- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:13Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It's that time again. We're here with a listener mailbag
- 0:21Speaker 1: episode featuring your emails. Again, you can always reach us.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We are hello at Girls Gonehomark dot com. Send your
- 0:31Speaker 1: thoughts on all things Hallmark. As you'll see, it is
- 0:34Speaker 1: quite the mixed bag of items. Don't forget, we do
- 0:37Speaker 1: have a phone number two nine four nine three two
- 0:40Speaker 1: nine eight zero nine zero. If you want to leave
- 0:43Speaker 1: us a voicemail with all of your deep Hallmark thoughts.
- 0:46Speaker 2: My gosh, call us and you'll appear here on the podcast.
- 0:50Speaker 2: That's right. You don't even have to say your name,
- 0:53Speaker 2: identify yourself, whatever. Just give us a call. That would
- 0:57Speaker 2: be super fun. We haven't had one inna it since
- 1:00Speaker 2: our friend Shannon from Australia. It is hard to live
- 1:04Speaker 2: up to the standard set by Shannon with her adorable
- 1:07Speaker 2: accents exactly, but you know we believe in you exactly.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna start us off. I do. Josh wrote
- 1:15Speaker 2: in regarding Curious Caterer, and he says, thanks so much.
- 1:20Speaker 2: For spreading the word about Curious Caterer on your blog.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I've shared it with my family and friends who are
- 1:26Speaker 2: huge fans. We've gone the next step and launched a
- 1:30Speaker 2: petition if you do any more content around Curious cater
- 1:34Speaker 2: do you mind mentioning? So here we are mentioning the
- 1:38Speaker 2: Curious Caterer petition on change dot org and they are
- 1:42Speaker 2: trying to urge Homework to produce more Curious Caterer movies.
- 1:46Speaker 1: We will link both the blog posts that we wrote
- 1:48Speaker 1: with the latest Curious Cater updates direct from Nikki de
- 1:51Speaker 1: Loosh herself, as well as this petition. They currently have
- 1:55Speaker 1: three hundred and sixty four signatures. Their goal is to
- 1:57Speaker 1: get to five hundred signature to urge Hallmark to make
- 2:03Speaker 1: some more Curious Cater episode.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Question for you, do you think these online petitions help her?
- 2:10Speaker 2: Has anybody seen them? I'm curious about your opinion.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I don't know either. I honestly, in my opinion, I
- 2:18Speaker 2: think it's best to get into Hallmarks on their social media.
- 2:21Speaker 2: You need to be like they are going to be
- 2:24Speaker 2: most responsive over there.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Just flood their social media.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I'm not suggesting flood them, but you know when Hallmark
- 2:32Speaker 2: on Instagram posts something about hey, sugar and Vice came
- 2:37Speaker 2: out this weekend in the common say hey, when can
- 2:39Speaker 2: we get an update on Curious cater and maybe they'll respond.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Good idea.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I think a social media team is going to be
- 2:46Speaker 2: more responsive than a petition. But that is my opinion,
- 2:51Speaker 2: that is my head. You guys know you know.
- 2:57Speaker 1: All right? Next time, Marianne wrote regarding one Chris for
- 3:00Speaker 1: Polaha as Jimmy Stewart in Holiday movie, my dog just
- 3:03Speaker 1: came down stairs with a candy wrapper in his mouth.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I've got teenagers, so three guesses about where that came from.
- 3:11Speaker 2: He was so proud, like his whole body language was
- 3:15Speaker 2: completely different.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He's had a sour patch kids. Hold on, we'll make
- 3:21Speaker 1: this a visual episode.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I'll take a photo so you can see just exactly.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Back to Marianne's email, she says, Hi, Megan and Wendy,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I love listening to you guys every week, whether I'm driving,
- 3:31Speaker 1: on my commute, cooking, or on a run. So many
- 3:33Speaker 1: times I wish your podcast was a radio program with
- 3:36Speaker 1: the ability for us to call in.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Mary from your lips to the.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Serious xm ears, especially when you don't know the answer
- 3:48Speaker 1: to a question.
