- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Hello and welcome back to the Rave Social podcast.
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: I'm your host, Jaden, and today we have Jordan from the Space Social.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: Jordan is a true queen.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: I love her.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: When I first started out as a social media manager, I was like, can you be my friend?
- 0:27SPEAKER_02: And she was like, Yes.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: And so now here we are.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Jaden, you give me so much good advice too, though.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: So it goes both ways.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: I feel like we ended up like supporting each other really well, which I love so much.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Like that's my favorite thing about this industry.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: Everyone I've met is so nice.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: Um, so why don't you tell us a little bit about you and what you do?
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Yes, so I have been I am a social media manager similar to Jaden.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Um, I own the space social.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: We're located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: And I have been doing this for three years.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: I help clients across multiple industries, but I I specifically like personal brands.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: That's who I like to work with the most.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: And yes, I love to help people, I love to help people find leads.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's the funnest part of social media, is like obviously who you get to meet.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I love to find strategic ways to help my clients meet people who are going to pay them for their services.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: And I'm I'm excited to talk about that today.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we're gonna talk about lead gen, meme chat, quizzes, what else?
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Building a community.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: We have like literally so many things.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: I'm looking at my list.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: I know, I'm so excited.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: So yeah, let's start with lead gen because I feel like that's actually huge and it's kind of hard.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: So, what do you do to help your clients with lead gen?
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Yes, so currently, right now, I mean, I feel like lead gen is it's changing all the time, especially with AI.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: And I just feel like for myself and my clients, I want to be on the front end of that and make sure they are using AI.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: So currently, my favorite way to use this is mini chat and interact.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: So mini chat is, you know, we briefly mentioned it, it's an automation system where you can essentially ask someone to comment a word.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: So I know a lot of people are see other accounts post like, comment this word and I'll send you a link.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: That's mini chat.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: And I really enjoy that.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: And then I love especially to send them a link to an interact quiz.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: I feel like that is really fantastic for engagement.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: So you are using many chat to get people to take the quiz.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: So the quiz is the lead gen, right?
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Yes, so it is, and I uh what I like to I'm trying to figure out how like where to even start.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: There's like so many things to talk about with this.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: So mini chat, you can send people any link that you want to send them.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: So the reason I like mini chat and the reason I like to suggest it to clients is because I believe consumers have changed a lot in the last four years.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: I think that they I don't think a link in bio works like it used to anymore as a call to action.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Um, and you know, we're all guilty of that.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: So I I mean, even this week I think I was like, just check out the link in bio.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: No, I still put it in my feed post, but I'm like, I know you're not gonna do it.
- 3:34unknown: Yeah.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: But I just think like consumers, they want they want it to be easy, and so sending them a direct link, like it doesn't even have to be like to a quiz.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: It could be if you have an affiliate link for I don't know, the first time I found about out about Mini Chat Jaden was um somebody asked me to comment a word for a toddler camera, and I know they had like an affiliate link set up for that, yeah, and they probably made so much money, but like that's what I'm saying, it can literally be anything, which wow you have totally gotten me thinking about how many chat can work for product-based businesses, and I'm so curious.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: I have a client that I'm like working up the courage to like present that to them because I'm I feel like it would be so cool.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: Because yeah, imagine if like instead of having like a like to know it, or I mean I guess you would still have those things, but instead of like having to go do the work yourself or having your audience do the work for them, you literally they could just say like shirt, and then like there's the link to the shirt, boom.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Yes, so easy.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: I actually um I have a I'm about to sign an e-bike company, which I'm so excited about.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's and I'm I'm excited to try and use mini chat to convert cells over there, so it's a little higher ticket item though, so I'm excited to see if that works.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, on a higher ticket item because also like where I've seen many chat is mostly towards free or low-ticket items, like getting in on a freebie or something like that, or like a really low-ticket$27 guide or something like that.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I I agree.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to see how and if it works.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: I feel like potentially there may need to be a little bit more courting going on in the social media, so we'll see how it how it works, though.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: I'm excited.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I'm so curious about that.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: So I do like many chat and I have clients who use it.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: I've never used it myself, but I also see some accounts that literally only use many chat, and I can't name them because I'll get in trouble, but I do know some, and to me, it can hurt to me, it feels like it could hurt your community.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, I think there's like a balance.
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: What do you think about that?
