- 1:19Speaker 1: think I am the standard. Oh okay, okay, I mean
- 1:25Speaker 1: you can find me at club. I have different the
- 1:29Speaker 1: point of okay, Yeah, I DJ y'all gotta give me

- 2:32Speaker 1: about who we have today because I feel like I'm
- 2:35Speaker 1: about to learn something. What about you that Arne? Yes,
- 2:37Speaker 1: I think the Lord is bringing some intellect and I'm
- 2:40Speaker 1: gonna pull on my notepack. I wish i'd want to
- 2:42Speaker 1: put my notebook up, because I did. But at least
- 2:45Speaker 1: we get to record this because I'm probably gonna take
- 2:47Speaker 1: notes when I watch it again. Listen, this young lady
- 2:50Speaker 1: is d lady, young, vibrant, holy ghost field. Let's let's
- 2:55Speaker 1: not let's not forget about that. But money, money, money,
- 2:58Speaker 1: miney mine. You talk about things sauce baby, that's come on.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I mean, she's she came into don't smelling like money,
- 3:07Speaker 1: looking like money, acting. I mean, it's just it's just
- 3:10Speaker 1: it's the embodiment. But I love how she keeps God first,
- 3:13Speaker 1: like at the end of the day, because she's like,
- 3:15Speaker 1: I wouldn't have this where I am without the Lord.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And so she is a wife, she is an entrepreneur.
- 3:23Speaker 1: She is also a podcaster, so she's creative, and so
- 3:27Speaker 1: I'm really excited. We we kind of go bite, We
- 3:29Speaker 1: kind of go bite, and we might talk about that
- 3:30Speaker 1: a little bit. But I have another, none other than
- 3:34Speaker 1: Courtney Miller in the building. What's up? Look at her,
- 3:38Speaker 1: give them a little glance at them earrings. Shout out
- 3:41Speaker 1: to girls. You said, you said, who alive? Oh man?
- 3:46Speaker 1: Those are so and it's almost it looks like the
- 3:49Speaker 1: what we used to do as a little girl when
- 3:51Speaker 1: we put the bees together.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yes, that's exactly how.
- 3:56Speaker 1: You have to give you ato now the big ey rings.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I'm trying to glide into the fashion team because I'm
- 4:01Speaker 1: a little basic. As you can see, you look like
- 4:04Speaker 1: I mean with my fashion, I'm still learning now those
- 4:08Speaker 1: Jeanes be freak. How you feeling this?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Man? I am good that look that intro, Lisa, We're
- 4:19Speaker 2: about to make it run?
- 4:21Speaker 1: What's the girl to introduce you a lot of times?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Put that on repleat.
- 4:26Speaker 2: That's gonna be my my music. I'm excited to be here.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Thank you for having me, and I'm excited about this episode.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I'm excited about this episode too because I really love
- 4:36Speaker 2: that the fact that God does things in his timing,
- 4:42Speaker 2: because just I've know. So let's let's give you a backstory.
- 4:46Speaker 2: So I've known Coordney. Uh.
- 4:49Speaker 1: We met in college the University of Alabama.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Okay, fact check me on me.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Okay, road tide baby, all right. Anyway, so we met
- 4:57Speaker 1: and we met under an organization called the Afro American Gods.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Required she danced for him his instruments of praise right,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and so we weren't just like cool or whatever, but
- 5:09Speaker 1: we knew who we like. That's that's fam like, that's
- 5:12Speaker 1: how we treated each other in this organization. So it
- 5:15Speaker 1: wasn't a lot of drama on my end, Like I
- 5:16Speaker 1: don't know if I'm lying or not, but on whatever, Look,
- 5:20Speaker 1: you know, I think i'd be fine to out Courtny.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So I'm like, I can't be saying that. I gotta
- 5:24Speaker 1: say it for myself. Yeah that I was like, I
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't know nothing about drama. So it was just a
- 5:29Speaker 1: free a free organization. Like we shout out to sell.
- 5:37Speaker 1: She kept us in check and she's still keeping folks
- 5:39Speaker 1: in chick, so shout out to her. But baby, First
- 5:42Speaker 1: of all, when Courtney used to be dancing, okay, every
- 5:47Speaker 1: we should have called him a demon, slaves Cardon was
- 5:52Speaker 1: outside coming for the folks, folks with two coming folks nixt.
- 5:55Speaker 1: So I shouldn't be surprised from what I saw there
- 5:59Speaker 1: until what I'm seeing now, Like I just I don't know.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I think I'm amazed. I think I'm amazed because to me,
- 6:06Speaker 1: you say like very quiet and you very reserved, but
- 6:10Speaker 1: now the light that you're in now I'm kind of
- 6:12Speaker 1: like I'm scared. Yeah, I'm scared. Are you surprised at you?
- 6:17Speaker 2: I think it's kind of always been in me. So
- 6:19Speaker 2: I of course grew up in church, but it wasn't
- 6:22Speaker 2: until I literally had to go through some things on
- 6:25Speaker 2: my own in college that made me kind of realize, hey,
- 6:28Speaker 2: court Andy, like you know, you got to have this
- 6:30Speaker 2: relationship on your own, like coming from well, I'm from Bestment.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Originally they're going to Birmingham and then my mom got
- 6:38Speaker 2: married and I ended up going to Birmingham City School.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So she was like, hey, you ain't going to Hoofman,
- 6:43Speaker 2: but you end up putting me the school. You put
- 6:45Speaker 2: me in one too much better from you know. So
- 6:49Speaker 2: I kind of got to a point where like life
- 6:52Speaker 2: was about to happen, Like I didn't know how I
- 6:54Speaker 2: was going to college. I didn't know how, you know,
- 6:56Speaker 2: things were going to kind of plan out. My family
- 6:58Speaker 2: to have you know, a lot they what they could,
- 7:02Speaker 2: so I really had to, you know, go to the
- 7:04Speaker 2: source about exactly what it was that I was supposed
- 7:07Speaker 2: to be doing. You know. Of course, at that age,
- 7:09Speaker 2: you know you kind of think you know what you're
- 7:11Speaker 2: going to do, but all of the time that's not
- 7:14Speaker 2: necessarily how your life is going to plan out for
- 7:16Speaker 2: me now I don't even use that degree. But back
- 7:19Speaker 2: to your question, it doesn't surprise me because I always
- 7:23Speaker 2: knew that there was something bigger in me. But when
- 7:27Speaker 2: I tapped into, like really really tapped into knowing God
- 7:30Speaker 2: for me, like, my life changed. So having the Afros
- 7:34Speaker 2: there to help kind of mold me, you know, that
- 7:40Speaker 2: was really the life changer for real. The fact that
- 7:42Speaker 2: there is a whole gospel choir in college at eighteen
- 7:47Speaker 2: nineteen years old, we're going on these conferences. I'm seeing
- 7:49Speaker 2: so many other kids, you know, really around the nation
- 7:55Speaker 2: that we're competing with, and they love God too, you know.
- 7:58Speaker 2: So it didn't really surprise me for real, because it's
- 8:01Speaker 2: you know, when it's in you, it's in you, you know,
- 8:03Speaker 2: it just takes something to bring it out.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I love I love that you said like it was
- 8:08Speaker 1: always in you to exude who you are now, like
- 8:13Speaker 1: to exemplify who you are now because and I'll be honest,
- 8:16Speaker 1: like even when we were in gospel choir, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 1: I don't know if you noticed about me or not,
- 8:19Speaker 1: but I'm PK. Yeah, I'm a PK. You've been in
- 8:22Speaker 1: PK for a long time, and so all I knew
- 8:24Speaker 1: was church. All I knew was that I needed to
- 8:26Speaker 1: get in something and I felt like I needed a
- 8:28Speaker 1: release and Afros was that release for me.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And it was just fun.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I still like friends with people now, and I believe you,
- 8:36Speaker 1: like I still talk to KC, you know, Philip and
- 8:38Speaker 1: our best friends on this got I see all the
- 8:41Speaker 1: all time on Facebook and stuff like that. So it's
- 8:43Speaker 1: just a it was a great healthy community. But I
- 8:46Speaker 1: have to be honest and say that I don't I
- 8:48Speaker 1: don't know. I think it it kept me from going
- 8:52Speaker 1: too far off, Like I think God used that as
- 8:56Speaker 1: a safety net for us, and some of the things
- 8:58Speaker 1: that we even did along, I'm like, wow, we could
- 9:00Speaker 1: have done that or we could have did this, So
- 9:02Speaker 1: we were doing that, Like wow, God you really kept
- 9:04Speaker 1: at a safe place for us, and so I'm grateful
- 9:08Speaker 1: that he does that. So you talked about an encounter,
- 9:12Speaker 1: Let's go let's go deeper into that, like everybody has
- 9:15Speaker 1: an encounter, Like I'm still trying to go about that.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Back down my line and say, okay, well which one
- 9:20Speaker 1: was that was considered the encounter? You know how holy
- 9:23Speaker 1: people like.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I can't stand Like.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I was like, can we just not get too supernatural
- 9:29Speaker 1: about it? Like it's some some some people story like that.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I'm not giving me wrong, but let's what it was
- 9:35Speaker 1: your encounter that just said, Okay, God, I gotta pivot,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I gotta I gotta make this turn. Oh.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I got a lot of them, but I think for me,
- 9:42Speaker 2: the main one was getting ready, So preparing for college.
- 9:48Speaker 2: My mama always say, hey, be careful, idea, you don't
- 9:50Speaker 2: want to She would always say, you don't want to
- 9:52Speaker 2: bring nothing back that you can't get rid of. She
- 9:54Speaker 2: always say, child, that sounds like like you. So I'm
- 9:59Speaker 2: over here. I like, okay, you know that, Like of course,
- 10:03Speaker 2: anything can happen to anybody, but they're like, that can't
- 10:05Speaker 2: happen to me, Like I got this something.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yeah, So I found.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Myself and it wasn't anything I couldn't get rid of.
- 10:13Speaker 2: But I did end up finding myself in a place
- 10:16Speaker 2: where I got caught up with someone that I knew
- 10:18Speaker 2: I shouldn't have been with, and he brought me something back.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And when I say that, like when people talk about
- 10:24Speaker 2: like depression, that was like my first depression or depressive episode.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I literally didn't eat. I had got down to ninety
- 10:32Speaker 2: nine pounds at nineteen years old. What ninety nine pounds?
- 10:37Speaker 2: I look back now on pictures and my neck like
- 10:39Speaker 2: I can literally look at and just see like everything
- 10:43Speaker 2: like like now it's you know, it's full. I gotta look.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I mean, I ain't too big, but I gotta love
- 10:47Speaker 2: you don't get you know, I can really see. I
- 10:51Speaker 2: could really see how my body was changing. Hair was
- 10:53Speaker 2: falling out. I wasn't eating, and it really wasn't because
- 10:56Speaker 2: of just the fact that I ended up contracting something.