- 3:49Speaker 2: The other day.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I was running while listening and was yelling out loud,
- 3:53Speaker 1: small town Christmas, small town Christmas. When you can remember
- 3:57Speaker 1: which movie Christopher Palaha channeled Jimmy Stuart. Wish I could
- 4:01Speaker 1: have called in then. Luckily no one was on the
- 4:03Speaker 1: street when I was yelling this. Thank you, Mary Anne.
- 4:05Speaker 2: That's hilarious. Also, Mary Anne, we do have a phone
- 4:08Speaker 2: number you can call in. We may not be a
- 4:11Speaker 2: live radio call in show, but what's our phone nine
- 4:15Speaker 2: four nine three two nine eight zero nine zero Call
- 4:19Speaker 2: us next time you're on your run. I would love it.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I would love it. Hey, writer in her Francisco has resurfaced.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I know he's just waiting for the way home to
- 4:36Speaker 2: drop and we'll hear from him more on the rag.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Francisco writes, Hey, Magan a windy again. I watched two
- 4:41Speaker 2: movies this month. Hey, the Olympics were on. No, that's
- 4:45Speaker 2: all good. It's not homework, Francisco. Yeah, it's all good
- 4:48Speaker 2: over here. I really enjoyed because of Cupid. I'm missing
- 4:51Speaker 2: Amy Greening at Christmas and think she totally has leading
- 4:54Speaker 2: lady energy. This one oddly, I'll this one started odd
- 5:00Speaker 2: I'll admit how seemed like some over the top weirdo.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It of course made sense when he gave the ingredient,
- 5:06Speaker 2: and further when we discovered he was cupid. I did
- 5:10Speaker 2: like that magical realism element. Overall. I really enjoyed the
- 5:14Speaker 2: story and supporting cast and how each relationship played out
- 5:17Speaker 2: in the end. It was a real fun, romantic comedy.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I'm gonna stop there. I watched this movie in a
- 5:22Speaker 2: fever dream, and you think you didn't like it. I
- 5:25Speaker 2: think I didn't like it.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I liked it. I thought it was real cute.
- 5:28Speaker 2: So what are your thoughts?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Then?
- 5:30Speaker 2: On his commentary here about how and the magical realism
- 5:37Speaker 2: and Elmy graining, et cetera, I agree with all of it.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I love Amy Greening. I want to see more of her.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I would love to see her lead a limited series.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I think she would be great doing that. I liked
- 5:47Speaker 1: the how is Cupid Disappearing magical shop element of it all.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I thought it was cute.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Will we ever review it?
- 5:55Speaker 1: I don't know. I'd have to rewatch it.
- 5:57Speaker 2: At this point, Same girl, Same Francisco goes on, Okay,
- 6:02Speaker 2: he says, I have to say I agree with Megan
- 6:05Speaker 2: on the Stars between us, it fell flat. I was
- 6:07Speaker 2: rooting more for Travis and Clair than Kim and Malcolm.
- 6:11Speaker 2: We see them meet for like five minutes seven years ago,
- 6:14Speaker 2: and they're meant to be together. Question Mark, Are you
- 6:16Speaker 2: kidding me? Question Mark. We never saw them mention the
- 6:20Speaker 2: other person in any important manner except her influence in
- 6:24Speaker 2: his career. Also, the on camera of flirting. Okay, she
- 6:29Speaker 2: wants to be taken seriously and she does that. It
- 6:31Speaker 2: was ridiculous. I felt there was no real stakes. And yes,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I also thought of we met in December. Look, I
- 6:39Speaker 2: like that movie. I do think it had its problems.
- 6:42Speaker 1: It was fine for me. I didn't hate it. I
- 6:45Speaker 1: know a lot of the people on our Facebook group
- 6:46Speaker 1: are like, I can't believe Megan came from this movie.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I didn't hate it. I just don't think it was
- 6:50Speaker 1: the greatest thing I've ever seen.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Did you come for it?
