Conquest Over Time - Michael Shaara
Pat Travis, a spacer known for his remarkable luck, faces an unprecedented challenge when he lands on a planet that relies on astrology for all significant decisions. Tasked with signing newly-Contacted human races to commercial contracts, he discovers he has arrived on one of the worst-aspected days in history, throwing his plans into disarray. Michael Shaara, who later gained fame for his Pulitzer-winning novel "The Killer Angels," penned this thought-provoking tale in 1956, exploring themes of fate, belief, and the unpredictability of luck.
