- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. All Right, we're live in Germany.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Coming up in a little bit ahead of that big
- 0:19Speaker 1: game on NFL Network in Munich on Sunday morning. Also
- 0:24Speaker 1: coming up, what are the Cowboys think about potentially adding
- 0:26Speaker 1: Odell Beckham Jr. We'll ask one of their wide receivers.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Michael Gallup is scheduled to join us on this game
- 0:32Speaker 1: day edition of NFL Now on NFL Network. Also, we're
- 0:35Speaker 1: live in Charlotte ahead of TNFL Panthers and the Falcon.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We begin with an update on Josh Allen. Hither Ian
- 0:42Speaker 1: Rappaport NFL Network insider he did not practice on Wednesday
- 0:45Speaker 1: with that sprained elbow today, same story, Yeah, not spotted
- 0:52Speaker 1: when reporters are out there for the beginning of practice,
- 0:54Speaker 1: presumably meaning he did not practice today, although we'll get
- 0:57Speaker 1: the injury report a little later to give us the
- 0:59Speaker 1: official word, which means that we now wait until Friday
- 1:03Speaker 1: and see whether or not Josh Allen is going to
- 1:04Speaker 1: be out there. But frankly, Andrew, it just doesn't look great.
- 1:07Speaker 1: And there's a couple of things here with Josh Allen's
- 1:09Speaker 1: elbow sprain, his injury to his u c L, which
- 1:13Speaker 1: is basically a pictures injury not considered to be a
- 1:16Speaker 1: major major injury, something he can work through, according to sources,
- 1:20Speaker 1: but it does leave a status for Sunday and doubt
- 1:22Speaker 1: because it's not just how much pain is he in,
- 1:25Speaker 1: it's also Kenny grip of football. There's some nerve issues
- 1:28Speaker 1: there as well. It's like when you hear your funny
- 1:30Speaker 1: bone on your elbow and you can't grip and feel
- 1:32Speaker 1: things for a little bit. That's kind of what he's
- 1:34Speaker 1: dealing with, which I know sounds funny, but that's basically
- 1:36Speaker 1: what it is. So we'll see if he's able to
- 1:38Speaker 1: grip a football enough to practice tomorrow. Right if he
- 1:41Speaker 1: cannot go to this case, Keenum against one of his
- 1:44Speaker 1: many former teams, but one that he took to the
- 1:46Speaker 1: NFC Championship game in twenty seventeen. Meantime, in Vegas, you're
- 1:51Speaker 1: not gonna have to wait until game day to find
- 1:53Speaker 1: out if Darren Waller is going to play this week.
- 1:55Speaker 1: He is not in and he's gonna be out a while. Yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 1: he has been officially placed. You're gonna be officially placed
- 2:01Speaker 1: on injury reserve later this afternoon, going to be out
- 2:03Speaker 1: a minimum of four games and for a while. This
- 2:06Speaker 1: will give him a chance to heal. And this has
- 2:08Speaker 1: been an interesting one to watch because there's been several
- 2:11Speaker 1: times over the last couple of weeks when the belief
- 2:13Speaker 1: has been and he's been really close. Maybe if he
- 2:15Speaker 1: works out, he feels okay, he get out there and play,
- 2:18Speaker 1: but has not been able to play, just hasn't quite
- 2:21Speaker 1: been able to get over the hump. Similar situation for
- 2:23Speaker 1: Keenan Allen in the Los Angeles Charges. He also has
- 2:27Speaker 1: just fighting it and fighting it, and every step forward
- 2:29Speaker 1: is a step back, and sometimes the only way he's
- 2:31Speaker 1: just pulled all the way back put him on I
- 2:33Speaker 1: R let him heal. That is what the Raiders are
- 2:36Speaker 1: doing with Waller. Tony Pollard looked great a couple of
- 2:38Speaker 1: weeks ago before the Cowboys. By the Cowboys backfield is better. However,
- 2:42Speaker 1: with both Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott, how's he looking for Sunday, Well,
- 2:47Speaker 1: it seems to be some optimism regarding Ezekiel Elliott for Sunday,
- 2:50Speaker 1: which makes him sense he's gotta let's say, relatively minor
- 2:54Speaker 1: m c l and Drew and nothing nothing serious there
- 2:57Speaker 1: for Ezekiel Elliott. But they do want to be cautious
- 2:59Speaker 1: because last year that pcl sprain that he had basically
- 3:04Speaker 1: the entire season, limited him severely. We know that Tony
- 3:07Speaker 1: Poller is a baller, So if Zeke hadim is another
- 3:09Speaker 1: game just to make sure he healed fully. I think
- 3:12Speaker 1: everybody would be okay with that. The by came at
- 3:14Speaker 1: the right time that, no doubt helped. We'll see if
- 3:17Speaker 1: he's able to get out there. But everything from the
- 3:19Speaker 1: Cowboys and from Zeke has been optimism about his status.
