- 0:00Yo, what did do we b b bite? Yes, sir yo,
- 0:06we were gonna kick off with that fantasy football chat story from last week,
- 0:11but I think that just might have been like the culmination of a drunk moment
- 0:15and we thought that it was like an epic story when it really wasn't.
- 0:20Pretty much. There was definitely details to it that was pertinent to the conversation
- 0:28last week, and it kind of just went off of the the vibe of
- 0:33like that entitlement and and how people feel like, you know, they they're
- 0:40able to do certain things without considering the consequences or the crowd, you know
- 0:45what I'm saying, Because we were in that a chat and then uh,
- 0:50somebody kind of came out of left field in the chat and started with like
- 0:55some racial stuff that was already building to that just from you know, previous
- 1:00tension that he had with people, and it just kind of ended up with
- 1:03like wow, man, like, how do you really just feel like you're
- 1:07in a situation where you can just say something like that and nobody's gonna address
- 1:11it? Yeah, mind you. This individual was kind of added to the
- 1:15track. I think we lost the guy and so this individual was added to
- 1:19the league and kind of just jumped into the league with that bullshit. You
- 1:23know. It was just kind of like, who is this guy? You
- 1:26know what I mean? So anyways, long story short, one person can
- 1:30ruin the whole vibe for a group of people. Keep that in mind.
- 1:34That's a fact, man, something that we preach all the time, like
- 1:38having control of your life and like even letting certain people in. Like people
- 1:42be thinking that that thing is like dramatic or something like, oh, cutting
- 1:47people off. You know, it ain't that serious, And it's like,
- 1:49man, if it's good to your life, it is that serious. You
- 1:53know what I'm saying. If it adds value to your life, and the
- 1:57elimates it certain eliminates a certain vibe that you just don't want to be around.
- 2:02And that's what it is. Yeah, I agree. Agree that people
- 2:08who feel they're too comfortable around you and you're not comfortable with them, you
- 2:13gotta do something about that. And what it was was a fucking white guy
- 2:17saying the N word. All right. He just came out of nowhere and
- 2:22felt like it was cool enough for him to slide it in a joke because
- 2:27he felt like the conversation just let him throw that joke off. We don't
- 2:30even fuck with you like that boy. Facts. Anyway, back to the
- 2:39good stuff, because it's been a hell of a week. It's been a
- 2:42hell of a little run even and uh, if you follow me on Instagram,
- 2:49you're seeing that I announced and me and my wife are opening a nel
- 2:53salon. Right attention to the podcast. I've been told talking about this thing
- 3:00for a little while. It's it's that thing that I haven't announced, you
- 3:05know what I mean. The reason being was because you know, we were
- 3:08still in the process of putting it together. I'm the type of person that
- 3:12owned like talking about stuff halfway, you know what I'm saying, Because it's
- 3:15been going on from you and working on that ship about six months, man,
- 3:19about six months dog. But just so happened somebody told the place that
- 3:25my wife was working at that she's opening her own salon. So she walked
- 3:30in on Tuesday and they was like see yo, and we were like,
- 3:32damn, what's going on? And we were able to pivot, you know,
- 3:37found a spot for her to be able to continue and keep her clients.
- 3:39She was able to announce the shop and show pictures of what's going on,
- 3:44and everybody's been super supportive and has basically told her, hey, we're
- 3:47following you. You know what I'm saying. She's super dope. She's been
- 3:51working extra hard at this and just building up her skill and her clientele and
- 3:54she's ready, man, And it was kind of like a blessing and this
- 4:00guys. But at the same time, she did have to, you know,
- 4:03build build it up, and build up a clientele and get that skill
- 4:08to get to this point. So it kind of just leads into the thing
- 4:11about like perseverance and time, and because that's a big thing that we've been
- 4:15kind of like coming across lately, especially even just when you even consider the
- 4:21podcast, Like when we started the podcast, we didn't really have so much
- 4:25of a plan as much as we just had a vibe and we knew we
- 4:29weren't gonna half acid, you know what I'm saying. So like that that
- 4:33whole I feel like even just being on point with the podcast has helped us
- 4:41kind of have like a guide or at least a reference point of like the
- 4:45stuff we're doing in our personal lives, like how we're progressing with it,
- 4:47you know what I mean, Because you know, when you come back to
- 4:50the table again, it's like, what do you have to talk about from
- 4:55the point of view of this is the ground to show. So what we're
- 4:58talking about is like real life stuff, you know, things that you could
- 5:01really take away in your everyday life. And if we're not out there basically
- 5:06living there, we don't got nothing to talk about, you know what I'm
- 5:09saying. So it's just been a crazy time, like for everybody starting with
- 5:15what I'm talking about. You know, we're just embarking into a new chapter.