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I definitely agree.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: So, for for my clients, I'm sure you do something similar.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: I like to have an outreach and nurture strategy for their social media.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: So I consider mini chat to be an outreach, and it's only part of the strategy.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Um it's a really cool strategy, but it's definitely not the whole thing.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: And I agree with you.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: I think that it can be overused, and it I think it can hurt the integrity of your business because if you're just like constantly trying to sell the people and you're not, I don't know, you're not like caring about them and like nurturing them, they're not going to feel inclined to buy.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: So I definitely see it as only like part of the equation.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: And like an overtime thing, like at the beginning, the first time you post that, it might be like crazy, like everyone's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, like commenting it, but then over time it's like, but then you need to make sure that you're going back to that cycle of like nurturing them.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: And this actually leads me to another thing.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: Just because you're giving away something for free, like a freebie or something, doesn't mean you're nurturing your audience.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: And I think sometimes people like they're like, but it's free, and it's like, yeah, but you're still asking them to like go to the link, download it, use the guide, whatever.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: Your actual content should have value to it.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: I guess we kind of talked about what you can use it for.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: Let's talk maybe about what the quizzes are for.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: And how do you even set wait?
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: Have you set up a mini chat?
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: So, okay, mini chat.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: If you go to just like literally mini chat.com, you will have to connect your Instagram and Facebook with it so that it's just more automated.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: Um, it really, I feel like the app, I you know, I do my automations on my desktop, but I feel like it really lays it out for you.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: So it'll be like, do you want to create an automation that's like if someone repl you know comments a word, you send them a DM.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Um, and it really just has it set up for you in there.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: So it's not like you have to really like code it, it really just does that for you, and you're literally entering in the copy and the link.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: And it's so simple.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: And is there any like strategy strategy behind that that you've seen, like what you should say, or like the order of operations, or like anything like that?
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, so I mean, I feel like you'll agree with this.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: I don't feel like there's one way to have success on social media, so I can tell you like a few different things that I have found successful.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: I noticed that um, you know, I notice some people will put it at the very beginning of their reel is like they'll have like a hook and then immediately like comment this.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: I don't know if I love that, but I've I know I've I've for sure done it for a client.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: I don't know if I like it.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I hear you.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: It's like it's good, it's good for outreach, but it's also like I feel like it's kind of too soon to ask sometimes.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's how I feel.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: I've noticed that storytelling does really well for mini chat, and then and then you probably don't feel as guilty like you know that your audience is like this isn't you're not nurturing me.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: So for my clients and for myself, anytime I've used a story to explain like why this like why you need to comment this word to get this, you know, digital product or whatever, um, that always works very well, and I feel like it also creates a lot of conversations, which it's it's fantastic because I don't necessarily want all of the comments to be mini chat.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: I also want people to like talk about it, you know?
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: I find that super interesting.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Like on many chat posts, all of the comments are just like the many chat, usually.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: Usually, but there is opportunity to like still have a conversation with people if you do it right.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: Like, I think what exactly what you're saying.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I agree.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: Wow, okay, and then with the quizzes, which the quizzes are kind of different for lead, like many chat can also be for lead gen, but like you put many chat into a quiz, which is the lead gen.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: What are you using quizzes for?
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: So I use um just like for your audience to know, I like to use Interact.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: I pay, I think,$300 a year for six active quizzes.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: So all mini chat is, is it's like connecting it.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I'm just putting a link in it to the quiz.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: So it's kind of like a two for.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: But you could use the quiz separately and you can use mini chat separately.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: I just think they have a beautiful marriage, and I love to use that.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I agree.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Um because I first off, like I really believe that people, first off, consumers they don't want to do a lot of work, and also they love to learn about themselves.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: And I feel like if you're going to make a quiz, I would make it like as centered around whoever like your ideal client as possible because people love that so much.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I the most recent quiz I made for one of my clients was um, so she's in stock photography, and we did like which stock photography um oh what is it called, agency should you join based on your zodiac sign?
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, cool.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was really fun.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: And Interact also has a lot of templates as well.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: So if you're like, I don't know how to make a quiz, they have a lot of great like templates you could start with.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: I am sitting here wondering, how did you do that?
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: Like, I feel like I don't know enough about zodiac signs.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: Did you use like chat GPT?
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: Like how did you do it?
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: I used Chat GPT and I also so I guess I collected, I knew which four agencies I wanted to put out, and then based on kind of like those agencies' brands and personalities, I assigned them to like fire, earth, water, air signs.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Genius.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so um basically just looked up like general information about those signs and then tried to tailor it for those um agencies, and I feel like that was so fun.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: It that has done so well for that client.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: And the whole goal of it is like to capture emails to then put them in a nurture sequence, or do you do a tripwire?