- 3:22Speaker 1: For something. McCarthy said on the podium today that he
- 3:24Speaker 1: saw Zeke earlier in the day and that Zeke said, Yep,
- 3:27Speaker 1: I'm good, I'm ready to go. But McCarthy added everyone,
- 3:29Speaker 1: obviously I would say that, thank you mean Rappaport our
- 3:33Speaker 1: NFL network inside. Now we get to the Thursday game.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Week ten is hours away. It's the four and five
- 3:39Speaker 1: Atlanta Falcons and the two and seven Carolina Panthers. Second
- 3:43Speaker 1: time in three weeks these two teams met. They gave
- 3:46Speaker 1: us a classic back in Week eight. Camp Wolf was
- 3:49Speaker 1: with US Live Now at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte,
- 3:52Speaker 1: where the Falcons are four and five. They're actually tied
- 3:56Speaker 1: with the Bucketeers, but the Bucks have the head to
- 3:58Speaker 1: head here, so they lead the NFC South. But the
- 4:00Speaker 1: Falcons have a fun brand of football. What is their
- 4:03Speaker 1: offensive identity, and Andrew, they take the mold of their
- 4:09Speaker 1: head coach Arthur Smith, and that they're gonna be physical.
- 4:11Speaker 1: They're gonna run the ball anywhere, in any weather, in
- 4:14Speaker 1: any score, and they are not apologetic for it at all.
- 4:17Speaker 1: And this game tonight is built for them. As you see,
- 4:20Speaker 1: it's raining down now, it's gonna be raining all nights,
- 4:23Speaker 1: supposed to be heavy rains, supposed to be heavy win.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And for a team that loves to run the ball,
- 4:28Speaker 1: the second most run raid in the league, fourth most
- 4:30Speaker 1: rushing yards in the league, expect them with Cord, Darrel
- 4:33Speaker 1: Patterson the rest of the backfield to run plenty against
- 4:36Speaker 1: the Panther's defense that's in the bottom five and rushing
- 4:38Speaker 1: d and I remember talking to Arthur Smith and right
- 4:41Speaker 1: before the draft, and he told me that, look, I
- 4:44Speaker 1: know people are picking us to be the worst team
- 4:46Speaker 1: in the league, but our guys are gonna fight hard
- 4:48Speaker 1: and they do. They play for each other, and so
- 4:50Speaker 1: why some people may think it's a surprise for the
- 4:52Speaker 1: Falcons to be tied for the NFC South League. They don't.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And this is a team that's been building for the
- 4:58Speaker 1: future for three and beyond. They traded away Julio Jones
- 5:01Speaker 1: and Matt Ryan, they've been quiet and free agency the
- 5:03Speaker 1: last two years and pres for a big cat space
- 5:06Speaker 1: in the future, and so they all have a bright
- 5:09Speaker 1: future ahead of them. But for tonight, they are focused
- 5:11Speaker 1: on beating the Carolina Panthers and taking a chance in
- 5:14Speaker 1: this NFC South that is wide open. And if you
- 5:16Speaker 1: look ahead in their schedule, there's quite a possibility that
- 5:19Speaker 1: maybe in week eighteen, we're playing in Atlanta Falcons and
- 5:22Speaker 1: Bucks in the NFC South title game. Wouldn't that be fun?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Cam Wolf and a a rainy Charlotte good looking suit, my friend,
- 5:28Speaker 1: go get it, Go get an umbrella. Speaking of the Bucketeers,
- 5:36Speaker 1: it's time history in the making. So keep it locked
- 5:39Speaker 1: in the barren witness the NFL Network, Got your teekis
- 5:42Speaker 1: international business. The very first NFL game in Germany and
- 5:46Speaker 1: this muniqu to be specific. Let's get it Seahawk. No,
- 5:50Speaker 1: maybe that's gonna be crazy to break out in the
- 5:52Speaker 1: trade and so you got pretty. Seattle was NFC West
- 5:55Speaker 1: first place in Mr. Smith and d Cabin holding up.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Wait lately, what you gotta count town me? Look at
- 6:02Speaker 1: that Sunday Bucks come from behind seals matching our first
- 6:12Speaker 1: regular season game in Germany. The Bucks arrived tomorrow. But
- 6:18Speaker 1: that's Pete Carroll on the practice field today. The Seahawks
- 6:22Speaker 1: left Wednesday evening, flew over the North Pole, got there
- 6:26Speaker 1: in time for practice after dumping their bags at the hotel,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and afterwards quadret things with Sarah Walsh quandary. I know
- 6:35Speaker 1: jet lag is real, but you guys are out there dancing.
