- 0:33Speaker 1: Me neither, But once the Simptons were in management four finger.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Discount, dude, welcome two four finger discount with this is
- 0:57Speaker 3: what we hear to review.
- 0:58Speaker 1: An absolute stinker of a Simptons of so the color yellow.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm dando guy. Wow.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Okay, then, look, I must admit my expectations were close
- 1:08Speaker 4: to rock bottom.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Going into this like that. I get the feeling any.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Time a show maybe tries to tackle the very thorny
- 1:15Speaker 4: topic of.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Race, and particularly the sort of history and legacy of
- 1:19Speaker 1: slavery in America, there's.
- 1:21Speaker 4: A chance that it's either going to be incredibly tone
- 1:24Speaker 4: definite sensitive or hand ringingly kind of apologetic, and that
- 1:29Speaker 4: latter one probably justified, but at the same time not
- 1:31Speaker 4: necessarily that entertaining.
- 1:33Speaker 1: There's no there's no in this. Yeah, there's no. He's
- 1:37Speaker 1: the thing that I thought.
- 1:37Speaker 4: There were plenty of gags in this, and some more
- 1:40Speaker 4: than a few that actually worked pretty well.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I think for me, I'm watching this going I just
- 1:44Speaker 1: don't see the point of any of this. Yeah. I
- 1:46Speaker 1: got to the end and I went, what did I
- 1:48Speaker 1: just watch? Because okay, let's start some positives, right, okay,
- 1:52Speaker 1: and positives have nothing to do with this episode, all right,
- 1:54Speaker 1: It's just that it happened to me this week. So
- 1:57Speaker 1: I've got a new TV, so let's talk that. That's good.
- 2:01Speaker 1: The color was not yellow. The color was very vibrant.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I bought a for those who playing your home, a
- 2:05Speaker 1: Samsung eighty three inch S ninety five f O lead TV.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Oh my god, the lovely Luise recently bought a new TV,
- 2:12Speaker 4: new Samsung. First first thing she said to me was like,
- 2:14Speaker 4: it's as thin as a postcard. Yeah, it's very thin. Yeah,
- 2:17Speaker 4: so this sum is incredibly vibrant as well. I'm like,
- 2:19Speaker 4: did you you got floor stock. You got the one
- 2:21Speaker 4: that looks like it actually is on when you go
- 2:23Speaker 4: into JB or The Good.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Guys or whatever. She hadn't taken off store mode yet.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Deftly correct, but please can. Yeah, it's a it's a
- 2:29Speaker 1: matte finish. It's very it's anti glare technology and they've
- 2:32Speaker 1: never done it before, and I wass I bought it.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Sort of threw a mate who works at the store.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You're like a pink Shutgary. I'm not babular enough to
- 2:39Speaker 1: have a new bread. So I got it and put
- 2:41Speaker 1: it on, and I was like, this is great because
- 2:43Speaker 1: you can literally shot a torch it and doesn't reflect.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's just anti reflects. Because the annoying thing was when
- 2:48Speaker 1: you were watching TV in the living area. Tip to
- 2:50Speaker 1: people at home, if you're trying to enjoy your TV,
- 2:52Speaker 1: don't don't shy torch at it. But the thing is
- 2:54Speaker 1: the kitchen light will beyond or the dining area light
- 2:57Speaker 1: beyond a bit giant glare right in the middle of
- 2:59Speaker 1: the screen like kids are in their dinner. I'm trying
- 3:02Speaker 1: to watch TV. I just have to put up with
- 3:03Speaker 1: it because I've got they can't eat in the dark.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But now they come in flashing torches. But now now
- 3:08Speaker 1: it's fine. Yeah, it's really good and it looks great
- 3:11Speaker 1: and finally can watch four K movies in four K
- 3:14Speaker 1: in HDR and all all that is good news. Also,
- 3:16Speaker 1: the HDR is kind of dull, though it's very well,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I know, the blacks are meant to be black and
- 3:20Speaker 1: all this kind of stuff, and I'm going, but it's
- 3:22Speaker 1: very dark.
- 3:23Speaker 4: It's amazing how on the same page you and Lou
- 3:26Speaker 4: when it comes to this thing, because I think we
- 3:28Speaker 4: were flicking between channels or something, it's like, wow, the
- 3:30Speaker 4: blacks are really black. Yeah, which leads us into the
- 3:33Speaker 4: color hell.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Your thoughts.
- 3:41Speaker 4: As I said, now, I thought this had the possible
- 3:43Speaker 4: to go all kinds of wrong, and honestly for the
- 3:46Speaker 4: first maybe third and I was like, this ain't great.
- 3:49Speaker 4: It's an okay setup. I think the sort of like
- 3:52Speaker 4: going back into history. And there's been a lot of
- 3:54Speaker 4: talk I think in recent year, maybe the last couple
- 3:56Speaker 4: of decades, probably before that, but it seems most you know,
- 3:59Speaker 4: so in the two thousands, there's been a lot about,
- 4:02Speaker 4: particularly with wide Americans, reckoning with your legacy in your
- 4:06Speaker 4: past and that kind of thing. And it's like I
- 4:08Speaker 4: think you know the show is that who do you
- 4:10Speaker 4: think you are? Where they talk about your history. Yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 4: and I think they had the American version of that.
- 4:15Speaker 4: They were going to profile Ben Affleck or Ben Affleck
- 4:18Speaker 4: was going to be on it, and then you sort
- 4:19Speaker 4: of look back into his past like, oh, I think
- 4:21Speaker 4: we might have been slave owners back in the day.
- 4:23Speaker 4: And I don't know if he pulled the pin on
- 4:25Speaker 4: it or his pr or his PR said, but anyway,
- 4:29Speaker 4: something like that.
- 4:30Speaker 1: You've just throw an afflic under the bus. It might
- 4:32Speaker 1: not have been athletic or do you Definitely, I'm pretty
- 4:33Speaker 1: sure it has been out usually right with these days.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Matt Damon told me this, So yeah, I mean I
- 4:42Speaker 1: think it could be. I think it's an interesting topic.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I think you've got to be, as I said, very
- 4:46Speaker 1: delicate in how you handle it. And for the first
- 4:49Speaker 1: third of this at least, it felt like, no, this
- 4:52Speaker 1: is just sort of going through the motions. Was the
- 4:54Speaker 1: story that I feel like we've had before. And that
- 4:55Speaker 1: was another one of my gripes, at least of the
- 4:57Speaker 1: Simpson right sure, where she's trying to figure out why
- 5:00Speaker 1: the Simpson gene is always so dumb. As you realize
- 5:02Speaker 1: the female Simpson Jean is actually really smart and they succeed,
- 5:05Speaker 1: and the this, that and the other, going, are we
- 5:07Speaker 1: just forgetting all this? Oh? You know you're we've already
- 5:11Speaker 1: I know this is what twenty one? So this is
- 5:13Speaker 1: twelve years ago. That's not an entire generation, but twelve
- 5:17Speaker 1: twelve year is a long time, but still an arm
- 5:20Speaker 1: As watch's going, it just feels like the same thing.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It's not exactly the same, but it was close enough
- 5:25Speaker 1: for me to just go, Yeah, but how many of
- 5:27Speaker 1: our new pals from Simpson's HQ who have been speaking
- 5:30Speaker 1: to us on the show, I've been saying, you know,
- 5:31Speaker 1: forget Canon, forget timeline, all that kind of stuff. So
- 5:34Speaker 1: I guess that is the case. I don't mind about Cannon,
- 5:37Speaker 1: but the thing is, you just tell them the same story. Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 1: Well what do I always say? Though?
- 5:41Speaker 4: You know, taking existingly put a clock in it. There's
- 5:43Speaker 4: only so many times you can put a clock in
- 5:44Speaker 4: But this.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Time they took existing idea to put a slave in it,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and that's why it works so effectively.
- 5:53Speaker 4: You'll see that I'm doing these terrible jokes in bad days,
- 5:56Speaker 4: But for mine, this episode kind of kicked into gear
- 5:59Speaker 4: a little but when they made a joke that felt
- 6:01Speaker 4: a little bit risky and it's not, you know, provocative,
- 6:05Speaker 4: But I.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Thought this was actually pretty good gag.
- 6:07Speaker 4: When it sort of revealed, oh, oh my god, we
- 6:11Speaker 4: were slave, I think Homer said, oh God, for once,
- 6:14Speaker 4: the Simpsons were in management. Yeah, so that's a joke
- 6:17Speaker 4: that really skirts the line of bad taste. But it's
- 6:19Speaker 4: also I think it's pretty funny.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's not on the nose so much that
- 6:22Speaker 1: even kids at home wouldn't they're probably over their heads,
- 6:25Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But the adults are home
- 6:26Speaker 1: and go, I see what you did there. Yeah.
- 6:28Speaker 4: And look, a lot of the gags that I enjoyed
- 6:30Speaker 4: in this aren't necessarily of that ILK called that that mode.
- 6:33Speaker 4: A lot of them are just sort of pretty straightforward
- 6:36Speaker 4: sitcom gags. A lot of them worked for me pretty well.
- 6:40Speaker 4: And I think by the final Yeah, in the last
- 6:44Speaker 4: half of this episode, I was like, this has got
- 6:47Speaker 4: some okay structure to it in a lot of ways.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I'm not I'm not sure how I felt about the ending.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Well, it just there's two ways of looking at the ending, right.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So the ending is that Grandpa explains that no, actually,
- 6:58Speaker 1: your family doesn't descend from this what would you call what?
- 7:02Speaker 1: What was harm with it? His name? M Yeah? Yeah?
- 7:05Speaker 1: What what was just a white slave owner? I guess
- 7:08Speaker 1: just a descend from slave owners. We descend from actual slaves, right,
- 7:12Speaker 1: which throws so much out the window. It doesn't make
- 7:14Speaker 1: any sense. But like continuity, timeline whatever. Now that aside,
- 7:18Speaker 1: The problem is why are they now Simpsons? Then because
- 7:22Speaker 1: him was the Simpson's she divorced him, and then it
- 7:26Speaker 1: said because he didn't have a last name, Virgil the
- 7:28Speaker 1: slave when she made him, he took her last name.
- 7:30Speaker 1: What was her last name? Simpson? It doesn't make any
- 7:33Speaker 1: sense when you put it that way. Yeah. Now here's
- 7:36Speaker 1: another thing that I had Simpsons there because the show
- 7:42Speaker 1: is called the Simpson But he's explaining this story and
- 7:45Speaker 1: even Lisa's like, so we didn't descend from them. I
- 7:48Speaker 1: was like, we didn't descend from Simpsons either, who are you?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Eliza is actually not related to you. Eliza was Marge's
- 7:56Speaker 1: or Mabel's daughter, So Eliza is a half rel half
- 8:00Speaker 1: blood relative. Then I get that right, Oh, man, don't
- 8:02Speaker 1: get me started on family trees. And yeah, because it's
- 8:05Speaker 1: what I'm really confusing. It's why But the other side
- 8:08Speaker 1: of looking at the grandpas story was though he saw
- 8:12Speaker 1: how sad Lisa was knowing this, he made it up
- 8:15Speaker 1: on the spot.
- 8:15Speaker 4: That's what I thought, because you see his face going, oh,
- 8:18Speaker 4: look how sad she is. I'm going to rework the
- 8:21Speaker 4: timeline to make her happier.