- 5:21It's something that we've been planning for a while ever since my wife that
- 5:26you know, when my wife told me she was unhappy with what she was
- 5:29doing previously, I'm like, okay, so what we're gonna do about it?
- 5:30You know what I'm saying. The nails thing has always been something that
- 5:33interested her. So I was like, you know, go to school full
- 5:38time, do your thing. It's a short program and then you hit the
- 5:42ground running. And she's you know, been on top of it all the
- 5:46way through. And when she brought up to us having a salon thing.
- 5:49To me, I was like, hey, I mean, we can make
- 5:50it happen if you're serious about it, and you you know, you hit
- 5:55these benchmarks that you have internally, you know, we make it happening,
- 5:58and it's just been you know, blessing after blessing slash. You know,
- 6:02things have just been falling our way. But it comes down to that perseverance.
- 6:06If we're not on that path doing we're supposed to be doing and making
- 6:11sure we're making stuff happen, those situations aren't going to fall in off.
- 6:15Yeah, And that's why I kind of want to ask you, like your
- 6:17reaction to hearing that that they found out and they let it go. Was
- 6:21your immedia reactions, like you're it kind of like a reflex like, oh,
- 6:26well, we're prepared for this kind of thing, you know. And
- 6:29that's what it comes back to the time. Did you feel like, oh,
- 6:31well, that's fine because we got this. Um. I definitely had
- 6:35to work through it in my head, and you know what I'm saying,
- 6:38Like at first, I'm like, it caught me off guard, just from
- 6:40the point of view of like you don't expect it, you know what I
- 6:43mean. But you know, pretty much I'm like, all right, we
- 6:46already got a lot of the supplies, like damn near everything for the salon.
- 6:50You know what I'm saying. She has her license she has um you
- 6:56know, the I don't know if it's technically a permit or whatever, but
- 6:59she has the ability to still continue to do nails even if it's traveling at
- 7:03a different location. You know. Like so I'm like, all right,
- 7:06so how are we gonna make it happen? You know? And I told
- 7:10her, Hey, you know, we have the business bank account, and
- 7:15I was like, hey, take this, go get everything that you need.
- 7:17She got everything that she needed. We were man that that day was
- 7:20crazy though, because we were basically all day. You know. She found
- 7:24that out around nine thirty in the morning and we ain't stopping until like twelve
- 7:27thirty that night. You know what I'm saying, just preparing to let her
- 7:31be able to continue seeing her clients and make sure that we're going to be
- 7:34good in the meantime, you know what I'm saying. And everything just worked
- 7:40out. But I'm saying it worked out, letting you know that we were
- 7:44all day long working you know what I'm saying, Yeah, it ain't just
- 7:46work out, you know, you worked it out, yeah, exactly.
- 7:49And we made it so that the next day we were set up and ready
- 7:53to go, and she's already like in her full routine, and it's like
- 7:57nothing ever happened, you know what I'm saying. She's just ready to open
- 7:59the spot as soon as, you know, the last couple of steps are
- 8:03done. But it's just it's a funny thing because you know, me being
- 8:09somebody that I don't have like a traditional job. It's like, I have
- 8:13a business with my father in law, and now I have this business with
- 8:16my wife, and I'm just expanding into the idea of trying to get my
- 8:24hands and more things, just to be a little more connected to whatever I
- 8:30need. And just I'm just trying to elevate my way of thinking when it
- 8:35comes to how I make my money and not being tied into one thing,
- 8:39you know what I'm saying, Because even that whole situation, let me know,
- 8:43like like wow, we could really like just put our heads together and
- 8:46make something happen because of the freedom we already have in the fact that we
- 8:50don't work for anybody, what I'm saying, So just you know, operating
- 8:54from that point of view, and just the fact that we already just hard
- 8:58working, you know what I'm saying, we were able to make it happen,
- 9:01and like you said, you know, just real quick, I'll let
- 9:03you finish. But but like you were saying, you know, working for
- 9:07somebody, and obviously Joe and I we're both employees, you know what I'm
- 9:11saying. We're not knocking it, but working for somebody, you know,
- 9:13that situation or something similar to that would have taken minimum two to three weeks.