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Um, so we do we nurture them in this specific situation, we're nurturing them for to try and get them into a larger program.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Um, but just starting there is like it's just the the first step of the funnel.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I love that.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: That's so cool.
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: I feel like I want to do a quiz where I say, no one stole my idea, maybe I'll have it done by this time when this comes out.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: But I want to do a quiz that's like which social media media platform should you use based on your Zodiac sign?
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: I love that because the Leos need to be on TikTok.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: I just know that.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: And you can just you can tell people that and uh yeah, I so I'm creating a quiz right now.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: It's so overdue, but like you know how it is.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: When you sit down to do your work, you're like, oh, I could do something for a client right now.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Um but I'm do I'm creating a quiz right now that's like which social media strategy should you use?
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: And I'm really excited to do that.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Um and the way I've kind of been like leading Yes, and the way I've been leading my audience to this, even though I haven't finished it, is once a week I like to post like pick one strategy on my Instagram stories.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: I love when you do that.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: It's so easy.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Um, but once I I feel like it'll be very like flow to be like, okay, let's take this quiz now that you know I do this.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: The quiz sounds so fun.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: Like, that's such a fun way to get your audience engaged, and honestly, like it's kind of a community-building step as well.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: Even though they're not like, I don't know, engaging with like you directly, but it's like so cool because you can share things that you care about, like zodiac kinds or this or that, like whatever it is, and incorporate that into your brand and like share that with your community.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yes, it's so amazing, and it's like it can pretty much be evergreen as well, which is so nice for business owners.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and like I feel like it gets old asking people to download a freebie.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I do too.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: I kind of am over freebies a little bit.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: I know me too, actually.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: I was like trying to come up with one, and I was just like, maybe I just do a freaking like podcast episode for instead, like an extra podcast because it's like I just don't like the freebies.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: It's like you just know you're signing up to get like nurtured and sold too, and I'm like, I don't want to, yeah, right.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And I feel like, but honestly, Jaden, I feel like other people feel like that as well, and that's why the quizzes do are a lot better as a lead gen than a freebie.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: Because it's so much more fun, and we need to have more fun, especially on something.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: We need to have more fun, it doesn't have to be so freaking serious all the time.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: You're so right, it's true.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Okay, question for you what mistakes are people making in their lead gen?
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: I I think the biggest mistake people make is they're not a hundred percent set up on the back end with their systems and they'll launch it and it can be really exciting, but it's like if you're not collecting emails and you're not putting them into an email funnel, there's really no point.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: A lot of that I think yeah, I feel like I feel like that's a pretty large mistake that one could make.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel like just not capturing emails is yeah, you gotta.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: I know, Jaden.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: I feel like every if I could like say one thing to and everyone took it home and did it, like get your email list started.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: It doesn't have to be that hard either.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: Like, you don't have to have a budget, it doesn't have to be beautiful.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: You can literally make like a landing page on any of the servicers, like MailChimp, Convert Kit, Flowdesk, whatever, right?
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's pretty easy.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it it it really is.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: I feel like the apps also like they're trying to make it easier for consumers to use, so I feel like it is fairly simple.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: So everybody, get your email list going.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: Are there any other mistakes?
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: I feel like a mistake that people make is that they don't do it.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: They don't do it.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: It's like I so I think this is a great conversation.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know, people are in their busy season, whatever that is for their business, and they don't seek to like, okay, while there's like a ton of people here, I should push out something for when it's like slower.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I agree.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: Like you have to be thinking ahead.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: It's honestly like a business mistake that I made actually early on because I grew fast at the beginning, and so I had no time, or I told myself I had no time to do these things.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: And then when my slow season came, which slow seasons will come, I was like, oh no, like I don't have a strong collegian, and so then I was like trying to work backwards to create it and get it back up to speed, but it's like then you've already created like a lull there, yeah so you kind of need to prepare for that to happen before it does.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: I completely agree.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: How do you feel about selling in like your stories?
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: Even if you're not selling, like like selling the many chat or selling the quiz or things like that.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: Like, do you have your clients do that in their stories or mostly in their feed?
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: So you can do it in your um stories, like you can ask someone to reply to your story.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: I try and do that sparingly.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: I just feel like stories are more of a behind the scenes and they're a way for people to get to know you and your business and be more educated on what you do.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: And I feel like it is important to sell in the stories, but I just think proceed with caution.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're kind of like you talk a lot about soft selling, right?
