- 0:14Hello and welcome to Arguing Ever After.
- 0:16I am Luke and this is my wonderful wife, Amber.
- 0:20Hello. Together we're the Lord and Lady
- 0:22who lock horns. The count and Countess of
- 0:24contention. The Duke and Duchess of
- 0:26Disagreement. And the king and queen of
- 0:28quarrels. In this podcast, we argue about
- 0:32all things big and small. We will use the very scientific
- 0:35method of letting the audience vote determine who the winner
- 0:39is. Many of our topics are
- 0:41frequently submitted by our listeners, which we actually
- 0:44like and need, so if you have something you want us to battle
- 0:47about, please share it with us at arguingeverafter@gmail.com.
- 0:53OK, here we are. It's our 28th episode.
- 0:59That's. Right.
- 1:00So we did over half a year. We did.
- 1:03We got over half a year. We released all of our not yet
- 1:07published material so we no longer have a secret stash of
- 1:11episodes. You guys have seen them all and
- 1:13heard them all. You have, you've seen them all
- 1:15and heard them all. And the reason we had to use a
- 1:18secret stash was because we had said before Luke was having
- 1:22surgery. Which I did on my throat and
- 1:25people have told me my voice sounds more resonant than ever
- 1:28before. Oh, lucky you, listeners.
- 1:33It's also a bit sore and doesn't work well when I talk for a long
- 1:37time, so this could work to your advantage today.
- 1:40It could, but you just so you know, there isn't like a mystery
- 1:44show where I did have a podcast without Luke.
- 1:48It didn't happen. You wanted to I, I really I, I
- 1:52don't know, I, I wanted to see, but you know, there's an another
- 1:57surgery in your future. So who knows?
- 1:58There's still time. There's still time.
- 2:01Still time, but welcome back, Luke, to thank you.
- 2:05The land of the talking. I don't know.
- 2:08That's fair. Yeah.
- 2:10I took a week and a half off of talking for the most part and
- 2:13eating food. I was drinking protein shakes to
- 2:18survive for like a week. It was pretty terrible to be
- 2:22honest with you. But we were still able to argue
- 2:24even without you having a voice. So.
- 2:27Yeah, well, you can write notes. It still happened, but yeah, we
- 2:34kind of didn't do much on the podcast during that time, and
- 2:37that's fine because it was a time of healing for Luke and a
- 2:42time of a lot of other things for me, so.
- 2:44We both did some editing and publishing stuff for the radio.
- 2:47Yes, yeah, we're now like fully on the radio.
- 2:51Which is cool on 94.1 FM, WFNU, Frogtown Radio.
- 2:57Yeah, yeah. And I really like being a part
- 2:59of that station. It amplifies local voices, which
- 3:04it's pretty great. I mean, so much of the radio is
- 3:08these huge corporations. Big yeah.
- 3:11Yeah. And I think it's just awesome to
- 3:15be able to hear something maybe a little different and hear
- 3:18people's thoughts locally is. And it's a non profit which is
- 3:22cool. That's also cool.
- 3:23Gotta like that. You gotta like that.
- 3:25You gotta like knowing that the money isn't running it.
- 3:28So yeah. So besides that, what's let's
- 3:35start with, we have a new listener.
- 3:38Oh, we do. That's right.
- 3:39And it's an exciting. One.
- 3:41Yes, yes. Very exciting.
- 3:43We got a listener from Ukraine. Which is amazing.
- 3:47That's. Amazing.
- 3:48Like somebody in a war-torn country found the time to find
- 3:52our podcast I. Know.
- 3:54And listen to it. Yeah, yeah, because of that.
- 3:58They were having an argument with their spouse.
- 4:00Maybe, maybe, perhaps. Or they wanted to learn how to
- 4:04argue in English. That's possible, I suppose.
- 4:09Maybe they're planning to move to Minnesota and they want to
- 4:11get the accent right. I feel like that's not as easy
- 4:16to do. I doubt it though.
- 4:18I doubt it. Well, in honor of Luke's
- 4:21tradition of welcoming our new listener.
- 4:25And not great accents. Here's how you would say hello
- 4:29to somebody if you were in Ukraine.
- 4:33Private, yes. Yes, hello and welcome to our
- 4:38podcast. We're excited to have you.
- 4:40You couldn't listen to anything, but you chose to listen to us.
- 4:45So hopefully we're giving you something worthwhile or
- 4:47something to just, I don't know, have on in the background, you
- 4:51know, there's sometimes. You know what episode they tuned
- 4:53in on? No, I don't, but I know they had
- 4:57to have tuned in within the last two weeks.
- 5:00Which I mean, I guess technically they could have gone
- 5:02to any episode. Yeah, I can't see.
- 5:05I wonder if they were like searching for pizza arguments.
- 5:09They could have been. Because we did have one.
- 5:11That was our most recent episode that was released, not our most
- 5:14recent argument. Very true.
- 5:16We did actually argue about pizza yesterday though, didn't
- 5:18we? A little that's.
- 5:20Possible. I don't recall.
- 5:22Luke wanted to not cook dinner. Oh, and I can't eat pizza and
- 5:26you were being a pill. I didn't want pizza.
- 5:29You you also can't eat pizza, so.
- 5:31No, no, not about the pizza, but about dinner in general.
- 5:34You were like but I don't want that.
- 5:36I just don't want pizza 'cause we're going to have it soon.
- 5:38But anyhow, there was also other reasons why.
- 5:43I don't know what else you were all doing yesterday, but anyhow,
- 5:46but we had an argument about pizza and it wasn't the tapping.
- 5:50So if you're interested, go back to our other episode.
- 5:54You can listen to that we have. And vote against Amber because
- 5:58pineapple doesn't. No.
- 6:01On a pizza. No spoilers as to all the things
- 6:03we talked about, you know, go back and listen.
- 6:06Go back and listen. So.
- 6:10Now, Speaking of local, while we were talking about the radio, it
- 6:14feels only right to address where we live and the state of
- 6:20the state. As we've been talking lately,
- 6:22although we don't want to get too political or delve into any
- 6:26sort of ideologies or, you know, something like that.
- 6:31We do live in Minnesota in the Twin Cities, which is Saint Paul
- 6:34in Minneapolis. Born and raised.
- 6:36I was born in Minneapolis. I was born in Saint Paul.
- 6:41For anyone who maybe needs to take a break from what's going
- 6:44on locally, you can feel free to Fast forward Fast forward
- 6:48anytime. I don't know you, you're going
- 6:49to control of your own buttons. Or turn us off.
- 6:52But we are going to get to an argument.
- 6:54But we, yeah, like Luke said, we definitely could not let today's
- 6:59current times pass without acknowledging.
- 7:03If you're not living under a rock, which I feel like is
- 7:05anyone that's using the Internet as a method of entertainment.