- 8:22Speaker 1: You're not racist. I mean, that's.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Honestly what I thought for a second there, because why
- 8:28Speaker 4: include that shot of him looking like maybe I can
- 8:32Speaker 4: save the day here by coming up with something out
- 8:35Speaker 4: of whole cloth.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And I think they tried to sort of get arounded
- 8:37Speaker 1: by saying, why didn't you tell us till now because
- 8:39Speaker 1: we're all old and racist, and it's like that doesn't
- 8:41Speaker 1: make sense, no, And that felt like to me what
- 8:45Speaker 1: I was saying earlier, where you know episodes or shows
- 8:48Speaker 1: that acknowledged this kind of thing, there's really thorny, complicated,
- 8:52Speaker 1: complicated A polite way of putting it to history can
- 8:55Speaker 1: get kind of like very apologetic and.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Often justifiedly suck. That's at the same time was like
- 9:02Speaker 4: you went all this way with it, dodging that bullet.
- 9:05Speaker 1: But yeah, I honestly thought that that what Grandpa was doing.
- 9:08Speaker 1: He just he just made some shit up. Yeah, people
- 9:10Speaker 1: just say shit, and Lisa was so blind by wanting
- 9:13Speaker 1: to not need to be righteous. Yeah, absolutely, she chose
- 9:17Speaker 1: to turn a blind eye to it all. The other
- 9:19Speaker 1: thing that annoys me, and I've said this before on
- 9:20Speaker 1: the podcast, is when they do one hundred years Ago
- 9:23Speaker 1: in Springfield and it's all just the same characters in
- 9:25Speaker 1: the same roles. No one is so Smithers relatives were
- 9:31Speaker 1: working for Bath like you're animated.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yeah, you mean, I know, we like our core characters
- 9:36Speaker 4: and things like that, and we like seeing them in
- 9:38Speaker 4: sort of different scenarios or whatever.
- 9:39Speaker 1: But it's like great great grandfather, he's the police officer. Yeah,
- 9:42Speaker 1: you don't necessarily, you don't have to hire new actors.
- 9:46Speaker 1: You can keep costs down. You can just draw something
- 9:49Speaker 1: and it might mean more, it might feel more different
- 9:51Speaker 1: if it's not just you know, Colonel Burns and he's
- 9:54Speaker 1: like he's Smithers and of course it's Colonel Burts. And
- 9:57Speaker 1: it's really weird ending for the Burns arc there where
- 10:01Speaker 1: he pops out in the library and he says, what
- 10:03Speaker 1: does he say.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I haven't heard my father's name in agent, so, which
- 10:07Speaker 4: means he's really old. I mean, that's one thing I
- 10:09Speaker 4: one of my favorites.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So the colonel, So the colonel was his father, But
- 10:12Speaker 1: then in Rose it's like, so is he is the
- 10:15Speaker 1: colonel the guy from rosel I know, Timeline, just like.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I hadn't thought about that. The reason that I thought
- 10:21Speaker 4: it was not bad was because you've initially it's being
- 10:24Speaker 4: told through the Simpson's eyes. They're going through the dire.
- 10:26Speaker 4: It's like, oh, okay, well this is one point of
- 10:28Speaker 4: view of history.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I thought it was actually pretty not rad. That's overselling it, dope.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I thought it was wigwig whack when that was good?
- 10:37Speaker 1: When when.
- 10:40Speaker 4: When Millhouse stood up at the assembly, did the slow clap,
- 10:42Speaker 4: is like, here's another version or he yeah, he's he's
- 10:46Speaker 4: another perspective, and then yeah, look they didn't really oversell
- 10:50Speaker 4: this or go too far with it. But when burn
- 10:51Speaker 4: sticks his head out in the library and goes, oh,
- 10:53Speaker 4: you know, my father was involved in this as well,
- 10:56Speaker 4: and he's his I thought we were going to get
- 10:57Speaker 4: more of his perspective, which don't think we did.
- 10:59Speaker 1: The thing is so, so what was the point of
- 11:01Speaker 1: this episode, What was the point of it? What? What? What?
- 11:05Speaker 1: What were they going for here with this? That's what
- 11:08Speaker 1: I got to the end and I went, why did
- 11:10Speaker 1: I need? What did I just watch? Well?
- 11:13Speaker 4: Sorry, you didn't really learn a whole lot. Well you
- 11:15Speaker 4: learned a whole lot of new stuff about the Simpsons family,
- 11:17Speaker 4: or did you. Yeah, you didn't really sort of know
- 11:19Speaker 4: where they stood on other than on a very sort
- 11:23Speaker 4: of but.
- 11:24Speaker 1: It's made it's it's a made up revisionist issue of
- 11:27Speaker 1: the family. It's like we've had we've got their thoughts
- 11:29Speaker 1: on oppressive and divisive issue, but you know they really
- 11:31Speaker 1: take the earth chattering position that slavery bad. Yeah, and
- 11:36Speaker 1: Eliza I just went on to live a very miserable
- 11:38Speaker 1: life without a mother. Is that what happened? Did she?
- 11:42Speaker 1: So she's, oh, that's right, because that's you don't get
- 11:44Speaker 1: to speak. You have to write your feelings in diaries
- 11:46Speaker 1: and we'll discover it years later. Oh God, forgot about that,
- 11:51Speaker 1: Virgil And was her name margin Mabel? Mabel? They went
- 11:56Speaker 1: to Canada. They left the Canada and just left poor
- 11:58Speaker 1: Eliza by herself with the dad. Oh. She just yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 1: you probably should have you probably should have added like a.
- 12:04Speaker 4: CODEA or something or where It's like, I don't know,
- 12:06Speaker 4: she became like Louis and mayo little women.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Well, we saw what happened to her. She lived miserable.
- 12:11Speaker 1: She finds the video in the library. That's scared. So
- 12:13Speaker 1: she just the rest of her life. She's just abandoned
- 12:15Speaker 1: by her mother and left to think that she's Oh,
- 12:18Speaker 1: I hadn't I hadn't thought about that. I'm just I'm
- 12:20Speaker 1: clearly heartless. But because that sucks, because the thing is,
- 12:23Speaker 1: she lived her life apparently, Eliza. I know this is
- 12:26Speaker 1: all just lot, it's just a cartoon. But if I'm
- 12:28Speaker 1: in the writer's room, I'm asking these questions. We need
- 12:30Speaker 1: to make logic of this, or don't do it. So
- 12:32Speaker 1: Lisa goes to the library and randomly just finds some
- 12:35Speaker 1: the correct video of Eliza being interviewed, saying that she
- 12:38Speaker 1: lived her life miserable, known that she sold out shet,
- 12:42Speaker 1: she sold out this, or she was part of a
- 12:43Speaker 1: family that sold out the slave. But she would have
- 12:45Speaker 1: known that the slave left because he left with her mum.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Yeah, well you need a scene where this could be
- 12:52Speaker 4: a bit of a downer, where you know, maybe Lis
- 12:53Speaker 4: would have saying I have to go, or you know,
- 12:56Speaker 4: I have to I have to take Virgil of freedom
- 12:58Speaker 4: or something. I have to do what you couldn't you know,
- 13:01Speaker 4: I'm coming around your way.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I'm trying to throw I'm trying to throw band aids
- 13:04Speaker 1: on all these cracks. And it's just like I don't
- 13:06Speaker 1: but I don't care enough to do this. Just break
- 13:08Speaker 1: you're throwing. You're throwing band aids on someone who's fallen
- 13:11Speaker 1: from one hundred story building. Yeah, like the Numby ain't
- 13:13Speaker 1: putting you back together again. This is just a pointless episode.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I just was not a fan. I just got to
- 13:18Speaker 1: the end, mainly because I'm racist, correct, But what is
- 13:22Speaker 1: going And I thought, because I've never seen the color purple,
- 13:26Speaker 1: and because of the title, I thought, maybe this is
- 13:28Speaker 1: just a take on the color yellow. I cut the
- 13:30Speaker 1: color purple, and I'm just because I haven't seen the
- 13:33Speaker 1: source material, it's just lost on it. It's not related,
- 13:35Speaker 1: and so it's not So what fucking guy's name? What
- 13:38Speaker 1: were they doing here with this? What was the point
- 13:40Speaker 1: of any of this when the twelve years a Slave
- 13:42Speaker 1: come out twenty twelve, twelve is a Slave wasn't even
- 13:44Speaker 1: out yet. I don't get what they were going for.
- 13:47Speaker 1: It's such a random thing to do. I wonder if
- 13:49Speaker 1: it air during Black history month. I mean, okay, then,
- 13:53Speaker 1: so I guess that's the point Black History Month. Yeah,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I get ya. But still favorite moments, my favorite didavity
- 14:04Speaker 1: I had of you. I mean, like I mentioned, I
- 14:06Speaker 1: thought the one I've got a real bad cough at
- 14:09Speaker 1: the moment, listeners were a pretty good cough.
- 14:12Speaker 4: I yeah, But once the Simpsons were in management, I
- 14:14Speaker 4: thought was not a bad gag. I liked the whole
- 14:16Speaker 4: Why was it called the underground railroad? No, it was
- 14:18Speaker 4: not a railroad, and it was no actual trains and
- 14:20Speaker 4: it was actually above ground. Well why was it called
- 14:22Speaker 4: the above ground train? Things like, yeah, good point. Yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 4: the whole quick while you're ahead motto was like it
- 14:30Speaker 4: was just unfinished. That's pretty good. My favorite partner. Yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 4: that's actually that's sort of like Golden Age gag. And
- 14:37Speaker 4: also this is a very this is a dumb gag.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But it kind of worked for me.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Hey boy, wanted your marjor On Selmer and tell us,
- 14:45Speaker 4: tell us she's ugly. It's a nice nod to, you know,
- 14:48Speaker 4: the Civil Rights movie and.
- 14:49Speaker 1: The big march in Selmo back in the back in
- 14:51Speaker 1: the day, and at the end, nice Lincoln cameo. That
- 14:53Speaker 1: kind of worked. Yes, yes, it was.
- 15:00Speaker 4: I'm not going to say all time or of a gag.
- 15:02Speaker 4: It's like it did help end slavery, so he did. Yes, yes, it.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Ties in Those are probably my favorites. I also like
- 15:09Speaker 1: just the banner out the front of the school when
- 15:12Speaker 1: they do a Black History month next month March. Yes,
- 15:15Speaker 1: next question, you there eating the beast? All right? Trivia time?
- 15:20Speaker 1: What top of car does Skinner drive in this episode?
- 15:22Speaker 1: At least kios? Okay, yes, indeed, in missus Hoover's lesson plan,
- 15:29Speaker 1: what day does she have a film strip day or
- 15:31Speaker 1: date day? I think it was like a Thursday, very close.
- 15:35Speaker 1: It was Friday, Friday. Go a round out with a
- 15:37Speaker 1: film strip. Yeah, I'm trying to look. I think I'm
- 15:39Speaker 1: visualizing the camera and going it seems like Thursday. How
- 15:43Speaker 1: many times has Virgil tried to escape? Twelve? Said four? Oh?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Really this is my fourteenth? She those my first time,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and hears this is my fourteenth.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Oh I thought he said it was his twelfth. But no,
- 15:53Speaker 4: I think you're probably right. Fourteenth sounds better because.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Fourteenth doesn't sound like twelve. I don't I so sure
- 15:57Speaker 1: how would have maybe? Maybe I'm yeah, twelve years of
- 16:00Speaker 1: slave probably am you know?
- 16:03Speaker 4: There was a Reader's Digest by centennial edition. I believe
- 16:07Speaker 4: by a centennial edition. I believe in the headlines, aren't
- 16:10Speaker 4: you only one? I didn't get them?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Okay? Yeah?
- 16:14Speaker 4: Who explained the plot of the sting in that edition
- 16:17Speaker 4: of Reader's Digest? It was Dick Cabot, was it?
- 16:19Speaker 1: It was? There was a whole bunch of those in there.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm like, could have fun with this, but so what
- 16:23Speaker 1: so what's the gag there? Are you aware of? Readon?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Do you know what Read's Digest is? Or yeah, well
- 16:27Speaker 1: you used to see dropped off of their house all
- 16:29Speaker 1: the time. Yeah, I don't want these, I just take them.