- 6:38Speaker 1: There's some pep in the step. How are you guys
- 6:40Speaker 1: feeling not far removed from getting off that airplane? I
- 6:43Speaker 1: mean we feel good. I mean that's just energy we
- 6:45Speaker 1: bring every day. So, I mean just the type of
- 6:47Speaker 1: culture we have, so for us, that's just that's normal.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So you know, even if you don't got it, you
- 6:52Speaker 1: fake like you got it. But I think we really
- 6:54Speaker 1: got and I think guys that really enjoyed the opportunity
- 6:56Speaker 1: to be somewhere new, and you know, see I have
- 6:58Speaker 1: a new fan base cheering forwards, and you know, see
- 7:00Speaker 1: how I go. This has been quite a change of
- 7:02Speaker 1: scenery and quite a change on your defense. In the
- 7:04Speaker 1: last couple of weeks, this defense has looked really good
- 7:07Speaker 1: for you guys. What has been the difference? I mean,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I think we just believe in what we are and
- 7:11Speaker 1: who we are. You know, we know we we were
- 7:14Speaker 1: what we're really good at, and we just honed in
- 7:15Speaker 1: on those things, and um, we do those things very well.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And you know, um, the stuff we're not good at
- 7:21Speaker 1: we continue to work on and we try to get better.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So um, I think you know, we put the emphasis
- 7:25Speaker 1: on things that we're not good at, and we continue
- 7:26Speaker 1: to get better at the things we are good at,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and we all believe in each other. What would it
- 7:30Speaker 1: mean for your defense to get a win here on
- 7:33Speaker 1: the international stage against the guy that's playing quarterback for
- 7:36Speaker 1: the other team. I mean, it would be dope, you know.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But for us it's another game, another opportunity to come
- 7:40Speaker 1: out and play the game. We love. Different stage for sure,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you know, we ought in Germany, but at the end
- 7:45Speaker 1: of the day, it'd be cool to come out here
- 7:46Speaker 1: and get a win against Tampa. And you know, um,
- 7:49Speaker 1: just say that you be able to compete against one
- 7:51Speaker 1: of the best to ever do it, and probably the
- 7:53Speaker 1: best to ever do it in my mind. So, UM,
- 7:55Speaker 1: I think it'd be cool. Enjoy your time in Munich.
- 7:58Speaker 1: All right, Pete Carroll had the team, Thank you, Sarah,
- 8:01Speaker 1: thank you Madre. After practice, we took them to bowling.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Try to keep a mump and get him on a
- 8:06Speaker 1: Germany schedule. Our Germany schedule is nine thirty am on
- 8:09Speaker 1: Sunday for kickoff live here on NFL Network, seven am
- 8:12Speaker 1: up in early for game day morning. Also by the way,
- 8:15Speaker 1: on NFL Plus Steve Whych and Brian Bowlding. It's almost
- 8:17Speaker 1: like you got the kids in the backseat and you
- 8:19Speaker 1: want them to stay awake until you get home. It's like,
- 8:22Speaker 1: stay await, we're going bowling. We're going bowling, and then
- 8:25Speaker 1: get on the normal sleep schedule. Um, let's talk about
- 8:27Speaker 1: Quandre Diggs in that defense, because Gino understandably and Kenneth
- 8:30Speaker 1: Walker are getting a lot of the hype here. Steve,
- 8:32Speaker 1: you have pointed out repeatedly this defense deserves a little more.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Does the first up ball? You remember what Quandre Diggs
- 8:38Speaker 1: just said right there, Even if you don't have the energy,
- 8:41Speaker 1: fake it like you whatever the watch says. That's what
- 8:48Speaker 1: time it is. That's okay, period. Yes, Well, look about
- 8:52Speaker 1: the defense. We're talking about the secondary, right, Quandre Diggs,
- 8:55Speaker 1: Kobe Bryant, you know, Tarik Wooling. These guys have been
- 8:58Speaker 1: absolutely fantastic. It's been a developmental process. Something we talked
- 9:02Speaker 1: about in the last Pete Carroll and Clint Hurt, the
- 9:04Speaker 1: defensive coordinator, have done with the shooting. But now they're
- 9:08Speaker 1: playing a Bucks receiving corps. Baldy, that one is diminished
- 9:11Speaker 1: and two drops a lot of balls, but three gets
- 9:14Speaker 1: a lot of opportunities because they don't run the ball
- 9:16Speaker 1: very much. So this is a stage where this secondary
- 9:19Speaker 1: has an opportunity to shine. They're a heavy zone defense.