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: Yes, I do.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm bringing this up.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: We're talking about yeah, I like the soft selling queen.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: I love a good soft sell.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: So, what did that mean, really?
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, so soft selling.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Um let me talk about hard selling and soft selling, because obviously, like you need to know both.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: So hard selling is when you're like link and bio, here it is, like you're very up front with what you are selling.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Um, a soft sell is when you're it's more like trying to create conversation.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: So the way I like to do this is I'll post on my story, like, okay, today I'm working on Instagram and I'm working on a lead gen, I'm working on email.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And I feel like by putting out there that you do these things, it allows people to ask you questions, and it is the best strategy for social media.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love that, and that was like such a good explanation of the difference.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: So if you're like, okay, how do I soft sell?
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: Just post what you're doing for the day.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: I guess I've been soft selling and I didn't even know it.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Because you do, you soft-sell so well.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's so nice.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Because I didn't realize that I was doing that at all.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: But I freaking I love that.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, I know that's my thing with my clients too.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: I didn't realize I was telling them to soft sell, but I'm always like, just like the best way to sell what you do is just like show what you do.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Like to show it.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: Like when you're shooting a wedding, like what are you doing, or when you're editing, what are you doing, or when you're, I don't know, coaching.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: What does that look like?
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: When you get on a discovery call, like what happens?
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: That's what's gonna sell people on your service.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think people are ner I don't know, they're sometimes they're nervous to reach out and just like directly ask, but I think when you show them what the process is, it's less intimidating for them.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Um and they feel safer to ask.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: So I love them like you're basically with an open door.
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: You're like saying, Yep, you can ask me about this without explicitly saying that.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: You're inviting them to be yeah, yeah.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love that.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that is it's the best strategy for Instagram stories, in my opinion.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I think so too.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: I completely agree.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: Um okay, so we now should talk about building a community, I feel like.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: Because we touched on many chat, we touched on Legion, the quizzes, all of that.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: But what is it like to build a community on social media and like why is that important?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: Okay, I love building a community and I love doing it for my clients.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: I've been thinking about like what building a community is, and I feel like it's just inviting people to, like you said, come into your space, like feel included.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: I think that a lot of that is just sharing who you are and being open.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: I don't think you need to share everything if you're not wanting to do that, but I think that yeah, just like being open.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: Like, I think of my favorite communities to be a part of, and I just feel really seen in their content, and I love to try and recreate that on social media.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I feel like one other good thing you do as far as building a community is like you have so many subtle things that you share about that I've connected you with.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Like Diet Pink.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: Yes, um, yes, like honestly, what else?
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: Like, um you talk about a couple different disco balls.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: Like Hawker Walk is my biggest one.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Hawker walks, yes, all that I associate you with on like a community level, and it's also a personal brand thing, but it's like I feel so seen.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: I love Diet Coke, I love disco balls, I love pink, like I feel so included in.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Your community because of those like subtle things that you wrap up into all of your content.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: I am so excited to extend this offer to all of my podcast listeners.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: If you didn't know, we just launched Intentional Instagram.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: This course is for anyone who is looking to bridge that gap between actually reaching their ideal audience and converting them into paying customers.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: So this is for you if you're posting every day but you are not seeing the payoff.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: You can't seem to reach the audience that actually wants and needs your offer, and you're overwhelmed and frustrated with how much time Instagram is taking away from your business.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: Get ready to say goodbye to all of that and start showing up for your community on Instagram every day in under 30 minutes and with a lot more fun.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: And spend way more time at the beach, going for your hot girl walks or working on your next big thing, and also making more money with the content that you're already posting every single day.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: If you're listening to this and you want to get intentional Instagram, head to the link in the show notes and use code podcast for 20% off.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: I will see you there.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: I okay, so the strategy, like the way I like to view this is it's it's like an inside joke with my community.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: So they feel they know I've been doing hawk or walk forever, so they feel really seen and they know that I do that.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: Um but it's just consistently sharing the same things over and over.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: Yes, I think that's so important, and it really does build a community because like it's something I do, like, and I really didn't quite do it on purpose, but like people know that I love Kelsey Ballerini, or like people like associate me with like certain things that are just in life, and that is like a really strong brand for myself, but also makes them feel like they're part of my community, whether or not they like Kelsey Ballerini.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: When they think of her, they think of me, and they're like, Oh, yeah, we're buds, we're friends, like we know each other on that level, which I think is so important to like pull back that curtain, which actually makes me think of something else.