- 11:01Speaker 2: It was the fact that that was the main thing
- 11:03Speaker 2: my mom was telling me, and I couldn't even call
- 11:05Speaker 2: her and tell her, you know, what was going on.
- 11:06Speaker 2: So I'm dealing with it bout myself. So I felt
- 11:09Speaker 2: like I was dealing with it about myself. So I
- 11:10Speaker 2: remember one day I ended up almost fainting in the shower,
- 11:15Speaker 2: end up going to the student health center. Never forget.
- 11:18Speaker 2: And it was in that time when like my blood
- 11:21Speaker 2: count was low. It was like I was like literally spiral,
- 11:24Speaker 2: like what is happening to my body? And I really
- 11:28Speaker 2: got to a point where I'm just like Okay, God,
- 11:31Speaker 2: like what am I doing here? Like is this time
- 11:34Speaker 2: for me to go home, Like, did I upset you? Like, like,
- 11:37Speaker 2: I know I'm doing stuff that I'm really supposed to
- 11:39Speaker 2: be doing, but you know, hey, I done heard about
- 11:42Speaker 2: grace all my life where it's the grace, you know,
- 11:45Speaker 2: So I got you up.
- 11:49Speaker 1: You can't run past that because that's probably one of
- 11:51Speaker 1: the really statements that people don't admit, you know what
- 11:56Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like, Yo, I know God, Yeah, I got
- 11:58Speaker 1: a relationship with God. Yeah, I'm talking to God. Did
- 12:00Speaker 1: everybody get grace with me?
- 12:02Speaker 2: Yeah? What do I do when I don't see it?
- 12:03Speaker 2: When I'm praying for people and they're getting healed and
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'm praying for healing and I ain't seen it? So
- 12:08Speaker 2: you know, so I got to a point where I'm literally, God,
- 12:11Speaker 2: you got to talk to me, like I really need
- 12:13Speaker 2: you here. So I kind of just really started honing
- 12:16Speaker 2: there really more on the f ROS. And you know,
- 12:20Speaker 2: it wasn't even like we had certain church services and
- 12:23Speaker 2: things like that, but it was just more of like
- 12:25Speaker 2: the community and just being around people and you know
- 12:28Speaker 2: that they're going through things the same way that you are.
- 12:30Speaker 2: So that was really the biggest thing for me to say, Okay, God,
- 12:35Speaker 2: if you help me here if you get like, just
- 12:36Speaker 2: give me my nine back, just giving my peace back.
- 12:39Speaker 2: You know, I wasn't eating. I was litle to cry
- 12:42Speaker 2: and every that's not me. I'm going in the shower.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I'm standing in the shower like like with my knees
- 12:47Speaker 2: to my chest, you know, like, what's what's happening here? Yeah?
- 12:51Speaker 2: So I think for me, like and it was, thank God,
- 12:55Speaker 2: it was something that you know, it was clear. You know,
- 12:57Speaker 2: I've never had anything again, but I think it was
- 13:00Speaker 2: just a wake up call where first of all, like
- 13:03Speaker 2: I said in the beginning, I knew I want supposed
- 13:04Speaker 2: to be messing with them anyway. So the fact that
- 13:08Speaker 2: you know who I've called you, you know who I've
- 13:10Speaker 2: called you to be, and you playing like you planning
- 13:12Speaker 2: on my name now, Like that's why I feel like
- 13:14Speaker 2: God's telling me you're planning my name now, You're planning
- 13:16Speaker 2: on my name. So you know, sometimes we have to
- 13:19Speaker 2: go through things for God to give us a wake
- 13:22Speaker 2: up call, give us a little self check. You know,
- 13:24Speaker 2: you know you know who I've called you? Do you
- 13:26Speaker 2: know who I've called you? Go back to your word
- 13:28Speaker 2: and really see you know, hey, what what do I say?
- 13:31Speaker 2: About you, and that's really the stepping stone to get
- 13:35Speaker 2: in to where I am.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Now you you you're talking real good. Look does a
- 13:40Speaker 1: ray she talking real good? Because it even goes back
- 13:43Speaker 1: to what you just said about the grace? Hey, get god,
- 13:45Speaker 1: where a grace is. My response to you is that
- 13:47Speaker 1: I've graced you for a different level. Why are you
- 13:50Speaker 1: going back and even with the with the pigs? Why
- 13:52Speaker 1: are you going back and back to the vomit? Like
- 13:55Speaker 1: you're better than what you see that. Don't get ooh,
- 13:58Speaker 1: this is so good because I give you access to
- 14:01Speaker 1: be around the darkness does not mean you go dark.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I was like, listen, I told you, I
- 14:09Speaker 2: told you you.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Was talking good. You're helping me out right now. And
- 14:13Speaker 1: so in the fact that I love how you got
- 14:15Speaker 1: into relationship because your shirts say black, married and wealthy,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and we're gonna get into that because you black, you married,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and you wealthy. So so, going from us point of
- 14:30Speaker 1: your nineteen years old, you're fooling around with people that
- 14:33Speaker 1: you know you don't supposed to be fooling around with.
- 14:35Speaker 1: How do you get to be happily married? What does
- 14:40Speaker 1: that gap look like? Because I ain't gonna lie I
- 14:44Speaker 1: admire what I'm seeing. I really, I really admire and
- 14:47Speaker 1: it's okay, I'm about to tell myself. So I watched
- 14:51Speaker 1: the What's that? What's that? What was that show? What
- 14:53Speaker 1: was on own? Yes, and I watched it, and I
- 14:57Speaker 1: watched the man. I was like, oh, she a fro
- 14:59Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like, Okay, that's going on.
- 15:02Speaker 1: And I had seen when you got engaged. I was like, whoa,
- 15:05Speaker 1: she's on TV. Like I gotta I just got excited
- 15:09Speaker 1: and I really want you try to be noticed. I
- 15:10Speaker 1: was just like I was already watching the shows. I
- 15:12Speaker 1: was like, oh, I gotta watch I gotta watch her show.
- 15:15Speaker 1: And that was interesting.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Let's just get for to say the least.
- 15:18Speaker 1: So, but it wasn't real.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I won't say that it's fake. Okay, it's not scripted,
- 15:25Speaker 2: but they take different clips to make it seem a
- 15:29Speaker 2: certain way. So how we're sitting here right now on
- 15:32Speaker 2: this topic, yeah, and just say later on down the
- 15:36Speaker 2: show we started talking about something else, they can pull
- 15:39Speaker 2: a clip from right here and put it at the
- 15:40Speaker 2: end of the show like we're like we're mad at
- 15:42Speaker 2: each other, like right now we're laughing and talking right
- 15:44Speaker 2: right Because baby.
- 15:46Speaker 1: They made they made it seem like you are mad. Yeah,
- 15:50Speaker 1: Like it scared me. I was like, and I was like, oh,
- 15:56Speaker 1: they gonna get married, like and I was, I mean,
- 15:58Speaker 1: I knew that you end up getting married because our
- 16:00Speaker 1: mutual friends. They was like, oh we're going to court
- 16:01Speaker 1: waya blah blah. But that made me nervous. So I
- 16:04Speaker 1: was glad to see.
- 16:07Speaker 2: And I be okay with being a villain. You know,
- 16:08Speaker 2: it is what it is.
- 16:09Speaker 1: How do you How are you okay with being a villain,
- 16:11Speaker 1: because I just I don't think I get settled with that.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Like I'm like, no, I want everybody. I guess it's people.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Please everybody who else said don't talk to me. You
- 16:18Speaker 1: can read me from my risk.
- 16:22Speaker 2: One thing about me, and I think a lot of
- 16:23Speaker 2: people that know me, I understand don't care what people
- 16:26Speaker 2: say anymore anymore and anymore, Yeah, I definitely don't care
- 16:30Speaker 2: what people say anymore. And I feel that it took
- 16:32Speaker 2: it definitely took some time to get here. But when
- 16:35Speaker 2: you know who you are, when you know your heart,
- 16:37Speaker 2: your integrity speaks for you. So it doesn't matter what
- 16:40Speaker 2: this person says. When I have people that know for
- 16:44Speaker 2: a fact, how I've treated them how I act on
- 16:47Speaker 2: the regular, you know, because people will trying to you know,
- 16:51Speaker 2: not necessarily knowing who you are, but they'll try to
- 16:54Speaker 2: just put together like, oh, well she looked like this,
- 16:56Speaker 2: so she looks like that. Like you said, I look reserved.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I mean, you know.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Her husband over here. It's like, no, fam, no, no,
- 17:11Speaker 1: try again.
- 17:11Speaker 2: You know what, people are trying to kind of base
- 17:13Speaker 2: who you are based off of how they feel or
- 17:16Speaker 2: how they look at themselves and how they feel about themselves.
- 17:19Speaker 2: And I had to get to a point where I
- 17:22Speaker 2: understood how you feel about me don't have nothing to
- 17:26Speaker 2: do with me. It has all the things to do
- 17:29Speaker 2: with you, especially if you're holding on to something, you
- 17:32Speaker 2: have a problem or think I've said something a certain way,
- 17:35Speaker 2: talk about it, because I can't reach your mind. I
- 17:38Speaker 2: don't know exactly you know what I've done. And I
- 17:41Speaker 2: tell I tell people all the time. Baby, tell me
- 17:43Speaker 2: what's going on, so I can apologize and we can
- 17:44Speaker 2: move on, so I can, like, I don't mind saying
- 17:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I don't mind saying that was my fault,
- 17:51Speaker 2: that was my baby. I don't mind saying it because ultimately,
- 17:54Speaker 2: in my heart, I ain't mean it. Now, some stuff
- 17:56Speaker 2: I mean and I'm gonna stand on it, you know.
- 17:58Speaker 2: But more than likely, you know, I'm not just out here,
- 18:02Speaker 2: especially people that I love. I'm not out here intentionally
- 18:04Speaker 2: hurting you, intentionally trying to be this certain person. So
- 18:07Speaker 2: I honestly just let my interior to speak for me.
- 18:09Speaker 2: People that have have never met me, people that have
- 18:11Speaker 2: met me, you know, they can speak on who I am.