- 9:22Speaker 1: You know, Tom Brady likes to find the holes in
- 9:25Speaker 1: the zone. But the fact that receivers have not helped
- 9:27Speaker 1: them out that much, and the fact that, um, they've
- 9:30Speaker 1: got these players on the secondary that that are all
- 9:32Speaker 1: over the ball. Tom Brady has one pick coming into
- 9:35Speaker 1: this game. Baldy may finish this game with a little
- 9:38Speaker 1: bit more than that. Well, the Bucks are so one dimensionals, yeah,
- 9:42Speaker 1: I mean you watch the rushing attack. I mean it's
- 9:45Speaker 1: when they're last in the league in rushing yards and
- 9:48Speaker 1: Rush Adams their last like there's nobody close to him
- 9:51Speaker 1: right now, and so they were very one dimentionally two
- 9:54Speaker 1: fifteen times more than they running, and Seattle knows all
- 9:57Speaker 1: those stats. They're gonna get a lot of opportunities. And
- 10:00Speaker 1: when I watched Duck Woolen lockdown the right side where
- 10:04Speaker 1: Mike Evans is a lot that's a matchup. You know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: if I was there in Munich at that beautiful stadium,
- 10:11Speaker 1: I'd be watching that game within the game because it's
- 10:14Speaker 1: a lot like what Mike Evan sees when he goes
- 10:16Speaker 1: up against Harland Humphrey or Jalen Ramsey. He's gonna see
- 10:19Speaker 1: Trek Bulleer on that side, and he's very, very good.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And so they're gonna get a lot of chances. One thing,
- 10:25Speaker 1: because the offensive line isn't great for Tampa, and they
- 10:29Speaker 1: do throw it so much. The ball comes out fast.
- 10:32Speaker 1: And so right now Tom Brady and every measure throughout
- 10:35Speaker 1: his career, it's the lowest area are yards yards part
- 10:39Speaker 1: of tempt All that stuff is way down right now
- 10:42Speaker 1: because he's got to get rid of the ball quickly.
- 10:44Speaker 1: And so if I'm Seattle, I'm kind of sitting on
- 10:46Speaker 1: some of these passes right now. For what it's worth.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Tom Brady three and one in his career head to
- 10:51Speaker 1: head against Gino Smith. If you like the quarterback head
- 10:53Speaker 1: to head stats here, but the no, no, the Kuantan
- 10:57Speaker 1: research came to me and here's why, three wins of
- 11:00Speaker 1: it by a grand total of six points. My point
- 11:02Speaker 1: is they play close games, obviously, Todd Bowles Gina Smith,
- 11:05Speaker 1: familiarity from the time together with the Jets. Wait, you
- 11:07Speaker 1: looking at me like that fake a team making Andrew,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm giving a quanta solid or you give me a
- 11:11Speaker 1: note here. I haven't used all his notes today. I
- 11:13Speaker 1: feel bad about him. It does a great job. I
- 11:15Speaker 1: want to use when research kids notes and then I
- 11:19Speaker 1: don't use them. Then I feel back. Okay, it's a
- 11:22Speaker 1: good note coming up next. The latest of these two
- 11:24Speaker 1: quarterbacks who potentially face each other is that okay, yeah, okay, yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 1: Sunday at so or maybe they don't oh and maybe
- 11:32Speaker 1: they tell so. There is a new Hard Knocks. The
- 11:40Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals debut last night on HBO Max. The in
- 11:44Speaker 1: season last year we had it with the Colts. This
- 11:46Speaker 1: year with the Cardinals. Last night's episode had more details
- 11:49Speaker 1: on this little conversation more details on Kyler's second quarter
- 11:53Speaker 1: hamstring injury. La plus this man, I want to challenge
- 11:58Speaker 1: you guys. Somebody play murder than Buddha. Get a game.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Watch from comes from here, trying to play hard? What
- 12:09Speaker 1: kind of defense? What do we have? Should be Bowler again?
- 12:14Speaker 1: Hush lays hey, listen up, listen to man. We're going
- 12:19Speaker 1: in this. We mad angry. We gotta make the slimy,
- 12:23Speaker 1: make the dirty win. That's the only go on. Our
- 12:27Speaker 1: mindset is win. That's it. Man. We gave him one
- 12:30Speaker 1: in Seattle with win win hey Man when went on
- 12:36Speaker 1: three three hard knocks, had a lot of Buddha. Baker
- 12:41Speaker 1: try to get his team fired up, both on the
- 12:43Speaker 1: field and in the locker room. The quarterback up. There
- 12:45Speaker 1: is this Matthew staffords and concussion protocol. His status for
- 12:49Speaker 1: Sunday is very much up in the air. If he
- 12:50Speaker 1: doesn't go, it's gonna be John Woolford. The news on
- 12:53Speaker 1: Kyler Murray is positive today. He didn't practice yesterday. It's
- 12:57Speaker 1: a hammy again. You could see more and hear more
- 13:00Speaker 1: about that injury on Hard Knocks. Kyler was seen on
- 13:04Speaker 1: the actice field today in the early portion that was
- 13:07Speaker 1: open to the media. This is Steve White, this is
- 13:09Speaker 1: Mark Ross, and you can't overstate how important this game
- 13:12Speaker 1: is for both teams. Rams desperately needed. We saw what
- 13:14Speaker 1: happened in Tampa, and from a Cardinal's perspective, Cliff Kingsbury
- 13:18Speaker 1: is getting asked about his job status and Mark they
- 13:20Speaker 1: are O and three in the division. Yeah, we've been
- 13:25Speaker 1: talking about the Cardinals that their dysfunction the whole season.