- 9:20And that's you going home, getting an interview tomorrow, getting the job,
- 9:24going through the hiring process, just for you to get back on track
- 9:28of getting a paycheck, you know what I'm saying. And you said in
- 9:30the beginning, this happened Tuesday, and this Thursday evening, you know what
- 9:33I'm saying. So even that flexibility is dope within itself. Yeah, And
- 9:39I was just even happy that I was able to kind of pivot my day
- 9:43and kind of push whatever I had to do that day to the next day
- 9:46so that I could help her out. You know, like even just the
- 9:48fact that I didn't have a regular gig, it made me available to help
- 9:54her out to figure out her things so that we could prepare for the next
- 9:56day. And it kind of went off without a hitch, both in both
- 10:01cases, you know what I'm saying. So you know this whole thing is
- 10:07not specifically just about working for yourself or starting a business or whatever. It's
- 10:11just about persevering and making it work for you and making sure that you got
- 10:16a plan so that while you're working towards it, when the time comes,
- 10:20you're ready for it. You know what I'm saying, because I know plenty
- 10:26of people that just for whatever reason, I'm not I'm not gonna lie,
- 10:28it's not plenty of people. I can only honestly think about like two or
- 10:31three people off the top of my head. But I know a couple of
- 10:33people that they just get opportunities bro Like it always just falls in their lap.
- 10:39They might go to the gas station or something that like things that I've
- 10:41seen. It's like they'll go to the gas station, somebody sees them,
- 10:45Hey I like your shoes. Hey you're looking for a job. I got
- 10:48this gig over here, you know, related to what you like. And
- 10:52it's like, what the heck? Like you think those things only happen in
- 10:54the movies or whatever. But I know like a couple of people that I
- 10:58see that kind of stuff happening to them and see them just not follow through
- 11:03and not have not given any importance and just see them kind of just in
- 11:07the same cycle and not noticing these opportunities are there. It's just you ain't
- 11:11working brom Yeah, No, that's facts. I mean I think we all
- 11:16kind of see that in you know, our own kind of ways as far
- 11:20as people that we deal with, and it tells you a lot about a
- 11:24person in their character, you know what I mean. Like, I'm not
- 11:26saying everybody should be as driven I feel like as the three of us are.
- 11:30But at the same time, you know something, I feel like all
- 11:35of us are kind of you know, eager for opportunities like that, and
- 11:39you know, we gotta work like extra hard to get where we're at,
- 11:43you know. And honestly, I don't even think um driven is the right
- 11:46word. I just feel like a lot of people and it's something that happened
- 11:50with me in music that Freddie helped me kind of figure out. It's like,
- 11:54bro, you you need to have a goal in this, you know
- 11:56what I'm saying. It's like you need to say, oh, I'm in
- 11:58music because of this, and I want this out of it, you know
- 12:01what I'm saying. Just even analyzing that because like sometimes people imagine like their
- 12:07dream is like to be the CEO of a fortune five hundred company. And
- 12:11it's like, Bro, that's not a plan, you know what I'm saying.
- 12:13That's not an idea. That's just a lofty aspiration that you have that
- 12:18you have not worked towards. You know what I'm saying. It's something something
- 12:26within certain people makes them feel like pretending like they want more is the thing
- 12:37they need to do instead of actually trying to have more, you know what
- 12:41I mean. It's like I've mentioned it before on the podcast, and it's
- 12:45a really big thing just my life. Bro, I hate, hate,
- 12:48hate being around people that just want a daydream, that just want to sit
- 12:52around and be in a circle and talk about things that don't even make sense,
- 12:56you know what I mean. It happens to a lot of music too.
- 12:58You know, you record a song and people want to sit around and
- 13:01and lay down the plot of a million dollar music video. It's like,
- 13:05Bro, we got a thousand dollars for this video, So we're going to
- 13:07spend the next three hours talking about Justin Bieber or are we going to spend
- 13:11the next three hours figuring out what we can do in this immediate situation?
- 13:15You know what I hate seeing is when I see the little post you know
- 13:18what I'm saying on social media or whatever that's like, you know, forty
- 13:22million cash or twenty thousand for the every day for the rest of your life.
- 13:28And then you're going and you see the comments everybody's debating it, and
- 13:31it's just like, bro, like you really sitting here arguing about a daydream?
- 13:33Like are you kidding me? Yeah? Yeah. It's kind of like
- 13:37the classic lot of conversation. You know, everybody's been in that situation where
- 13:43you're sitting around, somebody brings it up and everybody you know, somehow it
- 13:46turns into everybody sharing their thing. It's like, I never ever ever take
- 13:50part in that conversation. Bro. It's like, I don't. It kind
- 13:54of goes back to something I heard a long time ago that I don't even
- 13:56know where I heard it from, but I just it stuck with me so
- 14:00much of like, you don't waste your own time talking to you, don't
- 14:05waste your own time talking to somebody about something they can't help you with.