- 16:33Speaker 1: What's the people from Readers? Please take the people just
- 16:36Speaker 1: come to the door and say, would you like some
- 16:37Speaker 1: Readers Digests? We're like no, fine, like just take them. Oh,
- 16:42Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe it wasn't just maybe it was.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I think are you thinking like Jehovah's Witnesses Wness book? Yes,
- 16:48Speaker 1: that's only completely yeah yeah yeah, but these little books
- 16:50Speaker 1: and we're like we don't want them, like, just just
- 16:51Speaker 1: take them up. We don't fucking want give them to
- 16:54Speaker 1: somebody who does want. Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 4: No, Read's Digest was essentially like a little bridged books.
- 16:59Speaker 4: We used to them in the house. Yeah, like a magazine,
- 17:02Speaker 4: but also would have like, I can't be bother reading
- 17:04Speaker 4: the whole book, give me the gist. It was pretty much,
- 17:06Speaker 4: you know, predated everything that we're living in now, the tiktoks. God, yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 4: that's exactly right, the YouTube shorts of books.
- 17:16Speaker 1: So yeah, Dick Cabott was in there. All right, your
- 17:20Speaker 1: next question finally for me? Who was in Ralph's dream? Oh? Elmo? Yeah?
- 17:25Speaker 1: And oh was it cast a toy story? Have a
- 17:28Speaker 1: buzz light year? I think? Oh, okay, I thought he
- 17:30Speaker 1: said el Elmo on toy story. Maybe maybe I had
- 17:32Speaker 1: other toy story. I just had buzz light He was
- 17:33Speaker 1: in my head.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I have a note here. Let's have a moratorium
- 17:36Speaker 4: on Ralph until you can come up with better gags.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Other than that, I'm stupid, Yeah, because adds nothing.
- 17:42Speaker 4: He is adding nothing, and you are diminishing the good
- 17:46Speaker 4: will that I have towards Ralph. Even you know, what's
- 17:49Speaker 4: the Tutor Choose Me episode?
- 17:50Speaker 1: What's it called? That's He's breakout episodes? Yeah, I know,
- 17:53Speaker 1: but what's the title of the I Love Lisa? I
- 17:56Speaker 1: Love Lisa yeah, I love that episode, and we guess
- 18:00Speaker 1: hero's ending. That's the hero's ending. Yeah, he's not an idiot.
- 18:03Speaker 4: And everything that you're doing right now Simpsons during season
- 18:06Speaker 4: twenty one is really sort of just diminishing any good
- 18:09Speaker 4: will I've got towards Ralph and character.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I don't mind.
- 18:12Speaker 4: And you need that kind of you need a character
- 18:15Speaker 4: who can say just really dumb shit.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but the thing is sheep laughs, and the characters
- 18:20Speaker 1: in Springfield, now, the characters in the Simpsons even they
- 18:22Speaker 1: don't even care anymore. They used to be. Who will
- 18:25Speaker 1: be bothered by his stupid No, Ralph, it's this I'm sorry,
- 18:29Speaker 1: one of the best lines. The children are right to
- 18:31Speaker 1: laugh at your sorry. That's a fucking killer. The thing
- 18:35Speaker 1: is now that it's so apathetic towards and he's just
- 18:39Speaker 1: doing that. Yeah, just ignore it. So what's the point
- 18:41Speaker 1: of it? I've got the what's the point? Yeah, what
- 18:44Speaker 1: is the point? I want one more question? Could we'll
- 18:48Speaker 1: have two more, but I'm going to give you just one.
- 18:51Speaker 1: What is the name of the librarian who who points
- 18:56Speaker 1: Lisa into the film stripper? Give me a clue of
- 18:58Speaker 1: the first letter of her name. Well, who's Batman's mum.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Ah god, I shouldn't know this. Oh my god, how
- 19:04Speaker 1: do I not know this? Now? Who is it? Martha? Martha?
- 19:07Speaker 1: I should have known that, because now I knew when
- 19:08Speaker 1: I was a kid. I'm like, it sounds like my
- 19:10Speaker 1: mum's am Marsha. But my brain's fried from being a
- 19:13Speaker 1: dad mate and staying up to late watching this new
- 19:16Speaker 1: overly television. It's so bright. Well, the thing is about
- 19:20Speaker 1: the birthday point again, because we have liked like a
- 19:23Speaker 1: week's break there, right, so my new TV and I'm
- 19:25Speaker 1: watching the new movies. I'm like, this looks so clear,
- 19:26Speaker 1: and I'm like, it's three o'clock in the morning. Oh yeah, man,
- 19:29Speaker 1: kind of bed.
- 19:30Speaker 4: I had the lo fi che bars version of what
- 19:34Speaker 4: you've had, not in terms of TV. But we've talked
- 19:37Speaker 4: in the past about those cheap Blu ray players you
- 19:40Speaker 4: get to play.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Multi region discs. Yeah, Lazis, they're amazing, yeah yeah, And
- 19:43Speaker 1: they clearing them out and they're not producing them anymore.
- 19:44Speaker 1: That they're selling for one hundred and sixty. And it's
- 19:46Speaker 1: the guy at the store said, once these are gone,
- 19:47Speaker 1: they're not get them anymore.
- 19:48Speaker 4: O Holy moly, Oh should I better go buy another
- 19:50Speaker 4: one because the think about it, they were great, except
- 19:54Speaker 4: the tray won't well, won't.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Will get stuck? Will it? Yeah? Online at least that's
- 19:59Speaker 1: the reason to get rid of myne hasn't happened yet. Yeah,
- 20:01Speaker 1: that's the reason I've had to junk the last two
- 20:03Speaker 1: that I've had. Can't you just like fix it somehow?
- 20:06Speaker 1: I'm sure it's a YouTube video, can fix it.
- 20:07Speaker 4: I've been looking for that really, because you know how
- 20:11Speaker 4: I'm co I am given to me.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I've got it in that. Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 4: I mean I was gonna put it out on the
- 20:16Speaker 4: nature strip with a sign saying, if you can.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Fix the trait, it's yours. Yeah, there'll be a way
- 20:19Speaker 1: to fix it.
- 20:20Speaker 4: I'd say, Okay, well I'll keep looking. Yeah, because you
- 20:23Speaker 4: know how un coordinated, unhandy eye. I actually broke out
- 20:26Speaker 4: the tools. I actually unscrewed screws now.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Well, anyway, the think of it is, I bought because
- 20:33Speaker 4: I wanted to watch one of my discs that is
- 20:37Speaker 4: regional locked, and that's what you watch on the laser
- 20:42Speaker 4: wasn't opening.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I gotta go get a new one.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And when I got the new ones, like I've got
- 20:46Speaker 1: so many movies to Yes, I was up really like going,
- 20:50Speaker 1: now go on this one and this one For those
- 20:52Speaker 1: of you technodes out there. When it comes to physical media,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I've got the patison at UB eight twenty, which is
- 20:57Speaker 1: like the mother of four K players, right, And I've
- 21:00Speaker 1: got a mate who I know who does this on
- 21:03Speaker 1: eBay for one hundred bucks, he multi regioned it for me. WHOA, yeah,
- 21:09Speaker 1: so it's multi regioned UB eight twenty. I can play
- 21:12Speaker 1: all my US Blue rays on it now for a
- 21:15Speaker 1: hundred bucks. All right, you're gonna have to give guy
- 21:17Speaker 1: the hook. Guy, you gotta give guy the look, said
- 21:19Speaker 1: he lives in Malvine to send it to him, and
- 21:21Speaker 1: he posted it back to me. And I'm like, I'm
- 21:23Speaker 1: just playing casually playing a US Blu ray on this.
- 21:25Speaker 1: No issues now, very envious. Here we go. So the
- 21:31Speaker 1: stut tree had to fix the broken How to rescue
- 21:33Speaker 1: a broken CD player.
- 21:34Speaker 4: On a laser? I'll imagine it be on anything. This
- 21:38Speaker 4: is cincillating content that I'm asual not I'll find.
- 21:41Speaker 1: For you later. I g I would be dumbfounded if
- 21:44Speaker 1: I don't find something to help you fix it. Okay,
- 21:46Speaker 1: then I'm glad ipen do you know how to use
- 21:48Speaker 1: a screwdriver? Yeah, okay, I took the top off and everything.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I was looking around and there go. Now what see you, guys,
- 21:56Speaker 1: is why your blue rays don't work? Oh I left
- 22:00Speaker 1: the screw driver. I'm like, I'm like that surge of oh,
- 22:03Speaker 1: so I left a scalpel in your body. The funny
- 22:06Speaker 1: thing is, I magine it was just like some sort
- 22:07Speaker 1: of like hardcore porn blue. That's why I can't take
- 22:10Speaker 1: it to the shop. They'll know my secret che Epstein Files.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Let's get him to some speaking of the Epstein Files,
- 22:20Speaker 1: the speaking of the Stonecutters, and then the list I
- 22:26Speaker 1: think goes our patron. Yes I'm stone Cutters. Started with
- 22:38Speaker 1: the incredible KTG. Think it's much for your support, Katie,
- 22:40Speaker 1: you absolute champion. Absolutely certainly not found in the Epstein
- 22:43Speaker 1: fist No, not indeed, And the following people may or
- 22:45Speaker 1: may not be found in the Epstein Files. We've got
- 22:47Speaker 1: Glenn Gomez, Justin Parker, Zach Prut, Shanny Macher, Elliott j O'Neil,
- 22:51Speaker 1: Isabella Murphy, Rach Beasley, Stephen Roberts, Sean d V. Pete Anderson,
- 22:56Speaker 1: Timothy Bearlson, Andrew Davis, Kevin Dental, Planned Flood, Bellow, Window Bank,
- 23:00Speaker 1: Jack McFadden, Heath, Appleby, Adrick McLeod, March eleven, Ginger and Pickle, Preston, Murray, Tillia, Enriquez,
- 23:06Speaker 1: Declan Phoenix, Brian McCoy, Logan, b James Shepard, Joe Reading, Sec,
- 23:11Speaker 1: Dave Pretzels, McNelly, Gavin Lang, Dmi Miller, Charlie Joe, Abigail
- 23:15Speaker 1: b Sharpcater and Craig Alt Smash Glocester. I don't think
- 23:19Speaker 1: any of those were in the mcn files. Maybe maybe
- 23:21Speaker 1: one of them is one of them. I reckon it
- 23:23Speaker 1: might be. I tell you, gets try to figure it out.
- 23:26Speaker 1: The answer surprise. We love each and every one on
- 23:30Speaker 1: the stone gathers indeed. All right. So the original air
- 23:32Speaker 1: d of The Color Yellow was February twenty first, twenty ten.
- 23:36Speaker 1: The top three films at the US box office when
- 23:38Speaker 1: this episode aired. Wasn't a great time for cinema, Not
- 23:41Speaker 1: gonna lie to three films were number three Valentine's Day.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It's come right down for number one because it was
- 23:46Speaker 1: like one last week. It's not Valentine's Day anymore.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Number two to remember who was in Valentine because they
- 23:51Speaker 4: always had those all star casts.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm pretty sure who's the dude? I want to say,
- 23:56Speaker 1: Ashton Kutcher was in there. Yeah, no, no, no, Bradley
- 23:59Speaker 1: Cooper was in one of them. He was in love?
- 24:01Speaker 1: Actually was he in Valentine's Day? He wasn't in love? Actually?
- 24:06Speaker 1: I always thought was Brody Cooper young brother keeper spitting
- 24:08Speaker 1: over killer rightly at the end. No, that's Andrew Lincoln
- 24:11Speaker 1: from the Walking Lincoln, Walking Dead, dude, you're right, yes, apologize. Yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I always get those two confused. They kind of look
- 24:16Speaker 1: similar a little bit.