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: I feel like there was a period on social media where we were like, you have to share everything, like yeah, peel back the curtain, we want to see who you are, and some people maybe overshared for their own comfort level, and you don't have to do that.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you don't.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: I feel like social media boundaries are so important, um, and only you can know what it is.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: I feel like that um discourse you're talking about.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: I I felt like people were told they were inauthentic if they didn't share every part of their life, which is such bullshit.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, if you're if you've listened to this podcast, you probably listened to the episode with Cassandra, and she said something really similar that she's like, Well, no, like I'm not like you should expect that when you go on social media, people are showing you the good things.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Because when you're sad, when you're going through a breakup, when someone passes away, your first instinct isn't like, oh, we need to update my Instagram about this.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: But when something good happens to you, you might have that instinct to want to share that with people because it's positive and it's happy and it's exciting, and that's like so natural.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: So, why are we holding people to the standard that like we should know about all the nitty-gritty?
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that no one should be held to that standard.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: I think that so I just to like share an example, I do not share my son on social media at all.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: I'm very private about him, and I just feel like I want to give him the gift of his digital footprint and creating that himself.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Um and like that's something I decided was good for me.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: Um, I know other people share that, it's not a bad thing, but I just think it's really good to sit down and be like, what am I comfortable sharing?
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: And don't share if you're not comfortable.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I posted about that earlier this week that I was just like, I'm never gonna talk about these things.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: I saw that.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: I was so proud of that.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: That was such a good post.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: But I'm gonna go to the show.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: Yes, I love that.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: I read the whole post.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like I just think you need to set those boundaries for yourself.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: Like, what are you going to share and what are you not going to share so that you don't get sucked into feeling like you have to do something like that you don't feel comfortable doing, or like it doesn't even make sense for you to talk about that.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: So don't need to.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: I I completely agree.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: And I think I just think if maybe you're struggling, I don't know, Jaden.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: I also feel like people sometimes they're on like the spectrum where they're like, I want to share everything, or I don't know what to share at all.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: I feel like there's not a lot of competition.
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: One or the other.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 26:55SPEAKER_02: It is, yeah.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: And if you don't know what to share, the simplest thing I could think of is like what's the most boring thing that you do every day?
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: Like, what do you do every day?
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: Do you like sit down and drink your coffee?
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: Like, share that.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100%.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's just like share something so simple.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: Like share your work, share what you're doing that day.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: Like, yes, share your crazy.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, your face.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: I um I love to share my I had a c one of my industry friends, she asked me if this new person who was my client, if she was my new client, because she's like, I you're sharing her face so much more, I can tell you're working with her.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I just feel like like share your face.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: It creates more of a relationship.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: Like talking about community earlier.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: I think I think just posting your face is or even just talking, it makes people feel like they know you.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: So then how do you feel about it?
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: I was like, literally, we've had the same thought.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: That was so funny, but yeah.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: Uh the faceless content.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: I cannot, it's giving MLM, it's giving shady business practices, it's giving literally not real.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: I couldn't agree more.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: Why are we doing that?
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: I think people just always want the easiest way, and I totally get that, but it's like the easiest way might not be the best way.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: What are you just never gonna show your face?
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: Ever?
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: How are you gonna sell a course?
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: How are you gonna sell anything?
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: That's what blows my mind is I'm like, people are not gonna just buy a four or five-figure course if they cannot see you.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: No, I would never.
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: I don't even spend that much on a course when I can see you.
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: So I'm not gonna spend that much on a course if I can't even see you.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm so confused.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: Are they gonna like I guess just voice over a presentation?
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: I just don't get it at all.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: I don't think it's gonna work.
- 29:01SPEAKER_02: I I don't think either.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: I think it's gonna fade.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: I think it's a trend.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: And they're probably loving that we're talking about it.
- 29:07SPEAKER_02: They're like, yeah, give us like enjoy that.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: We'll enjoy our money from actual clients that know us and pay us.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: Yes, exactly.
- 29:17SPEAKER_02: Uh, but showing your face can be scary at first.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: I remember when I first started, I was like, how many graphics can I post?
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: Like, how do I like not show myself?