- 14:11You know what I'm saying, Like, I'm not gonna sit here and have
- 14:13a conversation with somebody and tell them my problems or due X, Y and
- 14:16Z, whatever the case is. If it's not if me talking, it's
- 14:20not gonna help me move forward. I'm not gonna entertain it, you know
- 14:26what I'm saying. It's like, of course there's certain situations where you just
- 14:30vent and stuff like that, but you gotta be at least me. This
- 14:33is just my thinking of it. But you gotta be selective, man,
- 14:35you know what I'm saying. Like, you're not gonna vent to eight people
- 14:39in your life. You might vent to like one or two and make sure
- 14:43it's in the right context, you know what I'm saying. But you're not
- 14:46gonna do that with every single person and then do nah. Bro, Like
- 14:50these the conversations you have with people, there should be forward progress in every
- 14:58conversation if it's full, you know, if it's forwarding your relationship, your
- 15:03friendship, your business relationship, if you're building, whatever it is. Everything
- 15:07should be pushing you forward. Anything that's just there as a distraction, Bro,
- 15:11Like those conversations and these hypotheticals and all this. Oh man, if
- 15:16would you want forty dollars a minute or what you want? You know,
- 15:20every one of your hairs to turn into a Penny bro Shut takes a lot
- 15:28of brain energy to really care about talking about something like that, and I
- 15:33don't trying to care about little shit like that. Yeah, it's like people
- 15:35get into this, like and it goes into like the AI and the and
- 15:39the what's it called the virtual reality and stuff like where people will talk like
- 15:46you said, quency, they're arguing about that situation. It's a fake situation,
- 15:50and they put themselves in it and started creating more problems from the fake
- 15:54question, and now they're going back and forth trying to bro If you spend
- 15:58any of this time creative problem solving the real things that are going on in
- 16:02your life, you might actually think about this question later, like facts.
- 16:10And it's like it's the thing where not everybody got to be looking for,
- 16:15you know, a billion dollars or you know, you know, it's not
- 16:18about oh, you gotta reach for like the ultimate ultimate because I don't believe
- 16:22in that either, you know what I'm saying, Like, not everybody is
- 16:26meant to, you know, only sleep two or three hours a night because
- 16:30they're just spending all their other time, you know, in the hustle and
- 16:33bustle of trying to make money and stuff like some people that don't fulfill them.
- 16:36Like you know what I'm saying, Like we're in like a culture where
- 16:38it's like everything is all get the bag, Oh it's money. Oh,
- 16:41don't don't spend your time unless you're making money, And it's like that's not
- 16:47the end all be all, you know what I'm saying, Like everything is
- 16:48not about how you can make a dollar, especially when you know it's not
- 16:53something that's gonna get you to any kind of enlightenment or any kind of place
- 16:59where you feel like you're complete just because you got some money, right,
- 17:03and you can't take it with you facts. I always think about the nas
- 17:08Line man and I think it was a Nazis like where he's like just talking
- 17:14about like the Pharaohs and he's just been stuff like, um, you're talking
- 17:17about you can't take it with you? Is like Richmond died and tried,
- 17:19but none of it worked. They just robbed your grave, you know what
- 17:22I'm saying, regardless of what you think, Like you know, these dudes
- 17:26literally had their whole you know, people and slaves to build their freaking shrine
- 17:32after they died and so they can be buried with all the stuff and all
- 17:34they did was just come through after you know, who's gonna stop them getting
- 17:38there? You know what I'm saying. And it's just it's something like to
- 17:45me, that's that's real. Um, it's like real. It's like a
- 17:48real pollutant to me, you know what I'm saying, Like drowning your mind
- 17:52and money, you know, because at the end of the day, it's
- 17:56it's nothing, you know what I'm saying, Like when you really break it
- 17:59down and it's literally just your you know, that's just your daily bread,
- 18:06you know what I'm saying, Like it's just another thing that has become the
- 18:10thing that you're basically chasing to sustain yourself, you know what I mean,
- 18:14Like your instinct to survive is replaced. Like most people don't think about how
- 18:18they get like like oh I'm hungry. They think I need to get money
- 18:22and then buy food, you know what I'm saying. Like people don't really
- 18:25think about it, like from the point of view, they're just hungry.
- 18:26They're just thinking about, all I need money so I can buy food.
- 18:29You know, right, it's like replaced that Like you know what I'm saying,
- 18:33it's replaced that instinct in us and now we're in that place where it's
- 18:37like everything is about money. Everything, Oh, you know, don't do
- 18:38nothing for free. And it's like like the people I know that have made
- 18:44it always got into something for free because it's like they understood that if you
- 18:49don't have nothing to offer and you're getting the offering in the situation, money
- 18:55is not the main thing, right, right, So people cut themselves off
- 19:02because everything got to be a home run, you know what I'm saying,
- 19:04even like with the business thing, like that's something that's really opened my mind.