- 24:18Speaker 4: I was watching this B movie the other day and
- 24:20Speaker 4: there's a guy in who's never really sort of gone
- 24:22Speaker 4: to do too much, but he's a dead ring for
- 24:23Speaker 4: Bradley Cooper, and I'm like, that must really suck if
- 24:26Speaker 4: you're just some guy who's like, I'm going to Hollywood
- 24:28Speaker 4: and get it.
- 24:28Speaker 1: It was Cooper in Valentine's Day? Yeah, he isn't that? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 1: Jammie Fox just get Alba. Yeah, Dane and Holloway, Dane,
- 24:38Speaker 1: Jessica Biel, Julie Roberts in the Taylor Swift, Ashton Kutcher,
- 24:42Speaker 1: Emma Roberts. That is crazy caste.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, yeah, twenty tents was kind of a
- 24:48Speaker 4: weird wastelam because Gary Marsham made a whole bunch of those.
- 24:50Speaker 1: He made like New Years, Mother's Day in news Eve,
- 24:53Speaker 1: not news Day. It was boring movie hung over and
- 24:58Speaker 1: nothing's open? Yeah, so what else is at the box office?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Number two was Avatars come up from number four. I
- 25:07Speaker 1: thought Avatar would just open up to number one or
- 25:09Speaker 1: has it just been up there for a while, And
- 25:10Speaker 1: so I went number four back number two again maybe
- 25:12Speaker 1: And number one was Shutter Island. Well, it's pretty good
- 25:15Speaker 1: Scorsese movie.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Is that.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I've never seen it, have you not? It's good? Yeah, man,
- 25:20Speaker 1: just really Shutter Island, Shutter Island. I was looked at
- 25:23Speaker 1: the boat that it covered. I was like, eh, well
- 25:25Speaker 1: it's got a black cover. Yeah, it's just Leo looking. Yeah. No,
- 25:28Speaker 1: it's good, okay, really good cast. Great.
- 25:32Speaker 4: No, I'm not even gonna say anything more. I was
- 25:34Speaker 4: about to say something that mat you know, spoil something,
- 25:37Speaker 4: even spoil something.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I'm saying, don't don't even look, don't look at anything,
- 25:40Speaker 1: don't look at anything. Just watch it's going blind. Yeah, man,
- 25:43Speaker 1: it's like my word blind with Project Hail Mary. I
- 25:45Speaker 1: hadn't read the book, I knew nothing. Somehow I avoided
- 25:47Speaker 1: all spoilers, right. I thought it was fantastic. I just
- 25:50Speaker 1: thought Gosling was just like unbelievable in it. So good.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and you could learn more about this if you'd
- 25:56Speaker 4: like to tune into the movie guard with Moulton Day when.
- 25:58Speaker 1: We talk about it. Yes, just just a fantastic movie.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I probably wouldn't take it to Elliott to see it
- 26:03Speaker 1: just yet.
- 26:04Speaker 4: It could be a bit overwhelming. It's there's no graphic
- 26:07Speaker 4: or anything, but there's a lot.
- 26:09Speaker 1: And I think the concept of it all would just
- 26:12Speaker 1: be lost in him. A bit could be it because
- 26:14Speaker 1: the scene where, without spoiling anything, the scene where he's
- 26:16Speaker 1: getting told he has to do something he doesn't want
- 26:18Speaker 1: to do it. Yes, Elliott wouldn't get what's going on there. No, yeah,
- 26:22Speaker 1: no spoilers, Yeah, no spoils. Great movie. Oh yeah, great movie.
- 26:26Speaker 1: We are fans of Project hal Mary in this dough.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Do you think Gosling could potentially be a nomination for
- 26:32Speaker 1: a Best Actor with that movie, considering he did it
- 26:34Speaker 1: all basically solo.
- 26:35Speaker 4: I think, look, given how well it's done, we'll see
- 26:39Speaker 4: how things go for the rest of the year. But
- 26:41Speaker 4: this is really shaping up, as you know, dmently we're
- 26:44Speaker 4: only in like we're in April, yep. But this has
- 26:47Speaker 4: made something close close to something like five hundred million
- 26:49Speaker 4: dollars worldwide after only a few weeks.
- 26:51Speaker 1: This is without home video releases that's where used to
- 26:54Speaker 1: make it bank Absolutely. Yeah.
- 26:57Speaker 4: I don't think it's gonna make a billion dollars, but
- 26:59Speaker 4: I think, you know, it'll top out somewhere around the
- 27:01Speaker 4: maybe seven hundred.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I think Goslin's the most bankable star we've got now
- 27:04Speaker 1: very much. So what do you want to pose? And
- 27:05Speaker 1: people are going to go watch it? Oh? Yeah, absolutely?
- 27:07Speaker 4: And yeah, given the level of work that he does
- 27:11Speaker 4: in this that he's kind of the driver of it
- 27:15Speaker 4: because as I said in our review, I mean, all
- 27:17Speaker 4: props to the puppeteers and the voice of Rocky.
- 27:21Speaker 1: How good was that? No spoilers? Yeah, but you don't
- 27:25Speaker 1: buy it without Gosling, right nah? Yeah? So yeah, I
- 27:29Speaker 1: would put folding money on him getting at least a
- 27:31Speaker 1: nomination for Best act I hope so, and I hope
- 27:34Speaker 1: he kind of not lays too low. But just until
- 27:36Speaker 1: Star Fighter comes out, let's not be swamped with Goslin.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Don't pratify him. Here's yeah, exactly right.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Well here's the I mean, he's got star Fighter coming up,
- 27:45Speaker 4: and I don't know if he does have something else.
- 27:47Speaker 4: On top of that, he was going to be in
- 27:50Speaker 4: the next movie by the guys who made everything everywhere
- 27:52Speaker 4: all at once, this team called the Daniels, and that
- 27:57Speaker 4: was for about a week and they said no, he's
- 27:59Speaker 4: not in it, or his people said no, he's not
- 28:01Speaker 4: in it.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Maybe maybe he's right, maybe he's being something clever and saying,
- 28:06Speaker 1: you know what, guys, I don't want you to justlike
- 28:08Speaker 1: Ryan goes. Well, they had a trailer for Mando and
- 28:10Speaker 1: Grogu right before this movie, and you felt the collective
- 28:14Speaker 1: grow when Pedro hare on the screen. Oh really, you
- 28:16Speaker 1: can just feel it in the room. Everyone's like, oh,
- 28:18Speaker 1: this fucking guy. Which is a shame because when Manday
- 28:22Speaker 1: first started, it was like this guy is great.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and he's great on the Last of Us
- 28:26Speaker 4: and he's he's really like Pedro.
- 28:29Speaker 1: But it's just I think it's his off screen stuff
- 28:31Speaker 1: that's really sour people. Maybe a lot Yeah, people go,
- 28:34Speaker 1: did you be It's like, I have no issue, But
- 28:36Speaker 1: it's just like He's just everywhere.
- 28:38Speaker 4: And I said, you saw that with Pratt as well,
- 28:41Speaker 4: like either the act of themselves or more likely their
- 28:45Speaker 4: representation that is saying to strike while the iron's hot.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's too much. Yeah, and it's like we've
- 28:52Speaker 1: seen too much of you now we hate you. Yeah. Anyway,
- 28:54Speaker 1: but yeah, Gosling fantastic in Projectail Mary. Indeed this episode
- 28:58Speaker 1: not so much. So let's go through it. Yah, as
- 29:01Speaker 1: I said originally add February twenty first, twenty ten, rend
- 29:04Speaker 1: T Brown as Vergil do you know anything about rent Bro?
- 29:06Speaker 4: I knew nothing about ren T Bro. Some research on
- 29:09Speaker 4: him I from the Wikipedia page.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Let me. Let me tell you a bit.
- 29:12Speaker 4: American actor, film producer, theater director and musical theater director
- 29:15Speaker 4: known for his work in film, television and voice acting,
- 29:18Speaker 4: producing artistic director of quote the first and only African
- 29:22Speaker 4: American professional equity theater company in Los Angeles. It's called
- 29:24Speaker 4: the Ebony Repertory Theater that was founded to create a
- 29:27Speaker 4: world class professional theater rooted in the experience of the
- 29:30Speaker 4: African diaspora diaspora pardon me. More importantly, though, Rentie Brown
- 29:35Speaker 4: has appeared in the following movies. Underseage two, Dark Territory
- 29:38Speaker 4: and hell Raiser four Blood Legacy.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Sign me up. Yeah, man, you know it. I watched
- 29:43Speaker 1: in HDR yesterday Predator two Wild was awesome.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Yeah, man, get every drop of sweat. Yeah, Oh, such
- 29:51Speaker 4: a sweaty movie.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Love Predator too. I've always I'll.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Talk about this with a friend of my own. Line
- 29:57Speaker 4: is like, there's Predator and RoboCop. I think that came
- 30:00Speaker 4: out the same I think they're both eighty seven.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Yeah, or maybe eighty seven. Maybe Rogue Coops eighty six.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I think they're the same year. Yeah, I think it
- 30:07Speaker 1: was eighty seven and then three.
- 30:08Speaker 4: His lady, you've got their sequels printed. And RoboCop Bonavote
- 30:11Speaker 4: Stone cold classics of the genre and of any genre
- 30:14Speaker 4: in all honesty, but I almost feel too good to
- 30:17Speaker 4: take out every time. They're like a dinner date, whereas
- 30:20Speaker 4: Prejudic Too and RoboCop two are like two am yep.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Danny gov Is in the street fighting s.
- 30:26Speaker 4: They're cheap and nassy, and they've got some weird ideas
- 30:29Speaker 4: and some weirds up in there, and I like them
- 30:31Speaker 4: even I don't like them as much as the originals,
- 30:34Speaker 4: but they're far from a cashion and far from a disgrace.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Prendat Too Is Fantastic.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Sequels just took a swing Gremlin's too Ille movie. There
- 30:43Speaker 1: was something in the in the air at the turn
- 30:45Speaker 1: of the decade good times. Hey say the one guy
- 30:49Speaker 1: we used to make things in this country, all this
- 30:51Speaker 1: all this world. One might say, yeah, that's RANTI Brown
- 30:55Speaker 1: did a pretty good job. Yes, it must ad mean,
- 30:57Speaker 1: here's another reason I had a dodgy xp chass going
- 31:00Speaker 1: in prior to watching the actual episode, I was putting out.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I was looking for images to put up for the
- 31:06Speaker 1: guy Davis New Name challenge on that patron page, and
- 31:09Speaker 1: I was seeing, like, have they put Homer in blackface?
- 31:14Speaker 1: It kind of looked a little bit, And I was like,
- 31:17Speaker 1: but at the end he had Homer's hair and everything. Yeah,
- 31:19Speaker 1: And I was like, that turns out they didn't do it.
- 31:24Speaker 1: It just dawned on me, right, This would have been
- 31:26Speaker 1: too obvious, but an interesting spin on this story could
- 31:30Speaker 1: have been that it turns out that Karl's ancestors were
- 31:33Speaker 1: owned by Homer's ancestors, and then Homer and then Karl
- 31:37Speaker 1: learns this, and Homer and Karl have a crisis of wait,
- 31:40Speaker 1: your family owned my family true that they could reak
- 31:44Speaker 1: very special anyone would it? No? No, that's the thing.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I mean, you know how sitcomso have Hey, Willis got
- 31:53Speaker 4: molested on a different stroke, I don't think that actually.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Happened or arnold. No, friend got molested, Yes, and he's
- 32:01Speaker 1: nearly gonna arrest I'm molested. I nearly got molested yea
- 32:04Speaker 1: by the bike shop owner. Yeah, crazy concept, what the hell?