- 13:28Speaker 1: First it was they can't score at all in the
- 13:30Speaker 1: first quarter, in the first half. And now you see
- 13:33Speaker 1: clips of Kyler Murray first yelling at Cliff Kingsbury, the
- 13:36Speaker 1: head coach, a couple of weeks ago. Then he's yelling
- 13:38Speaker 1: at DeAndre Hopkins last week. Their offense can't get going.
- 13:42Speaker 1: No one's on the same page. So it seems as
- 13:44Speaker 1: if there's something to the core here of the foundation
- 13:48Speaker 1: of the Cardinals that just isn't right. And now when
- 13:52Speaker 1: you have the pressure of a head coach where you're
- 13:54Speaker 1: just on when's he gonna get fired? Watch, that's never
- 13:57Speaker 1: good for a team. Uh. And when you look at
- 14:00Speaker 1: the Cardinals as a whole, they are talent arriffed and
- 14:03Speaker 1: a lot of positions really just rely on Kyler Murray
- 14:07Speaker 1: to make magic happen, and now with his hamstring, you
- 14:10Speaker 1: know Kyler especially because he can run around and do
- 14:13Speaker 1: those sort of things. So that's a major concern with
- 14:16Speaker 1: this offense if it will get better. Uh. To add
- 14:19Speaker 1: to that, you know, all great organizations I've been a
- 14:22Speaker 1: part of with the Giants, you know, the ownership and
- 14:24Speaker 1: John Mayra was heavily involved, invested, invested and mostly always
- 14:28Speaker 1: ask great questions. But let you do your job. And
- 14:30Speaker 1: then you have reports this week that the head coach
- 14:33Speaker 1: Cliff Kingsbury in the defensive Coordinatordvantage Joseph are watching film
- 14:36Speaker 1: with the owner. That that's never a good thing where
- 14:39Speaker 1: they should be invest in their time getting ready for
- 14:42Speaker 1: a game and preparing the team and not doing that
- 14:45Speaker 1: with the owner. That that I have never heard of before.
- 14:48Speaker 1: So I think this, this function of the Cardinals runs
- 14:51Speaker 1: at a lot of different levels. Steve. Yeah, they're watching
- 14:54Speaker 1: filled with the owner. Both of them are savvy enough
- 14:56Speaker 1: to understand that's not great really for either of we. Look,
- 14:58Speaker 1: we saw Jimrcia and owner get involved into football decisions
- 15:01Speaker 1: with the Colts over the past couple of weeks as well.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But I want to flip it over to wis going
- 15:05Speaker 1: on with the Rams because they don't have as much
- 15:07Speaker 1: as this function is going on in Arizona. But the
- 15:09Speaker 1: record is only one game better, and so part of
- 15:12Speaker 1: the is their offense, well a lot of it is
- 15:14Speaker 1: their offense. We heard Jalen Ramsey actually pop off a
- 15:17Speaker 1: little bit about the ineffectiveness of the offense. If Matthew Stafford,
- 15:20Speaker 1: the concussion thing is clearly something to watch. So his backup,
- 15:23Speaker 1: John Walford, is gonna be getting snaps in practice because
- 15:25Speaker 1: even if Staffords and protocol, he cannot actively be out there,
- 15:28Speaker 1: but until it goes through some steps in terms of
- 15:31Speaker 1: getting team practice reps in. So if Stafford's out there,
- 15:34Speaker 1: Sean McVeigh, sets of things have to change. Maybe it's schematic,
- 15:37Speaker 1: maybe it's hitting more crossing routes. Things that they used
- 15:40Speaker 1: to do they're kind of getting away from because Stafford's
- 15:42Speaker 1: gotta get rid of it quickly on these screens and
- 15:44Speaker 1: and and horizontal routes. Um. But look, if Wolford has
- 15:48Speaker 1: got to play and Bryce Perkins is the backup, those
- 15:50Speaker 1: are two mobile quarterbacks. These are guys who can maybe
- 15:53Speaker 1: escape some of the woes on the offensive. Line. Maybe
- 15:55Speaker 1: they can create some running lanes as well. Andrew. It's
- 15:59Speaker 1: not the ideal situation, but if they have to go
- 16:02Speaker 1: to the backup situation, that will allow them to open
- 16:04Speaker 1: up the play some and maybe overcome some of the
- 16:07Speaker 1: issues up front. Listen, you'd love to see Matthew Safford
- 16:10Speaker 1: played this game absolutely. Rams fans have also been clamoring