- 19:07And shout out to my boy Jay. He actually like was the one
- 19:11that really introduced us to me like a few years ago, where it's like,
- 19:14bro, you can't you don't have to look at every situation like you
- 19:17gotta hit a home run and make you know, ten times a return or
- 19:21whatever. You know what I'm saying, some of the stuff you do is
- 19:23gonna you know, you're gonna double up. Some of the stuff you're gonna
- 19:26triple up. Some of the stuff you're just gonna make ten percent. You
- 19:29know what I'm saying. It's all income, you know, as long as
- 19:33you're not wasting your time and energy, like so much time and energy on
- 19:38the stuff that's not bringing you such a return. As long as the time
- 19:41put in matches what you're getting out of it, do it. You know
- 19:47what I'm saying. You don't always got to just you know, hit a
- 19:49home run and make a million dollars from the one thing you're trying to do,
- 19:52you know what I'm saying, Like, that's not gonna happen for a
- 19:55lot of people. That's why those stories are one in a million. Yeah,
- 19:57That's why these stories make it to that level. That's why you're hearing
- 20:02about it because it's not common. M big facts, big facts. Yep,
- 20:10it's again the lots for sure. Yeah, and then um, you
- 20:15know, it's just gonna wrap it up with this. It's like I'm gonna
- 20:19reiterate that it's not only about you know, working for yourself for you know,
- 20:26oh I'm I'm doing X, Y and Z to nah. You know,
- 20:32everything at the end of the day is what is your intention? What
- 20:36is your end goal? And how do you make the things in your life
- 20:38equal that, you know what I'm saying. I feel like the only thing
- 20:41that everybody can really take away from what I'm talking about is try to live
- 20:45beneath your means so that you're not you're not having to fund the lifestyle.
- 20:52You actually could fund your future. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 20:55you don't need to be having everything all crazy right now if you can pull
- 21:00back on that a little bit to be able to, you know, basically
- 21:03fund your dreams or fund whatever's going to really make you happy. You know
- 21:07what I'm saying. We talked about the last time too. It's like,
- 21:10I don't want a whole bunch of stuff sitting here, you know what I'm
- 21:11saying. I want things that are going to add to my overall happiness,
- 21:15the quality of my life, my future, and my kid's future, my
- 21:18wife's future. You know what I'm saying. Everything is not about just having
- 21:22stuff like and that goes back to the money thing. It's like you got
- 21:25to disconnect your stuff from that facts. It's a good message. But yeah,
- 21:32Quincy Um, I know that you've been kind of going through a similar
- 21:36situation and like the opposite side of the coin, but it's the same thing,
- 21:38you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I mean for me, it's
- 21:44it's it's funny because it's like that, like you said, it's the opposite
- 21:48side of the coin. You're speaking from, you know, more of an
- 21:51entrepreneur kind of mindset, and I'm speaking more from a climbing the corporate ladder
- 21:57kind of mindset, you know. And for me, you know, just
- 22:00to kind of in a nutshell, my situation is basically, I've been with
- 22:03my company for about three years, and you know, I've made a few
- 22:10moves within the organization, but nothing too major. But you know, my
- 22:12position that I'm in now and where I sit, I see things a lot
- 22:18different because you know, I'm not down here. I'm up here, even
- 22:22though the pay hasn't jumped that high, you know what I'm saying. But
- 22:25my position I can see a little different. And you know, one of
- 22:27the things that I'm seeing is that, you know, the company I'm with
- 22:30just has a lot of d I issues, a lot of people at the
- 22:33top. You know, they don't look like me. They don't look like
- 22:34you, Joe. I mean, they might look like you less but way
- 22:37lighter. But now, you know what I'm saying, like they just um,
- 22:42you know, they promote what they want to promote, and those people
- 22:45get the opportunities. And you know, I've been with the organization for about
- 22:49three years now. I've gone for a promotion five times, and every time
- 22:53I get you know, some vs excuse of you know why I didn't get
- 22:59it or whatever, and um but they always want like my presentation on my
- 23:03power point because I'm always putting them on game from things that I've learned in
- 23:06my experiences and um. So you know, long story short, Um,
- 23:11you know, I just got kind of fed up with the last situation because
- 23:12I kind of got was dealing with a lot of bull bull and um so
- 23:17I started looking for another job. And you know, I don't spend a
- 23:19lot of time on LinkedIn, but when I'm looking for another job, I'm
- 23:22on LinkedIn, you know, look, and I'm one there often and so
- 23:26uh, you know, I just happened to be scrolling one day and I
- 23:30saw that my company has a partnership with RASP Music University. And yeah,
- 23:40and um um, I tell you this two weeks ago. Had I seen
- 23:45that I would have kept scrolling, I wouldn't have my attention, wouldn't have
- 23:48you know, been triggered at all. But because I was so fed up
- 23:52and so pissed off, and you know, the couple of opportunities that I
- 23:56was receiving, didn't make sense for me to leave. You know, one
- 24:00thing I will say is my job does offer a great amount of flexibility which
- 24:03allows me to do my music the way I've been doing my music. So
- 24:07you know, I'm not gonna take that from them. But as far as
- 24:08growth opportunities, I didn't go to school and get in dad and get my
- 24:12masters to sit where I'm at for the rest of my life. That's just
- 24:15not why I went to school. Um. However, um, you know,
- 24:19they have a partnership with Rass Music University where basically, um, I
- 24:25can go back to school. Um one second, Okay, my bad,
- 24:29My bad. So however, you know, I basically noticed that they have
- 24:33a partnership and they will pay for my education for me to go back to
- 24:41school. You know what I'm saying, because of the situation that I have
- 24:44with my current employer, it would be free schooling and I would get my
- 24:48masters and human resources management, yeah of course, But I mean that's that's
- 24:53not that's not an issue for me no more. It used to be.