- 32:09Speaker 4: But occasionally sitcoms would have that very special episode family Ties,
- 32:12Speaker 4: and one was like, oh, we all love Uncle Ned
- 32:14Speaker 4: played by Tom Hanks, except he's a drunk, and yeah,
- 32:17Speaker 4: this seems gonna have that where it's like, wait a minute,
- 32:19Speaker 4: my family owned your family.
- 32:21Speaker 1: It could introduce the idea of slavery two kids at home,
- 32:24Speaker 1: quite possible.
- 32:27Speaker 4: This will require incredible delicacy on the part of the creative.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Going forward, knowing it's like, oh yeah, it's kind of
- 32:34Speaker 1: like this changes everything.
- 32:38Speaker 4: I've cleaned this punch bowl so many times, but someone
- 32:41Speaker 4: actually pissed in the punch one time, and now I
- 32:42Speaker 4: chased it all the time. Okay, yeah, that's an episode
- 32:48Speaker 4: that could have been. Let's talk about the episode that wasn't.
- 32:51Speaker 1: That's not what happened but this one was written by
- 32:54Speaker 1: Amaxto and Graham Billy Kimball and directed by Raymond s Percy,
- 33:00Speaker 1: so there was no chopball game at The catch egg
- 33:02Speaker 1: was the same one from the episode Father Is Worst
- 33:05Speaker 1: where and cuts back to home. I'm just dead. It's
- 33:09Speaker 1: a catch game that's never really sat well with me.
- 33:12Speaker 1: It's just it's it's morbid. Yeah, it is morbid. I
- 33:14Speaker 1: mean it was funny the first one I saw it,
- 33:16Speaker 1: and this time I knew it was coming. The first one,
- 33:18Speaker 1: I was like, oh shit, Oh okay, that's like, uh yeah,
- 33:22Speaker 1: not really a board, no board, gag is said, but
- 33:24Speaker 1: they had the was it was it an skin? Yeah,
- 33:27Speaker 1: the same like a wicked witch. I've already done this before.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, just repeating wicked, wicked, wicked, wicked Wizard of O. Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 1: So it kicks off with Willy struggling to remove a
- 33:39Speaker 1: tree stump at the school, breaking various tractors. He pulls
- 33:42Speaker 1: out some t and tea, but I thinks he's gonna
- 33:44Speaker 1: be using the school, but he's not here is going
- 33:45Speaker 1: to be trying to get rid of the tree stump,
- 33:47Speaker 1: and then he says they blow it up, and then
- 33:49Speaker 1: the tree stump flies up in the air and says
- 33:51Speaker 1: he comes to my Keia, what do you mean hits
- 33:53Speaker 1: the car? Oh my kea will he laughs, even though
- 33:56Speaker 1: he doesn't understand it. He's just laughing to fit in.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I've done this before, or someone's telling your story and
- 34:02Speaker 1: they go you know this right, and you go yeah, yeah,
- 34:04Speaker 1: and deep inside you going I hope they don't ask
- 34:06Speaker 1: me how whether I actually know it. Please do not
- 34:08Speaker 1: follow up question. Have you had those before? Oh? Yeah, absolutely?
- 34:11Speaker 1: And you're going, oh god, And that's eighty percent of
- 34:14Speaker 1: those podcast For the next like twenty seconds of their conversation.
- 34:16Speaker 1: You're not hear Itause's going, don't ask me how I know,
- 34:21Speaker 1: but you get very convincing it nodding yeah. Missus Hooven
- 34:24Speaker 1: then looks at the window seeing skinn Out trying to
- 34:26Speaker 1: remove the tree stut from his car, and gets the
- 34:28Speaker 1: idea for an assignment about family trees. Because miss Hoover
- 34:31Speaker 1: is completely checked out, Yeah, as that's just her thing now,
- 34:33Speaker 1: she doesn't care anymore. Yeah a. Lissa is excited for
- 34:37Speaker 1: doing her family tree, but then she realizes that all
- 34:39Speaker 1: of her family are evil. Well, yeah, I mean, what
- 34:42Speaker 1: you've got murderers, perverts, criminals, just like Abigail Simpson aka
- 34:48Speaker 1: the Pittsburgh Poisoner. Yes, and Hope says not to dig
- 34:51Speaker 1: into the family history because you won't like it and
- 34:53Speaker 1: there'll be no good that you'll find there. And she says,
- 34:55Speaker 1: even if I have to go bobbler back to Adam
- 34:57Speaker 1: and Eve, then I'll find some good in this family.
- 34:58Speaker 1: And it says Adam and Eve Simpson, that's what we
- 35:01Speaker 1: know is Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. Do you want to
- 35:03Speaker 1: explain who those were? Opens Wikipedia Again. I had heard
- 35:06Speaker 1: of the Rosenbergs, but I wanted to get this. I
- 35:07Speaker 1: a spice for the Soviet Union.
- 35:09Speaker 4: They correct that, well, they were convicted of spying for
- 35:11Speaker 4: the Soviet Union post World War Two.
- 35:13Speaker 1: They executed, they did.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Indeed, they were actually by the federal government of the
- 35:17Speaker 4: United States in nineteen fifty three in sing Sings in
- 35:20Speaker 4: prison in New York States.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Such a positive sounding prison singsing.
- 35:26Speaker 4: I bet these guys have got like a great drama program,
- 35:29Speaker 4: and I'll start an underground theater company, and you know,
- 35:33Speaker 4: I'll get all the prisons involved, and we'll get a
- 35:34Speaker 4: whole new lives as well. On this nop you're just
- 35:36Speaker 4: runing the lightning, buddy, Ye say hello to old Sparky.
- 35:40Speaker 1: And apparently they're the first ones executed for those reasons.
- 35:42Speaker 4: They were the first American siblings civilians to be executed
- 35:45Speaker 4: for such judge, and the first to be executed during peacetime.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Ah okay. But Lisa then gets stuck trying to get
- 35:51Speaker 1: into the attic. This was another nothing scene. So she's
- 35:53Speaker 1: growing the little thing hanging there and Bart walks up
- 35:56Speaker 1: with g's because she's hanging from the roof. The door's
- 35:58Speaker 1: not opening, and she says, are you going to help me?
- 36:00Speaker 1: And he goes, puts a chair to the side, stretches
- 36:04Speaker 1: and then slowly brings her down and she's like thank you.
- 36:07Speaker 1: And he says, what are you going up there for?
- 36:08Speaker 1: And she starts explaining us yeah whatever, walks off and
- 36:10Speaker 1: I was like, what on earth was this in the
- 36:13Speaker 1: pace of the times. That's a bit of a nothing burger,
- 36:15Speaker 1: Absolutely nothing. There was no gag here at all. It's
- 36:18Speaker 1: just so bizarre. But I'll tell you what has something?
- 36:21Speaker 1: The attic full of easter eggs. Yeah, did you write
- 36:24Speaker 1: any of them down? No?
- 36:26Speaker 4: But I thought that they were plenty of Okay, I
- 36:27Speaker 4: saw the big tiky head. Yeah, I think I saw
- 36:30Speaker 4: deep state Homer's space suit.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yep, and there was something I didn't do it, shirt,
- 36:34Speaker 1: I didn't do it. Yeah, the ring goes painting that
- 36:37Speaker 1: marched in the skull bond at home. It gets given
- 36:39Speaker 1: when he's smoking marijuana. We've got the b Sharp's album
- 36:42Speaker 1: bigger than Jesus. We've got the giant heat as he said,
- 36:45Speaker 1: Marg's calendar for when she was in that launchy calendar
- 36:47Speaker 1: correct from a few seasons ago. Last season, we've got
- 36:50Speaker 1: a grammy that the b Sharp's won. The cinder block
- 36:53Speaker 1: shelf from the home he goes to college. You know,
- 36:56Speaker 1: I'll tell the hospital and I'll tell the children. That's
- 36:59Speaker 1: a great gag. Yeah, I love it is kept the
- 37:01Speaker 1: cinder blocks and his attic. Also got Homer's bear armor.
- 37:04Speaker 1: I remember when he was taking on the bear and
- 37:06Speaker 1: he wore that armor. You remember that one? Not really
- 37:08Speaker 1: they were out like hunting and he gets shot. Homers
- 37:11Speaker 1: shoots most shoots him thinking that he's a bird or whatever.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Remember this one. There's a bed, there's a bear. Earlier,
- 37:18Speaker 1: how many things like season sixteen fifteen, Ok, yeah, it's
- 37:21Speaker 1: Amos the bead army. You know if I showed your picture. Okay,
- 37:25Speaker 1: the female gollum from the Tresa four episode that fran
- 37:27Speaker 1: Dresher voiced, and the HGS rocket. So when Homer builds
- 37:32Speaker 1: a rocket that blows up the church, a church hases
- 37:35Speaker 1: on fire and they send little Nibbles, the little hamster,
- 37:39Speaker 1: up into the sky. That's the rocket that the nerds
- 37:41Speaker 1: build for him.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Okay, then I can see what's there as well. I
- 37:45Speaker 4: can see why you did.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Not then ride down any of the headlines that ron
- 37:49Speaker 1: Reze digest. You're exhausted after that. But Lisa then finds
- 37:53Speaker 1: Homer's film idea, which was just parody another movie. So
- 37:57Speaker 1: he's the writer of like scary movie. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 37:59Speaker 1: By ten, your edition of readers die just as you said,
- 38:02Speaker 1: We've got the old ad for buzz coola with curative
- 38:05Speaker 1: power of cocaine. Yes, and then a dusty diary which
- 38:10Speaker 1: belongs to Eliza Simpson. Can you believe this unified theory
- 38:14Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it? What's the first entry?
- 38:18Speaker 1: What date was it today? April fourteenth, eighteen sixty the
- 38:22Speaker 1: date in which we're recording this very April fourteenth. What
- 38:25Speaker 1: are the odds I did not. You didn't plan this, No,
- 38:29Speaker 1: I'll just watched this going. I did notice yesterday I
- 38:31Speaker 1: went today's the thing we're going to be recording on
- 38:33Speaker 1: the April fourteenth. I mean, because you're an notorious planner. Yeah,
- 38:37Speaker 1: we're pretty good at the planning stuff. This just fell
- 38:39Speaker 1: into our laps. Yeah, could not believe it. Homer warns it.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Don't keep reading that thing, or don't read the diary,
- 38:45Speaker 1: because you're not going to like what you see. Grampa
- 38:47Speaker 1: then says that our ancestors Rumen kicked out of Australia
- 38:50Speaker 1: because all the British were sent to the Australia. It's true.
- 38:54Speaker 1: We're aal krimin, I think, do you sometimes? I feel like,
- 38:56Speaker 1: you know, England or English must look at this and go,
- 38:59Speaker 1: we should have let them here and gone there. Why
- 39:05Speaker 1: did we stay here? Do you call up Nicholas? You
- 39:11Speaker 1: having fun? How's it going? Then she says, I'm the
- 39:18Speaker 1: happiest girl in Springfield because today I get my very
- 39:20Speaker 1: first slave. And this is like, oh my god. Cut
- 39:22Speaker 1: to commercial. Yeah. Lisa then reads about the grand ball
- 39:26Speaker 1: at Colonel Burns's plantation and the parents are Mabel and
- 39:30Speaker 1: there's him. Is what you say so Eliza's parents. So
- 39:33Speaker 1: Eliza is a descendant of Lisa, apparently arguing over what
- 39:36Speaker 1: they're gonna have for dinner, poss some dinner or some kind.
- 39:38Speaker 1: And it's revealed here that she's actually planning to free
- 39:41Speaker 1: host slave.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yes, she wasn't a slave owner. Our family was on
- 39:46Speaker 2: the underground railroad. We ran a subway station. Now, the
- 39:51Speaker 2: underground railroad was a bunch of people who helped slaves
- 39:53Speaker 2: escape to Canada. There weren't no actual strains, and it
- 39:56Speaker 2: wasn't underground, then they should have called it the above
- 39:58Speaker 2: ground normal road.