- 18:15Speaker 2: And I know who I am. I know who guy
- 18:17Speaker 2: has called me to be, and I know that that
- 18:19Speaker 2: I'm trying to be the line. I'm not perfect, you know.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I don't always say stuff the right way I spoke,
- 18:25Speaker 2: and I will apologize for that. But I have gone
- 18:27Speaker 2: to a point when I really know that I stand
- 18:30Speaker 2: on integrity. I stand on making sure that I teach,
- 18:32Speaker 2: I treat people right. I stand on making sure that
- 18:35Speaker 2: you know I'm in good literally and good standing with
- 18:39Speaker 2: people like I remember when he and I first met,
- 18:42Speaker 2: Jake us to tell me all the time, them is
- 18:43Speaker 2: your friends, like you're more of a friend of them
- 18:45Speaker 2: than they are to you. And because of my love
- 18:49Speaker 2: for people, because I like when I when when when
- 18:51Speaker 2: I'm with you, I'm with you. You know when you're
- 18:54Speaker 2: my friend. I can consider you a friend like you
- 18:57Speaker 2: can have anything. You know, so when you love people
- 19:01Speaker 2: like that, you really developed just this and it's not
- 19:04Speaker 2: I don't care, it's just I know that's not me.
- 19:08Speaker 2: So I'm not going to allow you to just paint
- 19:10Speaker 2: me to be this person. And if you do that,
- 19:12Speaker 2: ain't got nothing to do with me. I'm okay, I'm
- 19:14Speaker 2: still stantinos on who Courtney is, you know.
- 19:17Speaker 1: I think that's so amazing. I'm fnna be transparent with you.
- 19:21Speaker 1: So I have this thing where I can't really say
- 19:25Speaker 1: it anymore. But I used to be like, I don't
- 19:27Speaker 1: do women. You know what I'm saying, mom trauma or
- 19:31Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it, heartbreak, all this stuff
- 19:33Speaker 1: like that. And I trusted me and way more than women.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I would want to be around men all the time,
- 19:37Speaker 1: whether you know platonic or not, you know what I'm saying,
- 19:41Speaker 1: And like women like you of your stature would intimidate
- 19:44Speaker 1: me because you were so sure about yourself. I had
- 19:47Speaker 1: to get to a understanding of it intimidated me because
- 19:51Speaker 1: you were sure and I wasn't. So when you say, yeah,
- 19:53Speaker 1: it has everything to do with the opposite person. If
- 19:55Speaker 1: you really we're really honest about ourselves and looking at
- 19:59Speaker 1: a woman, a woman, you know what I'm saying, like,
- 20:02Speaker 1: and it's being sure and then having what you have
- 20:06Speaker 1: if we're honest, like you're married. For me, I'm not
- 20:11Speaker 1: in your household. I'm not in your day to day
- 20:12Speaker 1: to day, but I'm looking at you and I'm looking
- 20:14Speaker 1: at you know, your nine to five sayings and how
- 20:17Speaker 1: you're motivating people to entrepreneurship, Like I'm looking at all
- 20:20Speaker 1: of this and I'm like, dang, she got it. Even
- 20:24Speaker 1: now like as the I guess more confident version of myself,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I'm like, dang, she got it. And so I think
- 20:33Speaker 1: it's I think we have to first of all, be
- 20:36Speaker 1: honest like I was with you, just say you know,
- 20:38Speaker 1: this is security that I have about me, and you
- 20:41Speaker 1: remind me of that insecurity and just be okay with
- 20:45Speaker 1: you remind me of insecurity because you might be able
- 20:47Speaker 1: to teach me how to come out of that, because
- 20:49Speaker 1: I don't know if you had that relationship with insecurity
- 20:51Speaker 1: like that. You know what I'm saying, And so what
- 20:54Speaker 1: has made you so sure of who you are? Having
- 20:58Speaker 1: people tell me?
- 20:59Speaker 2: Try to tell me who I So when I started
- 21:01Speaker 2: I am mentoring in ministry back in twenty sixteen. God
- 21:04Speaker 2: gave me that in a dream, and basically we just
- 21:08Speaker 2: teach women women I call it lip, how to love themselves,
- 21:12Speaker 2: how to be inspired, just on how to well, well,
- 21:19Speaker 2: I know you said you don't click. I'm sorry, I'm
- 21:21Speaker 2: trying to.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Know you by girl, we look will listen. So we
- 21:24Speaker 1: saw the intro and probably none of that is probably
- 21:26Speaker 1: gonna be cut out.
- 21:26Speaker 2: So yeah, the intro we get all right, but it's
- 21:29Speaker 2: how to love themselves, own their power, and then how
- 21:32Speaker 2: to basically walk in their power. So I was going
- 21:35Speaker 2: around speaking to kids, young girls, telling them, you know,
- 21:40Speaker 2: it's okay to be who God called you to be.
- 21:42Speaker 2: It's okay, you know, to be different and be okay with,
- 21:46Speaker 2: you know, not liking the same thing same things that
- 21:49Speaker 2: other people like, being okay with being a person in
- 21:51Speaker 2: your family, you know, to be the like, be the
- 21:54Speaker 2: first in your family for certain things, because you know,
- 21:56Speaker 2: of course we can get clouded with not seeing other
- 22:00Speaker 2: people in our family do certain things and we feel
- 22:02Speaker 2: like we can't. So I was so headstrong on showing
- 22:05Speaker 2: girls this and just really just hounting in on how
- 22:09Speaker 2: self esteem just really understanding like literally, who are you?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Who do you want to be? Who do you say
- 22:16Speaker 2: you are? Because so many people would try to tear
- 22:17Speaker 2: you down with that. And I used to model. I
- 22:20Speaker 2: don't know if you remember seeing those, but I remember, yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 2: So I used to take all different This was like
- 22:25Speaker 2: nineteen to like maybe twenty three, and I used to
- 22:29Speaker 2: take all these different kind of pictures, the music videos,
- 22:31Speaker 2: all kind of stuff. And I remember this lady wrote
- 22:33Speaker 2: me one day and she was like, Hey, I love
- 22:35Speaker 2: what you're doing with I am mentoring in ministry. I
- 22:37Speaker 2: want to sew you know, I want to you know,
- 22:40Speaker 2: help you with the girls like pase. Then she said,
- 22:43Speaker 2: well she wrote me back literally maybe fifteen minutes later
- 22:47Speaker 2: and was like, well, I take that back. If you're
- 22:50Speaker 2: going to be helping girls, you can't be taking these
- 22:52Speaker 2: kind of pictures. What kind of what are you are
- 22:54Speaker 2: you saying? To them? What kind of like how are
- 22:57Speaker 2: you being a role model to them with these type
- 22:59Speaker 2: of pictures? And at that time, you know, now, at
- 23:04Speaker 2: this age, I really I wouldn't do that, but back
- 23:07Speaker 2: then it was really more so of showing girls what's possible,
- 23:11Speaker 2: and you're not even though like I'm still not the picture,
- 23:14Speaker 2: you know, showing them like you can take you can
- 23:16Speaker 2: be tasteful. You can take the pictures that you want
- 23:18Speaker 2: to take, but at the same time, make sure that
- 23:22Speaker 2: you're not doing it for others. This is what you
- 23:24Speaker 2: love like I love like at the end of the day,
- 23:26Speaker 2: I love my body. I love me if I take
- 23:28Speaker 2: these pictures because I love it and I'm okay with it.
- 23:31Speaker 2: And I remember when Jed and I first met. The
- 23:34Speaker 2: first question my family asked them, Hey, you okay, we're
- 23:36Speaker 2: taking it like they couldn't wait to get him to
- 23:38Speaker 2: the table, the dinner table. You okay, we'bout taking no
- 23:40Speaker 2: pictures and we laugh about it to this day. But
- 23:42Speaker 2: he was just like like, yeah, it's just it's just pictures.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And I had like that said something to me because
- 23:49Speaker 2: it's like, Okay, there are people who look at you
- 23:53Speaker 2: for you. There are people who see you for who
- 23:56Speaker 2: you are and not necessarily off of what you what
- 24:00Speaker 2: you do, because you know, we're in a society. Of
- 24:02Speaker 2: course people do based off based what you do, off
- 24:05Speaker 2: of who you are, but that's not always the case.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Like if you look at actors and actresses. We look
- 24:10Speaker 2: at these shows and we see the person out. We
- 24:13Speaker 2: calling them the character that they are in the movie,
- 24:15Speaker 2: you know, but that's their job, that's not necessarily who
- 24:18Speaker 2: they are. And I think I had to be able
- 24:21Speaker 2: to decipher the two, be able to know the difference
- 24:25Speaker 2: between who Courtney is and what these pictures are representing,
- 24:29Speaker 2: and who Courtney is and what Courtney can can tell
- 24:32Speaker 2: these young girls, you know. So for me, it just
- 24:35Speaker 2: got to a point where, you know, I know who
- 24:38Speaker 2: you all have said that I who you all have said.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I am who you all have said.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Let me get in here and see who God says
- 24:45Speaker 2: I am. Like I had some long conversations with Okay, God,
- 24:47Speaker 2: you finna have to have to pay this thing out
- 24:50Speaker 2: for me all together. But we get to a point
- 24:52Speaker 2: that like we don't hear God talk, but it's in
- 24:54Speaker 2: his word already that is so good. His word has
- 24:58Speaker 2: already told me that he calls me head and not
- 25:00Speaker 2: to tell He has already told me like you are
- 25:03Speaker 2: above every like you have authority over everything on the earth.
- 25:07Speaker 2: So if I know these, regardless of what any person
- 25:10Speaker 2: that come to me say, I have authority over that thing.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And I think that's really what gets me to a
- 25:17Speaker 2: point of you know, like I'm made in God's image,
- 25:22Speaker 2: So if he gave me the dream, if he gave
- 25:24Speaker 2: me the idea, and of course, you know, I do
- 25:26Speaker 2: believe that we kind of can you know, sway a
- 25:29Speaker 2: little bit on our own thinking, of course, but ultimately
- 25:33Speaker 2: because I care the spirit with me, and I like,
- 25:37Speaker 2: I know my past is talking about seeking now like
- 25:39Speaker 2: I seek his ways, I seek you know, his direction.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Then at this point like I'm I'm I'm going to
- 25:47Speaker 2: path that he said, like everything that I did, rather
- 25:50Speaker 2: it was the pictures, rather it was you know, contracting,
- 25:54Speaker 2: the SCD, whatever it was, it was all designed for
- 25:58Speaker 2: me to get here where I am now, So who
- 26:00Speaker 2: are you to come in here and tell me because
- 26:02Speaker 2: you met me on a bad day, or because you
- 26:04Speaker 2: know you feel that I should do something a different way?
- 26:07Speaker 2: Who are you to tell me who I am?
- 26:09Speaker 1: Yeah? What you just said just kind of like resonated
- 26:12Speaker 1: with me a lot, because I've been singeing stuff too.
- 26:15Speaker 1: What's her name, Coco, Coco Jones, Coke. I think that's
- 26:18Speaker 1: the lady Nigger. Yeah, it's them by vocals something by
- 26:27Speaker 1: y'all gonna be so mad, Get out, y'all, righteous living
- 26:30Speaker 1: y'all know, I'll know that song. But her beautiful young lady.