- 7:08So probably most of our listeners and and viewers
- 7:11probably know about what's happening in Minnesota with
- 7:15Immigrations and Customs Enforcement or ICE.
- 7:18And is it Customs and Border, CBP, Customs and Border Patrol
- 7:24and the IT totally insane state of our cities, which is, you
- 7:30know, it looks often like, like a battleground.
- 7:34Yeah, yeah. I mean, I do know a lot of
- 7:37people aren't seeing it because it's not in there necessarily
- 7:42near them. They might have seen like the
- 7:44big news article, sure, but. We're seeing everything.
- 7:47We're seeing everything. And we're seeing stuff like on
- 7:50our friends social media feeds from their own recordings of
- 7:55like crazy stuff and traffic stops.
- 7:58Like at my work today, there was a impromptu like, like, like you
- 8:06know how you see checkpoints in the movies where they like they
- 8:10block off of main thruways so that everyone has to.
- 8:14They did that in like a couple blocks from my work.
- 8:16It was crazy. Yeah, they are, in fact, pulling
- 8:20people out of vehicles randomly. And people in the Twin Cities
- 8:27are scared. It doesn't matter who they are,
- 8:29what they look like. Lots of people are scared.
- 8:32Today I went to a doctor's appointment that I go to
- 8:35regularly, like every week, every month.
- 8:38Very, very frequently. I go to this doctor and there's
- 8:42always a lot of people. We live in a very diverse area,
- 8:45but. All for allergy.
- 8:47For my allergy shots, I'm just like you.
- 8:48Don't go to a doctor all that often.
- 8:50All the time, all the time. But I noticed that the lobby was
- 8:55like virtually empty, which it never is.
- 8:58And and I noted something and the woman who was checking me in
- 9:02did say, yes, people are cancelling appointments because
- 9:05they're scared to go. And again, it does it.
- 9:09It's not necessarily whether or not they're citizens or anything
- 9:12like that. They're scared because it's very
- 9:15random. Well, not random.
- 9:18It's not random, it's pretty much anyone that's of non
- 9:21Caucasian appearance. Essentially could be stopped so
- 9:25people are very scared. And we have lots of friends you
- 9:29do too, that we grew up with who are carrying their passports and
- 9:33birth certificates around. And it's a scary time right now
- 9:37'cause the the rules aren't being followed.
- 9:42Like, you know that you're not supposed to stop people without
- 9:47a warrant or probable cause. Or.
- 9:50Due process, all this stuff is like sort of being ignored and
- 9:55it's it's a scary time to live through.
- 10:00It is scary, surreal. The other thing is we really do
- 10:09love our neighbors a lot here in Minnesota.
- 10:11So it feels so different. And I think that's a that's a
- 10:16hard thing for people in general is we really rally around
- 10:21community. And so when our community is
- 10:23hurting, it's difficult for many people, some more so than
- 10:26others. But anyhow, like I said, we
- 10:29could not, we couldn't let this pass without saying anything.
- 10:32And we don't, we're not going to get into political, but just
- 10:34know we're going through. We're living in political.
- 10:40We're going through it and we are sending our love and our
- 10:43support to all who are going through this time.
- 10:50And I don't have any great solutions but.
- 10:53No, but that's hold your people close to you because in the end
- 10:57that's all that really matters. And it could go anywhere.
- 11:00So now if you are rewinding, now is a really good time to stop
- 11:05or. Wind up did they stop talking?
- 11:07About it caught up about it 'cause we also want to talk
- 11:11about fun things where, you know, like we.
- 11:13Yeah, I could use a. Oh yeah.
- 11:16A little break from that tense and taut and fraught reality,
- 11:22right? Now yes, me too.
- 11:23Me too. And I'm.
- 11:24Sure. Yeah.
- 11:24And since we haven't podcasted in a while, I could use a little
- 11:27extra discussion with you, my lady, even though we're going to
- 11:31be fighting. We are going to be fighting.
- 11:35I like that connection. Oh, good.
- 11:38That's good because it's there a lot I do, I do.
- 11:43I know I definitely, I've missed it for sure.
- 11:46So I'm glad we're back at it and who knows, but life is going to
- 11:50get real wonky again, so we might have to bank a few more.
- 11:55I don't have to record some extras I think.
- 11:57I think so. I think so.
- 12:00So one of the things though, that has happened while Luke was
- 12:05in recovery at home, but like recovering from his procedure,
- 12:11he had said something about like, well, he'll be watching a
- 12:14lot of TV and things like that. And so for a while, there have
- 12:20been kind of concepts, it seems like, of saving stuff to watch
- 12:24until then, 'cause we couldn't talk, he couldn't even leave
- 12:27because there was risk if he got sick that he would then cough
- 12:33and hurt his throat a lot more. So I don't know what the warning
- 12:37is for anyone who might be going through a tonsillectomy.
- 12:40What is that what it's called? It feels real wrong.
- 12:42The bonus material, so I don't know which one hurt more because
- 12:45I'm not I'm, I don't have a camera inside my throat.
- 12:48I had something called a pharyngo or a pharyngeoplasty,
- 12:54which was the main reason they were in there.
- 12:56And while the doctor was in there he said I might as well
- 13:00remove what's left of your tonsils because I'm going to be
- 13:04in there anyway. So it was two things, one is
- 13:06deeper down in the airway and 1 is up at the back of the mouth,
- 13:09right? And both are fairly terrible.
- 13:13Right, right. And.
- 13:15I'm making sure his microphone's on right now because he sounds
- 13:18quieter than he usually would. Well, I'm certainly quieter than
- 13:21I usually would be. And I'm trying.
- 13:24I don't know, but yeah, so we had, we had known he wouldn't be
- 13:27able to talk, but they don't want, they didn't want him to go
- 13:30out because if he got sick, imagine having a sore throat on
- 13:34top of having. Strep or I would have died.
- 13:37On top of having stitching. I mean, I couldn't eat like I, I
- 13:40couldn't talk or eat. I had to.
- 13:42It was ice chips for most of day one.
- 13:46I don't even remember if I could drink protein shakes yet.
- 13:48No, no. And then day 2 I think I
- 13:50graduated to ice cream and maybe very cold protein shakes, but it
- 13:55was like I couldn't take more than a tiny little even sip.
- 13:58Yes, Luke was very, very hungry and.
- 14:01Yeah, very hungry. And hang hangry maybe?
- 14:05Yeah, yeah. And of course I felt bad.
- 14:07I'm. Still a little bit hungry.
- 14:08I know, I know you are. Because I still can't eat.
- 14:10Like, I don't know lots of stuff.
- 14:12I can't eat anything that requires a lot of chewing.
- 14:16So like cheeseburgers, tacos, I don't know, large, large things
- 14:21that you have to put in your mouth.