- 40:00Speaker 5: Good, very good.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Bar and then puts the diary away into the air vent.
- 40:06Speaker 1: He says, quick, while you're a head, that's one thing
- 40:07Speaker 1: you learned about this family. And we get the sample,
- 40:09Speaker 1: which was great. Quit while you're a and also on
- 40:12Speaker 1: the gag about to seeing the movie Carry, it's like
- 40:15Speaker 1: she went to the problem with that handsome boy. Everything
- 40:17Speaker 1: went great. It reminds me of this an episode of
- 40:22Speaker 1: Friends we reviewed recently for the one about Friends, where
- 40:25Speaker 1: as the one where Old Yellow dies and Lisa Kudrow
- 40:28Speaker 1: her family. Her mother used to always turn it off
- 40:30Speaker 1: when just before he gets rabies.
- 40:34Speaker 4: I don't remember all this specific episode, but I'm pretty
- 40:37Speaker 4: sure to remember that Lisa Phoebe, Lisa Goodrod's character, she
- 40:42Speaker 4: gets worded up about it and she just has the
- 40:44Speaker 4: bus of.
- 40:46Speaker 1: That that's good acting. What is this puppy snuff film
- 40:51Speaker 1: or something. But as you were saying earlier, March says,
- 40:55Speaker 1: and you know, we left carried during the prompt after
- 40:57Speaker 1: she became prom queen. A lot of problems, but shit,
- 40:59Speaker 1: they were all left behind. Then Lisa hears that Eliza
- 41:01Speaker 1: tell her to take her He puts it in the
- 41:03Speaker 1: event and she said, take me out, Lisa, take me out.
- 41:06Speaker 1: So during the night she puts a fan by the event,
- 41:08Speaker 1: runs up to the event in the kitchen, it flows out.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Then says, what goes in the event should stay in
- 41:13Speaker 1: the event. It's the mrs Scans and something from the
- 41:17Speaker 1: IRS final notice, So he's tactical. Lisa is going to
- 41:20Speaker 1: use this diary for her Black History Month assignment, and
- 41:23Speaker 1: Homer says, bark and as you say, March to Summer,
- 41:25Speaker 1: which is again it was a huge civil rights march.
- 41:29Speaker 1: And I think that somewhere is in Alabama. Stayed at Alabama.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it was that was led by doctor Martin Luther
- 41:35Speaker 4: King Junior, but he was certainly a people will figure
- 41:38Speaker 4: in it, and of course he had a lot of evil.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Whiteis breaking out the nightsticks, but no pivle moment in
- 41:45Speaker 4: the civil rights movement basis of a very good film
- 41:48Speaker 4: called Selma.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Lisa then reads about the ball and she's explaining here
- 41:53Speaker 1: that Eliza is writing that Colonel. The colonel asked the
- 41:56Speaker 1: composer to readjust his times so that the music.
- 42:00Speaker 4: What the waltz is no longer at one two three one? Yeah,
- 42:02Speaker 4: since one two three four, and now everybody's falling over.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Yeah. It gives Eliza a chance to sneak out to
- 42:06Speaker 1: see his slave, Virgil. So so the plan was she
- 42:11Speaker 1: was going to steal Virgil from Burns because she goes, today,
- 42:13Speaker 1: I get my first slave. Thing, she's not fringing her slave,
- 42:16Speaker 1: She's bringing someone else. There's the thing. So the Simpsons
- 42:18Speaker 1: never owned a slave, No, no, no, they were holding
- 42:25Speaker 1: hiding him the whole time. They never owned him. So
- 42:29Speaker 1: many holes in this episode. What was the whole point
- 42:31Speaker 1: of why was she angry? At no point was her
- 42:33Speaker 1: family ever slave owners? How does this ship? How's how's
- 42:37Speaker 1: this past muster? That we're right? I think, I'm pretty
- 42:41Speaker 1: sure we're right because they never owned a slave. Well
- 42:45Speaker 1: that Virgil is vir slave by mister Burn and they
- 42:48Speaker 1: don't steal him. They are protecting him, and Homer is
- 42:51Speaker 1: doing his best to protect him because then he gets shoes.
- 42:55Speaker 1: But the thing is, he never owns him. This episodes sucks. Man. Okay,
- 43:01Speaker 1: let's get on the phone to Ian Maxtone Graham. This
- 43:03Speaker 1: episode sucks. Well, let's make let's make our way. Eliza
- 43:07Speaker 1: sneaks out to see Virgil, says, I'm going to go
- 43:10Speaker 1: to the north. He is, no, You're put into the south,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and she says, so it's my first time. He says,
- 43:14Speaker 1: in my fourteenth. They then get spotted by whities let's
- 43:17Speaker 1: just call them whities, and they flee to the.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Last The actual term for these the actual term for
- 43:22Speaker 4: slagh Catches was night Riders, which is a shame because
- 43:25Speaker 4: night riders are really cool to that's a cool name. Yeah,
- 43:27Speaker 4: and now it's just tainted by these fuckers.
- 43:30Speaker 1: No good at all. But then yes, they're fleeing to
- 43:32Speaker 1: the woods, and then the rest of the diary is
- 43:34Speaker 1: turned to dust. At least it has no idea what
- 43:36Speaker 1: happened to Eliza after that March. Just they go to
- 43:39Speaker 1: the library to the reference desk, and then Homer and
- 43:41Speaker 1: Bart meek I joke about them being nerds whatever. They
- 43:44Speaker 1: get to the library, there's no stuff about Eliza, but
- 43:47Speaker 1: they find something called Mabel Simpson by Mabel as a cookbook, right,
- 43:50Speaker 1: which is Eliza's mum. I'm like, what's going on here?
- 43:54Speaker 1: Why Why does Mabel look like March? She's not a simp?
- 44:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well we talked about this earlier.
- 44:03Speaker 4: I mean the fact that they're just sort of recycling
- 44:05Speaker 4: our existing characters and putting them into these situations.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Where they don't belong. But Mabel's but Mary's correct, Yeah,
- 44:11Speaker 1: in no way, she's So why does Eliza's mother look
- 44:15Speaker 1: like Marge? Look like Marge? Now? When there's no blood connection,
- 44:19Speaker 1: there's no d n A connection, because we're watching a
- 44:21Speaker 1: show called The Simpsons. This fucking episode, I like sh
- 44:27Speaker 1: they don't.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Give a like a very obvious shout out to libraries,
- 44:30Speaker 4: But I like that, you know, libraries turned out to
- 44:32Speaker 4: be a pretty good resource for finding stuff.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Well, we took the kids to the library, the Carrier
- 44:36Speaker 1: library before assuming lessons out and all in here and
- 44:38Speaker 1: there's a library on the same area, and we go
- 44:41Speaker 1: there before the similess Now they pick up like two
- 44:43Speaker 1: or three books. They've got plenty of books here, but
- 44:45Speaker 1: the idea of browsing, oh yeah yeah, like wait a minute,
- 44:49Speaker 1: I can take these home for free. Yeah, read them
- 44:51Speaker 1: and bring them back for more eager Yeah. And it
- 44:53Speaker 1: takes a good lesson about responsibilities. It's like you're not
- 44:57Speaker 1: the only one reading these books. Trade it with the respect. Yeah,
- 45:00Speaker 1: libraryes man. The kids love that one of their favorite
- 45:02Speaker 1: parts of the week now is going to the library
- 45:03Speaker 1: before swimming. You're doing well while those kids, well on you.
- 45:07Speaker 1: They then go through the less road kill or she
- 45:11Speaker 1: goes through the road killing recipes in the book first
- 45:13Speaker 1: then finds a less road killy one and it comes
- 45:15Speaker 1: with a story, and he explains that so many recipes do.
- 45:18Speaker 1: It explains that Eliza brought the slave back to their
- 45:21Speaker 1: house and on the way they came across the traveling
- 45:23Speaker 1: circus and a crusty old clown was there and he's
- 45:26Speaker 1: now part of the underclown railroad. Yea. Virgil then plays
- 45:30Speaker 1: the violin and Krusty slaps him and says the number
- 45:33Speaker 1: one rules never be better than me, and I'm pretty
- 45:34Speaker 1: bad then the bag the night riders arrive and they
- 45:38Speaker 1: tricked them in to leave what they pretend that.
- 45:41Speaker 4: They're Well, Virgil has been clowned up. That's right, she's
- 45:43Speaker 4: the beard's the youngest bearded lady of all time.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Yes. Then Marge points out there's a footnote, because least's
- 45:48Speaker 1: like she wrote all of this, and it says in
- 45:50Speaker 1: the footnote. I'll read it. It's what the footnote says.
- 45:52Speaker 1: I did say that there was a lot to it.
- 45:53Speaker 1: After the patrollers, this is what she's wrote in the diary.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Apparently in the cookbook after the patrollers left. The circus
- 45:59Speaker 1: clown made the full comment, which suggests an unusual aptitude
- 46:02Speaker 1: for predicting twenty first century currency values. What I always
- 46:05Speaker 1: ask for a nickel that's like twenty bucks in twenty
- 46:07Speaker 1: ten money, Apparently it was like ninety cents, not twenty bucks.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Stuck the actual amount. It may have been intended as humorous,
- 46:14Speaker 1: although my daughter didn't mention anyone laughing. This clown seemed
- 46:17Speaker 1: to say many things that were humorous to him, but
- 46:19Speaker 1: not to those around him, nor to me. But since
- 46:21Speaker 1: my daughter repeated them all, I thought I would record
- 46:23Speaker 1: them here. Enjoy them. People of the future. Okay whatever,
- 46:28Speaker 1: that's what we call in the business. A chuck Lurry gay.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Yeah, greed to the Big Bang theory, et cetera, cetera.
- 46:34Speaker 4: L men, Yeah, I would always have at the end
- 46:36Speaker 4: with his production company sort of logo.
- 46:39Speaker 1: A whole bunch of written stuff that you know, nudes
- 46:42Speaker 1: would freeze frame and have a look at. Yep, he
- 46:45Speaker 1: wrote the teenage mitt Ninja turtleson, didn't he, Chuck Lauri,
- 46:47Speaker 1: y oh, yeah, multi towers a guy. Yeah. Then Virgil
- 46:51Speaker 1: offers him some wheelcakes, which are now what we know
- 46:54Speaker 1: is donuts. He swears to help him. At least it
- 46:57Speaker 1: thinks her quest is fulfilled because the family are now
- 46:59Speaker 1: known as heroes because we rescue the slaves. We never
- 47:02Speaker 1: owned them. Then Black History Month show at school, I guess,
- 47:06Speaker 1: I guess. Then they do point out that she Okay,
- 47:09Speaker 1: she's like, okay, we never owned slaves. We help them.
- 47:11Speaker 1: But then Homer sold out a slave. That's why she
- 47:13Speaker 1: was Yeah, but then Marge married us. I don't care enough.
- 47:22Speaker 4: I don't know with not that's not that we're not
- 47:26Speaker 4: that invested. We're going to set up flow charts and
- 47:28Speaker 4: family trees.
- 47:28Speaker 1: No, it's now Black history months show at the school
- 47:31Speaker 1: coming soon March. Ralph does his talk about Martin. Luther
- 47:35Speaker 1: King says he had dreams with Almo and Buzz light
- 47:37Speaker 1: Year and yes, you're stupid. Off stage, Ralph, that's basically
- 47:40Speaker 1: the gag now. Lisa then says, the Simpsons the first
- 47:43Speaker 1: Family of Freedom, and we're gonna gag if the computer
- 47:46Speaker 1: starts closing down.
- 47:48Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, because it's getting up getting an unintended upgrade
- 47:52Speaker 4: or unasked for upgrade. Who among us has not been there.