- 6:53Speaker 1: I don't think I did.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I think you just said I didn't like it. Yeah.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I think you were disappointed by it because you were
- 6:59Speaker 2: most excited. Yeah. I think that's fair, and I do
- 7:02Speaker 2: agree that our two leads. I wanted to see them
- 7:06Speaker 2: together more. Yeah, because they were so good.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yeah, Steve emailed regarding our episode reviewing The secret Ingredient,
- 7:15Speaker 1: Steve says, so Rocky Mountain Christmas needs to be watched.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Palaja once stated in an interview that it's one of
- 7:20Speaker 1: Hallmark's most watched premieres. Got to get into without Hallmark
- 7:23Speaker 1: History Now didn't translate here, but in his email there
- 7:26Speaker 1: was a little winky face emoji the secret Ingredient. I
- 7:28Speaker 1: really appreciate the podcast honesty. Don't always find that. I'm
- 7:32Speaker 1: not surprised when he called it a grocery store cupcake.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Nice passive, aggressive way of saying thumbs down or meh
- 7:38Speaker 1: without being critical. Grocery store cupcakes suck in my opinion,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I mean agree to disagree, Steve. Most people always shape
- 7:46Speaker 1: their narratives. If a person likes a movie, the plotholes
- 7:49Speaker 1: are glossed over. If someone dislikes a movie, the plotholes
- 7:51Speaker 1: are magnified. And this movie's no different. The nitpicking of
- 7:54Speaker 1: what you didn't like is crazy. Off the charts?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Hmm. Were we being nitpicky and off the charts? I mean,
- 8:03Speaker 2: I think that's the that's the implication.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I don't think we were any more nitpicky than we
- 8:07Speaker 1: ever are. Is this mailman, Steve, I think so.
- 8:09Speaker 2: He's surely a fan of ours. It's okay, Like I'll
- 8:12Speaker 2: take criticism, and I think it's fair to.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Say Steve was disappointed by us.
- 8:16Speaker 2: He's not alone. Somebody else told us that they were
- 8:20Speaker 2: their heart hurt that we uh, yeah, I know people
- 8:23Speaker 2: love this movie. I honestly didn't dislike this movie either.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I think it was me who disliked it. Okay.
- 8:29Speaker 1: One of you questioned why Penny's character would buy the diner.
- 8:32Speaker 1: The quote was, what does this bozo know about fried Chicken?
- 8:34Speaker 1: That was me, Steve Wendy. He bought the diner because
- 8:37Speaker 1: he's still in love with Kelly and wants a do over.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Has nothing to do with his niche of culinary talents,
- 8:42Speaker 1: he says. I don't always agree with your takes, but
- 8:44Speaker 1: it's always a fun listening, Steve, Are you in the
- 8:48Speaker 1: mood to take something personally?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Kind of a little bit? The lexa pro is not
- 8:54Speaker 2: lexapro im cry Actually, okay, there's a couple of things
- 9:02Speaker 2: I just want to address here. I appreciate you adding
- 9:05Speaker 2: that the winky face emoji did come after got to
- 9:08Speaker 2: get in tune with the Hallmark history, Steve. We try,
- 9:12Speaker 2: we really try it. There is a big library of
- 9:15Speaker 2: Hallmark movies, and while we've been doing this five years,
- 9:18Speaker 2: we have not seen every.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Movie, and we've done over six hundred episodes. We're we're
- 9:23Speaker 1: gonna look.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I do think, and I think the winki face emoji
- 9:26Speaker 2: is appropriate because we I think are doing the work
- 9:32Speaker 2: we do throw back movies and wise I think.
- 9:35Speaker 1: We're doing the work. We're trying here, folks.
- 9:38Speaker 2: I yeah, And then I just apologize for everybody who
- 9:42Speaker 2: loves the secret Ingredient. It just was not for me.