- 24:56It used to be, but I'm a much better student now. But I'm
- 25:00just saying, like I had to wish a reimbursement too, but it's like
- 25:03you got you gotta get a grace to get that full repayment. Oh yeah,
- 25:06for sure. My last like uh six months or a year of my
- 25:11last program, I had to do the same. But basically the way I
- 25:15see it, and you know, and it's crazy, like just with a
- 25:17lineman and the timing of everything, because I reached out to the school on
- 25:21Friday and on um set up an appointment on Tuesday to the same day Leicester
- 25:26on Tuesday to talk to the advisor about it and excuse me, and you
- 25:33know, they requested my transcripts. They let me know that as long as
- 25:36I've met a certain GPA and you know, I met the requirements that I'm
- 25:40most like get in. By that evening, I got the acceptance letter and
- 25:47I'll be starting this program next week. I'm actually was doing the orientation before
- 25:49I got on this call, and so you know, it's just the timing
- 25:53of it is crazy. It'll take me a year to complete and I'm just
- 26:00gonna you know, tuck my head for the next year and do what I
- 26:02gotta do. And like you know, like Denzel said, hey man,
- 26:06they may not you know, give me the promotion, but I'm leaving him
- 26:07with something. I'm leaving him with something, you know, He's saying,
- 26:11like, so you know, I'm gonna do what I gotta do, get
- 26:14this up out of them, and then you know, we'll see what looks
- 26:15like for the next year. But you know, it's just being able to
- 26:18reposition and kind of change my mindset because like I said, two years ago,
- 26:22I mean two weeks ago, I wouldn't have even stopped bro I got
- 26:26you know what I'm saying. I did what I had to do in school.
- 26:27You know what I'm saying, I wouldn't have even considered it. But
- 26:30at this point, it's like why not, you know what I'm saying.
- 26:33If it's free, why not? Plus I ain't gotta pay my student loans
- 26:37for the next year and a half. So yeah, man, it's just
- 26:42you know, learn how to reposition yourself, you know what I'm saying,
- 26:45Utilize your resources that you got in front of you, and and make the
- 26:48situation work for you as best as you can, because you know, at
- 26:52the end of the day, you know a lot of people talk about,
- 26:56you know, their jobs and like they may work their way up. They
- 26:57may be a director or or CEO or whatever. But at the end of
- 27:02the day, bro, even if you're the man at the top, even
- 27:04if you're not the owner, Bro, you're still working for somebody and you're
- 27:07still being used, you know what I'm saying. So you got to make
- 27:11sure that situation works for you at the end of the day. Yeah,
- 27:15it's the idea that you're you're setting yourself up for a bigger leap, you
- 27:22know what I'm saying. It's that slingshot effect. You know what I'm saying,
- 27:23because you could have easily just made a lateral move out of anger,
- 27:29you know what I'm saying, Like you could have just said, you know
- 27:30what, forget these people, I'm gonna go this way and and hopefully work
- 27:34my way up over here. But he said, Nah, let me,
- 27:37like you said, I'm gonna come away with something. I'm gonna build myself
- 27:40up, build my resume, and whatever that next step is, it's gonna
- 27:44be better than this one. In fact, you know what I mean.
- 27:47And it's so easy for people to just make those lateral moves out of like
- 27:51spide or just you know, because they feel in a certain type of way.
- 27:53I'm just you know, oh man, I'm out of here, forget
- 27:56y'all. You know what I'm saying. But it's like, you know,
- 28:00and it goes back to like a big thing that's come up lately just because
- 28:03of the situation that I've been talking about, you know, with people in
- 28:08my own life, you know, they're they kind of get this kind of
- 28:14I don't know if maybe I'm putting off the vibe or something, but like
- 28:17I get this kind of like, oh, like, you know, you
- 28:19know, you don't have to be an entrepreneur to you know, make stuff
- 28:25happen and everything like that. It's like, that's not the point of what
- 28:26I'm saying. It's as long as you're coming from the mindset of knowing how
- 28:30important your life is to you and just knowing, Yo, this is my
- 28:34daily situation. How can I make it the best situation that I can?
