Eighteen lives vanished in eighteen separate crashes across Ohio over the July 2–5 holiday weekend — a sobering toll that’s forcing a hard look at preventable mistakes. Three victims weren’t buckled up, even with seatbelts available, and three motorcycle riders died without helmets — basic gear that could’ve saved them.