- 9:46Speaker 2: It was not for me.
- 9:47Speaker 1: And we love.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Penny and ka Hill very much. I love both those actors.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I just didn't like this movie, and I apologize. But
- 9:56Speaker 2: I would also like to point out that I believe
- 9:59Speaker 2: it was Megan who.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Said, great, what bring it that?
- 10:05Speaker 2: You said that Brittain Penny's character was trying to break
- 10:07Speaker 2: out of the patrie chefniche And that's why I bought
- 10:12Speaker 2: the diner. So that Steve's criticism is of you love
- 10:18Speaker 2: that one, but everything.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Else, but you did, you did only what is this
- 10:22Speaker 1: bozoa about fried chicken line?
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yes it was all right, Yes it was so great.
- 10:26Speaker 2: The blame is shared equally.
- 10:36Speaker 1: All right, Lisa email, that's about Jen Lilly.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Oh No, I don't know if I can take it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Okay, Well, look, she sent honestly quite a long, thoughtful
- 10:46Speaker 1: email about yeah, with her thoughts on Jen Lily. I
- 10:51Speaker 1: do want to read this. I'm not gonna read the
- 10:52Speaker 1: whole thing, but I want to read one part. She says.
- 10:55Speaker 1: A few years ago, I got to be an extra
- 10:56Speaker 1: and a Great American Family Christmas movie with her, and
- 11:00Speaker 1: at one point it was really late and I got
- 11:01Speaker 1: to sit next to her and I told her how
- 11:03Speaker 1: much I loved her Hallmark movies. She said she felt
- 11:07Speaker 1: like she didn't get the exposure on Great American Family
- 11:09Speaker 1: that she got on a Hallmark channel. She said she
- 11:11Speaker 1: was very nice and said that she went to Great
- 11:13Speaker 1: American Family because she has a strong faith and she
- 11:15Speaker 1: wanted to help make a channel focused on faith more popular.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Then she said she was not in alignment with some
- 11:21Speaker 1: of the things that were being said and promoted on
- 11:23Speaker 1: Great American Family. So that's helpful for me to hear.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Lisa sends a follow up email and she says, I
- 11:30Speaker 1: got caught up on your podcast today, so I was
- 11:32Speaker 1: looking for an old episode to listen and I heard
- 11:34Speaker 1: your review of Mingle all the way. Sorry, Lisa Man,
- 11:39Speaker 1: it was brutal. Lol. I am not ever watching it
- 11:43Speaker 1: again because I, like Megan, have fond memories and I
- 11:46Speaker 1: don't want to.
- 11:47Speaker 2: F that up.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I also listened to the Guiding Emily episode and it
- 11:51Speaker 1: was great. It amazes me the things you guys see
- 11:53Speaker 1: that I don't. I tried to find your review of
- 11:55Speaker 1: my Christmas Guide, but I was driving. Maybe you didn't
- 11:58Speaker 1: review it. We have not. If you didn't, you should.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I think the actor who played the blind man is
- 12:03Speaker 1: blind irl, but I'm not sure. I really liked it.
- 12:05Speaker 1: But I like Mingle too. Lol. She finishes by saying,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I also wanted to say that in order to be
- 12:11Speaker 1: able to tell you guys apart by voice, I had
- 12:13Speaker 1: to watch one of your interviews with Kimberly Sastad. But
- 12:16Speaker 1: now I don't have any trouble. That's a follow up
- 12:19Speaker 1: to our can you Tell Who's Who? Question?
- 12:22Speaker 2: That We Yeah, yeah, I think our voices sound totally different.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I do too.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I also wanted to add, we have so many videos
- 12:31Speaker 2: on our YouTube channel if you like, if you go
- 12:35Speaker 2: to look at it, what is the This is how
- 12:38Speaker 2: often I post over there.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I don't is.
- 12:40Speaker 2: It Girls gone Hallmark on YouTube or Megan and Wendy.
