get better? Because most of us will say we want more. We want to become better athletes. Better leaders, better business owners, better spouses, better parents. But then look at where your time actually goes. Check your screen time. Look at how much time you spend scrolling, watching TV, consuming content, complaining, comparing yourself to other people, or doing things that aren't moving your life forward. And then ask yourself. Am I really giving even 1% of my day to intentionally developing myself? Because 14 minutes and 24 seconds can change a lot over time. 14 minutes reading, 14 minutes studying your craft, 14 minutes training, 14 minutes practicing visualization, 14 minutes reviewing film, 14 minutes working on the skill that could completely change your career. The point isn't that 14 minutes magically makes you elite. The point is that small development repeated consistently compounds. You don't have to completely transform your life today. You just have to leave today a little better than you entered it. So here's your challenge. Find your 14 minutes and 24 seconds today. Put your phone down. Eliminate the distraction. And intentionally invest 1% of your day into becoming the person you say you want to become. Then wake up tomorrow and do it again. Get 1% better every single day. Mindset, process, discipline, execution. That's mental performance daily.