- 28:38As well? As you're doing that, you're winning, you know what I'm
- 28:41saying. For some people, it's in a job, for some people it's
- 28:44being an entrepreneur. For some people it's not even doing either one. You
- 28:48know what I'm saying, Like, there's just so many ways to attack it.
- 28:52And everybody, like we always talk about everybody's just got different ways of
- 28:55thinking and ways of doing things. That it's just like, you know,
- 28:57do what you gotta do as long as you ain't hurting nobody, and you
- 29:00you're moving in that forward motion, you know, make it happen. And
- 29:04like I said, it's like because I used a shout out to Freddie again,
- 29:07I use an analogy with him. Like, you know, sometimes I'm
- 29:11going up to Georgia to like sequency or something, and I'll pass by like
- 29:15a little small house like in the corner in the middle of nowhere, and
- 29:18the house might be a little beat up, and I think to myself,
- 29:21like dang, Like imagine that person, like imagine living there, and then
- 29:25your mind just closed off to the idea that the world is bigger than this,
- 29:29you know what I'm saying. But at the same time, I'm not
- 29:33saying that you can't just live there and be happy. You know what I'm
- 29:36saying. Some people's minds are open, but that's their happiness, you know
- 29:40what I'm saying. As long as you keep it real with yourself and you
- 29:42live into the best of your own life and ability, at the end of
- 29:45the day, you're the one that's living in that person in that little house
- 29:49that I look at as rinky dink might be infinite times happier than me and
- 29:56happier than I'll ever get to. You know what I'm saying, You just
- 29:59never know. You know, it's not judging the situation just based off that.
- 30:02It's just the the literal geographic part of it is what sets me off.
- 30:08You know what I'm saying. It's like, dang, imagine if you're
- 30:11just in this small town and you just never think that you can leave,
- 30:15you know what I'm saying. And there's plenty of people that are also just
- 30:17trapped in that mindset, like they just don't think that they can, Like
- 30:21they see a place on TV and they just can't even imagine themselves ever getting
- 30:23to that place, not knowing it's literally you just make arrangements to go,
- 30:27and you go, you know what I'm saying. Even like certain people like
- 30:32me and Quincy was laughing because like something came up on a popular page you
- 30:37know, in the city about like certain you know, people doing stuff and
- 30:41it's like, bro, like if you take a picture somewhere or in front
- 30:45of something, like that's all you did, you know what I'm saying,
- 30:48Like you didn't do anything. You're just showing that you went to that place,
- 30:52you know what I mean. That's not necessarily a move, Like it's
- 30:53literally a move, and I hope you had a good time, but it
- 30:56doesn't mean that you did something, you know what I mean. And that's
- 31:00kind of like the whole thing about daydreaming and stuff too. It's like,
- 31:03you know, what are you actually like, how are you actually moving your
- 31:07feet forward to make stuff happen. Everybody's working towards something, you know.
- 31:15Everybody's working towards something, for sure, And it depends if you're saying they're
- 31:19working for it or you're hoping it comes to you. It is how the
- 31:23outcome turns out. And that's how you relate to people, people who are
- 31:26just working as hard as you to get to strive to get what they want.
- 31:30Yeah, And I'm always just like, it's always funny to me the
- 31:34idea that there's people out here that think other people should just care about their
- 31:38quality of their life, you know what I'm saying, Like, Bro,
- 31:41everybody's living their own life, nobody cares about what you've got going on,
- 31:45Like, you gotta make it happen, You gotta push the issue. You
- 31:48gotta be the one to say, hey, like I don't care what you're
- 31:52doing, I don't care what you want to do with your stuff, But
- 31:53for me, this is what I need and this is how it's going to
- 31:56happen, you know what I'm saying. And if you can't find that in
- 32:00the situation you're in, you need to figure out how to make it happen
- 32:02or how to put yourself in a different situation. But yeah, man,
- 32:10this this thing, um, the way things have been like unfolding in the
- 32:15last like six months or so, since we've been kind of um doing this
- 32:21this uh salon thing, it just really like open my eyes and just help
- 32:27me realize how I can utilize certain things, how I can really you know,
- 32:31like I said, you know, I'm always very focused on making my
- 32:36world the way that I wanted to be. You know what I'm saying,
- 32:38Like, I don't care what you got going on in yours, like as
- 32:42far as like outside people, you know, whatever makes you happy, that's
- 32:45cool. You know, I'm glad it makes you happy, But I'm here
- 32:47looking for what makes me happy. You know what I'm saying. Real talk,
- 32:55real talk, But yeah, man, it's it's been it's been a
- 32:59like, like I said, man, it's been a heavy week. Even
- 33:00before that, the energy has been heavy. Not in a bad way,
- 33:04but just you know, all of us have, Yeah, exactly. It's
- 33:07it's definitely one of those times in life where there's like a lot of things
- 33:10and and ups and downs and challenges that are coming, and you know,
- 33:15I'm just it's just dope to see like everybody that I'm around like handling and
- 33:21again shout out to Freddie one more time, and I'm going to kind of
- 33:23wrap up what I'm saying with this, But like Freddie was like, man,
- 33:28I don't even I don't even really consider like people that don't think that
- 33:30way. Like He's like, man, I didn't even think about the fact
- 33:32that there there's people that you know, take things to heart and have hard
- 33:37feelings over stuff and harbord certain type of emotion because maybe you told him no
- 33:42one time. He's like, he just don't operate like that, so he
- 33:44don't even think, Like Dan, I might have made somebody mad, you
- 33:46know, over something that's not even a real thing. It's just them taking
- 33:50it to heart, you know what I'm saying, And you gotta remember that,
- 33:52man, like people. People ain't doing stuff to you. You know
- 33:57what I'm saying, this is your life. You're doing stuff to yourself.