- 12:44Speaker 1: It was once upon a time long story short. But
- 12:50Speaker 1: if you just search girls on Hallmark YouTube, it might
- 12:52Speaker 1: need to be linked in our show notes and if
- 12:54Speaker 1: it's not, we should add it. But if you just
- 12:55Speaker 1: search girls on Hallmark YouTube, it will pull up our
- 12:58Speaker 1: YouTube channel. There are nine one hundred seventy eight videos there. However,
- 13:03Speaker 1: many of those are podcast episodes audio files. Yeah, our
- 13:07Speaker 1: podcast is distributed over there. But if you click on videos,
- 13:12Speaker 1: you could either scroll back through hundreds and hundreds of
- 13:14Speaker 1: podcast episodes, or you can click on playlists.
- 13:18Speaker 2: You will see there a library.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Of videos, sixty second reviews, pop culture favorites, everyday makeup collection,
- 13:28Speaker 1: clean with Me videos?
- 13:30Speaker 2: This was like what year were reading two thousand fifteen.
- 13:36Speaker 1: There's our binge Worthy playlist, Taste Test Week playlist, monthly goals, favorites, videos,
- 13:41Speaker 1: mom dilemmas in the kitchen videos, Oreo tastes. There are
- 13:46Speaker 1: hundreds of videos of the two of us from our
- 13:49Speaker 1: earlier days on YouTube. So I almost wonder should we
- 13:53Speaker 1: do on Instagram like a YouTube video of the week
- 13:56Speaker 1: and just post like a link likes.
- 13:59Speaker 2: No, all right, I'm just afraid mom, we could. I guess,
- 14:04Speaker 2: well you sure?
- 14:04Speaker 1: When not?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Well, there's some real gems over there, real funny stuff.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I think so too. This is before we got into Hallmark. Obviously,
- 14:13Speaker 2: we were just doing other stuff.
- 14:15Speaker 1: We showed the YouTube channel in the beginning of twenty twenty,
- 14:19Speaker 1: deciding to pivot, and it wasn't until later that year
- 14:23Speaker 1: that we would launch our first podcast, Long Story Short
- 14:25Speaker 1: with Megan and Wendy, which gave birth to Girls CLLL Homewark. Yeah,
- 14:29Speaker 1: it's there, tons of information.
- 14:30Speaker 2: We'll link it and then you can say who who,
- 14:34Speaker 2: what voice is coming from.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Then you'll know which chick. Then you'll know, hopefully.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Paula writes in regarding Jen Lily, she says, you knew
- 14:46Speaker 2: I would jump in on this. About a year ago
- 14:48Speaker 2: I posted about a Gin Lily jag I was on.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I got some positive feedback, especially when I was surprised
- 14:54Speaker 2: there was no Gin Lily page on Hallmark. Plus, this
- 14:57Speaker 2: was before I knew that her and I would never
- 15:01Speaker 2: go to brunch together. I think in a later post
- 15:03Speaker 2: you mentioned your disdain for her. I do like her movies, though,
- 15:07Speaker 2: here are my faves and no particular order. I'm gonna
- 15:10Speaker 2: pause right there. Disdain is a strong one.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I agree. I don't think that's accurate. Her movies haven't
- 15:16Speaker 1: hit for you.
- 15:16Speaker 2: They basically that's basically. It's complicated. But if we just
- 15:21Speaker 2: get down to like the movies, they just haven't hit
- 15:25Speaker 2: for me. Here's Paula's list Winter, Love Story, Paris, Wine
- 15:30Speaker 2: and Romance in parentheses, not chocolate. She is referring to
- 15:35Speaker 2: a little we had a You know, some of these
- 15:38Speaker 2: names are so similar. The list goes on, Yes, Comma,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I do A little daytime Drama, Harvest Love, A Dash
- 15:46Speaker 2: of Love, Eat Play Love, Love Unleashed, Mingle all the way.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Have you watched any of those movies?
- 15:53Speaker 1: A little daytime Drama? We have watched Mingle all the way.