- 16:15Speaker 1: to see Bryce Britton's used he's been around for a
- 16:18Speaker 1: couple of years in a regular season game. Both can
- 16:20Speaker 1: be true here. Maybe that happens on Sunday. Thank you Steve,
- 16:24Speaker 1: Thank you Mark withsvat of the Sunday night game that
- 16:27Speaker 1: will feature the l A Chargers who eat out a
- 16:30Speaker 1: win this past Sunday in Atlanta up in Santa Clara
- 16:35Speaker 1: facing the forty Niners. They eaked out the win after
- 16:39Speaker 1: this fumble gave Cameron Dicker a chance coming off of bye.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Rely with the Chargers now talking to Bridget Condon taking
- 16:47Speaker 1: the Niners angle here where maybe we see Christian McCaffrey
- 16:50Speaker 1: and Deebo Samuel together for Kyle Shanahan Andrew. Deebo Samuel
- 16:56Speaker 1: was listed as a full participant in practice yesterday, so
- 16:59Speaker 1: all signs are pointing to Sunday being the first complete
- 17:03Speaker 1: game with Debo and Christian and keeping mind Kyle Shanahan
- 17:06Speaker 1: has had an extra week to game plan because they
- 17:08Speaker 1: had that by last week. So not only is it
- 17:11Speaker 1: Debo and Christian who can both catch, they can run
- 17:13Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey even through a touchdown pass in that game
- 17:16Speaker 1: against the Rams. But you also add in a tight
- 17:19Speaker 1: end George Kittle, who can line up in the slot,
- 17:21Speaker 1: he can line up out. Why he can even line
- 17:23Speaker 1: up in the backfield. And I was talking to safety
- 17:25Speaker 1: for the Chargers, Derwin James, about preparing for such a
- 17:28Speaker 1: versatile offense, and he told me that's where his versatility
- 17:31Speaker 1: comes into play. He's one of the most versatile UH
- 17:34Speaker 1: safeties in the NFL. He's spent five percent of snaps
- 17:37Speaker 1: this season at four different alignments. And that's what Brandon
- 17:40Speaker 1: Staley says is important to have on your team, those
- 17:42Speaker 1: chess pieces for games like this. He also said this
- 17:45Speaker 1: week in practice, there's no way that they can try
- 17:47Speaker 1: and replicate everything the forty Niners can do with this offense.
- 17:51Speaker 1: But it's just opening that library and telling your players
- 17:54Speaker 1: that this is what we could see so that Sunday
- 17:56Speaker 1: they can react and be fast and not be thinking
- 17:59Speaker 1: about what they're seeing out there on a defensively here,
- 18:02Speaker 1: for the Chargers, run defense was a huge offseason priority.
- 18:07Speaker 1: It is not necessarily worked there near the bottom of
- 18:10Speaker 1: the league, and now bridget they don't have Austin Johnson right,
- 18:14Speaker 1: the hits just keep on coming. Sebastian Joseph Day said,
- 18:16Speaker 1: losing Austin Johnson is a huge loss. You cannot speak
- 18:20Speaker 1: to what that means for this defense. He said, We're
- 18:23Speaker 1: gonna have to rely on the players that are inside
- 18:25Speaker 1: this locker room. One benefit though, Andrew is Sebastian Joseph
- 18:28Speaker 1: Day is a player that came from the Ramps. He
- 18:30Speaker 1: spent four seasons with them. He has a lot of
- 18:32Speaker 1: familiarity against this forty Niners team. So he's telling his
- 18:36Speaker 1: teammates this is going to be a fast and physical game.
- 18:39Speaker 1: This is a game where we cannot get caught with
- 18:41Speaker 1: our cleets not in the ground, because they will come
- 18:43Speaker 1: out and punch you in the face. He also said
- 18:46Speaker 1: it's going to be important to focus on the attention
- 18:49Speaker 1: to detail this week in practice. Try not to have
- 18:52Speaker 1: those explosive plays that we've seen the Chargers give up
- 18:55Speaker 1: recently and just focus on repetition, repetition, repetition coming up next?
- 19:02Speaker 1: How did the cults prepare for the Raiders? Invite verse
- 19:05Speaker 1: on Sunday. You're watching NFL now and we have more
- 19:14Speaker 1: news out of Vegas. More bad news here for the Raiders.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Darren Wallers going on injured reserve. Same for Hunter renfro So,
- 19:23Speaker 1: no Waller, no renfro for at least the next month.