- 14:22Or scratchy things. But so because he was stuck kind
- 14:26of in the same space I was there and our daughter, well, she was
- 14:30sick too. It was, it was, it's been a
- 14:32couple few weeks around this household.
- 14:35Someone's been sick or recovering of something this
- 14:38whole time. But anyhow, because he couldn't
- 14:41eat, she and I felt bad about eating in front of him, so
- 14:45therefore we weren't eating much either.
- 14:47So you guys were hangry too? We were hangry too.
- 14:50The whole household was hangry. But yeah, we were purposefully
- 14:54not eating the things we wanted to, so it was interesting.
- 14:59I'd be like, is he going to sleep yet?
- 15:00It's 10:00 at night. Oh, good, I can eat some food.
- 15:03Oh my God. So if anyone ever really
- 15:08wonders, you know, they fight so much.
- 15:10Does she really love him? Yes.
- 15:12I waited till 10:00 to eat actual food.
- 15:15She does multiple times. It's true.
- 15:18So. But yeah, I lived through it.
- 15:21You lost some weight. I didn't.
- 15:23I don't know how I. Mean, I want you to know that
- 15:26that was not the primary objective.
- 15:27For sure. Yep, Yep.
- 15:30I did weigh in at my claimed podcast weight.
- 15:33Well, that's exciting. 185 I got down to it for the first time in
- 15:37many years. I'm sure that I will get back up
- 15:41there as I continue to be able to eat again.
- 15:44Yeah, yeah. It's like every new thing.
- 15:46It's kind of like when the baby gets the new food, you're like,
- 15:49oh, they can. Eat.
- 15:50Oh my God, it was like I basically had to eat baby food.
- 15:54It was like mushed up by a pea soup I ate, you know, chicken
- 15:58broth I had, I don't know, it was.
- 16:01I don't know if you're ever looking for the recipes of how
- 16:03to recover, I mean, and what foods you can have.
- 16:06Reach out to Luke, send him a message.
- 16:07I did watch a lot of TV too. So, yeah, so we were watching.
- 16:10We were. The point was movies.
- 16:12I forgot that we were even talking about that.
- 16:14I know. Which is bonkers.
- 16:15I brought us back. Thank you.
- 16:17Thank you. Lot of movies, a lot of TV.
- 16:19Sometimes we need to circle back, but also did we?
- 16:22Finish that show we were watching.
- 16:24OK, well we're going to talk about that in a few moments.
- 16:27Also one of the things was Luke didn't want to watch anything
- 16:30that was funny. Because laughing.
- 16:33Hurt because laughing hurt and that's sorry super hard because
- 16:37I don't. I like comedies a lot.
- 16:40You also like other things. Who doesn't like a good laugh?
- 16:43Well, everybody. Right.
- 16:44It's still not great to laugh. Believe it or not, I that's it's
- 16:47also not great to talk for a long time.
- 16:49Well then shut up and listen. Check.
- 16:56Anyhow, so we did a lot of watching of a couple of series
- 17:00that we had been looking at for a while and movies but like
- 17:06nothing I for a long time, probably since we got together
- 17:14and living in a house together, there's always been those shows
- 17:17that we both are interested in. And I think like most or several
- 17:24couples, a lot of the time we are not home at the same time
- 17:29with the same time frame to watch TV.
- 17:34So what that ends up meaning is either you watch it alone or you
- 17:40have to wait to watch with the other person.
- 17:44Now going into his recovery, I knew for sure we would have way
- 17:49more than enough to watch together because for the last 85
- 17:57years, I don't know how I like it.
- 17:59For years and years and years, we have been putting stuff into
- 18:02like a my list or whatever it is on whatever app it is.
- 18:06You watch for shows and series and movies that it's like, oh,
- 18:11well, you got to wait to watch that with me and yada.
- 18:13So we had a lot of that sitting out there and I thought no
- 18:17problem, we'd be able to get caught up on some of it.
- 18:22And we did start watching a couple things.
- 18:24I don't even remember some of them, but we started watching.
- 18:28What was it? No.
- 18:30Copenhagen. Yeah.
- 18:32Heist theory. Test.
- 18:33Test test the main character in it I really like.
- 18:38He's from Kim's Convenience. Also, he was in a movie called.
- 18:43Shang Chi. Yeah, I saw that movie too.
- 18:47Anyhow. Yeah.
- 18:48So anyhow, he's a good actor. I saw he was on it immediately
- 18:52when I saw the the trailer. I was like, oh, I'm going to
- 18:54watch that. I love that guy.
- 18:55He's hilarious and looks like, yeah, me too.
- 18:58This was before his surgery, and I thought, if I'm going to have
- 19:02to wait for you to watch it, I'm never going to see it.
- 19:06I swear there are series in our things that have expired.
- 19:11They've been pulled off of Netflix or pulled off of Peacock
- 19:15or whatever, Hulu, all of the streaming things that we've just
- 19:20not gotten to because Luke says you can't watch that without me.
- 19:27Because it's something we both like.
- 19:29But if we've never seen it and we never get to see it, it
- 19:33doesn't become something we both like, right?
- 19:37Like. Well, there was plenty of other
- 19:39stuff for you to watch anyway. That's what you say all the time
- 19:44and there. Was plenty of stuff for me to
- 19:45watch because it's not like we were sitting next to each other
- 19:47on the couch for a week. Yeah, we were.
- 19:50No, we weren't. Yeah, we were.
- 19:51Oh, you were sleeping? You're being real.
- 19:54You know what What I'm talking. Maybe let me because I can
- 19:57barely raise my voice. So give a guy a little sympathy
- 20:01over here. Hell, I was sleeping a lot
- 20:05because I was on painkillers because they shaved out part of
- 20:08my throat and air weight, for God's sake.
- 20:12Anyway, I watched a couple of movies without you.
- 20:16You were off doing other stuff. Working.
- 20:19It could have been work. Yeah, it could have been work.
- 20:23No one was saying. That I watched that new Jurassic
- 20:25Park movie and I think it was #4 or five.
- 20:28I didn't. They were dinosaurs and there
- 20:30were people that didn't want to get eaten by them.
- 20:33I had no desire to ever watch that movie, so OK.
- 20:37I mean, you did sleep a lot on the couch, which.
- 20:43And in bed. Yeah, you slept a lot.
- 20:45I feel like you probably enjoyed the portion of the sleeping but
- 20:48not the pain portion. That's accurate.
- 20:51Yeah, I. Mean you have to sleep when you
- 20:52get surgery because it's part of the You're also the magic of the
- 20:57human body. It appeals itself.
- 20:59Luke is also known to fall asleep on a random couch or two.
- 21:04I mean. I do have, I do have a
- 21:06reputation to uphold. Yes, yes.