- 15:56Speaker 1: We have watched I don't know if I've seen any
- 15:58Speaker 1: of the others. A little daytime Drama's pay Thee. I
- 16:02Speaker 1: don't remember highlight it or not. It was a long
- 16:04Speaker 1: time ago we watch that, right, Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Paula goes on to write, I couldn't watch the USS Christmas.
- 16:10Speaker 2: You know how critical I am of Hallmark's treatment of
- 16:13Speaker 2: the Army and Marines. I am more critical of their
- 16:17Speaker 2: treatment of the Navy.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Thanks Paula. And next up, Marry emails with the question
- 16:21Speaker 1: post to us about love at Hope Ranch. Did you
- 16:24Speaker 1: know the actors who played Tom and Laurie are married
- 16:27Speaker 1: in real life?
- 16:29Speaker 2: I did not good for them. That's exciting.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Yes, so those actors are Scott Martin and Stephanie Burn
- 16:37Speaker 1: playing Tom and Laurie, and of course they are a
- 16:39Speaker 1: love interest in that movie. Didn't know it?
- 16:43Speaker 2: That makes me feel better?
- 16:44Speaker 1: Actually brand new information.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Mackie writes in regarding generally, Hey, if you guys
- 16:49Speaker 2: don't know, Mackie Decil work for us and she's incredible,
- 16:53Speaker 2: So shout out Mackie. That's right, she writes, Hi, Wendy,
- 16:57Speaker 2: this is in response to my call for genally movies.
- 17:00Speaker 2: We've we seem to share the same mixed feelings about
- 17:02Speaker 2: generally returning to Hallmark. The highest that I've rated a
- 17:05Speaker 2: movie of hers is three out of five stars, and
- 17:08Speaker 2: the two titles that I rated three stars are Winter
- 17:11Speaker 2: Love Story co starring Kevin McGary and A Dash of
- 17:14Speaker 2: Love co starring Brendan Penny. Although they're both very traditional,
- 17:18Speaker 2: I find them enjoyable enough. I mean, like I could
- 17:22Speaker 2: give a dash of love Brendan Penny is enough for
- 17:25Speaker 2: me to tune in, even Kevin McGary. Yeah, so you
- 17:29Speaker 2: guys are all over the board with these genuinely movies
- 17:31Speaker 2: though like I haven't, there's not.
- 17:33Speaker 1: One that's like you haven't watched this one?
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Well, I think it makes sense perhaps to watch Paris
- 17:39Speaker 1: winean romance, since the co stars are the same, since
- 17:43Speaker 1: she and Dan jen Ot are and that together, and
- 17:44Speaker 1: that's what they'll be in together later this month. Our
- 17:47Speaker 1: final email is from Lisa regarding Murdoch Mysteries on Hallmark Plus.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I hear a lot of people complaining about the old
- 17:55Speaker 1: reruns and non Hallmark originated programs, and I get it.
- 17:58Speaker 1: How many times do we have to see Gold and
- 18:00Speaker 1: Girls repeats when it's on other channels? But since I
- 18:03Speaker 1: have given up complaining and condemnation for lent much more
- 18:06Speaker 1: spiritually beneficial than giving up chocolate. I love this email.
- 18:10Speaker 1: I want to say how much I am enjoying the
- 18:12Speaker 1: Murdoch Mysteries even though it's from two thousand and eight.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I don't know about you, but I could just stare
- 18:16Speaker 1: at Yanik Bison's amazing eyelashes forever. Maybe we could get
- 18:21Speaker 1: him to guest star in a Hallmark movie as we
- 18:23Speaker 1: mature ladies need to see some smolder and older men
- 18:26Speaker 1: once in a while. Co sign, we actually need a
- 18:28Speaker 1: few more films where the leads are in their fifties
- 18:30Speaker 1: and beyond. What say you? I know you have little
- 18:33Speaker 1: influence over the artistic choices of Hallmark, but I'm sure
- 18:36Speaker 1: someone in their user experience department reads your work, so
- 18:39Speaker 1: keep it coming.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I love this email so much.