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: Because over time, I don't know if you've ever had this intrusive thought, but I have where I'm like, oh, people are perceiving me.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: Like people have straight up whole opinions about who I am, what I like, everything based on what I post on social media, and that is scary.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm literally creating a caption about this right now about how when I first started doing Hawker Walk and sharing it, I was scared to be perceived.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: So, yes, I definitely understand that.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: I think it just takes practice though.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: Like, it is hard, but I I think the more you try, it it becomes more like a skill.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and for the most part, I've had people be like, only perceive me in a positive way for the most part.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: Like people will DM me or be like, you're so like nice, whatever.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, great, that's like it, that is honestly who I am.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: So I'm glad you're getting that correctly.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: But there's also, I'm sure, another side of that coin where people could be like, she's fake, or she's annoying, or her reels are dumb, or like whatever, have these like opinions about me.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and to that I say, like, that's totally fine because I actually don't want everyone to like me, and I don't mean that in a rude or like f off kind of way.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: I just mean like I'm not for everyone, and I don't want to totally find anyone.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: That's actually a healthy way to probably look at it.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Like, not everyone's gonna like us, and that's fine.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: And I don't like it.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: That's not who I'm creating content for.
- 30:57SPEAKER_02: I don't like everyone, and also not in an epic type of way, but in a way of like and it's not that I fundamentally don't like you, it's just like I'm not gonna probably want to work with you for some reason that I don't think our energy is the same, and that's okay, like there's nothing wrong with you, you should still be you, regardless of my opinion of what you're doing.
- 31:20SPEAKER_02: Agreed, yeah.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: And also, what's funny about when you start showing yourself, people start saying things about like they start caring about certain different things.
- 31:29SPEAKER_02: Like, I remember last summer I posted, like, help me pick out an outfit for the rodeo, and everyone loved that, and I was like, This is hilarious, like it has nothing to do with social media, but it has everything to do with you, and people love to share their opinions.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: People love to share their opinions, and I think people love to be invited into your life in certain silly ways, like that.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Like, what outfit should I wear?
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: Where should I go tonight?
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: What are what dinner recommendations do you have?
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: Like, one thing I love sharing is like I'm going to this city, what should I do?
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Because my followers are kind of all over, and they probably have a recommendation, and I'm like, I love that.
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: I would really love to tell you to tell me what to do, you know?
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: And they feel like when you use their advice, even if it was you made the decision, they feel like a friend, you know.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that's huge about building a community.
- 32:21SPEAKER_02: What else about building wait, are there any like maybe are there any like red flags or like bad things for communities, like things you shouldn't do?
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, I would say the a red flag I do see is I I kind of hate when people complain to their community.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: I feel like it's okay to complain to your community, but I some I think that that can sometimes become a habit.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: And it's like I personally I just like positive vibes around my brand.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: Positive vibes, me too.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: But like I see I'll see people complain about a client on their socials, and like no one's gonna want to work with you.
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: You're terrifying.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, I don't like that energy either of complaining about a client.
- 33:08SPEAKER_02: I think it's different if you share a client experience.
- 33:11SPEAKER_02: If you're like, I had this client, this happened, here's what we did, blah blah.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: Like, that's a story, and that's okay.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: But complaining about a client, oh yeah, or like I'll see people post things where it's just like they're calling out their community.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: Like, there's um, I follow a tailor here in um in Las Vegas, and I really love his stuff, and I've wanted to buy a suit for my husband from him.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: And a couple weeks ago, he posted something that was like, the prices are what they are, like, don't it was just like kind of rude.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I I get that like people maybe were not happy about the prices of your suits, but like you're telling all of us that, and like that's something you should handle yourself, and like we don't need to know that, you know, and it was just kind of a turnoff there for me.
- 34:01SPEAKER_02: That's a big red flag.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: Like, that would make me not want to work with someone if they're like attacking their community.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Like, it's like I didn't I haven't bought anything from you, I didn't say that.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: Like, why are you saying that to me and not the person who was giving you shit?
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: Like you're redirecting this at uh at the wrong people.
- 34:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it that honestly makes me think about talking about pricing in general on social media, and I think you just have to be cautious about how you talk about pricing.
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: Like, I've seen so many posts, specifically in the photography industry, um, where they'll be like, this is why a wedding costs this much.
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: Because my gear is this much, my travel, my blah blah blah is this much.
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, that's just not a very good way to sell your offer.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: That's not your client's yeah, that's not your client's problem.
- 34:50SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, they don't care how much your camera costs.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: You need to put that into your price of your service if it's so expensive and it bothers you so bad.