- 21:10That's actually part of the reason I got surgery is because
- 21:13I have sleep apnea, which means I get horrible sleep all the
- 21:17time, so I'm tired all the time. Yep, I get horrible sleep
- 21:20because you get horrible sleep too.
- 21:22Oh yeah, I'm sure it's not as bad as 9.
- 21:25I wow. And not everything.
- 21:27I know our show is called Arguing Ever After, but not
- 21:30everything is a competition. You can have it bad and I can
- 21:34also have it bad. I mean that's true, it's just
- 21:38hard to hear you complain about bad sleep when I have a medical
- 21:42condition. But you don't notice that you're
- 21:44waking up with yours where I notice.
- 21:47I do notice being tired all the time.
- 21:49Right, me too. Speaking of being tired all the
- 21:51time, Oh my God. Lately we have had a dog who has
- 21:55been sick and needing to wake up in the middle of the night and
- 21:59go outside. Multiple times a night.
- 22:01Yeah, it's been. I think you got like 5 hours
- 22:05yesterday because I woke up twice between like midnight and
- 22:08five. Oh well then yeah, I did get
- 22:11about 5 hours because I probably went to bed around midnight.
- 22:14That was a little resentful. Well, must be hard after your 70
- 22:19million hours of sleeping for two weeks during recovery.
- 22:22Oh, you think I'm recovered? That's.
- 22:24Cute. I don't see.
- 22:25He's still very contentious and still very not nice.
- 22:29It is called arguing ever after. I know, but you're being.
- 22:32It's not called arguing sometimes.
- 22:34Like, I don't know anyhow, but no.
- 22:39So we've been waiting. So sad and scratchier.
- 22:41So it's maybe that's part of it too.
- 22:43Could be, but I also see your face.
- 22:46The audience also sees your face.
- 22:48OK, my face is still those who are watching Bones.
- 22:52Those who are watching a lot of them aren't.
- 22:54Some of them are not at all. Well, anyhow, what were we even
- 22:58talking about? Movies.
- 22:59Movies. Oh, movies.
- 23:01Jurassic Park 4. I have a terrible memory of
- 23:04movies. A sick dog?
- 23:06Sure. Yeah, a sick dog.
- 23:09But you know what? No.
- 23:11Sleep till Brooklyn. Is that a movie?
- 23:14Well, it's a song by the Beastie Boys.
- 23:17Super famous. I don't really like the Beastie
- 23:19Boys in the 80s. Oh, I might have just gotten
- 23:21myself cancelled right there by saying that, huh?
- 23:24I mean the Beastie Boys. I just.
- 23:27They had their, they had their, their moment.
- 23:29I'm just saying they were strong in the 80s.
- 23:31Yeah, they were. It's not just, it's just not my
- 23:34kind of music. And that's fine, Fine with that.
- 23:38I will let anyone who likes them like them.
- 23:41I'm sure a lot of my music isn't for everybody else either, but
- 23:44So what? I feel like we watched a couple
- 23:46other movies and I I don't remember what they were over the
- 23:49last couple weeks. But I don't either.
- 23:51I feel like my disclaimer was I was on drugs.
- 23:54I brights my disclaimer was I don't remember movies because I
- 24:00fell asleep during them a lot. That's why I like TV shows is
- 24:05because I can fall asleep during ATV show and catch up easier or
- 24:13be like, I know that there's going to be another show and
- 24:16like an I don't know, 3 minutes or something.
- 24:20You know when that that wave of sleepiness hits, right?
- 24:24There's to me nothing like a couch nap, like falling asleep
- 24:29on the couch watching TV just feels like, sounds so sad, feels
- 24:34so luxurious, you know? It is maybe.
- 24:38It is. It feels, well, you're right.
- 24:40I mean in the fact that I have a couch and I'm watching TV, but I
- 24:43mean like just feels like such a extra.
- 24:48I don't know. Indulgence.
- 24:50Indulgence. Yes, that's what that that makes
- 24:52sense anyhow. So for me to watch you.
- 24:55Have an indulged life. Wow, with my couch naps and
- 25:00watching TVI don't feel too precious when you say that.
- 25:04But when you say that, it sounds like you're saying I'm a little
- 25:07precious. Well, that's why I said it.
- 25:09Wow, you who falls asleep on the couch all the time?
- 25:14You literally all the time. Every time you're watching TV?
- 25:18Almost. That's not true.
- 25:20You're right, it's not true, but.
- 25:21I think my sleeping on the couch is less consistent than you're
- 25:24sleeping on the couch. That's what that makes no sense
- 25:28to me. Like I think that if you counted
- 25:32the number of times hours that either of us was watching
- 25:38something while on the couch, I feel like you might actually
- 25:40fall asleep more than I do. Maybe.
- 25:43That's possible. Like hour for hour.
- 25:46I'm tired all the time. Maybe you have sleep apnea?
- 25:50I very much doubt it. I do have sleep deprivation, but
- 25:54not sleep apnea. But anyhow, so with the TV
- 26:00shows, the reason I like the TV shows is because when you're
- 26:02fall asleep during them, you know, you're like, cool, it's
- 26:05now, you know, I fell asleep at episode 2.
- 26:08We're now at Episode 4. It's not going to be that hard.
- 26:12Just go back and I'll find it. Oh, I thought you were going to
- 26:14say just skip it. I was like, wait, you can't just
- 26:16skip. It No, you can't you.
- 26:18Got to see it. But also, there's more yet to
- 26:21watch when I watch a movie. A lot of times when I fall
- 26:23asleep during a movie, what happens is I see the beginning.
- 26:27Did you go back and finish that one we were watching?
- 26:29You don't. I don't remember what one we
- 26:31were watching. It's a murder mystery or
- 26:34something. I don't know.
- 26:36Anyway, I see the beginning, I sleep through the end, I wait,
- 26:40or I sleep through the middle, and then I wake up at the end.
- 26:43Yeah, there's no point in me rewatching that movie.
- 26:47Oh, the one we didn't finish it, 'cause I haven't finished it.
- 26:50You fell asleep in it with the the girl spies.
- 26:54It just came up. Oh yeah, I didn't.
- 26:57I didn't. You were supposed to catch up so
- 26:58that we. Could Canela P Cruz.
- 27:00She was one of them. And that girl from us, This Is
- 27:04Us. Us.
- 27:05Just us. Just us.
- 27:07And also them. Yes, us and them.
- 27:11Oh. Yeah.
- 27:13She was in it. I can't say her name.
- 27:15I couldn't tell you what it was about besides their spies.
- 27:18Peter Lemgo No. But she's great, she is.
- 27:22Great. She is, I was.
- 27:25Bryce Dallas Howard Who? Scarlett Johansson, Who I'm just
- 27:32naming redheads at this point. I don't.
- 27:34I don't. There were only two that I
- 27:36recognized. Both of them were.