- 26:34Speaker 1: And I was watching an interview that she did when
- 26:38Speaker 1: was talking about how she hears Holy Spirit and and
- 26:42Speaker 1: she was just like saying that, you know, she doesn't
- 26:44Speaker 1: make decisions without God, but because everybody put her as
- 26:49Speaker 1: a tagline, especially with this song about hands on the body,
- 26:51Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, She's singing that and it's like,
- 26:54Speaker 1: but I still go with God, you know what I'm saying.
- 26:57Speaker 1: She was talking. Basically, the conversation was like they were
- 26:59Speaker 1: trying to get her to wear some very provocative clothes
- 27:02Speaker 1: and she wasn't really comfortable, but she said, I don't
- 27:04Speaker 1: know if I can say something, So she went to
- 27:06Speaker 1: God about it and literally it worked out. She didn't
- 27:08Speaker 1: even tell them that she was uncomfortable. She went back
- 27:10Speaker 1: to God. And so I think, in this in this
- 27:13Speaker 1: space where I feel like I feel like people like
- 27:16Speaker 1: limit God on what he can do and what he
- 27:18Speaker 1: can use, talk about it and it's like, you're basically
- 27:21Speaker 1: saying that whatever I did, I still glorify God. How
- 27:26Speaker 1: do you how do like? I don't think people can
- 27:28Speaker 1: really grasp that concept because it's like it don't look
- 27:31Speaker 1: like God. But what does God look like?
- 27:32Speaker 2: Right?
- 27:33Speaker 1: Right? Like? What does God what?
- 27:35Speaker 2: You have to also think about how we put God
- 27:39Speaker 2: in a box because we want him to answer the
- 27:42Speaker 2: way that we want him to answer. So when we
- 27:44Speaker 2: pray about things, when we ask him, you know, for
- 27:48Speaker 2: whatever it is that we're needing at the time, we
- 27:52Speaker 2: want him to show up the way that we want
- 27:54Speaker 2: him to. We want him to tell us to pull
- 27:56Speaker 2: up in the drive through, grab this number three, get
- 27:59Speaker 2: this this person drinking right here. He's not going to
- 28:01Speaker 2: do it. He's every time. It's not going to be
- 28:04Speaker 2: like that. And we will miss God if we want
- 28:07Speaker 2: him to show up in a certain way or look
- 28:09Speaker 2: a certain way. So just because someone sings, you know,
- 28:14Speaker 2: R and B music, doesn't mean that they didn't hear God.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Just because someone does something that doesn't look like you
- 28:20Speaker 2: feel it should look doesn't mean that it doesn't it's
- 28:24Speaker 2: not god like for me. I yes, I went to college.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I do not use my college degree. And what was
- 28:29Speaker 2: your degree in health science? So originally I was going
- 28:32Speaker 2: to pharmacy school. So I got a bachelor's in general
- 28:38Speaker 2: health science with a concentration in uh pre pharmacy and
- 28:41Speaker 2: I did all of my pre ricks to get me
- 28:43Speaker 2: ready for a pharmacy school, but it didn't take me
- 28:46Speaker 2: long to realize that I was not going to school
- 28:50Speaker 2: out of here. You know, it ain't take me too
- 28:53Speaker 2: long to realize it. But I've always been creative, and
- 28:58Speaker 2: now that I with my government job. That's why I
- 29:02Speaker 2: always call myself the nine to five drop out. Like
- 29:05Speaker 2: I if I ask, like literally, I ask God, Lord,
- 29:09Speaker 2: please make it away. Well, I will never have to
- 29:11Speaker 2: go back to another person's job. Now, don't get me wrong,
- 29:13Speaker 2: I don't think anything is wrong with anyone working a
- 29:16Speaker 2: nine to five. However, that's not for me. But people
- 29:20Speaker 2: look at it like, well, it's one way to make money. Yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 2: it's one like when when people start praying and asking
- 29:27Speaker 2: God to bless them and give them money or whatever.
- 29:31Speaker 2: You think it's gonna come by get a second job,
- 29:33Speaker 2: or you think it's gonna come by you know, getting
- 29:36Speaker 2: a new position. It doesn't always come like that. God,
- 29:38Speaker 2: may you may have a talent that looks like that,
- 29:42Speaker 2: something you can bless people with, or you can create
- 29:45Speaker 2: something with your hands and create and make more money
- 29:47Speaker 2: that way. But I know we're gonna get it to
- 29:50Speaker 2: that but get into that. You know, what I'm saying
- 29:55Speaker 2: is a lot of people look at it like you
- 29:58Speaker 2: have to do things one type of in order to
- 30:00Speaker 2: please God, or you have to do things one type
- 30:03Speaker 2: of way in order for it to look like is
- 30:05Speaker 2: God Like. I'm more let me see how to say this,
- 30:10Speaker 2: because you know, I'm more focused on being like God
- 30:17Speaker 2: and looking like God. People can look you can look holy.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Then that goes back to you know, making sure that
- 30:25Speaker 2: you don't wear these certain kind of clothes and take them.
- 30:28Speaker 2: But when your heart ness and you ain't loving people
- 30:30Speaker 2: what that means? So what does it matter to look
- 30:36Speaker 2: the part but your heart not be the part? Which
- 30:39Speaker 2: is what He's concerned about. Anyway, He don't even care
- 30:43Speaker 2: about all that stuff. He tells us to love people,
- 30:46Speaker 2: love him, and love people.
- 30:48Speaker 1: That's what he said. And I think we quickly forget
- 30:51Speaker 1: that because real talk. Why are we surprised that it's
- 30:54Speaker 1: so many Kingdom minded people or Christians that's doing so well?
- 30:59Speaker 1: Why are we surprised about that? I had to check
- 31:02Speaker 1: myself by that. I'm like, oh my god, they believe
- 31:04Speaker 1: in God, Oh my gosh, they go to church.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Oh my God. I'm like, well, one because we're so
- 31:10Speaker 2: used to people, we're so used to seeing Christians not yeah,
- 31:16Speaker 2: not looked apart, not have so. Jed and I have
- 31:19Speaker 2: a conversation all the time, and I might get in
- 31:22Speaker 2: trouble for saying this, but I'm gonna see it because
- 31:23Speaker 2: that's how I feel. I believe people that do not
- 31:31Speaker 2: believe in God believe more than we do. No, you're
- 31:38Speaker 2: you're so they know the principles, the principles. They know
- 31:42Speaker 2: the Word more than a lot of us. They know
- 31:45Speaker 2: the Prince, and they follow the principles. And because you're
- 31:48Speaker 2: following the principles, they're seeing the fruits.
- 31:50Speaker 1: It don't require you to be a Christian for the principles.
- 31:53Speaker 2: It doesn't. He came for the like, the just and
- 31:56Speaker 2: the unjust. He came for everybody, not just because we
- 32:00Speaker 2: we say out our mouth that we declare one. Became
- 32:04Speaker 2: all of us. It's the principle that matters. So that's
- 32:09Speaker 2: why we get and I love I should anytime I
- 32:13Speaker 2: see somebody, especially that that love God. You know, I'm
- 32:17Speaker 2: proud to see that fruit. I'm proud to see that.
- 32:20Speaker 2: You know, you're okay. Because so many people are are
- 32:24Speaker 2: just so against having more. Why do you have to
- 32:29Speaker 2: call it? Why do you have to say you know
- 32:31Speaker 2: it's from the devil or it's they love the money.
- 32:35Speaker 2: It's the root of all evil. Baby. We need we
- 32:38Speaker 2: need it, We need it what I want to do,
- 32:41Speaker 2: for what I need to do, for what I want
- 32:43Speaker 2: to do for those around me, for what I want
- 32:45Speaker 2: to build. But I ain't gonna get it just from praying.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I need some sources.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Listen, I'm sorry, No, you know you're talking really really
- 32:56Speaker 1: well because the thing, the thing about it is the
- 32:59Speaker 1: reason why. And this even segue into what you help
- 33:02Speaker 1: people do. From my understanding, you help people get gain
- 33:06Speaker 1: the confidence to use their creativity and executing it right
- 33:09Speaker 1: and make money off what they're doing. I can feel
- 33:12Speaker 1: you on that. Come on, come on in you good.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Oh yep, it's it's live and listen. We do we
- 33:20Speaker 1: do this all the time. But what you said is
- 33:25Speaker 1: so profound because this is what irritates me. Well, when
- 33:31Speaker 1: I hear people get mad about preachers and pastors thriving,
- 33:35Speaker 1: that's crazy. But why do you want your leader to
- 33:38Speaker 1: be broke? Why would why would I want a leader
- 33:42Speaker 1: that ain't ever you talking about prosperity and God can
- 33:44Speaker 1: do a healing it, but he ain't healed your finances.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Come on, why why am I listening to you?
- 33:50Speaker 1: So now I can But we're talking about we're talking
- 33:55Speaker 1: about we're talking about being living righteous and living kingdom,
- 33:59Speaker 1: but you living by choice and you mad at your
- 34:03Speaker 1: pastor because he's actually exit or he or she is
- 34:06Speaker 1: actually executing the word and the will of God, like
- 34:08Speaker 1: I can't really. I was like, Lord, do we really
- 34:10Speaker 1: have prosperity teachers or do they just teach a portion
- 34:14Speaker 1: of the word or heavily a portion? And I think
- 34:16Speaker 1: we needed that because so many times were just like, oh,
- 34:18Speaker 1: the Lord's gonna save me and they gonna pay this bill. No,
- 34:21Speaker 1: he's gonna give you strategy like we I'm in this
- 34:24Speaker 1: season now, he's gonna give you strategies and he's gonna
- 34:27Speaker 1: give you gifts and talents to execute in a form
- 34:29Speaker 1: of a seed so you can grow so that you
- 34:32Speaker 1: can build upon.
- 34:35Speaker 2: And the watch.
- 34:36Speaker 1: She does not even just gained the money, the wealth,
- 34:38Speaker 1: all that stuff like, but gained the wisdom so you
- 34:40Speaker 1: can teach it. That's legacy. Yes, that's legacy. So I
- 34:43Speaker 1: don't understand it. So let's let's get into how you Okay,
- 34:46Speaker 1: so you you you went from for I don't want
- 34:49Speaker 1: to do this job to now I want to want
- 34:52Speaker 1: to be creative or whatever. Was there a transitional point
- 34:54Speaker 1: or did you give God a time stand? Like?
- 34:56Speaker 2: What is that?
- 34:57Speaker 1: What does that part of your story look like?