- 34:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's just like that's not gonna get someone to buy from you, and that's the same thing that guy was doing.
- 35:04SPEAKER_02: He's saying, like, the cost of the stuff is the cost of the stuff because it is the cost, and it's like that is not like you're not giving any value, you're not explaining why your suk, your suit might be that much, and so might someone else's be.
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: So, like, why would they go to work with you instead of the other suit guy?
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: Like, there's so many better ways to talk about like why prices are the way that they are, or like why an investment is the way that it is that has nothing to do with like the costs involved.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: Also, like I don't I don't think I'm perfect at this.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't think I've been perfect at this, but if you're like feeling tempted to go online and complain, either have a close friends group or wait 24 hours and see if it bothers you still.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: Because I have I have complained to my close friends group, but like I know who's in there.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, yeah, 100%.
- 35:55SPEAKER_02: And like vocalizing a complaint is totally normal.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: Like, I do that to my partner, I'll be like, Yeah, oh, I'm so annoyed about like this client or that client or what's going on in the industry or blah blah blah blah blah, but it's like I'm not gonna post that on my story.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: I I feel like if you some things that I do see, I think if you complain about the industry and you're like, I see this injustice in the industry, it's maybe okay, but yeah, that's I don't know.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: I still I feel like a podcast, like more of a long-form content or even a YouTube video, are is probably a more appropriate place because you can give more context.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: Whereas if you're like, This is how I feel, like people they don't understand the context, you know, and yeah.
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: Because, like, for example, what we were just talking about, like out of context, me saying, like, there's people I don't like and I won't work with them.
- 36:46SPEAKER_02: If you take that out of context, you're gonna be like, She's the worst.
- 36:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but if you understand like the context behind that, and then it's like, I actually think you're an awesome person, I just don't feel like our vibes match.
- 36:58SPEAKER_02: It's completely different, like it changes the whole thing, and that is the difference of long form and short form content, which is why I really love long-form content because you really can.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: This has to do exactly with a community, but like with long form content, you can build such a strong community because they learn people so much from you, and they know you like they literally know you.
- 37:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, they are, and like you were we were talking about inside jokes and stuff like that, those come from like long-form content, or like a lot of repetition can do it too, but like long-form content creates those like inside jokes in those communities that are like super close-knit.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, also, quick side note.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: I feel like my long-form content is what has helped me sign more solid clients.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: Why do you think that is?
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: I just think they can trust me more, you know.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: They're like, I really have listened to her, like I know who she is, I've got the vibe.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, like I was when you started your podcast, I was so excited.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: I was like, she's gonna get the best people from this.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, I just think people I think that if they really like your long-form content, they really like you and hopefully want to work with you.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it's like more dialogue.
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: Like this podcast is definitely for value, but I also agree, I feel like people have gotten to know me a lot better by listening to the podcast, and that trust is built.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: I would say the dress trust is built a little quicker than if it's built on Instagram because you only get little tiny snippets and nuggets on Instagram, but on this, it's like more unfiltered, and you're just getting like the whole experience.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: It's like giving you.
- 38:38SPEAKER_01: Also, on podcast and and long form content in general, I feel like you can give so much more, like you said, value and context and like strategy.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: So we, you know, at the beginning of this, we were talking about mini chat.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: It is so hard to talk about like leading mini chat to an interact quiz quickly on social media without people being like, I don't get it.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: You know, I feel like that's I don't care because their attention span too is just like so short that like how do you explain that in under, I don't know, three seconds?
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: You can't really.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: But um, you know, someone who comes to this podcast or mine, they can hear that and be like, oh, she knows what she's doing.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's just 100%.
- 39:24SPEAKER_02: I think that trust so much easier.
- 39:27SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: First, I want to say thank you so much for being here and listening to my podcast.
- 39:33SPEAKER_02: It means the world to me, and I just appreciate this community more than you could ever know.
- 39:38SPEAKER_02: If you love this episode or a previous episode that you've listened to, go ahead and head to the Leave a Review link in the show notes and leave us a review.
- 39:48SPEAKER_02: We would really appreciate it, and we're so glad that you're here.
- 39:52SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 39:53SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, one more big huge question for you.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: If you can give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, is this like for career or personal?
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: Um, well, you could get both if you want.
- 40:12unknown: Okay.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I feel like for career, something that was really good for me is I am an eldest sister, so I'm very like type A, take care of everybody.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: Are you an eldest sister?
- 40:27SPEAKER_02: No, I'm the baby sister.