- 27:38The 2 that I just named were in one of the Jurassic Park
- 27:43numbers. OK so I confused them.
- 27:47I think it was. There's another one that looks
- 27:50just like them, Jessica Chastain, also a redhead.
- 27:55Jessica Chastain. Bryce Dallas Howard looked the
- 28:00same like it's one of those one celebrities that look the same
- 28:04if you put them up next to each other.
- 28:06Like you know how you confuse everyone?
- 28:08This is 2 redheads that if you put they look like sisters like
- 28:12if you. Put I'm going to have to look at
- 28:13it. I bet I can spot the difference
- 28:15as one. Of those two people was in that
- 28:17movie and I don't know which one it is.
- 28:20I I don't know either 'cause I don't I didn't make it past the
- 28:24opening scene, so I'm. Going to go Jessica Chastain.
- 28:29Nope. I think this is, it doesn't
- 28:33matter if you've seen the movie and you know what we're talking.
- 28:35About like a little bit. I'm sure it matters to her and
- 28:39to a lot of people, but for our purposes of this, it's going to
- 28:42take us 75 years to try to come up with.
- 28:44We need to finish the movie because I want to see who shoots
- 28:47who and. I mean, I feel.
- 28:49Who betrays who and? This is the problem.
- 28:52So often like these, they're just so predictable.
- 28:56Well, yeah, that's why you go to the movies is because it's
- 28:59predictable. Sometimes you go to be
- 29:01surprised. I I like, I love being
- 29:04surprised. No, no, right.
- 29:05But I mean the like predictable, yes, but not like like even if
- 29:13you're talking, let's say it's like a murder mystery where you
- 29:15can't easily, often you can't easily, if it's well done,
- 29:19predict who the murderer is. OK, but it's still the same
- 29:26repetition. Like it's still a murder mystery
- 29:29and they have the oh, but what about this clue?
- 29:32Oh, but this person said they saw this person at this place,
- 29:34which wasn't introduced until hour two of the movie.
- 29:38And you know, it's a big twist. And like, that is repetitious
- 29:42even in that genre of mystery, even though you don't know the
- 29:46person at the end, you know there's going to be 1 and
- 29:49they're going to get there through a very predictable
- 29:51sequence of events. So I understand what you're
- 29:53saying and that you like a surprise, but it's not like
- 29:55surprising that it happened. It's just you're like, oh, it's
- 29:59that person. See, that's my issue though with
- 30:02action movies is it's never or almost never a surprise.
- 30:07It's almost always. Yep, I know exactly what's Going
- 30:10to happen. Good guys win, bad guys lose.
- 30:12Sure, what I like about comedies.
- 30:16I mean, you should have watched all the Marvel movies.
- 30:18They weren't all predictable. I don't care about the Marvel
- 30:22movies. Unless you read the comics,
- 30:23maybe you would have known. Which I have not in what?
- 30:25I didn't know Iron Man was going to be the one that took the
- 30:28Infinity Gauntlet from. Wow, spoiler alerts for our
- 30:31audience. It's like 10 years ago.
- 30:34I mean, I'm just saying, what if they're like, you know, Luke
- 30:38just made me want to watch Marvel 'cause he said they
- 30:41aren't all the same or they don't, you know, they're not all
- 30:44predictable. And then you took it away,
- 30:47'cause you said, here you go, Captain America stole the
- 30:51Infinity Stones, you know, like. You aren't going to watch it,
- 30:55let's be real. No, I'm definitely not going to
- 30:57watch it. I I had my 3:00 that I wanted.
- 31:00To watch this weekend I'm so excited.
- 31:03Can't wait. Go and see The Lord of the Rings
- 31:05re release in theaters the extended editions with my dad.
- 31:12And how many hours? And my kid, they're like 3 1/2
- 31:16to 4 so. You're gonna be gone for like 5
- 31:18hours. Give or take.
- 31:21And this is 3 days in a row. You're excited now, aren't you?
- 31:23That's messed up. No, I did not.
- 31:26Say that you guys watching, you know the truth.
- 31:28You saw her face. It lit up.
- 31:31She had a smile. She was like, Oh.
- 31:33Thank God. 5 five hours, 3 days. I, I mean, oh, I remember when I
- 31:39was a kid and you'd go and watch a movie.
- 31:43That's movie theater, right? And if you figured out some way
- 31:48not saying how to catch a second movie.
- 31:51Oh, the old go on the bathroom trick.
- 31:54No, I buy a ticket legitimately. Of course.
- 31:57I'm sure people. Still do this.
- 32:00But anyhow, like how long of a day that felt after the second
- 32:04movie? Yeah, yeah.
- 32:08I mean I after of course buying your second ticket.
- 32:11That's I think it would be super premium if they somehow throw in
- 32:15an intermission in the middle so that you don't have to choose
- 32:18your loss. Oh, for the movies you're
- 32:20watching, are they going to? I don't think so 'cause they
- 32:23don't have them built in. Oh.
- 32:25But there are probably some logical breakpoints where they
- 32:28could put it. We think they saw a whole bunch
- 32:30of concessions during that time frame.
- 32:33Oh, and at the same time, my brother in Maryland and his son,
- 32:37my nephew, are going to be watching the movies as well.
- 32:40So it's like a family event across the country.
- 32:43What I you know what that tells me, It tells me that there's not
- 32:47a lot of movies out. That's messed up.
- 32:50Tell me that it's not true. Tell me it's not the most Oscar
- 32:53winning film series of all time. I'm I have no idea because I
- 32:58don't actually care about it. It's.
- 32:59Literally the Oscar winningest movie and movies of all time.
- 33:03So again, don't care. 13. I I'm not.
- 33:07Actually 13 Oscars. That's interesting.
- 33:10That's interesting information. Oh my goodness.
- 33:16Best film, best director, best original score.
- 33:20OK, I'll stop. I'm sorry.
- 33:21I'm sorry. I'm not.
- 33:23So you know what? I'm not sorry.
- 33:24Actually, I'm not. I'm not sorry at all.
- 33:26I'm not arguing with you about that.
- 33:30I hope we have a debate about it one day, because you will lose.
- 33:33What would you want the debate to be about?
- 33:34Anything. Anything.
- 33:36You just pick the opposing side to anything.
- 33:39Lord of the Rings, I'm in. Oh my gosh, we could have had
- 33:43this be our episode. No, I would have got too heated.
- 33:48Oh yeah, you would have you. Said something upsetting and I
- 33:51would have been like we're we're done.
- 33:53This is the podcast is over. This is full on blueberry
- 33:56doughnut. Turning the lights off and I am
- 33:59out. Of here I quit.
- 34:00Now Amber can have her solo show.
- 34:02She's been begging for Amber. It's called Amber ever after.
- 34:07Got a nice ring to. It it does, doesn't it?