- 34:58Speaker 2: Yes, so I sold a whole bunch of stuff, let's
- 35:01Speaker 2: just say. But in twenty eighteen I started im Fit
- 35:05Speaker 2: and it was I am Faith and training and basically
- 35:10Speaker 2: God gave me the idea from everything that we deal with,
- 35:14Speaker 2: we go through, we experience, is a battleground to train
- 35:18Speaker 2: your faith. Literally everything that we do and with my ministries,
- 35:26Speaker 2: I never really wanted to make money from them, you know,
- 35:30Speaker 2: and it could have been just a mindset thing for me.
- 35:33Speaker 2: But I was selling athletic war and so the im
- 35:38Speaker 2: Fit athletes were off. That went together and I ended
- 35:40Speaker 2: up closing that business one because I can speak to
- 35:47Speaker 2: people and connect with people without having to necessarily use
- 35:52Speaker 2: that to sell them. Like we see so many of
- 35:54Speaker 2: these Christian brands popping up. And I'm not saying all
- 35:57Speaker 2: of them, you know, are using God's you know, for profit,
- 36:01Speaker 2: but there are quite a lot, you know. So I
- 36:04Speaker 2: was like, I don't have to do that in order
- 36:06Speaker 2: to reach artists, in order to minister to people, I
- 36:08Speaker 2: don't have to do that. So and then it also
- 36:11Speaker 2: wasn't as lucrative as I wanted it to be as well.
- 36:15Speaker 2: So I was like, okay, I still can do what
- 36:17Speaker 2: I'm what I'm doing now without the clothing piece and
- 36:19Speaker 2: clothing it's just it's a whole lot. It just take
- 36:21Speaker 2: a whole nother.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Just a lot.
- 36:24Speaker 2: So I was like, Okay, we're going to go ahead
- 36:26Speaker 2: and close that one. But I knew it would always
- 36:29Speaker 2: it was. I still wanted to be entrepreneur. Even when
- 36:31Speaker 2: I was in school. I would have my mom at
- 36:33Speaker 2: Sam's buying power Raids and Big Texas so I can
- 36:36Speaker 2: sell them to the kids at school.
- 36:38Speaker 1: So you always got to the money.
- 36:40Speaker 2: I've always been an entrepreneur. So I end up closing
- 36:45Speaker 2: that business, and I ended up birthing Creative Kids Jewry.
- 36:49Speaker 2: And what Creative Kids jurry is we just teach children
- 36:52Speaker 2: to be you, you know, to be like I sell
- 36:54Speaker 2: all custom jewelry, so I teach kids to or the
- 36:58Speaker 2: brand message is to be you and to own who
- 37:02Speaker 2: you are and your differences and your uniqueness through creating jewelry.
- 37:06Speaker 2: That looks like you, so whatever. Like I get little
- 37:09Speaker 2: girls all the time. They don't like pink and purple.
- 37:11Speaker 2: They like blue and greens and blacks, you know, and
- 37:14Speaker 2: things like that. So it feels so good to be
- 37:16Speaker 2: able to create jewelry for them where they can express
- 37:19Speaker 2: themselves how they see fit and not how the world
- 37:22Speaker 2: tells you because you're a girl, you are pink. No,
- 37:25Speaker 2: I'm a girl, but I wear what I want to
- 37:26Speaker 2: wear because I like it. So I ended up seeing
- 37:31Speaker 2: this video about drop shipping, and I remember telling Git.
- 37:36Speaker 2: I was like, hey, I can't do this at work anymore.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Like I'm at a point now where you know, it's
- 37:42Speaker 2: getting like real bad mentally. You know, I contemplated suicide.
- 37:46Speaker 2: I have just bought a gun, and I never forget
- 37:50Speaker 2: it was literally sit on the side of the bed
- 37:52Speaker 2: and one day like I would get really really like
- 37:55Speaker 2: have really bad panic attacks. Yeah, right before I go
- 37:58Speaker 2: to bed, just thinking out the next day. And I
- 38:02Speaker 2: had a hard monitor for about a week since I
- 38:04Speaker 2: was having experiencing heart palpitations. So I was just trying
- 38:07Speaker 2: to figure out, you know, what is going on. So
- 38:09Speaker 2: of course my dactor is saying anxiety, You're anxious I
- 38:11Speaker 2: can give you medicine. No, I don't want medicine. I
- 38:13Speaker 2: already know what the problem is, you know, But I'll
- 38:16Speaker 2: never forget hearing a voice literally in my head. You
- 38:20Speaker 2: didn't buy that gun for protection, You bought it for you.
- 38:23Speaker 2: I will never never forget it. So I mean, you
- 38:27Speaker 2: got to think about it. I'm already like I'm just
- 38:28Speaker 2: working the pay bills like it's a never anenter cycle
- 38:31Speaker 2: at this point, you know, I know God got something
- 38:34Speaker 2: better for me. But I've literally been praying, praying, praying.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Nothing has changed. I have like this stack of prayers
- 38:41Speaker 2: that I would literally pray, and if you just started following,
- 38:43Speaker 2: but if anybody that followed me, like years ago when
- 38:46Speaker 2: I was working, I would literally write a prayer out
- 38:49Speaker 2: every day and put it on, put it in like
- 38:52Speaker 2: this little stack of like index cards, and you know,
- 38:55Speaker 2: just just asking God, like God, I know you hear me,
- 38:58Speaker 2: like like what's happening? What we're doing here?
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 39:01Speaker 2: And I ended up going so one day random Lejit
- 39:06Speaker 2: just asked me he would always do check ins, you know.
- 39:09Speaker 2: One day he was intentional, like real intentional, like hey
- 39:12Speaker 2: you good, like what's going on? And I would just
- 39:15Speaker 2: be like I'm good, you know, you know, it's cool.
- 39:18Speaker 2: But I ended up just telling him, you know what
- 39:20Speaker 2: I had been experiencing, and he said, no, like you
- 39:24Speaker 2: can quit today, Like you can you can quit now.
- 39:26Speaker 1: So I was like, well, you know, we.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Had just kind of moved in. It was middle of
- 39:30Speaker 2: the pandemic, first of all. First of all, it's the
- 39:32Speaker 2: middle of the pandemic. Quitting a good job and there,
- 39:37Speaker 2: and we had just bought a house. Yeah, a y'all
- 39:41Speaker 2: married at this point, we're married. This was twenty twenty one, twenty.
- 39:44Speaker 2: So I started working there in twenty eighteen, twenty seventeen,
- 39:50Speaker 2: twenty eighteen. Yeah, and I stayed about three and a
- 39:53Speaker 2: half years. And you know, he's kind of he didn't
- 39:57Speaker 2: like his job at the time, but then he had
- 39:59Speaker 2: been and kind of praying about becoming a firefighter and everything.
- 40:03Speaker 2: So we were waiting for the tests to come through.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Here took the test a couple of times. So it's
- 40:08Speaker 2: just a lot that's kind of going through my mind
- 40:10Speaker 2: right now, Like, you know, if I let this, y'all go,
- 40:13Speaker 2: what we're gonna do. Hey, let's think about it. So
- 40:17Speaker 2: he was like the next day, I was like, I'm
- 40:20Speaker 2: thinking about it. I think I'm gonna go part time. First,
- 40:23Speaker 2: first of all, gud had already told me it was
- 40:24Speaker 2: time to go. First God told me it was time
- 40:27Speaker 2: to go, and then when he confirmed it. So of course,
- 40:32Speaker 2: anybody I had worked since I was sixteen years old. Yeah,
- 40:35Speaker 2: so anybody that's kind of thinking about what they can do,
- 40:41Speaker 2: they're like, no, I can't let this y'all go.
- 40:43Speaker 1: So I was.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I was disobedient, and I don't repent for it now,
- 40:46Speaker 2: but I was a oubet ain't going part time. That
- 40:49Speaker 2: definitely didn't make sense because now I'm making lists they
- 40:51Speaker 2: could more and they still taking out everything out of
- 40:54Speaker 2: my check. I'm like, this definitely is not it. So
- 41:00Speaker 2: I don't know how long I worked at part time.
- 41:02Speaker 2: It wasn't long at all before I ended up just
- 41:04Speaker 2: giving that two weeks notice. And by this time I
- 41:09Speaker 2: was already had I already had the kids business going,
- 41:12Speaker 2: but I really wasn't spending a lot of time on
- 41:13Speaker 2: it because I mean, let's just be honest, when you're
- 41:16Speaker 2: working a job, it's hard to put so much time
- 41:20Speaker 2: into your business as well. So I quit and I'm
- 41:23Speaker 2: doing instacart girl crying every day, crying it I'm like,
- 41:28Speaker 2: I know you told me, you said to Lee like
- 41:31Speaker 2: it was time to go. Like I literally I prayed
- 41:33Speaker 2: about that thing. I did an exitues fast, exit fast,
- 41:36Speaker 2: but I did all of it because I'm like Lord, like,
- 41:39Speaker 2: first of all, ain't nobody in my family ever not worked,
- 41:43Speaker 2: So yeah, it's gonna work out, you know. I'm like,
- 41:47Speaker 2: we're gonna have just one income. J didn't even graduated
- 41:51Speaker 2: Fire Academy yet, like cause they you know, the money
- 41:54Speaker 2: don't started coming in fro river real until you out
- 41:56Speaker 2: of school. So it's a lot happening here. So I'm
- 41:59Speaker 2: doing instacar leter when I say I'm crying like I'm
- 42:02Speaker 2: bowling like a baby, do you hear me? Like I'm
- 42:04Speaker 2: getting heaving to get these water? This carrot is water.
- 42:07Speaker 1: That's dollful. It's a lot because I did it. I
- 42:11Speaker 1: didn't do instacart. I did with a ship a girl.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I quit that real quick. I said, you know it's
- 42:17Speaker 1: not for me, but I couldn't. I couldn't quit because
- 42:19Speaker 1: I knew, you know, I still had to do something
- 42:23Speaker 1: like okay, am I just gonna sit here and just
- 42:28Speaker 1: you know, like that goes back to we're asking God
- 42:30Speaker 1: to do something for us, but what are we giving back?
- 42:33Speaker 1: So at the same time, I'm like, God, you this
- 42:36Speaker 1: is what you told me. I know, I know this
- 42:38Speaker 1: is what you said, because you know, I've done all
- 42:41Speaker 1: the things. I've listened, I've even tried not to, and
- 42:44Speaker 1: I'm still hearing. I'm still feeling this tug.