- 19:29Speaker 1: It's an oblique injury. As the two win Raiders get
- 19:34Speaker 1: set on Sunday to take on Jeff Saturday in the
- 19:37Speaker 1: Indianapolis Colts. And here's our first look at Jeff Saturday,
- 19:41Speaker 1: their new head coach, on the practice field. Look there,
- 19:45Speaker 1: there is a lot of snark, understandably going around here
- 19:49Speaker 1: about the Colts and the way they've handled things here
- 19:52Speaker 1: Mark Ross, the last couple of days, I will say
- 19:54Speaker 1: this about Jeff Saturday handled himself really well on the
- 19:58Speaker 1: podium yesterday in his first press conference as a head coach,
- 20:01Speaker 1: and I think people are legitimately rooting for him. But
- 20:04Speaker 1: from front off this perspective, as you sit here, what's
- 20:08Speaker 1: your take on how things have played out in Indianapolis
- 20:11Speaker 1: this week? Well, if you're specifically Chris Balladier the general manager,
- 20:17Speaker 1: and er Say has made these moves. You're used to it.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You've been You've been the general manager since two thousands
- 20:23Speaker 1: seventeen and you work with Jim Ersay every day, so
- 20:25Speaker 1: you know his personality, you know how involved he is,
- 20:29Speaker 1: and this probably is not a surprise that he acted
- 20:32Speaker 1: like this is probably surprised that it was Jeff Saturday,
- 20:34Speaker 1: and I'm sure Chris Ballard talked to him about it,
- 20:37Speaker 1: try to talk him out of it. But when you
- 20:39Speaker 1: have an owner that is so involved, and look, there's
- 20:41Speaker 1: different levels of ownership involvement from guys that are completely
- 20:45Speaker 1: hands off, the ones that are in the middle of hey,
- 20:47Speaker 1: I'm involved in talking, asking questions, but let you do
- 20:50Speaker 1: your job. And then you have certain owners that are
- 20:52Speaker 1: just running over the organization and making decisions without anyone
- 20:57Speaker 1: one else's input. That's what it seems like here with
- 21:00Speaker 1: the Colts, because I'm sure Chris Ballard didn't say, let's
- 21:03Speaker 1: hire a guy who has no experience before, but for him,
- 21:06Speaker 1: he's just gonna go business as usual. Well, get ready
- 21:08Speaker 1: for the draft exactly, and this late in the season,
- 21:12Speaker 1: after the trade deadline, there's only so much that a
- 21:14Speaker 1: general manager actually does do a lot of it is
- 21:17Speaker 1: prep for next spring. Thank you Mark Ross there in
- 21:20Speaker 1: front of office perspective on what they're dealing with in Indianapolis.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Where they're dealing with in Denver is a bye week
- 21:26Speaker 1: and getting back at it on the road against a
- 21:27Speaker 1: division leader this week there at a one o'clock eastern
- 21:30Speaker 1: kickoff in Nashville against the Titans. One of the things
- 21:34Speaker 1: James Palmer I would think they might have worked on
- 21:37Speaker 1: after they got back from London is getting better on
- 21:39Speaker 1: third down. They are second to last in the NFL,
- 21:44Speaker 1: and that was a major focus of the bye week.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Nathaniel Hackett Andrew calls that their achilles heel and they're
- 21:49Speaker 1: going against the Titans, who have the number one third
- 21:52Speaker 1: down defense in all of the NFL. Keep an eye
- 21:55Speaker 1: on rookie tight end Greg Dulsitch as being a guy
- 21:58Speaker 1: that Russell Wilson is now really looked for quite a
- 22:01Speaker 1: bit in these last three games. He's only played three
- 22:03Speaker 1: games because he has a hamstring injury that up him
- 22:05Speaker 1: out of all of training camp the first part of
- 22:07Speaker 1: the season. He's already third on this team in receiving yards.
- 22:10Speaker 1: He used a vertical threat when he was at u
- 22:12Speaker 1: c l A the third round pick coming into this offense,
- 22:14Speaker 1: and rych Brabel said, when you watched the film, Russell
- 22:17Speaker 1: Wilson already has an eye for him and it stands
- 22:19Speaker 1: out to the Titans, and he could be a guy,
- 22:21Speaker 1: as Portland Sutton told me, working in the middle of
- 22:23Speaker 1: the field that could open some things up for him
- 22:25Speaker 1: on the outside. But this offense also takes a little
- 22:28Speaker 1: bit of a hit today as kJ Handler, their speedster
- 22:31Speaker 1: wide receiver, who was expected to increase his snaps coming
- 22:33Speaker 1: out of this bye week, injured his hamstring in practice yesterday.
- 22:37Speaker 1: He is now out of practice. They are evaluating the
- 22:39Speaker 1: severity of that injury Andswer. That takes a blow to
- 22:42Speaker 1: this offense. But Greg Dolsitch has been a bright spot
- 22:44Speaker 1: over these last three games. That look for him on
- 22:47Speaker 1: Sunday to be a you know, one to catch Russell
- 22:48Speaker 1: Wilson's the rookie tight end from here in Los Angeles.
- 22:51Speaker 1: End from u c l A, thank you, James Palmer.