- 34:09Yeah, it kind of does. Same initials.
- 34:13It does. I don't even have to think about
- 34:15that. Well, maybe one day, but anyhow.
- 34:19So, but you're going to go do that.
- 34:22You're going to go watch these movies five hours each day,
- 34:25three days in a row. My point was, I don't know how
- 34:30over a weekend movie theaters in many places back in the day,
- 34:35they would have never had that kind of spare time.
- 34:37Well, January is typically a low month.
- 34:40Which it shouldn't be because there's like, at least in
- 34:44Minnesota, not much you want to do in January.
- 34:48It's very cold. It's very, very cold.
- 34:52It's true today. Today it got up to 20 something
- 34:55degrees, started out at like 12. So that was unpleasant.
- 34:59Sure didn't feel like it got up to 20.
- 35:01And by the way, for people who aren't in Minnesota, they get up
- 35:04to 20 and that being a heat wave.
- 35:07Sorry, that's not fun. I mean it.
- 35:10That's not fun. 2020 something is pleasant.
- 35:13Yeah, yeah. So well enjoy that.
- 35:17I think when I'm home, I'm gonna I at some of these times, I'm
- 35:21gonna watch some TV shows that have been sitting there.
- 35:25That's fair. Because we just went through,
- 35:28what, three to three weeks? Got another, got another couple
- 35:33three weeks coming up. Right, I know.
- 35:36For surgery, boy over here. Whatever.
- 35:39So anyhow, I'm going to watch some TV that I'm going to get
- 35:42caught up on and I don't know, Luke, let me ask you a question.
- 35:50Oh, and now ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all
- 35:53been waiting for in this corner, claiming to weigh in at 135 lbs
- 36:01with a semi fresh haircut, looking real good, wearing her
- 36:05Minnesota estate's sweatshirt, which is Ice Houses if I
- 36:11remember correctly. For ice fishing.
- 36:13For ice fishing, which is side note thing that people do in
- 36:16Minnesota quite a bit. That house is for ice.
- 36:20They go fishing in little shacks on the frozen lakes.
- 36:23She is ready to battle yours truly with tiring vocal cords.
- 36:32Yeah, I know you're getting done in this corner.
- 36:35We have Luke. And here's the tally, folks.
- 36:39We we've stacked him up a little bit.
- 36:41Oh. No.
- 36:43Oh, he's looking at the number. I shouldn't have told him.
- 36:47So we have 8 ties. That's.
- 36:49For real. It's for real. 8 ties.
- 36:51Look at your beaming. Luke has 18.
- 36:56She's beaming. I have one. 11 That is a
- 37:01substantial pull ahead. I have a really big.
- 37:04That being said, although I hate it, I think I might actually
- 37:08hate it less than being tied forever.
- 37:11Yeah, yeah. Like we were tied basically
- 37:14forever. For like a month, we were tied.
- 37:17Yeah. So I, I it's.
- 37:18Stupid that you're winning. It's not stupid.
- 37:20Because. Our listeners are smart.
- 37:23You haven't been right that much.
- 37:26I disagree with the listeners that disagreed with me.
- 37:30OK, OK, OK, OK. Anyhow, so clearly I'm winning.
- 37:34Luke, I have a question for you, given that there's shows we both
- 37:44want to watch and I know we're not the only twosome out there
- 37:51who have both joint shows they want to watch.
- 37:54You know, that's like you've talked to people.
- 37:56Yes. Oh, I've never OK you've.
- 37:58Never talked? OK?
- 38:00No, the audience will know anyhow.
- 38:03Do you really have to wait for the other person to watch a show
- 38:10that you both want to watch? It depends.
- 38:14OK, so as I'm just going to answer with the truth, yes, but
- 38:19under specific conditions, 'cause I don't, there's not a
- 38:21blanket yes, you should wait all the time.
- 38:25So This is why I said we needed to establish a time frame
- 38:28because I don't think it's fair. You just want to win more, which
- 38:31is really quite selfish of you. So there are some shows that we
- 38:38always have watched together since we were young, like The
- 38:42Amazing Race for instance. We've been watching that show
- 38:44together for 20 years. There are some shows who have
- 38:50actors in them who we are both in love with, who I don't think
- 38:54he would suggest either of us wait, or I mean, either of us
- 38:58watch without the other. Like there's some stuff that you
- 39:02just agreed to, like Blood. That movie, for instance, that
- 39:05we recently watched called The Thursday Murder Club.
- 39:08We both saw that and we're like, for sure need to watch that
- 39:12movie. And I, I didn't even know, but I
- 39:15didn't talk to you. I knew without talking to you
- 39:17for sure. I know Amber's going to want to
- 39:18watch this movie. So I'm going to like save that.
- 39:21And you also said you did the same thing.
- 39:23You were like, I need to watch this movie and I'm sure Luke's
- 39:26going to want to watch it too. So like, there's some stuff that
- 39:31I think we just wait because we know the other person either is
- 39:35going to love the show or the actors in it or both.
- 39:38And so it just makes sense. Or stuff that we have been
- 39:40watching together for a long time, which makes sense.
- 39:44There's also a huge amount of stuff, and this is not one thing
- 39:52or the other. You have more time to watch TV
- 39:54than I do because of your work schedule.
- 39:56So like, you watch more TV than I do.
- 40:02Yeah, you do. Keep going.
- 40:04I'm listening. Are you going to argue that you
- 40:07watch less TV? I'm listening to you.
- 40:10While shaking your head and rolling your eyes.
- 40:12That's really unkind. So you watch more TV than me and
- 40:19watch more of a selection because of it.
- 40:24And there's been stuff that we've started watching together
- 40:27that I've said, OK, well that I don't need you to like hold
- 40:31those, you know, for me and you to watch together.
- 40:33You can watch it on your own like all the not CSI, all the
- 40:38law and orders, like I've gotten into them and then I get I check
- 40:41out I don't know, there's been a bunch of them where we started
- 40:43watching stuff together and I'm like, you know and I don't I
- 40:49don't even know how much TVI watch but it's not like a lot a
- 40:52lot. And now my throat is getting
- 40:55tired so I'm going to have to wrap this up.
- 40:57I think the answer for me, generally speaking is yes, but
- 41:02but only in the cases that we agree, like, and maybe it's a
- 41:06short amount of time. We've talked about that before
- 41:08too. Like, OK, well, how you've asked
- 41:10me that question, how long do I have to wait?
- 41:14And it's like, and I've given you answers like if, if I don't
- 41:18watch this with you in the next 30 days, then clearly I don't,
- 41:23I'd haven't prioritized it. And you can watch it on your own
- 41:26without me, even if, even if I'm going to be a little pouty boy,
- 41:31you know, And that happens and you do.