- 42:48Speaker 2: So we I don't know how long I ascar it
- 42:54Speaker 2: wasn't for too long, maybe a couple it was about
- 42:57Speaker 2: a couple of months. Well, no, it's had a couple months. Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 2: So after that, I ended up getting my first client
- 43:06Speaker 2: because I was doing brand strategy originally, and I learned
- 43:10Speaker 2: real quickly they doing things and strategizing other people businesses
- 43:16Speaker 2: for them instead of teaching them how to do it
- 43:19Speaker 2: will burn you out real fast.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:21Speaker 2: So I'm really good in Canva. I'm really good at,
- 43:25Speaker 2: you know, helping people set up their systems and things
- 43:27Speaker 2: like that. But they were paying me to, like at
- 43:31Speaker 2: that time, I was a social media manager that they
- 43:32Speaker 2: were paying me to literally do all the things for
- 43:36Speaker 2: that business. But I was burnt out because now when
- 43:38Speaker 2: I had the time for my own business, So I
- 43:41Speaker 2: had to literally go back to the drawing boards with
- 43:43Speaker 2: that for sure, Like Okay, guy, you've been told me
- 43:48Speaker 2: that you know, I'm good with connecting with people, with
- 43:52Speaker 2: helping people understand who they are, But is it in
- 43:54Speaker 2: this capacity that you want me to do it?
- 43:56Speaker 1: That's so good?
- 43:57Speaker 2: So I kind of put that on pause for a little.
- 44:00Speaker 2: And by this time my business is growing. We went
- 44:03Speaker 2: from about twenty seven thousand and one one year to
- 44:09Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty six thousand the next year. WHOA.
- 44:11Speaker 2: When I say God literally breathed on creative kids, Jory
- 44:16Speaker 2: is insane. And I honestly believe that it was because
- 44:21Speaker 2: I trust I literally like I trust God for real,
- 44:24Speaker 2: Like this, ain't this not play? Like when I tell
- 44:27Speaker 2: people about like trying to level up their their minds
- 44:31Speaker 2: and their money, like helping you level up mentally and financially,
- 44:34Speaker 2: Like this this real life. And just to see when
- 44:38Speaker 2: you really, for one, trust God to trust what He's
- 44:42Speaker 2: put inside of you, and three you do the work
- 44:45Speaker 2: like you can't help but to really see the fruit
- 44:49Speaker 2: of what you've put in. Because at the end of
- 44:52Speaker 2: the day, and one reason that I love my pastor
- 44:55Speaker 2: so much because she she really I.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Love you love her, we know we love I love her.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Listen, she really ignites something you know in us, you know,
- 45:05Speaker 2: to help like to help literally catapull Us to where
- 45:08Speaker 2: we're going. Yeah, and when she say, you know that
- 45:14Speaker 2: everything in the earth is voice activated, Bay, but that
- 45:16Speaker 2: thing you do something to me, everything in the earth
- 45:21Speaker 2: is voice activated. So the moment that I speak it
- 45:23Speaker 2: and I speak to this thing like I got to
- 45:25Speaker 2: see it, I got to I have to see you
- 45:27Speaker 2: come come to fruition. So it was a lot kind
- 45:32Speaker 2: of leading up to this point, but now I'm in
- 45:36Speaker 2: a groove now where I understand. First, I've had a
- 45:39Speaker 2: business since twenty eighteen, so I've learned and kind of
- 45:45Speaker 2: invested in so many courses and just different things. And
- 45:48Speaker 2: then just from trial and error, you know, I don't
- 45:50Speaker 2: have anyone that I can go to and ask how
- 45:52Speaker 2: did you do this? Or you know kind of go
- 45:54Speaker 2: sit sit next to them and just kind of like
- 45:56Speaker 2: everything I've done, like, I've invested in it and I've
- 45:59Speaker 2: learned it, and I've for the longest Google and YouTube
- 46:03Speaker 2: was my bfls you hear me was my bf el's
- 46:07Speaker 2: And I even now, no, I still like he'll ask
- 46:09Speaker 2: me something, hold on, let me google it, like literally,
- 46:12Speaker 2: but it's just being resourceful with what you have, like
- 46:15Speaker 2: God has given you this mind, Like listen, it's nothing
- 46:19Speaker 2: that you know you really can't create and you can't do.
- 46:23Speaker 2: So that's really where I am now. So now I'm
- 46:25Speaker 2: kind of getting back to the point where I can
- 46:27Speaker 2: help people with their businesses. But I don't have to
- 46:29Speaker 2: be so hands on. I can teach you how to
- 46:32Speaker 2: do it. I can teach you, you know, the steps,
- 46:34Speaker 2: and more so, how to shift your mindset around how
- 46:42Speaker 2: your business should look because people want to just automatically
- 46:45Speaker 2: go to step five. You want to automatically go to
- 46:47Speaker 2: making the money, but you're or running the Facebook ads,
- 46:51Speaker 2: but you're forgetting to set up the system, set up
- 46:55Speaker 2: the emails, customer service first, love people first, love your product,
- 46:59Speaker 2: but leaving your product first, you know, people don't really
- 47:02Speaker 2: they want to skip those steps. So I'm gonna stop talking.
- 47:05Speaker 1: That's no, don't stop. I feel like, no, what you
- 47:08Speaker 1: don't know is that I needed that, Like I've become
- 47:11Speaker 1: Soldier's quick story. So I'm in the season where God
- 47:14Speaker 1: told me to leave my job and not knowing that
- 47:17Speaker 1: he was gonna give me a rim and the Bush experience.
- 47:19Speaker 1: But I left. I submitted, you know, by what I
- 47:23Speaker 1: was attempting to submit my two weeks or month notice,
- 47:27Speaker 1: I was giving them thirty days and the grace of God.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Like you got to treat like you said, you got
- 47:31Speaker 1: to treat people well like And I did well at
- 47:33Speaker 1: my job like I was at a job, and I
- 47:34Speaker 1: told I knew God at some point God had let
- 47:37Speaker 1: me know that that particular company would be the last
- 47:41Speaker 1: company I worked for, Right, so I knew that this
- 47:44Speaker 1: was gonna be the end. I just didn't know it
- 47:46Speaker 1: was gonna be now. So in the midst of me
- 47:48Speaker 1: going through with you know, finding out about Tabitha Brown
- 47:51Speaker 1: all the stuff like that, God telling me to leave
- 47:53Speaker 1: my job. What this ain't I'm not getting paid for
- 47:56Speaker 1: this and I might have gotten another one thousand following
- 48:00Speaker 1: because of this opportunity, but that ain't gonna do God,
- 48:03Speaker 1: What is this? Like I am at that point because
- 48:06Speaker 1: you know, in sales, you know, when sales are selling,
- 48:08Speaker 1: they good, but when they're not selling, you ain't making
- 48:11Speaker 1: no money. You know what I'm saying. I was in
- 48:14Speaker 1: a not making no money situation with the sales at
- 48:17Speaker 1: that point. And so fast forward, God, I'm still with
- 48:19Speaker 1: the same company, but I demoted you know what I'm saying,
- 48:23Speaker 1: But really I promote it because I'm able to put
- 48:26Speaker 1: more energy into the podcast or whatever. Really I didn't.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I never knew that I would be doing this. You
- 48:30Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I just went with God. Like really,
- 48:33Speaker 1: just going with God is the answer that supposed to be,
- 48:37Speaker 1: Like what am I supposed to do? Go with God?
- 48:39Speaker 1: I want to find my person's purpose. Go with God.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I never would have thought that this would be something
- 48:43Speaker 1: I would be doing because, if I'm quite honest, I
- 48:46Speaker 1: didn't appreciate my voice. I didn't really like how I sound.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I feel like I sound like a man still to
- 48:51Speaker 1: this day. But it don't matter because guess what I
- 48:53Speaker 1: was sounding like a man by table the brown, So
- 48:56Speaker 1: it don't matter. So you know, this is really being
- 49:00Speaker 1: building my confidence. And even what you just said was
- 49:02Speaker 1: like sometimes I think of like, Okay, I gotta make money,
- 49:04Speaker 1: or I want to be able to, you know, do
- 49:06Speaker 1: stuff for desirae, or I just I work myself up
- 49:09Speaker 1: so much to the point where it's like embracing now
- 49:14Speaker 1: because eventually what you're doing, the practice that you're making,
- 49:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna be able to teach. That's what I'm hearing
- 49:19Speaker 1: you saying like you had to do it for yourself,
- 49:21Speaker 1: you had to go through trial era and now you're
- 49:24Speaker 1: not taking on the burden of a doer, but the
- 49:27Speaker 1: exposure of a teacher. And teachers get paid. We think
- 49:30Speaker 1: about teacher in one form, but that's really an office
- 49:35Speaker 1: of the five fold if we really think about that,
- 49:37Speaker 1: and what we have in the five fold is really
- 49:39Speaker 1: an extension that we're supposed to be a representation in earth.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Like I got all of it from what you just said.
- 49:46Speaker 1: It is so good, No, I think, you.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Know, I tell people all the time like I'm not
- 49:51Speaker 2: going to tell you to leave your job, but I
- 49:53Speaker 2: do because I've been there, and I know the notion
- 49:56Speaker 2: to leave, and I know that the feeling you know
- 49:59Speaker 2: of my time here has expired. And the thing is
- 50:04Speaker 2: when the season is dead or the ground is dead,
- 50:07Speaker 2: nothing it's gonna come out of it. But we eats
- 50:10Speaker 2: and roots, you know, And a lot of times you
- 50:13Speaker 2: can look at it like you know, well roots still grow, Yeah,
- 50:17Speaker 2: but dead roots ain't gonna give you nothing that you
- 50:19Speaker 2: can use. It not gonna give you good fruit, you know.
- 50:22Speaker 2: So I think if if you've gone to a point
- 50:25Speaker 2: where you know God is literally telling you, you know,
- 50:28Speaker 2: for us it was literally getting out of our own heads.
- 50:32Speaker 2: When I tell you, when I quit, we literally did
- 50:36Speaker 2: way more than what we were doing with the job.
- 50:40Speaker 2: So it kind of makes me feel like like's my
- 50:43Speaker 2: overflow held up because I was just obedient. So if
- 50:47Speaker 2: God has told you to do something, until you do
- 50:51Speaker 2: that thing, you're not gonna live. First of all, you're
- 50:56Speaker 2: not gonna live freely, and you're not gonna live holy
- 50:58Speaker 2: because you're always gonna be a piece of what He
- 51:02Speaker 2: has for you instead of all of it. The Bible says,
- 51:06Speaker 2: see seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness,
- 51:09Speaker 2: and all these things to be added, not a piece,
- 51:14Speaker 2: not a little bit, not some all. And I can
- 51:18Speaker 2: talk about it. And if people always tell me, you know,
- 51:20Speaker 2: will it's easy for you you all don't have kids,
- 51:23Speaker 2: It ain't easy. Even though we don't have kids, it
- 51:25Speaker 2: still was hard because one baby going from one income
- 51:29Speaker 2: to two income, two incomes to one income. It's a stress,
- 51:32Speaker 2: I'm sure on anybody.