- 47:56Speaker 1: With that shit. Quite often, I'll turn my laptop on
- 47:59Speaker 1: and it's like we did an update. I'm like, you're off.
- 48:02Speaker 1: How'd you update? Yeah? My phone will do it occasionally,
- 48:06Speaker 1: And now my phone is really slow. I update my phone.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Now my phone's fast. Yeah. Yeah, never update your phone.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Just don't do it. Maybe you don't even have a phone.
- 48:13Speaker 1: The updates are there to slow that shit down, so
- 48:15Speaker 1: you gotta get a new one. By the way, I
- 48:18Speaker 1: just want to throw this out there.
- 48:20Speaker 4: I should really, I've got a Wikipedia right in front
- 48:21Speaker 4: of me on my phone so I could double check this.
- 48:24Speaker 4: But apparently I heard a story or a rumor the
- 48:27Speaker 4: famous I Have a Dream.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Speech by doctor Martin Luther King Jr.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Apparently he like improvised the second half of it, like
- 48:34Speaker 4: it's one of the most profound speeches in American history.
- 48:38Speaker 1: And from probably why it works.
- 48:39Speaker 4: From what I heard, it's like he started doing his
- 48:41Speaker 4: speech and it's like, oh, they're not with me, and
- 48:43Speaker 4: he just came up with shit on the fly, starting
- 48:45Speaker 4: with I have a.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Dream, Like, so kep it with I have a dream? Apparently, Yeah,
- 48:49Speaker 1: should I actually check out? Or will we just move on?
- 48:52Speaker 1: We can do a.
- 48:52Speaker 4: Footnote, we could do a foot but anyway, let's continue.
- 48:57Speaker 1: We've already had Ralph and now we're on to Lisa.
- 48:59Speaker 1: She's upgrading. She tells at least that the Eliza story.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Everyone claps conclusions Simpsons equals heroes, new perspectives on donut origins,
- 49:05Speaker 1: great target a slash a plus, and then Millhouse arrogantly claps,
- 49:10Speaker 1: entertaining fairy tales always are and he has a diary
- 49:14Speaker 1: of his great great great great great grand fa far Milford,
- 49:17Speaker 1: who explains on ab L twenty second he heard a
- 49:19Speaker 1: commotion from the Simpsons house and Colonel Burns is there.
- 49:23Speaker 1: He sees his cake rings and he swore on oath
- 49:25Speaker 1: not to tell you where he is. He says, everybody
- 49:27Speaker 1: has a price, and his price was a pleasant surprise. Incorrect.
- 49:31Speaker 4: Yeah, but he's also while he's doing that, he's doing
- 49:34Speaker 4: what I guess slave owners and slave bars used to
- 49:37Speaker 4: do to potential purchase in terms of like checking out
- 49:41Speaker 4: their teeth, checking out their muscle mass, all that.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Ye yeah, okay, yeah that was lost on me. Yeah
- 49:45Speaker 1: that's all I know. I get the villa is a
- 49:48Speaker 1: better episode under this episode, oh for sure. But that
- 49:51Speaker 1: seems to be the case for most things now. Yes,
- 49:57Speaker 1: so many things have the will be better, but they're
- 49:59Speaker 1: just not not anymore. Projectail Mary. Fine, Oh yeah, that's good.
- 50:05Speaker 1: That's something to slip through the cracks. That's the exception.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Who's still got Project Mary. It's still good, it's still good.
- 50:12Speaker 5: I would say your price is a pleasant suppress.
- 50:17Speaker 1: That's exactly my price. Your man, Very Jolio is in
- 50:21Speaker 1: father Now, Eliza, hold your tongue.
- 50:24Speaker 5: Don't worry, I'll handle this one, young lady. In this
- 50:28Speaker 5: day and age, women only express their opinions and diaries
- 50:31Speaker 5: to be found long after they're gone. From the day
- 50:34Speaker 5: you were born, you were brought up to crave the
- 50:36Speaker 5: approval of a man and I know you really want
- 50:40Speaker 5: to be a good girl, and good girls a scene
- 50:43Speaker 5: in that heard.
- 50:45Speaker 1: And she just concedes and says that's it, and that's
- 50:47Speaker 1: the end of Eliza as a girl anyway. Then Homer
- 50:50Speaker 1: says he's in the tournip shed and he gives me
- 50:53Speaker 1: a new pair of shoes. Then Milford says, I couldn't
- 50:56Speaker 1: look Aliza in the eyes anymore after that. That's because
- 50:59Speaker 1: I drank whild water and went blind. Lisa is shattered
- 51:01Speaker 1: by this news, and she goes to leave. Millie says,
- 51:04Speaker 1: take it outside because it's still got three Jackie Robertson's
- 51:06Speaker 1: and a lot of Obama's. YadA YadA, YadA. Went out
- 51:10Speaker 1: the library again, and Lisa needs and I thought obama
- 51:13Speaker 1: gag was what does he say that? Lewis says something
- 51:16Speaker 1: at the very end of it, precisely, or something without
- 51:20Speaker 1: the library and Lisa needs. She's like she's pleading for
- 51:23Speaker 1: an elizas book. I needs something. He needs to enclosure
- 51:25Speaker 1: here on this, and Burns and says that visit Colonel
- 51:28Speaker 1: was his dad. Whatever, that's it. That's the end of
- 51:29Speaker 1: Burns here. And the worker suggests go to the film vault,
- 51:33Speaker 1: and then other works say where's that she goes? That's
- 51:34Speaker 1: where we hooked up a Christmas party. I'm like, that's
- 51:36Speaker 1: so cool, Simpsons writers to chicks hooking up at Chris Lisa.
- 51:41Speaker 1: That puts in the Springfield Historical Society Oral History Project
- 51:44Speaker 1: nineteen fifty two, and it's an interview with e Liza,
- 51:46Speaker 1: who apparently was married to Milford because he's in the
- 51:48Speaker 1: background the photo, together with her classes on good catch Missed.
- 51:52Speaker 1: It says that there was an injustice as a kid
- 51:54Speaker 1: that she sat and happened, and the pat on her
- 51:57Speaker 1: head haunted her forever, which was Colonel Burns, and Lisa
- 52:00Speaker 1: thinks that there's now no noble Simpson. I was like,
- 52:03Speaker 1: it's kind of a shit ending to Liz's life. Oh yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 1: maybe fucked over. Thanks with the addition here, I appreciate that.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Lisa then says that you know, her dad was right.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I should have quit when I was ahead, and crab
- 52:17Speaker 1: Bus says things turned out well for Virgil, and Homer
- 52:20Speaker 1: says to tell us or I'll meet things uncomfortable, and
- 52:22Speaker 1: he does by turning the heat down from eighty five
- 52:24Speaker 1: to eighty three, which is about twenty nine to twenty
- 52:27Speaker 1: eight I've.
- 52:27Speaker 4: Already turned it down to eighty two because that was
- 52:29Speaker 4: one of the trivia questions that I didn't ask you.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Oh, okay, eighty two. Then yeah, what was tweet until
- 52:33Speaker 1: about twenty eight twenty seven? Still hot? Oh look when
- 52:36Speaker 1: you when you've got a few miles out of Florida,
- 52:38Speaker 1: like the Florida heat, it's like, uh oh, the temperage
- 52:41Speaker 1: is not quite right. But he says that Mabel knew
- 52:43Speaker 1: her husband well, so she has some payback pie ready
- 52:46Speaker 1: for him, and she was in there with a gun
- 52:48Speaker 1: and she says to Colonel Burns, have over seen you again.
- 52:50Speaker 1: You'll be a Memphis bell pointed at he is doodle
- 52:53Speaker 1: as junatily yeap. Colonel then says, one day history will
- 52:56Speaker 1: be told by my descendants. Ken Rick Burns, Yeah you know.
- 53:00Speaker 4: Ken Burns is no Here's the maker of so many
- 53:03Speaker 4: documentaries and a very distinctive style of documentary. He did
- 53:06Speaker 4: maybe his best known as the Civil War. And he
- 53:08Speaker 4: always gets great voice actors and really big name actors
- 53:11Speaker 4: sort of do narration. It's usually they're grabbing letters from
- 53:14Speaker 4: people who was like my dearest Dabi girl, here I
- 53:18Speaker 4: am at the front and we're about too fart against
- 53:20Speaker 4: the enemy. As our lord ma Mosk could let you
- 53:24Speaker 4: know what I am thinking of you and the life
- 53:26Speaker 4: we could have had together. If our die, I'll be
- 53:28Speaker 4: watching down on you from the heavens. So let's watch
- 53:30Speaker 4: his name nineteen.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Night ah Man.
- 53:34Speaker 4: Yeah, there really well made, and he's done a whole
- 53:37Speaker 4: bunch and a whole bunch of different topics like baseball,
- 53:39Speaker 4: like jazz. Yeah, Ken Burns, fantastic documentarian.
- 53:42Speaker 1: You told me about Beatles Anthology. I finally watched the
- 53:44Speaker 1: episode eight, and now it's so good. That shit's dope. Man,
- 53:46Speaker 1: Holy shit, it's so good. I was like, I remember
- 53:50Speaker 1: watching the first episode maybe six months ago, and I
- 53:52Speaker 1: was like, this isn't for me. And I watched, I'm like,
- 53:53Speaker 1: this is unbelievable. Hold from their voices, absolutely. I love
- 53:57Speaker 1: how their stories clash. They have no idea that what happened.
- 54:00Speaker 1: That was so fucked out of it by that point.
- 54:02Speaker 1: At one point, it was like, we played shea Stadium
- 54:05Speaker 1: twice and then George Harrison. Have you seen George Harrison
- 54:08Speaker 1: is a clip on Twitter? My book man, I might
- 54:10Speaker 1: show you, and George Harsh is like, we played it twice.
- 54:12Speaker 1: He seems genuine concerned. I don't remember this, but after
- 54:17Speaker 1: watching this documentary, Lenon will always be my favorite Beatle.
- 54:21Speaker 1: But if you said to me, which Beatle would you
- 54:22Speaker 1: like to hang out with the most, it's fucking Ringo. Man.
- 54:24Speaker 1: He seems like a really happy It seems like he
- 54:26Speaker 1: just he knew his place, he knew he wasn't one
- 54:29Speaker 1: of the main stars, but he was just happy to
- 54:30Speaker 1: be a part of the ride.
- 54:32Speaker 4: And also, I mean, he's a fucking Beatle. It's not
- 54:35Speaker 4: like it's three Beatles and Ringo. It's like he's one
- 54:39Speaker 4: of the Beatles. He's earned his spot in the Beatles.
- 54:41Speaker 4: He's a fucking good drama.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Yeah. He just seems pretty cash and he seems pretty
- 54:44Speaker 1: cod Yeah.
- 54:45Speaker 4: And even now he's like, you know, in his early
- 54:47Speaker 4: eighties or whatever, looks in pretty good. He married Barbara Bark,
- 54:50Speaker 4: a bond girl. I'm pretty sure they're still together or
- 54:54Speaker 4: not sure. Anyway, you Ringo star, I would probably want
- 54:58Speaker 4: to hang out with George, even though he seemed like grumpy.
- 55:01Speaker 1: You could see, well, I'm grumpy crank.
- 55:05Speaker 4: But he also saims like a bit of a seeker,
- 55:06Speaker 4: kind of interesting. It has some interesting combos. Get really
- 55:09Speaker 4: baked with George and just you know, have some three
- 55:10Speaker 4: Am in the dorm room combos.
- 55:12Speaker 1: I was so blown away by how openly George and Sage,
- 55:16Speaker 1: John and Paula's dismissed George's abilities, like now where the
- 55:20Speaker 1: songwriters and and I think McCarty says at one point
- 55:23Speaker 1: he goes and he bought some stuff. He has some
- 55:24Speaker 1: good songs. I'm like, motherfucker wrote something.