- 22:54Speaker 1: The latest on the Broncos head an actually station Titan's
- 22:57Speaker 1: coming up next. We have time for one more thing
- 22:59Speaker 1: about that guy. We were just talking about one more
- 23:02Speaker 1: thing about Russell wilson An history in the making, so
- 23:14Speaker 1: keep it locked in the bear witness. The NFL network
- 23:17Speaker 1: got your teekis international business. The very first NFL game
- 23:20Speaker 1: in Germany, in this Munich to be specific. Let's giddy
- 23:24Speaker 1: Seahawks and no, maybe this's gonna be crazy to break
- 23:27Speaker 1: out in the grate it so you got you, Brady,
- 23:29Speaker 1: Seattle was NFC West first place in Mr. Smith and
- 23:32Speaker 1: d Cabin holding up way lately. But you know you
- 23:36Speaker 1: gotta count Tommy. Look at that Sunday Bucks come from behind,
- 23:40Speaker 1: Seahawks matching up for the Munich candy. This is the
- 23:44Speaker 1: first when you moved the chance. All right. If you
- 23:49Speaker 1: didn't know, I'm gonna remind you again. Sunday Morning football
- 23:53Speaker 1: football made in Germany, Seahawks and Bucketeers. The very first
- 23:57Speaker 1: NFL regular season game in Germany has not only an
- 24:00Speaker 1: I'm thirty a m e s turn kickoff right here
- 24:02Speaker 1: in the network at NFL Plus exclusively on either but
- 24:05Speaker 1: we have a seven am NFL game day and pick off. Yeah, okay, good,
- 24:11Speaker 1: got it. We're good for one more thing before we
- 24:14Speaker 1: go with some Dales going first. Well, as Matthew bu
- 24:19Speaker 1: Bar pointed out to me, the Chicago Bears. Who is
- 24:21Speaker 1: my desk person today and doing fine job as always
- 24:24Speaker 1: have had two plus rushing yards in four straight games.
- 24:29Speaker 1: That is tied for the longest streak in NFL history
- 24:32Speaker 1: with the seventy six Steelers, so they could make history
- 24:35Speaker 1: against Alliance on Sunday. All right, Bubar gets a shout
- 24:38Speaker 1: at me somewhere here over my shoulder, Palmer, what do
- 24:41Speaker 1: you get. I'm glad we got a shout out. That's nice.
- 24:44Speaker 1: He's working with Stacey. I work with him a lot.
- 24:46Speaker 1: He's a great guy. How about this. Let's talk more
- 24:48Speaker 1: about Russell Wilson and this wristband Andrew right, that's all
- 24:51Speaker 1: the rave right now here in Denver, and it was
- 24:53Speaker 1: brought out today that he's wearing this wristband now these
- 24:56Speaker 1: last couple of games here in Denver because of the
- 24:59Speaker 1: length of the burbage and some of these play calls,
- 25:01Speaker 1: and that we know the Brontos have had some issues
- 25:03Speaker 1: and how they have gotten play in quickly, how they
- 25:05Speaker 1: have communicated the operation in the early portion of this
- 25:08Speaker 1: season with new head coach Nathaniel Hackett. This is helping
- 25:12Speaker 1: that development in some sense. But talking wristbands in Denver
- 25:16Speaker 1: has been a very popular thing over the last twenty
- 25:18Speaker 1: four hours and I hope it doesn't die down anytime soon. Yeah.
- 25:20Speaker 1: The thing it is fun to backstory is the Seahawks.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Shane Waldron P. Carroll said that Geno Smith worth the
- 25:26Speaker 1: wrist band of that in years past. The other guy
- 25:29Speaker 1: didn't want to do that. Some some resistance that. Now
- 25:32Speaker 1: that's a thing, Mark Cross. One more thing speaking of
- 25:36Speaker 1: Geno Smith and no Seahawks of course are going over
- 25:38Speaker 1: the Germany and Munich to play, and they took their
- 25:41Speaker 1: Techno two they dance party over to Munich. But check
- 25:45Speaker 1: out the one the thirty five year old truth Irvan
- 25:48Speaker 1: who's just chilling like the old uncle at the party,
- 25:51Speaker 1: like I'm gonna let the kids and do the thing.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna go kill right here overwit not can get
- 25:56Speaker 1: on home. Ruth is not having any of that. You
- 25:58Speaker 1: gotta you gotta love that energy. I love the number
- 26:01Speaker 1: thirty one is jumping up it down in there. That
- 26:03Speaker 1: is d J Dallas. So we had a d J
- 26:05Speaker 1: at the Tuesday Techno dance party. So who we did there?
- 26:09Speaker 1: All right? I got you my one more thing friendly reminder.
- 26:13Speaker 1: We had our friend Tory Holt on yesterday. Check out
- 26:16Speaker 1: the bottom of the screen right here. Type Tory Holt