- 51:34Speaker 1: You know.
- 51:34Speaker 2: But when you really trust God, you believe God for real.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Like I have a friend that I never forget. She
- 51:39Speaker 2: would tell me that, like said Christmas, they would like
- 51:43Speaker 2: pay people's mortgages and their car notes. And she said,
- 51:47Speaker 2: it's no way I'm going to pay somebody a car note,
- 51:49Speaker 2: and God let my car get repossisted. So that goes
- 51:52Speaker 2: back to what you do for others. God will make
- 51:55Speaker 2: happen for you. And it took a while to get there.
- 51:57Speaker 2: But when we you know, when we sit and look
- 51:59Speaker 2: at it now, it's like, bro guy has literally blown
- 52:03Speaker 2: our minds in the middle of a pandemic, when people
- 52:06Speaker 2: are literally losing jobs, you know, and they want to work.
- 52:10Speaker 2: And it's not necessarily that I just don't want to work.
- 52:13Speaker 2: I've never had a dream job. Even when I was
- 52:16Speaker 2: going to be a pharmacy pharmacist. I was going because
- 52:20Speaker 2: I wanted to be the pharmacist that ran my own pharmacy.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Like it was always going back to entrepreneurship some kind
- 52:28Speaker 2: of way.
- 52:29Speaker 1: You just didn't know. I didn't know.
- 52:30Speaker 2: I didn't. Yeah, So it's literally like, Okay, I know
- 52:33Speaker 2: it's here, it's planet already, but I don't know how
- 52:36Speaker 2: to how we and the fruit gonna form and how
- 52:38Speaker 2: the fruit gonna look. But I know that it's there
- 52:41Speaker 2: and it's already planning here for it to sprout. So
- 52:43Speaker 2: I would just say to you girl, listening, until you
- 52:46Speaker 2: do what God said do, You're gonna always get half,
- 52:51Speaker 2: you know what.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Some don't don't talk about it my camera, Dad, It died,
- 52:54Speaker 1: Bear died. This isn't changed. Okay, So but what was
- 52:57Speaker 1: coming up? Don't believe me like that. No, I'm she
- 53:00Speaker 1: just came for my neck. I'm looking for you. She
- 53:02Speaker 1: just came. She just came for my neck. Did what's
- 53:06Speaker 1: coming up? Is the story I'm paraphrasing because I can't
- 53:08Speaker 1: remember barbatim, but it's the story of Elijah. I think
- 53:14Speaker 1: when God made provision for him and with the raven
- 53:18Speaker 1: like when when you know, we had to the brook,
- 53:20Speaker 1: the brook, and then he was literally providing for him
- 53:23Speaker 1: with the ravens, right, which is a dirty bird, you
- 53:25Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. But then when the brook dried up,
- 53:28Speaker 1: he could have stayed there, and he could he could
- 53:30Speaker 1: have stayed there, right, But God had already made the
- 53:33Speaker 1: next set of provisions for him. He already had the
- 53:35Speaker 1: lady prepared to take care of him. But he had
- 53:38Speaker 1: to make the decision to go with God and follow
- 53:41Speaker 1: him again. Follow the story, you know what I'm saying.
- 53:43Speaker 1: That's what came up because I was like, yeah, because
- 53:44Speaker 1: when the graces up, the graces is gone, it's gone.
- 53:49Speaker 1: You came for my neck, but she did, Like, but
- 53:53Speaker 1: she did. She did it eloquently.
- 53:55Speaker 2: But she ain't wrong though.
- 53:56Speaker 1: And the thing about it is, even in this season,
- 54:02Speaker 1: I'm learning that entrepreneurship really brings you closer to God. Bro, Like, man,
- 54:13Speaker 1: the experiences that I'm having. Now, I'm like, Bro, how
- 54:17Speaker 1: my roof need to be fixed? After I'm making I mean,
- 54:21Speaker 1: I'm making the money you was making as an entrepreneur.
- 54:24Speaker 1: I'm making that at the job I Didne bought my
- 54:27Speaker 1: house as a single woman. I didnet bought my car
- 54:29Speaker 1: as a single woman with the income that I was making.
- 54:32Speaker 1: And now I'm like, God, I you know this thing,
- 54:37Speaker 1: the math and matheing on this, but we're gonna we're
- 54:39Speaker 1: gonna figure this out. You know what I'm saying. I got.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I ain't got no choice but to have faith. I
- 54:43Speaker 1: told the ruth for people, I said, you ain't gonna
- 54:46Speaker 1: have no problem with my insurance company, and i'mna be able.
- 54:48Speaker 2: To pay you.
- 54:49Speaker 1: I don't know how, but it's gonna happen. And it's happening. Right, like,
- 54:54Speaker 1: and so you when you say, like, when I give
- 54:56Speaker 1: God half, He responds with, that's why people get when
- 55:02Speaker 1: people say something about tithing or whatever. I know that
- 55:05Speaker 1: for a fact, I didne grown up with that, but I.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Love let me.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Let me not miss this point. And I'm milana playing
- 55:11Speaker 1: here the point that you're making about I didn't see it,
- 55:15Speaker 1: but I knew I had to do it. Sometimes we
- 55:18Speaker 1: use the excuse of oh, my family didn't do it
- 55:21Speaker 1: or this and that, and so you said you use
- 55:25Speaker 1: the resources to get to where you are. I think
- 55:30Speaker 1: that's I think that's a pinpoint of where we miss
- 55:32Speaker 1: and why fear is festered in there has that? But
- 55:36Speaker 1: has there ever been a moment to where you can
- 55:38Speaker 1: recall age like fear almost took you out in your
- 55:41Speaker 1: entrepreneurial role, and how did you translate that and to
- 55:44Speaker 1: giving that to.
- 55:45Speaker 2: God all the time? Like I think a lot of
- 55:49Speaker 2: times we can be just so super spiritual. Fear is
- 55:52Speaker 2: a real thing. Yeah, fear is a real thing. But
- 55:56Speaker 2: it's the fact is when you don't cast down fear
- 56:00Speaker 2: when it becomes a problem. That's because we're human and
- 56:04Speaker 2: sometimes our humanity will trump our spirituality. Sometimes being human
- 56:11Speaker 2: will trump even what we know God said, because we're
- 56:14Speaker 2: human first, and of course you know we're supposed to think,
- 56:17Speaker 2: you know, we don't suppose to think Cardinal Carnelie sometimes,
- 56:20Speaker 2: But when I be when I see these bills and
- 56:24Speaker 2: then I see that region's account, that the federal account,
- 56:30Speaker 2: what we're doing, what are we doing? So that's that's
- 56:33Speaker 2: that's real life. But I also think that when you
- 56:35Speaker 2: get to a point where you understand that fear doesn't win,
- 56:39Speaker 2: and I have to do it anyway, because if you
- 56:42Speaker 2: sit here and you don't, you don't kick down the
- 56:44Speaker 2: door of fear, you will never know what's on the
- 56:46Speaker 2: other side of that door until you get there. So
- 56:49Speaker 2: I think for me when it came to or when
- 56:51Speaker 2: it currently comes to my entrepreneur journey, I don't necessarily
- 57:00Speaker 2: for me, it's more so of making sure that I'm
- 57:03Speaker 2: gonna stay where I am and not go back. So
- 57:05Speaker 2: you know, when you start, when you hit your first
- 57:07Speaker 2: one one thousand dollars a month, you know you ain't
- 57:10Speaker 2: trying to go back to make a two under dollars
- 57:11Speaker 2: a month. When you make ten thousand, you ain't trying
- 57:13Speaker 2: to go back five thousand. You know, yeah, So a
- 57:15Speaker 2: lot of times I started looking at Okay, what what
- 57:18Speaker 2: would my life look like if I don't continue to
- 57:23Speaker 2: stay there? You know, And I think it's not necessarily
- 57:26Speaker 2: a point of if God can't do it. It's a
- 57:30Speaker 2: point of if we believe sometimes that we deserve it,
- 57:36Speaker 2: if we believe that. It just just a point of
- 57:42Speaker 2: if we even just believe that it will happen. Not
- 57:44Speaker 2: of God to do it, but if we get the
- 57:46Speaker 2: babble tells us if you ask a thing and you
- 57:49Speaker 2: believe it shall be so, not just asking for it
- 57:52Speaker 2: and just going on about from her from the prayer,
- 57:55Speaker 2: but asking that thing and literally believing that God has
- 57:58Speaker 2: already like that has has gotten me over fear plenty
- 58:02Speaker 2: of times. And also was it was it David that said, God,
- 58:06Speaker 2: I believe will help my unbelief.
- 58:08Speaker 1: It was a man in the New Testament? Uh, by
- 58:13Speaker 1: the son right, He's like, I know you can do it.
- 58:15Speaker 1: I know you can do it.
- 58:17Speaker 2: I my unbelief. So that's I'm sorry. I don't know
- 58:19Speaker 2: who's about to say, go ahead and google that, but
- 58:21Speaker 2: look on, I don't know who said, but I remember Rid, Yes,
- 58:24Speaker 2: And you know, that's a point of like God God
- 58:29Speaker 2: made you. God know exactly who you are, how you're
- 58:32Speaker 2: going to ask, how you're going to receive what he
- 58:36Speaker 2: does and what he doesn't do. He already know you're
- 58:38Speaker 2: gonna be scared. So trying to cover up things from
- 58:43Speaker 2: God makes makes fear more prevalent in your life because
- 58:50Speaker 2: you're trying to cover it up instead of just giving
- 58:53Speaker 2: it to him. God, I'm scared. I believe you can
- 58:56Speaker 2: do it, but I honestly don't know if you are God,
- 58:59Speaker 2: like I have real life talks, like a real talk,
- 59:03Speaker 2: like I believe that you can do it, and I
- 59:06Speaker 2: apologize for down you, but give me peace in this moment,
- 59:09Speaker 2: show me a sign. We left for a little bit.