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: You're the baby, okay.
- 40:30SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: Oh my of seven?
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: I'm the seventh.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:34SPEAKER_02: Holy crap.
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: I your mother, God bless.
- 40:38SPEAKER_02: Um only two of them.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: It's a long story.
- 40:41SPEAKER_02: My mom only has two, but we've got four.
- 40:43SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: I'm just like assuming.
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: Mom, love ya.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Love you, mom.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: Um, I I feel like I would really like as you're choosing a career, pick something that makes sense for your lifestyle.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: So I feel like because I was very much like type A eldest sister, a lot of people wanted me to go into medicine.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: And like, they're like, you're really good at putting out fires, Jordan.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: And honestly, Jaden, I just didn't want to.
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: And like I take care of everyone.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: I don't want to take care of people.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: I just want to pick a career that's like a little more flow easy.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: And I know that there is drama in marketing, like, God knows, but it's not life or death.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: No.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: No, it's just not.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: So no.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: So I feel like that's a good that's a good one.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: I feel like another great piece of career advice is like, I don't know, Jaden.
- 41:35SPEAKER_01: I took my bosses so seriously, and like I just wouldn't anymore.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Like, I wouldn't really focus on building their business.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: I would probably focus on like how this is helping me build my career.
- 41:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I remember like yesterday I had this feeling of I remember working in corporate and like having meetings with like my managers or the owners or whatever.
- 41:58SPEAKER_02: I generally worked for smaller companies, so I had direct, you know, CEO access.
- 42:02SPEAKER_02: But my the way my heart and my gut, like, I was just panicked, like physiologically talking to them.
- 42:11SPEAKER_02: And I would literally not feel that way now.
- 42:14SPEAKER_02: I don't get that way on client calls with any of my clients.
- 42:17SPEAKER_02: I don't get that way when I get a mean email, which actually hasn't happened, or a mean DM, or whatever, like has happened, but I don't get that way when I and I would incorporate, and I agree with you 100%.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: It's the element that I'm in.
- 42:35SPEAKER_02: Like I trust myself, I have ownership over my business, I'm not worried about getting in trouble, which is how you feel 24-7 when you're working for a boss.
- 42:45SPEAKER_02: So I'm so wicking on that.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:49SPEAKER_02: And I feel you have my older sister.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: My oldest sister is uh, or my older sister, not the oldest, but is a doctor.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: See, like and I'm sure she's great at it because it's like you can really channel that like your personality into that, and like you're really taking care of people.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: But I just was like, I I don't want to take care of everyone all the time.
- 43:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sorry.
- 43:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, not there's nothing wrong with that.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: I really love that advice so much.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: That's why I like to give that out to people, and I don't know.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: I just feel like uh like you can have permission to do less.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: Like, here's your permission to do less.
- 43:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for real.
- 43:30SPEAKER_02: There's your freaking permission slip.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: Um, do you have personal advice?
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: Gosh, I'm trying to think of like personal because I'm I'm like a I'm you know, I'm married and I have a child, so I feel like my per I don't know if it's like if that's your audience.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: Are your audience already moms?
- 43:48SPEAKER_02: They're kind of there's a variety.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: There's moms and there's okay younger people.
- 43:52SPEAKER_02: I guess just like personal advice.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: I just think like something I'm really working on right now is just having like joy in life, you know, and when I am feeling joy, I like to say it out loud to myself.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: I like to be like, I'm feeling happy because of this, because I think a lot of times we'll say that we're sad about something or anxious or nervous.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: Um, and I I don't think we do that with positive feelings as often.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: So I'm really trying to do that right now, and that's been really good for my mental health.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: So that is a literally going to use that advice starting immediately because it's so well true.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: Like, I will totally say when I'm having a bad time, but yeah, I don't always say like this is so fun, or like I'm enjoying this, or like I love this, today's a good day.
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't ever say those things, and right your words are your want.
- 44:44SPEAKER_02: So I feel like if you say that more often, that's what will be true more often.
- 44:50SPEAKER_01: I completely agree, and it it's just like so fun to recognize joy, you know.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: And I don't think we were really taught how to do that, you know.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't think our culture really wants that.
- 45:01SPEAKER_01: I think they I think they have really trained us well to be scared.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, the fear is ridiculous.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: So I I just enjoy like verbally saying I'm happy.
- 45:14SPEAKER_02: I love that so much.
- 45:16SPEAKER_02: Thank you for coming on the podcast today.
- 45:19SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