- 18:43Speaker 1: From Lisa Heini Forever, I'm gonna leave her last namail.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I love this email so much. There's so many
- 18:51Speaker 2: things I want to comment on. First of all, giving
- 18:52Speaker 2: up complaining and condemnation for lent. That needs to be
- 18:55Speaker 2: my New Year's resolution for.
- 18:56Speaker 1: The entire year, except I don't know what I would
- 18:59Speaker 1: do with myself.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I agree. Also, the murderch mysteries. Every time I turn
- 19:06Speaker 2: on Hallmark Plus, it feeds it to me and I'm like,
- 19:10Speaker 2: do I need to watch this? Is this my throw
- 19:12Speaker 2: on show? That like, I don't need to pay that
- 19:15Speaker 2: close attention to you because I'm not reviewing it. Well,
- 19:18Speaker 2: yesterday when I was watching Sugar and Vice, it just
- 19:20Speaker 2: fed right into a Murdoch buses. It did mine too,
- 19:22Speaker 2: I didn't watch.
- 19:23Speaker 1: It, but it wanted me to mine too.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Also, I agree us mature ladies need to see a
- 19:32Speaker 2: smoldering older man once in a while.
- 19:36Speaker 1: You know this is only some I related but the
- 19:39Speaker 1: not at all Hallmark friendly show DTF Saint Louis on
- 19:43Speaker 1: HBO Max. All four leads are in their fifties, which
- 19:48Speaker 1: I love. I just wanted to say, like, we don't
- 19:51Speaker 1: get a lot of that. No, And they look like
- 19:55Speaker 1: they're in their fifties.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, there's nothing wrong with.
- 19:58Speaker 1: That, Like they have their original face.
- 20:01Speaker 2: We've talked about this a lot. We like the second
- 20:05Speaker 2: chance romance movies. We like a cast a little mature.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I like it all, Like, give me the young up
- 20:14Speaker 2: and comers, give me the hot smoldering men and women both.
- 20:20Speaker 2: But I feel like anybody of a certain age, and
- 20:24Speaker 2: I love her to death. Barbara Nevin, like she's checking
- 20:28Speaker 2: that box on there, Like I, where is she plus old? Yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 2: she's in the new Lacey Shubar movie.
- 20:36Speaker 1: She's in Hanna's Winds and she's like, Barbara Nevan is
- 20:39Speaker 1: the best, but there's no one else her age.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I'm looking at you like with a big question mark
- 20:44Speaker 2: my face, and let's talk about the dudes, like, give
- 20:48Speaker 2: me a fifty year old dude, Give me a Gregory Harrison,
- 20:51Speaker 2: where are you Like he's in his seventies, but.
- 20:58Speaker 1: It still looks good. I think we got actually quite
- 21:00Speaker 1: a few Hallmark dudes in there. Well, do you think
- 21:02Speaker 1: Victor Ropster is in his fifties?
- 21:03Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't, I wouldn't, I don't want
- 21:06Speaker 2: to guess. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. But like,
- 21:10Speaker 2: if you are like play in your fifties, you could
- 21:14Speaker 2: still be smoking hot in your fifties. I'm tired of
- 21:18Speaker 2: seeing hot dudes of a certain age.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Relegated to the grandfather role, or.
- 21:24Speaker 2: They're trying to get married for the first time to
- 21:27Speaker 2: a thirty year old I just can we just can't?
- 21:31Speaker 1: Can we something?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Can we? We want to all cross all age ranges?
- 21:37Speaker 2: I don't know. That's where I'm at right now.
- 21:39Speaker 1: All right, Well, that's a wrap on this month's Listener mailbag,
- 21:42Speaker 1: although you know it is still early so if those
- 21:45Speaker 1: emails come pouring in and voicemails, you may get another
- 21:48Speaker 1: episode from us this month. Well back next time with