- 33:59You're year in control. M big facts, man, I ain't gon a
- 34:06lot of unless we haven't um signed off with this in a while. But
- 34:09man, let people know what you got going on. And you got a
- 34:13little couple of things going on this next couple of months or this next month.
- 34:16As far as drops, Oh yeah, yeah, my bad. Almost
- 34:21forgot man, But uh so I got a new song drop in July fourteenth
- 34:27called friend Zone. I'm really excited about that. One different vibe still,
- 34:31you know, it's still what you what you like from me, but it's
- 34:34definitely a different vibe, a lot of energy. I've been wanting to do
- 34:37a track like that and shout out to the homie man. My cool.
- 34:42He reached out to me from Mexico. You know, Um he heard I
- 34:45think Dear Mary Jane and he liked it. And we've just been working a
- 34:47lot of the Spanish stuff y'all heard, I mean all the from me.
- 34:51He's been the one doing it and shout out to unk. He just made
- 34:54this like Dancy club type of record. You know what I'm saying R and
- 34:59B dance type vives and and we just cooked it up and I thought of
- 35:04my coup right away, just because he got that vibe, you know what
- 35:06I'm saying. And he's been like getting me in that zone with the way
- 35:08he's been doing his mixes in the type of production he's been sending me.
- 35:13So it just came together Super Dope. And then July twenty eighth, shout
- 35:15out to the homie jah Med Man, I got a collab drop and called
- 35:19HOOPTI, which j'ah Med that we actually recorded a couple of years ago.
- 35:22I met him when I went out to La for sid matter of fact,
- 35:27shout out to side. He had a video shoot with jah Med, a
- 35:30joint that they did together. They shot that in La. Y'all make sure
- 35:34y'all go check that out. It's called and Delay super Dope, Si Nolai
- 35:37and jah Med. But you know, I've just been kind of holding this
- 35:40record just because this one and a couple of other ones that I actually got
- 35:45that aren't ready to drop here, but they're gonna be dropping real soon.
- 35:47I'm super excited. But like I've just been trying to get the situation right
- 35:52for certain songs because I got certain songs that I know need a certain kind
- 35:55of treatment and I need to do them a certain way, and at the
- 35:59time I wasn't at that level yet. But now it's that time, you
- 36:02know what I'm saying. So I'm really like, right now, I'm going
- 36:06into like my peak music season, like for the end of the year,
- 36:09and I'm gonna drop a whole bunch of dope stuff. So definitely be looking
- 36:12out for that full grandmo. Yes serious, Who's next? Man? Who's
- 36:19next? Yeah? Man, I got a few drops myself. Man,
- 36:22July is actually gonna be a pretty busy month for me music wise. Man.
- 36:24I got Throwbacks, which I recorded a couple of years ago, sat
- 36:30on it for a while, made a couple of tweaks to it. That
- 36:31was actually dropping at midnight tonight. I got Missing with ty Oh. He
- 36:37actually was featured on that Perfect record with Me and Lester that's dropping tonight as
- 36:42well. Got bigger things coming out on the fourteenth of July, and then
- 36:47I Ain't my Homies dropping on the twenty first of July, and then I
- 36:52got more stuff lined up for August, September, October. Man, I
- 36:54got some stuff rolling out man. And it's just exciting, man, because
- 36:59you know, to be able to kind of keep the consistency going, you
- 37:02know, that's always a good feeling. Man. I feel like, you
- 37:06know, the single drop thing has been the most productive. I've been with
- 37:08the music thing for a while, and I got three projects out, including
- 37:13hours, you know what I'm saying. So it's like it's exciting to see
- 37:15the progress yoss. As for me, I got more butt of the State
- 37:23with do Not Do Not