- 41:34And it's fine. I ultimately, I don't, I don't
- 41:38want to fight with you about TV shows because I don't think it
- 41:41matters that much. But some TV shows, I do think
- 41:45you got to wait. And there's not a big list of
- 41:48them. I guess you probably might
- 41:50remember more than than I do, but I got to stop.
- 41:55So balls in your court. All right.
- 41:56I think in general the the issue I think is and, and you made
- 42:03some caveats, so I'm going to clear away those caveats, is
- 42:06that it's like every show we look at together, like, oh, you
- 42:10can't watch that without me. Oh, you can't watch that without
- 42:12me. Oh, you can't watch that without
- 42:13me. Like frequently that we're both
- 42:18interested in. You will say that.
- 42:20And so I say to you, well, how long?
- 42:24Because I know there are shows that have just essentially
- 42:28expired out of the system because we haven't had time to
- 42:31watch them together. Because even though you think I
- 42:35have all this extra time in my life, because you think you work
- 42:38all these extra hours in your life, I don't.
- 42:43Actually have on the phone. Right.
- 42:46Not just at work. I'm not saying I work.
- 42:49No and. OK, my point is that you assume
- 42:56that I have all this extra time now when I relax and watch TVI
- 43:00want it to be purposeful. I don't want it to be something
- 43:03I'm not really that much into, right?
- 43:07Because who wants to do something for no reason?
- 43:10But I think everybody deserves the ability to kind of unwind
- 43:15and things like that. I know for a fact there are
- 43:17things you don't like to watch because they're too gruesome,
- 43:21scary, what have you, or cooking stuff which you're not really
- 43:26into. But a lot of those things where
- 43:29we do come together, which is a lot of what comes out our.
- 43:33Spy stuff, Murder mystery stuff, right?
- 43:37We both like those two genres. I well, Spies is OK.
- 43:41Murder mystery stuff fully. Really good comedies fully.
- 43:47We both really enjoy a super good thriller with good actors.
- 43:54Yeah. Now Luke and I also like to
- 43:56watch things differently. I like binge watching.
- 43:59I want to watch that show from beginning to end without other
- 44:05shows in the middle. You don't like doing that.
- 44:09You like to have variety. And you're like, cool, because
- 44:13that's how we were raised in the 1900s is you'd have to wait a
- 44:17week for a show. I've even heard you say like I
- 44:20miss having to wait a week for a show.
- 44:23Like there's actually there's showrunners who release their
- 44:26shows and that have been recorded already on purpose once
- 44:30a week and I totally dig it. Oh I hate it so much.
- 44:33Like just give them all to me at once and I'll watch them all and
- 44:37chances are I will then watch whatever the next thing is in
- 44:42the same manner. So this waiting a week thing or
- 44:46releasing things that way, I'm sure there's some sort of theory
- 44:50about like viewership going up overall for the application, but
- 44:55it's just annoying. Just let me watch the whole and
- 44:57I there are many times I've just said I'll wait till the whole
- 44:59thing comes out. Looks good, but I don't want to
- 45:03wait. I don't want to watch 3
- 45:05episodes, wait two weeks, watch three more 'cause these types of
- 45:08series, they're like cool leaving.
- 45:10I don't know. How you want to watch 345 hours
- 45:12of TV in a row? I I'm not saying I do no, no,
- 45:15no, no, no, no. I'm saying 3 or 4 hours of my TV
- 45:20watching, not necessarily in one sitting, but like if I'm
- 45:25watching ATV show today of Thursday with surprise,
- 45:29surprise, that's when we're recording.
- 45:32Then on Friday when I'm watching, I want to watch that
- 45:35same show. I don't want to jump to a whole
- 45:38nother show. I want to just watch the whole
- 45:40thing. So anyhow, I feel it is, is also
- 45:44the most efficient way to watch something.
- 45:47So that's, that's one of the reasons why waiting for Luke to
- 45:52watch something in general, not just like waiting for a whole
- 45:55series, that's it's also waiting to watch the next episode.
- 46:00And given the way things are, sometimes it's like, cool, well,
- 46:04I have 30 minutes to watch TV, right?
- 46:07Because for whatever reason, bedtime, kid, bedtime, you know,
- 46:11like there's literally 30 minutes.
- 46:13That's all we got. Well, the show we like to watch
- 46:14is an hour. I can't stay up an extra half
- 46:17hour to catch up, neither can you.
- 46:18So we end up going. Because we're getting old now we
- 46:21need to go to bed. We'll go two or three weeks.
- 46:23We have, I think, 3 Series right now and I think I could only
- 46:28tell you one with certainty that we're in the middle of watching
- 46:31because time has elapsed so far. I was going to ask you how many
- 46:36shows that I have asked you to wait for me are there currently
- 46:42in the queue. Of.
- 46:43Life. You think it's a large number?
- 46:46I do, I do. Because we forget about them all
- 46:49the time, because we'll be watching something I don't
- 46:51remember. So, he said.
- 46:52We like mysteries. I don't know if we even finished
- 46:59Only Murders. Don't think we finished it.
- 47:02We didn't finish poker. Poker Face, that is the name no.
- 47:08You could finish that one without me.
- 47:11Thank you for your permission anyhow.
- 47:13Well. What's because it's we spend
- 47:15time together. Yes, but there's plenty of
- 47:17things we can spend time together doing anyhow.
- 47:21So there's multiple series, multiple things, and it just
- 47:24gets lost. And I'm just saying like, I know
- 47:29you watch a lot of things on your own.
- 47:33I also watch things and I feel like those things are filler
- 47:36things, although you sometimes really like watching those
- 47:39things like your soccer games and your biking shows and your.
- 47:43Well, I don't really like the biking shows.
- 47:45Car racing shows and all of those things, like those are
- 47:49things you're like, I'm excited to watch.
- 47:51Amber, please leave the room so I can watch soccer.
- 47:56Soccer is the main one. Yeah, I mean like, but so like
- 47:59these are things you're like just, I would like the couch in
- 48:02space so I can watch this thing. Most of those things I'm
- 48:05watching I. Have another couch.
- 48:07We can, I can, we can split up. OK, but I'm not if it's if I
- 48:12want to watch something and you're taking that time, right?
- 48:15So anyhow, I'm saying you shouldn't have to wait, and if
- 48:19you do, it shouldn't be too long because in today's world of
- 48:24fast-paced media, it's going to be gone.
- 48:28And why not just enjoy something while it exists and is there?
- 48:32I'm going to add something here at the end because it should
- 48:35have been added at the beginning and I advocated for it
- 48:38prerecording and you said no as a way to win an episode.
- 48:42I don't. Oh my gosh.
- 48:45Let's say, well, you did this to me in the in when the world's
- 48:48going to end. You asked me about 75, but use
- 48:50it, he said. Would you want to know if it was
- 48:53going to be a month? What about 10 days?