- 59:13Speaker 2: So j had had like one hundred jobs. He had
- 59:18Speaker 2: like a hundred jobs. This is like we was waiting
- 59:20Speaker 2: for him to get his call back for a firefighter
- 59:24Speaker 2: and he was just he you know, just clean. Because
- 59:27Speaker 2: we're dreamers, we're creative, so it's just hard for us
- 59:30Speaker 2: to just settle in just one thing. No one guy
- 59:32Speaker 2: has given us something bigger, so he had got disappointment
- 59:37Speaker 2: or this interview for pest control, I think it was
- 59:41Speaker 2: Cook's pest control and they want you to cut your
- 59:44Speaker 2: hair off, right, So I already knew that he was
- 59:46Speaker 2: going to have to cut all his hair off when
- 59:47Speaker 2: he became an actual firefighter. But I'm like, we're gonna
- 59:50Speaker 2: do that for your extual career. We didn't even just
- 59:52Speaker 2: do that for no cot control that youbace. I deal
- 59:57Speaker 2: with that for your career, but a job that you
- 59:59Speaker 2: probab gonna quit this, We're not gonna do this. So
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: I told you I believe God for real. Right, So
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: that night, I'm like, okay, we're gonna be like, get
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: in and ask God to send us a sign if
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: it's meant for you to get this job. Right. So
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I knew we had to be specific. I be specific
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: with my prayers. I be specific when it's time to
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: you know, like when i'm really declaring something and putting
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: a like I really need the man, I don't have him. Like,
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: I'm real specific what I mean. So I said, okay, God,
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: funny that we love it out of time. I said, okay,
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: so we never saw bugs in our house, right, So
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, well he going to the record cooks
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: past control. I'm ask God for a roach to come
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: back here if you have that girl. No, no, and
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: if you know me, you know if I when I said,
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: I hate bugs like they are Yeah, anyway, back to
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: the store. So I literally prayed that night and I said, God,
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: if this is like, if this is job you have
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: for him, like and I honestly believe that that God
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: meets our he like he know I was serious. We
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: love now, but I was so serious at that time.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: If you, if this is a job for you have
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: for him, you know, allow a roach to come back
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: here between now and in the morning, and safe to say,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: we ain't never see no roach, so he ain't go
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: to the job. But saying all of that, with saying
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: all of that to say, when you really go to God,
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: and I know, like I mean, I'm not getting but
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: I believe that your word is for me. So if
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: you if this happened back then you're the same guy now,
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: so I can pray that again. So that's when you
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: kind of start just putting a demand on God. Will
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: like God, you know my heart, you already know him
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: to be scared. You you know that like this is
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: a fear of mine. Helped me with that, and forgive
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: me for any time that I've doubted you. I mean entrepreneurship,
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: you're going to be scared. I'm sorry, y'all just got
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: braced it. So I'm probably but welcome to the club,
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: all right, I got my speed the way. With entrepreneurship,
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: you're gonna be afraid because, first of especially like no
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: one in my family has ever had for one a
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: legitimate business to no one in my family has ever
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: gone to a point where, you know, they have even
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: been able just to walk away from a job period,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: not even just go be an entrepreneur, but to stand
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: up and just say that enough is enough. My mom
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: waited till she was probably forty seven, forty eight, and
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: she had been at a job for almost twenty three
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: years and walked off that job. It took her forever
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: to do that. But you you weren't value there. You know,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: this wasn't this wasn't what God had for you probably
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: had you there for a season, yeah, for then, But
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: now this is now. So I think you know, anything
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: new is gonna be a fear. It's gonna cause fear.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: And I always I'll never forget. I saw mem years
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: ago and I literally carried with me like I said it,
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: you can all always trust an unknown future to a
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: known guy. But that's how we dealing with fear. Baby,
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: do it a fraid, but do it.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: That's what That's what said, Joshua. Be bold and courageous.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Courage don't mean you're not there. Courage means doing it
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: in the face of fear. Yeah, it does.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: And that's when you see what you made of Because
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: if it's always easy the piece of cake, you know,
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: I mean, what character are you building there?
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: That's so good?
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: But when you get to a point and you're you
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: know that you I'm working through fear, I'm working through heartache,
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: I'm working through negative bank accounts. Like God, you got
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: to bless this.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna go into worship right now because
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: what you just like, I'm working through this, like it
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: keeps coming up, Like ya though I walk through the
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: valley of shelve of death. I fear no evil about
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: art with me. Yes, And when we we we say
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: that like it's just like a like on a cereal
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: box or something. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: But no, like I am.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: When you say that, I see that, it's like I'm
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: working through the unpaid bills, I'm working through the bad credit. Yeah. Hello,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: I'm working through, you know, not knowing what tomorrow brings,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: but I know who knows what tomorrow brings, and I
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: don't know. I'm just kind of like amazed at this
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: conversation because this is not what I wanted to talk about.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I was like I wanted I wanted to be nosy
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: about you know how happy you are, like girl, you
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: have it like you have brought your man up every time,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: every example, and I just love that. So I want
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: to be knowsed about certain things that God is, like,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: we got to bring you back and we have to
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: let the man of God come because the Lord didn't
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: want to talk about they today. He wanted to come
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: for my neck on this entrepreneurship. And I know if
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: he coming from my nick, he comes for y'all Nick.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, first of all, did you find this scription?
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Did?
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: So? It's been so good, like for real. It's the
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: story of when you know Jesus and his homeboys, they
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: was walking through they was doing all the things, they
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: was doing the miracles, right, So it's a guy who
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: was who brought his son to the disciples who had
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: a spirit and they couldn't they couldn't cast a spirit out.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: So when he's talking to Jesus, this is Mark nine
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: and Mark nine and twenty let's go around twenty two, right,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: So it says this is NLT right. It says the
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: spirit often throws him into the fire or into water,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: us if you can. What do you mean? So this
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: is red letter, you know, red lettle means this is Jesus.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Jesus said, what you mean if I can? Jesus said,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: anything is possible if a person believes. The Father instantly
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: cried out, I do believe. But helped me overcome my unbelief.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: So as I was just sitting there listening as we're
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: talking about like entrepreneurship and just thinking about my own
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: entrepreneurial journey. It's like a lot of things that people
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: were coming to Jesus about this point, like they's either
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: they saw it or they knew somebody that had had,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: you know, an encounter. Right, So it's like, I know
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: it's possible. One if I can look back in my
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: own life, you know, about the things that God God
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: has brought me through, I know it's possible. But sometimes
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: when we come into different situations and circumstances, because you know,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: with every every level, there's a new there's a new testing,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: there's a new trial, right, and the higher you go,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: the bigger they become. And so it's like you're coming
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: up against this thing, you know, where you decide where
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: you're deciding to try entrepreneurship or you know, try something new,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: and this fear rises up, right, the fear rises up
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: and you're like, Lord, I know you can, but because
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: I've struck. Because my thing is I felt like I've
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: worked so hard for everything right, Like like I've really
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: had to work so hard for everything. But the truth
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: of the matter is I was working in my own
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: strength and God to do it right. So now as
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: I'm coming into these different seasons, in these different testings,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: the fear is there one now because I don't want
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: to get it wrong. But I'm like, Lord, I know
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: you can do it. I know I know you can,
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: But there's that that fear is allowing me. It's trying
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: to allow me not to believe. And if we're just
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: honest with God, like he already knows, if we're just
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: honest with him, like you said, Corney, be honest with
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: him and leave it at his feet, and the courage
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: is to continue to move forward because who knows what's
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: waiting on the other side, But we won't know until
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: we make that step to cross over, until we decide.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Till we decide. When we decide, decide, it means to
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: cut off something like you can't have both and sometimes
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: we won't. Okay, God, you make this entrepreneur thing happen
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: while I do my job. If God ain't graced you
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: for that, you can't because it's no way to be
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: as creative as we are in His room. Like that's all.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: It's so beautiful How God just said it up like that,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Like we're all creators in His room. We go through
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: different create in different ways, but our foundation is the same.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Is that as a creator you don't know? Like, thank you,
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. Oh my God. So I'm getting this picture
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: of the start of creation and how God took day
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: by day by day to create when he could have
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: made everything in an instant. So what if God took
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: his time to do something that he could have done
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: rackulessly in a moment. What do you mean? What do
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: we look like trying to create the inversion of ourselves
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: or the inversion of the thing in a day. So
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: that should be in our encouragement to say, Okay, God
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: gave me a role map. Yeah he did it in
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: seven days, but it might take his seven days, might
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: be my seven months, seven years. I just got to
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: brace myself for the time because it's gonna be created and.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: Enjoy the journey.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: We be so ready for, you know, the goal, to
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: reach the goal, that we forget the progress that it
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: took to get there. Yeah, because the progress is what
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: is going to build you. That's gonna build character, that's
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: going to build your faith. At the end of the day,
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: if you go into a problem, or if you go
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: into a situation or a season, if you go into
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: a new season and you come out of that season
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: and your faith is the same, you didn't pass the tests.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: Everything that we go through, I think I said that
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: earlier with I am Fit. Everything that we go through
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: is literally a battle field to train our faith. And
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: I had a friend to tell me that she think
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: I have the gift of faith. And I don't call
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: it any of it. I don't really know. But one
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: thing that can't nobody tell me is that God can't
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: do something. And I get a lot of questions, how
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: do you hear God? And how do you know what
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: your purpose is? And what do you do when God
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: doesn't do it? And the simplest question after I cry
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: is believe God again? Believe believed again?
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Oh oh that's a ray. Hold up, wait, wait, wait,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: hold up, wait, did y'all hear what the woman of
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: God just said? She said, after I'm done crying, after
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I feel all the human emotions, after I go through
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: all these experiences of the transition and feel like I'm
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: let down, I choose to believe God again. Well, Courtney, Courtney,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: I'm about to tell you something. You just messed up
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: my flow because normally I asks people do they have
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: a final thought?
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: That is.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Courtney, Oh my gosh, Like I'm not normally speeches like
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: this normal. I have something to say. I don't got
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: none to say. That's what you got something to say?
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Do y'all got something to say? Courtney? If you did
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: nothing else today, I don't care if now one person
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: watched this. You came from me like real talk, like
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: I ain't gonna lie. I didn't even know I needed
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: this juice, Like it's been so good, like free freedom
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: for real, and just knowing you and seeing you from
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: the outside or whatever. Now getting to talk to you, man,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: like it hit different. So for those of you that
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: are on this entrepreneur journey that know that don't have
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: a name for what y'all doing yet, like go through
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: the process, man, because you are of evidence, as I
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: like to say it, because David saying you the social proof,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: like for real. And so man, this has been a
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: very confirming and encouraging conversation. I just want to thank you.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: See's like, man, thank you.
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: Listen.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: You have to come back.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Listen, we have to get you on the I would
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: love that.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: I'm always interviewing, but rarely. I just did my first
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: interview not too long ago. But yeah, I would love that.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: But it's on the other side, it is. It is different.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: I'll be nervous. I don't know what they gonna ask me,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: but Lord, have your way listen. I'm definitely you're definitely
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: coming back. We might we might have you know, we might,
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: we might invite him to the day what but no,
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: most definitely, and I look forward to just seeing your evolution.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: You've evolving from this, and so this has been very
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: encouraging y'all. Desiree yeah, I don't. I don't have any stuff.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: So with that being said, man, make sure y'all like
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: come and subscribe, make sure you follow my girl. Our
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: information is in the description. But y'all listen. I want