- 55:29Speaker 4: You're the Beatles guy here, so forgive me, correct me
- 55:32Speaker 4: if I'm wrong. George Harrison wrote, here comes the Sun.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Yes, George Harrison, let me becomes the Son and something
- 55:37Speaker 1: on the same album, let me repeat that.
- 55:39Speaker 4: George Harrison wrote, here Comes the Son. It's one of
- 55:42Speaker 4: the most beautiful songs ever written.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I love it. But poor McCarty says he had some
- 55:45Speaker 1: good stuff, and I was like, what, motherfucker you wrote
- 55:49Speaker 1: wonderful Christmas stuff, which I meant I like. But let's
- 55:56Speaker 1: not be dizzer George Harrison here it was just anywhere
- 56:00Speaker 1: so good stuff like say that, well, you're you're the
- 56:03Speaker 1: one we like, You're the You're the nice beat all
- 56:06Speaker 1: there with these nineteen ninety two mullets and ship.
- 56:10Speaker 4: By the way, the Beatles anthology not directed by Ken
- 56:12Speaker 4: and or Rick. No fantastic, but a really good doctor
- 56:15Speaker 4: on from our pals at Disney plus friend of the Pod.
- 56:18Speaker 1: I will say one thing though, every episode ends with
- 56:20Speaker 1: the cliffhanger. It's very Netflix, very very streaming it. Yeah, yeah,
- 56:25Speaker 1: I know, but it's just the way it's like, and
- 56:27Speaker 1: then shit happened. Anyway, Well, we should probably we should
- 56:34Speaker 1: do like an let's do a limited series on the
- 56:37Speaker 1: Beatles anthology. Maybe maybe or like just an episode. Yeah,
- 56:41Speaker 1: I'm not sure we could tell anything that they can't
- 56:43Speaker 1: tell the document and then show.
- 56:45Speaker 4: It's like it'll be like the Chris Farley on the
- 56:47Speaker 4: thing that was remember when you're remember the Beats did this?
- 56:50Speaker 1: It was awesome. But it would be fun to sort
- 56:54Speaker 1: of just talk about the way it's directed and stuff. Yeah,
- 56:56Speaker 1: I'm sure we'll think about it.
- 56:57Speaker 2: I knew you'd break your promise taken Vergil to freedom.
- 57:01Speaker 1: You defied your husband for me. Man, this is the sixties. Now,
- 57:06Speaker 1: let's take you to.
- 57:07Speaker 2: A place where a black man can blend inim Canada.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Then she takes him to Canada, but she needs a disguise.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Lincoln gives her the hat. It calls her a pop
- 57:16Speaker 1: bellied stove. Yeah, okay, and then he proposes on the
- 57:20Speaker 1: way to Canada. She got one of Harm's shoes in
- 57:22Speaker 1: a divorce settlement maybe with Virgil, then lived the rest
- 57:26Speaker 1: of their days in peace. Virgil had no last name,
- 57:28Speaker 1: so he kept Simpson. I'm like she got divorced from
- 57:31Speaker 1: Simpson anyway. And the son was Abraham, which who was
- 57:34Speaker 1: grandpa's great grandfather. And Lisa was happy that she's now
- 57:37Speaker 1: got the honor of being one sixty fourth black. Homi says,
- 57:39Speaker 1: I guess that's why I'm cool. She says, lisas that's
- 57:42Speaker 1: why my jazz is so smooth, and no, no Homoici
- 57:45Speaker 1: Bart says that's why I'm cool. Homa says, this is
- 57:46Speaker 1: why I earn less than my coworkers. And I was like,
- 57:48Speaker 1: oh so so edgy Simpsons, I didn't mind that gang.
- 57:55Speaker 4: If it was surrounded by better stuff, Yeah, possibly would
- 57:59Speaker 4: have landed a bit.
- 58:00Speaker 1: It's a bit more effective. Comes out and says, well,
- 58:02Speaker 1: the reason I didn't tell you till now is because
- 58:04Speaker 1: our generation, how do you call it racist? Yeah? That
- 58:06Speaker 1: felt very on the nose, yes, And then Marge says, well,
- 58:10Speaker 1: no one cares about my father being French Bouvier and
- 58:12Speaker 1: Homer says, that's why I love drinking. She says, but
- 58:14Speaker 1: you have no blood relation. I'm like, that's the logic
- 58:17Speaker 1: of your story. That's the whole point of this episode.
- 58:22Speaker 1: That's the end of that one. Ah, fucking stinker had
- 58:24Speaker 1: some good gags, but just a stinker, just so many
- 58:26Speaker 1: convoluted plot holes and.
- 58:28Speaker 4: Just I'm going to say it was smelly rather than
- 58:30Speaker 4: a stinker. There have been better episodes, certainly, but there.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Were one or two. Yeah, there were a handful of.
- 58:37Speaker 4: Good gags in there that I enjoyed, and much like me,
- 58:41Speaker 4: it had potential that have failed to live up.
- 58:43Speaker 1: They took a swing. I like when they take a
- 58:44Speaker 1: swing for me. This just there was too many missus,
- 58:46Speaker 1: too many foul balls this one. Okay, too many whiffs, Yeah,
- 58:48Speaker 1: too many whiffs. What do we learn bomb? What do
- 58:51Speaker 1: you learn from the episode with Davis?
- 58:52Speaker 4: I learned the identity finally, of the Pittsburgh poisoner.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Is an actual thing. Have you ever did you google it?
- 59:00Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure there's no Pittsburgh poys or they're probably
- 59:02Speaker 1: I love when killers get given names like that though.
- 59:04Speaker 1: That's so good. When we watched s for you. They've
- 59:07Speaker 1: always got like, you know, the Brooklyn Brawl. I love
- 59:10Speaker 1: the Brooklyn. Whatever they add names to it, don't give
- 59:13Speaker 1: them a name, then then they're gonna have been part
- 59:15Speaker 1: of issue forever.
- 59:16Speaker 4: Let's apparently I haven't been up on the New Dexter
- 59:21Speaker 4: reboots or whatever, but apparently there's Dexter Resurrection, which brings
- 59:24Speaker 4: back Dexter the serial Killer. It's god like Umer Furman
- 59:27Speaker 4: in it and Peter Dinglish.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I watch pop fiction, by the way, in four K
- 59:31Speaker 1: nice the Blood, the blood, details of Marvel's Breen's on the.
- 59:35Speaker 4: Car, fucked out, Rebuglan shit, the just rubbing it in now.
- 59:39Speaker 4: But apparently in the upcoming season of the New Dexter,
- 59:42Speaker 4: it's Poisoner as a person oh for real. Martha Grinder
- 59:44Speaker 4: from eighteen fifteen eight and sixty six Notice to Pittsburgh
- 59:47Speaker 4: Poisoner or Poisoner of Gray's Alley was an American serial
- 59:50Speaker 4: killer hanged on January nineteenth, eighteen sixty six, for using
- 59:54Speaker 4: arsenic to murder neighbors and acquaintances in Pittsburgh. She poisoned
- 59:58Speaker 4: victims while acting as a trust nurse or a friend, and.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Her name was Martha Grinder Yeah. Wow, she grinded the
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: arsenic into the ingredients of Wow. Well, I thought I
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: learned the see I didn't learn something. This episode got misinformation,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: but they got the sex wrong. They said what they
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: say a girl, yea Abigai, Well you don't know their
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: gender identity. Abigail is a girl's name right there? Pretty much?
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Yeah in most cases, yes, just saw that Abigail. Male's
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: out there, abber males. All the male Cameron's out there,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: go damn it, Cameron Diaz, Taylor's or the Taylor's. Well,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Lee's on you girls and boy Lee's that's true.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: We mentioned Valentine's earlier starring Taylor Swift and Taylor Laudner. Yeah,
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: but Taylor Laudner in her life Sorry, Twilight, we're.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Talking about him. You know who he is?
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Yeah, the wolf guy got Yeah, he was Jacob got
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: married and his wife's name is Taylor.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: So now it's Taylor and Taylor Lautner. Ah, that's confusing.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: But Taylor Swift and Taylor Lutner we're going out at
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: the time. I hope they named their child Taylor Junior,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Taylor Life and Taylor Taylor Taylor Hife and Taylor coma junior,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: teach you what did I learn? What I learned that
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: he makes the own Graham ain't good at trying to
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: rewrite Simpsons history. Apologies, I just thought this episode had
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: a lot of plot holes. Well it's not just me
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: and who else? Billy Kimball. Yeah, he's Mike Reast. But
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: that's what we learned from this episode. Indeed, and never
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: to watch it again. From forward, your names will be
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: all right. It's time for the Guy Davis New Name Championship.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: That current leader board stands at this first position Philip J.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Hawkins on nineteen, second position, Clever Kyle on ten, and
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: third position Nathan Briggs on eight.
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: To take it away, To begin with a little bit
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: of a disclaimer, I'd like to be sort of pinpoint
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: accurate with the new names and things like that. I
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: like to dop my's and cross my t's. Yeah, in
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: this case, not quite the case. I like the names,
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: but they've got some iffy sort of foundation which we'll
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: get into. I guess stick this melly uh. One point
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: goes to like a Virgin Freed for the very first time.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Brackets Um, you can do it again and sing it
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: like a Virgil Freed for the very first time, go back,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I want that. Ooh you're don't have that? Oh yeah,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: oh that's right. Yeah, lack of Virgil. Ooh, freed for
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: the very first time.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: Hill, we could do that for the reason, God, let's not.
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: Here's the thing though, as we pointed out during this episode,
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: this is not Virgil's first.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Radio No, it's not, indeed, no, but I liked it
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: so much that I gave it one point. And who'd
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: that point go to? Heath? Applebee Apple? How do you
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: like those Applebee's? Exactly?
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Heath is on two points one Unheath.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: Well, Donheath speaking of two points, two points goes to
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: twenty two minutes.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: A slave, that would be Mike Salter salty, Yeah, salta
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: ex salts. He is now on nine points.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: You're on that one salted. And as also we pointed out,
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: twelve years.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: A slave had not been released by this time. No,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: twenty twelve. I'm pretty sure. Yeah, was it twenty twelve?
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I believe I know why my brain just think that's
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: in twenty twelve. I haven't because of twelve years of slave.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: You could google me drill it right now. Years I
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: saw it with Nikola, and I was with Nikola when
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: I was twenty thirteen. Close. Yeah, it's funny, how you do.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: There's somebody come out the other day. No, we're looking
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: at something and I was like, I was inside me
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: and I think it was I was like, I feel
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: like that's like twenty years old, that movie, and Nicholas
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: She's like, it's literally to twenty So how did you do?
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know. My brain just knows years closely,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: close enough, you know, close enough is good enough. Yeah,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: so that's two points, yeap, and three points goes to
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: me being a Tarantino head. Jang do unschained? Well done.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: That's a I think that's the thing. By the way,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: that had been done twice. It had And the second
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: one was Mike Salt, which is why he only got
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: the two points. The first one was Nathan Briggs Briggsy
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: yes on Brisy, three points to you, yes, because you
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: sent that through to me and I was like, oh,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: there's two here, and I went up in order. Briezy
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: was first, who got who got their their name in first?
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: And this case Frizzy, well what Bruce is now second?
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: What well done? Brigsy? Brigs is now outright second? And
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: eleven points. He is eight points behind. But there's still
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: like ten episodes left this season, so they're still just happened.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: But yes, so well done, Briezy smashing it, climbing up
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: that he went, I swear you from zero to eleven
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: just like that. I'm gonna start trying how phil ja
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Hawks is sitting there starting to pucker a little bit like,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: wait a minute, this is my title. I don't want
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: to think of puckering. What do we call it? The