- 48:55What about 7:00? What about 3?
- 48:57What are they? OK, you know what?
- 48:58I can ask you a question too. Oh, oh.
- 49:00So anyhow, all right, ask me the question.
- 49:02I love a double question. What's the time frame where it
- 49:08like? It would be like OK or
- 49:13acceptable or something like that.
- 49:15To wait for the other. Person you just think the answer
- 49:17is you should be selfish all the time based on what you just
- 49:20said. I should be selfish all the
- 49:23time. Yes.
- 49:25So yeah, so. Well, there's.
- 49:29I'm the one who's I? Just want to be clear about the
- 49:32level of content that's out there in the world.
- 49:34There's so many streaming apps that you don't even know what
- 49:37streaming app. You're veering away from what
- 49:42you just. Said, which is.
- 49:44Because you. Think it's a yes or no?
- 49:46Question. No.
- 49:46Heinous. No, I don't.
- 49:49And it was it's no, it's not. So you think the answer is
- 49:55regardless of whether I think it's something I would enjoy
- 49:58with you and want to watch with you, that you should just watch
- 50:02whatever regardless, no matter what and I'm.
- 50:04Saying there should be. And.
- 50:08You haven't even let me actually come up with my answer yet.
- 50:11Are you going to agree with me? What?
- 50:14Well, I said you should wait with conditions and you said you
- 50:19should not. I don't think I should have to
- 50:22wait the time frame. You think I should have to wait,
- 50:24which is indefinitely or until you say I've released the show
- 50:29to you to watch now? Like those are those.
- 50:33That is not reasonable, I think. It's reasonable to say like, I'd
- 50:36like to watch this with you, but if it's not if, if I don't
- 50:41commit to sitting down and watching the show with you
- 50:44within a month, that's unreasonable and you should be
- 50:48able to watch it. But whatever.
- 50:51Well, that's not the question you wanted to ask.
- 50:54Right. I'm saying, do you have to wait?
- 50:56You want to put a time frame on it.
- 50:58I also wouldn't mind a time frame on it.
- 51:00However, I don't know that that is the question.
- 51:04The question was do you have to wait?
- 51:06You say yes. I guess the question to me, if I
- 51:09have to have an opposing answer is no, you don't have to wait
- 51:14because who knows what's going to exist.
- 51:16I would also. I would also, but here's the
- 51:19thing. I if I were to say a time frame,
- 51:22sure, a couple few weeks. If you haven't watched it by
- 51:24then, you haven't. Prioritized it, but then I would
- 51:27have had the question be if you and your spouse have agreed to a
- 51:30time frame of 30 days or two weeks or whatever the number is,
- 51:34should you have to wait? And of course the answer is yes.
- 51:37I will say I have never because I actually am not as selfish as
- 51:41you say to the audience that I am.
- 51:44I have not watched anything without you that you've said.
- 51:51I want you to wait. Right here, I'm throwing down
- 51:55the gauntlet, and I want the audience to know that.
- 51:59Facts. That I didn't know this as much
- 52:01of a problem for you as you've made it up to be on this show.
- 52:05If I would just say 30 days, that's a pretty short lifespan.
- 52:09I feel like anyone that's an adult at this point in life can
- 52:13wait till the next episode comes out. 30 days isn't unreasonable.
- 52:18We can have our argument and our question be the yes or no.
- 52:21But I would tell you right now in front of everybody, if we
- 52:24agree, other than the ones we've been watching together for 20
- 52:27years and stuff like amazing or movies, because that's a little
- 52:32different because they're just one, they're just one shot.
- 52:34But if it's a series and I haven't sat down for a month to
- 52:37watch even episode one with you, go ahead because I'm because I'm
- 52:41probably not going to. I know, I know.
- 52:45Well, there's. Been compromising.
- 52:47Wow. Well, but that doesn't help the
- 52:49first time it's. Happened episode 28.
- 52:52OK, then that's good information now, but the original question.
- 52:56Still think you should have to wait you?
- 53:00Even if it's passer. But in the interests of of being
- 53:04a nicer person. So.
- 53:07Willing to compromise? Your vote, folks, is should you
- 53:11have to wait for your significant other.
- 53:15If they have asked you. Yes, my answer is no.
- 53:21And mine is yes. His is yes, that's it.
- 53:24Now we might. Wait for you for years that's.
- 53:29He would forget about the show. That's true.
- 53:32I would too after a. 100% I would.
- 53:35Forget. Yeah.
- 53:36So This Is Us getting back into it.
- 53:39I don't know. I don't know how this one turned
- 53:40out. Hopefully I sounded OK if I
- 53:43didn't deal with it. I can't get louder.
- 53:46Yeah, yeah. But at least you have the
- 53:48microphone on instead of microphone.
- 53:50One episode, what episode recently was where you weren't
- 53:54wearing a microphone or you were wearing it, but it wasn't on
- 53:58because I had a microphone on. I don't remember what one it
- 54:02was, but you know what? We have technical difficulties,
- 54:04and apparently we have human challenges as well.
- 54:09So all right, what do we want them to do?
- 54:11Do you want me to say it? Save your voice.
- 54:13OK, All right, folks. So here's what you do.
- 54:16You go on to Spotify and you vote.
- 54:19Whether or not you think you should have to wait to watch
- 54:22something, if your significant other says they want to watch it
- 54:27with you, that's what one thing we want you to do.
- 54:30The second thing we want you to do after you vote, if you
- 54:32haven't already yet, is follow us.
- 54:35And tell your friends. The third thing I was going to
- 54:38say to do is to share this. Yeah, with people you know.
- 54:44Or people you don't know. Or people you don't know.
- 54:46Yeah, we're trying to grow. Walking down the street?
- 54:48Just tell people to watch our podcast.
- 54:50We're trying to grow and then I'm going to say that's usually
- 54:54what we do. Oh, and rate it like give us
- 54:56five stars. I mean, we actually have.
- 54:59We have ratings. We have ratings and we have
- 55:01great ratings. We actually have five stars for
- 55:03everyone who has voted. So continue to vote.
- 55:07Keep us up there. We love that comment.
- 55:10Let us know, you know what I want, if you happen to have the
- 55:13time, give us a recommendation of ATV series or show that we
- 55:18should watch together. That would be great.
- 55:21But that would mean you'd have to wait.
- 55:23I'm fine waiting. For the podcast.
- 55:26No, yes, I'm fine waiting for the podcast.
- 55:28So let us know. Let us know.
- 55:30It would be great because sometimes I think that's
- 55:33necessary anyhow. So do that.
- 55:36But then also the newest thing, and we might not say this every
- 55:40time, but right now I think it's super important.
- 55:44WFNU Radio has an app that you can save and you can stream or
- 55:52listen to previous shows. Local voices in Minnesota, Super
